Are you thankful this morning for our praise team who week

after week after week leads us to remember the importance of

things such as what we just sang to set our hope on Jesus?

Aren't you thankful for them all?

And I love that we keep seeing new faces up there as God

continues to add to this congregation those people who

can be a part of those teams. And I don't say that to draw

attention to them. I say that to thank the Lord for

always providing for what we need.

When you see some of these guys around the church, be sure and

tell them thank you for your obedience and using your

abilities and your gifts to lead us in praise.

Each week you have your Bibles. If you would turn to first

Timothy and the second chapter as we continue looking epistles,

the series that has been titled Biblical Ministers and Biblical

Ministries of this that we are going to look at today in first

1 Timothy 2 · chapter mention

Timothy chapter 2, we're going to read verses 18 through 15,

but we're really going to focus on verses 9 through 15 because.

8 was last week, but I'm just going to use that verse to make

a point and to show you something in the midst of what

we're going to be looking at today.

And so I want you to see the clear and the concise context of

this so that you're not confused because when you take this

passage of Scripture out of the context, you can make a big mess

out of it very quickly. Do that because I believe this,

that this is one of the clearest, yet most controversial

passages in all of the New Testament.

Especially in our day. And that's difficult for some of

you to understand. How can it be so clear and yet

be so? We're going to talk about that a

little today, but it's not always been the case of this

passage being controversial. It's generally throughout church

history, been pretty widely accepted and clearly understood.

But historically, if we were to depend on where things might

have fallen off the track, we would probably have to start

somewhere. World War 2 or post World War

2IN what is known as the second wave of feminism in this country

and during the 1960s and the 1970s following the.

Second World War. And it is in that and it is

there that we see a headlong and vicious assault.

And that's what I will call it. Because against the biblical

role of women, the biblical role of women in the home and in the

biblical role of women in the church, There was a first wave

of prior to this second wave of feminism, a wave that was in the

late 18, early 1900s. And this wave of feminism fought

for the fact that women had suffered for a long time and and

true, they had been oppressed. But the second wave is quite

different because it wasn't just women from human oppression, but

unfortunately. The second wave is subverts the

word of God, suppresses the truth and attempts to change the

God-given role of women. Now it asks this question.

Any further, how many of you still believe that God's word is

infallible, inerrant, 100% God breathed.

It is the very word of God. How many of you still believe

that? Let let me make this easy.

How many of you don't believe that?

Because if you're going to have a hard time hearing anything

that I say today. Because we based everything that

we teach, we based everything that we believe.

We based everything that we live here on the principle of sola

Scripture, Scripture alone. We believe that Scripture alone

is the word of God. And Scripture alone dictates how

we live our lives, how we conduct our business, how we

worship, how we handle our affairs, even in this world.

So we turn to Scripture today and Scripture alone as we see

the call for godly women. Call for godly women.

Now, I told the men prior to this when we were praying case

you guys don't know this. There's men's prayer immediately

prior to the service out in the foyer.

For all you men who would desire to pray for us before the

service, we'd love to have you. We were out there and I let them

know we're going to be talking about the call for godly women

today. Now don't think for a second

that you guys are off the hook because we're preaching, because

it is your duty as men to lead them, and yes, even to lead them

in godliness as a godly woman, to teach them the scriptures, to

know the scriptures so you can teach them the scriptures so

that they can be the women that God desires them to be.

So you do have a role in this that we won't look at your

direct role to their direct role.

In hearing the call to be godly women.

First Timothy, chapter 2, verse 8.

1 Timothy 2:8

Paul says, I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer

without anger or disputing. I I read that as I said a moment

ago to remind you of the context was calling on the church to

pray and to pray for specifically lost people, the

unbelieving. And he tells the man, here's

your role to lift up holy hands, right?

Who can ascend the hill of the Lord?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, He's saying, be of

pure conscience and of pure hands, lifting up those hands in

prayer without any anger or dispute, nonsense aside.

And then he's going to say this in verse 9.

I also want, he says likewise, I have some commands for the

women. I have a call for women and a

call that they need to hear and a call that they need to follow.

I also modestly with decency and propriety, not with braided hair

or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds

appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

Verse 11, it says a woman should learn in quietness and full

support. I do not permit a woman to teach

or to have authority over a man. She must be silent.

Again, he's talking about in the congregation in the assembly of

the Saints. He says for Adam was formed 1st

and then Eve and Adam was not the one deceived, it was the

woman who was deceived. But women will be saved through

childbearing if they continue in faith.

Love and holiness with propriety.

Let's pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus.

We thank you for your word. We thank you that it is true.

We thank you that culture is a man made thing.

Philosophy is both culture and philosophy could be full of

errors. And untruths and deception.

The Lord, we know that Your word is true and infallible and

inerrant. There is not one error in your

teaching. God, I pray today that You give

us by Your Spirit, with minds willing lives to obey.

Your word over culture, over the philosophies and the ideologies

of man. That we would obey Your word and

that we would bring glory to you in doing so, as you've called us

to do. Both men and women alike, we

pray and we ask things in Christ's name.

Amen. Now, I told you immediately as I

began my intro just a moment ago, that this is one of the

clearest passages in all of the New Testament, and I do believe

that. But that doesn't mean that it

comes without some difficulty. Right?

About verse 15. You saw the difficulty did

because from verse 9 all the way to verse 14, it was pretty plain

and simple the things that he taught.

But verse 15 takes a different turn when we kind of scratch our

head and we asked the question, what does it mean that women

will be saved through childbearing?

Now let me tell you this. You're not the first person who

got the question. So what I'm going to do is,

though I'm going to cover 9 through 15 today, I want to

start with 15, and I want to tell you what I believe that

verse 15 is saying so that nine through 14 will make sense as we

walk through the rest of this passage.

There are many people who say that when we read that text

there in verse 9, want women to dress modestly with decency and

propriety and braided hair, gold pearls, expensive clothes.

And he goes on and tells him what he wants and then he drops

to 15 and says, but women will be saved through childbearing.

Many people will say this, and this is 1 view.

This is a view that that I strongly disagree with.

This is the view that says women will be saved from the curse of

sin through literal childbirth, meaning this.

They interpret this to say when man fell to sin, man was cursed

and part of the curse that fell upon women.

And this is true. They will have childbirth.

And there are schools of thought that say women will be saved

because they are willing to endure the pain of childhood.

Now that would mean it's the women who have more children and

endure more pain. They're more holy, they're more

saved. Well, the problem with this is I

hope you immediate it from what we preach here all the time that

we are justified by grace alone, through faith alone and Christ

alone. If he's talking about salvation

and saying that a woman is going to be saved simply because she

has children, that would be a work, wouldn't it?

That would be no salvation at all.

And so that's a a school of thought that very quickly I can

throw out and say, because this would contradict everything that

the Apostle Paul told elsewhere in Scripture about being saved

by grace through faith and that alone.

The second view is this, and I find this view very interesting.

And I'll tell you this, there are many reformers who held on

to this view. Now what I really believe about

the next, the second view is that it was possibly a holdover

from Catholic interpretation. This is something that they just

didn't reform from the reformers.

And it says this, it says that women will be saved by child

bearing with this specific thing in mind, and I want you to talk

this through with me, that yes, a woman named Eve LED men into

sin, but a woman named Mary through birthings of Christ will

lead people out of sin, Barry actually, and her birth will

lead to the saving of souls. Now let me tell you this.

That's true 100%. But I don't think that's what

Paul is saying here, even though the reformers would say, but

it's fulfilling Genesis 315 and Genesis 3:15, if you're not

Genesis 3:15

familiar. That is the promise of the

Messiah who would come, who though the serpent would strike

his heel, he would crush his head.

And So what many people would do is they interpret this verse 15

in saying that women are going to find the redemption in the

fact that a woman, a virgin named Mary, bore a son and his

name is Christ. And of course, we find

redemption nowhere else other than Christ.

However, the reason that I can't take that view and accept that

view, though that view theologically would be

considered true. I don't think that's what Paul

is saying here because he is in the context about a woman

singular. He's talking about women in the

plural. He's talking about those women

who are already followers of Christ because he is addressing

the church and he is addressing how we are to worship the Lord.

And so he's not talking about Mary singular.

He's actually talking about women in the plural.

So then what is he saying? What what is a good

interpretation of this? And I think we find it the third

view as in my opinion, the most appropriate.

And because of my, it's my opinion, 100% correct.

Why? Simply because it's my opinion.

Just like if your opinion was your opinion, you would be right

until proven wrong. But I think that if we put it in

its context, and this is very important, you, you do know

this, right? The three most important things

in interpreting script, context and context.

Don't ever forget that. And so as we look at this in its

context, I think he is addressing a group of women and

and in fact specifically a group of believing women at Ephesus.

And so he is teaching them something.

What is he teaching them? Well, I think we here, when we

automatically assume, because we see in English the term saved,

that he's talking about salvation.

I don't think that he's talking about salvation at all.

Why? Because he's addressing women

that are already professing, as we will see in a moment to

follow God. He's addressing profession now.

I don't think he's talking about saved at all, though.

I think he is talking about redemption in a sense.

And he's talking about redemption as far as a woman's

usefulness to God and His plan for women, despite the fact that

they were deceived in the Garden, LED mankind into sin and

into chaos. So I believe that this verse 15

teaches us that women will be saved or redeemed from the

stigma of being the ones who let all of us into this Mass.

And we can quickly see how that would be a stigma.

In fact, traditionally up until this point that Paul makes this

address, it was a stigma in the Jewish culture and in Jewish

worship, women could not ship in the same area as men.

But Paul is saying this, there is still redemption for women in

the fact that yes, they do have this stigma of leading all of

mankind into sin, but they will also be used by God to lead

their children out of sin. So he's saying they will find

redemption in the children that they produce and that they

nurture and that they admonish in the Lord.

He's saying this that women have a role, and the role has not

ceased simply because they were the the enemy used to deceive

mankind into falling into sin. There is hope.

Yet still for them now, I feel that this is the right

interpretation because of the context, not only of what we're

seeing here in First Timothy chapter 2, but the context of

1 Timothy 2 · chapter mention

everything that testament and in the Word of God throughout its

entirety. So now that I have established

that right, that most difficult thing, everything else about

this from verse 9 all the way to verse 15 ought to be crystal

clear thing that we read and something that we say, OK,

that's not hard to understand. God is calling women to be

godly. He is calling each and everyone

of you in this room who professed Jesus Christ as Lord

and Savior. He is calling you to be godly so

that the next generation will be redeemed because of the

influence of their mothers. Well, so many times a mother's

role gets downplayed, doesn't it?

Can I say this just specifically about my family?

My children are now grown and have children of their.

Own. And though I spent as much time

as I could with my children when they were growing up, the time

that I spent with my children is minuscule compared to the time

that my wife spent with my children.

People wonder all the time. They ask me, Kirk, aren't you so

thankful how your children turn out?

Yes. Then they asked me this

question. What did you do?

I will tell you this. I attempted to pastor my wife to

the best of my ability because I knew how important her role was

in teaching our children. I was not going to let her live

with the stigma like Eve leading others into sin.

No, you have been redeemed from that stigma and you're in

Christ. You have a great responsibility

to raise up the next generation in a godly fashion.

And I'm, I'm here to help you any way that I can and to

compliment your role as a godly woman.

That's the answer. I tell them, go talk to Brandy.

If it would have been up to me, I would have messed things up,

but I'm thankful that somewhere along the line she read the Word

of God and determined in her heart and her mind through the

power and persuasion of the Holy Spirit to be the godly woman

that she is today. What is a godly woman?

What does it mean to be called to be godly in this passage?

This is what we see, and I don't want you to lose sight of the

truth here because of all the controversy surrounding it.

The controversy is quite silly. It is cutting and it is clear.

So let's approach it today as such.

First, if you're taking notes, write this down.

Godly women are called to adorn themselves in godliness.

Watch what Paul does here. You ladies are going to like

this. He starts with your wardrobe.

He does. He is going to.

To you Christian women in this room, that it is so important

how you dress in your apparel, what you wear, you say, well,

what? Yes, watch what he says.

I also want women to dress modestly.

Now he just said, I want men to lift up holy hands in prayer.

And here's an important thing for women.

I want you to dress modestly. I want women to dress modestly.

When you come into the congregation to dress modestly

with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or

pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds appropriate for

women who profess to worship God, He said.

You're professing believers, and as a professing and believing

woman, he attention to this pay. Attention to what you wear.

Many people would say he's making a parallel.

He's not yet he will in a moment.

What he's going to do, he's going to establish the

importance of a godly woman's apparel, the way you physically

dress. He describes it for us.

In fact, he takes great detail to describe it.

Of course, he says first modestly.

What does that mean? Well, to be modest means to not

be elaborate or sensual. He's telling women to refuse to

dress overly elaborate and refuse to dress overtly sexual.

Yes, this does have a sexual connotation.

When he says modest, what he's saying is that if you are

dressing in order to draw attention by the way you dress

of women or the attention of men, and you ladies know this,

you do both. I joke with my wife all the time

and I, I, I laugh and I say women dress to impress women

because baby, I really don't care.

I think you look really cute and no makeup and sweats and a ball

cap because I see her true beauty.

True beauty is not found in those things and I have grown in

the Lord enough to realize that. Now she thinks I'm crazy when I

say that. But ladies, let me tell you,

when your husband says that, he means that he is trying.

That those things have nothing to do with truly being a godly

woman. He says dressed modestly.

It's important that we learn this.

Why? So we can teach this, right

ladies? Anyone here seen a homecoming

picture or a prom picture? Lately.

I'm going to be honest with you, I have to get past them and

shame most of the time. There's a lot of times when on

social media these things are posted, I wonder are they going

to a homecoming or a prom or are they somewhere in Vegas trying

to earn a little extra money? He said.

What does that have to do with women?

They learned it from somewhere or someone who should be in an

authority in their life and a teacher in their life is

allowing it to happen first. Dad, that's your responsibility.

You tell mom no, she can't buy that dress.

I don't care how mad mom gets at you.

She needs to cover herself up. Why?

Because that's what godly women do.

We're teaching her to be a godly woman.

We are not teaching her to be a prostitute.

You can just go on and buckle your seat belt.

We're going to talk about things today that they don't usually

talk about modestly, not overly elaborate nor overtly sexual.

Isn't it interesting that in our pornography driven culture our

styles have also become overly sexual?

Girls dressed the way an addicted young male counterparts

desire for them to dress moms. It's your job to put a stop to

it. How do you do that?

By the way you dress your apparel modestly.

He then goes on and he says with decency.

This takes another turn. Decency here is very interesting

because you know what it means. Reverence, Reverence and

reverence belongs to the Lord. He is actually telling the women

at Ephesus dress modestly. And dress worshipfully.

Time asking yourself this question, is what I'm wearing

something that would bring honor to God?

Is it something that is reverent?

I know we don't talk about reverence a lot anymore in the

church because we're real confused about what it means.

The ladies, I want to encourage you to be reverent in how you

dress humbly and gracefully. Can I help all of the aging

women in this room stop trying to be young, be reverent, be

humble, and be graceful. There is nothing more than an

older woman who dresses. And carries herself.

Gracefully and humbly out of reverence for the Lord and honor

for her husband. He says decency.

Seek to glorify God even in how you dress.

This would be crazy wouldn't instead of it just being the

latest style. So I buy it.

Lord, is this appropriate? Is this appropriate for one of

your children to wear in the assembly, for one of your

children to wear out in public? Now let me help you.

If it is tied and it is showing every curve of your body, or it

is so loose that it is showing all the things that no one but

your husband ought to see, you don't even have to pray that

prayer. You can just write it down.

It is not modest and it is not decent.

It's not reverent unto the Lord. But then he doesn't stop there

and he says and propriety says so much.

When we get down to the original meaning, it means soundness of

mind and self controlled. Ladies, are you of sound mind

and of self-control? When you dress yourself, are you

just doing what you do because fashion says do it?

That's not sound mind. Let's do it.

That's not sound mind. Are you just doing it because

you want to do it? That's not self-control, that's

you actually being out of control and being led by your

emotions and your feelings. We'll talk more about that in a

moment. The soundness of mine and self

controlled in our apparel. Ladies, please pay attention to

this. It means thinking of others when

you dress, considering other people, considering the example

that you're leaving or considering the lust of that

you're causing. Considering the example that

you're leaving or the lust of that you're causing.

Other people view what I am wearing.

You need to ask yourself this question.

How Will Young ladies see me? Will Young ladies see me hip,

cool and stylish? That's not the objective.

Well, others see me as sexy, sensual.

Those are questions that you must ask in our culture that is

designing women's clothing to be sexual and sensual.

Yeah. It's a question we don't find

ourselves asking as women much of the time.

Ask yourself, who calls to stumble by my apparel?

You say, What do you mean? I mean this when you come into

the congregation and you walk past someone else's husband and

you are dressed in a way that draws sexual attention to

yourself, but you just enabled him to do.

You enabled him to commit. Adultery in his mind when he

lusted after you because you left nothing to the imagination.

What about when you walk down the hall and that young girl

says I want she looks up to you and she she sees you

accentuating your body parts in a sensual or sexual way.

Do you not think that you've caused that young 1 to stumble

Here's what Jesus says about this.

You can take it or leave it. I pray that you would take it.

Matthew 18 verse six. He says if anyone causes one of

these little. Do you believe in me to stumble?

It would be better for them to have a large millstone hung

around their neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Woe to the world because of the things that caused people to

stumble. Such things must come.

But woe to the person through whom they come.

Ladies, hear this woe. They come through you.

Your hand or your foot causes you to stumble.

Cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter

life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet to be

thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to

stumble, gouge it out and throw it away.

It's better for you to enter life with one eye than to have

two eyes and to be thrown into the Most of the time we get to

that last part of the Scripture and we we just focus on that.

But the whole meaning of the Scripture is this.

Don't cause others to stumble because if you give no regard to

others, it reveals your true heart.

You are still self-centered, self controlled emotions and

desires and. So you got to think of others

when you dress, refusing to put self desire over others over

what it may cause them to do. Yes, you may look good.

You may even look and feel sexy in that because you ladies know

what I'm talking about, right? When when you go to that

important thing and you put on that dress that you've never

worn before and you look in the mirror, mirror and you know that

you do look sexy in that love you Sexy is OK for your husband

at home in the confines of your own bedroom.

It's not OK in the congregation. Amen.

It's not OK in the congregation. I don't care if it is the style,

Go against the style. Create new styles.

We need them. It's not for the congregation.

Why? Because in doing so, you were

going to cause little ones who are here to worship the Lord,

whether that's little ones as the children or as little ones

in faith in Christ, you are going to cause them to stumble.

And he says it's better for you to have a millstone tied around

your neck and thrown into the sea.

I didn't make that up. That's red.

If you have a red letter edition, that's Christ.

What message are you sending to others?

Who are you causing to sin? Philippians chapter 2 says this.

Philippians 2 · chapter mention

It says in verse 3, do nothing out of selfish ambition or

vacancy. That means don't dress out of

selfish ambition or vain conceit or anything else rather than

humans above yourselves, not looking to your own interests,

but each of you to the interests of the others.

Ladies, let me just help you out.

The pornography industry in our culture is a multi billion

dollar industry. Even before the pornography

industry happened, men first. Why?

Because men are visual creatures.

They are excited by the things that they see.

Don't cause them to stumble by being ungodly in the way that

you approach your apparel, he says.

Modestly decent. With propriety, soundness of

mind, thinking of others, putting others above yourself,

asking yourself this question. Could that that I'm wearing

'cause someone else to slip off into sin?

Be it vanity for that woman who admired, or be it lust for that

young man who's looking at me and gazing upon me in an

inappropriate way. Or that husband who's committed

and devote himself to be true and loyal to another woman who

sits here in this congregation together.

Yet by your dress you catch his eye.

It's not I that you are intended to catch.

That's his wife's job. You see the problem here, I hope

though it may be old fashioned in many people's eyes, and it

is. It's 2000 years old, but it's

still 100% applicable today and in the church.

Godly women are adorning themselves in godliness, their

apparel, he says. I I also want women to dress

modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair

or gold or pearls or expensive clothes.

Here's what he's going to do. He moves from apparel to

accents. We know we all have to accent

everything, don't we? The Roman culture there, the

same braided hair, jewelry and all the things they had to have

them so that they fit the fashion that was going on there

in that culture that was surrounded around Artemis, the

false goddess. So he addresses accents.

What is he talking about here? Is he specifically gold pearls?

Is it wrong for you to braid your hair?

Is it wrong for you to color your hair?

Is it wrong for you to have hair?

Is it wrong for you to have jewelry?

No, he's not saying that at all. Is it wrong for you to wear

makeup? No, Please do.

He's not saying any of those things.

What he is doing is he is saying don't fall into the trap of

needless elaborations, needless enhancements.

Paul's not saying that you shouldn't fix your hair or wear

jewelry. He's saying women shouldn't use

these things to draw undue attention to themselves and away

from God when they come in. No, not to be a man in here

who's struggling when we're singing songs to Jesus about

focusing on the Lord and what he's done.

There ought not to be a man in here who's who's struggling with

focusing on that because you wear your clothes too tight or

you wear your clothes too loose. Whatever the case may be, That's

exactly what he's saying. And then he takes it a step

further and he says, and also don't add to it these needless

elaborations that don't mean anything.

This culture was being inundated with this, as you can tell from

the context. He mentions many things that are

nothing but elaborations and enhancements.

Paul didn't want Christian women to devote time to devote, to

devote energy to the fashions of the day and only draw attention

to the woman and away from God. Now the good thing is in our

culture. We don't struggle with this at

all. There's no danger in our culture

trap of extras and elaborations or enhancements, right?

No, that's sarcasm as intended. I'll tell you how dangerous it

is in our culture annually in the United States of America.

People spend $4 billion on Botox and facial fillers, $4 billion

to trick someone into thinking that they're not.

Really wrinkled under all that annually in the US. 1.4 to 1.6

billion dollars of revenue on breast augmentations and

liposuctions. That's not reconstructive after

breast cancer, that's just enhancements.

That's just add on operations because I guess you weren't

content with what? God had given you it wasn't

impressive enough. 8 to 10 billion on unneeded cosmetic

surgery. By that, well, you didn't get in

a car wreck and half your face get knocked off in the accident

and you had to have reconstructive surgery and a

face rebuilt. That's not what I'm talking

about here. It's things you didn't need.

Well, you saw some influencer on social media who had a nose that

wasn't like your nose and you really like their nose.

So you took place and said, I want their nose.

They said OK, I specialize in noses here, I'll give you a new

nose. I can tell you this, I've

watched one episode of Botched and that was enough for me to

never kind of enhancement or some kind of elaborate change in

my face, right? If this wasn't Botched enough,

ladies are spending billions. Of dollars on needless

elaborations and enhancements in our country, 17 to $18 billion a

year on cosmetic surgeries and alterations that do nothing but

draw attention to that person who is desiring attention.

Godly women are to adorn them and godly apparel modestly,

decently, with propriety. Their accent, their dress.

Not with needless elaborations or enhancements.

Now I know. What was it wrong to wear

earrings? No, wear earrings.

But if you're wearing hubcaps to draw attention to yourself,

that's another he's talking about going beyond reasonable

for the mere desire to draw attention to yourself.

Why is that important? Woman of God, listen to me.

If you're drawing attention to yourself, you're not where it

belongs to the Lord. That's why he takes it a step

further. Now he makes this parallel.

He said instead of being dressed with immodest clothes and

undecent clothes and clothes that show you have no soundness

to mind or self-control. Or acts aberrant, right then

nobody even believes they're real, right?

4 inch eyelashes? Nobody's buying it.

Lips that make you look like Howard the Duck.

If you're a kid from the 80s, sorry you missed it.

Don't go watch it. It's pre Christ.

He now makes the parallel and he says this but with good deeds

appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

He says don't worry about these outward things.

As much as you worry about what comes out of your life, inside

of your life, this is the proper display of beauty.

Paul's going to teach that instead of putting so much

effort and so much time and so much energy and so much money

into drawing attention to yourself so your girlfriends

will say, oh girl, you look good on Facebook.

They're lying. They just want you to lie.

They post something, figure it out.

He says adorn yourself of godly action.

Godly woman should draw attention not to herself but to

God. First Peter, chapter 3, verse 3.

1 Peter 3:3

It says your beauty. Should not come from outward

adornment, such as elaborate of gold jewelry or fine clothes.

Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading

beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth

in God's sight. Who are you trying to please?

Who are you trying to impress? Peter saying almost verbatim

teaching here. He's saying this.

Live your life to impress the Lord.

We're going to see why in just a moment.

Showing your actions, your service to Him, bringing him

glory by being clothed, not as the world is clothed.

With styles and fashions and sensuality and sexuality would

be the service that bring glory to your heavenly Father.

This is a common analogy that Paul uses in Colossians.

He uses clothing again to make this point.

He says in chapter 3 of Colossians verse 12.

Therefore, is God's chosen people wholly and dearly loved.

Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, gentleness

and patience, ladies. You'll be dressed in a way that

honors God. Clothe yourself with these

things. Bear with each other and forgive

one another. And any if any of you has a

grievance against someone, forgive as the Lord forgave you.

And over all these virtues, put on love which binds them.

What is he saying? Clothe yourself in godliness.

Make that a priority. Let that outshine any earrings

you would wear, any braided hair that you may have, any style

that you may purchase. Let the glory of God and service

to Him outshine all those things in your life so that when people

see you, they don't see. It's important.

So may the women here who are hearing my voice and hearing the

word of God this morning adorn themselves in godliness and not

as the world chooses to adorn themselves.

Secondly. Godly women are not only to

adorn themselves in godliness, they are to avoid usurping God's

order. Pay attention, attention to what

he says in this context. He says a woman should learn in

quietness, in full submission. He didn't say kind of

submission, half hearted submission, pretend submission,

full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach

her to have authority over a man.

Be silent. For Adam was formed first, then

Eve. Now I know what the people who

come against this passage of Scripture try to say.

This is where they say Kirk. That was just for Ephesus

because of the influence of Diana or or or who is otherwise

known as Artemis. That is just talking to Ephesus.

Let me make this very clear. This is talking to any culture

and any church that would usurp God's order and God's authority.

You know how I know that? That's why I read verse 8 for

you. That would be like saying men

lifting holy hands in prayer was limited to just Ephesus and

there's no need for us to do the same anymore, right guys?

No, absolutely not. That's foolish.

But it's only this particular part of this passage where we

try to say, oh, this is just written in light of Artemis.

That was Artemis influential? You bet.

Was Artemis worship influential? Did it affect the culture?

Yes. Did it affect women?

Absolutely. The same thing would be written

to a culture that had no Artemis but still struggled with the

same thing because he's speaking it to our culture even this day.

Paul's not calling women ignorant.

You know how I know that? He said a woman should learn.

He wants you to learn. It says here's the way that you

are to learn in the congregation.

He wants you to learn. That's great news.

Why? Because the women of the Old

Testament weren't even permitted to learn.

They didn't even come into the same courts as the men for

worship to learn as the men were.

He's saying you're in there, you're assembly, you're

assembled, you're an assembly and you have the right now and

the duty to learn. So he's not saying to be

ignorant and unlearned. He's not saying to be silent,

barefoot, pregnant in the kitchen.

He's not talking about the kitchen at all.

He's referring. To the assembly, he's referring

to an assembly just like this, who has joined together on the

Lord's Day to worship and honor the Lord.

And he is saying to them that you are to learning quietness

and full submission to your husband.

Quietness and full submission to the male leadership and

authority in that first to your husband.

And then to those male pastors and elders who direct the

affairs of the church and who teach the word of God.

This is the way that it has always been throughout church

history. Again, it wasn't into the last

100 years that this has even been a topic for debate or not

to exercise speaking gifts and leadership gifts in positions of

authority in the Congregation of the Saints.

For those of you who would say that's just for Ephesus to the

Corinthian church, First Corinthians chapter 14.

On the subject of speaking gifts in the congregation and

instructions on orderly worship, here's what Paul instructs to.

He says for God is not a God of disorder verse 33, but it's but

of peace and then he says. As in all the congregations of

the Lord's people. This is the way it is throughout

belong to Jesus Christ? Raise your hand.

Just a congregation of the Lord's people.

All right, here's what he says. Women should remain silent in

the churches. Is he saying that you shouldn't

talk to your friends in the hallway?

No, he's talking about the context of speaking and teaching

leadership. He said women should remain

signed and the churches there, but must be in submission as the

law says. What is he doing?

He's going all the way back to the Old Testament to remind you

of what Paul is reminding the church.

Here at Alpha. System Timothy.

He says that they want to inquire about something.

They should ask their own husbands at home.

I know husband, it's time for you to freak out.

But what if I don't know the answer?

Open your answer and start pastoring your home like you

should do. I need to say that again.

Open your Bibles. Study to show yourself a Workman

who is approved rightly dividing the word of truth.

Why? Because you are the pastor of

your home. Your wife's depending on you.

I told you, men, they can't be the godly women they need to be

until you devote yourself to being the godly man that you

need to be. If they want to inquire about

something, they should ask their own husbands at home, for it is

it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Now let me remind you that was not inundated with the teachings

of Artemis. The following of Artemis that

was to the Corinthian. Church and there at the

Corinthian church, he says, and this applies to all the

congregations of the Saints, meaning this this applies to key

life fellowship right now in 2026.

And for anybody to tell you anything else is to sub.

The Word of God, and to pervert the word of God before your very

eyes. Don't fall for it.

These roles always have and always will be reserved for men.

He's not giving them any new teaching.

Here he says a woman should learn in quietness and full

submission teacher to have authority over men, she must be

silent. Why he gives you the answer.

For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

What is he doing? He's going all the way back to

the law, just as he said. In First Corinthians chapter 14,

he's going back to the Torah and he is saying this.

Remember back in Genesis what happened.

Now what happened? God created things in a certain

way, and he goes back and he says even creation.

Tells us that. What he's saying is this, that

women must avoid usurping God's authority.

Why? First of all, because his

authority and this authority that he's established in the

church is God himself by his word throughout time, throughout

culture. This is not an Ephesian command,

as I've already I hope made that point, as many even liberal

evangelicals will claim, but it is the very word of God.

First Corinthians 11, verse three, it says this, but I want

you to realize that the head of every man is Christ in the head

of the and the head of Christ is God.

Do you see the order there? Don't get that out of whack.

Don't lose sight of that. There's a purpose for that.

It's God's design you're going to see in a moment, and it's for

a reason. And ladies, your role as a

woman, as we will see in a moment, is a beautiful role and

a but you can't fulfill your role if you are usurping God's

order in the church and in the home, or even both.

Because usually in generally it works that way.

The one who tries to usurp the authority in the church is also

trying to usurp the authority in the home.

Funny how that always goes hand in hand First Peter chapter 3 If

you don't believe it's the word of God lives in the same way,

submit yourself to your own husbands so that if any of them

do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by

the behavior of their wives dressed in godliness when they

see the purity and. Reverence of your lives.

What is he saying? If you got an unbelieving

husband, you know what you ought not to do.

You ought not to nag him to death about coming to church

with you. You ought not to nag trying to

cram the gospel down his throat. You know what you ought to do.

Clothe yourself in godliness, stop nagging Him, and live a

virtuous and reverent life before him.

And you know what? God tells us that's going to get

his attention. Why?

Because God has designed us as men to have a run when someone

is godly before eyes, especially a female.

That's why. When men are young, you know

what they do when they're looking for a girlfriend?

They go out to where all the people are partying when they

sit. Down they start looking for a

wife. You know where they come to.

Church. True story.

Why? Because there's nothing more

alluring to us than a woman of virtue.

Why? Because she's hard to find.

Is that not what Proverbs 31 tells us?

Who can find someone like this? It's not an easy catch.

So wives be that kind of wives because it's designated by God

to do so. He says this.

Sure, to teach the women to be self controlled and pure, to be

busy at home, to be kind and to be subject to their husbands.

Why? We saw it in our scripture

reading. So that no one will malign the

word of God. What is He?

Talking about so that no one will say that create of whack in

your home. They won't say things like this.

She tells him what pants to wear, or in fact, he might even

be wearing her pants. Maybe she ought to give him his

pants back. We know that there are many

other illustrations that are used.

Why? Because the very Word of God

teaches us that a woman is not to have authority over a man.

Not in the home and not in the church because it's defined by

creation order. This is what Paul goes to for

Adam was he wants you to understand the order of the way

things happen. In case you forgot this order

was not post fall. Don't don't think that this

order happened just because man and women fell into sin.

This is pre fall. This is at creation.

This is the order that God established.

Adam was formed 1st and then Eve.

You don't believe me? Turning 2 and we'll look at it.

Says this in verse. 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in

the Garden of Eden to work it and care and take care of it,

And the Lord God commanded the man.

You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must

not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for

when you eat from it, you will certainly not die before there

was ever an Eve. I want you to pay attention to

this, because you know what happened in the Garden when

mankind fell into sin. Woman.

Usurped the authority of man. And man usurped the authority of

God. Watch this from the tree of the

knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it, you will

certainly die. Verse 18.

The Lord God said, It is not good for man to be alone, I will

make a suitable helper for him. Now the Lord God had formed out

of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the

sky, and he brought them to the man to see what he would name

them. And whatever the man creature,

that was its name. So the man gave names to all the

livestock, the birds in the sky, and all the wild animals.

But for Adam no suitable help helper was found.

So the Lord God calls the man to fall into a deep sleep, and

while he was sleeping he took one of the man's ribs and then

closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a he had

taken out of the man and he brought her to the man and the

man said he got to name her. This says he did all of the rest

of God's creation. And the man said, this is now

bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.

She shall be called was taken out of man fast.

Forward here to Ephesus here in the letter of First Timothy.

Paul reminds them, he reminds the ladies there that Adam was

formed first, then Eve. This is the creative order.

This is what God intended. Basic creation order defines for

us the order of God in the relationship of men and women,

both in the home and in the church.

They are always a direct reflection of one another.

And so to our liberal do. This.

We mustn't rewrite scripture just to fit your agenda.

Because when we take them back to Genesis chapter 2, you know

I mean, how realistic is it that that God would open up man's

side and he would create a woman from that?

So let's just completely right. So now we got Genesis One

through 11. Let's erase it.

believe. If all doesn't let us do that,

he says go back to Genesis 2 and you see the order.

The roles are defined by God and we are not to usurp God's order

that He has set in place. This has been designated by God

and His Word over and over again.

It's defined by creation order, and when you see the beauty of

it is depicting the relationship of Christ and the church, it is

depicting the relationship of Christ in the church, and

there's no more beautiful relationship in all of creation.

Just as the wife submits to her husband, so the church submits

to Christ. And oh, what benefits the church

receives from wives. If you will learn this, when you

submit to your husbands as unto the Lord, you will reap great

benefits that you never could have imagined.

You will be blessed by God for your obedience and you will be

blessed by your husband when he sees it in submissive spirit and

he knows that that didn't come from you because he knows what

you are in your flesh. He will quickly say that is a

work of God. You know what you'll do.

You'll cause your husband to worship.

He'll thank God for the work that God has done in his wife.

What a beautiful picture the submissive wife get eject when

properly understood and when she doesn't continue to try to usurp

authority. Ephesians 5 verse 22, it says

Ephesians 5:22

Wives submit to yourselves. To your own husband's.

As you do to the Lord, he says, just like that full submission.

For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ, as the head

of the Church, his body, what she is the Savior.

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should

submit to their husbands in everything.

This is not just talking about sexual submission as many people

have tried to make it. Submit to your husband's in

everything. But what if he's not things?

He's going to give an account to the Lord, and so will you for

not submitting to Him. Pay attention to what the Word

of God teaches. There is a reason Ephesians

Ephesians 5 · chapter mention

chapter 5 is not teaching us about the family, about the

roles of men and women in the church.

It's teaching us about the church.

The given here was the fact that people already understood

biblically that the husband is the head, the leader of the

wife, and the wife is to take a submissive and complimentary

complimentary role to him. That they are to work together

to bring glory to God as one flan.

So see it. See it for what it is.

Stop fighting your fleshly desires to fit into the liberal

culture of the day. Surrender to the call to be a

godly woman, resisting your flesh, your urges to usurp God's

authority. Do you know this after the fall

that this was the way it was going to be?

He said that wives would desire their husbands.

He didn't mean to desire them sexually or sensually.

What he meant was to desire their leadership position.

Don't continue to walk in your follow your fallen name.

Attempting to usurp the authority and order of God.

Submit to God today and display that by submitting not only to

your husband, submitting in the congregation to the role that

God has for women even in the church.

Lastly, we've seen godly themselves in godliness to avoid

usurping God's authority in His order, but godly women are to

accept their God ordained role. You are to put these shoes on,

take your husband's shoes off, let him have them.

You put yours on, you accept your God ordained role.

Here's what he said it is he says verse 14, and Adam was not

the one deceived. It was the woman who was

deceived and became a Sinner, right?

We talked about the stigma earlier, boy, that put a stigma

on women, the ones who are easily deceived and fall into

sin and lead others into sin. Is that not what happened?

Yes, it is what happened. When they assume their God

ordained role here it is, but women will be saved through

childbearing if they continue in faith, love and holiness with

propriety. Paul here is calling Christian

women to accept their God-given roles.

He makes this point that even though Eve was deceived and

ultimately LED all of mankind into sin because she was

deceived by the serpent. God still has a role.

God still has a plan for her in his Kingdom.

God still has a plan of redemption for woman is to raise

godly children. You as godly women in this room,

you ought to accept that role no matter what culture wants to

tell you. Culture is going to tell you

this. You have to have two incomes,

you have to have success, you have, you have to be somebody,

you have to use the degree your parents paid for it, for crying

out loud. Or you might still be paying for

it, but God says there's no shame in accepting your God

ordained role. Godly woman whose objective in

life is to glorify God by. Teaching the next generation how

to glorify God. First, I want you to see this.

You're to accept your God ordained role even as those who

are the weaker vessel just all the time.

When you say the woman is the weaker vessel, you need to

understand that that's what Paul is saying here when he says Adam

was not the one deceived. It was the woman who was

deceived and became a Sinner. He's making very clear as to why

she is the weaker vessel back first Peter chapter 3 verse 7

1 Peter 3:7

tells us that husbands in the same way, be considerate as you

live with your wives as the weaker partner.

What does he mean by calling them a weaker partner?

He's not saying that they are inferior to man.

Everybody understand that. Don't leave here today and

accuse Kirk Hall of saying that that women are inferior to men.

They're not inferior. They have a different but a

God-given role. Part of that means accepting the

fact that they. Are a weaker vessel.

No, they're not inferior to men spiritually or in their

relationship to Christ. That would violate Galatians

Galatians 3 · chapter mention

chapter 3. Neither male nor female, nor Jew

nor Greek. We're all the same in Christ.

That's not what I'm saying at all.

But what I am saying is emotionally and physically,

women are weaker by nature. No matter.

Watch this. No matter what the transgender

movement might be trying to say in the court system right now,

that a man really has no advantage athletically.

Over a woman. Is that so?

I've made this challenge every time that I have preached this

passage of Scripture. I will make it again.

Any woman in this room right now who wants to arm wrestle me

right here, I'm willing. Now come on, I'm a four eyed,

Gray haired old man. But you know this.

I have this to my advantage. I'm a male and generally

speaking, I'm not saying that there's not a woman who couldn't

beat me in arm wrestling. I'm saying there's not a woman

here who's fool enough to even step up to the challenge

because, you know, that percentage says I'm going to

beat you. Now, I am thankful that every

time I make that challenge, no one steps up.

Same thing to me in all the world, as if a woman beat me on

the pulpit arm wrestling. But I say this to make a point.

Women are generally the weaker vessel and physical strength and

emotional, no matter what anyone else wants to say.

And the context points to this fact that women were and still

are easily deceived by their feeling, by their emotions, by

their flesh. They're more vulnerable

emotionally. They're less logical than men.

We know this to be true just by very nature.

But yet we still let the liberal voices try to get us to

question. This is not up for debate.

Women are the weaker vessel and they need to accept their role

as the weaker vessel, not an inferior vessel.

They are that flower that we see growing out in the flower bed,

beautiful and colorful, of great worth compared to that rock

laying on the ground. That would be the male.

But yet that same rock could inadvertently crush that

beautiful and delicate flower. They are the weaker vessel.

Know that. Know that going into this,

ladies and roll. Why?

Because when you admit your weakness, you'll depend upon

God's strength. When you admit your weakness,

you'll depend upon the strength and the rationale of your

husband, and you won't depend upon your feelings and your

emotions. Because we know this, don't we?

Ladies? Let's just be honest.

They are ever wavering. And Paul's making that case was

Eve that was deceived, and she was deceived by her feelings,

her emotions. She saw the fruit, it looked

good, she touched it, it felt good, and she ate it and it

tastes good. Total impulse, right?

None of you women was on have you Sheen total impulse see

yourselves as those who are the weaker vessel if you're going to

accept your God ordained role. Secondly, though you see

yourself as the weaker vessel. I want you also to see yourself

as those of great worth and value.

See that important word there in verse 15?

But but the women are the weaker vessel because they come from

Eve and they are easily deceived and they are LED astray by their

feelings and their emotions. But the woman was deceived by

Satan in the garden. Women still have great worth and

value in the Kingdom of God. What is that worth and value?

Well, it's what the world will tell you not to find your worth

in. They'll say don't find your

worth. Don't don't find your worth and

just being a mom. No ladies find your worth there

because that is where you find the worth that God gives you.

They are a vessel that God uses to point the next generation to

new birth in Christ. They are God used to bring that

child, one of his elect, into this.

World so that they could hear the gospel from from someone

none other than their mother, so that they could believe and so

that they could be saved and so that they could be cleansed of

all their sin and have the hope of eternal life.

That you don't have a role. Of great worth and value.

You should view child rearing as the highest calling that a woman

could ever have in this life. You shouldn't be upset when I

say things like you shouldn't be a pastor as a woman.

You should remain congregation if I give you the rest of it.

But what you should do instead, as you take your time, your

energy, your resources, your love for God, your love for your

children, and you pour Christ into your kids as much as you

can. I get tired of hearing mom say

that all I am is a stay at home mom.

You don't know how valuable you are yet.

Please see it. Where Eve LED all of mankind

into sin because she was deceived.

You can lead mankind out of sin as a mom.

What a great duty. What worth you do have in the

Kingdom of God? View it as a high calling.

A high calling to make spirit who loves the Lord still.

Kirk, you don't understand. I can't have children.

How can this apply to me? The older women are to teach the

younger women. Find women in this congregation

who don't have godly moms and women that are discipling them.

And you be a. Spiritual mother to them.

How about that about this? Their kids being abandoned left

and right up for adoption. Adopt A child.

Teach them about Jesus. So you think God's calling all

the people to adopt children? No.

I think that's a special calling from God.

If he leads you to do it, do it. He's going to give you the

resources to do it and then pour Christ into them.

Except your God ordained role is 1 of great worth and value not

only to your husband and to your children, but to the Kingdom of

God. He by his own design.

Promises to redeem you through of children, birthing those

children in painful agony. And I know it's painful.

I've never had childbirth. Somebody told me it was akin to

kidney stones, and I've had three or four of those.

And so I understand. You know what's interesting

about you have a gorgeous and a precious gift from God.

All I had was a stone that I had to take to your urologist to

have it tested to see why I was having kidney stone.

You have something precious that he's trusted you with.

The next generation, they're depending upon you.

The ordained role as the weaker vessel has those of great worth

and value, and as those who teach worship and virtue.

Watch what he says. But women will be saved through

childbearing if here's the condition here, if they continue

in faith, love and holy with propriety, he said.

You'll be safe through childbearing if you give them

the godly example that you were supposed to give to them.

The whole stigma of woman being the weaker vessel that led men

into sin and you devoting yourself.

To teach worship and virtue to your children how through your

example, your example, watch this your example of what he

says it faith pointing your children to true faith in God

through the Lord Jesus over again.

I can't tell you how many times my wife presented the gospel to

my grown children, but I can confidently say that she

presented the gospel to my grown children far more times than I

ever did, which I'm thankful because it is through her

example. My children are believers today.

We know it's because of the grace of God that this is His

instrument that He uses. If they continue in faith,

thankful for a wife who continues continued in faith as

she pointed her children to Christ.

True faith in God, that only comes through submission to the

Lord Jesus, trusting and teaching.

It's only through the gospel that a person has ever saved.

About my children, they're growing.

They both serve the Lord. What's the secret?

There's no secret, there's just scripture.

And when a woman accepts their God ordained role and a man

accepts his God ordained role, God does what God promises to do

through their faith. Oh, just yesterday I got to

witness one of the most precious things to me so far in my life.

I sat in a restaurant and I had my 17 I believe months month old

granddaughter. She's 17 months.

Sounds close or 18. I know I've only forked out cash

for one birthday so far but I can't wait till the 2nd.

I got that jade who made you? She said God named me, I'll give

you the translation. God made me.

I said what else? She said everything, everything.

And then asked why did God make everything?

She says, but for his glory. How does she know this?

She has a mom who is willing to go against the grain, who has

found her worth in Christ and is teaching them to find their

worth in Christ. She has accepted her God

ordained role and already we are seeing the fruits of it already.

I'm thankful also for my son and for his wife.

I am for Jordan and Tyler and JoJo as you know her already for

Knox can even talk reading him the truth of scripture, playing

him songs that edify and glorify Christ.

Because this is important ladies, be willing to accept

your God ordained role. Stop listening to society and

culture. Caved through childbearing,

meaning this you will find redemption seeing the next

generation come to know God if you continue in faith, the one

true faith, the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He says in love, the love that is described there in first

1 Corinthians 13 · chapter mention

Corinthians chapter 13 where it says in verse 4 love is patient,

love is kind, does not boast, it is not proud, it does not

dishonor others. It is not self seeking.

It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth.

It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always

perseveres. Love never fails.

That kind of love God kind of love love your children being a

through how you love how you love God.

Does that know what Jesus said was the first command he says

love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your

soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest

command. Matthew 22 verse 37 and 38

Matthew 22:37

Ladies, children, that you love the Lord your God with

everything that you are, that you love God more than

everything and teach. Them to do the same not only how

you love God, but also how you love others.

Jesus didn't stop with the 1st and greatest commandment.

I want you to pay attention to that.

Teach your children. But Matthew 2239 says love your

neighbor as yourself. You think you don't have an

important job, you have an essential role and the godly or

the godlessness of the next generation, except your role as

those who teach worship and virtue to your children.

This is if you continue in faith, love and holiness with

propriety. Show them the holy and righteous

life looks like self controlled, reverent, Worshipful, prayerful

Titus 2-3 and I'm done. It says.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they

live, not to be slanders or addicted to much wine, but to

teach what is good. Urge the younger women to love

their husbands and children. Love your husbands and children.

Love the Lord first of your husbands and children and to be

self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind and be

subject to their husbands so that no one will malign the word

of God. So that no one can come back and

say the word of God is not true, the word of God.

And he has called women who profess his name to godliness.

Hear that call, accept that call.

Walk in that God ordained role for your life.

Women, you've heard it today, the biblical call.

Women, you're now faced with a dilemma.

Oh, please don't turn me off yet.

I know that I've gone long, but isn't this important?

Isn't this more important than anything else we could do?

Your children are at stake. Your home's at stake.

The church is at stake. It's important you're faced with

it. I'm not.

All I've done today is deliver the message.

Here's the dilemma. Do you continue to give in to

the godlessness of this culture, what it says in contradiction to

the work? You walk out these doors today

and get mad at me, get in your fills and say that stupid pastor

with that old outdated message. It's not my message.

How do you hear the word of God that you said at the beginning

of the service when I asked you, do you believe that this is

global and inspired, breathed by God?

You believe this is truth? He surrendered to the truth.

Today you bow before God and say God, I want to be what you want

me to be. Would you obediently answer

God's call to be a godly woman? Women here, I want to tell you

this. There's hope for you in Christ.

That is the only hope you'll find.

You will never raise the next generation to be godly if you

don't first know God through Jesus Christ.

You're a Sinner and you were separated from God himself

because of your sin and it's Christ who came to die and your

place to rescue you from that sin that keeps you from God.

He bore deserved on his back at the cross and he will set you

free today from the penalty of sin as you cry out to him as

Lord and Savior. Perhaps today you say, Kurt, I

want to talk to somebody about what it means to know Christ.

I pray that you would. I'm thankful that in the earlier

service the young lady did just that.

She wanted to know how do Christ?

There'll be people up here in just a moment who are standing

here to pray with you and to pray for you.

Talk to you about what it means to know Christ.

I pray today that you would repent and believe on Christ and

be saved. To the women of this

congregation, you can get stuck. You can succumb to the culture,

or you can submit to Christ. Those are the only two options.

You stand your feet now as heads are bowed and eyes are closed.

Today, who has been doing it your way or the way of the

culture? This message has brought you to

a place of repentance. I pray that you would do just

that, that you would fall in your face and you would confess

your sin, that you would repent, turn to and His word, live a

life of obedience to it, to Him, bringing Him glory and honor and

praise. You need folks to pray with you

about that. There'll be ladies down here to

my right and to my left who would be more than eager and

excited to pray for you. Maybe you just want to come at

these steps and just kneel, pour your heart out to God.

My prayer is this. And God would raise up a group

of godly women like this community has never seen before,

that through you, through you, through the gospel that you

preached, in the gospel that you live, you would save the next

generation. Again, if you need prayer,

there's folks to pray with you. I'll be down in front of you.
