In Matthew. Chapter, 14 verse 23.
-
Look to your neighbor and say I am going to receive the secret
-
to life and power. Amen.
-
Now once you receive it is time for you to act on it, can I get
-
an amen? Because sometimes we can find an
-
answer but not act on that answer and we need to act on the
-
answer, you know, a lot of people have already She heard
-
that Jesus died on the cross and Rose from the grave.
-
So they already have the answer but they're not acting on it.
-
And if you don't act on it, then you don't have the benefits that
-
come with it, okay? In Matthew Chapter 14 verse 23.
-
It says that this way after he had sent the crowds away, he
-
went up On the mountain by himself to pray and when it was
-
evening, he was there alone, another scripture that I use
-
often. When I start messages is out of
-
Matthew chapter 15 verse 3. I'm just going to quote it for
-
you because it Bears repeating as we enter into this context
-
that we want to grow in and that is Jesus said to some religious
-
people, very religious people. He said, why do you Ends grass
-
the Commandment of God for the sake of your tradition, in
-
essence, they had this knowledge about God and they have formed
-
that knowledge about God around how they wanted to express him.
-
And they were saying this expression of how we formed God
-
around our idea. Our opinion is how you actually
-
worship God, and Jesus says, that's not how it is.
-
In fact, you're not doing what What God said, you're actually
-
doing your man made God ideas and he's talking to religious
-
people. Now when I say religious people,
-
I'm not talking about religious, people that are of a different
-
religion, he wasn't talking to Buddhists, he wasn't talking to
-
hinduist, he wasn't talking to whatever other religion that we
-
could quote from this platform today.
-
He's talking to those who had the law of Moses, the what the
-
very word that God the Father spoke to Jesus himself and to
-
other prophets. So, they actually had scripture
-
that Jesus himself would quote, but Jesus quoted it in the right
-
context, where they would quote it in a wrong context.
-
I'm Jesus would challenge their thinking he would say things
-
like this. You've heard it's a of old.
-
Thou shalt not commit murder. right, then he would go on and
-
say, but I say unto you if you hate your brother, this is a
-
problem. Amen.
-
I'm paraphrasing. I can go to the next one.
-
He said, you've heard it say of all Dow shalt, not commit
-
adultery, but I say unto you, if you lust after a woman in your
-
heart, you've committed the sin of adultery already.
-
Now, this was shocking to the religious that were teaching.
-
Thou shalt not commit adultery because they knew the penalty
-
for adultery is you would be stoned and in essence, the Lord
-
saying if you lustin for someone in your heart, Art but you
-
didn't act on it by physically being with them, you still have
-
the penalty of that. You should be stoned and this
-
mess them up, it messed them up so much that if you follow the
-
gospels, they talk to Jesus about marriage divorce, more and
-
adultery on more than one occasion, so much, so that they
-
drugged a woman caught in adultery.
-
That lets us know these priests these Pharisees and Sadducees
-
were having a little lust problem because they're trying
-
to justify their you can look but not touch, theology.
-
I said, you can look but not touch theology.
-
Now, that's not back in that day.
-
That's today, I've been around some denominational people in my
-
past people that went to church people that, you know, went to
-
church on Sunday, but will tell me at the workplace, you know,
-
you know, it's okay. You can look as long as you
-
don't touch. Well, that's not the scripture.
-
Like all of a sudden, you've done some holy because you with
-
frame from actually touching even though you want to No,
-
Jesus called that on the carpet. Amen.
-
So look to your neighbor today and say, I don't know.
-
What I think, I know. Could there be that potentially
-
what you think? You know, maybe you don't know.
-
Now, I'm not saying abandon what you do know is truth and you can
-
substantiate it with scripture, but could there be something you
-
think, you know, only to find out you really don't know
-
because it may be a little more traditional than it is the
-
command of God. Now, the difference between
-
tradition in the command of God is the command of God gets
-
results, When God commanded something, it happened.
-
Okay, let me go over here. Amen.
-
I mean it's I even said what I've ministered on today and
-
it's already quiet. All right, come on.
-
Do I got some double Dippers in here?
-
First service people who come on, get with me.
-
All right, okay, so here, when God said it, it happened.
-
So when God commanded nothing, resisted it.
-
Okay. But when you're doing a
-
tradition, the tradition will invalidate, the word, it will
-
cause it to not work. Jesus said this, he says you,
-
and that you make the word void because of your traditions
-
because of how you choose to believe God's power can actually
-
show up and demonstrate what he really meant because you hold to
-
something that is not actually how God.
-
Did you to know it and live it and walk in it?
-
Amen. So today I want to talk about a
-
passion that Jesus had and so before I release it, I'm let's
-
see. Some scripture calls, you know,
-
for the sake of time, I just want to get some scripture under
-
our belt. The Bible says that everything
-
be confirmed by two or three Witnesses.
-
So, let me give you 45 that way we leave.
-
No doubt say it's going to be no doubt.
-
So we saw Matthew 14:23 and he sent the crowds.
-
It's away and went up to the mountain by himself to pray.
-
And when he was when it was evening he was there alone in
-
Mark. Chapter 1 verse 35.
-
It says in the morning rising up rising up a great while before
-
day he went out and departed into a solitary place and there
-
prayed, Mark 6:46 after bidding them, farewell, he left for the
-
mountain to pray, Luke 5:16, but Jesus himself would often slip
-
away to the Wilderness and pray. Luke chapter 6 and verse 12.
Luke 6 chapter mention
-
It was at this time that he went off to the mountain to pray and
-
he spent the whole night in prayer to God.
-
So in these five passages of scripture, there's a theme if
-
you've not caught it yet, the theme is Jesus prayed.
-
I said, Jesus prayed. Now we need to understand that
-
this is Jesus is most important Ministry.
-
This is his most important Ministry, in fact, if he didn't
-
have this ministry, he could have done nothing else in
-
Ministry. Now, how do I know is that
-
important? Don't because Jesus is still
-
doing this ministry today. The Bible tells us that Jesus is
-
seated at the right hand of the father interceding for the
-
Saints, Pastor, Mike find where that scripture is so I can quote
-
it, okay? So he says, Jesus is seated at
-
the right hand of the father interceding, for the Saints, for
-
who for who for who for who for who for the Saints.
-
He's interceding for the Saints. I'm stalling as my guide, when I
-
was in Israel, I'm smoothing right now, but I wait for Pastor
-
Mike to find that scripture, so that I can say where it's
-
literally at. Okay, you there Hebrews.
-
Anybody got it. Hebrews Hebrews 7:25, Hebrews
-
7:25 will put my eyes on it. It's worth it, man, because God
-
just gave me something while I'm here.
-
And my wife, she's already blurted it out because we're
-
connected were once less. I love it.
-
Hebrews chapter 7, amen. In verse 25, it says this
Hebrews 7 chapter mention
-
wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost and
-
come come unto God by him seeing that he liveth to make
-
intercession for them. Are you with me?
-
So he is making intercession. He is making intercession.
-
He is also able to save to the uttermost.
-
Those who come to God through him, who's come to God through
-
them. They're called the Saints.
-
Since he always lives to make intercession for them.
-
So Jesus is seated in heaven. Next to the father, not praying
-
for the world. Okay, are you ready?
-
Now listen, I'm going to make some statements I already know
-
it's going to mess you up a little bit but stay with me.
-
Okay. Because the reality is you hear
-
stuff all the time? You're like, what?
-
And you don't always abandon it, okay?
-
I mean let's follow a process through and again like I said
-
and first service, you know, we video our second services and
-
they're out online and I'm seeing a trend that when we
-
start a particular series man, people are viewing it.
-
But then when I get too weak to it, starts to tell all Off,
-
meaning that not the same amount of views in the first time we
-
Minister on something, it goes to the second week, so that
-
tells me I've lost people already.
-
Now, why would I have lost people?
-
I can tell you why I lose because I say something like,
-
but I ain't right. Well, they say that because
-
their tradition says that, but they don't actually study the
-
scripture to determine it because their denomination don't
-
believe it and they've never studied the word to determine if
-
their denomination is even right.
-
So as a result of that they quit because you know they've heard
-
their denomination say to them, you know what, there's a lot of
-
false teachers false prophets and all that and there are.
-
But again how do you find out whether they are false or not?
-
You actually studied the scripture yourself to determine
-
if it is not because I'm telling you there are those people, you
-
go ahead, study the scripture yourself, everything I'm going
-
to say to you. You write it down.
-
You read over yourself. You are obligated to leave this
-
building and go read it for yourself and pray and say God
-
show me whether this is. So And if more people did that
-
more people would realize that a lot of things were saying.
-
In fact, the majority are right in line with scripture and you
-
would have to start a band in your tradition.
-
Amen. Now, have I had kicked back at
-
Toms and but Ministry. Absolutely, I've said some stuff
-
people like, no way, I say well, let's meet about it.
-
Amen. Let's meet about it.
-
And I've had meetings next thing, you know, they're like
-
well, I'm like, yeah, I know. Right, I mean I was shocked
-
myself. When I first saw it and read it
-
and studied it out. It's different in it.
-
Yep, that's it. Well, thank god.
-
He's growing uh Sidney. Amen.
-
He's growing us. So Jesus is all a lives to make
-
intercession for them. He's not interceding for the
-
world. Jesus has already provided for
-
the world. It's done.
-
He's got to finish work. Jesus is not doing anything else
-
for the world. So let me tell you what Jesus is
-
not doing. Jesus is not saying, Even people
-
today, I know that's shocking but we'll get to it.
-
He's not healing people today. He's not delivering people
-
today. Because Jesus has already done
-
that again in this Sanctuary right now.
-
I don't know. All of you.
-
Some of you are first-time guests, some, you've been guests
-
for a little while, and haven't yet committed to the vision.
-
Not sure, whether this is your fit or not.
-
Some of you've been around for a long time.
-
I know you stuff, I know what you've come through, I'll take
-
you to war with me because you have fought the good fight of
-
Faith, man. And we can do some things
-
together you have endured But with that being said, I look out
-
here and I know that there are different people, which means,
-
if you know, anything just Elementary principal about
-
scripture, you know that Jesus died once and for all for all
-
sin, that his blood, his death, burial, Resurrection was enough
-
that one event was enough to save.
-
Anybody was tells me then, again, Jesus isn't saving people
-
today because over 2,000 years ago when he died was raised from
-
the The dead by the power of the Holy Ghost, took his blood to
-
The Mercy Seat, in heaven and poured it out.
-
He saved all of humanity. The question is, are they
-
believing in the Salvation already provided?
-
So again, when you walk around say Jesus saves today, no, he
-
does. He's safe 2000 years ago.
-
The people being saved today are actually just receiving
-
something that's already been paid for over 2,000 years ago.
-
Anybody getting healed today in being here.
-
Healed by Jesus today but are being healed because over 2,000
-
years ago by his stripes. You were healed.
-
So now you are, you're finally getting into something that's
-
already been taken care of but what is Jesus literally doing
-
today? He's praying.
-
For the Saints. Now, why is he praying for us?
-
Because he needs us to get what he had a revelation of Prayer.
-
See, we drag way too much world into our new creation reality in
-
essence. We sorry.
-
No, good. We he then we separated from
-
God. We are destitute, we are ruined.
-
We are to be eternally. Just, we are to be eternally,
-
separated, there's nothing we do.
-
That's right with God, it can't be right?
-
Even if we think it's right, it isn't right.
-
The standard of our living can never compare to the the
-
Holiness of God. And we come to this reality that
-
Jesus Christ. It is the only way to have a
-
relationship with a father. We couldn't have done it.
-
He actually did it all. So, we receive his gift by faith
-
through prayer. We pray to get born again.
-
And the minute we do, then we receive this free gift.
-
We become a new creature in Christ.
-
The old passes away, behold All Things become new, the Holy
-
Spirit comes and lives on the inside of us Bears.
-
Witness with our spirit and does the assignment of beginning to
-
instruct us and teach us in this new life that we're in.
-
But too often because we could talk to God effectively outside.
-
Meaning there's only a few things we could say or would say
-
that he would do for us per se to try to let us know he exists.
-
Then we still walk around as if God.
-
Is a mystery yet, God can be known, he can be known.
-
Now again I love those who quote the Old Testament.
-
You know, Old Testament has an application.
-
There's a lot we can learn from that but you have to interpret
-
it in light of the New Covenant where I am because we're in a
-
New Covenant with better promises.
-
The old Covenant says, his ways are higher than our ways and his
-
thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
-
That's true. But then we get over to the New
-
Covenant, Paul writes and says we have the mind of Christ.
-
Now, Christ could tap into God's will.
-
Jesus could tap in to his ways and his thinking.
-
And he tapped in through prayer. Now, not prayer Lon because
-
Jesus was raised with Holy Scripture.
-
So it's a combination of the written word of God, who
-
studying the word of God, because the word of God is God
-
speaking to us, it is a dialogue, he's talking to us
-
through his scripture. He will also talk to us by
-
Spirit. There's one renowned Minister, I
-
won't say who it is, but our Washington faculty and staff
-
went to a particular conference. And this renowned Minister who's
-
written many books and even have a Bible translation.
-
Stood up in front of this whole organization is says, I've never
-
heard the voice of God. It was shocking.
-
And yet they're discipling. Well, you're not doing a good
-
job if you can't hear God. No, Jesus died rose from the
-
dead, not just to get you out of hell.
-
That's not his purpose. His purpose was to get Christ
-
in. You the hope of glory.
-
It was the put God in you so that you can live and move and
-
have your being that you could actually talk with the Lord that
-
you can hear him. Speak to you.
-
Now, the written word allows us to keep the The Voice we're
-
hearing on the inside accurate. So we're not saying well, the
-
Lord said, my wife's older now and I should throw who to the
-
side and find a younger one. No, you're not gonna find that
-
in scripture. So as a result of that, that
-
wasn't God. Amen.
-
So I'm praying for a new wife. Well, you're not praying, right?
-
You're like everybody else that has false gods and they pray to
-
nothing that here's because God can't hear that are you with me?
-
The devil. Hear it.
-
And the devil is send, somebody your way and tell you.
-
This is the new one. Hallelujah.
-
So Jesus pray. Well, when did he pray?
-
He preyed on him out. He prayed in the garden.
-
He prayed by himself. He prayed early in the morning
-
blown before it was day, he prayed late at night, in fact,
-
one time he prayed all night. Let me ask this question.
-
When's the last time you prayed all night?
-
I'm not actually raise your hand.
-
I come to find out this thought process is just as grevious to
-
the Saints as talking about Finance.
-
Now, I know why Finance is a problem because it's a god.
-
Jesus said you can't serve both God and Mammon or wealth because
-
you'll love one and hate the other.
-
You'll despise one and be devoted to the other.
-
Now, if you'll serve, God, you'll have wealth, but if you
-
serve well, God doesn't come with a picture.
-
Even though you may claim him as giving you the stuff, but let me
-
tell you something, you're not getting all that God would have
-
for you if you're not praying. Because you can acquire without
-
him. What good is it a man to gain
-
the whole world and forfeit his soul?
-
Right. There's a way that seems right
-
to a man and Indian lies death but what seems right about it.
-
I'm prospering. I'm doing good.
-
My business is doing good. You know.
-
And as a result of that my life's good.
-
I got a nice house. Nice whole a good retirement.
-
Got all this. I'm set up, man.
-
I'm living better than my family.
-
You know. Praise God.
-
But yeah, you never told him about any of it.
-
What if you stood before him one day and he says, I never called
-
you in any of that. But how would, you know, unless
-
you have a conversation? See, but when we think that
-
God's number one Ministry is the win the Lost.
-
Then you think the only thing God is concerned about is
-
getting you in the family. No, geez, number one Ministry
-
was to pray because if the loss is going to come to the Lord, we
-
need to pray. Okay, let me go over here.
-
Jesus said the Harvest is great, but the laborers are few.
-
They're like, what do we do? He said, look up for your eyes,
-
your eyes for the fields, are white for Harvest.
-
They're like, what do we do? Lord, you don't need it.
-
He didn't say, this is what we're gonna do.
-
I got a 12-step program on how to win the lost and what you're
-
going to do is you're going to go here and you're going to say
-
the Romans road and you're going to do this even though the
-
Romans road wasn't written down, but you understand, I'm saying,
-
you're gonna do this and you're gonna say this, you're going to
-
get this track and you're going to hand down this thing and
-
you're gonna invite them to church.
-
Church. And you're going to do this,
-
we're going to do a big service event and we're really going to
-
blow it out, right? Just for the Lost.
-
I'm not saying people are getting born again by those
-
things, but that's not what Jesus said.
-
Jesus said, pray. To the lord of the Harvest that
-
he would send forth. Meaning he knows when the fields
-
ripe for Pickin and there's a lot of Believers that are going
-
into Publix and saying, where would you go if you died, you
-
know if you died right now but I geez you go to hell Eternal
-
judgment. You'd be burning in Hell
-
brother. Right now, we could pray and get
-
that, right? And that feel didn't even ready
-
to be Harvest yet and you are raping the Vaughn.
-
And they're like, okay, yeah, I'll pray because you're a nut,
-
and I want to go. What do you need me to say?
-
Just say this brother. Dear Jesus.
-
Dear, Jesus, I believe, I believe that you died on the
-
cross. He died on the cross.
-
He rose from the grave brother, okay.
-
And today, today I Repent of my sin.
-
I Repent of my sin. Come into my heart.
-
Come on my heart and save me, and I'm born again, brother.
-
You're born again now. When you die you go to heaven.
-
Praise God. Aren't you excited?
-
All right, you go to the next. WoW.
-
And they go to church. I got somebody putting in a
-
public where they at I don't know, but when they die, they
-
will go to heaven. That's called malpractice in the
-
kingdom of God. Because when someone gets born
-
again, they become a babe in Christ.
-
Am I my sixth grandchild on the front row right now and the last
-
time that I checked a month ago, when my daughter gave birth to
-
our youngest granddaughter, she didn't go, Hallelujah.
-
We had a girl. This is awesome.
-
We've given birth. She's in the world.
-
We've given her life and then went home and stayed with their
-
dogs, and we're like, where's your daughter?
-
I guess he's at the hospital. We did our part. because, you
-
know, right right now that child has everything in her to grow up
-
without them Some other nurse could have said.
-
Well, I'll raise them because they were abandoned by their
-
parents. Oh, I'm preaching way better
-
than your a minute right now. I get it, I understand.
-
And so, all of a sudden, somebody don't even know God
-
starts raising our granddaughter and shows them a whole nother
-
way to live. Jesus said, I'll never leave you
-
nor forsake. You which means this, if you're
-
going to be a laborer for Jesus, if you're getting people in the
-
Kingdom, you should be, like, I'll pick you up on Sunday,
-
because the only reason you're in this kingdom, is to be with
-
the family and the family. He's at the church.
-
So when we pray this prayer, I want you to understand that this
-
means you commit to a life of living for God while you're on
-
the earth. And listen, if you're not ready
-
to come to church all the time, you're not ready to be born
-
again. But what it what if they die?
-
God didn't scare us. He said it's love that.
-
Draws men to repentance not fear.
-
It is a scare them into the kingdom, will you are loving
-
them by telling them, they need Jesus.
-
Yes. If you're actually going with
-
the spirit to tell them that, when the lord of the Harvest sit
-
you, which means, if you're not conversing or having a
-
conversation with god, how do you know what you're supposed to
-
say? See, we're using prayer as a get
-
mechanism. I need to get healed, I need to
-
get blessed. I need to get prosperous.
-
I need to get a job. I need to get a promotion, I
-
need to get a wife, I need to get a husband, I need to get a
-
new car, that's not. What prayers designed for prayer
-
was designed to have a conversation with the creator of
-
Heaven and Earth. So that the father could affect
-
the world through you and he wants to do something but he
-
knows what he wants to do. He's not here to do what you
-
want him to do. And Lord, I'm going to Publix
-
today. And I don't know if anybody's in
-
there today that you feel is ripe for Harvest.
-
I know today is the day of salvation.
-
Why do I know that? Because you've already paid the
-
price, anybody can get born again any time because it's
-
already settled, but the question is, are they ready to
-
make the confession of faith? Has there been enough planting
-
and watering maybe your assignment is not to bring them
-
into the kingdom but just to share the love of Jesus.
-
Oh, can I get that for you? Hold on.
-
Yeah, here you go. Jesus loves.
-
You just want you to know that and then you walk away.
-
Well, you left. And what?
-
If they die and go to died on the way across the parking lot,
-
seriously? Like God knows when they're
-
going, you're going to live your whole life on a what if somebody
-
dies immediately? Why don't you actually talk to
-
God? Because God actually knows when
-
they go go? Since he knows everything.
-
Let's ask that question. Because he's like, that's all I
-
need you to say. Cause two weeks from now, I will
-
have somebody else come by and mention my name and I'm all for
-
now, have somebody else actually sit down, because they're going
-
to go through a tragedy because their life is on the wrong side
-
and I'm going to send another labor, it's going to start
-
talking about my love and really two years from now because of
-
what you just did here is that going to I'm going to cause it
-
to come to their remembrance and show them how I have been
-
talking. To them all this time.
-
And they'll come in. But because we don't understand
-
the ministry of Jesus. We just do things, we see in the
-
Bible instead of talking to the one.
-
I said, that's the last service is very it Bears repeating I'm
-
talk basketball cause wearing basketball season right now and
-
so if you were to watch Kevin Durant, give an interview right
-
after a game, you know? Because if you watch the games,
-
I'll sit down and have a little conversation, the, the mic and
-
people are asking questions, which means there's people in
-
the room with Kevin Durant, and they're talking saying, what did
-
you say about this? What do you say?
-
And so, he'll answer and that maybe one question they would
-
ask what? I've heard these ass before to
-
athletes. What did you do to prepare for
-
this game? Well, and then, they would begin
-
to talk about the strategy and I did this, and I did this, and
-
you may be an athlete that aspires to something.
-
So, you know what, I'm going to do that, I'm going to change.
-
I'm gonna do it. Actually what that person was
-
doing to be able to have the endurance To Be A Champion.
-
So then you take something, they said and begin to apply that
-
principle. And guess what?
-
You get the result of it. But that doesn't mean you had a
-
conversation with Kevin Durant. So what the church unfortunately
-
is turning into is what happened on the mountain when Moses
-
delivered the Israelites. Moses said, everybody consecrate
-
yourself. The Lord is coming down, he
-
wants to talk with you. He had been up there talking
-
with the Lord. Moses talked to God
-
face-to-face. Had a conversation came down
-
said, listen sanctify yourself because God wants to come down
-
on the mountain and talk to you, don't touch them out now.
-
The Lord came down and smoke and thunder.
-
It was it was amazing sight to be seen no doubt.
-
And what did the people say it? They trembled at the presence of
-
God. So they turn to Moses and say
-
you talk to him and then you tell us what he said and we'll
-
do it. So, you don't have to pray
-
because I'll pray. I can show you principles in the
-
word of God. You can apply those principles
-
but you didn't get them from God directly.
-
You got them because I got it from him directly.
-
Prayer is a conversation with god, not taking a principled
-
when he's not in play. And now you have a relationship
-
with him. Amen.
-
I'll never forget the day, the Lord spoke to me these words in
-
my spirit now audibly. But in my spirit, the Lord said
-
to me, I've been married to my wife just a few years and prayer
-
was not a priority. Honestly, it was never
-
demonstrated as a priority in my life, nor in the church that the
-
denominational church I was in. And if they had prayer meetings,
-
basically like any church, even this one to some degree.
-
They were scarcely attended. So prayer wasn't a high priority
-
prayers. Only when you're in trouble,
-
when you're in trouble, you pray.
-
When there's Devastation is time to what it's time to pray, and
-
should you pray during those times?
-
Yes, but it's not the only time to pray Because Jesus prayed all
-
the time, but he wasn't always in Calamity.
-
Well, Peter, cut his foot. Off the floor.
-
What am I going to do, right. No, he wasn't in turmoil, and
-
that's the only reason he prayed.
-
He would talk, just go upside down.
-
I just came to talk with him. I came to converse with you.
-
I love you so much, it's just so great to be with you.
-
So great to be with you. So the Lord said this to me, he
-
said I started praying, just a little bit.
-
You know, she's trying to exit on the Lord said, son.
-
If you spend as much time with your wife, as you do with me,
-
you wouldn't be married very long. because I didn't really
-
spend time with him and I go to church, but didn't spend time
-
with him. And that's a difference.
-
See, most of the time we are saying we pray because what do
-
we do? We're going to get food here at
-
lunch here. If I let you go to lunch and
-
you'll you're going to sit down and you're going to do your
-
blessing. So I'll say, did anybody pray
-
today? Yeah, I pray.
-
That is a prayer. That is a prayer.
-
Sure. But that's not the only prayer,
-
you should pray. Pray over your food and when
-
problems come So we're going to learn how to pray.
-
And we're going to learn why we have to and why Jesus right now
-
is only doing that for us. So we'll get revelation of
-
praying. Everybody in the church wants to
-
see miracles signs, and wonders start praying.
-
No! Great Revival ever hit a
-
community until prayer started, but once the Revival hit, they
-
quit. You pray for a job.
-
You give the job. You stop praying.
-
You're sick, you pray to get healed, you get healed, you stop
-
praying. Oh, it's quiet in here.
-
That matter that we're charismatic Pentecostal rum,
-
when the worships going dance and Shout the matter, if your
-
tongue talker doesn't matter. You start talking about prayer,
-
everybody gets like a morgue. Don't know why.
-
I mean, if you had revelation of prey be like, teach me this
-
thing. Talk to me about this thing,
-
man. I got to have this thing in my
-
life, because of Jesus. That's what he did while he was
-
here and got the result. He got that, I need to have that
-
goes again. You need the Holy Ghost.
-
But the Holy Ghost is going to teach you how to pray and he's
-
not going to violate and do things different than the way he
-
did it with Jesus. Let's go on.
-
I gave you five that Jesus prayed alone.
-
Let me give you some more in Luke chapter 22 verse 41.
-
And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw and he knelt
-
down and began to pray. So there in his presence, he
-
just happened to be over here, while they're over there, about
-
a stone's, throw away. So, Jesus didn't pray isolated
-
by himself entirely. Sometimes he prayed where people
-
were around. Now, that doesn't mean he was
-
praying with them. Exactly.
-
But he was praying along, but he was within their facility in
-
Matthew chapter 26, verse 33, the said Jesus.
-
Jesus came to them to a place called Gethsemane.
-
I was there. I was at this garden and he said
-
to his disciples sit here, sit here while I go over there.
-
And when I came in the gate to the Garden, which is that wall?
-
By the time I got to the end of the gate, which is this wall is
-
basically the garden is inside the sanctuary.
-
So Jesus could only EB. As far as Ricky is from Seth
-
over there in distance in prayer.
-
Hey man. And what did he expect them to
-
do? While he was Remember he walked
-
up and he says Seth, I mean couldn't you pray for one hour
-
man? Why are you sleeping over here?
-
I mean come on man. Uh-huh.
-
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
-
Pray that ye enter not into temptation, I let me go back
-
over here and pray. Seth, please wake up son.
-
I mean, can't you pray for one hour?
-
So again, Jesus wasn't trying to play alone.
-
He wanted to be in a corporate prayer.
-
See people, they take scripture just to validate tradition
-
instead of studying it from Genesis to Revelation, when
-
Jesus said don't be like the Pharisees, that's what he meant.
-
Don't be like the Pharisees. That's the issue.
-
It's not praying out in a street corners.
-
The problem don't be like the Pharisees because when they pray
-
they prayed to be recognized. That's the best the morale of
-
the prayer. They're not that pray.
-
Saying publicly is wrong. Well, Pastor.
-
I just don't believe in that corporate prayer because you
-
know what? Jesus said, go into your closet.
-
Nobody knows and you pray, and you pray in private in God are
-
rewarded openly. That's what the Bible says.
-
Well, that's what fits your tradition because yes, there is
-
a intimate private prayer, no doubt and you should because
-
when I'm intimate with my wife, I don't want nobody else in the
-
room. So there are times, I just want
-
to be with the Lord and nobody else in the room.
-
Amen. But there's other times that the
-
Lord wants others to pray. Jesus Took people to the Garden
-
because he didn't want to pray alone although he had to pray
-
alone. And did he take them when it was
-
convenient for them? Now listen, I don't want to go
-
late, so let's do 9:00 y'all. Go over, not 10, let's do 10,
-
10, 10 a.m. All right, we'll go to
-
breakfast. We'll get a cup of coffee and
-
then we're going to go to the garden and pray because I'm
-
about to die. You understand?
-
And so I need to make sure you pray with me and I need you
-
awake. No, he took them when he needed
-
to do it because he knows tonight's the night.
-
And they coming for me, and I don't get another day.
-
It's now God's. Will you come and pray with me?
-
I'm gonna go over here. I was there.
-
And this is one thing I saw that I never seen before because I
-
never been there. The one Jesus is praying,
-
whether he's looking this way, you know, whether he was looking
-
this way, whether he was looking this way or whether it was
-
looking this way, but to his West, which is the East wall of
-
Jerusalem when he looked into when he looked towards Jerusalem
-
from the garden from the place, he prayed he saw gate and that
-
gate is called the mercy Great Gate.
-
So every time he prayed that father, there's any way for this
-
come to pass, let it pass, but not my will, your will be done
-
because and now, when he looked at Jerusalem, he says, I see
-
your mercy. But the mercy Gates, not just
-
the mercy gate. It's got another name.
-
And he'll pray the second time. Father.
-
If there's any other way for this cup to pass, let it pass.
-
Now, you understand in between these prairies like Peter, Seth,
-
can you pray for me, please? I mean, please wake up, son,
-
okay. And so he goes to second time,
-
I'm praying. He looks at that gate.
-
Again, look into Jerusalem and the second name, the gates
-
called the triumphant gate. Because if he'll do what God
-
says and demonstrate Mercy to Mankind and lay down his life,
-
then he'll have complete and total victory.
-
And when he returns the second time, he's going to walk through
-
the triumphant gate. But there's a third name for the
-
gate. He prays again, Lord, if there's
-
any other way for this cup to pass, let it pass.
-
But not my will, your will be done the third time.
-
He looks at it, maybe he thought of the third name of the gate,
-
it's called the Golden Gate. Why is it the Golden Gate?
-
Why? Cause he's the king of kings and
-
the Lord of lords, Hallelujah is of gets a gate.
-
Befitting of a king that he'll walk through and will all Bow
-
Down and Worship Him. And all the nations of the world
-
will come to him. At his Reign.
-
Hallelujah. So he had something set before
-
him, but he still wanted others that had been with him ones that
-
he had pulled aside ones that had been and seen Miracles that
-
others didn't see when they had experienced things that others
-
had this three guys praying man. I love you.
-
You know, sometimes we got, we need to pray corporately, why?
-
Because you are not the church by yourself.
-
So get rid of that deception. Well, I'm the church.
-
No, you're not, you're a finger. The church is a body.
-
You can't be the church by yourself.
-
Well, I am the church. I pray know, you are part of the
-
body. So you're part of the church are
-
not the church itself. So again, when we go over to
-
James and we hit read about Elijah.
-
I was there on Mount Carmel where Elijah called out the
-
prophets of Baal. Why did he call him out?
-
Because he's Latin to know what you been doing for the last
-
three and a half years. You've been praying hat, you and
-
the prophets of Baal said yeah. We've been praying who you've
-
been praying to bail? What's Bell represent?
-
He represents rain? Well, has he been listening to
-
you? Because I've been praying to the
-
Creator for the last three and a half years.
-
And I've prayed that no rain show up here and that's why you
-
and a drought. But since you are of the nation
-
of Israel, like I am and you've chosen not to follow God, but a
-
false god. Let's go ahead and let the rest
-
of the tribes figure out whom they gonna serve today and whom
-
they going to, listen to go ahead and build you an altar and
-
I'll build my and we'll see which one actually listens
-
since. I'm pretty convinced mind us
-
since it hasn't had any rain for three and a half years and you
-
rain. God has brought any So we go
-
over to James. It says, the fervent prayer of a
-
righteous man availeth much. It makes power available Dynamic
-
and it's working. It did cause Elijah lived in a
-
dispensation where the church was not but today we live in the
-
dispensation called the church and the church is called to pray
-
because at the head of the church, which is Jesus Christ
-
and we are his body. If he is up in heaven praying,
-
then what should we be doing? Then why is it the least
-
attended Tom's? Now again, pray at the house.
-
Great, no problem. But when you say, man, we need
-
to come together and pray. The reason why things are
-
happening in the Earth today is not because the world's just
-
Wicked and bad. It's because the church isn't
-
praying about it. And you praying by yourself is
-
not good enough to make Global change.
-
That's why the church is here. Luke chapter 9 verse 18 says
-
this and it came to pass when he was alone praying, his disciples
-
were with him and he asked him saying, whom do people say that
-
I am drop down to verse 28, of the same chapter.
-
Some eight days after these sayings he took along Peter,
-
John and James and went up to the mountain to pray.
-
So again, Jesus prayed alone. But he also prayed with people
-
and again, this prayer time was so significant and so obvious to
-
his disciples, that Luke 11:1 gives us some insight on how
-
what they saw about prayer that they could be around it, but
-
they didn't know what was going on.
-
Was tells us this, you can't just come and hear someone pray
-
and get prayer, Pastor Mars. He just got this little nugget
-
in prayer time between services today.
-
It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place after
-
he had finished one of his disciples said to him, Lord
-
teach us to pray. Just as John also, taught his
-
disciples which tells us this, you can't pray without being
-
taught Well, I prayed all my life.
-
Have you been taught to pray that someone gave you some
-
training? Have you had some equipping
-
through the fivefold ministry because if you haven't, I would
-
scarcely. Say I'm not real sure how great
-
your prayers are now. That's offensive to people.
-
I get that because again I'm doing the best I can to talk to
-
God. That's not good enough guys.
-
It's not good enough for God because God's laying out.
-
I'm going to show you how to talk to me.
-
And when you talk to me, I'll hear you every time yet we can
-
to settle for just talking. I understand this there's a lot
-
of husband-wife relationships that are like this, the wife
-
don't hear anything. The husband says, just tells
-
them what they should do and this is how it's going to be and
-
there's no real conversation. But you think we converse
-
because I told you what I think I'm not listening to what you
-
say, what you just said that was stupid, we're not doing that and
-
guess what? It's one-sided and we do this in
-
prayer with God. Husbands the same way, tell
-
their wives exactly what to do this.
-
How it is like they have no voice in the matter.
-
Can't say anything about it. We have a relationship.
-
That's not a relationship. That's a dictatorship.
-
But with the Lord, we get to talk to him.
-
But when we talked to him a lot of times my Lord, I need this.
-
And why would you do this? And Lord.
-
Bless this Lord. Jesus!
-
Thank you in Jesus name. Amen!
-
And you walk off and the doors like Great, not talking with you
-
and your and then you go around and say, you know, I prayed to
-
God that just didn't happen. The Lord's life.
-
I really have something to say but you didn't let me talk.
-
So, again, content, pray without ceasing and you praying without
-
ceasing all the time. And guys, like, hey, have you
-
been around a person that talks all the time?
-
You like want to say something? You know, you just breathe.
-
Please breathe, man. So, I can get something in right
-
now. Right?
-
You've been around those people, they talked all boom boom and he
-
and then they leave and they feel great and you're like what
-
happened? And I know my Father in Heaven,
-
says, this about some of his kids, what just happened?
-
What was that called down there that they call that a prayer
-
meeting because, according to my word, that was nothing of a
-
prayer meeting. That's what Jesus said about the
-
Pharisees and the Sadducees. He said they don't have prayer
-
meetings so don't pray like them.
-
Hallelujah. John Wesley said this.
-
It seems God is limited by our prayer life.
-
That he can do nothing for Humanity.
-
Unless someone asks him. This would be a this is a
-
shocking statement fact. So shocking that brother Hagin.
-
Kenneth E Hagin himself. He's gone on to be with the Lord
-
in his book, called The Art of prayer, wrestled with this
-
thought, process, some self to the point that he's like, I'm
-
gonna find out why John said this.
-
John Wesley started. The Methodist Church.
-
Okay, now, the Methodist church today is not how John Wesley
-
started. It just going to let you know
-
because I give you another quote of what he said.
-
Concerning the church about the move and power of the Holy
-
Ghost. If it is not there, then the
-
church would just become a religious order and have no
-
profound effect. And he prayed, may it never be
-
to this group. Now, I'm not saying that every
-
Methodist Church doesn't have the spirit of God flowing in it
-
because I've never been to all of them, but I've been to a few
-
denominational churches, not to include that one that my
-
brother-in-law. I was raised in a Methodist
-
Church and never heard that he had to give his life to Jesus.
-
That didn't happen until he met my sister.
-
Because we were raising the domination of church, the
-
Baptist Church and that's all you heard is you better get born
-
again because you're gonna go to hell if you don't.
-
Are you with me again? I don't go to Every church.
-
So I don't know what everybody believes.
-
So, please don't get stereotypical.
-
Don't think that all because they don't have nothing, don't
-
say that, okay? Until you go and sit in the
-
service and see how they're moving and see what's going on.
-
Can you make a determination of whether Gods they're not?
-
Okay, brother Hagin said this. He said I examine God's word for
-
Y, for the, why behind John Wesley statement?
-
I saw a truth that I never seen before though.
-
I've been in Ministry for Years. This is what I love about
-
Kenneth E Hagin, is that he was always teachable.
-
Always that even though he had preached priests priests and
-
ministers, he realized man there's still some things I
-
could learn. He says I asked the Lord about
-
it. He said to me, go back to the
-
book of Beginnings which means god actually talk to a spirit
-
man about a book in the Bible. That means he heard God in his
-
Spirit. He said, I knew he meant the
-
Book of Genesis, so I reread it. I had read it many times, I'd
-
heard it taught in Sunday school as a Sunday school boy.
-
I saw it in a different light for the first time.
-
Said I saw that God had made the world in the fullness thereof
-
and he made his man. Adam then he said, Adam, I give
-
you dominion over all the work of my hands.
-
What do we find this from? Genesis chapter one.
-
You've heard us preach this before but let's look at it.
-
Genesis 1:26 and 27. Then God said let us make man in
-
our image, according to our likeness, and let them let them,
-
let them, let them, let them rule over the fish of the sea
-
over, the birds of the sky, over the cattle over all the Earth
-
and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth verse
-
27, then God. Created man, God created, man in
-
his own image and his likeness. He created both male and female
-
he created them. Psalms chapter, 8, verses 4.
-
And 8 says this, most people say this is Jesus, but it's not
-
Jesus, it's us. Although Jesus fits it in one
-
context because Jesus, the son of God dropped himself into a
-
flesh suit and told people he was the son of man and the
-
reason he had to do this is because what God had given man
-
originally What is man that you take thought of him, the son of
-
man that you care for him. Look at this.
-
Yet, you have made him a little lower than God.
-
Adam was made a little lower than God.
-
Adam was made like God in a skin suit but he wasn't God.
-
He was like God in nature. You crowned him with glory and
-
Majesty. What was his glory?
-
He had dominion over the Earth. First six, you made him to rule
-
over him. Little H over the works of your
-
hands, you have put all things under his feet.
-
So God when he created this Earth realm said man which is my
-
Camp crowning creation. I am going to give him the rule
-
down there. I'll rule here and I'll instruct
-
him on how to rule there as we converse.
-
Well, the Bible says that God walked or came in the cool of
-
the day and he would have a conversation.
-
With his creation. So, Adam had Dominion.
-
So, Kenneth Hagin goes on a says, God did not say I'm going
-
to dominate through you. He said I give you dominion over
-
all the works of my hands there for Adam had to mean upon this
-
Earth and in this world he was originally in a sense God of
-
this world come on to you and me now again I need you stay with
-
me just a few more minutes and we're going to conclude because
-
I'm telling you right now I'm giving you the secret to life.
-
And you're not going to get it any other way.
-
And anything you're actually getting from God is because
-
somebody knows this. Somebody knows this.
-
What is it that they know is that they have a legal
-
responsibility to speak God's word into the Earth in order for
-
God to do something. He said, but Satan came to lie
-
to Adam Adam committed. High treason is sold out to
-
Satan. Then Satan became the God of
-
this world. We know second Corinthians 4:4
-
literally says that calls him the God of this world.
-
So he has a lease meaning he has received this ability to rein in
-
the earth, he got it from Adam, the first Adam, but Jesus is the
-
last Adam, he's stripped the devil of the power to be able to
-
keep control or dominion over every person.
-
He's offered a way of Escape. Meaning, if you would repent and
-
ask Jesus to be Lord of your life, you'll be transferred from
-
the domain of Darkness into the kingdom of his Ovid son.
-
And God then through Jesus Christ gives you power back in
-
the earth to bring Heaven here. Through your words.
-
So, God cannot legally and justly move in and take away the
-
Dominion from the devil. Meaning, he's already stripped
-
him of the power, over your life, but the devil still here.
-
Now, next week I don't have time today but I'm setting you up and
-
I'm leaving you a little cliffhanger.
-
Get rid of the false theology that God is in control.
-
I will tell you what he does control.
-
But he's not in control of everything.
-
He's not. And when you, if you will accept
-
that truth. Then you'll prayer life will
-
work. because as long as you think, God's in control, Then
-
you'll never have the prayer life God intended.
-
Because you will let go and let doubt unbelief and you'll
-
release faith. You'll quit with faith and say,
-
well, God's in control. And the devil will win in that
-
area your life. Hallelujah, this would be
-
popular. I know they'll love this
-
teaching. This is such a great teaching,
-
is such a, such a powerful teaching.
-
I mean, I'll be encouraged myself in the Lord right now.
-
I'd say I stir myself up right now, I tell you right now, I'm
-
gonna go do a prayer. Walk after this thing, I'm ready
-
to pray. I'm ready to pray.
-
I'm ready to pray. I'm ready to pray.
-
I'm ready to pray. I want to pray.
-
I want to have a conversation with god.
-
I want to take a whole group of people and me that desire to
-
actually converse with him and not.
-
Quit and quick. Getting statistics of him,
-
getting a little quick, Bible verses and quick little daily
-
bread and have this little distant relationship and act.
-
Like they're actually living a relationship with God.
-
I'm looking for people that are designing that I'm going to do
-
the same Ministry. Jesus did, and my more pray.
-
And when I pray, it's going to be like Jesus, because Jesus,
-
man, in one of his prayer times he showed up at Lazarus Gray.
-
Rate in John chapter 11 verses 41 and 42.
-
And it says Jesus raised his eyes and said, father, I thank
-
you that you have heard me, that tells us that the Creator hears
-
and he is separating himself from every other religion
-
because all your man-made idols and man-made fables and men may
-
theologies they don't hear Jack but Dad hears, then he goes on
-
in the next Person says this man.
-
He says I know knew that you always hear me but because of
-
the people standing around, I said it so that they may believe
-
that you sent me now what was the position Jesus Took at this
-
moment, John tells us the type of prayer position that Jesus
-
had because he was a guy who prayed so we love the miracles
-
signs and wonders. We love to casting out the
-
devil's. When we read it we love the
-
healing of the lame. In the sick and the raising of
-
the dead, but none of that would happen if Jesus hadn't prayed.
-
We want God to do that in our life but not talk to him.
-
We want the law save without conversing with the lord of the
-
Harvest. We want this Supernatural move.
-
We can't do anything anyway. You're in control and sit back,
-
and wait on a move of God. I'm telling you, if you're in a
-
move of God's, because somebody's been in a closet or a
-
group of people been praying somewhere and brought it to
-
pass. What would it look like if this
-
church did this amen? Hallelujah.
-
Well, the position is first, John 5:4?
-
In 15. It says, this is the confidence
-
that we have before him. That if he, if we ask anything
-
according to his, will he hears us now Jesus said, father, I
-
thank you that you always hear me.
-
So, this is where Jesus was at. He was confident verse 15 and if
-
we know that he hears us to Jesus know that yes and whatever
-
we ask, we know that we have the request, which we've asked of
-
him. So in today's Christians, I'm
-
closing with this and you determine where you're at.
-
How does your prayer sound? Does it sound like this Jesus
-
shows up Martha's like Jesus. Jesus, if you'd only been here
-
four days ago, you could have healed him Jesus said he's going
-
to live again. Yeah, I know in the
-
resurrection, Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life
-
and he wept he wasn't weeping because Lazarus died.
-
He was weeping because they ain't got it yet.
-
I don't know who they are. Still.
-
So he stands there verse 41, the 11th chapter of Luke and he says
-
roll the stone away and malted like, whoa, wait a minute,
-
Jesus. He's been in there for days,
-
it's going to stink. Listen.
-
What we're preaching right now. We'll do more than your paycheck
-
could ever do and you'll work a 40-hour week for a paycheck, but
-
in less than two hours, I'm going to unlock the universe for
-
you. But now, if you cut out, then
-
you'll miss the key and you'll live for your 40 hour week and
-
your paycheck instead of unlocking Heaven at your
-
disposal. Tis the roll, the stone away and
-
I don't do it. Jesus then says Lazarus, come
-
forth. Where is he?
-
I don't know. Now again gotta get context,
-
he's bound. He's laid on a shelf.
-
He's got to get off. Nobody went in to help him out.
-
So he's doing this to get out. We don't know the time frame
-
that it took him to show off in the entrance before Jesus said,
-
now go on loose him and let him go.
-
So there's a time frame at that point, a lot of people when
-
something's moving in the darkness that you don't see what
-
did we do. Well Martha, I tried, I tried.
-
I mean, I guess, I guess, you know, he will be resurrected
-
with me later on, you know, I thought that I would be at a
-
call him out but it didn't happen.
-
No. It's just I guess it was I guess
-
the father knew what's best that he just wanted to take him home
-
be as little angel. God does not change human beings
-
into angels that doesn't happen. So, that's false theology.
-
Anyway. No, Jesus was confident that
-
when I call his name, he's going to hear me.
-
I'll pull him up out of the ditch.
-
Out of the Grave. He's gonna get back in that skin
-
suit. He's going to come out and
-
nothing else. Other than that will take place.
-
Do you pray that way? Jesus is away from the moment
-
and they come and say hey Gia Lazarus is sick to the point.
-
It can you come jiejie sister? It's not a sickness unto death
-
and he stayed two more days which means when he got along
-
depraved and what am I supposed to like?
-
He's like, don't worry about it son, I'll have you.
-
Raising because son, I want you to know that if I can pull a man
-
out of the grave in four days, son, I'll get you in three.
-
So don't worry about two days passed, he said we got to go
-
Lazarus. You know?
-
He's asleep. It's obvious says, what?
-
If you sleep you wake up? He said no he's dead.
-
He died. Let's go.
-
So he shows up then integrate for days.
-
And it's Jesus prayer. O Lord if it's your will God
-
Almighty, if it's all-wheel Heavenly Father up above you're
-
so high and mighty and you ain't control of all things and I just
-
pray a see Chabad you today that would you please at the mercy of
-
who you are fries? Please, please, please.
-
Oh dear, God. Please raised Lazarus from the
-
dead and restore him. Kindly to his wonderful family.
-
Lackey did even pray to God. He just said, Dad, I think you
-
always hear me. So, in essence, he didn't pray
-
Lazarus on the great. He had already settled that in
-
prayer before he showed up. He gave the command of his dad,
-
dad? I thank you that you always hear
-
me. I know you hear me.
-
I'm only saying this because they don't know.
-
I got this in prayer already. That's why I'm saying this
-
Lazarus come forth. This is the confidence that we
-
have. This is the confidence that we
-
have before him. That if we ask anything
-
according to his will he hears us our prayer always works when
-
you know the will of God quit staying in the Old Testament,
-
his ways are higher than our ways.
-
They are get over to the New Covenant.
-
I have the mind of Christ. The Holy Ghost lives in me.
-
He's listening to Jesus. Jesus is seated at the right
-
hand of the father. He's talking to the Holy Ghost,
-
he's in me. He's telling me, it's actually
-
what Dad wants. And I'll prove to you next week,
-
maybe or the week after that, Jesus is up to this time.
-
You've not asked to Father am be anything in my name, but when
-
you ask the father in my name, he will do it.
-
And if your prayer life is not, he will do it and he does it
-
every top. Then you still don't know how to
-
break. And that's not arrogance.
-
That's confidence that God's word can't fail.
-
And I'm not giving God a pass to not do his word, nor has he
-
given us a pass not to enact his work.
-
So what God says I am I am. Well, God says I can do, I can
-
do what God tells me to pray. I can pray, you get it done
-
because it shall come to pass. It's time for the church church
-
to rise up in prayer and do the Ministry.
-
Jesus is doing right now who's interceding for us, you know
-
what he's praying. He's like get it Saints.
-
Get this prayer, like get this prayer life, dismissed rare,
-
like, talk to me. Would you please have a
-
conversation with me? And I'll Enlighten you, I will
-
open up your heart. I will reveal things in your
-
mind and you can release what I say and it will always come to
-
pass. church to rise up in prayer and do the Ministry.
