  1. You're listening to the Anchor Faith Church message podcast,

  2. enjoy the message. Did you have a good

  3. Thanksgiving? Did you eat enough?

  4. Did you eat too much? That's kind of where I want to

  5. start out today. Talking about food, I want to go

  6. to first Thessalonians chapter 5.

    1 Thessalonians 5 chapter mention

  7. Kind of start off with a buffet that the Apostle Paul spoke to

  8. this church at thessalonica. You know, that the Apostle Paul

  9. was only there for a what they say, three Sabbath's or less.

  10. In a month. At this particular City, this

  11. Roman colony. And, you know, there's been

  12. meetings of a moment that's had a lifetime of impact.

  13. And so, this is a very short time that he physically spent

  14. with them, but it had a lifetime of impact.

  15. So, right out of the gate today, I wanted as Believers.

  16. How many Believers? Spirit-filled blood bot?

  17. Jesus, love and truth walking. Believers, do we have in the

  18. room today? So, I'm just challenge you this

  19. week, as you go out as you're in the marketplace, whether you're

  20. at the gas station, the grocery store the bank at your place of

  21. employment. Wherever you go, you're a change

  22. agent and I will God wants you to see yourself that way because

  23. there's meetings of a moment that's having a lifetime of

  24. impact and God will make Divine appointments for you this week

  25. to be a What we call an ambassador and second

    2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention

  26. Corinthians chapter 5. The word says that you're an

  27. ambassador of Christ. You have the ministry of

  28. reconciliation whereby, you can tell love others, truth that

  29. will completely transform their life, take them out of Darkness,

  30. bring them out into light, take them out of fear, bring them

  31. into Faith, taking them out of hopelessness and bring him into

  32. Destiny and hope, right? So you are a Believer Spirit

  33. lead and God wants to use you this.

  34. This week in 1st Thessalonians, chapter 5, though to at the last

  35. chapter of this book that the Apostle Paul wrote to this

  36. church. He really gives a buffet type

  37. approach and I'm going to read this starting in verse number

  38. 12. I know my Thanksgiving started a

  39. little bit early on Wednesday. We had the opportunity to

  40. fellowship with some church friends after service on

  41. Wednesday night. And in doing that, they brought

  42. a couple different things with them.

  43. One was mint chocolate chip ice cream. and the other was, if I

  44. got though the right flavor, it was a chocolate Trinity and it

  45. was divine And then we spill on into to Thursday, right?

  46. Get the opportunity to have Thanksgiving with some church

  47. family and there was just a smorgasbord of different items

  48. there. Hallelujah.

  49. They had something I tried for the first time called lamb.

  50. That was pretty good and they had a couple different turkeys.

  51. They had a honey-baked ham. Hallelujah.

  52. They had green bean casserole, they had some green beans.

  53. I think they were kind of marinated in teary Aki sauce and

  54. I think it had bacon too and that was good.

  55. I can talk to the a 30 crew like this because the 11:00 service

  56. may not survive. You know, their stomachs may be

  57. talking louder than their spirit.

  58. But anyways, I'm getting to a point and then, you know, you

  59. always leave a little bit of room for dessert, right?

  60. And so, I went to the dessert table and you know how it is

  61. when you're at a buffet, you go. The first time, just to kind of

  62. get a little bit of everything and then you kind of zero in on

  63. what you actually want, right? So, I had a variety of desserts,

  64. you know, there was a vanilla wafer cookies with what a this,

  65. this brown stuff is what my daughter called, it gray stuff,

  66. but it was really just some kind of chocolate But with Oreos

  67. crush up in it that you dip the wafers in got the traditional

  68. pumpkin pie but then one person have brought some cheesecake but

  69. pineapple cheesecake. I said, hmm, I don't have

  70. pineapple cheesecake go together but let me try this thing and I

  71. tell you was so scrumdiddlyumptious that I went

  72. back for seconds on that. Amen.

  73. Are you with me Church? Anyways, the greatest Buffet

  74. we're getting ready to take of right now.

  75. Spiritually is in 1st. After five because Paul sort of

  76. just lays out this great Buffet of spiritual truths and we're

  77. going to launch out from here today.

  78. So follow along with me and on your digital device or if you

  79. have a hard copy Bible, either one, but follow along because

  80. the word is, what sets us free. Hey man, I just want to

  81. encourage you to we're taking a little pause because pastor of

  82. Marcy are investing in the grandkids.

  83. But boy, has he been on fire with his love series and what

  84. great reville reville? Elation and Truth.

  85. Is he being laid out? I feel like you know, there's

  86. certain things that are being said, you know, in his day

  87. Martin Luther had this Revelation that the just shall

  88. live by faith and as pastors preaching on love, I'm thinking

  89. the church at hold needs this across the world because love

  90. has been misconstrued and missed a fine in the church needs.

  91. What's being sus pokin behind this Podium?

  92. You know on Sundays we need this Revelation on love, God's love,

  93. just not The the world says about love, but what does the

  94. word say about love? Amen.

  95. So first Thessalonians chapter 5.

    1 Thessalonians 5 chapter mention

  96. Verse number 12, I'm reading from the new King James version

  97. and it says, we urge, you Brethren to recognize those who

  98. labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish.

  99. Ooh! Hallelujah!

  100. You know, we could stop on each of these verses and just you

  101. know just teach but we're going to just take this a big buffet

  102. and then we're going to zero in on one point.

  103. Amen. And it says to us esteem them

  104. very highly in love for their work sake and then it says this

  105. be at peace among yourselves. Now we exhort your brother and

  106. warn those who are unruly that's love, isn't it?

  107. Warn those who are unruly Comfort the faint-hearted and

  108. boy, man, there's a lot going on.

  109. If you just watch the news, guess what you can get

  110. faint-hearted. It says, Is to uphold the weak

  111. glory to God. Be patient with some be patient

  112. with all. See that no one renders evil for

  113. evil to anyone but always pursue what is good both for yourselves

  114. and for all verse 16 Rejoice sometimes Rejoice, when the

  115. circumstances are just right Rejoice always Rejoice rejoice.

  116. It says pray without ceasing. One translation says, develop an

  117. attitude or cultivate an attitude of Prayer in

  118. everything. Give thanks for.

  119. This is, the will of God in Christ Jesus.

  120. For you, do not quench the spirit.

  121. Do not quench the spirit. Thank God for the Holy Ghost.

  122. But you realize you couldn't quench suppress stifle the holy

  123. spirit in your life. Do not despise.

  124. Prophecies you ever been to one of those Services where you been

  125. praying for people to come? A relative, a friend a co-worker

  126. and then all of a sudden a tongue comes that service,

  127. right? Usually happens when you invite

  128. somebody that has never heard of tongue and interpretation.

  129. Right? But the Bible says despise not

  130. prophecies that divide utterance and inspiration of God for that

  131. moment. All right, we want to embrace

  132. matter of fact. The Bible says to earnestly

  133. desire the best gifts and sometimes I wonder coming to

  134. church if it's just routine, or are we really coming with an

  135. expectation for the Holy Ghost to move?

  136. Is there an Earnest desire for you to see the Holy Ghost move?

  137. Because this isn't just words, it should be demonstrations of

  138. the spirit that take place, a man, so we don't want to despise

  139. prophecies, listen to verse 21, it says, Is test one

  140. translation, says prove, all things.

  141. And it says hold fast that which is good.

  142. He reminds me of one time that a minister came home and saw that

  143. a young man was holding his daughter.

  144. And he said, what are you doing? He said I'm holding fast to

  145. that, which is good. That's not that scripture.

  146. Amen. It says, abstain from every form

  147. of evil verse 23. Now may the God of Peace himself

  148. sanctify. You completely sanctify, you

  149. completely. Now, may the very God of Peace

  150. himself sanctify. You completely.

  151. Now, this is Paul by inspiration of the Holy Spirit right into

  152. the church. So sanctification, even though

  153. we've been bought through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ,

  154. the payment has been made. We are redeemed.

  155. There is an ongoing Fine work of sanctification in our life, not

  156. with your spirit, your spirits mid-may been.

  157. I've been made brand new. The Bible says in second

    2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention

  158. Corinthians chapter 5, If any man be in Christ, behold, all

  159. things have become new old things, have passed away.

  160. All things have become new. What's new?

  161. The, the spirit man that was separated from God, that was

  162. born into the sin. Nature has been paid for you,

  163. get a brand new spirit. You're a brand new person on the

  164. inside, but guess what? Your body and your Soul have not

  165. changed. Right?

  166. If you were bald headed before, you got born again, your

  167. bald-headed after you get born again and guess what?

  168. Just because you come to the Altar and receive the great

  169. payment of what the Lord Jesus did for us when you get up from

  170. the altar or the prayer, worker leads you through that prayer,

  171. just doesn't matter. The automatically mean that your

  172. soul realm otter automatically your mind, your soul is your

  173. mind, your will, your emotions automatically is renewed.

  174. All of a sudden, you have all these Heavenly thoughts.

  175. No, There's still a battle daily between the spirit and the flesh

  176. is what Galatians says, right? But he, that's what he's saying.

  177. So I've paid the price for you, spiritually, your brand new

  178. creature, but listen, you need to go on in this.

  179. This work of sanctification in your soul realm and your body.

  180. Amen. Well let's just pause right

  181. there. Go to Romans chapter 12.

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  182. I want y'all to see this and we'll come back to this Buffet.

  183. Romans chapter 12 verse number 1 and 2 says this.

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  184. I'm getting there. All right, it says, I beseech

  185. you Brethren by the mercies of God that you that you that, you

  186. present, your bodies, a Living Sacrifice.

  187. Right. Holy acceptable, to God, which

  188. is your reasonable service. So what do you do you present

  189. your body, a Living Sacrifice holy acceptable to God, which is

  190. your reasonable service and do not be conformed to this world

  191. but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

  192. That you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect

  193. will of God. So God's tell you do something

  194. with your body and with your mind This is the ongoing work of

  195. sanctification. Okay.

  196. So going back to 1st Thessalonians, chapter 5.

  197. He said I pray that your whole body, right?

  198. Be preserved, but sanctify be preserved blameless until the

  199. coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And then I like what it says to

  200. end this section that we're reading.

  201. He said in verse 24 he who calls you is faithful.

  202. He will also do it. Hey Min sohee that called you is

  203. faithful and Pastor has been hammering.

  204. This home. Listen Church, salvation isn't

  205. just about getting you to heaven.

  206. It does include that but there is a calling, there's a destiny.

  207. There's a purpose for your life in the earth.

  208. That's why I said your change agents this week.

  209. As you got in the community, man.

  210. God has a destiny. Has a plan has the anointing has

  211. the grace upon your life, to go out and make a difference

  212. through truth. Amen.

  213. He that called you as faithful. So there's a Divine assignment.

  214. Everybody say that there's a Divine assignment for me, let's

  215. say it again. There's a Divine assignment for

  216. me so doesn't matter if you're eight years old or 80 years old,

  217. There's still a work in the Earth for God to use you to

  218. accomplish through you this week.

  219. This month this year, he that called you is faithful and he

  220. will do it. Now let's go over to Ephesians

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  221. chapter 6 verse number 18. Ephesians chapter 6 verse number

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  222. 18. And I want you to jot this down.

  223. If you're taking notes because you know, you got to have

  224. takeaways from church, And you need to study the word of God,

  225. okay? And so I'm going to give you a

  226. lots of scripture today for you to go home and be a disciple, a

  227. discipline learner of Truth. Amen.

  228. And so in Ephesians chapter 6, verse number 18 is one of them.

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  229. John chapter 15 verse number 7 is another scripture.

    John 15 chapter mention

  230. I want you to jot down and go back and look at this week.

  231. Amen. And of course, Mark chapter 11

    Mark 11:22

  232. verses 22 through. 24 are some others.

  233. These are all. Prayer scriptures.

  234. That I'm giving you, okay? So Ephesians chapter 6 verse

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  235. number 18, John chapter 15 verse number 7 and Mark chapter 11

John 15 chapter mention Mark 11:22–24

  236. verses 22 through 24. There's a lot that you can learn

  237. about prayer through these three scriptures.

  238. There's others in the Bible, obviously.

  239. But really, you could build a strong foundation for a

  240. successful prayer life off of these three scriptures.

  241. So, if you want to go further with God, you want to go deeper

  242. with God. Odd.

  243. If you just getting these three scriptures, you really set a

  244. good foundation for having a great prayer, life and great

  245. fellowship with the Lord, John 15:7 says, if you abide in the

    John 15:7

  246. word of God and the word of God abides in you, One translation

  247. says, if you stay vitally connected to the word of God and

  248. the message lives in your heart. You shall ask what you will and

  249. it shall be done. Sometimes, I wonder if prayers

  250. are hindered or unanswered because we're not abiding in the

  251. word body means to be remain to be present.

  252. It's really like roll call at school as they're calling.

  253. Your last name. Are you here?

  254. Yes, nobody means I'm present. I'm there, I'm active in the

  255. word of God and one of the greatest things you can do.

  256. As a believer in your walk with the Lord, as a thing called

  257. meditation. Meditation will keep you in a

  258. constant state of abiding. You realize everybody's thinking

  259. about something. I mean you watch the news,

  260. right? You start to get a thought

  261. process about something. You look at your smartphone, you

  262. start to get a thought process about something, right, emails?

  263. Everything external. He's just driven to really

  264. program what we think. But God says, listen, I want you

  265. to abide in the word, there's no greater way to buy them to

  266. meditate, and if you're going to think about something, you might

  267. as well think about the word. What does meditation mean?

  268. Meditation means to revolve it over and over again in your

  269. mind. I like going to multiple

  270. translations and just looking at At it, from a little different

  271. view. It's all saying the same thing

  272. in context or in principle, but it's just a little different

  273. view of what's being said, right?

  274. And so meditation is really just muttering to yourself.

  275. You know, I can do all things through Christ, I can sometimes

  276. you just emphasize one word in the verse I can, I can not, I

  277. can or it might happen. Know, I can do all things.

  278. How through So abide in the word, stay vital United, the

  279. word, let the message live in your heart Mark 11:22 through

    Mark 11:22–24

  280. 24, another great foundation for a prayer, but listen in

  281. Ephesians chapter 6 verse number 18, the word of God says this

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  282. and I'm going to give this to you from a few different

  283. translations. Hallelujah.

  284. Aren't you thankful for the word of God?

  285. Man, it is the power of God. It is the power of God.

  286. Ephesians 6:18 says, it's praying.

    Ephesians 6:18

  287. Always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit,

  288. being watchful to this end with all perseverance and

  289. supplication for all the saints. So, praying always with all

  290. prayer and supplication in the spirit, being watchful to this

  291. end with all perseverance and supplication.

  292. Datian for all the saints. One translation says praying

  293. with all manner of prayer, another translation saying says

  294. praying with all kinds of prayer, so there's more than one

  295. type of Prayer. we kind of get stuck in a box one time and

  296. sometimes I think that prayers just asking God for things

  297. Right. Prayers are saying, Lord, this

  298. is my need. Please meet my need.

  299. But he says praying with all kinds of prayer, all manner of

  300. prayer and supplication in the spirit, you supplicate for

  301. believers because there is a prayer of intercession.

  302. So, we're talking about different kinds of prayer

  303. supplication. Is you got more umpf, more,

  304. desire, there's a, there's a fire on the inside and it's for

  305. believers, right? Kind of like, we're listening

  306. this love series. There's many Believers that That

  307. name the name of Christ. But we know that not are all are

  308. living up to standards are dimensions of Truth, like they

  309. should be. So there's an Earnest desire on

  310. the inside that you want to supplicate a burden, right?

  311. That says, father, man, I want to see the spirit of wisdom and

  312. Revelation, open up the eyes of their understanding, right?

  313. That they would know you the hope of your calling there's

  314. this this fire Jeremiah said it's like fire shut up in my

  315. bones and that's a supplication. Should be open to being led by

  316. the spirit in that recently. When I went to the Call to Arms

  317. with Pastor Earle, we were the Men's Conference in Oklahoma.

  318. We were able to have fellowship with Pastor Daryl Huffman and he

  319. was talking about the founder of our Bible School.

  320. Kenneth Hagin who's gone on and be home with gone on to be home,

  321. with the gone on to be home with the Lord.

  322. There we go. And he was talking about his

  323. prayer life, and he made a commitment to God.

  324. That said, anytime I get a burden to pray Lord, I'll stop

  325. whatever I'm doing and I'll pray.

  326. So they're at a meeting one time.

  327. They went out to Fellowship afterwards and he's eaten.

  328. They had just ordered the food just came and all of a sudden,

  329. he looked at the minister said, hey I need you to take me home

  330. right now and The Minister's like what?

  331. We just got our food. He said I need to go right now

  332. and on the way home in the car, Kenneth Hagin said, listen, I

  333. made a promise to the Lord. If I ever get an unction or a

  334. burden of pray, I'll stop whatever I'm doing and pray.

  335. So they walked into the place where they were staying the

  336. minister and just about 50 minutes.

  337. Brother Hagin just start praying in the spirit until we got to a

  338. breakthrough. Her He's but he had a

  339. supplication of Burden Earnest desire to pray and he prayed

  340. until he got a breakthrough. And so that Minister learned a

  341. great lesson that day from him, but he was supplicating or

  342. interceding for someone. So you intercede for the lost

  343. you supplicate for believers, those are two different types of

  344. prayers, right? The intercede, the word and

  345. means they're, you're trying to get them in to the kingdom of

  346. God. Right?

  347. And that's not an accident. It's not the sovereignty of God.

  348. It is seedtime and harvest It's you praying for Laborers to be

  349. sent across their path. So if you have a relative or

  350. friend, a co-worker, that's not in the kingdom of God, you can

  351. start praying according to the word of God and say, father, I

  352. pray for Laborers. Matthew chapter 9, verse 37 says

    Matthew 9:37

  353. the the harvest is plentiful. There's plenty of people that

  354. need truth out there but the laborers are few.

  355. Pray to the Lord of the Harvest. Isn't it?

  356. Interesting that God just as an automatically released, laborers

  357. into his Harvest he said you have to ask me.

  358. You know why? Because we are supposed to rain

  359. in this earth as kings. Amen.

  360. So we have to ask God to send out laborers into the Harvest

  361. field. So there's that kind of

  362. pressure. There's a prayer of faith, which

  363. that's what most of us, pray, the prayer of faith changes

  364. things for you. Do you realize that you really

  365. only have authority to pray the prayer of faith in your

  366. household? Right now.

  367. If somebody comes to me and they say, I want you to pray the

  368. prayer of faith with me, that would actually combine the

  369. prayer of agreement with them, but they have to be in faith

  370. when we pray. If you give access to someone

  371. else to agree with you, then they can join together with you

  372. in the prayer of faith and see things change in your life.

  373. But I can't pray, you know, this person's bugging me.

  374. And I need you to you know, you need to take care of them.

  375. God. That's like the sons of thunder

  376. call down fire from heaven. And Jesus said, you don't know

  377. what Spirit your of, right. So the prayer faith is really

  378. for you individually and really, for your household.

  379. Even with spouses, you can't really even prayer the prayer of

  380. faith for your spouse. You could pray it with your

  381. spouse, you get that. You can't really pray it for

  382. them. You could pray it with him.

  383. Okay, so there's a prayer Faith. There's a prayer of agreement in

  384. Philippians chapter 4 Hallelujah, we're getting to

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  385. that pineapple cheesecake, and we're going to get a couple

  386. slices of that today, but right now it's just the buffet.

  387. Amen, in Philippians chapter 4 verse number 6.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  388. Philippians chapter 4 verse number 6.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  389. So, there's different kinds of prayer and we need to make sure

  390. that we're understand that and that we want.

  391. Do you want your prayer life to be effective?

  392. You know? Do you want to be successful?

  393. Yes, you know Pastor. Oh, said this for years, we just

  394. don't. Now, we're not just a church

  395. that prayers where the church that gets answered.

  396. We're not, you're surprised were Church of gets answered prayers,

  397. right? And so you got to realize what

  398. different types of prayers, there's different types of rules

  399. and just like with sports, you can't take a basketball rules

  400. and apply them to football. Alleluia, you can't take hockey

  401. rules and apply them to soccer, right?

  402. And that's how we are sometimes. We kind of take all these

  403. things. We shake it together and hope

  404. it's going to work. But we live by faith.

  405. Not by just hope, right? And faith is a conviction based

  406. upon the word of God. So I'm telling your church.

  407. If you want a successful prayer life, you need to understand.

  408. There's a prayer supplication. There's a prayer of

  409. intercession, there's a prayer of faith.

  410. There's a prayer of agreement. There's United prayer, corporate

  411. prayer happens at 10:00. And man, the corporate anointing

  412. is strong. I would encourage you and

  413. challenge you at 10:00 come from 10 to 10:45 come expecting.

  414. Come. To participate and man, there's

  415. a United prayer that happens from 10 to 10:45 and an axe,

  416. chapter 4, when they all got together.

  417. Verse number 23, to in one place in one location, the place shook

  418. Because there was a corporate anointing, there was a United

  419. prayer that was taken place and corporate prayer is powerful in

  420. Philippians 4, though. There's also a prayer of what we

  421. call commitment, or casting your cares on the Lord.

  422. So it says this in Philippians chapter 4.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  423. Verse number 6, it says be anxious.

  424. For some things, no, be anxious for what, nothing?

  425. Be anxious for nothing, be anxious for nothing, but in

  426. everything by prayer and supplication with with, with let

  427. your requests be made known to God.

  428. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will

  429. guard your hearts and your minds through Christ.

  430. Jesus. Think about that.

  431. The peace of God. God's Peace Garden your heart

  432. and your mind. I don't know about you, but this

  433. year has been radically different than years past.

  434. There's been a lot going on in our nation and the world this

  435. year, a lot of stuff that could disturb you agitate.

  436. You get you anxious, fill you full of anxiety.

  437. From the pandemic to the riots to the election.

  438. Listen church, I got good news. No matter what happens with the

  439. election. God will see you through.

  440. You maintain your walk in your righteousness with him and he

  441. will see you through Daniel went into captivity about 17 years

  442. old. He went into captivity, right?

  443. He stayed right in captivity and came out of captivity, right?

  444. So you just maintain your righteousness.

  445. Even in the midst of captivity, Daniel serving Heathen Kings.

  446. And really it was a failure of the church.

  447. It became a kingdom sanction because through idolatry and

  448. living like the world. They were overthrown by the

  449. enemy, but even in the midst of that, you can have great peace.

  450. If you maintain righteousness in your walk with God, and Daniel

  451. was able to do great exploits. Daniel, 11:32 says those that

  452. know their God shall be strong and do great exploits so it

  453. doesn't matter. Sometimes God will show himself

  454. strong through the Mists of great, persecution.

  455. The lines in the fiery furnace, guess what?

  456. God delivered him out of all. So there's been a lot going on

  457. this year and you don't need. You do not need worldly

  458. medication to get peace in your life.

  459. I am telling the truth of the word will liberate you and set

  460. you free. And give you the peace of God,

  461. but you have to do this prayer of commitment.

  462. Which means cast throw, I like in funds.

  463. Psalms 55:22, the message says this, it says, put your burdens

    Psalms 55:22

  464. on the lowered shoulders and He will carry them.

  465. So you don't have to carry the burden, the weight, the anxiety

  466. of what's going on. You just need to be in alignment

  467. with the king of kings and with the Lord of lords.

  468. Hallelujah. And he will take care of you.

  469. And watch over you and sustain you, amen.

  470. So another translation says this, this is the way

  471. translation. It says, let no anxieties fret

  472. you met in every matter. Let the things you would ask me

  473. made known by means of Prayer by definite request.

  474. Linked linked with Thanksgiving at God's Throne.

  475. The basic translation says it like this, have no cares, but in

  476. everything with prayer and praise put your request.

  477. Before God, listen to what the message.

  478. Translation says, the paraphrase, don't fret or worry

  479. instead of worrying, pray, let petitions and praises.

  480. Let petitions and Praises shape your worries into prayers

  481. letting God know your concerns before you know it a sense of

  482. God's holiness everything coming together for good will come and

  483. settle you down. It's wonderful.

  484. What happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of

  485. your life? Hallelujah.

  486. Uh, so that's the prayer commit, where we were just rolling

  487. concerns in any situation in life, whatever happens always

  488. ask yourself this question. What does the Bible say, if you

  489. start to get anxious about work tomorrow, what does the Bible

  490. say it Financial finance and start to worry you.

  491. What does the Bible say? If you need change in your life,

  492. if you need healing, what does the Bible say, right?

  493. If you need strength in the marriage, covenant, What does

  494. the Bible say? If you're depressed down

  495. discourage, what does the Bible say?

  496. Say, Amen. So this is the pineapple

  497. cheesecake. And it's this thing called

  498. Thanksgiving or praise. Thanksgiving her praise

  499. Thanksgiving. Her praise.

  500. Go with me to chapter of Acts chapter 16.

    Acts 16 chapter mention

  501. Acts chapter 16. And let's start in verse.

    Acts 16 chapter mention

  502. Number 6. Hallelujah.

  503. You know what? Let's just go back to verse

  504. number 1. And let's just read a good

  505. portion of scripture this morning, amen.

  506. So follow along with me. Verse number 1, then he came to

  507. derbe and lystra and be heard, they're the behold.

  508. There was a certain disciple was there named Timothy.

  509. The son of a certain Jewish woman who believe, but his

  510. father was Greek. One of the reasons I backed up

  511. and start in verse number 1 was because it's good to see in the

  512. word, the daily activities of the disciples because you need

  513. to see yourself in Daily activity with God.

  514. So just think about it if you put yourself in their shoes

  515. their following God. And so Paul comes to do two

  516. different locations. And guess what?

  517. He meets a man named Timothy Right?

  518. And he was well spoken of by the brother who are in lystra and

  519. Iconium Paul wanted to have him, go on with him and took and he

  520. took him in circumcise him because of the Jews who are in

  521. that region for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

  522. So an instant mentorship takes place in the life of a Young Man

  523. by The Apostle. Paul, what's God going to do

  524. with you this week? And as they went through the

  525. cities as they went through this City's, they delivered to them

  526. the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and

  527. Elders at Jerusalem. So, listen, the churches were

  528. strengthened in the faith and increased in number daily.

  529. Now, this next prayer is a prayer of what we would call

  530. dedication. And the prayer of dedication or

  531. submission to the will of God and that's just saying God, what

  532. do you want me to do with my life, right?

  533. So we see the Apostle Paul verse number 6.

  534. Now when they are gone through fit frigg phrygia and the region

  535. of galatia they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the

  536. word Neza. So the Holy Spirit actually said

  537. don't go to this location. The Holy Spirit, restrain them

  538. from being at a certain place at a certain time, but they were

  539. seeking God. And there were asking for a

  540. direction right after that, come to my Zia, they try to go to

  541. Bethany about the spirit did not permit them.

  542. Second time the Holy Ghost restrain them from being in a

  543. certain place, you know, God knows exactly where you need to

  544. be when you need to be there. And it's just not a shotgun

  545. approach with God. God is very accurate in his

  546. dealings with humanity and with the Destiny for your life.

  547. So, so passing by Messiah, they came down to troas and a vision

  548. appeared to Paul in the night. So they're just seeking God with

  549. all their heart asking. What direction do you want us to

  550. go? Now after they had seen the

  551. vision? Well let's read the vision.

  552. A man of Macedonia, this is the vision stood over and pleaded

  553. with Paul saying come over to me.

  554. Macedonian help us. So this is a vision that he had

  555. at night. Now, after seeing the vision

  556. immediately, I like that immediately we sought to go to

  557. Macedonia concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the

  558. gospel to them. Therefore so man, they made

  559. every effort to be where God told them to be there for

  560. sailing from Truro, as we ran a straight course.

  561. And the next day we came to neapolis and from there to

  562. Philippi So they landed in Philippi which is the foremost

  563. city of that part of Macedonia. So because of a vision, they get

  564. to City the chief City Philippi in Macedonia, and they stayed in

  565. that City for some days and on the Sabbath day.

  566. So they're just looking for opportunity.

  567. In this city to do, whatever God wants them to do.

  568. And on the Sabbath day, we went out of the city to the

  569. Riverside, where prayer was customarily.

  570. Made and we sat down there and we spoke to the woman who met

  571. their now, they meet, they meet a female entrepreneur.

  572. Now, a certain woman named Lydia heard us.

  573. She was a seller of purple from a certain city.

  574. She worshipped God and the Lord opened her heart to he the

  575. things spoken by Paul. So the first encounter in

  576. Philippi was with a lady of female lady, that's old clothes.

  577. And then it says, and when she and her household were baptized,

  578. she begged us saying, if you have judged me to be faithful to

  579. the Lord, come to my house and stay.

  580. So she persuaded us. So one lady in her family starts

  581. a church in Philippi. Now it happened verse 16 second

  582. encounter. Hallelujah, it happened is.

  583. We went to prayer that a certain slave girl possessed with a

  584. spirit of divination met us, a fortune teller.

  585. A palm reader, right? This girl followed Paul and us,

  586. they cried out. And she cried out saying, these

  587. men are the Servants of the most high, God, who proclaimed to us

  588. the way of salvation. And this she did for many days.

  589. So can you imagine some of us went last five minutes.

  590. If somebody's following you around a fortune teller saying

  591. this is the servant of most high God.

  592. It'll be annoying, right? But for many days, they didn't

  593. say anything. But then Paul it says he was

  594. greatly annoyed. Hallelujah.

  595. Turn and said to the spirit member, we don't wrestle against

  596. flesh and blood but against principalities and Powers rulers

  597. of wickedness in high places, he turned to the spirit that was

  598. motivating and driving this woman.

  599. And he said, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ, man.

  600. This week's going to be exciting for you.

  601. Come out of her. And he came out that very hour.

  602. Whoo, so Deliverance. So you think things are going to

  603. get better. Let's read verse number 19.

  604. So we start with the lady. That was an entrepreneur.

  605. Her family gets born again, we get another demonically

  606. possessed, lady delivered. So we're seeing the church start

  607. to increase with a variety of people, right?

  608. It says, when her master's the palm reader, the fortune tellers

  609. Masters, saw that their hope of profit was gone.

  610. They seized Paul and Silas. Silas.

  611. Right. And they drag them into the, to

  612. the marketplace, to the authorities.

  613. They brought them to the magistrates and said, these men

  614. being Jews. They trouble our city,

  615. Hallelujah. And then a days ahead.

  616. We need to be ready. Church.

  617. You know, America has had a great time of being having a

  618. great amount of religious freedom.

  619. But there are certain principalities and Powers

  620. working behind people that want to restrict that and even

  621. persecute that and prosecute that Are you with me?

  622. I'm telling you, there's certain principalities and powers that

  623. one, a lock-up religious freedom, even meeting in a place

  624. like this, being able to hear the word of God freely.

  625. They want to not just persecuted, but prosecute it put

  626. a clamp down on what you can and can't say such as the biblical

  627. definition of marriage. But we're of good.

  628. Share. We stay in the will of God, we

  629. maintain our righteousness and God will take Take care of us.

  630. So because this lady got delivered, she quit doing what

  631. she was doing. There was repentance in her

  632. life, she turned from fortune telling and start to serve God

  633. and then the people that were her master's got mad because all

  634. their money disappeared from the palm reading.

  635. She's doing. So they take Paul and Silas,

  636. they said we're going to you're messing with our profit.

  637. We're going to mess with you. And so, listen, they, they went

  638. through before the city council and the magistrates tore their

  639. clothes, commanded them to be beaten with rods.

  640. And when they laid, many stripes on them, they threw them into

  641. prison. Commanding in the commanding,

  642. the Jailer to keep them securely.

  643. Having received such a charge. He put them in the inner prison

  644. and fastened their feet in the stocks or in Chains.

  645. So man. Could you imagine they tried to

  646. go to two different places? The Holy Spirit forbid them,

  647. they had a vision to go to fill a pie and mash Donia, they went

  648. and here. They find themselves in prison.

  649. Some people thinking God, did I miss you?

  650. That wasn't a dream. That was a nightmare. but right

  651. in the midst of it, Right in the midst of it, they knew their in

  652. the will of God, they knew there's a Grace there, there's

  653. the anointing, the Holy Ghost. And verse number 25, what they

  654. do? They start to complain.

  655. Do they start to gripe? Do they start to grumble?

  656. Right. It says, at midnight, Paul and

  657. Silas were praying and singing they were praying and they were

  658. praying, and they were praying. And so there's a combination of

  659. things going on, right? They were praying and singing,

  660. Now, this wasn't This Little Light of Mine, I'm gonna know

  661. that. Listen, they were singing hymns

  662. of God, the prisoners were listening, so they were vocal

  663. about it. They were allowed about it. and

  664. listen, it says, suddenly Some people want suddenly is in their

  665. life. Things to happen breakthrough.

  666. Are you lying in yourself up through faith, median, the

  667. god-given qualifications for a suddenly to happen.

  668. I guarantee you if they were grumbling, if there were

  669. complaining, if they were backbiting, if they were

  670. doubting, I guarantee you there's no.

  671. Suddenly that takes place. The Bible says they were praying

  672. and singing hymns to God and the prisoners heard them.

  673. And then suddenly there was a great earthquake.

  674. So the foundations of the prison were shaken and immediately all

  675. the doors were open and everyone's chains were loosed.

  676. The Keeper of the prison Awakening from sleep and seeing

  677. the prison doors open. Supposing the prisoners had fled

  678. drew, his sword is about to kill himself.

  679. He knew that the prisoners escaped, it was on his life.

  680. But Paul called with a loud voice saying, do yourself no

  681. harm for we all here and then he called for a light.

  682. He ran in, he fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.

  683. So he start at a by the riverbank with Lydia, we see a

  684. demon girl, that was possessed, get delivered, we see her

  685. master's get mad because their prophets God throws him into

  686. prison. Now, we see a Jailer, what a

  687. great way to start a church. A jailer.

  688. Falling down before them and he said, sir, what must I do to be

  689. saved. So they said believe on the

  690. Lord, Jesus Christ, you and you and you will be saved you and

  691. your household, then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and

  692. all who were with him in the house, he took in that same hour

  693. the night and washed their stripes, man, it's amazing.

  694. What the love of God will do. They were beaten with rods but

  695. this same jailers cleaning the wounds man.

  696. Only the kingdom of God can cure prejudiced.

  697. As many laws is America or any other Nation tries to put in

  698. place to get equality across the board.

  699. It's the kingdom of God, that truly, truly, truly liberates

  700. and brings people together. And unites I'm looking at a

  701. multi-ethnic church right now. Hallelujah of Believers that

  702. love one another. With the love of Christ, because

  703. we abide by the love, the love and the law of God.

  704. Amen. And so says immediately hit his

  705. family were baptized. Now when he had brought them

  706. into his house, he said food before them and he rejoiced, and

  707. I had believed in a god with him and all of us household, I like

  708. that because it's just not one person getting saved whole

  709. households coming into the kingdom of God.

  710. Now, let's go back to Philippians chapter 4.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  711. Because where was Paul at in Acts chapter 16 at Philippi.

    Acts 16 chapter mention

  712. So we get a glimpse in his letter.

  713. Of things that he's experiencing right while he was there.

  714. So we go back to Philippians chapter 4.

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  715. And verse number 6, it says be anxious for nothing, right?

  716. But in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving,

  717. let your requests be made known to God.

  718. Do you realize that Paul practice what he preached?

  719. So he was at midnight and then that can be symbolic in your

  720. life of the darkest moment, or the most distressed, you're

  721. having or the most oppression, you're experiencing, or the most

  722. impression that you're going through midnight.

  723. They literally wrap, midnight, singing, hymns and songs to God.

  724. But at midnight in your life, A lot of us have experienced

  725. difficult times tribulations trials, but God's telling the

  726. church today there is a prayer of Thanksgiving that you need to

  727. mix with your other prayers. If you want to get breakthrough

  728. in your life, it says with prayers and praise or with

  729. singing and praise and thanksgiving.

  730. Go hand-in-hand. So I'm asking your church hat.

  731. How's your prayer of Thanksgiving like your praise

  732. life. You're worshipping of God

  733. worship is just not slow music. Worship is an attitude of the

  734. heart. Where your over filled with

  735. gratitude for what Christ has done for you and your bowing

  736. down on the inside and saying, my God, my God, my God, thank

  737. you that you're for me. Thank you that you've redeemed

  738. me. You know, we have the gospel,

  739. the good news. Thank God, that he's saved us.

  740. We're going to heaven, but there's also a promise of

  741. healing man, if you've been through trouble as a child, if

  742. you've been abused, if you've been neglected, Jesus said, the

  743. spirit of the Lord is upon me to heal the brokenhearted.

  744. Broken hearted, man. That's a praiseworthy thing.

  745. When you say all the mess that I've been through, you've turned

  746. it into a message. All of the tests that I've been

  747. through, you turned it into a testimony.

  748. I know this boy, this young man in 1993, after I graduate from

  749. high, school had no idea what I wanted to do lost man without an

  750. anchor drifting in the ocean so to speak nothing.

  751. It had no idea what I wanted to do drinking party and lifting

  752. but God But God, but God one of the friends I used to run with

  753. in high school that party with me that lifted with me.

  754. You know. He got born again.

  755. I didn't. Well I stayed away from him

  756. because he was always talking about the things of Jesus and I

  757. didn't want to hear about it, but he was relentless what

  758. Relentless pursuit of Christ? Are you going to have this week

  759. in this community? And he would not give up on me

  760. and he kept on, calling me, finally, I just gave in to

  761. really get them to get off my back and went to a church

  762. conference and got born again. Hallelujah.

  763. Gave my life to the Lord in 1997.

  764. And you know what? It's been the best adventure for

  765. the last 23 years. And I'm thankful to God Almighty

  766. for all that he has done. All that is doing and man God is

  767. faithful to plant me at Rhema. Christian Center in Columbus,

  768. Ohio faithful to get me out of there to go to Broken Arrow.

  769. Oklahoma to go to Bible school and God just makes everything

  770. work out. Do your eyes or I'm thankful.

  771. That I connected with Pastor Earle Marcy.

  772. At that time, I mean we did jail Ministry together, youth jail

  773. detention center Ministry with him for a season stay connected

  774. with him in 2004. When they said they were going

  775. to start the church, we prayed about said we need to come.

  776. I'm thankful to God Almighty for his leading for his provision

  777. but it's with prayer and Thanksgiving that things are

  778. going to be manifest in your life.

  779. You'd have you heard people say I prayed and I prayed and I

  780. prayed and I prayed, but nothing changed.

  781. Have you heard that before? But have you ever heard?

  782. Anybody say I have praised and I've praised and I praised and

  783. nothing changed. No, you don't hear that.

  784. Because praise will get a breakthrough for you.

  785. Praise will bring down the walls of Jericho when you lift up your

  786. voice and say, oh my God, thank you for redeeming me.

  787. Thank you for the holy spirit's activity in my life.

  788. Listen, I want to close with this testimony and challenge you

  789. this week. Man, if you want true

  790. breakthrough, sustaining in your life, no matter what the

  791. circumstances are learn, how to activate a life of Praise.

  792. Did you notice in Philippians 4, it says make your requests known

  793. to God with one translation had linked together with

  794. Thanksgiving. You know, as a parent, it's one

  795. thing when your kids come up to you and say, hey can I have some

  796. money? You know, you want to bless your

  797. kids. It's nothing.

  798. Like when they say, hey, I took out the trash, I put up my

  799. laundry. I appreciate you as a parent.
