Hello and welcome to the Anchor. Faith Message podcast enjoyed
-
this message. We're going to start in the back
-
of the Bible all the way back at Revelation and I was like ah man
-
Chase pieces speaks and going revelations in times.
-
No, not really but we are going to go back there.
-
So Revelations 1714. Revelations 17:14 and it says
-
these will wage war against the lamb.
-
And the lamb will overcome them because he is the Lord of lords
-
and the king of kings and those who are with him are the called
-
and chosen, and faithful, and those who are with him, are the
-
called and chosen. And faithful today, we're going
-
to talk about called to chosen. Right.
-
We're going to talk about called to chosen because I think it's
-
very important that when you look at this scripture, we
-
realize there's three categories, he gave here, he
-
said those who are with him, are the called Chosen and faithful,
-
right? So we're going to look at what
-
it means to be called what it means to be chosen.
-
And then obviously what it means to be faithful because if it was
-
just one thing, we're all going to be, they probably want to
-
have separated into three different meanings but a very
-
specifically said those who are Are going to be with me.
-
Are the called The Chosen and the faithful, right?
-
So we're going to look. Look, look into this and dissect
-
it a little bit. We're going to look at the word
-
called here. And according to the strongs,
-
it's, you know, it's a word. I can't pronounce.
-
We're not going to, but the definition of it means an
-
invitation, it's an invitation, and it's used particularly of
-
the Divine call to partake in the blessings of redemption.
-
And that's from The Vines dictionary.
-
But it says it's used particularly of a Divine call.
-
To partake in the blessing of redemption.
-
So when we look at the revelations, you can leave that
-
up there for a little bit longer.
-
Don't be, I'm gonna be on that one for a bit 1714, right?
-
It says, they're the called The Chosen and the faithful.
-
So if we know where called and we know that the calling is an
-
invitation then obviously, we want to know who's inviting us.
-
Right. Who's inviting us?
-
John 6:44 says no one comes to me unless the father who sent me
-
draws him and I I will raise him up on the last day, right?
-
So no one comes to me. Unless the father who sent me
-
draws me First Corinthians 1:9 says, God is faithful through
-
him who you were called into fellowship with the son, Jesus
-
Christ Our Lord. So we know God is the one that's
-
doing the calling, right? Because no man comes to the
-
father, except through him. So we understand that those are
-
who are going to be with them are going to be called of God to
-
be with him, right? Those who are with him will be
-
called by him too. Be there, right?
-
And we've all been called, right?
-
What are we being called out? I, we've been called out of
-
Darkness Into His Marvelous Light, right?
-
We've all been called out of where we are right by God, but a
-
calling is just that it's a calling and calling obviously
-
means that there has to be an answer to Right in order for our
-
calling, to be complete. There must be an answer to that,
-
which was called, right? So if we know we've been called
-
by God, we then have to answer that call, right?
-
We've got to put ourselves in a position to answer that call.
-
And at one point in time, anyone who's Born Again, has put
-
themselves on the spot to answer that calling, right?
-
If you're sitting here today and you've been born again, you have
-
answered the call, right? So right then great news, we're
-
going to be with them, right? Because we've been called Right.
-
We've been called, we're going to be with them, there's a
-
thought I'd be a little bit more exciting but that's fine.
-
I mean, whatever no big deal. I'm excited.
-
Right because I've got in right. I've been called I've answered
-
the call. Therefore I'm at I qualify for
-
Revelation 17:14 which says those who will be with him will
-
be called. Alright?
-
So we've been called if you've answered the call.
-
Now that you are officially one of the called ones, right?
-
But like I said, we're not just going to stop it called because,
-
you know, I didn't, I do my message called to chosen just to
-
stay at called, right? We're Look at chosen now.
-
So let's go to Matthew 22. Matthew 22 verse 1.
-
We got a little bit of reading here, so we're going to do it.
-
Jesus spoke to them again in Parables saying, the Kingdom of
-
Heaven is like a king who held a wedding Feast for his son and he
-
sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the
-
wedding Feast. But they were unwilling to come
-
again. He sent out, other slaves
-
saying, tell those who have been invited behold, I have prepared
-
my dinner. My, my oxygen and my fatty
-
fatten cattle. Cattle and all butchered and
-
everything is ready. Come to the wedding feasts but
-
they pay no attention and went their separate ways one to his
-
farm. Another to his business, and the
-
rest seized his slaves, and treated them abuse abusively,
-
and then killed them. Now, the King was angry and he
-
sent out his armies and destroyed those who murdered and
-
set the city on fire, and then he said, to his slaves, the
-
wedding Feast is ready, but those who were invited, we're
-
not worthy. So go to the main roads and
-
invite whomever, you find there to the wedding Feast those
-
slaves, went into the streets and gathered together, all whom
-
they had found both bad and good, and the wedding hall was
-
filled with dinner guests. But when the king came in to
-
look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not
-
dressed in wedding clothes and he said to him friend.
-
How did you get in here without wedding clothes?
-
And the man was speechless. Then the king said to his
-
servants, tie, his hands and feet, and throw.
-
Him into the outer Darkness where there will be weeping and
-
gnashing of teeth in that place for many are called, but few are
-
chosen. For many are what but few are
-
for many are but few are chosen called and chosen, there is the
-
exact same called and chosen from Revelations.
-
The exact same word. Right?
-
I like the way the passion translation reads.
-
The end. It says for everyone is invited
-
to enter in but few respond in excellence.
-
For everyone is invited to enter in but few respond and
-
Excellence, Excellence. All right, so, that's the same
-
called and chosen from Revelations.
-
What we hear is, is he saying look, many are called, but few
-
are chosen. So we have a separation between
-
a calling and actually being chosen just because you've
-
accepted the call, does not make you chosen.
-
Just because you accepted the call doesn't make you.
-
One of the chosen ones, it makes you a called one.
-
Right? And Revelations, I didn't come
-
back for the called The Chosen and the faithful.
-
Right. So there's there's the cold,
-
which we all automatically are the men.
-
We got born again. We answered his call, we become
-
the call, but then there's the chosen that were chosen in
-
Revelations, and right here, means the elect the elite.
-
Right? So there's the cold, and then
-
there's the elect and the elite who are The Chosen.
-
Now, this chosen isn't just five-fold ministers, right?
-
This isn't just pastors or teachers.
-
This shows ain't just qualifies people who have set themselves
-
in a position to be the elect. Now.
-
See, for those of you who know me and obviously I've been
-
around enough a church for a long time.
-
So a lot of you have seen a lot of faces of my life, right?
-
A lot of you have grown up with me.
-
And seen me grow a lot as well. I am a very competitive person.
-
Some might say that I am a hyper competitive person.
-
Right. I like to win at all costs.
-
I'm not a cheater, but I will definitely read the rules and
-
make sure everything I'm doing. You know, might be, you know, a
-
gray area of the rules, right? You know, if I've got a win, I
-
want to know all the rules to the game, because I want to put
-
myself in the best possible position to win because If I can
-
win, because I know a rule that you didn't know that just helps
-
me out, right? So when I read scriptures like
-
this and I realize there's called in their chosen, the
-
competitiveness inside me. Sparks up and says huh.
-
Well, how do I become chosen then?
-
Because that sounds like something to obtain to that
-
sounds like another level that I want.
-
Right? And so I think it's important
-
for us to think, man, you know, I'm a member.
-
When I'm Pastor. Earle.
-
First wrote, the book Vision Beyond sight.
-
Zev, I read Vision Beyond sight, man.
-
If you have not read pastorals book Vision Beyond sight, you
-
should flood guest relations after this thing and pick it up.
-
It is a phenomenal book and it was a marker point for my life
-
personally where I made some decisions because the book is
-
about the life of Samson and how it's the saddest thing, biblical
-
historical account of someone's life because of wasted
-
potential. Right.
-
Wasted potential. And it says, at the beginning of
-
Samson's life, that God said I have called him to start a work,
-
right? And Pastor breaks down, why he
-
didn't finish the work. And I remember reading that
-
because like I said, I'm a competitive person.
-
I thought in my life, what a horrible event to think that I
-
could live my whole life and get to heaven and find out that
-
there was way more. I was supposed to accomplish
-
that I chose not to, Because the bottom line is, God knew Samson
-
wasn't going to do it, but he still wanted him to get it done.
-
He had every intent of Samson being the one to do it, but he
-
knew ultimately, he's going to choose his own selfish life,
-
right? And so, when we look at being
-
called to chosen, right? I think, man, I don't want to,
-
you know, not that being called as bad because, hey, we're with
-
them. And in the end it says those who
-
are called are going to be with him.
-
But like I said, when I see that there's another level to obtain
-
two of chosen. Well, then why would I just
-
settle for called Why would I just stay at called when there's
-
chosen? You know, because I want to not
-
just live life. I want to dominate life, I don't
-
want to just live my purpose. I want to be as successful as
-
possible in my purpose. You know, I definitely get this
-
from from Pastor Earle, man. You know, I don't just like
-
seeing teams win. I want to win by like a lot, you
-
know, you know, for some of you guys, you might not be video
-
game players from my video game players out there.
-
I love my PlayStation. You know, when I get time to
-
play, I'll play. And when I play sports games, I
-
don't just create my character. Dr. Perfect. 99, I create the
-
rest of the team, a perfect 99 that way.
-
When I play, it's not just like well, that was a close match.
-
It was like, man, I destroyed that team, right?
-
And that's still feel good about it and got no problem like when
-
I want a hundred and something to nothing, right?
-
Like, I mean, I'm fine with that, you know, you know, when I
-
play my daughter and Mario Kart, she beat me, got learn the hard
-
way, you want to win, you earn that thing.
-
All right, that way she knows when she beats me.
-
She got it right? You know, I love it.
-
We um we play we play with a Charlotte clay and you know, she
-
came home, one day and told her parents she was like I gotta
-
start racing on on the harder setting.
-
That way I can beat Uncle Chase, right?
-
Because I was like, I'm not going easy on you.
-
Right? We're gonna we're gonna I'm
-
gonna raise a bunch of winners over here, right.
-
We're going to get it, right? So obviously I look at called a
-
chosen, I think, man, I want to be chosen.
-
I want to be the elect and Because I've accepted the call,
-
doesn't make me chosen. So let's look at verse 11 again,
-
real quick. It says, but when the king came
-
to see the guests, he noticed there was a man there who was
-
not wearing wedding clothes and he asked him, how did you get
-
here without your wedding clothes?
-
The man was speechless and the King told the attendance, throw
-
him out weeping gnashing of teeth for many are called, but
-
few are chosen. See this man had the
-
responsibility to come prepared to be chosen, right?
-
God called him. But the E of being, chosen was
-
still placed on him, right. God's called us, but the
-
responsibility to get to chosen falls on us and he's given us
-
exactly how to do it. And we're gonna go there, and
-
we're going to see this. But ultimately before we can
-
even think about getting there, we have to be able to assess
-
what makes us called, and What Makes Us Chosen and where does
-
that difference there, right? Because if I know once I've
-
accepted the call, in order to be chosen, I've got to do
-
something, then, I'm obviously going to Have to go to the word
-
to figure out what it is. I need to do to get there.
-
Right? Because like I said man I want
-
to set myself up the best I can I told you I like to read the
-
rules. Why?
-
Because I want to know every Avenue I have to win and if I
-
can see an Avenue someone else didn't see than I have the
-
advantage and just like that in in a board game or whatever it
-
is I'm playing man. If I want to have the advantage
-
in life that I'm gonna go to the word to see every Avenue, I have
-
to get every Advantage, I can so that I can do the best I can
-
because just like, Pastor preach Just a couple weeks ago, I'm not
-
settling outside of his promises.
-
All right, I've put content in my heart that I'm going to live
-
my life out, so that when I get to heaven, one day, God doesn't
-
say, you know, you did good but ultimately, here's everything
-
else I could have had you accomplish.
-
No, I'm going all out right, right?
-
I'm going all out. So Colossians 3:12 Colossians
-
3:12 through 15. It says therefore as the elect
-
of God holy and beloved put on Tender Mercies kindness,
-
humility meekness long-suffering bearing with one another
-
forgiving one. Another, if anyone has a
-
complaint against another even as Christ forgave you.
-
So Let's also do. But above all these things put
-
on love which is the bond of perfection.
-
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to which you are
-
also called in one body and be thankful, right?
-
Leave this up. So we see here.
-
Here's the list of things. The elect are So quick
-
reflection. If I can already read this
-
scription realize I don't have some of these.
-
Guess what? I'm not there yet.
-
Right because it says the elect of God put on Tender Mercies
-
kindness, humility meekness, long-suffering bearing with one.
-
Another forgiving one another just like Christ.
-
Forgave you, right? They put on love which is the
-
bond of perfection and they let peace the peace of God rule in
-
their hearts, right? This is how the chosen live.
-
This is the standard at which we must live in obtained.
-
Two, in order to be chosen. I like I said we might want to
-
read the rules today because I want to know man.
-
If I want to be something then obviously there's a
-
pre-qualification. So what do I need to do to get
-
qualified to render myself, chosen?
-
All right, and that's what I love about the word.
-
It's always there. In the end, you will not stand
-
before God and say, but I didn't know.
-
Right. That is one thing.
-
I absolutely love about life and purpose, and that is that it all
-
falls on me. I know everybody's different,
-
but I'm an under the pressure. Kind of guy, I like being the
-
one with the ball at the last second.
-
Like I said competitive, which means man, if we're losing, if
-
we got one play left, I don't want my fate and someone else's
-
hand, I want to be in control. I want to make sure I'm the one
-
that gets to carry this thing through, because I trust myself
-
more than everyone else, right? Because I know that in the end,
-
if I lose Was because I lost and it was me and I wasn't good
-
enough. Then that's what it is.
-
But if I lose because someone else wasn't good enough, well,
-
that's just frustrating. You know like man, you should
-
pass me the ball. I can make that shot like come
-
on man. You know, I don't want my
-
Destiny's tied to someone else but God didn't do that.
-
God said, look, I've prepared you.
-
I've called you, I've placed you anything I've called you to do,
-
you can do. And now I've given you the
-
instructions on how you can get there, which means in the end,
-
I'm going to look at you and I'm going to say, you knew
-
everything you needed to accomplish your purpose and it's
-
it was on you. It was there for you to reach
-
out to if you didn't obtain something, then it was your own
-
fault for not trying to obtain it.
-
Right. Then it was your fault for not
-
reaching out for it. It was your fault for not
-
getting there, right? So, it falls back on us, to make
-
sure I'm living a life of the elect to make sure I'm living a
-
life that qualifies me for this title.
-
Right, I'm living a lie with enough passion and purpose to
-
get to this place. Russell.
-
Like I said, man, we want to go from cold to chosen, then we're
-
going to need to understand what makes us called and What Makes
-
Us chosen. Well, we know here's a list of
-
things, right? That we qualify as chosen but we
-
also want to be aware of things that might keep us called.
-
Well called people are Sunday and Wednesday attenders.
-
Call people are Sunday and Wednesday at tenders and what do
-
I mean by that? They're the ones that show up on
-
Sunday and Wednesday and they've done God.
-
They sit in the seat. They hear a word.
-
I check my box. I love God. you will remain
-
called, if that is your Goal in life.
-
Now come on. Now we ain't gotta get quiet
-
because I mean I understand where it sets in ourselves.
-
But ultimately man where we can be a church of chosens, right?
-
We can be a church of the elect, let every Church be called but
-
let anchor face shirts, be chosen, right?
-
So come on, you know, let's not get quiet on me, just because I
-
hit some things, but let's think about it.
-
And let's take some, let's, let's be like David and say
-
search my heart. Oh Lord.
-
Right, search my heart. Let me know if there's something
-
I can do so called people are Sunday and Wednesday.
-
Tenders were chosen, people seek the extra.
-
Right? There's a Women's Conference
-
coming up. Chosen people are their chosen.
-
People don't let their week. Get in the way of attending.
-
Something else in the word, right?
-
Chosen people are the ones that just don't show up on Sundays
-
and Wednesdays, but they look for opportunities to serve,
-
right? Those are the chosen.
-
Those are the ones that step out a little bit further.
-
And like I said, I'm not bagging on being called, it's great.
-
You're called, you're in the end, you're going with God.
-
But ultimately, if we know there's another level to obtain
-
to why would we not want to try to get there, right?
-
So called people are your Sunday and Wednesday attenders called
-
people will justify their lack of serving.
-
Call people will justify their lack of.
-
Well, I've had a long week, I've done.
-
I've been, you know, it was a busy one for me at a lot of
-
things going on, you know, you know, you don't understand how
-
many hours I worked. You may, I mean, usually the my
-
job is this a, it's a, it's a physical job.
-
Right. Call people.
-
Right. All right, they'll justify their
-
lack of serving. There's always a reason why they
-
can't do the extra. There's always something keeping
-
them from doing something more. Greatness is Never attained by
-
maintaining a status quo. Michael Jordan did not become
-
one of the best basketball players to ever live.
-
By simply showing up when it was time to show up and leaving when
-
it was time to leave. No, he put in the extra work,
-
Kobe Bryant, put an X, there's a, there's a thing I saw on
-
Instagram scrolling through. I got a friend up in Oklahoma,
-
who's a big Kobe Bryant fan. And he's posting stuff all the
-
time. I think it's someone's telling a
-
story. They're like, man, I showed up
-
one day, you know, to practice before the game and Kobe Bryant
-
was there, and I was shooting shots.
-
I mean, I'd already in my mind said I'm going to shoot 400, you
-
know, I'm going to make 400 shots and I'll leave.
-
So, I was there for like, 200, 22 hours or whatever, you know,
-
you know, I kind of start packing up.
-
Kobe was still there. Kobe was still there, still
-
trying was like, man, what's going on?
-
On. So I end up talking to him
-
Larry, I asked him. I said, what's going on in?
-
Kobe was like, no, I just saw you were there and so I figured
-
I'd keep shooting to make you feel like you weren't doing
-
enough. Well, I because there was a
-
level of greatness at which he wanted to attain to.
-
So he put in the extra work to get there, but yet when it comes
-
to our spiritual lives, we just expect checking off our daily
-
Bible. Reading box to be enough to make
-
me attain somewhere. And then I can justify it by
-
saying I've done other things that keep me out of it, man
-
called people clock in, and out called people clock in, and out
-
of God clock in Rhema Bible, clock out, do anything else?
-
Talk in Sunday morning sit in church.
-
Clock out. God's done.
-
I got to work. Come on now chosen people?
-
Right are always available for something.
-
The Chosen, all the one. I say, man, it doesn't matter
-
what I've done this week. I'm available for more.
-
Right. And I know it's easy sometimes
-
like, oh well you know, chase you work out the church man, I
-
worked outside the church. I moved to Valdosta really early
-
in my marriage with my wife. And um, you know, we helped
-
anchor Faith, Austin, you know, in their early stages and I
-
served as a as a server at a restaurant.
-
I and I went into that restaurant and I told them I'd
-
like a job. I actually worked three
-
different jobs. They're multiple job because I
-
had to, you know, get into a good fit and I wasn't willing to
-
let things get in the way of my purpose.
-
So, when I got On it shatters, I told him, I said, I will not
-
work Sunday mornings or Wednesday night's period.
-
They said, well, everyone's got to work Sundays.
-
I'll say, well, then, okay, and the lady was like, man, that's
-
really strong. She goes, I've never hired
-
anyone before. I'm a new manager, you could be
-
my first hire. But, you know, I go to church.
-
And you seem really convicted about going, as I said, look, I
-
will not work on, you know, Sunday mornings, it won't happen
-
because I would you work something I said, you know, I
-
could work with Sunday night. That's fine.
-
I got nothing. You know, the church wasn't
-
doing. Can you Miss Sue then?
-
I was like, I don't have anything going on.
-
I could work some Sunday nights, you know, while everyone else
-
was waiting to figure out what their schedule was the day
-
before the week started. Mine was Is the same.
-
Why? Because I had favored, but I put
-
my purpose before everything else, right?
-
So I work super late hours, you know, on Friday, Saturday,
-
Sunday and Monday, but I did everything.
-
I could to remain available to pursue the purpose that God had
-
placed inside me, right? So, you know, ultimately, we've
-
got to put ourselves and say, you know, it doesn't matter if
-
I'm working for the church and working outside the churches,
-
you know, we should all be doing whatever, we've been called to
-
be doing ultimately. We shouldn't be at any job got
-
didn't Place us at Right. And not everyone has to work,
-
you know, for the church, right? Some people have started their
-
own business, other people work for other businesses but you
-
know, the most successful ones are the ones that say, where is
-
the kingdom in what I'm doing. Right.
-
Where is the kingdom in this? How does me being here?
-
Help. Advance the kingdom.
-
Right? Because once we're doing, you
-
know, our passion and purpose, right?
-
Because once we get involved in that, whether it's in this
-
building, whether it's outside of this building, once we're
-
connected to our passion and purpose, it'll change our
-
outlook on everything we do for it.
-
Because once your purpose or passion, just becomes work,
-
that's when you'll get burnout. Once you start just viewing what
-
you do, as a job, only rather than viewing it as the thing,
-
God put me on this Earth to do. The reason I'm breathing is to
-
be where I am at this moment when you view your assignment
-
like that, it's easy to want to do anything, it takes for it.
-
Right. It's easy to see that and I know
-
people in this building who have started businesses and done
-
different things with the sole purpose of, how can I serve the
-
kingdom through this, right? And so whether you're called to
-
work a job outside, fine. But find what God wants you
-
there for? How does this help?
-
You can see to excel the kingdom and ultimately once I'm there
-
that I'm not just thinking about it as my nine-to-five.
-
I'm thinking of, as the reason I'm breathing today and when I
-
start to take that concept, Kept in, right?
-
Then all the little things that happen, you know.
-
Begin to not matter anymore. Right.
-
You know, it's easy for me, you know to you know I'm in a I do
-
design I make videos. That's what I do here at the
-
church. On the service.
-
Producer are organized making sure that you know the flow of
-
the surface goes like we've set up, you know?
-
Ultimately it's, you know as Pirates of the Caribbean say
-
it's more like a guidelines than rules.
-
You know, we kind of set guidelines But ultimately where
-
the spirit wants to go, we're going to go but I kind of helped
-
facilitate the ultimate general, you know, outline of what a
-
service might look like. But then I make videos and I do
-
design I'm and through that, I put myself in some design groups
-
on Facebook is just some of the saddest stuff in the world.
-
To see, like, I mean, some of these people that, you know,
-
work for churches are just some of the saddest people in the
-
world, you know? And they're always looking, you
-
know, to figure out their emotional needs, you know, God,
-
I'm just, you know, it's just it's so much you know.
-
And then all the advice is always well, you got.
-
A-you got. Tell your pastor.
-
You got limits. You got to tell your pastor
-
that, you know, he can't run you like that.
-
You know, me winning ways 5:00. I don't answer no work calls.
-
Why? Because you're working a job.
-
You're not serving a vision. Because when I'm serving a
-
vision, my time is not my own. Because when I serve a vision
-
I'm available for whatever it needs.
-
Right. I serve this vision and Pastor,
-
oh, come to me for something. I don't even think about it
-
because I've connected to this vision and if he asked me to do
-
it, then I already knew when I connected this Vision, I'm going
-
to be doing it says, hey we got to go this way so all right cool
-
I'm gone. It's already on the calendar but
-
hey, I need you speak, no problem.
-
I got it. I don't have to already have had
-
a word. I didn't need the Holy Spirit to
-
come tell me a week before. Pastor told me that I was going
-
to be preaching. I don't need to sit there going
-
to be honest. With most of you aren't even
-
fully have What I was going to speak until two days ago but
-
ultimately I still say yeah, absolutely.
-
Why, because I'm connected to this Vision.
-
I know if God told you something and I'm gonna be there to do it
-
because I'm not clocking out at 5:00, called people clock out,
-
right? Do you think the disciples
-
worked a nine-to-five? My God didn't walk up to the
-
disciples and say, Hey, you know, come with me.
-
We're going to start the day at 9:00, right?
-
We'll have lunch every day. One hour, no problem.
-
You taking care of right? You know, we do a lot of
-
traveling that's time and a half.
-
You know, I'm going to preach it places, but don't worry, 5:00,
-
we shut down your home, your back.
-
We're staying at. Nice hotels know these people
-
left everything at a word, not a word.
-
And I think there's a lot of us who sit there and think, man of
-
Jesus asked me to come, I'll be there.
-
But really were like, man, Pastor asked me to be somewhere
-
Saturday and I worked all week. You know, so I don't know if I
-
can make that one. See called people will try to
-
fit their purpose into their life, where chosen people will
-
wrap their life around their purpose.
-
Cold people are always looking to try to see.
-
I can do God here, I can do God here because I've got these
-
things going on and these are the places I can fit God and
-
we're chosen. People say no, this is my
-
purpose. This is my passion and
-
everything else I do is going to evolve around out everything
-
else. I do will be there.
-
See me personally when I go to schedule vacation, right?
-
I'm looking at the calendar and I'm seeing what the church has
-
got going on. And I know I work here, but I'm
-
still thinking, man, if there's an event, I need to be at
-
there's something I cannot miss then.
-
Why would I miss it? Why would put why would I
-
willfully playing something that we would remove me from the
-
place. I'm attached to, why?
-
Because I'm always looking to serve my purpose in my passion.
-
And I'm saying, man, if I don't have to miss it, then I'm not
-
going to. And I'm going to be honest, man,
-
I just love what I do. So, most time I have a hard time
-
planning vacation because I've been here.
-
I like running the way I run, you know, and I get to travel
-
with Pastor anyways, most of those times I taken him and I
-
was in Oklahoma, a couple weeks ago, a pastor for, you know,
-
camp meeting, you know, and ultimately I was working The
-
Book Table, I was talking to people, you know, I'm not
-
necessarily considered the most extroverted person like the
-
people person in the room, right?
-
I don't, I don't go into the party and it was like this,
-
Chase? No.
-
You know, I'm totally fine being on noticing in the back, right?
-
I film things behind a camera like I'm totally cool with
-
letting someone else. Talk 90% of the conversations
-
are new. People are M through my other
-
friends who come up and they saw the conversation and I can jump
-
in when I need to write. So I went to camp meeting, you
-
know? And it was me and Bradley and it
-
was Bradley's first time, which means it really fell on me the
-
most to do. Most of the talking I'm thinking
-
man I texted my wife but halfway through his arm is the most I've
-
worked in a long time. Man, I'm talking to so many
-
people. My face hurts from smiling.
-
You know, I thought this would be much more relaxing but man,
-
I'm putting in some work, right? But ultimately I still felt like
-
I love being there. It was a vacation we had a good
-
time when I got back in. It feel like man.
-
I need rest. Not felt great.
-
I was like let's run what's next?
-
Why? Because when I'm doing my
-
passion and purpose, it's going to fulfill me, it's Gonna Keep
-
Me. It's Gonna, you know, keep me
-
going. Because do we not think that God
-
will always honor our time. We sing about how God, you know,
-
how how miraculously is how wonderful he is.
-
All the things he's doing, but then we had like if we do go
-
serve in the church or do this extra event, it's going to put
-
us away from family's, gonna put us out and they say, no, I'm
-
going to be too tired. Do you not think God will honor
-
your time? You know, when I um, and when me
-
and my wife were having our third daughter Scotland, I was
-
at a busier season in the church for my life.
-
Personally, you know, there's just a lot going on.
-
We had a lot of different projects.
-
There's a lot of things happening, right?
-
And so I knew that meant I wasn't as home as much not only
-
for my wife, but also for our newborn Scotland.
-
I just wasn't there as much, right?
-
And I was reminded of something that was prayed over me.
-
When I was in high school, we went to a youth camp.
-
Thank God for youth camps and with the worship leader called
-
down everyone, who was who was involved in their youth worship
-
team. And he prayed over me and he
-
said, you know, I don't know why.
-
I said everyone else pay when he prayed over me, he said, God,
-
you're going to bless him and an hour of practice will be like
-
three hours. And that came back up into my
-
spirit when I was going through this season.
-
And so, I started praying over my family and I say, God, an
-
hour of time with my kids is going to be like 3 hours, 15
-
minutes of time with my kids is going to be like 45 anytime.
-
I can invest in this season, you're going to multiply it and
-
my wife can attest to this you know at such a young age.
-
Scotland was the closest to me of any of my daughters.
-
You know, most time when the moms feeding them on taking care
-
of him through the night and she's doing all of her stuff,
-
right? You know, when the year 1 year
-
2, they're mostly close to the mom, that's the relationship.
-
They know that's the bond. They have writing that as a dad,
-
you just try to get in as much time as you can.
-
But ultimately, you just can't beat the fact that I don't feed
-
you right, you know. And so it's like you know your
-
life source is somewhere else. I get it, you know.
-
So obviously when I was you know, with Scotland even though
-
I wasn't able to be there as much when she was two and
-
started talking she said Dad at first when she was crying or
-
sad, she would not want her mom but she would come to Me why it
-
wasn't nothing to against Alyssa but it has to do with the fact
-
that man, I put in time in the spirit and God honored, the time
-
that I had with them super naturally because I wasn't out
-
just doing things on my own. It's not like I was just gone
-
doing things and staying busy of my own will, I was serving a
-
purpose, right? Because Paul said, man, we got a
-
beat down, our flesh, right? Called people are moved by their
-
flesh. Chosen people seek the spirit,
-
right? When I had my kids, I made a
-
shift in my workout routine. I went from going whenever I
-
wanted to say, man, I'm gonna start going at 5:30 or 6:00 in
-
the morning while all my kids are asleep.
-
That way, I don't lose any family time because this is a
-
personal thing I want to keep going.
-
But ultimately, I don't want to miss being with my family and so
-
I rearranged my life to accommodate the purpose and the
-
passions that God has placed there.
-
Right? And that's how we keep ourselves
-
stirred up, right? So called people will try to fit
-
their purpose into their lifestyle or chosen people will
-
evolve their life around their purpose, right?
-
If we look at Matthew 10 17, through 20 to, it says, as he
-
was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to him and knelt
-
before him and ask good teacher. What shall I do?
-
So that I may inherit eternal life, but Jesus said to him, why
-
do you call me good? No one is good.
-
Except for God alone. You know the Commandments do
-
not. Not murder, do not commit
-
adultery, do not steal, do not false, give false testimony do
-
not defraud, honor your father and mother and he said to him
-
teacher I've kept all those since my youth then looking at
-
him. Jesus showed him showed love to
-
him and said to him. One thing, you lack go and sell
-
all your possessions and give it to the pool, poor.
-
And you will have treasure in heaven, and come and follow me.
-
But he was deeply dismayed by these words and he went away
-
grieving for. He was one, Own much property.
-
We literally have an account of someone who was called.
-
And their their life decision moment of choosing to be chosen
-
or to remain called. But ultimately this person
-
picked their life and the things they want to attain and the
-
things they have over the elite elect status.
-
They ultimately said, I want what I'm comfortable with, I
-
want what I want, I want what I'm doing.
-
I like where I am now. I like the things I have.
-
This is my seat on Sunday morning.
-
Right. This is where this is where I
-
have at a mile serve on this day but nothing else you get me once
-
a month. No, I don't got to be quiet
-
because I this is a church of chosen, right?
-
Because Pastor a couple weeks ago, said most people who are
-
called stay called because of self-preservation, I want to
-
serve God on my terms and be happy about it.
-
Whereas, the chosen ones are the ones who left everything behind
-
and followed him. It's about two weeks ago and his
-
message settled, it's a great setup for what I had today.
-
But I refuse to settle outside the promises of God.
-
I refuse to just be someone who is called.
-
I refuse to just live by my flesh and stay in my comfort
-
zone. I refuse to to get to the end of
-
my my Road in life and to finish my race, only to find out.
-
I didn't actually finish my race.
-
I finished the leg of it and I'm not passing the Baton off to
-
someone else. Know what's mine to achieve?
-
I have Destiny in my heart. I will achieve it.
-
Right? Because I'm not going to stay at
-
called status. I'm gonna get chosen.
-
I'm gonna be a part of the elect.
-
I'm going to be a part of the elite.
-
I'm gonna do what's required of me to be sitting somewhere else
-
in the end to have been able to say man, well done everything I
-
had for you. You got everything I have for
-
you, I've got You know, like I said, I'm a video game person.
-
Always makes you think about. I don't know if anyone else
-
plays video games, this one Mike might just right past you.
-
But you know, if you play any sort of big scaled video games,
-
you know, there's always these like side quests and little side
-
jobs. And there's people who, like,
-
complete a game and they do the main mission.
-
And then there's people who, like, spend the time to make
-
sure they go through and do every possible.
-
You know, you know thing they can on it as competitive as I
-
am. I don't have time for that so I
-
never do that but I am a stubborn person.
-
So I was playing this one game. You know where you had to like,
-
stack rocks? You know, I was funny because I
-
was telling my wife the other day.
-
She was sitting by me while I was playing.
-
And it's just like all you do is you go.
-
And there's like six rocks and got to stack them.
-
I don't know. It's like a side quest thing so
-
stupid. But once I started like, I just,
-
I couldn't stop until I got in and they kept falling and
-
there's like an hour and a half because that's all I was really
-
playing and then I realize I wasted all of my time on this
-
awesome game, stacking rocks. I'm like but I couldn't stop and
-
so I had got it done and then it was like then I got it but then
-
I realized all I attained it by didn't use every rock that they
-
gave me, I missed one. So, I technically accomplished
-
it, but I didn't know that man, so I was just reset it on my own
-
because I go down to the cow. I got use all of them, right?
-
So just like, spent so much time doing this little mundane thing
-
that meant nothing. But ultimately why is?
-
Because there was something there.
-
Something about my personality is just man, I'm going to
-
accomplish it. Like I'm going to get it done.
-
I'm not going to sit here and say that I failed at a stupid
-
Little Rock game. I'm gonna be the one that
-
actually successfully got this thing.
-
Right? You know, II play Mario Kart
-
with my kids and, you know, sometimes I get frustrated
-
because I restart it, right? I'm on.
-
Like, the SEC really fast one, right?
-
And so we're going. And so in order to get the three
-
gold stars, you got to win first place every race which means
-
that the second race I lose for some reason, you know, mainly
-
because Alyssa is somewhere in like third place is right,
-
shelling me like crazy the whole time, right?
-
And so then someone like past me like Tasha's restart the whole
-
thing as I can't get 3 stars at this point.
-
No point in finishing all the races, right?
-
I might as well just restart and try again like it's going like,
-
right. Why?
-
Because I'm just one of those people who likes to get
-
something right and ultimately I think inside of us, whether you
-
are a competitive person or Or not, there's still something
-
about a calling inside of you with God, that wants you to
-
obtain two more, right? And we shouldn't just be
-
satisfied with knowing man. I got there on the bare minimum.
-
I made it, but just Right? I don't want to be a I just
-
barely made it person. I want to be chosen.
-
So as we look at Colossians 3:12 and we think to ourselves man am
-
I putting on Tender Mercies? I am I kind towards people.
-
Do I have humility, do I have meekness?
-
And obviously Pastor said this a thousand times, humility and
-
meekness does not just mean quiet and act like nothing right
-
because we know the most humble man in the world wrote that
-
about himself. Right.
-
And a lot of people think, oh, well, we gotta be humble.
-
Humble does not mean I'm some like quiet little mouse.
-
That's not what that means, right?
-
So, you're not going to look at something on.
-
Like, I am very humble. He's saying a lot of things
-
aren't very hungry. No, that's not what that was
-
qualified as right. So we're going to be humble in
-
the right aspect of it, right? We're going to be
-
long-suffering, right? We're going to be people who can
-
deal with a man and that is the one thing.
-
I'm gonna be honest, man, you connected think of a church man.
-
Your pastor is long-suffering and there's sometimes I go
-
through something, you know, and then I've been upstairs me like
-
man you are long suffering because I'm working on that.
-
Because I fall into the, you know, Remember the Titans just
-
cut him loose. Can I like you, man?
-
I would much rather just move on this, but we're going to we're
-
sitting here, right? But ultimately, that's what we
-
are. He's long-suffering, and so we
-
become long-suffering, we become people who are long-suffering.
-
We say, man, I'm gonna get this right with our kids, where
-
long-suffering, right, we can't be short-tempered, right?
-
We have to give them time to get things, you know?
-
And for me, one thing from parenting, I learned, you know,
-
real quick, on my second child, who was completely different on
-
my first shot as well, there is no one.
-
Way to do this. Right?
-
Because the way London, axe is not how the next and the way
-
Scotland acts, I've never seen another child act.
-
So you know, I can't even YouTube this one.
-
I gotta just figure this thing out.
-
Ryan. So you gotta, you do these
-
personalities, long-suffering, man, you know, everyone's
-
different, you know, the way I respond to things is different
-
than the way, when wife would respond to things sometimes,
-
like, man, just go do it right, the age-old batter.
-
Where do you want to eat? You know, like stinking Pig, uh,
-
place You know. So, then she's like, well, you
-
big final picture pulling. I hate you.
-
Well, you know, I hate when I still pick the place.
-
It's your turn again, right? But you like, man, I want to put
-
on long-suffering, right? We're bearing with one another.
-
We're forgiving one another. All right, we're not holding on
-
to grudges against people, right?
-
Just like Christ, forgave us. We forgive others because
-
ultimate I'm not going to let holding on to unforgiveness
-
disqualify me from my own purpose.
-
But like I said, ultimately, I'm the only one who can disqualify
-
myself from accomplishing. The thing, God want me to
-
accomplish right now. Much really put myself down and
-
say I'm sorry, and deal with it. You know, I've always been one
-
of those people. Anyways, that's just kind of
-
like, man, you know, if I do something and it's wrong and
-
I'm, you know, I'll take it like it's wrong.
-
You get in trouble, like, but I've always been like a, let's
-
just go and do and then, ultimately, if there's
-
correction, we get correction, you know, and I'm saying, you
-
gotta, you gotta grow from the correction like I said, A lot of
-
you been in for a long time, you've seen me grow, right?
-
You've seen things happen, you know?
-
And so ultimate is, why? It's because man, we had a great
-
church, we have a great past, we have great word, but we take the
-
word inside, we apply it, we do things, some things take longer
-
to adjust than others, but man, it's that drive to want to be
-
chosen rather than just being called that actually gets us
-
somewhere, right? It's that drive to say, man, I
-
want more than the bare minimum, we let the peace of God rule in
-
our hearts. How else do we get chosen?
-
This is a great one. Everybody knows this one Matthew
-
6:33. Right says, but seek first, the
-
kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these
-
things shall be added to you. The word first, there is in time
-
or place Rancor influence. It obviously means, the very
-
first thing means, the very first thing I'm seeking in my
-
life is the kingdom of God. All right.
-
The word seek there is an order. It's a desire, a hunger thirst
-
to Crave for it. It's something that man, we just
-
long for, man. We've got to have it on a pic on
-
my wife here for a second because it really fits in.
-
If anyone knows Alyssa, you know, she has, you know, this
-
thing about sauces, right? I'm telling you, like, we order
-
food, she orders a sauce that Sauce better be there.
-
I don't care. If it's 15 20 minutes away.
-
I'm driving to go get that sauce because it's like get there like
-
can't eat this. There's no sauce.
-
Right. Because when she has her mind
-
set on that sauce, man, she wants that sauce and she will go
-
through Leaps and Bounds. I'm gonna have to, you know,
-
we'll just doordash another meal with the sauce and maybe they'll
-
get it right this time. What about the other Moon?
-
Doesn't matter. I'll have the sauce, right?
-
But it's this crave. Assisted Zaire, man.
-
We have to have a desire to seek first.
-
The things of God, we have to man, this is what's been put
-
inside me, I long for this. This is my motivation is to find
-
the kingdom of God is to put this thing first.
-
Write, the kingdom is his royal power, and his sovereignty is
-
dominion. And then it says, but it doesn't
-
just say, say, Seek first. The kingdom of God, it says and
-
his righteousness. Right?
-
So, these are two things we're seeking first.
-
I'm not just seeking the Kina. I'm also seeking his
-
righteousness. And what is his righteousness,
-
isn't it? It's a condition that is
-
acceptable and pleasing to him. So I'm not just seeking first
-
his kingdom. I'm also seeking first making
-
sure I'm putting myself in a position of being pleasing to
-
him. Meaning the meaning that I'm
-
doing all of the things he's laid out that we are supposed to
-
be doing, I'm leaving with that list right in Colossians, I'm
-
living by that list. I'm staying righteous.
-
I'm not just staying somewhere. I'm not just running off at the
-
mouth of not just in my flesh all the time.
-
I'm not just doing things but man, I'm staying righteous.
-
I'm seeking to be righteous, right?
-
And we also know just how fast you can get it right, right?
-
You make a mistake, bam. You can get it right, why?
-
That's seeking his righteousness.
-
That's being able to say, man. I made a mistake here, but I
-
want to get it right and get back where I'm supposed to be.
-
I'm seeking his righteousness. I'm Desiring to never make a
-
mistake, but ultimately, I do. Quick to get it right, right
-
because we can make a heart change that fast and we can be
-
right there. I love the way the passion is
-
translation reads. This one, Matthew 6:33.
-
The passion translation says, so above all consistently seek
-
God's kingdom and his righteousness.
-
Then all these less important things will be given to you
-
abundantly. I like the way this does is
-
because obviously Matthew 6:33 and says in all these things we
-
add and I love the way they say, all these less important things
-
because ultimately there's nothing as important as our
-
purpose but God is still willing to give you the things you
-
desire. he just say, man, seek me seek my righteousness and
-
then all these less important things, what you're going to
-
eat, what you're gonna drink, what you're gonna wear, let are
-
all less important than your purpose will be given to you and
-
abundant Alright, if you're seeking me for seeking my
-
kingdom, if you're staying righteous, all these less
-
important things, I'm still going to give to you, but yet
-
called people seek the less important things.
-
Trying to get it in abundance on their own.
-
Right? We want to be chosen.
-
We want to seek first, the kingdom of God, because we're
-
called to chosen, right? We're going to move out of just
-
called status in a chosen status, right?
-
Just like Pastor said and said, oh man, I'm not settling outside
-
of his promise, anchor. If a church is a church of
-
chosen people and give a church, is gonna get to the next level.
-
Why? Because all of us are going to
-
rise up to the elect and be chosen of God.
-
Right, so we gotta we gotta rise up to that to that place, you
-
know, Pastor Kenneth Hagin said, in order in order to be the best
-
you can be you must train. Which means there's gonna be
-
some work involved. There's gonna be things we have
-
to do. And like I said, it's amazing to
-
me sometime how much people are willing to put in work and
-
effort for random things but then when it comes to spiritual
-
life, we don't You know, we love to spend time at the gym.
-
We have no problem putting in all this work and effort into
-
building up our body some way. But it when it comes to doing
-
some extra Bible reading where we tap out, You my kids got a
-
science fair project. I'm gonna put, I'm gonna make
-
sure my kids science. Fair project is the best one
-
ever. And I mean, I'm there I'm
-
dedicating, we're checking everything out, we're getting it
-
done. But ultimately, it's like, man
-
when it comes time to pray a little extra or to show up a
-
little early to be at prayer. Tapping out.
-
Right? We have to understand if we're
-
going to grow spiritually, we're gonna have to train to grow
-
spiritually. And if I have a hard time,
-
praying, 10 minutes, and the spirit, then I should probably
-
start praying in five minutes in the spirit a lot.
-
And grow from called to Chosen and start training to be
-
something. There's a lot of people that
-
were used in the Bible and there's a lot of people that
-
could have been used. All right, David was chosen.
-
But guess what? David had Brothers.
-
But David did, what was necessary when he was out there
-
with the Sheep to put himself in a to become qualified, to be
-
chosen. A lot of other people could have
-
rescued besides just Moses and Aaron, but Moses and Aaron would
-
put in it. We're putting themselves in
-
positions to be chosen, right? There were multiple spies sent
-
out but Caleb and Josh said, I doesn't matter what it looks
-
like. God said, we can do it, chosen
-
mentality. Chosen mentality.
-
Say man, I'm going to do my don't care.
-
The circumstances. God said, we can do it.
-
He told us we can do it. We're going to get it because
-
that's the great thing about God.
-
God knows what you gonna go through in your life, right?
-
If God called you to something that needs given everything you
-
need, he's giving you everything you need to accomplish it.
-
And he knew what your life was going to be like, which means
-
the circumstances you've gone through.
-
He's prepared you to handle and if he's prepared us to handle,
-
Then the only thing we have to do is get in his word.
-
So that we can accept that thing.
-
Right. Second, Peter 111.
-
Second Peter 1, 1 1 through 11. Sorry, second Peter, 1, 1
-
through 11 says, Simon Peter has servant and Apostle of Jesus
-
Christ to those who through the righteousness, of God and
-
Savior. Jesus Christ had received a
-
faith as precious as ours, Grace and peace.
-
Be yours in abundance, through the knowledge of God and of
-
Jesus, our lord, his divine power has given us everything we
-
need for a Godly life. Through our knowledge of him who
-
called us by his own glory and goodness through these, he has
-
given us his very great and precious promises.
-
So that through them, you may participate in the divine
-
nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused
-
by evil desires for this reason, make every effort to add to your
-
faith. Goodness and to goodness
-
knowledge and to knowledge self-control.
-
Roll and to self-control preservation.
-
Whoo, perseverance and perseverance godliness and to
-
Godliness Mutual affection into mutual affection.
-
Love for if you possess these qualities in increasing measure,
-
they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive
-
for. If you possess these qualities
-
in a in increasing measure, they will keep you from being
-
ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus
-
Christ. But whoever does not Have them
-
is near sighted and blind forgetting that they have been
-
cleansed from their past sins. Therefore my brothers and
-
sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and
-
election. For if you do these things you
-
will never stumble. And you will receive a rich.
-
Welcome to the Eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior.
-
Jesus Christ. Man.
-
Road map. Right.
-
Laid out for us. God's, amen.
-
This is how you go from called to chosen.
-
You start living with these things.
-
You start living with the desire for faith in goodness and
-
knowledge, and self control, and perseverance and godliness and
-
mutual affection, and love. Then you will not be
-
ineffective, you will not be unproductive, right?
-
You're not going to find yourself busy and effective.
-
If you're doing your purpose and passion busy and uneffective
-
comes from me, filling my time with things outside of my
-
purpose. Right, that feeling of being
-
super tired, all the time being busy all the time.
-
Comes for me, filling my life with things that aren't in my
-
purpose. It comes with me trying to
-
desire a life God never intended for me to have, right?
-
Because once I settle into my calling, And then I start
-
building myself up with all of the things to be the elect man,
-
you're going to run and it's going to be easy to run.
-
Right? And you're not going to be able
-
to see yourself doing anything else but run.
-
Why? Because once you settle inside
-
yourself your passion and purpose, you're gonna do
-
whatever it takes to accomplish it.
-
Right? And that's how we go from called
-
to chosen, Pastor Marcus Right? That's how we move from call to
-
chosen. We set ourselves apart from what
-
everyone else is doing. Because if I only do what
-
everyone else did I only have what everyone else has.
-
If I only do the bare minimum, I'm only ever going to receive
-
the bare minimum. But once I start putting in the
-
effort for the extra man, I can start receiving the extra.
-
I can start rising to new things, and don't don't think
-
that new levels. Don't bring new
-
responsibilities, but with every new level and every new
-
responsibility comes a new call to achieve it.
-
Comes the ability to obtain it. Right?
-
So, I want to encourage you today, man.
-
I you can move. If you feel like man, I'm just
-
living the life of a called person.
-
You can move from called to chosen.
-
But it's not, it's not the it's not the way for many.
-
Because many are called few are chosen.
-
Now, there's a lot of people in the world, so if all of us were
-
chosen that would be considered few.
-
Right. So just know like I said.
-
Anchor Faith Church can be a church of chosen.
-
We can all say, man. I'm not gonna just obtained for
-
bare minimum, I'm going to attain to The Chosen, saddest
-
the elite, the elect, which means I'm going to put.
-
In the time, I'm going to put in the effort.
-
I'm gonna do what's necessary? I'm gonna do what's required to
-
go to the next level. I'm gonna do what's required to
-
to obtain something more. That's great.
