  1. Thanks for checking out the anchor Faith.

  2. Message podcast from st. Augustine Florida.

  3. Now enjoyed this message. Pastor, all had asked me to

  4. minister tonight while he was out.

  5. It's always an honor to get to speak anywhere but it's just a

  6. huge honor when you get asked to speak.

  7. At your home, right at where you're from at the vision you're

  8. connected to at the place you love.

  9. So, you know, I want to thank Pastor Earl and Marci for the

  10. opportunity to speak tonight. You know, I think it's kind of

  11. great to how it works sometimes because I'm gonna be honest, a

  12. couple weeks ago, I had a couple little conversations with my

  13. wife about some stuff and then, you know, mention it to Pastor

  14. Earle. I'm just kind of like, you know,

  15. have been chewing on a thought and then, you know, I get asked

  16. to speak and I was like, you know, I think this was for this

  17. time, right? Pastor only asked me last week

  18. we've got at something on my heart.

  19. But before that. Anyway so I'm pretty excited

  20. about this word tonight and I'm going to take just a little bit

  21. to set kind of a foundation before we really jump into the

  22. meat of what I'm wanting to get to so bear with me for a second

  23. as I kind of jump through a couple different stories but

  24. we're gonna tie this all together and it's going to make

  25. a lot of sense here in a second. Alright Genesis 12:1 Genesis

    Genesis 12:1 Genesis 12:1

  26. 12:1. Alright Genesis 12:1 says now

    Genesis 12:1

  27. the Lord said to Abraham go forth From your country and from

  28. your relatives and from your father's house to the land,

  29. which I will show you and I will make you a great nation.

  30. And I will bless you and make your name great.

  31. And so you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those who bless

  32. you and I will curse those who curse you and in all the

  33. families of the earth will be blessed.

  34. So Abram went forth as the Lord had spoken to him and lot went

  35. with him now. Abram was 75 years old when he

  36. Departed from the place. Now, let's jump to Exodus 3

    Exodus 3:7

  37. verse 7, Exodus 37 says the Lord said and this is this is Moses.

  38. Obviously following, you know, the burning bush.

  39. I didn't wasn't gonna take time to read all of it, but

  40. obviously, we know the story most walks out, there's a bush

  41. burning, you know, calls him over, he goes to check it out,

  42. takes off his sandals, walks up in the Lord says, I have surely

  43. seen the Affliction of my people who are in Egypt and I have

  44. given heed to their cry because of their Masters for, I am aware

  45. of their sufferings. So I have come down to deliver

  46. them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them up

  47. from that to a land, that is good and spacious to a land

  48. flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, and

  49. the hit side, and the Amorite and the rest of them.

  50. Now, behold the Cry of the sons of Israel has come to me.

  51. Furthermore, and I have seen the oppression with which the

  52. Egyptians are oppressing them. Therefore come now and I will

  53. send you to Pharaoh so that you may bring my people the sons of

  54. Israel out of Egypt but Moses said to God, who am I?

  55. That I should go to pharaoh and that I should bring the sons of

  56. Israel out of Egypt and he said certainly I will be with you and

  57. this shall be a sign to you that it is.

  58. I who have sent you. When you have brought the people

  59. out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.

  60. Matthew for we're going to go to Matthew for Matthew 4. 18 says,

  61. now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two

  62. brothers Simon who he called Peter and Andrew.

  63. His brother, casting a net, into the sea for they were fishermen

  64. and he said to them, follow me. And I will make you, Fishers of

  65. Men immediately. They left their Nets and

  66. followed him going on from there.

  67. He saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee and

  68. John, his brother, and the boat with their father, mending,

  69. their Nets. And he called them immediately,

  70. they left the boat and their father, and followed him.

  71. And I could continue to go on, you know, there's Esther, right?

  72. You know who was called in, you know, to visit the king when she

  73. Wasn't supposed to, and then you've got David who had to

  74. serve underneath King Saul, who tried to kill him?

  75. You know, you had Mary, who is called by God to obviously, give

  76. birth to Jesus Ryan. And all these cases of calling.

  77. There's one thing that I noticed that brought them all together.

  78. There was a calling out of the comfortable place in which they

  79. were in at the moment. Right there was a calling out of

  80. the comfort that they knew and had there was a calling out of

  81. their comfort. Downright.

  82. There's a calling out of all of the things which they loved and

  83. were used to and had built up around them and then God showed

  84. up and said, now, I need you to leave all that and go do when

  85. I'm calling you to do. Right.

  86. And there's a long list of, you know, that we could go through

  87. and I could have spent the whole night, just reading the stories

  88. of people God called out of their area.

  89. To go do something great or to do something else.

  90. But ultimately, you know, I want to get to a specific person

  91. which was on my heart to talk about.

  92. But obviously, when we talk about Comfort zones, what we're

  93. talking about is, those tangible things in which we built up in

  94. our life, right? And these things can be money,

  95. that can be education, it can be clothing, it can be, you know,

  96. anything you Put as like, this is my comfort, right?

  97. This is something right because we all have something in our

  98. mind was like, man, I need to take a break and this is what I

  99. go do, right? We have we all have our own

  100. little Comforts. Like I said, pastor in March

  101. there on a vacation, they decided to go camping.

  102. I don't take vacations to go camping.

  103. That is not comfortable for me. Like right, I do not want to do

  104. this. I do not find enjoyment that I

  105. don't want to build my life around doing that, right?

  106. But we all have something that we can say.

  107. Man, these are things, we don't need.

  108. They Don't Really necessarily help us in any area, but they're

  109. really nice and they're really things that make us who we feel

  110. like who we are and they make, you know, the sum total of maybe

  111. you know, my Persona or what I have built up, you know for

  112. myself it's those things that make us feel good, you know when

  113. I first got married, you know what 12 years ago?

  114. Now 11 years ago, now 11 years ago now in September, right?

  115. So when I first got married, my wife, Like the greatest thing

  116. ever she was like gonna be the best wife in the world and she

  117. is and she was like you know what Chase his favorite meal is

  118. country fried steak fried okra and mashed potatoes and gravy,

  119. right? I don't like that meal much

  120. anymore but at the time it was my favorite meal.

  121. So what did my wife do? She learn how to make it and she

  122. made it really well. So well in fact that she made it

  123. like two to three times a week A week.

  124. You know, and so we're having country fried steak and I'll be

  125. honest, I was loving every second of it, you know I'm

  126. saying like this is my mail, it tastes good.

  127. She learned how to cook it. It's amazing.

  128. This is my comfort food. I love every second of being

  129. there. But what I didn't realize was

  130. this comfort that I had, you know, had in my life started to

  131. have an effect on me. Because one day, I went to a

  132. pool party. And, you know, I just want to

  133. say you're the person who takes pictures out of pool party,

  134. shame on you. Nobody wants to see pictures of

  135. themselves, out of pool party. There's no place for cameras at

  136. pool party, right? Just keep that one locked inside

  137. your heart and mind and move on. Nobody needs that posted.

  138. Right? And so I'm sitting there at a

  139. pool party and we're doing that, you know, stupid thing that you

  140. do in pools where one gets on and one shoulders and how high

  141. of a tower. Can we make?

  142. Which is Even just the worst as you're all like, hunched over on

  143. someone's back. Right.

  144. I see a picture of myself and I realized, man, I have gotten too

  145. comfortable. This Comfort has gotten to me

  146. and it is now very evident, right?

  147. And so that Comfort crept up on me to the fact that I was like,

  148. man, you know, I need to do something about this.

  149. And how do we do something about physical?

  150. You have to get a little uncomfortable to go to the gym.

  151. If start breaking out of what you were doing out of.

  152. Tell my wife look, I love you, but man, we cannot be having

  153. country fried steak. Learn another meal.

  154. Like we gotta make something else, right?

  155. And so, you know, that's why I want to jump down to Judges and

  156. this is really kind of where I want to, you know, start honing

  157. some stuff in here because you know, we all talk about Gideon

  158. and a lot of people talk about getting getting, you know, has

  159. like two chapters and judges you know, you know, always talked

  160. about and obviously if you know the beginning of the story, the

  161. Israelites did evil in the sight of God.

  162. So God, let them fall into the hands of Midian they were

  163. basically, you know, going around worshiping, other gods,

  164. the god of bail, they got comfortable in the place.

  165. They were in and let other people's God's seep into their

  166. place, right? And so then for Seven years,

  167. they were, you know, having issues when them.

  168. Then finally, in chapter chapter 6 verse 11 it says this, then

  169. the angel of the Lord came and set under the oak that was in

  170. this place which belonged to a lot of names as Gideon was

  171. beating out the wheat in the winepress in order to save it

  172. from the midianites, the angel of the Lord appeared to him and

  173. said, the Lord is with you. O Valiant Warrior, then Gideon

  174. said to Oh my Lord. If the Lord is with us, why then

  175. has all this happened to us? And we're all his miracles which

  176. our fathers told us about saying, did I not did?

  177. Not the Lord bring us from Egypt but now the Lord has abandoned

  178. us and given us into the hand of Midian the Lord looked at him

  179. and said go in this your strength and deliver Israel from

  180. the hand of Midian have I not sent you he said to him O Lord

  181. how shall I deliver Israel behold.

  182. My family is the least and all of them.

  183. NASA. And I'm the youngest in my

  184. father's house, but the Lord said, surely, I will be with you

  185. and you shall defeat Midian as one man.

  186. Now, see, obviously a lot of times we talk about Gideon and

  187. there's a lot of good stuff here, right calling, you know,

  188. calling them out, you know, call them a mighty warrior even

  189. though he doesn't see himself, is that right.

  190. He goes and picks. What is the least of all this

  191. whole place and says, look, I'm gonna ride you up from somewhere

  192. so no matter where how low you feel like you are, God can do

  193. something great with you. But what I also love about this

  194. Story is he took someone who was just, you know, taking care of

  195. Wheat and said, look, you're doing your job.

  196. But now I'm going to get you out of your comfort zone and I'm

  197. going to make you a warrior. I'm gonna make you something

  198. that you didn't see yourself as but I'm also going to make you

  199. something. That is not easy to do.

  200. Right? Because it's one thing to take a

  201. soldier and say, I'm going to make you a leader in your going

  202. to do this thing. It's another thing that takes on

  203. him as no practical, knowledge of fighting Wars and just takes

  204. care of wheat in and say, you're going to raise up an army and

  205. lead them. Right?

  206. And how many of us, right? We start looking at our gifts

  207. and talents and what we're good at and try to place ourselves in

  208. a calling based upon what we think we can do probably like,

  209. and I'm really good at this. So surely God wants me to use

  210. this and this is how I'm going to do it.

  211. And this is part of my calling this one I'm going and so we

  212. start looking at all these things we can do and all these

  213. things. We are able to accomplish and

  214. start trying to fake God's calling and purpose of our life

  215. into where our Sr. Right.

  216. When if we look at all of these stories listed, they all get

  217. called out of those environments and place somewhere they didn't

  218. see themselves. And if we're not careful, then

  219. we can let our comfort start limiting, our possibilities, or

  220. we can let our comfort start to chain us to something, right?

  221. I got a chain up here, it's really heavy and greasy.

  222. Sorry, Bradley right, we've got this chain up here.

  223. Why? Because if we're not Careful

  224. will start building. Comforts.

  225. That keep us locked in. Because as long as I'm connected

  226. to this chain, there is a limitation on how far away I can

  227. get from this poll. And I will never be able to do

  228. anything outside of this circle. As long as I have the Shane, and

  229. what we do, a lot of times as we call God and we say, yes, God

  230. use me, use me God's right there saying.

  231. Yeah, let me use you in like, no, man.

  232. I gotta pee. God.

  233. Use me. Come on, God.

  234. Use me. I'm really good at doing this.

  235. Use me, I'm really good at Photography.

  236. Use my photography God. And guys, I don't care about

  237. your photography. I want you to do this.

  238. I want you to let go of those things that make you

  239. comfortable, and come seek me out and get where I am, and

  240. where your calling is. Right getting was called out

  241. from harvesting wheat. To go battle something, right?

  242. Because by Design faith gets you out of your comfort zone.

  243. Faith is designed to get you out of what you know can be

  244. accomplished and start trusting in God to achieve it.

  245. And this is why I love the Gideon story when it comes to

  246. this, because we're going to keep going here.

  247. And we're going to see just how uncomfortable things get for

  248. Gideon in this calling, right? So obviously, you know, after

  249. that getting is like, hey, you know, God tells them, you're

  250. gonna go tear down this thing Gideon, still scared.

  251. Still not really. Fully accepting this goes and

  252. does it at Right then they're like, hey, you know, go to his

  253. dad, they're like, hey your son tore down the, the statue of

  254. Baal burn it down, took it down like you need a bring him out

  255. here so we can take care of it. Father wisdom here, Major Dad

  256. points. He's like let bail defend

  257. himself all right this is good dad dad of the year, right

  258. there, saved his son. He's like let bail defend

  259. himself and they're like, you know, that makes sense.

  260. Sure. Yeah, we'll do that.

  261. You know, we'll take, we'll let that happen, right?

  262. So then Gideon throws the fleece.

  263. And I'm Going to talk about this for just a split second because,

  264. you know, I was chewing on this, you know, and I was like, you

  265. know, God, you know, I feel like getting out of comfort zone but

  266. then like God, throws a fleece and like gets all these signs

  267. before he goes and does something right.

  268. But just so, you know, the fleece that's thrown is because

  269. Gideon's in a different dispensation Right.

  270. Gideon does not have the Holy Spirit living inside of him

  271. Gideon. Only knows this.

  272. Right. So there's no unction from the

  273. holy spirit that can lead him and guide him somewhere and I

  274. know in our minds are like, yeah.

  275. But how much easier is it? If I can throw out a fleece,

  276. it's not easier. It's easier to just learn to

  277. hear the Holy Spirit leading and guiding you and come.

  278. Because we have the advantage of that being with us getting

  279. operated and what he knew. But we have something even

  280. better. So we're not sitting here

  281. looking for signs and looking to throw fleeces and God if the

  282. wind blows from the north at 1 a.m. and a purple dust sprinkles

  283. me than I know. It's, you know, we have an

  284. inward witness that will tell us what's going on, right?

  285. And you can see that you know, in John 14:26 John 14:26 the

    John 14:26 John 14:26

  286. Amplified classic says but the comforter counselor healer

  287. intercessor, Advocate strengthener, stand by the Holy

  288. Spirit. Whom the father will send in my

  289. name in my place to represent me and act on my behalf.

  290. He will teach you all things and he will call us things.

  291. He will cause you to recall and remind you or bring to her.

  292. You'll remember it's everything I have told you.

  293. That's the advantage we have over Gideon.

  294. Right? So we're not trying to throw

  295. fleeces. Here.

  296. The fleece wasn't to get him out of his comfort zone.

  297. The fleece was, he's leading and guiding It's all right, we're

  298. looking for God's leading and guiding on the inside.

  299. So let's jump down to judges, 71, judges, 71.

  300. I'm going to skip a lot of these names just know it.

  301. Then Jay who is Gideon and all the people who are with Him Rose

  302. early in Camp beside the spring of Herod, and the camp of median

  303. was that at the north side of them, by the hill of this place

  304. in the valley. The Lord said to get in, the

  305. people who you are with, sorry, the people who are with, you are

  306. too. Time for me to give median into

  307. their hands. For Israel would become boastful

  308. saying my own power has delivered me now therefore

  309. Proclaim in my hearing of that of the people saying whoever is

  310. afraid and trembling let him return and apart from this from

  311. Matt Gilead. So 22,000 people return, but

  312. 10,000 remain. Then the Lord said there are

  313. still too many people. Bring them down to the water and

  314. test him there. Therefore it shall be that whom

  315. I say to you this one shall go and this one shall go with you.

  316. But everyone whom I say to you, this one shall not go with, you

  317. shall not go. He brought people down to the

  318. water and the Lord said to getting you shall separate

  319. everyone who laughs the water with his tongue, as a dog, as

  320. well as everyone who kneels to drink it.

  321. Now the number of those who kneeled putting their hand to

  322. their mouth was 300 men but all the rest in the old to drink

  323. water the Lord said to get in I will deliver you with the 300

  324. men who laughed and I Give the midianites in your hand.

  325. So let all the other people go each man to his home.

  326. So the 300 men took the people's provisions and their trumpets

  327. and their hands and Gideon sent all the other men of Israel each

  328. to his tent but retain the 300, and the camp of Midian was below

  329. them in the valley. Right.

  330. So we take a guy who's a farmer, who takes care of wheat, we let

  331. them know, hey, you're gonna get out of this wheat farm, you're

  332. going to lead an army to set your people free from the

  333. midianites you're going to leave this thing and he's like this is

  334. an awesome not super excited. God makes your eye you know.

  335. Like am I really hearing this right?

  336. He takes care of some stuff putting manages to Rally roughly

  337. 32,000 people which you're like, hey man, get on you like there

  338. you go you know that's gotta be something a lot of people would

  339. That is a sign. I got 32,000 people with me.

  340. God's doing this. Okay?

  341. I'm gonna say it one more time. A lot of people would take that.

  342. As I got, 32,000 people with me, there must be God here, because

  343. there's so many people in this place there must be got here.

  344. Now that's not what God Said. God said no 20, you know,

  345. 30-something thousand of them are completely useless to me and

  346. what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do With the 300 who

  347. are faithful and do what I need them to do.

  348. Does not looking for numbers. He's looking for you to be

  349. faithful. He's looking for you to show up.

  350. He's looking for you to answer the call.

  351. Right. So God called these people out

  352. and it would have been easy for getting to be like, oh man, like

  353. yeah, I got all these numbers, man, God's here.

  354. He's moving like, clearly. Look at this, you know, I have

  355. so much peace. Now, in this situation, I've got

  356. God's peace. You know, there's a lot of

  357. people who are confusing, peace and comfort.

  358. There's a lot of people who are getting who are hearing, oh,

  359. I've got peace in this situation when the Is you're comfortable

  360. in the flesh with it? Because there's a difference

  361. between peace and comfort because I can have peace.

  362. When I don't see the answer, because Comfort keeps me here,

  363. Comfort keeps me change, but P says, man, I feel just as strong

  364. here as I did over there, when I don't have the finances for my

  365. bills and Monday's coming. I feel peace in this situation

  366. because I'm tired and I'm offering I'm giving to God and I

  367. know he's gonna be beside me when I don't have any answer,

  368. but the situation is coming. I can have He's that God will be

  369. there and God will follow through, no matter how it looks

  370. in my mind, no matter how it looks in the natural, I can have

  371. peace in those moments because the comforter is with me.

  372. We like to strap the Holy Spirit into our Comforts and try to act

  373. like, oh, I got peace about it. You ain't got piece.

  374. You're not chasing a calling, you're chasing your comfort.

  375. Because what do we want the American dream or God's calling

  376. on our life? Right?

  377. I'm not looking to just build up my comfort zone.

  378. The more I read the Bible, the more I realized man, if I'm

  379. doing God's calling, I should probably be a little

  380. uncomfortable. I should probably be looking for

  381. situations that made my flesh. Go man, this makes no sense.

  382. I don't see how these, you know points are gonna connect.

  383. But I know because God is with me and God's leading me and god

  384. in me, I ain't gotta see it to take the step.

  385. I don't have to know what's next, right in any situation.

  386. God's their, right? So, so getting gets down to 300

  387. people. The 300.

  388. A number. That seems so insignificant no

  389. way these people could defeat this thing.

  390. I mean you got to think not only is Gideon, probably

  391. uncomfortable. The other 300 are probably

  392. uncomfortable as well. They're like man ithe I signed

  393. up with the other 30-something thousand to come here.

  394. You brought us all to this Valley and then you kick them

  395. out for. There's a little bait-and-switch

  396. here, man. You know everything.

  397. I'm real good on the travel but now it's like, man, this is

  398. uncomfortable. I must have missed it.

  399. I should go back. I'll say it one more time.

  400. A lot of people can get comfortable.

  401. I heard God, I'm going somewhere then they get their gets hard

  402. and they're like, oh well God obviously wasn't here.

  403. I missed it, let me go back. Comfort is not the sign that God

  404. is with you. Faith by Design, get you out of

  405. your comfort zone. And if we are to live Faith to

  406. Faith, then that means we should constantly be looking for

  407. situations to be uncomfortable, but no, God will see it through.

  408. Giving this number doesn't make sense.

  409. Working this much doesn't make sense.

  410. You know, I'm going to be honest when I when I when I first moved

  411. back here from Valdosta, you know, and I started working with

  412. a church and there was like a bunch of different things

  413. happening and ultimately I started working a lot more and

  414. we were going to have Scotty, our third daughter and I knew I

  415. was gonna be real busy and I set down my wife and I told my wife,

  416. I was like, look this season is gonna be crazy.

  417. There's gonna be a lot of hours. It's a lot of stuff going on and

  418. I'm going to have a newborn baby.

  419. You know, this is like not the best timing but I know I'm in my

  420. fit, right? So I started praying that God

  421. when I get, you know, 30 minutes of time with Scotty.

  422. Let It Be magnified or multiplied, so that one hour,

  423. seems like four hours, you know? So my two hours feels like eight

  424. hours. Let's get some Supernatural time

  425. here because even though I'm going to be a way more, I need

  426. you to now show up in this place, that might be lacking.

  427. And and if y'all know, my family situation in my wife can attest

  428. this and probably the majority of Staff anyone around me.

  429. Scotland is the closest of all my kids to me of every kid we

  430. had. Scotland has the closest

  431. relationship to me, you know, whereas every other kid

  432. obviously grew up in that, you know, they want Mommy, until you

  433. know, I got old enough to really play with them and all that kind

  434. of stuff. Scotland at every Point, wanted

  435. me. Why it wasn't because I was

  436. spending more time with her. Because by all accounts, I had

  437. significantly less time with her during that time of development.

  438. But God meant that need because I was in his purpose.

  439. And that relationship was strengthened and less amount of

  440. time, right? So instead of saying, oh, man, I

  441. can't be working these hours, my wife's got a newborn baby.

  442. I'm not comfortable with all that.

  443. No, I asked God I said if you're calling me to do this then

  444. you're going to have to make something up here.

  445. That's putting trust in God, because in the natural that

  446. makes no sense that my daughter would be the closest to me when

  447. I've spent the least amount of time with her in that season.

  448. But we have to put trust that if we're going to come out of this

  449. comfort zone and out of everything, that makes sense to

  450. us and where we fill the best in life.

  451. Then everything we do out here, God's gonna make up for whatever

  452. we were missing. Good writing.

  453. So those three hundred men have the opportunity in their minds

  454. even even though we don't have it documented.

  455. You know, they could have thought all sort of things.

  456. I don't see how this is gonna work Gideon.

  457. Anything could have came up, this doesn't make any sense.

  458. Right? But we have to ask ourselves.

  459. Are we chasing after God or are we chasing after comfort?

  460. Are we chasing after God? Or are we chasing out of

  461. comfort? Jump down to verse 16, judges

  462. 716, he says, he divided 300 men into three companies and he put

  463. trumpets and empty pitch, pitchers into the hands of all

  464. of them and torches inside the pictures.

  465. And he said to them, look at me and do likewise and behold, when

  466. I come to the outskirts of the camp do, as I do, when I and all

  467. who are with me, blow the trumpet.

  468. Then you also blew the trumpets, all around the Camp and say for

  469. the Lord, and for Gideon. So get in and the hundred men

  470. who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp and began

  471. in the beginning to up the middle watch, when they had just

  472. posted the watch and they blew the trumpets and smash the

  473. pictures that were in their hands.

  474. When the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the

  475. pictures, they held the Torches in their left hand and the

  476. trumpets and their right hands for blowing and cried a sword

  477. for the Lord. And for the hands.

  478. And the The trumpet in the right hands for sorry, stored for the

  479. Lord. And for Gideon each stood in his

  480. place around the camp and all the Army ran crying out as they

  481. fled, when they blew 300 Trumpets.

  482. The Lord said a sword of one against another even throughout

  483. the whole Army, the Army fled, as far as, you know, these

  484. places from these other places, then the men of Israel were

  485. summoned to this other place at the edge of the Hill, you know,

  486. and Gideon sent Messengers. Got all the place come down

  487. against median and take the waters before them.

  488. As far as you know, all these places are and they captured the

  489. two leaders of Minion, right? So with the 300 men, God set up

  490. a thing and this is what I love about this, right, God took a

  491. wheat farmer. And said I'm going to make you

  492. the leader of an army Gideon's freaking out in his mind, I'm

  493. not a soldier, I don't have this but all along God's like you're

  494. not even gonna fight. You're not even gonna fight.

  495. I told you lead an army naturally went somewhere.

  496. And so many of us are like God's call me here and so then we

  497. start naturally trying to connect all the dots.

  498. Oh God, call me this place. Will let me find a job.

  499. I've got to find a job. Obviously of God's called me

  500. here. No.

  501. God called you there. Unless God said, find a job then

  502. go there then God just called you there right.

  503. He took a wheat farmer and said, you're going to lead an army

  504. getting didn't run out and start practicing.

  505. We need might have, I'm sure he probably didn't is 10.

  506. I bet she held a sword employee, but, you know, gives a speech

  507. and goes into a sensor. Figure out how this thing works.

  508. Right. But ultimately, he took someone

  509. and then delivered them without them even having to actually

  510. fight you're gonna blow trumpets, you're gonna smash

  511. pots, they're gonna get confused and scared, which is obviously

  512. the spirit, you know, God moving because that makes no sense.

  513. They lower how loud noises, what do we do?

  514. Like what these are warriors? These guys are used to this.

  515. These are guys that are trained for these things and the loud

  516. noise like, ah, I'm out of here in the ran very far apparently,

  517. you know, as far as those two places are from each other,

  518. should have got a map so you could have seen it right?

  519. Well, the thing is, we will never reach our full potential.

  520. If we don't even try to obtain to it, And for some of us, our

  521. full potential is right over there.

  522. And we're staring at it and we're longing for it while I

  523. God. Come on.

  524. I'm so ready for this. Make it make sense.

  525. If you give me these answers then I can build my chain long

  526. enough to get here when Gods like I don't want you suck to

  527. something, I want you to trust in me.

  528. I want you to trust in me for your answers.

  529. Don't sacrifice your calling for comfort.

  530. We don't want to sacrifice everything.

  531. God has in store for us to feel better for a short amount.

  532. You know, it's so funny and opportunities.

  533. I have to administer to youth because it's like, you know, and

  534. everyone can relate this. When you're in high school, high

  535. school just seems like it's the biggest deal in the world, like

  536. every decision matters, so much those for insignificant years in

  537. your life, just seemed like everything.

  538. And we make so many stupid decisions in those four years

  539. acting. Like it's really gonna, you

  540. know, do something for us, man. Like, we talk to me know, I've

  541. talked to, like, literally the two other people who graduated

  542. with us that come to this church.

  543. But yeah, so many decisions were made about like, when we get out

  544. of high school, what are we all gonna do?

  545. Literally nothing. You're probably going to see

  546. next to none of them, right? But a so many times we make we

  547. try to make such big decisions for such an instinct.

  548. You know, insignificant amount of time.

  549. Even our time on this planet. Compared to Eternity is so

  550. insignificant. So, why would I sacrifice my

  551. eternity to be comfortable right now?

  552. I don't want to give up what could be just to feel like I've

  553. accomplished something now. All right, so how do we break

  554. our train? How do we get ourselves out of

  555. just realizing what we have? Because Comfort comes in, in so

  556. many ways. And, like I said earlier, you

  557. know, with like the country fried steak, it's like, you

  558. know, anything is sneaky man. It's like, you know, unless

  559. you're like an actual Fitness person, which I wasn't at the

  560. time, I had no concept of calories in calories out, I know

  561. concept of like I need to actually burn some of this off.

  562. Riley's just all calories. And I was a skinny guy.

  563. When I got married, I wait, like 140 soaking wet fully dressed in

  564. the winter, and I did nothing to stay that way.

  565. I drank so many, I drink so many Mountain Dew's, I ate so many

  566. fudge rounds, and I just stayed skinny.

  567. So when I got married, I obviously did not assume it was

  568. going to magically change my metabolism, just because I'm

  569. eating home-cooked food now. Right?

  570. But it sneaks up on you little by little Until you get to and

  571. see, here's the thing. It would have probably been,

  572. okay? If I was working out to eat

  573. every once in a while. Some country fried steak, no big

  574. deal. I'm taking care of myself.

  575. I'm being healthy. I mean, Fitness, I can have

  576. this, it's fine. And two, if something starts to

  577. get off, it's easy to tweak, small changes.

  578. But if we let the Comfort set in, then we gotta get really

  579. uncomfortable to fix something and some of us have gotten so

  580. built in our comfort that in order for us to get out, it's

  581. going to take some really uncomfortable moments.

  582. It's going to take some time of trusting God and putting things

  583. out there that we don't see answers to to start building

  584. those things up. So how do we break the chain?

  585. Obviously we gotta trust, God, Proverbs 3:5 and 6, Trust in the

    Proverbs 3:5

  586. Lord, with all your heart and do not lean on your own

  587. understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will

  588. make your path straight. Trust in the Lord, with all your

  589. heart and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your

  590. ways acknowledge Him, right? There's so many verses and so

  591. many biblically, you know, biblical stories of historical

  592. accounts in the Bible that let us know that man.

  593. If you just get out there and start following God, he's gonna

  594. show up. you know, I get the privilege to teach in our

  595. kingdom Institute, you know, Bible study here and one of the

  596. classes I teach is Authority and in that class one of the one of

  597. the principles we pull out is we have to understand that the word

  598. works every time always And if we feel like it's not working,

  599. it's never God. It's always us.

  600. And you have to become so firming your belief that the

  601. word Works always that we can then be real with ourselves when

  602. something goes wrong and no, no God wanted have done this.

  603. I obviously need to change something to get where I need to

  604. be. So I David said, search my

  605. heart. Oh, Lord, let me know.

  606. When is the last time we really took time to say God, is there

  607. something else I should be doing?

  608. Because Comfort comes so quickly.

  609. I mean, half of you looking out here, sit in the same spot every

  610. time. Whether we need me to or not

  611. what we get it, this is my seat. This is where I sit as far as

  612. like, funny, you go to places like, in high school and they

  613. had like a sign. Seems like you got a signs.

  614. He's after two classes. Everyone's gonna have a sign

  615. themselves to see, right? And you do it all here, you

  616. like, I'm gonna sit in this spot because I'm comfortable right

  617. here. I know this chair, this is my

  618. chair. I'm used to this one, right.

  619. But then, it can also go farther.

  620. Somebody, you've been here so long.

  621. Maybe you've just got comfortable with the people

  622. speaking. do we still value all the word being taught, no matter

  623. how long you've been here and how much, you know, No matter

  624. how many dinners you've had with Pastor Mike and Angie or Pastor

  625. Brandon or Pastor Earle or no matter how often you've come

  626. here and helped out or no matter how much this is going on or

  627. what you've seen outside of things or what you've been

  628. involved in, do we still value this?

  629. Speaking of the word that can change my life, Because if we're

  630. not comfortable, then it's just another message from Pastor

  631. Earl. Why would I come to a genome

  632. browser, Revival? It's just another anchor for a

  633. church service is not like they're having a different

  634. worship team. It's not they're going to have

  635. so I was Pastor Daryl again. we get comfortable and then we

  636. don't receive anything from it because we're not even trying to

  637. we're just sitting in our see you show up to serve because I'm

  638. scheduled I've been doing this position for a long time.

  639. I know how to do it, then a little change comes and it's

  640. like the end of the world. Let's never how it's been done.

  641. Moses was 75. He did a lot of things before he

  642. was called out to go do something else.

  643. He's a God. You've never asked me to leave

  644. before. Are we willing to step out and

  645. trust God Philippians 4:19 says and my God will supply all your

    Philippians 4:19

  646. needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus,

  647. right? We trust in God and then all

  648. these other things are going to fall into place.

  649. How do we break chains? We have to trust.

  650. God, how do we break chains? We have to stay righteous.

  651. I noticed a righteous First Timothy 611 says, but flee from

  652. these things, you man of God and pursue.

  653. Righteousness, Godless godliness, Faith, love

  654. perseverance and gentleness. Pursue righteousness.

  655. Matthew 6:33 says, so above. All, we know this constantly

    Matthew 6:33

  656. seek. This is the passion translation.

  657. Constantly seek God's kingdom. I like that constantly seek.

  658. Are we constantly seeking or have?

  659. We gotten comfortable, Where We Are?

  660. I guess it's one thing to show up.

  661. It's another thing to have in your mind set, God.

  662. What are you gonna say to me tonight?

  663. What do you have for me tonight? What do you, what are you going

  664. to bring tonight? You know, even if it's someone,

  665. you know, dip if it's not pastoral, if it's not Pastor

  666. Mike, they're not my style. I just get more from this other

  667. person, open your ears, because if you've been called to get

  668. connected, then anyone who takes this, this is got something for

  669. you. Stay righteous, right?

  670. Don't let sin creep into your life.

  671. Don't let your guard get down. You know, this is always been

  672. crazy to me and this is something obviously, I think of

  673. a church you've been coming here for a while.

  674. You definitely know about, right?

  675. We do a Bible reading plan. If you serve with us, you have

  676. to be doing the Bible reading plan, right?

  677. We do every single year, we put out a Bible reading plan and we

  678. give it to people and encourage them to read the Bible every

  679. year because you'd be blown away at how many churches Don't do

  680. that. And then things get exposed on

  681. documentaries. You like read the word every day

  682. because I can tell, when I haven't been in it, I know the

  683. difference when I've been two weeks removed from it.

  684. And it's because I value it. And I value what it can bring to

  685. my life and to those around me. So you have to stay in it

  686. because when you get off that's when those things creep in when

  687. you get out of the word that's when things got a creeping.

  688. You want to break change? You gotta be righteous because

  689. if I'm not living righteous then I'm no right to try to get God

  690. to move in my life. I'm calling on God but I'm not.

  691. I'm sitting on the side. God, why aren't you helping me

  692. guys? Like, why aren't you doing my

  693. word? And then it doesn't happen like

  694. oh well you know obviously God didn't want me to do that.

  695. He wanted me to be here. No you didn't apply the word to

  696. get through that trial that came.

  697. Apply the word, right? We have to have faith.

  698. Hebrews 11:1 says. Now, Faith is the Assurance of

    Hebrews 11:1

  699. things, hoped for the conviction of things not seen, right?

  700. We have to believe that no matter what's going on, God's

  701. word will work every time. Like we said, we go from Faith

  702. to Faith and by Design, it's to call me out, which means, man.

  703. I should be looking for opportunities to step out into

  704. the unknown. I should be looking for

  705. opportunities to step into an area that doesn't make sense to

  706. step somewhere that I didn't see myself to step somewhere that,

  707. you know, maybe maybe I is the farthest from me, right?

  708. Moses is like, I don't talk. Well, I was like, finding your

  709. brother can help you but he still had to go talk.

  710. I mean, regardless, he still had to show up in front of pharaoh.

  711. And he still had to do that thing.

  712. Right? We look for opportunities to

  713. step out in faith. That's how we grow in it.

  714. Because if all I've done is just creating this environment of

  715. comfort than how am I ever going to grow?

  716. For those of you who do work out, you know, it's the stress

  717. of the muscle. It's the breaking down its

  718. trying to wait. It's the pain of being sore that

  719. builds that thing up. That get you to that next level.

  720. It's the accomplishment that comes when you add a new plate,

  721. flight. Finally But out of those things,

  722. come, they come by getting in there, but getting it done by

  723. doing something uncomfortable, either, you know, opportunity

  724. wants a bunch of us guys, went up to Ohio, and we got to see

  725. some of these, like, strong men, you know, just lift ridiculous

  726. numbers. I don't remember what it was.

  727. It was like, it was it a thousand pounds that he got

  728. under that day it was like 1,200 or something like that and

  729. everyone like gathered around the squat rack because he's like

  730. at 12:00 is like I'm just getting under it.

  731. I'm not going to squat because I need to Feel the weight.

  732. Before I can do it. He's got to put the weight on

  733. his back and say no just to feel that pressure.

  734. So when he does it for the first time, it's not some Shock of

  735. all, I never felt this before. No, I understand that.

  736. Wait now because I put myself out there Raisa.

  737. We're looking for opportunities by faith and say God, where can

  738. you stretch me? Where can you grow me?

  739. What's this next level I can get to it, don't have to make sense,

  740. just give me a word to go on and I will stick to it because all I

  741. need is one word, and I know you'll fill in everything else.

  742. So we can't be afraid and be fearful of failure.

  743. Joshua 1:9 says, have I not commanded you be strong and

    Joshua 1:9

  744. courageous do not tremble or be dismayed for the Lord.

  745. Your God is with you wherever you go.

  746. If we're too afraid to ever step out then will never accomplish

  747. the things God set before us. Because like I said, when you go

  748. through the Bible, you're gonna see, God isn't just gonna hand,

  749. you your calling on a silver platter because it makes sense

  750. for you. Just like he did with Guinea

  751. where said, no, you guys are too comfortable with this number.

  752. If you win, you're going to think you did it with your own

  753. strength. And I need everyone to know that

  754. it was because God was here that this thing was done.

  755. And how many of us have capped are calling because we've done

  756. something, but not all the way because we got 32,000 people,

  757. and then we went in and fought our battle in one or like God

  758. was here and gods. Like, no, that's not how I

  759. wanted it done. Because God, he's he said in the

  760. verse he goes, you'll win and then you'll say it was by your

  761. own might. And so, we can get to a place

  762. where we've done something. Well, I go look, God was here

  763. and I was like, no I wanted so much more from you.

  764. You kept yourself here because you will comfortable with doing

  765. it that way. And it achieves something, but

  766. it ain't cheap, the fullness in which I wanted it to.

  767. So I'm telling Hank if a church, we gotta be willing to step out

  768. like I've said so many times before always love, you know,

  769. and you know, bottom mama has, you know, you'll Peter stepped

  770. out. There's an account in the Bible,

  771. you walked on water. Jesus Peter Noone else and I

  772. want to focus on the wind and waves that sunk them but the

  773. dude took steps on water and that account is to him.

  774. And you know why I think so many people focus on the fact that he

  775. failed in the water Rose because we're not willing to get up the

  776. boat ourselves. But if I get out the boat, I'll
