  1. Thanks for checking out the anchor Faith, Message podcast

  2. from st. Augustine Florida.

  3. Now enjoyed this message. Now, I want to continue in those

  4. laws tonight. Romans chapter 13 verse 7.

    Romans 13:7

  5. It says a lot, but we want to key in on the last part of this.

  6. All right, says render to all What is due them and there are

  7. things here but I want to do the last one, honor to whom honor.

  8. Okay, honor to whom honor is due.

  9. All right, so we want to render to all who honor to whom honor

  10. is due. And last week, we talked about

  11. God, he deserves the honor in first Timothy chapter 1, verse

    1 Timothy 1:17

  12. 17. It says, now to the king

  13. Eternal. Is he a king?

  14. Most people know him as Savior Jesus, but Jesus is the king

  15. only because Adam fell from demean or ate the fruit.

  16. Jesus had to show up as a savior prior to that.

  17. He's always been King. Lord, he's always been royalty.

  18. And so that to the king, Eternal Immortal invisible, the only God

  19. be good honor and Glory forever and ever.

  20. Amen. And so we saw last week, you

  21. know, that God deserves all of our Glory can an honor with all

  22. that. He's done for us for Humanity,

  23. right? And man, when you just think

  24. about what God's done and we shared a head, few people share

  25. some testimonies last week because, you know, there was

  26. some honor towards God because what he has done in their lives.

  27. Amen. And we did that, because to

  28. honor God, one way to honor, God is found in Psalms 50, verse 23.

    Psalms 50:23

  29. It says he who offers a sacrifice of Thanksgiving honors

  30. me, And to him who orders his way.

  31. A right. I will show the salvation of

  32. God, so we should honor God with our words with our lips.

  33. Right? Obviously with our lifestyle and

  34. God deserves all of our. He is the first and foremost

  35. that we should honor first. Pride, Numero Uno.

  36. Correct? He is the one that we should

  37. honor the most. Now, in our kingdom is to class,

  38. we said last week and our class life of Honor, we teach this

  39. honor is the key to submission, which is Hard to walk in

  40. authority. Honor is the key to submission,

  41. which is required to walk in authority.

  42. If you're going to walk in any Authority, you're going to be

  43. under something first. All right, on or simply means

  44. something. So valuable that it is held as

  45. precious prize cherished, treasured valuable and very

  46. dear. In essence, if honor is given to

  47. something or someone it or they will be seen as valuable or Or

  48. Irreplaceable. And so we posed the question,

  49. well, how, how valuable is God to you?

  50. How valuable right. And, you know, the Bible lets us

  51. know and ones instance. Jesus said the Kingdom of

  52. Heaven, is like a man who found a field with a great treasure.

  53. In it, sold everything he had to buy the field, right?

  54. So, in essence, when we honor, God, we've got a sellout in

  55. essence. We've got to give our all And,

  56. you know, that takes some time to look at ourselves because,

  57. you know, sometimes we come into this relationship with the Lord.

  58. Not now, not an honor basis, but on a, get out of hell basis, you

  59. know, I don't want to go to hell, for everything I've done

  60. wrong, and if Jesus Paid the price great, I'm glad he did it

  61. because I don't want to go now. It's not because we honor that

  62. Right. I mean you have paid meals for

  63. people and they didn't honor you for it.

  64. I mean, I'll be honest with you, your kids sometimes don't

  65. appreciate the gifts you give them.

  66. You know, you buy it, you give it to him, and they're like, oh

  67. great and then 10 minutes later, you know that I'm playing with

  68. it. Right?

  69. Are they don't say this. Thank you.

  70. What you got? Give me Dad.

  71. Wow, to the next one. You're like, where's honor in

  72. this? Amen.

  73. So his honors something, you know, that's really lost in one

  74. sense, because again, we love our individuality amen.

  75. We love our opinions and I heard one Minister just recently, say

  76. that one of the biggest challenges with the, the

  77. generation coming up, is they hold too much value on their own

  78. opinion? In essence, they honor what they

  79. say more than what he says. Amen.

  80. And so we want to be able to honor the Lord, right?

  81. So Jesus said in John chapter 5 verse 23, he says so that all

    John 5:23

  82. will honor the son even as they honor the father, he who does

  83. not honor. The son, does not honor, the

  84. father who sent him. I say that because again, Jesus

  85. obviously is dealing with people who are religious, people who

  86. say they're honoring the father but they are not honoring Jesus.

  87. At all. Which means they don't

  88. understand the father. Okay?

  89. And last week, you know, a lot of times last week, we said you

  90. can think you're honoring God and not be.

  91. And we want to make sure that there are things within the

  92. Bible that talks about honoring that we are doing those things,

  93. because a lot of times we just, you know, individualize so much

  94. this relationship with God, that we really kind.

  95. Despise are brothers. I mean fact if I just be honest

  96. because you know, it's like I don't really care about you.

  97. I'm going to just be with me and God, that's all that matters.

  98. Well that's not all the what that matters it matters but it's

  99. not all that matters. It's not all that matters, but

  100. we want to kind of, you know. Well, I'm right with god.

  101. Well, I'm going to heaven. Well, God understands me.

  102. God knows my heart. Yeah, he does.

  103. And he knows every place that you can improve.

  104. Right? Because if your heart was like,

  105. he is then it would he, you would do what he does in

  106. everything. Okay.

  107. So, Jesus, obviously, honor, the father by keeping his word.

  108. He said I don't do anything on my own initiative.

  109. All I do is do what the father says, but the father didn't just

  110. have, Jesus come up to the mountain and sing to me.

  111. Okay, Jesus did not go up and pray and stay and then come down

  112. to the rest of the people. Man, I just had a great meeting

  113. with the father. It's amazing, this personal

  114. relationship. I have with him, if you only

  115. could have been on the mountain with me.

  116. I mean I was laid out in the spirit for hours.

  117. I mean, I got so excited one time.

  118. I just ran around the mountain. Y'all weren't there but it was

  119. awesome, right? I mean there's one night, man.

  120. It's the power of God came on me and I just shout to the top of

  121. my lungs, but y'all were asleep. This relationship.

  122. I have with him is awesome. But notice, every time he went

  123. back the father had assignments. So I need you to do this for

  124. this person and for this person. So obviously this personal

  125. relationship is not just about you.

  126. At all. Because if it was, Jesus would

  127. have stayed on the mountain until it was time for the cross,

  128. okay? Think about it.

  129. Why would he have to heal anybody?

  130. Feed anybody? Deliver anybody?

  131. I'll just stay up here, just me and my father got a great

  132. relationship going and then there's going to come a day, I'm

  133. gonna just come down, they're gonna throw me on the cross.

  134. I must shed my blood for you so that you can individually have a

  135. relationship with my father. And then y'all figure it out on

  136. your own. You and him, right?

  137. If you need your mom renewed, he'll do it.

  138. If you need to be healed, he'll do it.

  139. If you need to be. Right.

  140. So obviously, he honor the father by doing things for

  141. others. So, there are some

  142. relationships, then that have honor associated with them.

  143. Right. So again Jesus said again, look

  144. at this John 5:23 so that all will honor the son even as they

    John 5:23

  145. honor the father, he who does not honor.

  146. The son does not honor, the father who sent him, well, who's

  147. the son just to remind us John 1:1 in.

    John 1:1

  148. The beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the

  149. Word was God verse 14 to the same.

  150. And the word became flesh and dwelt among us.

  151. And we saw his glory glory, as the only begotten of the father,

  152. full of grace and truth. So who is the word that became

  153. flesh? What's his name?

  154. Come on. What's his name?

  155. His name is Jesus. Jesus is the son of God.

  156. So if we're going to honor the sun then we have to honor his

  157. word. And the word of God which is

  158. Genesis 1:1 to Revelations, 22:21 was inspired by the Holy

    Genesis 1:1

  159. Spirit who does not speak on his own initiative, but only what

  160. Jesus tells him. So when he spoke or moved upon

  161. men to pin things accurate historical accounts, Right.

  162. I mean, there's all kinds of stuff contained within the

  163. scripture. There's geography, archaeology,

  164. there's poetry. I mean, when he had him pinned,

  165. these particular things and then we get into just things Jesus

  166. said, prophecies, then we get the account of his own personal

  167. life. Then he talks about how the

  168. church all that was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

  169. They came from Jesus, which means than his word is to be

  170. followed. And so anything contained within

  171. scripture, then if we do that, it gives us the ability to begin

  172. to honor the son. Cuz we're doing the word, right?

  173. Okay. So John chapter 12 verse 26,

    John 12:26

  174. says it this way, if anyone serves me, Jesus says, he must

  175. follow me. Well, we can't physically follow

  176. him, can we? I mean, physically, Jesus is not

  177. physically present in the room where Jesus starts going this

  178. way. And I like, seeing and start

  179. walking with him. And I do, you know what?

  180. Jesus will you see the holes in his hand and his feet?

  181. I mean, I know it's Jesus, right?

  182. No. I mean, we're not physically

  183. following him, so, how, what does he mean?

  184. He says, if anyone follows, he says, if anyone that's not

  185. limited to, who was in the space of time, when he was walking on

  186. the planet, it's obviously following him at his word.

  187. If anyone serves me, he must follow me.

  188. Where I am there. My servant will be also

  189. Hallelujah. Because Jesus with the kingdom,

  190. if anyone serves me the father, what will he do?

  191. Well, honor him. So if we want to receive honor

  192. Then we are to serve Jesus. if we want the father to see us as

  193. Valuable and irreplaceable which means you got to change your

  194. mindset and quit. Seeing yourself as were unworthy

  195. and worthless. Now, again, if you're not

  196. serving Jesus that's probably why you feel that way.

  197. But when you serve him, then all of a sudden, the father honors,

  198. you and begins to talk about your value.

  199. Especially in Christ. And you realize how valuable you

  200. are to God. Now, you're not God, but God

  201. values you and there's nothing like being a relationship.

  202. When there's a shared value. Mean, who wants to be in the

  203. relationship? Where the one person knows?

  204. They don't give a rip about me but they're my world.

  205. That's a lopsided relationship Ron.

  206. Amen. So again if we're like man we

  207. love the father. But what's why would he love

  208. anyone? Like me, he honors you you're

  209. valuable to him and he highly esteems you especially when

  210. you're serving the sun. Are you hearing me?

  211. So then there are other things within the Bible that they the,

  212. the scripture tells us that we are to demonstrate, honor mean

  213. we are to place value on. We should see it as precious.

  214. Yes. The problem is a lot of the

  215. institutions that I'm going to talk about in the realm of

  216. relationship has had such an attack on it that most people

  217. don't know how to function with honor in it.

  218. But if we're going to really allow honor to be a part of our

  219. lives and the sphere of influence we have and then have

  220. the father honor us, then we must honor these relationships

  221. and the first one is outlined in Exodus.

  222. Right, Exodus 20:12 which tells us that honoring God is our

    Exodus 20:12

  223. number one, but when you honor, God, you'll honor the other

  224. relationships. That's what I'm saying.

  225. And then I'll explain a little bit more because I've had a few

  226. people. Come up to me in years in the

  227. years that I've ministered here and they perplexed about this

  228. particular one, but we're going to set some things straight

  229. tonight. Okay, honor your father and your

  230. mother. That your days may be prolonged

  231. in the land which the Lord your God gives you.

  232. So we are to honor our mother and our father.

  233. We are deceived mom and dad as valuable precious to be

  234. cherished. Now, the minute I say that, I

  235. understand not everybody's father or mother for that

  236. matter. Functioned as Godly So again,

  237. when God begins to speak, he doesn't always communicate

  238. individuals. What do I mean by that?

  239. He says the nation of Israel is mine.

  240. Well, you know how many citizens have been in the nation of

  241. Israel and you know, there are some citizens that will be

  242. thrown into the Lake of Fire. Not because God wants them there

  243. but it's because they did not do, but as far as Israel's

  244. concern it is still exist. Well you understand fathers and

  245. mothers exist so we should honor that there's fathers and

  246. mothers. Now, your own personal ones,

  247. there is a way to honor them, even if they're unrighteous We

  248. are not to honor just because of righteousness sake but even

  249. more. So when the righteousness is in

  250. play, don't get me wrong. But there is even a way to honor

  251. even when those in those roles are not living as God designed

  252. them to live. Okay, we'll see a little bit

  253. more here in Ephesians chapter 6.

    Ephesians 6 chapter mention

  254. Verse 1, through 3, it says that this way children obey, your

  255. parents in the Lord For this is what this is, right?

  256. Honor your father and your mother, which is the first

  257. commandment with a promise, so that it may be well with you and

  258. that you may live long on the earth.

  259. Now, I want to leave this up here for a minute because this

  260. help explain a few things. Okay?

  261. So if your mom and dad are unrighteous, you can still honor

  262. them through and simple Act of obedience but the obedience is

  263. qualified. Obey your parents.

  264. How how, in the Lord? Now what does that mean?

  265. That means God who was the one, you honor.

  266. First you do not honor your natural father or natural

  267. mother. If they're asking you to obey

  268. something unrighteous, that's not honoring them.

  269. Because it's violating your first honor which is God at the

  270. end of the day, I cannot do what you're asking me.

  271. Because you're violating me. Honoring God, So God's never

  272. asking a child to honor his mother and father at the expense

  273. of sinning. Is that clear?

  274. Okay, this is very important. I just recently talked with

  275. someone who was like, you know, my parents, you know, don't

  276. really want me to engage in church, you know, because they

  277. don't really believe in it, you know.

  278. But so I'm struggling with honor.

  279. My mother and father, I said this is not a struggle.

  280. You go to church because you honor God first and you're

  281. honoring them by being righteous and holy and there's other

  282. things you can do for your parents.

  283. Are you hearing me? Jesus, kind of gives us a little

  284. insight of things we shouldn't do, because when you did this,

  285. there was a result now, look at how Jesus kind of sum this up in

  286. Matthew 15 for, he said it this way for God, said, honor your

  287. father, your mother, and, and he, who speaks evil of father,

  288. or mother is to be put to death. So, one way that you honor, your

  289. parents is never to talk bad about it.

  290. Even if they're bad. Hallelujah.

  291. One way to demonstrate honor is just a still serve them.

  292. Right, what can I get? Can I get you something?

  293. Do you need me to do this for you?

  294. Can I help you? Pick something up today.

  295. Whatever the case may be, whatever that situation could

  296. happen where you are trying to serve them, you're trying to

  297. help them out. But at the end of the day, if

  298. they're pressuring you and you know, doing you shouldn't be

  299. talking about them behind your back is spat behind their back,

  300. especially among your siblings. Now simple across the board.

  301. If they are asking you to do stuff that's not a sin issue,

  302. like take the trash out. Right.

  303. Then, that's just a pretty simple fact, easy thing for a

  304. child to be to say, yes, sir or if you're raised from a

  305. different geographical location, and yes, is fine.

  306. Yes, Father. I will take out the trash, then

  307. that's honoring. Why?

  308. Cause you're just doing the simple request.

  309. Amen. When we don't and we rebelled,

  310. That's not honor. Now taking out the trash and I'm

  311. just being a little example. Okay, doesn't take away your

  312. individuality. It's amazing how many young

  313. people when I say young, I'm talking Elementary teenage and

  314. then young adults, that still live at the house with the

  315. parents. Okay.

  316. That all of a sudden want to take size over there on

  317. individual expression, and not be told anything.

  318. Come on. That's yeah.

  319. Remember when my oldest son was a little bit older and you know,

  320. he was had graduated and you know, he worked, you know, but

  321. he really didn't have to pay anything at the house.

  322. You know. I wouldn't ask him to pay me

  323. anything but you know it kind of came and gone and did you know

  324. really what he wanted to do is like free room and board and

  325. then doing what you want and I realize this isn't going to work

  326. so I was navigating my Transition relationship, where I

  327. realize I want you to make choices but you're still under

  328. my roof. And I'm not your slave that pays

  329. for all your stuff and clean your room.

  330. And takes out your trash. Right.

  331. So, if, if we need to go there where you can make your own

  332. choice, then it's time to move. I mean, there are certain areas

  333. that you're still going to be subject to.

  334. I'm not picking your clothes out every day.

  335. Right? There was a time that was done.

  336. I mean you're not losing your individuality in that but just

  337. common courtesy Man, I'm not the professional dishwasher.

  338. That when you put your stuff in the sink that I have to come

  339. behind now. Do I do it?

  340. Can I do it? Yes, but that's not the point.

  341. And you know what? With children as they get older,

  342. they've been served by their parents for so long.

  343. They'd sometimes don't know how to flip the switch and say, man,

  344. I should be serving them. because it's, honorable, I said,

  345. it's honorable, is it convenient all the time?

  346. No. Now when you get out of the

  347. house and the parents start calling, that's not convenient,

  348. it's not convenient. All I know my mom when she

  349. lifts, you know, here in town, sometimes she would call me.

  350. And I'm like, it was not a convenient time, but I would

  351. like navigate through it. Okay?

  352. What is it that we need? I remember one time.

  353. My mom call me for this. Can you get me a Coke?

  354. I mean I'm just trying to save the world right now, my mom.

  355. I'm like okay yeah well here's my schedule.

  356. Can I do it here? Yeah, that'd be fine.

  357. So now I get another thing but it's a small thing but in my

  358. mind I'm like well I'll I mean I'll do it for Mom.

  359. You know, she don't drink any more coats at my house, though.

  360. Cokes are gone, right? Amen.

  361. Maybe they weren't good for health.

  362. So, we're done with coax. So do not buy my mom, a Coke,

  363. you're not honoring your pastor, and we'll talk about that next

  364. week. All right, so we need to always

  365. speak. Well, now, that doesn't mean you

  366. can't have factual conversations about things going on with your

  367. parents. But if you're speaking with

  368. intent, your heart to cut them down to make them seem like

  369. something's wrong with them. They're beneath your speaking

  370. evil up, in fact, in the old Covenant, those people were put

  371. to death So the one reason why we lose an institution of honor

  372. is because we're not keeping it in the house.

  373. And let me just say it this way, you can't tell me.

  374. You're honoring a father. You can't see if you can't honor

  375. a father, you can period. You're a liar.

  376. You're a liar. You have to be able to honor.

  377. Naturally. Because they're in your face.

  378. And there's ways to do it now again, you are never to obey

  379. your parents into sin. Shouldn't do it.

  380. But you definitely can show other signs of honoring them in

  381. other ways, right? Taking them out to launch, doing

  382. stuff for them, cutting their grass, whatever.

  383. You know, and I've told my mom before, she's like, well, you

  384. know, she calls me, Earl Wayne. When my mental neck of my dad's

  385. name was actually Enoch. He didn't care for it.

  386. So he went by ew. And if anyone ever asks him

  387. what? Ew stood for.

  388. He said, Earl Wayne. So when I was born he didn't

  389. want me to have Enoch which would it be cool if he did on?

  390. I was a pastor. Right, cuz I could be another

  391. Enoch that was caught up. And never died on the earth.

  392. That would be like, super cool. But okay, Dad, I forgive you.

  393. So he said, I'll give you my initial so he gave me Earl

  394. Wayne. So obviously I was smaller than

  395. my dead as a child, so, you know, there would be Earl and

  396. Little Earl, but the problem with little Earl and I am little

  397. in one sense, right? But I actually have some family

  398. members on my dad's side that are little So they were called

  399. the little people when they grew up, actually the tallest male on

  400. my dad's mother side is 5 foot two.

  401. The tallest one. My grandmother was four foot

  402. eleven. Yeah.

  403. So my mom was like, well what if he takes after your mom's

  404. family? And I got some cousins that are

  405. smaller than I am. Right?

  406. And I'm not even big God, but I feel like a giant among my

  407. family anyway, so, you know, they just called me Earl Wayne

  408. instead so I am Earl Wayne to my mom, you're not my mom.

  409. So don't call me that. Okay.

  410. Anyway, So I don't know why I said all that, I had a great

  411. story. She said, Earl Wayne.

  412. She needs me to do something for I know and I'll figure out what

  413. that story is here in a bit. You know.

  414. Erlang. Can you?

  415. Yes, Mom, I'll do it. That's the moral of the story.

  416. So whatever it was, it was great.

  417. All right, so we need to honor our parents.

  418. Amen. She asked me to take her to the

  419. cemetery, the other day, my dad, my brother passed away already,

  420. you know? So we took a trip, you know, I

  421. mean I give you 100,000 reasons why I should not go there

  422. 100,000 other reasons, you know. But sometimes you just have to

  423. say you know, just got to do it and it's honorable amen.

  424. And you know, the Lord knows that and if I'll honor whom God

  425. tells me to honor, then he's going to on Me, Hallelujah, I'll

  426. be honest with you. I'm Not sewing.

  427. So my kids have talked bad about me.

  428. What say that again? I'm Not sewing.

  429. So my kids at talk bad about me. I'm not doing it.

  430. I just want you to understand the law of sowing and reaping is

  431. always in play, whatever, man, soweth that he will surely reap.

  432. So I recognize that. So I want a soul of compassion,

  433. Mercy, right? I want to show show show so

  434. honor to my parents, as they get older because at the end of the

  435. day, you know, I don't want to be left somewhere.

  436. All right. Amen.

  437. So we need to honor if we break down the into stitute sessions

  438. in the home, then it will affect how we honor, father God and has

  439. it not been attacked, right? I mean, there was a time mother

  440. mother and father was easy thing to say.

  441. But you know, in this in this room alone, many of you are May

  442. raise without one of your parents.

  443. Or step parents, you know, a dynamic that's different.

  444. Okay. The majority of people are in a

  445. blended family, Right. So again when you say, honor

  446. your mother and father, and some of you can honor a father that

  447. didn't give birth to you more. So because of how they rate and

  448. there's nothing wrong with that. Because again, Jesus said this,

  449. who was my mother and my brothers and sisters, those who

  450. do the will of my father. So, he qualified some things,

  451. you know, it's amazing. How many people get bent out?

  452. I'm talking like, in Rebellion, because they're trying to find a

  453. donor A reproductive donor. That was never around to try to

  454. find their identity. Now, I don't have a problem with

  455. you if your heart is because you need to show them.

  456. God. But finding the person who

  457. helped create you naturally is not going to set you free.

  458. It will Echo rejection. It definitely will do that.

  459. Now again, if you need to go and Lord telling you to go up to

  460. tell him, I forgive you to help set something free, some things

  461. and get motion something great, but if it's like, you can't be

  462. complete till, you know, whoever helped make you or who's never

  463. around and you know who it is, but they don't ever call you.

  464. Well, I'm just trying to honor him.

  465. You honor them by not talking about and if you've reached out

  466. and they don't want anything to do with you, then you can go on.

  467. And you're not dishonorable by trying to do birthdays and show

  468. them your grandkids and your kids.

  469. Now, you don't have to do that. It's amazing.

  470. How many people will rebel against a loving family unit to

  471. try to find someone that's never been around.

  472. And that, like gods in that, I give you a case where God got

  473. into play to pull one of Marcy's, family members back

  474. towards her, and all she did was like, Lord, I'm praying for my

  475. family to get, right? And we didn't realize we had a

  476. particular family member, but God brought him around.

  477. Didn't even have to hunt him down.

  478. Didn't even know that there was a hunt.

  479. And that context. Okay, not the Hunts here.

  480. You understand him, Sam. All right.

  481. Amen. So let's honor our parents.

  482. Next one is marriage. Okay, come on.

  483. Stay With Me. Please stay with me, Hebrews

    Hebrews 13:4

  484. 13:4. I really want to just kind of

  485. press through these families and get to next week, okay, but I

  486. don't have to, we can shut it down.

  487. If we need to Hebrews 13:4, says, marriage is to be held in

    Hebrews 13:4

  488. among all. And the mayor's bet is to be

  489. undefiled for fornicators and adulterers, God will judge.

  490. That's going to happen, Okay? So if you've ever fallen under

  491. the fornicator, adultery or category repent, so that the

  492. blood can get under it over it and we're past it and then keep

  493. yourself pure. Are you hearing me, okay?

  494. So the mayor's bed is to be are the marriages to be held in

  495. honor, among all. Now, the reason I go here, It is

  496. because you understand mother and father are married.

  497. So this why marriage has to be above, but most of us we Engage

  498. The Honor aspect nationally through our parent relationship.

  499. None of us come out of the womb married Okay, so there's that

  500. aspect, that we get to have an opportunity to honor something.

  501. But then and let me just say it this way.

  502. I don't care and neither does God.

  503. That you had crappy parents that did not demonstrate God kind of

  504. stuff because that doesn't Define you although it can put

  505. things in you that you're acting out.

  506. You're responding because it's kind of like subconsciously a

  507. part of your makeup because you've washed it be modeled for

  508. years. And you seek in your childhood

  509. that's normal but it's not when you find the word and the word

  510. is a tool enough alone to show you the right way to do it.

  511. Are you hearing me? There's a particular book that

  512. we had our staff go through and then I had some extended layers

  513. of leadership go through. It's very clinical book but it

  514. kind of takes you back to your childhood.

  515. And man it was rough for some people.

  516. Why? Because it uncovered some

  517. actions and attitudes. Now I had a lot of deniers

  518. initially when they go through the book, they like denying that

  519. ain't me but they can't point out their spouse or somebody

  520. else. Easy.

  521. So, I had a ghost, do not look for your spouse in the book.

  522. This is a inspection of yourself, okay?

  523. So, maybe how we can clearly identify everybody.

  524. I mean, we are clearly able to identify everybody else's

  525. problems and again, I don't have a problem with you identifying a

  526. problem. Even the Bible doesn't says,

  527. look if you before you go and take the speck out of your

  528. brother's eye, which he's not rebuking and saying you can't

  529. see the speck but there is a log that you need to deal with

  530. first. So let's deal with your lock,

  531. right? Because there's more to that

  532. spec then you might know. So let's get your log out of the

  533. way, all right? And so we took some Time to go

  534. through that. But I'd, it doesn't matter what

  535. your past is in Christ. You're a whole new species of

  536. being and the word will transform the way you respond in

  537. any situation. So you can't cop out and say,

  538. well, my mom and dad or my, you know, absentee father or my I

  539. was raised by my grandma or this, you can't do that.

  540. Well my dad treated my mom that way.

  541. Well, your heavenly father. Sure doesn't treat people like

  542. that and that's the one you supposed to go after.

  543. So at the end of the day, we can find ourselves in these pages so

  544. that we can function. The way God wanted us to

  545. function. But in that we have to come to

  546. grips with ourselves. Now it's amazing that I had a

  547. unequally yoked household growing up.

  548. I had a father that was not born again.

  549. All right. And I had a mom that was she

  550. took us to church. He did not, he worked and he

  551. drank and he smoked and he was in Rebellion.

  552. Okay, really to his own parents. Not to us now.

  553. He loved me like he thought he should love me.

  554. And I never feel like he did anything really bad growing up.

  555. Now when I put him to the word I'm like man, my dad was a mess.

  556. Right. But I don't have any horror

  557. stories about my dad. My dad with me, maybe 5 times.

  558. Didn't we ever want to get wet buying because they hurt more

  559. than my mom, right? And that was enough to know,

  560. don't want that? And when Mom said, I'm telling

  561. your dad, when he comes home, man, that was bad day, that's a

  562. bad day and you're like, asking for Mercy, right?

  563. They've em. I mean, in, he only had to do

  564. like one or two. That was it, you know, and when

  565. my dad get Too far over in his alcohol, he go to sleep.

  566. So I didn't have an abusive father and that context and the

  567. best drunk ever. I mean, I did, you know, my dad

  568. who, you know, drank took me to the bar.

  569. Okay, and I learned to play pool there.

  570. When I was only tall enough to get on one of those wood and

  571. Coca-Cola crates and stand on it to see over the pool table, to

  572. play pool, he drank beer, I drank you whose Amen.

  573. And there came later. Awesome times.

  574. That I drove home. On the side roads.

  575. Right. I knew my Dad loved me, how he

  576. knew to love me. but when I look at what he could have been, but

  577. that doesn't Define me and I don't resent him at the end of

  578. the day because he should have never defined me anyway.

  579. Now, my mom raised me in church but at the end of the day, she

  580. doesn't Define me either. Now, your story may be way worse

  581. than mine. That shouldn't Define you.

  582. Scripture should, so then you need to make sure your marriage

  583. is not a product of what you seen from your parents or lack

  584. thereof. Marriage is to be honored among

  585. all. And since God is the one who

  586. instituted it in the first place you'll find it in Genesis

    Genesis 2 chapter mention

  587. chapter 2. God brought the woman to the

  588. man. And he said that's a woman,

  589. right? He said they would become, he

  590. would leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife.

  591. Cling to his wife and they become one flesh, right?

  592. And it's to Hell among honor but we don't honor marriage.

  593. I mean, in our society, today not even among the church.

  594. Right. I mean people take the benefits

  595. of marriage before they ever say I do.

  596. But you're not getting the benefits of marriage.

  597. You're getting a thing called sin and it's a cheap substitute.

  598. I mean, when I do marriage counseling, I always have to ask

  599. question, have you been with anybody?

  600. I asked the question have you. It's kind of personal, I don't

  601. care. You know why?

  602. Because all the sex you had before you say I do the

  603. environment. There is different than the

  604. environment after I do. Because the environment of sex

  605. before marriage is called sin. That's an environment.

  606. There's something about it. That pool is it feels good, but

  607. there's an environment there. See, when you say I do now

  608. you're under a holy thing and the environments different.

  609. You know, what the devil to do, when the environment of holy

  610. comes in, when you don't recognize, you don't grow as a

  611. Believer, he'll start courting you back.

  612. Remember how it used to be and how it used to feel and how it

  613. used to? Well, you can only get a pre

  614. marriage six and barment after you're married in a Thing Called

  615. adultery, Now, all of a sudden we don't love our spouse.

  616. This next person, all of a sudden is giving me that

  617. environment I used to have when I was a fornicator.

  618. Okay, I'm preaching better and you are saying, but that's fun.

  619. See, this is why some people won't sleep with her husband's

  620. now. Or vice versa is because they

  621. are stuck in an environment that was ungodly.

  622. But now you're in an I do Under the Lord and he wants to bless

  623. that thing. I just tell you right now, I

  624. refuse to have a lost person. Be able to have sex more than a

  625. believer. Yep, it's crazy.

  626. I mean I am ordained by God. And the holdout that's happening

  627. in the marriage. Covenant is crazy.

  628. Okay, well, I don't feel like it.

  629. I don't feel like living by faith but I do.

  630. Cuz I don't go by the way. I feel Okay.

  631. Y'all don't want to hear? No, I want to talk about

  632. marriage. Y'all just want me to talk about

  633. something else. You don't me to come to your

  634. bedroom. That's what it is.

  635. See when a wife is doing something.

  636. When they don't feel like it there at like it's a problem.

  637. No, it's called honor. Just read First Corinthians 7.

  638. I mean, the minute you said I do it was an open exchange that no

  639. longer your body is yours and my body is mine.

  640. Now, I understand, it's crazy. I get it.

  641. Because, again, you listen to society instead of read the

  642. Bible, And because so many people have done it outside the

  643. marriage covenant, they think that feeling of wanting is like

  644. something's wrong on the inside. Okay.

  645. Hallelujah. I mean if you're a wife and

  646. you're like, look man, my husband's like all that you need

  647. to get it together and vice versa, he said, oh that's easy

  648. for a man to say they always what guys don't always want it.

  649. So that's a lie in and of itself. and again, if you track

  650. natural biology guys, Peak at a certain time when they're a

  651. certain age, and then women Peak later, Some of the men right

  652. now. We're going to please pick,

  653. honey. Please pick.

  654. I get it. But all of a sudden, here's the

  655. problem. The first part of your marriage.

  656. You weren't in Peak mode, in the husband was like, come on.

  657. What are you doing? Let's go.

  658. We're married, man. Come on.

  659. I love you. You're like all you listen.

  660. I mean unless you love me. Then why we have to do it's a

  661. natural progression. Right?

  662. It is a natural progression. You shouldn't feel ashamed

  663. because I tell you, I love you. I touch you.

  664. I clean. We do whatever your love

  665. language is if you believe in the love languages.

  666. Okay. Then at the end of the day,

  667. there can be a natural progression to that form of

  668. intimacy, which the Bible had as a type and Shadow of Christ.

  669. And the church I mean, I got husbands and wives wanting to

  670. get into the presence of God layout in the spirit, but won't

  671. lay out in front of their spouse.

  672. And you got to get over yourself too.

  673. Oh yes, we better go. You better go.

  674. We're gonna turn this into a marriage.

  675. Say, well, I'm single Pastor would then don't get married

  676. until you're ready because if you can't stand out and show

  677. yourself to your husband, say, come on.

  678. And you got a problem with that because all the lights of God be

  679. off. If you don't want, you got us a

  680. problem. Eve had to walk around in the

  681. day. I do not believe God brought her

  682. there at night. He's like, man.

  683. In fact, he only wanted her covered up after sin, but now we

  684. let in the world at like, you know they hanging everything out

  685. all the way down at the beach and then we got Sanctified, Holy

  686. Ghost, filled, people who like turn off all the what is wrong.

  687. the only things wrong is that you're insecure with how you

  688. look but your spouse isn't because again if we're that

  689. shallow that I'm only married for your skin suit.

  690. Well then I'm like the rest of the world.

  691. Anyway. I'm not saying don't take care

  692. of yourself. I'm just saying at the end of

  693. the day, boy, I'm telling you right now.

  694. I tell my wife, you know, because as we get older and then

  695. you hear of, you know, older guys failing with younger

  696. people, you know, she'll say, she'll say and I'll say, listen,

  697. there is no way on God's green earth that I would ever be with

  698. anybody. But you because number one, you

  699. have tested faith. I mean to waste Just the

  700. ministry on some tights. Can something that ain't pass

  701. one step of faith, that all hang on, through one trial, one

  702. trivia. I mean, that's like a waste of

  703. my time. I mean, it's a sin against God,

  704. first and foremost anyway, but at the end of the day, why would

  705. I risk everything on something like that?

  706. When the reality is, that's not even them.

  707. They're inside. That's who I'm looking at.

  708. My wife told me, I'll never marry after you.

  709. I know why. And I've said this a forget it

  710. I'm not not doing it. I think my my kids don't my

  711. wife. Does she like you couldn't do it

  712. alone? Okay.

  713. I just honor you that much. Because a lot of times, you

  714. know, when you love to be with someone love to be connected.

  715. I meant now when I was younger, it was very difficult to just

  716. hold her urine arms, do not want to go all the way through as I

  717. get older. That's easier. because, again,

  718. you've gone through stuffing realize, you know what, it's

  719. okay to not have to our go there, but if we did, we could

  720. because nobody's just sitting here holding back.

  721. Because that barrage is to be a honored above everything.

  722. And that's all that the mayor's offers Hallelujah.

  723. First Peter 3:7. Well, stop here with this one.

    1 Peter 3:7

  724. Praise the Lord. Now my my wife's not here

  725. tonight. Okay.

  726. She's with my mom. So don't be talking to her on

  727. Sunday. Given half-truths and you know

  728. she can listen online and get full context.

  729. So don't be like, I know why you won't don't don't do stuff like

  730. that. How to be more mature than that?

  731. Amen. I'm just telling you as

  732. Believers, we should have the most thriving and I'm not

  733. talking about physical. I'm talking spiritual emotional

  734. everything, my best friend is my wife.

  735. Right, man, I can talk to her about anything.

  736. But just like to take long drives, that's fine.

  737. Whatever. Maybe she sent me on assignment,

  738. she's The Decorator. I get it.

  739. And so I'm like, I'm gonna get some trim for the fireplace and

  740. I said you going to go well no, I'll stay here and I said, well

  741. then you understand. I'm going to pick it out.

  742. Now, we had talked about a particular trim but there was no

  743. definite. I want this trim conversation.

  744. Was like yeah I see that that's nice and that's it.

  745. That doesn't mean by this tram only.

  746. So you know the gaps a little bit bigger and I was thinking

  747. you know, after the tile job so I'm like okay so I'm like you

  748. know, I like this it matches what I did up top and it had

  749. coverage is great. So I bought it came back, cut

  750. it, I mean I'm like I ain't playing around.

  751. I mean, if we don't finish this project Right?

  752. I cut it. Thirty six and seven.

  753. Eighths inch bam both of them. Stuck them up there and she's

  754. like what is that? Well, I guess the trim.

  755. Why did you get that one? I told you that if you send me,

  756. I'll get what I get. I mean, we didn't have a

  757. conversation. Well, it's covering too much of

  758. the tall. I said, what did you pick that?

  759. I said, look, it matches, what? We did up top.

  760. It even has the rounded corner right here the edge.

  761. I mean, I had pretty beautiful design guys, right?

  762. In my logic. I don't like it then it doesn't

  763. matter because we're getting whatever you want at this point.

  764. I just wish you'd had a me. Absolute, I'm going back.

  765. I'm gonna go back right now. That's right.

  766. That's what how I felt motivated.

  767. I'll go back right now. I didn't go back right then

  768. because doing the saint was more important.

  769. But at the end of the day, we got the trim.

  770. She wanted. And you know, she was right.

  771. I meant I was the one who suggested it first anyway, I

  772. didn't follow through with that design.

  773. Right. Amen.

  774. So you do it. I mean we could get over

  775. differences like that. Yes, hard to replace.

  776. It took years of growing in the word.

  777. Geez. Anyway, First Peter chapter 37.

  778. I mean close. I got to get you all out of

  779. here. Your husband in the same way,

  780. live with your wives in an understanding way as with

  781. someone weaker since she is a woman.

  782. Now, please don't get offended ladies, when I say that because

  783. some of y'all are stronger than most men in here.

  784. I get it but not every person and again biologically, they're

  785. different. Okay.

  786. So obviously that's what the Lord means in that context and

  787. he created a woman for a purpose, he didn't create you to

  788. be a man. So for you, trying to do things

  789. better than a man is misplaced priority.

  790. You should just want to thrive as a woman.

  791. That doesn't mean you can't be strong, you know physically

  792. right. At the end of the day I'm just

  793. saying your goal is not to see how many men you can dominate.

  794. Okay, since she is a woman and show her what honor, as a fellow

  795. heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be

  796. hindered. Now, reason I brought this

  797. scripture up about honors because the first one is says

  798. marriage is to be held and honor which implies both husband and

  799. wife should develop honor towards one another.

  800. But then Peter specifically says now husband is honor your wife.

  801. Which means husbands have been told to honor his wife twice.

  802. Now, why is that? Because Jesus says when it comes

  803. to a mayor, is that a man is to love his wife like Christ.

  804. Loved the church. He gives that as an example then

  805. he gives another example. A man should love his wife like

  806. he loves himself. Because what happens is a man

  807. because of the fall of humanity. And the fact that Eve did was to

  808. deceive and ate the fruit. And because sin entered in the

  809. planet, instead of them being specifically code Dominion, all

  810. of a sudden Adam now is over as wife, although he was still

  811. over. In the sense that he was given

  812. the command, not to eat the fruit.

  813. Okay? And when I say that, I'm just

  814. saying he's the head of the house.

  815. All right? But that being ahead of the

  816. house doesn't mean, you shouldn't listen to your wife

  817. because God will speak to your wife.

  818. So many times and make your head spin as you see because you're

  819. not listening. Anyway, But what happens is men

  820. began to take this role of being over to their heads.

  821. They begin to dominate their wives.

  822. Not like they're not smarter than them.

  823. They're not better than them. They can't do it better than

  824. them. So is like, you need to honor

  825. and here's the thing. If you're not doing it right

  826. then, I don't care how much you pray.

  827. Because that's the problem. Now, God is answering your

  828. prayers. In proportion to your, honoring

  829. your spouse. So if my wife ever talks to me

  830. about, I might need to change my attitude.

  831. I have to listen. I got to know is that perception

  832. or reality? Because of this reality, my

  833. prayer lost fixing to be hindered.

  834. And that's a problem because I can't have my prayer life.

  835. Endured, can't have my relationship with God.

  836. Have something clogged up in it. When again, if I'm not honoring,

  837. my wife that I see every day, then how can I say?

  838. I'm honoring God, So Jesus said, if you want the father, honor,

  839. you number one, you're going to need to honor your mom and your

  840. dad wherever they're at and the Spectrum, right?

  841. Number two, you need to honor the marriage if you're married,

  842. and if you're single right now, They remain single.

  843. Meaning. I mean enjoy singleness at this

  844. juncture. Okay, don't try to be in a

  845. marriage relationship while you're single.

  846. You may be in a relationship or desire to have a relationship,

  847. but a lot if you want it to be the best them move towards

  848. godliness. Because at the end of the day,

  849. the minute, you marry, you have trouble.

  850. You cannot avoid it because you are, will they are a will and

  851. you've got to work this thing together now.

  852. And those Wills don't always come together every day.

  853. So compromise, has to take place.

  854. If you find yourself, I won't compromise for nothing.

  855. Well, then you're not ready for marriage.

  856. All right. I want to get married so they'll

  857. serve me. You're not ready for marriage.

  858. If you want to get married, just have sex all the time.

  859. You're really not marry ready for married marriage.

  860. But the Bible does say is better to marry than to burn in your

  861. lust. It does say that.

  862. All right, so we want to honor so husband's.

  863. I'm gonna give you a assignment. I want you to find five ways.

  864. You can honor your spouse this week.

  865. Five ways. Wives, I'ma give you an

  866. assignment. You need to find 4 ways.

  867. Now, why is that? Cause when he honors you, you

  868. would return it when he honors. You you to return it when he

  869. honors. You return it, right?

  870. But he should get the last honor.

  871. He should never let you get the last.

  872. Because Christ is always doing for us beyond what we could ever

  873. do. So, no matter how much I want to

  874. honor him, he's like, does exceedingly abundantly far

  875. beyond what I could think of. Imagine I'm like cheese.

  876. Wow. Lord, you're awesome.

  877. For all of you in the room, find a way to honor your parents this

  878. week, whether it's just call them, maybe go and have

  879. breakfast with him if you can do that.

  880. I mean, whatever the Lord lays on your heart.

  881. But just exercise it and watch what it does in your life.
