Thanks for checking out the anchor Faith, Message podcast
-
from st. Augustine Florida, now enjoyed
-
this message. Alright well let's get right
-
into it. To turn over to James chapter 3
James 3 chapter mention
-
you know I heard a minister by the name of dr.
-
Myles Munroe and he's gone on to be with the Lord, but he made
-
this statement. Said, it's not enough that you
-
know, that you were born. It's not enough.
-
You need to know why. But no one why you were born
-
isn't enough either. You didn't know why you do what
-
you do because you can know why you're born and still blow it
-
because why you're doing why you were born?
-
Has great implications. Why you do?
-
Why you were born? Do you understand what I'm
-
saying? It will become very clear.
-
So in James chapter 3, James says this and he's talking to
James 3 chapter mention
-
the church now. He says he says, but if you have
-
bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not
-
be arrogant. So lie against the truth.
-
This wisdom is not that which comes down from above but is
-
Earthly natural demonic verse 16 for jealousy.
-
And here it is. Selfish ambition exist.
-
There is disorder and every evil thing.
-
So the ambition that we have will determine our quality of
-
life. Whether we are receiving from a
-
natural Earthly or demonic realm, or whether we're
-
receiving from God. Are you hearing me?
-
So here James is talking to the church.
-
He not talking to the lost to those outside of God's kingdom.
-
He's talking to those inside his kingdom.
-
He says, now, why you do what you do is very important because
-
if you have selfish ambition, see jealousy, only can manifest
-
if selfish ambition is there Are you hearing me when there's a
-
selfish ambition? I'm doing this because of me.
-
How does it help me? How does it benefit me?
-
What about me? Well, at that point.
-
It will put you in a place where you'll begin to lie against the
-
truth. You lie against the truth and
-
then the wisdom that you begin to demonstrate the, the plans
-
that start coming to your mod of how to accomplish something.
-
Will not come from heaven, but it had come from another Realm.
-
I said another realm, then it means anything.
-
You actually accomplished actually has around it disorder
-
and every evil thing, every evil thing.
-
You say Pastor, are we talking about this?
-
Why? Because the Bible tells us in
-
the last of the last days, many will be deceived.
-
Many will be deceived. Now we would think you know
-
because again when you just gloss over the Bible you think.
-
Well that's that's those that are outside of God kingdom.
-
It's obvious, they're going to be deceived.
-
Well, they're already deceived, they're not going to be they are
-
the veils already over their eyes.
-
Their father is the father of lie.
-
So this ain't about, they're going to be deceived.
-
So when the when the the scripture tells when Paul's
-
admonishing in the last days there will be many who will go
-
into deception. That will be He's not talking
-
about those that are already in deception.
-
He's talking about those who have the capacity to not be
-
deceived, but what would cause a person to be deceived?
-
Well, as long as you have some kind of selfish ambition about
-
yourself, you will be deceived. Not you might You will as long
-
as something within you has this.
-
What about me when you going to recognize me?
-
When they going to talk about me?
-
Where am I gonna get my, what about me?
-
Don't they appreciate that individual will be deceived
-
period. How do we know this?
-
Well, all we have to do is Trace where the first layer of
-
deception, man. Tested.
-
And it's recorded in Isaiah. Chapter 14 and Isaiah chapter.
Isaiah 14 chapter mention
-
14. God had created a perfect
-
creation and he had Angels assigned to help him do things
-
in his creation. He had one particular, one is
-
called the Morning Star, the King James calls him, Lucifer,
-
he was anointed cherub, but yet he developed a selfish ambition,
-
Within him because Ezekiel Khan explains how he got lifted up in
-
Pride. He saw his own Beauty and fat
-
Ezekiel, even talks about how he spent time in the garden.
-
And the time in the garden, was it the time that he showed up
-
with Eve, okay, at the end of the day, he decided that he had
-
an ambition that lied against the truth.
-
And it's recorded here in Isaiah, 14 verses 12 to 16.
-
He says, all he said, how you have fallen from Heaven, All
-
Star of the morning. Son of the Dawn.
-
You have been cut down to the Earth.
-
You have weakened the nation's but you said in your heart, I
-
will Ascend to Heaven. I will raise my throne above the
-
stars of God. I will sit on the Mount of the
-
assembly in the recesses of the north ah, will Ascend above the
-
heights of the clouds ah will make myself like The most high
-
selfish ambition. But it God says nevertheless,
-
you will be thrust down the shield to the recesses of the
-
pit, those who see you will gaze at you.
-
They will ponder over you saying is this not is this the man who
-
made the Earth tremble? Who shook kingdoms?
-
I love what Pastor John George said to our men this weekend.
-
He says it's not like the devil is, is choosing in the context
-
of well, you know, No, maybe today I'll be good.
-
He chooses and he desires to be the opposite of God.
-
And there's no Redemption for him.
-
We should never feel sorry for the devil ever, because he
-
chooses to be rebellious from the things of God.
-
Why? Because he looked to himself and
-
says, I can do it better than God.
-
I want my name better. I want mine and let me why we
-
saying this this morning because we live in a society full of
-
selfish ambition. Selfish ambition, what man
-
people want to be known. Yeah.
-
I mean that's why there's so many YouTube videos and so many
-
YouTube influencers. Everybody wants to be known,
-
they are jockeying for position and they don't realize that that
-
particular attitude subjects. Them to deception.
-
Are you hearing what I'm saying? And so here, this anointed
-
cherub the Bible says in Ezekiel he fell because he had a selfish
-
ambition that you know what? But I'm gonna take over the seat
-
of God, I want to place, I was never created to be in.
-
Are you hearing me? Well, did this happen in the
-
book of Beginnings? If we go back to the Garden, we
-
can see in Genesis 3:1. That now this anointed cherub
-
that has been thrown down influences a serpent and shows
-
up in the guard. Look what it says.
-
Now, the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field,
-
which the Lord God had made, and he said to the woman, indeed has
-
God said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden now.
-
Why does he want to know what God said?
-
Because he wants to lie against the truth.
-
Because when you have selfish ambition, you will lie against
-
the truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the so
-
he needs to know God's word in order for Allah to manifest and
-
the woman said to the serpent from the fruit of the Trees of
-
the garden. We may eat of the fruit of the
-
tree which is in the middle of the garden.
-
That is the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil.
-
God said You shall not eat from it or touch or you'll die in The
-
Serpent says to her, you surely will not die.
-
Die for God knows that in the day.
-
You eat it, you from it. Your eyes will be open.
-
And you'll be like, God knowing good and evil.
-
He's trying to create in her a selfish ambition, to be able to
-
now, Noah truth but then get arrogant for the Bible tells us
-
that this anointed cherub got lifted up in his pride.
-
He became arrogant because of selfish ambition.
-
And then in turn began to reason that God's word is not going to
-
be the final in my life. That there's something Beyond
-
it. There exists a power beyond it,
-
in fact, I'll no longer be subject to it all.
-
But Jesus testify to that day that he decided he would make a,
-
he would storm the Throne of Heaven.
-
Jesus said, I saw Satan fall like, lightning from Heaven.
-
Are you hearing me because his Amounted to nothing but a swift
-
kick out and there's coming a day that he's going to be thrown
-
into the Lake of Fire forever and be tormented, which is the
-
prison system of the kingdom. Are you hearing me?
-
But here we see that he asked her concerning these things and
-
when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that was a
-
delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make one
-
wise, but the woman was already why she was made in the image of
-
God. Notice she wanted to have a
-
wisdom beyond God, but James warns us.
-
If you start walking in a wisdom, that is against the
-
truth. It is Earthly natural and
-
demonic And disorder and every evil thing exists there and so
-
it says she took from its fruit eight and she gave also to her
-
husband with her. And what did he do?
-
He ain't Adam and Eve chose to have a selfish ambition that I
-
will rule this Earth without God.
-
I'll no longer be subject to him.
-
We know in Genesis 1, God's plan for man, according to Genesis
-
1:26. It said let us make man in our
-
image according to our likeness and let them rule, have dominion
-
over the fish of the sea, birds of the sky over all the cattle
-
over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth over all the
-
Earth. So man had Dominion on the
-
earth, he already had rulership but all of a sudden the selfish
-
ambition was is that I want to be able to rule without God, I
-
want to have the Say this is the problem with Satan he himself
-
was given rulership. He had a form of rulership in
-
his created position but a selfish ambition took over and
-
as a result of that evil manifests now God dealt with the
-
evil in his room, he kicked him out.
-
Adam should have dealt with the same evil in his realm and
-
kicked it out. But instead, he took the selfish
-
ambition. And because of that, the Bible
-
tells us in entered the world. Now unfortunately, we are
-
subject now to this father who was the father of lies because
-
all of us, have sinned and fallen short of the glory of
-
God. We are of the nature of man.
-
Now, the Fallen nature of man. And you know what we all want.
-
We want to be known. Before we ever came into the
-
kingdom, it was all about self-preservation.
-
It's all about me. What about me?
-
What about in our relationships? What about me in our jobs?
-
What about me? In our community.
-
What about me among our peers, but what about me?
-
Our family members, what about me, everything we did was all
-
about getting things so that it benefits our own interests are
-
business decisions. The people that we decided to
-
have relations. How will this help me out in the
-
end? Even when we go into - places
-
meaning were hurt and instead, we're like, what about me?
-
I want to release the I'm feeling pain, so we don't want
-
nobody to help us. So we'll go in our own Direction
-
and Medicaid ourselves, or drink alcohol, or do stuff that puts
-
us in a position to try to forget.
-
And then, what about me? What about my heartache?
-
What about what I went through? What about what I'm when am I
-
gonna get mine? Now it's Sounds like wow, we
-
should have compassion now. We do have compassion.
-
Why? Because we want people to come
-
out of selfish ambition. But we shouldn't be working.
-
Passion is not to feed their selfish ambition but to deliver
-
them from it. Come on.
-
Are you hearing what I'm saying? In fact Philippians 2:3 says it
-
this way do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit.
-
But with humility of Mind, regard one another, as more
-
important than yourselves. Now, why am I bringing this out?
-
Why? Because we are in a society
-
like, never before Of where we are pulling out personalities.
-
I lived and I'm 52 years old. So it wasn't that long ago, I
-
mean things have really progressed.
-
It wasn't so long ago that when you talked about a team, you
-
only talked about the name of the team.
-
That's all you talked about, you talked about, you know, whatever
-
that team name was. But now when it comes to teams
-
it, Tha he talked about the star and the team, their name and the
-
team's name. Well, wait a minute, they're
-
part of the team. Why are we talking only about
-
them? Why are we only talking about
-
what they're doing now today? We have gotten it to the sports
-
side. Were athletes.
-
Go into places only saying, How does this benefit?
-
Me. How does this benefit me?
-
How's this gonna make me look good?
-
I mean, right now, we have quarterbacks all through the
-
college realm that are jumping from school to school.
-
Why? Because what about it ain't
-
about a tea. It's about.
-
When am I gonna get my shot? They're not gonna give me one
-
here. When I this one, I loved about
-
Kyle Trask. When he played for the
-
University of Florida, the guy never played.
-
But never left. He could have gone to plenty of
-
schools but at the end of the day, and what's he doing today?
-
Not playing. He is playing NFL football
-
without playing. He's getting paid to back up the
-
greatest quarterback that's ever played the game at the end of
-
the day, but you think he's learning something.
-
See we have lost team, concept or Oneness in the sense that
-
we're all individuals, but coming together, we're one and
-
I'm while the we can celebrate each other's positions and each.
-
There's abilities of what we bring to the team.
-
The reality is we're a team. I mean at this point you can't
-
even talk about college football without knowing the quarterbacks
-
name. But what is the center's name?
-
You know, the center holds the ball more than the quarterback.
-
The center will touch the ball more than the quarterback.
-
Kyle, sometimes the quarterback will line up I'll as a receiver
-
or come up at the center will give it to a back you know,
-
could be a wildcat formation. He'll touch the ball more than
-
anybody but we have no idea what he is.
-
Let me ask you this question. How many NFL quarterbacks could
-
do what they do without that line?
-
But we don't call that the line are those names and the team.
-
You know, what happens in politics, it's happening in
-
music talking about, you know, used to be a band's name, but
-
then they start pulling out the lead singer and it's there.
-
And here's the thing it's crept into the church because now it's
-
not the church's worship is the church's worship.
-
Featuring Featuring got to have their name.
-
It's good to have their name now.
-
And it even happens with pastors.
-
This is now this is a personal conviction.
-
So by no means, if somebody's pastors name is out on a church,
-
am I saying they have selfish ambition?
-
I'm just saying. Jesus Christ is the head of the
-
church. I'm just Pastor in it.
-
I have God will establish my name, but at the end of the day,
-
it's not about my name. It's about his name.
-
Because if we would take John, the Baptist call to this thing
-
called the body of Christ. I must decrease.
-
He must increase, but have you noticed that everybody wants to
-
make a name for themselves? What about me?
-
What about my name? What about what I'm doing?
-
And if selfish ambition exists, every evil exists, and if
-
selfish ambition exists, you will deceive be deceived and lie
-
against the truth. Meaning, you will do things.
-
Contrary to the word of God. Thinking you're getting ahead.
-
Adam thought I'll get ahead. If I disobey and eat this fruit,
-
the anointed cherub the King James calls him, Lucifer, he
-
said, I'll get ahead, I can go higher, you can't go higher than
-
what God has made you to be and here's the crazy thing so many
-
people are so busy trying to make a name for themselves
-
instead of knowing god knows my name.
-
I mean how can you arrive more when Jesus knows your name?
-
When he sent his Spirit to call you out of Darkness into His
-
Marvelous Light, when he personally called you to come
-
out of that thing and it all of a sudden, now you're a child of
-
the king and you want somebody else to know you.
-
I mean, all I care about is does Jesus know who I am.
-
That's all that matters and all that matters is whatever I'm
-
doing. It makes you think of his name
-
thinking of his name who he is now.
-
Don't you think Jesus was a great example because the
-
Philippian let the Paul's letter to the Philippians Church tells
-
them to do nothing from selfishness which tells us in if
-
he's telling a church you could live a selfless life.
-
Then it must be obtainable. Hallelujah.
-
I said it must be obtainable. It must be obtainable.
-
Do you know how many musicians today started their musical
-
career in church? But then someone told them, I'll
-
make your name great. And now they sing stuff.
-
That doesn't glorify God and do you really think?
-
Just cause they put out a gospel album?
-
They're loving the Lord. No, cuz they know if I put out a
-
gospel album, the church is so gullible they'll buy it.
-
It's just another stream of income.
-
Oh my goodness. No, guys, looking for character.
-
And then here's the thing, God knows, our heart.
-
Today's message is a liberating message.
-
Why? Because, you can get free from
-
selfish ambition. Give free from it.
-
Give free from it, just be absolutely free.
-
I have no selfish ambition. All I want to do is the will of
-
God for my life go. See when you don't have a
-
selfish ambition than anything. Anyone else is doing?
-
You won't ever be jealous of it? I can't believe they're letting
-
Minister, they haven't asked me yet.
-
What? Oh, I'm preaching way better.
-
I mean, I'll deal with the household of God.
-
Why? Because many people have been
-
hurt by the church only because there have been believers.
-
Who did not eradicate their selfish ambition.
-
And they created an atmosphere of every evil thing.
-
I mean, I don't mom when the church honors and weights and
-
wants to serve the role of the pastor, but make no mistake
-
about it. You're gonna see me serve you.
-
Because at the end of the day, it's about us doing something
-
together. I want to be known as.
-
Oh, that's the pastor of anchor faith.
-
I want to be lost in a vision that when they see me they see
-
Vision more than they see my name.
-
Now, that doesn't mean you can't have a name, you won't be
-
established or name because God has no problem to establish
-
someone's name when he knows, they always point you back to
-
him and I'm not talking to fake stuff just because someone gets
-
an award On a stage for their acting.
-
And then they say, I just want to thank the Lord means they're
-
serving or you don't want to hear it.
-
Judas could not assimilate to be a true follower of Jesus.
-
Because he had a selfish ambition.
-
His ambition was that I'll get close to the Messiah, everybody
-
knows the messiah's coming, the Kings coming, the Kings coming,
-
the Kings coming, he's the king, they're saying he's the king.
-
Look at the miracles signs and wonders that are happening.
-
With this guy, the king, this must be him.
-
And I'm gonna get close because we, you know what he is going to
-
establish my name. He picked me. but when he
-
started to think this guy's not trying to get on the throne, I
-
don't know how this is going to start, he's denying himself all
-
the time. I mean, I've never walked around
-
someone so selfless in my life. I mean he's not making a demand
-
on the throne. And at this point, I'm here and
-
there's too many people against. I need a side with a different
-
party again. Oh, you don't want it.
-
So, uh, what can I do to sell this?
-
How can I profit from this relationship?
-
It's amazing. How many Believers come to me as
-
a pastor, if you would just do this.
-
And basically take pieces of the world, bring it into the church,
-
so we can be known. I'm no and how big that
-
influence is really relevant to me.
-
That's up to God. He's the one who calls the
-
increase. I refuse to do anything.
-
He's not giving me instruction to, but look what it says here
-
in 1st Corinthians. Just to let you know.
-
We're talking about Believers here.
-
First Corinthians chapter 13 starting in verse 1.
1 Corinthians 13 chapter mention
-
Actually, it says, if I speak with the tongues of men or of
-
angels, but do not have love. I have become a noisy, gong and
-
a clanging cymbal. Have you ever been in a church
-
where it just sounds like a bunch of noise?
-
And they're doing super natural or Supernatural things.
-
They're tapping in to Supernatural benefits of God but
-
the atmosphere See, this is what we don't understand is how our
-
ambition is an atmosphere carrier.
-
You can speak with the tongues of men or the tongues of angels,
-
meaning, you can be eloquent in your speech among men that
-
they're drawn and captivated by how you speak, or you can even
-
speak the language of God, but if your ambition is selfish,
-
then love is not there. I'm going to show you.
-
Why love's not there and that means you are just noise.
-
Although you can emotionally move people, let's go on.
-
He said, if you have the gift of Prophecy and know, all
-
Mysteries, and all knowledge and if I have all Faith so as to
-
remove mountains, that's a god kind of Faith, but do not have I
-
am how many people want to prophesy just so that you'll
-
know they prophesied so they use, hey Whoa man.
-
God use them. They're like, yeah God uses me.
-
God uses me. Sometimes when you come to me
-
and say, hey, I believe I got some from the lord.
-
Well, we gonna find out what she got because you may actually
-
have the gift of Prophecy from God.
-
That needs to be delivered. You may actually be tapping in
-
by faith, but your life is fixing to be exposed the men and
-
I credit God use you Oh, you don't want to hear that, okay?
-
Because then it will expose why? Or maybe your initial was I'm
-
here in God. But then all of a sudden, the
-
accolades of you hearing God starts showing up.
-
And it will expose your true ambition.
-
And unless you cut that off and say not, it's not about me, it's
-
not about me and I'm not talking false humility.
-
I'm talking, it is not about me. I've asked myself often if I do
-
nothing else, would it is it? Okay?
-
I mean, people want to be Isaiah or Elijah but they don't want to
-
be Obadiah. Obadiah one.
-
Chap couple chapter know, very little book.
-
I mean what is God? Only used you one time publicly.
-
Could you be okay with that? Because here's the problem.
-
If you're like I just I know God wants to you.
-
That's that's silliness. God wants to use everyone.
-
The fact you're even meditating. I know God wants to use me.
-
And if you're consumed with wind, will he?
-
And when am I going? You're going to have a harder
-
time because really you're tapping into a selfish ambition,
-
you're trying to be known. I said you're trying to be known
-
verse 3 and if I give all my possessions to feed the poor and
-
if I Surrender my body right that it may be burned.
-
It says this but do not have love.
-
What's it? Do you know how many people are
-
giving to organization? I tell you right now.
-
Coach Bo could testify to this to I guarantee you people are To
-
West oxton not because they care about the community.
-
It's because they want to be known that they gave to a
-
community, although they really are caring about it.
-
You know, there's a lot of wealthy people that will give to
-
causes not because they care about it, but because they care
-
about the tax return. But they stand in front of the
-
newspapers. They have the big checks out
-
there aren't there like posting everywhere.
-
Look what we did. Look how much we gave look how
-
we did this look. We want to get coverage so
-
everybody knows. Selfish ambition.
-
Selfish ambition. Are you hearing what I'm saying?
-
Let's go on but he goes on and says this.
-
Then starting to Define love, love is its patient lovers con.
-
It's not jealous. Which means in if jealousies
-
manifesting How come they get to sing?
-
That lead? How come Pastor?
-
Put them in that position. How come they got promoted at
-
work? You might as well go ahead and
-
MIT. You got a selfish ambition, you
-
need to crucify. You need to cut it off because
-
the devil wants to deceive you. Well, I would do better in that
-
position. They'll I mean, I love God, I'd
-
be a gretter influencer whether you're in a position.
-
Not doesn't stop you from influencing with God, josef's
-
greatest influence was when he was in prison.
-
Oh, you don't want to hear that. His greatest influence was when
-
he was thrown in prison because it was his encounter with other
-
inmates that ultimately got him an invitation, before the king,
-
it was not. His encounter with his parents,
-
it was not his encounter with the oh what was the name man?
-
The, the he was sold to as a slave.
-
Potiphar wasn't Potiphar's house.
-
Potiphar sure. Didn't say nothing about him far
-
as Potiphar's concern. I can't believe the Kings got a
-
rapist up there. There's no indication Potter
-
forever believe that Joseph did not rape his wife, or try to So
-
none of those relationships propelled him.
-
What propelled him was he was always knowing there's a word
-
from, you know, how many to Opportunities he let go.
-
And even when he stands before Pharaoh that day, no selfish
-
ambition. As you've heard me preach
-
before. He stands before the king, the
-
king tells him the dream, he knows the interpretation, and at
-
this point he could say, okay, the Lord has given me the
-
interpretation of the dream. I got it.
-
But this is what I like to do. I would like to secure my
-
release because I'm innocent, and you know what?
-
He was innocent and that this point, this is my opportunity,
-
God has given me. My opportunity to secure my
-
release. He did not negotiate the safety
-
of his own life selflessness. He had no guarantee the Pharaoh
-
Pharaoh wasn't saved, man. That's good.
-
All right. Now, you understand the charges
-
are attempted rape. You're a Hebrew, which means
-
they were prejudiced against them and that policy never
-
changed. Even when he was made Prince,
-
the Egyptians would not eat. With Joseph cuz they saw them as
-
low. Some he was the man in charge
-
unless the King was on the throne and he could not change
-
the policy of the land. Yet, he still served because it
-
was not about that. It was bigger and in a selfish
-
response, he gives him an answer and then crazy.
-
He, he tells him his dream but then he gives him the answer on
-
how to overcome Really. You know why?
-
A person can do that? Because they already know.
-
Well, God promotes me anyway. So you thought me back in
-
prison? I'm this.
-
He gonna have to come out that the end of day, I'm coming out,
-
I had a dream and he showed me what I would be and whether this
-
is that moment or not, I do not know.
-
All I know is when the moment comes it would be that God did
-
it. And I didn't manipulate, I will
-
give you an answer if well, we're manipulating I said we're
-
manipulating now, honey. I'll do that.
-
If okay, one manipulating. We start to manipulate while
-
selfish ambition Joseph didn't do it.
-
Love is patient. Love is kind is not jealous.
-
Love does not brag is not. Arrogant does not act
-
unbecomingly. It does not.
-
Seek its own. Now we're going to Camp right
-
there on that one spot. Love does not keep secrets on
-
here's the thing the Rick Renner interpretive version defines.
-
It does not seek its own this way.
-
Love is not ambitious. Self-centered are so consumed
-
with itself that it never thinks of the needs or desires that
-
others possess Now, why do I say that?
-
Because John the Gospel of John? Our first John tells us that God
-
is love, which means? Then God, if God is love and God
-
is the word in the beginning was the word, the word was with God,
-
the word that means the word is love and the word is Jesus,
-
which means Jesus is Love and love, doesn't seek its own.
-
It's always thinking about the needs of others first.
-
It's not about its ambition, it's about the reason why I'm
-
here. Jesus knew I was here, he was
-
sent by the father. So how did love, who doesn't
-
seek his own operate? The scripture tells us in John
-
Chapter 5 Verse 30. He says, I can do nothing on my
-
own initiative as I hear I judge and my judgment is just because
-
I, I do, not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
-
I don't do it. I don't think Mom.
-
It's not that he couldn't he chose not to why.
-
Because love is not selfish. In many relationships.
-
People are saying I love you and that's a lie.
-
They really should say I'm lusting for you because I want
-
what I can get out of you. I want what, what you, how you
-
can meet my need and give me pleasure.
-
I'm talking about people who said, I do still, Even saying I
-
do. Lusting.
-
Now operating in love because when you go do something for me,
-
when you go do something for me, when you going to do something
-
for me, Well, the husband is the head of the house he is, which
-
means he should be the head servant.
-
The one who heads in servine because the greatest in the
-
kingdom of God, is the servant all that mean.
-
Your wife runs over you. That means you run to your wife
-
to serve her and you don't have to expect that you'll get
-
anything, although it will happen.
-
Hallelujah. Because they'll discover who
-
they are. My wife text me while we were
-
gone and she said thank you for all those years calling me a
-
woman of God. Wow she said that I was blown
-
away by it honest I was blown away, not that she's not done.
-
Give me a cue late. And I'm not saying it's just
-
that something happened in the meeting or there that she just
-
had a realization again, when she's fixing to minister to
-
women and know all the junk, these women have gone through
-
And she's having a talking about being bold and don't live in
-
your past. And somewhere along the line.
-
The Lord reflecting says, remember how I used to call you
-
before you thought you were amen.
-
But she always was, I said she always was and out of that.
-
It pulled greatness. Why?
-
Because she's not there for her. Now, she's there because she's
-
on assignment and she realizes, you know what?
-
There was a time. I didn't believe, and I know
-
there's women today based on what she's going to minister.
-
No, they won't believe what I'm going to say about them because
-
I've been there, but I know it's true and then out of Honor.
-
She thanked me of that moment. She thanked me of that moment.
-
She thanked me of that moment. I mean, she's been so good to
-
me. So get she better silver and
-
gold. It's amazing, it's amazing.
-
And how would I not want to serve?
-
I mean, I was running around doing all kind of stuff, because
-
I love my house and I want to get things done because I want
-
to do other things that just projects, right people call them
-
honeydews. They are my dues, I mean,
-
because it's my house too. I quit at like it's just hers.
-
I mean I don't want her to walk around thinking that I would
-
live in a dump. I wouldn't live in a dump.
-
Amen. I refuse to live in a dump,
-
Hallelujah. So we just go and I heard my mom
-
was walk around saying, man, she's gonna love that.
-
Oh, she's gonna be so excited. I'm like she's gonna be excited
-
and it's worth doing it and as much as we can get done before
-
and I was trying to figure out how I could accomplish more
-
again. Why cause it's my house.
-
I want to see it done but man, I know it takes pleasure in her so
-
I mean left lights on when she got there at like 1:30 1:45,
-
whatever was at am. Now I say I was up.
-
I Wait up. I mean when I say that I did
-
kind of doze off. I text her.
-
She didn't respond that. They were leaving the airport
-
yet. I set my little watch here for
-
30 minutes. I'll get a 30 minute, you know,
-
in to sleep. Let it go off and it did no one
-
was there. So I did another 15 minutes and
-
they see, you know, there she is, something like I didn't know
-
you were leaving, you know, I wanted to greet you at the
-
garage, right? Because you're worth waiting not
-
for being in your bag in. And then look at this kitchen.
-
Right. This is what you've been
-
dreaming of. Hi, doctor said Marcia, it's
-
exactly as you imagined it. I mean, it's functioning just
-
like you thought your idea was phenomenal?
-
Yeah, I mean I didn't put the chairs on my couch because my
-
dog's a little rebellious, I got them their own bed, but if I
-
don't put a chair on the couch, she'll rebell.
-
Many times, I wanted to kick her out like the Lord did Satan, but
-
she has an advocate with the mother stay off my couch,
-
Alleluia John chapter, 8, verse 28.
-
Jesus said this, he says. So Jesus said when you lift up
-
the son of man then you will know that I am.
-
He and that I can do nothing on my own initiative but I speak
-
these things. Paul as the father, taught me,
-
what I love about Jesus is that Jesus?
-
When he calls us to himself, he's including us.
-
He's given us assignment purpose.
-
He's allowing us to find ourselves and release our gifts,
-
but since Jesus is known as love, that became flesh and an
-
attribute of Love, is it doesn't seek its own.
-
Let's look how Jesus had responses.
-
Look at Matthew, chapter 4 verse 23.
-
Jesus was a lot different than most ministers today.
-
Indefinitely most Christians in general look, what it says when
-
Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and
-
preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and what was he doing?
-
Healing all manner of sickness has and all manner of disease.
-
Among the people look what it says his Fame.
-
What did he do? His Fame went out through also
-
Syria and they brought unto him. All sick people that were taken
-
with divers diseases and torments and those who are
-
oppressed of the devil. Levels with Devils, right?
-
Look at this, Jesus was doing these things.
-
And with those who were the King James says lunatic and those who
-
had the palsy, he healed them and they're followed him.
-
Great multitudes of people from Galilee, from decapolis, from
-
Jerusalem, from Judea. And from Beyond the Jordan, just
-
because he says, I'm not seeking my own, I'm doing the will of
-
the father. Notice Fame came.
-
It's amazing. How many people want to
-
establish their own Fame? Yet, if you're actually just do
-
God, there's a Fame in and of itself.
-
And the devil deceives us in our fruits and our rewards by trying
-
to get us to take his path to fame.
-
Instead of the Lord's path to fame.
-
chapter 5 verse 14 and 15, and he chars him to tell, no man,
-
but go and show thyself to the priest and offer for thy
-
cleansing, according to Moses commanded as a testimony, but so
-
much. The more went there, a Fame
-
abroad and great multitudes came together to hear and to be
-
healed by him of their infirmities.
-
In Matthew 4, he healed. He cast out Devils.
-
He's performing Miracles, Fame came, but in the midst of
-
Performing Miracles, look what he said to people in verse 14,
-
he charged hymns to tell. No, he said now, listen, I know
-
we just finished a meeting and you just got healed and this
-
never happened, but I want you talking to people.
-
But what do we do? We posted on social media, We
-
need everybody to know. Okay, this is the society.
-
Listen. It's in the atmosphere.
-
Now, let's I'm not against you posting things that people say,
-
I'm not saying that, you gotta ask.
-
Why? I mean, don't think I ain't
-
gonna talk to my creative team is saying I might make an
-
adjustment. Don't be talking about the
-
Miracles here. They need to get out of
-
different way. You can talk about the church
-
and talk about the messaging talk about the word, but don't
-
be saying so many people got healed.
-
Don't be talking about that because of Jesus Christ.
-
The King says, don't tell nobody.
-
But now Pastor, if they know well, don't you think the Lord
-
knows? And at the end of the day, let
-
the one who got healed, take care, because here's the real
-
issue. I love being under the radar In
-
fact, same to Jesus, hindered him.
-
We want to become so famous that it can actually hinder your gift
-
Jesus became so famous. The Bible says, he could even go
-
into the metropolitan areas anymore.
-
In fact, his Fame cause people to not hunger for him but they
-
wanted him to just perform that at the end of his three years.
-
He had to take people out of cities because they were talking
-
too much. You would think.
-
Don't you want to testify? We should testify sometimes.
-
Oh, you don't want to hear, but we want people to testify about
-
how God used us. Oh, there's so many ministers
-
today. Pastor, John can tell you so
-
many ministers today. So many ministers today, right?
-
So many the private families here.
-
So many men, as you all know, so many ministers today, are
-
looking for the Accolade. Now, it's one thing for us as
-
ministers to share things that are happening, but I again,
-
we're already famous as far as we're concerned in the eyes of
-
our King, we're just doing the works of God and we're giving
-
him glory man went to me man. And it was powerful, what God
-
did he did this, this this. I'm not saying that's for that,
-
you know, God and do nothing. Anyway, I just Obedient to him
-
and he did it. And when you actually have that
-
motive, it will promote you, but if you actually have the other
-
one, you're wondering why you're not get more invites.
-
Okay because here's the thing you know but here's the thing
-
you don't always know because the minute you let that selfish
-
ambition get to deception. Then you'll deceive yourself
-
that you're not selfish. That you're actually doing it
-
for others, but yet there's attitudes and there's actions
-
about your life that are contrary to the love.
-
In general, like being jealous being envious, being short,
-
tempered with other people again, Todd stand up back there
-
in the back. He's in think sticky little head
-
as far as leave your hands, you know, he's there and right.
-
He's young guy. I've had a minister on Wednesday
-
night. There may have been people say,
-
well, how come he's let him preach.
-
Why you have that problem? You should rejoice.
-
They got juice and Gifts. Talents, amen.
-
Well these people just got you, the church.
-
How come Pastor use them? Well, they may be 11th Hour
-
people. I'm going to use them just cause
-
you've been here, 18 years to me and I'm obligated.
-
Keep using you. Oh, you don't, maybe we've use
-
you. And you don't need any more
-
public use. Maybe that's what God wants you
-
to do. Now, Tinker faith is just be the
-
one behind the scenes, praying interceding.
-
I I used to be in that position. I used to do this.
-
I was there how come they won't? Let maybe it's time for someone
-
else. Cuz this ain't about you.
-
It's about the vision. It's about the team.
-
I mean at the end of the day, if the starting quarterback loses
-
his spot in practice, he doesn't get kicked off the team and if
-
the new quarterback wins the championship, the one who used
-
to be gets the ring as well. But what it is.
-
The ring ain't good enough now. Oh And we're willing to Forfeit
-
rewards for akyol AIDS, but I have to be known as the one who
-
took the team. See now west Augustine.
-
Y'all know this more than we in our league.
-
We have to fight against that with our young men.
-
That they don't cause now we got recruitment in college.
-
Will make a name for you here. Now put their pictures up on the
-
stadium. And they will have to learn how
-
to navigate in that kind of society where they won't take
-
credit. To where they'll be able to say.
-
This isn't about me. It's about my team and always
-
talked about the team told about the team talking about the team.
-
Now, I have nothing to say about the quarterback for Tampa.
-
Other than that individual has proven through his career, that
-
he's willing to take less financially to get more people
-
around for the purpose of a team, winning a championship,
-
which tells me there's something about a team concept.
-
They still have that they're willing to take less to bring
-
more on so that after Something can be accomplished because
-
getting the reward together is more important than having a
-
stat and being known as the most.
-
I mean, seriously does anyone think that somebody else and the
-
32 teams, which would be 31 now deserve more money.
-
But yes, some are more are higher paid.
-
And don't you have it and they have less rings.
-
And that's just one aspect. How much more us, who has the
-
love of God shed abroad in our hearts?
-
How much more look what else? Jesus said this, he said this
-
in. Mark chapter 1.
Mark 1 chapter mention
-
Again, how did Jesus deal with people?
-
When the miraculous was taken place?
-
In Mark chapter 1, verse 23 to 27 modern.
-
King James says it this way in their synagogue, was a man with
-
an unclean spirit and he cried out saying, what is to do, what
-
is too. Us and to you.
-
Jesus of Nazareth. Have you come to destroy us?
-
I know who you are. The Holy One of God.
-
And Jesus rebuked saying be quiet and come out of him and
-
the unclean Spirit convulsing him and crying with a loud
-
voice. He came out and they were all
-
amazed as to question among themselves saying, what is this,
-
what new doctrine is this that even that he even commands, the
-
unclean spirits with authority and they obey him notice?
-
He said he don't want the devil advertising for him.
-
Like shut up, don't talk about me.
-
I don't need you to advertise for me.
-
Not only did Jesus deal with people who were healed and said
-
don't talk about this. Don't tell nobody.
-
But then when the demons try to start talking, he says shut up,
-
don't talk about it. Don't mess up, what I'm doing.
-
But if we don't watch out, we want people to know.
-
See, Jesus is greatest selfless moment, we find in Luke 22, Luke
-
22. All this brings us to this
-
moment in Luke. 22. Jesus is in the garden.
-
The night. He's going to be portrayed by
-
the disciple. He picked, who would not would
-
not eradicate selfish ambition and how many churches are split
-
or damaged because a saint has a selfish ambition.
-
Anytime a Saints talking about a pastor behind their back.
-
Guess what? Selfish ambition.
-
Selfish ambition exist. They're jealous RMB me.
-
Why would you tell bad? Because at the end of the day,
-
do you know God has the ability to remove?
-
This means they don't trust God. David is actually anointed of
-
God and he waits for God to remove salt even though he has
-
literal evidence. and then, when the Certain members of the
-
congregation sympathize with him.
-
And says, let's overthrow the pastor.
-
Hallelujah. There's no such thing as a
-
church split among Saints. Who are selfless?
-
There's no such thing as gossip backbiting, among the saints,
-
who are selfless. It can't exist because you
-
eradicate it with love, but if you have it, I don't care.
-
Whatever are your life. You may be the most selfless in
-
your marriage, the most selfless among church members, but you
-
have this desire to be known as the greatest business ever,
-
We're going to have a problem. Anything I want to be the
-
greatest athlete. I want to be the if you're the
-
greatest athlete, great, why do we debate on who the goat is?
-
Why do we have these debates? I personally think the goat may
-
have never showed up. Because there's a lot of young
-
men and women who didn't have enough self-discipline and they
-
were far better athletes. And one reason why is because in
-
fact some of the greatest athletes we talked about today
-
you'll see a time in their life where they began to put the team
-
now that didn't mean they didn't know if you get it in my hands I
-
can do something but they had to include the rest. and that's
-
just on a marginal level, how about in the body of Christ, And
-
he says to his father, his father.
-
If you're willing to remove this cup from me yet, Jesus would be
-
selfless, even to the point of death, he had no self
-
preservation. Jesus says, I'm going to go and
-
be considered a murderer. They are going to slander me.
-
I'm fixing getting a meeting where they going all slander me.
-
They going to lie about me, they going to talk wrong about me,
-
you know, that ain't true. Member wanted to high priests a,
-
what do you got to say about yourself?
-
Because he knows I don't really care about what you think about
-
my reputation only care about one person thinking about me
-
right now, and that's my daddy. So in the world's I they
-
believed that they eliminated a problem, someone unworthy to
-
even be on the planet. But in the father's eye, he said
-
this one's going to be given the name above every name.
-
This one is going to be given the name above every name, but
-
you're so cool because we have a name, too.
-
It's amazing how the devil dupes us.
-
And we are living in a culture. Now that is all about me.
-
And don't think it's not around you.
-
But today, you could pray this prayer.
-
Today could be your day of Liberation.
-
Today you could recognize I know my wife.
-
And I want to, I want my why to be the love of God with no
-
selfish ambition and Lord, no matter what you ask me to do.
-
I have a response. Yes.
-
Lord. Well, how's that going to make
-
you look done? My, this is not about what it
-
makes me look. This is not about my look you
-
know, people name-drop. Been around name droppers.
-
I've been with so-and-so so-and-so and so-and-so.
-
Are you name-dropping? He's trying to get your name
-
associated with. You want your name to be in the
-
room with those names? It creeps in so many ways.
-
It's there. I'm all I'm saying is it can be
-
there and you know why we have to deal with us.
-
Let me tell you why, because we lived only a selfish ambitious
-
life prior to Christ and he has to renew our minds, which means
-
he has in our spirit. We are selfless.
-
But in our mind, we have the residue.
-
Of wanting to be known and be the greatest. and it seems
-
Innocent, but every evil, I may try to develop myself to be the
-
best. I can be according to what God's
-
given me. I want to maximize, but at the
-
end of the day, it's amazing what God can do to very
-
undeveloped things. That doesn't mean we shouldn't
-
grow and improve. Because anything he's telling me
-
to tear off breakdown get off my life is so that I'm less and
-
less selfish and more and more selfless.
-
And then when I hear about something, someone says or
-
something, didn't go the way I thought I can say my God.
-
What you gonna do pastor? But God we're going to do,
-
honey. But God.
-
Doesn't matter. They're lying about you doesn't
-
matter. Welcome to the life of Jesus.
-
Who has the name? Of every day.
-
I just thought I'd be doing more.
-
There's too much of you, that's why you can't. because, when you
-
begin to live selfless or selfish selfless, It's amazing.
-
What God has start talking to you about believing you be like
-
I can't do that. I cannot do that in love myself
-
and you almost like, why are you asking me?
-
Somebody else do that. But as Pastor, John George says,
-
the Lord is moving through the Earth.
-
Looking whom he may show himself Mighty and strong again and he's
-
only going to show himself strong and those who are after
-
his heart. Thank you so much for listening
