Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast
-
from St. Augustine, FL.
-
Now enjoy this message. Well, we've been ministering on
-
the Holy Spirit for several weeks now.
-
Had a break and then pastor wanted to minister last
-
Wednesday to everybody. But I want to continue on with
-
the ministry of the Holy Spirit and I don't have time to go back
-
and recap because we have really covered a lot concerning the
-
Holy Spirit. And for those that still want to
-
know more about the Holy Spirit, I encourage you to go back and
-
listen to all the podcast. You know, on these Wednesday
-
nights, so that you can become more acquainted with the
-
ministry of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
-
You know, one thing that I was thinking about today is, you
-
know, when we get born again, our life begins as, you know, a
-
journey with the Lord. You know, when we get born
-
again, it's not a, you know, end of all things, but a lot of
-
people live like that. But when you get born again, you
-
just then what? Enter into the Kingdom of God.
-
And when you enter into the Kingdom of God, he calls you a
-
babe in Christ. We are not supernatural spirit,
-
you know, beings that know everything there is to know
-
about God, about who he is and how he operates automatically,
-
just because we get born again. When we get born again and we
-
come into the Kingdom of God. Really, the journey just begins
-
in discovering. Who we are and who he has made
-
us to be as His children, right and citizens in the Kingdom of
-
God, or part of the family of God.
-
Amen. And so once we get born again
-
and we come into the Kingdom. There are so many things that we
-
have to learn and grow in knowing who God is.
-
But not only knowing who God is, knowing who we are.
-
Now in Christ the journey just begins.
-
And I was looking back on my life and you know, we have so
-
many new people, you know and and through the years I've
-
shared. A little bits and pieces of of
-
my testimony and different things, but the Lord has really
-
been bringing up to me, you know, just certain things that
-
specifically happened in my life and my wall with Christ that has
-
brought me to the place that I'm with and in today.
-
And it's very important that you recognize, as I said, you just
-
don't get born again and become this spiritual person, right?
-
It is a process. It is a process, and it's a
-
transformation. And so many people abort.
-
The full purpose and plans that God has for their life.
-
One, because they don't understand the working of the
-
ministry now of the Holy Spirit in our life, OK.
-
And so, you know, he was reminding me just about some
-
things and when I first got started on this journey.
-
You know, I got born again at 8 years old at a vacation Bible
-
school. I'm gonna share a little bit.
-
OK? Is that alright with everybody
-
tonight? Because I believe that it's
-
important, because this is gonna help you in those times that you
-
feel like giving up, you know, falling away.
-
Rejecting and denying some things that we've talked about
-
with the concerning the Holy Spirit and then help you learn
-
how to simply yield to some things that you may not
-
completely understand. You may not completely
-
understand everything that God is doing in your life.
-
But if you will just begin to yield to a certain nudges and
-
certain things, you'll see that that is the working of the Holy
-
Spirit's ministry in your life, OK?
-
And so he reminded me of the fact that at 8 years old, I got
-
born again at a vacation Bible school.
-
My family did not go to church on A.
-
You know, every day, Sunday, Wednesday, we may occasionally
-
have went. Maybe when I was younger I
-
really don't recall ever being a part of a church or going to a
-
church on a consistent basis. But I did get born again at 8
-
years old in Laldy, Florida at Northside Baptist Church.
-
I remember. I remember.
-
That's how powerful the seed of God is in your life.
-
Got water baptized at 8 years old.
-
And remember the encounter of God as a 8 year old little girl.
-
That was I knew God was real. I knew he was real.
-
I knew I had encountered him. But because of my life and
-
different events and you know, things that I went through as a
-
child and and growing up and of course we it's not like I went
-
back to church after that vacation Bible school.
-
We didn't go back to church on a consistent basis or anything
-
like that. So I wasn't in a in the church.
-
I did not know how to grow or even understand what I had just
-
experienced. In my life, right?
-
I'm sure there's many people in here that can relate to that.
-
That's why I'm so thankful that we have a children's ministry,
-
that you should be also encouraging your children with.
-
What you are receiving is the word of God that can change your
-
absolute life and start teaching them how to apply it to their
-
everyday lives. As children, As youth, right.
-
So because I didn't have that growing up, OK?
-
And so the Lord reminded me of when I really didn't know
-
anything about God, OK, But I knew I had encountered him at 8
-
years old, and I knew he was real.
-
And no one could really ever take that away from me because I
-
knew he was real. Even though I didn't know what
-
to do with it after the fact, right.
-
And so then, you know I get pregnant at 15.
-
Well, anyway, get pregnant at 15 because of my life.
-
And you know have my oldest son at 16 but between 16 and 18.
-
I started having nudges from the Holy Spirit in my life and I did
-
not know. I can tell you what it is today,
-
but at the time, I did not know that that was the Holy Spirit.
-
I did not know that that was the Holy Spirit.
-
I did not know anything that I know today about the Holy
-
Spirit. I didn't know any of this stuff,
-
right. I was just barely born again.
-
But between 16 and 18, because I'm now with a child, married
-
and ready to, like, grow up, because I have to, now that I
-
have a child and responsibility, you know, the Lord started just
-
nudging me. I couldn't tell you that it was
-
the Lord. I just felt like something on
-
the inside was nudging me, that I needed to go to a church.
-
I didn't even know what church to go to.
-
And so I started, I went to a church.
-
And the reason I went to this Church of God is because, you
-
know, my exhusband. His sister and brother-in-law
-
were going to a Church of God at the time.
-
And so I just thought, and they invited us there.
-
And so I just thought, OK, well, I'm just going to go to this
-
Church of God. Well, I knew nothing about the
-
Holy Spirit. Well, evidently this Church of
-
God was a Church of God that spoke in tongues, right?
-
I didn't know nothing about this or anything.
-
And so, you know, here all along the Holy Spirit is nudging me to
-
go to church, to, you know, make some changes in my life because
-
now I'm a young, you know, mother and out of school and all
-
these things. And so I start going, and I get
-
filled with the Holy Ghost and these, you know, Pentecostal
-
women. Took me under my under their
-
wing and started ministering to me in a way and I did not
-
realize today what God was doing then until today.
-
But took me under their wing and started kind of mothering me
-
when I was. I was still in and out at that
-
time because the other half didn't want anything to do with
-
it. Still wanted to be a teenager?
-
Live like a teenager, You know, Act like a teenager, do all the.
-
You know, things that we were doing and you know, but so I was
-
navigating that situation. But I'll never forget one time I
-
was at home after I have received the in feeling of the
-
holy or spoken tongues. Didn't know that this was
-
something you could do on a continual basis.
-
I didn't know anything about it. Just thought it was an
-
experience at church, right? That you need.
-
And wasn't taught that I could pray in tongues and all these
-
things at any moment. You know, I didn't know
-
anything, right. And so I got myself a Bible and
-
started reading my Bible. And, you know, on and off going
-
through all this. Well, by the time I'm 18, I'm in
-
the midst of a separation and a divorce.
-
And you know. I'm like, really defeated and
-
thinking what's gonna happen with my life, You know, what
-
have I done? You know, what have I done?
-
What have I done? What's gonna happen with my life
-
now? You know I'm not gonna have
-
anybody to help me take care of my child.
-
You know, I'm here, all these things.
-
And I just remember. The Holy Spirit, I didn't know
-
it was him then. I'm just telling you, that's who
-
it is, right? Because I just remember him
-
nudging me to pick up the word and begin to start reading the
-
Bible. And so I picked up the Bible and
-
started reading it. And then all of a sudden I
-
started singing a song, right? Because he lives.
-
I can face tomorrow because he lives.
-
You know, all fear is gone. And because he lives, I have
-
hope for the future. You know all these things.
-
I knew I was singing it all in my prayer walk today and can't
-
even sing it now. But so you know, all along,
-
knowing I didn't know this was God, this was the Holy Spirit
-
working and nudging and doing these things in my life.
-
But I just yielded to these things because I felt his
-
presence and I didn't understand what was happening and and those
-
few moments, you know? There.
-
And I just began to yield to these things.
-
And some of you've heard, you know, it was even still during
-
that process that you know, I was reading in Matthew and and
-
the Holy Spirit began to speak to me out of the word of God and
-
said, you have hatred in your heart towards your Father and
-
you need to ask him to forgive you.
-
That was all through this whole span.
-
Of time, of all of these things that I was going through, and
-
all along the Holy Spirit is nudging me and speaking to me in
-
these ways and in these things. And I didn't know, but all I
-
knew is I had to do what I was feeling, you know, on the
-
inside, because I knew that it had to have been God, obviously,
-
if it was coming from His word. And so just began to take those
-
little steps and yielding when I didn't know what was happening,
-
I didn't know that that was the Holy Spirit.
-
I didn't know that that's how God would begin to speak to you
-
through His word. And so, you know, doing that is
-
where my journey with my relationship with the Lord
-
started. It started there and simply
-
yielding to some of those nudges and some of those things.
-
And I couldn't explain it then, but I know what it is now.
-
And when I look back along that journey and along my life
-
through those years of, you know, everything that I went
-
through, it was all the Holy Spirit working in my life.
-
And me yielding. And every time I, because I had
-
encountered that, I mean he literally came, his presence
-
came into my home at that time. And so I can encountered a piece
-
like I had never encountered before.
-
I had encountered, you know, his presence, like I had never
-
experienced anything before in my life.
-
And so all along I would just begin to yield to those things
-
on this journey and on this walk with him.
-
And it was during 18 to 21 going through all of that, you know,
-
and beginning to cry out to the Lord and say, Lord, I don't want
-
this kind of life. I cried out to him and he came
-
into the room. And he began to minister to me,
-
and I couldn't explain it. I just knew I was encountering
-
his love like I had never encountered before.
-
And so from those points on, I just began to start yielding as
-
I went along my life and walk with him.
-
And the more you do that and submit to the things that you're
-
hearing or the nudges that you're receiving, even if you
-
don't understand it and you can't explain it.
-
But if you do it, you'll begin to walk in and walk by the
-
Spirit of God in your life, and will be in a place when you look
-
back and say but God. But God, and it starts like
-
that. And let me tell you, it does not
-
end until the day we get taken up and glorified and return and
-
all those things. Listen, you will always have to
-
yield. Yield to those things of the
-
Holy Spirit. If we want to see our lives
-
completely restored, come on. If we want to see our lives
-
completely in the plan and the purposes that God has for us.
-
If we want to completely see restoration of what the enemy
-
try and how the enemy try to destroy our lives.
-
Right. If we want to see complete and
-
healthy wholeness that God wants for every single person,
-
complete restoration, we must learn how to yield to those
-
things in the on the inside and submit to it.
-
That's what that means. When you yield to it, you're
-
submitting to it. And the bottom line is, if we
-
don't submit to it, God can't do anything about it, can't do
-
anything about it, nothing. But we have to learn how to
-
yield to those things on the inside.
-
And that's what I want to talk about tonight.
-
The inner working of the Holy Spirit.
-
The inner working. Of the Holy Spirit, I can tell
-
you right now that God has completely restored my life,
-
100% spirit, soul and body. And that's what He wants for
-
every one of His children, every one of His children.
-
But it's up to us to yield to it.
-
To simply yield to the Holy Spirit that's working within our
-
lives. So we're going to start with the
-
inner working of the Holy Spirit.
-
There's two functions, main functions of the ministry of the
-
Holy Spirit, and that is what we've heard about is the Spirit
-
within and the Spirit upon. And so tonight we're going to
-
start on our journey with the Spirit Within.
-
Now we know that once we get born again, we have the Spirit
-
of God living on the inside of us, right When we get born
-
again, we're going to see through all of these Scriptures
-
that we see that the Holy Spirit comes to dwell on the inside of
-
us. And we're gonna see the workings
-
of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and what the
-
responsibility, you know, the that the Holy Spirit has
-
responsibilities, what the Holy Spirit's responsibility is in
-
the inner working of a believer once we get born again.
-
You know, we've said this, Most people, when you hear people
-
talk about the Holy Spirit, the first thing they talk about is,
-
you know, the gifts of tongues. And all they think about is
-
speaking in tongues. Or when people hear about the
-
Holy Spirit, all they think about is the power and the
-
feelings and all the things like that.
-
But there's not much talk about the inner working of the Holy
-
Spirit. And the inner working of the
-
Holy Spirit is the most important side.
-
We need it all. But we can't have the power and
-
neglect the working of what he needs to do on the inside.
-
Because I'm gonna tell you what the power can't sustain.
-
If you don't have the character of the working and the
-
sanctification of the inner working of the Holy Spirit, you
-
will get kooky. You will get crazy.
-
You will get extreme. You will get fanatical without
-
the inner working of yielding to the character of God, the nature
-
of God, and all of the things that the responsibility of the
-
Holy Spirit's job to bring the sanctification and holiness of
-
God. You will get cookie.
-
You'll get off if you don't begin to allow the inner working
-
of the Holy Spirit in your life because it can't sustain it.
-
And so it's very important because listen, this is part of
-
a believer's growth in Christ. We've talked about that we are
-
to what, mature as believers we are to grow up spiritually, and
-
we cannot grow up spiritually if we refuse the inner working of
-
the Holy Spirit in our lives. K So you can be born again and
-
never allow God to do, never allow the Holy Spirit to work
-
within you, you can be born again and never allow the Holy
-
Spirit inner working within your life.
-
K And so we have to take the responsibility to allowing the
-
Holy Spirit to do that in our working by us yielding to it,
-
OK, by yielding to it. So the responsibility of the
-
Holy Spirit is to teach us we've we've read many of these
-
scriptures, but to mature us and to grow us up spiritually to
-
produce the 9 characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit and the
-
nature of God. And the Holy Spirit's
-
responsibility is all about producing moral character,
-
lifestyle, behaviors and characteristics of the Kingdom
-
of God within your life. That's what the inner working of
-
the Holy Spirit within us is to do, OK?
-
It's to develop us, to mature us, and to produce the
-
characteristic and the character of God as Kingdom citizens in
-
the earth. What true Kingdom citizens look
-
like. OK, Doctor, Miles Monroe said
-
this about concerning the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit is
-
about developing the relationship that you have with
-
God. It's about developing the
-
communication that you have with God.
-
It's about developing the representation of who you are in
-
Christ. How we represent Christ, which
-
has to do with character and nature, if we right, are created
-
in His image and in His likeness.
-
This has to do with who he is, how He functions.
-
And this all is a process of growing and developing and
-
yielding along the way to the things of the Holy Spirit in our
-
life, OK. He also said it's about
-
partnership, which we talked about last week.
-
The Holy Spirit's job is we are Corinthians, says Second
-
Corinthians said Co laborers with Christ.
-
We are in partnership also with the Holy Spirit and so we have
-
to be in partnership, meaning we have a responsibility to do
-
something with what the Holy Spirit is speaking to us about.
-
It will not happen without our consent, Without our consent And
-
everything you need as a born again believer is already within
-
you, is already within you. And what you're doing with the
-
help of the Holy Spirit is discovering all of those things
-
about everything in your life, everything in your life.
-
The Holy Spirit knows you better than you know yourself.
-
The Bible says he knows what every hair that is on your head.
-
He knows you and you know what else.
-
You cannot fake him out. You make him fake everybody in
-
this church, You make him manipulate everybody in this
-
church. But you cannot manipulate him.
-
You cannot fake out with him. He knows.
-
He knows everything about you, Alright?
-
And so also he said it's about the Holy Spirit's job is to
-
bring interpretation or revelation.
-
Meaning there's some interpretation that you need of
-
some things concerning the Holy Spirit or the Word of God and
-
the Holy Spirit's there to bring interpretation and revelation.
-
And we talked about this in the past, that nothing that is
-
revealed can be revealed outside of the Spirit.
-
And that's why when we got born again, we got a what, a new
-
spirit put within us, Ezekiel said.
-
He took out, he's gonna take out the old code Stony heart and
-
he's gonna put in a new heart and that new heart now and that
-
new spirit now is pliable, ready and able and willing to do
-
whatever the Lord says to do. And that new man on the inside
-
is even got the word written on it.
-
He said he's gonna write his law on it, so it's already in there,
-
but it will do nothing and produce nothing unless we yield
-
to what it is the Spirit is saying to us concerning His word
-
concerning our situation, whatever it is that's going on
-
in our life, and we're going to see this, that He is there with
-
us every day to guide us and direct us every day in
-
everything that we would ever need in this life of Christ.
-
Period. Period.
-
If you have the Holy Spirit and learn how to be led by Him every
-
day of your life, you cannot fail, and you will produce what
-
it is that He needs you to produce.
-
Amen. But it's up to us to yield.
-
Amen. Hallelujah.
-
It's up to us to yield. I want to read all of our
-
scriptures just where we're getting a lot of this teaching
-
about the Holy Spirit. And I would encourage you
-
because I'm just going to continue to teach on the
-
ministry of the Holy Spirit until we've just exhausted the
-
word, Pastor said. I don't care how long it goes
-
because we need it. We need it.
-
And so John 1416 through 17 says this.
-
I'll ask the father and he will give you another helper that he
-
may be with you forever. Say he's with me forever.
-
The helper, the helper that means whatever you need, you
-
need help. He's there in your time of need.
-
Whatever it is, he is your helper, no matter what it is.
-
He can help you. He can help you figure out you
-
know what's going on with your leaking plumbing.
-
He can help you figure out what's going on with your engine
-
in your car and why it's not starting.
-
He can help you figure out what's going on with your
-
rebellious teenagers if you'll just listen and then not deny
-
that your little baby Angel could be doing that.
-
Don't get me on parenting anyway.
-
There's lots of denial. I deny nothing because I know.
-
Amen. So it says the Spirit of truth,
-
whom the world cannot receive because he does not receive him
-
or know him. But you know him, say I know
-
him. Hallelujah.
-
You need to remind yourself. Now.
-
I know the Holy Spirit. He's living on the inside of me.
-
And whatever I need, he's right there to give me the direction,
-
the help, the guidance, whatever it is, so that I won't fail, so
-
that I won't falter, but I can continue to progress in whatever
-
it is that I need, it says, But you know Him because he abides
-
with you and will be in you. This is only for born again
-
believers, John 1426. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit,
-
when the Whom the Father will send in my name, he will what?
-
He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all
-
things that I have said. So he's gonna remind you of the
-
word. He's gonna remind you of the
-
things that he has already told you.
-
Again, the last time I ministered, I reminded you that
-
the Holy Ghost corrected me about He reminded me about
-
something I had promised him. So not only is it just about,
-
he's going to remind you of what his word has said, he'll remind
-
you of what you have said because he knows what you've
-
said in the recesses of your heart.
-
He knows what you've said, what you haven't said, what you
-
vowed, what you said would never happen again to you and your
-
life, and never let anyone hurt you again like that.
-
He knows all those things and he reminded me because I told you a
-
couple of weeks ago I had two calls about going and doing some
-
women ministry and at one was over in Albania.
-
And I'm like, Lord, I don't want to go and I'm minding my own
-
business and that how he always works, you just minding your own
-
business. And he said, well, I thought you
-
told me you'd go. Wherever I told you to go.
-
You do whatever I would tell you to do.
-
You'd say whatever I told you to say.
-
He reminded me, you know what I had to do at that point?
-
Yield. Yield.
-
Or I could be disobedient. And then what's that gonna bring
-
me? Right?
-
And I And I said, you're right, Lord, you're right.
-
I did say that. Please forgive me.
-
You see that? That's acknowledging the working
-
of the Holy Spirit within your life.
-
And so I wanted to read that out of the amplified.
-
We've said this, and I will ask the Father, and he'll give you
-
another what? Comforter.
-
That's what this word helper means when you break it out.
-
In the Greek, it says helper, right.
-
It means comforter, counselor, intercessor, advocate,
-
strengthener and stand by. This is the working of the Holy
-
Spirit as your helper. Amen.
-
Hallelujah. If you need comfort, guess what?
-
Asking right. If you need counsel, quit
-
running. To everybody else, quit running
-
to all your, you know, Instagram quotes and your Facebook people
-
and your you know all your friends on your 911.
-
I need a help out with a friend. Why don't you go to the helper
-
first who can give you proper counsel and guess where that
-
council's gonna come from? The word of God.
-
He can give you proper help in your time of need.
-
Amen, intercessor, advocate, strengther and stand by and
-
he'll remain with you forever. John 1526, I would encourage you
-
through this whole time that we're gonna be talking about the
-
ministry of the Holy Spirit that y'all read chapters.
-
16. Read 'em and see all the
-
workings of how he's talking about the Holy Spirit.
-
So John 1526 says this. When the Helper comes, whom I'll
-
send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth, who
-
proceeds from the Father. He will testify about me.
-
We talked about the fact that he is the Spirit of Truth.
-
That's why you don't ever have to buy another lie, because you
-
have the Spirit of Truth on the inside of you.
-
Don't buy another lie. This world is full of lies.
-
People will lie straight to your face.
-
You don't have to buy it because the spirit of truth on the
-
inside could let you know they're lying straight to your
-
face. I know you don't want to hear
-
that, but that's the truth. I have the spirit of Truth on
-
the inside. I can do nothing but speak the
-
truth. I don't lie.
-
We should not be liars. And I know believers that a lie
-
straight to your face. That is not the working of the
-
Holy Spirit. You're still listening to the
-
Father of Who is the devil, and he is no longer my Father and
-
has no longer authority in my life.
-
Amen. So I don't speak lies.
-
I only speak truth because the Spirit of truth lives on the
-
inside of me. Amen.
-
And truth hurts a lot of times, but it's good for you.
-
It's good for you. Do you think it didn't hurt me
-
when I heard the Holy Spirit? The first thing he ever talked
-
to me about is that I had hatred in my heart towards my dad.
-
Do you think that truth didn't slam me up against the wall?
-
And think why in the world should I have to ask him to
-
forgive me? He's the one that abandoned his
-
post. He's the one that abandoned his
-
child. He's the one that, and I went
-
down the road. Why should me as a child have to
-
be the responsible one? But you know what I did?
-
I yielded, and I thank God that it was the very first thing that
-
he ever spoke to me to do. Because if I never would have
-
dealt with the very route that the Holy Spirit knew would be my
-
problem for the rest of my life if I didn't deal with that.
-
Because he knows me better than I know myself.
-
That's the working of the Holy Spirit.
-
It's the working of the Holy Spirit, even though I didn't
-
know it at the time. But thank God I yielded, because
-
I wouldn't be where I am today if I had not.
-
He wouldn't be born again today if I had not.
-
That was a whole other story. Some have heard, some have not.
-
But anyway, we've got to move on because I haven't even got to my
-
point tonight. So where were we at 1526?
-
I read it OK16 John 16 seven through 11.
-
I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I
-
go, for if I do not go, the helper will not come.
-
This is Jesus. Remember?
-
We talked about the fact that Jesus himself said it is to your
-
advantage that I go so that the Holy Spirit may come.
-
So who are all these people that believe in Jesus for salvation,
-
but they don't believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit?
-
When he said it's to your advantage, I go so that he can
-
come, right? Because if I do not go away, the
-
helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to
-
you. And he when he comes, what will
-
convict the world concerning sin, righteousness, judgment
-
concerning sin? Because you do not believe in
-
me. And concerning righteousness,
-
because I go to the Father and you no longer see me.
-
And the concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world
-
has been judged. And we've said this, that a lot
-
of people like to talk about how wonderful Jesus is.
-
But the Spirit of God will still convict you of sin today, still
-
convict you of sin today. Thank God He convicts us,
-
because if he don't, that means you've hardened your heart.
-
If you don't say any conviction ever, You know the Holy Spirit
-
convicted me just in simple things.
-
You know, I may be having a conversation with someone that I
-
know that I can have a conversation with that can
-
handle some things, but I may say something that would be not
-
really out of a right heart. And you know what the Holy Ghost
-
has done to me that was not out of a right spirit the way that
-
you said that because it could actually lend to gossip and you
-
need to go ask them to forgive you that you should not have
-
said it that way. That's conviction.
-
It's conviction. I mean, I cannot believe some of
-
the things that I hear that people talk like corrupt
-
communication that comes out of people's mouth, the gossip and
-
the slander and tearing of down of people.
-
And you have no conviction of that.
-
As a believer, I would be concerned because we know he
-
says we should not be gossiping, slandering or having corrupt
-
communication. But yet there's so many
-
believers that are having conversations in that manner
-
with no conviction. I would be concerned about where
-
your heart really is, right? Just saying so John 16 we did,
-
we read that 711 OK 13 through 15, John sixteen 13315, it says.
-
But when he the spirit of truth comes, he's gonna what guide you
-
into all truth. For he will not speak on his own
-
initiative, but whatever he hears, he will speak, and he
-
will disclose to you what is to come.
-
He will glorify me, and he will take of mine, and will disclose
-
it to you. All things that the Father has
-
our mind. Therefore I said that he takes
-
of mine and will disclose it to you.
-
Amen. So we can see through all of
-
these scriptures that he wants to to be our helper.
-
He wants to comfort us. The Holy Spirit teaches us.
-
The Holy Spirit reminds us of things.
-
The Holy Spirit testifies of some things.
-
The Holy Spirit convicts us of some things.
-
The Holy Spirit reveals things to us to come.
-
And you know what? The Holy Spirit will worship
-
with us. That's what he said.
-
He'll glorify me. He'll worship with you in those
-
times that the. Yeah, I I mean, I I just heard
-
because he lives that that's him saying, come on, let me help you
-
in this moment. If you'll just begin to sing
-
this song that came up from the Spirit in that moment because he
-
lives, I can face tomorrow because I didn't want to face
-
tomorrow at that time. But the Holy Ghost knew what I
-
needed and I just began to yield to it and worship him with it.
-
You see that? So let's move to the next thing
-
that I want us to see concerning the inner working of the Holy
-
Spirit is that first and foremost we have to realize that
-
we are a spirit being. We've talked about this that
-
John for for says this, that God is spirit and those who worship
-
him worship him. In what?
-
Spirit and truth? We have to recognize that we are
-
a threefold nature, man or woman, right?
-
We are spirit beings. We have a spirit, right?
-
And this is how we connect with God from spirit to spirit, and
-
the Holy Spirit is the one that's doing all of that
-
communication. Then we have a soul realm, which
-
is our mind, our will, our emotions, our reasonings, our
-
questionings, all of this stuff going on.
-
This is what we call the soul realm, the mind, right?
-
And then we live in this body. We live in this body, and the
-
body is where we see, which we're going to talk about in a
-
little bit, That fleshly desires come from right Where we could
-
be led by our feelings, we could be led by our senses.
-
We could be led by our flesh in this body.
-
So the greatest thing we can do is to build our spirit man up.
-
Allow our spirit man to mature and develop and grow, to produce
-
the characteristics of the fruits of the spirit, to produce
-
the nature of God within our life so that our spirit is
-
strong and will always detonate the flesh.
-
And then our spirit will be so strong that it can also help get
-
our mind, our soul, our mental health, in alignment.
-
This is what all this mental health stuff is.
-
Their minds are out of control. The Holy Spirit, we said, was to
-
be our governor. The Holy Spirit is to be our
-
guide. We were never supposed to be
-
self governed. We talked about this in Genesis.
-
When Adam fell, he became governed by his flesh.
-
He became governed by what he could see.
-
All of these things he started governing himself by covering up
-
and trying to hide from God, because it was the Holy Spirit
-
that was always supposed to be the one that would be governing
-
our lives. OK, so we want our spirit strong
-
so that it can always get into agreement and then we want our
-
minds. The next thing is we know.
-
And I don't have this in my scriptures, but in Galatians or
-
James. I believe it is where he talks
-
about that we are to receive the ingrafted word of God which is
-
able to save our soul. Our spirit is born again once we
-
it is alive unto Christ once we get born again, right?
-
Our spirits alive. Our spirit is in contact with
-
God the minute we get born again.
-
But our mind, our soul, still has to be saved.
-
And how is it saved? It's saved by Romans 12/1.
-
And two, the renewing of our mind to the word of God.
-
So whose responsibility is that? Ours.
-
We have the responsibility to pick up the Word of God and
-
renew our mind. Transform our mind to the Word,
-
and what the Word saying so that our Spirit and our mind can be
-
in alignment so that it will always outnumber the flesh.
-
Your thinking has to get into alignment with what the
-
Scripture says. Your soul round your will has to
-
get submitted to the word of God in everything in every area of
-
your life. As Pastor was saying, you can't
-
have your own thinking in the Kingdom of God.
-
You can't have your own opinions in the Kingdom of God of how you
-
think God should be doing something.
-
And if you do, then that is proving that you're not
-
submitted to his thinking. Your soul, your mind, your will,
-
your emotions, all of these things have to get into
-
alignment with the word of God and it can happen.
-
You can do it, we can do it, period.
-
You can do it. So we have to get realize that
-
we are threefold nature man, and that they we are the temple of
-
the Spirit of God. Look at this scripture in First
-
Corinthians 316. Do you not know that you are the
-
temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
-
You are the temple and if you keep reading on Corinthians,
-
just concerning about being the temple and having the spirit of
-
God living on, he actually talks about do you think you could
-
sleep with a prostitute and he'll not know it because he's
-
right there with you? If he's dwelling on the inside
-
of you, do you think he's not in that bedroom when you're
-
committing adultery? He's right there with you at the
-
board. Again, Believer doing that
-
stuff. The Holy Ghost is right there
-
and we're not yielding. He's right there in the room
-
with you watching pornography. Come on.
-
He's right there in the room with you here in every
-
slanderous thing you're talking about your brother or your
-
sister or the pastors or the whatever.
-
He's right there hearing it. And guess what?
-
We know he's grieved. We talked about that in our
-
earlier lessons. He's grieved.
-
Right. So he's dwelling on the inside
-
of us. We have the Spirit of God
-
dwelling on the inside of us. And I have to go through all of
-
these basic things that may be basic to you.
-
And you've heard before, because we have a whole slew of new
-
people that have never heard these things.
-
And you can sit there and and reject.
-
Come on. And I don't care how long you've
-
been here. And you're in the more dangerous
-
spot, actually, if you haven't kept your life in keeping with
-
yielding to the Spirit of God. So Ephesians 113 through 14 says
-
this in him you also, after listening to the message of
-
truth, the gospel of your salvation, having also believed
-
you were sealed with him. The Holy Spirit of promise, who
-
is given as a pledge of an inheritance, this is part of
-
your inheritance. The seal of the Spirit say I'm
-
sealed. You're sealed with the Spirit of
-
God living on the inside of you. And we must not take for granted
-
and we must not harden ourselves.
-
And we must not not yield to what the Holy Ghost is saying to
-
you on the inside. Because we said we read all the
-
Scriptures where you can reject and deny the Holy Spirit's
-
working in your life. That's what we're saying.
-
He can do nothing for you unless you yield and submit and
-
actually do what it is you're hearing him say to do.
-
And there's so many people that sit and reject the working of
-
the inner man of and the working of the Holy Spirit within us.
-
1st Thessalonians 523 says this. Now may the God of peace Himself
-
sanctify you entirely. He wants you sanctified,
-
entirely holy. That's what that word means.
-
Sanctified, set apart, holy, consecrated before God right
-
entirely, and your that your spirit, your soul, and your body
-
be preserved, complete without blame, at the coming of the
-
Lord. He wants you entirely complete,
-
whole, sanctified, every part of your being, spirit, soul, and
-
body until His return. And we are the ones responsible
-
to keep ourselves up underneath the word of God and yielding to
-
the Spirit of God on the inside of us to do it.
-
I'm going to continue to harp on that because we can sit in these
-
churches, in every church in the United States and hear the word
-
of God and let it be a religious exercise and never once yield to
-
what we're hearing him tell us to do.
-
And this is not growing you, this is not maturing you, this
-
is not equipping you, and you will not stand in the day of the
-
hour. I'm telling you, you won't
-
stand. You won't stand in these last
-
days when you're confronted with some last day things.
-
Because if you can't yield to it now, when it's easy, you won't
-
yield to it then when it gets hard.
-
And not only that, if you're not yielding to it, now every little
-
time is hardening and hardening and hardening and hardening and
-
hardening and hardening, until before long you know what the
-
Holy Spirit will be so grieved that he will not even speak to
-
you anymore, right? He won't speak to you anymore
-
about it. And that wouldn't be a very good
-
place to be, Hebrews 412. For the word of God is living in
-
active and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing far as the
-
division of your soul, your spirit, and both joints and
-
marrow. Which is what?
-
The body and able to judge what the thoughts and the intentions
-
of the heart. So the word of God, through the
-
revelation of the Spirit of God is able to go into all three
-
areas of your life, spirit, soul and body, even down to your
-
thoughts where you know, as I said, the Holy Ghost, you know,
-
convicted me and corrected me. When he's when when you know I
-
was in a conversation with someone and he knew my spirit or
-
my tone in the way that I said that wasn't at the right heart
-
and that I needed to go and ask for forgiveness and say, you
-
know what, I shouldn't have said that that way please forgive me.
-
And they would have said, Oh no, no problem.
-
I didn't take it that way. You may not have taken it that
-
way but I know the Holy Ghost was get you know, I was giving
-
it that way because of the Holy Ghost.
-
You see what I'm saying down to the very intentions of one's
-
heart, your intention. What is your intention in the
-
situations that you're in? What's your intent?
-
Oh, I didn't mean to text them like that.
-
Oh, really? Oh, I didn't mean to say it like
-
that. Oh, really?
-
What was your intention? The Holy Ghost knows, and he's
-
very interested. He's very interested in the very
-
intentions of one's heart, the very thoughts that's going on in
-
your mind. I remember years ago because
-
we've had Kingdom Institute going for years and years and
-
years Now I don't even know how many years and over 10 years,
-
maybe 15. And I was writing the curriculum
-
and teaching one year on Agape Love because that was the class
-
that I've been given and taught for years on Agape Love.
-
And as I was teaching one year and going through all the same
-
scriptures and meditating, getting ready for class, you
-
know, the Holy Ghost spoke to me.
-
And he said, you know what? You've really walked in love
-
with a lot of people through the years.
-
You know, I could get on a little bandwagon right here,
-
because if anybody should be church hurt, I should be
-
everybody. It's always these other all the
-
sheep that talk about church hurt.
-
What about the church hurt that comes to pastors and their
-
families? All right, I'll get off that
-
because I could really go down this road, but I got to make
-
sure my intentions of my heart is really right anyway, you
-
know? So I'm going through this class
-
preparing to get ready to teach on Agape love.
-
And the Holy Ghost said to me, you've done really well at
-
walking in love. You told me that you've done
-
really well at walking in love. You've forgiven people that
-
have, you know, And he reminded me of all the things I've
-
forgiven and let go and could have taken offense to.
-
And everybody thinks y'all are the only ones that can get
-
offended. So anyway, he says.
-
But, and you're doing it, and you've been doing it.
-
But you know what? I want to deal with you now
-
about with walking in love or walking in agape love.
-
I want to deal with your thoughts because you've kept
-
your spirit pure and you've forgiven from the heart.
-
But I want to start dealing with your thoughts now concerning
-
love. What is the intention of your
-
thought when it comes to that person?
-
Is it a thought of believing the best?
-
Is it a thought of agape love? Is it a thought of how I would
-
think about those people? What's he's doing, taking me to
-
another area of my life, now into the soul realm.
-
So this is continual, A continual process of the Holy
-
Spirit working within your life, maturing you, growing you,
-
developing character, developing his nature within you in every
-
area of your life. And don't think he don't deal
-
with the body. What are you eating?
-
You're being a glutton. He talks about these things, but
-
no churches do. What are you doing to your body?
-
This is the temple of the Holy Ghost.
-
How are you taking care of it? Right?
-
All of these things. Is the Holy Spirit developing us
-
and to who God has created us to be as His citizens in the
-
Kingdom of God? As I said, the more morals,
-
behaviors, lifestyles, all of these things have to do with Him
-
wanting to produce within us everything that He sees within
-
you and the best that you can be and who He made you to be from.
-
Everything. Amen.
-
Everything within your life. Let me read a couple of
-
scriptures I totally didn't even get to anywhere I wanted to go.
-
So First Corinthians 617 will it says this.
-
But he who is joined to the Lord is 1 Spirit.
-
With Him we are joined. With Him, we are one Spirit.
-
With Him we are connected and one we know.
-
We're a part of the body. We are one.
-
All of us are one. We are all connected as the body
-
of Christ, but not only as the body of Christ.
-
We are all connected with Him. We are one spirit with Him, and
-
we have to learn that the working of the Spirit of God is
-
always moving in our hearts within us, doing it inner work
-
within us to develop us, to be all in one with Him.
-
It actually means oneness. Oneness with Him to where we
-
are. So one with him.
-
It is naturally just we've we've developed in this oneness with
-
Him and the Holy Spirit working in our life that it's just so
-
naturally to move and yield because we've done it now
-
through this process and this journey with our walk with
-
Christ. Oh, he said this.
-
Yeah, I know. I need to be led right over
-
there. Oh, he said to do this.
-
Yeah, I know. OK, Lord, this is what you're
-
needing me to do. And you're yielding.
-
And and we're growing and walking with him through every
-
season of our life, through everything that he's asking us
-
to do, through everything that we are.
-
A mother, employer, a serve as one that would want to serve in
-
the Kingdom, whatever it is, Every aspect of our life, he
-
wants to be one with us yielded to him so that he can navigate
-
us through our everyday life. Raising our children, being a a
-
mother, being a wife. All of these things.
-
The Holy Spirit can work in you to develop you into the godly
-
woman that fears the Lord, right?
-
The one that is the servant of the Lord.
-
Whatever that call may be, whatever the plans may be for
-
your life, everywhere you go you should be rising to the top.
-
If you have been yielding to and submitting to God through your
-
life, it should just be a continual process and progress
-
with the Lord bringing you into places, new things, developing
-
you to do things that you never thought you would be doing.
-
Amen. Hallelujah.
-
It's an exciting journey, but you have to learn how to yield.
-
Every day, every single day, I'll read the last scripture and
-
we'll get to this. It says this, and I want to read
-
Galatians. I have several scriptures, but I
-
want to go. We'll come back to those next
-
week. Every day, Galatians, we're
-
going to close with just reading several scriptures, Galatians
-
516 through 25. But I say, and I'm going to read
-
out of the Amplified Walk and live habitually in the Holy
-
Spirit, responsive to, controlled and guided by the
-
Spirit. Oh, I'm not controlled by
-
anything. You better want to be controlled
-
by the Holy Spirit, because if you're not controlled by the
-
Holy Spirit, you're controlled by another Spirit or your flesh,
-
it says. Then you will certainly not
-
gratify the cravings and the desires of the flesh of the
-
human nature without God. For the desire of the flesh are
-
opposed to the Holy Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are
-
opposed to the flesh, godless human nature.
-
For these are antagonists to each other, continually
-
withstanding and in conflict with each other, so that you are
-
not free, but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.
-
But if you are guided, say, guided, led by the Holy Spirit,
-
you are not subject to the law. Now the doings and practices of
-
the flesh are clear and obvious. Very clear and obvious.
-
They are immorality and purity and indecency, idolatry,
-
sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, ill temper,
-
selfishness, divisions, dissensions, party spirit,
-
factions, sex with peculiar not sex, but sex.
-
But you know, it did cover sex earlier, with peculiar opinions
-
and heresies. Look at that, he said.
-
Peculiar opinions. Didn't we just talk about that?
-
You can't hold your own opinion in the Kingdom of God.
-
Your peculiar opinion. It says they are in morality,
-
impurity and did I already read all those sorry opinions,
-
Heresies, envy, drunkenness, carousing and light.
-
So there is much more that are like these things that you
-
shouldn't be doing and if you're doing them you're in the flesh.
-
And he says we ought not to be living by the flesh, right?
-
I warn you beforehand, this is Paul warning or the Galatians
-
Church. I warned you beforehand, just as
-
I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit
-
the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is
-
what the work which his presence is within accomplishes.
-
There it is, the inner working of the Spirit of God.
-
The presence of God within accomplishes it.
-
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, Right.
-
Finish it out as I flip the page.
-
Faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
-
Against such things there is no law that can bring a change.
-
And those who belong to Christ the Messiah, what have we done?
-
We are to crucify the flesh, the human nature with its passions
-
and appetites and desires, and we are to live by the Holy
-
Spirit. Let us walk by the Spirit, by If
-
by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward,
-
walking in line, Our conduct being controlled by the Spirit,
-
walking, being led by the Spirit every single day, habitually
-
that is what we are responsible to do, and yielding to the Holy
-
Spirit every day as we walk with Him.
-
And we may not know why He's leading us to go down this road.
-
We may not know why all the time He's asking us to do this one
-
thing or that one thing, but if we'll just listen and obey and
-
yield, you can guarantee you will never fail.
-
You know what, though? You will make mistakes.
-
We will make mistakes as we're learning to navigate.
-
And we'll miss it. We'll we'll look back and think,
-
you know what? That was the Holy Ghost saying
-
that to me. And I should have listened.
-
And if I would have listened, I wouldn't have been dude, this,
-
you know, hardship. Or I wouldn't have had this
-
problem happen. If I would have just yielded and
-
obeyed and listen, because the Holy Spirit will always, always
-
keep you out of a mess if we'll just listen and obey.
-
But we have lots to talk about. Amen.
-
Hallelujah. So what are we gonna do?
-
We're gonna yield. Yeah, say it.
-
Say yield. Yield.
-
Say we're gonna yield. We're gonna yield.
-
We're gonna yield To the Holy Spirit's leading and guiding us
-
every day as we walk with him. Amen.
