  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. Well, if you have your Bible,

  4. start Over Second Timothy chapter 3.

    2 Timothy 3 chapter mention

  5. I haven't done a lot of Wednesday nights because Pastor

  6. Marcy's had us in a series on the Holy Spirit.

  7. Aren't you thankful for that? Again, I thank God for the

  8. teaching gift that Pastor Marcy is.

  9. And she said, look, I really feel like, you know, we've just

  10. got a lot of new people and we really need to take some time

  11. to, you know, minister on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit.

  12. And I said that's fine, go. And so, you know, it frees me up

  13. to be able to do some additional things that are necessary for

  14. the vision on the Wednesdays. Again, thankful to God that I

  15. don't have to do every service. But you know, it seemed right

  16. with us that I would do this Wednesday instead of her since

  17. I'll be out for a couple more and just want to actually come

  18. back and do a leadership lesson. You know, cause when I was doing

  19. them consistently on Wednesdays, we will periodically jump in and

  20. do a leadership lesson because it's important that the times

  21. we're living in believers can take over because there are

  22. principles that we are willing to apply that the world is not.

  23. And it will cause you to thrive and to to be exalted.

  24. Now, when I say that, I don't mean that in a negative sense

  25. because the Bible says he who humbles himself will be exalted.

  26. So it's a byproduct. If you're literally doing God's

  27. word, then he will elevate you so that your influence in the

  28. workplace will grow again. It's not for your glorious

  29. because you keep making him shine.

  30. Right, So again, it will exalt you.

  31. In essence, it will cause you to rise up within the organization

  32. that you work at. Because God wants his people to

  33. be the head and not the tail. To be above and not beneath.

  34. He's the wants them to be the blessed ones.

  35. And so he will cause increase again.

  36. You should be increasing in your life.

  37. If you look back five years or 10 years and you're no better,

  38. you need to be asking yourself, am I not applying the word

  39. properly? Because when you apply the word

  40. properly, you are going to be in different places, period.

  41. Because it's just a product of what God does to those who obey

  42. His Word and want to follow Him with their whole heart, soul,

  43. mind and strength. Amen.

  44. So in Second Timothy, chapter 3, verses one through 7, we've used

    2 Timothy 3 chapter mention

  45. this a few times, but you know, I I think it's a good place for

  46. us to launch out on, it says. But realizing this, that in the

  47. last days difficult times will come.

  48. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful,

  49. arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

  50. unloving, irreconcilable, malicious, gossips without

  51. self-control, brutal haters of good, treacherous.

  52. Reckless, conceited lovers of pleasure, rather than lovers of

  53. God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have

  54. denied His power, Avoid such men as these.

  55. Okay for among them are those who enter into households and

  56. captivate weak women, weighed down with sins, led on by

  57. various impulse, always learning, and never able to come

  58. to the knowledge of truth. So learning does not mean you're

  59. being taught. Okay learning does not mean

  60. you're being taught. And we know in our society.

  61. You know from the political side, okay and it's rampant.

  62. If there's a problem everyone touts, we just need more

  63. education. Well, we are the one of the

  64. most. We have the greatest opportunity

  65. for education than any other nation, and that's male, female,

  66. minority. Doesn't matter.

  67. Everybody has an opportunity to be educated.

  68. And we have so many universities, so many schools,

  69. public schools, right? You know, free education at the

  70. end of the day. And yet we are not a better

  71. nation because of education. So we're always learning, but

  72. we're never being taught. And so, you know, the Bible

  73. tells us that in these last days that there's going to be groups

  74. of people that are going to always be learning.

  75. And in essence, they're going to have title after title after

  76. title, meaning degree after degree after degree, which means

  77. they're going to be what's considered experts yet.

  78. It will be as if they never assimilate to something, Okay.

  79. And so you know, they can't ever come to the knowledge of truth.

  80. And that's problematic because, again, if you're going to as

  81. believers, we are to be led by truth because he's a spirit.

  82. Are you hearing me? And so we don't want to be the

  83. ones that are always learning and not being able to know how

  84. to follow the Holy Ghost. And hear truth and understand

  85. truth and then acquire knowledge.

  86. OK, but the problem is, is that the more you know, the the more

  87. one knows and is recognized for their knowledge.

  88. The risk of pride is present. Now I do a teaching with our

  89. teachers at Washington and, you know, with treasure of a

  90. preschool, it applies a little more with Washington because of

  91. the content that they have to give with our students than it

  92. does with our preschool staff. Because you know, again, they're

  93. basically just teaching them how to figure out colors and numbers

  94. and shapes, right? And and they consider extreme, I

  95. mean, it's preschool education, OK.

  96. But when you get into Washington now, you know you're going on

  97. into higher subjects. And what happens is they become

  98. so inundated with the information that's out there

  99. that you know you can get so much information that you have

  100. knowledge of it, and you can begin to think more highly of

  101. yourself than you ought, you know, because you could be like

  102. you know. A Jeopardy person that knows a

  103. lot of stuff. But that doesn't mean your life

  104. is victorious, right? In fact, the Bible says

  105. knowledge alone puffs up. So the more you know OK, then

  106. the more at risk. You are at pride because you can

  107. rest on your knowledge instead of resting on the Lord and your

  108. purpose and assignment. Now knowledge that we acquire is

  109. to help our assignment. Okay.

  110. It's not so that we can impress people with how much we know.

  111. Okay, because again, what gives knowledge If you emotionally

  112. fall apart when the trial comes, are you hearing me?

  113. You know, I don't care if you know calculus, because if you

  114. fall apart the minute you know a bill you know goes and you can't

  115. seem to pay it, what's the what's the issue?

  116. This is simple arithmetic at this point, and you're

  117. emotionally falling apart because you can't figure out how

  118. you're going to pay that. OK, so you know, we have to put

  119. ourselves in a different perspective now.

  120. How many? You're doing your Bible reading,

  121. playing with us? All right.

  122. You know, we just read John Chapter 9.

    John 9 chapter mention

  123. This is a great context where we're talking about remaining

  124. teachable. OK, And so obviously Jesus

  125. passed by and there was a blind man from birth.

  126. Correct. He heals the guy by, you know,

  127. telling him he sped on the ground, put some clay in his

  128. eyes, and he told him to go wash it in the pool of Salome.

  129. And then obviously once he came back, he could see right?

  130. Well, he does this on the Sabbath.

  131. So all the experts, the educated, the ones that had all

  132. the knowledge are miffed. They are upset.

  133. In fact, they are accusing Jesus as being a Sinner because he has

  134. to be a Sinner since he has done this on the Sabbath.

  135. Disregard. The guy has never seen a day in

  136. his life. OK, don't worry about the

  137. miracle we we're we're too hung up in our tradition and and our

  138. knowledge and who we are and and and what we've accomplished, OK?

  139. And because they've not healed anybody, ever, of being blind,

  140. you know they've got issues. This is a thing.

  141. This is the problem with education alone.

  142. You'll put your trust and information in your head, but

  143. you actually have no experience. But you can acquire a lot of

  144. knowledge about things but not actually have the experience of

  145. the things you're talking about. You understand you can give a

  146. class on how to run a business and never ran one and tell

  147. everybody how to run one until something falls apart in

  148. business like supply chain or something like that.

  149. And then you got issues going on.

  150. You got all the emotional strain that's going to help meet

  151. customers and stuff. But you know, they don't have

  152. that issue, They just get to teach it.

  153. OK. And so these guys here obviously

  154. are really aggravated about it because they want to look better

  155. than Jesus. They're really upset that he's

  156. created such a crowd and he has such authority.

  157. And so, you know, they won't even believe the guys actually

  158. was was blind from birth. So they have to pull the parents

  159. in, right? I mean, this is how skeptical

  160. they are. Can't.

  161. I mean, can't you just imagine the arrogance that's happening

  162. in this conversation? OK.

  163. That's happening at this particular point in time.

  164. You know, you know, cuz he says man, you know who he is?

  165. He well his name was, Gee, he's a prophet.

  166. And they are just utterly beside themselves over the statements

  167. this guy's making concerning Jesus.

  168. So they pull the parents in, as you know, in this 9th chapter

  169. and they're like obviously concerned about the Jews and you

  170. know how they're going to attack their family.

  171. So they're like, look, he's old enough, ask him yourself.

  172. So they're like, tell us, tell us how you got healed, he said.

  173. I already told you're not listening.

  174. This is the problem. When people are not teachable,

  175. they don't want to hear anything that doesn't fit their

  176. narrative. This is the problem that all of

  177. a sudden when people don't want to get, you know, understanding,

  178. you know, they have their thing where they're at.

  179. And they're, if it's not the way I look at it, only now, again,

  180. I'm not saying if you're rooted in Christ, in his word.

  181. Cause you got to be conscious about this fact is that if you

  182. know that you know the word says this, then that's one thing

  183. you're standing on. But we're talking about people

  184. who just has knowledge and opinions, OK?

  185. It's their interpretation because this guy has obviously

  186. had a miracle happen in his life, and instead of them

  187. rejoicing and wanting to find out who, how and what, they're

  188. disregarding it because it doesn't fit their narrative.

  189. It's attacking their authority. Because the Pharisees know a

  190. king is coming, and you understand the Pharisees would

  191. have accepted Jesus if he would have bowed to him, If he would

  192. have bowed to them. OK, because again, it's easy to

  193. be a king as long as the king gets still submitted to someone

  194. else, because people will accept kingship as long as you're

  195. actually bound. To me.

  196. But out front, it looks like this was the issue with Jezebel.

  197. Well, you can be king, but at the end of the day, you're gonna

  198. do what I say. Right.

  199. And she checked him on more than one occasion and said, I thought

  200. you were king. I'll take care of this for you,

  201. OK? So at the end of the day, we

  202. know. That there's this huge argument

  203. that kind of takes place, you know, amongst them concerning

  204. him. And what I find interesting is

  205. that starting around, let's say 31, it says let's do a 30.

  206. And the man answered and said to him, well, here is an amazing

  207. thing, let's go back up further. Let's go to 27.

  208. And he answered them. I told you already, you did not

  209. listen. Why do you want to hear it

  210. again? You do not want to become his

  211. disciples to do you. And they are upset about that.

  212. They say you are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

  213. So again you know their university is better than his

  214. university. We know that God has spoken to

  215. Moses, but As for this man, we do not know where he's from.

  216. And the man answer and said to him, well, here's an amazing

  217. thing, you do not do not know where he's from yet.

  218. He opened my eyes. He says we know that God does

  219. not hear sinners. But if anyone is God fearing and

  220. does as well, he hears him. Since the beginning of time, he

  221. has never been heard. That anyone open the eyes of a

  222. person born blonde, verse 33, if this man were not of God, he

  223. could do nothing and they answered him said you were born

  224. entirely incense and you are teaching us, so they put him

  225. out. The problem is, is when we

  226. decide we're not going to be teachable anymore, then we're

  227. not going to be willing to listen to anybody.

  228. When you're teachable, though, you'll learn from anyone or any

  229. experience that actually reveals God's Kingdom and righteousness.

  230. So testimonies that are actually demonstrating God's Kingdom

  231. you'll want to learn from. But if you want to be the one

  232. that the miracles work through, or that everybody looks at, then

  233. you will disregard them. We've got to watch out that we

  234. don't want to become people that we acquire.

  235. Because again we say this in Kingdom Institute students is

  236. that our second year students are our most dangerous students.

  237. It's because they've developed some knowledge through first

  238. year. We're coming into second year.

  239. If you don't watch out, you can get prideful about what you

  240. know. We found this out with Rayma

  241. graduates, Rayma graduates. And it's not just here, It's any

  242. church. The risk when a pastor sends

  243. someone to go to Rayma that they graduated from Rayma, that that

  244. individual when they come back, acts like they know everything

  245. the pastor knows now. Well, you do know cause you were

  246. in the same classes and you were taught the same thing, but that

  247. doesn't mean you have the gift that we have, right?

  248. And again, if you're not called to be the overseer of the church

  249. that sent you and you're coming back to help.

  250. Well, now you can't presume that you would know how it's done

  251. because you don't have that actually anointing.

  252. And if you actually learn something, Raymond, you know

  253. that you should actually be submitting instead of acting

  254. like you're you could do it better than them.

  255. Because again, if you're called to actually lead a ministry,

  256. then leave and go do it, because I'm amazed at how many won't go

  257. and do it, but they'll want to critique the one who actually

  258. left and did it. And this is what happens.

  259. Same thing happens. You know what jobs you know as

  260. well as I do? Someone you know.

  261. You're training them in a particular field.

  262. Then they go and get some classes.

  263. They come at. Now I they know as much as you.

  264. Well, they may know as much as you.

  265. But the question is, is can you still teach them something and

  266. would they be willing to learn it if you learned it?

  267. Because I don't mind learning from anyone.

  268. Some of my greatest teachings that I received is from hearing

  269. other people. In fact, I've got a great

  270. message that I that I received and I say message I'm just

  271. saying a statement that a pastor Josh that we went to Alabama,

  272. he's 23 years old, 2323 years old and he made a statement

  273. about worship and his generation.

  274. And man, it was. I said, man, I am preaching that

  275. now. He just gave a statement, but I

  276. know there's a whole message there and I took notes.

  277. I said I am preaching that. I am preaching that I did not

  278. let my 30 years older experience and ministry that is 10 times

  279. the size and scope. Hinder me from receiving a word

  280. from that. That man, I'm like, bro, that's

  281. good. I have never saw that angle from

  282. there. I am preaching that.

  283. I asked if I could preach it tonight, but the Lord won't let

  284. me. So it's coming.

  285. I say it's coming. It's good.

  286. Oh my gosh, it's good. But you got to have a heart to

  287. hear. And I'm amazed at how fast

  288. people just disregard things. You know, the biggest challenge

  289. in all churches is what is the words.

  290. I'm saying having to filter through you because there are

  291. many things that can hinder us from being teachable.

  292. The first one, obviously, would be an offense.

  293. If you're in offense, you're going to not be taught because

  294. you're offended with anything that begins to challenge the way

  295. you're positioning yourself. That's going to be an issue.

  296. Unforgiveness will be another one.

  297. Hardening your heart that's going to be another one.

  298. So there are multiple things that can take place and some are

  299. just perceptions. What some people perceive my

  300. wife is always, you know, saying when they take pictures.

  301. Man, you look you look mad. I said I can't do nothing about

  302. my forehead. You know, I mean I'm.

  303. I'm trying to smile even now here I am.

  304. But you know when I'm because for me and I had to tell our

  305. staff this at times if I'm thinking.

  306. And I'm really like intent trying to hear.

  307. I'm like in thought, like in my inner man, I look like this.

  308. I mean, I do. I'm like, what's what's he

  309. saying? Because I'm like trying to hear

  310. in my spirit. But if I'm walking down the

  311. hallway and I'm like, in this conversation with God, I'm

  312. trying to get something. Well, you know, pastor, why you

  313. mad? Not mad.

  314. This is not mad. This is thinking.

  315. I'm just thinking, I mean, I can't help.

  316. That's the way my I I can't think like this.

  317. I mean, it does. It's not natural, you know, I

  318. mean, I would have to start taping my eyebrows up, you know,

  319. when we're here, ministry, you know, and tape here.

  320. So I just always smile. Some people just have that, you

  321. know, But me, you know, when I start getting something out of

  322. the work, you know, you just start getting like here we go.

  323. And you know, it doesn't always translate well on film.

  324. Right. You look like you're being

  325. upset. And then when you get really

  326. passionate, you yell you about something, like, come on, you

  327. know, that's like, wow. Then they catch that picture and

  328. you're like, OK, just be in service.

  329. It's going to be fun. The point is, is that if you

  330. don't watch out, people starting to do things based upon outward

  331. judgment, and then we start to hinder ourselves.

  332. You know, when I get in a room, I don't care where it's at.

  333. I'm always like there's something I could learn here.

  334. And if it's here, I'm going to get mine.

  335. I've always developed my relationships this way.

  336. I'm going to get mine. Mean it, Whatever there is to

  337. learn, I'm going to receive it. Now, I may be in the room and

  338. could give out all kinds of stuff, but at the end of the

  339. day, if they don't want to receive what I have, that's

  340. fine. I'm going to receive because I

  341. will remain teachable. I want to grow.

  342. This is why every Vision partner I say I'll be a better pastor in

  343. five years. Because I'm learning, I'm

  344. growing. That doesn't imply that I'm a

  345. bad one today. We're progressing.

  346. You know, I learn more, You know, I can apply the fruits

  347. faster. You know, there's just more

  348. revelation, knowledge. My IT continues to expand me in

  349. my capacity to be able to do things.

  350. Amen. So you're always learning.

  351. You're always growing. You're always you know,

  352. listening and and and I'm sensitive enough by the Holy

  353. Ghost to recognize when I'm in a room and conversations happening

  354. and things are starting to happen and it's coming from me.

  355. I'm like man, I'm hearing the Holy Ghost about how to handle

  356. these situations cause in the natural, I'm not trained to

  357. think that way. OK, but it comes because you're

  358. always trying to learn. OK, so you want to be teachable?

  359. OK. Second Timothy chapter 3, verse

    2 Timothy 3:16

  360. 16 and 17 says this. All scripture is inspired by God

  361. and profitable for teaching. For proof for correction.

  362. For training and righteousness, so that the man of God may be

  363. adequate equipped for every good work.

  364. The passion says it this way. Every Scripture has been written

  365. by the Holy Spirit and breathe, breath, and the breath of God.

  366. It will empower you by its instruction and correction,

  367. giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you

  368. deeper into the path of godliness.

  369. Then you will be God's servant, fully mature, and perfectly

  370. prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.

  371. So you have to then recognize what are some ways to be taught

  372. and to remain teachable. Because at the end of the day,

  373. we are supposed to be enlisted as pupils.

  374. We're always growing. I mean, the more I do learn

  375. about God, I immediately equally know how much I don't know.

  376. So it doesn't matter how much I know.

  377. And I could get into certain places because the revelation I

  378. have is different than the revelation others have.

  379. And again, anything that I have is because God revealed that to

  380. me. It's not because I figure that

  381. out on my own. I have enough wisdom to be able

  382. to have the mind of Daniel and Daniel when he stood before,

  383. Nebuchadnesser says. First of all, I just want to

  384. tell you I do not have an intelligence more than anyone

  385. else. So the reason this

  386. interpretation is going down is not because although I am 10

  387. times smarter than everybody based upon the test that got me

  388. here in the 1st place, because he did have that, he's letting

  389. them know. In this case, no amount of

  390. studying would be able to give this kind of information.

  391. Can't happen. So what I'm about to say,

  392. there's no way a natural person could have ever come to this

  393. conclusion, Could have studied it, period.

  394. So as far as education is concerned and natural knowledge,

  395. everybody in the room's the same.

  396. You just need to know that. But there is a God, and I have

  397. talked to him, and so here's your dream, right?

  398. Are you hearing me? So at the end of the day, we

  399. always have to have this acknowledgement that God is the

  400. one who gave us revelation. But Paul himself says that we

  401. are to live to the place we have attained.

  402. OK, so I'll give you a case of point again.

  403. I was raised in a denominational church.

  404. It was the Southern Baptist Church.

  405. And you know what truth they taught?

  406. They taught you must be born again, that you are Sinner, that

  407. you were going to be eternally separated from God, that Jesus

  408. paid the price for your sin, and that if you call on his name

  409. that he will save you, if you make him Lord of your life,

  410. you'll be born again. And that's the truth now.

  411. That's the only thing I learned there.

  412. And if I never left that church, it may still be the only thing

  413. that I would know. But I went to an assembly God

  414. church. And at the assembly God church.

  415. They taught me about the baptism, the Holy Ghost,

  416. whatever, speaking the tongues. You know what I did not abandon,

  417. I did not abandon. You must be born again.

  418. That truth's carried with me. So then I got filled with the

  419. Holy Ghost. Power came upon me.

  420. I received the language of the Kingdom.

  421. I speak an unknown tongue and I have power and man, It's way

  422. better. But that's all I learned at that

  423. church. Even though that pastor

  424. graduated from Rayma so I was full of the Holy Ghost could

  425. preach a powerful salvation message because I was raised in

  426. the Baptist Church, but I was not really competent at getting

  427. people baptizing. The Holy Ghost didn't even

  428. minister on it because it wasn't in.

  429. I received enough revelation to walk in it but to teach it whole

  430. nother ball game. Then when I went to Rama, I

  431. found out all kinds of subjects, all kind of trees were

  432. available. But I didn't abandoned.

  433. You must be born again. I didn't abandon yet you.

  434. I was baptized The Holy Ghost. Whatever.

  435. Speaking of tongues, now there's healing.

  436. Now there's faith for everything.

  437. Now there's the authority of the believer.

  438. Now there's prosperity. And you're learning all these

  439. things. Well, guess what I've acquired?

  440. I could never go back to the Southern Baptist Church because

  441. I've attained somewhere, not because I'm smart.

  442. It's because the spirit of God revealed those truths that now I

  443. walk in, nobody would ever be able to come to me and tell me

  444. tongues are of the devil. I would laugh.

  445. No one could come and tell me that healing passed away with

  446. the last. I would laugh because I know

  447. it's a lie. I'm walking in the light of that

  448. truth. So Paul says you have to live to

  449. where you attain to, and if we do not, we can slip back.

  450. I said we can slip because the Bible is very clear, even what

  451. you have. If you're not exercising the

  452. revelation you have, then even what you have can be taken away.

  453. So you never want to compromise your revelation.

  454. I said you never want to compromise your revelation.

  455. Now revelation will only be knowledge if not mixed with

  456. faith. Are you hearing me?

  457. Revelation will always will only be knowledge if not mixed with

  458. faith because we are to live by faith.

  459. I am actively living in faith-based upon all the

  460. revelation that I have. So again, when I step out in a

  461. particular area, if if it's requiring the believers

  462. authority, well like the storm, I mean I'm asking the Lord now,

  463. Lord, I know we can speak to storms.

  464. What about Franklin? And what about?

  465. What was her name? That one?

  466. OK, Edalia, So what do you want us to say?

  467. Where? What are we speaking?

  468. What conversations are we having?

  469. But I'm now having an exercise revelation.

  470. I can't doubt that I have authority in the earth

  471. concerning winds and waves because Jesus said the works

  472. that I do in greater works will you do so There's some

  473. conversation that can take place.

  474. I would love to be able to get to that place of revelation that

  475. I could stop storms from ever going to anyone's house.

  476. But I don't know if you can do that because there are places

  477. that pull death to them. The wages of sin is, which means

  478. you pull things that can create separations in your life.

  479. I mean, it just happens. Whole communities are built on

  480. policies and and act and governing.

  481. That is against God, and you don't think it's gonna pull

  482. things to you. So you might be able to protect

  483. your own personal self in the community.

  484. You understand the community can get so bad that God won't even

  485. let you protect the community, but only yourself, because this

  486. is what he told Jeremiah, he said.

  487. Jeremiah, you and my covenant community called Israel.

  488. I know you're there, and I know you're gonna be speaking things

  489. about repentance to them, but they're not gonna do it now.

  490. I'm just going to let you know. Don't intercede for him because

  491. I'm telling you, we have come to the point that the wrath is

  492. coming and you're warning them and you're telling them to

  493. repent. But I know they're not, because

  494. it just allows me as the prosecuting attorney, to be able

  495. to bring the case before the father so that the thing's going

  496. to happen. Like it's going to happen.

  497. Are you hearing me? He said.

  498. Cuz I'm gonna tell you right now, I don't care if Daniel was

  499. there, I don't care if Moses was there, and I don't care if one

  500. other person, I think he mentioned maybe it was Elijah.

  501. If they were, they could not save this community.

  502. They would only be able to save themselves.

  503. Are you hearing me? So you have to be able.

  504. That's why I love the Bible so much.

  505. It's amazing how many people pick and choose.

  506. That's why. Like, well, Pastor Earl, if

  507. you're Speaking of storm then, and you got that throw, why

  508. don't you just tell it to be quiet and be still like the Lord

  509. did? Well, there's other factors.

  510. Some prophet showed up and was able to stand in the gap and

  511. keep the community from having issues.

  512. But there's other times that that's not the case.

  513. So once again, you have to hear God.

  514. That's the problem with people who only want to have knowledge

  515. without revelation. They'll go to the book, see

  516. something, and then try to immolate it, imitate it without

  517. actually having revelation. That's what the seven sons of

  518. Skiva did. They wanted to imitate it

  519. without actually having a revelation of it.

  520. And so they try something and you're not.

  521. You're trying something. I don't try anything.

  522. I ask the Lord. Then I'm firmly persuaded and I

  523. stand in faith on it. And that's what God's constantly

  524. wanting us to learn and be taught in.

  525. But in order to do that, we have to be constant studiers of the

  526. Word, and we have to always be learning and realize we've got

  527. to keep learning. I've been around quite a few

  528. pastors that are preaching messages that are 1520 thirty

  529. years old and they are informational because they're

  530. not actually doing them. We should be having real time

  531. testimonies, not back here. Now we can talk about it back

  532. here as long as we're still having some right here because

  533. the back here is just keeping reinforcing the things that are

  534. happening right here. So you got to look at your life

  535. and say you know, am I progressing?

  536. So what are some ways to be taught?

  537. Well, the first thing is this. Again, you're wanting to remain

  538. teachable so that wherever you're at, you can expand.

  539. You can be used more. Because if you'll remain

  540. teachable in whatever place God has played, whatever sector of

  541. society God's placed you in, he will cause you to rise to the

  542. top. But you've got to be able to

  543. keep it a spirit of humility to be taught.

  544. And you don't care who's in the room, whether it's someone

  545. younger or whether it's someone older.

  546. Wherever it comes you'll learn. Amen.

  547. Number one, you wanna a way that to be taught is by studying the

  548. scriptures personally. Now again when I say that, it

  549. will help you even in the workplace because as you study

  550. the scriptures personally then it allows you to hear and know

  551. the voice of God. So when the Holy Spirit then

  552. gives you an idea at work, you will know that was of God.

  553. So you second Timothy 215 says, study to show yourself approved

  554. unto God of workmen that need, if not be ashamed, rightly

  555. dividing the word of truth. So again, you can expect to

  556. remain teachable if you quit studying the word because who we

  557. are is is the word of God, and it will always carry over into

  558. the natural. Because if you'll seek God

  559. first, then anything that naturally needs a breakthrough,

  560. God can get it through you because you're spiritually

  561. sensitive to him and his waves. I'm sure if we took the time to

  562. actually look at some people in the earth who has some

  563. discoveries, you might find that they had a personal relationship

  564. with the Lord and God unlock their minds concerning some

  565. things that previously was not there.

  566. Are you hearing what I'm saying? I do know if you will do this

  567. yourself, you will open that door.

  568. Amen. So a way to be taught is by

  569. studying the scriptures personally. #2 Another way to be

  570. taught is by studying the scriptures from instruction.

  571. Look what it says in Hebrews 1317.

  572. Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over

  573. your souls as those who will give an account.

  574. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would

  575. be this would be unprofitable for you.

  576. So another way that you can be taught is by watching someone or

  577. someone's going to give you instruction.

  578. You can learn personally by studying all by yourself.

  579. The Holy Ghost is going to reveal things, but then someone

  580. can give you instructions by which the Holy Ghost will reveal

  581. what they are saying is truth. And then you can take it for

  582. yourself. Hey, man.

  583. Meaning you can get a direction that you never would have got by

  584. yourself because God gave you the direction through someone

  585. else. Just like Pastor Joshua in

  586. Moundsville, Georgia, He had a direction.

  587. Moundville. Sorry, Moundville AL.

  588. You're right, Moundville AL, They all run together up there.

  589. It's all red clay. But in Moundville, 23 years old,

  590. had a perspective of worship. Then I'm like, man, never saw it

  591. that way. And it's simple.

  592. It's not like, like super profound, but it definitely can

  593. help the process when you see just that little nugget.

  594. Like, man, come on, are you serious?

  595. Are you serious? OK, but you have to hear the

  596. instruction. Then it comes alive in your own

  597. spirit, and now you can take it as your own again.

  598. You know, Pastor Joshua Pennington got a lot of

  599. Joshua's. He had the conversation with his

  600. wife about doing something with the women's ministry.

  601. I think it was or or school. I can't remember now.

  602. But he told her he wanted her to do something.

  603. She said, look, I don't think I have enough experience to do

  604. that. And out of that, the spirit of

  605. God said it may be beyond your experience, but it's not beyond

  606. your capacity. Now that resonated with me.

  607. So much so that God gave me a message out of that.

  608. Two of them, actually. Since then, he heard has heard

  609. that message. He was there at Camping and he

  610. goes, man, you got way more out of that than the statement I

  611. had, right? But because I was willing to

  612. learn and remain teachable again, he's 10 years younger

  613. than I am. Are you hearing me?

  614. There are things you could just say, well, we're you could make

  615. all kind of excuses why you won't listen instead of just

  616. saying, you know what, at any moment at anyone's mouth, I

  617. could learn something I can learn from an enemy, Yeah, I can

  618. learn from enemy. I can learn, you know, from

  619. friends what not to do. I mean, I learned from Pastor

  620. David EMA some things not to do based upon the way his

  621. organization was like, well, not sure I would do that, but he can

  622. do it. Whatever you're doing, that's

  623. your organization. I have.

  624. I'm just here to submit. But man, when I get over here,

  625. not sure that's going to happen. It.

  626. And you know what I learned from him?

  627. That's what I learned from him. Don't assume your staff's

  628. reading the Bible because he never asked me.

  629. Are you reading the Bible? Never.

  630. He assumed it. And I thought, I don't like this

  631. assumption because I know too many people can just pull stuff

  632. from anywhere and aren't actually reading the Bible.

  633. And it's an it is an epidemic among pastors, an epidemic of

  634. not having personal studies but going online and pulling things

  635. from other people and basically regurgitating knowledge with

  636. charisma. Alright, that doesn't mean

  637. anointing. Running, shouting and screaming

  638. is not an anointing. And there are some cultures

  639. that, if you're not popping a vein, they don't think the Holy

  640. Ghost is there. Yet I could have some people

  641. stand behind this pulpit, not break a sweat, and have more

  642. anointing than someone running around and screaming.

  643. Now they'll have everybody an emotional frenzy.

  644. But again, what do we do? We don't remain teachable when

  645. we only like certain styles, just like we don't remain

  646. teachable. We only like certain music.

  647. I can worship any style now. I may not like every style.

  648. You know, Pastor Marcy sends songs to Pastor Marcus.

  649. I send songs to Pastor Marcus. They are on two different

  650. spectrums. I mean, you really don't want to

  651. know what I like anyway. People be that pastor likes that

  652. kind of music. I like that kind of music.

  653. I like that sound. But at the end of the day, you

  654. know, it is what it is. I mean, I like to get a little

  655. more, you know, soul power up in here, but I just got to find

  656. somebody with a voice. So we still hadn't done it

  657. because I got a bass player and a drummer who's playing it.

  658. We just hadn't been able to get the rest of the team on board.

  659. The problem is, is that people can assume because we have a

  660. whole team, we don't need you. That would be a lie.

  661. We do not have gospel, and Pastor Marcus does his best job

  662. as he can, but at the end of the day, we are not gospel now.

  663. We're not here to be gospel to Showboat either.

  664. I'll just throw that out. But there's some songs, man, I

  665. just wish we could pull off. And they're just not being some

  666. because we do not have the personnel that has that voice.

  667. Or if we do, you're holding out and you need to get with Pastor

  668. Marcus and get with the program so we can get on.

  669. And if you're playing in Oregon, you've been in rebellion long

  670. enough. That's all I'm saying.

  671. If you are an Oregon player and you're thinking, well we don't

  672. have one, you are not operating in faith, you should already

  673. believe God for that thing. Got that one.

  674. You know of two or three churches that have them and

  675. they're not using them and you can get them donated to us and

  676. you can get up here and let's go.

  677. And then I'll get a triple anointing.

  678. But I get a double anointing with a headset.

  679. I get a triple anointing with a with a a anointed organ player.

  680. Not just anyone trying to get your emotions up alright, but

  681. music does have power OK if done properly.

  682. So we can learn by studying scriptures personally #2 We can

  683. learn or remain teachable by studying scriptures from

  684. instruction. And again it says obey your

  685. leaders. I probably am at some point

  686. going to take on all the social media heretics Okay.

  687. There's probably going to come a day that that God's going to

  688. release me to come and minister on all the heretics that are out

  689. on social media. Okay, because there's a lot of

  690. stuff out on social media that is so utterly, absolutely.

  691. It is doctrines of demons so bad on steroids.

  692. And the problem is so many people get their little one

  693. liner. You let them run through their

  694. little 10 two-minute clip because everything sounds right

  695. until somebody proves them wrong.

  696. Okay. And again, you know, everyone

  697. here's, here's what I know when people aren't going to be

  698. teachable is that when you want to take a position and then you

  699. only want to find scripture to support your position, this is

  700. not God's. I said this is not God's.

  701. And you can always find when it said their position, because

  702. what they're saying actually doesn't line up with scripture

  703. all the way across the board. They avoid scriptures.

  704. OK, I'm not gonna do it today, But you know, I'm like because I

  705. know everybody's flipping through.

  706. I know you are. And let me just tell you

  707. something. You keep stopping on it,

  708. listening to it. Then you're going to find

  709. yourself in a place where you're going to go.

  710. And I don't mind. I have no problem with

  711. somebody's thought process. Because here's the thing about

  712. truth. Truth will only get stronger and

  713. lies will fall apart. This is what's so awesome by the

  714. Holy Ghost is that you know, if you really are led by the Holy

  715. Ghost, you can't go off. You actually can't get wrong.

  716. Now, that's if you're led by the Holy Ghost.

  717. Remember, the Holy Ghost and the Word are inseparable.

  718. So Holy Ghost doesn't say something different than the

  719. Word. All right.

  720. OK, so with that being said, we'll have that sermon later,

  721. maybe a series, and we'll just deal with it.

  722. That doesn't mean I'm going to bring them up here and let you

  723. see who's saying stuff. I'm not going to do that.

  724. But I'll just say it's being said and then I'll show you why

  725. that's error, OK? Because it's not like Paul

  726. didn't have to address error, error, error in the church.

  727. Hallelujah. Again, I would love for people

  728. to sit down with me if I was really in error because I would

  729. get correct. I would take the correction.

  730. No problem. Hallelujah.

  731. I have one particular individual that struggle with the subject

  732. of divorce. I'm like, okay.

  733. Well, let's go to Scripture, you know.

  734. So we start going to Scripture, you know, and they go to all the

  735. ones about, you know, don't get a divorce.

  736. All the stuff that supports, don't get in a divorce.

  737. God hates divorce. Got it?

  738. OK, no problem. But let's talk about Deuteronomy

  739. 24. Well, now they're struggling.

  740. Amen. Then we get them over to

  741. Jeremiah. God divorces Israel.

  742. Now we really haven't heart, heart palpitations because we're

  743. trying to figure out how to explain that one.

  744. Amen. But I realized they just didn't

  745. want to know. So the OR so they'll never know

  746. this. So they know my love.

  747. So just always next time you meet, just talk about the talk

  748. about my love. So I started talking about love.

  749. They didn't want to talk to me about love.

  750. Well, if you don't know love, then you'll never understand the

  751. subject. Amen.

  752. Because some of our answers are not in the subject we're

  753. studying. It's in a different subject that

  754. we don't have our understanding of.

  755. And you got to remain teachable about those things.

  756. Amen. Because believe you me, I've

  757. gone through the seasons where I'm questioning everything I

  758. even know. Not that I don't know it, but

  759. it's like I'll question it so that I'm stronger.

  760. It's either going to be what I truly believe or it'll be a

  761. fallacy. And if there's any tradition in

  762. what I believe, I want it rooted out.

  763. And all of us have some form of tradition somewhere.

  764. Either we brought it in from another church, we brought it in

  765. from some relative that was saying something, or we brought

  766. it in because we have some selfish ambition still and we're

  767. trying to make it fit how we're living.

  768. But the word will root it out. Amen.

  769. If things become more clear, just like we took the time at

  770. the beginning of the year to talk about love and what is not

  771. and what everybody else is saying, it is and there's no way

  772. it can be Hallelujah. But yet we've all said it and

  773. then you realize, you know what? Can't say that anymore.

  774. That's just not true. Love Actually meets every

  775. condition. Praise the Lord, and that's more

  776. powerful. But people want to hold to the

  777. other one so bad that they won't be taught.

  778. And there's fallacies in it. It actually falls apart the more

  779. you go out. Go after it.

  780. Amen #3A Way of being taught because you want to remain

  781. teachable is by demonstrations of scriptures or we call them

  782. experiences. John chapter 10, starting in

    John 10 chapter mention

  783. verse 25 to 24 and 25, says this.

  784. And the Jews then gathered around him, and we're saying to

  785. him, How long will you keep us in suspense?

  786. If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.

  787. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you do not believe the works

  788. that I do in my father's name. These testify of me.

  789. Jump down to verse 37. If I do not do the works of my

  790. father, do not believe me. But if I do them, though you do

  791. not believe me, Believe the works, so that you may know and

  792. understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

  793. Hallelujah. So we could study the scriptures

  794. personally. It helps us to remain teachable.

  795. We can learn by instructions because again, God placed in the

  796. body the fivefold ministry for the equipping of the Saints.

  797. So they already give instruction by revelation of the Spirit,

  798. which then means you'll sit and sit in a service, or sit in a

  799. class or sit in a conversation and all of a sudden revelation

  800. to come on. Amen.

  801. Then you're like, wow, Because God's revealing, through the

  802. instruction of that person, that five full minister, that leader,

  803. that overseer, the one who's watching over your soul, that

  804. the Holy Spirit makes you that. And Jesus purchased with his

  805. blood, the church that he's made you an overseer of.

  806. OK. But then there's the side where

  807. you're seeing it because you're watching someone actually get

  808. what they're saying. It's manifesting.

  809. They're believing for healing, and they're healed.

  810. They're believing in some realm of additional provision for

  811. something God's called them to do, and it comes to pass.

  812. Are you hearing me? You you see them walk through

  813. the trial and they get the victory on the other side.

  814. And you're like then when you know that God's not a respecter

  815. of person, then you're like, well, praise God.

  816. You've given me that example. I realized about two years in to

  817. us believing God for the mall that it was became very aware to

  818. me that I am not just believing this for the sake of Anchor Bay

  819. Church anymore. We have to see this done for the

  820. all the other ministers that are going to find out if we did it

  821. because it's going to inspire them.

  822. In fact, I just got a text from a pastor in in Washington, the

  823. state of Washington, and he showed took a picture of his

  824. phone. He said you called me last year

  825. On this date and left me a message something about

  826. acquiring land. Are you hearing me?

  827. And so he's acquired the land and now he's, you know, putting

  828. together his presentation or what he wants to build so that

  829. then, you know, they can go and start raising money.

  830. But he's going back to that moment in time, you know, and I

  831. know that moment is a direct connection because that was

  832. 2022. That's a year after we acquired

  833. them all that we were able to say because God did it here, got

  834. to do it there. He's not a respecter.

  835. So he has real time. He's not talking to a pastor

  836. that's been in ministry for 40 years and talking about a 40

  837. year faith project that I mean that happened 40 years ago and

  838. they got a victory. We're talking about right now

  839. that what seemed impossible, we pulled off by the word of God,

  840. by our faith, we got the victory.

  841. And so you understand your faith battles are not just for you

  842. because someone needs to know that you stood on the word.

  843. You studied yourself. You were submitted to the

  844. instruction and the the house that got assigned you to, you to

  845. and you glean from it. And then you move.

  846. Carlos, stand up in the back. Carlos.

  847. Carlos, you have a sailboat, correct?

  848. How big is that sailboat? It's 42 feet.

  849. Correct. 42 feet. This sailboat that he has, a

  850. gentleman was saying he was, you know, like he's going to give it

  851. to him, you know what, going to sell it to him.

  852. And but he wouldn't do anything, just dragging around.

  853. So he came out one day. How long ago was this?

  854. It's been a year. We were out in the foyer and he

  855. says, Pastor Earl, you don't know what to do.

  856. You know he's talking about I really want need this boat.

  857. You know I need this other because he lives on his boat and

  858. so he had a smaller one, but he knew he needed to get this

  859. larger one based upon purpose and things that he knew God

  860. wanted him to do. And I said, look, go give the

  861. man $500.00 cash and let him know you're serious about buying

  862. the boat so he can give you a price.

  863. So he grabbed $500.00 cash and gave it to him and the guy gave

  864. him the title. He bought a 42 foot sailboat for

  865. $500. Are you hearing me?

  866. The point is, is that he was. You know what he didn't do?

  867. He didn't say Passer. Old knows nothing about boats.

  868. I mean the, I mean the man builds boats.

  869. He's built yachts. Okay.

  870. He sell. He has, he has sailed and all

  871. over the world. He has navigated boats all over

  872. the world. Okay and I, my experience and

  873. knowledge compared to him, Forget about it.

  874. I mean, it's not even there. The point is, though he was

  875. willing to remain teachable and what seemed like he was getting

  876. nothing, he agreed in his spirit that the words I told him he

  877. should act on, and when he did, the impossible manifested.

  878. Amen. Hallelujah.

  879. So the point is, is that this these kind of moments that you

  880. want to always be listening. But again, if you're at odds or

  881. or you feel like you've arrived, you know, and that you know you

  882. know enough now and nobody can tell you anything you know or

  883. you know you you kind of got crossways somewhere.

  884. So now you don't want to listen. This is why the Bible commands

  885. us to love. I I don't have time to be

  886. crossways because there's too much of God to know that's going

  887. to help you with your destiny, to hinder being teachable

  888. because you know you're just upset about something.

  889. I mean, get over yourself, OK? Please get over yourself so we

  890. can actually go on and do something awesome because God

  891. wants us all to come to be together wants us all to bring

  892. our gifts and you have I remember one time someone when I

  893. was in youth ministry again I'm youth pastoring.

  894. You know we're growing the youth and they're just a leader and we

  895. were had grown enough that you know it it basically the

  896. students in the back could not see the screen so when we were

  897. putting the words on they couldn't see them at all.

  898. So this leader came to me and say, Pastor Earl, you know, the

  899. teens can't see back here at all.

  900. You know, I was thinking, what if you bounded a couple TV's on

  901. the side so that they could see the words, You know what I

  902. didn't do? I didn't go.

  903. You're not a youth pastor. You don't know Jack.

  904. I was like, what a brilliant idea.

  905. I mean, someone was a problem solver.

  906. And it wasn't against the vision.

  907. It was for the vision. And because you're willing to

  908. not out like you know it all, you end up saying what a great

  909. idea. Not only is a great idea, but

  910. then you let all the other leaders know who came up with

  911. the idea and you let the pastor know who came up with the idea.

  912. And you're not actually taking any credit for the idea because

  913. you realize every part is super important for this thing.

  914. And when you do that in the workplace, because most people

  915. won't say, well, who had the idea, because that means you

  916. might be promoted, you might get the raise.

  917. So they wanna be and you gotta be like nobody can take what

  918. God's got from me anyway. I mean, because your destiny is

  919. your destiny and nobody can take it.

  920. I don't care if you have a labor network, if you're Jacob, made

  921. no mistake about it. They can screw you over 10

  922. times, but in the end, you're gonna get the wage.

  923. You'll take over the company. Are you hearing me?

  924. Doesn't matter how much they mess with you.

  925. Doesn't matter how much they rob and steal from you, because if

  926. you'll just do it God's way. Hey, man, You all right?

  927. My wife's, you know, freaking out about my word up.

  928. Forgive me. You know I didn't mean it in one

  929. sense. I mean, you know, in the sense

  930. that all you took it, you can get messed up with somebody that

  931. will try to mess up your promotion, but don't you worry

  932. about that because God will highly y'all forgive me, OK?

  933. I mean, I'm teachable. Just using your own slang,

  934. Apologize. Amen.

  935. Nobody walked. I understand.

  936. Yeah, but people get offended over that.

  937. And that is true statement, you know, because, again, the pastor

  938. has to forgive everybody. But if he does something

  939. questionable, then at the end of the day, but I can.

  940. I ask for forgiveness. No big deal, you know.

  941. No big deal. Amen.

  942. No pride on me, man. I just fix it.

  943. I just fix it. All right?

  944. So you may get messed up by somebody multiple times.

  945. You just stay, Jacob, and you'll be promoted.

  946. At the end of the day, you'll be promoted because nobody can rob

  947. you. God will always promote you.

  948. But you're not going to get ahead in the workplace if you're

  949. not being teachable in the spiritual place, because that is

  950. A and I'll close with this thought.

  951. It is a sewing and reaping concept.

  952. You know, today in today's environment, people want to do

  953. as little as possible with the most amount of pay.

  954. Now some people say, well, that's smart.

  955. Well, at the end of the day, it's not purpose because again,

  956. if you're trying to barely be somewhere but get the most money

  957. so you can actually be somewhere else to do what you want, well

  958. then you know what? You're a slave because I'm where

  959. I want to be. And the time is not an issue

  960. because I'm in destiny. See, when you're doing your

  961. destiny, I mean, again, the thought process is to be able to

  962. make money, and yet you get to do what you want to do.

  963. That's how the world functions. I want to do what I want to do,

  964. but be able to make money. Well, I do exactly what I'm

  965. called to do. And God provides.

  966. That's amazing. And when, I mean again, how do

  967. you tell someone who wants to mountain climb all the time

  968. that, hey, we've already been doing this for four hours, let's

  969. go back, we've already been hired. 88, can we get a break?

  970. 15 minutes. I mean, when you're passionate

  971. about something, breaks, are you already thinking about breaks?

  972. You're not thinking about that kind of stuff.

  973. But what do we do in the workplace?

  974. Because we really, it's not not what we're called to do.

  975. So we want to do as little as possible, get a lot of money so

  976. we can go do our own stuff. And I that's not impressive to

  977. me because really that's robbery.

  978. Because at the end of the day, you're really not giving your

  979. all to the place that's actually hired you.

  980. You're cheating them, you're robbing them.

  981. I mean, you are labing at that point.

  982. You wanna be the Jacob you wanna come in and serve, You wanna be

  983. there. You wanna cast ideas, You want

  984. it to prosper and be awesome. And it doesn't matter if it

  985. looks like they're making all the money.

  986. Because again, the Bible even talks about you can make all

  987. kind of money for unrighteous people and in the end gotta just

  988. transferred over to you. You know, some people aren't

  989. having companies today is because they were squandering

  990. their talents at a particular company.

  991. When we don't get in the word to grow ourselves personally, then

  992. guess what? You're not going to try to grow

  993. yourself naturally in the workplace.

  994. If you're not going to be able to receive instruction from your

  995. pastor and those that oversee you in the church, then you're

  996. not going to receive instruction of the ones that are overseeing

  997. you. If you're rebellious to us,

  998. you're going to be rebellious to them.

  999. And that's even if you're following Mammon.

1000. I'll do anything, the manager says.

1001. I want to get up a leg up. Now that's actually selfish

1002. ambition. In your rebellion, even now,

1003. although you're serving and you'll do whatever they say and

1004. work however many hours and then they all ask someone and reaping

1005. is the fact that you can see someone do something and learn

1006. from that experience instead of shutting it down and just be the

1007. only one who gets it done. But I can't learn from them.

1008. I mean, that was the problem with the one talent guy instead

1009. of going to the five and two guy and say how you doing this?

1010. What do they do? Bury it.

1011. Think about that. He's given a talent and he's

1012. supposed to reproduce. What's he doing while the

  1013. master's gone? How's he eating?

1014. Where's the food coming from? The master's table.

1015. Where's the drink coming from? The master's table.

1016. Where's the the lodging coming from?

1017. The master's table. So he's squandering all the

1018. master's resources and burying his very purpose.

1019. So no matter. No wonder the masters upset

1020. because you have squandered, you have taken all my resource and

1021. then you won't even work. You want to do your you want to

1022. take my stuff and do what you want to do.

1023. And this might be the modern day US Christianity.

1024. I want to do my stuff, but squander God's blessings.

1025. Take them instead of saying, no, I'm going to remain teachable.

1026. I'm gonna grow personally. I'm gonna receive instruction

1027. and grow. And then when I see people

1028. actually getting the faith done, I'm gonna learn from their

1029. experiences so that I myself can learn from them and grow.

1030. How did you do that? What were you doing?

1031. And how does that apply to me? And how can I do that So that I

1032. overcome, then we all overcome. And then you apply that over

1033. into your workplace. The next thing you know, you're

1034. getting the promotion. Or God may say, your time's done

1035. here. Start your own stuff, whatever

1036. the case may be. But when you remain teachable,

1037. you're always going to excel because we can always learn

1038. something no matter how old we get.

1039. Hey, man, thank you. So.
