  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. The things that we are going to

  4. talk about tonight is just continuing in a.

  5. You know, a series that I started in the beginning of the

  6. summer on the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

  7. And so there's so much more to unfold about the Holy Spirit.

  8. But, you know, we'll finish maybe when he returns.

  9. I don't know. Because, you know, the very

  10. person that is at work today is the Holy Spirit.

  11. Amen. And the Word of God is God

  12. breathed by. The breath of God, the Holy

  13. Spirit. Amen.

  14. So the Holy Spirit, the word of God, is alive.

  15. Amen. And the Holy Spirit now is alive

  16. and living on the inside of us. And we are worshipping God in

  17. what? Spirit and truth?

  18. Spirit and truth. And if there's ever a day that

  19. you should be thankful that you have the Spirit of truth living

  20. on the inside of you, it should be today.

  21. Because of all the lies. And we don't have to buy the

  22. lies of the world system or we don't have to buy the lies of

  23. the things that are happening. No, we have truth on the inside

  24. of us. He's called the Holy Spirit the

  25. Spirit of truth. And not only do we have the Holy

  26. Spirit, the Spirit of truth living on the inside of us, we

  27. have the written Word of God, which is absolute truth.

  28. Hallelujah. Glory to God.

  29. And this is what we want to build our life upon, so that

  30. again we can be those in the Kingdom that are unshakable.

  31. Everything else in the world is shaking and falling apart.

  32. Economics are falling apart. Come on.

  33. Everything. Education.

  34. Oh my gosh, Do we not see it right before our very eyes

  35. falling apart? Every system of the world is

  36. falling apart. But the very thing that's going

  37. to remain sure and steadfast, come on forever and ever and

  38. ever and ever is His word. And he tells us we need to build

  39. our house upon the rock in the word of God.

  40. So that we're not going to participate in sinking sand

  41. Hallelujah. Or we're not going to

  42. participate that when the winds blow, we get knocked over.

  43. Because there's all kinds of winds blowing right now, all

  44. kinds of things blowing around. Hallelujah.

  45. Glory to God. But those that are founded upon

  46. the rock, those that have built their life upon the word of God,

  47. the rock we know is Jesus Christ.

  48. And Jesus was the Word. Hallelujah.

  49. Hallelujah. So in Speaking of the ministry,

  50. I I was, you know, I listened to my sermon that I did the last

  51. Wednesday night, which was back in.

  52. The end of August, I guess was the last Wednesday night that I

  53. did this. So I had to go back to remind

  54. myself and I was listening to myself preaching.

  55. And I said I don't want to sound like that when I preach.

  56. So I said Self don't sound like that, but I hear the sound.

  57. Oh glory to God, but you just can't change it.

  58. It is what it is, I said. I want to sound soft and sweet,

  59. but but Lion just comes up. Glory to God, Hallelujah.

  60. I really did tell myself that I listened to my whole sermon and

  61. I said I I just really want to sound sweet.

  62. Oh, praise the Lord. Anyway, so you know, I'll be

  63. real with you guys. I really did want to sound

  64. sweet, but my heart is sweet. I can be assure you of that.

  65. Hallelujah. So.

  66. We were talking about the ministry of the Holy Spirit, but

  67. anyway, I had to go back and I had to listen to where we left

  68. off. And so I wanted to start today

  69. because I cannot go back. This is actually the 8th

  70. teaching on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit that we did over the

  71. summer and I couldn't believe it and so I can't go back.

  72. To, you know, start from the very beginning or give a review.

  73. I'm just encouraging you. If you still want to know more

  74. about who the Holy Spirit is as a person and the ministry of the

  75. Holy Spirit, you need to go back and listen to all of those

  76. Wednesday night podcasts. Because again, I am.

  77. I do flow in the teacher, so I like to build upon one another,

  78. OK? And so that's just how I do it.

  79. And so I just encourage you go back, listen to it so that you

  80. can just continue to grow in knowing who the Holy Spirit is

  81. and what the Holy Spirit's assignment is in the earth

  82. today. Amen.

  83. Because it is imperative that every person know have an

  84. intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

  85. Amen. Amen.

  86. Because it's he that is at work within you continually.

  87. OK, now in First Thessalonians, this is where I want to start.

  88. First Thessalonians, Chapter 5. Because we last time we talked,

    1 Thessalonians 5 chapter mention

  89. we talked about the fact that the Holy Spirit, we started with

  90. it. There were two workings that the

  91. Holy Spirit is vast and there's many functions of the Holy

  92. Spirit. But a lot of times we're only

  93. focusing on the two functions, which is the inner working of

  94. the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes

  95. upon man, OK, which we know on the day of Pentecost, when the

  96. Holy Spirit what fail OK and comes upon man, he'll receive

  97. what power. But I believe there's so much.

  98. You know, teaching on that side of the spectrum that we've

  99. completely neglected the inner working of the Holy Spirit,

  100. which we said was to produce the 9 gifts of the fruits of the

  101. Spirit within your life, the nine fruits of the spirit within

  102. your life. That's part of the Holy Spirit's

  103. assignment and job with the inner working.

  104. In you, but then also what we talked about, to continue to

  105. develop the character of God within you, the nature of God

  106. within you. That is all part.

  107. Of the inner workings of the Holy Spirit and we talked about

  108. how it's so important that we recognize the Holy Spirit and

  109. the inward man, right. And that's where the Holy Spirit

  110. is working and and speaking to us through.

  111. And we focused a little bit this last time that I shared on how

  112. important it is that we. Receive the engrafted word of

  113. God which is able to save our soul.

  114. When we get born again, our spirit man now becomes alive

  115. unto Christ. But we have to, as believers,

  116. take the responsibility to renew our mind to the word of God so

  117. that our mind can be saved, which was our our will, our our

  118. emotions, right, our reasoning, our thinking, our all of that is

  119. part of what our how our mind functions and we have the

  120. responsibility. To transform our minds with the

  121. renewing of the Word. And we read that scripture out

  122. of Romans chapter 12, the last time we talked.

    Romans 12 chapter mention

  123. And then recognizing that the Scripture says in James that we

  124. are to receive the engrafted word of God, that's part of that

  125. renewing of the mind that we have to receive the engrafted

  126. word of God, which is able. To save our soul, Right.

  127. And so first Thessalonians 523 says this.

  128. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely, Say

  129. sanctify entirely, sanctify you entirely.

  130. This is what the Lord wants to do.

  131. He doesn't want to just save you so that one day when you die you

  132. get to go to heaven. No, he wants to completely,

  133. entirely sanctify you. And there is what we call a

  134. sanctification process, and lots of people are not talking about

  135. this today in churches. There is a sanctification

  136. process that what he wants to do within our lives so that we can

  137. be what He calls holy, just as He is holy, and that's part of

  138. the Holy Spirit's job, is also as He's working on the inside of

  139. us, is to bring forth that sanctification in our life.

  140. Our spirit man again, once we get born again, it's alive unto

  141. Christ. It's alive unto Christ.

  142. Now. That means now it wants to do

  143. what Christ says in his word, to do right.

  144. He says I'm going to give them a new heart, right?

  145. And that heart, he says he's going to write his laws within

  146. it. So now he's going to take that

  147. cold, Stony heart away when we get born again.

  148. And then he's going to give us a new heart, a new spirit, and

  149. he's going to write his laws in it.

  150. Now our Spirit is alive unto him and now because the Holy Spirit

  151. lives on the inside of us when we get born again.

  152. Now the Holy Spirit can begin to speak to us through His word,

  153. Amen, to bring a sanctification process to our lives.

  154. OK, so this is still part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is

  155. to bring sanctification not just to your spirit man.

  156. Isn't that what Thessalonians says?

  157. But entirely. Entirely.

  158. He wants everything redeemed. And why do we know this?

  159. Because the scripture says it. But not only that.

  160. We know that the body it can't even be redeemed.

  161. He wants the body redeemed, but he can't be fully redeemed until

  162. we take on. That glorious body again.

  163. Come on, when we see him in a twinkling of an eye, when the

  164. trumpet sounds, we're going to be changed again.

  165. And we're going to take on that glorified body that we had, that

  166. Adam had in the midst of the Garden.

  167. Because this body is still decaying.

  168. But guess what we can have? We can have governance over our

  169. body while we're still in the earth.

  170. We it can't be complete until He, but He wants it complete.

  171. You see that he still desires that our body is completely

  172. redeemed Everything about us. He wants completely redeemed

  173. everything. Everything Hallelujah.

  174. Because he created it so it says he wants himself to sanctify you

  175. entirely. What does he say?

  176. May your spirit, soul and body be preserved, complete without

  177. blame at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  178. Is he coming? Is he coming?

  179. We still believe he is coming. Amen.

  180. And he is coming quickly. He is coming quickly, more

  181. quicker than ever before. Glory to God.

  182. Hallelujah. So there's things I could say,

  183. but I'm going to stay focused. OK, So he wants us sanctified.

  184. Say sanctified. Hallelujah.

  185. And we talked about the fact that with the Holy Spirit

  186. working on the inside of us, we have to what cooperate.

  187. We have to cooperate with the Holy Spirit because he can't do

  188. anything unless we acknowledge, And I said this, yield to it.

  189. He can't do anything for us unless we acknowledge it.

  190. And unless we accept it, and unless we yield to what the Holy

  191. Spirit is saying to do within our lives, right.

  192. And that's where it's going to bring the transformation within

  193. your life. He wants us completely

  194. transformed, completely, entirely.

  195. Every bit of us. Amen.

  196. Now let's go. To second Peter, Chapter one.

  197. Second Peter, Chapter one. This is important.

  198. And we're going to start in verse three, seeing that His

  199. divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life

  200. and godliness. You see this?

  201. So he wants us. We've been given divine power.

  202. It's been granted to us. So that we can live a life, a

  203. Kingdom life. Amen.

  204. And it would be what? Godly?

  205. He wants us to live a godly life.

  206. All right, He wants us to live a godly life.

  207. And it says this through the true knowledge of Him who called

  208. us by his own glory and excellence.

  209. For by these he has granted to us the precious.

  210. And magnificent promises. What are those?

  211. His Word, So that by them you may become partakers of the

  212. divine nature. Again, this is about allowing

  213. the inward working of the Holy Spirit to bring sanctification

  214. to us, because now we have obtained the Divine nature on

  215. the inside of us. We are no longer of the sin

  216. nature. Once you get born again, that

  217. sin nature is dead and it no longer has control over you.

  218. It only has control over you if you remain ignorant of what

  219. belongs to you and who you are in Christ.

  220. And This is why we see so many believers that are still living

  221. like they are sinners. Right.

  222. But we know that he's coming back for a what?

  223. A glorious church. A mature church without what

  224. spot or wrinkle. And that's his desire.

  225. That's his plan. That's his plan for man, Right.

  226. And so now we've become partakers of this divine nature.

  227. Come on. That's why we shouldn't say

  228. we're just still sorry sinners. We're not sorry sinners any

  229. longer. We have a divine nature living

  230. on the inside of us. Hallelujah.

  231. A divine nature living on the inside of us, having escaped the

  232. corruption that is in the world by lust.

  233. You see that? Because we now have that divine

  234. nature on the inside of us, we get to escape the corruption of

  235. this world and its lust. So those lust should no longer

  236. have hold over us, because we have this divine nature on the

  237. inside of us. Hallelujah.

  238. So he goes on to say now for this very reason, also applying

  239. all diligence. In your face supply moral

  240. excellence and and moral excellence knowledge, and in

  241. your knowledge self-control. And in yourself control

  242. perseverance and in your perseverance godliness And in

  243. your godliness brother kind brotherly kindness and in your

  244. brotherly kindness love. For if these qualities are yours

  245. and. Are what increasing, say

  246. increasing? Increasing.

  247. We have to ask ourselves every day, are these qualities of this

  248. divine nature, of His magnificent promises?

  249. Are they increasing in my life? Because He expects what increase

  250. always, always He expects increase in our lives.

  251. And and He lets us know what the increase is that he expects.

  252. Godliness. Knowledge of who He is.

  253. You ought to be able to persevere through your little

  254. emotions more today than you were.

  255. Come on, right. self-control? Are these things increasing in

  256. you? Or do you see you're not any

  257. different than 10 years ago, and you've remained the same.

  258. You still have an anger problem. You still have offenses

  259. happening. And you're you take everything

  260. you know, with an offense that anybody says.

  261. Come on, you. I mean, oh, my goodness.

  262. Anyway, you know what I'm talking about.

  263. Don't get me started. OK?

  264. Brotherly kindness. I mean, we don't have time for

  265. pettiness anymore. We are living in a hour that we

  266. need to get ourselves together because he is quickly returning.

  267. And this is not just all people been saying this for

  268. generations. No.

  269. We see it unfolding every day before our eyes, and we don't

  270. have time to be babies. Especially those who I've been

  271. here and should know. Come on, you should be more kind

  272. in your brotherliness. Come on.

  273. But yet, I know people can't get along with anybody.

  274. And he said, love, Praise the Lord.

  275. Love. Let's just say love, peace, joy,

  276. kindness, gentleness. Oh, we're so kind.

  277. Come on, it says. For if these qualities are

  278. yours, and they're increasing, they render you neither useless

  279. nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus

  280. Christ. So what happens if these things

  281. are not increasing in a believer's life?

  282. What did the Scripture just say? Say it out loud.

  283. You will be useless, unfruitful. And we don't need useless,

  284. unfruitful Christians in the hour that we're living.

  285. We need people that know who they are in Christ, come on,

  286. that know how to walk in the attributes and characteristics

  287. of the divine nature that's been put within their lives, so that

  288. they can actually be that one that we talked about on the

  289. Sunday when I ministered. That they would actually be

  290. people that know how to walk in love.

  291. They would actually be people that have the light shining

  292. within their lives, that people would be drawn to them, and that

  293. they would actually walk in wisdom beyond their capacity,

  294. beyond their knowledge. Wisdom that is not learned from

  295. these natural realm, the natural realm, but wisdom that is from

  296. what above. Hallelujah.

  297. And He let us know what those people look like and call them

  298. fools, right. So, you know, everybody's so

  299. sensitive about what things the scripture says.

  300. But he wasn't very sensitive when he penned this book.

  301. He called people fools. He called the.

  302. He called people hypocrites. He called people Vipers.

  303. He called them like it was. Why?

  304. Because you have to be shocked into reality.

  305. Come on, this is not a little, you know, flowery sermon all the

  306. time. Because we see what flowery

  307. sermons have gotten us. Christians that can't even live

  308. according to the word of God. I've been a lot.

  309. I've been around now 32 years of living this out, You know, not

  310. as long as some, but faithfully for 32 years, every day of my

  311. life, living this thing out. And I'm going to tell you,

  312. Christians today look way different than Christians when I

  313. started out. Amen.

  314. So he lets us know that we have a responsibility to continue to

  315. grow in the divine nature that He has put within us, and He

  316. expects us to increase in that every year.

  317. And part of the way that we are going to grow and increase is

  318. what he calls pruning. And pruning happens by the Holy

  319. Spirit. Pruning happens by the Holy

  320. Spirit. Pruning happens by when you're

  321. reading the Word and you see something in the Word, and the

  322. Holy Spirit begins to speak to you in your inner man and say,

  323. yeah, that's you. And you need to adjust that.

  324. You need to change that. You need to obey that.

  325. You need to do that because this is what you're doing in your

  326. response or this is how you're treating that person.

  327. This is how this works. And this is called pruning and

  328. or what we could call part of the process of sanctification.

  329. Sanctification. I don't know how more simpler we

  330. can break this down because religion has made, you know,

  331. this term sanctification, all religiosity, all this stuff that

  332. people can't even understand what it's even saying.

  333. But we're going to see how simple it really is by reading a

  334. few more scriptures. OK, so we see here first

  335. Thessalonians. We already read that that he

  336. mentions that he wants our entire being sanctified and to

  337. remain what, Blameless. So he doesn't want you to go

  338. through life. And there's things about you

  339. that there can be blame. He could blame you for some

  340. things. You want to remain what?

  341. Blameless. OK, blameless.

  342. Before his return. So now look at OK, let me finish

  343. reading the scripture that I was at in first Peter, because it's

  344. just so good. So he says in verse 8.

  345. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they will

  346. render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge

  347. of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus

  348. Christ. For he who lacks these qualities

  349. is what, blind or short sighted, having forgotten His

  350. purification. What was the purification?

  351. The purification was the blood. The blood Purified you to give

  352. you access so that His divine nature, come on, could be put on

  353. the inside of you. And now we have to remain pure.

  354. We have to remain pure. And part of remaining pure is

  355. the Holy Spirit's job working on the inside of us, bringing forth

  356. things within us that He can say there's some sanctification that

  357. still needs to happen in this area, in your life.

  358. And he's always working, always, always working in you.

  359. So he lets us know that if you don't do these things, you're

  360. going to what? Be blind or short sighted?

  361. You're going to be blind. Well, where there is blindness,

  362. or where there is things you can't see, or where you could

  363. also say when you're blind, it's pretty dark is where the enemy

  364. now has this access. And blinded can also represent

  365. deception, right? Or we know the scripture says if

  366. you're not, which I read this, I believe in that last message in

  367. James, that if you are only a hearer of the word but not A,

  368. you are deceiving yourself. What is it saying if you're not

  369. doing these qualities, if these qualities are not increasing in

  370. your life? You are blinded and short

  371. sighted. You are beginning to go down a

  372. road of self deception or delusion.

  373. OK, so because why you have forgotten his purification from

  374. his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the

  375. more diligent to make certain about his calling and choosing

  376. you. Did he choose you?

  377. He chose you to be his child, To be his son, To be his daughter.

  378. You didn't choose him. He chose you.

  379. He chose you. What a privilege, What an honor.

  380. He chose you, right? He chose you.

  381. For as long as you practice these things, all those things

  382. that we talked about, you will never stumble because what is

  383. he's letting you know. As long as you are continuing to

  384. increase in knowledge, increase in perseverance, increase in

  385. brotherly kindness, increase in godliness, increase in all these

  386. things, you can be assured to never stumble.

  387. I have heard people you know balk at that religious people

  388. because they think, well, who do you think you are, that you

  389. think you could never sumble or you could never sin again?

  390. He said. I could.

  391. That's arrogant. We're all sinners.

  392. They don't know who they are in Christ because he lets us know

  393. that now that that divine nature is on the inside of us.

  394. And as long as we continue to increase in these qualities of

  395. God and allow that sanctification process of the

  396. Holy Spirit to increase our lives every year, every year,

  397. every year, we can be assured never to stumble.

  398. Never to stumble. Hallelujah, Hallelujah.

  399. Glory to God. You ought to be thankful some of

  400. you that keep stumbling in the same same old thing, same old

  401. thing, same old thing, year after year, you are not

  402. increasing in what he says in the Scripture.

  403. Hallelujah. So he says this verse 11 finally

  404. will be done, for in this way the entrance into the eternal

  405. Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly

  406. supplied to you. Hallelujah, Romans 12/1 and two

  407. Romans 12/1 and two. Now remember, I already said,

  408. first Thessalonians, that he expects our spirit, soul, and

  409. body to remain blameless until and sanctified until his return.

  410. Romans 12/1 And two again lets us know.

  411. Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to

  412. present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to

  413. God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

  414. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the

  415. renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of

  416. God is, that which is good, acceptable, and perfect.

  417. Now in this one again you see here that he begins to let you

  418. know. Not only he talks about renewing

  419. of the mind, but again he tells you you have to present your

  420. body again. He wants this body holy.

  421. He wants this body in a right blameless position before him

  422. before he returns. And so many people don't even

  423. talk about the body side of it, right?

  424. So, remaining blameless, spirit, soul and body.

  425. We talked about this in several of the other messages about the

  426. fact that we need to learn how that we don't have to any longer

  427. be controlled by the dictates of our flesh.

  428. What is the body? The body's faculties have to do

  429. with what our desires right the fleshly desires or the carnal,

  430. what he calls carnal nature, the carnal man, our body.

  431. So our body has to we have to get into a place where Paul says

  432. that I crucify my flesh daily. Our spirit man is alive unto

  433. God. It's right with God.

  434. It's growing and the knowledge of God and growing and the

  435. things of God, right? Our mind now is being renewed to

  436. the word of God, and our mind is getting into alignment with his

  437. thinking and the way he does things and how he says to do

  438. things. Our emotions, all of those

  439. things are lining up with Scripture.

  440. We're not letting the our emotions control us, to have

  441. outbursts of anger or outbursts of flesh or outburst of

  442. whatever, right? It's getting into alignment

  443. because we are now renewing our mind to the word of God.

  444. But this flesh, this body, we have to decide every day that

  445. we're going to crucify it, because again, it's not going to

  446. be complete Lee redeemed until he blows the trumpet.

  447. But if we can get our mind lined up with our spirit man, and they

  448. are in agreement, and then we do what the scripture says, now we

  449. will what? Dictate to our flesh body get

  450. into alignment. You can't.

  451. You don't own me. This flesh does not own me

  452. anymore. Right?

  453. Right. This flesh don't own me anymore.

  454. No. It submits to me.

  455. It submits to what I say it's going to do.

  456. Right now we have to what? When he says crucify the flesh

  457. daily, He's talking about we have to bring it into

  458. subjection. We have to teach our body that

  459. it's going to cement, it's going to submit.

  460. We're going to bring it into subjection to the word of God,

  461. period. And this is how we can remain

  462. blameless. But we're not doing it in and of

  463. ourselves. We're doing it by the working of

  464. the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit begins to reveal things

  465. to us, to help bring our body into subjection.

  466. And we've talked about this before, like, you know he's

  467. going to tell you, quit eating cupcakes.

  468. Can't eat cupcakes? You can eat Stacey cakes.

  469. No, you can't eat cupcakes every meal and expect not to have

  470. sugar. Diabetes, right?

  471. I mean, you just can't eat all that sugar.

  472. Because we know things affect our body because our body is

  473. not. Again, it's decaying daily.

  474. Everything about our body is dying and decreasing, but with

  475. the Holy Spirit, we know the Bible says that it the Holy

  476. Spirit can quicken our mortal body, He can quicken our mortal

  477. body, Roman says. So if we get into a place where

  478. we're getting ourselves in alignment, then our body can be

  479. quickened and we don't have to be tired and run down because

  480. we're speaking to our body. We're doing what?

  481. What those things are necessary to take care of our body.

  482. You know, he talks about gluttony.

  483. You can be gluttonous not just with food but other things.

  484. Amen. But he does talk about it and he

  485. talks about right bodily exercise.

  486. It profits. Profits little, but it profits.

  487. Why does it profit little? Because it is in a decay

  488. process, but it's still profits. OK, so there's things that he

  489. tells us we have to do if we're going to continue to allow have

  490. ourselves in alignment, spirit, soul and body so that we can

  491. remain blameless. So First Corinthians 927 says

  492. this, but I discipline my body and make it a slave so that

  493. after I have preached to others, I myself will not be

  494. disqualified. Amen.

  495. So he's concerned about the body too.

  496. He's concerned about all three areas of our life and we know

  497. that if our body is not in alignment, then you know what

  498. our our purpose is going to be cut short.

  499. Things that he is assigned for us to do, we're not going to be

  500. able to do fully because we just can't run our race the way that

  501. we should. You know, and those types of

  502. things. And not only that, do you know

  503. that we He tells us that we are a part of His body and we're one

  504. with him. We're one with Him.

  505. Let me read this scripture. First Corinthians 6/15/20 says

  506. this. Do you not know that your bodies

  507. are members of Christ? Our bodies?

  508. It's not just about the spirit of the man, it's not just about

  509. renewing of the mind. But we house, come on, the third

  510. person of the Godhead and we are part of his body.

  511. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?

  512. Shall I? Then take the members of.

  513. Christ and make them members of a harlot.

  514. Keep reading. Certainly not I'm being kind and

  515. soft. Or do you not know that he?

  516. Who has joined to a harlot is 1 body with her.

  517. This gets serious, for the two he says shall become one flesh.

  518. Now he's given a type and shadow of what?

  519. Marriage. When you get married you become

  520. what? 1 flesh.

  521. And he's using that type and shadow that when we get born

  522. again, our bodies don't belong to us, they're his and we become

  523. one flesh. He's using that example with him

  524. we become married with Christ. We are one flesh with him.

  525. He gives this as an example, right?

  526. And he says for the two he says shall become one flesh.

  527. But he who is joined to the Lord is 1 Spirit with him.

  528. Say one, wear one with him, wear one with him.

  529. That's why he says flee sexual immorality.

  530. Every sin that a man does is outside the body.

  531. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own

  532. body. Or do you not know that your

  533. body is what the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you?

  534. Say he's in me, whom you have from God, and you are not your

  535. own. Say I'm not my own, for you were

  536. bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your

  537. body and in your spirit, which are gods, Which are gods, both

  538. of them, the body and the spirit.

  539. And he wants your mind. All three belong to him, belong

  540. to him. He wants them completely

  541. sanctified. All three.

  542. So what we put in our body matters to the Lord.

  543. What we do with our body matters to the Lord.

  544. All of it matters to the Lord. And I don't think we talk about

  545. this enough. All three areas matter to the

  546. Lord. All three areas cannot bring

  547. glory to God right now. Look at this First Corinthians

  548. 12 and 13 For by 1 Spirit, we were all baptized into one body,

  549. whether Jew or Greek, whether slave or free, and we were all.

  550. Made to drink of 1 spirit. We are one with him, but we are

  551. also one with everyone. Else who is born again.

  552. Amen. And you know that he wants us to

  553. be unified. He wants the body of Christ to

  554. be 1, just as we are one with Him.

  555. He wants us as the body of Christ to be one in the same.

  556. Amen. Now Ephesians 4/4 through six

  557. says this. There is one body and one

  558. spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling. 1

  559. Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, and Father of all who

  560. is above all and through all, and in you all.

  561. Come on, you see this. We are all one in the Spirit.

  562. We are all one in the body of Christ.

  563. And everything that everybody does affects the body.

  564. Everyone, everyone, everyone affects the body, every one of

  565. us. And so it's very important that

  566. we recognize that. That is why in Galatians chapter

    Galatians 5 chapter mention

  567. 5, let's read it out of the Amplified Galatians chapter 5.

    Galatians 5 chapter mention

  568. You know, I like reading all of it, so maybe I'll stop.

  569. But let's start in verse 16. But I say walk and live

  570. habitually in the Holy Spirit, responsive to and controlled and

  571. guided by the Spirit. Then you will certainly not

  572. gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh or of the human

  573. nature without God. You see that?

  574. So he's letting us know. Listen, part of the Holy

  575. Spirit's job, as you're walking with the Holy Spirit every day,

  576. is to then allow you. What if you're being responsive

  577. to say I'm responsive, controlled, say controlled and

  578. guided by the Spirit? You see that you will not

  579. gratify the cravings and the desires of this flesh.

  580. For the desires of the flesh are in opposition to the Holy

  581. Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh,

  582. godless human nature. For there are antagonists to

  583. each other, continually withstanding and in conflict

  584. with each other, so that you are not free and are prevented from

  585. doing what you desire to do. So he's letting us know just

  586. because we're born again, this flesh still will try to do what

  587. it wants to do, and that's why we have to crucify the flesh

  588. daily. But the way we're going to do

  589. that is by being responsive, controlled by and governed by

  590. the Holy Spirit, speaking to our lives, speaking to our inner man

  591. every day as we walk with him, habitually walk with him.

  592. And he's going to then begin to show us the things that are

  593. still controlling our lives that aren't supposed to be.

  594. And when we begin to respond to those things that we are

  595. prompted by, that we yield to and allow the Holy Spirit to

  596. show us, then what happens? That's when sanctification

  597. begins to happen. That's when we'll begin to allow

  598. the Holy Spirit to work within our life, to bring

  599. sanctification so that we're no longer acting like Galatians

  600. tells us. With all of these things, 'cause

  601. I still know Christians that envy.

  602. I still know Christians that are carousing and drunkenness.

  603. I still know Christians that are in jealousy and strife and emni.

  604. I still know all the Christians that are acting selfish and

  605. immoral and impurity, right? Why?

  606. Why is it? Is it because they're not born

  607. again? No, it's not because they're not

  608. born again. It's because they've not taught

  609. themselves and allowed the Holy Spirit to teach them how to

  610. crucify the flesh. They've not been taught how to

  611. renew their mind to the word of God so that they'll quit living

  612. like carnal Christians. Carnal Christians?

  613. What a carnal Christians. Those that get born again but

  614. still live like the world and act like the world.

  615. OK, so there's process of sanctification that still has to

  616. happen, and a lot of it is because they're not being

  617. taught. But I'm going to tell you what

  618. those that truly love God and those that truly desire to live

  619. for God with all of their heart, He will.

  620. The Holy Spirit will always guide you to the place you need

  621. to grow to the next level. Always.

  622. Always. That's why you get born again in

  623. the Baptist Church. But guess what I found out by

  624. the AG, The Assemblies of God about the Holy Ghost and how we

  625. needed the power of the Holy Ghost living on the inside of

  626. us. Why?

  627. Because you're so hungry and you know there's got to be more.

  628. So guess what? The AG, the Pentecostals, they

  629. had, the more. So then you get into the more

  630. and you realize, well, there's even more and you learn.

  631. You got to learn how to walk by faith, and you got to learn how

  632. to come on renew your mind, 'cause they won't teach you how

  633. to renew your mind, but there is some people that will teach you

  634. how to renew your mind when you're hungry.

  635. When you know the Word says some things and you're not walking in

  636. it, Lord, lead me and guide me to the place so that I can grow

  637. from faith to faith, glory to glory.

  638. Because those that are truly hungry and those that truly have

  639. a heart for the things of God, the purity of God's Word, the

  640. Holy Ghost, will always lead you to a place to take you to the

  641. next level. Always.

  642. That's how good the Holy Ghost is.

  643. Always. Always Hallelujah.

  644. So the Holy Spirit is the one that's going to help us get this

  645. flesh into alignment. Now, what does sanctification

  646. mean? What does sanctification mean?

  647. Sanctification is the effect of consecration and purification

  648. and holiness. So if we're going to walk in

  649. sanctification and continuing to allow the inner working of the

  650. Holy Spirit to bring us, what is he doing?

  651. He's bringing us to a process that we'll see.

  652. I've got to consecrate myself in this area for me to grow to the

  653. next place. He's going to show you things

  654. you need to consecrate yourself to dedicate yourself to.

  655. I'm no longer going to be able to hang out with all my other

  656. buddies any longer, because if I'm going to get to another

  657. place of sanctification and purification and holy holiness,

  658. I'm no longer going to be able to hang out and do the things I

  659. used to do. Come on.

  660. If I'm going to allow this sanctification process to

  661. happen, I'm no longer going to be able to watch the things I

  662. used to be able to watch. I don't have any desire for

  663. those things anymore. I just want more God.

  664. The Holy Ghost is going to do those things within your heart,

  665. and if you hear it and yield to it and obey it, then

  666. sanctification starts happening. Come on, consecration starts

  667. happening. Holiness.

  668. And purification starts happening.

  669. But it will not happen if we don't yield to those promptings

  670. every time we hear them on the inside and while we're reading

  671. the word. And you wonder why your life is

  672. still the same. Well, it's not because of God, I

  673. can guarantee you that. No, it's because you have

  674. refused, and we talked about this, to yield to the Holy

  675. Ghost. To yield to the Holy Ghost as he

  676. prompts you and as he shows you things and and I'm going to tell

  677. you it will take the working of you, working with the Holy

  678. Spirit and Co laboring with the Holy Spirit to see that process

  679. happen. But without our cooperation and

  680. doing what the Holy Ghost is prompting us to do.

  681. It will not change. You will not change.

  682. You will remain the same. I've looked at the word

  683. sanctification out of this scripture out of first Peter one

  684. and two. First Peter one and two.

  685. It says according to the foreknowledge of God the Father

  686. by the sanctifying work of the Spirit.

  687. So what brings the sanctification to your life?

  688. The working of the Holy Spirit within you, The inner working.

  689. And when you looked up that word, sanctifying work,

  690. sanctification, it literally talks about sanctification of

  691. your heart or your spirit, but your life as well.

  692. So that has to do with your life.

  693. That has to do with your behaviors of what you're doing

  694. every day. It wasn't just about your spirit

  695. being pure and sanctified. It was about an outward display

  696. of an inward work. People ought to see that you're

  697. living a holy life. People ought to see that you're

  698. consecrated to God and nothing's going to move you off that line.

  699. Nothing. People ought to feel

  700. uncomfortable when they're around you because of Your

  701. Holiness. I mean, we can walk to places

  702. and then, you know, carry on conversations.

  703. Me and my husband meet people, you know, be nice, be friendly.

  704. And then they find out, you know, they're cussing.

  705. And I mean, one man we talked to up at the bar every day or every

  706. time we go to this restaurant, he's sitting at the bar.

  707. He's come through our church doors before.

  708. And you know what? He he cleans up his words, but

  709. he'll come and make sure if he sees my husband in that

  710. restaurant, he'll come talk to him and he's up at the bar every

  711. time we go in. It's the holiness.

  712. It's the holiness. It's the purity of the life that

  713. we live. Hallelujah.

  714. Sanctifying work of the Spirit is that inner working of the

  715. Holy Spirit. And I've said this before,

  716. that's why he's called the Holy Spirit, because he's holy, He's

  717. holy. And he wants us to be holy.

  718. He wants us to be sanctified completely. 2nd Thessalonians

  719. 213 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brother

  720. and beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the

  721. beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and

  722. faith in the truth. What is the truth?

  723. His Word. We know we could read his word

  724. and it. And he says it's called the

  725. washing of the watering of the word, which is a form of

  726. purification. That's what the priests used to

  727. have to do. They had to purify and wash.

  728. That's what all those washings were, right?

  729. So the Word itself, because it's alive.

  730. Because it's God breathed. Because it's breathed by the

  731. Spirit of God. Because our Spirit now is alive

  732. unto God. Because the Holy Spirit now is

  733. living on the inside of us. The Word is working and the Holy

  734. Spirit is working. And they're Simon simultaneously

  735. working together to bring purification and sanctification

  736. in our life. Amen.

  737. And it's by the word of God and the Spirit of God.

  738. Let me read that scripture. Ephesians 525 through 30.

  739. Husbands, I love how he used this type of shadow.

  740. Love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and gave

  741. himself up for her, that he might sanctify her and cleanse

  742. her with the washing of the water by the word, that he might

  743. present her to himself a glorious church, not having spot

  744. or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she would be holy and

  745. without blemish. So husbands ought to love their

  746. wives as their own bodies. Here's this body again, right?

  747. He who loves his wife loves himself.

  748. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes it and

  749. cherishes it, just as the Lord does the Church.

  750. For we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.

  751. Hallelujah. He wants US holy.

  752. He wants us sanctified every area of our life, and that is so

  753. important that we recognize through the working of the Holy

  754. Spirit internally again, developing the fruits of the

  755. Spirit within our life, right? Developing the characteristics

  756. and the nature of God within our life.

  757. All of that is part of that sanctification process that will

  758. only yield holiness within your life, holiness within your life,

  759. Hallelujah. Because he'd so desires that his

  760. people be wholly just as he is holy.

  761. Amen. Thank you so much for listening
