  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. John chapter one verse 35 it

  4. says this. And again the next day John was

  5. standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at

  6. Jesus as he walked and said, behold the Lamb of God.

  7. The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus,

  8. And Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, what

  9. do you seek? And they said to him, Rabbi,

  10. which translated means teacher, where are you staying?

  11. And he said to them, come and you will see.

  12. So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed

  13. with him that day, for it was about the 10th hour.

  14. One of the. Two who heard John speak and

  15. followed him was Andrew Simon Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

  16. He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, we have

  17. found the Messiah, which is translated means Christ and he

  18. brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looked and said, you

  19. are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas,

  20. which is translated Peter Hallelujah.

  21. Peter first heard about Jesus from his brother Andrew.

  22. G Peter heard. I said, Peter heard.

  23. Peter heard from someone else, a family member who came to

  24. announce to him that I found the Messiah.

  25. The Christ is here. The Christ is here.

  26. Now in context you must understand that Peter is of the

  27. nation of Israel and and and then the New Testament, the four

  28. gospels, they are spoken of as the Jews.

  29. So he is of Jewish descent and so he knows the writings of the

  30. the law and the writings of the prophets.

  31. He understands the history and lineage of his nation, and he

  32. knows as well as everyone else that they are waiting for this

  33. Messiah to come, this Messiah that was prophesied about in

  34. Isaiah Chapter 9, verse six. It said a child will be born, a

    Isaiah 9 chapter mention

  35. son will be given, and the government shall rest on his

  36. shoulders and there'll be no end to the increase of his

  37. government or peace that he would come on the throne of

  38. David. So they're expecting this

  39. Messiah to come, this Christ, this king, the King of Israel,

  40. who will come and set up his Kingdom that will have no end.

  41. And Andrew comes home to his brother and says, I found him

  42. every generation before us have been looking for him, but he's

  43. here. The one that has been prophesied

  44. about is in town. I've met him.

  45. I saw him. Can you imagine the excitement,

  46. the elation, the thoughts and the emotions that must have been

  47. going through Peter's mind when Andrew is saying we have found

  48. him? It had to be mixed emotions

  49. because number one, it's like this.

  50. And my brother, he could be kidding with me, you know, he

  51. always, you know, pick do different things, you know,

  52. brotherly things, right in one sense on the other side because

  53. the whole nation is looking for him.

  54. He's like, my gosh, man, is this true?

  55. Could this be true? And so Andrew obviously in the

  56. conversation did a little more than just say I found him, he

  57. compelled him, says come on, I'll take you to him.

  58. And so he came to Jesus, and Peter came to Jesus after he

  59. heard. That he was the Christ.

  60. That the Messiah was here, and when Jesus saw him, he said,

  61. you're Simon, but I'm going to call you Peter.

  62. And at that juncture, because again, the four Gospels don't

  63. record everything in the same order.

  64. And so a lot of times, if we don't watch out because we read

  65. Matthew first, the encounter with Jesus and Matthew looks a

  66. little different and we think this is his first encounter.

  67. However, the the John account lets us know that Peter met

  68. Jesus before Jesus found him, came to him.

  69. So first Peter heard, then Peter came and then Jesus spoke about

  70. his destiny. But Peter went home and Peter

  71. went back to work and Peter did the business of his father then

  72. in Matthew chapter 4 starting in verse 8 and said now as Jesus

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  73. was walking by the sea of Galilee.

  74. So obviously this is not the same account.

  75. This could not have been an after account.

  76. It was obviously a former account where he met him.

  77. There was a conversation, there's this passing off of John

  78. the Baptist to Jesus and Andrew, who followed John went over to

  79. Jesus and then from there went to his brother, said We found

  80. the guy. He met the guy.

  81. But their lives continue to do as they were always doing.

  82. They're aware he's there, but their actions have not changed.

  83. They've heard and they've seen. They've heard his voice, yet

  84. they're still doing the same thing.

  85. But one day Jesus in Matthew chapter 4 comes by the Sea of

    Matthew 4 chapter mention

  86. Galilee, saw two brother Simon, who was called Peter, 'cause he

  87. gave him a different name. Because you understand Andrew as

  88. the brothers like you. May Simon no more.

  89. You heard the Christ tell you, you're Peter.

  90. I'm going to call you Peter. From now on I'll only call you

  91. Peter, Right. So the names picked up and so it

  92. says. And Andrew his brother, casting

  93. Nets into the sea for they were fishermen.

  94. And he said to them, follow me and I'll make you fishers of

  95. men. And look what it says in verse

  96. 20 immediately. They left their Nets and

  97. followed him. Here Peter became a follower of

  98. Jesus. Many in the church world today

  99. are much like Peter right now. They have heard about Jesus.

  100. They've even come to him. How do you come to Jesus?

  101. Most come through the church because Jesus Christ is the head

  102. of the church. So when you come to church, you

  103. can encounter Jesus if it is the church He's building.

  104. If it is the church He's building, then you will

  105. encounter Jesus because the church and the scripture is

  106. Jesus. For in the beginning was the

  107. Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

  108. John 11 and John 114 says the Word became flesh.

  109. So when you hear the Word, the scriptures, you are hearing from

  110. Jesus, and when you come to church, the one he's building,

  111. you'll be in the presence of Jesus because he's the head of

  112. the church which is his body. So many have heard of Jesus from

  113. someone and even have been invited by that someone to come

  114. see him, just like some today are here because somebody told

  115. you about Jesus and said why don't you come to church and

  116. come see? And maybe before this thing's

  117. over you'll be a follower. I said you'll be a follower.

  118. Are you hearing me? So Peter became a follower.

  119. But it's not good enough to just be a follower because here's

  120. Peter's herd of Jesus. Peter came to Jesus, had an

  121. encounter with Jesus, but went about life like he always did.

  122. But then when God called him, I said, When God called him, he

  123. said, I'll leave everything and I'm going to follow you.

  124. And now here's the follower of Christ, the one who is going

  125. with him from town to town. Not only is he going from town

  126. to town, but he's seeing the miracles.

  127. I mean, he's seeing miracles, signs and wonders.

  128. He's seeing the dead raised, the lame walking, the lepers healed.

  129. He's seeing the blind eyes open. I mean, he's seeing miraculous

  130. things happen constantly. And there comes this time in the

  131. ministry of Jesus, for he's preaching about the Kingdom all

  132. the time. For he said the Kingdom of God

  133. is like this and the Kingdom of heaven is like that.

  134. And He's ministering along these lines.

  135. Then he would tell parables to people, but then he would look

  136. to his disciples and say to them, I'm holding back this

  137. mystery, or I'm I'm, I'm not giving them the answer to the

  138. mystery, but to you, I'm going to give you insight.

  139. I'm going to give you explanation.

  140. I'm going to give you hidden secrets that to the public I

  141. don't reveal, but to you I reveal.

  142. And so he had an in depth insight to things concerning

  143. God's Kingdom, his reign and his desire for humanity.

  144. And then we get to Matthew 16 and then Matthew 16 verses 13

    Matthew 16:13

  145. and 19. Says when Jesus came to the

  146. district of Caesarea Philippi. He was asking his disciples, who

  147. do people say that I that the Son of Man is?

  148. And they said to him, some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,

  149. but still others Jeremiah, are one of the prophets.

  150. So he goes on to verse 15 and he says, But he said to them, But

  151. who do you say that I am at this point?

  152. He wants to know your belief in me.

  153. Is it based upon what you've heard from someone else?

  154. And many people have a belief of Jesus only based upon what

  155. someone else has said to some Jesus.

  156. People have said to you that Jesus is the savior of the

  157. world, and he is, But that's all they've ever told you about

  158. Jesus. So your only thought process is

  159. about Jesus, is that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, that

  160. he will ultimately save you, that if you ask him to come into

  161. your heart when you die, you get to go to heaven.

  162. And that's all you know about Jesus.

  163. Is that the Jesus You know because of what others have

  164. said? But maybe you're one of those

  165. that say, well, you know, I've heard about Jesus this way, Then

  166. He is the one who saved us from our sin and is the lamb that was

  167. slain before the foundation of the world and paid the prize for

  168. our wrongdoing. And if you call on your His

  169. name, you would be saved. But he also undo you with power

  170. from on high and the Holy Ghost that lives in you to bear

  171. witness with you. You're a child of God.

  172. He'll also come upon you, and He'll give you power and and and

  173. and and outward evidence that you have that power is that

  174. you'll speak in the language of the Kingdom the Bible calls an

  175. unknown tongue. And you're functioning in.

  176. Is that the Jesus that you've heard?

  177. Maybe you've heard that Jesus is the healer, and that's the Jesus

  178. you've heard. But he crosses over and says,

  179. well, who do you say that I am? Because your revelation of who

  180. he is will determine what he is in your life.

  181. I said your revelation of who he is will determine who he is in

  182. your life, he said, But who do you say that I am?

  183. In verse 16 it says Simon Peter answered.

  184. Are you hearing me? Simon Peter answered.

  185. You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

  186. Hallelujah. Look what Jesus says in verse

  187. 17. He says and Jesus said to him.

  188. Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not

  189. reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven, I also

  190. say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build

  191. my church. Now just to correct the

  192. tradition and wrong theology, It is not upon Peter that the

  193. church is built. Peter is Little Rock.

  194. He says it's upon this rock. Jesus is the chief cornerstone.

  195. He said It's upon this revelation that I am the Christ,

  196. Peter that I'll build my church. Because he said who do you say

  197. that I am? Peter says you are the Christ.

  198. Upon that revelation that I'm the king, I'll build my church.

  199. Not upon the revelation I'm the Savior, but upon the revelation

  200. I'm the King. And the king did save us.

  201. Glory to God. Our king is a conquering king.

  202. Our king went down into the grave.

  203. Our king was the seed of all kings that would come after him,

  204. because unless a grain of wheat falls in the ground and dies, it

  205. remains alone. But because he was the king,

  206. God, and he sowed himself, he put himself back in the ground.

  207. It allowed him to harvest. When we come in Christ, we all

  208. become kings because he's the king of the Lord.

  209. Of Who are those kings? You are, And you're those kings

  210. now. You rule and reign today.

  211. But we're not like kings of the earth that are selfish and

  212. looking for power. We're like our king who lays

  213. down his life for others and only does the will of the

  214. Father. But we do reign.

  215. I said we do reign and we reign now and we don't have to wait

  216. till we go to heaven to get heaven's resources to show up in

  217. our lives, he said. Now when you pray, pray this

  218. way. Our Father, so many people pray

  219. this prayer, but don't get the results of the prayer.

  220. When you pray, pray this way. Our Father who art in heaven,

  221. hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be

  222. done on earth as it is. Is anyone sick in heaven?

  223. Is anyone broke in heaven? Is anyone depressed in heaven?

  224. So there's no reason for you to have it down here, because His

  225. Kingdom can come now. Physically it will manifest, but

  226. we can receive from it today. When you know who you are, when

  227. you have the revelation that Jesus is the Christ, he's the

  228. king. He's done more than just saved

  229. me. He has set me up forever.

  230. He has put me on his seat. He has caused me to reign in

  231. him. He has paid the ultimate price

  232. so I could walk in his life. And Peter says, you're the

  233. Christ. And Jesus says upon this rock,

  234. this revelation, I will build my church, and the gates of hell

  235. will not prevail against it, he said, I will give you the keys

  236. of the Kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bond on earth shall

  237. have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth

  238. shall have been loosed in heaven.

  239. He's given us keys because our Father has chosen gladly to give

  240. us the Kingdom. And we can walk into the

  241. Kingdom. We can enter the Kingdom.

  242. We can see the Kingdom the minute we're born again.

  243. Hallelujah. Because we become children of

  244. the king and we get to reign with him in this life and the

  245. one to come. Hallelujah, are you reigning?

  246. Peter has this revelation. He has this revelation that

  247. Jesus is the Christ. So Peter has heard.

  248. Peter came to Jesus. Jesus spoke to him and it

  249. didn't. It didn't change his life.

  250. It didn't make him have a course correction, although he had

  251. heard about him and even heard from him.

  252. But when Jesus said follow me, when Jesus spoke to him and said

  253. Leave what you do when you come to me, Peter dropped it all and

  254. began to follow, 'cause he believed he was the Christ.

  255. And how do you deny the king 'cause when the king commands

  256. you to come, you come. Peter laid it all down.

  257. Then he has the revelation, not because he heard what someone

  258. else was saying, but because Jesus said, My father has

  259. revealed to you who I am. You have spiritually discerned,

  260. You have revelation, knowledge. I'm the Christ you know, and I

  261. know that he knows that you know who I am.

  262. So a person can hear about Jesus, can come to Jesus, hear

  263. him speak, can ultimately follow Jesus and have the revelation

  264. that he's the king. And if he's the king, then we do

  265. what he says because his word never fails.

  266. I said never fails. I said never fails.

  267. Yet Peter, who's heard, who's come, who's following, and who

  268. has revelation, knowledge, and now that Jesus is my Father's,

  269. let you know who I am. You have insight and information

  270. and revelation that no one else in the nation knows.

  271. Of. For I've told you.

  272. The Kingdom of heaven is like and then I explained the parable

  273. and I explained it here and I explained it there and then

  274. Jesus went on. If you continue in the same

  275. chapter, it says from that time because they had.

  276. Heard. They came, they followed, and

  277. they had revelation. He began to show his disciples

  278. that I must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the

  279. elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be

  280. raised up on the third day. In fact, one scripture says he

  281. spoke to them plainly about this.

  282. That way they knew what was going to take place.

  283. In essence, he's revealing to them.

  284. And he has said before this moment because they travel with

  285. him and they're like, how do you do this?

  286. He said, Look, only whatever I'm doing, I'm only doing because

  287. the father's told me. I only do what the father says.

  288. I only submit to the will of the Father.

  289. I only do what he says. Everything you're saying if

  290. you've seen me, you've seen the Father.

  291. Because I only do what the father says.

  292. I'm submitted to him because this is how kings of the earth

  293. function, because this was God's design, Because when God first

  294. created man in his image according to his likeness, he

  295. gave them dominion. But their dominion was to be

  296. submitted to the Father who ruled in heaven, and they ruled

  297. on the earth. And I'm demonstrating to you

  298. what you lost in the garden. Because what the first Adam

  299. lost, I'm walking in now. I am the last Adam, and I'm the

  300. seed. I came from heaven, not of the

  301. earth. And I'm going to give you back

  302. what the first Adam lost. And it was the dominion for you

  303. to rule on the earth, for you to hear the voice of your king, for

  304. you to follow the voice of your Father and and act out whatever

  305. do whatever the Father says And whatever the Father says it had

  306. come to pass. And then he said, now let me

  307. tell you what the Father has said.

  308. I got to go to Jerusalem. I'm going to suffer many things

  309. by the elders and the chief priests, the scribes and they go

  310. kill me. But I'll be raised up on the

  311. third day. Verse 22.

  312. Peter. Peter Come on, say Peter.

  313. Peter. Peter who has heard.

  314. Peter who came to Jesus and heard his voice.

  315. Peter who Jesus called and told him to follow and became a

  316. follower. Peter who has revelation, he's

  317. the cry when he heard the plan of the father.

  318. Peter took Jesus aside and said rebuked him.

  319. May it never be, God forbid it. Lord, this shall never happen to

  320. you. But he turned and said to Peter,

  321. Get behind me Satan. You are stumbling block to me,

  322. for you are not setting your mind on God's interest, but

  323. man's. Here's a person who's heard a

  324. person who came, a person who's following a person who has the

  325. revelation that Jesus is the Christ.

  326. He They've made the Him Lord. They're following him.

  327. They know that He knows, and the Father knows that they know who

  328. Jesus. Is.

  329. And yet they will willfully say, I got another plan.

  330. And there are plenty of Peters in churches today who have their

  331. own plans. They have their own plans.

  332. They're all in essence, they're going to tell Peter told Jesus

  333. we're not going to do it that way.

  334. We'll do it a different way. Did Peter have some kind of

  335. revelational insight that Jesus didn't have?

  336. That Jesus later on in the garden said maybe Peter's on to

  337. something. Let me ask the father Father's

  338. there's any other way for this cup to pass?

  339. But if not, let no, Peter didn't have other revelation because he

  340. knew where Peter was talking from because he addressed the

  341. voice. Get behind me.

  342. Which tells me one who's heard, one who's come to Jesus, one

  343. who's a follower who has revelation can still have a boy

  344. a ear to the enemy when self-interest is within them.

  345. Because for some, you know why it's easy.

  346. They only show up on Easter Sunday.

  347. You know it's easy because you are following who someone's told

  348. you Jesus was, and you don't even have the revelation of it.

  349. That all you got to do is ask Jesus to come into your heart

  350. and save you. So when you die, you'll go to

  351. heaven and there's really there's nothing you can do to

  352. earn it. So there's nothing that can

  353. happen to end it. That's all you have to do.

  354. Now for those that aren't in this this situation, y'all

  355. should shout Amen to help the other ones that are struggling

  356. right now. Don't get quiet with them.

  357. Don't get quiet with them. Just go ahead and say Amen.

  358. Amen. My pastor's being pretty bold.

  359. We'll go ahead, be bold with me. OK?

  360. All right. Call we followers.

  361. We have revelation. We submit our will to His will

  362. because I don't want to be Peter.

  363. I don't want to be called of God and they question everything

  364. he's doing. I mean, I don't want to have

  365. heard him come to him, be a follower of him, giving away

  366. change my whole life just to go in a direction he's going and

  367. then have the revelation that he knows that I know that I know

  368. who he is. And then I'm going to question

  369. and everyone in the room, God has a planned purpose, a

  370. direction for your life, something that the father needs

  371. you to do and is going to say, now listen, we going to go here

  372. and you're going to hear that it's going to be uncomfortable.

  373. It's going to be a little bit of a challenge.

  374. It's going to be a situation. It's going to, there's going to

  375. be some issues. But he already warned us.

  376. He said, Now, look, in this life you're going to have what trials

  377. and tribulation. But be of what good cheer for

  378. I've overcome the world and God to tell you a plan like this.

  379. Well, you know what? Just forgive them.

  380. God forbid it that I ever forgive them for what they just

  381. did. We're telling God this.

  382. God forbid I have to go to church every time it opens.

  383. God forbid that I would have to serve the local body church.

  384. God forbid That I forgive my spouse.

  385. God forbid that I let this God forbid, that I should have to

  386. put that much time into him, God forbid.

  387. That I should have to study to make myself approved unto God,

  388. God forbid. Because a person who's heard a

  389. person who's come, a person who's followed a person who has

  390. revelation, and Jesus knows that you know that you know who he is

  391. and that he's Lord. And then he says I'm going to

  392. speak to you plainly, this is what I need you to do.

  393. And you say, God forbid, Peter had his own ideas of how to

  394. accomplish the will of God, and many believers have that still.

  395. Because the reality. Is most believers really don't

  396. want to follow Jesus, They just don't want to go to hell, just

  397. say Amen anyway. I know we're talking about

  398. people, you know, not yourself. I get it.

  399. It's all the people on YouTube right now because they're

  400. watching on YouTube because they didn't go to church.

  401. God forbid I submit to a pastor. God forbid I submit to the

  402. fivefold ministry. God forbid.

  403. I let someone hold me accountable.

  404. Because what revelation of Jesus are you serving?

  405. That's why Jesus asked the disciples.

  406. Who do you say that I am? Because your life's going to be

  407. predicated on who you think I am.

  408. But Jesus said who he was. Well, I'm not John.

  409. Although I was among him in him, I gave him his assignment.

  410. I'm not Elijah. Although I would gave him his

  411. assignment, I'm not Jeremiah, although I gave him his

  412. assignment. I'm not the prophets.

  413. That did it right. Even though I gave them the

  414. their assignment. I am the Christ.

  415. I am the one they prophesied about.

  416. I am the one they were looking for.

  417. I am Him. I am.

  418. And you know I am. And since you know I am, here's

  419. the plan. But as long as we hold our idea

  420. on how we're going to fulfill God's will, because everyone in

  421. the room is not going to be called a fivefold minister, you

  422. have to be concerned about that. It's not the issue.

  423. The issue is just do you lay yourself down daily?

  424. Do you passively pursue him and his purpose and so he can use

  425. you in the realm or the sphere of influence that you are?

  426. How are you making decisions when things happen in your life?

  427. Are you hearing his will on how to handle it?

  428. Or are you saying God forbid I say that God forbid I do that

  429. because he had a self-interest of how he would accomplish?

  430. The will of God on the night in which Jesus was betrayed, he

  431. told one disciple, go ahead and go and do what you're going to

  432. do and do it quickly. And he left.

  433. And then the rest he said, are we going to take communion?

  434. And he served them the bread, said it's in my body.

  435. Then he gave him the the drink and said this is the my blood

  436. and my cup of my covenant. And then he says to them, he

  437. said. Now listen.

  438. All y'all going to desert. Me because the scripture says

  439. they'll strike the sheep, the the shepherd and the sheep are

  440. going to scatter. And Peter was the first to

  441. answer. Ain't going to happen.

  442. Ain't going to happen. It's never going to happen.

  443. Not going to do it. I am not going to do it.

  444. I will be loyal. I am there by your side.

  445. I am there. I'm ready to die.

  446. I am ready to die. The rest of these, I mean.

  447. He pointed out his brothers, the other ten that were in the room.

  448. The rest of these, They may leave you, but not me.

  449. I'll be right there. I'll die with you before I deny

  450. you. Then Jesus says these words in

  451. Luke chapter 22, verse 31. Simon.

    Luke 22:31

  452. Simon. Behold.

  453. Why'd he call him Simon? Oh y'all.

  454. Don't want to hear this? Why has God got to speak to your

  455. old self? Because every time you want to

  456. do something your way instead of his way, he'll have to start

  457. talking to your old self. The one that's supposed to be

  458. dead, the one that's not supposed to be alive, the one

  459. that's supposed to be crucified with Christ, he said.

  460. Simon, Simon Behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you

  461. like wheat because of this issue with you in you that you want to

  462. work out the plan. You want to tell God how you

  463. going to live for him. You want to tell God, How you

  464. going to do it? How you going to serve, How you

  465. going to worship, How you going to interact with the body.

  466. How you going to interact with the world, How you going to

  467. interact, How you going to do stuff.

  468. You're going to make demands on him.

  469. You're going to tell him I'll work this, I'll do this.

  470. This is all I'll do. Anything else?

  471. Too much. I gave you.

  472. I gave you my heart. Get out of my mind.

  473. I gave you my sin. I'll keep my relationships.

  474. Hallelujah, he says some and some, and behold, Satan has

  475. demanded permission. This is a guy who has heard, who

  476. has come to Jesus, who is a follower, who has revelation.

  477. He's the Christ who knows the will of God and yet is saying

  478. you can't, God forbid, because you're there.

  479. Satan has demanded to sift you like wheat.

  480. But what's Jesus say? But I have prayed for you that

  481. your faith may not fail. That's very interesting phrase

  482. may not fail, which tells us it could.

  483. And there are some Peters that unless you respond today, your

  484. faith will probably fail because you're more convinced in prayer

  485. to try to convince God to do it your way.

  486. Then have an ear to hear his way, because you don't want to

  487. hear his way. You want him to bless your way.

  488. And so you keep coming and telling him that you want it

  489. this way and you want it this way and you want it this way.

  490. And some of you have avoided prayer because you've heard him

  491. say stuff that you don't want to hear, so you just kind of avoid

  492. it all together. But you'll still come to church.

  493. You'll still hear about Jesus, and you have revelation.

  494. He is the Christ, and he's praying for you right now that

  495. your faith may not fail. And when you win once, you have

  496. what? Which means he's turned.

  497. Peter is a person who's heard about Jesus, who's come to

  498. Jesus, who was a follower of Jesus, who has revelation.

  499. He's the Christ, and in this moment he's turned, he said.

  500. I'm praying that once you turn again, strengthen your brothers.

  501. But what does Peter say? But he said to him.

  502. In his religious response, 'cause it sure wasn't his heart,

  503. Lord, with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death.

  504. And he said to Peter, the rooster will not crow today

  505. until you have denied three times that you know me.

  506. When the rooster crows, you will have denied me three times.

  507. The one who heard about Jesus, the one who came to Jesus and

  508. heard his voice, the one who answered the voice of Jesus to

  509. come follow. The one who has revelation.

  510. He's the Christ in his most vulnerable hour.

  511. Even in the moment that he knows him, sitting at the table, given

  512. the elements to him, talking about this new covenant that's

  513. about to be enacted, he looks at him and says yourself, Interest

  514. is so bad that Satan has demanded to sift you and it

  515. can't stop it from happening because yourself will to do my

  516. will is is at odds with each other.

  517. It's it's at such odds. Yet I'm praying for you and it's

  518. at such odds that you're ready to deny me and you'll do a three

  519. times 'cause when the rooster crows, You gonna know then?

  520. Jesus says to them in Luke 22, starting in verse 35, 'cause

  521. he's some troubles coming and he knows it.

  522. And he says to them now, when you when I sent you out without

  523. money belts and bags and sandals, did you lack anything?

  524. They said, did you not lack anything?

  525. Did you? And they said no, nothing, he

  526. said. And then he said to them, But

  527. now say now. Whoever has a money belt is to

  528. take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is

  529. to sell his coat. And buy one.

  530. For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in

  531. Me, and he was numbered with the transgression, for that which

  532. refers to me has its fulfillment.

  533. They said, Lord, look, here are two swords.

  534. And he said, it is enough. Jesus told him to get the

  535. swords. But the swords were not for

  536. Jesus. It was for them.

  537. It was for their own self-defense because of what's

  538. about to take place, because of the scattering.

  539. But Peter, Oh, but Peter. So he states they've got the

  540. source. He takes his disciples to the

  541. guard, he said. Now Peter, John, James, y'all

  542. come with me. Y'all, pray.

  543. Pray. He goes off and begins to pray.

  544. Father, if there's any other way for this cup to pass, let it

  545. pass. But if not, not my will.

  546. But your will be done. He comes back and what's

  547. happening? People who want to do God's will

  548. their way sleep. People who want to do God's will

  549. their way sleeps. He kicks them, so to speak, and

  550. says, what are you doing? Get up.

  551. How come you're not praying? Staying attentive, I mean, you

  552. have no idea what's going down. No wonder you're going to be

  553. scattered, he said. For the spirit is willing, but

  554. the flesh is weak. Don't yield to the flesh.

  555. One moment. And when they had an opportunity

  556. to perform differently because they did not recognize the will

  557. of the Father, they slept. We start our prayer and fasting

  558. tomorrow. Tomorrow, 6:00 PM right here for

  559. the next seven days before our celebration of 20 years.

  560. Monday through Sunday, we're going to be in Fasting Fast Ends

  561. After Service on Sunday, the Spirit's willing.

  562. Let's see how strong your flesh is because I'll see if I see you

  563. here on Sunday tomorrow at 6:00 PM.

  564. While he was speaking Judas, one of the 12 came.

  565. This is after the garden because a mob shown up a large crowd

  566. with swords and clubs came from the chief priests and elders of

  567. the people. Now he who was betraying him

  568. gave them a sign saying whomever I kiss he is, the one sees him

  569. immediately. Jesus went Judas, went to Jesus,

  570. said hell rabbi and kissed him. Man, what a religious word hell

  571. teacher. He's not Lord in Judas's life

  572. anymore. And Jesus said friend.

  573. Do what you have come for. And they came and laid hands on

  574. Jesus, and sees him. Behold one of those say, one of

  575. those say it was you, not me. All right.

  576. One of those who were with Jesus reached out, drew his sword, and

  577. struck the the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear.

  578. When Jesus said, Jesus said to him, put your sword back in its

  579. place. Now who was this?

  580. Who was this? The one who heard about Jesus.

  581. The one who came to Jesus and heard Jesus's voice?

  582. The one who heard the voice of Jesus to follow him.

  583. The one who had revelation. He's the Christ.

  584. The one that the revelator said. This is how it's going to go

  585. down, and I'm doing it to fulfill scripture.

  586. Yet Peter still. Wants to take God's will into

  587. his own hands. Peter was constantly overwhelmed

  588. by the emotions led by those he could not control them.

  589. Became the decision making factor of his life during Jesus

  590. time on the planet prior to his death, burial and resurrection.

  591. Peter was making decisions based upon emotions, based upon things

  592. that were uncomfortable for him. He didn't want it to be uncom.

  593. He didn't want to lose Jesus. He didn't want to be without

  594. him. These were selfish decisions.

  595. He was only trying to help himself.

  596. So he's going to show the king I got you.

  597. I told you I'm ready to die for you.

  598. But Jesus says this concerning his thinking.

  599. He says to him, put your sword back in its place.

  600. For all those who what take up the sword shall What if you keep

  601. trying to do the will of the Father your way?

  602. You gonna die that way? But he goes on.

  603. He says, Do you not? Do you think that I cannot

  604. appeal to my Father and he will at once put at my disposal?

  605. More than 12 legions of angels. What, what?

  606. What now? This is a very perplexing

  607. question or statement he makes in the form of a question he

  608. just came out of the guard and praying.

  609. If there's any other way, let this cup pass.

  610. But if not now, he's telling Peter in this moment, do you

  611. not? Do you think that I cannot

  612. appeal to my father? And he will?

  613. What at once put where at my disposal more than a Legion 12

  614. Legion of Angels? Is there somewhere in Jesus that

  615. he could have convinced his father let humanity go?

  616. I'm not saying he could, but there's something about this

  617. statement that's pretty perplexing.

  618. Yet he sold to the will, he says.

  619. How then will the scripture be fulfilled which says it must

  620. happen this way? And if we remain Peters, who

  621. heard about Jesus, who came to him, and heard him, who heard

  622. him call and say follow, who has revelation, He's the Christ.

  623. Why do we think we can go against his will for our lives?

  624. And he's OK with it? Because if the Jesus you're

  625. serving is the one who died on the cross and rose from the

  626. grave so that when you die you go to heaven so that you can

  627. live any way you want to on the planet because he really doesn't

  628. care, Well, that's not the Jesus of the Bible.

  629. That's what Paul said is a different Jesus.

  630. That's not my king. My king says I will fulfill the

  631. word and be fully submitted to it.

  632. And you know what? Word.

  633. He was fulfilling every scripture that was written about

  634. him. So if Jesus had to yield to

  635. everything God said about him, why do you not have to?

  636. And the minute we want to, God forbid, the will of God, then

  637. the king who's seated at the right hand of the Father is

  638. saying, get thee behind me, Satan.

  639. In essence, he's trying to get you to recognize, quit taking

  640. that thought. That thought brings death.

  641. That thought will kill you. That thought is not my best.

  642. That thought is not where I want you to go.

  643. That thought, I'm praying that you will get rid of that

  644. thought, get back in the will, he said.

  645. I'm praying for your faith. Faith comes by hearing and

  646. hearing from the word of God. I'm praying, Peter, that you

  647. will yield to my word and believe it.

  648. So in your life, it's when I'm praying and when you decide I

  649. will do your word no matter what, then go strengthen your

  650. brothers. Because as I am, so are we in

  651. the earth. Matthew 26 starting in verse 57.

  652. Y'all doing all right. And those who had seized Jesus

  653. led him away to the high priest, where the scribes and the elders

  654. were gathered together. But Peter say Peter was

  655. following him at a distance as far as the courtyard of the high

  656. priest and entered in and sat down with the officers to see

  657. the outcome. Now the chief priests and the

  658. whole council kept trying to obtain fault false testimony

  659. against Jesus so that they might what?

  660. Put him to death? Boy, the religion wants to kill

  661. the king. Religion wants to kill the king.

  662. Religion wants you to think he's only a savior.

  663. Religion only wants you to think that all he can do for you is

  664. save you from hell. Religion wants you to think that

  665. you're a sorry center. You're no good.

  666. And even once you're born again under grace, you're still a

  667. sorry center and can't do nothing and never do nothing and

  668. always be pursued by the enemy. And you'll really never amount

  669. and just be glad that you getting in, because that's

  670. that's all he's done. Religion wants to kill the king.

  671. Religion always wants to sell you short of your identity of

  672. who you are in Christ, of your sonship, of who you are.

  673. Religion always wants to kill the king.

  674. Now the chief priests, they were trying to put him to death,

  675. verse 60, and they did not find any even though many false

  676. witnesses came forth. But later on two came forward

  677. and said This man stated, I am able to destroy the temple of

  678. God and to rebuild it in three days.

  679. The high priest stood up and said to him, Do you not answer

  680. what is this that these men are testifying against you?

  681. But Jesus kept silent, and the high Priest said to him, I

  682. assure you. By the living God that you tell

  683. us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.

  684. And Jesus said to him, you've said it yourself.

  685. None the less I tell you, After you will see the Son of Man

  686. sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds

  687. of heaven. Hallelujah.

  688. You'll see. You know what that tells me?

  689. You know what that tells me? That tells me that all those

  690. when Jesus left the planet, they saw him go.

  691. Up. They saw the first ascension of

  692. Jesus. They saw it when the disciples

  693. were watching him in Acts chapter one when he left.

  694. Guess who else saw him? Don't.

  695. Know. Then the high priest Torres

  696. Robus said he is blasphemy. What furthermore further need do

  697. we have of witnesses? Behold, you have heard the

  698. blasphemy. What do you think?

  699. And they answered, he deserves death.

  700. Then they spat in his face, beating with his fists, and

  701. others slapped him and said prophesied to us.

  702. You cries you king, Who is the one who hit you?

  703. And guess who's watching the whole thing?

  704. Watching them rail accusations at him, talk bad about him

  705. running down character assassination, talk gossip, lie,

  706. cheat about the whole guy. Then when he testifies of

  707. himself a good report of exactly who the father said he is for

  708. this and my beloved son, in whom I'm well pleased.

  709. Then they begin to beat him in the face, spit on him, slap at

  710. him, and all the while Peter. Who heard about Jesus?

  711. Who came to him and heard his voice?

  712. Who heard his voice call him to follow?

  713. Who had revelation? He's the Christ.

  714. Boy. There's many people in sitting

  715. in churches all over the place saying, oh, I love my Jesus.

  716. Yeah, you love him so much you can't hardly come to church.

  717. Love him so much you can't hardly read the Bible.

  718. Love him so much you can't come to corporate prayer.

  719. 'Cause those sacrifices are way too much.

  720. In fact, Jesus should just be thankful that you asked him to

  721. be their Lord. My God.

  722. Man, what? Mamby, Pamby.

  723. Christianity. There is out there, right?

  724. Not with my king. Watching the whole thing, Peter

  725. watching the whole thing. Oh, it's easy to say You'll do a

  726. lot for Jesus. I mean, we can't even do it in

  727. air conditioned environment. Can't even do an air conditioned

  728. environment. I mean, there's already one who

  729. has the ability to dictate your life called your work.

  730. Yet if you are the one who reigns, why is your employment

  731. dictating when you get to come to church?

  732. And if you're self-employed, how is it that you can't rain enough

  733. to know Wednesday nights, my night to go to service and I

  734. refuse to let myself go any further?

  735. That would hinder my ability to come our own Sunday, for that

  736. matter, I understand there can be isolated incidences.

  737. I don't have a problem with that.

  738. Because you know what? Anyone can sin and mess up and

  739. blow it. Jesus reprimands the one who

  740. practices. You've got to ask yourself the

  741. question, how committed and how many times are you?

  742. I mean how much is it? Like very rarely do you miss

  743. prayer, the word, attending church, serving in the local

  744. body? I mean passionate about the

  745. things of God? Or is it 5050 'cause I know in

  746. the room? You heard, you came, you

  747. followed, you have revelation, Pete.

  748. You've seen the miracle signs and wonders.

  749. You've even done it with your own hands.

  750. Just like Peter, I want you to go ahead of me and I want you to

  751. do this and say the Kingdom of God's at hand.

  752. And they came back rejoicing, saying even the demons are

  753. subject to us in your name. And Peter worked miracles too

  754. and now he's watching his king that just a few moments ago,

  755. before he was sleeping in the garden and got a little nap, was

  756. saying I'll die with you. But yet at the barrage of all

  757. that's going on because of self will to do his will, he's

  758. paralyzed. Now Peter was sitting us outside

  759. in the courtyard and a servant girl came to him and said you

  760. two were with Jesus. But he say it, say it, say it.

  761. He denied it before them all, saying I do not know what you're

  762. talking about. When he had gone out to the

  763. gateway, another servant girl saw him and said to those who

  764. were there, this man was with Jesus of Nazareth and again he

  765. come on, say it, denied it with an oath.

  766. I swear I do not know this man. I swear I don't.

  767. I don't know him. A little later the bystander

  768. came up, said to Peter Shirley. You two are the are one of them,

  769. for even the way you talk gives you away.

  770. And he began to what? He jumped back into Simon fast.

  771. He remembered his roots of a sailor, a fisherman out on the

  772. boat, and began to start cussing F no, I don't know him.

  773. You're full of ass. I'm not going.

  774. To say stuff like that, you know, preachers get up and say

  775. it to try to shock people, and that's just stupidity.

  776. He began to curse and swear. I don't know the man, and

  777. immediately a rooster crowed. But I love.

  778. Just so you'll know the Luke account that after this

  779. immediate in Luke chapter 22, when that rooster crow look what

    Luke 22 chapter mention

  780. it says in Luke chapter 22 verses 61 to 62, look what it

    Luke 22:61–62

  781. says. The Lord turned.

  782. The Lord? Who hits you?

  783. Who hits you? Who hits you?

  784. Who hits you? Come on, get a robe.

  785. Put it on him. Give me that crown.

  786. Get it on his head. Yeah, come on.

  787. Blood pouring out of his face. Crown turned and looked at

  788. Peter. The one who heard, the one who

  789. came, the one who followed, the one who had the revelation that

  790. he was a Christ. You think you're safe?

  791. We think that's because of the world.

  792. His own disciples betrayed him once.

  793. Who walked with him? Had church three years with him.

  794. Three years of church greatest revival known to man.

  795. The greatest revival known to man.

  796. But I hear the justifiers right now in the Spirit.

  797. Yeah, but Peter wasn't born again.

  798. You're right, he wasn't. But why don't you read about

  799. Dimas? Why don't you read about the

  800. Church of Laodicea? Plenty of examples.

  801. Plenty of examples of those in the New Covenant born again.

  802. In fact, why don't you read Hebrews chapter 6 for those

    Hebrews 6 chapter mention

  803. who've experienced 5 things with the Lord, if they turn away,

  804. can't even be renewed to repentance because nowhere in

  805. the Bible says once you're saved you're always and to Jesus is.

  806. One of his most trusted. His blood, his face is swelling,

  807. looks at him. I just want you to know that

  808. Jesus is looking at you this morning.

  809. And Peter remember the words of the Lord and how he had told him

  810. before? The rooster crowed.

  811. Today yielded on me three times, and he went out and wept

  812. bitterly in John Chapter 19. As Peter had run away, he had

    John 19 chapter mention

  813. taken sides with his nation. Although he was not there at

  814. this particular moment, his absence had demonstrated his

  815. position because he was a Jew too.

  816. And when they were accusing him and wanted to kill him and are

  817. crying out, crucify him and are beating on him.

  818. And the beatings didn't stop at that meeting.

  819. They just got worse because they took him over to the Romans And

  820. Pilate honestly only scourged him because he wanted him to

  821. look so bad that it would cause compassion to show up in the

  822. religious. He said we'll.

  823. Scourging. And then I'll put him in front

  824. of him. Surely this religious bunch will

  825. feel so bad for their own because there ain't nothing

  826. wrong with this guy. And so with the whip, they

  827. ripped his flesh out of his back, sides face.

  828. Rick Renner's account of scourging is that as the blood

  829. is pouring off your back, as you're tied to a post where your

  830. back's open, they strap you around a a, a post down low like

  831. this, right. You're on your knees and they're

  832. and they're in a pit. And as they're striking you and

  833. ripping the flesh out up, every time, it grabs, you know, and

  834. pulls the flesh out that the the, the sunk place you're in is

  835. filling with your blood. They'll throw salt in it and

  836. then they'll come and pull that blood with salt in it and throw

  837. it into your back. The reason why they do that is

  838. it helps get your blood to coagulate so that you won't die

  839. from just bleeding out. And then they bring him in this

  840. condition in front of his own people.

  841. And he said, Now the day of preparation of the Passover was

  842. the six hour John, 1914 and 15. He said to the Jews, Behold your

  843. king. And they cried out, away with

  844. him, away with him, Crucify him, Pilate said to them, Shall I

  845. crucify your king? And look what the chief priests

  846. answered. We have no king but Caesar.

  847. And there's more believers today in the United States for sure

  848. that have heard of Jesus. They've come to him with

  849. somebody, and they came to church.

  850. Then he called out their name and they followed him.

  851. Then they developed the revelation that he was the

  852. Christ, yet they still let the world be their.

  853. King. Where were you Sunday?

  854. Had to work. Where were you?

  855. It's Wednesday. You know what?

  856. It was a long day. How come you're not so well?

  857. You know, I'm kind of tired. Got to have my own family time.

  858. When your family's going to fall apart If you're not in church, I

  859. guess you're going to work your family your way instead of God's

  860. way. I guess you're going to work

  861. your promotion your way instead of God's way.

  862. I guess you're just going to go ahead and navigate through life

  863. because you really have another king.

  864. It's called the world's way of living.

  865. And then you want me to be compassionate and side and

  866. merciful and just say, oh, it's OK Well, you know what?

  867. You can do what you want to do. Come on, come on.

  868. And keep denying your service to the Lord.

  869. Because I can tell you right now, there's a lot of churches

  870. in our county right now preaching about Jesus dying and

  871. being raised from the dead and that you should call on him and

  872. you should. But you should call on him to be

  873. your king. And you need to forsake the king

  874. of this world. Because let me tell you who your

  875. king is after all this. And Peter has sided with this.

  876. Matthew John, chapter 21. Jesus dies, risen from the dead,

    John 21 chapter mention

  877. comes out, a woman shows up not there, runs back, says Jesus is

  878. gone. Someone's taking them.

  879. They're like freaking out. What?

  880. He only said he'd be raised on 3rd day, right?

  881. OK, they run back. Peter was one that ran, walked

  882. in there, looks gone. One of them out ran him, got

  883. there first. They're like, perplexed.

  884. The woman who told them came back with them perplexed.

  885. She's crying, they leave. She's crying just in.

  886. Just she's distraught and all of a sudden what she thought was a

  887. gardener shows up and she's begging the gardener.

  888. At least she thinks he is. Where's his body?

  889. Just tell us. And then he says Mary, not his

  890. Mama, the one who cast 7 demons out of He revealed his

  891. resurrection first to a woman, just like he revealed he was the

  892. Christ first to a woman. He said Mary, and she knew he

  893. was the Christ. He said go back, tell the

  894. disciples I'm alive, and make sure you tell Peter.

  895. He shows up. They seem.

  896. They're in awe. I mean, they can't even hardly

  897. fathom it. Peter sees him, but he's

  898. perplexed because every time he sees his king, he knows he

  899. denied him. So he goes back to work.

  900. He's heard. He came and heard him, he heard

  901. his voice to follow, and he followed.

  902. He has revelation. He's the Christ.

  903. And now he's back on a boat. And the Lord in his resurrection

  904. says, did you catch anything, boys?

  905. No, throw your net on the other side.

  906. And they did. And just like a former time, the

  907. fish started coming and John said it's the Lord.

  908. And Peter covered himself, comes to shore.

  909. Jesus has already started breakfast, and as they're

  910. sitting down after they eat breakfast, he leans over to

  911. Peter in John, 2115 to 19. Look what he says now, he says,

  912. Simon, Peter Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?

  913. And he said to him, Yes, Lord, you know that I love you, but

  914. look what Jesus says. Why does Jesus say this?

  915. Because in John 1415 he's already told him if you love me,

  916. you'll keep my commandments, says Simon, son of John, Do you

  917. love me more than Jesus says? You know that I love you, you

  918. said to him. Tend my Lambs.

  919. Second time, he says. Simon, son of John, do you love

  920. me? And he says, yes, Lord, you know

  921. that I love you. And he said to him, shepherd my

  922. sheep, you're going to tell him, my lambs, because the kingdom's

  923. here, the church is coming. There's a whole bunch of people

  924. coming into the Kingdom. I need you to care for them.

  925. But it doesn't stop there. You're going to have to oversee

  926. their lives as they mature. This is a lifelong call and I'm

  927. bringing you to. I need you to obey what I'm

  928. saying. The third time you said, Simon,

  929. do you love me? And Peter was grieved because he

  930. said it the third time, Do you love me?

  931. And he said, Lord, you know all things, you know that I love

  932. you. And he said, 10 my sheep,

  933. Because even as they mature in my body, they're always going to

  934. need someone to care for, he said, Truly, truly, I say to

  935. you, say when you were younger, you used to gird yourself

  936. wherever you wished, wherever you want, wherever you wished.

  937. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hand and

  938. someone else will gird you and bring you where you do not wish

  939. to go. Look what it says verse 19.

  940. Now he said these things signifying what kind of death he

  941. would glorify God. In essence, Peter will come to a

  942. moment that he always had a self will to do the will of God.

  943. But there'll be another time where he will not want to do

  944. this, but not my will. His will be done and Peter will

  945. be crucified, but he'll say don't put me on that cross like

  946. my savior turn me upside down. And when he had spoken this,

  947. look what Jesus says to him. Follow me.
