  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. This is one of our Saints at

  4. Anchor Faith Church always advancing.

  5. So one of the sayings we have in Anchor Faith Church is we're

  6. always advancing. You know, God is a God of

  7. increase. We serve a great God who wants

  8. to do great things through his great people.

  9. We serve a great God who desires to do great things through his

  10. great redeemed people. We serve a great, large,

  11. magnificent God who wants to do great things or great works

  12. through his great people. That's you.

  13. Say, that's me. Say I'm a child of God.

  14. Say I'm in the Kingdom and the Kingdom's in me and God wants to

  15. do great things through me. That's going to take increase

  16. though, and advancement. And God, you know, God is not

  17. stationary, He's not static. We serve a dynamic God with a

  18. song we sung. He's always working, He's always

  19. moving, He's always advancing. We could say it that way.

  20. Now, advancing means this. It means to accelerate, to make

  21. progress, to grow, and to move forward and rise.

  22. And when we say always, that means you're perpetually an

  23. ongoing advancing. So advance means to accelerate,

  24. make progress, to grow, to move forward, and to rise.

  25. And this is the will of the Father in your life.

  26. He wants to see acceleration in your life.

  27. He wants to see progress in your life.

  28. He wants to see you grow. He wants to see you move

  29. forward, and he wants to see you rise.

  30. This is the will of God for you is to always advance.

  31. Now there is a hindrance to advancement.

  32. Matter of fact, the greatest hindrance to advancement is a

  33. thing called pride. The greatest hindrance to

  34. advancement is pride. And I'll say this, don't take

  35. credit for advancement. All the glory goes to God.

  36. We never take credit for advancement.

  37. It's God's will, but ultimately all the glory goes to God.

  38. Deuteronomy chapter 8 is a delicious chapter.

    Deuteronomy 8 chapter mention

  39. I want to take one verse, but if you read that one of the themes

  40. in Deuteronomy 8 is don't forget, don't forget, don't

  41. forget. We could say this way in the

  42. positive, remember, recall, bring to mind what God has done

  43. for you. I can, I can think back to when

  44. my journey started in 1997 when I gave my life to the Lord of

  45. many great things that God has done.

  46. I can recall to remembrance a testimony.

  47. Testimony is what God has done in my life, and we want to

  48. remember those things. God has done some great things

  49. in my life personally, but it's not me.

  50. It's Him and His Word and His anointing working through me.

  51. It's me working out the principles and the keys to the

  52. Kingdom consistently that manifests results.

  53. But it's all the glory to God. And pride will keep you from

  54. advancing. So the opposite of pride is

  55. humility. Matter of fact, the Bible gives

  56. a promise. It says if you humble yourself,

  57. and there's two ways you can have humility.

  58. One, you can humble yourself, or secondly, God can humble you.

  59. Either way you're going to be humbled.

  60. But it says that before a fall is pride, but before it a

  61. promotion or increase is humility.

  62. So we need to remain teachable. We need to remain teachable.

  63. Isaiah the prophet said it this way.

  64. He said that God is the Potter and we are the clay and an

  65. unteachable person, and we are called to be disciples, which

  66. means we need instruction. A disciple desires to be taught.

  67. And Isaiah said this. He's the Potter.

  68. We're the clay, which means we need to have humility in order

  69. for God to shape us and instruct us.

  70. I'll say this way, you can't mold dry clay.

  71. And a proud person thinks they know it all and therefore God

  72. can't shape or mold their life 'cause there's no water, there's

  73. no humility in their life to be shaped, to be molded by God.

  74. Learning is a lifelong process. We are enrolled in the Kingdom

  75. educational system. It didn't say you're going to be

  76. a disciple for one year, five years, 10 years.

  77. You were called to be a disciple for life.

  78. So we're in a if you always want to advance, then you always need

  79. to want to be taught. Matter of fact, the Holy Spirit

  80. is called the one of his characteristics is called the

  81. teacher. He brings to remembrance the

  82. word of God to us. And why 'cause God so loves you

  83. that He's got a great life for you and wants great things for

  84. you, but you have to follow His instructions in His plan.

  85. If you don't follow his instructions in His plan, you're

  86. going to have an unblessed, we'll say this way, cursed life

  87. outside of the purpose, plan and pursuit of God, what He has for

  88. you. So I'll say this, it's what you

  89. learn after you know everything that counts.

  90. And to learn you must want to be taught.

  91. Do you want to be taught tonight?

  92. I'll say some scriptures that you may have heard several

  93. times, but are you listening like it's the first time?

  94. Are you hungry? Are you ready to receive and get

  95. everything that God has for you in this service?

  96. It's not up to me. It's up to you to draw on and

  97. receive from the Word of God tonight and the anointing of God

  98. tonight. God will meet every need in your

  99. life if you listen and obey. And God has some things to

  100. instruct us in tonight. So to learn you must want to be

  101. taught. And to be taught you have to

  102. admit that you don't know it all and everything you know you've

  103. been taught, but you've not been taught everything.

  104. So we're in a perpetual state of always learning and growing.

  105. If we're always going to be advancing in the Kingdom of God

  106. and God wants to increase us. God desires to take us like it

  107. says in Romans 117, from faith to faith.

  108. In in 2nd Corinthians 3, it says He wants to take us from glory

  109. to glory. So God has great things in store

  110. for us, but we need to make sure we strip away pride, stay humble

  111. and hungry and say, God, I'm a clean slate today.

  112. Download, impart, instruct. I will listen, I will obey

  113. because I know your plan is the best plan.

  114. Your commandments are the best way, the best life.

  115. And I want to, I want to do what this vision says, ignite this

  116. city, impact the nation and influence the world.

  117. And in order to do that, I need some instruction.

  118. Father, I need your word in my life.

  119. So I'm hungry to learn. And the other thing, don't let

  120. let the past hinder your advancement.

  121. Any failures, any disappointments, any setbacks,

  122. any circumstances, Don't let that.

  123. Don't let that dictate or dominate.

  124. Right now. It's in your power of choice to

  125. say, listen, maybe you blew it, maybe you messed up.

  126. There's a there's a word in the Kingdom though.

  127. It's called repentance, and thank God, a real man and a real

  128. woman of God is going to take personal responsibility if they

  129. miss the mark. God has a solution.

  130. It's called repentance and a real man, a real woman is going

  131. to respond to that truth and say, Father, I missed it.

  132. I ask for your forgiveness. And I want to move forward.

  133. I want to grow, I want to make progress.

  134. So forgive me of that. Unforgiveness will hinder your

  135. advancement if you choose not to forgive.

  136. And there's 3 dimensions of forgiveness.

  137. Number one, you need to ask God to forgive you.

  138. You know there's sins of Commission, meaning sins that

  139. you commit. Easy, right?

  140. Adultery could be a sin of Commission, murder, right?

  141. Theft. But then there's sins of

  142. omission. You know what to do, but you

  143. don't do it like worry. Hello, that's a sin.

  144. Are you with me? Anxiety that can hinder

  145. advancement. And you got to look at that as a

  146. sin just as much as you would murder or adultery and say,

  147. Lord, you don't want that in my life.

  148. Isaiah 26 three says perfect peace will he give whose mind is

  149. stayed on him. Philippians chapter 4 verse #6

    Philippians 4 chapter mention

  150. says be anxious about some things.

  151. I'm just seeing if you're paying attention.

  152. It says be anxious about nothing.

  153. I like the amplified says don't worry, don't fret, right?

  154. I can meddle in the marriage covenant right now on the sins

  155. of omission. Like men doing the dishes,

  156. Hallelujah, you can say Amen O me.

  157. Vacuum in a rug, men. Hallelujah, folding the laundry.

  158. How sexy is that? Hallelujah.

  159. Well, I'm not committing adultery on my wife yet, but

  160. what are you omitting if he wants your marriage to increase

  161. and progress and grow? So repentance is pivotal in the

  162. Kingdom of God. The Bible's a wonderful book, 66

  163. books of just Power Pack truth that'll transform a life and

  164. hook you up with your destiny and always keep you advancing.

  165. I love Genesis 'cause it shows the birth of a nation.

  166. Exodus shows the deliverance of a nation.

  167. Leviticus shows the sanctification of a nation.

  168. Number shows the journeys and we're on a journey.

  169. He that began a good work in you once to complete it.

  170. There's a purpose and an assignment and number shows us

  171. the journeys of the nation. Deuteronomy, which I quoted

  172. chapter 8. I want to give you one verse out

  173. of that in just a second, but that's a retelling of the law.

  174. That's instructions. If you read Deuteronomy, do the

  175. book of Deuteronomy, it's a retelling because we don't get

  176. everything the first time. We do not get everything the

  177. first time. That's why you taking notes and

  178. reviewing is so pivotal to your growth and advancement because

  179. it'll help you retain and remember what was instructed.

  180. But then I love the book of Joshua 'cause that's the

  181. possession of a promised life. So the Bible was wonderful.

  182. We see the children of God in Exodus in a land called Egypt.

  183. Now, Egypt is a typology for us today, which means this.

  184. It's a land of bondage where Pharaoh was king and the

  185. children of Israel were in bondage.

  186. And you realize there's some believers that have made

  187. covenant with God, but the devil still has rule in their life.

  188. Whether it's sins of Commission or omission, there's still some

  189. kind of bondage. And I got good news for you

  190. tonight. God wants to set you free.

  191. God wants you delivered. God doesn't want you in a vice

  192. grip, or in shackles or in chains.

  193. God's will is for you to be free, unhindered, unfettered,

  194. Unchained, to run with the purpose.

  195. Hebrews chapter 12 says it this way.

    Hebrews 12 chapter mention

  196. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

  197. stripping off any weight or sin that so easily besets us.

  198. And you know what? In Egypt, that's a land of not

  199. enough, and that's not advancement.

  200. When you don't have enough, guess what?

  201. You can't do anything. You may want to give, but you

  202. can't give. You may want to pray for healing

  203. for somebody, but you may not feel worthy because you're

  204. barely healed. God does not want you there.

  205. So what's he do? He takes him out of Egypt

  206. through the man Moses who brings deliverance.

  207. He said, I'm taking you out to bring you into a land.

  208. So he takes him out of Egypt. And they go through a place

  209. called the wilderness. So they get delivered from

  210. Pharaoh and his rule from the House of bondage, but they're in

  211. the wilderness. And Deuteronomy 8 talks about

  212. the wilderness. He said, I LED you through the

  213. wilderness to test you read the whole chapter, Deuteronomy

    Deuteronomy 8 chapter mention

  214. chapter 8. I'll give you verse 18 right now

  215. because I want to key in on that with what God has assigned for

  216. us tonight. Deuteronomy 818 says this.

  217. And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives

  218. you the power to get wealth. Hallelujah that He may establish

  219. His covenant, which He swore to your Father's.

  220. As it is this day. Now, I got downright ticked off

  221. yesterday. I did 'cause I believe the

  222. Bible. Do you believe the Word?

  223. So I'm read in Deuteronomy 28. First of all, I don't.

  224. The curses outweigh the blessing.

  225. That bugs me, but I'm reading things in Deuteronomy chapter 28

    Deuteronomy 28 chapter mention

  226. and talking with people and counseling with people.

  227. I thought, Lord, there's more, there's more.

  228. I read this verse. It said that the children of

  229. Israel shall be the lender and not the borrower.

  230. I said, Lord, why are Christians?

  231. Why are we not there? Your word says it.

  232. What are we not connecting? What are we ignorant of?

  233. What are we too prideful about? What are we too worldly minded

  234. in that we're not functioning in this.

  235. There's many other things in there I thought, and some of

  236. these things I I could say, Lord, this is in my life.

  237. Glory to God, your word is true. And some things I'm like, OK,

  238. I'm not there yet, but I want to advance to that Lord, I want to

  239. be in a place in a position that I could lend and I want to do it

  240. your way. I was reading last week that the

  241. children of Israel, they, they had a, a borrowing law or a

  242. lending law which says you could borrow to, you could lend to

  243. fellow Israelites and not charge them interest.

  244. Now, if it's a foreigner, guess what?

  245. Those outside of covenant, go ahead and make some money off

  246. that. Charge him 8%.

  247. God's got a wonderful economic plan.

  248. Hallelujah. So in Deuteronomy though, he

  249. says, I brought you through the wilderness.

  250. The wilderness has landed just enough.

  251. You are barely getting by. Listen, this life is a journey.

  252. I I guarantee you this cause the word of God does not fail, it

  253. does not return void. It always accomplishes what he,

  254. he said. Now we live in a microwave

  255. society. We live in A10 items or less

  256. matter of fact, it's worse than 10 items or less.

  257. Now it's Instacart, it's Grubhub, it's DoorDash, right?

  258. Don't let the world intermix with the culture of the Kingdom.

  259. Don't let the world intermix with the culture of the Kingdom.

  260. There's a thing called faith and patience in the Bible.

  261. I remember when Angie and I had our two sons in the house.

  262. We were in the wilderness financially.

  263. Lord, I've repented of this, 'cause this was a, you know,

  264. ignorance will kill you. But I remember going to

  265. McDonald's. Now, those that are still eating

  266. there, I'm not judging you. I just have a conviction if a

  267. fry has a shelf life of 15 years because it's under your seat

  268. that you dropped, It's been sitting there and it still looks

  269. golden brown. I remember they used to, they

  270. probably don't have this anymore.

  271. We used to go through. Then they had the dollar menu.

  272. Do you remember that? So we tell Mike and Jacob guests

  273. we were so tight. We said you guys get four things

  274. off of that dollar menu. So it's usually like an apple

  275. pie, 2 cheeseburgers and a fry. Hallelujah that that was just

  276. enough. For $8 we could feed those boys,

  277. but it was just enough. I mean, we weren't going to

  278. Longhorns and we surely weren't going to Ruth's Chris 'cause we

  279. had just enough. But guess what?

  280. We keep working the principles which I'm going to give you.

  281. We kept on applying it, and God has brought us into a land of

  282. more than enough. So the wilderness is just

  283. enough. But God wants to bring every

  284. believer to the land called Canaan land.

  285. Canaan land is still a reality in the New Testament.

  286. You can read 1st Corinthians 10. It says everything in the Old

  287. Testament was an end sample or an example for us.

  288. So they literally live this out. But there's also things we can

  289. learn from their journey there. Listen, I said pride will get in

  290. the way of advancement and we want to be taught.

  291. There are things that we can learn from them so we can

  292. continue to advance. And God, God said, I want to

  293. bring you out to bring you in. Well, here's the sad indictment.

  294. Do you realize that even though God wanted to do that, many of

  295. them died in the wilderness. And I, I know this God's heart

  296. tonight for you as I'm instructing you is not for you

  297. to die in the wilderness. God has greater things in store

  298. for you than that. But even though God has that in

  299. store, guess what? People are still going to make

  300. choices, and those choices are going to have consequences

  301. whether you're going to have God's best or whether you're

  302. going to be mediocre or whether you live in failure.

  303. God's no respecter of persons. He's got great, great store,

  304. great things in store for everybody in this sanctuary

  305. tonight, but it's up for you to submit and commit to him and

  306. continue to grow and take this journey seriously.

  307. The Canaan land is a land of more than enough.

  308. John 1010 really is the reality of Canaan land as Jesus quotes

  309. it. He said I came to give you life

  310. and to give it to you more abundantly.

  311. I came to give you life and to give it to you more abundantly.

  312. One translation says I came to give you a rich and a satisfying

  313. life. Now I had the media team put

  314. this up. There's a thread what I mean

  315. scriptures that you can track of this land that God started

  316. talking about. So Genesis 12 chapter one, you

  317. can write this down. I'm not going to read everyone,

  318. but God starts talking about Abraham, about the land in

  319. Genesis chapter 12. You'll see it in Genesis 1315.

    Genesis 12 chapter mention

  320. You'll see it in Genesis 15, seven.

  321. You'll see it in Genesis 5024, you'll see it in Exodus 68.

  322. And then you'll I like Leviticus chapter 2024 because God goes

  323. into more description about this land and I'll read Leviticus

  324. 2024. It says this, but I have said to

  325. you, you shall not inherit the land.

  326. You shout in here at the land. I will give it to you to

  327. possess. Now listen to what God says

  328. about this land. It's a land flowing with milk

  329. and honey. This is Canaan land.

  330. He said, I'm taking you out of Egypt.

  331. I'm going to take you through the wilderness.

  332. Listen, this journey is a process.

  333. All of us go through the wilderness.

  334. All of us go through the wilderness.

  335. You going to shout in the wilderness?

  336. You going to be grateful in the wilderness?

  337. You going to be thankful in the wilderness?

  338. You going to remind, remind God of his promises in the

  339. wilderness. Murmuring and complaining will

  340. hinder advancement. If you start griping, you start

  341. complaining. What you need to do is Lord, you

  342. said this, I have faith, I have love, I have hope and things are

  343. going to change. Things are going to get better.

  344. I know that because I'm lining up with your instruction.

  345. So he said it's a land flowing with milk and honey.

  346. Now the amplified as a footnote says this about milk and honey.

  347. I'll say this right now since I have the podium and pastor can

  348. correct me Sunday and y'all can tell him because we have our

  349. differences when it comes to how to drink coffee.

  350. He says you should drink it black.

  351. That's God's original intent. I go to Leviticus 2024 and I

  352. said it's coffee with milk and honey.

  353. Matter of fact, I'll give let everything be confirmed by two

  354. or three. He made darkness into light.

  355. OK, we'll see what his rebuttal is and I will humble myself.

  356. But the amplified says this. This phrase referred to the

  357. abundant. Think about your life right now,

  358. not just a lamb, but you. You know, we are the temple of

  359. God right now. We are his territory right now.

  360. So he said this phrase. Milk and hunt referred to the

  361. abundant fertility of the land of Canaan.

  362. Milk, typically that of goats and sheep, was associated with

  363. abundance. Honey referred mainly to syrups

  364. made from dates or grapes and was the epitome of sweetness.

  365. We could say the sweet abundant life, the sweet abundant life.

  366. Who wants that? Who wants a sweet abundant life?

  367. Got about 5 people. This is exciting.

  368. I see some hands raised. Now the book of Joshua is

  369. actually the book where the children of Israel finally, you

  370. know, they, they, they wandered for 40 years.

  371. I don't have 40 years. I don't have 40 years to waste.

  372. I want to learn the you are the sum total of everything that you

  373. learned. I want to learn the lessons

  374. quickly. Lord, what do you need to teach

  375. me out of this? And then I need to get quiet

  376. enough to listen what the Holy Ghost is saying and make the

  377. internal adjustments and course correction to make sure I stay

  378. on the pathway in the plan of God.

  379. Man, you got the greatest counselor on the inside of you.

  380. He is the Tor conductor who will the whole reason listen.

  381. Jesus was given to the world, but the Holy Ghost was given to

  382. the church and, and the Bible says about the Holy Spirit that

  383. he is the counselor, the helper, the comforter, the intercessor,

  384. the advocate, the strengthener, the standby.

  385. But he's just like the tour conductor.

  386. When you take the trolley tour downtown, guess what, there is a

  387. conductor that knows each stop where you're going, how much

  388. more the Holy Spirit is going to help instruct you.

  389. So when you're, when you're going through things, some

  390. things are self-inflicted and proverbs that a man may ruin his

  391. chances and then blame it on God.

  392. Some people ruin their life by dumb things.

  393. The great thing though is God loves you so much he's giving

  394. you a thing called repentance that you can turn around out of

  395. that thing and not be in in a in a muck or in a downcast or in a

  396. discouraged state. Back to forgiveness, forgiveness

  397. before God. I told you 3 dimensions,

  398. forgiveness towards others. And if you do blow it, you need

  399. to forgive yourself. You could release things before

  400. God. You could have released things

  401. before others. But are you carrying guilt?

  402. Romans 81 says there's no guilt or condemnation.

  403. That could be a way. Let it go.

  404. If God Forgives you, forgive yourself.

  405. If you don't forgive yourself after God Forgives you, you're

  406. making yourself greater than God.

  407. And if God says in Psalms one O 3, I'll remove your sins as far

  408. as the east is from the West, which means they'll never meet

  409. again. If you've put that thing under

  410. the blood and been a real man or woman repented of it, then let

  411. it go. Let it go.

  412. I didn't even know that was a song, Christopher, but frozen.

  413. There we go. I did know that's a song.

  414. What a great example. Listen, you need to sing frozen

  415. every night. Let it go.

  416. Good job, Christopher, let it go.

  417. So God wants to bring you into the land, but you want to learn

  418. every lesson quickly and other things are just you're walking

  419. through. Some things are self-imposed,

  420. some things listen. The apostle Paul in second

    2 Corinthians 12 chapter mention

  421. Corinthians chapter 12, he said, Lord, remove this thing from me.

  422. And God said, no, he said, my grace is sufficient for you.

  423. And I love what Apostle Paul says.

  424. He says, then bring it Lord, that that was my that's when I

  425. read. That's what I see.

  426. Bring it on. May I have another please.

  427. He said, I'll, I'll joy in this thing.

  428. Then just like James once says, count all joy.

  429. So he realized he wasn't in sin. He was now the will of God, but

  430. there were people coming along persecuting him, putting

  431. pressure on him, and he wanted to be delivered from people,

  432. Judaizers that were coming alongside undoing the work that

  433. he was doing. It said it was like a thorn in

  434. his side and he said, Lord, I want them out of my life.

  435. And God said I ain't removing them.

  436. They're going to help perfect you.

  437. You realize people are going to help perfect you.

  438. Lord, I want to be around somebody that loves me all the

  439. time. It's not going to happen.

  440. There's going to be people that celebrate you, people that

  441. tolerate you and people that hate you.

  442. And you got to realize in all those I want to handle it right,

  443. because if I handle it right, I'm going to come through the

  444. the furnace of affliction and come out a more refined,

  445. stronger vessel and have more advancement in my life.

  446. So Joshua is a a fascinating book, 24 chapters of of the

  447. children of Israel, children of Israel going in to possess this

  448. sweet land and it's example for us.

  449. But here's a sad indictment in Joshua chapter 18.

    Joshua 18 chapter mention

  450. It's 24 chapter. So we're 18 chapters in how many

  451. tribes are there? How many tribes?

  452. So he says this in in Joshua chapter 18 verses one through

    Joshua 18 chapter mention

  453. three, It says this is from the amplified says then the whole

  454. congregation of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh in the

  455. tribal tribal territory of Ephraim.

  456. They set up the tent of meeting there.

  457. The land was subdued before them.

  458. There remained among the Israelites 7 tribes who had not

  459. yet divided their inheritance. So Joshua asked them, how long

  460. will you put off entering to take possession of the land

  461. which the Lord, the God of your Father's has given you?

  462. Wow, how long will you put off this sweet life?

  463. Let me read it from the message. It says the entire congregation

  464. of the people of Israel got together at Shiloh.

  465. They put up the tent of meeting. The land was under their

  466. control, but there were still yet 7 Israelite tribes who had

  467. yet to receive their inheritance.

  468. John Joshua addressed the people of Israel said how long are you

  469. going to sit around on your hands putting off taking

  470. possession of the land that the God of your ancestors has given

  471. you? How long are you going to sit on

  472. your hands? God, why are you not moving in

  473. my life? Let me put it this way, God,

  474. you're not waiting on God. God is waiting on you.

  475. Matthew 16 is is awesome. Verse 18, it starts in verse

  476. 1415161718 says I'm going to give you the keys of the

  477. Kingdom. It says whatever you bound on

  478. earth will be bound in heaven. What do you loose on earth will

  479. be loose on in heaven? He gave you the authority, He

  480. gave you the the instruction, the commandment and he said

  481. guess what, it's in your power of choice.

  482. Joshua 24 says the same thing. He says choose this day.

  483. Whom you going to serve? As for me and my household, we

  484. choose to serve the Lord. I'm going to get up every day

  485. and tackle it with an enthusia enthusiasm unknown to most

  486. mankind. Every day is a gift from God.

  487. Are you maximizing every day? Canaan Land is a maximized life

  488. where you're living life to the fullest.

  489. It's filled up, it's complete, it's satisfying, It's more than

  490. enough. You're living life so well in

  491. Canaan land that your life is flowing over into the lives of

  492. others. God just doesn't want things to

  493. go well for you. He wants your life to be lived

  494. so well that actually impacts and influences other people's

  495. life. People should see you.

  496. I'm going back to the marriage covenant, your marriage

  497. operating so well, they're like, tell me, what do I need to do to

  498. attain to that? Or your parenting's so great you

  499. could sit at a restaurant without your kids hanging from

  500. the chandelier or giving them a phone to pacify them and babysit

  501. them. You compare so well that your

  502. kids actually learn how to look in your eyes and have adult

  503. conversations. You compare so well, you just

  504. give the look and they respond. But you're doing these things so

  505. well, your business could be so successful.

  506. Others are like, what are you doing?

  507. And guess what, all the glory goes to God.

  508. I'm just lining up. I'm just lining up everyday.

  509. Instruction, download. Following his command, following

  510. his voice, being obedient to what He says, and bit by bit,

  511. little by little, you're going to get out of McDonald's.

  512. Hallelujah. Canaan Land is the maximized

  513. life. It's where you make the most of

  514. every day. You could have a Canaan Land

  515. marriage. You can have Canaan Land

  516. parenting. But I want to go over 7 areas of

  517. evaluation. Then I'm going to highlight one

  518. that's important not just for you, but because of the vision

  519. that God placed at Anchor Faith Church.

  520. And I come with great seriousness, great soberness,

  521. and great joy. Tonight though, you are vital.

  522. You are vital. You are vital to what God wants

  523. to do in this vision. Without you.

  524. This isn't Pastor or Marcy by themselves.

  525. This is another leadership. It takes all of us.

  526. It takes all of us and I am just challenging you.

  527. If you're in a bad position, get to a good position.

  528. If you're doing good, then get to great.

  529. But I, I'm talking about next level tonight.

  530. I'm talking about increase. I'm talking about advancement.

  531. If we are going to do what God has called us to do, then it's

  532. going to be vital that everybody is connected and doing their

  533. part. If we're going to ignite this

  534. city, impact this nation, and influence this world, we need to

  535. live the sweet, abundant life in Canaanland.

  536. We don't want God looking at US 20 years from now and say, how

  537. long you going to put off? And if you're not going to do

  538. your assignment, guess what? God is faithful to raise

  539. somebody else up to fulfill what He called you to do.

  540. And it's not that He didn't want you to do it.

  541. It's that you chose not to line up with and submit to you

  542. settled. Maybe you got complacent and I

  543. just want to shake you up tonight.

  544. I don't want to slap you. I just want to shake you.

  545. I want to stir you like a good glass of chocolate milk.

  546. Sometimes all that syrup goes to the bottom and what do you got

  547. to do? You got to get that spoon in

  548. there. And like Paul said, I want to or

  549. Peter said, I want to stir you up by way of remembrance.

  550. So these are 7 areas, though I look at this on a, on an annual

  551. basis. I think everybody as you're

  552. grown with God should look at these areas #1 spiritually.

  553. Are you in a Canaan land spiritually?

  554. And what does that mean? Are you connected with intimate

  555. and in communion with God every day?

  556. The word says draw near to me and I will draw near to you.

  557. I don't feel the presence of God while you're taking time to read

  558. the word of God. Are you taking time to pray?

  559. Are you taking time to meditate and reflect on His Word?

  560. This is a spiritual scalpel right now.

  561. Some of you could stand to cut off some TV.

  562. I'm going to step on some people's toes.

  563. Social media right now, is there a thing is anything wrong with

  564. this? No, but if you're giving more

  565. time to that than you are to God, then how are you really

  566. living a Canaan land, maximize existence spiritually and that's

  567. the first and foremost. You're never going to get to

  568. everything else if you're not growing in this and advancing in

  569. this first and foremost. Proverbs 4, chapter 20 says

  570. Proverbs chapter 4, verse #20 says guard your heart with all

    Proverbs 4 chapter mention

  571. diligence, for all of it flows. The issues of life, everything,

  572. the issues of the flesh are the result of issues of the spirit.

  573. And if you're not living a Canaan land, existing

  574. spiritually, you can get there. Well, how do I keep on?

  575. How do I get there? Keep on growing.

  576. I remember when I was at Raymond Christiansen in 1997.

  577. Actually, he's 96. No, I went to Raymond 98.

  578. Yeah, 97. And I was sitting in the pews.

  579. Well, not in theater seats. You are sitting in theater

  580. seats. It was pews back then.

  581. No, it's actually cheers. Sorry.

  582. It was cheers and I was taking notes.

  583. I got so frustrated taking notes.

  584. I was like, where has this been my whole life?

  585. I wanted everything. I wanted it now.

  586. I was like a sponge and I'm still like a sponge.

  587. I love to learn the Word of God. I love to be in the Word of God.

  588. There is nothing greater than I'd rather do to them.

  589. Be in the Word of God. It fuels me, it feeds me, it

  590. revised me, it gives me clarity of thought.

  591. It relieves all, all all of my worries, concerns.

  592. It puts me in His pathway, His promises and His greatness.

  593. But I'm saying that why? Because it's a process you just

  594. continue. I didn't know as I didn't know

  595. as much in 1997 as I know now. But guess what?

  596. I still don't know it. I'm still growing and going.

  597. But the point is, don't stop. Secondly, your soul realm, your

  598. soul, which is your mind, your will and your emotions.

  599. How are you doing with the Canaan Land soul realm?

  600. How is your mind? How is your will, the choices

  601. that you make? How are your emotions?

  602. Are you ruled by your emotions? God made you with the emotions,

  603. but are they supposed to sit on the throne of all your

  604. decisions? I'll give you one verse in

  605. Ephesians chapter 4 verse #26 it says.

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  606. Be angry in emotion, but don't sin.

  607. Don't let the anger make you make a decision.

  608. You control it, it doesn't control you.

  609. How you doing with your body? What I mean this, this has to

  610. carry you around for your purpose.

  611. Now I have a tendency to like sweet things but I realize this

  612. it needs to be in moderation. I remember getting my blood work

  613. done last December coming off of Christmas which was bad because

  614. I always get chocolate covered cherries along with your

  615. peppermint patties along with all the other sweets that go

  616. around at Christmas time and my glucose is one O 6.

  617. It was in the yellow marker and my doctor said what happened.

  618. I don't know lie. I know exactly what happened.

  619. I told the truth. I took responsibility.

  620. Well, I pounded sugars for about 14 days before the blood work a

  621. lot good because I've never seen that from you before.

  622. Guess what next time I got it back normal like where it's

  623. supposed to be right, but your body what are you living a

  624. Canaan land existence. I believe when we're, I believe

  625. like Caleb in the book of Joshua at 80, I am stillwell able, but

  626. you realize that doesn't fall on you like ripe cherries off of a

  627. tree. You can't sit on your backside

  628. eating bonbons. Somebody didn't know what

  629. bonbons was that Twinkies, ice cream, cookies and all this

  630. other stuff. And expect to have a great body

  631. or be physically fit at 80. Hallelujah.

  632. See ignorance or kill you. And now that you know you got to

  633. do something with it, you're responsible for what's

  634. ministered at this platform. So what are you doing though?

  635. Just everybody's goals are not the same.

  636. Some people love to run marathons.

  637. I don't like doing that. You know, some people may like

  638. to do racquetball. That's awesome.

  639. Whatever your flavor, whatever you like, I would just say move,

  640. be active, do something. Whether you just want to walk

  641. and enjoy the scenery, you could do two things at once.

  642. Pray in the Holy Ghost and go walk around your neighborhood

  643. for 30 minutes, whatever the case is, but do something.

  644. You know that Jesus walked up mountains and prayed.

  645. We just think about the spiritual side.

  646. But you know what he was doing? He was creating some stamina in

  647. his body by doing that. Hallelujah.

  648. Another area is family. Are you having a Canaan land

  649. family experience in your manhood, your womanhood,

  650. relationships, finances? Are you having a Canaan Land

  651. time in your finances? Are you having a Canaan Land

  652. time socially? And I, I think a social in this

  653. aspect. Do you have good godly friends

  654. around you and are you evangelizing the world?

  655. To me it goes with both. Are you winning the lost and are

  656. you connecting with other godly people?

  657. That's what I call the social goals.

  658. And the last thing is ministry. When I say ministry, I'm not

  659. talking about just full time ministry.

  660. I'm talking about your gifting and your and your talents that

  661. God has put in your life. Every one of you is unique.

  662. Every one of you has something special on the inside of you.

  663. I'll put it this way. Every one of you has something

  664. that can serve humanity. All right.

  665. I want to highlight, though, on finances when it comes to Canaan

  666. Land, because if we're going to advance this vision, guess what

  667. it's going to take? If we're going to advance this

  668. vision to ignite this city, impact the nation and influence

  669. the world, guess what? It's going to take all of us.

  670. But it's going to take finances. It's going to take money, Moola

  671. Dinero money. Our youth group had a train of

  672. minivans, nine of them that went to East Coast camp.

  673. You know, Enterprise didn't give those to us for free.

  674. Guess what somebody had in their heart to actually.

  675. So we we were trying to keep the cost at a minimal for the

  676. students so we get maximum participant participation and

  677. not put such a burden on the students.

  678. You know, they stay at a hotel. They did the Cracker Barrel

  679. which was $759. Praise the Lord on Sunday night.

  680. I saw that already entered that transaction in the general

  681. Ledger and Pastor Earl on the thread when Pastor Brandon sent

  682. them at Cracker Barrel, he said breakfast only.

  683. It was that night. So Pastor Earl's philosophy as

  684. you always get breakfast at Cracker Barrel, but we're trying

  685. to keep them. So there's, there's a camp cost.

  686. You know, they did obviously lunch for them on Monday and

  687. then camp obviously when they get there, they're doing lunch

  688. for them on Friday on the way back.

  689. So it takes money to get them there, right?

  690. And you know, the, the vans themselves, we took that out.

  691. That was $5000. Now, thank God, guess what,

  692. somebody had that and it moved on their heart to give.

  693. Think about that in the Kingdom of God, what if three lives get

  694. changed out of that? That's better than the stock

  695. market, right? We support an orphanage in India

  696. that went from 2000 last year to 3000 this year.

  697. Guess what? That takes?

  698. Money. Hallelujah, I can right now.

  699. Thank God we're in an air conditioned facility.

  700. We could choose not to play the electric bill, which is more

  701. than I think probably everybody's mortgage, possibly

  702. in this room. It takes money.

  703. So let me say this. If the church is going to

  704. advance, guess what happened? The people in the church need to

  705. advance. If you don't advance, the church

  706. isn't going to advance. That goes spiritually, soul,

  707. body, family. We have 318 on Monday night, but

  708. it doesn't matter if you hear those principles, you don't go

  709. live it out in the house. But guess what?

  710. Finance is another thing. It takes finances to run the

  711. ministry. So I'm going to give you 3

  712. things to prosper, to advance, to have a Canaan Land finances.

  713. I'm going to run pretty quick 'cause it is 843.

  714. That was a long introduction. I was trying to get to 35,000

  715. feet and level off. I just took us to the moon.

  716. So #1 if you're going to advance and this church isn't going to

  717. advance unless you're going to advance, there's, there's gifts

  718. in all of us. God wants you to be wealthy.

  719. He said, I give you the power to get wealth.

  720. Now listen, rich people are not always wealthy, but wealthy

  721. people are always rich. Rich people are not always

  722. wealthy, but wealthy people are always rich.

  723. And God said, I'm going to give you the power to get wealth.

  724. Wealth is at its etymology means well-being Third John two says

  725. it this way. Third, John two, beloved, I wish

  726. above all things you'd prosper and be in health even as your

  727. soul prospers. He's saying, what good is it if

  728. you have riches but you're broken your mind?

  729. A rich person could have a great house but a terrible marriage,

  730. kids that are heathens. And God said, I'm going to give

  731. you a wealth. And wealth is established #1

  732. through work. Work is not a dirty word in the

  733. Kingdom of God. Grace does not alleviate work.

  734. Work was in the earth before the fall.

  735. Work is the God ordained way for you to establish dominion in the

  736. earth. I don't I'm going to go quick,

  737. but He said to go in all the world.

  738. The world is a sectors of society.

  739. When we get to #7 what I said, what is your minister, your gift

  740. in your service, your talent. God said I'm going to give you a

  741. talent. You need to go work that talent,

  742. you need to go into one of those sectors of society.

  743. I I remember them from ABCDEFG, which is arts and entertainment,

  744. business, congregations, education, direct media,

  745. government, family and education.

  746. I know that was real fast, but God has assigned all of us to go

  747. into an an area whether it's and most of us are going to be in

  748. this in the in the secular field, not the sacred

  749. assignment. Think about the tribes of

  750. Israel. Most of them were what going out

  751. to get the the provision to bring back to the the they were

  752. going out to get the provision to bring for the vision to build

  753. a Tabernacle. Are you with me?

  754. So work is one of the ways that God has given you to establish

  755. dominion on the earth and you're never going to advance if you

  756. don't know how to work. You need to learn learn how to

  757. work hard and how to work smart. We live in a generation that's

  758. an entitlement generation that thinks they can sit on their

  759. hand. The government's going to pay

  760. them money. Not in our Kingdom, not in our

  761. Kingdom. He said to work at your

  762. salvation. He said he began a good work in

  763. you and he wants you to complete it.

  764. In Genesis chapter 25215, he says he put God, he put Adam in

  765. the garden to tend it and to keep it, to work it, to

  766. cultivate it, to bring fruitfulness to it.

  767. I'm telling you right now, you want to be a great

  768. representation of the Lord Jesus Christ when you go to work.

  769. Be a person that can have wisdom, understanding and

  770. knowledge that you're doing your job so well they can't replace

  771. you. You are such a benefit and a

  772. blessing to that organization, that man, they don't want to

  773. lose you. Some people may try to recruit

  774. you out because you're doing so well.

  775. Listen, we want the anointing to come upon us in our work.

  776. We are ordinary, but God puts his extraordinary on us.

  777. He puts his supernatural on our natural in our work to for it to

  778. be blessed so we could have wealth.

  779. Deuteronomy 28, eight says this. The Lord will command the

  780. blessing on you in your storehouses and in all what you

  781. set your hand to do. Notice whatever you put your

  782. hand to, you're not sitting on your hands doing nothing.

  783. I'm gonna, I'm gonna correct something.

  784. Some of you may have heard this. There was a time in the body of

  785. Christ where some people are saying money comes to me.

  786. Now money don't come to somebody sitting on their hands.

  787. I don't care how much you confess it now is confession

  788. right? Yes, I believe we should

  789. confess. It is a key in the Kingdom.

  790. But these are multiple things coming together to create the

  791. flow. Proverbs 12/4 says the hand of

  792. the diligent will rule. So many examples in the in the

  793. Bible of people that worked hard.

  794. I remember when I was at Enterprise Rent a car as a

  795. branch manager. I worked hard and I worked

  796. smart. So did Pastor Marcus and we rose

  797. through the ranks. He became the manager of 4321

  798. Palm Coast. I became the manager of 4313

  799. here in Saint Augustine. And they, they were amazed at

  800. us. We were there at the same time.

  801. We were a great blessing and benefit.

  802. We just kept going. We started off as in their in

  803. their management program and we went to assistant managers and

  804. we became branch managers. But God didn't want us there.

  805. Ultimately both of us came into full time ministry because that

  806. was the the goal that God had for us.

  807. But while we were there, listen, we made them money and we made

  808. ourselves money because he worked hard and we worked smart.

  809. But I never forget when I was at Enterprise, there was a guy

  810. named Bob who actually retired from UPS.

  811. He was retired 80 year old man. And I had an intern from Florida

  812. State and I'm not bashing Florida State, but he's probably

  813. 21. But the difference in work ethic

  814. was amazing. Bob, my 8 year old, I never had

  815. to go behind him and look and see if a car was clean before I

  816. delivered to a customer. Now Tim, the guy that was at

  817. Florida State, I always had to double check his work.

  818. Just difference in in generations.

  819. Bob knew how to work. Listen, I could go to Jacob in

  820. the Old Testament. He worked hard for Laban, served

  821. him and brought Prosperity Joseph anywhere he went.

  822. Didn't matter if he was in Potiphar's house, the prison or

  823. with Pharaoh. He worked hard and he worked

  824. smart and he always rose to the top.

  825. So guess what? If Anchor Faith Church is going

  826. to advance and excel, then you need to be a person that's going

  827. to increase financially by working hard.

  828. Don't show up Tim mates Tim minutes late with a bad

  829. attitude. Don't act like your employer

  830. owes you something. Matter of fact, when we say work

  831. hard and work smart, I want to challenge you with this.

  832. Some people put themselves to work, that's called employment.

  833. Some people put other people to work, that's called being an

  834. employer. Some people put money to work,

  835. that's called an investment. Somebody, Some people put their

  836. knowledge to work, and that's called consulting.

  837. Some people put an idea to work, an idea or a concept and that's

  838. called a business. So we want to work hard and we

  839. want to work smart. Secondly, to prosper financially

  840. so that the church prospers, you need to be a good manager, a

  841. good manager. First Corinthians chapter 4

    1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  842. verse #2 says this. Moreover, it's required in

  843. stewards that one be found faithful.

  844. The word stewards in in the Bible means a manager.

  845. We don't own what we possess. It's gods.

  846. We're only the stewards or the manager of it.

  847. So you need to be a good manager in Matthew chapter 25, the

    Matthew 25 chapter mention

  848. parable of talents just forsake of time.

  849. I'm not going to read this. He gave 151211 and what he see

  850. what he say. He said do business till I come.

  851. He said manage this till I come. Guess what they did, They

  852. managed well and they increased what God had given them.

  853. So my question is, what has God-given you that you need to

  854. increase in advance in Now the five, what gained 5 the two

  855. gained 2. The one mismanaged and he lost

  856. everything that he had. So there's this.

  857. This is a principle we can extract from that.

  858. Good management attracts resources.

  859. Bad management puts at Bay resources.

  860. Are you with me? Good management means you keep

  861. records. Proverbs 27 says be diligent to

  862. know the condition or the state of your flock.

  863. Do you know what's in your checking account right now?

  864. Hallelujah. Do you have a check register?

  865. I remember listening to the story one time of an individual

  866. that was trying to help some other people and they were

  867. looking at their Ledger and they noticed ESP every once in a

  868. while. So they're trying to reconcile

  869. their debits and their credits. You know your debits and your

  870. credits is what credits is. Money coming in, Debits is money

  871. going out. If your outgo exceeds your

  872. income, then your upkeep becomes your downfall.

  873. So he said what does ESP mean? And they just put error

  874. someplace they weren't keeping accurate records.

  875. What's a good manager do? They are a good administrator

  876. and they maximize through administration what's in their

  877. assignment, what's in their stewardship and what's been

  878. given to them on on just a real practical level.

  879. This year I was looking at our finances and we have a, you

  880. know, a budget. We're not eating at McDonald's

  881. anymore. But you know what, as a good

  882. manager, I said we don't need to eat out every night.

  883. So our goal in our household is not to eat out anymore.

  884. And twice a week, that's us personally.

  885. That's how we're unified about that.

  886. My wife and I, we could go out, but I thought, man, we, you

  887. could actually save money by not going out every night and

  888. eating. And you, you realize you could

  889. save money by actually, this is going to shock some of you going

  890. to the restaurant you want to go to and not door dash it.

  891. Hallelujah. On a practical side though, like

  892. this year with our mortgage, I'm looking at, you know, there's

  893. ways to increase, you can either decrease your overhead or

  894. increase your revenue. So I was looking at our, all of

  895. our outlay of our finances as I do 'cause I want to manage it

  896. well. I realize if I bring order and

  897. organization, God could bring increase.

  898. If I'm disordered, disordered disorganization, there's going

  899. to be no increase. It's mismanagement.

  900. So I, I got to look in and I said, you know what, we could

  901. drop our PMI, Angie, at $67 a month.

  902. What's PMI? Private mortgage insurance.

  903. And once you hit that 80% mark, you can drop that.

  904. So I had to pay $190.00 for them to come out, put a value in our

  905. house, and guess what? We qualified and I shaved off

  906. $67. Would you do the math on that,

  907. right? That adds up.

  908. Over the course of a year, I realized we were paying 499 for

  909. Discover Channel that we never watch.

  910. It adds up. That's good management, right?

  911. Are you with me? Last thing I want to hit 'cause

  912. it is 856. These three have to all work

  913. together. Being in ministry now since

  914. 2004, we've done premarital counseling, we've done marital

  915. counseling, individual counseling, and I've just

  916. learned this over the years, and I believe this to be true with

  917. all my heart. All three of these have to be in

  918. operation as a Kingdom citizen in order to prosper and have

  919. advancement in this area and have Canaan land, which is work

  920. hard, good management and then giving.

  921. I have seen people tithe and give offerings, work hard and be

  922. horrible managers and they don't have God's Canaan land.

  923. They mismanage. I've seen people manage well,

  924. tithe, not work hard and not have Canaan land.

  925. I've seen people work hard, manage and not tithe and not

  926. have Canaan land. So listen, are you with me?

  927. It takes all three of these for you to advance.

  928. And if you here's the here's the thing.

  929. If you don't advance an increase, Anchor Faith Church

  930. doesn't advance an increase. So all three of these have to be

  931. in alignment. If you ever had a hose, you

  932. know, in your water and something or like I'm washing my

  933. car, sometimes there's a kink in the hose and it's really

  934. frustrating. And there's many times I just

  935. try to pop it. You know, you do that for a

  936. minute and you finally just give up and you walk over there and

  937. you unkink it right on God's end, He is the faucet it his

  938. supply never runs out. He is perpetual energy,

  939. perpetual provision. But on our end, sometimes we get

  940. kinks and I'm just trying to identify in these three things.

  941. If you're not seeing increase, where's your kink?

  942. And all you have to do is make that adjustment and guess what

  943. the flow opens up. Thank you so much for listening
