  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. We are called as a church, just

  4. not the pastors. We are called as a church.

  5. So every vision partner of Anchor Faith Church is called to

  6. ignite the city, impact the nation, and influence the world.

  7. Let's say that we're called to ignite the city, impact the

  8. nation and influence the world. Today, I want to hone in on

  9. igniting the city. That word ignite means to burn

  10. with zeal, to set a blaze or set on fire.

  11. And specifically within the night of the city, I want to

  12. talk about family advancement. One thing that you will here a

  13. lot at Anchor Faith Churches, we are always advancing no matter

  14. what we're doing, igniting the city, impacting the nation or

  15. influence in the world, we're always advancing in advance.

  16. You'll see the definition means to make progress, to move

  17. forward, to accelerate and move to a higher rank or level.

  18. And the Kingdom of God is always advancing.

  19. The realm or the territory where God is in charge is always

  20. advancing. That means there's always

  21. progress, you're always moving forward, there's acceleration,

  22. and He wants you to move to a higher rank or to a higher

  23. level. 2023 may be good for you, but God wants to see greater

  24. things in 2024 and even more excellent things in 2025.

  25. So we are always advancing. Now I want to go to what Jesus

  26. talked about and Jesus is the highest model of leadership that

  27. we have. There is no greater person that

  28. we could look to for leadership than the Lord Jesus Christ.

  29. So as you read the Gospels, it is awesome to see how He

  30. interacted and move with purpose in the Gospels, how He

  31. interacted with people and how you saw His mission that God the

  32. Father assigned him. Now in the Gospels, the Gospel

  33. of Matthew, the last chapter in Matthew 28, this is when Jesus

  34. has finished his work on the earth, but he he gives us what

  35. we call the Great Commission. The word Commission means

  36. together, it's a mission, but the word Co means you're working

  37. together. So as a born again believer in

  38. the family of God, in the Kingdom of God, we are Co

  39. laboring with him. That means God and his

  40. sovereignty is not doing everything by himself.

  41. There is a part that you have to play.

  42. There's a purpose that he's assigned you on the earth.

  43. So this is a Co mission. We are working together with the

  44. Lord Jesus Christ and the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

  45. You know, God's gift to the world was Jesus.

  46. God's gift to the church is the Holy Spirit.

  47. God's gift to the world is Jesus.

  48. God's gift to the church is the Holy Spirit.

  49. So when we're doing this mission with him, we have the anointing

  50. the Holy Spirit upon us to accomplish what he's called us

  51. to do. So in Matthew chapter 28, verse

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  52. #19 and verse #20 says this. Go therefore and make disciples

  53. of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father

  54. and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe

  55. all things that I have commanded you.

  56. And lo, I am with you always, even to the ends of the age.

  57. So this is one of the great commissions that Jesus gave to

  58. the church and he said go on to all the nation, all the all the

  59. nations and make disciples. Now the word nations in the

  60. Bible is where we get ethnos or ethnic groups.

  61. So nobody's excluded from discipleship.

  62. As a church, as Anchor Faith Church, our goal is not to make

  63. converts but disciples. What is a disciple?

  64. It's a person that's fully devoted to knowing the Lord

  65. Jesus Christ. A disciple is fully devoted to

  66. knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. A disciple is a pupil.

  67. That means you're a student enrolled in the Kingdom

  68. education system, having a great hunger and desire to be taught

  69. and listen, to learn. You must want to be taught.

  70. If you Once you think you know everything, learning ceases.

  71. Matter of fact, if you think that you you, you know

  72. everything, then really you're still in a state of ignorance.

  73. You need to be like a sponge that's ready to absorb

  74. everything that God wants to download and instruct us in.

  75. So discipleship never stops. This is a lifelong journey in

  76. pursuit and a mission of God the Father that he wants all of his

  77. children to be lifelong learn learners.

  78. In the Jewish culture, they had thing called rabbis, and a rabbi

  79. was a teacher. Matter of fact, you'll see the

  80. disciples of Jesus, they referred to him as a rabbi at

  81. times. And the thing about the the

  82. students of a rabbi, they wanted to know what their rabbi knew.

  83. They wanted to do what their rabbi did, and they wanted to be

  84. like their rabbi. And as a disciple, we want to

  85. know what Jesus knows. We want to do what Jesus does

  86. and we want to be like Jesus in the earth.

  87. So we are commissioned to make disciples.

  88. So my expectation and most importantly, I say God's

  89. expectation today is you are like, father, feed me a good

  90. spiritual meal because I want to learn.

  91. I need the the nourishment, the nutrients because I need to grow

  92. as a man or a woman of God. I don't know everything and we

  93. know that people perish because of a lack of knowledge.

  94. So download things from heaven to earth today.

  95. Even if I go to a scripture that I've heard before, it's going to

  96. be like the first time and I'm ready to receive.

  97. I'm hungry, say I'm hungry, say I'm hungry, say I'm thirsty.

  98. Hallelujah. Now in Mark chapter 16, we have

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  99. another Commission that the Lord Jesus Christ gives, and He says

  100. this in Mark chapter 16 verse #15 He said to them, go into all

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  101. the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

  102. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

  103. What's the gospel? Well, we know it's the gospel of

  104. the Kingdom. If you've been with Anchor Faith

  105. Church for any period of time, or you're more recently

  106. attending, you're going to learn about the Kingdom of God.

  107. And like I said, that's the realm.

  108. It's the basilia, the realm of the territory where a king is in

  109. charge. The Bible's about a king, his

  110. Kingdom, and his royal offspring, Hallelujah.

  111. And we're in the Kingdom of God. Matter of fact, in Luke 1721,

  112. the disciples said, Jesus, when is the Kingdom going to come?

  113. He said, behold the Kingdom come with observation.

  114. The Kingdom of God is within you, so as soon as you make

  115. Jesus Lord, you're within the Kingdom of God.

  116. You've been taken out of the Kingdom of darkness and

  117. translated into the Kingdom of God.

  118. I'm out of that jurisdiction and I'm in the King's jurisdiction

  119. now. He said go into all the world

  120. and preach the gospel. That's good news.

  121. It's good tidings. We have great news for the

  122. world. There's hope for the world in

  123. truth. There's hope for the world in

  124. the gospel of the Kingdom. There's liberty, there's

  125. freedom, there's healing, there's provision in the gospel

  126. of the Kingdom. There's purpose within the

  127. gospel of the Kingdom. Now he said go in all the world.

  128. So in one Commission he says make disciples of all nations.

  129. But in this one he says to go in all the world.

  130. Now the world, if you look that up in the Greek, it literally

  131. means the cosmos or the systems or arrangement of the world.

  132. And what I mean by that you'll see on the screen in any society

  133. when we talk about the world in any society dating back to the

  134. beginning of civilizations, there's been seven things that's

  135. within any society that makes systems or arrangements or

  136. order. And you'll say, see these I go A

  137. through G just helps me remember them.

  138. So there's arts, there's business, there's congregations,

  139. there's direct media, there's education, there's family and

  140. there's government. So within any civilization,

  141. these seven characteristics can be found as structure.

  142. And Jesus said, I want you to go into these systems and preach

  143. what the gospel. So guess what, when you go to

  144. work tomorrow, if you're an arts, if you're in business, if

  145. you're in congregations, which is organizations or assemblies

  146. or boards, if you're in direct media, if you're in the

  147. educational field, if you're in families, which all of us are in

  148. families see law and in government, he said.

  149. You're to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

  150. So there's an assignment and a purpose for your existence in

  151. the Kingdom of God. Today I'm honing in or taking

  152. one of these systems and it's called the family.

  153. And this is family advancement. God wants you to make progress,

  154. accelerate, grow, and move to a higher rank or level in the

  155. family unit. I got 3 yeses.

  156. This gets me jacked excited because because if the family's

  157. strong, the church will be strong.

  158. If the family unit is strong, then the church will be strong.

  159. If you got a jacked up, dysfunctional family, guess

  160. what's coming to church? Hallelujah.

  161. Now, does God work in that and through that?

  162. Absolutely. But the things that you are

  163. learning at the church should trickle over into the family.

  164. Now this is sobering. You could sing, dance, shout and

  165. run at the altar, but if you go home and you're Freddie the

  166. freak or you're not living it out, you become a hypocrite.

  167. And the things that you're being taught at Anchor Faith Church,

  168. these are to be applied. Truth is like soap, it only

  169. works if you apply it. So if you're a stinky spouse,

  170. we're going to give you some truth today, some soap.

  171. But you actually need to live these things out at the house

  172. between your call and your character.

  173. Gives you a thing called credibility.

  174. All of us are called to the Great Commission.

  175. Do you have Christ like character that you can conduct

  176. yourself at in the home to give credibility?

  177. Your kids will not always listen to you, but they'll always

  178. imitate you. I remember when Abigail, my

  179. oldest daughter, I was working out in the yard, she was talking

  180. to me and you know, she just talks a lot at that age.

  181. And I remember two things out of this conversation.

  182. One the Holy Ghost said look her in the eyes when she's talking

  183. to you. Don't have your back towards

  184. her. Give her the attention 'cause

  185. you're not. You need to set the standard of

  186. what a real man does. How many of you spouses know if

  187. you just look your spouse in the eye when they're talking to you

  188. instead of looking at notifications?

  189. I'm just going to throw this in there.

  190. If you have to text each other and you're next to each other on

  191. the couch, there's an issue. But I remember two things on

  192. that. That was one of them is to look

  193. her nice. Secondly was I spit when she was

  194. talking to me. I was outside work and then she

  195. spit. I thought, Lord, I don't want

  196. her spitting. That's in ladylike so your kids,

  197. they're not always listen to you, but they'll always imitate

  198. you. Do you realize you carry an

  199. atmosphere with you and the atmosphere you permit is the

  200. atmosphere that's produced and God wants heaven filled homes at

  201. Anchor Faith Church because he wants a heaven filled church.

  202. What I mean about that by that Romans 1417 says, I'll say it

  203. this way, God wants Kingdom filled homes and a Kingdom

  204. filled Anchor Faith Church. Because in Romans 1417 it says

  205. the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but it's

  206. righteousness, it's peace and it's joy in the Holy Ghost.

  207. So when we come into our houses as a man or woman of God, you

  208. set the atmosphere in righteousness, in peace and in

  209. joy in the Holy Ghost. Now listen.

  210. Wisdom has taught us mastery of fundamentals is critical to

  211. success. In Proverbs 24 talks about

  212. there's three things that build a home.

  213. You can have a house, but the question is, is it a home?

  214. And you need wisdom, understanding and knowledge to

  215. build a home. But wisdom has taught us that

  216. mastery of fundamentals is critical to success.

  217. John Wooden, the great coach of UCLA basketball team back in the

  218. 70s who won multiple national championships, never talked

  219. about winning to his players. He preached fundamentals, he

  220. preached the process, and winning took care of itself

  221. every season. Do you realize that John Wooden

  222. literally showed his players how to put on socks and shoes so

  223. they wouldn't get blisters when they're playing basketball?

  224. You realize the first thing he taught him was not plays or how

  225. to slam dunk. He taught them how to dribble,

  226. shoot, pass, rebound for good. Good Lord, box out.

  227. Have me even watch the basketball game and think box

  228. out. You know, as my wife, she was

  229. coaching. I remember the the Washington

  230. girl, she'd always say, put your butt in the other player and box

  231. out. It's a fundamental right get

  232. position, but wisdom has taught us that mastery of fundamentals

  233. is critical to success in Matthew chapter 16 verses 18

    Matthew 16:18–19

  234. through 19. I'm just laying a foundation

  235. before we to get to some principles and keys that God is

  236. going to give you today that unlock the Kingdom of God in

  237. your home and in your life. How many of you want the Kingdom

  238. of God unlocked and operative and fully functioning in your

  239. life? It is completely up to you.

  240. It's his truth, but you have to apply it.

  241. So in Matthew chapter 16, this is where in Peter has the

    Matthew 16 chapter mention

  242. revelation. You remember this story that

  243. they said, who do you say that I am?

  244. And some say this person, that person, he said, but who do you

  245. say that I am? And Peter said, you are the

  246. Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

  247. He and Jesus said to him, You're blessed flesh and blood has not

  248. revealed this to you, but my Father, which is in heaven, He

  249. said, and I will give unto you Peter the not key, singular, but

  250. keys plural of the Kingdom. He goes on to say, whatever you

  251. bind on earth will be bound in heaven.

  252. Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

  253. You realize that? Put the responsibility into the

  254. hand or into the person that heard that.

  255. So whatever you allow in your house is on your watch.

  256. Whether it's functioning well or not is on your timetable.

  257. Keys lock and keys unlock, but the word keys in the Greek means

  258. fundamental principles and wisdom has taught us that

  259. mastery of fundamentals or keys is critical to success.

  260. So if you want to have a successful family or successful

  261. marriage or successful parenting, you better know the

  262. principles of the Word of God. God loves us so much there was

  263. no confusion. He gave us 66 books to learn

  264. from and that this is His love letter to us.

  265. This is instruction from the King to us so we could have a

  266. successful life. Hallelujah.

  267. So one key to success that I'm going to start off with.

  268. I'm going to give you 2 general keys to success.

  269. And then we're going to get real specific for women and then for

  270. men. So the goal of this is not to

  271. point to your left or right. I'm prefacing this the the goal

  272. is for you to point to yourself. So I don't want no elbows, no

  273. stairs. You look straight ahead.

  274. Hallelujah. So in Acts chapter one, and

  275. we're going to read verses one through 8, this is one general

  276. key that you need in the home. If we're going to ignite this

  277. city and we're to touch the world.

  278. This is one key that you need in the house to experience success.

  279. And we know this is the ushering in of a new dispensation.

  280. Some say the dispensation of grace, which is true, but it's

  281. also the dispensation of the Holy Ghost.

  282. So in Acts chapter one it says the former account I made, O

  283. Theopolis, of all that Jesus began both to do and to teach,

  284. until the day in which He was taken up.

  285. After He, through the Holy Spirit, had given commandments

  286. to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also

  287. presented himself alive after his suffering by many infallible

  288. proofs, being seen by the disciples for 40 days and

  289. Speaking of things pertaining to the Kingdom of God, and being

  290. assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart

  291. Jerusalem. But to wait for the promise of

  292. the Father, which he said, you have heard from me.

  293. For John truly baptized with water, but she shall be baptized

  294. with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

  295. Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Jesus,

  296. saying, Lord, we at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel.

  297. And Jesus said to them, It's not for you to know the times or

  298. seasons which the Father has put in his own authority, but you

  299. shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,

  300. and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and

  301. the uttermost parts of the earth.

  302. Now I love how this is read and written because the 1st place he

  303. says is Jerusalem, the home base and how you going to reach the

  304. World if you're not reaching your house.

  305. And what man? What good is if a man gains the

  306. whole world but forfeits his soul?

  307. So there is a premium that God puts on the home.

  308. There's a purpose as a man or woman.

  309. Matter of fact, if you're not fulfilling your purpose as a man

  310. or a woman, it's hard to fulfill a specific purpose in the

  311. Kingdom of God. So he starts in the home.

  312. But he said you need power. You realize that marriage, your

  313. marriage needs the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah.

  314. You know, there's sometimes we call it intense times of

  315. fellowship, which is a, a political way of saying

  316. arguments, frustrations, breakdown in communication.

  317. And you need the Holy Ghost in that moment because you know

  318. what the Holy Ghost is going to do.

  319. He said, John baptize you with water, but I'm baptizing you

  320. with the Holy Ghost in Matthew 311.

  321. He said, I'll baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire,

  322. with fire. So one of the things the Holy

  323. Spirit does in your life, he brings the fire.

  324. And a lot of people get divorced before they can get married.

  325. A lot of people get discouraged before the marriage grows.

  326. The word marriage in the Greek is gamayo, which means a

  327. blending together through intense heat and pressure.

  328. Hallelujah. You can say Amen.

  329. Or you could say oh me. But it's true.

  330. And what I say, most people get divorced because they don't let

  331. the pressure put them together. They let it pull them apart.

  332. When I was young growing up where there was Four Seasons in

  333. the great state of Ohio, I had a Mongoose bike with PEDs and I

  334. remember jumping that thing as a young man off the curbs and I

  335. end up breaking the frame on that thing.

  336. Well my father was an account for Worth and steel so after I

  337. broke the frame he took it to work and had won the welders

  338. Weld that part that was broken and after he got done putting it

  339. through the fire, he told my father.

  340. He said that's the strongest point on that frame now because

  341. it just went through the heat. So what I'm saying is don't let

  342. the devil pull you apart. You need to come together with

  343. the help of the Holy Ghost. You know he's going to burn some

  344. things off of you and your marriage covenant.

  345. Listen, your role, listen closely is not to play the part

  346. of the Holy Ghost for your spouse.

  347. I'll say it on this side. Your role, husband or wife, is

  348. not to play the role of the Holy Spirit for your spouse.

  349. You know a lot of people are praying.

  350. Lord, change my spouse. I'm going to submit to you.

  351. You need to pray. Lord, change me.

  352. Holy Ghost, what do I need to do?

  353. When we come into marriage counseling, there's typically a

  354. list of everything the other person is or isn't doing.

  355. And we have to refocus that list when we're meeting with him and

  356. say, listen, what is your role within the marriage covenant

  357. 'cause I don't care if he is Freddie the Freak.

  358. He could be and he needs slap spiritually, I get it, and put

  359. back in his place. But that doesn't mean that you

  360. still don't do your part. God is not going to judge you

  361. based upon what Freddie the Freak did or didn't do.

  362. He's going to base you on what did I call you to do?

  363. And you know, with the Holy Ghost, it's not natural, it's

  364. supernatural. With that anointing, you could

  365. help win and be solid and be stable in any situation.

  366. Hallelujah. So the Holy Ghost, the Bible

  367. says he's our helper. Guess what?

  368. He comes to bring help in the marriage covenant, He comes help

  369. in parenting, he comes to help the family.

  370. If there's brokenness, dysfunction, it says he's the

  371. healer. Acts 1038 said that how Jesus

  372. went about doing good healing, all that were pressed to the

  373. devil for the Holy Spirit was with him.

  374. There was an anointing to bring healing.

  375. Even if you grew up at transgenerationally and

  376. dysfunction after dysfunction, guess what?

  377. God can bring normality. It stops with you now and every

  378. generation after that it's going to be functioning in Christ.

  379. Amen. So you need the Holy Spirit

  380. operating to have a successful marriage company.

  381. He will lead you, guide you, remind you, and burn some things

  382. off. He'll strengthen you and He's

  383. the great God on the inside. Now second general principle or

  384. key, as Jesus said to Peter, I'll give you the keys of the

  385. Kingdom we can find in Corinthians, first Corinthians.

  386. Now first Corinthians. That's a messed up church you

  387. ever wrote. Read all 16 chapters, which we

  388. encourage an anchor faith church to read through the Bible.

  389. Amen. Hallelujah every year, but this

  390. is a spirit filled church. But they were a messed up

  391. church. In chapter one they had divided

  392. the church with their personalities.

  393. In chapter 2 they were operating in natural wisdom and not godly

  394. wisdom. In chapter 3, they're operating

  395. with a carnal, not mind and not a spiritual mind.

  396. In chapter four, they forgot who their spiritual father was.

  397. In chapter five, he had to deal with immorality.

  398. In chapter 6, they were bringing lawsuits against one another in

  399. the church. In Chapter 7, they had messed up

  400. marriages. In chapter 8, they had messed up

  401. their own lives. By operating in liberty.

  402. You don't have to do everything you have permission to do.

  403. The state of Florida has legalized a thing called

  404. marijuana. You don't have to do everything

  405. you have permission to do. So they had messed it up through

  406. liberty. In Chapter 9, they refused to be

  407. corrected. In chapter 10, they were given

  408. to idolatry. In Chapter 11, they messed up

  409. the communion table. In chapter 12, they messed up

  410. spiritual gifts. In chapter 13, they messed up

  411. love. In chapter 14, they had messed

  412. up public worship. In chapter 15, they had messed

  413. up the resurrection. This was a messed up church, but

  414. even in a mess, God can make a message.

  415. I think the most powerful thing is the apostle Paul was pinning

  416. this with the help of Holy Ghost is when we get to chapter 13 to

  417. cure the ill of the mess because that's the great love chapter.

  418. And I want to submit to you. If you're going to make your

  419. family effective and successful, you need to be operating the

  420. love of God. So I'm going to read you from

  421. the Amplified Bible, First Corinthians chapter 13, verses 4

    1 Corinthians 13:4–8

  422. through 8. And if you need help in your

  423. home, this is a great chapter to chew on day after day, minute

  424. after minute, week after week, month after month.

  425. And the Amplified reads it this way.

  426. Love endures with patience and serenity.

  427. Love is kind and it's thoughtful.

  428. It's not jealous or envious. Love does not brag and it's not

  429. proud or arrogant. Love is not rude.

  430. It's not self seeking. Love is not provoked, not overly

  431. sensitive and easily angered. Love does not take an account a

  432. wrong, endured. It does not rejoice as

  433. injustice, but rejoices with the truth when right and truth

  434. prevail. Love bears all things regardless

  435. of what comes, believes all things looking for the best in

  436. each other, hopes all things, remaining steadfast during

  437. difficult times. Love endures all things without

  438. weakening. Love never fails and never fades

  439. nor ends. What a power packed scriptures

  440. to help us overcome. Amen.

  441. So if you're in a mess, if you actually do these things, apply

  442. it like soap, guess what? You're going to start to see

  443. success in the family. Now there's three

  444. characteristics of love, There's three provisions of love, and

  445. there's three evidences of love. Now, I'm only going to give you

  446. the three evidences of love, but I want to insert right now.

  447. If you're a man, if you're a man, if you are a covenant man,

  448. you can learn these other six characteristics if you sign up

  449. for 3/18. Every man, if he's going to

  450. grow, needs accountability. Every man, if he's going to

  451. grow, needs discipleship. I'm going to lean in real heavy

  452. right now, and I believe this with all my heart.

  453. If there's a problem in the earth, God comes to the man

  454. first. It's not that the woman doesn't

  455. have a part or she's not held accountable, but I get that

  456. pattern from the Garden of Eden. And listen, in the Garden of

  457. Eden, before the church was founded, the home was founded

  458. because God and his mastery of architecture and blueprint knew

  459. he had to build a family and then build the church.

  460. So there's two vehicles or organizations or ordained

  461. institutions that God has operating in the earth today and

  462. it's the family and it's the church.

  463. But when the family fell in Genesis, guess what God did

  464. first? He came to the man and said,

  465. where are you? And my answer is I was at 3:18,

  466. 'cause I wouldn't have made the wrong decision.

  467. We know what Adam said. Well, it's the woman you gave

  468. me. But every man needs submitted to

  469. accountability other godly men. It's going to be an encouraged

  470. be able to encourage and sharpen them and then give them the

  471. discipleship tools to be successful.

  472. So I'll just double dog challenge you today.

  473. If you're considering thought about your wife's encouraging

  474. you to sign up for 3/18, take the challenge.

  475. The principles that I learned from Doctor Cole back when my

  476. journey began in 1997 revolutionized me as a man.

  477. It wasn't Arnold Schwarzenegger that set me free because there

  478. was a time in my life where I was looking at other men as

  479. mentors, but they weren't the man that I needed to emulate.

  480. It was the Lord Jesus Christ and he had an anointing and in a way

  481. of speaking to man, men that really set a foundation in my

  482. life. And I believe as the house is

  483. only go as well as the man goes, I don't believe if mama's happy,

  484. everybody's happy. I believe when the God says the

  485. man's in the right position, it gives the greatest propensity

  486. for the home. I'll say this as Jesus is a

  487. foundation to the church. A man is a foundation to the

  488. home and if the foundation is corrupt, the home is corrupt.

  489. So I was just kind of whet your appetite.

  490. If you're considering coming, it's going to be a challenge.

  491. There's going to be times when you feel like quitting.

  492. We've had men feel say we feel like throwing the books against

  493. the wall because it's challenging.

  494. It'll feel like it's stepping on your feet, slapping across the

  495. face, but it's a good, it's will do you good for your journey.

  496. To me, it's like the spiritual gym.

  497. There's only so much you can do by yourself if you're stuck on a

  498. lift, sometimes all you need is 2 fingers on a bench press to

  499. get you through that sticking point.

  500. And 318 could be those those spiritual principles and

  501. accountability to help you men get past some sticking points in

  502. your life. Amen.

  503. So the three evidences love are this because we're talking about

  504. First Corinthians 13 verses 4 through 8.

    1 Corinthians 13:4–8

  505. Evidence means this is how I prove that I love you.

  506. You ever told your wife that you love her?

  507. Has she ever said prove it? Hallelujah.

  508. Don't answer that out loud. But this goes for anything

  509. general or specific when it comes to love.

  510. So the evidence of loves is this.

  511. Number one, there's selflessness, not selfishness.

  512. A child is selfish in the center of its own universe.

  513. A child, if he doesn't get its own way, throws a temper

  514. tantrum. How?

  515. If you're 52 years old and throwing a temper tantrum in

  516. your marriage, you're acting like a child. 1st Corinthians 13

  517. says, when I was a child, I thought like a child.

  518. I spoke like a child, understood like a child.

  519. But Paul said it's time to put away childish things and an

  520. evidence of love is selflessness.

  521. Selflessness means I'm there's a lack of preoccupation with my

  522. own interest, advancement and desire.

  523. I'm more concerned with meeting the needs and desires of others.

  524. Hallelujah. So if you're a spouse, guess

  525. what? I'm more interested in meeting

  526. the needs of my spouse than I'm concerned about my own emotions,

  527. thoughts, or desires. Now, the great thing about God

  528. and all of His infinite wisdom, as you give, you're going to

  529. receive. See, a lot of people are trying

  530. to receive and then give, but by faith we give selflessness and

  531. then we receive the benefit. The second thing about the

  532. evidence of love is the desire to benefit the one loved.

  533. And a benefit means something that's produced that's good or

  534. helpful. Did you know helping with

  535. laundry is helpful? Do you know a real man can

  536. vacuum a rug? A real man can help clean the

  537. home. A real man could help get the

  538. kids ready for bed. A real man doesn't leave dirty

  539. dishes in the sink and fight with his wife as molds growing

  540. for a week to see who's going to do the dishes.

  541. Hallelujah, Hallelujah. The third thing of an evidence

  542. of love, how I prove is a desire for unity.

  543. And this only comes through communication.

  544. You know, there's three big things in the marriage covenant,

  545. communication, sex and money. And the last two hinge on the

  546. first one, communication. If you can't communicate, the

  547. other two aren't going to progress.

  548. But you can't have unity without learning how to talk.

  549. But in evidence of love means I'm going to be unified, which

  550. means men, you need to learn how to communicate.

  551. Now you know the average man speaks a lot less words than the

  552. average woman. That's when That's why when you

  553. come home after 8 hours, 10 hours at work and your wife

  554. asked you, honey, how was your day?

  555. You say it was good one adjective to describe being gone

  556. 8 to 10 hours. And then she'll start asking you

  557. some questions and you think she's nagging you when all she

  558. wants to do is be intimately acquainted with you and know how

  559. your day was. So men, we need to learn how to

  560. talk. Amen.

  561. Now I'm I'm going to bring this plane in for a landing.

  562. I'm going to give you 2 keys for the women.

  563. And to be have equality. I'm not going to do anything for

  564. the men. I'm just kidding.

  565. I'm going to give you 2 keys for the men.

  566. So Are you ready? Let's go to Proverbs 2715.

  567. Hallelujah. A continue dripping on a very

  568. rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

  569. Well, this will make you want to run away.

  570. Now, the the keyword is continual.

  571. Ladies, when you practice something, that means you

  572. perpetually do it. So if this happens occasionally,

  573. it's not continual. Are you with me?

  574. So there's no condemnation, only conviction to bring you up

  575. because we're to advance always, right?

  576. So if you want to go to a higher rank or level, don't be

  577. contentious. And it says continually.

  578. So I don't practice this. This is why you need the Holy

  579. Ghost, because the Holy Spirit will tap you on the inside and

  580. say, my daughter, you are being continually contentious.

  581. Now, what's contentious? It means you find fault.

  582. It means you like to fight. You're a brawler.

  583. You're antagonistic. I'll say this way, you always

  584. put him down. Contentious means that you're

  585. against and you're a rivalry. Instead of completing, you're

  586. competing in the Garden of Eden. It was oneness, Adam said.

  587. She's bone in my bone and flesh in my flesh.

  588. They were to be one unit, harmony and concord.

  589. She wasn't competing against God.

  590. She was completing her assignment in God's picture of

  591. what the marriage should look like and operate like.

  592. But you can be a contentious woman when you're complaining

  593. fault finding you're always against your husband.

  594. You know, the Bible says, and I'll give this I was said and

  595. tithe and offering time that women you need to if you're if

  596. you're a single woman, one of the first requirements.

  597. Obviously they need to be born again, but they need to have a

  598. job, right, because God gave Adam a job before he gave him

  599. his wife. But do you know that the Bible

  600. says when he formed Eve, he made a woman that was going to be for

  601. him. So if you if for men, if you

  602. want to, if you're single and you're trying to get a candidate

  603. as a wife, you need to make sure that she's for you.

  604. And a contentious woman continually is always against

  605. her husband. Always fight, fight, fault

  606. finding, criticizing, complaining, putting down.

  607. And I'll say this is typically typically because she's not well

  608. with herself and you need the Holy Ghost to touch that part of

  609. your life so you can come alongside him.

  610. The Message Bible reads it like this.

  611. A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky

  612. faucet. You can't turn it off and you

  613. can't get away from it. How many men want to come home

  614. to that? Proverbs 2119 says this.

  615. It's better to dwell in the wilderness than when they can

  616. with a contentious and an angry woman.

  617. So listen, I'm going to give you an antidote, ladies.

  618. If you feel contentious, frustrated, fussy, disappointed,

  619. there's an antidote. What's an antidote?

  620. A lot of times we use that in conjunction when when you get

  621. bit with something that's poisonous, that could end your

  622. life. And listen, contention can end

  623. your life. What I mean by that it's not

  624. necessary that you'll be separated as far as death, but

  625. death means separation. You could be separated from your

  626. spouse and God never wanted to be like that because year after

  627. year, decade after decade, all you do is be contentious.

  628. But a lot of times we use an antidote as this, you've been

  629. bitten by something and they got to give you an antidote.

  630. What to cure what the poison was and in in Ephesians chapter 4

    Ephesians 4:31–32

  631. verses 31 through 32, God gives an antidote for in this specific

  632. scenario, I'm talking about the wife to be healed.

  633. I'm going to read this from the amplified Bible.

  634. It says this, let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour,

  635. perpetual animosity, resentment, strife, fault finding and

  636. slander be put away from you, along with every kind of malice,

  637. all spitefulness, verbal abuse. Now the listen to verse 32.

  638. Because this is the cure. This is the cure.

  639. Are you with me? Say this is the cure.

  640. Be kind, helpful to one another, tender hearted, compassionate,

  641. understanding. And I'm going to hone in on

  642. this, forgiving one another readily and freely, just as God

  643. in Christ also forgave you. Now forgiveness, if you want

  644. health and wholeness and you don't want to be a contentious

  645. woman, you need to make sure that you're in forgiveness.

  646. Forgiveness comes on three levels or three dimensions #1 if

  647. you don't done wrong, thank, thank the Lord that he's given

  648. us a key, a fundamental that we can run to if we blow it.

  649. And it's a thing called repentance and forgiveness.

  650. First, we go before God and we say we're sorry that we blew it.

  651. Secondly, we go before those that we've injured or harm and

  652. say, guess what? I'm, you know what that does in

  653. the marriage when you say I'm the one instead of you're the

  654. one boy that disarms and dismounts some arguments, but

  655. you go before the injured or the offended party, say please

  656. forgive me. And then thirdly, you need to

  657. make sure you forgive yourself. That's self help and self-care.

  658. self-care. When you say, Lord, you're not

  659. holding that against me anymore. I've asked, asked for your

  660. forgiveness. I've applied the blood and guess

  661. what? You're not holding that against

  662. me. So I don't need to hold that

  663. against myself. So listen, drop it, release it

  664. and let it go. That's the cure for contention

  665. is love in that dynamic. The second specific principle I

  666. want to give you as a wife and end on a positive.

  667. Listen, there's so many principles in the word of God.

  668. I'm just trying to Wet Wet your taste buds to two so you

  669. continue to read the word and find these truths so that you

  670. can be a success. Proverbs 1914 says this.

  671. Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a

  672. prudent wife is from the Lord. Hallelujah.

  673. I like that the writer in this wisdom literature of Proverbs

  674. saw that there was more value in treasure in a wife than just

  675. gold, silver and riches. What a picture.

  676. Husbands, you need to look at your wife as a treasure chest.

  677. She's so valuable. And when woman you need to see

  678. yourself as that and be prudent. Cause a prudent wife is from the

  679. Lord and you want to have that in your marriage cover.

  680. Now prudence means this, to be circumspect, to have insight,

  681. wisely understand and cause to prosper.

  682. I'll repeat that to be prudent means to be circumspect to have

  683. insight to wisely understand and cause to prosper.

  684. So prudent wife has these characteristics of circumspect

  685. having insight wisely understanding her husband and

  686. causes the household to prosper. That's a prudent woman and

  687. really this all that gives a a picture or definition of a godly

  688. wife examines all sides and as insight or introspection and

  689. knowledge and skill and view into the interior of anything.

  690. A prudent wife means she sees everything.

  691. She examines everything. She has thorough knowledge and

  692. skill. She has view on the interior of

  693. anything. When I think of that, it makes

  694. me think that God, when you created woman, you pulled her

  695. from the inside of man. So she knows what's going on

  696. inside of you and you pulled her from a thing called a rib, which

  697. brings protection. So a prudent wife is going to

  698. bring protection and see things and discern things that are

  699. going on around the home in the home or trying to come against

  700. the home. And she's going to come and help

  701. the the house to prosper becomes she becomes an aide.

  702. So prudent wife is a great blessing and a prudent woman is

  703. wise. A prudent woman, when she sees

  704. her husband taking out the trash, she'll say freeze.

  705. He'll be like what? And she'll say, you look good

  706. taking out that trash. That's a prudent life.

  707. Proverbs 14 one says this, the wise woman builds her house.

  708. A prudent woman built her house, but the foolish 1 pulls it down

  709. with her own hands. Wow, that is a sobering but at

  710. the same time exciting scripture because the ability to to

  711. succeed is in your own power. Joshua 24 says this.

  712. Joshua said I've said before you life and death choose life.

  713. This verse teaches you women how to choose life and how to

  714. succeed in the marriage covenant.

  715. And a prudent woman will bring blessing, prosperity, goodness

  716. and growth to that home. Proverbs 31 is a wonderful book

  717. because primarily the greatest percentage of that is about what

  718. a godly woman looks like and operates with men.

  719. Women. You should be encouraged to go

  720. read that because it taught She was in business.

  721. She prayed at night. That's what I get out of because

  722. she said she worked at night. So she was like the psalmist

  723. that said even at night, my heart is meditating upon the

  724. word. She'll get up and cover her

  725. household in prayer. I plead the blood of Jesus.

  726. My kids are going to serve the Lord.

  727. My husband's going to serve God. We have peace in this house.

  728. Ain't no woman, loose woman or anything else going to come

  729. against my kids, My husband, she will pray.

  730. She'll be a woman of virtue. And you know what the Bible

  731. says? That her household will rise up

  732. and call her blessed. Why?

  733. Because she doesn't pull down the house, but she builds it

  734. because she's prudent. And what a prayer to pray.

  735. God, if you're a wife, I need wisdom today.

  736. Operate. Thank you for the anointing to

  737. operate in this role and be a great blessing and benefit to my

  738. household. Now we get to the men.

  739. Hallelujah Colossians chapter 3 verse #19 I find this verse

    Colossians 3 chapter mention

  740. interesting because this is written to the church at

  741. Colossae which is a spirit filled tongue talking Bible

  742. believe in church but yet the Holy Ghost by inspiration of

  743. Paul pin this in the Bible. So there's obviously something

  744. going on that need to be addressed with the men in their

  745. role and the Holy Spirit identifies it.

  746. He said husbands love your wise and do not be bitter toward

  747. them. This isn't a fleshly carnal

  748. person. This is a spirit filled

  749. believer. And yet there's a propensity to

  750. be bitter towards your wife. What does bitter mean?

  751. It means you're sharp, you're sarcastic, you're biting.

  752. You know what it means to bite. You give a quick answer because

  753. you're irritated. You're on edge.

  754. You could be angry, right? This word bitter means you're

  755. painful to the mind. What an indictment.

  756. You don't want your wife to think of you as being painful to

  757. her. When you go home, she should

  758. want you home. When you go home, she should say

  759. my husband's home. There's stability, there's

  760. security, there's identity. When my husband come homes, he

  761. brings an atmosphere with them of peace and righteousness and

  762. joy. You don't want to come home as a

  763. bitter man. And she's thinking, I wish he

  764. would have stayed at work. Hallelujah.

  765. A Kingdom man is well received in his house.

  766. I'll say it again, a Kingdom man is well received in his house.

  767. He's not sharp, he's not sarcastic, he's not body, he's

  768. not painful to the mind. That's because we operate in a

  769. thing called love, man. It says love your wife.

  770. Don't be bitter or acidic to them.

  771. The word love. I want to give you one

  772. definition, definition of love to cure bitterness.

  773. And you know the Bible says in First Corinthians 13, as we read

  774. it already, love is long-suffering.

  775. One translation says love is patient.

  776. Patience means I have a long Wick.

  777. You remember Wild Coyote and the Roadrunner?

  778. And he's always trying to blow him up with dynamite.

  779. And every time when it didn't explode, he would go look at the

  780. Wick, right? And it was right there going to

  781. explode. But don't be explosive.

  782. Have a long Wick, man. This isn't you.

  783. This is the supernatural power of God working inside of you.

  784. That's why you got to say I got patience.

  785. I got the love of God on the inside of me.

  786. I have a long Wick. I'm long-suffering.

  787. I can, I like this. Patience means I can't endure.

  788. I'm just not built for a good time.

  789. I'm built for a long time. And this journey is not a

  790. Sprint, it's a marathon. And so for me to come to 318 and

  791. be around other godly men and have accountability, I'm going

  792. to learn a thing called patience, which means I got

  793. endurance. I can do it.

  794. I'm not going to grow weary in well doing, even though she's

  795. acting like someone who sits on a broomstick right now.

  796. I got a thing called endurance and my love is going to conquer

  797. her crazy Cray Cray right now because she acting funny.

  798. But guess what? Patience Trump's that weirdness.

  799. Hallelujah. You know, there's certain times

  800. of the month. I'll keep this real general.

  801. That'd be good for you men to notate on your calendar.

  802. So a week prior to that date, you can practice a little more

  803. patience instead of thinking what is wrong with this woman?

  804. This is the woman, she's what's going on.

  805. The emotions are all and God's saying, listen, long Wick

  806. endurance, listen. Patience means you're constant

  807. and you're steadfast. You know man, if you're going to

  808. overcome bitterness, you need to be like Jesus.

  809. Jesus was the same yesterday, today and forever.

  810. Instability in the man creates instability in the home.

  811. Jesus was never in stable or unstable with the church.

  812. He got. He got great.

  813. He brought great stability to the church, and men should bring

  814. great stability to the home. I know this is kind of a graphic

  815. picture, but I'm, I'm going to plant this in your mind.

  816. When you talk about constancy, endurance and steadfastness, it

  817. really gives a picture of a statue.

  818. And a statue doesn't change no matter what happens to it.

  819. And my wife, when we used to live in Oklahoma, she was taking

  820. the Turnpike back from Norman, a Broken Arrow.

  821. And you got to stop there to pay.

  822. And when she reached out to pay, there was a bird that Pooh

  823. poohed on her arm. Can you imagine the timing just

  824. like that? And it hit her.

  825. Matter of fact, it happened to my daughter at Washington DC

  826. trip, right? That's a curse.

  827. I cursed that bird poop off a family.

  828. But I think of of a statue. If a statue gets pooped on, it

  829. stays the same. So if you're getting that in

  830. your marriage, men, just be steady.

  831. You realize if you freak out, she's going to freak out.

  832. You realize if you react and not respond to the emotions, come

  833. on, man. You're like, man, if I would

  834. have just handled that better, it wouldn't get dragged on for

  835. four weeks. Be honest.

  836. If I would have handled that better, I could have been a cure

  837. and I added to I've been there before.

  838. I thought, OK, I'll learn patience steadfast, right?

  839. I want to close with this Ephesians chapter 5 verses 25

    Ephesians 5:25–27

  840. through 27. I'm going to read this from the

  841. amplified Bible. It says, Husbands, love your

  842. wives, seek the highest good for her, and surround her with a

  843. caring, unselfish love, just as Christ also loved the church.

  844. And he gave himself up for her so that Jesus might sanctify the

  845. church, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the

  846. Word of God, so that in turn He might present the church to

  847. Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any

  848. such thing, but that she should be holy, set apart for and

  849. blameless. What a great scripture.

  850. I want to take one principle out of that, though.

  851. He said that He would cleanse her with the washing of the

  852. water by the Word. Men, what are you saying to your

  853. wife? Men, what are you constantly

  854. communicating to your wife? We were in a counselling meeting

  855. one time and my wife and I and I remember this.

  856. The husband literally said she's a small ball and chain.

  857. Do you know in Proverbs 1821, it says life and death are in the

  858. power of the tongue. Those that love, it's going to

  859. eat the fruit of it. That speaks of bondage.

  860. Why in the world would I want to confess with my words that have

  861. creative power? You're, you're made in the image

  862. of God and in his image He's given us creative power on the

  863. inside also. So in Genesis, guess what God

  864. did when he created the world? He spoke it into existence.

  865. God said it, He saw it and he saw that it was good.

  866. Notice, notice a pattern. God said it, then he saw it, and

  867. then he saw that it was good. Husbands, if you would say it,

  868. then you would see it and you would see that it is good.

  869. Too many times though, men are wanting to see it and then say

  870. it by face. Say it.

  871. Call her a woman of God. Call her anointed woman.

  872. Call her bless. Call her full of peace.

  873. Call her full of prosperity. Call her what God calls her.
