  1. We're going to have to take a drink today.

  2. OK, All right, I'm prepping you because for this whole month

  3. we're going to be ministering on the gifts of the Spirit or

  4. supernatural gifts, and we're going to do it all month.

  5. So I'm going to do today, set you up, get you lit.

  6. Can I say that get you lit on fire so that you're expecting so

  7. that you're drawing, But then next week pastor's going to come

  8. in and and minister on the three power gifts.

  9. Those are the gifts that do something.

  10. And then the last two Sundays I'm going to minister on the

  11. revelation gifts and the inspirational gifts.

  12. So these gifts of the spirit, you may be like, wait, what?

  13. What is that? What are those?

  14. We're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about it a

  15. little bit today and we're going to understand how we can be in a

  16. position to move more and the gifts of the Spirit as a body,

  17. because you know, God wants to move through you and the

  18. supernatural gifts of the Spirit.

  19. And but if we're not full and we're not ready, then we're not

  20. in a position to eagerly desire them like the Scripture says.

  21. So we're going to start with some foundation.

  22. I'm going to lay some foundation.

  23. So whether you've been here a week or you've been here for 10

  24. years, you better be expecting and you better be drawing

  25. because the Holy Ghost wants to minister to us and speak to us

  26. this morning. So our foundation, you and I

  27. should be moving and operating in this and we're going to have

  28. to change the course of it today.

  29. I have about 20 pages, but it is font 3:30.

  30. So don't worry about it, OK? Because so I'll be, I'll be

  31. every two seconds I'll be flipping a page because that

  32. font, I like that big old font. OK, so let's start by talking

  33. about the Holy Ghost. OK, Now you know this is the

  34. church age and you know this is the dispensation of the Spirit

  35. of God. That's what this is.

  36. And Jesus told us in John 16, seven, He said, nevertheless, I

  37. tell you the truth, it's to your advantage that I go away.

  38. He said it's way, way better, way better if I go away, for if

  39. I do not go away, the helper will not come to you.

  40. But if I depart, I'll send him to you.

  41. The helper that literally is the Paraclete, the one that's called

  42. alongside you to help. And that Paraclete, he is your

  43. comforter. He's your comforter.

  44. He's your advocate, he's your intercessor, he's your

  45. counselor, he's your strengthener, and he's your

  46. standby. That's what he does for us, the

  47. Paraclete. And you know, the Scripture says

  48. that the Holy Spirit loves, he loves you.

  49. The Spirit. We know God loves you.

  50. We know we we've heard it a million times, Jesus loves you.

  51. But you know, the Bible says that the Holy Ghost loves you.

  52. He loves you. And it says he thinks, he feels,

  53. he speaks, he has a mind, he's also grieved, he's also quenched

  54. at times, and he can be resisted.

  55. He's a person, He's not a dove, he's not the wind.

  56. He's not some impersonal thing that you just have whenever you

  57. want him. He's not just something that,

  58. oh, when I'm in a trial or when I'm, when I'm dealing with

  59. something, I really need a word from God.

  60. I'm now I'm going to ask him. No, he's there for you all the

  61. time, every day, every minute of the day.

  62. You're supposed to be with him in partnership with him.

  63. He's supposed to be your closest partner, closer than your

  64. spouse. So we're going to talk about it.

  65. Second Corinthians chapter 13, verse 11, Second Corinthians 13

    2 Corinthians 13:11 2 Corinthians 13:11

  66. verse 11 says, finally, brethren, and you know Paul and

  67. this benediction, you know, when you're leaving somebody for a

  68. while, you've got some important words you want to say to them.

  69. So he tells them in these, in these final scriptures, he says,

  70. brethren, farewell, become complete, be of good comfort, be

  71. of one mind, live in peace and the God of love and peace will

  72. be with you. Greet one another with a holy

  73. kiss. All the Saints greet you, the

  74. grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and listen

  75. the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you.

  76. All that word communion means partnership, it means joint

  77. participation, it means intimacy, it means intercourse

  78. intercourse. It also means my partner and my

  79. sharer in everything. So the scripture is saying he,

  80. you're to be in constant communion, partnership,

  81. fellowship, intercourse, participation with the Holy

  82. Ghost all the time. So let's take just a minute and

  83. explain because remember our goal is to talk about spiritual

  84. gifts or the gifts of the spirit.

  85. So we need to 1st understand the difference between the spirit

  86. within and the spirit upon. So when you get born again, this

  87. the Holy Ghost, you, you are a spirit.

  88. We understand this whether you're born again or not, you

  89. are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body.

  90. And when you made Jesus the Lord of your life, the Holy Ghost,

  91. the Holy Spirit came to live within your spirit man.

  92. But your spirit is still there and you either have what the

  93. Bible calls a strong spirit or a weak spirit.

  94. And we need to be a church that have strong spirits.

  95. The spirit of the man can, can, can cause you to overcome or

  96. conquer sickness, conquer poverty, conquer, lag, conquer

  97. anything. If you have a strong spirit now

  98. you can walk around here and say, Yep, I'm spirit filled.

  99. Yep, I go to a spirit filled church.

  100. And you know what? Honestly that word is used way

  101. too loosely. Because you're spirit filled yet

  102. you're super carnal. I'd have to say I'm not saying

  103. you are, I'm just giving an example.

  104. You're super carnal, maybe in an area of your life.

  105. Then I'd have to say you're not spirit filled.

  106. You're not full. Can I say that you're not full

  107. of the spirit? The Holy Ghost is in you, but

  108. you're either yielded to him daily or not.

  109. So we're going to make a, an effort today when we leave here,

  110. that we're going to stay full, that we're not going to let our

  111. natural thinking, our own plans, our own desires get in the way

  112. of our intimacy with the Holy Ghost.

  113. Amen. All right, so the 9 fruits of

  114. the Spirit go with and are in you when you get born again.

  115. That's from Galatians 5. The fruits of the spirit, love

  116. and joy and peace and patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness,

  117. faithfulness and self-control. So those are all in you.

  118. Now whether you decide to yield to those or not is up to you,

  119. but they are in your born again recreated spirit.

  120. I can, I can walk in the love of God that's been shed abroad in

  121. my heart by the Holy Ghost or not.

  122. I can be patient or not. I can be kind or not.

  123. You choose if you're going to yield to those fruits of the

  124. spirit. So when you get born again, you

  125. have those fruits to develop character within you.

  126. Proverbs 2027 says the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord,

  127. searching all the inward parts of the belly.

  128. So the Holy Ghost within you at, at salvation, he is searching

  129. all the inward parts of you and you should let him do that.

  130. You should allow the work of the Holy Ghost within your heart.

  131. John 414 says, But whoever drinks, there's that word drink.

  132. We're going to talk about it again in a minute.

  133. Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never

  134. thirst, will never thirst, but the water that I shall give him

  135. will become in him. This is talking about the Holy

  136. Ghost within you, in him, a fountain of water springing up

  137. to everlasting life. Now that word springing up means

  138. like to leap up. The Zoe life of God is in you.

  139. It's it's the Zoe like like I'm jumping.

  140. It's in you. It's big.

  141. The greater 1 is in you. So you have the Holy Ghost

  142. within you all the time. The Zoway life of God.

  143. That's the spirit within. That's a spirit within you.

  144. You are, you know, the Bible talks about you are the temple

  145. of the Holy Ghost. You are the House of God.

  146. We are corporately the house, the corporate house, but your

  147. temple is also the House of God. You are the temple of the Holy

  148. Ghost. But are we aware, You know, one

  149. of the issues about the gifts of the Spirit and we'll get there

  150. is that we're not even thinking about them.

  151. And I won't have a show of hands, but, but I guarantee you,

  152. a lot of us don't really understand the gifts of the

  153. Spirit. And we're certainly not thinking

  154. about them and we're definitely not desiring them.

  155. We're changing that this month, OK?

  156. Because when this month is over, we should have a clear

  157. understanding about it and we should be open in our hearts,

  158. open in our spirit to say, God, I'm here, I desire, I hunger for

  159. spiritual gifts. Use me.

  160. Use me in whatever you want to do.

  161. And that's how we're going to be when this is over.

  162. So the Spirit within is for holiness, is for character, is

  163. for searching all the inward parts of you.

  164. And that's that's where you start getting born again.

  165. He begins to heal, He begins to mend.

  166. You know, he came to heal the broken hearted and to bind up

  167. the wounds. And that's what he does.

  168. That's what the Spirit of God does.

  169. He heals you. He speaks to you, He ministers

  170. to you, He comforts you, He does everything that you need on the

  171. inside. Now the Spirit upon the baptism

  172. of the Holy Ghost is for service, is for power, is for

  173. the thing that God's called you to do.

  174. If we don't understand these basic things, then we, we won't

  175. accurately operate in the gifts of the Spirit.

  176. So the Spirit upon you is for power.

  177. And you know in the Kingdom of God, you, you have a gift, you

  178. have a call, everyone of you, there's a gift and a call that

  179. God has called you to. That is without repentance,

  180. which means He did not change his mind about it.

  181. Whatever He's called you to do, that's what He's called you to

  182. do. And if we'll get really, really

  183. efficient in learning how to be led by the Holy Ghost, then

  184. we'll walk in His perfect will for our lives.

  185. You can hear Him. You know the Bible says you do

  186. hear him, and you do know Him. You hear His voice and another

  187. voice you don't ever have to follow.

  188. You don't ever have to follow another voice, just His.

  189. And you can be so intimate with him, so in partnership with Him

  190. that there's no confusion. You know, when I sit with

  191. someone and they tell me, you know, I just, I just don't think

  192. I hear God. I just don't know if I'm hearing

  193. God, then they're not staying built up in the Spirit.

  194. They're not staying in the Word of God and in the Holy Ghost

  195. building themselves up in their most holy faith.

  196. And that's the key. So the Holy Ghost upon you have

  197. to have the Holy Ghost, the baptism of the Holy Ghost before

  198. you can operate in the gifts of the Spirit.

  199. So the Holy Spirit within you is character is the 9 fruits.

  200. The Holy Spirit upon you is the 9 gifts of the Spirit, which

  201. we're going to get to make sense.

  202. We understand all that. OK, Acts chapter one, verse 8

  203. says, But you shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has

  204. come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and

  205. in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

  206. So when it says you shall be a witness, this is the Holy Spirit

  207. coming upon you to to be a witness to serve.

  208. And when it says Jerusalem, that's your home, that's your

  209. home base. He's equipped you, He's anointed

  210. you. He's giving you power to parent,

  211. power to be a spouse, power. I'm talking about power, OK?

  212. I'm not talking about I'm just I'm just got this ball and chain

  213. and I'm just, you know, at home with my spouse and my kids.

  214. And what a drain. And your home should not be

  215. that. Your home should be full of

  216. life, full of joy, full of peace.

  217. You ought not to be somebody who has a form of godliness but

  218. denies the power on the inside and upon you.

  219. He's anointed you for Jerusalem, He's anointed you for your home,

  220. He's anointed you for Judea. That's relatives, close friends.

  221. He's anointed you to be a witness to serve Samaria, the

  222. community without God. He's anointed us, all of us, for

  223. this community that does not have the Lord Jesus.

  224. He's anointed us for that and for the end of the earth, all

  225. the nations wherever he's called us to go.

  226. You like my my page, We're on like page 10 already.

  227. John 737 through 39. This is the Holy Spirit upon

  228. you. Remember John 414 was the Holy

  229. Spirit within you. It said in him, in him, in him.

  230. Now listen to 37 through 39. If anyone thirsts, let him come

  231. to me and drink. He who believes in me, as a

  232. Scripture has said, out of, out of, out of, instead of in Him,

  233. out of His heart will flow rivers of living water.

  234. Rivers of living water. But this he spoke concerning the

  235. Spirit whom those believing in Him would receive.

  236. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet

  237. glorified. So differing from in Him we have

  238. supposed to flow out of us rivers of living water.

  239. And that includes the gifts of the Holy Ghost, that includes

  240. the gifts of the Spirit. What happened in the book of

  241. Acts should be happening, but in an increased measure.

  242. Now we are the, this should be the acts of the Church of Anchor

  243. Faith Church, the acts of the Holy Ghost through Anchor Faith

  244. Church. That's what it should.

  245. We should be writing those pages today that we're operating in

  246. the gifts of the Spirit. You know, he wants to confirm

  247. his word with signs following. So you may have a lot to say and

  248. you may be able to articulate the word of God to people in

  249. your job, in your community, But does the Lord want to give a

  250. word of wisdom through you? Does he want to give a word of

  251. knowledge? Does he want for you to be able

  252. to look at that person and tell them something, that they go?

  253. How did you know that? Well, I didn't, but the Holy

  254. Ghost did, and the Lord knew and He wants to guide you.

  255. And those are the things that cause movement in people, that

  256. cause them to go, wow. Not only could they speak the

  257. word of God that had wisdom and had power, but then God did

  258. something in my heart through them.

  259. And we've got to be available and hungry and ready for these

  260. things. So let's turn to 1st Corinthians

  261. chapter 12. Let's look at them, the nine

  262. supernatural gifts of the Spirit, verse one.

  263. Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to

  264. be ignorant. You know you can be super smart

  265. and still be ignorant, he says concerning spiritual guest.

  266. Brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.

  267. You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb

  268. idols, however you were led. Therefore, I make known to you

  269. that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus

  270. accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the

  271. Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts,

  272. but the same Spirit. There are diverse differences of

  273. ministries, but the same Lord, and there are diversities of

  274. activities, but it's the same God who works All in all.

  275. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for

  276. the profit of all. For to one is given the word of

  277. wisdom through the spirit to another, the word of knowledge

  278. through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same

  279. Spirit, to another, gifts of healings, by the same Spirit to

  280. another, the working of miracles, to another, prophecy

  281. to another, discerning of spirits, to another, different

  282. kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

  283. But one and the same spirit works all of these things,

  284. distributing to each one individually as he wills.

  285. Now jump down to verse 31. It says but earnestly desire the

  286. best gifts and yet I'll show you a more excellent way.

  287. So there are three gifts that and you should write this down

  288. because by the end of this month we should have a clear

  289. understanding of these gifts of the Spirit.

  290. There are three that reveal that are called the revelation gifts

  291. and that's the Word of Wisdom, the word of knowledge and

  292. discerning of spirits. The Word of Wisdom, the word of

  293. knowledge and discerning of spirits.

  294. There are three that do something which pastor will

  295. cover next Sunday and they're called the power gifts.

  296. That's the gift of faith, which is not your everyday live by

  297. faith, faith and we'll talk about it.

  298. Working of miracles and gifts of healings.

  299. Those are the power gifts. And then there are three that

  300. say something or they're in, we call them inspirational gifts or

  301. gifts of utterance. And that's a gift of prophecy,

  302. the gift of tongues and interpretation of tongues.

  303. Now go back to verse one. It says now concerning spiritual

  304. gifts, you know that word gifts was added.

  305. So what it really says is now concerning spirituals.

  306. Concerning spirituals, I do not want you to be ignorant.

  307. Another way of saying that would be concerning spiritual things.

  308. Another translation says concerning the things of the

  309. Spirit, I don't want you to be ignorant.

  310. And then there's another translation that I like

  311. concerning the special supernatural abilities that the

  312. Holy Ghost gives us. I don't want you to be ignorant.

  313. So this is saying concerning these spiritual things, these

  314. supernatural things that the Holy Spirit wants to do through

  315. you. He doesn't want us to be

  316. ignorant. That word ignorant just means

  317. uninformed, unaware, without sound teaching or to ignore, or

  318. just simply not aware of, not aware of.

  319. This is most of the church in all honesty, most of the church

  320. we are not aware we might read the scripture and confuse faith,

  321. confuse tongues with our everyday building our self up

  322. tongues. We confuse those things instead

  323. of understanding clearly that these gifts, these things are

  324. supernatural and they are as the Spirit of God wills.

  325. But you have to be in a position to say, Lord, I earnestly desire

  326. these, and if you want to move through me for a supernatural

  327. gift of faith or a working of a miracle, I'm ready.

  328. I think the problem part of the problem is that we're not

  329. confident enough to believe that God would do something like that

  330. through us. You better get your confidence

  331. up. You better understand who you

  332. are through in Christ because of Him, because it's not you who

  333. lives, but it's Christ that lives within you.

  334. And if you'll get that revelation every single day,

  335. then when you get up in the morning, it won't matter how you

  336. feel. It won't matter what's happening

  337. in your life because you can say the greater 1 lives within me.

  338. I have a conqueror on the inside.

  339. Thank you Lord for this day. This is a day you made and I'll

  340. rejoice and I'll be glad in it. It's your choice every day,

  341. every day. If you're going to choose life

  342. or death every day, nobody can choose it for you.

  343. And it's not impressive if you can just choose it when you're

  344. at church. There's nothing cute about it.

  345. Nobody loves it. When we see you at Walmart and

  346. you're doing something real weird, nobody likes it.

  347. Nobody thinks that's mature. It's not.

  348. It's not. You need to know who you are and

  349. you need to know that the greater 1 lives in you.

  350. This, this should not be our church.

  351. When I say this is most of the church, this is not going to be

  352. our church. We're going to walk in these

  353. gifts, be available for these gifts.

  354. They should be operating not just here in the church, but

  355. outside of the church because they are an example.

  356. They are Christ confirming his word because we're we're

  357. stepping out in faith and saying, God, use me.

  358. I desire these spiritual gifts. So we're not going to be

  359. ignorant. Amen.

  360. Verse 7 says, but the manifestation of the Spirit is

  361. given to each one for the prophet of all.

  362. And that word manifestation means it's something that the

  363. Holy Ghost does, that is seen, it's obvious, it's clear, the

  364. manifestation of the Spirit. He wants the holy, the work of

  365. the Holy Ghost to be seen, to be clear, to be evident.

  366. And when it says to each one, another translation says to

  367. every man. That means anyone, anyone can

  368. yield to a gift of the Spirit. A baby, new baby in Christ could

  369. yield to a gift of the Spirit. That doesn't make them mature.

  370. It just means they were yielded. It just means they were willing.

  371. It just means they opened themselves up to be obedient

  372. when the Holy Ghost moved upon them.

  373. To each one or every man is given to profit with all.

  374. So it means everybody would profit.

  375. It brings profit to the body of Christ.

  376. It brings profit to you because you gave and you served prophet

  377. to the one hearing. It brings prophet to all.

  378. Now verse 11 says, but one and the same Spirit works all these

  379. things, distributing to each one as He wills.

  380. These are as the Spirit of God wills.

  381. But if He wills and we're not ready and we're not even think

  382. about thinking about it, how's He going to use us?

  383. If he. If he.

  384. Moves across the congregation and and wants someone to yield

  385. to a tongue or an interpretation of tongue or or gifts of

  386. healings or or any other gift and and we we stand there we go.

  387. No, he. Doesn't want to use.

  388. Me, I don't know if I could do that.

  389. I don't know if I can go forward.

  390. Then he's going to find somebody else that's going to be willing

  391. to do it. And and if nobody's willing to

  392. do it, then you understand how selfish it is because the Spirit

  393. of God wanted to communicate something and we chose to be

  394. locked up. I speak out of experience

  395. because I've been locked up more than once and and still being

  396. called to the ministry. I've I've more than once, but

  397. especially in years past, have gone up to pastor after the

  398. service and went I had something and I didn't do it and I didn't

  399. yield to it. Not no more.

  400. If we have something, we've got to yield to it.

  401. We and you're, you're going to miss it, maybe.

  402. You. It may not.

  403. Be for the body. It may be just for you and

  404. pastors said this a million times.

  405. Step out. How you going to learn how you

  406. going to grow if you don't just step out, come down here and

  407. we'll tell you, Nope, that's for you.

  408. That was actually for you or Yep, that's for the body.

  409. Get up there and share it. Marissa didn't want to come up

  410. here and speak the scripture. And I said it's the scripture,

  411. it's alive. Say only.

  412. That's all you got to say. Just get up there and read it.

  413. The word is alive. But yielding to those promptings

  414. and those promptings are not just for this setting.

  415. Those promptings are at home when the Holy Ghost says go

  416. apologize to your spouse. I'm not talking about a gift.

  417. Of the Spirit here. I'm just talking about yielding.

  418. You don't need a. Gift of the Holy Ghost surely to

  419. apologize to your spouse, you need to just be yielded to him.

  420. You need to just listen and obey on the inside now First

  421. Corinthians 12/31 says covet earnestly the best gifts.

  422. Are we coveting, Are we earnestly desiring that word

  423. covet? You know, this is a, this is a

  424. good place for us to covet. We're not coveting somebody's

  425. car or their house or things like that.

  426. We're coveting spiritual gifts and we're not coveting spiritual

  427. gifts so that we can be in the spotlight.

  428. Because if you're coveting a spiritual gift so that you can

  429. shine, your heart is going to be exposed anyway and you're going

  430. to need to sit down. Because nobody.

  431. Wants to hear from you. If your heart's not right, it's

  432. just like the scripture we just read.

  433. Greet each other with a holy kiss.

  434. Well, I could greet you with a holy kiss, but if there's a man

  435. around here that's greeting with a kiss because he wants

  436. something different, then your heart ain't right.

  437. And there's a difference. And the Holy Spirit knows your

  438. heart. He knows what's.

  439. Happening on the inside, and that's that internal work of the

  440. Spirit within that we have to be yielded to. 1st, 1st.

  441. So to covet, he tells us, to covet these gifts it means to

  442. burn with zeal it. Means to.

  443. Desire earnestly. It means to pursue.

  444. I don't want to ask if anybody's been pursuing these gifts.

  445. I'm not even going to ask to strive after to be fervently

  446. boiling with zealousness for the object desired, an intense

  447. desire that causes one to seek something until it's obtained.

  448. He's telling. US covet these, desire these,

  449. have a passion for these, have a zealousness for these gifts.

  450. I want to move in your community, I want to move in

  451. your church, I want to move at your job.

  452. But I need you to listen. I need you to yield.

  453. He wants to use you for these gifts.

  454. We desire a lot of things. We covet a lot of things.

  455. We pursue a lot of things. But he tells us.

  456. To pursue these. To pursue.

  457. This the first thing we got to ask ourself is are we hungry?

  458. Are we desiring? Do we even think about it?

  459. Do do we believe the gifts could move through US?

  460. First Corinthians chapter 14, verse one.

    1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention

  461. It says. Pursue love and desire spiritual

  462. gifts. There it is again desire

  463. spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophecy that word

  464. desires means and have an enthusiasm for have a fervor, a

  465. passion, a devotion to an eagerness to achieve or possess.

  466. So it's saying desire them, be excited about them.

  467. Have a passion for these gifts when there's tragedy, when

  468. there's things with people happening and and the hospital

  469. or or you know, I know there's a serious thing happening often,

  470. often I'll say on the my way there, Father, I earnestly

  471. desire spiritual gifts. I thank you, Lord, I am

  472. available. And if you want to move through

  473. the gifts of the Spirit, I'm ready to do it.

  474. You can't create it. You can't fabricate it.

  475. You can't do it on your own, but you can be yielded and you can

  476. be ready and you can be desiring and zealous about them.

  477. And that's what we need to be. Pastor sent me.

  478. A text and said get them ready. I said I will, I will.

  479. All right, so Second Chronicles chapter 16, verse 9 says I don't

    2 Chronicles 16:9

  480. believe they have this one, but but I just want to read it to

  481. you. For the eyes of the Lord run to

  482. and fro throughout the whole earth looking for somebody to

  483. show himself strong. And he wants to show himself

  484. strong in behalf of the one whose heart is perfect towards

  485. him. He wants to show himself strong,

  486. not show you strong, but show himself strong.

  487. And Daniel 1132 says the people who know their God shall be

  488. strong and carry out great exploits.

  489. Oh man, there's great exploits that we ought to be doing.

  490. If he tells us to earnestly desire these gifts, how do we do

  491. it? How do we burn?

  492. How we get ourselves in a position to burn with zeal about

  493. it. So spiritual hunger, we're going

  494. to talk about that a little bit. The biggest hindrance to the

  495. move of God and the Holy Ghost is apathy, complacency, a lack

  496. of honor, and a lack of hunger. A lack of hunger.

  497. We replace our spiritual hunger with natural things,

  498. intellectual things, physical things, mental things.

  499. We replace the hunger with those things.

  500. And let me just take a a side note minute.

  501. Can I just warn you about what the last days are supposed to

  502. look like? And we are in those last days.

  503. If you didn't know that we're living in the last days, and the

  504. scripture says Jesus says it, Paul says it, the Scripture is

  505. clear that in the last days people will become lovers of

  506. their own selves. Lovers of.

  507. Themselves. And it's an.

  508. Unnatural thing which we know is going to lead to Romans chapter

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  509. 1, which is why we see so much homosexuality and things

  510. happening in the earth. But not just talking about that.

  511. This is talking about you are so consumed with your own plans,

  512. your own life, your own purposes more than his.

  513. The scripture. Says that in the last days this

  514. is not just going to be in the world, this is going to be in

  515. the church. A.

  516. Self centeredness, a selfishness or a generation of people who

  517. are the I am. They look out for.

  518. Themselves before anyone else preoccupied with themselves.

  519. Self absorbed. Self absorbed.

  520. Their own plans, their own pursuits.

  521. This is the primary characteristic of the last days,

  522. and there's a whole bunch of other ones that come underneath

  523. that. But that's the number one way

  524. and it leads to deception and we're seeing it happen.

  525. We're seeing it. Happen in the church where

  526. people take a thought they take on an offense of somebody else.

  527. And next thing you. Know they're they're shrinking

  528. back. They're starting to move.

  529. Back just a little bit and now we don't even see them.

  530. The scripture. Tells us it's going to happen.

  531. So we can't be. Surprised by it or moved by it,

  532. But we can guard our own heart. We can be in a.

  533. Position to say, Lord, I hear you, the eyes of my

  534. understanding are enlightened. I know you all walk in love.

  535. I'm not going to be offended. I'm not going to give ear.

  536. To to. Gossip to offense to anything

  537. that is against the Word of God, against my pastors, against my

  538. spouse, against anything else. You better be.

  539. That solid in these last days that you're not giving heed to

  540. seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

  541. It's happening. And we're in those last days and

  542. we're seeing it. So if you're going to operate in

  543. these gifts of the Spirit, you've got to not love yourself

  544. so much. You've got to.

  545. Quit getting your focus on just what you have going on.

  546. You being the. Center of your little attention.

  547. Recognize. Please be self aware or take an

  548. examination. Judge yourself.

  549. And go. OK, Have I been a little too

  550. focused on what I want, what I need, what I think needs to

  551. happen? You know, it'll help you to just

  552. put your flesh down and serve and give and and do stuff that

  553. your flesh doesn't like to do. Because the Paul tells us, I

  554. beat my body daily. I don't think there's a lot of

  555. beatings happening. But we're supposed to.

  556. Be. We're supposed to be.

  557. Beating our body daily. We're supposed to be.

  558. Putting the flesh down every single day.

  559. What could you do tomorrow that puts your flesh down?

  560. You ought to just get yourself on a little 30 day challenge

  561. that I'm going to every day do something that goes against my

  562. flesh. That puts my.

  563. Flesh under, because you need to be stronger here then you are on

  564. the outside then you are here. Your mind will line up with your

  565. spirit if you'll get strong and begin to meditate on the things

  566. that are right. And if I'm yelling, it's OK.

  567. We're going to get. This.

  568. All right. Now let me say this about church

  569. folk. In.

  570. The last days church folk just have a little smoother way of of

  571. being deceived and they just like to say, well the Lord told

  572. me. Or the Lord.

  573. Released me. Or the Lord.

  574. Doesn't want me to do that. And you can look.

  575. Them because the Bible says we can, we can judge each other's

  576. fruit, we can speak the truth in love and we can say that goes

  577. against the Scripture actually, but but church folk have a way

  578. of making it spiritual. It's ugly, having a form of

  579. godliness, but denying the power.

  580. We're the church. We're the church.

  581. And you know, the Bible says the gates of hell shall not prevail

  582. against the church. What would happen?

  583. What would happen if we all got on the same page?

  584. You know one of the. Most frustrating things when

  585. you're coaching a team is when they're not in unity.

  586. Is when they have. Their own agendas when they're

  587. not together. But once they get in unity and

  588. they start meshing and loving and serving and not and being

  589. unselfish, oh man, things can happen.

  590. They don't even have to do with their talent.

  591. How much? Different is it with us?

  592. What would happen? If we all got on the same page

  593. in our mind, in our spirit, what would happen in each of our

  594. homes if we all woke up to tomorrow morning and said, this

  595. is the day you made Lord? I'm going to be glad.

  596. I'm going to rejoice in it. I'm going to walk in love.

  597. If we all did that, the Holy Ghost would begin to move.

  598. We would all come in this place. And we've been walking in love

  599. all week. We've been putting our flesh

  600. down all week. And we show up here and we're

  601. hungry and we're expecting, and our spirit man's strong, and

  602. we're on the same page with each other.

  603. What would God? Do if we all got in faith?

  604. Pastor Marcy has. Been teaching a phenomenal

  605. teaching on faith on Wednesday nights.

  606. If you haven't been here, get online and listen to that.

  607. You either have strong faith, or you have weak faith, or you have

  608. dead faith. The Holy Ghost.

  609. Is with you and you may be born again, but doesn't mean you're

  610. strong. It doesn't mean you're strong in

  611. faith. It doesn't mean you're full of

  612. the Holy Ghost. So are.

  613. You hungry? Psalms.

  614. One O 7 verse 9 says, For he satisfies the longing soul, and

  615. he fills the hungry soul with goodness.

  616. Luke 153 says He has filled the hungry with good things.

  617. And Luke 621 says, Blessed are you who hunger now, for you

  618. shall be filled. We've got to.

  619. Get hungry. We've got to get zealous.

  620. Hungry for the Word and hungry for the gifts of the Spirit, the

  621. move of the Holy Ghost. First Corinthians 3 says Paul

  622. says I couldn't speak to you as spiritual but as carnal.

  623. Let that not. Be us that we're more consumed

  624. with our natural thinking and our natural circumstances that

  625. we have to say, you know, I can't even talk to you as

  626. spiritual. I have to talk.

  627. To you as carnal, because that's where you're at.

  628. Could there be such an maturity and such a an expectation when

  629. you come into this place that God begins to move in the gifts

  630. supernaturally for those who are first time guests or for someone

  631. who needs a word of wisdom or outside of here in your job that

  632. you're so full and expecting that He can move through you in

  633. an instant? He knows He can.

  634. Now staying. Filled is the key.

  635. We're going to end with this, although it's not the end.

  636. John 7. 37 We already went there, it says, If anybody

  637. thirsts, let him come to me and drink, And John 414 We read, it

  638. says, But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will

  639. never thirst. Are you hungry?

  640. Are you? Thirsting.

  641. Are. You allowing the cares of life

  642. to weigh you down. Are you?

  643. Drinking. There's a right?

  644. Way to drink. Staying full of the.

  645. Spirit will keep you more susceptible for the move of the

  646. Holy Ghost, for the gifts of the Spirit not being aware of them

  647. will make us not in a position for them to move.

  648. So. Acts Chapter 2.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  649. Let's go there. Acts chapter 2.

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  650. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with

  651. one accord. There's that Unity 1 accord in

  652. one place, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of

  653. a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where

  654. they were sitting. And there appeared to them

  655. divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

  656. Verse four. And they were all filled with

  657. the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the

  658. Spirit gave them utterance. First of all, they were all

  659. together on the inside. It didn't mean they were just

  660. all together together in one place.

  661. They were all together here. They're all in.

  662. Unity here, expecting in faith for what the Lord said was going

  663. to happen. An indicator that you are

  664. filled, that you are full, is that you will speak.

  665. You. Something will come out of you,

  666. and I'm not just talking about tongues.

  667. I'm talking about. Praise the Lord.

  668. Glory to. God.

  669. Thank you. Jesus.

  670. You know I. Believe and the scripture says

  671. it when when we see the Lord, when we're all together well in

  672. the new heaven and new earth, that that when, when an Angel or

  673. when someone says glory to God, it just ignites something in

  674. everybody, but we all just like glory to God.

  675. Hallelujah. Glory to God, that's how we

  676. should be. If you're full, if you're full,

  677. it won't take much and nobody's got to come slap you, although I

  678. don't mind, but nobody's got to come slap you and say let's go.

  679. Get full. Get excited.

  680. Get full. Of the Holy Ghost on the inside

  681. of you. Let your spirit man be strong.

  682. You like that? That sounded kind of good, and

  683. there was like a in it. OK Ephesians chapter 5.

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

  684. Ephesians. Chapter 5, verse 15 says, See

    Ephesians 5:15

  685. then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but

  686. as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

  687. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the

  688. Lord is, and do not be drunk with wine, in which is

  689. dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.

  690. Speaking. There's that.

  691. Speaking again, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and

  692. spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to

  693. the Lord, giving thanks always. Giving thanks.

  694. Always for all things. Giving thanks always for all

  695. things. Some.

  696. Of you didn't hear me giving thanks always for all things.

  697. All. Things.

  698. Can you really do that? Can you?

  699. Really give him it doesn't mean that the the hard things he did

  700. and he wants you to say thank you that I'm sick.

  701. Not talking about that. Thank you Lord that I'm healed,

  702. although there are symptoms in my body.

  703. Thank you, Father, that I'm the healed of the Lord.

  704. Thankful. In All Things You Know and in

  705. Romans chapter 1 it talks about although they knew God, they

    Romans 1 chapter mention

  706. didn't honor him as God, nor were they thankful.

  707. And so God gave them over to a debased mind.

  708. Oh man. That should be so sobering for

  709. us. Although they knew.

  710. God. They knew God.

  711. They. Didn't honor him as God.

  712. He's first, he's Lord, he's King.

  713. And they weren't thankful in everything all the time

  714. Thankful. Giving.

  715. Thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of

  716. our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the

  717. fear of the Lord be that word be filled with the Spirit is a is a

  718. right now all the time present tense meaning it means be being

  719. filled. All the time.

  720. Be being filled. Stay full, stay filled and if

  721. you are full, if you are filled, something should be coming out

  722. of your mouth. He's talking to in Ephesians 5.

  723. He's talking to spirit filled believers and he's telling them

  724. don't be drunk with wine. But instead.

  725. Be filled with the Spirit. Speaking.

  726. To one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs and

  727. making melody in your heart. To God.

  728. Don't be drunk as like the world, there's no reason.

  729. There's no reason there's. No.

  730. Need. And the.

  731. Scripture is clear about it. You don't need alcohol.

  732. You don't need stuff to calm you.

  733. You have the peace of God. You have the.

  734. Joy of the Holy Ghost on the inside of you.

  735. And if you don't know how to drink responsibly and drink from

  736. the Spirit, that's the only people that need an alcohol

  737. drink. They don't know how to drink

  738. from the Spirit. I want to tell them.

  739. That. All right, that.

  740. Term spirit filled. Sometimes we use it too loosely.

  741. Acts chapter 4. Acts chapter 4.

Acts 4 chapter mention Acts 4 chapter mention

  742. And this was when Peter and John were thrown in jail.

  743. And it says. Verse 23 And being let go, they

  744. went to their own companions. When they got out of jail, it

  745. says they went to their own companions and reported all that

  746. the chief priests and elders had said to them.

  747. And when they heard that, they raised their voice to God in one

  748. accord and said, Lord, you are God who made heaven and earth

  749. and the sea, and all that's in them.

  750. Verse 29 Now Lord, look on their threats, and grant your servants

  751. that with all boldness they may speak your word by stretching

  752. out your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done

  753. through your name of your holy servant Jesus.

  754. Verse 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they

  755. were assembled together was shaken and they were all filled

  756. with the Holy Ghost and they spoke the word of God with

  757. boldness. This was the the original 120

  758. people plus more. So in Acts chapter 4 it says

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  759. they went back to their own company and they were filled

  760. again. They were filled.

  761. Again, you know there's refillings that should be

  762. happening. You should be be being filled

  763. all the time. I'm telling you, if you want to

  764. live in victory, you've got to live like this.

  765. You've got to be. Being filled.

  766. You've got to stay. Full of the Holy Ghost, we live

  767. drained, busy intellectual lives.

  768. And we see God. Move here and there.

  769. But oh, what would he do if we would get ourselves in a place

  770. where we're expecting and we're we're drinking and we're full of

  771. the Holy Ghost? We're supposed to be.

  772. In communion intercourse in in joint participation with him.

  773. Now the scripture compares being full and filled with the Holy

  774. Ghost of being drunk. Now think about because some of

  775. you I don't need to raise hands. Some of.

  776. You have been drunk before and I'm talking about with alcohol.

  777. And what did? That do for you?

  778. It made you a. Little loose.

  779. Made you free? To speak.

  780. Made you. Full of joy, not real joy.

  781. Now you understand what I'm saying.

  782. Made you forget about your worries.

  783. Made you just. Kind of lay any fear you had

  784. down. Right.

  785. So being drunk and the natural, he's comparing to being drunk in

  786. the spirit now. When we're.

  787. Drunk in the spirit, we're going to read Being full of the spirit

  788. doesn't mean you're always drunk.

  789. We're going to look at. Steven real quick and and what

  790. it did for him being full of the spirit.

  791. But but you can be drunk, and you're not going to ever get

  792. drunk if you don't ever drink. So you you got to.

  793. Start drinking every day of the Spirit.

  794. That means you're. Waking up and you're saying, OK,

  795. first of all, you got to be baptized in the Holy Ghost.

  796. And I really believe if there's anybody here today that is not

  797. baptizing the Holy Ghost in today's your day, it needs to

  798. happen. It needs to happen for so many

  799. reasons, so many reasons. You need the baptism of the Holy

  800. Ghost, but we need to drink of the Spirit and, and we're going

  801. to drink a little bit every day when we get up in the morning,

  802. we go to work, we're praying in the Holy Ghost, building

  803. ourselves up in our most holy faith.

  804. It's not about what you see and how you feel, it's about what

  805. you do. What you.

  806. Do every day, verse 19 said, speaking to one another in

  807. psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.

  808. I I often chuckle at this because I sometimes want to just

  809. go up to somebody and say glory to God.

  810. But I won't. But but it says speaking to one

  811. another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.

  812. Really, it's having a song in your heart.

  813. Having. Joy on the inside, being quick

  814. to be able to to sing or dance or run or be free or not have a

  815. care in the world, not be afraid of it.

  816. Why do you worry? The scripture says.

  817. Why do you worry about what you're going to eat, what you're

  818. going to drink, what you're going to wear, what you're going

  819. to, what job you're going to take, what you're going to do,

  820. how you're going to make ends meet?

  821. Why do you worry? Do you not?

  822. Know that your Heavenly Father. Feeds the little.

  823. Birds. Every time you see a little

  824. bird, you ought to say I am not going to worry.

  825. I am not going to. Worry.

  826. I'm better than a bird. You got to quit worrying.

  827. Worry keeps you out of faith. Worry.

  828. Worry squashes your faith because it's fear and it's

  829. anxiety and the scripture is so clear about it.

  830. Be anxious for nothing. But in everything, not some

  831. things. Everything with prayer and

  832. supplication with. Thanksgiving.

  833. Make your request known unto the Lord and then and then the peace

  834. of God that surpasses your, it surpasses your understanding,

  835. will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

  836. Oh man, you should make a a declaration today.

  837. I am not going to worry about one thing.

  838. Not one. Not again, no more So we seem

  839. like we we're a little distant from the thought of being drunk.

  840. I want to look at a couple of examples.

  841. First of all, First Corinthians 316 I already quoted that to

  842. you, but we are the temple of the Holy Ghost and Second

  843. Chronicles 513. This is an Old Testament

  844. scripture about when the ark was brought into the temple.

  845. Verse 13 it says, and indeed it came to pass when the trumpeters

  846. and the singers were as one. Wow.

  847. There seems to be a theme here about this unity.

  848. Whereas one to make one sound to be heard and praising and

  849. thanking the Lord when they lifted up their voice with

  850. trumpets and symbols and instruments of music.

  851. And praise the Lord saying for He is good and his mercy endures

  852. forever. Look at what happened that the

  853. house when they did this, that the house, the House of the Lord

  854. was filled with a cloud, so that the priest could not continue

  855. ministering because of the cloud.

  856. For the glory of the Lord filled the House of God.

  857. They were in one accord, in one place, singing, making melody in

  858. their hearts, full in their trust of God, and they didn't

  859. even have the Holy Ghost like we do.

  860. Full in their. Belief.

  861. What does being filled with the Spirit have to do with the gifts

  862. of the Spirit? And will you always be drunk?

  863. Not at all. Not at all being the full.

  864. Being full, though, as the Spirit makes you ready, makes

  865. you more susceptible, more ready for the move of the Spirit.

  866. Now let's look at Acts chapter 6.

    Acts 6 chapter mention

  867. Now in those days when the number of the disciples was

  868. multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by

  869. the Hellenist because they're widows were neglected in the

  870. daily distribution. Then the 12 summoned the

  871. multitude of the disciples and said it is not desirable that we

  872. should leave the word of God and serve tables.

  873. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you 7 men of good

  874. reputation. Look at the qualifications here

  875. of good reputation full. Of.

  876. The Holy Spirit and wisdom whom we may appoint over this

  877. business, but we will give ourselves continually to prayer

  878. and the ministry of the Word, and the same please the whole

  879. multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man

  880. full of faith, and the Holy Spirit, and they chose several

  881. others whom they said before the apostles.

  882. And when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.

  883. Listen to verse 7. Then the word of God spread, and

  884. the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem.

  885. And great many of the priests were obedient to the faith, And

  886. Stephen, full of faith and power, full of faith and power,

  887. did great wonders and signs among the people.

  888. And then there arose some from what is called the synagogue of

  889. the freedom disputing with Stephen, and they were not able

  890. to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke.

  891. He was full, the Scripture says, full of the Holy Ghost, and he

  892. operated in faith and power. You put yourself in a position

  893. to for the supernatural gifts of the Holy Ghost to move through

  894. you when you're full. When you don't come.

  895. In here, drained, you put yourself in a position you don't

  896. have to it. It's weird if you walk out to

  897. your job and you act drunk and you act drunk in the spirit.

  898. There is a place for that. But you.

  899. Can be so full of wisdom. That that they're.

  900. Not able to even resist the wisdom by which you speak.

  901. Like Stephen, we've got to be full of the Spirit.

  902. There's one initial feeling of the Holy Ghost.

  903. When you got baptized in the Holy Ghost, the evidence that

  904. you received it is that you spoke, or you would speak in

  905. other tongues. But there are multiple

  906. refillings, and you need to know that.

  907. And those refillings can happen at home.

  908. They can happen while you're singing, they can happen in your

  909. car, they can happen right here. Those refillings should be

  910. happening all the time, every day.

  911. They should happen when you're praying in the Spirit, when

  912. you're reading the Word all the time, anytime.

  913. Why? Don't we see more?

  914. I'm telling you why. I'm telling you.

  915. Why? Number one is the lack of faith

  916. and Pastor Marcy's been ministering on it.

  917. Why don't we see more signs, wonders, miracles, gifts of the

  918. Holy Ghost, moving, lack of faith?

  919. #2. A lack of being filled with the

  920. Spirit. And number. 3A Lack of hunger A.

  921. Lack of. Hunger, Paul pleads with us.

  922. Please don't be ignorant of spiritual gifts.

  923. Please earnestly desire them. Please covet them.

  924. Please. Pursue them.

  925. Please be zealous of these gifts.

  926. He's. Pleading with us to do this.

  927. So our job. Today is one.

  928. Our job today is to make sure that we leave here full of the

  929. Holy Ghost.
