  1. Thanks for checking out the Anchor Faith Message podcast

  2. from St. Augustine, FL.

  3. Now enjoy this message. Again, it's an honor.

  4. I'm for those who don't know me, my name is Vanessa Centron.

  5. I am the children's minister here and also the preschool

  6. director. And so most of the time I am

  7. with the littles. Thank you.

  8. It is my honor again to be here to minister.

  9. Tonight. Pastor asked me to minister on

  10. prayer. And so tonight we're going to

  11. talk about some Kingdom positions in prayer.

  12. And so we're going to do a little stirring up in the Word

  13. some people that knew I was minister and always ask, well,

  14. what's your object lesson? Because, you know, in children's

  15. ministry, I've always got an object lesson or something I

  16. pull out of a hat or a box or something.

  17. Tonight, this is my object lesson.

  18. This is my object right here. It's the Bible.

  19. OK, if you ever, if you ever need your own object lesson, you

  20. just pull this right out. OK, so tonight we're just going

  21. to we're going to keep it with the Bible and the holy ghosts.

  22. OK, those those two and one and we're going to dig into some

  23. specific topics in prayer next coming Sunday.

  24. We were we're going to go into another weeks long prayer and

  25. fasting. And so pastor thought it would

  26. be fitting for us just to kind of review some things in prayer.

  27. It's always good. Everything in the world's always

  28. good to review because we need to be stirred up by way of

  29. reminder. That's what it tells us in

  30. second Peter 31. It says, you know, stir you up

  31. by way of reminder. The only way that we're going to

  32. be able to do that is to be able to open up the word and read the

  33. scripture. So I'm going to start out with

  34. our key scripture tonight, and that is in John.

  35. Excuse me. First, John 5 verses one through

  36. 15. So bear with me.

  37. It's going to be a little bit of a long text, but we're going to

  38. read it first in the NLT version.

  39. And it says this. In verse one it says everyone

  40. who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God

  41. and everyone who loves Father God loves his children too.

  42. We know we love God's children if we love God and obey his

  43. commandments. Loving God means keeping his

  44. commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.

  45. For every child of God defeats the evil world, and we achieve

  46. this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle

  47. against the world? Only those that Jesus who

  48. believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

  49. In verse 6 it says in Jesus Christ was revealed as God's Son

  50. by his baptism and water and by shedding of his blood on the

  51. cross, not by by water only, but by water and blood.

  52. And the Spirit who is truth confirms it with his testimony.

  53. So we have these three witnesses, the Spirit, the

  54. water, and the blood, and all three agree.

  55. And since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe

  56. the greater testimony that comes from God and that God has

  57. testified about his Son, who's his son Jesus, that we were

  58. singing about tonight. All who believe in the Son of

  59. God know in their hearts that this testimony is true.

  60. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar

  61. because they don't believe what God has testified about a son.

  62. Verse 11 And this is what God has testified.

  63. He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son,

  64. who's his son, Jesus. Whoever has this son has life,

  65. and whoever does not have God's son does not have life.

  66. And verse 13 it says I have written this to you who believe

  67. in the name of the Son of God so that you may know and have

  68. eternal life. And verse 14 and 15 will be our

  69. our key scriptures tonight out of this text.

  70. And we are confident say confident that he hears us

  71. whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.

  72. And since we know He hears us when we make our request, we are

  73. we know that He will give us what we.

  74. Asked for. OK, so this will be our key

  75. scripture when it comes to prayer tonight, and I want to

  76. talk to you about six different positions in prayer.

  77. And when I mean the word position, I'm going to give you

  78. the Webster's dictionary definition is the state of being

  79. positioned or placed in the manner which something is

  80. placed. It's also an attitude, a

  81. condition or or something that's inclined to or an upright

  82. position. We're going to use the

  83. definition when it comes to attitude.

  84. Another word in Scripture when we talk about position could

  85. mean something that's set or an attitude.

  86. Right now in the world, we have a lot of things where people are

  87. given one position this way and one position that way.

  88. But tonight we're going to talk about what it means to have the

  89. Kingdom position in prayer, Kingdom position in prayer,

  90. because we want to make sure that we are set in the Kingdom

  91. way of looking at things, not just in the subject of prayer,

  92. but that's what we're going to tackle tonight.

  93. But in all areas of the word of God, we always in any part of

  94. our life, we want to make sure that we are always looking back

  95. to the word. My object tonight, the word is

  96. always has to be our source of where we fix our position.

  97. Because it really doesn't matter what somebody says to the left

  98. or to the right. We have to make sure we stay

  99. firmly in the middle and stay fixed to what God says about it,

  100. what he's already given the answer for and so.

  101. As I was. Getting prepared and looking

  102. over scripture, I kept getting going over this phrase that I've

  103. heard all of my life, and especially as I've gotten older.

  104. Sometimes people will say the phrase, oh, they're just set in

  105. their ways, you know, have you ever heard that before?

  106. Someone will say, Oh yeah, they're not ever going to change

  107. because that's just the way they are and they're set in their

  108. ways. Well, that may be true for

  109. people until they get victory and they get freedom and they

  110. come to know who they are in Christ, then they can become

  111. something new. They can be something different

  112. and they should be something different.

  113. And that difference is being Kingdom minded.

  114. And when you get Kingdom minded and you do want to have this

  115. philosophy that you are set in your ways, you're set in a

  116. Kingdom way because once you get yourself, your eyes fixed to the

  117. author and the finisher of your faith, you do not want to come

  118. off of it. You want to stay fixed.

  119. And so tonight as we read that scripture, our first point that

  120. we're going to talk about is staying in a position of

  121. righteousness. When we think about prayer, the

  122. very first prayer that we've ever said as a believer is the

  123. prayer of salvation. That's the entryway into being

  124. born again. And so in Romans 10/9 and 10, it

  125. says, you know, if you believe in your heart and you confess

  126. with your mouth that it takes an action of you confessing.

  127. And that's the prayer that then you pray to ask the Lord to come

  128. in your heart. You know, make him first of your

  129. life. You know he, he say.

  130. Not only does he save you, but he endeavors to then be your

  131. Lord. As you say, he is Lord over

  132. everything. He's number one in a supreme and

  133. authority of everything. And so when you do that, that's

  134. that first entry prayer that we that we make and then we take.

  135. And so we have to know that whenever we get positioned at

  136. that moment where we say, Lord, I want all of you, that we are

  137. then put in place into a right standing.

  138. We were wrong before, and then you're put into the right

  139. alignment and you're in the Kingdom.

  140. And so Second Corinthians and the Amplified Classic tells us

  141. this. It says for our sake He made

  142. Christ virtually to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in, in and

  143. through him we might become endued with viewed as being in

  144. and examples of the righteousness of God, what we

  145. ought to be approved and acceptable and in right

  146. relationship with Him by his goodness.

  147. So that last part says in right relationship the.

  148. Moment that we are in Christ and it's all because of who?

  149. Who were we singing about tonight?

  150. Jesus, it always, it comes back to Jesus.

  151. Jesus took care of this for us. God made a way for him to come

  152. and take care of the penalty of sin for us.

  153. So now we could be back in right standing.

  154. So in our position of prayer, we have to remember who we are,

  155. that we're right. So we have a right to come and

  156. talk to the king. We made, we made the contract

  157. connection and signed the deal. Whenever we said, I want you,

  158. Lord, I, I'm giving my all to you.

  159. I give it all up and I, I surrender my life to you.

  160. At that moment we became right and we're in righteousness.

  161. Romans 8 verses 12 through 17 tells us this.

    Romans 8:12–17

  162. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation, but it's

  163. not to the flesh to live according to it.

  164. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die.

  165. But if you live by the Spirit, you put death to the misdeeds of

  166. the body, you will live. For those who are led by the

  167. Spirit of God, they are who they are children of God.

  168. And the spirit you received does not make you slaves so that you

  169. lived in fear again. Rather the spirit you received

  170. brought about your adoption to sonship.

  171. And by him we cry ABBA Father the Spirit himself testifies

  172. with our spirit that we are God's children.

  173. Verse 17 Now if we are children, then we are now heirs and heirs

  174. of God and Co heirs with Christ. And if we indeed share in his

  175. sufferings in order that we might also share in his glory.

  176. You know, children have different access than just any

  177. old person. You know, if you think about it

  178. in your own house, your children have the right to come in, go

  179. through the refrigerator, go through the pantry.

  180. You know they're at home because they are with their family.

  181. There's an intimacy there. We're heirs, which means we have

  182. right to everything. Everything in the Kingdom that

  183. the Lord is, it's there for us, and we have a right to it

  184. because we are right, because he made a way for us to be right.

  185. And so when we're thinking about in the terms of prayer and US

  186. communicating to God and communing with God, we can come

  187. to him and we can come to him with boldness because we're his

  188. children. We don't have to be afraid.

  189. We don't have to cower. We don't have to be ashamed

  190. about anything if we're in and we remain and right standing

  191. with him because we're in that relationship and we get to tap

  192. into all of the benefits that he has.

  193. You know, it's a benefit. And and you know, my house,

  194. whatever's in there, you know, in the pantry, you can have it.

  195. You know, I've got a teenage son.

  196. So he says there's usually not enough in there, but that's, you

  197. know, he needs to get his faith in there.

  198. I guess on that right. But when we're in a right

  199. standing position, we have to remember that we're in right

  200. standing and we need to stay in that right, that right position.

  201. So that's our first position in prayer.

  202. Our next one is in faith. And I'm only going to just give

  203. you a little snippet because our pastor has given us a great

  204. study on that here recently in the last past Wednesdays.

  205. And so if you haven't listened, you need to go online and make

  206. sure that you listen to those past.

  207. I believe we had five weeks of faith there.

  208. There's nothing in the word that we could ever exhaust.

  209. There's just so much, so much in every single session that we

  210. Pastor Marcy was ministering in faith.

  211. There was just more and more and more.

  212. She could go for 10 more weeks on it because there's so much

  213. that we need to remember and be stirred up in.

  214. You know, we can forget. We can forget where we put our

  215. keys. We can forget where we, you

  216. know, did we start the laundry? Did we do, you know, did we do

  217. that? Because there's so many things

  218. going on in our life. There's so many different

  219. distractions. But it's so important that we do

  220. maintain that attitude to stay stirred up and fresh in the

  221. word. So we are going to talk a little

  222. bit about faith because we had to have the faith in the moment

  223. that we said, I'm going to believe, I'm gonna, I believe

  224. that there's a God. I'm hearing that there's this

  225. God who's who sent Jesus for me, that sent someone to rescue me.

  226. And then I'm wrong and I need to get right.

  227. So there's a level of faith that you had it to to call upon him

  228. that day to get right. And in John first, we just read

  229. in first John 5/14, as we we said, and this is the victory

  230. because we're born again. This victory that we have is

  231. because of the faith we have. And what kind of faith is

  232. overcoming faith in every obstacle, in every circumstance?

  233. If we're positioned in the right alignment of prayer that the

  234. Lord has placed us in, guess what?

  235. We will have an overcoming victory in every circumstance,

  236. in every situation. No matter what comes, we're

  237. going to have an answer because we're in Him.

  238. We're in, we're positioned right with Him.

  239. Hebrews 11. One great faith.

  240. Scripture says now faith is a confidence and what we hope for

  241. the assurance about what we do not see.

  242. Other versions tell us that this isn't a confidence is another

  243. word for assurance. Being sure it becomes your

  244. reality. Your reality becomes what God's

  245. reality is as his child, what he has, what he says, what he's

  246. done in the word now is your reality, whether you see it with

  247. your physical eyes or not. And I like this next version

  248. because it it touches on that little bit.

  249. It says now, and this is in the amplified classic.

  250. It says now faith is the assurance, the confirmation, the

  251. title deed of things we hope for being the proof of things we do

  252. not see and the conviction of their reality, faith perceiving

  253. as real fact. But what is this?

  254. What is not revealed in the census?

  255. So it's not anything we see externally, not anything that's

  256. out here. It's in and by faith that we

  257. believe whatever it is that we're praying for, that we're

  258. going to receive it because our dad, Father God has told us and

  259. we're his child and we believe our Father and we know what he

  260. said is true. So guess what, we we say

  261. position and faith, no matter what comes, I'm going to say

  262. right directly position and I'm going to be set.

  263. I'm going to be set. I'm going to be set in my way

  264. that what God told me it's going to be.

  265. So it doesn't waver. Our position is what you hold on

  266. to and it stays steady and. Strong and you don't back down.

  267. So when you're when we are praying, we pray out the

  268. solution. Now our relationship with God is

  269. is one of those and again, I'm not going to go into too much.

  270. In fact, if you haven't read Pastor Mercy's prayer book, you

  271. need to get it at guest relations.

  272. It's a great book cool of the day.

  273. It goes over prayer breaks them and she actually talks about

  274. positions and prayers well, and she gives you a great

  275. illustration of a really what our relationship is the oneness

  276. of the father and kind of takes you on a journey there as well.

  277. We're not going to have time to get into all that tonight, but

  278. get get her. It's great a great pick me up.

  279. I read it again. It's just one of those things to

  280. stir yourself up in the subject of prayer.

  281. You can't read it too much so, but what I liked about the book

  282. is it it talks about it starts out talking about our oneness

  283. with Christ, which is our communication.

  284. And pastor said this not too many services ago where he said

  285. that well, how the Lord arrested him when he was at Raymond said

  286. if you spent as much time with your wife as you did with me,

  287. then you wouldn't be married very long.

  288. And so we it it takes you back to remembering that your

  289. relationship with the Lord when you prayed the prayer of

  290. salvation and got into the Kingdom.

  291. That was just an entry prayer. He didn't want you to stop

  292. talking. He wants us to continue talking

  293. and communing with him every single day.

  294. And that's why we'll get to it in somewhere in my notes about

  295. the fact that prayer is not just a one time occurrence.

  296. It's to pray without ceasing. It's something that we'll do all

  297. the time, and when you keep that mindset and that fixed position

  298. that I'm going to stay in my communication with the Father,

  299. then it's very, very easy to trust because the more you know

  300. someone, the more you know about them, the easier it is to trust.

  301. Now, prayer is one way we get to know God.

  302. Obviously, we get to know Him in the Word as well.

  303. And so those two things work hand in hand as we continue

  304. staying set in our ways with the King in the Kingdom.

  305. Mindedness. OK, so our confession when?

  306. We again when? We pray the prayer of salvation

  307. that got us positioned right and now we're in the right way.

  308. We can talk to the Father easily.

  309. You know, I imagine there's people out there that pray all

  310. the time, and a lot of times we see when great tragedy comes to

  311. the world that everybody goes to their knees at that moment

  312. because. They know that there's a God,

  313. whether they've called upon him or not.

  314. They know that there's something greater the the creators

  315. speaking, you know, whether whether they've acknowledged it

  316. or not. But The thing is God.

  317. Doesn't want us just to come in our time of need.

  318. Scripture says we can come in our in the time of need, but he

  319. wants us to come all the time. He wants us to call and speak

  320. the name of Jesus all the time. It should be such an easy thing

  321. to do that I'm so set in my ways and it's not it's not habitual

  322. and so much so like the old test, I mean the New Testament

  323. Pharisees where they just did it so that they could show, make

  324. for show. We'll read that in just a few

  325. minutes. But it's an intimate

  326. relationship that you're spending the time with God, that

  327. it's just something you do. It's just so natural.

  328. It's so natural. It's more natural than you

  329. picking up the. Phone and calling your parents

  330. or calling your sister or calling a friend.

  331. It's just it's it. The Holy Ghost number one is

  332. within you all the time. So when you're by yourself,

  333. you're not by yourself. You've got the Holy Ghost with

  334. you and there's no separation wherever you're at, which

  335. whatever you're doing, you matter to the Lord.

  336. And that's why I'm getting jumping ahead of my notes.

  337. But. It it's so awesome that God not

  338. only gave us Jesus, but then he gave us the Holy Ghost that we

  339. didn't have to be left alone. So I want to jump 2 ahead.

  340. But again, our, our first position is righteousness.

  341. We've been made right in him. And then because of that, we

  342. then enter into this life of faith into the Creator who we

  343. can't see. We can only see his effects.

  344. We can see and sense the Holy Ghost that gets placed upon us

  345. when we're born again. And then for those who have been

  346. filled with the Holy Ghost, then you get the a pawn that's now at

  347. the end filling where you then have a prayer language that you

  348. can pray out that language. And so that's so very important

  349. tonight. There'll be opportunities.

  350. So if you don't have that, get ready, have opportunity tonight.

  351. OK, position next is in confidence.

  352. So our key scripture tonight when we read.

  353. In verse 14 of verse John 5, it says, and this is the confidence

  354. that we have towards Him, that if we ask anything according to

  355. His will, He hears us. Well, His will is His Word.

  356. So if we want to know what God thinks about something, what He

  357. desires about something, the only way is for us to find that

  358. out is for us to read the Word. We can find out His will and

  359. then. We can pray just in line with

  360. that so that we know that he's hearing us.

  361. We're not praying wishes, we're not praying and in in a stance

  362. of begging. We don't have to do any of that.

  363. Again, we are His heirs and we have all of the benefits in His

  364. Kingdom, and if we have all of His benefits, we can tap into

  365. them and all we have to. Do is pray according to his

  366. word, and we have this thing called confidence.

  367. You know when you're confident you don't.

  368. Nothing phases. You when you know you can go in

  369. and do something and you can feel like you can conquer the

  370. world when you have confidence and I'd much rather have the

  371. confidence of the Lord than any other any other way that or

  372. opportunity or alternative that could come in the world to give

  373. you confidence. The word is all I want, God is

  374. all I want, the Holy Ghost is all I want to give me the

  375. confidence. And he says in first.

  376. And 1st John of I'm going to read it in the back in the NLT

  377. version, it says, and this is a. And we are confident that he

  378. hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.

  379. And since we know he hears us when we make our request, we

  380. also know that he will give us what we ask for.

  381. You know, our kids are very good about asking for things, right?

  382. So keeping that perspective when we're talking about that he's

  383. Father God and we're asking, you know, he wants us to remind him.

  384. He wants us to remind, you know, our kids sometimes what can I do

  385. this? Can I do this?

  386. Can I do this? Especially when they're younger,

  387. they'll they'll be repetitive and they'll ask and they won't

  388. forget. They won't forget if there's

  389. something they really wanted. And then you maybe you know my

  390. my phrase, especially when they were younger was maybe.

  391. And they're like, oh, I don't. Like maybe I said you'd need to

  392. like maybe because maybe is maybe yes and maybe no.

  393. It's kind of middle of the road. So I was I was pretty pretty

  394. fair. I wasn't always no and wasn't

  395. always yes. And so it was a maybe.

  396. But with God, if it's according to his word, there's no maybe it

  397. is what he said it is. He said we can be healed.

  398. So there's no maybe there, he said.

  399. We can have freedom over whatever addiction.

  400. There's there's no there's no special case that that this

  401. won't happen for no, we have every single thing, he says.

  402. We have peace. Even when it's a stormy mess in

  403. our life. All chaos is happening just in

  404. our own personal lives, or it could be all over the world.

  405. We see this and. That and just.

  406. We can rest and knowing that the Word says I can have peace in

  407. every situation and I can have the confidence to know that

  408. whatever I need to pray for, whatever I'm believing for, He

  409. hears me. I'm confident that nothing's

  410. going to get me off the fact that God said it.

  411. You know what? And a few weeks.

  412. In the summer and then just a couple weeks ago, a Nautilus,

  413. you know, I took Rhema's stance on what brother Hagin would say.

  414. God said it. I believe it.

  415. That settles it like there's no, there's no me changing like

  416. it's, it is what it is. I am set in my ways when it

  417. comes to the word and set in my ways when it comes to the

  418. Kingdom. It settles.

  419. It's done. I've you've drawn a line in the

  420. sand and you said I'm not passing this point.

  421. I'm with God and I'm firmly persuaded because of the faith

  422. and because that I know I'm His child that I can confidently

  423. ask. Ephesians 313 says this.

  424. Because of Christ and of our faith in Him, we can now come

  425. boldly and confidently into His presence.

  426. Again, there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ, so

  427. there's never a reason for us not to be able to come in and be

  428. confident in His presence, no matter what, that we can come

  429. and we can just speak. And again, it doesn't have to be

  430. something special. You don't have to wait till you

  431. get to church on Sunday or Wednesday.

  432. He wants this at all times in, in every circumstance, in every

  433. situation of our life. He wants us to come into His

  434. presence and with boldness and with confidence.

  435. Hebrews. 4. 16 It says, Let us then with confidence draw near

  436. to the throne of grace, that may we may receive mercy and find

  437. grace in the time of need. We have to maintain that our set

  438. position is in confidence. And when we do that, we then

  439. start tapping into the this thing called authority that we

  440. have. Again, that's a whole other

  441. topic, but we as believers have authority because we're Kingdom

  442. citizens. We can tap in to all the Kingdom

  443. benefits and in our prayer time, we can start seeking those

  444. things out and we can only expect confidently that we're

  445. going to have what we ask for, right?

  446. So stirring you up just to think in the mindset of prayer, prayer

  447. is not a one time occurrence. Prayer is something we're doing

  448. consistently, constantly, you know, and if you're new here or

  449. you don't, you, you're questioning what prayer is, You

  450. know, prayer is just simply communicating with God.

  451. It's communication. It's not just one way, it's both

  452. ways because not only will you speak to him, but he will speak

  453. back to you. You know, some other belief

  454. systems, other other religions, you know, get really fascinated

  455. by the actual physical position that somebody gets into prayer.

  456. There's no right or wrong. You know, sometimes you'll

  457. notice here in service, you know, some may kneel, some may

  458. bow. There's going to be moments in

  459. the Spirit of God where where we may do those things in it and

  460. it's honoring to the Lord. But there's no wrong or right

  461. way to, you know, you don't have to have your, you know, head

  462. bowed and just like this. I know sometimes we do that with

  463. the kids to help them practice and concentrate.

  464. Sometimes it is easier to close your eyes, especially when

  465. you're in a stance of worship. But if you're just alone with

  466. God, you can kneel by the bed. You can sit on the bed and talk

  467. to him. I mean, you can talk to him

  468. while you're in the car, while you're in the shower.

  469. I mean you this is there's no like set.

  470. Place. That you have to be to make this

  471. happen. Prayer is whenever, wherever.

  472. In fact, sometimes he may or he may.

  473. He may nudge you to have a conversation.

  474. He may be just just like the kids come and nudge us for a

  475. conversation. He might be coming up to gently

  476. because that's what the Holy Ghost will do to have a

  477. conversation, to remind you of something to spark, to spark

  478. some things in you. Because God ultimately wants to

  479. see us continue to grow and grow and grow further in our

  480. relationship with them. And so in order to do that, we

  481. got to talk. We can't know him more.

  482. We can't do more, but we have to talk.

  483. And so just wanted to give you that little insight that, you

  484. know, it's not so much of A about a literal position,

  485. although all of those things work.

  486. You know, I know some people that is their, that is their way

  487. of communicating with God. And there's nothing wrong with

  488. that. If that's your routine to get up

  489. in the morning and have your, your alone time with God and

  490. it's a certain way, then you keep doing that.

  491. You keep growing in it, but don't, don't be limited to that

  492. because God can talk to you in any moment and he wants to

  493. continue to do that. So maintain your position and

  494. your confidence to know that when he hears you, when you

  495. speak, he hears you and he's going to answer that prayer.

  496. Next, let's talk about the position being positioned and

  497. forgiveness set and forgiveness. Now when you were born again,

  498. you were forgiven. All was forgiven clean.

  499. Slate, wipe slate, but this? Is a moment, as you know, as we

  500. talk about prayer, the scripture tells us about searching our own

  501. heart because there are some hindrances to prayer there.

  502. There are some things that can happen in prayer or happened in

  503. our life that cause us to have an offense or cause us to have a

  504. block and us not getting somewhere with what we're

  505. believing for. And a lot of times we have to

  506. search ourselves and make sure, OK, we know God's word's true

  507. and we know that it's he said he'll never fail us.

  508. He'll never forsake us. I know what his will is and I'm

  509. praying that, but I'm just not seeing the results.

  510. And so we have to go back and make sure we search our hearts

  511. to to see if there's anything within us that we need to deal

  512. with. And so let's talk about

  513. forgiveness for just a moment. You know, the, it's so important

  514. that as we come and we start to come in corporately, you know,

  515. we have, we're talking about prayer and some different ways

  516. tonight. Prayer individually for the

  517. believer is something we all do. But then when we come together,

  518. there's some power and greatness that can happen when we're all

  519. unified in prayer, we're all having the same mindset.

  520. We're all in the same fixed position in alignment.

  521. So let's take it back to children.

  522. You know, we I'm not many of you have different family dynamics,

  523. but if you think about a family that has, you know, more than

  524. one or two children, you know their siblings, you know, if one

  525. child is out of alignment, you know, just use dinner for an

  526. example. If just one child is often

  527. dinner, guess what that is just caused a little chaos to

  528. everyone at the table. Everyone is affected, right?

  529. So if someone's at the table and they're ready to eat dinner and

  530. little Joey. I'm.

  531. Sorry, little Joey, first name I thought about so little Joey.

  532. He doesn't want to eat the green beans or whatever.

  533. And then he throws a temper tantrum.

  534. Not him. So he he's throwing a tantrum.

  535. Well, you know, all the other kids are eating, they're doing,

  536. they're supposed to, But this one is causing the distraction.

  537. This one is causing a fit. This one is not right at the

  538. moment. So yes, parenting, yes, they

  539. need to address it and deal with it and get them right back in

  540. alignment in the fixed position he needs to be in and eating

  541. those green beans, right. But that's a whole different

  542. subject and conference and all that.

  543. But yes, you do need to deal with it for sure.

  544. As a preschool director and children's pastor, yes, please

  545. deal with with that. But for purposes, I'm talking

  546. about you guys. I'm not talking about little

  547. John, Joey, Johnny, Joey. I'm talking about the grown up

  548. Joey that comes to feed here, you know, because this is part

  549. of us being part of the body of Christ is that we come to eat.

  550. You know, there's multi facets that the Lord built the church

  551. and part of it is we come to get some bread, We come to get the

  552. our shepherds here to feed us and it because we're his the

  553. we're the flock. And so we got to be hungry.

  554. But if somebody's messing up some stuff at the table, then

  555. that can cause some disruption and in unity.

  556. And so then this is what's so important as we get ready to go

  557. into a week of prayer and fasting that we get things

  558. right, that we're in right alignment, we're right fixed

  559. position. We're not going to get off of

  560. it. We're going to make sure that we

  561. got everything right. And so as we talk about

  562. forgiveness, let's go to James because we don't want to have

  563. any hindrances to anything that we're believing for.

  564. And we want to be able to come and connect with our brothers

  565. and sisters in Christ and know that I'm fixed in position,

  566. they're fixed in position, that was fixed in position.

  567. And guess what? We're all fixed.

  568. Then we can get in unity and we can bring some power together,

  569. bring some authority with our prayer.

  570. And guess what? We can see things happen and

  571. change quicker and easier if we're in the right place.

  572. So James 516 says this. It says, therefore confess your

  573. sins to one another, your faults, step your offenses, and

  574. pray for one another that you may be healed and restored.

  575. The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man or

  576. believer can accomplish much when we put into action and made

  577. effective by God. It is dynamic and can have

  578. tremendous power. So there's a lot to unpack here

  579. because it's first telling us that we need to make sure that

  580. there's anything that we need to confess.

  581. So we get it right. We go to our brother and we

  582. ultimately are coming to them to confess so that there's healing

  583. and restoration. And sometimes that can be a huge

  584. stumbling block to someone's answered prayers.

  585. And then they can say that prayer doesn't work.

  586. But really, we got to go back to what's on the inside that needs

  587. to be dealt with with my brother.

  588. Did someone offend you did. Is there something in you that

  589. you know you did? And you're like, I need to

  590. apologize. I need to make it right with

  591. someone, whatever that may be. And this is talking to the

  592. believer. Get it right because if you get

  593. it right, you as just a single believer on your own.

  594. It says that if you have a heartfelt and persistent prayer.

  595. You can accomplish much much. So just imagine if I'm in the

  596. right position, you're in the right position.

  597. All each one of us in this body right now, in this sanctuary is

  598. in right position. How much effectiveness we can

  599. have, dynamic dunamis power that we can have in the Greek right,

  600. mighty and effective that we can have if we are in the right

  601. position, if we're set in the Kingdom way and set in the

  602. Kingdom way. And so it's also, we're going to

  603. get to jump to it in a little bit, but it's also embedded in

  604. the Lord's Prayer. We're going to go through that

  605. in just a little bit. But that it, it talks about the

  606. fact that we have forgiveness and it's right smack in the

  607. middle. It talks about some things and

  608. then right in the middle it says that we must forgive.

  609. So that must be pretty important to God that we can't go any

  610. further in our prayer life with him and our conversation with

  611. him. If we can't, we can't forgive

  612. one another. OK, Matthew 6 verses 14 through

    Matthew 6:14–15

  613. 15, the amplify tell us for if you forgive others, their

  614. trespasses, their reckless and willful sins, your heavenly

  615. Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive

  616. others, nurturing your hurt and anger with result that

  617. interferes with your relationship with God.

  618. It says it, it interferes, Joey and those green beans is

  619. interfering at the dinner table. So if you've got a hurt and an

  620. anger that's unresolved, guess what, it's hindering and

  621. interfering the relationship with God that says then God will

  622. not forgive your trespasses. You're you're putting a blockade

  623. from from the flow of what God wants to do and what's in his

  624. will in the word when you don't forgive and you don't open that

  625. up. So it's so very important that

  626. we do that. And now let's go to the Lord's

  627. Prayer. So Matthew 6, one through 18,

  628. and it says this in the NSAB 1995 edition.

  629. It says beware of practicing your righteousness before men to

  630. be noticed by them. Otherwise you have no reward

  631. with your Father who is in heaven.

  632. So when you when you give to the poor.

  633. And it emphasizes when you, because we are to pray.

  634. It's not if you pray, it's when you pray.

  635. Give to the poor. Do not sound a trumpet before

  636. you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets,

  637. so that they may be honored by men.

  638. Truly, I say to you. That they have the reward in

  639. full. But when you give to the poor,

  640. do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

  641. so that you your giving will be in secret, and your Father who

  642. sees what's done in secret, will reward you.

  643. When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites, for they

  644. love to stand on the and pray in the synagogues and on the street

  645. corners so that they may be seen by men.

  646. Truly, I say to you, they have the reward in full.

  647. But when you pray, go into your inner corner, close the door,

  648. and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who

  649. sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

  650. And when you pray when you're praying, do not use meaningless

  651. repetitions as the Gentiles do for they suppose that they will

  652. be heard for their many words. So do not be like them for your

  653. Father knows what you need before you ask.

  654. And then it goes on to say, OK, here is how you pray.

  655. And this is what we we don't was known as the Lord's Prayer.

  656. And so we're going to read that in just a second and verse 9.

  657. But I want to key in on this. This is talking about the fact

  658. that our prayer time is not to be a brag, you know,

  659. braggadacious, so to speak. If I want to use that word it

  660. the people that were Gentiles just wanted to brag.

  661. It was all about just putting on a show inside.

  662. They weren't changed. So everything that they were

  663. doing on the outside was just just to make it look like it was

  664. something. No, it's deeper with God.

  665. God wants something way more than just me check in a box.

  666. Just like when we read the word, It's not just about us getting

  667. it done. Prayer is not like that either.

  668. And it's also not about us just flaunting and and being now

  669. there's a moment when we have corporate prayer that we should

  670. be talking. And it's not that we're talking

  671. loud so everybody can hear us, but we're talking in the

  672. boldness and authority that we have because we're proclaiming

  673. things out to the Lord. And that's a little bit

  674. different. And I imagine pastor would have

  675. no problem with us if we, we all were in here.

  676. Just like it's time for praise and worship.

  677. And there's there's a, a volume change with our with our lips

  678. and our mouths as we're singing. When we come in prayer, we can

  679. have that. It doesn't have to be quiet and

  680. solemn. And we can't say anything

  681. because they can't hear it. That's not what this is saying.

  682. We don't have to whisper. We can talk.

  683. We can, we can speak out and, and the authority that we have

  684. and talk because really that's what it is.

  685. It's just talking to God and just it doesn't have to be

  686. eloquent and, and all flowy and perfect and new King James or

  687. not new King King James version. It doesn't have to be that like

  688. it's not formal. It's not formal.

  689. It's just you talking to the king, speaking at his will.

  690. So it's so easy to look at this example and say, OK, not

  691. supposed to do that, not supposed to do that, OK, this is

  692. what I'm supposed to do. And this he tells us in verse 9.

  693. He says I want you to pray this way our.

  694. Father who art in heaven, or who is in heaven, hallowed be your

  695. name, your Kingdom come. Down here, right, your will be

  696. done on earth as it is in heaven.

  697. Give us this day Our Daily Bread, and forgive us.

  698. There's that forgiveness of our debts, as we also have forgiven

  699. our debtors. And do not lead us in

  700. temptation, but deliver us from evil.

  701. For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

  702. Amen. So again in verse 14 it talks

  703. about forgiveness. Again it says if.

  704. For if you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly

  705. Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive

  706. others, then you, your father will not forgive your

  707. transgressions goes on to same verse 16 whenever again not if

  708. you pray, but whenever. Now he's talking about fasting.

  709. He said don't when you fast, don't put on a gloomy face as

  710. the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that

  711. they will be noticed by men. And they were went that they are

  712. fasting. Truly, I say to you that they

  713. will have the reward in full, but you when you fast, anoint

  714. your head, wash your face so that your fasting will not be

  715. noticed by men, but your father who is in secret and your father

  716. who sees what's what's done in secret or reward you.

  717. Of course, we're pastors called and said we're going to have a

  718. time of corporate prayer and fasting.

  719. You know, we should live really a fasted life when, when that

  720. what that means is at any moment, if the Lord says I need

  721. you to adjust this or tweak this and I need you to maybe abstain

  722. from this food, or maybe there's something that you're needing an

  723. answer on that is part of living a fasted life that you take some

  724. time and you starve the flesh so that you can let your that your

  725. soul realm get connected with the spirit and you can hear and

  726. be finely tuned because that's really what it's about.

  727. Fasting is not, you know, although it will be helpful

  728. sometimes to get rid of distractions of media and TV and

  729. things like that. But scripturally a fast is about

  730. fasting a food item or, or food group or sometimes food all

  731. together. And so you want to be led by the

  732. spirit on that, on what it should be that that God is

  733. asking you to do because it, it's not the same for everybody.

  734. God knows what you're dealing with and what you need.

  735. And so whatever that may be, may be a meal, it may be a whole

  736. food group, it may be you're going to, you know, cut out

  737. something that you is really maybe has a hold on you.

  738. And nothing in this life should ever have so much of a hold on

  739. us that we can't say, God, I'm done with that.

  740. I just want you and all. Of you is OK.

  741. And so these moments and these times of prayer and fasting are

  742. are times for us to consecrate this, this snippet of time,

  743. although we're again supposed to be praying everyday, praying

  744. without ceasing. These are moments though

  745. corporately though we're all in our regular routines, but we're

  746. taking a moment to really concentrate and consecrate our

  747. time during a prayer and a fast. And so this coming week, as we

  748. start on Sunday, whatever it is that God's placing in your life

  749. to to take a take a, a pause or a break on, you can do it.

  750. You can do it if you've never. Fasted before it's it.

  751. You can do it. Your flesh will will be OK.

  752. It will want to rise up, whatever it is that that God's

  753. calling you to to put down for the weak.

  754. You will be able to. Hear and be fine-tuned to say,

  755. OK, God, what is it that you need to show me?

  756. This week I went back through my notes because I do take paper

  757. notes, but a lot of times in here, it's easy just for me to

  758. get on my notes on my phone. And I, we've done a few

  759. different prayer and fastings this year and I went back

  760. through and not only do we do we prayer and fast on our own, but

  761. then we come and we have a corporate time here together

  762. during that week. So every night we'll be having a

  763. time where we come together in prayer.

  764. But pastors usually have a little moment or they'll do some

  765. teaching on, on prayer or whatever they're sensing in the

  766. spirit to maybe pray for something specific or minister.

  767. But I had some awesome notes and some things that pastors

  768. ministered during those nights, especially back in January and

  769. then. All the words that the Lord.

  770. Spoke to me during that time. I was stirring myself up reading

  771. them. And so I just challenge you.

  772. Not even just for this weekend and prayer and fasting.

  773. If you're not a note taker for me, I'll retain it.

  774. But I'll be honest, it's a discipline.

  775. I, it's a discipline for me. It's one of those things that I,

  776. I take notes because it helps to, to concentrate and, and keep

  777. myself fixed and focused on what's being said.

  778. And I, I have a little thing on my notes and I'll write Mt,

  779. which means it's my thought, which I know it's not really my

  780. thought. It's the Holy Ghost's thought.

  781. But it's, that's always, I've just done that since I was a

  782. teenager. I wrote Real Uppercase Mt and

  783. when I go back to my notes, I know that that meant that during

  784. the message, it wasn't what Pastor said or who was

  785. ministering at the time. It was what the Lord said to me

  786. and gave me revelation. And during these times of prayer

  787. and fasting, the Lord wants to reveal more to us.

  788. He wants to speak more into our life, and He wants us to be able

  789. to have eyes wide open because the prayer and fasting is that.

  790. That's one part, but it's also for us to come together in

  791. unity, fixed in that position, Kingdom minded, stubborn,

  792. Kingdom minded people. That's that's when you want to

  793. be stubborn is when you're Kingdom minded.

  794. You get your mind so set and fixed.

  795. There's nothing that's going to change it that and those things,

  796. those two things, we can see change.

  797. We can see things move and we want to do that.

  798. So and looking at forgiveness, those are just a few things that

  799. the Lord showed me through Scripture today that we need to

  800. make sure that we are keeping our selves fixed in forgiveness.

  801. So if there's something that you got to deal with before you even

  802. get to the fast, deal with it this week and just have an open

  803. clean slate to say, God, I'm ready to walk into something

  804. this week. You know, I know, I know

  805. September has been a month. In past years, we have said

  806. separate timber, you know, separate a time of separation

  807. away from some normal habits, normal routines and again, food

  808. items and things that it you know, when you get hungry.

  809. I was just talking about to somebody not too many days ago

  810. and they talked about being hungry and that that is a real

  811. thing for people. You know, sometimes when you

  812. just, they reminded me of the Snickers commercial, I laugh,

  813. 'cause she's in here. And, you know, they, they, they

  814. made it really good when they said that they did their

  815. advertisement there because it, people sometimes do get a little

  816. bit cranky when they just haven't had a bite to eat.

  817. You know, they haven't had anything to eat.

  818. They're just, I don't know, Joey should have eaten those green

  819. beans, right? Healthier than a Snickers bar.

  820. But you, you get what I'm saying.

  821. You know, you know when you're hungry, you know when things are

  822. growling, you know when you know it may not be, it may not be

  823. food. We know when we're getting when

  824. things are getting testy, when we haven't been in the word and

  825. we haven't been praying and we haven't been community like we

  826. know we know what our own personal triggers are.

  827. And if you don't know, the Holy Ghost will remind you of of it.

  828. And don't turn a deaf ear to it. We want to be open and listening

  829. all the time to what he has to say.

  830. So get yourself selves in a position to be forgiven and

  831. grant forgiveness so that you don't hinder any of what you're

  832. believing for or what someone else is believing for.

  833. So let's talk about we talked a little bit touched on as we were

  834. talking about forgiveness, but purpose, you know, another

  835. position is what? Why do I pray?

  836. What's my purpose and and in even talking to God or bringing

  837. something before him. I've referenced it a couple

  838. different times tonight, but first Thessalonians 5 chapter 5

  839. verses 16 through 18 says rejoice always pray without

  840. ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances

  841. for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you see our

  842. participation. Sorry I'm skipping ahead and our

  843. participation. That is one of the reasons that

  844. he's given us purpose for prayer is that we'll participate.

  845. We'll get to that in a minute, but.

  846. We are too. To know that prayer is for us,

  847. it's our communication link. We don't have to go to someone

  848. else in the church on our behalf to talk to God for us.

  849. We don't have to rely upon an intermediate.

  850. Some, like some belief systems, are I can go right to him and

  851. say I blew it or I'm going through this or I need help with

  852. this or whatever, or hey, this is what's going on today.

  853. At what? What direction should I go in?

  854. This is why it's so important to know what your position is and

  855. where you should be firmly set. Because once you do and you dig

  856. in your heels and you say, I'm not going to, I'm not going to

  857. change anything when it comes to the word other than you're going

  858. to change when the word says change.

  859. But what I mean by that is you're not going to change.

  860. You're not going to get off the fact that you're trusting and

  861. believing and staying focused and fixed on what God says in

  862. his word and you're going to stay on that in prayer.

  863. So that's our purpose. So when we participate, that's

  864. our next one. We're position in participation.

  865. You know, there's a quote by John G Lake says that I'm

  866. paraphrasing, but there he says that man, we can't do anything

  867. unless man prays basically that we want to see change.

  868. God won't do it. He won't do it because he can't

  869. do it without us. God has already made the way,

  870. but He can't make the change without us using our voice to

  871. confess, to proclaim, to use our authority and grab hold of what

  872. He's already done for us. And so if a man can't pray, the

  873. man can't receive. And so that is our way is to be

  874. positioned in our participation that we keep our set attitude in

  875. the Word, that we listen to the Spirit which will bear witness

  876. to the Word of God. And then in everything we do, we

  877. stand in that position and we know if it's something that's

  878. got to change, we know it will change.

  879. Because the word says it'll change.

  880. We don't we don't look to the right or to the left, what we

  881. say firmly focused and know that his word is true, that he's

  882. faithful to his word. So you position yourself only

  883. only only to see the result. Again, earlier I said, you know,

  884. you pray the solution. Now I'm not saying you can't be

  885. real with God and tell them the crummiest parts of what's going

  886. on in your life because you should just be real with God and

  887. that's fine. He's going to hear you.

  888. But when you're saying God, I believe, you know, you can say

  889. God, I'm going through this, but I know what your word says.

  890. I know what the word says. You always go back to remind him

  891. of what his word says, right? His word is what we stay fixed

  892. on when we participate in. That's in in anything that we're

  893. believing for. And again tonight our key

  894. scripture in first John 514 and 15.

  895. And this is the confidence that we have towards him that if we

  896. ask anything according to his will, he what hears us.

  897. So again, in our participation, there's a hearing two way, two

  898. way communication. One is hearing, one is doing the

  899. speaking. You know, we can't do all the

  900. speaking. Some that love to talk so much.

  901. Sometimes you got to stop and listen to there's a there's a

  902. two way St. You can't just do all the

  903. talking and you can't just do all the listening, right.

  904. God wants you to to be a participator on both sides of

  905. the spectrum. So again, he hears us and we

  906. know that if we ask whatever according to his will, we're

  907. going to have those requests because it says it, the word

  908. says it. And what I love about the fact

  909. that we get to participate in prayer is that God promised

  910. greater works. And if you look at what he

  911. promised us and then you see in the early church and Acts, you

  912. know, God promised us in the Scripture, Jesus would tell his

  913. disciples, you know, I've got to leave.

  914. You know, he, he would tell him, I'm going to die, I'm going to

  915. raise three days later. And then, you know, again, he

  916. told him I'm going to have to leave.

  917. And then when he came back and he was, he was risen again.

  918. I've got to leave. He, he would, he always said,

  919. I've got to leave because I've promised something better.

  920. And the better is what we're living in.

  921. He said we would. He would have to leave so that

  922. the greater one would be able to come, so more and more could be

  923. done. And so let's go to John 14,

    John 14:12–17

  924. verses 12 through 17. And it says this very truly.

  925. I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been

  926. doing, and they will do even greater things than these

  927. because I'm going to the Father and I will do whatever you ask

  928. in my name so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

  929. You may, may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.

  930. If you love me. Keep my commands and I will ask

  931. the Father and he will give you another advocate.

  932. Praise the Lord for the advocate to help you to be with you

  933. forever. That's what I'm talking about.

  934. That's the Holy Ghost on the inside that is with you wherever

  935. you go. Verse 17 says the spirit of

  936. truth. The world cannot accept Him

  937. because he neither sees him nor knows him.

  938. But you know him, for He lives with you and will.

  939. Be. In you.

  940. So that's the the Holy Ghost that resides on the inside of

  941. us. When we're born again and he's

  942. as our advocate, our guide, we can speak to him.

  943. That's how we are able to communicate with God.

  944. If he wouldn't have left, Jesus could only do so much as as

  945. living on the earth as an earthly man.

  946. There's three years of time and ministry until it was time for

  947. him to go to the cross. He could only do so much.

  948. He knew that if I sin now I've done my part.

  949. Now it's time for the Holy Ghost to do its part in the earth.

  950. And so we get to do the acts that were promised in this

  951. dispensation, this time of of life, we get to do in the acts

  952. that was promised that the that not only the greater would would

  953. come, but then power would be given to be endued from on high.

  954. And that power is the Holy Ghost.

  955. Now upon that then fills us with the Holy Ghost with evidence and

  956. speaking in tongues. And so we can participate in

  957. English or whatever your native language is that you were born

  958. into. But there's something even

  959. greater that we not only can I talk to God in English to it's

  960. much of my understanding that my mind can go to, but I've got the

  961. Holy Ghost on the inside that resides in me.

  962. And now I can pray out my prayer language and I, I can be, it can

  963. help lift me up. It can help encourage me.

  964. It can help stir me up. And then we're going to read.

  965. It's going to help me, as Romans 826 and 27 says.

  966. Now, in the same way, the Spirit also helps our weakness, for we

  967. do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit

  968. himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

  969. And he who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the

  970. Spirit is, because he intercedes for the Saints according to the

  971. will of God. So we not only have our we can

  972. talk to God just like we're talking tonight, but we've got

  973. the Holy Ghost on the inside that we can pray out our prayer

  974. language and we're praying out mysteries.

  975. We're praying out things we don't know.

  976. And so a lot of times, when pastor even leads us in our time

  977. of prayer, start out in English. Start out with what you know.

  978. Start out with what's on your heart about, you know, the

  979. church. And a lot of times when we come

  980. to corporately, that's not the time at that moment for you to

  981. be talking about all the things that's going on in your life.

  982. It's then for us to come together and talk about what's

  983. going on with the body of Christ, what's going on in the

  984. world that we need to cover in prayer, what needs changing,

  985. that we can connect our faith together and see that change.

  986. And so we get to be participators.

  987. We get to come and see as we are unified in the body of Christ in

  988. all of these positions that we've talked about tonight in

  989. righteousness because we're right, standing because we are

  990. right. We can follow in God's faith

  991. that He's given us with a confident expectation that

  992. whatever we're praying for, whatever we're believing for, He

  993. hears us and it's going to happen.

  994. And then we walk in a purpose. We're purposeful in our prayer

  995. that we are mindful of what we say to God and know that I'm

  996. only going to speak what the Word says.

  997. I'm going to come with the solution of the word.

  998. I know this is the problem and this is what I'm going through,

  999. but I know God's words is greater and it's stronger and

1000. it's going to give me exactly what I need.

1001. So I'm going to, I'm going to seek, seek out what the will of

1002. God is for this situation. And then as we purpose in prayer

1003. and keep ourselves fixed, then guess what?

1004. That participation, we actually act upon it and we we show up,

1005. we pray we should. What would it be if we all show

1006. up? What it would be if every member

1007. shows up every time that we have prayer.

1008. You know, Pastor Marcy mentions this in her book and it and it

1009. again, I believe our churches the anomaly.

1010. We do have a strong not only do we have strong and prayer strong

1011. and serving. I mean anchor faith rocks.

1012. You know, hands down. I'm a little biased, but hey, we

1013. should we rock anchor faith rocks.

1014. You know, we do the word and so we should only expect that if

1015. we're coming together and we got everything set and we're ready

1016. to hear the words of the King. Every time we come to service,

1017. we come to prayer just the same. We come not to get, but to give

1018. out because not only when you come to get the word and get

1019. fed, you're a participator. You know, as I mentioned, Joey

1020. didn't want to eat his green beans at the dinner table.

1021. But you know, family time and dinner time, and I know it's not

1022. as common in our day and age as it was when I was a kid, but it

1023. is important to do that. So if you, if you haven't, it's

1024. a good thing to do to have family, family meal time.

1025. And when you do that, guess what?

  1026. There's fellowship, there's participation.

1027. Everybody takes a turn and has something to say about how their

1028. day was. One thing, when our kids were

1029. little, I would always play high, low, OK, give me your high

1030. of the day. Give me your low of the day.

1031. You can tell me whatever order you want.

1032. And it would open up conversation, you know, and some

1033. days the lows were really low. And then that gives you a chance

1034. as a family to encourage one another, to strengthen one

1035. another. And so that's what we do when we

1036. come in here, when we're coming in prayer, we're not just coming

1037. with a problem yet. We may have some lows, but we're

1038. coming in here because we know that our power, the prayer, the

1039. prayer that we're coming brings makes power available.

1040. And so does the next person next to me.

1041. And as we come and get connected and we stay fixed in that

1042. position, we're only coming to see results happen.

1043. That's all that we can expect and the greater things that he

1044. promised would happen on the earth and in the earth at this

1045. time, we get to participate in those.

1046. We get to see all the things happen that were promised, deaf

1047. ears open, blind eyes seen. I know Pastor minister a little

1048. bit than this a couple of services ago.

1049. We have to know that the Spirit of God wants to do some great

1050. things in the earth, but it won't happen unless we

1051. participate. It just isn't going to be poof,

  1052. God's not magical. He's not magical.

1053. He's a God of order and he gave us exactly the right steps in

1054. what we should do. And so we can do it anchor

1055. faith, we can do at church. We can we can come and

1056. participate and be stirred up in our own intimate communal prayer

1057. time with the Lord that when we come here and we get together,

1058. we're all coming with with a source.

1059. We're all coming with a supply. And when we come where that

1060. source and supply, guess what? These greater works that he

1061. promised we're going to happen and this the the gates of hell

1062. will not prevail against the church.

1063. But we need to. Take our stance and we need to

1064. take our authority that we have in the word and put it to

1065. practice. We don't want anything coming in

1066. that would try to come. I mean, arrows come, attacks

1067. come. But if we come and we're ready

1068. and armed, then then there's nothing that can withstand

1069. nothing. And we know that we're part of a

1070. Kingdom that cannot be shaken. And so I just encourage you,

1071. Anchor Faith Church, that we come and this next week let's

1072. get ourselves ready in position for a time of prayer, a time of

1073. prayer, a time of purpose. That we know who we are in

1074. Christ, that we've been made right.

1075. That we're going to come full of faith, with confidence that

1076. whatever God wants to do in US and then through us, that we're

1077. going to be hungry and ready for that.
