Sermon
Spiritual Inspiration - Gifts of the Spirit - Pastor Angie Krulcik

-
We're going to talk about the last three gifts of the Spirit
-
and they are the the ones that say something, the the gifts of
-
inspiration. OK.
-
And that is prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues.
-
But first I have to lay some foundation, do some explanation
-
and talk about a few things. So the my favorite thing that
-
we've done, and I believe I've seen it already in the first
-
week before we dive into this foundation, is that you came on
-
that first Sunday and you grabbed hold of the hunger and
-
the desire to for spiritual gifts.
-
And I believe it's been a demonstration that that the move
-
of the Holy Ghost does not happen because of who's standing
-
here. The move of the Holy Ghost
-
happens because of you. It happens because of your
-
expectation. It happens because of your
-
hunger. It happens because of where
-
you're at spiritually and you staying full of the Holy Ghost
-
and the Word. And so that's key and that's
-
important. Remember that first Sunday we
-
talked about earnestly desiring. We talked about the difference.
-
And when you get born again and you have a brand new spirit, the
-
Holy Ghost comes to live on the inside of you and you should be
-
walking out those fruits of the Spirit and love.
-
Notice love is the first one. Joy, peace, patience, and we
-
could go on, but love is the foundation for all of these
-
manifestations of the Spirit. We have to make sure that we're
-
in love. But after you get baptized in
-
the Holy Ghost, then you can operate in the 9 gifts of the
-
Spirit that we're talking about this month.
-
And so you have to have the baptism of the Holy Ghost so
-
that you can put yourself in a position to say the Holy Ghost
-
is upon me and it's for service and God.
-
I earnestly desire spiritual gifts.
-
And then pastor came in that second Sunday and he ministered
-
on the power gifts, the gift of faith or special faith, which is
-
not, it is not your everyday, the just shall live by faith.
-
It's not that that's an everyday faith.
-
This special faith is almost a, a resting faith, a supernatural
-
power that comes on you to raise the dead to do something
-
supernatural. And he talked about that gift of
-
faith and manifestation, gifts of healings.
-
He talked about that, you know, there's gifts of healings
-
because there's it's plural, because there are multiple
-
diseases and sicknesses. And and so sometimes there's
-
needed a gift of healing that would speak right to that
-
disease or right to that sickness and then a working of
-
miracle. So miracle means, and he talked
-
about this, something would have to be created or something that
-
wasn't there would have to come into play, for example, where it
-
kindle the flame this weekend. And Megan Barber, who, who works
-
in the medical field, was talking about this muscle in
-
your wrist that not everybody has, OK.
-
And she, we did this little test and I have it and Coco has it,
-
but Abby doesn't have it. And so we were kind of laughing
-
about that. And I said, I bet Pastor Mike
-
doesn't have it either. So we came home and, and had him
-
do his little test and he's like, oh, he don't have it.
-
So he's like, oh, I'll get it. I'll get that muscle.
-
God gave me every muscle that I'm supposed to have.
-
I'm going to get that muscle that would take a gift of the
-
Spirit. It would take a gift of the
-
Spirit and operation to create that muscle in him.
-
And I don't think the Holy Ghost needs to do that.
-
So I had a private conversation with him about it.
-
So anyway, that would be a gift to the Spirit.
-
So we talked about those gifts and then last week we talked
-
about the three that reveal and that that is a word of wisdom, a
-
word of knowledge and discerning of spirits.
-
And you know, a word of wisdom is something it's a plan of God.
-
It's something in the future that would be spoken by unction
-
or supernatural gift of the spirit, a word of knowledge.
-
Trenisha came up and gave a word of knowledge, which was right
-
now somebody has an enlarged heart and right now God wants to
-
heal you. That was a word of knowledge and
-
then discerning of spirits is that you can actually see into
-
the spirit realm. And, and I just want to take a
-
minute because I want you to understand how important these
-
manifestations of the gifts are in the last days.
-
In Second Timothy chapter 3, it talks about a rise in the
2 Timothy 3 chapter mention
-
occult, a rise in sorcery, a rise in the demonic realm.
-
And you need to be aware of that.
-
You need to understand that. And that's why we as a church
-
need to be on top of our game. That's why we need to be full of
-
the word and full of the Holy Ghost.
-
But let's read Second Timothy chapter 3.
2 Timothy 3 chapter mention
-
It says, but know this, that in the last days perilous times
-
will come. And that means trouble all
-
around. It doesn't have to touch you,
-
you don't have to fall into it. But troubled times are going to
-
be all around. For men will be lovers of
-
themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud blasphemers,
-
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving,
-
unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, despisers
-
of good traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure
-
rather than lovers of God. Verse 5 Having a form of
-
godliness, but denying its power.
-
And from such people turn away. For of this sort are those who
-
creep into households and make captives of gullible women, and
-
loaded down with sins, LED away by various lusts, always
-
learning, but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
-
Let that never be us, Let that never be us.
-
Verse 8 Now as Jonas and Jombres resisted Moses, so do these also
-
resist the truth. Men of corrupt minds disapproved
-
concerning the faith. Jonas and John Bruce were two
-
sorcerers in the Old Testament that opposed the ministry of
-
Moses. And you know, Moses did signs
-
and wonders and there were those sorcerers right there to do a
-
sign and a wonder. Next to him was this sign and
-
wonder from God. It was demonic.
-
And you need to understand that in the last days, these demonic
-
powers in this demonic sorcery is going to be on the rise.
-
I'm speaking to you for a purpose right now, and you need
-
to not be ignorant. And the great thing about the
-
Bible is, is that we don't have to be.
-
And we can look at stuff and go, Jesus told us this was going to
-
happen. I don't have to be moved.
-
I don't have to be scared. I don't have to worry about it.
-
I don't have to be freaked out when something demonic takes
-
place. I have authority like Pastor
-
Mike talked about. We have authority.
-
You have authority in the spirit.
-
You have authority outside in your realm that you can take
-
authority over things as you're LED.
-
So it talks about these, that in the last days it's going to be
-
like these two sorcerers and these things are going to
-
increase. If you look at verse 13 and
-
Second Timothy, it says but evil men and impostors or another
-
translation says sorcerers will grow worse and worse, deceiving
-
and being deceived. That word impostors means
-
witchcraft. It means sorcery, it means
-
magic. You think the devil's going to
-
just going to show up in his little pitchfork and his horns
-
and say, here I am. No, it doesn't work like that.
-
He is slowly dumbing down our society through TV, through
-
social media. If you just take a minute and
-
just watch a few kids cartoons on a Saturday morning or a
-
weekday morning, you begin to see the the witchcraft and the
-
sorcery that's in those. I'm not trying to be super
-
spiritual. I'm just trying to get you to
-
wake up just a bit, just a little bit.
-
So it means sorcery and magic and, and let me tell you
-
something about this whole New Age movement and this sorcery.
-
They're committed to the supernatural.
-
They're committed to see magic and signs and wonders.
-
They're committed to it more than the church is committed to
-
the Word of God and the move of the Holy Ghost.
-
And that should not be so in these last days when, when these
-
things are on the rise, if we don't get ourselves together and
-
understand the Word of God and be able to operate in these
-
gifts of the Spirit, then we're going to be going.
-
What's happening, what's going on?
-
We should not be moved if somebody comes in here from
-
that. We've had people in our church
-
that have been delivered from the New Age movement and, and
-
this whole new at Crystals, all of that stuff.
-
That's a big deal right now. If you don't know, I'm telling
-
you it's a big deal and people get delivered from that kind of
-
stuff. And what do you think it looks
-
like when somebody gets delivered?
-
You need to not be afraid and not be like, what's happening,
-
what's going on? Because if we have the gifts of
-
the Spirit operation, we're able to discern there's still a demon
-
on that person. We need to get that demon off.
-
We need to talk to that demon. So.
-
So I'm going to show you just a couple of examples before we go
-
into those last three of what it looks like when demons are
-
coming off of somebody so that you're not concerned if if they
-
scream or if they shake or convulse, the scripture says
-
that's what happens. And so I just want to read a few
-
scriptures to you so that you understand.
-
And let me just preface it this way.
-
A believer, a born again spirit filled person cannot be
-
possessed by a demon, but they can be oppressed by a demon.
-
And you need to understand that. So, so a a spirit filled born
-
again person could be in here could be having a form of
-
godliness even and and there's still a demonic oppression on
-
their life. And a gift of the Spirit can
-
operate for for someone to be able to see into the Spirit and
-
go, there's still a demon there. Let's let's talk to that.
-
Let's get that off. And so let's look at a couple of
-
examples of what that looks like.
-
First Corinthians 11/13 Let me just read this to you.
-
It says for such are false prophets, deceitful workers
-
transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
-
And no wonder, for Satan himself transforms himself into an Angel
-
of light. So there's going to be people
-
who are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming
-
themselves into apostles of Christ.
-
And it says no wonder Satan himself transforms himself into
-
an Angel of light. I just want to say this to you
-
as a believer. If we can't take authority in
-
our own mind, in our own life, in our own home with our
-
children, do you think you're going to be able to walk up in a
-
place and take authority over a devil?
-
So I heard the O there. I, that was a spiritual spanking
-
or something. But we've got to take authority
-
first here. Get victory first here take
-
authority in our home first have authority with our kids and
-
there's let me not go there, although I want to No, I won't
-
parenting big deal. And and you need to make sure
-
that you have authority in your home and not be like Eli in the
-
Old Testament who had no control over his sons.
-
They were in the ministry and they went around having sex and
-
doing whatever they wanted to do.
-
And he died because of it because the scripture says he
-
did not do anything about it. So we as parents, as authorities
-
in our own home, we have to take authority.
-
I definitely went there. OK, so are we ready for this?
-
Are we ready for a gift of the Spirit to manifest?
-
Are we ready for demons to come off of people?
-
Let's look at an example in Acts chapter 8, verses 4 through 8.
-
Acts chapter 8, verses 4 through 8, it says.
-
Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere
-
preaching the Word. Then Philip went down to the
-
city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.
-
And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken
-
by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
-
Now listen to verse 7. For unclean spirits crying with
-
a loud voice came out of many who were possessed, and many who
-
were paralyzed and lame were healed.
-
And there was great joy in the city.
-
We're going to see it. We are seeing it and we need to
-
be ready for it. I remember years ago when I was
-
at a church when I first got filled with the Holy Ghost and
-
went to a spirit filled church. I remember the the minister was
-
preaching and it's going to sound a little wild, but but
-
somebody from the back of the service fell on the floor and
-
slithered all the way to the front.
-
And I was like what is happening right now?
-
And I don't, I didn't know what was happening.
-
I didn't understand it, but I knew God was moving And that
-
person went down to the front and the minister recognized it,
-
casted whatever was happening out or off or whatever he did
-
and they were delivered and walked back to their seat.
-
Thank the Lord and and I just don't want you to be surprised.
-
I'm not saying that's going to happen, but I'm not saying it's
-
not going to happen. Then we're not going to see
-
things happen. Now Mark chapter one verse 23
-
says now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean
-
spirit and he cried out saying let us alone.
-
What have we to do with you? Jesus of Nazareth, Did you come
-
to destroy us? I know who you are, the holy one
-
of God. You know, demons should know who
-
we are. We it shouldn't be I adjure you
-
in the name of Jesus, the one that pastor preaches about it
-
shouldn't be any of that happening from you because
-
you're taught the word. You know who you are in Christ.
-
But when we had take authority, the demons should recognize us.
-
They should know and say wait, don't wait.
-
I don't want you to come here because they know where they
-
know they're going to get spoken to.
-
They know they're going to have to leave that vessel and go find
-
another one. And you know us as a body.
-
We've got to encourage those that are getting delivered and
-
set free once their house is clean, we need to make sure that
-
we're training them so that demons, far worse, don't come
-
like the scripture says, to inhabit them.
-
And so when we see people getting delivered and saying
-
free, it's our job to come in and undergird them and and lift
-
them up and encourage them in the Lord.
-
And we're going to do that. We are that body.
-
I want to keep reading in verse 25.
-
But Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet and come out of him.
-
And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried with a
-
loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so
-
that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is
-
this? What new doctrine is this for?
-
With what authority? He commands even the unclean
-
spirits, and they obey him. This is no new doctrine.
-
This is the authority of God. This is the name of Jesus.
-
This Is Us speaking. Do you think you might see
-
somebody convulse? Do you think you might see a
-
demon scream and come out? You're going to see it.
-
And I'm telling you more and more in the last days as the
-
occult is on the rise and the New Age is on the rise, we've
-
got to have such wisdom and be led by the Holy Ghost and such
-
discernment to understand, because they'll even use the
-
name of Christ, that whole New Age movement.
-
They have this, this whole mind body connection, nothing to do
-
with faith, nothing to do with the Holy Ghost.
-
And they'll say you're so beautiful that you have Christ
-
in you. They'll take words in verbiage
-
from the Scripture and use it. And we've got it.
-
There's got to be something in you that goes, something's not
-
right. Something's not right about
-
that. We've got to be so in tune with
-
the Holy Ghost and know the Word of God that we can speak to
-
stuff, that we can take authority in the spirit.
-
It's no new doctrine. It's the power of God.
-
And the unclean spirits obeyed him.
-
So if we want demons to obey us, we've got to understand, not be
-
ignorant, make sure that we're taking authority in our own
-
home, our own lives, our own mind.
-
Amen. Three of the four gospels tell
-
the account of a boy who was demon possessed and Jesus cast
-
it out of. I'm going to read one of them to
-
you. In Mark Chapter 9 verses 26 and
-
27, it says after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came
-
out and the boy was like a corpse so that most of them said
-
he is dead, but Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up
-
and he was able to stand. I remember when Pastor Mike and
-
I worked at the group home here in Saint Augustine and we, we
-
lived with eight, what they called emotionally handicapped
-
boys. They're not emotionally
-
handicapped. They're broken.
-
And there's a difference when you have a dysfunctional home.
-
Those, those things affect you in your adulthood if you don't
-
allow God in and you don't allow God to heal.
-
But there was a kid there, not Jacob, but another one that that
-
would have these moments. He'll know what I'm talking
-
about when I say it. He would have these moments and
-
his whole face would change and his whole behavior.
-
If you're would change and I remember pastor Mike and I were
-
dealing with him in the bedroom one time and this demonic thing
-
came over him and he started looking at me saying you're
-
you're never going to have a baby.
-
You're never going. I hadn't I didn't have any
-
children by birth at the time. It just started speaking some
-
things. I was like, I stood there for a
-
minute and I I said to my husband, I'm going to do it.
-
And I because I knew I had unction that there's a demon on
-
him, maybe in him that he's yielding to.
-
And so we laid hands on him, cast that thing out and he was
-
he was violent, he was vicious. He was, you know, doing stuff
-
that that he would have had to be physically restrained for.
-
And all of a sudden when we cast that demon off of him, he just
-
stepped back and sat on the bed, actually was kind of drooling.
-
Just sat there was calm like that.
-
It came out and he was like a corpse.
-
He convulsed. He he had a moment.
-
We had to get on top of that, get that thing out.
-
And then he just sat on the bed and he was calm it back in his
-
right mind. This is real.
-
This is not kooky. This is not weird stuff.
-
This is, you know, the spirit realm is more real than you and
-
me. What's happening in the spirit,
-
what you can't see is, is a lot more real than what you can see.
-
And we've got to be aware of that.
-
We've got to understand that in the last days, these demonic
-
things in these, this sorcery and this occult is going to be
-
on the rise. And we've got to be in the
-
Spirit, in the Word, having discernment, yielding, coveting,
-
earnestly desiring spiritual gifts.
-
And that's why I'm so grateful for our senior pastors.
-
That pastor said, we've got to talk about this.
-
We've got to talk about the gifts of the sphere because most
-
of the church doesn't know and really is ignorant about it.
-
And so they don't operate it. They can't desire it because
-
they don't understand it and they don't really know how to
-
get in there and study it out. So, so no more from this point
-
forward, we're a body that's equipped and we're a body that's
-
going to go out into the ignite impact influence and say God, I
-
earnestly desire spiritual gifts.
-
I'm hungry for the Holy Ghost and full of the Holy Ghost.
-
So remember, these seducing spirits and doctrines of demons
-
are going to be so prevalent in the last days.
-
And if we if we remain carnal, if we remain, you know, not
-
built up in the spirit, you, you're not going to survive.
-
Can I just say that because you're going to be tossed to and
-
fro by every wave and every wind of doctrine that comes along and
-
every trial that comes and go, what's happening is Jesus coming
-
back. What's going on?
-
You got to be so strong that you literally can just look at it
-
and say, Jesus told us this was going to happen.
-
Lord, tell me how I need to pray.
-
Tell me what I need to do Amen. So we're going to be aware
-
because the Word of God is your foundation, and you got to make
-
sure that you're staying in the Word.
-
We can't get off even in the gifts of the Spirit.
-
Really, those things have to be done decently in an order the
-
Scripture talks about two or three at the most, because
-
that's why actually Paul had to come in and talk to the
-
Corinthian church because they were getting out of order.
-
And so, so the word of God, don't you ever, ever, ever
-
despise the word of God being taught, the word of God being
-
preached to you. That's when you should be
-
leaning in. That's when you should be on the
-
edge of your seat saying, talk to me, God, I'm yielded to the
-
Holy Ghost. Because that's when we're going
-
to see solid, mature believers who know how to yield to the
-
gifts. Amen.
-
So that's the foundation got to be laid.
-
Now let let's look at, or let me just quote to you Ecclesiastes
-
84. As these things are on the rise,
-
we've got to have not only an intimacy where the Holy Ghost
-
but Ecclesiastes 84 says where the word of the King is, there's
-
power. So we've got to make sure that
-
we have the word of God and the Holy Ghost.
-
Acts 1038 says how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy
-
Spirit and power who went about doing good and healing all who
-
were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
-
Notice it says he was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power.
-
He wasn't just anointed with just the power.
-
You know, that's how people get off as they just want the power.
-
They just want to move in the power.
-
No, Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost, the intimacy of the
-
Spirit of God. Remember, I read to you in
-
Second Corinthians that we're supposed to have that communion,
-
that intimacy with him on a daily basis, all the time, all
-
day, not just be hungry for I just want to see a sign.
-
I just want to see a miracle. I just want to see that's how
-
you get off. You got to make sure that you're
-
in the word and you're in intimate fellowship with the
-
Holy Ghost, not just power, intimacy and a life yielded.
-
You know, we're really living in the greatest time.
-
We really are living in the greatest time if we'll just
-
empty ourselves, if we'll just get, you know, as I read in
-
Second Timothy, it says people are going to become lovers of
-
their own selves. You've got to really guard
-
against that. You've got to really guard
-
against that in the last days that we are not lovers of
-
ourselves, our lives, what we're doing, our ministries are this,
-
this is what I'm doing. But then almost you just take a
-
complete backseat from ever talking about what you do.
-
It's just a safe place to be if you'll just every time, remember
-
I said this last week, every time someone gives you a praise
-
or an accolade that you just, you just give that as an
-
offering to the Lord that I just give that back to him that you
-
just don't take any credit for anything like that because it's
-
not about you. And we can't just look to the
-
ministry gifts, the pastor, prophet, evangelist, teacher, we
-
can't just look to those ministry gifts to move in the
-
gifts of the Spirit. It's the whole body.
-
It's all of us. Now let's jump into these last
-
three. Thank you Lord, I thank you
-
Father. Hallelujah.
-
First Corinthians chapter 12 Now concerning spiritual gifts,
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.
-
You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb
-
idols. However you were led.
-
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the
-
Spirit of God calls Jesus a curse, and no one can say that
-
Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
-
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
-
There are differences of industries but the same Lord,
-
and there are diversities of activities, but it's the same
-
God who works All in all. But the manifestation of the
-
Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.
-
It's always going to profit. For to one is given the Word of
-
wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge
-
through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same
-
Spirit, to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit, to
-
another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another
-
discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of
-
tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
-
But one and the same Spirit works all these things,
-
distributing to each one individually as he wills.
-
Verse 31. But earnestly desire the best
-
gifts. And yet I will show you a more
-
excellent way. So he distinguishes between
-
gifts, ministries, and administrations. 2 important
-
things to remember when these gifts are in in manifestation is
-
that Jesus will be glorified and the body will benefit.
-
The body or whoever's being spoken to and whoever's giving
-
the Word or are manifesting the gift of the Spirit, it will
-
benefit Jesus, will be magnified.
-
Now we're going to cover these gifts of inspiration, prophecy,
-
tongues, and interpretation of tongues.
-
These three are primarily for the church.
-
Remember I said these 9 gifts of the Spirit are for service, and
-
they are. But these three are really going
-
to operate right here the most the majority of the time right
-
here. They're for the church.
-
All of chapter 14 is about prophecy.
-
First Corinthians all of chapter 14 is about prophecy, tongues
-
and interpretation of tongues. So interesting that first
1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention
-
Corinthians chapter 12 lays out these these things of the
-
Spirit, these gifts of the Spirit tells us, teaches us
-
about it, talks about the ministry gifts and then says,
-
but you know, make sure love is first.
-
And then it goes into first Corinthians 13, you know, talks
-
about what love is, what the love of God.
-
You can speak in the tongue of men and angels and you don't
-
have love. Doesn't profit anything.
-
And then it goes on to chapter 14 and dedicates a whole chapter
-
to prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues.
-
Why does it do that? Why does it give us a whole
-
chapter? One reason because they were
-
getting off in these things. But then also because the
-
Scripture talks about there's diversities of tongues and
-
people get confused about that. There are differences of tongues
-
and we're going to talk about that.
-
If tongues were just a sign at Pentecost for the church, then
-
why would he give us a whole chapter explaining what these
-
different kinds of tongues are? So it so it gets rid of that
-
explanation. And I just say that to say, if
-
you're not baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of
-
speaking in tongues, you need that.
-
You need him. He's not a dove, he's not a
-
bird, he's not the wind. You need him.
-
You need the Holy Ghost upon you.
-
So let's start with prophecy. Prophecy is, I hope you're
-
taking notes. Prophecy is the simplest form of
-
inspired utterance. Oh, there's great clarity coming
-
to you if you lean in. Prophecy is the simplest form of
-
inspired utterance. It's supernatural, it's inspired
-
by God, and it's spoken in a known tongue in English for us
-
it would be spoken. Howard Carter calls prophecy the
-
poetry of the Spirit. Prophecy of the is the first of
-
these three gifts of inspiration.
-
But let me explain to you, if there's a tongue in
-
interpretation that happens, it is equal to prophecy.
-
Those are equal. First Corinthians chapter 4
-
verse 3 says, but he who prophecies speaks.
-
This is the definition for it, edification and exhortation and
-
comfort to men. So you understand this is what
-
happened when Pastor Mike got up here.
-
I believe it was during no, he came up and gave it what he and
-
during offering you had a little bit of of a gift of prophecy as
-
well, but he came up and gave an inspired word that that got our
-
attention right. It wasn't, it wasn't just that
-
he was even in the beginning doing the offering, but then he
-
then he got off on something that was like, whoa, it grabbed
-
you, it grabbed your attention. He got up and gave a word that
-
edified you. It exhorted you, it brought you
-
closer to God, it comforted you. That is the simple gift of
-
prophecy. And so for explanation purposes
-
for you to understand a prophet, the ministry of the prophet is
-
different when we say the prophet prophesied.
-
So. So a prophet should be operating
-
in a word of wisdom and a word of knowledge.
-
And those things, generally speaking, can be called
-
prophecy, but it's different than this gift of prophecy.
-
So you need to understand that if someone says, you know,
-
Brother Barry gave me a word of wisdom and that was a he spoke
-
prophetically over me. Did he?
-
Yeah, he did. And that's different, though,
-
than what Pastor Mike did this morning.
-
A word of edification, a word of exhortation, and a word of
-
comfort. That word, prophecy.
-
This gift of prophecy, it means to flow forth, to bubble forth
-
like a fountain, and to lift up or just spring forth.
-
It's fresh and pure inspiration from God for that moment, and it
-
brings edification. But not every inspired utterance
-
is this gift of prophecy. And for example, preaching is
-
not prophecy, but is it inspired?
-
It is. But during preaching, could a
-
gift of prophecy come? Yes.
-
So if preaching was this simple gift of prophecy, then you
-
wouldn't need to study because it would all just come.
-
It would just all come out. But during whether it's been
-
when I've been up here, when pastors up here, whoever's up
-
here, during the preaching of the Word, it's inspired and he's
-
proclaiming, but all the sudden there will be a moment that
-
grabs you. It grabs your attention.
-
It's like edification for you. It's like exhortation for you.
-
It, it lifts the whole body. That's the simple gift of
-
prophecy. So you'll know when it happens.
-
It happens in worship. It happened this morning in
-
worship. It happens when when they're up
-
here singing and get a word to edify you.
-
That's a simple gift of prophecy.
-
The gifts of the Spirit are there to arrest the attention.
-
So even at the day of Pentecost when tongues fell and they all
-
were baptized, that was a sign. It was a a tongue that was a
-
sign. But they didn't get saved until
-
Peter preached. So, so these gifts of the Spirit
-
are in operation to grab the attention of an unbeliever or a
-
believer. So we need to understand that.
-
So I want to, oh, I already explained that.
-
I already explained that First Corinthians chapter 4 verses one
1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention
-
through 5 says pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, but
-
especially that you may prophecy.
-
Why does it say that pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, but
-
especially that you may prophecy?
-
And it's because it's going to help us.
-
Do we need help? Do we need comfort?
-
Do we need lifting up? And so that's why it says
-
especially desire that you may prophecy.
-
It brings us closer to God. It's a vocal gift that that
-
brings joy and lifts us up. First Corinthians chapter 14
-
verse 39 says, therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to
-
prophecy and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
-
Let all things be done decently and in order, decently and in
-
order. I want to give you a couple of
-
examples in First Samuel. This one kind of is is mind
-
blowing. We got to think about it.
-
Sometimes we read the Old Testament and go, wow, they did
-
some amazing things for not having the Holy Ghost within and
-
upon them. And how much more should we be
-
equipped because we do, we have the Holy Ghost within us and
-
upon us. First Samuel, when Hannah
-
dedicated Samuel in verse 27, chapter 1, it says I prayed for
-
this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.
-
So now I give him to the Lord for his whole life.
-
He will be given over to the Lord and he worshipped the Lord
-
there. And then chapter 2, then Hannah
-
prayed and said, think about this.
-
So when I read this, can you think about this woman?
-
When I read this, this woman had a baby and weaned him.
-
So I don't know how old he he was exactly, but she weaned him
-
and then took him and gave him to the Lord.
-
Can you imagine as a Mama what she may have felt in her
-
emotions? But it says in chapter 2 verse
-
one. Then Hannah prayed and said, my
-
heart rejoices in the Lord, in the Lord.
-
My horn is lifted high, my mouth boasts over my enemies, for I
-
delight in your deliverance. There is no one holy like the
-
Lord. There's no one beside you.
-
There's no rock like our God. Maybe she started out in her
-
emotion. Maybe she started out just
-
saying, God, I'm going to praise you.
-
And, and, and I can only imagine that that there was emotion and
-
there were tears streaming down her face.
-
But but as she began, as she began to thank him, this this
-
gift of prophecy overtook her and she began to say, Oh, my
-
heart rejoices in the Lord. There's none like you got.
-
And can I just encourage you? Sometimes you got to just kind
-
of step out in the flesh and then the and then and then there
-
it is. Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, Lord. Sometimes you just got to step
-
out because you, you just know, OK.
-
I remember a time when I had injured my knee and we had gone
-
to a meeting. Marty Blackwelder was
-
ministering. And I remember I couldn't run,
-
much less walk normal. And I remember, I don't even
-
remember what he was saying. Something came over me and I
-
knew I just needed to take off. And so I did.
-
I took off and I was healed. I wasn't healed in my seat.
-
I wasn't healed and wouldn't have been healed if I'd have
-
stayed in my seat. But the minute I obeyed and just
-
stepped on out and and took off, it was all gone.
-
Completely healed. And I'm just telling you, that's
-
a word of encouragement for a lot of you.
-
Sometimes you just need to get out of your comfort zone.
-
Sometimes you just need to get out of your seat.
-
You just need to, there's a freedom on the other side of you
-
obeying God that some of you haven't even touched, haven't
-
even experienced yet. And I'm just telling you that
-
some of you, it's just going to take, even if it's just like,
-
I'm just going to step right on out here into the aisle like
-
this. I mean, this is what I'm going
-
to do. And maybe that's your step of
-
faith. That's OK, do that, but you need
-
to get out. And sometimes it takes that move
-
of faith for you, for the Spirit of God to come on you.
-
And things to happen. So I cannot imagine Hannah's
-
prayer and her moment of thanking God in that moment.
-
But that's an example of the simple gift of prophecy.
-
Psalm 134. There are so many psalms that
-
are the gift of prophecy. Psalms 134 says, Behold, bless
-
the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who by night stand in
-
the House of the Lord, lift up your hands in the sanctuary and
-
bless the Lord, the Lord who made heaven and earth, bless you
-
from Zion. Psalms 138 says I will praise
-
you with my whole heart before the gods.
-
I will sing praises to You. I will worship towards Your holy
-
temple and praise Your name. Praise Your name for Your loving
-
kindness and Your truth. You have magnified Your word
-
above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, you
-
answered me and made me bold with strength in my soul.
-
These Psalms are Psalms that some of you need to grab hold of
-
and just and just start singing them at home and just start
-
quoting them out loud at home. Get in the mirror and just start
-
saying them out loud. And there's something that ought
-
to, something that ought to rise up in you and go, Yeah, yeah.
-
Kind of like when I'm reading these scriptures, you're you're
-
listening and I can sense that you're, you know, you're leaning
-
in. But the more I read, you're
-
like, there's something in your spirit, man, that's like, I want
-
to stand up. I want to lift my hand.
-
I want to do it respond to God because it's your spirit, man
-
being strengthened, being edified, being exhorted, being
-
lifted up more and more. And when pastor gets back and
-
begins preaching the word, if something ignites you, then be
-
ignited. Get get up on the inside.
-
Nobody's going to stop you unless you are not in the
-
spirit. Then I, I have the I get the
-
tackle ministry because I want it.
-
I just because I want it. Actually, I want the tackle
-
ministry. But we'll only tackle you if
-
you're, you know, being kooky and not in the spirit.
-
And trust me, we'll know it and everybody else will know it that
-
you're acting kind of wild. OK, let's go to Ephesians
Ephesians 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5. Let me say this to you.
-
I want you to think about this in your personal life.
-
Guard against always having something in your ear and in
-
front of your face. Because if you always have
-
something in your ear and you always have gotten social media
-
in front of you, you're not building your spirit up.
-
If you think that you can just come and sit in church and not
-
go home and be a doer of the word by not only reading, but
-
singing praises to the Lord, glorifying his name, magnifying
-
him at home. If you don't do any of that, I'm
-
telling you, you're not full of the spirit.
-
There's no man and no woman that that that accidentally cheated
-
on their spouse or accident. We went that was a spirit filled
-
believer. No, they weren't.
-
No, they weren't full of the spirit that day, and they
-
weren't filled with the spirit probably about a month before
-
either. You got to make sure that you're
-
full of the Holy Ghost. And that means it doesn't matter
-
how you feel. I'm telling you, if we can just
-
grab a hold of it, it doesn't matter how you feel.
-
You just got to grab. Oh, I bless you, Lord, all the
-
servants of. I bless you, Lord, You're so
-
good. Your mercy endures forever.
-
Thank you, Lord, that you give strength to my soul.
-
Thank, thank you, Lord, that you quicken me, that you get home,
-
do these things because it doesn't matter that you can come
-
in here and do it. You know, the Lord spoke to me
-
years ago. Thank you, Lord.
-
Hallelujah spoke to me years ago about Saul and how he, David
-
would come in and play for him because he was tormented and,
-
and every time David played for him, he would feel good and the
-
torment would go. But then when David would leave,
-
there he was. And, and the Lord spoke to me
-
and said, many people in the church are that way.
-
They come in and they, they feel better 'cause they're in the
-
church and they feel better because they worship and they
-
feel better 'cause they heard the word and they go home and
-
they stay in the same torment and the same strongholds and the
-
same bondages should never be. God created us to be a mighty,
-
mighty force on the earth, on the earth.
-
And that the Church of Jesus Christ could not be stopped.
-
The gates of hell would not prevail.
-
You're the church. So we've got to make sure if
-
we're going to, like I said, take authority outside of us,
-
that we're taking authority here, that we're living it right
-
here on the inside of us. Ephesians chapter 5.
Ephesians 5 chapter mention
-
See then, in this last day can I add to the Scripture.
-
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but
-
as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
-
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the
-
Lord is, and do not be drunk with wine, which is dissipation,
-
but be filled with the Spirit. We read this the first week.
-
Be filled with the Spirit speaking to one another in
-
psalms. There's the psalms and hymns and
-
spiritual songs. Singing and making melody in
-
your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all
-
thanks to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Submitting to one another in the fear of the Lord being filled.
-
Singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
-
Psalms chapter 96 says, Oh, sing to the Lord a new song.
Psalms 96 chapter mention
-
Sing to the Lord, all you, all the earth.
-
Sing to the Lord and bless His name.
-
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day-to-day.
-
Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among the
-
peoples, for the Lord is great and greatly to be praised.
-
Colossians 316. Let the word of Christ dwell in
-
you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one
-
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with
-
grace in your hearts to the Lord.
-
You know you ought to be able to sing anytime.
-
Make a joyful noise. You don't have to sound good,
-
but you ought to always be able to sing.
-
Thank you, Lord, you're worthy. I honor you.
-
You ought to be always be able to just lift up your voice and
-
and sing to him at home, not just here all the time.
-
And if you need help and you can't get at your own Psalm and
-
your own song to come out, just start reading the Psalms.
-
Just start singing the Psalms. Revelation 1910 Prophecies for
-
the Church. It's for believers, edification,
-
exhortation and comfort. Then he said to me, Revelations
-
19, I'm going to start in verse 9.
-
Then he said to me, right, blessed are those who are called
-
to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
-
And he said to me, these are the true sayings of God.
-
And I fell at his feet to worship him, But he said to me,
-
see that you do not do that. I'm your fellow servant and of
-
your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus worship God,
-
for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy, for the
-
testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy.
-
So if I asked you to come up here and give your testimony,
-
you know, months ago we had a testimony service.
-
I can't remember if we had a guest minister, if pastor did
-
it, but but several came up and gave their testimony.
-
They didn't, they didn't write it out, they didn't practice it.
-
It was just unction. It was just come up and give
-
your testimony. That is called prophecy.
-
The simple gift of prophecy because Jesus is being
-
magnified, Jesus is being glorified.
-
So the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
-
So for example, Raphael, come up here.
-
For example, I'm going to have Raphael not planned, not not
-
written out. Give the testimony of what
-
happened at PCI. Come up here, Raphael, the
-
testimony of what happened at PCI, which I could say 17 got
-
born again last night at PCI, but also Pastor also wanted me
-
to mention in Brazil, six got born again and three filled with
-
the Holy Ghost, Amen. And we're seeing that happening
-
here among this body too. But this would be considered the
-
simple gift of prophecy. He's going to talk about PCI and
-
Jesus is going to be magnified and glorified.
-
Amen. Hallelujah.
-
Glory to God. Well, last night, praise God,
-
Ernie and I, we were there ministering and I just had AI
-
just had two scriptures, didn't really know where I was going.
-
I just had one word and that was enough.
-
And during that moment, as was ministering and about humbleness
-
and humbling stuff under the mighty hand of God, the man was
-
just engaging. And then just one, one moment it
-
just clicked it just the spit of the Lord just started kicking in
-
so strong that he went a direction of jurisdiction.
-
And so obviously I'm in prison. So they understand what
-
jurisdiction is. And, and in this moment, I just
-
remember that, that these men as they were engaging and, and just
-
I said, you know what, if you don't have faith, you're not
-
giving Christ jurisdiction of your life.
-
And they're just engaging in this.
-
I'm like, this is not a religion.
-
This is literally a government where God cannot touch your
-
life. He can't heal you, he can't save
-
you, He can't deliver you. God wants to do something, but
-
your faith allows God to have jurisdiction of your life, to
-
break everything that's on the inside of you.
-
Now remember, if you don't give God jurisdiction, you're done.
-
Forget about it. He can't touch you.
-
So and I said if you don't believe in him, he can't touch
-
you. If you don't confess him, he
-
can't touch you. So this whole religious service
-
ain't going to do any good for you because you're thinking
-
religion. And if you leave here, if God
-
for some reason open doors and your time and your sentences is
-
finished and you're out and about and you still see Jesus,
-
religious Jesus, he ain't going to touch you because you still
-
have not given him jurisdiction over your life.
-
And so we're ministering this thing.
-
And my goodness, man, and these guys are grabbing hold of it.
-
And it's just that one moment I said, if you want God to have
-
jurisdiction over your life, Hallelujah, I got to do this
-
other preaching of your life. Amen.
-
As if you want the Lord Christ to have jurisdiction over your
-
life and be the Lord. Lord not save you.
-
Lord mean he owns you, He'll deliver you, He'll set you free,
-
you'll belong to him. He now has jurisdiction over
-
your life, which means that when he comes in, something has to
-
come out. Anyway.
-
So the Long story short, yeah, you did this to me.
-
So exciting. So anyways, man, when they
-
raised their hand, I said 12345. We counted 17 people, 17 people
-
that said I'm done. I give him jurisdiction, He has
-
control of my, I gave him up. And man, we just praise the
-
Lord. This is something so simple of
-
what the Lord is doing. I said you are now potentially,
-
I said there are now people here that are probably more free than
-
those who are who are out here. And so anyways, the Lord did
-
something great in their lives. You can see the difference in
-
them. They're shouting me, there are
-
free people in prison. There's church service in
-
prison. There's more church indeed than
-
in sometimes I have in here. I don't know why, I'm just
-
saying the truth. And they say and I don't want to
-
get out, but I said I got to go. I got to go.
-
I can't, you know, stay here. But the Lord did some great 17
-
people gave Christ's jurisdiction over their life.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, Lord. That is a testimony of Jesus.
-
That is a simple gift of prophecy and manifestation.
-
Was Jesus being glorified? Was he being magnified?
-
Did 17 people come into the Kingdom of God?
-
Yeah, we magnify the Lord because of that.
-
And this is a simple gift of prophecy.
-
Now let's move on to the gift of tongues and interpretation of
-
tongues. So the Scripture talks about
-
diverse kinds of tongues or different kinds of tongues.
-
So different kinds of tongues is supernatural utterance by the
-
Holy Spirit in languages never learned by the speaker, not
-
understood by the mind of the speaker, nor necessarily
-
understood by the hearer. So we will see.
-
Let me just say this to you. You'll see a connection to all
-
the other gifts of the Spirit because of praying and tongues,
-
but there's different kinds of tongues.
-
So all everything that happens with tongues we've got to
-
understand because first Corinthians chapter 14 explains
1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention
-
it to us, the differences. And Brother Hagin made a a
-
comment that I wanted to read. He said the more I pray and
-
worship in tongues, the more manifestations of the other
-
gifts of the Spirit I have. The less I do, the less
-
manifestations I have. Speaking in tongues is the door
-
into all the rest of the gifts of the Spirit.
-
You cannot live, and I want to say this to you, cannot live a
-
spirit filled life and not ever have the gifts of the Spirit
-
manifestation in this last day revival.
-
We've got to be fluent and understand how to flow with Him
-
and how to yield to him. Mark chapter 1617 says, and
-
these signs shall follow them that would believe in my name.
-
They will cast out devils, and they shall speak with new
-
tongues. Tongues is a supernatural sign.
-
Jesus said that tongues would be a sign that will follow
-
believers and we should all speak with tongues.
-
Now let me explain to you the three different ways tongues can
-
operate. Tongues can be a sign.
-
Acts chapter 2 was a sign tongues were given as a sign of
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
a new dispensation the Holy Ghost coming upon.
-
And tongues can be a sign for an unbeliever in the scripture
-
talks about that tongues can also be a ministry tongue, which
-
is a tongue and interpretation that is given equal to the gift
-
of prophecy for the edification of the body.
-
And then tongues is also for personal use.
-
And you need to understand the difference because people take
-
the scripture out of context. Should all speak with tongues?
-
No, what's it talking about? That's talking about a tongue
-
and interpretation of tongue that's going to be given in
-
front of the church. It's not talking about your
-
personal tongue, because if it was, why did Paul say I pray in
-
tongues more than you all? So you got to understand the
-
scripture and know the difference. 1st Corinthians 14
-
two says for he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men,
-
but to God, for no one understands him.
-
However, in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
-
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.
-
What is this? A personal tongue edifies
-
himself, but he who prophecies edifies the Church.
-
Verse 5, I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that
-
you prophesied, For he prophesizes greater than he who
-
speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets that the
-
church may receive edification. So here is talking about if it's
-
going to be a ministry tongue, it has to be interpreted.
-
I cannot get up here and give a tongue that is clearly for the
-
body and there not be an interpretation.
-
But it does not mean that you're not going to walk in this church
-
and you're not going to hear us pray in tongues at moments.
-
But you know the difference. If there's a tongue given to the
-
church, it's going to be clear, it's going to be bold, it's
-
going to be out loud so that the the church will know there's a
-
tongue and interpretation coming.
-
Pay attention. But it doesn't mean you might
-
not hear us up here praying or hear somebody in the seat
-
praying in tongues. And that tongue does not need to
-
be interpreted. That is your personal tongue and
-
you need that. The Bible says in Jude,
-
brethren, build yourself up in your most holy faith by praying
-
in the Spirit. This is how you stay built up.
-
It's like you can sing in the Spirit, you can talk in the
-
Spirit, pray in the Spirit, you can sing with your
-
understanding, you can sing in the Spirit.
-
You can do all of those things, but you need to be praying in
-
tongues. You need to be doing that.
-
So the last one is interpretation of tongues.
-
The interpretation of tongues is the supernatural showing forth
-
by the Spirit the meaning of an utterance in other tongues.
-
So if I was to give a tongue, then there has to be an
-
interpretation, and an interpretation is not going to
-
happen unless there's a tongue. Otherwise, it's just the gift of
-
prophecy. OK, so this can be public or
-
private. You could have a tongue in your
-
personal life that that the Lord could interpret for you.
-
You could be in a private prayer time, just you and the Lord and
-
you. You have function that that
-
needs interpretation and the Holy Ghost is right there to
-
interpret that for you. But in public always because
-
it'll be a sign for the unbeliever and it could be a
-
word of, of exhortation for the body always has to be an
-
interpretation. Now a public example is first
-
Corinthians 12/30. It says do all have gifts, do
-
all speak with tongues, do all interpret, but earnestly desire
-
the best gifts. And yet I show you a more
-
excellent way. So he's saying not everybody
-
should get up here and give a tongue, not everybody should
-
come up here and prophecy. Not everybody can come up here
-
and give a word of wisdom or a word of knowledge decently and
-
in order. But privately, First Corinthians
-
1418 says I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.
-
Yet yet in the church, I would rather speak 5 words with my
-
understanding that I may teach others also than 10,000 words in
-
a tongue. So you understand this, these
-
gifts of inspiration are mainly going to operate here.
-
Prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues and
-
you're going to see it and it's not always going to be
-
announced. Pastor Mike, when he came up and
-
gave us a word of exhortation, that simple gift of prophecy
-
didn't say that was prophecy. It's not going to be something
-
that's announced, although for teaching purposes, we're
-
teaching it. We're explaining it and coming
-
up here and saying that was the gift of prophecy.
-
Trenisha coming up, that was a word of knowledge.
-
God is teaching us. God is showing us these things
-
so that we can operate in them. Listen, we live in the latter
-
rain. You know that.
-
We live in the last days. We live in the outpouring of the
-
Holy Ghost. First Corinthians chapter 14
1 Corinthians 14 chapter mention
-
says banned. You can come pursue love and
-
seek earnestly the spiritual things and rather that you may
-
prophecy, pursue love. And I encourage you and exhort
-
you, as we've taught all nine of these gifts and manifestations
-
of the Spirit, that you understand that in this church
-
and in life, those things need to be done decently and in
-
order. And it has to be.
-
It has to be backed by love. Love has to be your foundation.
-
You cannot want to get up here and magnify yourself or think
-
that you're super spiritual or think, look what God did for me.
-
And that's why I caution you, if you ever do come up and give a
-
word or a tongue or interpretation or, or operate in
-
any of the gifts of the Spirit, that you walk off this platform
-
and you leave it right there that you walk off of here and
-
you say, God, that was you. And I thank you, Lord, that the
-
people were lifted up, that the people were encouraged, the
-
people were edified. And I won't speak another word
-
about it. And if we take that position as
-
a body and in the right kind of boldness and humility, I believe
-
God wants to use us mightily. God is opening so many doors in
-
this community and outside of this community.
-
And we, when we go to these things, when we enter into these
-
events, whether it be here or outside of here, we need to be
-
full of the word and yielded to the Holy Ghost.
-
And I want to encourage you when you're doing things to say,
-
Lord, I yield myself to you and God, I earnestly desire
-
spiritual gifts. Lord, I covet them.
-
If you desire to move in a gift of the Spirit, I'm yielded to
-
it. I'm ready for it.
-
There's no place for pride. There's no place for self
-
seeking. But I believe God wants us to be
-
a body that moves in the supernatural, that moves in the
-
gifts of the spirit. And let me say this to you,
-
spiritual things are spiritually discerned.
-
They are spiritually discerned. And I say that to you because if
-
we're not in the Spirit and we're not strong in the Lord, we
-
don't have the the strong spirit of the man that the Bible talks
-
about, then we may not discern things properly.
-
And God wants us to be spiritually full, spiritually in
-
tune. I want to read as we close
-
Isaiah chapter 61, the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me.
Isaiah 61 chapter mention
-
You need to, you need to say it. I want you to say it with me.
-
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has
-
anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor.
-
He sent me to heal the broken hearted, To proclaim liberty to
-
the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are
-
bound. To proclaim the acceptable year
-
of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God.
-
To comfort all who mourn, and to console those who mourn in Zion.
-
To give them beauty crashes the oil of joy for mourning, the
-
garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be
-
called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that
-
He may be glorified, that He may be glorified.
-
Hallelujah. I want to end with First
-
Corinthians 1412. Even so, you since you are
-
zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the
-
Church that you seek to excel.
