The Shepherd - Kingdom Peace Part 2 - with Pastor Marci Glisson

I want to focus on the next point, but I want to read out of

John. I did not read this last week

and I want to read this about out of John 21 verses 15 through

John 21:15–17

17, John 2115 through 17. It says this.

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon,

Peter, Simon son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?

And he said to him, yes Lord, you know that I love you.

And he said to him, feed my lambs.

Now, this is Jesus, right, talking to Peter who is getting

ready to what? Help usher in the church and

help usher in the church. And he's listen to what?

Listen to the discourse that he's having with Peter.

He said to him, feed my lambs. Now look at this.

He's letting him know we're getting ready to usher in the

church because we know on the day of Pentecost, right, 3000

were added to the church and we see that now we have a bunch of

baby lambs. Lambs are babies.

They're baby sheep. So look at the process of him

talking to Peter. Listen, you're going to have to

feed my little babies. You're going to have to feed my

lambs. He and and look at the

progression. And he said to him again a

second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?

And he said, yes, Lord, you know that I love you.

And he said to him, tend my sheep again.

Now you're not a lamb, you're a sheep, which again shows us that

growth process that he expects for his sheeple, right?

That we are to grow and mature. And no matter the place of

growth that we're in, he still wants us to be fed.

He still wants us to be tended to.

He still wants us to be cared for.

And he see this example of what he's showing him.

And then he goes on to say, and he said to him a third time,

Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?

And Peter was grieved because he said to him a third time, do you

love me? And he said to him, Lord, you

know all things, you know that I love you.

And Jesus said to him, look at here feed my sheep.

This is and this one right here. Feed my sheep is a place of

maturity. No matter what age you get, God

wants you to have a shepherd in your life to feed you, to care

for you, to take care of you, to help guide you, to help lead you

into the right pastures. Amen.

Hallelujah. And so I just wanted to read

that one to you guys again because he's he's breaking it

down for Peter. That's getting ready to have to

pastor this church, that's getting ready to come in in the

book of Acts. OK, look at Isaiah 4011.

Isaiah 4011 out of the amplified.

It says this. He will protect his flock like a

shepherd, and He will gather the lambs in His arm, He will carry

them in His bosom, and He will gently, carefully lead those

nursing their young. Look at the care or the nature

of the shepherd here. Think about this with your Walt,

with the Lord as He is your shepherd.

Think about how he wants to care for you no matter what you're

going through. Think about how He just wants to

bring you into his bosom and love you and care for you and

guide you and protect you all the days of your life.

Amen. And so let's go to the next

point of Psalms 23 #4 It says this, that He refreshes and

restores my soul. He refreshes and restores my

soul. The Good Shepherd, the Chief

Shepherd, the Great Shepherd always wants restoration in your

life. Always.

He always wants to bring restoration, period.

He wants to restore to you what the devil has stolen from your

life. He wants to bring restoration to

you spiritually. He wants to bring restoration to

you physically. He wants to bring restoration to

you mentally. That's where he says he restores

your soul, your mind, your will, and your emotions.

He wants them restored from the trauma that you may have

experienced and that probably every single one of us has

experienced. No matter how good of a life we

may have thought we lived, if it was done outside of Christ, we

were damaged. Period.

And he wants to restore it all back to us, Every bit of it.

Every bit of it because He's a loving, loving Father and He

loves us. Amen.

So he wants to restore. He wants to restore

relationships that have, I know many of you that had broken

relationships that before you came to this church.

And God has redeemed and restored relationships that you

thought you would never have again with your children, with

your family. Come on, He wants to bring

restoration to relationships. That's why no matter what we

encounter with one another, restoration should always be the

first thing that we want in whatever situation it is that

we're going through, because that is the heart of our

shepherd. Restoration period,

reconciliation period. That's what he wants in our

lives. He wants us to be restored

materially. He wants us to be restored

individually, right? I mean, it's so personal in all

arenas of our life. He wants full restoration.

He wants original intent. He wants an original intent to

where there was no barrier between you and God ever again

because of anything that you had experienced from the sin nature

or from the tyrannical rule of the devil.

He wants it all restored, and right here is where most of that

restoration has to take place, right here.

And so first Peter 225 says this, for you were continually

wandering like so many sheep, but now you have come back to

the shepherd, the guardian of your souls.

You see that you've come back to the Shepherd and now his number

one thing in your life as the Good Shepherd and seeing him in

this facet of, of God is that he wants to be the guardian of your

soul to bring restoration in every wicked, twisted, messed up

thought that you may have about yourself.

He wants it restored. He doesn't want you to have a

messed up, twisted mind of inferiority, of insecurities, of

rejection. He doesn't want any of that for

your life anymore. He wants to restore it, and if

we allow him to be the guardian of it, guess what he'll do?

He'll lead us and guide us and give us.

He'll feed us what we need for every one of those things, those

thoughts to eradicate them so that you never have to look at

yourself like that again. You'll never have to think about

yourself like that again. You'll forget.

That's the old man. He's dead.

I don't even remember that anymore because you know what?

That is not me. That is not who I am.

You see what I'm saying? So he wants to be the guardian

of our soul, and he wants complete restoration in all of

these areas in our life. Look at Acts chapter 3, verses

Acts 3:19–21

19 through 21. Acts 319 through 21, it says

this. So repent, change your inner

self. I love the way that it says this

about repentance here because again, a lot of times we can get

in a place of thinking repentance is only about things

we can do outside. You know what I mean?

Like, I've got to change this behavior, but change behavior

only starts from the inside. Changed behavior only starts

from the inside, period. When you do it from the outside,

it's behavioral modification. Isn't that what we teach our

teen, our kids at Washington? What's going on in your heart

that's making you do this behavior?

And we don't want to deal with behavioral modification.

We want to deal with what's going on in the inner man to

make a real change. And when you realize that that's

what God wants to do in your life, works won't even be a part

of your thinking because you'll realize I can't do anything out

here to change anything. I can only do it here.

And then when I do it here, it's going to change what's out here.

See what I'm saying? So that's why I like the way

this reads out of the Amplified. Here in Acts 3/19/21 it says so

change your inner self, your old way of what thinking?

Regret past sins and return to God.

Seek His purpose for your life so that your sins would be wiped

away and blotted out completely erased, right?

Because this is the favorable year of the Lord.

This is the church age, the age of grace, the the, the age where

mercy is ever present. His love is always available.

Hallelujah. Judgment will come one day, but

it's not that dispensation yet, right?

So again, when we realize what he's saying here and it, it all

has to do with what's going on in the heart.

Because remember God saying man looks at the outside, but God

looks at the heart. It's always been about what's

going on in here because what you see out here is a direct

result of what's going on in here.

OK, so it says your sins have been blotted out.

That's why he says, you know that this is the the Jubilee

year, so to speak. Remember we talked about that,

about the anointing, Your sins has been blotted out completely

erased. So that what times of refreshing

you see this? So that times of refreshing may

come from the presence of the Lord.

The Lord is your Shepherd, and He wants to refresh your soul.

He wants to restore your soul. He wants you to be able to

experience refreshing at all times within your life, so that

for refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

Listen to this in the amplified restoring you like a cool wind

on a hot day. Hallelujah, that's what He'll do

in your life for you. Glory to God, He'll come in and

bring a time of a wind blowing through and just refreshing your

soul. Come on, He can do a new thing

in you if you'll just look to Him as your shepherd.

Hallelujah. Oh, he's my shepherd.

Come on. And you know what?

There's going to be times of refreshing and the restoration

of my soul. And you know what's so good

about this is that you can have it constantly.

If the Holy Ghost, if you are born again and the Holy Ghost

lives on the inside of you, come on, then you have access to the

refreshing at all times. At all times, no matter what

you're going through, glory to God, you can have a time of

refreshing for your soul. And what is so awesome about

this is because listen, he knows that we are in a fallen broken

world. And he even said, and James, in

this world, in this life, you will enter trials, tribulations,

There's gonna be circumstances. Just because we're born again

doesn't mean that we have no problems.

No, we're walking in a fallen, broken world with a lot of

people that still have sin nature.

Wickedness is prevailing. He the devil is still the God of

this world and all of his systems.

That's why I'm telling you, in these last days, we have to

guard our heart even more for having compassion on people.

Because, you know, I just was told this very night that people

that had put out Amendment 4 signs in their yard, listen,

This is why I'm telling you this.

They put out these signs in their yard and every day they'd

come out and they were missing. So somebody was yanking them up.

So he was out one day looking and seeing it missing and

somebody drove by him and screamed out at him.

I hope your daughter gets one day that is pure evil and

wickedness. And thank God this guy from our

church had the Holy Ghost on the inside of him to restrain

himself. But that makes you not want to

have compassion, because if I love you, Lord, that he would

say that that he wished that guy's daughter would be raped

one day. I sometimes wish we were still

back in the old covenant, but I'm working on my compassion.

Y'all? Don't get me started.

See what I hear before we come in to minister the word and I'm

dealing with compassion and then they don't tell me something

like that. This is the real world we're

living in. And so every day we're going to

have to choose again, we know this, to put on love, but not

only putting on love, putting on and seeing people with the

compassion that our Good Shepherd had for them.

Because if they don't repent, right?

So where was I at? Yes, so that times of refreshing

may come from the presence of the Lord restoring you like a

cool wind on a hot day, and that you may send to and that he may

send to you Jesus Christ, who has a been appointed for you

from heaven and must keep until the time.

Listen to this for complete restoration of all things about

which God promised through the mouth of his holy prophets from

the ancient of times. It's always been about

restoring, restoring always back to the original intent that He

had for man. Complete restoration.

Complete restoration and so we have to focus on that about and

from our Good Shepherd that listen, if things are still

going on in our lives, you know what he wants us restored.

He wants us restored. Hallelujah.

Psalms 5110 says create in me a clean heart, O Lord, and renew a

right steadfast spirit within me.

You see that renew a right steadfast spirit within me

because we're going to have to do that as long as we are

walking in this earth. And as the day grows darker and

sins abounding, yes, his light abounds even more, but that

doesn't mean that we're not going to.

We have to make sure we don't become desynthesized to the

wickedness and the sin. Because that's when we'll lose

our compassion, you see that? That's when we'll lose it if we

become desynthesized to it. Psalms 51 and 12, restore to me

the joy of your salvation and uphold me by your generous

spirit. You see that restore, even your

salvation needs to be restored. You have to stir yourself up.

You have to stir your salvation up.

You have to stir it up. That's why he says you can't

forget what the blood, the price, the blood is paid for

you, right? And you have to stir up the fact

that I'm born again, that I'm saved.

Come on and remember where I was to stir up the fact I'm born

again, I'm saved, I have joy, I'm excited that I am the Lord's

Amen, Hallelujah. Because if we don't stir it up,

This is why people what they call backslide.

But He wants to refresh you. He wants to bring joy In the

midst of times in your life that maybe you feel dry or you're not

excited about your life in Christ anymore, Well, guess

what? You never have to not be.

All you have to do is stir it back up and ask the Holy Spirit,

the Good Shepherd, Amen, to help restore unto you the joy, the

excitement of your salvation, that I'm saved, I'm born again,

I'm Spirit filled. Come on, Hallelujah, I'm

redeemed from the curse. Come on, I'm redeemed from the

curse of the law, Glory to God, Hallelujah.

And I'm excited. We have to stir it up.

We have to stir it up. Jeremiah 3017 says this.

For I will restore again. I'm letting you see all the

areas of life that he wants to restore you.

And for I will restore even your health, and I will heal you of

all your wounds, declares the Lord, because they have called

you an outcast, saying it is I and no one cares for her.

Listen, He wants to restore even your health in your body.

Everything come on your physical body.

I'm telling you that's why you can again every year be being

restored. You go home to your you know,

your what are they called reunions, family reunions or

high school reunions and you look at people that aren't born

again and you looking good. They're broke down on every

medicine known to man. Come on.

They look can't barely even walk at your age.

Look all beat up, tattered, broken.

Come on. And you got to remind yourself

of that. No, I'm strong in the Lord and

the power of his might. He brought health and healing to

me to restore my body so that I can be running like Caleb and

Joshua. Come on, in my 80s and taking a

mountain and that's what he wants, complete restoration in

your body. Hallelujah, health and healing

because we're going to see here in a minute.

You going to walk through some shadows?

I know people that's walk through the shadow of death.

Hallelujah. But they had to had to call on

the Good Shepherd. Come on.

So Isaiah 40 says this, and 29 through 31 says he gives

strength to the weary, and to him who has no might he

increases power. Even youths grow weary and

tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly.

But those who wait on the Lord, who expect and look for and hope

in, will gain new strength and renew their power.

Oh Hallelujah. They will lift up their wings

and rise up to close up close to God, like eagles rising toward

the sun. They will run and not grow

weary. They will walk and not grow

tired and will not grow tired. So your strength, your body can

be renewed day by day, day by day, day by day.

Hallelujah. So He leads me #5 He leads me in

the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

So here is a promise of guidance that he will always be there to

lead and guide you because that's what a shepherd does,

period. That is one of his main

assignments is to lead and guide the sheep also so that they

don't fall off the Cliff. Come on, So they don't fall off

in a Creek and get their things all.

Have you seen? I saw a meme, you know,

scrolling through those reels and I saw a meme of a sheep.

And I can't remember what the little the little saying was,

but the sheep was trying to run and jump over the Creek, but he

kept falling in the Creek. And so he pulled the shepherd

pulls him out and he takes off and runs again and tries to run,

run over or jump over the same Creek and falls in the Creek.

So again, God is there to help us, to lead us into places that

we're not going to fail. We're not going to fail if we'll

trust in him to lead us and guide us as a Good Shepherd.

And he's going to, like I said, always lead us to a place of

security, to a place of rest. He's always going to lead us to

peace. He's always going to lead us to

restoration. This is how he's leading us.

He's always leading us into green pastures where we can be

sure that we are going to get fed properly, that we're going

to be able to lie in those green pastures and kick our feet back.

Come on. Because he's provided everything

for us. That's where he's leading us.

He's not leading us to a place of lack or want.

He's leading us to paths of everything that we need,

everything. That's how he leads us and

that's how he guides us. And so He's leading us into

paths of righteousness for his namesake so that He can be

glorified, so that when people see how you're always being led

by God in every situation and coming out on top and people

recognize me. And you just went through this

situation and, and, and you ought to say, but I didn't go

through it alone because I had a guide.

I had a helper. Come on.

I had a Good Shepherd that was leading me into places of

righteousness, that was leading me into victory.

Come on, that was leading me into the good places.

Glory to God, not into the dry wilderness.

Hallelujah. No, the only time we saw people

going into the dry wilderness is because they wanted to stay

there. But He's going to lead us and

guide us into places of refreshing, into good pastures.

Amen. Romans 814.

This is why it's so wonderful that we have been given the Holy

Spirit, Amen. For all who are allowing

themselves, listen to that, who are allowing themselves.

Because we cannot allow ourselves to be LED.

Don't be a goat. Because, you know, there's

sheeple and there's goats right here.

They haven't been separated yet. But I don't want to talk about

the stubborn goats anyway, because I have compassion.

So we want to be let. We want to allow Him to lead us

into the right places at the right time.

Come on in the right season, doing the right thing so that

His name can be glorified at all times through our lives.

So that when people see us, they can see us always on top and

never on the bottom. Come on, isn't that what he

said? We'll be above and not beneath.

Come on, if you'll just simply follow Him, you'll be blessed,

and if you don't, there's a curse.

Proverbs 36 says this in all your ways.

Know and acknowledge and recognize Him and He will make

your paths. What straight?

He'll make them straight. He's not there to confuse you,

to get you lost, to get you down a road that you don't know where

you're at. Get you lost.

No, he's going to lead you straight there on a straight

path, and you'll be able listen to what it says.

A straight and smooth, removing all obstacles that block your

way. He's going to he's going to

remove those things that are standing in your way.

And we know we have been given authority to speak to anything

that would try to act like it's going to stand in my way.

So he's going to do it if we'll allow him and if we'll

acknowledge him in all of our ways in every situation that

we're going through. Psalms 32 and 8 says this.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.

I will counsel you who are willing to what?

Learn. So you got to be willing to

allow him to lead you, and then you've got to be willing to

learn his way and to learn of him.

Amen. Hallelujah.

Because you don't want to be a stubborn goat.

Psalms 119 and 1:05 it says this.

Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light to my path.

Psalms 3723 says this The steps of a good here it is and

righteous man are directed and established by the Lord and he

delights in his way and blesses his path.

Hallelujah. See, there's blessings on the

path that you're allowing him to lead you.

But if you want to lead your own life and go down your own path

and way of doing things because you like it and because you want

to do it and you want to continue to do this, then guess

what? You're going to have the result

of that path of your own way. And we know the result of the

paths that we used to be on. Come on.

And they were always bringing us to a place of a dead end.

The drugs, the alcohol, come on the the the girls, the guys

always leading us to a place of a dead end.

The money come on the position always leading us to a place of

the dead end. Because we weren't following the

right person. We weren't following the right

path. And many of us got off, and you

can still get off. You can still get off and get on

your own path and do it your own way.

And all you're going to have is death and destruction.

Because whatsoever a man soweth, so how he so shall he reap.

And that is still applicable in the New Testament and in the New

Covenant, even though you're born again.

Because he says if you sow to the flesh of doing it your own

way, guess what? You're going to reap the flesh,

which leads to destruction. If you sow, sow to the Spirit,

which is of him, come on then guess what, you're going to reap

of the Spirit of life. Hallelujah.

Still a principle in the earth today, even though you're born

again. So we get to make the choice.

Even still after we've chosen Jesus, we still get to make the

choice if we're going to live following Him or still living

and doing it our own way. Nothing changes with that.

OK, so we have to understand that we must be led by him.

Now let me read this. Psalms 31 Three.

Are y'all good? It says this.

Yes. You are my rock and my fortress.

For your name's sake. You listen to that.

For your name's sake, You will lead me and guide me.

We can trust in the fact that He will lead us and He will guide

us into places of righteousness. Or what I also would like to

say, He's going to lead us and guide us in every situation into

victory, into victory. That's where He's going to lead

us and that's where He's going to guide us into a place of

victory. No matter what we're going on,

if we'll be led by him, if we'll let Him lead, if we'll put him

out front and say lead me, Lord, I need your leading in this.

Come on. Because I know where I want to

go and I know what I want to do, but that's going to not be a

good result. So I want victory in this

situation. So I'm acknowledging you that

you want to lead me down the right path as my Good Shepherd.

2nd Corinthians 214 But thanks be to God, who always leads us

into triumph. Hallelujah, This is the Good

Shepherd. He's never going to lead you

into a place of defeat. Come on.

He's never going to lead you into a place of destruction.

He's never going to lead you into a place of abandonment, but

he's always going to lead you into a place of triumph in every

situation in your life. Hallelujah.

A place of victory, glory to God, a place of overcoming.

Come on, come on. A place of rising above that

situation. Glory to God because we've been

given the reigning spirit on the inside of us.

Hallelujah. So everywhere I go, I'm going to

reign. Come on, I'm going to triumph,

I'm going to overcome. Come on, all the the

circumstances, all the trials, all the things that we have to

still walk through in this life until he returns.

But we can walk in victory. We can walk in triumph.

We can walk overcoming, Come on. And never being in a place of

destruction, glory to God. Last point that I just want to

cover tonight before we close is a place of security.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I

will fear no evil, for you are with me.

I don't care who else is with me.

I want to know that God is with me no matter what's going on.

I don't even care if my husband's with me.

I just want my Good Shepherd, come on, my great Shepherd with

me, my Lord, my Shepherd, I want him with me no matter what I'm

walking through because I don't have to fear anything.

I don't have to fear anything. So he says, listen, even though

you're walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I

will fear no evil. For you are with me, you're with

me. That's why he's a man.

You will. God with us, He's with us, He's

for us, He's in US. Glory to God, Hallelujah, He's

with us so we don't have to fear no matter what we're walking

through. And look at this.

Look what it says though. You walk through the valley of

the shadow of death. We're going to walk in this life

through mountains and valleys, period.

We're going to be walking through.

We're going to walk through mountains and we're going to

walk through valleys. And you know what?

We're going to walk still in this fallen world again, where

he says there's going to be trials, there's going to be

tests, there's going to be tribulations.

There's going to be things that's going to take place

because the world is still in the fallen state.

But look what he says. You're going to walk through it.

He never intends you to live in it.

Whatever has happened in your life, as long as you can still

get up, you may fall. Come on, 7 times. 70, come on.

But if you'll just get back up, get up out of the valley, come

on up. The shadow of death that's

keeping death surrounding you. The shadows there, it's like a

cloud following you. But you're stuck there.

You want to be there. But if you'll just say no, I'm

supposed to be walking through this.

I'm not supposed to be here, I'm supposed to be walking through

it and it's just a shadow and I don't have to fear because God

is with me. God is with me.

Psalms 3415 and 22 says this. The eyes of the Lord are towards

the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

The face of the Lord is against evil doers to cut off the memory

of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the Lord

hears him, and what does He do? And He delivers them out of all

of their troubles, because that's what He is.

As a Good Shepherd. He is going to deliver you out

of all of your troubles. He is going to restore back to

you anything that you may. Look what he did with Job.

Come on. Job got double for his trouble.

What was God's heart there? That he would be restored.

That he would be restored. And he was, because he never

spoke against God, even though everybody around him wanted him

to curse him. So look what he says.

He says, listen, I'm here to deliver you out of all of your

troubles. No matter what you're going

through. It may look like death to you.

It's a shadow. Remember that first.

It's just a shadow. And I'm here to deliver you out

of it so you don't even have to fear that this thing can take

you out. But it'll only take you out if

you stay there and you don't keep walking if you don't keep

doing what you know you're supposed to be doing, right?

Listen to what He says. He says the Lord is near to the

broken hearted. Isn't that what he said?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.

What he's anointed me to what? Heal the broken hearted.

So the Lord is always He's near to the broken hearted, and He

saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous.

Listen to what He says. But the Lord delivers them out

of them all. He did not promise us that we

were not going to have afflictions.

He did not promise us that we were not going to have issues

that we would still have to deal with while we were in this

earth. But you know what He did promise

us that He would deliver us from all of them.

He deliver us. You know why?

Because He is love. He loves us.

He cares for us. He's a Good Shepherd,

Hallelujah, and he does not want his people in a place of

destruction, only restoration, says verse 21.

Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous

will be condemned. But the Lord redeems the soul of

his servants, and none of those who take refuge in him or and

none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Hallelujah. So he wants to deliver us from

all of our problems. Hallelujah.

Psalms 118 six. The Lord is for me.

That's that needs to just be your confession.

The Lord is for me. He is not against me.

The Lord is for me. Isn't that a simple confession

that we could say every day? The Lord's for me.

He's for me because I'm the righteous and He loves me.

He's for me, Hallelujah. He's for me and I will not fear.

What can man do to me? He does not want us to fear

anything, Anything and especially man, Especially man

because he has the final say and you don't have to fear not one

person, no man, if you fear him, that's the only one.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Glory to God.

Come on, have the worship team come up.

My last scripture, Psalms 27 as they're coming up.

Psalms 27, one through 6. The Lord is my light to see.

The valley gets dark, the valley can get dark and a shadows cast,

which means there's darkness. But you know what he says?

The Lord is my light. He's our light.

He's our light in the midst of that, and no matter how dark it

gets, His light is always on. Isn't that a hotel slogan?

We'll leave the light on for you.

He's always got the light on for us.

Glory to God, He always has the light.

He's the light. Hallelujah and my salvation,

whom shall I fear? The Lord is my refuge and my

fortress of my life. Whom shall I dread When the

wicked came against me to eat my flesh?

Wow, OK, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell,

though an army encamped against me.

Listen to what He says. My heart will not fear.

My heart will not fear. Though war arises against me,

even in this I am confident. Hallelujah.

See the confidence that you can have when you truly trust Him.

It says one thing I've asked of the Lord and that I will seek

that I would dwell in the House of the Lord in His presence all

the days of my life to gaze upon His beauty.

They delightful, the delightful loveliness, majestic grandeur of

our Lord to meditate in His temple.

Wow. Not only is he talking about the

presence of God, he's talking about the House of the Lord.

Do we love coming to the House of the Lord, meditating in His
