In the words of Peter, where would I go?
-
They have words of life. Hey man, First Timothy, chapter
-
3, verse 14 to 15, it says this, and I'm writing these things to
-
you, Paul, writing to Timothy, hoping to come to you before
-
long. But in case I am delayed, I
-
write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in
-
the household of God, which is the Church of the living God,
-
the pillar and support of the truth.
-
Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank you for the engrafted word
-
of God which is able to save our soul.
-
Holy Spirit, breathe on us now that we may receive this word it
-
and apply it to our lives. Father, we thank you that the
-
Church of Jesus Christ is alive and well and will be an
-
immovable force on your planet. And so, Father, we thank you
-
that we will be encouraged, strengthened, and to know that
-
you have given us a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, that the
-
church is the most powerful thing on the planet and you are
-
coming back for the reigning church in Jesus name, Amen.
-
Doctor Miles Monroe said. We're purpose is not known,
-
abuses are inevitable. We're a purpose is not known.
-
Abuses are inevitable. Do you understand just because
-
an organization is called something or is something
-
doesn't mean it stays in its original purpose.
-
We could even say this with the planet.
-
Planet Earth is not as God originally designed.
-
It's not functioning as he originally designed it.
-
Now that's not God's fault. It's the one who whom he gave
-
authority to, to keep the earth in this particular state that he
-
originally. But Adam fell from dominion.
-
He let go of that rulership. He gave it over to the enemy or
-
the devil, the one who comes to kill, steal and destroy.
-
And the systems that we have in the earth are not operating by
-
God because God is not in control of those systems.
-
God is in control of His Word and so the earth itself is not
-
functioning. However, we have, if you have
-
read the back of the book, as many of us here at Anchor Fade
-
Church has done, because when you get to the last chapter,
-
last verse, Revelation 2221, you'll see that there's a new
-
heaven and a new earth. And the earth got originally
-
designed and how he wanted it to function will function again,
-
except this time it will function in another way, meaning
-
that God will be just a little bit closer.
-
Instead of him just residing in heaven, He brings the city down
-
and moves on the planet. Hallelujah.
-
Amen. Because he always wanted heaven
-
and earth to be be the exact same environment.
-
You understand this happens in companies all the time.
-
Companies will start with a particular purpose, have a
-
vision go through and then through US growth and
-
development. All of a sudden it's models will
-
change and they'll find themselves saying, you know
-
what? We're not doing things like we
-
originally intended and had to go back and do a refocus of how
-
they've done things. We understand the church is not,
-
how can I say it? It's subject to the same
-
challenges because in the earth traditions come, things can
-
happen, and all of a sudden we can pick up ideas that the
-
church is because we're not intent in the Word to maintain
-
what God says about a thing. And all of a sudden we develop
-
traditions about things and then we change the model of stuff.
-
Yet we keep the same title. Well, this is church, however,
-
doesn't match the Church of the Bible.
-
Amen. Doesn't match the Church of the
-
Bible. And there are a lot of truths
-
out in that are within the Scripture, but God never
-
intended for the church to focus solely on one, right?
-
That's true on a truth, a truth. Now, one truth we know for sure
-
is that unless you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, you cannot
-
be born again. In essence, the lost, we would
-
say, needs to be saved. And I have probably heard this
-
statement so many times, you know, and again, it didn't
-
technically bother me until I kept going to Scripture.
-
And when you go to Scripture, you can't help but say, is that
-
so? So when I hear the only thing
-
that matters and the the the purpose of the church or the
-
role of the church is to win the lost, well, does the Bible say
-
that should the church win the lost?
-
Yes. But is it the only thing it
-
should do? Because if it's the only thing
-
it does, well, then a lot of people are not going to be
-
discipled and a lot of things concerning God are not going to
-
be spoken about. And I've heard even minister say
-
this many times, you know, well, you know that all be figured out
-
in the end. Well, God sent the church to
-
disciple Saints so that they could grow in the Word, which
-
means, what are the other truths out there?
-
But Paul who had the revelation of the church, OK, says to
-
Timothy, who is pastoring a very large church in Ephesus, he says
-
to him, the one that Paul himself planted in Ephesus, he
-
says, now listen, if I delay, I want you, I'm writing to you so
-
you'll know. Put that verse back up.
-
First Timothy chapter 3, verse 15.
-
Know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God,
-
which is the Church of the living God.
-
And here it is the pillar and support of the truth.
-
Now this word pillar is a column.
-
It means it it, it can symbolize a person of authority.
-
Paul himself said, I went to the pillars of the church.
-
He talked about a some of the apostles, the apostle James, the
-
apostle Peter. He said they were pillars,
-
meaning they were people of authority.
-
Why were they pillars? Because they had a firm
-
foundation of the things the king has said, spoken his
-
character, his way of conducting the Kingdom on the earth.
-
So they were considered pillars. But a pillar also is the support
-
of true doctrine. And when we say doctrine, a lot
-
of times when we think we're the pillar on support of truth, a
-
lot of times we fall back into this idea of just truth
-
concerning things of God or things concerning his church.
-
It's just God based. It's not world based.
-
We understand God can tell you the truth about what happened
-
back in, you know, 2020 money or what happened with, you know,
-
World War 2 or what happened with someone's life because a
-
word of knowledge can manifest so that you can know exactly
-
what took place and what's the truth about a situation.
-
So truth is not limited in one sense to just biblical things.
-
You know, you can have the factual truth concerning
-
situations. I know a lot of times there are
-
things that happen. I'm like, Lord, why in the world
-
I'm what I'm doing is I'm looking for truth.
-
Now, that doesn't mean he's going to give me the authority
-
to communicate why someone died. And anybody ever had that
-
thought? Well, why did they die?
-
You know what, there can be a reason for that.
-
And you know what? God actually knows that reason
-
and if we now God may not be God's not obligated to tell you
-
all the time, but if he if you see Kim, you're going to have a
-
better chance of the opportunity for him to say let me tell you
-
the truth about this matter. Are you hearing me?
-
But the Bible talks about the church being the pillar in
-
support of truth. So we are a column.
-
We are support of true things. In fact, the world should be
-
coming to the church for answers, not the church going to
-
the world for answers. But the minute the world, the
-
church decides that we don't care about the world.
-
Now we say we do well, we want to win the law, but we really
-
don't care because we don't want to know truth.
-
In order to know truth, you're going to have to change your
-
thinking. You're going to have to change
-
the way you think because God's ways are higher than our ways.
-
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and God will start
-
talking to you about some things of truth.
-
Let me ask this question. Is the word truth OK?
-
Jesus said you are to love me. Is that true with all your
-
you're finishing it for me. Great.
-
Most people stop there. Lord, I've given you my heart,
-
but does he stop there? He says you are to love the Lord
-
thy God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, all
-
your you know what? That's your whole being, that
-
spirit, soul and body, which means the truth of God's word
-
is, is that as a believer, the the 4050 sixty hours during the
-
week that you are out being a light to the world should not
-
get your physical exertion so much that you cannot make it to
-
church on Sunday. Because if you would say, well,
-
I'm too tired, then you have given your physical body to the
-
world and not to the Lord. Amen.
-
Same in anyway. OK.
-
And parents, you know, I know how parents are.
-
I was a parent as well. You know, our children would go
-
to school all day long and then we would after they've gotten up
-
early, been in class all day, studied, you know, mentally
-
they're exhausted. And we'll say, well, you're
-
going to practice now and then we'll put them through a
-
physical practice routine. Because if you're going to be a
-
part of the team, you're going to do extra travel hours to a
-
game on a weekend. They don't get off.
-
But then sometimes, you know, as parents, they'll be like, well,
-
I worked all week. Surely you understand.
-
OK, so a pillar is that which supports or has authority.
-
The word support means foundation or ground.
-
So I'm going to read verse 5 again because we're going to
-
kind of backtrack because it says, he said, now in case I'm
-
delayed, I'm writing to you so you'll know how one ought to,
-
which tells us you may not. This is how you ought to.
-
There's a way you ought to. That doesn't mean everyone going
-
to church is doing it that way, but this is how it ought to be.
-
Which tells us that the Bible has an expectation.
-
God has an expectation for how you live after you're born
-
again. So this is how you ought to
-
conduct himself in the household of God, which is the Church of
-
the living God, the pillar and support of truth.
-
If you do not have the pillar and the support of truth as the
-
part of the church, then God, the living God, is not going to
-
be obligated to be at your assembly, nor are you
-
technically going to be functioning as the household of
-
God. Now, I'm going to prove that out
-
here in the next 20 minutes. The pillar in support of truth
-
is a big deal when it comes to the church.
-
And I'm going to be honest with you, as John George says,
-
listen, we are living in the last of the last days.
-
And this is not hypothetical hype.
-
This is not trying to get you afraid.
-
I'm not here to get you afraid. I'm here to get you pumped up,
-
excited, because the greatest days of the church are ahead of
-
us. It's an amazing time.
-
Do you understand this amazing time?
-
I mean, this is like the Super Bowl.
-
This is a championship for the church.
-
I mean, the whole season started on the book of Acts and it's
-
been the season of the church aid to where now we're getting
-
to the championship, to where the church is going to mature.
-
It's going to be full of power. It's going to have the greatest
-
demonstrations of God. But again, we have to make sure
-
that we are right in line with what God's saying in his plan
-
because he warns now in the last of the last days, there's going
-
to be issues. People are going to fall away.
-
Why? Because they have failed to
-
recognize through my word exactly what I intended from the
-
beginning. And you cannot win a
-
championship if you don't get back to the fundamentals or the
-
foundation. Which means then as we have
-
grown as a church, we kept saying, well, I know people are
-
or I've heard that, but what does the Bible say?
-
My bedrock belief is not on the traditions of man, but on what
-
does the Word say? And if Jesus Christ is building
-
his church, which he is, then we must say what is the church he's
-
building and the church he's building is built on the as a
-
pillar and support of the truth and truth.
-
There are a lot of truths within scripture.
-
Jesus said this in John chapter 18 verse 38.
-
It said Pilate said therefore answered him.
-
Then then you are king and Jesus answered.
-
Now I'm reading out of the a oh what is this version AFVI can't
-
remember what be a faithful version says this.
-
Then you are king. Jesus said as you say, I am king
-
for this purpose, say for this purpose, for this purpose I was
-
born and for this reason I came into the world that I may bear
-
witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth
-
hears my voice. You know, the only reason, just
-
to come off what Reverend John George said, the only reason why
-
a person would listen to another voice is because they don't want
-
to hear truth anymore. They want to hear a lie.
-
And let me tell you, in our society today, people want to
-
hear a lie. Now, I can tell you first hand,
-
when we had the governor, there was a particular situation that
-
occurred that I, I was not personally present, but I could
-
bring the people who were personally present of how they
-
addressed an individual that showed up and the meeting.
-
OK, didn't, didn't, could not continue to attend the meeting.
-
So they got on social media and communicated why they were not
-
allowed to be at the meeting. And I'm here to tell you it is
-
an utter lie. What they put out an utter lie.
-
Every word spoken is not reality, right?
-
That's right, But their audience, who has an ear to
-
them? One asked the question, well,
-
why did they put you out? And the next answer was a
-
complete lie Completely. That is not how the situation
-
went down at all. 0 did not happen.
-
So what takes place here is that individuals following has
-
created something that they say had occurred in the meeting that
-
I was at, that never happened and at Anchor Fate Church, the
-
ones who attended, they could all bear witness.
-
That never occurred. That never occurred.
-
So I can tell you the truth about that situation literally.
-
Do you understand? God is in every situation.
-
There's nowhere God is not Hallelujah.
-
He's everywhere. So you post what you want to
-
post. God was there.
-
God knows exactly what went down, what was spoken, how it
-
was handled, what took place, and God ultimately is going to
-
judge those situations. I said he is going to judge
-
because I can tell you when the when you stand before Christ,
-
he'll pull up all your social media stuff and that's not being
-
funny. That's real because those that
-
are go before the great White Throne judgment.
-
He opens up books. What do you think are in those
-
books? It's every posting, it's every
-
word. It's every idle word.
-
Even with a believer, when you stand before the Bema seat of
-
Christ, you're going to be judged on every idle word.
-
Now not to get into heaven or to be in in in eternally with God,
-
but for the rewards associated with how you function as a
-
believer once you became in Christ.
-
OK, so Jesus's purpose was because he was a king.
-
Because again, the original function of the planet was that
-
man would operate in dominion like God.
-
Let us make man in our image according to our likeness, and
-
let him have what dominion he was to rule over the earth.
-
God never intended or never wanted the devil to rule over
-
the planet or to be the God of this world.
-
Adam gave it away because God gave it to Adam.
-
So in order for God to receive it back, he must come as a man
-
because it's man's right to have dominion on the earth.
-
Hallelujah. And so Jesus says, I come back
-
as a king because Adam was to rule the first one he fell.
-
I'm the second or last Adam, I will rule.
-
I'll take back from the devil what he took from when he says
-
took was given to him by Adam. I will take it back.
-
And he did. I said Annie did.
-
And Jesus bears witness to truth.
-
Matthew chapter 16, verse 18. The Passion says it this way.
-
And I will give you the name Peter a stone.
-
And this truth of who I am, say who I am will be the bedrock
-
foundation on which I build my church, my legislative assembly.
-
And the power of death will not be able to overpower it.
-
You know, we are learning some really amazing things by the
-
unction of the Holy Ghost of how the Bible's about a king, his
-
Kingdom and his royal offspring. Because you understand the
-
suffering servant is not coming back to the earth.
-
The the lamb that was slain has been slain, but the king is
-
returning and the King's going to return with an iron rod.
-
The King's going to come back and put down his Kingdom on the
-
earth. There is a government that he
-
has and and Christianity church does not fit his government
-
Kingdom. And so it's very important for
-
us to say, God, what are you saying about these things and
-
how does the church supposed to function and operate?
-
Because when you dive into actual Scripture.
-
As the Passion translated it accurately, it says legislative
-
Assembly calls the church and are we the reigning church?
-
Come on, are we the reigning church is a legislative assembly
-
of called out ones. We are all ambassadors for
-
Christ. We come into what is like an an
-
embassy where we hear from the home country in order to
-
communicate the policies of the Kingdom of God out into the
-
world. Hallelujah, we are now citizens
-
of God's Kingdom and so Jesus said now on this revelation or
-
the truth of who I am, I will build my church.
-
Well if we jumped up a verse or so and we will hear in a minute.
-
He asked them to question in the verse 15th verse, he said, but
-
who do you say that I am now God named himself I am.
-
Remember when Moses said, well, who do I tell him that you know
-
sent me? He said tell him I am sent you.
-
You know when Jesus said when he was being brought before the
-
high priest, He said I am man. When he said that remember when
-
they came to him at the garden and they said, you know, are you
-
that? He said I am many.
-
I mean, he was that was God and they fell to the ground under
-
under the power of him saying I am Hallelujah because the Son of
-
man is the Son of God. So then if Jesus is saying, but
-
who do you say that I am? And Peter says you're the
-
Christ. Jesus says upon this truth that
-
I am the Christ, I'll build my church.
-
That is the bedrock of this legislative assembly, and the
-
Christ is the King of the Kingdom.
-
So the church was always intended to be built on a
-
government, not a religion. And there are truths within this
-
government that we are to learn from, not just how.
-
Where do we go when we die? That was never the message of
-
Jesus, never the message of Jesus.
-
In John chapter 14 verse 6, we alluded to it here earlier.
-
Jesus said I am the way, the truth, the life and no one comes
-
to the Father but but through me.
-
Well, if I if he says who do, who do you say I am?
-
And Peter says you are the Christ.
-
We could say I am is the Christ. Well if I am is the Christ, it
-
would read this way. The Christ is the way, the
-
Christ is the truth. The Christ is the life and that
-
is the King because Jesus is the truth.
-
Hallelujah, Jesus. So how can you build a church
-
and not preach the Word? How can the Word not take center
-
stage of everything we do in life?
-
If he says this is how you ought to conduct yourself in the
-
household of God, which is the the Church of the living God,
-
the pillar and support of truth. The pillar, support of truth is
-
built on the Christ the King in the beginning was the Word and
-
the Word was with God and then the Word was God.
-
So the church has to be built solely on the Word, which means
-
we are looking to it, not to the commentaries.
-
We are looking to to, to rightly dividing it from Genesis 11 to
-
Revelations 2221. We are to be asking questions.
-
Are there things inside our church, our household, that is a
-
tradition and not a foundation of truth?
-
Because in his church you do not act any way you want to.
-
He defines the behavior because the behavior is a result of the
-
righteousness. And if you are a child of God,
-
then this is how you act. All the epistles that that Paul
-
were writing was the conduct around the believer.
-
Now this is how you want to do now this is a bit you used to
-
live this way, act this way, but now we live this way.
-
Why? Because there's a way to live
-
now that you're in the Kingdom of God and what you could never
-
have done by your spirit because it was dead and separated from
-
God. Christ did when he died on the
-
cross, rose from the grave, poured out his blood on the
-
mercy seat, covered all of your transgression so that when you
-
ask, when you repent and ask for God's forgiveness, he will
-
remove that spirit. Man put a new spirit in you
-
that's created in the likeness of God.
-
And then the counselor, the teacher will come and live in
-
you. Bear witness to your spirit.
-
You're a child of God. And then it's time to go to
-
class because that's now you're a pupil in the Kingdom of God to
-
learn your sonship, your daughtership, on who you are now
-
in Christ, in the King. And the foundation of all you do
-
has to say. What does the word say?
-
How I feel about this doesn't matter.
-
What's the word say? What's the word say?
-
What's the word say? And so for me to train you as a
-
pastor, if I am not caught, if our interactions do not get
-
centered around when there's things saying, well, what's the
-
word say about that, then I'm destroying the foundation by
-
which the church is built. I can't sympathize with you.
-
Meaning, man, that's really bad deal.
-
How do you feel about it? What do you think you should do?
-
But don't you see what happened? But what does the word say?
-
But what does the word say? And that's not for the faint of
-
heart. I get it.
-
But that's who you are in Christ.
-
And so when you establish that the church is the pillar in
-
support of truth, meaning we are going to go into this thing and
-
learn what is God saying about everything, about how to live,
-
how to move. And Paul said in him, we live
-
and move and have our being. You understand church is not
-
something you do, it's who you are.
-
This is not a time in your life, it is your life and until you
-
get that, then you know what church is just a tradition and
-
the foundation you're living on is your truth mixed with his
-
truth, which at the end of the day is not going to get the
-
results that God wants. And, and he'll also be
-
constantly pointing back to you to get to the word Hallelu
-
rightly divided by the Spirit of God.
-
When you allow the word of God to be the pillar and support of
-
all of your life, then what you, what you have done is you've
-
allowed yourself to be in the place where the living God is.
-
Yeah, that's right. Now, why do I say that?
-
Because in the beginning was the and the word was with God in the
-
word. So the living God is in the
-
word. And I'm not talking a word
-
preached by a religious person. I'm talking about The Word Alive
-
on those who act on it. So Matthew 1616 again Peter
-
answer says you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
-
So notice because he recognized he was the Christ, the King, the
-
word, the foundation, that of which Jesus goes on and said,
-
now this is the bedrock of belief that I'm the king.
-
Do you understand? Most of us believe that Jesus is
-
just Savior. Savior is what he did.
-
King is who he is. He is Lord, supreme authority.
-
If Adam had never eaten the fruit, Jesus would never have
-
had to save us. That's right.
-
That's right. We never would have known him as
-
the lamb slain. There would have been no need
-
for blood. But he still would rule.
-
Amen. He would still be ruling.
-
He would still be the Lord, He would still be the Lord of all.
-
Hallelujah, Hallelujah. So when you recognize that the
-
Christ is connected to the living God, look at what it says
-
in John 669. It says also, we have come to
-
believe and to know that you are the Christ again, the Son of the
-
living God. So understanding God's kingship
-
is synonymous, yes, with recognizing the living God.
-
It's synonymous. And we see this because if you
-
if you went over to the book of Acts chapter 19 and this is
Acts 19 chapter mention
-
verse 21 to 20 to 41, we are not going to read them.
-
I'm just going to communicate. And the reason I'm going to use
-
Acts chapter 19 is because Paul in his writing to Timothy is
Acts 19 chapter mention
-
about the church at Ephesus. And Paul has been to assistant
-
had a little challenge once. And you can read about in Acts
-
chapter 19 verses 21 to 41 that there was a particular
-
blacksmith that was highly upset that Paul was in town because
-
every town he ever went to, the idols of those towns started to
-
become destroyed. And the manufacturing industry
-
of those idols went from money to nothing.
-
And so his economics was in play and so he assembled.
-
Acts 19 says, and if you looked up that word assembly in Acts
-
19, it is the same word as Matthew 1618 that we define
-
church is ekklesia. 19 does not communicate it as the church.
-
They communicate it as an assembly, but it's the exact
-
same Greek word. See, we've made church like it's
-
only religion. But church in its original
-
intent, which is ekklesia, is legislative assembly.
-
It is a group of people coming together to discuss legal
-
affairs concerning the country they represent.
-
And so they this guy pulls in an assembly to discuss with all
-
those in town concerning the trade of an idol called Diana
-
one translation Artemis the another.
-
And so they getting a huge uproar about this thing
-
concerning Here's the thing. And if you if you take it for
-
context in Acts 19 when they assemble for two hours, they
-
shouted great is the goddess Diana for two out.
-
I've never come to Anchor Faith Church.
-
I have never in 21 years come to Anchor Faith Church.
-
And praise took off to where we shouted for two hours.
-
Jesus Christ is Lord. That has never happened, but a
-
group of people that are separated from God but had more
-
loyalty to the God of Mammon shouted for two hours straight
-
concerning a God that is dead. The point of this is, is that
-
when truth, because their whole religion is built on a lie and
-
you can assemble and worship your God, but it was a dead God.
-
It was not the living God. Acts chapter 1921 to 41 is a
-
church service. It is another church in Ephesus
-
beside the one Paul planted and they had a worship session for
-
two hours for a God that was dead.
-
But when you have the pillar in support of truth, that is the
-
Christ, you begin to pray. Well, then you'll, you'll move
-
into the, the, the, the church that has the living God, the
-
living God, where he will be present among you, the living
-
God. Now you can take the Diana, but
-
I'm going to tell you right now. Look at this and second Timothy
-
35. The amplifier says it this way.
-
Holding to a form of outward godliness or religion, although
-
they have denied its power for their conduct, nullifies their
-
claim of faith. Avoid such people and keep far
-
away from them. Put that back up there again.
-
Holding to a form of God, outward godliness.
-
So from the outside, oh man, they're right with God just by
-
how they talk. But they're denying the power of
-
the Holy Ghost because their actual conducts nullifies their
-
claims of faith. They are not handling situations
-
as it is written. They're not walking through life
-
as as it is written. They're making an excuse of why
-
they can continue to do what they do, how they do, yet then
-
they'll get a USA. Don't talk about.
-
I know God, God knows my man. They always say that.
-
And you know what I like to say? Yes, he does because he knows
-
what spirit you're of right now. He knows why you're doing what
-
you're doing. He knows what's going on in your
-
heart. He knows what he's talked to you
-
about about repenting. He knows the mercy he's extended
-
towards you because if you don't allow the transfer me forming
-
power of his word through the Spirit to renew your mind, then
-
you're the all you're going to be is religious, which means you
-
can even say Jesus and not be in a church with the living God.
-
You say, how can that be pastor? Well, what did Jesus say on that
-
day? They'll say, Lord, Lord didn't
-
we? And he'll say, depart from me.
-
I never knew you, I never knew you.
-
So how do you know you're functioning in a church where
-
the living God is #1 the word is being preached there.
-
The reigning church is going to have the word rightly divided
-
and it's constantly going to be looking into the Scripture on
-
every aspect of life. From there it is the atmosphere
-
by which the living God will inhabit and then it will produce
-
the household of God. In Hebrews chapter 3 verse six
Hebrews 3 chapter mention
-
that says this, but Christ was faithful as a son over His
-
house, whose house we are. If we hold fast our confidence
-
and the boast of our hope firm until the end.
-
If conditional statement, we hold fast our confidence and the
-
boast of our hope firm until the end.
-
You understand you can be in his house and leave his house.
-
That is the prodigal son. The prodigal son was in the
-
house but left the house. And whose responsibility was it
-
to come back to the house? It was the son's responsibility
-
because the father did not leave the house.
-
All right, So just because you've been in church and then
-
you get out of church doesn't mean you're still in it.
-
OK. Matthew chapter 12 verse 46 to
-
48 or 50 says this. He said while he was still
-
speaking to the crowds, because again we're talking a household.
-
Jesus is the best over his own household over his own house.
-
He says this while he was still speaking to the crowds.
-
Behold his mother and brothers and and were standing outside
-
seeking to speak to him. Now this is his literal mother
-
and his literal half brothers and sisters and with our half,
-
because Mary was the only one who conceived by the Holy Ghost,
-
Jesus, Joseph help with the rest of the family that was in the
-
house. OK, verse 47, someone said to
-
him, behold, your mother and your brothers are standing
-
outside seeking to speak with you.
-
So what's Jesus his response? But Jesus answered the one who
-
was telling him and he said, who is my mother and who are my
-
brothers? Now was Jesus having an amnesia
-
moment right? Do you think he forgot about
-
Mary? Do you think he forgot about
-
James? No, but he's here to make a
-
point because again, one of the the things within the church is
-
that God never intended for the people who came from my personal
-
household to be my only household.
-
That was never God's intent. And it says in stretching out
-
his hand towards his, his what? Come on, we're almost done.
-
His what? Disciples, He said, Behold my
-
mother and my brothers. Now I can say you are my mother,
-
my brothers, my sisters, right? I can say that.
-
But it isn't just 'cause you're with me that makes you my
-
family. Let's keep going, He said.
-
Whoever for whoever does the will of my father.
-
Now that tells me that if you are a disciple, then you must be
-
a doer of the will of the Father.
-
If you are not doing the will of the Father, then you are not a
-
disciple because again, the Bible defines these terms.
-
We don't get to define these terms.
-
Having a class doesn't make you a disciple.
-
Going to a church, taking a class does not make you a
-
disciple. That's not what makes you a
-
disciple. A disciple is someone who will
-
be a doer of His word. Well, if you're going to be a
-
doer of His word and understand all the truths that are
-
associated in His Kingdom, then you're going to have to study
-
the Word. And when He, when you hear it,
-
you've got to let it change your thinking and then you act on it
-
every time. Not sometimes, not 90% of the
-
time, not 40% of the time, 100% of the time.
-
If you fail to act on it, you repent and then you get back on
-
acting on it. So Jesus is defining, if you're
-
a disciple, then you're going to do the will of my Father.
-
Well, is it the will of the Father that we assemble today?
-
OK, that's just one truth. Whoever does the will of my
-
Father who is in heaven, he is my brother and sister and.
-
Mother for whoever, again, whoever, whoever.
-
So he's looking at disciples. He's saying this family's bigger
-
than this. So again, my family is not from
-
my DNA as far as natural blood, but it is from the DNA of God.
-
Hallelujah. And my brothers and sisters who
-
love to do the will of God, it's easy to be around them.
-
I mean, it's so fun to be around them.
-
It is amazing to be around them because even if I do something
-
wrong towards them, then they will forgive me, restore me, and
-
we'll go on and vice versa. Because we never get offended,
-
get hung up, never get into strife and those things that we
-
allow it to stay. Why?
-
Because we're too committed to doing the will of the Father.
-
We're too passionate about doing His purpose and intent.
-
We're too excited about waking up every day and saying, what
-
does God want to do with me today?
-
I can't wait to be around all these other people who just love
-
to please the Father and live by faith that we eat, breathe and
-
drink it. And it's not contained in the
-
building, but it comes from this building because we assemble to
-
do our part of what Dad asks us to do, and we passionately run
-
and do it. Yeah, that is who Jesus is
-
talking about. And you can have this household
-
when you have the living God in your church, because the church
-
is the pillar and supportive truth, not the place where
-
opinions and cultural ideas are explored.
-
One person said it this way. A household is a society marked
-
by diversity in unity. Yeah, that's powerful.
-
A household is a society marked by diversity in unity.
-
And when I look out here and just in this sanctuary, I'm
-
thankful. We're not the same, but our
-
unity makes us unstoppable. What are we unified around doing
-
The will of our father. Nothing personal.
-
I got to do the will of my father.
-
I love him so much. You know what?
-
I'm going to love you through his eyes.
-
And we're going to handle situations according to how Dad
-
says to handle them. Because we love Dad and there's
-
nothing that Dad hasn't can't help us overcome, nor has he not
-
conquered. So it's easy for us.
-
It's really easy for us. Then we're not like, OK Dad,
-
let's do it your way. And I died a self and do his
-
will is easy. And man, those people are the
-
funnest to be around. And I just want you to know
-
they're the only ones you're going to be around in eternity.
-
No one is in the new Jerusalem and the new heaven and new
-
earth. That's like, you know, this is
-
pretty cool. I kind of miss.
-
No, not at all. Not at all.
-
Not at all. Let's close with this passage in
-
Ephesians chapter 2. We're going to do water baptism.
Ephesians 2 chapter mention
-
If you're going to be water baptized, I'm going to encourage
-
you to step out now. Go ahead and change and then
-
come back and get ready and we'll baptize you.
-
Ephesians 218 to 22. It says For through Him we both
-
have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
-
So then we are no longer strangers and aliens, but you
-
are fellow citizens with the Saints and you and are of God's
-
household having been built on the on the foundation of the
-
apostles and prophets, Christ himself being the cornerstone
-
Christ Jesus himself. Christ is the Greek equivalent
-
to the Hebrew word Messiah. What was the what was the church
-
built on? That Jesus Christ is King, He's
-
the King of the Kingdom, and we are a part of his Kingdom.
-
We are citizens, fellow citizens, this one says in his
-
Kingdom, and it makes us part of his household, in whom the whole
-
body being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in
-
the Lord, in whom also are being built together into a dwelling
-
of God in the Spirit. And so we see here that who is
-
in our household is those who do the will of the Father, your
-
family. And there's nothing better than
-
to be around. It's tough to be around someone
-
who wants to rebel. And I'm going to do a little bit
-
of a study on this because Reverend John George, I love
-
being around people who like to talk the word right now, I can
-
talk other stuff. Don't get me wrong.
-
I can talk about football. I can talk about, you know,
-
hockey. I can talk about, you know,
-
other things. But I love to talk about the
-
word. Word.
-
And he said this, and he said, you know, there's a big
-
difference between disobedience and rebellion.
-
I'm like, oh, I need to preach that.
-
That's good. Because I think some people
-
think they're just disobeying when they're in downright
-
rebellion. Those disobedience will lead you
-
to the road of rebellion. But there's nothing.
-
It's tough being around a believer that just doesn't want
-
to do a word. Because it's like, I don't
-
understand why are you not doing the work?
-
I don't understand what's what's the problem?
-
Why are you allowing your flesh to dominate, right?
-
I don't understand you. You've been crucified with, I
-
don't understand, but man, you get around those who have no
-
problem. They're the funnest people to be
-
with. You just love to hang out with
-
them. You want to and you love the
-
fact that they're not like you. They see things differently, but
-
yet you're unified around that. We going to do what God says.
-
We're going to fulfill God's plan.
-
Now how are we going to do that? We say, what's the Bible say?
-
What's the Bible say? I'm going to close with this
-
again. John's been with us, Reverend
-
John, for a little bit. And we talked about many things.
-
And he would say, hey, in this situation, would you do this?
-
And he gives me the word. I said, yeah, I know that's in
-
the Word. I said I talked to the Lord
-
about that. Is that your word for me in this
-
situation? But He gave me this word
-
instead, and according to this word, I'm doing this.
-
Do you understand? Doing the will of the Father is
-
not grabbing His word and deciding which one you want to
-
apply, but it's seeking Him to find out which word He wants you
-
to apply. Because when you apply the word
-
He gives you, then you have the anointing of that word.
-
You have the anointing of that word and situations.
-
There are different applications by which the Father knows which
-
to apply. He knows which to apply.
-
For some, there's still more mercy, so he says stay here.
-
But for others, he's like, you're going to say this, you're
-
going to cut that off, but you have to have an ear to hear
-
that, not you pick based upon how you feel about that
-
situation. And now you're going to throw
-
Scripture out there because God's living presence comes from
-
the foundation that he's the pillar in support of truth.
-
And he's like, the truth is about this situation.
-
This is what I need you to do to get the best result.
-
And sometimes the best result doesn't resolve it, but it's the
-
best result for you. And then God moves on so he can
-
do what He needs to do because you did what you did.
-
Amen.
