  1. This is about the reigning church, and the reigning church

  2. has a group of people because the church is people.

  3. It's the body of Christ. They are people and we are a

  4. society and I like we use these terms because the Bible is about

  5. a king, his Kingdom, and his royal offspring.

  6. We are a Society of people and in the society there is a way to

  7. live a behavior that is good for the society because there are

  8. behaviors that are not good for the society.

  9. And if you want to be a reigning society or be a part of the

  10. reigning church, then there are things outlined within Scripture

  11. that we need to take the heart, renew our minds to and begin to

  12. walk in all right. And the reason we need the mind

  13. renewal is because what we what our mind doesn't understand is

  14. we already have the capacity in the spirit.

  15. We're only releasing something that already exists.

  16. Already exists. OK.

  17. And so last week we decided we would take some time with the

  18. Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Ephesus because again,

  19. his writing to the church is in the same age that we're in

  20. today. Me a lot of times they call it

  21. the church age. Some call it the age of grace.

  22. The most most correct would be we are in the last days age, say

  23. the last days, 'cause the next thing from here becomes a

  24. millennial reign where Jesus Christ comes back to the planet,

  25. Hallelujah. So you know, we're excited about

  26. that particular age to come, but at this point we are in the last

  27. days age and we are living in the last of the last days right

  28. now. All right, So a lot of things

  29. are going to start wrapping up and there are things that we

  30. need to be aware of. All right, So that number one,

  31. we can stay on course in the spirit so that we do not get off

  32. with a different spirit. Praise the Lord.

  33. All right, so in Ephesians chapter 1 and two last week, we

    Ephesians 1 chapter mention

  34. covered some things I'm not going to go back and review.

  35. We are. You can go on our podcast to

  36. hear this, OK? We did not release this on

  37. YouTube. I wore a hat last week and you

  38. can't see my eyes. And we decided that we are

  39. actually not going to do YouTube on Wednesday nights anyway

  40. anymore. We're going to kind of cut that

  41. off for the summer and just do our YouTube on Sunday.

  42. I actually only added Wednesday during the COVID years because,

  43. you know, we wanted to be able to get some more content out

  44. because so many people were not being able to assemble in

  45. different states, although we assembled the whole time.

  46. But you know, we're going to take the Wednesdays off.

  47. You can get it on a podcast, OK? You can still get our messages.

  48. They're all recorded. You just won't visually see

  49. Wednesday night services. And when the when the fall kicks

  50. back up, we'll decide whether we want to kick back into that or

  51. if we just stay the way we are. Because you understand, it's

  52. about me speaking to you. I'm not on YouTube to speak to

  53. the world. I'm here to speak to you.

  54. You are the ones that God has asked or authorized me to

  55. oversee. So it's more important that I

  56. speak to you than anyone else. Are you hearing me?

  57. OK, so Ephesians chapter 4, verse one through 7, we

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  58. obviously record for those that are serving and we thank God for

  59. everyone who serves in the church.

  60. That way they do not miss what's happening in service.

  61. So we're jumping over. We're going to be in three and

  62. four today, although I'm not going to really, I'm going to

  63. talk about 3 and not show it in Scripture.

  64. But I want us to understand that I'm going to primarily stay in

  65. chapter 4 today, that Paul's talking to the church here.

  66. And when he get up to this point, again, he just comes out

  67. of chapter 3 with this reminder that the eyes of their

  68. understanding would be in light, that they would know the, the

  69. breadth and length and height and depth of God's love.

  70. That they would understand this love of God that surpasses all

  71. understanding. Again, right at the closure of

  72. the 3rd chapter, he is reminding them, listen, I'm praying that

  73. you understand, understand who you are now that you are a

  74. believer, OK? And I, we're going to get a

  75. little more specific about some things here in this 4th chapter.

  76. So chapter 4, verse 1 is coming off of this prayer that I'm

  77. praying that you'll understand who you are now.

  78. You need to know who you are now, not who you're going to be

  79. who you are now, because Jesus Christ is your Lord.

  80. So then he comes in here because again, we do chapters in verse,

  81. but you know, it's just a continuation of his letter to

  82. the church. He said, therefore, I the

  83. prisoner of the Lord, exhort you to walk worthy of the calling

  84. with which you have been called, with all humility and

  85. gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in

  86. love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond

  87. of peace. There is one body, say 1 body, 1

  88. Spirit, say 1 Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope

  89. of your calling, 1 Lord, 1 faith, one baptism, one God and

  90. Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

  91. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure

  92. of Christ's gift. So Paul here after he says,

  93. listen once again, he prayed in Ephesians 1 for them that they

  94. would get understanding of who they are now in Christ.

  95. And when we say in Christ, we're saying in the king, who you are

  96. now as a child of the king, OK, because Christ means the

  97. anointing, right? We understand it's a it's a it's

  98. a word for the, the anointed one in his anointing.

  99. Well, the anointed 1 is the king.

  100. That's what you did. You anointed them as kings.

  101. We see this with when when they rejected God is king in first

    1 Samuel 8 chapter mention

  102. Samuel chapter 8. And he told the prophet Samuel,

  103. God did, let's give them what they want.

  104. They want to see a king, they want a man.

  105. So you bring that person in. They've rejected me as their

  106. king, but I'm going to try to help them.

  107. And he anointed him, and all went on his head, which is the

  108. type and shadow of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God.

  109. Well, when Jesus came into the earth and he was baptized by

  110. John in the Jordan River, when he comes up, the Holy Spirit

  111. came upon him. Now he didn't get oil in

  112. symbolism. He received the oil, the person,

  113. the Holy Spirit and and the Holy Spirit came upon him without

  114. measure. And when that anointing hit of

  115. which Jesus testified of this anointing in Luke chapter 4, he

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  116. said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me

  117. right. Then the Father says, this is my

  118. beloved Son. Well, if God the Father is King

  119. in heaven and Jesus is his Son, his only begotten Son, well then

  120. he's King and he's saying to the world, here's my anointed king

  121. of the earth, Hallelujah. And this king went to battle

  122. against the one who had taken dominion from Adam.

  123. Glory to God, and he conquered him.

  124. And he is the reigning king that has the reigning church, which

  125. is the reigning society. So he says here in that vert

  126. chapter 1, you need to understand who you are.

  127. You're not who you, you're not who you see in the mirror

  128. anymore. You're a whole new species of

  129. being. You know, we know 2nd

  130. Corinthians 5 tells us that we are a new creature in Christ.

  131. There is no remodeling in the spirit.

  132. It's a brand new spirit. Now there's some remodeling in

  133. the mind, but there's no remodeling in the spirit.

  134. That spirit, that spirit man that was inside your skin suit

  135. this body prior to your confession of faith that Jesus

  136. Christ as Lord, that He died on the cross, rose from the grave,

  137. paid the price for your wrongdoing against the Kingdom

  138. so that you could be forgiven and redeemed.

  139. OK, that spirit man is evicted, says it passes away, but then

  140. you become a new creature in Christ or in the king.

  141. So you are the child of a king. So the Bible says Jesus is the

  142. king of kings. Who are those kings?

  143. Come on, who are those kings? You are those kings.

  144. And when are you those kings? Right now.

  145. Right now you function as a king in the earth, authorized by God

  146. because you are a child of God and God is king.

  147. All right, so at the 3rd chapter he's like praying again.

  148. I'm praying. You get it because you're in

  149. another Kingdom now. You're a different species of

  150. being now, and so there's a different way to live.

  151. Are you hearing me? So let me hit a couple verses,

  152. then we'll pop back into these first 7 verses of of Ephesians

  153. 4. Remember Colossians 113 says for

  154. he rescued us and has drawn us to himself from the dominion of

  155. darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of his beloved son.

  156. Now, when did that transfer happen?

  157. The day you were born again. So this transfer is not leaving

  158. planet Earth to go to heaven to be in His Kingdom.

  159. You get moved into His Kingdom the minute you're born again and

  160. you do not leave the planet. Hallelujah.

  161. Because again, being born again is not about destination, where

  162. you go when you die. Being born again is about

  163. destiny or sonship and sonship or being a child of God is

  164. something you can receive today. And your Father will not leave

  165. you as an orphan. Glory to God, Amen.

  166. So we see there was a domain of darkness or or Kingdom of

  167. darkness. One translation says a power of

  168. darkness, domain of darkness, a place where there was the

  169. Passion says a tyrannical ruler was over you.

  170. You were in that nation, we could say, but Jesus delivered

  171. you. He set you free through His

  172. blood, and if you call Him Lord, that is your pathway to

  173. citizenship in the Kingdom. Are you hearing me?

  174. You cannot get into His Kingdom any other way.

  175. You can't get smuggled in, you can't get, you cannot be prayed

  176. in by someone else, and you have no participation.

  177. You cannot be paid in by someone else.

  178. It's only the blood of Jesus that paid the price.

  179. You are in through lordship and lordship is not a religious

  180. word. It means supreme in authority.

  181. You're saying Jesus, I make you supreme in authority of my life.

  182. And when you do that, which is at, you know, technically the

  183. cross did this. In essence, when you recognize

  184. his death, burial and resurrection, and you confess

  185. Christ, then that old spirit is knocked out of you, evicted, and

  186. a new spirit is in you. And that spirit is righteous,

  187. holy, sanctified to the Lord. The spirit is.

  188. But you're not just a spirit, I said.

  189. You're not just a spirit. Now, we say this in teaching,

  190. but I want us to understand even though there are three parts of

  191. our being, we need to never think we are not all three parts

  192. because we say in teaching we are spirit, we have a soul and

  193. we live in a body. But you understand you'll always

  194. have a body and you'll always have a soul.

  195. So you're not just spirit. That's good.

  196. Are you hearing me? So when your spirit has changed,

  197. then we now are authorized to deal with our soul realm.

  198. Our mind will intellect. We now have power to control our

  199. thoughts. Wow.

  200. Then even though our body will not be glorified until we pass

  201. or changed in the moment of the twinkling of an eye, OK, to be

  202. in preparation for the new age. Now, when I say new Age, I'm not

  203. talking New Age religion. I'm talking the age of the

  204. millennial reign of Christ. OK, That age, the next one, all

  205. right, we will have a glorified body.

  206. Jesus glorified body was flesh and bone, but it could walk

  207. through walls. I said it could walk through

  208. walls. And when he was transfigured on

  209. the Mount of Transfiguration, I mean, he was so white.

  210. They're like, man, there's no way you could get this much

  211. white by cleaning. I mean, he was shining.

  212. The glory was on him. I said the glory.

  213. All right, so then in essence, these three aspects are going to

  214. hit the spirit realm because God, who is a spirit still has a

  215. body. All right, so we are transferred

  216. into another Kingdom. Well, what does Philippians 320

  217. says for our citizenship is in heaven.

  218. Now that doesn't mean that's what we'll live forever.

  219. That just means our name is registered in another Kingdom.

  220. That is the Lamb's book of life. That is our birthright because

  221. we are born again. Literally, that word means born

  222. from above. Are you hearing me?

  223. So we for our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also are

  224. eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, because in

  225. the end, there's going to be a new heaven, new earth, and it's

  226. all going to look, it's all going to be godly without sin.

  227. Praise God for that. But notice when you're

  228. transferred from one domain or one Kingdom into another

  229. Kingdom, you are transferring citizenship.

  230. And citizenship in a society has to do with behavior of a nation,

  231. a way you live. So in essence, when we read

  232. Paul's letters to the church, what Paul is doing is he is

  233. saying you are now a citizen of a different Kingdom.

  234. And this is how those citizens function.

  235. You understand, now in our nation, you can hold our in our

  236. world, in the world, you can hold what they call dual

  237. citizenship. Do you understand?

  238. You hold that Some may hold, you know, 3 because you may have two

  239. natural citizenships yourself. But if you're born from above,

  240. then you have a 1/3. That is a superior citizenship,

  241. you know, because the nations of this world are going to

  242. disappear. Which means my citizenship with

  243. the United States of America will be nothing because the

  244. nation will cease to exist. But my citizenship with God and

  245. His Kingdom will never. My citizenship in the Kingdom of

  246. God is an eternal citizenship. Hallelujah.

  247. So Paul's writing to the to his to the churches, specifically

  248. here in Ephesians. Is he saying now listen, you're

  249. a new citizen. Typically, if dual citizenship

  250. is not offered, then if you let go of 1 nation's citizenship,

  251. the the the reality is you are to denounce that citizenship and

  252. become only the citizen of the new nation you are in.

  253. So you are in essence making a pledge with all your heart to

  254. defend this new nation by which you are citizen and you're going

  255. to abide by its laws, its customs, it's procedures, it's

  256. way of living, it's way of driving, right?

  257. You don't come over from India and decide to be a citizen in

  258. the United States, but choose to drive like you're back in India.

  259. You will get stopped. What is this guy doing on the

  260. wrong side of the road? Right now you can have a vehicle

  261. with the steering wheel on the side that they have in India,

  262. but you're not allowed to drive that way here.

  263. I mean, that's going to be a problem and you cannot.

  264. Every time the police officer stops you for being in the left

  265. lane on a two way highway going the wrong way that you know.

  266. But this is how I always drove. But you're not there.

  267. Now we're going to see here in a moment that this is the problem

  268. is that you're holding on to an old identification.

  269. Oh, OK. There was a time in our nation

  270. that when immigrants came over, they did not want to hold on to

  271. their old nation's nationality. They only wanted to be known as

  272. Americans. But somewhere along the line, we

  273. started to pick up the nation we immigrated from.

  274. Now you say, well, what's the problem with that?

  275. Well, in the Kingdom, this is a problem.

  276. In the Kingdom, this is a problem.

  277. So in the beginning of this chapter he is saying in verse

  278. one again, he's exhorting them after he's prayed that they

  279. would get understanding of who they are and and learn to walk

  280. in this love that's been shed abroad in their heart and be and

  281. unify and and become one and and grow as citizens in the Kingdom.

  282. He says he exhorts one translation says he admonishes,

  283. he inspires them to walk. Now the word walk here means to

  284. regulate one's life, to conduct oneself.

  285. So he is saying, now listen, I'm praying and I'm asking that you

  286. walk, you regulate your life worthy of the calling, not

  287. worthy of your opinion, not worthy of your past life, not

  288. worry, worthy based upon what you choose to be worthy or how

  289. you feel, but worthy of the calling.

  290. This word calling means this the divine invitation of the

  291. salvation of God. So he's saying you're supposed

  292. to regulate your life as a citizen in this new Kingdom that

  293. is worthy or in a manner that is in keeping with the invitation

  294. of the salvation that came to you by God to get you into this

  295. new Kingdom that He transferred you to.

  296. So the expectation of new birth is not just to have

  297. understanding of where you're going to go when you die.

  298. The expectation of new birth is to denounce a way that you

  299. regulated your life and walk in a new regulated life now on the

  300. earth. Are you hearing me?

  301. And we are to do this with all humility.

  302. Now, humility by literal definition means if you're going

  303. to be humble, humble is not this.

  304. I'm just a humble person. I mean, we act like it's an

  305. expression. True humility is to yield to

  306. God's way of doing and you understand you can be fully

  307. humble yet expressing great confidence.

  308. You can be the most humble person yet demonstrating great

  309. confidence because the Bible tells us that we are to be

  310. firmly persuaded in his word. It says this is the confidence

  311. that we have that if we go before the throne of grace and

  312. if we have a word from the king, then we do not back off from

  313. that. When you've done all the stand,

  314. you what stand meaning. This is what the word says, and

  315. I'm confident it will be this way.

  316. Abraham was firmly persuaded that it will be exactly as God

  317. says, Paul, in the 27th chapter of ACT said.

  318. I am convinced that what has been spoken to me tonight by an

  319. Angel, a messenger from God, that it will turn out exactly.

  320. Now that's confidence. And if someone says no, it's

  321. going to be this way. In fact, when Paul told the

  322. Centurion, unless these soldiers who were trying to get down in a

  323. little boat and leave the ship, he said unless these men stay

  324. with the ship, I cannot guarantee their lives.

  325. They're like, wow, aren't you a little cocky guy?

  326. Aren't you full of arrogance? No, he wasn't in no arrogance of

  327. his own. He was confidently stating that

  328. the Lord said that this ship is going to run aground on a

  329. certain island, but that God had granted Paul the lives of all

  330. the people. So if you leave the ship, I

  331. cannot say that God's going to keep you protected.

  332. I do know what he said if you stay with the ship.

  333. So he humbled himself to hear God at His word and never came

  334. off what he believed. So again, we've been religiously

  335. taught some aspect of humility when the reality of true

  336. humility is that whatever the Lord says, I do.

  337. Now that presentation can be, you know, not outspoken.

  338. You know what? Yes, Lord, I'm going to do that.

  339. I'll do that. Lord, It can come out that way.

  340. But man, when you're fighting a good fight of faith, that looks

  341. a little different, but you're still humble.

  342. Are you hearing me? Did Jesus lose his humility when

  343. he looked at Peter and he said, get thee behind me, Satan?

  344. No, what was he doing? He was humble by saying, I

  345. cannot let a word come to me. That's contrary to what my

  346. father has said about me. All right, So he's saying with

  347. all humility, with gentleness, with patience.

  348. Now, patience is really important here in the second

  349. verse because. And then it says burying one

  350. another with love. Why?

  351. Because we are babes in Christ. When you become born again,

  352. you're a babe in Christ and you have to grow up spiritually.

  353. Now, that doesn't mean your spirit man is technically

  354. growing up. It's got everything in it.

  355. You're growing in your mind to release what it is that's on the

  356. inside already, and you're having to change your thinking

  357. so that what's naturally, when I say naturally, I'm talking

  358. naturally supernatural. You understand I'm not

  359. performing. I'm just releasing who I am.

  360. I don't have to work to be holy. I am holy.

  361. You all know any. I'm just releasing what I am,

  362. right? Well, man, you sure are, you

  363. know, trying to look. I'm not trying to look.

  364. Nothing. I'm just this because that's who

  365. Christ made me. So it will be odd for me not to

  366. produce fruit. I'm not working to produce joy.

  367. I'm not working. I'm just releasing what's in me.

  368. Well, they just think they're better.

  369. I'm not better. I'm just me.

  370. And this is who Christ said I am.

  371. So This is why I can, I actually have to work to not Amen.

  372. I have to work to stay upset because the Holy Ghost is like,

  373. don't be upset about this. Yeah, but you know, now I'm

  374. working. I'm trying to get back over into

  375. a behavior that supernatural naturally is saying, oh, we're

  376. different. Hey man.

  377. And but what do we what? What?

  378. What have we accepted religiously?

  379. Oh, you just think you're perfect?

  380. Nope, Christ is perfect. I'm in him and I'm just

  381. releasing who he said I am by faith.

  382. Hallelujah. He says it's in there.

  383. I'll let it go. So we have to then be patient

  384. because guess what, you're working to release, meaning

  385. you're yielding, you're growing, you're developing, you're

  386. listening to the word. So we're patient with one

  387. another. We're to be diligent.

  388. Look what kind of society we are.

  389. We are to be diligent to keep the unity of the spirit in the

  390. bond of peace. That's that's something we have

  391. to keep. If there seems to be, there's no

  392. unity, then we should be. What do we need to do to unify?

  393. That's our culture. That's what we do as citizens.

  394. We're not here to divide. In fact, the Lord does not like

  395. division at all. He does not like it.

  396. In fact, he talks about 7 things he hates and then he gets over

  397. and said that one thing's like an abomination and it's a

  398. brother who comes to sow discord among the brethren.

  399. Because again, that's not in my culture.

  400. That's not in my society that reigns.

  401. A society that reigns. Our reigning church is always

  402. working to maintain the bond of peace and a spirit of unity.

  403. Hallelujah. That's what a reigning church

  404. will do Hallelujah. And it's easy to unify when you

  405. throw down your opinion and say, let's respond the word way

  406. because it's easy. Any situation we ever come

  407. across, guess what we can do? We can assess what just happened

  408. to how he wants us to respond. All right, we're going to see

  409. this here in a minute because again, we are one body with one

  410. spirit and we all have been given a gift by Christ, which

  411. means we all have a grace to walk this out.

  412. Amen. So jump down to verse 17 because

  413. I'm going to skip the middle. We've had a we've had a, a

  414. detailed teaching concerning the next few verses.

  415. I'm I'm skipping here concerning being equipped.

  416. In fact, you can purchase that book at guest relations where

  417. you'll learn that the fivefold ministry is to equip the Saints

  418. for the work of ministry. And, and again, Paul is saying

  419. to the church now listen, you're not arriving at this without

  420. training. So again, church is not

  421. primarily fellowship. In essence, what he's doing when

  422. he calls you to become a citizen, his number one priority

  423. is to recruit you for training because he's like, I've, I have

  424. to get an old citizen's mindset out.

  425. Now I'm going to give you a quick little nugget.

  426. You can be delivered and not be free.

  427. Are you ready? And you already know this.

  428. Israel was a nation in slavery in a nation called Egypt.

  429. God sent a man named Moses, and with God's power through Moses

  430. delivered that nation and it took all of the wealth of Egypt

  431. through the Red Sea on dry ground to the other side.

  432. And then the nation turned and watched their the nation that

  433. they were slaves to, who treated them wrong.

  434. Not only did they were brutal to them personally, but in one

  435. session killed many of their children, slaughtered them.

  436. Their males sons fill the Nile with them and they watch the

  437. king of that nation and his army die.

  438. They're on the other side delivered, but their mentality

  439. is still in Egypt and they cannot see themselves as victors

  440. in a promised land less than a month later, but only see

  441. themselves as still slaves. They just call themselves

  442. grasshoppers. So here is a delivered nation

  443. full of wealth given a land by God that they will not possess.

  444. For what purpose? They wanted their old mind

  445. citizenship. They wanted to be known as an

  446. Egyptian Israel nation. I'm Egyptian, Iraqley, Israeli.

  447. I got quiet. But that's OK because the

  448. reality is as long as you vacillate between nations now in

  449. the natural, I'm not so concerned about other than these

  450. are points that the enemy can come in and bring division.

  451. Because again, if he can get you to classify yourself something

  452. external, whether that's national, you're not from the

  453. same nation or color, or education or economics, then

  454. that's called segregating the nation.

  455. So that division can come. Hallelujah.

  456. But the Lord don't want any part of that.

  457. Amen. He wants us to be in Christ.

  458. That's it. I'm just in Christ, I'm in the

  459. Kingdom. So in Ephesians 417 it says

  460. this, it says therefore this. I say and testify of the Lord

  461. that you walk here it is again, regulate one's life no longer

  462. just as the Gentiles also walked.

  463. In essence, you came out of a nation, you're in a new nation.

  464. You don't won't like the old one, you won't like the new one.

  465. You do not regulate your life like the old life.

  466. You regulate your life in a new life.

  467. I should get a better Amen than that because if you are not

  468. allowing the new life to be what regulates you, This is why

  469. you're frustrated. And the reason why believers OK

  470. struggle is because they become a true freak of nature.

  471. And what do I mean by freak of nature?

  472. Their spirit man is alive to God, but their soul and body

  473. keeps living for the world. God never intended that day ever

  474. happened. And grace does not empower that.

  475. All right, so he's saying don't walk that way anymore.

  476. You're going to walk a new way. Because the the old way is in

  477. the futility of their mind being darkened in their mind,

  478. alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is

  479. in them, because of the hardness of their heart.

  480. Who wants to be born again and have a hard heart?

  481. Why would you want to be born again and then resist God the

  482. rest of your life just so you can live in an old world?

  483. God never intended this ever. So then verse 19 goes on and

  484. says and they meaning the ones from the old nation are having

  485. become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality

  486. for the practice of every kind of impurity and greet with

  487. greediness. He said, but you did not learn

  488. Christ in this way. And what that literally means,

  489. it means that the salvation in Christ allows you to live the

  490. same existence as before. You didn't learn Christ this

  491. way. That means you didn't learn

  492. Christ in a way that you know you're saved, but you can live

  493. the old way and it be OK. That's not what we taught you.

  494. This is why to the Galatian church he says to them, he's

  495. like, who so easily bewitched you?

  496. You, you're, you, you receive Christ in a spirit, and now

  497. you're going to go back to a old way of living that could no more

  498. get you right with God than the man on the moon, One translator

  499. said. Who put a veil over you when a

  500. billboard was cast in front of you?

  501. So clear of what Christ has done.

  502. Amen. So then we go on.

  503. It says verse 22 he or verse 21, if indeed you heard him, you

  504. were taught in him, just as truth is in Jesus.

  505. Jesus is the way, the truth and the now look at verse 22 here.

  506. This is awesome. Verse 22 says this says to lay

  507. aside. Say lay aside.

  508. Come on, say lay aside to lay aside in reference to your

  509. former conduct. The old man, say the old man,

  510. right. And This is why I loved about

  511. David Mackey. You know, you get around him.

  512. He'll if if there's any conversation about something

  513. that isn't how he lives today, he'll say now the old man

  514. because he doesn't identify with him anymore.

  515. In essence, there was a former time I was in a different nation

  516. and and regulated my life, but I'm in a new one.

  517. Come on, say I'm in a new one. Because this is what a reigning

  518. church looks like. Because it's society is reigning

  519. in the Word. It is releasing who they are in

  520. Christ. Amen.

  521. This is in you to do. This is not you working to do.

  522. It's releasing what God made you.

  523. The only work you have is to believe you are already this.

  524. That's the work of faith for you.

  525. Is that I am the things he said I am.

  526. I am the nature he says I am. And so I refuse.

  527. The old man. I what?

  528. Lay it aside. I wish I'd have brought my

  529. jacket in here. It lay aside like a garment.

  530. You take it off and you lay it aside.

  531. You're no longer clothed in it. You're no longer wearing it.

  532. Because your old clothes were what?

  533. Filthy rags? And do not think that when you

  534. pick up that old way of living, that people who are living, who

  535. are living the new way, cannot smell you coming.

  536. You can smile all you want to. It reminds me of a time when I

  537. was young, my dad was a painter, and so, you know, he painted

  538. primarily houses, but every once in a while he'd pick up some

  539. other projects, apartments or whatever.

  540. There was a particular hotel in Gainesville that he had picked

  541. up the paint. And so we were just finishing

  542. out some minor trim work, OK 'cause the cleaning crew was

  543. coming in and, you know, scraping the glass, cleaning it

  544. and getting it ready. So we were closed.

  545. Well, he had sent me into some of the rooms to clean.

  546. Well, a particular cleaning person came in and man, they had

  547. some really tough body odor. I mean, it was tough.

  548. I mean, kind of like. But what made it worse is they

  549. put perfume on or a fragrance to try to cover it.

  550. Yeah, right. See, when you live the old life,

  551. you can smile, you can be nice, but you still stink.

  552. All right. Hey, man.

  553. OK, so verse 22, to lay aside in reference to your former

  554. conduct, the old man which is being corrupted in accordance

  555. with the lusts of deceit. So the old man or the former

  556. life is corrupted. Why would you ever want to go

  557. back? Why would you ever want to be

  558. like an Israelite that wants to go back to slavery just so they

  559. can make sure they have enough food to eat?

  560. Because there's taskmasters are going to keep them just well

  561. enough to keep being their slaves.

  562. And they wanted that life back even though they came out of the

  563. promised land with grapes that were the size of grapefruit.

  564. Wow delivered but did not change their citizenship mind.

  565. All right, so verse 23 though it says but be renewed in the

  566. spirit of your what? So again, your spirit doesn't

  567. have problem. It's your mind that needs to be

  568. renewed. You have to declare I'm a child

  569. of the king, which means I'm in a different Kingdom.

  570. I'm a different citizen, I'm a different species of being, and

  571. I am who I am not because of what I've done, but because of

  572. what he did. Again, Paul said I am what I am

  573. because by the grace of God you are what you are.

  574. By the grace of God, through God's grace, by faith, you are

  575. born of God, born again. You are a child of God.

  576. You have been made holy, righteous, blameless in your

  577. spirit that when you renew your mind, you release that person.

  578. It is who you are. This is who you are.

  579. Right. I mean, that's if you get a

  580. sports car, right? With the turbo, it's got 600

  581. horsepower and you drive up with this thing.

  582. Well, if you take off, it's only doing what's on the inside

  583. 'cause it was created to have that kind of power.

  584. I mean, you get next to a Prius and you're like, did I tell you

  585. what happened the other day? I was driving in my car and two

  586. young guys, they, they could have been out of high school or

  587. they could have been in high school, not sure, but they had a

  588. one of the new Ford Broncos, right?

  589. Look good guys. This is so funny.

  590. These two young guys got up there and we were out of light

  591. and all of a sudden jumped and just took off like and you know,

  592. they didn't go very far. Could we hit the next light?

  593. And as I was driving up next to them, I was laughing.

  594. I'm like, really, really. I mean, you want to race with

  595. that now? I'm not going to race them

  596. because I have self-control. But I laughed and the guy looked

  597. at me and he goes, he's laughing at us.

  598. I mean, I was like, are you even being serious right now?

  599. You have nothing under the hood. You're a counterfeit right now,

  600. right? I mean, I don't have to do

  601. anything. I mean, all I have to do is turn

  602. a knob and we're in a whole nother another level.

  603. We're I mean, I have a couple, you know, that allows me to have

  604. the the another anointing. We we call it a fresh touch.

  605. You know, another dose of power and it takes you to another

  606. level. Hallelujah.

  607. All right, so we go on verse 24. Here we go.

  608. Let's close this up verse 24 in that series of verses, verse 24,

  609. it said be renewed the spirit of my and to put on the new man.

  610. Now this is really interesting because you're already in the

  611. spirit away, but in your mind you have to put it on.

  612. So you understand, every day you have to put on in your mind what

  613. you are already on the inside. It will not come by itself.

  614. You have to put it on. You have to put on the reigning

  615. society or reigning church mentality.

  616. Every day I'm putting it on. I'm a new man and you put it on.

  617. And when you get in situations in life, you're like, oh, OK,

  618. I'm gonna put on right. I like today.

  619. I was coming in today and somebody from Georgia was on A1A

  620. and passed commanders and they decided they wanted to eat

  621. there. Apparently didn't know that,

  622. didn't have their GPF pulled up to tell them they were there.

  623. They passed by, they turned their blinker to go right and

  624. only went 11 tire over the white lane.

  625. Slams on brakes, car passing, and then does a left hand turn

  626. into the other to go back to the restaurant while I lay down on

  627. the brakes, while my wife was working on her eyes, right.

  628. And then I put on, as I washed them.

  629. I did. I put on, you know, 'cause you

  630. know, the old man might have said you're #1 all kinds of

  631. stuff could happen, you know, could have spoken another tongue

  632. that the world knows about, right?

  633. The old man could have done that, but the new man just put

  634. on I, I watched them not because I like, I can't, I was like, I

  635. need to see them successfully pull away from my vehicle.

  636. And then you go on. Why you put it on.

  637. So you put on the new man, which is in the likeness of come on.

  638. So the the new man is what in the likeness of God?

  639. And who is saying this? God is saying this, so you put

  640. on the new man who's in the likeness of God, has been

  641. created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

  642. This is who you are. Therefore, laying aside again,

  643. falsehood, speak truth, each one of you with his neighbor, for we

  644. are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin.

  645. Do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the

  646. devil an opportunity. He who stills must still no

  647. longer, but rather he must labor, performing with his own

  648. hands what is good, so that he will have something to share

  649. with one who has need. Let no unwholesome word proceed

  650. from your mouth. There is a language in the

  651. Kingdom, not just other tongues, but a way to speak.

  652. Words are not words. Some words are vulgar.

  653. And when ministers do it for shock and awe, that is old man.

  654. I understand. They're like, well, you know,

  655. we're not trying to be really well.

  656. I don't have to go to the flesh to prove that I'm not religious.

  657. So don't let any unwholesome coming out of your mouth, which

  658. is more than just cussing. It has to do with how you

  659. talking about people, how you address situations, but only

  660. such a word as good for building up what is needed so that it

  661. will give grace to those who hear you understand.

  662. Even if you know one of your brothers or someone that a

  663. coworker that's lost with God, you know they're out.

  664. You can still speak favorably well, you know about.

  665. So you know what let's pray for them right now.

  666. Now you're not, not an understanding that there's

  667. complications, problems, issues, whatever, but you're not

  668. speaking into it 'cause your new culture is to try to bring good

  669. and edification. Would you hear what happened to

  670. so and so you know what, let's pray him for him right now.

  671. Not what do you know? You know, I was thinking that

  672. myself. I mean, this is what the Bible

  673. says. It's very easy to see at the end

  674. of the day, very easy to see how you are to respond in this

  675. citizenship called the Kingdom of God and you have this in you

  676. to do so. It's your flesh that wants to go

  677. back into these areas. That's why I said you got to lay

  678. that aside. That's why I said in

  679. Corinthians, Paul and that to that church said you got to take

  680. captive every thought. Now you line up against the word

  681. and you got to put that down, man.

  682. You know, I entertain flesh there and allow myself to talk

  683. too much or listen too much or whatever.

  684. You know what, Lord, forgive me. And then you go back and do it

  685. the right way because I'm not from that Kingdom anymore.

  686. I am no longer. And here's the problem.

  687. We have done it in the nation, African American, Irish

  688. American, you know, Indian American, Asian American, We do

  689. this all the time. You know, we're doing it in the

  690. church. We say, well, I'm just a Sinner

  691. saved by grace. You're identifying as a Sinner

  692. saved by grace. I am not a Sinner.

  693. I was a Sinner. I've been saved by grace through

  694. faith. I am a believer.

  695. I have been made righteous. I could sin, but I don't sin

  696. habitually. And you know the religious hates

  697. this statement but it's a true statement.

  698. If you're really are a follower of God, you know you could live

  699. multiple days, even months without actually sinning.

  700. Cause sin is just simply just obeying God and when he made you

  701. righteous, you actually can live a life where you obey him at his

  702. word. If you do sin, guess what you

  703. can repent, you'll be forgiven, but that doesn't make you a

  704. Sinner. No Sinner is going to heaven,

  705. only children of God. But if you maintain again sin

  706. consciousness or that old life, I just you know we're just all

  707. sinners man. We all blow, we all make mistake

  708. who you're identifying with an old life.

  709. That's the problem. You're calling yourself a Sinner

  710. grace or a Sinner believer You're you're you're identifying

  711. in two nations. Come on, we can't do it.

  712. Verse 30 and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you

  713. were sealed for the day of redemption.

  714. Hear it again. Our culture, our society that

  715. reigns. Let all bitterness, anger,

  716. wrath, shouting, slander be put away from you, along with all

  717. malice, which means bitterness, anger, wrath, shouting, slander

  718. can show up. You have to put it away.

  719. And guess who will put it away? Not God.

  720. You guess who has to put on not God, you, because God already

  721. placed in you that spirit made righteous that wants to hear God

  722. can't hear God, can't hear the Holy Spirit who bears witness

  723. with that, with your spirit that you're a child of God and will

  724. train you and speak to you and all that.

  725. You have the power. God's not controlling it.

  726. You are in control of what you put on every day, but when you

  727. identify as a citizens, I'm going to put on the Kingdom

  728. because that's who I am. I'm a citizen of the Kingdom.

  729. Hallelujah. I said Hallelujah.

  730. So then verse 32 instead, instead say instead, this means

  731. the malice, all those things you can put off.

  732. But instead, what are we to be? What is our culture?

  733. What is our society? What is the church?

  734. We are instead, we're kind to one another, tender hearted,

  735. graciously forgiving each other. Wow, that's easy.

  736. It's not hard to forgive somebody.

  737. It's so easy, so easy. They just they just what are you

  738. doing? Forgive them so easy.

  739. Well, you know, you just don't. You don't know who you are.

  740. You have picked up the old man you've put on.

  741. You should lay aside that, Lay aside that thought.

  742. Yeah, but they did it. Lay aside the thought.

  743. Put on the new man. Just as God in Christ has

  744. graciously forgiven you. Romans 1314 says it this way.

  745. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, but put on, come on, the

  746. Lord Jesus Christ. But what put on the Lord Jesus

  747. Christ? Who's putting it on?

  748. Who's putting it on? Who has the power?

  749. You have the power, but put on the Lord Jesus Christ When you

  750. do that and make no provision for the flesh in regards to its

  751. lust. Man, it's just so tough out

  752. there, man, it's so tough. You know, I'm being so tempted.

  753. You're making provision. I said you're making provision.

  754. Now I'm going to be honest with you, some you may have to get

  755. radical. Radical.

  756. There's a scripture that Jesus says he said if your right eye

  757. offends you, pluck it out. I'm not advocating you to pull

  758. your eyeball out. But what I am saying because

  759. he's being radical though he's saying now listen, seriously, if

  760. that right eye you cannot dominate and have rule over,

  761. it'd be better for you to remove it from your body so that it

  762. will never ever 'cause you a problem again.

  763. That way you'll be with me forever.

  764. OK, again, if, if, if access through your telephone, you need

  765. to get rid of it. So how can I live without

  766. listen, people live without phones.

  767. It can happen or you can find a flip phone.

  768. Go ahead and get one of those cricket phones with the big

  769. they're like and it's just for an old person.

  770. If you're not in control, it's a for you, a person.

  771. This is for you person. So you don't have access to the

  772. end. What all you're doing is you are

  773. putting yourself in a position so that you can grow, so that

  774. you can release. I'm not saying you can't never

  775. go back to the dumb phone which we call smart.

  776. You know, I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is, until you

  777. can dominate from your spirit through putting on the new man

  778. in your mind, it's time to cut some stuff off.

  779. Cut off cable, cut off Netflix, cut off going to the movie.

  780. How am I going to be entertained?

  781. Read a book, Use your imagination.

  782. Read the word. I mean, there's all kinds of

  783. things. Pick up pickleball.

  784. I hear it's popular. Hallelujah, Amen glory to God.

  785. Let me do a speed round of this Colossians just another church

  786. to show you about put on. I'm just going to read through.

  787. Obviously you should be able to get this and we'll close

  788. starting in chapter 3 verses 5 through 10.

  789. He says, therefore consider the members of your earthly body as

  790. dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire

  791. and greed, which is idolatry. Now this is what you can do

  792. because you're in Christ. On account of these things, the

  793. wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

  794. So you cannot be doing this and claim sonship all right.
