  1. Luke chapter 3 verse 21 to 22. It says this Now when all the

    Luke 3:21–22

  2. people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized.

  3. And while he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit

  4. descended upon him in bodily formed like a dove, and a voice

  5. came out of heaven saying, you are my beloved son, in whom I'm

  6. well pleased. Now I heard a minister say this,

  7. and so I'm going to say it here. Let me borrow your glasses,

  8. Eric, because what I'm about to do is one of those situations

  9. where we're just trying to make things more clear.

  10. The reason why we have glasses is because, you know, there may

  11. be a line of sight and then you put these on.

  12. It's not that you cannot see, it's just that you want to be

  13. able to see clearer. That's the whole point behind

  14. it, right? So you understand when we begin

  15. to thank you, when we begin to say certain things that have

  16. been said through the years or things that we pick up, you

  17. know, just in life, and we have real good intentions of why we

  18. say them. No one is saying that.

  19. You're not saying it from the right intention.

  20. However, sometimes we can be saying something with the right

  21. intention, but it's actually has a, it's actually not as correct

  22. as it can be. So, you know, if you look at

  23. this particular passage of Scripture and it's a little side

  24. note because I feel like the Lord wants me to go here.

  25. He said, this is my beloved son and you.

  26. I am well pleased. Now, that is the highest

  27. compliment that the Father can give to his children.

  28. That's the highest compliment he can give to his children.

  29. We tend to make this statement when our children, you know, or,

  30. or, or someone we're around is doing something good.

  31. We're like, man, we sure are proud of you, right?

  32. We make that statement. However, when it comes to the

  33. word, pride is not a positive thing.

  34. OK, now I understand that you're not saying that your children

  35. aren't. You're literally conveying how

  36. much you are excited about what they are doing.

  37. I am proud of you, OK? Unfortunately, what it can do,

  38. and we don't even recognize it, what it can do is it can cause

  39. our children or who you say to develop a bit of

  40. self-sufficiency because the whole point behind pride is that

  41. I am good. I can do it.

  42. I can do it independent of. So when Jesus God, when Jesus,

  43. when the Father says is this is my beloved son in whom I'm well

  44. pleased, what he's pointing him to is I'm pleased with your

  45. obedience to my word. So the highest company in the

  46. natural we could actually give our children when they do well

  47. is like, I'm well pleased. And that's really what you are.

  48. You're pleased that they are obeying what you've asked them

  49. to do. Because when pleasing shows up,

  50. then what happens is is you're acknowledging that they were

  51. obedient to what you asked. I mean, I'm just trying to be a

  52. little more clear because we don't want to give the devil an

  53. occasion where whether it's employee, you know, employer

  54. employees you have or, or relationships you have, you

  55. know, you know, whatever the case may be, or with your own

  56. children that they think they're good and of themselves.

  57. Because that road itself, that can give the enemy an occasion.

  58. Now, not everybody goes down that road.

  59. You say, well, my parents told me I was, they were proud of me

  60. my whole life. I understand that me, my parents

  61. let me do all kinds of stuff that, you know, in light of the

  62. word. I'm like, man, I what what were

  63. we doing in light of the word? Some things I'm like, this can

  64. open doors. I it didn't open the door or if

  65. it did, I just chose not to walk through it because of some other

  66. stuff. But at the end of the day, why

  67. would I even do this? OK, so I want to encourage you

  68. as a parent that when your children are obeying and doing

  69. say man, I sure am pleased with you because I it because that's

  70. what our heavenly Father did. I think it had helped take your

  71. family relationship to a whole nother level because now you're

  72. acknowledging to your child the reason I'm pleased because

  73. what's it say in Hebrews Chapter 11 verse 6 without faith?

    Hebrews 11:6

  74. It's impossible to please God. Now faith comes by hearing and

  75. hearing from the word of God. So obeying his word, being a

  76. doer of his word is why you're walking in faith.

  77. And when you're walking in faith, So Jesus is being

  78. baptized because he acknowledged to John, John's like, I'm not

  79. even worthy to untie your sandals.

  80. You should be baptizing me. He said, permitted unto this,

  81. permitted at this time so that all righteousness can be

  82. fulfilled. In essence, my father has

  83. written that this would occur and I'm going to obey him.

  84. And when he did that, obviously he's baptized by John.

  85. The windows opened up. The Holy Spirit comes upon Jesus

  86. without measure and said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am

  87. well, well pleased. OK, then we jump over into Luke

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  88. chapter 4 verse one. It says Jesus full of the Holy

  89. Spirit, say full of the Holy Spirit.

  90. Full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan and was led

  91. around by the Spirit into the wilderness.

  92. Jesus was what? Full of the Holy Spirit.

  93. Jump down to verse 14 of the same chapter, Luke 14414 it

  94. says, and Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the

  95. Spirit, in the what power of the So he was full of the Spirit.

  96. Now he's returning in the power of the Spirit and the news about

  97. Him spread through all the surrounding districts.

  98. OK, then if you jump down a couple more verses real quick,

  99. it says in in verse 18 and 19, Jesus now in the temple pulls

  100. out the scrolls and he says the Spirit of the Lord is upon me

  101. because why is the Spirit of the Lord upon him?

  102. Because he anointed me. He anointed me to preach the

  103. gospel to the poor to send. He has sent me to proclaim

  104. release to the captors, recovery of sight to the blind, to set

  105. free those who are pressed to proclaim the favorable year of

  106. the Lord. OK, now he stops there because

  107. if you go to Isaiah, there's another one and the, the, the

  108. day of the vengeance of the Lord, which is a a day of wrath

  109. that's coming. But when Jesus came, that was

  110. not that time, right? So here Jesus between Luke

    Luke 3 chapter mention

  111. chapter 3 to Luke chapter 4, we see the account of when the Holy

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  112. Spirit came upon Jesus. And this is really important

  113. because again, we need to fully understand why we have the Holy

  114. Spirit. We have learned here at Anchor

  115. Faith Church that there is a lot of truth concerning Scripture,

  116. but that falls between Genesis chapter 3 and Revelations

Genesis 3 chapter mention Revelation 20 chapter mention

  117. chapter 20. And that is considered the fall

  118. of man. OK.

  119. And when you're in between those two, then things that you see,

  120. things that you read, although they're true, they still are a

  121. little hidden because they do not have original intent and

  122. conclusion, meaning. Revelations 21 and 22.

  123. What happens after it's all over with?

  124. When sins dealt with and everybody's stolen to the lake

  125. of fire, that's disobeyed. And then here we are, new heaven

  126. and new new earth. Because in between 3:00 and

  127. Revelations 20, it's about man who's not right with God, who

  128. needs someone to save them, which is Jesus, that when they

  129. died they would go to heaven because that's where Jesus is

  130. currently at. So the whole gospel between

  131. Genesis 3 and Revelation 22 is about being born again,

  132. receiving the power of God, so that when we separate from this

  133. life, we will be with him who's currently residing in heaven.

  134. And many of us, we're taught, will be in heaven forever.

  135. But when you read the back of the book, there's a new heaven

  136. and new earth, and the new Jerusalem's coming down out of

  137. heaven to the earth. And this becomes problematic for

  138. doctrine when we think we're going to be up there somewhere

  139. when there's a earth here that's going to be redeemed.

  140. Amen. And, you know, we have to ask

  141. the question if we are being redeemed or bought with a price

  142. and we're born again, a born, a new born from above, literally

  143. what are we born to? If we have come out of one place

  144. and gone into a place, then what does that afford us now?

  145. Jesus understands this process because if you read Jesus and

  146. the anointing coming upon him, nowhere do we see Jesus

  147. highlighting the anointing with how it made him feel, nor did he

  148. talk about how many times it put him on the ground.

  149. I'm OK, we're just discussing. Will the anointing put you on

  150. the ground? Yes.

  151. Jesus was so anointed coming out of the garden when He spoke.

  152. Knock people down. No problem with these things.

  153. But again, sometimes what we do, if we do not know why we have

  154. the anointing or why the Holy Spirit's coming upon us, we'll

  155. associate it with a service, right?

  156. And we associate the anointing with actions, certain actions.

  157. Again, question, why do we run when the anointing comes on you?

  158. Why do we run? Hallelujah.

  159. I mean, you understand where where am I going?

  160. Well, what scripture are you using?

  161. Well, we understand that Elijah, the anointing came on him

  162. concerning rain and he girded up his loins and he took off.

  163. Well, you understand, we're definitely not being anointed

  164. for rain to come and then running.

  165. And I'm not saying you can't run no problem.

  166. I'm just saying is it because we see people in these Genesis 3 to

  167. Revelations 20 specifically and see how they are being affected

  168. when the Holy Spirit comes upon them that we are try.

  169. We think that's the reason. Now I'm not saying you can't

  170. have some things again. David obviously have the

  171. anointing come on him and he danced before the Lord.

  172. Please dance. Oh, please dance.

  173. There's plenty of scripture talking about dancing.

  174. No problem with dancing, OK? No problem with raising your

  175. hand. No problem with clapping.

  176. No problem that if you get so much on you that you just like I

  177. got to go, fine, take off. I understand that.

  178. But again, those are not why we have the anointing.

  179. They're just some effects that sometimes can happen when it

  180. comes on us again. But it's not what we're looking

  181. for, you understand? I don't want the anointing to

  182. run. I don't want the anointing to

  183. have goosebumps. I I don't want the anointing to

  184. fall down on my face before the Lord and then stay there for a

  185. time that then once it lifts, I'm the same person, No change.

  186. I don't want an anointing to come on me to dance, but then

  187. the next day when bad news comes, we're not dancing.

  188. Amen. You know, I wish I was back in

  189. that service. Well, why is there the anointing

  190. in the 1st place? OK, because the day of Pentecost

  191. is really significant. And again, we highlight it based

  192. upon a language, but it was something bigger than that.

  193. Because at the end of the day, yes, can we pray in an unknown

  194. tongue, which is just the language of the Kingdom?

  195. Absolutely. But you understand, the Lord

  196. didn't say, hey, I want you to hang out, wait for the Holy

  197. Spirit to be poured out so that you can speak in an unknown

  198. tongue. You notice he never told them

  199. that. What he said to them is that you

  200. would receive what? Receive what?

  201. Receive what power. You know what He didn't say?

  202. He said you'll receive when. When he comes, you're going to

  203. fall on the ground. When he comes, you're going to

  204. flop around. When he comes, you're going to

  205. run out the building. When he comes, you're going to

  206. laugh so hysterically that you will not be able to contain

  207. yourself. Now all those things can happen,

  208. but what did he say would happen?

  209. You'll receive power. Now that's important.

  210. Are you hearing me? So let me say this concerning

  211. Jesus in Luke chapter 4 verse 18, he said this.

    Luke 4:18

  212. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me.

  213. OK, Luke 4, let's look at this progression real quick before I

  214. go over to Acts chapter 10. Jesus says, now permit it so

    Acts 10 chapter mention

  215. that all righteousness can be fulfilled.

  216. He's baptized in the door and he comes up.

  217. The Holy Spirit comes upon Jesus descends upon him, and the

  218. Father said this of my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased.

  219. Then the next verse, he's full of the Holy Spirit.

  220. Luke 41 He's full of the Holy Spirit after he's tempted of the

  221. devil. So he was full of the Holy

  222. Spirit before he encountered the Prince of the power of the air.

  223. God didn't. OK, I'll just give you the

  224. punchline because it's going to be easier if I do it from here.

  225. In Luke chapter 3, the Holy Spirit comes upon Jesus, of

    Luke 3 chapter mention

  226. which he acknowledges in the 18th verse of Luke 4 that he's

  227. been anointed. When the Holy Spirit came upon

  228. him, it was the King's anointing that came on him.

  229. He received a King's power. This is significant because he's

  230. full of the Holy Spirit or the anointing that says he's king.

  231. That God who is king on the throne, the Father who is the

  232. King of all creation, says this is my son.

  233. Well, if he's king and this is a son, then guess what?

  234. The son is the son's a king. This is my Son in whom I'm well

  235. pleased. So in essence, the Father says I

  236. will not send my Son to battle the God of this world or the one

  237. who's ruling the world until he himself is in his rulership

  238. position. Jesus is without sin.

  239. He's never sinned up to this point.

  240. He's had no sin. So as far as righteousness is

  241. concerned, Jesus is righteous, but he does not be LED.

  242. He is not led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of

  243. the devil until he shows up with the authority of the king.

  244. So he received power, he received the Holy Ghost, he had

  245. the fullness of the spirit, and in that full of the spirit, he

  246. was able to overcome all the temptations of the devil for

  247. those 40 days. And then verse 14 says he left.

  248. He came to the next location in the power of the spirit.

  249. What did he do? I show this God of this world,

  250. or the ruler of this world, the the one who rules the domain of

  251. darkness, that there's a new king in the earth because he

  252. could not defeat me. Kings go to battle.

  253. So the king went to battle with the ruler of this world and he

  254. defeated him before he openly stripped him of his power.

  255. I mean, it's just the beginning of a long line of defeats for

  256. the God of this world, a long line of defeats.

  257. But Jesus did not go because he had goosebumps.

  258. Jesus did not go because he fell out in the Spirit.

  259. He, Jesus did not go because he was laughing hysterically.

  260. Jesus went because he was anointed as king with power.

  261. Now, I'm not going to say that Jesus did not.

  262. The Bible just doesn't tell us that during some of the

  263. temptation, he may have just started laughing.

  264. He could have. For the joy of the Lord is your

  265. strength. And he was tempted 40 days.

  266. I mean, it was in intense temptation and persecution from

  267. the Prince of the power of the air.

  268. I mean, I'm going to tell you right now, I don't believe

  269. there's anyone in this room that the devil has showed up at your

  270. house. I don't believe any of you have

  271. ever had an encounter with the devil, Satan himself.

  272. Now you'd probably have some encounters with some of his

  273. spirits, but most likely he's never really showed up.

  274. But he showed up with Jesus, right?

  275. This is the one that rules that realm.

  276. This is the one that was able to pull the domain or the authority

  277. power from Adam. And now he has it because the

  278. Luke account, which is why I went to the Luke 1.

  279. If you read that temptation is where he says all this domain or

  280. power or authority I'll give to you if you because it's been

  281. handed over to me. If you just bow down and worship

  282. me and Jesus like not going to happen.

  283. It's written. It is written.

  284. It is written. That's how you respond.

  285. It is written. It is written now.

  286. I'm not going to say that he didn't say give me some more.

  287. I'm not going to say he didn't get excited.

  288. Jump around. I'm not.

  289. Scripture just doesn't indicate it.

  290. Why? Because those effects are not

  291. what's important. What's important is he knew he

  292. had power and authority. That's what's important.

  293. So again, if I run in a service or if I dance in a service, or

  294. if I shout in a service, or if I laugh uncontrollably in a

  295. service so that I'm then the next day I'm stronger because

  296. of, because again, it's the authority.

  297. It's not those particular things in and of itself.

  298. And again, I would have strength because first I would have to

  299. believe that the joy of the Lord actually is my strength.

  300. Because you can laugh and not believe it's your strength and

  301. then just be more exhausted after you've been laughing.

  302. Have you ever laughed? Did your stomach hurt so bad?

  303. You're like, man, I feel like I'm wore out.

  304. Well, where's the strength at? There's faith that still has to

  305. be applied here. So Jesus had power.

  306. Power here in the Greek means this.

  307. It is one who has power to rule. It's the potentiality to exert

  308. force in performing some function power.

  309. So the first thing though, is the power to rule.

  310. So Jesus received an anointing from his Father and says you

  311. have the power to rule. Hallelujah.

  312. Come on, do you have the power of the rule?

  313. That's way more important than anything else that happens with

  314. the Holy Ghost in Acts chapter 10 verse 38 says you know of

    Acts 10:38

  315. Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy

  316. Spirit and with there's that word that is one who has power

  317. to rule and how he went about doing good and healing all who

  318. are oppressed of the devil for God was with him.

  319. Now the theological Dictionary of the New Testament says it

  320. this way says these works that Jesus did went around doing good

  321. differ from similar acts of power in contemporary world in

  322. three ways. Number one, they have no

  323. connection with magic. This is not magic, this is not

  324. sorcery. That's witchcraft.

  325. So this has the anointing has nothing to do with that.

  326. This has to do with rulership #2 they are done by the Word, which

  327. is the word of the omnipotent God, whose king Kingdom here

  328. enters history and overthrows the rule of hostile forces.

  329. So #1 it's not magic #2 it is from a word, and it's from the

  330. word of the King. Because now the Kingdom of our

  331. God has reentered the earth. That's why Jesus said now the

  332. Kingdom of God is at hand. Our Father who's in heaven,

  333. hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come, your will be done.

  334. That's his rule, that's his reign.

  335. He wants that. So the anointing, the reason we

  336. want the anointing is so that it continues to strengthen the

  337. rulership God has given us in Christ.

  338. All right. The third thing is, is the

  339. presupposed faith both in him who does the work and in those

  340. whose behalf they are done. So a personal relationship is

  341. demanded. So again, Jesus had a

  342. relationship with the Father who anointed him, and by faith he

  343. carried out the word of his Father.

  344. Both he and God. God believed his own word.

  345. Jesus believed him at his word, and because of that, the word of

  346. the King came to pass. Why?

  347. Because it demonstrated the authority of the Kingdom.

  348. So the anointing when it's in our lives should be a should be

  349. demonstrating the authority of the Kingdom first and foremost.

  350. But again, when we're in between Genesis 3 and Revelations 20,

  351. then we're really just trying to, if we don't watch out, you

  352. know, we, we don't seem to think that there's much the effect on

  353. the earth isn't the same because our goal is to be out of here.

  354. So then we just like these tangible touches from God,

  355. thinking the anointing is a tangible touch from God in our

  356. lives that make us feel better and helps us cope with what's

  357. going on down here. Now the anointing is not here to

  358. help you cope or to let you remind you that there is a God

  359. in heaven who cares for you. It is to remind you, you rule

  360. and reign. Now the good news is it does

  361. feel awesome and it's exciting to be in those types of services

  362. where the anointing comes upon you in a greater measure.

  363. And again, when people are in one mind 1 accord, it flows even

  364. easier. I'm not saying that it can't

  365. flow with conflict because we know the anointing can flow with

  366. conflict. Jesus obviously was in a

  367. particular room that a guy's ripped the ceiling off and put

  368. their paralyzed friend down. And it says he's seeing their

  369. faith. He ends up speaking to him.

  370. And there were people in the corner that were not there to

  371. support Jesus's ministry, but they were the religious to to,

  372. to always be listening and trying to make his words seem

  373. wrong in the ears of those they were talking to.

  374. OK. And so then Jesus by word of

  375. knowledge ends up calling them out and said, why do you say to

  376. yourself? So to let you know that not only

  377. can I forgive sins and heal because they're both easy for

  378. me. He told the man to get up and

  379. walk. The man got up and walk and

  380. walked out. So even though there was

  381. conflict in the room, power, the authority he had with his word

  382. over the paralyzation of the man's body overruled the

  383. paralyzed man's body, called him to be whole again, where he

  384. could get up in his own strength and walk out with a mat.

  385. Now that's pretty powerful because when someone's

  386. paralyzed, you know, I don't remember the terms.

  387. That app, you know, where the muscles get really small.

  388. Yes, that's the one. And so obviously the Lord was

  389. able to quicken those muscles. He didn't say, OK, you're healed

  390. now and we're going to help you get up.

  391. Now let's do a few squats real quick to do some air squats.

  392. All right, get down a little lower.

  393. Let's keep working it out. Here we go.

  394. Come on, we're doing it. You're getting it.

  395. Starting to get strength. But no, I mean, he jumped up.

  396. Grab the mat. I mean, this happened at the

  397. gate. Beautiful with Peter.

  398. Why 'cause Peter was anointed on the day of Pentecost.

  399. And when he goes by in the next chapter, he didn't say, man, you

  400. should have been in the upper room.

  401. It was an amazing service. Oh, my gosh.

  402. I mean, we were like drunk. It was crazy.

  403. I mean, I had explained the whole thing.

  404. I mean, you should have been there.

  405. Didn't say that to the man at the gate.

  406. Beautiful. Oh, he didn't testify about the

  407. feeling of the anointing upon him.

  408. I mean, it's like I had tongues of fire.

  409. It was crazy. No, what he did, he said silver

  410. and gold, I have none. But what I do have, what do I

  411. have? I have the same anointing that

  412. was on King. Jesus is now on me, and he has

  413. just authorized me, 'cause I was there when they ripped the roof

  414. off man. And Jesus spoke to that

  415. paralyzed guy and he got up and here I am going to do the same

  416. thing because I'm a king of the King and I'm going to speak in

  417. the name of Jesus. Get up walking.

  418. He was so confident that he grabbed his hand and snatched

  419. him up. That's the anointing.

  420. Well, it's more exciting than you're saying, but that's fine.

  421. It's the anointing because he recognized it wasn't about this

  422. service. It was about power, authority,

  423. rulership, kingship. Listen same principle that

  424. happened with Jesus. He did with his disciples.

  425. Jesus is born of the Virgin Mary.

  426. He is a man in he's God in the flesh, yet never sin.

  427. So when he was one, no sin 2 no sin 5 no sin 10 no sin 13 no sin

  428. 16 no sin 25 no sin, 30 years old, no sin.

  429. He is without sin. His nature is free from sin.

  430. This is powerful. His thinking is pure.

  431. Yet the Father says, I don't even want you to go to the king

  432. of this world until I announce your kingship and anoint you.

  433. And here's what Jesus does. And John he breathes on his

  434. disciples receive the Holy Spirit.

  435. Now they've been made righteous. They're in the likeness, they're

  436. born again. Their nature now is like Christ.

  437. They are new creatures in Christ.

  438. But he said, wait, don't you go witness in one bit yet?

  439. Because I need your kingship to show up because he said the

  440. worst that I do even greater works.

  441. Are you going to do and when? What was the context of that?

  442. If I go, he comes and it's to your advantage that he comes and

  443. I go. Why?

  444. Because if I'm here, I am the king.

  445. But when I go, then I can release that same anointing.

  446. And 1st John tells us that we have the same anointing.

  447. So the day of Pentecost is so important because it was God's

  448. announcement to a defeated foe that's been whipped and stripped

  449. of his power that I just left a whole lot of kings on the earth

  450. that represent my Kingdom. And they are going to make a

  451. mess of your domain. They're going to make a mess

  452. because the same power I had, they now have glory to God.

  453. Amen. So we're not sensing and feeling

  454. and have an anointing just to get us through until we go

  455. somewhere. No, we received an anointing

  456. that has feelings and does certain things to us at times

  457. and causes us to respond in certain ways.

  458. But it's all about this authority, this dominion, this

  459. power that God has given us. Can I get an Amen?

  460. So with that being said, turn over to John 14 again, Jesus

  461. said, truly, truly. I say to you, he who believes in

  462. me, the works that I do, greater works will He do, right.

  463. The worse that I do He will do also in greater works than these

  464. He will do because I go to the Father.

  465. John 14 jumps down to verse 16 and seven.

  466. He said, I'll ask the Father and he'll give you another comforter

  467. that he may be with you forever. That is the spirit of truth whom

  468. the world cannot receive because it does not see him or know him,

  469. but you know him because he abides in you and will be in you

  470. right here. It is now in John chapter 20

    John 20:21

  471. verse 21 and 22. And Jesus said to them, peace be

  472. with you as the Father as as the Father has sent me, I also send

  473. you. And when he had said this, he

  474. breathed on them and said, receive the Holy Spirit.

  475. So the Father sent me in righteousness, impurity, my

  476. spirit man was alive to him. The Holy Spirit came in him in

  477. me. Now at this junk, you know this

  478. juncture is when they actually received the Spirit within.

  479. Up to this point the Holy Spirit had only been coming upon

  480. prophet, priests and kings in the old covenant.

  481. But now this is the death, burial and resurrection of

  482. Jesus. This is after he has been raised

  483. from the dead. He has put his blood on the

  484. mercy seat. The new covenant is in play and

  485. he said receive the Holy Spirit, they receive the Spirit within

  486. that bears witness with their spirit, their children of God.

  487. Then he said, now you wait until the promise of the Father.

  488. You know what John was talking about, that he baptized the

  489. water, but I'm going to be baptizing with the Holy Spirit

  490. and fire. He's coming and I want you to

  491. wait till he comes. And on the day of Pentecost,

  492. Whoo, come on. On the day of the day of

  493. Pentecost was God's announcement to the world.

  494. Here are the kings of the earth. My gosh, are you hearing what

  495. I'm saying? In Genesis chapter 2 verse

    Genesis 2 chapter mention

  496. seven, Look at this. Jesus breathed on them in John

  497. 20. Why does He do this?

  498. Because this is what the Father did to Adam in Genesis 27.

  499. Then the Lord got four man out of the dust of the ground and

  500. what breathed into His nostrils the breath of life, and He

  501. became a living being. So you understand then the fall

  502. of man cause man to lose access to the Holy Spirit.

  503. So in essence, human beings were made in the image and likeness

  504. of the King, with his own personal presence within them.

  505. Isn't that amazing? In every person's search for

  506. power and meaning in life is this.

  507. They are actually seeking the return of the King's spirit.

  508. That's all. Every person in their search for

  509. power and meaning, what they're actually looking for is the

  510. return of the King's spirit. That's what they're looking for.

  511. A human being without the King's spirit is dysfunctional because

  512. he's never complete. His very purpose requires the

  513. presence of the Holy Spirit. Are you hearing me?

  514. Come on. Are you hearing me?

  515. Now listen, we have some tools that train in this area.

  516. First of all, cool of the day deals with prayer, how to talk

  517. to your Father. I mean, you understand we write

  518. material for no other purpose than to help disciple the body.

  519. And you understand the books that we write are for Anchor

  520. Faith first. If anyone else picks it up,

  521. great, but they're for us first. Then as you've read them and

  522. they change your life, then you can get them for other people

  523. because some contents that's within this book isn't being

  524. taught everywhere when it comes to prayer.

  525. Amen. And these are tools because you

  526. understand sometimes it's difficult to get in a

  527. conversation with people about the Bible.

  528. You know, not a whole lot of people want to talk the word.

  529. So sometimes it's easier to get there by saying, you know what,

  530. I picked up a book for you. Oh, OK, yeah, Amen.

  531. Now you pray over that book first, Lord, speak to him

  532. through the book because I can tell you right now it's not the

  533. Bible, but it has a lot of Bible in it, right?

  534. Then we have another tool called lead follower on how to be led

  535. by the Spirit. Again, once the anointing, the

  536. minute Jesus comes out of the Jordan River and the Holy Spirit

  537. came upon him without measure, the Spirit started talking.

  538. Jesus, I want you to go to the wilderness.

  539. And he had to learn how to be a lead follower.

  540. We call Jesus the greatest leader, but the reality is in

  541. the earth as the Son of man, he was the greatest lead follower

  542. because he was just following the voice of his Father by the

  543. Spirit. I don't do anything on my own

  544. initiative, he said, but only what my father says.

  545. So when I'm doing this, you know, they're like, wow, look at

  546. this guy lead. I'm following.

  547. And the centurion knew that the centurion when he came to Jesus

  548. about his servant that was sick, he said, what did he say to me?

  549. He said, Jesus, I am on a man under authority.

  550. I am a man also under authority and in authority he said I like

  551. you, am a man under and in. When I tell my servant to go, he

  552. goes. When I tell him to come, he

  553. comes. I'll tell him to do this, He

  554. does it. Jesus said I've not seen such

  555. great faith. No, not in all of Israel.

  556. But the first thing is centurion recognized about Jesus authority

  557. is the one he was under before the one he was in.

  558. Because if you can't be under, and let me just say it this way,

  559. we're all under, Even those outside the Kingdom of God are

  560. under the authority of the devil.

  561. Now, we all have wills, don't get me wrong.

  562. But the demonic realm is seductive, manipulative, and

  563. deceiving. And many of them are like I'm

  564. doing. But you're really deceived and

  565. you don't realize that you're being told stuff and you're

  566. really functioning that way, but you think you're the boss when

  567. you're not. I know I'm not the boss, and I

  568. just yielded. God, what do you want me to do?

  569. How do you want me to respond? What do you want me to say?

  570. How do you want me to act? I'm following you and the Holy

  571. Ghost in me will tell me. Hallelujah, Amen.

  572. So again, these are just resources for you, the things

  573. that we experienced on Sunday and we'll experience these more

  574. and more. I mean, we've done it through

  575. the years anyway. You know, you have these ebbs

  576. and flows of, you know, teaching and the moves of the Spirit.

  577. I mean, they're there. But in the last days, it's just

  578. going to be continuing increase. I mean, even already tonight I

  579. had unction to pray for somebody for healing and I just had

  580. unction and I know they'll be healed as a result of that

  581. because the Lord said to do so, right.

  582. And as we're listening and we're yielding and moving and doing

  583. these particular things because it's his church that he's

  584. building. But the reason why Pentecost

  585. comes is so that we can receive. Is that not what he said in Acts

  586. chapter one verse 3. He said in those and these whom

  587. he presented alive after his suffering by many convincing

  588. proofs appeared to them over a period of 40 days.

  589. And Speaking of things concerning the Kingdom of God,

  590. gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave

  591. Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, which

  592. he said, You heard from me for John baptized with water, but

  593. you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from

  594. now. Hallelujah.

  595. Now they didn't know what day it was, but they didn't know that

  596. it wasn't many days. Are you hearing what I'm saying?

  597. Now we ultimately know that Jesus appeared to about 500

  598. people. I cannot tell you He personally

  599. invited all 500, but I can tell you that he definitely had a

  600. conversation about that. 120 were committed to prayer.

  601. It could have been larger than that right out the gate.

  602. We do know 120 submitted to the process of waiting for

  603. something, in essence obeying him.

  604. He says that. He says he's coming, we're

  605. waiting, we're praying. And again, this is very powerful

  606. because the very first church is birthed out of a prayer meeting.

  607. This is why prayer, corporate prayer time is so attacked.

  608. And the enemy will do everything to convince you not to engage.

  609. And just for the fact that we see this happen in every nation.

  610. Makes me want to assume that 500 could have attended the prayer

  611. meeting, but only 120 made it. That means more did not come.

  612. Wow, isn't that amazing? Say I'll be one of the 120.

  613. Come on, just be one of the 120. Amen.

  614. So here's another thought. The most important promise God

  615. ever made to human beings was the promise that the Holy Spirit

  616. would return to live within them because He is the key to life.

  617. When Adam ate the fruit, the Spirit departed from him.

  618. This is what we've been waiting on, that reconnection with not

  619. only God, but our purpose and destiny.

  620. Without the Holy Spirit we are incomplete because God always

  621. intended us to be connected to Him, to be of Him, because we

  622. were created in His image that His Spirit could freely flow

  623. with us. So it's the most important

  624. promise that He made is that He's coming back.

  625. Aren't you glad He came back? It is.

  626. It was the presence of the Holy Spirit within human beings that

  627. gave them the authority and ability to have dominion over

  628. their environment. This is why you want the

  629. anointing. This is why I would say, have

  630. you received the baptism of the Spirit?

  631. It's the power you're after. Tongues is an evidence.

  632. It's not the reason, it's the power tongues, just the

  633. evidence. And it's important because you

  634. need to pray in the Spirit. In essence, you're praying in

  635. the language of the Kingdom, which is full authority of God's

  636. will to impact your environment. What's the Bible say?

  637. When you don't know how you ought to pray?

  638. What do you do? You pray in the Spirit, and

  639. praying in the Spirit prays out the perfect will of God.

  640. So God empowered you through an anointing, a King's anointing.

  641. That then gives you access to a language that the enemy has no

  642. idea what you're saying, and it releases God's perfect will.

  643. You said, but I don't understand it, but God does.

  644. Because when you're in a situation and you don't know how

  645. you ought to overcome this thing God does, and you can pray in

  646. the Spirit and release that will you being the king in the earth,

  647. you're releasing the very words from the throne room in the

  648. earth that heaven, earth and under the earth must obey in the

  649. name of Jesus, Hallelujah. And in these last days, you want

  650. to be praying in the spirit. You want to be releasing that

  651. when those times you're like, ma'am, I don't even know what to

  652. do here. Well, you know what my heavenly

  653. Father does? Boom.

  654. And you just start letting it go.

  655. And what you're doing is you're you're making decrees and

  656. declares from the throne room of heaven that will cause things to

  657. begin to move. If you understand all creation

  658. bows to the word of the king. Hallelujah bows.

  659. So you understand creation is even bowing.

  660. Things are bowing to the Spirit of God and the authority and

  661. power. So he says, listen, you the the

  662. this dominion that we get that the Holy Spirit gave us back,

  663. gave us dominion to rule over our environment.

  664. They were to exercise that's us humans.

  665. We are to exercise dominion over the earth under the direction of

  666. the Spirit of God. The reason why we could speak to

  667. storms is because we have been given authority on the earth,

  668. and when the King, his Spirit, authorizes that, then the storm

  669. has to listen again. All of Jesus's miracles were in

  670. the authority. Adam lost every one of them.

  671. Let us make man in our image according to our likeness, and

  672. let him have rule over the right birds of the air, the fish of

  673. the sea. This is why fish are multiplying

  674. all the time with Jesus. Because he had authority over

  675. it. Adam had authority over that.

  676. Jesus can speak and fish listen even when they're dead.

  677. Why? Because all matter.

  678. You understand what I'm saying? All that is and exists hears the

  679. voice of Jesus. So it doesn't matter that the

  680. fish are out of the sea and they are technically not alive.

  681. Jesus can speak to the substance of the fish, and the cells come

  682. alive and begin to multiply this meat on the fish, so that every

  683. time he divides and gives to his disciples, it just keeps

  684. multiplying. That's because he's anointed.

  685. That's because he's been given the power to rule and he's given

  686. that to us. Wow.

  687. So the restoration of the King's spirit to humanity is central to

  688. the restoration of his Kingdom on the earth.

  689. Again, because Genesis 3 to Revelations 20 ministering, we

  690. look at the Holy Spirit and, and a lot of areas only look at the

  691. Holy Spirit as the one who tells us we're children of God and

  692. they only receive the spirit within.

  693. I'm born again. That's all that matters is what

  694. they, you know, tend to think. And so I just know where I'm

  695. going to go when I'm when I die now, because the Spirit of God

  696. speaks to my spirit. I can hear from God.

  697. That's all that matters. Well, that's that's phase one

  698. because it was never about you just hearing from God.

  699. It's about you living like God. Now you're not God, you're a

  700. human being. That is your species.

  701. Can I say it that way? I mean, there are angels.

  702. Angels are not God. They are created species.

  703. We are created species called humans, but they're in the image

  704. of God. Hallelujah.

  705. So I am no way saying you are God or even a God.

  706. What I'm saying is you are a human that is in the likeness of

  707. God and can do the same things God can do Hallelujah.

  708. Amen. Now that is good news.

  709. Now is it good news to not go to the lake of fire forever?

  710. But is it also good news to be healed?

  711. Now isn't it also good news to be able to prosper now for your

  712. purpose? Isn't it also good news now to

  713. not ever be depressed, but have the joy of the Lord, which is

  714. your strength? Isn't it also good news to be

  715. given authority over the devil and your flesh?

  716. So the good news just keeps coming.

  717. I mean, the Lord, if he could go into churches, he would be

  718. saying stuff like this. But wait, there's more, right?

  719. Because there's always more with God as a human, He has empowered

  720. me with His spirit so that my spirit with His spirit can do

  721. the works of God. Wow, isn't that amazing?

  722. I said, isn't that amazing? Praise the Lord.

  723. So Jesus said or or Jesus says in Acts 1/8, he said, but you

  724. shall receive. What are you going to receive?

  725. So again, when we are expecting the anointing or we're asking

  726. for the anointing, we're not asking to fall under the power,

  727. although we could. We're not asking that we're

  728. going to laugh, although we could.

  729. We're not asking that we run or have goosebumps.

  730. What we're asking is what Jesus said.

  731. Listen, I want you to receive power.

  732. Now, again, because we live in between Genesis 3 and Revelation

  733. 20, when we focus on the day of Pentecost, we'll focus on the

  734. effect of the anointing and not the purpose of the anointing.

  735. We'll focus on the effect of the anointing and not the purpose of

  736. the anointing. That they were so drunk he had

  737. to explain it. And they say, you know, you want

  738. to get into a service where everybody's looking like they're

  739. drunk. Well, if if you're so under the

  740. influence of the spirit that you're stammering with your lips

  741. and you can't hardly stand up under the anointing, because

  742. that is true stuff. I mean, when the glory of God

  743. came into the temple in the old covenant, the priest couldn't

  744. even stand. There's no issue.

  745. But those are effects of the anointing.

  746. That's not the purpose of the anointing.

  747. The purpose of the anointing is that you receive power.

  748. You understand more people sometimes get discouraged with

  749. Charismatics is because they they they demonstrate effects of

  750. the anointing but aren't walking in the purpose of the anointing.

  751. Yeah. So the Day of Pentecost, its

  752. purpose was to give you King's authority, King's power, King's

  753. rulership, and again, your mortal body.

  754. Especially since we don't have a glorified suit, this mortal body

  755. is going to to have enough. It will be affected by the

  756. anointing or power of God when it comes upon us.

  757. It definitely will. But again, that's not why I want

  758. the anointing. I want the anointing so that

  759. when I'm walking out day in and day out, then I'm functioning in

  760. that authority and power. When when one of the defeated

  761. principalities and powers comes against the church, I'll be able

  762. to stay on the seat and speak and respond like a king.

  763. But if you chase the effects of the anointing and the feeling of

  764. the anointing, then your words are going to be based upon how

  765. you feel and you miss the anointing all together.

  766. You actually have an anointing to have authority to control

  767. your flesh, control your mind, control your mouth, speak only

  768. what he says. But because you go after the

  769. effects of the anointing and not the purpose of the anointing,

  770. then your words are going to be filled with effect.

  771. This is why we see Charismatics, or what we would call

  772. Pentecostals, we would call people full of the Holy Ghost,

  773. yet act just as carnal as the world.

  774. They can pray in tongues like crazy on a Sunday and curse on a

  775. Monday. It's craziest thing.

  776. Come on, y'all know what I'm talking about?

  777. Y'all been around a couple? Yeah.

  778. I mean, everybody's growing. I get it.

  779. But again, what is it? We unfortunately, sometimes

  780. we're taught, you know, we're trying to get this sense of

  781. heaven. And the anointing gives us this

  782. kind of feeling of a realm that's not here.

  783. And we begin to chase the feeling instead of understanding

  784. the purpose. Because I don't care who runs,

  785. laughs, shouts, rolls on the floor.

  786. It doesn't. But I don't care if you're so

  787. drunk we got to drag you out of here because you're so full of

  788. the Holy Ghost. No problem.

  789. It's just when I hear you talk, I should hear the words of the

  790. King. It is written.

  791. Your emotions, your behavior should be in alignment with it

  792. is written. Now that's a person that's like,

  793. that's the anointing. They understand the anointing

  794. for their lives and Jesus said, but you will receive what Acts

  795. 18 power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.

  796. Please understand I am in no way diminishing the effects of the

  797. anointing. That's just not the purpose

  798. because effects of the anointing can change.

  799. You know, the anointing can get you quiet.

  800. I was talking to a minister not too long ago.

  801. You know, when I say not too long ago, it's been a little bit

  802. OK, you understand, mine not too long ago can be 2-3 years

  803. people. But anyway, I was talking and

  804. they were like, you know, again, just they were dealing with the

  805. challenge of, of, of people acting like the Holy Ghost was

  806. moving when these effects were in operation.

  807. And they kept they keep pushing. You can push a service to those

  808. effects and so was talking about, I remember the day when

  809. the anointing would come in and everybody just get quiet, can

  810. hear a pin drop. Babies can be in the service and

  811. never cry when that anointing comes in like that.

  812. See, we want to be wiser. We want to be a mature church.

  813. We want to recognize when the anointing's here and then not

  814. think one effect is more of God than the other.

  815. I mean, in fact, this particular minister said they've received

  816. more direction during the quiet times than they ever did during

  817. the laughing, running or shouting times, although they've

  818. done that because if we don't watch out, we brother Hayden

  819. used to say this. If you do not train the people

  820. how to move with the spirit, you'll lose it in a generation.

  821. You can train people about the move of the spirit only in one

  822. way and still lose a generation because they'll think that's the

  823. only way. They'll think that's the only

  824. way. So if you're going to talk about

  825. the effects of the anointing, then talk about all of them.

  826. Don't talk about the one that made you feel the best.

  827. And here's the thing, A lot of times when we're dealing with

  828. stuff and God brings the anointing on our lives and we

  829. feel, I mean, how many have felt his tangible presence even on

  830. Sunday, right? I mean, and then even today, how

  831. many feel his tangible presence? Yeah.

  832. I mean, you can just like, but it's not about feeling Him.

  833. It's about knowing Him, right? It's about knowing him.

  834. But we can feel him. We can respond with our emotions

  835. when it's directed by our Spirit, no problem.

  836. However, it's not the feeling we're after, and Jesus is trying

  837. to emphasize that here. But you will receive power when

  838. the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my

  839. witnesses both in Jerusalem and Judea, Samaria, and even to the

  840. run as parts of the earth. We'll close with this one here.

  841. Acts 2, one through 4. Pentecost was Sunday, Amen.

  842. Which again, is just 50 days after Passover.

  843. That's what that means. Pentecost by itself is not

  844. about, I don't want to say Pentecost was something prior to

  845. the outpouring of the Spirit because it was a type and shadow

  846. of something to come, which was the outpouring of the Spirit.

  847. You understand what I'm saying? OK, so this was 50 days after

  848. Passover. Pentecost had come.

  849. So the fulfillment of this particular feast, which is

  850. called the Feast of Weeks as well, is going to be fulfilled

  851. through Jesus. And the Holy Spirit said they

  852. were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from

  853. heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the

  854. whole house where they were sitting.

  855. And there appeared to them tongues as a fire distributing

  856. themselves, and they rested on each one of them.

  857. And they were all. How many were all filled?

  858. That means he doesn't feel some and none all.

  859. In this context, we feel all. Now, I'm not talking about the

  860. gifts of tongue. That's something different.

  861. This is about receiving power. All of us can receive power.

  862. The Holy Spirit has gifts. OK, you understand?

  863. We'll debate this. People will debate this.

  864. Well, now, if you're Speaking of tongues, that's a gift, you

  865. know, because the gifts of tongues, well, you know, there's

  866. the gifts of healings. Yeah.

  867. The Bible says every believer can lay hands on the sick and

  868. they shall recover, and the gifts are not required.

  869. But there are some healings that require gifts.

  870. So again, if you can have healings without gifts, then you

  871. can have tongues without the gift of tongues.

  872. So they're two separate things. Are you hearing what I'm saying?

  873. So again, this is the endowment of power.

  874. We focus on tongues when we need to focus on power, because if

  875. you come for the power, you'll, you'll speak in an unknown

  876. tongue. That's, I mean, it's just going

  877. to happen because it comes with the power.

  878. So they were all filled with the spirit, began to speak with

  879. other tongues as the spirit was giving them others.

  880. And you understand that there is, they are unknown tongues,

  881. but they're not limited to unknown tongues because Paul

  882. literally talks about it being an unknown tongue where your

  883. mind's not fruitful, period. However, you can speak another

  884. language. I have personally spoken in some

  885. Asian tongue. Once I was in prayer and I was

  886. praying and I started praying in some Asian and I knew in my

  887. spirit, this is a language. I knew it.

  888. Now, no one's in the house but me, so I don't know what I'm

  889. saying, but I knew in my spirit, if I was in that country, they

  890. would understand me. And then I perceived in my

  891. spirit that someone within that nation needed something, that

  892. God used that language through me to decree what was necessary

  893. to break. And I'll never know what that

  894. is, probably this side. I may not never know what this

  895. is, this side of heaven, this side of the Bema seat or the

  896. reward seat of Christ, because I believe at that moment, because

  897. I united that whatever occurred and whatever was released,

  898. because once I got a release, I quit speaking in it, then

  899. whatever that was, I believe the Lord will let me know on that

  900. day. But at this point I don't know

  901. what it is. So again, you couldn't say,

  902. well, that kind of sound, you know, you may be speaking in a

  903. language known to someone somewhere, period.

  904. Now, I'll even give you this one.

  905. Pastor David EMI, who went on to be with the Lord, was my pastor.

  906. At Word of Life, before I came and planted this church, I had

  907. him come to Anchor Bay Church and minister and he ministered

  908. on the Holy Spirit and we were over at 312 in a backroom

  909. because we were doing some remodeling.

  910. We got stuck in 3000 square feet instead of having the whole 10

  911. and so we he was back there ministering.

  912. Well, a lady was there with a friend who only understood

  913. Spanish, and so while he was ministering in English, she was

  914. leaning over and translating what he was saying.

  915. About halfway through, the lady who was receiving the

  916. translation said, you don't have to talk to me anymore.

  917. He's speaking in Spanish. I hear him perfectly.

  918. But he was not speaking in Spanish.

  919. He was speaking in English. But when it hit her ears, it

  920. changed. Now I cannot explain that, but

  921. that was her testimony. You don't have to translate.

  922. I can hear him perfectly speaking in my language.

  923. And she listened to him the rest of the time.

  924. Now they're sound waves, you understand, You can interrupt

  925. sound waves. They're out.

  926. But the Lord can tweak that. OK.

  927. But again, we've been emphasizing language when the

  928. emphasis is power. So the day of Pentecost was the

  929. great coronation of the kings. It was a ceremony that the earth

  930. is about to be full of kings of in Christ's that and he

  931. demonstrated this with 120 in one day 120 people were were

  932. anointed as kings that then Peter says do you want to

  933. receive your kingship too. He said this is that which was

  934. prophesied by the prophet Joel. He goes on and ministers and

  935. they're like what must we do because he said this promise is

  936. for you. You can have this power too.

  937. And 3000, who came that day not thinking they would be kings,

  938. but became kings that day. And then it started a King's

  939. revival. That ain't.

  940. People are just getting in the Kingdom, being born from above,

  941. being anointed, and then they're all operating and functioning

  942. like little Christ. And it became such a wild thing

  943. that in Antioch, people would recognize them as Christians.

  944. Why? Because they function like

  945. Christ. So if you're a Christian, then

  946. you're just saying you're a little king of the king, and if

  947. you are, then you need to function in his authority.

  948. Hallelujah. So first take authority over

  949. your own life, your own mind, your own emotions, your own

  950. desires. Yield and submit them to the

  951. King of glory. And then as you do that, God

  952. will release your authority even more out into the earth.

  953. Hallelujah.
