Beware - Kingdom Discernment with Pastor Marci Glisson

It's been stirring in me since, you know, the beginning of the

year around March time when we were reading this, and it just

stood out. Well, you know, I've read these

scriptures for 32 years all of my life, but that's what's so

good about our Heavenly Father. Things always will begin to jump

off the pages for you. Come on.

Because the Holy Spirit's always speaking.

And not only is He always speaking, not just what we need,

but preparing us for things to maybe to come that we don't even

know about, right? But then not only that, you

know, showing us that His word is living and active, that it

is, it is alive, that it is not dead.

When I pick up this word, it's alive.

That means it will jump up off the pages.

To me, over 30 years of reading the scriptures, there's

something else to be discovered. OK.

And so that's very important in where we're going with this.

And so it says, if any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

And he said unto them, take heed.

Say take heed what you hear, take heed what you hear.

With what measure you need it, it shall be measured to you and

unto you that hear shall more be given.

And we know Pastor was in the vein of faith and teaching out

of Romans because what faith comes by hearing and hearing

from the word of God? But then he also said anything

that we are doing and operating in comes through hearing,

period. It all comes through hearing.

So what are we giving our ears attention to?

Our ears? Why don't we say it like this?

Are your measuring cup OK? I should have brought my

measuring cup up here. Our ears are a measuring cup.

And what are we feeling that measuring cup up with?

Are we filling it up with hearing from the word of God?

Or are we filling it up with other voices?

And what are we talking about? Other voices, other things that

we listen to, right? As Pastor said, you may be

listening right now. My TV is on 24/7 news because

that's all my dad wants to listen to right now as I'm

taking care of him. So guess what?

He's feeding on the news. His cup is overflowing with the

news, right? The news, the news, the news.

Well, you may be a person that all you feed on is music.

Well, what kind of music are you feeding on, right?

You're filling your measuring cup up your ears.

Are your measuring cup OK? And so we know we should be

filling ourselves up with whatsoever things are pure,

holy, just, righteous. You know, the scripture tells us

and Peter, we should be meditating on these proper

things. And meditation has to do with

hearing as well. OK, But he's saying listen with

what measure you meet. But he lets us know, listen, you

need to take heed what you hear because again, we know there's

plenty of voices speaking. And we know that in the last

days, there's going to be, we've talked about this since last

year, seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.

And not only that, there's going to be voices that are going to

try to perpetuate lies within your life to get you off.

OK. And we need to recognize he's

telling us here. We need to be taking heed what

we're hearing. That means I'm not going to be

listening to everything that everybody has to say.

I'm going to take heed because I'm not going to fill up my

measuring cup with things I shouldn't be hearing.

Isn't that what happened to Eve? She was seduced by what the

serpent said, which was the opposite of what God said.

And so seduction, or you know, those seducing voices can come

from right here in what you're filling your ears with.

And so This is why the Scripture warns us to take heed what you

hear. And we also know in Second

Corinthians, you know, that he tells us we're actually

literally supposed to take every thought captive.

So how does a thought come? A thought comes a lot of times

from what you've allowed in your ear.

And you'll take on that thought and then you'll begin to

meditate on it because you heard something right?

And so he's warning us, listen, we need to take heed what we

hear. So what does take heed mean?

What it means when we look it up in the Greek, it means this, to

beware, beware. So he's given us a warning.

Isn't that what beware means? Beware of what you're hearing,

beware of. To see.

This is interesting to see, to look, to discern.

So now my eyes are involved. But guess what?

It's not. It's my eyes of the Spirit.

Because this has to do with discernment and perception and

perceiving. So what I hear I can see by the

Spirit if I discern properly, and if I can see through the

Spirit and perceive is what I'm hearing from God or not.

And this is important. And so it goes.

It says to discern with your eye, to perceive by your senses,

and to see with the mind's eye. You see that with the mind's

eye, and to have the power of understanding, to discern

mentally, to observe, to discover, and to understand.

So he's telling us that we need to understand, discern, see,

perceive with our senses and beware of what we are hearing,

of what we're hearing. It also means to turn your

thoughts because what you hear again will turn into that

thought and meditation. So it means to turn the thought,

and in that what the devil did to Eve turn the thought through

deception because of what she heard him say.

So he turned the thought. It means to direct the mind to a

thing to consider, to contemplate, to look at, to

weigh, say, weigh. So when he tells me to take

heed, he's also saying you need to weigh this thing.

What are we going to weigh this thing towards?

Or another word is judge it. So he's telling us that what we

hear, we better weigh, we better discern, we better judge.

And what are we judging it to the word?

What are we weighing it to the word?

I don't know about that because I'm hearing something that I

don't think lines up with the word.

I've weighed it. I've I've actually weighed it

towards the word and it don't line up what you're saying.

So you know what? I'm going to take heed what I'm

hearing. I'm going to beware and I'm

going to eradicate that out of my ears.

I'm going to clean my ears out. Sometimes you need that deep

clean in your ears. You know, they pour that the

candle and all this stuff wax anyway.

So he's saying to carefully examine.

It also means so to weigh, to judge, to carefully examine.

This is what that word take heed means to what you're hearing and

it's a warning. It's saying listen, don't listen

to everything you're hearing. Don't take it.

I'd like to say hook, line and sinker, No, It needs to be

weighed. It needs to be examined.

It needs to be judged. And the thing that I'm going to

weigh it and judge it towards is the word of God, the word of

God. And if it don't line up with the

word, it ain't right and it ain't coming in my ears.

It's not coming in my ears, OK. And So what this means is a

person that will take heed is wide awake because you do not

want to be a person that is heedless.

That's heedless. That means you just listen to

whatever and you take no thought in anything that you're hearing.

And you just let your ears be open to everything and you take

no thought to it. Do you know there's people that

sit in the in the churches that hear the word because this is

what we're going to get to and put no thought towards it.

They're heedless. And you know why they put no

thought or how you know, they don't put thought to it is

because their actions, their behaviors don't line up to what

they're hearing. It don't line up to what they're

hearing. And so therefore they have been

heedless. They've not heeded the word of

God. They've not right.

They've not judged it. They've not looked and, and,

and, and put themselves towards it.

They've not gotten understanding to it.

They've not contemplated it. They've not considered it.

Plenty of people just sit and let it go in what it What's this

term in one ear? And that's a thoughtless,

heedless person. And he's letting us know we

better take heed to what we're hearing.

We better consider what we're hearing.

We better contemplate what we're hearing.

We better discern what we're hearing.

Why should we discern it? So that we can make the

adjustments that are necessary. And that's how we know that we

have taken heed. That means I take heed to what

the Word is that's being spoken and I'm going to align myself up

with it. You see that?

Because I'm going to be awake and I am going to be a person

that's going to discern what the Spirit is saying, and I'm not

going to allow myself to just be open to anything that I'm

hearing. That's why we have to be careful

and we're going to see later on, which I'll do that anyway.

So let's go over to, I won't go there right now.

Let's go to Mark 4. Let's look at this.

Mark 4 though. I want you to see that was in

context. Actually, Mark 4IN context is

talking about the parable of the sower, the seed of the seed of

the word that's being sown into the heart.

And you know there was different, you know, soils of

the heart that the seed was being sown in.

And so that's a whole nother lesson.

But what I want you to see here is when you go up to mark 11411

through 12, it says this. And he said unto them, unto you,

it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.

Here he was teaching the disciples about the parable of

the seed. And he's saying you've been

given the mystery. I'm allowing you to hear it,

perceive it, discern it, and grab hold of it.

I'm allowing you to do that because then he goes on and you

look, what does he say? He says, I'm giving you the

mystery of the Kingdom of God. It says, but unto them that are

without, all these things are done in parables, seeing that

they may see and not perceive, and hearing that they may not

hear and understand. Do you see what he's talking

about here? This is where he's talking about

being able to perceive, being able to discern, being taken

heed need of what is being said. And he's saying listen, lest

anytime they should be converted and their sins should be

forgiven. So he says and hearing, they may

hear, but he's saying listen. But you've been granted this

mystery. You've been granted the fact

that you get to discern what the Scripture is saying.

And do you know every one of us as a believer, because of the

Holy Ghost that's living on the inside of us now, get to discern

His Word when we hear it. And we get to be able to put it

in, in activation within our life.

If we will take heed to it, if we will see what the Scripture

is saying, if we'll ask for understanding and discernment,

all of these things, when we hear the Word, that should be

part of our participation and what it is that we're hearing,

because that means we're taking heed.

We're giving our ear, so to speak, to the Word.

We're taking heed. We're we're going to understand

it, we're going to perceive it, we're going to contemplate it.

We're going to spend time meditating on it.

We're going to receive it in our ear.

And you know what? We can put within our ears as

much word as we want. Nobody's stopping you.

So that goes back to that measure.

How much do you want? And this you're going to see is

important in a, in a few more scriptures that we read.

So this is what he's saying. A, a heedless person gives no

thought to what they're hearing. I don't ever want to sit in this

seat and sit up underneath God's word and give no thought to what

it is that he is saying through his word.

I don't want to be a heedless person.

We need to be honoring the word of God that's feeding our

spirit, right, so that we can walk in the things that He has

promised us to walk into. Now look at Luke 8 and 18 out of

the amplified. So here it is another word that

He lets us know about taking heed, He says.

So be careful how you listen. So now he's talking about how

you're listening, how your ears are being attentive to what is

being said. Do you know he cares about how

you're listening to His word? Are you listening to His word

to, you know, come against it like the Pharisees and the

religious people were? Are you listening to the word to

justify your behaviors? Are you listening to the word

because you want to grow, because you want to discern,

because you want to understand, because you want the word to,

you know, change your life. And so he says this.

So be careful how you listen for whoever has a what a teachable

heart. So your heart is connected to

your ears. So we could do the what's that

song? The hair bone, your ear bone?

What's that song? I don't know how it goes but

y'all know what I'm talking about.

So he's letting us know that our ears are connected here to what?

Our heart, because He's letting us know.

Be careful how you listen. For whoever has a teachable

heart to him, more understanding will come.

If you don't have a teachable heart, guess what?

He's not obligated to give you more.

If you're not teachable and you're not even hearing what

he's already said and doing what he's already said today, or not

today but every day to do in your life, then guess what?

He's not obligated to give you more.

He's not. And maybe you sit and you're

hearing the word and thinking, I've seen no change in my life.

Well, maybe you need to go back to the last word you actually

heard and submitted to because it has to do with being

teachable, has to do with being teachable.

But our ears are connected to our heart.

Our ears are connected to our heart.

It says to him, more understanding will be given.

And whoever does not have a listen to this.

A longing for the truth. Whoever does not have a longing

for the truth. A desire, a hunger.

Those who hunger and thirst, see there it goes back to this.

So it's also connected to your stomach, right?

Whoever's hungry for the word, whoever desires the word,

whoever longs for truth. Do you long for truth more than

you long for listening to the lies that the world perpetuates?

Because the devil is the God of this world and he is nothing but

a liar. So do you long for truth?

That ought to be the desire and the hunger and the passion that

we had. We want to be people that desire

and long for truth. Not for fables Scripture talks

about, not for foolish reasonings.

But do you long for truth? Truth in the midst of your

heart. And he goes on to say even what

he thinks he has will be taken away from him.

So if you don't desire the truth, guess what?

He's not going to give it to you.

And in what you do have can be taken away.

Isn't that what the scripture says?

I didn't say that. The scripture said it.

It can be taken away to where you get caught up into so many

lies in your life because you've actually rejected truth that you

can just buy the lies and get so caught up in lies of the enemy.

It be taken from you because you don't want truth, you don't long

for truth, you don't desire truth.

You've actually rejected truth. That's a that's, that's what's

so awesome about our God is he lets us know of the things that

we could fall into danger with. I'm glad there's a big danger

sign out here that says danger, take heed.

If you don't do these things as a believer, it's not guaranteed

that you can't fall into the lies.

And we know in the last days, many are going to fall away from

the truth. Fall away from the what?

The truth because they got caught up in the lives, they

rejected truth, they didn't hunger for it, they didn't

desire it any longer. And So what little bit of truth

they did had, it was taken away. And now they're completely

deceived. And this is how people are going

to fall away from the truth because they're going to get

caught up in the deceitfulness of lies.

Now look again, you know, in First Timothy chapter 4, this is

good guys. Y'all want me to laugh?

I don't know, tell a funny joke, You know, really, I don't have

anything funny to say. I actually feel like crying.

But at the anointing upon my life is what I walk by.

The anointing upon my life is what I walk by.

And I walk by faith. And I don't walk by sight.

And I live by faith and I don't live by how I feel and what come

on, what's going on in my life? Because I could give you a list,

but I would spare you. OK.

So anyway, in First Timothy chapter 4, that makes me laugh.

1 Timothy 4 · chapter mention

Hallelujah chapter 4 and verses one through 2 says this, but the

Holy Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in

the latter time some will turn away from the faith, paying

attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and

doctrines of demons misled by hypocrisy of liars.

Hypocrisy of liars who consciences are what seared as

with a branding iron, leaving them incapable of ethical what

functioning. I'm telling you, we need to take

heed what we're hearing in these days and in this hours that we

are living so that we are not going to be one that rejects

truth and walks away from it because we are caught up in

listening to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons and

being led by hypocrisy of liars. And so he goes on to say, you

know, and pastor, you know, we, we use this scripture for the

past two year or the year before last about the reigning spirit.

And he came up out of this Scripture multiple times last

year. And so the reason why I bring

this up is because if you go on down to first Timothy chapter 4

1 Timothy 4 · chapter mention

and verse 16, let's go there, it says again in the King James

Version, take heed unto thyself. So here he's telling us, take

heed to what you hear in Mark 4. And now he's telling us, you

need to take heed to yourself. You need to take heed to

yourself here, and you need to says this and unto the doctrine.

So take heed to yourself, but then also unto the doctrine

which we know. He's talking to Timothy, who was

a minister, but obviously he's saying it to us as believers as

well. Take heed to ourselves and unto

the doctrine. Why is this doctrine so

important? Because this doctrine is truth

unto doctrine. When you say doctrine, it's

truth of God's word unto the truth.

Continue, Say, continue, continue in them.

That means that we cannot continue in the doctrine or in

the truth. Why?

Because we take heed to seducing spirits, doctrines of demons,

the hypocrisy of liars, that seducing spirit, that lying

spirit, and it will get us off. Just like it got Eve off of the

truth. She had the truth God himself

spoke right and she had it. So he's saying, listen, you need

to be you need to take heed yourself and you need to stay

with truth and you need to what? Continue in it, For in doing

this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear, then

thee that hear thee. See that it goes back to the

hearing. What is it that you are saying?

What are people hearing from your life of faith?

What's your doctrine that you're spreading?

See that saying, Listen, take heed to yourself, take heed to

the Word and you best continue in it so that you'll be saved

yourself and those who hear it, those who hear it now look over

in the amplified at this Scripture, First Timothy chapter

1 Timothy 4 · chapter mention

4 and verse 16. Here we see another word they

use in the amplified that continues to reiterate what this

word take heed means. Pay close attention to yourself.

You know, I thought I was only going to give have like 7

scriptures that I was seeing that talked about taking heed,

but I found 28. That's why we're going to do a

few more Wednesdays. There was 28 scriptures that

talked about taking heed. I thought only 7, but it was 28.

OK. So anyway, he says, listen, pay

out of the amplified, pay close attention to yourself.

Why are you worrying about everybody else and their and and

what's going on in their lives? You need to worry about

yourself. I mean, I had to tell my kids

that in school and growing up and and you know, people you

work with and I what you, I don't care what they're doing.

You shouldn't care what they're doing.

You better take care of your own self, mind your own business.

Take care of yourself. Pay attention to yourself.

What are you doing? Why you worrying about everybody

else? Pay attention to what you're

doing, pay attention to yourself and what are you doing in the

midst of all of these things? So he's saying, listen, you

better pay close attention to yourself.

Concentrate on your personal development.

I don't care where this persons at, I personally going to

develop in truth. I'm personally going to take

heed what I'm hearing. I'm personally going to be one

that is going to live this thing out.

I'm going to hear what the Spirit is saying.

I'm going to hear what the Word is saying.

I'm going to discern properly what's happening because I'm

actually going to take personal responsibility for my life.

I'm not responsible for everyone else, you see that?

I'm responsible to take heed what I'm hearing and then to

live it out properly. But I'm not to take on everybody

else and what they're doing and what they're not doing and blah,

blah, blah. Because I'm going to tell you,

you will be ran ragged worrying about everybody else and what

they're supposed to be doing and what they're not doing.

And why are they? Who cares?

Do you, right? Do you?

So he goes on for your own personal development and to your

teaching. Persevere in these things where

he says continue in them. He's saying, listen, you're

going to have to persevere in the truth in the word.

You're going to have to persevere in it, in these

things. You're going to have to be the

one to hold on to them. The things that you've heard,

the things that you've been taught, the truth of God's Word

that you've been built your life upon, because we're going to

talk about this, you need to hold on to Him.

It says, for as you do this, you will ensure salvation both for

yourself and for those who hear you.

Amen. So the Scripture clearly says,

listen, we are to take heed to ourselves.

Ephesians chapter 4/11/15 says this.

Ephesians 4 · chapter mention

And he gave some apostles and prophets and evangelists and

pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the Saints, for

the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of

Christ, until we all come to the unity of faith, the knowledge of

the Son of God. Unto what a perfect man This is

that development. This is you personally allowing

yourself to develop right to the measure and the stature of the

fullness of Christ that we henceforth.

This is why truth and the doctrine that you stand upon is

so important, that you will no longer be a child tossed to and

fro, carried about by every wave of doctrine right, every wind

and sleight of men. Listen to what it says and

cunning craftiness. This is that seducing lying

spirit, cunning trying to get you off.

It says whereby they lie to wait to deceive, trying to get you

off, waiting to just get to you so that he can deceive you, to

get you off of what you know. Truth is what you know.

The word of God says it's black and white.

There's no middle ground. You either see it and read it

and do it or you don't. There's no middle ground in

there. Very clear.

You know what's so good about AI that I found?

If you say AII did this, I have done this multiple times.

Now that I've learned this whole AI thing, tell me what Matthew

14 Seven means and it will clearly stay state exactly what

the scripture means. I have not found one time that

it has misrepresented what the word said straight up straight

on. You know why?

Because it only takes from the Scripture, not traditions of

men, not religious doctrines of men.

It only bases it strictly from what the word says.

Straight up black and white. When you read this chapter, this

is what it means for what it is for what's it saying?

You know, that's how I've always read the word black and white.

I see it in the word it says. I'm not supposed to do that.

Guess what? I'm not going to do it.

Oh, that's really easy. It's not difficult.

It's not difficult. It's black and white.

Oh, the word says I should forgive.

We're going to see. I should take heed.

And being able to forgive people, oh, I'm going to forgive

them. Easy as that.

Black and white, very clear. You don't have to have a a

theological degree to figure that out.

You don't have to have all of your hermeneutics and hominetics

and the pathetics and all these things.

Seriously, you just read the word and do what it says and

guess what? You'll have life.

You'll live according to the word.

It's that easy and AI gets it. AI gets it.

We complicate it. We complicate it with our own

desires, with our own thinking, with our own reasoning.

We complicate it when it's straight up black and white and

easy. Hallelujah.

Thank God. Thank God that we do not have to

be deceived if we would just do what the Word says.

Look at verse 15. But speaking the truth in love

that you may grow up into all things, which is the head, even

Christ. So the goal is, is that we are

mature enough by growing and developing and taking heed to

what the word of God has said in truth so that we're not going to

get carried away by lies, by lies, by a lying spirit, a

seducing spirit. And you know what a seducing

spirit does? It always keeps it in ambiguity,

suspicious. You can never know how it just

you know it's how it is. So let's look on what he says

here. The next thing we read and then

we'll close. I know it's getting tight, but

it's right. First Corinthians who praise the

Lord chapter 3 verses 10. Now remember I, this has been

brewing since long time ago, OK, First Corinthians chapter 3 and

1 Corinthians 3 · chapter mention

verse 10 says this. According to the grace of God,

which is given unto me as a wise master builder, I have laid the

foundation. What's the foundation?

The word of God, the doctrine, the things that we were talking

about, and another build is there on.

But let every man what? Take heed.

Now what is your responsibility as a man and a woman of God?

You are to take heed how He buildeth there upon.

You're to take heed of what you're allowing to be built

within your life. You're the master builder as

well. He's the master builder, but you

also are a master builder because you're up underneath the

master. And what is it that you're

building on in your life? What's your house built of?

Are you built on lies? Are you built on your truth?

Are you built on? Come on, your traditions?

Are you built on your religious experiences?

Or are you built on the word of God?

Are you built on your family DNA?

Come on. No, we are to be built upon the

word of God. That is got to be, has to be,

has to be our foundation. And it's so important that we

recognize this because we're seeing believers fall off their

rockers, OK, because they have not built properly.

They've not built property properly.

You know, when the Word of God comes, we've taught this before,

It's either going to form a new belief within your life or it's

going to strengthen a belief within your life.

OK, we've taught this before. So when the Word of God comes

and you actually take heed of it and begin to practice it and do

it, then you're building a foundation within your life,

right? You're building that in your

life. And so maybe you had never heard

that it's God's will for you to be healed, but you find out it

is absolutely God's will for healing to be a part of my life

in Christ, right? And so every time you hear a

healing scripture, guess what it's doing?

It's building another layer in the bedrock of your foundation,

right, Building upon the foundation.

Have you ever looked at the Grand Canyon and and you know

that's billions and billions if years old and you know, you can

see all the what is that called? Those lines, those layers, what

are they called? Anybody knows sediment?

That's but those lines are called something that you can

see and this is how they know how many years it is and how

old. Same with the tree trunk.

If you cut it, you can see the different rings in it tells you

how old it is. This is what's happening to us

as believers. It should be when we've been

sitting up underneath the word for years and we've actually

took it in and heated it. All those things that we've been

doing is building those layers upon layers upon layers.

So that why so that you have an arsenal of a belief system here

that when something comes, it's not going to rock your world,

It's not going to knock you off your foundation.

It's not going to knock you off your rocker, so to speak,

because your, your life has been built.

It's been built. And we know we can see that in

scripture because you know, he talked about that in Matthew

Matthew 7 · chapter mention

Chapter 7. Go over there.

Matthew Chapter 7 in verse 24 through 27 says this.

Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and do

with them, that's the key. Because just hearing alone, we

know what James says. What happens?

You deceive yourself. So many people sit and they

hear. They don't take heed, and He

lets us know this one that does. It will be likened unto Him, a

wise man which built his house upon a rock, and when the rain

descended and the floods came, because they will.

No one is exempt from the floods, the rain, the wind, and

the storms of life. No one, we all walk, are

supposed to walk through them and come out on the other side.

And so he says if your house has been built properly upon the

rock, that when these rains come and these floods come and the

winds blew and they build upon the house and it fell, what not?

Your house should not be falling apart.

Your marriage shouldn't be falling apart.

Your children shouldn't be falling apart.

Come on. Your finances shouldn't be

filling, falling apart. Listen, attacks are going to

come. Attacks are one thing.

But if you're living in that, you have not built the structure

properly. If you are living in it year

after year after year, you've deceived yourself.

And I'm afraid there's many that are deceived.

You've not been a doer of the word.

You have not been a person of faith.

And that's just reality. And we have to listen in these

last days. We have to take heed some of

these things. We have to take heed some of it

because I don't want to see people dropping like flies.

And so verse 25 says this. And everyone that hears these

sayings of mine and do with them not, will be likened unto a

foolish man. And you know what he says about

fools in the Scripture. We've been reading it time after

time, all year long through Proverbs.

Haven't we likened unto a foolish man where we at verse

426? And he said, And everyone that

here at these sayings of mine does not do them, shall be

likened to the foolish man which built his house upon the sand.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew

and beat upon the house, and it fell, and listened to how it

fell. It didn't just fall, great was

its fall, didn't just fall, it was a great fall.

You see that now? You know, I was thinking of, you

know, I live out off of A1A and I just read an article which I

drive by these houses every day. There's about 7 houses that have

been condemned now along A1A, going out towards marine land.

On the left hand side where the ocean is, there's seven houses

that you can't even get to anymore.

The old A1A used to run along there and they built the houses

there. Well, they built wrong, didn't

they? They're all condemned, just

standing there. Big, old, huge houses just

there, just rotten away because they didn't build wisely.

And we need to recognize, have we really built our lives

wisely, our lives wisely on the right foundation and the word of
