  1. All right, turn over to John chapter 16, verse 33.

    John 16:33

  2. And as you're turning, I just want you to take a deep breath

  3. through your nostrils. Go like this.

  4. All right? Let it out.

  5. Let's do it again. Deep breath in.

  6. Let it out. I should have the chiropractor

  7. come up do this because he sounds so much better.

  8. Every time he pops me, he says breathe in, hold it.

  9. And then he cracks me, right. And then the next time he says

  10. breathe in now let it out. And you, you don't know when

  11. he's going to do it, but when you get somewhere to the end.

  12. Wow, there it is. And so take another deep breath

  13. in, all right? You know what you're smelling.

  14. It's victory. That's the smell of victory.

  15. All right, so we're going to talk about that tonight, John,

    John 16:33

  16. Chapter 16, verse 33. You know what?

  17. The Amplified Classic says it this way.

  18. I have told you these things so that in me you may have perfect

  19. peace and confidence. I can stop there and preach the

  20. rest of the night, but I won't. In the world you have what?

  21. Tribulations and trials and distresses and frustrations.

  22. But be of what that means. Don't go to work and and being

  23. sad and disgruntled like everybody else.

  24. All right, you when you go to work here to be of what good

  25. cheer and it doesn't matter that there are tribulations, trials,

  26. distresses and frustration when you show up, people are should

  27. be saying why are you so happy all the time?

  28. Why you have such a a peaceful disposition?

  29. How come it is when you walk in the room and all that's going

  30. on, you act different. That's what we're supposed to

  31. right? For those that are born of God,

  32. he says be of good cheer, take courage, be confident, certain,

  33. undaunted. I like that, which means you

  34. understand the victory we walk in is certain.

  35. That means we are undaunted by the things that are going on in

  36. the world that are going on in in the lives of unbelievers that

  37. are in a domain that God really wants them to come out of right.

  38. And so he says be take courage, be confident, certain,

  39. undaunted. For Jesus says this.

  40. He says I have overcome the world.

  41. Look what he says here, the amplified classic.

  42. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it

  43. for you. Can I get an Amen?

  44. That's good stuff right there. Now, that doesn't mean Jesus is

  45. not saying when you're in this world that is not in its

  46. original state, He is not saying you're not going to have

  47. challenges the minute you get born again is not the red carpet

  48. and all of a sudden nothing comes around you.

  49. No, it still can come around you.

  50. In fact, a lot of times when it comes, it is like the valley of

  51. the shadow of but it's a valley and it's a shadow.

  52. And if you'll stay with the Lord, you'll go through it

  53. because his rod and his staff comfort you and you'll get on

  54. the other side because ultimately death cannot take you

  55. when you stay in steps with the Lord.

  56. All right. And so here he's saying, listen,

  57. I know you're going to have challenges because this world

  58. doesn't look like what Dad intended in the beginning.

  59. Now we know in Genesis chapter 1, God created the heavens and

    Genesis 1 chapter mention

  60. the earth and man, this planet at one time recorded in our

  61. Bible, was an amazing place. It was God, Adam and Eve in the

  62. garden, no sin planet earth was amazing.

  63. And God said in in Genesis 126, he said, let us make man in our

  64. image according to our likeness and let him have what dominion

  65. or rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky,

  66. over all the earth, over every creepy theme that creeps on the

  67. earth and over all the cattle, right.

  68. And so man was to have dominion. In essence, man was to rule in

  69. this realm as God rules in the heaven realm under his

  70. authority, and he had that rulership.

  71. That was amazing. That was our design, which means

  72. everything we did was victorious because God the Father has never

  73. lost a battle. He's never been defeated.

  74. He's never been conquered even when one of his created anointed

  75. cherubs tried to tried to overthrow his throne in heaven,

  76. he cast him out. In fact Jesus accounts the

  77. recounts this in Matthew. I believe it's chapter 10 when

  78. he said I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

  79. That's how fast that rebellion was dismissed from his realm

  80. when he took the time to try to deceive other angelic beings to

  81. come in and rebel against the crown of heaven, God and his

  82. authority, which is final. Cast him out at a word.

  83. I said at a word and cast him down.

  84. Now obviously we know in Genesis 3 that this, you know, anointed

  85. cherub now comes in looking like a serpent and he begins to have

  86. the humans that are in the dominion that God gave them and

  87. he they're in his likeness to question the God that created

  88. them. And so he asked some question.

  89. He said, Hey, he said, can you eat any fruit from the tree?

  90. And you know, they Eve corrected him and said, no, we can eat

  91. from any tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of

  92. good and evil. We shall not eat for the day we

  93. eat, we will what? Die.

  94. Now, die doesn't mean just physical death.

  95. What it means is separation. Death just means separation.

  96. You know, us in the natural, we think, oh, someone passed away.

  97. You know, Apostle Marcy's father passed away, and now we do not

  98. see him on the earth. But really, he's just been

  99. separated from us. His spirit and soul is separated

  100. from his body now. OK, I actually still have his

  101. body at the house. We're going to do a ceremony

  102. later on. I had to get all the family and

  103. then we're going to, you know, now not his whole body, OK?

  104. His ashes. That's that would be morbid.

  105. OK, Just do you want to clearly explain that we have his ashes

  106. by which when you know, her brother quits traveling and you

  107. know other loved ones can come in in November, we're going to

  108. do a ceremony for him, OK. But even though I have his

  109. ashes, he's not there. He's separated.

  110. That's death, separation. OK, Now when God says to Adam,

  111. you know Adam, you can eat from any tree of the garden, but of

  112. the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not

  113. eat, for the day you eat you will.

  114. Surely that just means you'll become separated from me because

  115. the minute you do things that are contrary to God's worth,

  116. that is death. I said that's death.

  117. God is life, and to do things opposite of of his word is

  118. death. Now God gives you the choice.

  119. Why? Because he wants you to love

  120. him, because you want to love him.

  121. He doesn't make you do what he says, but to not do what he says

  122. is death. And so you know, here Adam and

  123. Eve are in the garden in this anointed cherub who's been cast

  124. out of heaven, tried to rebel. God's never lost, He's never

  125. been conquered. He's always victorious, cast him

  126. down and he's already given his son Adam a word.

  127. He said, Adam, eat from any tree, but not this one.

  128. So that's enough for him to conquer this enemy who has come

  129. into the garden. He did not have to come down and

  130. say, Adam, hey, Adam, listen, I just want you to know there was

  131. a guy that I created in heaven. And, you know, he just didn't

  132. sit right, had some problems, some issues, right?

  133. He had some mental health stuff. And I'm not making fun of that.

  134. But you know, he was not thinking, right?

  135. And as a result of that, he rebelled and I kicked him out

  136. because I'm victorious. You cannot overcome me.

  137. I am life. And he became what death is.

  138. So you need to be on watch for him.

  139. He didn't have to do that. He already gave him a word.

  140. Do you not eat the fruit? So really what Adam should have

  141. done when this whole thing occurred is he should have

  142. walked up to that serpent and says, listen, I don't know why

  143. you're talking to my wife, but the things you're saying to her

  144. are contrary to what my father has said.

  145. You know, he created me and he gave me all this, you know, and

  146. the reality is what you're saying is contrary to him, and

  147. I'm not going to have a part of that.

  148. So you need to shut up and get out.

  149. And he had the authority to do that because he had authority

  150. over all the animals. Are you hearing me?

  151. But unfortunately, he listened, he entertained, he himself

  152. decided, because we say this here, often the most dangerous

  153. word in a Kingdom is independence.

  154. And so all of a sudden, you know, Adam wanted to be

  155. independent of God, which then led him into rebellion.

  156. His wife eats, then he eats and sin enters the world.

  157. And this is what we all call the fall.

  158. And for anyone who's been to church, you know that the all of

  159. us have fallen and fallen short of the glory of God.

  160. It is now sin in the earth, which means the planet we're in

  161. today is still the same planet he created, but the way it

  162. functions is not how God designed it.

  163. So again, when Jesus says you're going to have trials and

  164. tribulations in this world, he's really not even saying planet

  165. earth. What are you saying here?

  166. Again, this is that Greek word which means systems within the

  167. earth according to the systems that are in operation.

  168. Because again, you know as well as I do that Luke chapter 4 in

    Luke 4 chapter mention

  169. the temptation of Christ, when Jesus was tempted of the devil

  170. and he took him to a high pinnacle and showed him all the

  171. kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

  172. And he said all these kingdoms, I'll give you if you'll just bow

  173. down and worship me. Because the devil knows the

  174. Bible's about a king, his Kingdom and his royal offspring,

  175. right? And so as a result of that, he

  176. says for this domain, this dominion has been handed over to

  177. me, and we know he received that from Adam.

  178. So the devil is called the God of this world according to

  179. Second Corinthians 44, and he is using all the systems.

  180. So in order for you to get out of those systems, you have to

  181. become born again. That way you can see into those

  182. systems that are corrupt, but you can live parallel to those

  183. systems in a different system called the Kingdom of God and be

  184. righteous. Do you understand we can we can

  185. align ourselves in the in education, in government, in

  186. business that follow Kingdom principles in this earth that's

  187. not of the world. We can do things according to

  188. the Scripture and the Kingdom of heaven because the Father said,

  189. hey, when you pray, pray this way, our Father who art in

  190. heaven, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom, your will be on as

  191. it is. So his will in heaven can happen

  192. on the earth. And So what do we do?

  193. We hear his word, we act on that word, whether it's in education,

  194. government, business, family, every sector of society.

  195. And when we do that, then we are in a world we're not of because

  196. we actually function from a different world.

  197. So Jesus says, now in this world that's not mine, you're going to

  198. have tribulation, but be of good cheer, this trouble out there

  199. and all these sectors of society, I'll overcome.

  200. This is why you're not subject to those ungodly pathways of

  201. sectors of society, because you're in a Kingdom.

  202. You've been transferred out of the domain of darkness and

  203. transferred into the Kingdom of his beloved Son.

  204. So we have victory in all accounts and so the enemy has

  205. created things in the earth because he has dominion in the

  206. domain of darkness and he manipulates and deceives people

  207. to function because you and I all know that while we were

  208. sinners, Christ died and we've all been separated from God and

  209. lived lives that were like man, it were bankrupt.

  210. It didn't work. I was trying some of us even

  211. trying to get to God through through the things of the world

  212. and realize it's just not going to happen.

  213. But God, come on, but God, all right, So John first, John 5,

  214. four and five says this. For whatever is born of God, are

  215. you born of God? For whatever is born of God, are

  216. you born of God? OK, overcomes the world.

  217. Are the systems of the world same thing?

  218. It's not Earth because God still loves planet Earth.

  219. I mean, if you get to the back of the book of Revelations, we

  220. know there'll be a new heaven and a new right.

  221. So again, God is not finished with planet earth.

  222. He's going to revitalize it. He'll burn it with fire and then

  223. there'll be a new earth. Hallelujah.

  224. OK, and then new heaven. So whatever is born of God

  225. overcomes the world or the systems, and this is the victory

  226. that overcomes the world. Our faith, faith comes by

  227. hearing and hearing from the word of God or the word of

  228. Christ or the word of the King. And so when we hear from Jesus,

  229. who was Lord of all, and we apply that word firmly,

  230. persuaded that what our king says is going to take place,

  231. then we overcome the systems of the world, Hallelujah.

  232. And we're not subject to them like the rest of those who are

  233. in the world. Again, what did Jesus say?

  234. He said, Lord, don't take them out of the planet, right?

  235. He said they're in the world, but they're not of the world.

  236. We're not of the world because we're born again.

  237. We are children of God. So this is the victory or

  238. whatever is born of God overcomes the world.

  239. And what overcomes the world is our faith.

  240. Verse 5, Who is the one who overcomes the world?

  241. But he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God, do you

  242. believe he's the Son of God? Come on, is he Lord of your

  243. life? Hallelujah.

  244. So we need to understand this, and we've said this before,

  245. faith in God is not for self preservation but for self

  246. revelation. Because the minute I became a

  247. child of God, God's spirit came and lived on the inside of me.

  248. He bears witness now with this new spirit that I am.

  249. The Bible says that I'm a new creature in Christ.

  250. That spirit that was dead, did not know God, could not get to

  251. God, no matter how much it tried to, it was always in rebellion

  252. to God. It was taken out of this skin

  253. suit. A new spirit was placed in me in

  254. the likeness of God and the Holy Ghost now bears witness with my

  255. spirit. I am a what child of God, which

  256. means I'm no longer a Sinner saved by grace.

  257. I was a Sinner. I'm saved by grace.

  258. Now I'm a believer, a child of God and have access to him by

  259. his Holy Spirit. Glory to God, that is awesome.

  260. So the Holy Spirit now one of his assignment is to teach me

  261. who I am. Now in Christ.

  262. He gives me this new identity. He said, now this is who you

  263. are. Now and again on Sunday we refer

  264. to this. If you weren't here Sunday, I

  265. encourage you to go online and listen to the message focus

  266. because as a believer, I do not focus on what the Scripture

  267. calls the old man. I focus on the new man because

  268. the new man is anointed by the Spirit of God.

  269. The old man will separate it from God.

  270. So I don't do the deeds of the old man because I'm not subject

  271. to that old man anymore. He has left me in the Spirit,

  272. but in the realm of the being born again.

  273. I'm a new creature in Christ now.

  274. I'm a new man. And now I'm, I subject myself to

  275. the voice of God, 'cause now I can hear God.

  276. And as a result of that I can live an anointed life above and

  277. beyond and out of the things of this world, the things that pull

  278. us down and can put us in, in death and destruction.

  279. So faith in God is not about where are you going to go when

  280. you die? Jesus never preached it that

  281. way. It was never to be pushed as the

  282. gospel. Where are you going to go when

  283. you die? Because all religions preach

  284. that Jesus is was. You need to know why you were

  285. originally made. And because of what I'll do, I

  286. can get you back there. Hallelujah.

  287. So again, salvation is not about destination.

  288. Salvation is about destiny. It's about identity.

  289. It's about being who you are now while you're in the earth

  290. because yes, there is another place to be.

  291. There is a present with the Lord for sure.

  292. There is a lifetime with Christ. But yet God did not leave us

  293. down here, broke, disgusted, barely getting along and just

  294. hanging on till we could get to heaven when we die.

  295. No, we have the life of God in us.

  296. We're different species of being now and we acknowledge it

  297. because Christ is our Lord. So faith is not about self self

  298. preservation, but but for self revelation.

  299. I'm always discovering who I am in Christ and what God, what

  300. Christ is the price He paid for me so that I could live out of

  301. victorious life for Him in the earth.

  302. Faith also is not a coping mechanism but a conquering

  303. mechanism. You know, we're not in the

  304. church 'cause we're just trying to cope with life.

  305. You know, life's so tough. I just go to church to just

  306. cope. It's not a coping mechanism.

  307. It's a conquering. We conquer, we overcome.

  308. And again, it's not us, but it's Christ in us, the life we now

  309. live, not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, overcome because

  310. Jesus, when he was on the planet, he was not conquered.

  311. He was never destroyed. He willfully gave himself up

  312. because even when they took him to the cross, he had to say it's

  313. finished. Hallelujah.

  314. So He willfully let go of His spirit because the reality is he

  315. had never sinned. Sin brings death.

  316. Jesus had not sinned, and if the devil never would have messed

  317. with him, he'd still be on the planet today.

  318. However, he let go of His spirit and God took our position.

  319. He took on our wrongdoing. He paid the price of our

  320. penalty. What we could not do, He did.

  321. Hallelujah. Aren't you excited about that

  322. and thankful? So this faith that we have in

  323. God is not coping to get through till we, you know, die and get

  324. to heaven one day. It's about conquering now and

  325. then we have the hope of heaven later.

  326. Isn't that amazing? So cope just means to deal with

  327. an attempt to overcome problems and difficulties.

  328. Well, it's an attempt to, but you understand when you're in

  329. Christ, He says you will overcome.

  330. You are to be undaunted. You are to be certain, you are

  331. to be confident. And again, it's not a confidence

  332. in me. It's a confidence in the one who

  333. died for me, who left his word for me.

  334. That is, that is the authority of God that I can stand on.

  335. All right and so the passion translation says it this way you

  336. see every child of God overcomes the world for our faith is the

  337. victorious power that triumphs over the world.

  338. So who are the world conquerors defeating its power?

  339. Those who believe that Jesus is the son of God.

  340. So overcome means to conquer, Vanquish, subdue, prevail, to

  341. come off superior in a judicial cause to get the victory.

  342. We get the victory. Amen.

  343. So when trouble comes, no one's denying that there's issues

  344. factual, there's problems. But I take a step back through

  345. prayer in the reading of the Word and say, Lord, how do you

  346. want me to move forward in this situation?

  347. And when you get that word from God and then begin to speak His

  348. word, that word will come to pass in your life.

  349. I mean, anyone that's been in church for any time knowing the

  350. salvation comes through Christ, that if someone tonight stepped

  351. out and came down and said, I want to give my life to the

  352. Lord. I believe that he came and died

  353. on the cross and rose from the grave.

  354. I acknowledge him as the one that paid the price for my

  355. wrongdoing and I call him Lord, which is not a religious word

  356. that means supreme and authority.

  357. OK. And so I, I call him Lord of my

  358. life. I am going to be submitted to

  359. him and his way of living. I accept him.

  360. As my Lord, well, nobody here, although they'll leave with the

  361. same clothes on, have the same face, hair's going to be the

  362. same, OK, But all of us will say they're born again, even though

  363. we cannot see that old spirit leave and a new one come in and

  364. the Holy Ghost come in with him. We never see that, but we

  365. believe according to the word. That's what the word says.

  366. All who call on the name of the Lord will be so we rejoice with

  367. the angels, say well glory to God, they're saved.

  368. Hallelujah. Like water baptism on Sunday.

  369. We baptized 4 people. I believe it was those people

  370. made a profession of faith that Christ was Lord.

  371. I can't see that spirit inside them, but I said, have you

  372. called on Jesus? They said yes.

  373. I said according to your confession of faith, I baptize

  374. you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  375. We baptize them, Amen. And they're believers now,

  376. they're children of God, but they're outside suit looks the

  377. same, but we are related. But which means now that they

  378. are, they can conquer, they can subdue, they can prevail, and

  379. they can come off superior to any trial that happens in the

  380. earth. Hallelujah.

  381. Aren't you glad we've been given a great king?

  382. So Colossians 26 to 8. The good word translation says

  383. it this way or God's word, it says you received Jesus Christ

  384. the Lord. So continue to live in as Christ

  385. people, sink your roots in Him and build on Him.

  386. Be strengthened by the faith you that you were taught and

  387. overflow with Thanksgiving. Be careful not to let anyone rob

  388. you of this faith through a shallow and misleading

  389. philosophy. Such a person.

  390. Such a person follows human traditions and the world's ways.

  391. What world's way of doing things rather than following Christ?

  392. When you're born again, you have to make sure you do not allow

  393. yourself to go back into the way the world functioned, because we

  394. now can overcome the world's way.

  395. Prior to that, I could not. No matter how much you tried to

  396. stop things, you found yourself doing it right, you know, And

  397. then you tried to find peace and all kinds of things,

  398. relationships, substance, jobs, all kinds of stuff, right?

  399. Careers, education, whatever the case may be.

  400. But the reality is without Christ is always a dead end.

  401. You're faced with yourself. You can't get rid of the guilt

  402. and shame of different things you've done wrong.

  403. But in Christ you can do something.

  404. But now once you're born again, you have to stay focused there

  405. and not entertain things that are worldly in thought.

  406. OK, So what does the faith, what is our faith in God's Word looks

  407. like in the world now? This is really powerful.

  408. This is the passage I wanted to get to tonight.

  409. Second Corinthians chapter 2, verses 14 to 17.

    2 Corinthians 2:14–17

  410. I'm gonna read out the new American standard.

  411. It says it this way. But thanks be to God, who always

  412. leads us in triumph in Christ. You see that?

  413. But thanks be to God, who? What?

  414. How many times? Come on, how many times?

  415. How many times always leads us in triumph?

  416. Now, if you're not following, this may be the reason why

  417. you're not in victory. Triumphing in Christ comes by

  418. following. It's not because you are born

  419. again. Now being born again gives you

  420. the triumph over death, right? Eternal separation or damnation,

  421. or what is called the second death, the lake of fire.

  422. However, in this life, you have to allow the leading of the

  423. Spirit to cause you to overcome everything going on in the

  424. world, and that's through His leading.

  425. This is how you triumph in every situation.

  426. Because when things are telling you, it cannot be, when you have

  427. a word of God, the word of the King, you're like, no, this is

  428. what he said to me. I'm staying with it.

  429. And when you stay on it and allow that to lead you, then

  430. you're going to be triumphant in whatever it is you're standing

  431. and believing. But it goes on and says this and

  432. manifests through us. The sweet aroma you smell, the

  433. victory, the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

  434. Look at this verse 15. For we are a fragrance of Christ

  435. to God among those who are being saved and among those who are

  436. perishing. Oh man, this is good to the one,

  437. an aroma from death to death to another, an aroma from life to

  438. life. And who is adequate of these

  439. things? Verse 17, it says, For we are

  440. not like many peddling the word of God, but as from a sincerity,

  441. but as from God. We speak in Christ in the sight

  442. of God. Let me read this out of the

  443. Passion translation and then I'm going to make a few comments.

  444. God always makes His grace visible in Christ, who includes

  445. us as partners of His endless triumph through our yielded

  446. lives. He spreads the fragrance of the

  447. knowledge of God everywhere we go.

  448. In essence, when you're in Christ and staying connected to

  449. Christ, you're putting on the Kingdom.

  450. Cologne or perfume right now. I mean, I have some colognes

  451. that I like, you know, specifically.

  452. And you know, I've worn them enough that honestly, I only

  453. smell them when they're coming out of the bottle and hitting my

  454. clothes. Outside of that, I don't smell

  455. them. But every once in a while, I'll

  456. come across somebody that they'll catch a whiff of my

  457. fragrance and they'll say hi. I really like that Cologne.

  458. Right now. They like the Cologne, but you

  459. understand, I'm carrying another fragrance.

  460. Hallelujah. I remember my wife and I, we

  461. were walking in Charleston, WV in a mall cuz you know, we

  462. purchased this mall. So I was in another mall and it

  463. looked worse than our mall when we bought the mall, right?

  464. I mean it was like 3 stories and there are so many people not in

  465. that mall. I mean, you know, there's so

  466. many stores. And I was just, you know,

  467. dreaming a little bit. You know how I am.

  468. I'm like, you know, what could you do in this place right here,

  469. right. But my wife and I were holding

  470. hands walking. All of a sudden this lady came

  471. up. She goes, wow, you, you are such

  472. a beautiful couple. I mean, I know where now I'd

  473. like to think that I'm GQ, but you know, I know better than

  474. that and I know I'm married up. I understand that as well, but I

  475. sense my wife and I both says, you know what?

  476. It's the fragrance of God. It's the godliness about our

  477. lives that all of a sudden is radiating and developing A

  478. fragrance. And you know what?

  479. The word supports that thought. So let's go on and keep reading

  480. this passage of Scripture. It says this verse 15.

  481. For we have become the unmistakable aroma of the

  482. victory of the anointed one to God, a perfume of life to those

  483. being saved, and the odor of death to those who are

  484. perishing. The unbelievers smell a deadly

  485. stint that leads to death. But believer smell the life

  486. giving aroma that leads to abundant life.

  487. And who of us can rise to this challenge?

  488. Verse 17 says for unlike us so many, we are not peddlers of

  489. God's word who watered down the message.

  490. We are those sent from God with pure motives who speak in the

  491. sight of God from our union, union with Christ.

  492. When you are impurity really just want to serve God because

  493. you love him and that's all that matters.

  494. Well, then all of a sudden it carries an aroma, and to those

  495. that are outside this Kingdom, when they get around you, all of

  496. a sudden they smell not you, but them, that the stench of their

  497. life begins to come up. It reminds me of the testimony

  498. of the guy on the bus with Smith Wigglesworth when he was sitting

  499. there. And Smith Wigglesworth, you

  500. know, who was a powerful man of God, and God used him

  501. tremendously in miracles, signs and wonders.

  502. And he was just sitting on the bus there in England.

  503. And that guy got up to get out and he goes, your mere presence

  504. convicts me of my sin. Well, it was a fragrance because

  505. he was godly. He was smelling himself.

  506. Are you hearing me? It reminds me of another story

  507. when I say story, a life account.

  508. When my father, he owned a painting company and we were

  509. doing some hotel, a hotel. And so it was, you know, just

  510. doing some touch up work. They were at the point where

  511. some cleaning people were coming in to clean the windows and all

  512. this type of stuff. Well, you know, I was doing some

  513. touch up. I don't remember exactly

  514. painting or maybe I was puttying something.

  515. But regardless, there was an individual that showed up in the

  516. room. Now they had a lot of perfume

  517. on, but the perfume was on to try to disguise the body odor

  518. which made the combination gaggable.

  519. And you understand the world is trying to put on a form of

  520. godliness but are denying the power thereof.

  521. But when you come in with the true fragrance of God, 'cause

  522. you love him because He saved you, because He's changed you,

  523. because your lifestyle models the life of the king and this

  524. new life that you're in, well, all of a sudden those that are

  525. living subpar, that smell will come up in their lives.

  526. This is why some people that you get come to work or family

  527. members you know, or people you encounter at various places that

  528. you show up and you say a couple things and they are all of a

  529. sudden aggravated and agitated at you.

  530. And you're almost like, what did I do?

  531. You just walked in the room because for those that are

  532. dying, that stench of their own life starts to show up.

  533. Now the good news is if they would repent, it could be

  534. stripped. It would be stripped and it

  535. doesn't matter how much self religion and and and self

  536. righteousness that you try to put your clone and perfume on

  537. your smells there and God knows it.

  538. You're hearing what I'm saying. So you need to ask yourself, how

  539. do I smell when I go into a room?

  540. Because know this how you live for God, God knows.

  541. So God knows your smell. And do you have a smell of

  542. defeat and death or do you have the smell of victory?

  543. Come on, do you have the smell of victory, man?

  544. I'm going to have the smell of victory.

  545. I want to be able to come into a room, man, and the smell of

  546. victory. And again, that's why you're

  547. going to have adverse reactions from people who want to see you

  548. fail, who want to see you fall, who want to see you not be

  549. successful, who want to see you sick and stuck in the hospital,

  550. who want to see tragedies come to your life, who want to see

  551. you fire all those things. Why?

  552. Because they are jealous of the godliness that you are.

  553. But you are praying for them that they could come out.

  554. You're there to help liberate them.

  555. So again, what is it that we have triumphed over in Christ?

  556. Now, I'm going to give you a list that comes out of Galatians

  557. 5, Ephesians 5, and Philippians 2.

  558. All right, you can look these up for yourself.

  559. So I'm just doing some bullet points because you understand

  560. when you are born again, this is the victory that overcomes the

  561. world, our faith. And when we live according to

  562. the Word, then these are things we can triumph over.

  563. In essence, they no longer rule us or we're subject to them or

  564. we have to fall into them. We can resist them.

  565. Jesus was tempted on all accounts like we have been, yet

  566. without sin Now we've been recreated in His likeness.

  567. We have received His anointing with and when that occurs then

  568. we have the ability. That doesn't mean this list.

  569. You could not fail. You can, and if you did, God is

  570. merciful. You can repent.

  571. Ask God to forgive you and He'll treat it like you've never done

  572. it. But yet if you know going in

  573. that you know what, if this starts to come, you know what?

  574. I can just resist. I can resist.

  575. So here's the list. This is what you have triumphed

  576. over in Christ. You have triumphed over sexual

  577. immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after

  578. things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of

  579. those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentments

  580. when others are favored, temper tantrum, drug use, angry

  581. quarrels, jealousy, self promotion, selfless selfishness,

  582. pride filled opinions, being envious of the blessings of

  583. others, murder, uncontrolled addiction, wild party greed,

  584. idolatry and obscenities and worthly insults.

  585. Hallelujah. You know, in the political

  586. season, for those that are born of God, you know they really

  587. have to do a very. They have to gain access to

  588. their mouth because you can give some unworthy insults, they can

  589. give you an advantage right and you know our whole again, that's

  590. the way of the world. Bash this one to elevate

  591. yourself, but you understand the Kingdom.

  592. That's not how we do that. I said that's not how we do that

  593. and and essence if we would follow the kingdom's way of

  594. doing it. The Bible says he who humbles

  595. himself will be oh man. And I'm telling you, if we

  596. follow his plan, then you can get into promotions that you

  597. never would have gotten into if you just try to do it the

  598. world's way, you know, talking about the other employee and and

  599. saying things about them, you know, to try to make you look

  600. better. Now, I'm not saying you don't

  601. have an honest report about someone's performance.

  602. No one is saying that. If you were, you know, in HR and

  603. you're evaluating someone and they're not performing, you're

  604. being honest, but you would also give a corrective action.

  605. And you know what, it's not wrong for you to say, you know

  606. what, you're not fitting the organization and we're going to

  607. have to let you go. And that's honesty.

  608. That doesn't mean you're trying to get above them.

  609. They didn't perform on their own free will.

  610. But if you're doing it so that you could take their position,

  611. are you hearing what I'm saying? Because again, these things that

  612. we say we are, you know, you can identify them in some of them as

  613. actions. Again, murders, pretty easy to

  614. see. However, remember what Jesus

  615. said. Jesus said, you've heard the

  616. ancients say are those of the past that came from my father in

  617. his writings, thou shalt not commit adultery.

  618. But I say unto you, if you've lusted after a woman in your own

  619. heart, you've committed that sin, which tells me you can.

  620. You may be faithful to your spouse physically, but

  621. emotionally you're already in an adulterous affair.

  622. And if God's looking at it, that's how he looks at it.

  623. So we may not always be able to identify a person's heart motive

  624. of why they're doing something, but God does.

  625. I said God does. And the good thing about being

  626. in Christ is God will speak to us and say, why are you doing

  627. that? Give you a check so that then

  628. you can lead the way. God would want you and you keep

  629. your smell of victory. Amen.

  630. Because let me tell you, nobody can take what God has ordained

  631. for you. Whatever door he opens, no man

  632. can shut, and whatever door he shuts, no man can open.

  633. So you're not threatened by anyone.

  634. You're not in competition with anyone.

  635. God designed you to do something specific for Him and His church,

  636. and when you follow Him, you can get any place He needs you to

  637. be. Hallelujah.

  638. So aren't you glad that you had the victory over these things?

  639. So this whole list, Paul finishes up and says it this

  640. way. Haven't I already warned you

  641. that those who use their freedom?

  642. So again, he's talking to people in the church that are saying by

  643. God's grace I'm saved. I didn't earn it, so I can still

  644. do what I want to do and be right with God.

  645. He is saying if they're using their freedom, he goes on and

  646. says for these things will not for these things will not

  647. inherit the Kingdom realm of God.

  648. So again, God did not save us out of something for us to stay

  649. participating in it, right? Because he's given us a new

  650. nature and then God himself lives in US.

  651. Wow, how amazing is that? So with that being said, first

    1 Peter 2:11

  652. Peter chapter 2 verse 11 says it this way.

  653. He says, I appeal to you, my friends, as strangers and refuge

  654. in this world, do not give in to bodily passions, which are

  655. always at war against the soul. Those things that we mentioned,

  656. you know, in Scripture is fleshly things that are contrary

  657. to spiritual things. And we are to resist the flesh,

  658. when in fact we are to crucify the flesh and be led by the

  659. spirit. So the systems of this world,

  660. the way of this world, the things that you're doing at

  661. work, you've seen in maybe past relationships, maybe you have

  662. some friends that are in some relationships and the way they

  663. treat each other. You know, there may be business

  664. practices that are going on in the world, all kinds of things

  665. that are contrary to the Kingdom that you have to make sure it's

  666. waging to get war against your soul.

  667. And you have to say, you know what, I'm not going to do that.

  668. I'm not going to do that. I'll give you a case in point.

  669. This is very simple one, but Sunday when we playing flag

  670. football, Leo comes flying across the field out of nowhere

  671. and catches the ball and goes out.

  672. I happen to be on the sideline not in the game at that time

  673. because we playing four on four and we had five and they only

  674. had four and I saw it right now. The refs on that side said he

  675. didn't catch it, but I'm like, he caught it and he's not on my

  676. team. Because at the end of the day,

  677. if we're going to if we're going to win, I want to win honestly.

  678. And I get it. Some people can make a wrong

  679. call, but the reality is honesty is of the Kingdom lifestyle,

  680. right? And that's just a very simple,

  681. we get when you start getting into business, all kinds of

  682. things, you know, there's all kinds of ways that the world

  683. will attack your mind to say do it this way.

  684. Well, you nobody's going to know it's OK here.

  685. Da da, da, da, da, that wages war in your soul.

  686. And you have to say, you know what?

  687. I'm I'm not going to do it because I want to maintain the

  688. smell of victory in my life that when I walk around, I am the

  689. righteousness of God in Christ. I am a doer of his word.

  690. And man, when people see me, victory walks in the room,

  691. right? Victory walks in the room.

  692. So Galatians 522 to 23 says it this way.

  693. How can you be assured of these types of victory?

  694. Well, you have to be born again because those who are born again

  695. now have fruit from the Spirit of God, That's the Holy Spirit.

  696. Before I was born again, I did not have this fruit.

  697. OK, I may have tried to put on this fruit.

  698. I may have tried to demonstrate these practices.

  699. However, I had alternative motives.

  700. You know, a person can be patient.

  701. I'll give you a case in point. When I wasn't living for the

  702. Lord in high school, I was really patient with females.

  703. Until you get what you want, say Amen.

  704. Anyway, it's been a long time. I know.

  705. Are you shocked? I get it.

  706. You know, I was, I was a heathen.

  707. I was backslidden, not living for the Lord and living

  708. according to my flesh. And so, you know, there were

  709. things you're pursuing and you're patient.

  710. And for me, I was patient. And then I would be super kind

  711. to the parents because if the parents like me, I'm in, I'm in.

  712. And when I break up, the parents will blame the daughter.

  713. Crazy as that sound. Well, he was such a nice guy.

  714. See mode of it in there. It looks like you're kind.

  715. So again, not everyone kind is kind.

  716. That's why, you know, I'm cautious when I call good people

  717. good and bad people bad, you know, because not everybody that

  718. does supposedly good things are good people.

  719. So I say, well, they're acting nice for sure.

  720. That I know about them is they're nice, but I don't know

  721. them enough to determine, is that fruit good?

  722. Right anyway. But when you're born again, this

  723. comes by the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit is Lovejoy,

  724. peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, right,

  725. gentleness and self-control. Which means then that whole list

  726. that we're talking about, how would I fall into sexual

  727. immorality? When the temptation comes, I

  728. pull out the fruit called self-control.

  729. Cause before I was born again, didn't have that, did not have

  730. that. Nope, did not have self-control.

  731. Did not have it. But now that I'm born again, I

  732. have self-control. I said I have self-control.

  733. Now, I've told this story before, my wife knows it, that

  734. when we were at Rhema, I worked at Bergen Brunswick, which was a

  735. pharmaceutical company. And you know, I sold everybody

  736. at class out by, you know, Bible college.

  737. I was a drug pusher because I pushed, you know, prescriptions

  738. down the line every night filling orders for pharmacies.

  739. What do you do for a living? Well, I'm a drug pusher.

  740. I was always a good talking point.

  741. Anyway, there was a lady that was over that area and one day

  742. we were staying a little late because you have to pull all the

  743. orders where we go. And she kind of caught me by

  744. myself and set up on the thing and started talking to me.

  745. And basically he was asking me don't go to my home, come to

  746. hers. And I was like, no, you don't

  747. really like me. What you need is Jesus.

  748. Now that ended that pretty quick.

  749. When I said that, she never approached me again.

  750. All right, when I said, you know, I'm not the man you want,

  751. the man you want is Jesus, the man, I said that she's like, OK,

  752. I got to go, right? But yeah, I mean, because again,

  753. she was not attracted to me. She was really smelling the

  754. victory. She wanted some victory, but she

  755. can't get victory that way. And so I was letting her know

  756. how you can have this smell is that you can have Jesus, right?

  757. Well, you understand self controls there, right there.

  758. You're like, no, there's no way. Why?

  759. Because I'm a child of the King now I operate in a fruit that no

  760. longer I'm subject to the world where I have to be this guy that

  761. always is being unfaithful to his spouse.

  762. I'm not that guy, I'm a child of the king.

  763. I'm faithful to one person and why can I do this?

  764. Closing scriptures this first John 4/4 come on, you know it.

  765. It says this, you are from God little children and have

  766. overcome them because greater is he who is in you than he who is

  767. in the world. Now you understand so many

  768. believers quote that but are not living that.

  769. How in the world can I say I have a the greater God in me,

  770. yet am always failing in the world?

  771. I'm always being subject and I'm I'm lying like everybody else,

  772. cheating like everybody else, swindling like everybody else,

  773. deceiving like everybody else, manipulating like everybody

  774. else, complaining like everyone else, gossiping like everybody

  775. else. No, I have the triumph over all

  776. those things because of God in me, and now I get to move this

  777. thing on in the life of God because Christ has set me free.

  778. Whoo, glory to God because the greater 1 is on the inside of

  779. me. Man, that's such good news.

  780. We are not of this world anymore.

  781. And when we walk in a room, people should say there's

  782. something different when they get around you eventually, what

  783. is it? And then it's going to come out.

  784. His name is Jesus.
