  1. Tonight is the the 3rd and final installment of the Voice in the

  2. voyage. It's been my great honor.

  3. I love you guys. Again, this is my home church

  4. with you all and there's, there's nothing like being

  5. amongst your family and being able to minister the word of God

  6. and see growth and development. I've, I've grown as much as you

  7. have in this process. The study that I've been able to

  8. do has been fantastic and being able to come in here and share

  9. the word is a it's a great give and take for all of us.

  10. The Holy Ghost isn't just speaking only to you.

  11. He's speaking through me and I get to partake and it's an

  12. honor. Apostle Earl's doing the work of

  13. an apostle. Presently he is with our Port

  14. St. Joe family that he's let us know

  15. on Sunday. He's doing some administrative

  16. things with them, meeting with them.

  17. Powerful. God's moving.

  18. Just 'cause you don't see outside of this place doesn't

  19. mean he's not doing impactful, powerful things across the

  20. nation. I mean, Anchor Faith Church,

  21. whether you are present for every area or not, every day is

  22. igniting the city, impacting the nation and influencing the

  23. world. Even in other time zones, while

  24. you're asleep, there's other time zones that Anchor Faith

  25. Church. People are praying even while

  26. even while Sunday, Sunday evening may be going on, there's

  27. people that have already paved the way in prayer for what we do

  28. on Sunday hours before we've showed up.

  29. Amen. This I'm telling you I'm.

  30. Honored to be part of this. I love my church tonight.

  31. As we get back into jump back into this series here again to

  32. give a little bit of a recap. The key text that we have for

  33. for this this whole month has been James chapter 3 verses 4:00

    James 3 chapter mention

  34. and 5:00. James chapter 3 verse four and

    James 3 chapter mention

  35. five. It says.

  36. And look at ships also. Though they are so great and

  37. driven by strong winds, they are still directed by a very small

  38. rudder that whatever the inclination of the pilot

  39. desires. So also the tongue is a small

  40. part of the body, yet it boasts great things.

  41. See how a great forest is set aflame by such a small fire.

  42. So. Every living person that that

  43. has a beating heart in this place today has a destiny from

  44. God. Before you were born, God knew

  45. that you would be born and said, I have a plan and a purpose and

  46. an assignment for them to accomplish.

  47. He he's, he's not haphazard, God's not reactionary to things.

  48. He has a a response to any kind of failure, but he also has a

  49. plan before that ever takes place.

  50. So whenever you were born, regardless of the circumstances,

  51. you don't have to tell me whether your dad was there or

  52. not there, whether your mom wanted or didn't want you.

  53. Either way, the Heavenly Father wants you and not only wants

  54. you, but needs you. He needs your assignment in the

  55. earth. And not only does he need you,

  56. but the whole world needs you to step up and rise up and become

  57. who you were born to be. We've said before that, you

  58. know, graveyards are the richest place in the world because

  59. buried under that soil is the treasure of books that were

  60. never written, songs that were never sung, paintings that were

  61. never painted, lives that never got to be impacted because those

  62. people were buried too soon, too soon.

  63. But let it not be said of us that we didn't run our race as

  64. hard as we could, that we didn't lay aside the flesh and find our

  65. destiny and then do that. So where we can say, like the

  66. Apostle Paul said in the end of his days, he said, I've poured

  67. out my life like a drink offering.

  68. That means he left it all on the field.

  69. Man, I don't want to, I don't want to show up and have, have

  70. the king show up in my face and I'm well rested when he gets

  71. here. I want to have given out and

  72. said I've, I did, I laid my life down.

  73. I did my assignment. I found my purpose.

  74. I did it with my whole heart, regardless of what people

  75. thought about it, regardless about the, the, the things that

  76. came against me. I persevered and did what the

  77. King assigned me. But that's what goes on in the

  78. lives of believers is that we are set out on this path,

  79. especially when you get born again, you are set out on a

  80. course that God, he's got a, he's got a map for you.

  81. He's got the compass, He's got the destination all the

  82. waypoints laid out. But it's your responsibility to

  83. get there. And the thing that guides you

  84. along the path of your destiny is your mouth.

  85. See, we talk about the voice and the voyage.

  86. There's two voices happening. One is the voice of the king,

  87. the captain declaring, here's where you should go.

  88. The second voice is your mouth guiding the rudder.

  89. Your whole life goes in the direction of your mouth.

  90. In the first week, we. Talked about the power of the

  91. word and hopefully that, you know, there doesn't need to be

  92. much more said about that. Do we understand words are the

  93. most valuable thing in the universe?

  94. Words are what the Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Creator

  95. King, decided to use not only to create, but also to

  96. administrate, establish, and rule through in our lives in

  97. this planet. Still, nothing's more valuable

  98. than words. The second week we talked about

  99. the authority of our confession, what happens when we confess?

  100. And I love that this has been a great time for us to come in and

  101. not only have the the spiritual revelation from the word of what

  102. it is, but also the practical application of how to do these

  103. things. Because it's one thing, come up

  104. and say you should have a good confession.

  105. And that sounds very Christian, Christianese, I'm aware.

  106. Not everybody has grown up in church.

  107. Not everybody has read the Bible more than 20 times.

  108. Not everybody has done that. So when you say things like you,

  109. you should be led by the spirit, brother.

  110. And they're like, what are you talking about?

  111. Sometimes it's good for us to kind of take a minute and break

  112. it down and explain what we mean by these phrases.

  113. Same thing. Watch your confession.

  114. Somebody's like, I didn't say anything to a priest in a wooden

  115. room with a That's not what we're talking about now, our

  116. confession. Is what comes out of our mouth

  117. God created us to be a speaking spirit which means when we speak

  118. authority is released identity is revealed we permit things in

  119. heaven and earth we we you know begin to establish our character

  120. and reveal our character it's a powerful thing every time that

  121. words begin to. Be used so this third.

  122. And final installment here, we're going to talk about

  123. conversation because a lot of times we talk about positive and

  124. negative confession, decreeing something.

  125. If you get a bad report, what do you say?

  126. How do I speak out words of faith?

  127. But I find even in the Bible, and we'll look at a couple

  128. stories tonight, but people can derail their entire purpose in

  129. this planet through conversations with other people.

  130. Just as much as a declaration of faith in a moment of need is

  131. powerful and can release his authority, so also is a

  132. conversation response to somebody sitting in your home.

  133. Now it's important to realize and and we'll this will kind of

  134. set the stage for the night. The voice that you value is the

  135. voice you will echo. The voice you value is the voice

  136. that you will echo. And when we.

  137. Said last week, the Greek word for confession literally means

  138. to say the same thing. So every time you begin to

  139. decree something, declare the word of God.

  140. Speak something. If you value the word the most,

  141. that should be what comes up out of you the most.

  142. Now you don't have to be again. Weird.

  143. Give me a weird Christian. You don't have to respond to

  144. everybody in a verse. OK?

  145. Sometimes we can have to. Hey, how was your golf game?

  146. I was blessed and highly favored of the Lord brother, and the

  147. Lord showed up and his creation is gorgeous.

  148. Don't just tell me you shot A-100.

  149. That's all I needed. You're not that good.

  150. He's blessed and highly favored and not your golf game is not.

  151. We don't. We can have conversate, be

  152. conversational, but know that the principles of our

  153. conversation is what we gain from the word.

  154. Not just the poetry of our conversation, the principles of

  155. our conversation, but the voice that you value the most is what

  156. you'll echo, which I can tell a lot by talking to somebody.

  157. Wow, it seems like you value your opinion.

  158. It seems like we can really break it down that nobody's

  159. saying like they just want to repeat what the devil says,

  160. right? Nobody's like, oh, I only speak

  161. what the devil says. Nobody's going to say that.

  162. But a lot of times people will be like really opinionated

  163. themselves and want to tell you their thoughts on everything.

  164. And they end up drifting their conversation into an area that's

  165. not what God thinks, but just what they think.

  166. So where they either don't know what God thinks about this

  167. subject. Or they don't really care

  168. because the voice they value the most is the one that they have

  169. curated themselves from listening to a bunch of

  170. podcasts, from listening to a bunch of coworkers, from

  171. listening to a bunch of political leaders.

  172. Sometimes when you're talking to somebody, you're like, where did

  173. you get that? You ain't smart enough to form

  174. that sentence. You're repeating somebody else

  175. that you believe and value their words, that that is not even

  176. true. People do this conversationally

  177. about each other. Do you hear so and so?

  178. Do you hear what so and so did? Well, they didn't hear it from

  179. so and so. So they heard it from somebody

  180. else and they valued it enough to start echoing it and

  181. repeating it. OK, This happened in the land

  182. that we know of Israel a couple thousand years ago, 3000 years

  183. ago. Whenever this scenario happened,

  184. we can look at the. Let's look at I'm just going to

  185. appear for the sake of time. I'm going to tell you the story.

  186. OK, I'm just going to tell you the story.

  187. You have an obligation. Go look it up.

  188. The book of Numbers, in fact, start in Genesis.

  189. What you should do this week if I'm going to give you a reading

  190. assignment like Apostle Marcy. Read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,

  191. Numbers, and Deuteronomy all. Five books of the She normally

  192. gives a small assignment. Don't read this whole thing.

  193. This is the full context of the Torah, the Pentatuch, the five

  194. books that Moses wrote. But in the midst of Israel

  195. establishing themselves and being drawn out of Egypt, they

  196. went to go into the Promised Land that God had shown them.

  197. The whole reason they came out of Egypt in Exodus was because

  198. God was delivering them to a new land.

  199. They understood this well. They knew they weren't just

  200. coming out to wander. That wasn't the goal.

  201. They know God has promised us a place.

  202. God. Not just Moses, it was clear who

  203. promised them God. The undefeated never lost a

  204. battle, ruler of heaven and earth, worker of all great

  205. miracles that they had recently just seen a bunch of great

  206. miracles. That's the God that promised

  207. them land. So they knew what they were

  208. getting into. They go out into the and they're

  209. like God's leading us into a promised land.

  210. So then Moses says, listen, go spy out the land and see what's

  211. in it. He didn't say, and you can go

  212. look at it for yourself. He didn't say, hey, go see if

  213. we. Can.

  214. See the the conversation that he heard?

  215. He echoed What the. Lord said go.

  216. Go in and spy out the land and bring back a report of what's in

  217. the land. They knew what's in the land

  218. belongs to us because God has promised us that we're going to

  219. take this new land. So he sends 12 spies, one from

  220. each tribe. They go into the land.

  221. They start down at the very bottom.

  222. They work their way all the way up to Lebanon.

  223. They travel. It takes them a month.

  224. To journey and go through and when they came back Moses is

  225. like report what was it but we know how human beings are right

  226. like y'all ain't that much different than people that lived

  227. 3000 years ago These people didn't just because we read it

  228. in the Bible and it. Skips ahead.

  229. This story does. Like when I say a month, they

  230. didn't just walk in like robots and silently for one month only

  231. look around and come back and I will report they talking.

  232. In fact, it's a bunch of dudes hanging out together camping.

  233. There's conversation every day, every night, and we can tell

  234. what that conversation was. I wasn't there.

  235. None of y'all were there, but we all know what the conversation

  236. was by what came out of their mouth when they came back to

  237. report. And that should be important to

  238. note because I'm not in every conversation with people when

  239. they're talking in their homes and with their families and with

  240. their friends. But you can tell what they talk

  241. about whenever they start to report to you about their life.

  242. We don't have to be present. Oh, you weren't there?

  243. But I'm here now and I hear what you're saying.

  244. And that thought came from somewhere.

  245. So then we get 10 of the 12 spies.

  246. Majority come back the majority and they go there's giants in

  247. the land. Great.

  248. Also, we already knew that the land, if I'm going to get like

  249. real Bible nerd for a second, the land they entered into is

  250. called Kireth Arba. Arba is the most famous giant of

  251. that time. He had a son named Anak.

  252. Anak had three sons. This is all in the Bible, and it

  253. says that they sang folk tales of the three sons.

  254. Who can stand against the sons of Anak.

  255. We already knew that. Moses already knew that.

  256. So when they came back, there's giants in the land, Moses, like,

  257. yeah, OK, So what do we see? They said we're like

  258. grasshoppers in their sight. OK, let's use our brains.

  259. Let's just say they were like 12 feet tall.

  260. They're not even like the 9 foot ones like Goliath was.

  261. They're 12 feet tall. Grasshoppers.

  262. For that to be a mathematical equation, to actually be

  263. accurate, No. What's happened?

  264. I'll tell you I wasn't there, but I'll tell you what happened.

  265. Somebody saw the giants and in fear said we're like

  266. grasshoppers. And everybody's like, oh, that's

  267. good. We are.

  268. That's poetic. Oh my gosh, we're like, that's,

  269. that's our mantra. We're going to go back and

  270. that's what we say. Now there's two people.

  271. Then apparently those conversations went different for

  272. those other two people. And I'm just going to say their

  273. names were Joshua and Caleb. Now, listen, I got a brother.

  274. He lives in Georgia. His name's Caleb.

  275. And I'm not saying, but I am saying we trust what the Lord

  276. says. But if you notice, because of

  277. their conversations, Joshua and Caleb had to also suffer for 40

  278. years in the wilderness. Conversation is what caused them

  279. to postpone their assignment. They didn't come back and say,

  280. let's, you know, make a covenant and shed blood so that we can

  281. make in a decree that we will not go in, right?

  282. No. All they did was came.

  283. Back and gave a negative report. They came in and complained

  284. about what God said to their leader.

  285. We're like, we're like grasshoppers on the side.

  286. Like what can we do? Their conversation charted a

  287. different course than was assigned to them.

  288. Think about it. They were assigned to go on from

  289. one place on a map to another, and because of conversation, it

  290. charted a different course that took them a much further route.

  291. 40 years. What should have been 10 days or

  292. less took them 40. Years to get there because of

  293. their mouths. And they obviously had

  294. conversation amongst themselves because those ten were in

  295. agreement. Just because you get together

  296. with friends and you start talking and get in agreement

  297. about something doesn't mean you're right.

  298. Also, it doesn't mean you're picking the wrong sides.

  299. In the end there's not, oh, I agree with this person and this

  300. person. Let's pick sides and whose side

  301. are you on? I'm only ever on one side, only

  302. one. And that is what is the word

  303. say? What is God declaring?

  304. Moses wasn't on a Moses side. Moses just agreed with God.

  305. Joshua and Caleb didn't say we just agree with Moses.

  306. No, they said what did God say? We agree we can do it.

  307. So just for fun extra, you know, Bible nerd things that that

  308. region with the giants. The very first battle they get

  309. in, not whenever they they leave that and they're going to have

  310. to wander. The first battle they get in

  311. with a giant is this guy named Aug who's mentioned 30 times Aug

  312. of Bastion. How do I know that 'cause I read

  313. it. I read the Amplified Bible all

  314. the way through Aug of Bastion. Aug of Bastion it says in

  315. parentheses and not in parentheses.

  316. That guy was known to be more than 13 feet tall, had a bed of

  317. iron 13 feet tall, and was the most legendary well known giant

  318. in all the land and was a king of a territory.

  319. The first guy Joshua goes and fights and kills is the worst

  320. biggest giant and they had to still spend another 40 years

  321. walking around. Isn't that like God?

  322. He's like you're afraid. OK, let's go knock out the

  323. biggest, baddest one and show you how ridiculous your whining

  324. was. If you can get this guy, you can

  325. get the rest, but you're going to have to wait 40 years.

  326. So in that region is the region of Hebron.

  327. Well, there's a big mountain where Joshua and Caleb went up

  328. and they saw it, and that region is where the giants lived.

  329. Turns out that's the same mountain that 40 years later

  330. when Joshua and Caleb go back into the promised land after the

  331. Battle of Jericho. And they go in there.

  332. Caleb looks up at a mountain and says, I want that mountain.

  333. You know what mountain? That was the one with the most

  334. legendary giants of that region. The sons of Anak lived there.

  335. So Caleb, at more than 80 years old, went in and accomplished

  336. what everybody else could have had.

  337. They just had the same conversation.

  338. I'm telling you, you got Joshua and Caleb in there.

  339. They're. Oh, yeah.

  340. They're like Moses is yes man. They're God's yes man.

  341. God said you can conquer. And they said we agree.

  342. If you aren't God's yes man, you're missing it.

  343. What do you God's no man? That's terrible.

  344. God declares something or decrees something in your life

  345. or asks you to do something. You go, no, what?

  346. No, that's the problem is we don't have.

  347. It's not about having allegiance just to a person.

  348. I've got an allegiance to a message.

  349. I've got an allegiance to a word from the king.

  350. I've got an allegiance to the king.

  351. I'm a King's man. I don't care if you all disagree

  352. in the end, I'm going to go back to the word and say if the word

  353. says it, I believe it. That settles it.

  354. I'm going to declare it and speak it out of my mouth.

  355. So if you're like, oh, our conversations don't really

  356. matter, you know, it depends on who you're talking to.

  357. That's not the criteria. Your motives are ever present no

  358. matter who you're talking to. Your words that come out of your

  359. mouth carry the same authority every time your mouth opens, no

  360. matter who you're talking to. Oh, I got my one friend.

  361. I can vent to them a little bit. Careful with your venting.

  362. Careful with your venting that it doesn't wind up you and your

  363. friends showing back up with somebody and saying, well,

  364. here's what the Lord said. Look, look at how we look in

  365. their eyes. Be careful.

  366. What derailed the whole nation for 40 years was just them not

  367. agreeing with the king. And they were in unity.

  368. I mean, you look at the Tower of Babel.

  369. These people were in unity with their conversation.

  370. So then God goes in and confuses the words they're saying.

  371. You don't think words matter? That's the one thing that was

  372. keeping their ungodly stuff together in unity.

  373. People like, we should have unity.

  374. Then why aren't we saying and echoing what God is saying about

  375. everything? I find it interesting.

  376. People will come and they'll be like, oh, hey, what do you think

  377. about this? And I say that and they're like,

  378. oh, Pastor Chase just told me the same thing.

  379. Well, it's not 'cause me and Pastor Chase got together and

  380. texted each other, Hey, what did you respond to this person?

  381. I want to make sure that we're saying the same thing.

  382. It's because we both know the words and whenever we go into a

  383. situation, we look at it. We're like, here's what the

  384. word. Says And they're like, all those

  385. people disagree with each other. No, we agree with the Word.

  386. What else am I going to say? What do you want?

  387. Oh, you want my opinion? That doesn't carry power.

  388. My opinion can send you down a course that would be detrimental

  389. for both of us. What you want from me is what

  390. genuinely carries the authority and power of God, which is the

  391. word of God. But how do you feel about it?

  392. Who? Cares stop.

  393. Stop looking at how you. Feel.

  394. If you surround yourself by a bunch of people that feel like

  395. you, maybe you're going to be stuck there feeling that way

  396. forever. If your words chart of course.

  397. You're on be careful who you surround your body, because if

  398. you get around people whose words aren't on the same path as

  399. you, you're going to go with them.

  400. If God's assigned a destiny to you, if he's assigned A mandate

  401. to you in a in a purpose and you're on going in a direction.

  402. I don't have an allegiance just to my old friendships because

  403. we've known each other a long time.

  404. I don't have a religion, an allegiance to blood relatives.

  405. Jesus even said himself, listen, who is my mother and who are my

  406. brothers? Those who do the will of my

  407. father, which really what he could be saying in the light of

  408. what we're saying here. Those who are headed in the same

  409. charted path as me, if every time you're getting around this

  410. friend and everything they're saying is the opposite of what

  411. God's calling you to do and they're always just constantly

  412. telling you, oh, you shouldn't do that.

  413. Here's what God has in my heart. No, no.

  414. At some point, when do you say what we covered last week and

  415. Jesus looked at Peter and goes, get thee behind me, Satan, you

  416. set your mind on man's interests, but I need somebody

  417. to set their mind on God's interests if they're going to

  418. talk to me. If you always just got man's

  419. interests, I'm sorry if I'm not calling you all the time, I know

  420. who I can call. The Bible does say in a

  421. multitude of counselors their safety.

  422. It does not say in a multitude of opinions their safety.

  423. It is not saying a multitude of friendships their safety.

  424. It does not say in a multitude of words their safety.

  425. I know who to go to that will actually give counsel.

  426. Counsel is somebody that says, let's look at the word.

  427. What does it say about? This.

  428. Somebody goes well, you know, someone's my cousin.

  429. You know they, they did the same thing.

  430. I don't want to hear it. I don't hear about your cousin.

  431. I'm not your cousin. I want to hear about what is the

  432. word say. So our conversations are

  433. important. Let's look at this here.

  434. It says in Proverbs chapter 13, verse 20.

    Proverbs 13:20

  435. There's so much in Proverbs about our words, about your

  436. mouth. In fact, of of many of the

  437. subjects in the Bible, I've found that your conversation in

  438. your words is one of the top #1 addressed things in the New

  439. Testament. When Paul begins writing letters

  440. to the churches and letters to the pastors, he begins to deal

  441. with them always, at every point, at some point, what

  442. they're saying out of their mouth.

  443. He told Timothy in his letter to.

  444. Timothy as a pastor, he said. Set an example in your

  445. conversation. Set an example in your

  446. conversation. Proverbs 1320 says he who walks

  447. with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will

  448. suffer harm. Now from the biblical standpoint

  449. of what character and what wise would mean, I think we can

  450. deduce it doesn't have to say those who always have their

  451. conversations right. It doesn't have to say that word

  452. for word, but a wise man guards the gate of his mouth.

  453. If you're walking with people who are continually just saying

  454. whatever's on their mind and not guarding their mouth, they're

  455. not wise. In fact, there's this statement

  456. that's, you know, for a long time, you know, growing up in

  457. church, there was like, I wanted to have quotes, you know,

  458. outside the Bible for some reason.

  459. It was the dumbest thought, but I there was, I was like, I want

  460. to quote presidents. That'll be cool.

  461. Abraham Lincoln has this awesome quote.

  462. He's like even a fool can seem wise if he keeps his mouth shut.

  463. Turns out that's not Abraham Lincoln.

  464. That's Proverbs. All the best ones come from the

  465. Bible. You don't got to look for

  466. somebody else, OK? They're all either just

  467. rephrasing something or going somewhere else.

  468. So again, a fool can seem wise if he keeps his mouth shut.

  469. Why? Because it reveals who you are

  470. and what type of person you are the moment you open your mouth.

  471. And you can try to pull the wool over everybody's eyes and say,

  472. say the right thing. But you know what?

  473. There's always a harmony. Between what you think, what you

  474. say, and what you do. The moment one of those. 3 gets

  475. out of alignment. You're a wacko.

  476. You're an absolute wacko. What you think, what you say,

  477. what you do. See, you can try to trick people

  478. with what you say and say something, but what I can tell

  479. what you're thinking because what you're saying.

  480. Doesn't seem to line up, and what you're doing definitely

  481. doesn't line up. So one of these three doesn't

  482. belong. Or somebody's always saying,

  483. saying, saying something, yet how they act ain't it.

  484. That's weird. That's what causes unbelievers

  485. to look at Christians to go they're fake.

  486. That's what causes unbelievers to look at believers and be

  487. like, Oh yeah, you know, they're what is the word they use for

  488. it? Hypocrites, hypocrites.

  489. Somebody that says they believe something, says they live a

  490. certain way, but all the evidence points to you don't

  491. what you think, what you say and what you do should be in

  492. harmony. And in fact, that's a

  493. progression, what you think is out of the.

  494. Abundance of the heart The mouth will speak also.

  495. As a man thinks in his own heart, so is he.

  496. So those 2GO together as you think on the inside, your mouth

  497. is going to say that. Then from there your actions are

  498. going to line up. You're charting the course for

  499. your. Life through what you say in

  500. your conversation. Here's another negative example.

  501. We won't be all negative tonight, but it is a warning.

  502. Because it's no good for us to just get up and be like, oh,

  503. confession, declare the word. It's all good.

  504. It's everything's fine. And not give you a stern warning

  505. and say hey, but be careful because if your mouth carries

  506. what we said last week, life and death, as a pastor, I'm not

  507. going to stand up here and say, hey, I'm only going to tell you

  508. about the positive side. Whenever there's a danger of

  509. death, I encourage my children. But if they started running out

  510. in in front of a car in the street, I wouldn't go.

  511. You're good. You're a great kid.

  512. I love you. I'd probably give a word of

  513. warning. Hey, that'll hurt you come back.

  514. Hey, you're in danger. So we can't cover the

  515. conversation of our mouth and not to look at both sides of

  516. what's happening. In Second Samuel, again, I'll

  517. kind of paraphrase this passage again, but we'll look at Second

  518. Samuel 1516. This is where Absalom, the son

  519. of David A. Member of the royal household,

  520. an avenger of his sister. We already know a lot about this

  521. guy by the time this verse shows up.

  522. But he decided that he was going to sit out there and he had a

  523. better idea of how to lead than his leader.

  524. So he sits outside the city gate and it tells us he's sitting

  525. outside the city gate and what he would do.

  526. Is that the people would come to him and he would say, listen,

  527. come tell me your problems. Tell me what it is.

  528. These people were coming to this the gate to talk to the king.

  529. But he said you don't need to talk to the king.

  530. Come talk to me. Let me hear what it is first to

  531. make sure that's what you want to you.

  532. Don't you want to embarrass yourself?

  533. Let me hear it. And when they told him, he would

  534. say, listen, if I was king, I would take care of that.

  535. But I know you don't even have to go to the king.

  536. I know he's not going to. He's not going to listen to

  537. that. The King didn't even get a

  538. chance. King didn't even know.

  539. Because this guy's sitting outside the gate.

  540. And what does it say? It says.

  541. And in this manner Absalom dealt with all Israel who came to the

  542. king for judgement, so that Absalom stole away the.

  543. Hearts of the men of Israel, you're like, how could God let

  544. that happen? Who did God anoint as king over

  545. Israel? David.

  546. No, Absalom is in the royal bloodline.

  547. I mean Absalom had every chance. He could have been king later if

  548. he would have just not aligned with David, but aligned with

  549. what David aligned with right? The word.

  550. Had he just aligned himself with the word, then he could have had

  551. every right to become king in his own time at the right time.

  552. But somewhere selfishness and selfish motivation rose up in

  553. him that he wanted to get in between.

  554. What is the leader saying and what is you tell me?

  555. Oh OK, Well, if I was. King, I would do that different.

  556. See if I was a supervisor, you know we wouldn't have this

  557. problem. Listen, don't don't go to

  558. management yet. We all going to get in trouble.

  559. You tell me what the problem is 1st and I'll I'll help you.

  560. Danger. Danger.

  561. What's your complaint? Tell me your complaint first.

  562. The complaint department. It seems like the complaint

  563. department of any organization or relationship is a cesspool of

  564. revolution and an absolute cesspool.

  565. Of sin I'll just say that it's against the word of the king

  566. again it's it's one thing to deal with things in reality and

  567. we talked about that last week there's a reality of some things

  568. that could be taking place but at some point people when they

  569. shift from what is the reality of our situation that needs

  570. changed into. Let me just talk about what

  571. needs to be changed. Let me let me give this this

  572. side point scripturally if there isn't.

  573. An issue and there are you are having.

  574. Issues because the. Children of Israel, they're

  575. having issues, They're real issues.

  576. That they're trying to bring to the king.

  577. But if you're having issues with other people, the biblical

  578. standard is you go to them if they are violating the word, not

  579. if they're making you mad. I've had it both ways.

  580. I've I've done things and I'm like, oh man, I, I need to stay

  581. on the right path. Somebody's like, hey, you, maybe

  582. you're drifting. Let me come bring me some

  583. correction. And here's what the word says

  584. about it. I'm like, man, thank you.

  585. And we're good there. There's been other times where

  586. people come to me. And say I don't like how you

  587. said that. OK, Did I say it in love?

  588. It didn't feel like love to me. Well, did I violate scripture

  589. somewhere? Did what I said wrong was my

  590. motive. I mean, my motive towards you

  591. was right. No, it just made me mad.

  592. Well, this isn't a biblical come to your brother thing.

  593. It sounds like you got to offense yourself.

  594. Go deal with that yourself. And we're in the first couple

  595. months of 2026. Deal with your own offense stuff

  596. so we don't have to do this every year.

  597. But if there is a genuine biblical issue, if there is a

  598. complaint of in the Kingdom that is like somebody's violating the

  599. word, then go to that person directly.

  600. But the goal is restoration. The goal is I want to see you do

  601. right, let's do right together. That's always the goal.

  602. Then if they don't receive that, if they're like, no, I don't.

  603. I'll take it. Then you take it up.

  604. You take it to the leaders of the church and meet with them.

  605. The Bible says that in the New Testament, New Testament church

  606. right now, our dispensation, what we're doing is you take it

  607. there and the goal is. Restoration.

  608. How can we do God's will together?

  609. Still, let's do God's will. Then if they don't receive it,

  610. you take them for the church and say they they're doing wrong

  611. according to the word. They won't receive it in person.

  612. They won't receive it from from the leadership, they won't

  613. receive it at all. Here it is.

  614. That's not the goal. The goal is not to embarrass

  615. somebody or do that, but in the end, the result of that, the

  616. goal is restoration. So in any of these things, the

  617. goal would be bring them to leaders, bring go to them and

  618. have restoration take place. And that conversation is

  619. wholesome. That conversation breeds

  620. righteousness and it breeds unity amongst ourselves.

  621. There's been many of people. I mean, I'm not going to have

  622. you raise your hand because that's awkward.

  623. But if you've ever been corrected, you know, I've had

  624. correction from a brother in Christ.

  625. I've had correction from pastoral staff.

  626. I've had, you know, correction happen.

  627. And it was only life to me. I'm thankful for any time that I

  628. was addressed and said, hey, you're getting off.

  629. Of what God's best is, you need to get back to God's best.

  630. I'm thankful for that. And the goal was always to

  631. restore. But I've also had people talk

  632. negative about me before, and you know what?

  633. Their goal was not to. Restore.

  634. Their goal was just to bring light to He's wrong.

  635. Regardless of whether I was or not, when the Love chapter,

  636. First Corinthians 13 tells us pretty clearly about how that

  637. conversation should go, it's not so much about just what you're

  638. saying. It's also the motive on which

  639. you say it. Because it says pretty clearly,

  640. love does not rejoice in unrighteousness.

  641. But rejoices with and the amplified is elated with the

  642. truth. So you can tell through people's

  643. conversation. The way like Absalom here, every

  644. time somebody brought him a problem, he was elated in the

  645. problem. That problem was an opportunity

  646. for him to have conversation. See, love does not rejoice in

  647. the unrighteousness. Love comes and says what can we

  648. do? How can we go?

  649. Fix this problem, but unrighteousness says, oh tell me

  650. more what else is wrong and they start getting excited.

  651. Oh see, I told you how Israel was man.

  652. I told you how this whole place is, they they need something

  653. going on different and snatch the hearts away from the people

  654. and the king didn't. Even have a chance.

  655. But what did God do about it? Was God fine with it?

  656. So you've got so good. Why did he let it happen?

  657. Because God doesn't interfere in the the administration of man

  658. over planet Earth until He's permitted David.

  659. Had the right to say Absalom had the right to do that in planet

  660. Earth as a human being. But we see that that played out,

  661. that the course that he was on, he could have been king, He

  662. could have done right, He could have done something.

  663. But the track that he was on was derailed.

  664. That finds himself stabbed in the heart with darts.

  665. By his uncle Joab. How did we get here?

  666. His movie would start with a you may see me here.

  667. You know, you're wondering how did I get this way?

  668. Then it would rewind and show us the whole thing that I just

  669. described. But his end result was because

  670. he violated the word. He dishonored the leader, that

  671. God. Put in his life, it doesn't

  672. matter if it was your dad, God, who anointed David that's.

  673. Right. I mean, this plays out multiple

  674. times in the Bible. We even mentioned last week that

  675. Moses and his brother and sister, this is a fam in her

  676. family problem. They show up and God brings them

  677. to the tent of meeting and says you've been complaining about

  678. Moses. That means God was in their

  679. conversations, and their conversation wasn't just one of.

  680. Leadership. It was because he had married an

  681. Ethiopian woman for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

  682. That's what it says. I just quoted it 2 times.

  683. They mentioned it. They were they were peeved about

  684. it. Why are you marrying an

  685. Ethiopian? They didn't like it, so whenever

  686. they were together, I wasn't there.

  687. But I can tell you what they were talking about in their

  688. conversation. It was that he married an

  689. Ethiopian woman and it had to be mentioned more than once because

  690. they mentioned it more than once in the Bible.

  691. I. Wouldn't have done that.

  692. I wouldn't have married an Ethiopian woman.

  693. Why did he do it? We.

  694. Prophesied just like him, right? But like, don't, don't we?

  695. Aren't we anointed of God like he, you know, he's God, chose

  696. him. But what's he doing?

  697. But God heard every word. Moses wasn't sitting outside the

  698. tent going No, God heard it. God calls Moses and them

  699. together. Moses is just like, sure, hey

  700. what's up bro? What's up, sis?

  701. And God goes. Why were you not afraid to speak

  702. against my servant Moses It. Was a shock to some of them.

  703. He didn't say Why were you not afraid to attack my servant?

  704. He said. Why were you not afraid to open

  705. your mouth against the one I anointed?

  706. Your conversation has found you in your.

  707. Tent spewing heresy and treason against my Kingdom.

  708. That's why we couldn't talk about your mouth and not discuss

  709. gossip because gossip is a two way St. that both ends have

  710. treason. That's where it begins.

  711. That's where it ends every time. Conversation.

  712. Let me read you the definition of the word gossip here.

  713. This is fun from the Oxford Languages Dictionary.

  714. It is casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about

  715. other people, typically involving details that are not

  716. confirmed as true. I'll read it again.

  717. It says casual. Or unconstrained conversation.

  718. Or reports about other people, typically involving details that

  719. are not confirmed as true. See, we should be people of

  720. truth. Again, if we're echoing what God

  721. says, we can go back to John, right?

  722. John 11 in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,

  723. and the Word was God. God and the Word are synonymous.

  724. They are the same. The Word is God.

  725. Then later he says, what is truth?

  726. Thy word is truth. So if we were to be people who

  727. speak truth and speak truth alone, well then why would we

  728. entertain things that we don't know to be true?

  729. Or not true. Amen.

  730. I mean, Jesus said I speak nothing of my own initiative,

  731. but only what the Father tells me.

  732. The Father is who? John 11 in the beginning was the

  733. Word. The word was with God.

  734. The word was God. He says I only speak what God's

  735. word says. That's my motive.

  736. That's what I'm doing. I don't speak of my own

  737. initiative. That means Jesus wasn't walking

  738. around giving his opinion, throwing it out.

  739. There's there's some believers that it's like they're holding a

  740. sack of seeds and it's just their opinions and they're just

  741. sowing their opinions everywhere wondering why their

  742. relationships are hindered. Wonder why they got why?

  743. Why does it seem like everybody's frustrated at me?

  744. What? What are you sowing?

  745. If you're sowing truth, people can be mad at you because of

  746. truth, and Jesus said I'll vindicate you there.

  747. But if you're sowing your opinion and people get mad at

  748. your opinion, hey, you're on your own.

  749. I don't want to be out of here all alone.

  750. I want to do things with God. We're just saying Hallelujah, I

  751. am not alone. But you understand you can get

  752. in a place where you ain't with him.

  753. He's not leaving you alone, but you can get yourself out

  754. somewhere. You left him think about Adam

  755. and Eve, that God was with him, walking with him in the cool.

  756. Of the day. And then the snake.

  757. Pulled up a chair in their living room.

  758. So let's talk. About what you've been doing.

  759. Where you at? What are you doing for God?

  760. Are you tending the garden? OK, You naming the animals?

  761. Elephant. That's what you came up with.

  762. OK, that's fine. What did God say about this

  763. tree, though? We.

  764. Weren't dealing with an elephant in the room, we're dealing with

  765. a tree in the room, something that they knew God has

  766. commissioned me and decreed to me what I should do with this

  767. tree. He.

  768. Said let's talk about this tree. What'd God say?

  769. He said. God said don't eat from it, the

  770. devil goes. What's going to happen?

  771. What's going to happen? If you do, it's all right.

  772. We'll die you. Won't die.

  773. It'll be fine. You look at it.

  774. Look what it could do for you. Look what it could do for you.

  775. If you hungry, you could eat from this.

  776. And in that little conversation. We begin to derail because what

  777. we think and what we say and what we do should be governed by

  778. the word. But in that moment, what Eve

  779. thought, it says that she saw the tree was good for food and

  780. desirable to make one wise. That's a thought.

  781. And then she said, and then all of a sudden she ate.

  782. And in this trifecta of a think, say and do, she derailed because

  783. somebody said something that she believed more than the word.

  784. Like why was the failure in the garden so bad?

  785. Because her allegiance shifted from the king to the enemy.

  786. Your conversation always reveals your allegiance.

  787. Always. Amen.

  788. And far be it from anybody at Anchor Faith Church to ever show

  789. allegiance to something other than the word Amen.

  790. Even in conversations with brothers and sisters.

  791. You say you. Hear what they did to me.

  792. My allegiance isn't me trying to pick sides with Kirk because,

  793. you know, somebody over here was mad at Kirk.

  794. I'm not trying to pick one of their sides.

  795. My side is always, what does the word say about it?

  796. Oh, you're just loyal to him. I'm not loyal to a man.

  797. I'm loyal to the mandate. I'm not loyal to a person.

  798. I'm loyal to a word. When gossip takes place, it

  799. betrays trust when it is spoken and it betrays integrity when

  800. it's received. It's a two way St.

  801. Make no mistake, if you can't guard the conversations in your

  802. home, you have no control over your home.

  803. If you can't guard your conversations at coffee.

  804. I didn't say anything, but did you hear everything with no

  805. response? We talk about the power of words

  806. and you. Set there silent, we talk about

  807. the authority of a believer, the word of God that could rise up

  808. in you and you. Hear treason of the Kingdom and

  809. just listen and think the king is going good.

  810. I'm. Good.

  811. I'm glad. It's OK.

  812. Who's going to speak for the King?

  813. God's always. Looking for somebody who's going

  814. to declare my word if the if God's word being spoken into the

  815. earth permits his will to be done in the earth, he's always

  816. looking for somebody who will speak my word over a situation.

  817. You know, we can talk about how boldness.

  818. Gets you to declare the word and we said maturity keeps you to

  819. knows when to keep your mouth shut.

  820. There are times to keep your mouth shut, but there's also.

  821. But don't ever get those mixed up because God.

  822. Forbid we actually say. Something when we shouldn't or

  823. we shouldn't, and then we do. Wait, God.

  824. Forbid that, we say. Something when we shouldn't say

  825. something or we say silent when we should have been declaring

  826. the word. There's, there's, there's a lot

  827. of times somebody want to, you know, even if somebody's come to

  828. me about my, my wife or my kids and oh, you know, try to sow

  829. seeds of discord and oh, what are they doing?

  830. Hey, shut, shut your mouth. You're not bringing that to me.

  831. At times people have come to my about my friends, you know?

  832. Oh, your friend, it seems like they, you know, they're always

  833. doing this, you know, how can you, how can you always hang out

  834. with them? Shut your mouth.

  835. This is not a conversation for me.

  836. I've found that over the years people don't come and bring me a

  837. bunch of gossip. Maybe they scared I don't get a

  838. bunch. Of phone calls, of people

  839. saying, hey, let's, let's hang out.

  840. Let's I want to tell you about what I think's wrong with you

  841. and and all the people you hang out with.

  842. They don't do that because I know my response is not going to

  843. just be. What I think my response is

  844. going to be the word. What does the word say about it?

  845. So let's look at what the word says about this subject.

  846. We're going to do like some rapid fire like Apostle Earl

  847. does. I love it.

  848. And he's like, we're going to do some rapid fire.

  849. It doesn't mean I'm going to talk fast.

  850. I'm going to try to talk slower. I'm I'm aware that I can speak

  851. at, you know, 400 words a minute and Gus's up to 1000.

  852. I'm aware there's some verses what we want to put up on the

  853. screen and look at these. Psalm 1015.

  854. What does God say about gossip and conversation?

  855. Psalm 1015. Nope.

  856. Yes. Psalm 1015 Whoever slanders his

  857. neighbor, him I will destroy. Good Lord, we just jump right

  858. here. Whoever slanders his neighbor, I

  859. will destroy him. He will be destroyed.

  860. That's what the Lord is saying. OK, let's look at another one.

  861. James chapter 4, verse 11, James 411, coming out of the same

    James 4:11

  862. passage as our key text. It says do not speak against one

  863. another, brethren, for he who speaks against his brother or

  864. judges, his brother speaks against the law and judges the

  865. law. And if you judge the law, you're

  866. not a doer of the law, but a judge of it.

  867. Now he's not saying don't judge. That's one of the most

  868. misconstrued, understood things from the Christian walk and from

  869. the biblical text. I'm like, don't judge.

  870. I've never heard somebody look at me and go don't judge me.

  871. That wasn't wrong. Because David had the opposite,

  872. he said. God search my heart and all my

  873. inward parts and see that there's any way in me that

  874. displeases you. A righteous person once says

  875. judge my behavior. When somebody goes don't judge

  876. me, I say there's something in there that needs to be judged

  877. then but also. You lying, you judge everybody.

  878. We're all always judging everybody.

  879. I feel like I don't. I'm holy.

  880. No, you're not. You're judging what I'm saying

  881. right now. You're making the determination

  882. right now in your heart about what I'm saying.

  883. When I stood. Up here, you judge.

  884. Whether or not I had hair or not, everything we're doing, we

  885. are taking in information and words that are being said and,

  886. and pictures that paint words in our minds and we are turning

  887. those over in our heads and making determinations about

  888. them. That's what we are doing.

  889. So don't judge my behavior. You asked me to turn a blind eye

  890. to what you're doing. I'm not going to do that.

  891. I'm not blind. What you've done is that is

  892. you've violated the scripture. Don't judge me.

  893. I can't pass your final judgement.

  894. I'm not God. This is not a white throne.

  895. This is just a pulpit. I'm not telling you whether or

  896. not you're going to be in hell or not.

  897. That's not what I'm I can't pass.

  898. Cast a final judgement. Well, what I can judge is say,

  899. hey, you were a jerk to the waitress and you should probably

  900. apologize because you represent me.

  901. We'll be sitting. At this table together and I

  902. feel awkward because you just yelled at them.

  903. Don't judge you, I am judging. Be nice.

  904. Look at another passage, Ephesians chapter 4, verse 29.

    Ephesians 4:29

  905. Let no unwholesome. Word proceed from your mouth,

  906. but only such a word as is good for edification according to the

  907. need of the moment so that it will give grace to those who

  908. hear in our conversations. They shouldn't just become this

  909. muddy situation of hearing a bunch of negativity.

  910. No, as Kingdom people, we bring solutions to problems from the

  911. Word. So in the end, the goal is that

  912. we would not let unwholesome speech come out of our mouth,

  913. but that we would be able to edify in the moment and give

  914. grace. What is grace?

  915. It is not the big cover up, but grace is God's empowering

  916. ability to bring change and life.

  917. So whenever you speak to somebody, whether regardless of

  918. what they've said to you, your response should bring grace and

  919. empowerment for it to become right, become restored, become

  920. whole. If you just sit there and agree

  921. and go, yeah, that's all bad, you're selling yourself short.

  922. God wants Kingdom people to show up and bring life in every

  923. conversation they have, but that life is only found in the Word.

  924. It's not in how you feel or what you've experienced.

  925. We'll we'll go over 5 things that gossip does.

  926. I want you to take some notes, write down these references.

  927. I'm going to read them. They may not be on the screen

  928. 'cause I'm going to read them. This is our rapid fire.

  929. Part of the rapid fire part. Number one thing that gossip

  930. does is separates and breaks relationships.

  931. Proverbs 1628 said a perverse person spreads strife and a

  932. slanderer separates close friends.

  933. A perverse person spreads strife, and a slanderer

  934. separates close friends. Proverbs 17 nine says one who

  935. conceals an offense seeks love, but one who repeats a matter

  936. separates close friends. One who repeats a matter.

  937. You can hear something that's a matter.

  938. And then when you go, Oh, did you?

  939. Hear what so and so said, have you?

  940. Gone to so and so. Are you repeating something or

  941. did you actually go to them with the goal of restoration?

  942. If your hearts that that person would be restored, then you

  943. would start immediately in the biblical process.

  944. If they brought it to your ears, go to the person.

  945. And I found when God's people are doing the God's people thing

  946. and we're locking in love and doing the right stuff.

  947. That's really the only that's the only one we got to do.

  948. Go to your brother and normally they'll be like, here's the

  949. word. I believe the word.

  950. Let's get right and they get right and move on.

  951. But he who repeats the matter? See if somebody's like, oh, you

  952. know, hey, I went to our brother the other day.

  953. I asked him to get right. He got right.

  954. But you know what he did? Hey.

  955. That ain't love. Why are you repeating it?

  956. You spreading strife and now you've gotten this person having

  957. to think about what your brother did, not trying to cover up.

  958. You didn't cover up. You went to them and you dealt

  959. with it and they got themselves right.

  960. And in first John 19, they confessed their sin and God was

  961. faithful and just the forgiveness of their sin and

  962. cleanse them from the unrighteousness and now it's

  963. made whole. Why are you talking about it

  964. still? Slanderer, friend, Separator,

  965. evil. Don't judge me, I'm.

  966. Judging you. You did it.

  967. You did the evil thing. You repeated a matter.

  968. That was dealt with shame, shame, shame, shame.

  969. Why do I feel shame? Because you.

  970. Deserve it because you violated the word.

  971. So now we got to go to you, brother, and say, hey, brother,

  972. you violated the word. You repeated the matter.

  973. You shouldn't have done. You should have guarded and

  974. protected them. But let's restore you.

  975. And then you bring them back into fellowship.

  976. And you don't go out and tell somebody else what so and so did

  977. about so and so. It's a vicious cycle.

  978. You say it is. Yeah, I'm telling you.

  979. Our local coffee shops get the brunt of it.

  980. Come meet me for coffee. Careful.

  981. I don't know. Maybe.

  982. What do you want to talk about? Tell me that first.

  983. Send me. Send me some bullet points.

  984. I. Don't know, they'll just want to

  985. have free unencumbered conversation with you about

  986. people. And again, it's not an issue of

  987. talking about people's lives. Listen, nothing brings me more

  988. joy in life with my calling than people.

  989. Also, nothing has brought me more sorrow in my life than

  990. people. But when people are like, oh,

  991. it's, you know, brilliant people.

  992. I don't know what these quotes are.

  993. Sometimes they come through the Facebook or something.

  994. It's like brilliant people only talk about ideas and weak people

  995. talk about people. OK, that's not true.

  996. I love people, I want people made whole, I want people

  997. restored. But what you say about the

  998. people is what matters. If you're talking about people's

  999. problems, OK then you you're weak.

1000. But that's not scripture anyway. It's just a meme.

1001. Just because it's letters put on a picture that's cool does not

1002. mean it is truth. Just because five people shared

1003. it to you does not make it more true.

1004. Just because it has 20,000 likes does not make it biblical truth.

1005. Oh my goodness. Gossip spreads.

1006. Gossip spreads. The second thing it does it

  1007. spreads. It's addictive.

1008. Listen to this Proverbs chapter 18 verse 8.

    Proverbs 18:8

1009. And This is why you got to be warned, because it is addictive.

1010. If anything, if any concept in the Bible has MSG sprinkled all

1011. over it, it's going to be gossip.

1012. It says Proverbs 18-8, the words of a whisperer.

1013. The words of a whisperer. Are like a dainty morsel and

1014. they go down into the inward most parts of the belly or of

1015. the body. They're like potato chips.

1016. There's no nutritional value here.

1017. You eat too much of it. It's it's not good for you, but.

1018. Somebody's like, you want a chip, sure.

1019. And when you eat the first one, what happens?

1020. You can't stop. And then you ate the whole bag

1021. and you're sitting there with an empty bag and shame.

1022. But that's what the same thing gossip is whenever somebody.

1023. Comes in and goes, hey, you want to know something?

1024. Hey you got the option seal the. Bag.

1025. Put it in the pantry. No, I don't.

  1026. Otherwise you go. What?

  1027. Is it? Hmm.

1028. What else you know? And then you leave no one on the

  1029. inside. Something ain't right.

1030. Then you got to start justifying.

1031. Well, I guess, you know, we do care about these people.

1032. And I do want to know about all the problems in our life.

1033. And I guess we could do something.

1034. Maybe at some point I'll pray for them.

1035. And you ain't praying. You needed to pray before you

1036. had. The conversations what you

1037. needed to do third thing gossip does gossip sustains conflict

1038. longer than it should. Gossip sustains conflict.

1039. The Proverbs chapter 26 verse 20 says for a lack of wood, fire

    Proverbs 26:20

1040. goes out, and where there is no whisperer, strife quiets down.

1041. See, something can be dealt. With by the Word, somebody can

1042. be restored in their church and their family.

1043. Somebody could have made a mistake but then be made right.

1044. But then the. Whisperer walks around.

1045. Yeah, but did you know what they did?

1046. Can you believe that though? Really.

1047. Hey, I heard they I heard they got it right.

1048. They did, but Can you believe they had to get it right?

1049. Shut your mouth, you ain't sitting in my living room saying

1050. all that. What does God say about it?

  1051. They're saying they've been forgiven.

1052. They did it. They've their sin is as far as

1053. the East is from the West. Let's move on.

1054. That's nasty. Strife only survives on

1055. repetition and whispering and remembering.

1056. OK #4 we already was that number three.

1057. Yeah #4 Gossip reveals character Proverbs 11/13 One who goes

1058. about as a slanderer reveal secrets, but one who is

1059. trustworthy conceals a matter, one who goes.

1060. About as a slanderer. Reveal secrets.

1061. Hey, you want to know secret? I don't know, but probably not

1062. from you. I've heard you talk before.

1063. I don't want to know your secrets.

1064. You got like a word secret. You got a mystery.

1065. You want to reveal a revelation of what God's doing.

1066. Are you about to tell me about? So and so I don't want to hear

1067. that. Don't tell me your secrets,

1068. especially if your breath stank. Don't become whispering at my

1069. face with your stank breath and your stank conversation.

1070. OK? The fifth thing that gossip

1071. doves. Gossip is able to be stopped by

1072. you Proverbs 17/9 again, he who we read this, but Proverbs 1791

1073. who conceals an offense seeks love, but one who repeats a

1074. matter separates close friends. It can stop with you.

1075. You can say we won't go any further here.

1076. We won't talk about that thing. And again you're like, what does

1077. this have to do with confession? Everything.

1078. Everything. Those are the conversations that

1079. derail your purpose. Those are the conversations that

1080. derail your relationships. Those who God's entrusted into

1081. your life to oversee your soul. Those who's God's entrusted.

1082. In your life to come alongside you as your contemporaries and

1083. your friends and your colleagues, those people's

1084. those, all of those things can be.

1085. Ruined by you being untrustworthy, being evil in

  1086. your conversation. It matters.

1087. So what can we do? Find a point we make tonight as

1088. we can repent because of again, if our our life is governed by

1089. what we think, what we say and what we do.

1090. That's why Jesus's first words in ministry were repent.

1091. That means change the way you think.

1092. You cannot change your conversation.

1093. You cannot change your confession and your decree

1094. without first changing the way you think and what you think

1095. about. There has to be a harmony

1096. between the thoughts in your mind, the words of your mouth

1097. and the things that you do. So look at these, these 4 verses

1098. and then we'll close. Hey, you need it.

1099. OK? You ain't showing up at Anchor

1100. Bay Church, not getting a bunch of scripture.

1101. What do you want me to get up here and just tell you stories?

1102. I'm giving you the most valuable thing you're going to get all

1103. week. So sorry, not sorry, Joshua.

1104. Hey, turn there. 1/8 says this book of the law shall not depart

1105. from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so

1106. that you may be careful, careful to do according to what is

1107. written in it. So what are we to meditate on?

1108. God doesn't just say don't think bad stuff.

1109. No, He tells you what to think. Think on the Word Psalm 1,

    Psalms 1:2

  1110. verses 2 and 3. Psalm 1-2 and three.

1111. It says, But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in the

1112. law he meditates on it day and night, day and night.

  1113. I. Had a bad dream?

1114. What were you thinking about before you went to bed?

1115. Were you stressed? Because of work, were you

1116. thinking about people's lives and situation?

1117. Where you thinking about what somebody told you?

1118. Or were you meditating on the word?

1119. Because I'll tell you something the word says about your sleep.

1120. It says that he will give his beloved sweet letter sweet rest.

1121. If you don't have sweet rest, it's because maybe you're not

1122. tapping into that promise of God.

  1123. I was. I was always stressed.

1124. You ain't meditating on a word. The word ain't bringing you

  1125. stress. OK?

  1126. Second Corinthians 10/5. Second Corinthians 10/5.

1127. It says taking. Every thought captive and

1128. bringing it against the knowledge that is against the

1129. knowledge of God and taking every thought captive and

1130. bringing it into obedience with Christ.

1131. So every thought that comes to you lining up with the word, let

1132. your allegiance be shown in what you line your thoughts with.

1133. You're not going to say God things and not be thinking God

1134. things as well. Out of the abundance of your

1135. heart, your mouth speaks and as you think in your heart, so

1136. argue. So those two things tell me

1137. what's in your mind and in your heart is what's coming out of

1138. your life. So the last scripture we'll look

1139. at tonight, we'll close with this one in Philippians chapter

    Philippians 4:8

  1140. 4, verse 8. Philippians 4 verse 8 says this

    Philippians 4:8

1141. finally, brothers and sisters. Now this is written to a church.

1142. This is in our time. This is written to you and me.

1143. Are we brothers and sisters? He says, now listen, brothers

1144. and sisters, finally, whatever thing is true, whatever is

1145. honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is

1146. lovely, whatever is commendable, think about these things, Dwell

1147. on these things. The first one it mentions

  1148. whatever is. True.

1149. Remember what gossip does. Remember gossip is it's, it's

1150. having conversations about things that aren't really even

1151. verified as truth. Then I'm not even going to think

1152. about it or talk to you about it.

1153. Bring me facts. Bring me truth.

1154. Is it honorable? Bring me honorable.

1155. Bring me what's lovely. Give me a good report.

1156. You don't have to always bring me negative.

1157. You didn't text me back. You didn't text me, right?

  1158. I left you a voicemail and I didn't listen to it.

1159. I know what you said because your character showed out

1160. through your conversation. Was it pure?

1161. Was it true? Was it lovely?

1162. Was it wholesome? Was it a good report?

1163. That's what I'm supposed. To be thinking about and

1164. dwelling on. And when you dwell on the word

1165. of God and you let the truth always manifest in your life and

1166. your conversations, then you'll begin to just speak the truth

1167. and you'll be known as a person of truth.

1168. We have everything we need, everything to live victoriously.

1169. We have everything we need to live with peace on the inside of

  1170. us. But if we.

1171. Derail our mouth. If we think on the wrong things,

1172. then we can find ourselves washed up on foreign shores.

1173. If you bring this whole thing around and say there's a voice

1174. in the voyage, your voice and his voice need to be both

1175. declaring the same path. And again, this can only happen

1176. if you're in the Kingdom. Otherwise you sail in circles.

1177. The only way to get in the Kingdom is to confess with your

1178. mouth. That's the first thing to make a

1179. covenant with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

1180. He's supreme in authority. He's the ruler of your life.

1181. He's the captain that guides your steps and your

  1182. conversations. That's Lordship.

1183. If Jesus and his word aren't guiding your conversation, he's

1184. not Lord. Don't judge me.

  1185. You don't know my relationship. I.

  1186. Hear your. Relationship.

1187. Jesus ain't saying that. But on the flip side, us here at

1188. this church, the majority of us, man, we're loving God.

1189. We're moving forward. I can tell Jesus is your Lord

1190. because you speaking truth, you're speaking life.

1191. Whenever a trial comes, you're not falling all apart, you're

  1192. speaking the Word. Why?

1193. Because that's the way God designed it.

1194. We're to be believers that all come together, rally together

1195. and have the same battle cry, which is what does the word say?

1196. And that's what we repeat.
