Stand for the reading of the word.
-
We are in a a Wednesday night series on Kingdom authority and
-
we're going to lay hands on people tonight.
-
Amen. And so we want to, we want to be
-
able to administer the word, but then be able to minister to
-
people as well. And so in Mark chapter one,
-
verse 21 to 22, it's kind of been our key text here.
-
It says they went into the Capernaum and immediately on the
-
Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and began to teach.
-
And they were amazed at his teaching, for he was one, for he
-
was teaching them as one, having authority and not as the
-
scribes. You can be seated.
-
So we see here that Jesus, when he began to speak, there was
-
authority in the word that he spoke.
-
He is the word. You can speak the word without
-
authority because the scribes, you know, who wrote the word
-
out, they had, you know, they're connected with the priest and
-
the the Pharisees that are the ones that are delivering or
-
teaching the word. But yet when they speak, it
-
sounds like tradition. It just doesn't have the same
-
power associated with it. However, when Jesus speaks,
-
there is authority as if what he's saying will take place.
-
That's why Jesus addressing them in Matthew chapter 15 verse 7
-
and 9 says you hypocrites rightly did Isaiah prophecy of
-
you. These people, this people honor
-
me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
-
Does God know your heart? Yes, He does, always without
-
exception. OK, so just because, you know, a
-
lot of people are saying scriptures and singing songs and
-
posting things, that doesn't mean their heart is there.
-
OK, But God could identify that, He goes on to say, but in vain
-
do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.
-
I was reminded of a time when I was in youth ministry and I had
-
taken our teenagers to a particular camp and, you know,
-
there was like a wall. We were in AI guess in an
-
auditorium, and some teenagers from different churches were up
-
against the wall. And man, they were just crying
-
out to God. I mean, really emotionally
-
crying out to God. It was very obvious.
-
And yet our teenagers, you know, didn't seem as emotionally
-
connected. And I remember kind of feeling
-
like, man, I wish our teens would respond this way.
-
You know, I mean, they would raise in their hands, don't get
-
me wrong, but it just seemed like there was something.
-
And I'll never forget the voice of the Lord say to me, he says,
-
I really don't even hear them. Now that can sound offensive and
-
probably some people would take that offensive, right?
-
But again, it's what the spirit of the Lord said.
-
And you know what, it's not offense when the Lord says they
-
worship me in vain. He says this.
-
So if he knew that they were doing something out of a vain
-
scenario, well, he knows it. I didn't think it.
-
I'm thinking they're really doing something.
-
But he tells me not really hearing them.
-
He says they're, they're trying to get to me through their
-
emotions, but you have to worship me in spirit and in
-
truth. He says you got to teach them
-
how to connect with the Spirit because I'm not moved by a
-
person's emotions. He's not.
-
Now that doesn't mean he won't do something for you out of
-
kindness. I'm not saying that that if a
-
person could only and that's the only way, they haven't even
-
engaged God and they're crying out from an emotional soulish
-
perspective. God is gracious, he's
-
compassionate, He's merciful and he can do something, but that's
-
not how we live. We live by faith.
-
We live to be led by the spirit. So what you have to watch is
-
that if you have an experience with God through an emotional
-
response, that's just God being kind to let you know he's there
-
and he wants to train you how you can do it a better way.
-
But a lot of times when people have a are touched by God in
-
their infancy as they're beginning with God because
-
again, God will start with you where you're at, but what's he
-
do? He's going to take you
-
somewhere. And if you want to stay in
-
preschool how you first felt him, he's like, well, I was just
-
letting you know I'm there and I want to take you somewhere.
-
Why you keep trying to come? This isn't the best living, but
-
I want to feel you like that feeling is not what you need
-
from me. What you need is my word, are
-
you hearing me? And so there's plenty of times
-
we don't watch out. We can have.
-
That's why events can be a little troubling because you can
-
have an experience with God. Will you feel him?
-
I mean, how many times you heard this?
-
And please don't be upset if you've said this to me, but
-
something like, oh, I'm getting goosebumps.
-
Goosebumps. There's not an indicator that
-
that is the Holy Ghost. It can happen, but don't think
-
every time goosebumps come that that is a manifestation of the
-
Holy Spirit itself. And then don't be looking for
-
that. Well, I need to get in the room
-
so that my hair can stand on on edge, you know, on the back of
-
my neck, you know, or I that's see now that's being led by your
-
feeling. No, I know he's in the room
-
because he inhabits the praises of his people.
-
He lives in me. I am the temple of the Holy
-
Ghost, so I know he's in the room.
-
I know he's here. I don't need any other
-
demonstration. If he allows it, I don't have a
-
problem. If he his power came so much in
-
that I fell on my face and I couldn't get up, great.
-
But I don't think God wants us to live where his power presses
-
us on the floor for 5 to 11 hours.
-
That then that's all we want. I remember that service.
-
I was down for 11 hours. Well, did he talk to you?
-
Was there some things you were supposed to do not do?
-
Did you need some rest and he needed you to stay out for a
-
little bit because you've been run too?
-
I don't know. But at the end of the day, we're
-
not led by being slain in the spirit for hours on end, right?
-
So again, he's dealing with individuals that give this
-
impression and their conversation lacks no authority.
-
That's good. None at all.
-
That's why Jesus preceding in Matthew 15 three this little
-
statement. He says to them, He says, and he
-
answered and said to them, why do you transgress the
-
commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
-
And we said this when biblical truths are replaced with
-
traditional truths, then authority is lost.
-
Now, again, when I say traditional truth, I don't mean
-
they're actually truths. I just mean they're traditions
-
that we formed as truths because we've made doctrine the precepts
-
of men. But we, they consider them
-
truths. Biblical truth is what has
-
authority. It holds real power.
-
All right. And we function with power.
-
You know, the church is powerful.
-
It is powerful. It is the most powerful thing on
-
the planet. I mean, just knowing that when
-
you come in this room should make this room electric in the
-
spirit that you're not like we have power when we have some
-
power. The Holy Ghost has given us
-
power through the name of Jesus. We have power.
-
We are not a dead head waiting to get along.
-
You know, a subject to everything like everybody else.
-
And again, this kind of teaching, people say all they're
-
talking about a little God complex.
-
We are children of God. I didn't call myself that.
-
And if I'm in Christ, then I can function as God has ordained us
-
by faith and do some pretty amazing things.
-
I do not want my conversation to only sound like quoting
-
Scripture with no power. Well, you know, I'm going to
-
pray for you. Please don't.
-
Because if there's no power, don't pray.
-
This is why we say we don't want to be known as a church that
-
prays every religion, false religions pray.
-
We want to be known as a church that has answered prayers.
-
Are we going to pray? Yes, but they will be answered
-
because God's not withholding from his church when you ask
-
according to his will Woo you have it Hallelujah.
-
So you got to have a firm persuasion.
-
So the difference between the precepts of men we could call
-
religion and the Kingdom of God is authority is authority.
-
And again, the precepts of men sound good.
-
You know it. It tends to touch us where we
-
feel, you know, when there's a plenty of of, of people that you
-
can connect to on a personal emotional level of things you've
-
gone through. And I was talking to Anna when
-
she was making my coffee tonight and you know, about the ladies
-
that she's helping that in the ministry.
-
And I'm, she said, I just want him to get it.
-
Well, she can provide a place. She can give them clothes, feed
-
them, you know, have food and all this stuff can start to
-
function. She may even be able to say, I
-
know how you feel, I've been in that place before.
-
She may even have personal testimony with some of them.
-
However, none of that change. She could cry with them, but
-
none of it changes unless the word shown in their heart
-
springs forth in a renewal of their mind that they then begin
-
to walk out that which they've been redeemed and made in the
-
likeness of and function in. And that's what she's doing,
-
endeavoring. Let's catch it.
-
Let's get the Spirit of God. Then there's power with God.
-
It's not like some please transition and just keeping
-
your, you know, routine. It's like we're bringing you
-
out. You're going somewhere else.
-
I placed you in a place of power, a place where there's
-
authority, a place where you can overcome, right?
-
We should be living that when we are at work.
-
People like Mandy, it's like what you say and do happens.
-
Come on, come on, How come you have this kind of authority?
-
Well, Jesus gave it to me. And Thayer's definition of
-
authority, which we described, says this, the power of rule or
-
government, that is the power of him whose will and commands must
-
be submitted to by others and obeyed.
-
So again, you know, most of the time, because of the Greek word
-
authority that seen most mostly within the New Testament, is
-
considered through by definition, this delegated
-
power. But this delegated power is the
-
word of a government of which its will is commanded to be
-
obeyed because it will come to pass.
-
And again, as we said, if the simple definition of authority
-
is only delegated power, it it ends up losing its meaning
-
somewhere. Because I've received power from
-
God, because God gave it to me, it was delegated.
-
The Holy Spirit has power because it was delegated to him
-
by Jesus. He said he's not going to speak
-
on his own initial, but whatever he hears from me, he'll say
-
Jesus himself has delegated power.
-
He says, you know what, I don't speak on my own initiative, but
-
what my father says is what he says.
-
That's why the centurion says, man, I'm a man like you under
-
authority and in authority. What you're functioning in is
-
delegated authority. And I have that.
-
And Jesus, like I've not seen such great faith.
-
No, not in all Israel. However, if delegated authority
-
is a delegated power is authority, and the Father has
-
authority, well then who gave him his?
-
So really authority is the final say on anything.
-
It is the final verdict, and the Father holds that glory to God,
-
He holds the final say. So when we say delegated power
-
is really the delegated final say, he's saying Jesus say this
-
Jesus. The word speaks.
-
The Holy Spirit tells us. So when we hear what the Father
-
has said, when we speak, we're really speaking the final say.
-
It is the final verdict. It's like the Supreme Court
-
hitting the gavel. It is now the law of the land.
-
It is as the King has declared, and everything must align with
-
that word. Hallelujah, now you can 'cause
-
that final say to not perform in your life if you do not believe,
-
and you will make it null and void based upon unbelief,
-
meaning you just won't see it function in your life, although
-
the power for it to come to pass is still available nonetheless.
-
That's why a person can receive healing and someone beside them,
-
not the difference between the two is their firm persuasion
-
that what the father just said. That's it cannot be any other
-
way period. And when you have a firm
-
persuasion like that cause again, your your faith life
-
depends on understanding the authority of the words you're
-
believing. And This is why in our and you
-
know, it's so important to teach the word because if you're a
-
person, you know that knows where you're going to go when
-
you die, but you don't study and understand God's authority now,
-
then you know you'll delay the belief.
-
And the reason you'll say I have faith but nothing happens is
-
because it's really become a precept of man, your faith and
-
not really the word of God, the power of God.
-
I'm telling you, people are going to go to go to heaven one
-
day and realize what they could have done.
-
That's going to happen. And again, Jesus has no problem
-
telling you he loves you. I mean, he gets in a boat.
-
He says, hey, let's go to the other side.
-
What did he say? What did he say?
-
What did he say? He is the Lord supreme and
-
authority. He said, so he goes to sleep,
-
but what happens? A storm comes.
-
Does the storm hinder his word? Not at all.
-
Only if you look at it, if you give power to it, if you
-
believe, that's more power. And Jesus never believed that,
-
but the disciples did. So much so that they wake him
-
and say, do you not care that we are going to die?
-
Basically, you're liar or you said to go.
-
So we are going in our strength and not your word.
-
Well, I'm trying to go to the other side.
-
I want to go to the other side. You said to go the other side,
-
but I can't get to the other side because of the storm and
-
because of this storm. It's so bad.
-
Now we're probably going to die and I need to wake him up
-
because what good you know, we need to help.
-
He needs to know his life set danger.
-
I mean, a person who cares about something's going to tell them,
-
don't you? But he didn't say we're we're
-
concerned you'll die with us. They said, aren't you?
-
Aren't you concerned? I mean, don't you know we were
-
going to die? And Jesus is like what he
-
rebukes the winds and the waves. They're blown away and then he
-
corrects them is why you have no faith, why you have a little
-
faith? Why'd you let the storm become a
-
doctrine to you? And there's many that get the
-
storms of life and say, well, the Lord sent this storm.
-
He's trying to teach me something.
-
You know, I was trying to get there, but I didn't.
-
But God knows what he's doing sounds good, sounds holy.
-
We post about it, but the Lord's like, yeah, but you're not
-
telling them the whole story. I mean, again, if we were
-
interviewing Peter and them, they would be like, man, we the
-
Jesus was Jesus, man. He was in the boat and we were
-
really concerned for his life. We were just praising him.
-
We were like taking a nap and we're going to do this.
-
We we're with you. But man, that storm hit.
-
It was rough and I don't know why God did that to our lives.
-
I don't know. But you know, I think he was
-
here to help us build camaraderie, teamwork.
-
He wanted to see our compassion for the ones that are sleeping
-
in underwear, you know. So again, what did we do?
-
We woke him up. We're like, hey, we're going to
-
die. You should get up that way.
-
Maybe we all won't die. Try to figure something out
-
because I don't know why God does these things and brings
-
these storms a lot, but he helps build my character.
-
And Jesus all around said, well, tell him what I said.
-
Oh, y'all don't want to hear this?
-
OK, that's all right. It preached better in the
-
Pentecostal church, I guess. Now we're not giving a whole
-
story because you don't know what God has said in someone's
-
spirit. Don't take the job.
-
Well, I took that job, man. It seemed like promotion.
-
I just knew the God was blessing me.
-
But then everything went crazy, you know, and I, you know, I
-
don't know why God. And they're not saying, well,
-
you know, he did say, or he said take this job, but I didn't want
-
to move. That's good.
-
I didn't want to do something different.
-
He did tell me to go to that church.
-
He said don't marry her. Oh, yeah, I'm.
-
We're not getting that story. I mean, all of you could say,
-
yeah, you better watch out because you're posting on social
-
media. Be honest.
-
I love to say that the Lord did all this to teach me something.
-
You know what I can learn? Because what the devil meant for
-
bad got a term for good. But just let it be known.
-
He told me before I ever got in it, and I disobeyed.
-
Can I just be honest? I disobeyed.
-
But he's so gracious and you know, when I got in this
-
calamity and I said, Lord, I didn't believe you had your
-
word, please forgive me. That man, he calls the winds and
-
the waves to stop. He told me, next time believe.
-
Quit being a slacker. I mean, be honest.
-
But what we want to make sure everybody knows that we are the
-
spiritual elite and we're going to help them through their
-
trial. I don't want you helping me
-
through a trial that you never should have got in.
-
Be honest with me and tell me I didn't listen.
-
OK, thank you. So now let's dissect your
-
problem because I'll learn what to avoid when you do not listen.
-
Because you know what? This is what we'll do.
-
Somebody's been through some calamity in your life, and then
-
you're in it. And you're like, Lord, Yeah.
-
You're not a respecter of person.
-
What you different Lords like, look, this is a totally
-
different scenario. You can't use theirs.
-
They should have never been in that.
-
OK. Oh, Hallelujah.
-
Now just stay with the word, OK? Jesus.
-
Matthew 2818 says this. And Jesus came up and spoke to
-
them saying, come on, how much? Come on.
-
I'll let you go earlier if you if you interact with me.
-
OK, if not, I'll stay till 10. I have no wife at the house.
-
I just forewarn you, there's no rush for me to go home. 0 So me,
-
I feel like a Paul preaching coming on till midnight is
-
what's about to come on me. If I don't get a little response
-
up in this place right here, we'll preach till midnight and
-
I'll preach myself happy and believe God.
-
You'll be awake in the morning to go to work.
-
No problem. OK?
-
Jesus came and spoke to them. How much authority?
-
Come on, how much? How much is all?
-
How much is all? All authority has been given to
-
me in heaven. And man, you're on the earth.
-
What could possibly happen to the church that the head of the
-
church does not have authority over?
-
You got to get down your spirit. What in the world can happen in
-
the earth that our king, his name is not above it?
-
Oh Mama, all authority. Nothing should strike fear in
-
you. Ever when bad news comes,
-
calamity hits. You're like you're on the
-
throne. What's the word king?
-
You've not given me a spirit of fear, but of what power?
-
Why? You have power 'cause you have
-
his authority. You just need to know what the
-
king says about the situation so that you can declare the King's
-
words. Hallelujah.
-
John chapter 14, verse 10. The 14 says this.
-
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in
-
me? The words that I say to you, I
-
do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father
-
abiding me does his works. Man, that's a lesson.
-
If this is not like a page that every believer in the globe,
-
especially in the United States, needs to put on their every
-
round everywhere around their house and keep this quote in
-
front of them. I do not speak on my own
-
initiative. You have to kill your
-
independent opinion. Got to kill the spirit of
-
independence because in the Kingdom is that it is the most
-
dangerous word. Because the minute you start
-
thinking independent, you are going to rebel against His word.
-
And when you rebel against His word, death enters in.
-
He's life contrary to His word is death.
-
And if the head of the church doesn't speak on his own accord,
-
why do we think we have the right to do it ourselves?
-
Why does this happen? He said, believe me that I am in
-
the Father and the Father is in me.
-
Otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
-
Then he goes on and says his verse 12.
-
This is so powerful. Are you ready for this verse?
-
Are you ready for it? Truly, truly, I say to you, he
-
or she, the person who believes in me, the works that I do, He
-
might sometimes when you get to heaven will do, will do because
-
I go to the Father, right and then he goes on said ain't
-
greater worse than these he will do because I go to the Father.
-
Why? Because this miraculous is not
-
being independently put within Jesus himself.
-
He is about to deploy it among his children.
-
He goes on and says whatever, and we know this in connection
-
to 1st John chapter 5. It's anything according to his
John 5 chapter mention
-
will, not you telling God what you want.
-
He's not a genie. Come on not a genie now Jesus
-
I'm praying that you do this for me and the Lord's like you're
-
not even listening before you're talking.
-
Be quick to man got to be quick to hear money of we just give
-
them petitions without even what should we say because when I say
-
what you say it is forever settled.
-
OK, whatever you asking my name that I might I could on some
-
occasions I don't most of the time I won't because I just want
-
to see if you trust me without it.
-
No, he said that. I mean, I don't understand how
-
you how do you rectify these statements?
-
Jesus is not a liar, right? Right.
-
Amen. And people get combated.
-
Why? Because the precepts of man will
-
get competitive, combative with the simplicity of the authority
-
of God that he has given to us. Here's the thing.
-
We don't want any responsibility.
-
Yet you cannot read the Bible and say it's just about God
-
because it was just about God. Then it'd be nothing about man.
-
No, he's got a lot to say about man and his responsibility.
-
God will do his part. You must do your part, and your
-
part is simply believing, believing in his part.
-
That's that's we've got it easy. All we have to do is believe.
-
All we have to do is believe. And again, what is believing?
-
How do you know that? You know 3 + 2 = 3 + 2 equals.
-
I mean, are you confident? If you don't sense that same
-
confidence with what God's saying about any situation in
-
your life, then you're not in faith.
-
And if you're like, yeah, but that's precepts of man.
-
You're trying to create a doctrine around your feelings
-
and situation instead of saying, Lord, what don't I know so that
-
I can get to the place five. It's this way, and there's no
-
other way. Whatever you ask Him, I name
-
that I will do so that the Father may be glorified in the
-
Son. If you ask anything, how, how,
-
how? In my name, I will do it.
-
Will He do it? Come on.
-
Will He do it? Will He do it?
-
All you got to do is ask in His name.
-
Now look at this in Acts chapter 16, In the name of Jesus, OK?
Acts 16 chapter mention
-
And I'm going to give you a case and then we're going to talk
-
about this for a minute because if you ask anything in my name,
-
I will do it. In Acts chapter 16, verse 16 to
-
18, we've already read that all authorities have been given to
-
Jesus in heaven and earth. And he says go therefore.
-
And he says those that go and believe these signs will follow.
-
One of those signs is that you can cast out devils, OK?
-
And so here's Paul in a particular community, and it
-
happened as we were going to the place of prayer, this slave girl
-
having a spirit of divination, which means she had a spirit on
-
her, an evil spirit, not from God, not an Angel.
-
OK, met us who was bringing her Master much profit by fortune
-
telling. In essence, she had a familiar
-
spirit on her in her OK. At minimum, she was oppressed.
-
It was in her mind, could have been possessed.
-
It definitely was attached to her.
-
And this familiar spirit could go out because it's a spirit.
-
It's in the spirit realm. It can go out and follow you.
-
Find out where you went, what you were wearing yesterday, what
-
you ate. Go back to the girl.
-
That way when she comes of art, she can say yesterday you were
-
at that's good. So again, you say, well I'm a go
-
to fortune teller, so you're going to go to demonic people.
-
Well, and I've heard people post this now, if your child was
-
kidnapped and you knew a fortune teller could, would you not go
-
to her? My answer is emphatically
-
absolutely no, because I do not need the devil to help me find
-
my child Jesus. If I'm going to the fortune
-
teller because my child is kidnapped, it's so I can rebuke
-
that demon out of that one and go to Jesus about where my child
-
is. That is the silliest question
-
ever, But Christians will pose that anyway.
-
She's a fortune teller following after Paul, and she kept crying
-
out. These men are the bond servants
-
of the Most High God. Now, is that a true statement?
-
It is a true statement Who are proclaiming to you the way of
-
salvation. Is that a true statement?
-
That is an absolute true statement.
-
And she continued doing this for many days.
-
But Paul was greatly annoyed and Turner said so.
-
In essence, he's like, this is not the Spirit of God-given an
-
announcement on my behalf. Now let me tell you why he has
-
to do this. Paul has come into the
-
community. He's here to set up a church.
-
Are you hearing me and he is proclaimed.
-
He is there sent by the most High and he is proclaiming the
-
way of salvation. If he doesn't deal with this
-
when he leaves, then that spirit can come into the church because
-
I say, did I not tell you that Paul was doing this?
-
They're like you did my life's changed.
-
Did I not tell you that he was a he did thus saith the Lord.
-
This is a problem. So Paul's annoyed at this.
-
He says I command you. He turned and said to the
-
Spirit, not to the girl. Now if you were in the crowd, it
-
would look like he's talking to the girl, but he's not.
-
He's talking to the Spirit. He says, I command you how in
-
the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of
-
her and he came out. When did it debate?
-
No. Did it argue?
-
No. Did it fight?
-
Well, let's turn to Acts chapter 19 and Acts chapter 19 verse 13
Acts 19 chapter mention
-
to 6 and it said but some also Acts chapter 19 of the Jewish
Acts 19 chapter mention
-
exorcist who went from place to place attempted to name over
-
those who had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus saying I
-
adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches seven sons of 1 Skeeva.
-
This is he was a left-handed Jew, a Jewish chief priest.
-
We're doing this next verse. The evil spirit answered
-
answered not come out but answered and said to them, I
-
recognize Jesus and I know about Paul.
-
But, but, but, but, but who are you?
-
And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them.
-
Now the spirit didn't come out. The spirit stayed in the man
-
and, and then supernaturally gave this manpower, leaped on
-
all of them, overpowered all seven of them, and stripped them
-
naked, beat them up and send them out the house.
-
Now we said this last week, 70 come back Jesus, even the demons
-
are subject to us in your name. He says, I saw Satan fall out
-
lightning from heaven. I said don't rejoice over this
-
as much as know your name is written in the Lamb's book of
-
life. The relationship is the most
-
important thing. Here's what these two passages
-
lets us know. If all you want to do is invoke
-
the name so that you look powerful, come on then.
-
He's not Lord. He's not your Lord.
-
This is what happened with Simon the Sorcerer.
-
They, the Peter and John, came down to lay hands on people
-
after Philip had been preaching the gospel of the Kingdom and
-
people were being healed. And then Peter and John came
-
down because he said, hey, people are getting saved.
-
We need to come start a church. Apostles come plant a church
-
here. So they came and they begin to
-
lay hands on people. Now it doesn't say they laid
-
hands. You have to break down the word
-
Saul. The word Saul means seeing
-
something spoken. So they laid hands on them and
-
they were he saw that they were baptized in the Holy Ghost.
-
It's seeing something spoken. They began to speak in other
-
tongues and psalmist like give me what can I pay because he was
-
a sorcerer. He did tricks sleight of hands.
-
He said what can I do to get this power?
-
And he says you're cursed. If this is your position, you
-
have no lot to play with this nothing, right?
-
Because again, it's very dangerous when the believer
-
wants authority and to function in the name just so they can
-
walk and say, well, I laid hands on people that got healed and I
-
did this and I did that and I did this and look how God's
-
using me. That's good.
-
And again, it's happening all over our world because again, a
-
lot of times these things get posted on on Instagram and
-
honestly, I cannot figure out with some of them whether it's
-
just truly trying to glorify God or for you to think, wow,
-
they're anointed. OK.
-
However, this in the name is is a term that when EW Kenyon was
-
talking about the the the name of Jesus and in Christ reality
-
and an attorney came to him and he says, wait a minute, what did
-
you say? He says that you can ask
-
anything in his name. He said yes, So he went looked
-
it up. He said that statement is what
-
we do called power of attorney. I have right now a legal
-
document. I probably should get my glasses
-
so I can read it better. This is a legal document right
-
now filed in our state in particular county and it says
-
Durable Power of Attorney of Peggy A Glisson under Section
-
709.2101 ETSEQ Florida Statue known know all men by these
-
present that I Peggy A Glisson of Clay County, Florida, here
-
and after refer to as principal designate, constitute and
-
appoint my children Earl W Glisten and Kimberly Joyce Till
-
or the survivors of them to be my attorney in fact.
-
And agents here and after refer to jointly and severally as
-
agents to have an exercise all powers, authorities and
-
discretions granted or conferred here upon under to my agent.
-
And And in that event, my said agents need not act jointly, but
-
rather each agent shall have the power and authority to act
-
independently of the other agent without the need in any case to
-
obtain the joinder, consent or approval of the other agent.
-
She says general grant of power. I hereby grant to my Agent, as
-
of the date of my signature set forth below, all power and
-
authority to exercise or perform any act, power, duty, right or
-
obligation whatsoever that I now have or may hereafter acquire
-
relating to any person, matter, transaction or any interest in
-
property owned by me, including, without limitations, my
-
intangible. All property held in any type of
-
joint tendency, including a tendency in common joint
-
Tennessee with right of survivorship or a tendency by
-
the entirely all property over which I hold a general, limited
-
or special power of appointment chooses an action and all other
-
contractual or statutory rights or elections, including but not
-
limited to any rights or election in any probate or
-
similar proceeding in which I am or may be entitled.
-
All as to such property now owned or hereafter acquired by
-
me. Yeah, that's legal.
-
Let me tell you the blood of Jesus Christ when he wrote your
-
name in the Lamb's book alive, and he said go therefore in my
-
name, which means I do not have to get Pastor Angie to consent
-
with me to be able to invoke the name of Jesus in a situation in
-
my life. He has given me this power to
-
pull heaven's authority into the realm of the earth.
-
And the devil sure has to listen.
-
But not only the devil, sickness and disease has to listen.
-
Are you hearing what I'm saying? Poverty and lack has to listen
-
because I have the power of authority.
-
I just sold my mom's car to a dealership.
-
Walked in, They said, is this clean title?
-
Yep, it's clean. Send my mom's name.
-
Oh, is it? Yep, I said, but she's in
-
assisted living and I have power of attorney.
-
Come on, I said. I called the county already to
-
see, do I need to get into my name before I sell it?
-
They say it's not necessary. If you have power of attorney,
-
just have them make a copy of it, send it in so that when the
-
title's changed over, we know you're acting in full authority
-
on her behalf, making decisions as if she was personally
-
present, doing it herself. So when you invoke the name of
-
Jesus, it's as if Jesus, who's seated at the right hand of the
-
Father, comes up off the throne and comes down into the earth
-
and gets inside your body and is speaking right then.
-
That's the power of attorney. That's what we have.
-
So how in the world can the Church of Jesus Christ that
-
Jesus is building? We are wanted.
-
Come on, crime begging. I mean for me to say mom, mom,
-
mom, Mom, I need you to come back.
-
I need you to come back into my time zone.
-
I need you to quit having these conversations with people have
-
been dead a long time ago because of dementia.
-
Mom, I need you to be able to come with me so I can.
-
I need you to come. I have power.
-
That's like Jesus. I need Jesus.
-
Like I've given you power. All right?
-
I mean, what else? What?
-
There's nothing great. I've given you my name.
-
I've given you my name and you're wanting me to literally
-
show up. I've given you my name.
-
See, This is why when we have made the Bible a religious book
-
instead of a Kingdom book and we get upset about words like
-
legal. Now legalism is defined
-
religiously as I am doing something independent of God
-
according to his word, and it will be good enough that God has
-
to accept me. But we know that can't happen.
-
But yet God is a legal God. And legal is not a bad word in
-
the church. In fact, it is an empowering
-
word. Because when I show up and
-
someone said, well, you can't, Oh yeah, I can.
-
Yes, I can. I mean, it's amazing if we
-
function in the world like we do with God.
-
Give me your keys because I want to take all your cars to my
-
house. You say, well, that's mine,
-
doesn't matter. I'll take him.
-
So well, I guess the Lord wanting him to have it.
-
But you're going to pay your car payment.
-
I'm not paying it. You're paying the car payment.
-
You're going to get it. Oil chain.
-
I'm just going to use it whenever I want to.
-
You're like, no, no bro, you're going to take your own.
-
You're going to buy your own stuff, right?
-
Because again, just like, well, that's my car.
-
I'm taking it today. We were like, you're crazy, like
-
I'm going to come live in your house.
-
I'm going to come paint your house.
-
I'm going to put it, change it like I want.
-
You're like, what are you doing? This is legally mine.
-
I mean, you would you let someone who had no home come
-
squat in your house? You'd be like, what are you
-
doing here? But yet we're like Jesus and
-
he's like, what are you doing here?
-
I've already given you the authority.
-
I've given it to you. Just pull out the paper, which
-
is the word of God, and speak it.
-
Speak it. I can't get off these drugs.
-
Name it. Name the drug.
-
Please. Just give me a name.
-
Give me any name. Someone throw out a drug name.
-
What? Adderall.
-
Adderall. Give me another one.
-
Cocaine. Give me another one.
-
Yes, speed marijuana, although they're trying to make that
-
legal. Nick tobacco, Barleys and hops,
-
right? I mean, we just name it.
-
All those names are still under his name, which means he has
-
authority over them. So they can't tell you.
-
You got to put me in you. You, you need to go buy some for
-
so you need it. You're like, no, you have no
-
authority over me. In the name of Jesus I am free
-
from addiction. I remember I have prayed for
-
people that had smoked for years and they would come down and I
-
begin to pray for them like I want to quit.
-
I said OK great. And I said, I In the name of
-
Jesus, I rebuke the effects of tobacco and nicotine in their
-
body. And I command it in the name of
-
Jesus to come out of their body. It must not reside in their in
-
their cells. It can't hang out on their
-
epidermis on the ends of their nail.
-
And I'm telling you, it would smell so bad a few times I would
-
gag of the smell of nicotine coming out of their pores.
-
No side effects because the name of Jesus will do that.
-
I said the name of Jesus. We'll do that.
-
I mean, if a person, I don't care how bad you are, how far
-
strung out you are, how far gone you are, it with lust, you know,
-
pornography, I don't care. His name's above it all.
-
Are you hearing me? I mean, you do not have to allow
-
any spirit of lust to keep trying to show up in your life.
-
You can rebuke it, bond it. It has no way to get through
-
your house. And in your doors you have the
-
power of attorney. Oh, Lord, take this for me.
-
The Lord's like, Say my name. Say my name, man.
-
Say my name like I took it. I've already done this.
-
I did it on the cross. I have done it.
-
It's done. That was the day I signed the
-
document. Gave you power of attorney on
-
the earth. I gave the dominion back to you
-
so that you can rule and reign over all your circumstances.
-
No problem. No problem.
-
It's a power of attorney, yet we made it a religious book instead
-
of a legal binding covenant where the name of G and when you
-
believe it like that, you'll get exactly.
-
And I didn't go into the dealership afraid.
-
I did not go into the dealership ringing my hands and hoping I
-
didn't say, well, I hope this works.
-
So I'm selling a car. OK, Great.
-
We'd love to look at it. Great.
-
OK. It's title and your name.
-
I hope this. No.
-
Oh, well, if it's not your name, we can't.
-
OK. And then we walk out.
-
Yet you have the power to say it's true.
-
But. But I said, but you know, you've
-
been redeemed from the law of sin and death.
-
So when the devil tries to say you're like, but I have this
-
document called the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus,
-
Hallelujah. I said Hallelujah.
-
You know, I love it when people try to run from the law because
-
they have authority. You start taking off and then
-
they make a few calls and then they turn on the cameras.
-
Man. I've gone down to Saint Johns
-
County where they have all the cameras all over county.
-
It's like, it's like eagle. What was that one movie?
-
Eagle eye. Yes.
-
Eagle eye, bro. No doubt.
-
They got their eagle eye on my campus because I've given them
-
access to our cameras. Ain't nobody walking up in here.
-
Nobody's walking up in here. You driving on?
-
Guess what? We got you tag.
-
Yeah, right. We have a school.
-
We have a preschool. You're not rolling up in here,
-
right? You know, I just wish we could
-
do a little different with the ones running the little Donuts
-
in my parking lot. But we did catch 1 the other day
-
because again, the camera goes off, the call goes in, and while
-
they're still, you know, smoking in my parking lot, the authority
-
showed up. Hallelujah, right?
-
And again, I'm watching. I watched one where this guy had
-
a, they stole a car and they showed me this.
-
And so they found out where it was at.
-
Then they would go on the cameras and start tracking where
-
it was. And then they tracked him all
-
the way to a gate. He was getting gas.
-
Next thing you know, all the cops show up.
-
So he takes off. You know, I do encourage our
-
police officers. They really should stay in much
-
better shape, but they took off. But again, there was enough
-
there that it's kind of hard to outrun cars.
-
And ultimately they apprehended him.
-
But, you know, for a season he thought he was free.
-
Well, if man can track US that way, where do you think you are
-
that God doesn't see you? Where does his authority not
-
extend? Oh, I'm thankful for the name of
-
Jesus. Can we let me close with this
-
scripture and we pray for people, OK.
-
And Acts chapter 3, verse one through 8, it says now Peter and
Acts 3 chapter mention
-
John were going up to the temple at the 9th hour, the hour of
-
prayer and a man who had been lame from his mother's womb.
-
So how long have you got your problem?
-
Well, I found out I was diagnosed with cancer.
-
But you didn't have cancer before, right?
-
This guy's had a birth problem. Now I will qualify this.
-
There are things that God does that does require the gifts of
-
the Spirit and that's why he has them there.
-
OK. And those gifts of the Spirit
-
are things that God will do on occasions that are faith of
-
man's not required and he's demonstrating something, but yet
-
it's necessary. Come on, the simple laying on of
-
hands will not get the results of this.
-
It will require the gifts of the Spirit with the gifts of
-
healing. In this case, potentially the
-
working of miracles. Most likely because if you've
-
been lame from your birth, then you know you have what's that
-
call when your muscles are all yes, right?
-
Obviously his bones probably have no real depth or density to
-
them either because he's never put any, you know, walked on him
-
or anything. And so those two are definitely
-
in play and could be a third one called the gift of Faith, which
-
means it's something at another level, right?
-
You know, and again, we have those that are with us in our
-
church that are are deaf. And again, just because they're
-
deaf, how why are they deaf? You know, some can lose their
-
hearing. That's one thing.
-
Some are born without parts of the year, and if parts are the
-
of the ear aren't there, then we have to be in a position to
-
earnestly desire spiritual gifts because it's going to require
-
one of those as he wills to make those happen.
-
This is why I'm kind of convinced that Jesus with the
-
one blind man spit in some dirt and put it on his eyes and said,
-
now go clean yourself because man was made out of the so I
-
feel like he's like I'm putting on you what wasn't formed in you
-
in the womb. Now go wash it and it'll be
-
there and it was OK. So again, when we talk healing
-
all healings not in the same category, although God heals, he
-
is the healer and he sure isn't withholding.
-
So there are things that we have to hear.
-
OK Lord, you say earnestly desire spiritual gifts for
-
certain things that happen. So we need to do that.
-
You know what you should be praying that way you should be
-
able to Lord, we desire spiritual gifts.
-
Not so Apostle Earl or Pastor Angie would function in the
-
gift, but that we function in the gifts.
-
This has the Spirit moves on us because again, when the gifts
-
flow is God doing the work just through you.
-
In this case, this is a gift, but still he invokes the gift
-
with the name. So this man's been laying from
-
his mother's womb was being carried along whom they used set
-
down every day at the gate of the temple, which is called be
-
beautiful, in order to beg arms of those who are entering the
-
temple. Next verse when Peter, Saul and
-
John, When Peter, Saul and John about to go into the temple, he
-
began asking to receive when he saw them begging arms.
-
But Peter along with John fixed his gaze on him.
-
In essence, he started hearing something on the inside because
-
the Holy Ghost to talk to you and he said, look at us.
-
And he began to give attention to them expecting to receive
-
something. So again, did he have something
-
for him to put in a cup? Did he do some action with his
-
cloak? I don't know.
-
But Peter says this, I do not possess silver and gold.
-
That doesn't mean the man was broke, had no money.
-
It means I'm not carrying today like many.
-
You don't carry cash anymore yourself.
-
OK, but what I do have now, why does he have this?
-
Because all authorities been given to Jesus, then how has
-
given it to us? He said.
-
But what I do have, because if you don't know you have it and
-
you're not going to function from that concept of having
-
authority, then you can't give it.
-
You cannot give away what you do not know you have.
-
And if you want the traditions of man to only think all you
-
have is heaven when you die, then you're not going to
-
function in authority. But when you know you've been
-
given it, he said. But what I do have, I give to
-
you in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene.
-
What's he say? Walk.
-
And he sees now he doesn't wait on a response.
-
He sees them by his right hand. That word means he snatches him.
-
He's like that's, that's how convinced Peter is of what he
-
just heard from heaven. He knows Jesus is not a liar.
-
I've seen him do this way too many times.
-
And now he just said, do it in my name, son.
-
He said the works that I do, greater works will you do
-
because I'm giving you my authority.
-
He snatched him up and it says and immediately his feet and his
-
ankles were strengthened. Now I will not say that he
-
snatched him up and Pastor Mike's legs popped out.
-
I'm not saying that probably mine.
-
However, he began to dance and went into the temple.
-
God has given us the power of attorney.
-
It's the name of Jesus. All is his, all authority is
-
his. And he says, now go in my name.
-
And if you'll say what I say in my name, I'm doing it.
