Hallelujah, I think we can do better isn't it?
-
Hallelujah that's good. So we are studying the book of
-
Nehemiah. We ended the 1st chapter ended
-
with I was cup bearer to the king.
-
I described in my last message, who is a cup bearer is a is a
-
most trusted position because King's life is in the hand of
-
cup bearer. If somebody wants to poison him,
-
put some poison into the drink and it can kill the king, kill
-
the king. So before the king drinks, he
-
has to drink it in front of the king and then pass the cup to
-
him. So it's a very responsible
-
position. And basically you see in this
-
chapter 2, what's happening here in chapter 2 is in the month of
-
Nissan, in the 20th year of King Artax exists.
-
When wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the
-
king. Where did the whole story start?
-
In the month of Kislev? That's in chapter 1, verse one
-
in the month of Kislev in the 20th year where I was in the
-
Siddle of Zusa between Kislev and a Nissan, you got three to
-
four months time. So we see that after he heard
-
the report that walls have been broken down, gets burned down,
-
temple is torn down. So all the news he hears, he sat
-
down and wept and prayed and prayed, weeping and praying,
-
weeping and praying. And as he was doing it, he
-
gathered some people around and they started joining him and it
-
became a movement of prayer. So you see by the end of the
-
chapter 1 he says verse 11. Oh Lord, let your ear be
-
attended to the prayer of this your servant that is referring
-
to Nehemiah himself and to the prayer of your servants who
-
delight in the in revereing your name, your servants referring to
-
others who are joined him in prayer.
-
It became a movement of prayer. Everybody say movement of
-
prayer. You heard Haley mentioned about
-
prayer 21 days of prayer. This is very much in our heart
-
that we should become a praying people.
-
Why you look into the real life of Nehemiah, There's no
-
revelation. There are no angels visiting
-
him. There are no dreams, divine
-
dreams. But he fulfilled something in
-
his life. He was playing a very key role
-
in fulfillment of prophecies and Nehemiah, I would say represents
-
every New Testament Christian. Sometimes you may say you may
-
not have any dreams or visions or supernatural experiences, but
-
still you can fulfill the plan of God.
-
You can, you can fulfill very key things to happen for the
-
church, in the church through your life if you begin to pray.
-
So prayer is the key. Prayer is the key for revival.
-
So for the walls to be rebuilt, I told you the walls are very
-
important. Why?
-
It brings disgrace. If you live in Jerusalem and the
-
walls are torn down, the enemies will taunt you and say, hey,
-
you're living in a city that has got no walls.
-
There's no safety for you guys and it is not something to be
-
proud about and it is not something they can gloat about.
-
Also, they cannot talk about it. So it is, it is shame, basically
-
shame, sense of shame. You know, the sense of shame is
-
there in so many things. When somebody cannot have
-
children, it becomes a part of sense of shame.
-
In the Old Testament times, not now anymore in the New
-
Testament, but in the Old Testament, Hannah was not able
-
to have children. It is a sense of shame for her.
-
And you look at the Abraham say I was not able to have children.
-
It was a disgrace for her. Elizabeth in the New Testament
-
is a disgrace. But I tell you, all these things
-
they have overcome in every situation of shame and rejection
-
they have overcome by prayer. Any other means they have
-
overcome. No, we all know about prayer,
-
but we don't pray. I tell you, there was a time in
-
my life I used to be preaching the Word of God.
-
I even speak in a prayer conference or prayer meeting on
-
prayer. But in my personal life, I have
-
not prayed. It's not something to be proud
-
about. But my life changed when I began
-
to pray. That is what I'm hinting at.
-
If we want things to change, we must begin to pray.
-
So now he has got how much time to pray?
-
Three to four months of prayer and it has become a movement of
-
prayer and people are gathering around him every evening, day
-
and night. He says day and night he was
-
crying and praying, weeping and praying day and night, three to
-
four months. And that showed up in his face
-
when he stood before the king with the cup and he handed over
-
the cup to the king. And king says why does your face
-
look sad? Why does your face look sad?
-
What does this exact words he uses?
-
Why does your face look so sad when you are not I'll You are
-
not physically sick but why is your face looking so sad?
-
That one sentence of the king can mean death to Nehemiah in
-
one second. They don't play, kings don't
-
play. He just lifts his finger.
-
There will be people, others who will come and put the thing on
-
his face like what they did to Heman.
-
Heman, the king, said, do you molest the queen in my presence?
-
That's all he said. And eunuch came and put the
-
black thing on his covering, on his face, and took him away and
-
hanged him on the gallows. So if you are found sad in the
-
presence of the king, that cannot be anything other than
-
sadness of heart. That means you must be
-
conspiring against the king. And who knows if there is poison
-
in the cup? That's why your face is
-
different. So when he said it, what
-
happened to Nehemiah, he said I was very much afraid.
-
I was very much afraid. This is a natural reaction to
-
the situation there. And that can just simply his
-
life will end in one second. It doesn't take long.
-
So he was afraid to hear those words from the king.
-
So he says, may the king live forever.
-
Why should my face not look sad when the city where my father's
-
have buried lies in ruins and his gates have been destroyed by
-
fire? So king asks a question, Why is
-
your face sad? You are not sick.
-
Why? Why is your face sad?
-
And in response, he is asking one more question.
-
Is that how you talk to a king? He asks you a question.
-
Why is your face sad? Oh, how can I not be sad?
-
My city, where my father's are buried, is in ruins, gets burned
-
down. So he is asking another
-
question. This is a rhetoric way of
-
answering, eliciting sympathy. He was trying to appeal to the
-
sympathy of the king. Hey, my king.
-
Long, Long live the king. May nobody ever do anything harm
-
to you. I've got nothing of the sort.
-
I wish the best of your interests.
-
But the sadness of my heart is because the ancestors, where
-
they are buried is the gates are walls have been turned on.
-
The gates have been burned down. Can I not be sad?
-
Should I not be sad? Or if you were there, we need
-
not be sad. So he has the wisdom to answer a
-
question with another question, eliciting sympathy from the
-
King. You know what?
-
He prepared himself for this moment, praying day and night,
-
weeping and praying. He must imagine every situation
-
in his mind. I go into the presence of the
-
King, and if my my sadness shows up in my face and he asked me
-
this question, what am I going to say?
-
Or if you ask me some other question, how am I going to
-
answer? He must have rehearsed different
-
situations in his mind hundreds of times.
-
Every time he was praying. Oh my God, I need your favor.
-
Give me favor in the sight of this man.
-
He is prays in chapter 1. Give me favor in the sight of
-
this man. Why that favour is going to
-
change the situation. That favour is going to change
-
the situation. So here we see the king said to
-
me, what is it you want? So the moment he, the king says,
-
what is it you want? You know, most of the times in
-
the in the Old Testament, you see kings always asked, what do
-
you want? Up to half my Kingdom.
-
Because if they don't, they don't want to give more than
-
half the Kingdom. They want to give half of the
-
Kingdom. That's what you see so many
-
times. Queen Esther goes, what do you
-
want? Up to half my Kingdom.
-
Is he going to give half of the Kingdom?
-
Is she going to ask for it? No, that's just a gesture of
-
generosity. And kings always have behaved
-
with generosity. But this fear in the heart of
-
Nehemiah to go and ask about it. But he can be a professionally a
-
cup bearer having a high trusted position and he has access to
-
handing over the drink, the wine and he he will be trusted with
-
many other things as well. You know, you go to a Barber, he
-
does a lot of little talk. He may begin from the big
-
beautiful bill and he may talk about so many other things, but
-
they do the little talk. Same way he doesn't care whether
-
you are a professor, whether you are a plumber, the Barber
-
doesn't care, but he gets into the talk.
-
Same way you have access to the king and you do talk.
-
And sometimes kings can talk what is close to their heart
-
with the cup bearer and cup bearer.
-
Cup bearer must have intelligence enough to have a
-
meaningful conversation with the king.
-
Its not a simple job, that's what I'm trying to say.
-
It's not a simple job. A cup bearer, take the cup, give
-
to the king. It doesn't require any great
-
intelligence, but because of the sensitiveness of the position,
-
the cup bearer has to be intelligent enough, trustworthy,
-
sincere and he overseas from the time the grapes are planted,
-
Grapevine is planted until the harvest and the wine is made.
-
He he is responsible for his purity, he is responsible for
-
its quality and is responsible for making sure that is given in
-
the purest form to the king to make him happy.
-
He is a responsible position. So because of that, now King
-
could say what is it you want? But you know when he says what
-
is it you want? Up to half of his Kingdom,
-
whatever it is, I'm just joking, but he is disposed to grant
-
whatever he's going to ask. Just think about Christians, you
-
are going to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords.
-
We have boldness to enter into the very presence of God prone
-
room of God. You know that's a great
-
privilege. Its a great privilege for a
-
Christian to go and pray in the presence of King of Kings, Lord
-
of Lords. And so many times we are not
-
having the reverence that we need to have in the presence of
-
God. This man is in the presence of
-
another man, but he has reverence, he has fear, and he
-
is able to address him as Long live king.
-
And then he says, why should I not be sad?
-
This is the happening. And then now king says, OK, what
-
do you want? If a king, a human king can
-
connect with a cup bear and say, what do you want?
-
And when you go in prayer, will the king of kings, Lord of Lords
-
create of the whole universe? And he will he not say what do
-
you want? Will he say it or not?
-
Can I hear something little bit louder?
-
What do you want? You need to know in order to
-
when that question comes, you need to know and that answer
-
comes from prayer. That answer comes from prayer.
-
He prayed for 3-4 months long and he rehearsed every situation
-
and when the King asked what do you want, immediately He gives
-
us the list of things that he wants in prayer.
-
There are different ways of praying and in particular there
-
is a book called 4th Dimension, if you ever have heard about it,
-
written by a David Yangicho. And in that he says when you go
-
to God and you ask for, let's say a pulpit, you want, you tell
-
him what exactly you want. You want it in blue color, you
-
want it so much of length, so much of breadth, so much of
-
height. He says that is how you imagine
-
and look into the situation and say what exactly you want, ask
-
God specifically and that is how God gives.
-
I mean fully 100% with that theory, I am, I may not be, but
-
just one of the ways you pray and I tell you, I encourage you
-
to sit down and think what do you want God to do for you?
-
And that answer that you give to God, what do you want when you
-
ask is going to depend on what is going to happen in your life,
-
rest of your life. Your life is going to change
-
based on what answer to God. You should know what to ask and
-
you will know it only through prayer.
-
What to ask will come only through prayer.
-
So here he prayed to the God of heaven.
-
Then I prayed to the God of heaven and I answered the king,
-
How much time you think Nehemiah had to pray to the God of
-
Heaven? Suppose he closed his eyes with
-
the king said, what do you want? He closed his eyes, let me think
-
his head will be gone, head will be gone next second, take him
-
out. He's contemplating something bad
-
about me. King will think so.
-
He had fraction of a second because he prayed for three to
-
four months. That prepared him to have that
-
one second prayer. Lord, be with me now and
-
immediately He says this is what I want.
-
The long prayer prepares you for short times of prayer.
-
It is not the other way around. You cannot say somebody good
-
morning God in the morning. Good afternoon.
-
I hope you had a good, good day so far.
-
Good evening. I suppose you really had a
-
fantastic day. Is that how you pray to God?
-
I know some guys they say, oh, I pray three times, what do you
-
pray? I just say I pray for my
-
business, I pray for this, I pray for that.
-
I said you are not praying when you put your heart into prayer.
-
You will sweat out when you are groaning in the presence of God.
-
You will not be the same when you get up because something of
-
God will be rubbed on you. Your heart will carry the burden
-
of Gods heart. Your mind will be enlightened by
-
the consents of God and you will have a purpose and you will have
-
a power to do what you want to do.
-
Because you have spent the powerful time in the presence of
-
God, you cannot pray and be the same.
-
You cannot be, you cannot be praying and be the same because
-
prayer is supposed to change you, not God.
-
Because God is changed us. If he changes, he is not God.
-
Sometimes you will see in the scripture God repented change
-
his mind when he created man, when they became sinful and he
-
set the flood and finished the whole race except that Noah and
-
his family. Did God really change his mind?
-
Did he really repent about making the man?
-
It is called anthropomorphism. In theology you attribute human
-
qualities to God to understand and explain things.
-
Its not that he needed a change, not that he repented.
-
He had all things planned beforehand.
-
He is the lamb that is laid before the foundation of the
-
world. He made the answer before you
-
have a problem. So he prayed to the God of
-
heaven, and I answered the king. If it pleases the king, and if a
-
servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the
-
city. In Judah everybody says send me.
-
When you want answer to God, When you want answer from God,
-
you must be willing to be involved in the answer.
-
If you don't want to be part of Gods plan, if you don't want
-
Gods part of Gods answer. What are you praying about
-
South? What am I saying here is if we
-
begin to pray, revival will come.
-
This is the time God wants to bless the whole world.
-
What are we doing as Christians? Since 3 weeks I am shouting and
-
asking. I want to see people who will
-
volunteer to come for one hour of prayer.
-
One hour you may say no, no, I want to be in my home.
-
I want to do it. I will join you on the what is
-
Zoom meeting. I don't believe in it.
-
I'm telling you honestly before you, I don't believe in Zoom
-
meeting. They will start the meeting,
-
turn off the camera and go in the kitchen and do their job.
-
So if you care for God, I want you to come physically for one
-
hour. If it is 7 to 8, seven to 87, it
-
will start, 8, it will end. That's all.
-
No preaching, nothing. You will come there and pray for
-
one hour. Pour out your heart.
-
Pour out your heart because God, we need the revival of the
-
church, we need revival of the city.
-
That's what you're going to pray.
-
We want God to move. Put his finger in your own life,
-
in your own family, in your own children.
-
Though things are going to change after the 21 days of
-
prayer, things cannot be the same.
-
Why? You have come to the King of
-
Kings who answer you, and he says, what do you want?
-
And if you know what you want, you will get it.
-
If you don't know what you want, you will not get it.
-
Simple. It's very simple.
-
You should know what you want. So what do you want?
-
And he says, send me to the city in Judah where my father's are
-
buried, so that I can rebuild it.
-
Send me. That's the first thing he says.
-
And second thing is then the king with the queen sitting
-
beside him, you know, this is very important thing.
-
This is not a public banquet where king is available, all his
-
officials are available. In that situation, queen will
-
not be present. This is a private event where
-
the king is sitting with the queen and he's in a good mood
-
now. And he asked him what do you
-
want? And he said what do you want?
-
Send me. And then he, he with the queen
-
beside him, he asks the next question.
-
What is the question He asks him?
-
How long will your journey take and when will you get back?
-
How long will it take for you to go and come back?
-
That simply when he said those words, when he asked that
-
question, Nehemiah is intelligent enough to understand
-
that the king is disposed to give the grant the request that
-
he is going to ask. So next words he says it pleases
-
the king to send me, so I set a time.
-
He doesn't tell you how long he set a time.
-
Did he say next year I will come back?
-
Maybe because it used to take three to four months to travel
-
and you do the job, you have to come back another three to four
-
months to travel. So he must have said one year
-
probably, and king must have said OK, go.
-
But in the book of Nehemiah itself, we don't have a record
-
as to when he went back until you read in the chapter 5
-
somewhere. He visited Suisa, the capital,
-
after 12 years. Did he tell the king I am going
-
away for 12 years? I don't think so.
-
But it doesn't necessarily mean again that he never went back in
-
between. He could have after the 52 days
-
the walls were reconstructed. Then he would have said, OK,
-
let's put let's make sure the government is going well, that
-
the enemies of Judah, enemies of Israelites are all in the right
-
place and he must have staying in the position and they put the
-
administration in the right direction.
-
He see was just running it right and he must have said OK.
-
Then he called his own brother Hanani, who brought the news and
-
made it the governor in his place.
-
And then he shoots back to capital of Sousa 3 months again
-
on foot or courses or donkey or whatever.
-
And he goes back and comes back, goes and comes in between.
-
But it's not recorded for us because it is not possible for
-
him to be absent for 12 long years and still retain his
-
position. So he must have made short
-
trips, go there, serve the king for season 3 months, six months,
-
give the cup again, say OK its time for me to go back again.
-
Let me go and see what what is happening there.
-
So for 12 years he was there as a governor and he goes back to
-
capital of Susa. So he says verse 7 onwards.
-
I also said to him, if it pleases the king, may I have
-
letters to the governors of Trans Euphrates so they will
-
provide me safe conduct until I arrive in Judah.
-
Now he wants letters of recommendation or authority
-
letters. So he is having authority in his
-
hand, and what is what else he wants?
-
May I have letter to Asaf, keeper of the Kings Forest, so
-
that I will. So he will give me timber to
-
make beams for the gates of the citadel, but the temple and for
-
the city walls and for the residents I will occupy.
-
He wants to build his house, he needs timber.
-
He wants to build the temple, he needs timber.
-
He wants to set up the gates, he needs a timber.
-
He is asking for enough timber that he will need from the from
-
Asif who is in charge of Kings Forest.
-
So Nehemiah has done a lot of groundwork, lot of research.
-
Who is the in charge there of the forest?
-
He founded the name Asif. Oh, I need a letter to Asif.
-
In between you cross through so many, so many different satraps
-
and everywhere there will be a governor and they can stop this
-
guy and say, hey, where are you going?
-
Here is the letter. I have it from the king to go to
-
Judah to Jerusalem. You can't stop me.
-
Not only that, he had with him cavalry to support him.
-
You see there. And because of the gracious hand
-
of my God was upon me, the king granted me requests, plural, not
-
one many requests. He got her everything.
-
And then so I went to the governors of transportation and
-
gave them the kings letters. The king had also sent army
-
officers and cavalry with me. You not only travel, but it is
-
safety. You need protection.
-
So he has asked for cavalry and army officers to go with him to
-
Judah. A long journey.
-
You know there are different styles of leadership.
-
Nehemiah is a leader, he is a born a leader and here from
-
being a cup bearer he is transitioning to become a
-
governor. How can you dare if you if you
-
if you met Nehemiah and he talked his plans.
-
I want to ask king and I want to go as a governor to You are a
-
cup bearer and you want to become a governor.
-
Tomorrow you will open your mouth and be surprised, But I
-
tell you, when your heart is filled with God's purpose, when
-
your heart is filled with the with the plan of God, purposes
-
of God, your heart will be so stirred up that nothing will
-
look too unachievable for you from cup bearer.
-
You will become a governor overnight.
-
And the Word of God says God has made each believer a royal
-
priesthood, holy nation. Gods own people.
-
You are a priest and you are a king.
-
That's what you are. You are a priest and a king and
-
you are approaching the throne of grace boldly.
-
And you should know what to ask. And I tell you what, prayer is
-
not something you do occasionally.
-
Oh, I prayed last six months ago.
-
I prayed 6 months ago. What were you doing all other
-
days? Is not something that you do
-
occasionally. No, it is something like
-
breathing. You cannot exist without
-
breathing. Try it for the next one minute.
-
Hold your breath. You will fall off your chair.
-
But I'm telling you, as breathing is so important for
-
existence, so is the prayer. Life is important for a
-
Christian. You need to be praying, you need
-
to be praying, you need to be praying in order to survive as a
-
successful Christian. The one who can put the limits
-
to the devil and say, hey, you cannot come beyond this line.
-
And if you want to do that and walk in authority, which Jesus
-
has already given before you were born, before you were asked
-
for the authority, Jesus already gave you power of attorney,
-
power of attorney. You know what it is?
-
Once you get a power of attorney, like if I have
-
property, I can give power of attorney to somebody and they
-
can sell the property in my name.
-
They can do whatever like they like with the property that I, I
-
make them, I give them power of attorney.
-
And God has given you the power of attorney.
-
Jesus has given you power of attorney.
-
When Jesus said, he who believes in me will do what I have done,
-
and greater works than this shall He do.
-
He has given you authority already before you ask, before
-
it entered your mind. He has given you authority and
-
He has given you safety. He said, behold, I give you
-
authority to trade up on snakes, scorpion, all the power, the
-
enemy, nothing by any means will harm you.
-
That's what Nehemiah asked for, safety, protection and
-
authority. And Jesus is giving you safety,
-
protection, authority. And he's given you the Holy
-
Spirit to be your guide, to go before you, to show you the way,
-
to give you strength in the times of weakness, to give you
-
wisdom when you're not knowing what to ask for, what to do.
-
He is there with you, in you. I tell you how much I got fired
-
last night. I can't tell you.
-
There's still time. That's good.
-
So now how was how was Nehemiah fulfilling the prophetic time
-
timeline 95 years before Nehemiah stood in the presence
-
of the king and asked for permission.
-
Daniel had told can we put the scripture up please Daniel
-
chapter 924 to 27, 70 weeks, 70 sevens are decreed for your
-
people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an
-
end to sin, to attend for wickedness, to bring in
-
everlasting righteousness, to seal a vision and prophecy, and
-
to anoint the most holy place. No one understand this.
-
From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
-
until the anointed 1 the ruler comes, there will be 7 sevens
-
and 62 sevens. It will be rebuilt with streets
-
and trench. But in times of trouble after
-
the 62 sevens the anointed 1 will come.
-
This is spoken by Daniel 95 years before Nehemiah went and
-
asked for permission to rebuild the walls.
-
What does it say here in the? No one understand this from the
-
time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
-
until the anointed one. The timeline begins to tick from
-
the time the decree goes out to rebuild Jerusalem, to rebuild
-
Jerusalem. If you look into the history
-
three other times the Persian kings have issued A decree.
-
The Cyrus said go back, he sent the people back to Jerusalem,
-
first people to return and two other times, but no one time it
-
is mentioned to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
-
This is the time. So the timeline begins from
-
here. This happened in the month of
-
March 5th I think 444 BC and he was in the Press of the King and
-
asked for permission to go and rebuild the walls.
-
And the timeline of Daniels prophecy began to tick from that
-
day onwards. Because when he put down the
-
number of years it will come to AD 33.
-
That is the day Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a humble
-
donkey, colt of a donkey, and he appeared to the Jewish people or
-
the nation of Israel as the Messiah, and then he was
-
specified after three days exactly fulfillment of the
-
prophecy of Daniel. What is the role of Nehemiah?
-
A simple guy, a cupbearer. He went and asked king for
-
permission to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
-
Did he have a revelation? Did the Angel appear to him?
-
Did you have a dream? What made Nehemiah to kick start
-
the prophetic events in his life?
-
Just because he was concerned for Jerusalem, its wars that
-
have been broken down and the gates that have been burned
-
down. His heart was aching, he was
-
weeping and praying and he wanted to do the right thing
-
because of the knowledge that he had.
-
And he goes to the king and asked for the permission.
-
And when the King says OK, go, what Daniel decreed 95 years ago
-
began to happen. Jesus is coming back soon.
-
He is coming back very soon. And my question is, what do you
-
want to do like Nehemiah did? What should you be doing like
-
Nehemiah did? You though you don't have a
-
prophecy, you don't have a revelation, you don't have a
-
word. Nothing is happening
-
supernaturally. But what you can do is pray like
-
Nehemiah did, so that you will become that answer to Gods plan
-
in the end times. That's why we are saying,
-
brothers and sisters, we need to begin to pray and I'll give you
-
a few instances of how prayer changed things and then we will
-
close. There was a Moravian revival in
-
the year 1727 in Germany. Count Zinsen Dorf prayed
-
together with bunch of people 24 by 7.
-
Prayer chain began and lasted over 100 years.
-
What started as a small prayer meeting lasted for how long?
-
100 years. And a modern missionary movement
-
was born through Zinandar prayers.
-
And one of them that was influenced by Count Zinandar is
-
John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church.
-
So when you begin to pray, you must say what is there in for
-
me? What is my benefit?
-
God will bless you, God will bless you, your children, your
-
family, your business. He will bless you, your health,
-
He will bless you. It is just a natural thing to
-
happen when you come into the presence of God.
-
Everything that belongs to will be touched by God.
-
Take my word after 21 days, if you have don't have a testimony,
-
come and tell me. There will be a testimony.
-
Everybody will have a testimony. Why?
-
Because you have gone into the presence of the King of Kings,
-
Lord of Lords, and you have asked and he says, what do you
-
want? He's saying, what do you want?
-
1790 to 1718 forty in the in the in the United States and Great
-
Britain, John Eskind called for united prayer.
-
And as the prayer started, there's one man was touched by
-
the prayer movement, Jonathan Edwards.
-
And through Jonathan Edwards, God brought a mighty revival in
-
America, mighty revival. He was a man whose vision was
-
very, very poor. Imagine his picks and you coming
-
a horn coming out of the sticks, the glass.
-
And he had a candlelight on the pulpit, and he wrote a message
-
on the paper, and he came and read it with great difficulty
-
under the candlelight. He was reading the message.
-
Sinners in the hands of angry God.
-
And the people were so convicted of their sin.
-
They were holding the walls and the pillars and say, Fall on us,
-
fall on us. We cannot face the King of the
-
kings, Lord of Lords, his holy presence.
-
And they repented, and the revival was born.
-
People were saved that night. Prayer breeds revival.
-
Prayer beats revival. Then in the year 1857 to 1859 in
-
New York, America, there was a man called Jeremiah Lanfear.
-
He was a businessman, not a not a pastor.
-
He was not a priest, He's not a pastor.
-
And he was just a businessman. And he started called for prayer
-
in the afternoon, maybe at work. He said, OK, let's all gather
-
the lunchtime and let's pray. And that became a moment of
-
prayer all over. It happened in Manhattan.
-
It spread across America. And then after the things were
-
going on for some time, 1,000,000 people were converted
-
in America because one simple man, a businessman, said, let us
-
pray in the afternoon. Let us pray in the afternoon.
-
One more. You were thinking, oh, when is
-
he going to finish? One more.
-
This is happening in Scotland. Hebrides revival, 1949 to 1952,
-
Scottish Hebrides Islands. Two women, Peggy and Christine
-
Smith, they prayed for revival. Just two women.
-
They started praying for revival and churches were filled at all
-
times. Every church you go, morning
-
8:00 people are there. 6:00 people are there.
-
Night 10:00 people are there. Why?
-
Because two women are praying for revival.
-
The whole country is filled with people in every church is full
-
of people. Because two women started
-
praying for revival and people are convicted of sin.
-
People are repenting and being born again.
-
The question is, do you want to be a Nehemiah and say, Lord, we
-
are in the end times. We need a reviver.
-
We need the reviver. We need your visitation.
-
We are here, my Lord, we are here.
-
We want to commit others to pray for one hour, and if you only do
-
this for 21 days, I believe you'll get hooked to it after 21
-
days to keep praying. That thing that you start now is
-
not going to end in your own life.
-
It is not going to end. Are you prophesying?
-
Yes, I am prophesying. It is not going to end in your
-
life. That prayer is going to change
-
you, your family, your children, your business, your finances.
-
It is going to change the city you are living in.
-
It is going to change the church you are part of.
-
It is going to change everything because you are coming into the
-
King of Kings and asking for what you want to ask.
-
And he is asking what do you want?
-
And you should know what to ask. Are you prepared, are you
-
prepared for this revival to come to the city of
-
Christchurch? And if you, if you say yes, then
-
we are going to have a great time of 21 days of prayer.
-
It is very hard. I'm telling you, you will skip
-
in between. Don't worry about it.
-
Just come. If you can come, it will be
-
great. Don't worry about the petrol,
-
don't worry about driving. Just come because you are going
-
to see God move powerfully in your life in this church, in
-
this city. And that's why we need this 21
-
days of prayer. I only wish that the Lord will
-
put that burden so permanently that we will not stop until we
-
see the revival, until we see the revival.
-
So just by obedient, just being obedient to God and become a man
-
and a woman of prayer, you are going to partner with the plan
-
of God, purpose of God for these end times.
-
And if you agree with me, shout at Amen.
-
Let us pray. Thank you, Jesus, we thank you
-
for your word. Thank you for challenging us
-
through the life of Nehemiah. Oh, my father, he was just a
-
cupbearer, but he was a daring to believe to become a governor
-
and he was daring to believe to bring change to the city of
-
Jerusalem was to be rebuilt, temple to be reconstructed,
-
degree to be restored. My Lord, my God, I pray now,
-
Father, that the Church. The say the church in this
-
modern days is like that fallen down Jerusalem.
-
Walls are broken down, gates are borne down and the church is
-
still sleeping in the name of Jesus Christ of another, I pray
-
that you'll put that hand, nail Pierce hand on the heart of your
-
children. Now touch them, wake them up.
-
I pray, Father, jolt them, shake them until your children will
-
get up on their knees and say my God and cry out to you and see
-
the power far from heaven and you want to commit yourself to
-
prayer. The 21 days coming 21 days.
-
I just want you to stand where you are and I'm going to, I want
-
to pray for you. There is a cost, there is a
-
cost. There is a cost.
-
When you pay the cost, it is not going to go waste.
-
It is not going to go waste because this is what you are
-
sowing and you are going to reap. 100% guarantee return.
-
100% guarantee return. It is not going to be waste.
-
Thank you Jesus, as your children are responding, I pray
-
that this prayer movement will be born to the glory of your
-
name. Sabarana mande Kara sectares
-
astorono ho robo shamaraste sandaranamanasto Rojo secaba
-
Mara re shamarahandasta kurando rosterer mandasta kuroni.
-
The Lord says I am going to remove sickness from between
-
you. After this time of prayer, I am
-
going to say no more delay, no more, no more, no more delay of
-
the things that you've been wanting things to happen.
-
There will not be any more delay.
-
It is going to be different, says The Lord Is going to be
-
different. I am going to put my finger on
-
everyone of you who is going to pray and I am going to change
-
you and you will become a governor, not a cupbearer
-
anymore. We worship you, we praise you,
-
Lord, thank you for this. Thank you for this, O Lord, your
-
word, and thank you for the presence of the Holy Spirit who
-
convicts us and who catapults us into that space where we will
-
become mighty warriors in faith to the glory of your name.
-
You're coming very soon and help us to become the right kind of a
-
church to the glory of your name.
-
In Jesus name we have asked and everybody says Amen.
