-
Hallelujah. That's it.
-
Very good. So we are continuing your study
-
from the book of Galatians chapter 2.
Galatians 2 chapter mention
-
We finished until was 10 last week.
-
We will continue from 11 onwards.
-
Now this is a very important scripture portion and we have
-
seen how Paul was very passionate to preserve the
-
gospel, the truth of the gospel, and didn't want to compromise.
-
But here we see sometimes leaders also make mistake.
-
Can leaders make mistake? Yes.
-
So here is a leader, Peter the Apostle, and he is visiting
-
these people at Antioch. So when Peter came to Antioch, I
-
oppose him to his face because he was clearly in the wrong.
-
Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the
-
Gentiles, but when they arrived he began to draw back and
-
separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid
-
of those who belong to the circumcision group.
-
So what is happening here is that Peter has come to visit the
-
people of Antioch, the church at Antioch, and he is now, he's
-
there for some time. So every day he would mingle
-
with everybody, Jews and Gentiles, and eat with them, sit
-
with them, have fellowship, talk, preach, everything is
-
going normal. Suddenly what happened is a
-
certain group of people, they came from Jerusalem to Antioch,
-
and they said that they belong to the Apostle James or
-
followers of Apostle James. But is it possible that Apostle
-
James would have done it? Would he have said go and check
-
on Peter whether he is eating with Gentiles or not?
-
I don't think so. Because in Acts chapter 15 we
Acts 15 chapter mention
-
have, we have done this study before acts #15 James was the
-
one who gave a final verdict about what Gentiles should do,
-
that they should abstain from meat offered to idols and they
-
should not eat strangled animals with blood, avoid the blood and
-
avoid fornication. So that these are the only few
-
things he put on the Gentiles. Now what is the problem here?
-
Does it say they cannot eat food with Gentiles in that agreement?
-
No. So some people saw a loophole in
-
the direction and they came and they acted as if James sent
-
them. But when they came and started
-
influencing Peter, Peter got afraid, you know, and then he
-
withdrew, withdrew from the Gentiles.
-
He started eating separate. Like today everybody is sitting
-
and eating and suddenly you see Peter gets away from here and
-
sits separately and eats because he doesn't want to eat the
-
Gentiles. So Paul saw it and then came and
-
confronted Peter, confronted Peter, say you are wrong.
-
Now, if he did not do, what would happen?
-
If Paul did not confront Peter, what would happen?
-
The gospel will be compromised, the truth will be compromised.
-
That's the reason why Paul had to confront him.
-
So the problem with Peter is not a new problem, is it a new
-
problem? No, this is his nature.
-
He has been like that before he became a an apostle.
-
He has been from the building like that.
-
I would say he would just be like a pendulum.
-
He will be on one end one day and next within one second he
-
will go swing to the other end. Let's look at some of the
-
instances where Peter had changed, let's say when he was
-
talking. I mean Jesus asked, who do you
-
say I am? You are the Son of the living
-
God. And Jesus said flesh and blood
-
has not revealed this to you. Flesh and blood has not
-
revealed. This is from the revelation from
-
my Father. And then after some time he says
-
when Jesus is talking about, he says Son of Man will be betrayed
-
into the hands of the Gentiles. They are going to crucify him.
-
They are going to kill him. He takes him from the crowd and
-
says, takes him aside and says this will not happen to you.
-
No, no, no, it's not going to happen to you.
-
Then Jesus looks at him and said, get behind me, Satan.
-
Get behind me Satan, because one moment he is receiving
-
revelation from the Father that Jesus is the Son of the living
-
God, and the next moment says you will not face the cross,
-
which is against the will of the Father.
-
So sometimes we can have some kinds is not always possible,
-
but sometimes leaders can disappoint.
-
And here is an example of Peter swinging from one end to the
-
other revelation that is from the Father to being influenced
-
by the devil 100%. So from being influenced by the
-
Holy Spirit is going to the other extreme of being
-
influenced by the devil. And then he is also a man who we
-
are not trying to put some mud on Peter to make him look very,
-
very bad. No, that's not our purpose.
-
The purpose here is that we all have some of the Peters
-
characteristics. One day we are up spiritually,
-
another day we are down spiritually.
-
Today we are winning over our struggles and next day we are
-
being losing the defeat. We are losing our battle to the
-
devil and losing it. I prayed for a man 343 days ago
-
and he was struggling with an issue and I prayed for him to be
-
delivered and only this morning I wake up to see the phone and
-
he says I fell in my sin again. So I knew that the prayer that I
-
prayed is not 100% effective in the sense he is not fully set
-
free. So when I go home I'm going to
-
tell him hey we need to pray again.
-
Its not, it's not yet over. The battle is not yet over.
-
So the point I'm trying to make is there will be this kind of a
-
up and down in Christian life, but we need to learn to walk
-
with God in a steady way. It has to be a straight line,
-
not a wave, up and down wave, so that we have to learn.
-
So some people think it is automatic.
-
You should just believe in Jesus.
-
Everything is going to disable. All your problems will be gone,
-
your temptations will be gone. You become a St. overnight.
-
It doesn't happen because we have the same soul still.
-
The day before your conversion, the soul you have is the same
-
soul you have. The after conversion.
-
That soul needs to be submitted. That soul needs to be
-
surrendered to Jesus. It has to be crucified and we
-
have to train the soul, we have to train the body.
-
The flesh is the same. The day before he was born again
-
is the same body you have after the day you are born again.
-
So that flesh which was doing things is going to continue to
-
want to do the same things. And you have to tell the flesh,
-
no, you are dead, you cannot do the same things.
-
So what? What am I trying to say?
-
There is a place for dedication, there's a place for resisting,
-
there's a place for changing your habits.
-
Habit. It doesn't become.
-
You don't get a habit in a day, do you?
-
You had to do it repeatedly. Even the most alcoholic person
-
who talked to him the very first time you tasted alcohol, what
-
was it like? Ah, it wasn't so nice.
-
Then why did you become alcoholic?
-
Because I kept drinking and drinking until it became nice to
-
me. It's just like that.
-
Most of the sins are like that. You first time you commit, you,
-
you're, you have a conscience. You feel guilty about it.
-
You don't want to do it, you want to stop it.
-
But again, a second time you do. A third time we do, the
-
conscience is dead. It will not tell you anything
-
anymore now. And you are free to do the same
-
thing any number of times. We kill our conscience when we
-
keep doing the very things our consciousness not to do.
-
So that is how it is. Now look at this man.
-
He is now going back in the in the boat and in the middle of
-
the night they were rowing against the wind and it was very
-
difficult. And Jesus is going passing by,
-
walking on the sea and they thought he is a ghost.
-
They cry out and Jesus says no, I am the same.
-
I am not a ghost, I am Jesus. If you are Jesus, ask me to walk
-
on the water and come to you. OK, come.
-
He is the only disciple who had the courage to walk on water.
-
Were there not other disciples? Did they say we want to walk as
-
you are walking? So there's good thing about
-
Peter. We must have that characteristic
-
of Peter where we want to try and walk on water and to take up
-
the challenge. Only problem is he looked at the
-
wind and the waves. They did not stop, but he was
-
able to walk on the same water. The same wind, same waves did
-
not stop him from walking, but when he looked at them, he began
-
to sink. Your problems can be there, but
-
you don't look at the problem. Don't focus on the problems.
-
If you want to walk on water, don't focus on your problems.
-
That's very simple. You focus on the problem.
-
You are not going to walk on water.
-
So that is how it is. And this man 1 moment is walking
-
on water, another moment is sinking.
-
Jesus saved me and Jesus reached out into his hand, picked him up
-
and pulled him up and brought him to the boat again.
-
So one time it is something like that and justice before in the
-
Garden of Gethsemane, and when the people came to arrest Jesus,
-
he was impulsive, took out the sword that he had, and I cut off
-
the ear of the high priest servant, chop one second, the
-
ear is gone, is on the ground. And Jesus had to tell him, put
-
that sword back in the sheath, and then he took the ear and put
-
the man's ear and healed it. Even the last moment.
-
Jesus is the one who wants to heal.
-
He wants to heal and do miracles not because anything.
-
That is His nature. He is God and He cannot be any
-
other way. He was 100% man, 100% God and He
-
was wanting to do naturally what He would do.
-
Even though He is not going to be arrested, He will do the same
-
thing and He will do the same thing today.
-
He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
-
So he was an impulsive guy, foot washing just before, you know,
-
you see that in the scripture, before he was betrayed, before
-
he was, I mean, arrested. He wanted to tell the people
-
that his disciples some valuable lesson.
-
So he made them sit around and he tied a towel around his waist
-
and he took a basin of water, came to each one and wash their
-
feet and dried with the cloth and then goes to the next and
-
the next. And he comes to Peter.
-
Peter says no, no, no, you cannot wash my feet, Jesus.
-
And if I don't wash your feet, then you have no part in me.
-
OK, Is that so? Give me a bath now.
-
So one second he's here, another second he's here.
-
So today what you are seeing Peters behavior is he does not
-
mean he was not a man of God. He was a man of God.
-
And you see in Acts chapter 5 when he is walking on the
Acts 5 chapter mention
-
streets, people laid the sick on the roadside so that the shadow
-
of Peter may fall upon them, so that some of them will be
-
healed. Everybody on whom the shadow
-
fell was healed. He is the man who was full of
-
the power of God. But when he look at the man, as
-
he looked at the waves, he looked at the men who came from
-
Jerusalem claiming to be men from James.
-
And he was afraid. He was afraid, influenced by
-
people. So he withdrew from fellowship
-
with Gentiles and started eating separately.
-
And Paul looked at the whole situation and said, Hey, Peter,
-
is Peter senior to Paul? Yeah.
-
He's been apostle from the beginning.
-
He was with Jesus for 3 1/2 years.
-
And did he deny him? Yeah.
-
I don't know him. Oh, you guys, what you're
-
saying? I don't know at all.
-
I don't know him. I don't know him.
-
I don't know him. He denied him three times.
-
And when when Jesus was there being questioned by the thing
-
and when he was denying, he looked at Peter through the
-
crowd. And Peter knew what Jesus meant
-
and he went out and he was convicted of his sin.
-
He cried, he cried, he cried, and then he was restored.
-
And even before that, Jesus himself says you are going to
-
deny me. You are going to tell me 3
-
times. And afterwards when you are
-
restored, take care of the sheep.
-
That means there was a comfort even in the last minute.
-
Jesus says that's not your end, you deny me is not the end of
-
your life. You disappointed me is not the
-
end of your life. You have failed me is not the
-
end of your life. And today God is telling
-
somebody here, your failure is not final.
-
Your failure is not final. He wants to give you a life in
-
the Spirit, walking in the Spirit victorious over sin and
-
Satan is not end is not the end. So this this Peter, he when he
-
walked, he shouted fell on the people.
-
It healed in chapter 5. And now when you come back to
-
chapter whatever, maybe after chapter a few more chapter 10
-
chapters here or 11 chapters, he is now withdrawing from the
-
crowd. I don't think he's really
-
actually written in Acts. It's only here in Galatians
-
about this instance and here Paul had to confront him.
-
Paul is much younger in age and much younger in his walk with
-
the Lord and in being an apostle.
-
Peter was senior to Paul, but it he did not stop Paul from
-
confronting a senior servant of God, an apostle For us.
-
Sometimes we say if there's a senior pastor and assistant
-
pastor, assistant pastor will not dare to go and tell the
-
senior pastor, Sir, you are wrong.
-
It is very hard. If he, if he says that, he will
-
say OK, out of the door. So many churches are like that
-
happening. But we must have humility to
-
receive correction. We must have humility to receive
-
correction, which Peter had. Peter had the humility.
-
He repented of it. He didn't repeat it.
-
But you know what great lessons with great cost did not stop
-
this man from fluctuating. Why in Acts chapter 10, when he
Acts 10 chapter mention
-
wanted to, when he was before he went into Cornelius house, what
-
happened? He had a vision when he was
-
waiting in the Tanners house, Simon, the Tanners house, he had
-
a vision. And in the vision he saw heaven
-
open and the sheet laid down and there were so many kinds of
-
animals and unclean animals in it, snakes and all kinds of
-
unclean animals. And he heard a voice saying,
-
Peter, raw rice, get up, kill and eat because he was hungry at
-
that time and the food was cooking downstairs.
-
He was upstairs and the smell must be wafted into the air and
-
increase his hunger. And he fell into a trance and he
-
heard the voice saying, arise, kill and eat.
-
And what did Peter say? Lord, nothing unclean has
-
entered this mouth. And then God says don't call
-
unclean what God has called clean.
-
And this happened how many times?
-
Three times the sheet came down. He hears the voice, He says, I
-
cannot eat it. I never eaten anything unclean.
-
And God says don't call unclean what God has called clean.
-
So after this such powerful lesson, maybe after another six
-
months or two years, less than two years, he is travelling from
-
Jerusalem to Antioch, only to separate himself by looking at
-
some people, few people, not a big crowd, not the whole church,
-
just some men from James. He looks at them and he was
-
afraid and started withdrawing from the rest of the believers,
-
was eating separately. Until then he was eating every
-
day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, he was eating with everybody.
-
But when he saw the men, he withdrew and Paul had to
-
confront him. So he before certain men came
-
from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles.
-
He used to eat is that's what the NIV says.
-
And when you look into the Greek imp imperfect tense, it means it
-
was happening all the time. It's just every day was
-
happening. It was every day happening.
-
He was eating with everybody, sitting on, eating with
-
everybody. And then it changed.
-
So the problem, what is the problem with sin, what is the
-
problem with any kind of a mistake is it spreads to other
-
people. It has got a what effect is that
-
cascading effect? So there is somebody with him,
-
Barnabas, who was actually a companion of Paul and who was
-
who took leadership in bringing power from obscurity, from being
-
unknown, to bring him to the church and to make him a
-
powerful tool in the church. And Burnabus himself was carried
-
away into the same mistake and he started joining Peter.
-
And when this happened, Paul lost it and he went straight to
-
Peter and said, Peter, you are wrong in this matter.
-
You are wrong. So we need the kind of those
-
kind of people and the other Jews join him in his hypocrisy
-
so that by the hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.
-
That is what caused Paul more grief.
-
He was not worried about Peter himself, but he was more worried
-
that even Barnabas was joining him.
-
And tomorrow the whole church will become the same thing.
-
And the very purpose for which God chose Paul, the very purpose
-
for which he chose the apostles and to take the gospel to the
-
whole world is going to go into the rubbish bin by that kind of
-
behavior is going to be canned forever.
-
That's the reason why Paul had to stand up for the truth.
-
When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of
-
the gospel, in line with the truth of the gospel.
-
So this is how we have to train our mind.
-
You don't need everything written there.
-
Don't eat pork, don't eat this, don't eat that.
-
You don't need a full, full list of the don'ts.
-
Don't don't. You don't need it.
-
You need to understand the gospel in such a way that when
-
you say something, is it in line with the gospel or is out of
-
line with the gospel, and that is how you train your mind.
-
So some people say, oh, where is it written?
-
You should not drink. Don't worry about where is
-
written. Is it going to help you to be
-
holy? Will it help you to be a
-
prophet? Will help you to raise the rate,
-
will help you to heal somebody? I tell you, whoever is
-
compromising never walks in miracles.
-
No, that is a proof that that thing is not right.
-
You, you want to know how something is right or wrong.
-
You will know by its effect upon you.
-
You will know what it is stopping you from doing.
-
If it is stopping you from becoming like Jesus, that is a
-
sin to you. You don't need somebody write
-
something here. If it is stopping you from
-
becoming like Jesus, that is a sin to you.
-
That is very simple. So I said to Peter in front of
-
the mall, You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and are not
-
like a Jew. How is it then that you force
-
Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?
-
Now this is law versus grace. You have the laws, 10
-
commandments. You are not able to follow it.
-
You are failing it every day. And when you are failing from
-
doing what the law is commanding, you are living like
-
a Gentile. So you are a Jew living like a
-
Gentile. Then why do you force Gentiles
-
live like Jews, which you yourself are not able to walk?
-
Many times when you speak against somebody's behavior,
-
somebody what they have done is wrong and you do the same thing,
-
you are condemning yourself. You don't need a judge with a
-
gavel, bang, bang, bang, you're done wrong.
-
You don't need anybody to say it.
-
You do what you disapprove in somebody, the same moment we are
-
condemning ourselves. That's how it works.
-
So what we see here is very interesting thing I found here
-
is let's say Paul is confronting Peter, But what is said about
-
Paul when you see particularly I'll read from you, from
-
Corinthians, Yeah, comparing Paul and Peter,
-
what we can learn. Paul says I was becoming a Jew
-
to a Jew so that I can win some Jews.
-
I became a like the one like a somebody under a law.
-
I became like one who is under the law to win those who are
-
under the law. And to those who are without the
-
law, I became like 1 without the law so that I can win them too.
-
So how is Paul compromising things different from Peter not
-
eating with the Gentiles? They are two different things.
-
Two different things Paul is doing for a purpose.
-
He's adapting. He's adapting so that the gospel
-
will have more impact, whereas Peters choice of not eating with
-
the Gentiles is actually having a negative effect of
-
discouraging people from believing in the gospel.
-
Authenticity of the gospel is watered down by his withdrawing
-
from the people. So he is adapting for further in
-
the gospel and Peter is doing something to bring down the
-
effect of the gospel. That's why Paul is right and
-
Peter is wrong. Are we together here?
-
Compromise is wrong where it distorts the gospel or creates
-
division. The difference lies in motive,
-
love versus fear. Paul loved the people, so he was
-
going out of his way to show them that he is with them and
-
helping them to encourage to believe in Jesus.
-
Whereas Peter is acting out of fear, not out of love.
-
So this is one of those things, when you are doing something,
-
check in your heart, is it fear that's making you do or is it
-
love that's making you do? If you love somebody, then you
-
are going to do mostly the right thing.
-
But if it's a fear that is making you do something, then
-
you are going to do something that is wrong.
-
So that's why we need to check ourselves.
-
Now, sometimes this whole, this is a very important thing I'm
-
going to talk about is that how do we solve in the generation?
-
How do we live with the authentic Christian life?
-
How do we live? I bring before you an example of
-
a missionary called Hudson Taylor.
-
Anybody heard his name? Hudson Taylor was a missionary
-
to China. So when he went to China, what
-
he did was that he adapted their clothes.
-
He adapted their hairstyle. You know, they shave off in the
-
front and then they have this long hair and they braid the
-
hair in the in the back and to wear their clothes and eat with
-
chopsticks and not live in a luxurious home, but a home like
-
any other Chinese would live. Many of the many of the
-
missionaries, they will have a missionary bungalow, a big
-
palace, a big mansion with many rooms and luxurious lifestyle.
-
It will be inside, it will be America or UK and outside they
-
are living with poor people. That's how you see many
-
missionaries happening. But when Hudson Teller went to
-
China, he said, no, I want to be like them.
-
So he would shave off his friend and put the would take the hair
-
to the back and long hair and braid it and wear those long
-
clothes and eat with chopsticks. Live in a simple, simple home
-
and learn Chinese and different dialects.
-
There's not one language there in the each region has a
-
different language. And he would learn different
-
languages and would preach in Chinese, write in Chinese.
-
When you do that, you are transforming the gospel into a
-
friendly gospel, a gospel that they can receive without
-
suspicion, without fear, without rejection.
-
That is how we have to give flesh to the gospel.
-
You become transformed in a way that the people to whom you are
-
going, they will say this man, he loves me, this man he loves
-
us and he has a authentic message because you are living
-
the gospel before them. So that is how it has to be.
-
Cultural identification has to be done.
-
Language has to be changed. The heart language has to become
-
the local language and then lifestyle simplicity.
-
He lived in Chinese style housing and when people wanted
-
to come as missionary to China, he would tell them, hey, you
-
want to be a white man here when you come from London and be a
-
missionary, I don't want you here.
-
You must be willing to adopt the same lifestyle like I do.
-
So they have to go through this training where they have to
-
learn to eat with chopsticks instead of the fork and the
-
knife and they have to wear those clothes.
-
They have to live in simple housing.
-
It is a rigorous training and no wonder he had a huge mass of
-
missionaries. I think I am from my memory, I
-
think at least 400 missionaries were there who went into all
-
four corners of every corner of China to impact with the gospel.
-
So today you have underground church, but the foundation was
-
laid by Hudson Taylor. Today the church is going
-
through tribulation and is still surviving because somebody laid
-
a strong foundation, unshakable foundation.
-
So we need to be very, very clear about the power of the
-
gospel, its impact, its scope, its its depth, its grander, its
-
glory. I tell you, many Christians
-
don't know the glory of the gospel.
-
We don't know. We should not be ashamed to
-
confess, say I didn't know there many years, even though I was
-
preaching from the Word, I didn't understand the glory of
-
the gospel. It is the power of God to say
-
everybody, everyone, and we need to know the depth and power of
-
the gospel. Only then you, when you speak
-
the authentic gospel will flow out of your lips because it has
-
to be in the heart first. How glorious is the gospel?
-
How powerful is the gospel? We don't know it.
-
Then you will go and say tap on somebody's shoulder.
-
I want to tell you about Jesus for spiritual laws.
-
I'm not talking against for spiritual laws.
-
It has changed many people. It saved many people brought to
-
the Kingdom. It brought many people to the
-
Kingdom. But the point I'm trying to make
-
is it has to go from inside your heart and go out of your mouth.
-
And the person who listens to the gospel will know that this
-
is the truth, the living truth of the living God.
-
And it will come like a revelation to him.
-
It will come like a powerful revelation to him.
-
And that is how it is. It will make an impact upon the
-
person who is listening. Some of us are Christians for
-
1020 years without knowing the power of the Gospel.
-
We don't know how power, how much power is in the bread of
-
Jesus. We don't know how much power in
-
the in the the stripes that he has went through.
-
We don't know how much power is in the cross on which he died.
-
We don't know it. It is time for us to have a
-
fresh look at the cross, a fresh look at the direction of Jesus,
-
a fresh look at the power of the world.
-
We who are Jews by birth and not gentle sinners.
-
He is not trying to put down Gentiles as sinners down.
-
No, it was a usual Jewish language.
-
They are called Gentiles who are non Jew as a Sinner because they
-
did not have the law of God. They did not have the 10
-
commandments. That is the reason why Jews call
-
Gentiles as sinners. But he says we who are Jews by
-
birth and not gentle sinners, know that a man is not justified
-
by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.
-
Hallelujah. You are not saved by obeying the
-
commandments. You are saved by faith in Jesus
-
Christ. Only Jesus plus nothing.
-
Jesus plus nothing, no more of circumcision, no more of doing
-
this. The tabernacles festival of
-
tabernacles are Passover. He is ultimate Passover down in
-
dusted its all over. We have to believe in that
-
Jesus, the historical Jesus who did everything required by the
-
law and he has completed the law.
-
He has satisfied everything He said, Sanam, and came not about
-
His law, but to fulfill every dot and iota, because in the
-
language of Hebrews, in the Hebrew language, a dot can
-
change the whole way. You say something, so you say
-
remove a dot, you will say you have to say differently.
-
You got a dash. You say something and the dash
-
is not there. You say something else.
-
So He came even the invisible things to emphasize the
-
invisible things to emphasize everything.
-
That is what is funny about Hebrew language is there are no
-
vowels in it. You only have consonants, the
-
words. How do you learn?
-
Only by hearing. It is much later.
-
The Masorets, when they came and they translated the Bible, they
-
are the ones who put how to say it and developed a system.
-
You put a dot, it is he. You put this one, it is AO.
-
You don't know otherwise. But Jesus says I came to fulfill
-
every part of the law, and he did it.
-
He did it. Paul, who knew Hebrew and Greek
-
and Aramaic, he knew what Jesus meant when he says he I came to
-
fulfill the law. He knows it.
-
The breadth of it, the depth of it, the power of it.
-
He knew it. So here we see again in verse
-
16, know that a man is not justified by observing the law,
-
but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in
-
Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ,
-
not by observing the law, because by observing the law no
-
one will be justified. No one is going to be justified
-
by observing the law. That's the reason why Jesus came
-
and fulfilled the law for you and me, so that we may receive
-
the righteousness that comes by faith, by believing in Him as if
-
you have followed the law, as if you have followed the law, as
-
you obeyed the law all your life, whatever righteousness you
-
are going to get, He is giving you the moment you believe in
-
Jesus justification by faith. He is one of those doctrines of
-
reformation and that is the one that has split the church from
-
Catholic domination. You have the Protestants
-
justification by faith. Type it in your Google and ask
-
what is justification by faith. You will have all that doctrine
-
of it. Study it, read it.
-
It is it is important tenet or basic faith statement that we
-
all believe and many churches are stopped talking about it.
-
When do they have time to talk about justification by faith?
-
I don't think many churches have a time to talk about it.
-
I tell you is a very basic doctrine on which your faith
-
leaves, stands or false. It's as powerful.
-
It is not just only giving you a clean slate.
-
It's easy to say all your past is gone when you believe in
-
Jesus. What's next?
-
Where do I stand? You are given the righteousness
-
of Jesus so that the moment even the thief on the cross, they
-
said Remember Me in your Kingdom.
-
When he died, he said you will be with me in paradise today.
-
The same second. He did not have time to fight
-
temptations and sanctification and all this kind of process,
-
but the moment on the cross he said Remember Me in your
-
Kingdom. Jesus said you will be with me
-
in paradise today. It is as powerful.
-
The word of Jesus is powerful. What he said to the thief, he is
-
telling to everybody, I am not waiting for you to do this,
-
this, this, this. I give you my righteousness
-
because you believe in what I have done for you and you are
-
ready to receive a reward that is due to a righteous living.
-
When you believe in Jesus and go to the Father, he says well done
-
my son, well done my daughter. I want to reward you for the
-
righteousness that you received from my son and give you the
-
reward for it. The practical implication of
-
doing or obeying the law, doing the things that are demanded by
-
law, or our volitional willful actions.
-
Because we believe we don't do those things because we are
-
going to be saved, because we are saved, we are going to do
-
those things. We cannot divorce the right
-
living and the right confession. You cannot divorce them.
-
Both go together and we cannot. We cannot separate it.
-
The truth of the Gospel 1500 years under the Law of Moses has
-
not changed the people to obey the law.
-
And the Jews are living like Gentiles, those who don't have
-
the law. So was 1516 justification by
-
faith and not by works. Jews have to put their faith in
-
Jesus and are not justified by observing the law.
-
They have to believe in Jesus. Every Jew has to believe in
-
Jesus and every gentle has to believe in Jesus.
-
There's no other way. There's no other way any man can
-
be saved. So what I'm trying to encourage
-
today is let us look at our, let us look into our own heart and
-
see when and how we failed God and tell yourself that is not
-
the end of my life. That is not my destiny.
-
I must have failed God, but that's not the end of my life.
-
I want to surrender to Jesus. I want to my I want to renew my
-
mind with the word of God. I want my soul to be transformed
-
by the impact of the world because I love Jesus, because I
-
worship him, because I obey him. And as you do it, you will be
-
transformed to the likeness of Jesus.
-
Shall we pray, Father, in the name of Jesus?
-
Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord.
-
Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord.
-
Like Peter himself, oh, Godfather has been your son, but
-
he wavered so much, but yet you made him a pillar in the church
-
and you made him over. You gave him the keys of heaven.
-
We praise you Jesus. And you said, I will build my
-
church upon this rock, and the gates of shall not prevail
-
against it. We thank you, Father.
-
You are not depending on a weak vessel, but you are depending
-
upon a rock. By your power, by the power of
-
the Holy Ghost, you are going to make him a rock and build your
-
church. So I pray, take us all with our
-
weaknesses, make us like a rock as you turn Peter who is a Reed,
-
Simon, a Reed into a rock. Peter, I pray same way.
-
Turn us in from inside out and make us strong and build your
-
church. And we thank you, for the gates
-
of us shall not prevail against it.
-
We worship, we honor you, we praise you Jesus.
-
Now you want to say, yeah, I want to surrender my life to
-
Jesus. Just quickly stand where you
-
are. And I want to pray for you that
-
the Lord will have mercy and touch you right now and remove
-
those faltering heart and put a steady heart in that place, that
-
he will remove the heart of flesh, heart of stone, and give
-
you a heart of flesh in the name of Jesus.
-
Surrender, surrender, surrender. The Lord says, like Moses, he
-
gave the law to set people free, but they were enslaved by it.
-
But I give you life, says the Lord this morning.
-
He wants to give you life. Take it, take it, take it, take
-
it, take it. He is giving you life.
-
Take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it now.
-
Holy Ghost, fall upon the children now.
-
Refresh them now in the name of Jesus.
-
Refresh them now in the name of Jesus.
-
Refresh them now in the name of Jesus.
-
Thank you, Lord, bless your children this morning.
-
Jesus name, we ask? Amen.
