Exodus chapter 19 verses 1:00 to 6:00.
Exodus 19 chapter mention
-
On the first day of the third month, after the Israelis left
-
Egypt, on that very day they came to the desert of Sinai.
-
After they set out from Refidim, they entered the desert of
-
Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the
-
mountain. Then Moses went up to God, and
-
the Lord called him from the mountain and said, This is what
-
you are to say to the descendants of Jacob, and what
-
you are to tell the people of Israel.
-
You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I carried
-
you on eagle's wings and brought you to myself.
-
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of
-
all the nations you will be my treasured possession.
-
Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a
-
Kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
-
These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.
-
It is amazing words I am telling you.
-
The very first thing that I want to say here is about the Mount
-
Sinai. Why it is important for Moses.
-
First of all, it is important to Moses, you know, you realize
-
that why it is important to Moses, where he was keeping the
-
sheep and you know, the cattle of his father-in-law.
-
He was roaming on this mountains.
-
He saw the burning Bush. Where was it?
-
Mount Sinai. So he saw the Bush caught on
-
fire, but the Bush itself is not burning.
-
He only saw the flames, but the Bush itself is not Catching
-
Fire. So he came nearer to see what is
-
it. So as he came nearer, he heard
-
the voice coming from the Bush. Moses.
-
Moses, here am I. Take off the sandals because the
-
ground on which you are standing is holy.
-
And you see you see lot of the other things in Exodus,
-
beginning of the Exodus you will see all this story.
-
But one of the things, things in chapter 3 verse 12, the Lord
-
said to him, God said, I will be with you and this will be the
-
sign to you that it is I who have sent you.
-
When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship
-
God on this mountain. Is it happening now, happening
-
now? It is happening now.
-
So it is important for Moses that he is called by God.
-
It is important for Moses that it is a fulfillment of the
-
promise of God that I will. I am sending you to Egypt, but
-
you will bring the people and worship me here on this
-
mountain. That is fulfilled.
-
A prophecy fulfilled. So chapter 19 is a prophecy
-
fulfilled. Now I want to encourage you if
-
you have a word God has spoken into your life anytime any
-
promise you wholeheartedly believed it is going to be
-
fulfilled. Can I share a Amen.
-
So if you receive a word from God, it will be fulfilled.
-
I am telling you Omega is not built on anybody's imagination
-
is not because I want to start a church so many times I said I do
-
not want to write a book. I do not want to write a start
-
an organization, but it is God who spoke in the year 2000
-
Build, come build the Church of God and it was fulfilled in 2019
-
when I got the call and in 2020 we started the church after the
-
corvid. So this is not our imagination.
-
Don't look at the few people now and say, hey, this is this man
-
says God called him, but this look at see if there are no
-
people here, not many, it's coming.
-
Even if some more go from here, it does not mean God has not
-
called his church into existence.
-
God has called his into existence.
-
He has a plan and a purpose. So that is first thing that we
-
want to keep it in mind. Second thing here is this is the
-
third month after the Israelites left Egypt.
-
How long third month? Why do we have to focus on the
-
third month? This is third month, let's say
-
first day of the third month. They have reached there.
-
So in the last two months, what things have happened in two
-
months? In the last two months, what
-
have happened? God brought the 10 plagues and
-
set them free. After every elders of the first
-
born of the male are dead, they let them go and they came and
-
they pursued them. They were destroyed in the Red
-
Sea. God opened the Red Sea, saved
-
the Israelites, but killed the Pharaoh and his army.
-
And you see this pillar of fire by night and pillar of cloud by
-
day, guiding them. When it lifts they they travel.
-
When they, it settles, they set their camp and stay there.
-
So they have been going around this wilderness, but God was
-
with them in the wilderness. Everybody say God was with them
-
in the wilderness. Whatever problem we are going
-
through, whatever pain we are going through, whatever sickness
-
you are going through, God is with you in your problem.
-
He is with you. As you acknowledge that He is
-
with me, it becomes lighter. You try it, you go on, oh, this
-
pain, it will become more. You feel more.
-
The pain may not be more in terms of if you have a
-
instrument to measure your pain, it may not be more, but because
-
you are saying it, you feel more pain.
-
But you say the Lord is with me in this, it will become less.
-
He is dwelling in you. So release the Holy Spirit, ask
-
the Holy Spirit, Lord, move from my Spirit to the part where this
-
pain and command that pain to go in the name of Jesus.
-
It will go. It will go.
-
That is how we had to learn to fight.
-
And on the very day they came to the desert of Sinai, So they
-
have come to the desert of Sinai.
-
I mean, the theologians are not very clear about this word
-
Sinai. What does it mean, where it
-
comes from and all. So I don't want to go deep into
-
it, but Saina is a mountain and we see that God commands them to
-
wash their clothes and get ready for visitation.
-
God is going to come down on the mountain, going to speak to
-
them. He says you have to prepare
-
yourself. How do you prepare yourself?
-
Three things he said #1 is to wash their bodies.
-
That means they have to take bath or they have to plunge into
-
some source of water and get cleaned to wash their clothes. 3
-
Abstain from intimacy with their spouse men.
-
This most of the time it is referred to men.
-
So they have to abstain from intimacy with their wives.
-
These are the three conditions and 3rd day God is going to come
-
and meet them. I did lot of thinking about it,
-
but in the New Testament you do not have that kind of
-
application now. But there are times when Paul
-
himself writes, do not avoid intimacy unless both of you
-
agree for a season of prayer. You want to seek God, say I want
-
to fasten and pray for three days And you want to tell the
-
husband tells the wife, OK, I am going to fasten and pray and she
-
understands there is no intimacy for three days.
-
Or the wife says I want to fasten and pray.
-
Husband understand law, it is 3 days, no intimacy, but what he
-
says is but do not prolong it come together.
-
So it is one of those things it is like a it is like a oil in a
-
in a machine. There is friction.
-
The moving parts are there big machine and if you put oil, what
-
happens less friction and machine moves good.
-
So this is one of those things God gives as a lubricating oil
-
to reduce the friction to bring love, understanding unity.
-
So I believe that it is one of those blessings of God and now
-
you do not need to follow like the Old Testament.
-
I am saying, oh, I am praying now.
-
So I am not going to be intimate with my wife or the wife says
-
no, I am praying now. I am not going to be intimate
-
with my husband. Absolutely rubbish.
-
Now. Why?
-
Because it is not God's plan anymore.
-
It is our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
-
We have to keep it in holiness and we should always see God and
-
live in union with Him and does not necessarily mean one of
-
these things to avoid. I, I see a couple, uh, I have
-
observed a couple who are allotted to prayer, but I, after
-
some time the marriage fell off, though it broke.
-
One of the things I understand is that that lubricating oil is
-
missing. That is how I understood it.
-
So we should not, uh, what you call it, some other secular
-
article I was reading. And in that they said after some
-
time there will be times when the love will go down.
-
It is not going to be always burning bread.
-
When as you get married, you know, there is a lot of love,
-
lot of emotion. It will not be there after some
-
time. The pressures will come,
-
children problems. It is going to hit you very,
-
very hard. But what that what that this is
-
secular article. I am telling you it is not about
-
religious art. It is secular article.
-
And what the wife says is I do not feel the same way I used to
-
feel for my husband before and wife or the husband says well, I
-
I do not feel the same way before.
-
But this is called the intimacy is called the maintenance dose
-
It is to maintain the relationship it has to it has to
-
be done. Try it.
-
I will say it wherever it is dry, wherever it is dry, you
-
need to try to improve the marriage.
-
That is what I'm trying to say. Why?
-
Because here in the oldest was written, but in the New
-
Testament it says you agree for a short time, but then to
-
restore it afterward. And that is good for the
-
families because you are to live in love and understanding and
-
grow together. It is one of those things.
-
And some people, some people say, does the church have
-
anything to say about marriages? I am saying it today, restore
-
what needs to be restored so that there is joy in the family
-
and unity in the family. Cool.
-
Next thing is we see here if you read the whole chapter 19, Moses
-
has gone up and down the mountain at least three times.
-
How many times? Three times.
-
You see, first time in verse 3, then Moses went up to God and
-
the Lord called him from the mountain and said this is what
-
you ought to say to the House of his Jacob.
-
So when Moses went up to God and the Lord called him from the
-
mountain, this is not completely going up to the top of the
-
mountain. No, he just started going
-
towards the mountain, maybe quarter, quarter away.
-
And then the voice came from the mountain to Moses.
-
So when you take one step, even few steps towards God, God takes
-
that step to speak to you. See, I used to teach doctrine of
-
God several for many, many years in the camp, student camp.
-
I would say God is infinite and personal.
-
But that's all I knew at that time.
-
But now if I had to teach the doctrine of God, I would say God
-
is infinite and personal and a God who speaks, you take out the
-
words, God who speaks. You do not have God of the
-
Bible. That part personal has
-
communication itself in it, but I never emphasized it.
-
That's why I am adding it as a special phrase.
-
God who speaks, that is the God of the Bible.
-
Have you heard His voice? If you have not heard his voice,
-
then something is really missing, very, very important
-
and missing. So restore, seek Him again what
-
He is trying to do tell you, tell us today, this morning is
-
you take few steps, set apart a time, fix time to seek Him, fix,
-
fix time to pray. And you will see that God takes
-
the steps to speak to you. And you practice it for three to
-
six months. And you tell me, if you have not
-
heard the voice of God, come and talk, talk to me because it will
-
not fail. He has spoken through
-
generations to many people He has spoken.
-
The voice of the Lord comes, but we have to have the discipline
-
to hear Him and we are going to hear His voice.
-
And here Moses, he wanted to go up the mountain and God already
-
speaks. He says OK, OK stop there, go
-
back. This is what you have to say to
-
the House of Jacob and what you have to tell the people of
-
Israel. Jacob and Israel are synonymous.
-
House of Jacob, House of is there.
-
It means the same thing. You yourself have seen what I
-
did to Egypt, how I carried you on the eagles wings and brought
-
you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and
-
keep my covenant, then out of all the nations you will be my
-
treasured possession. Although the whole earth is
-
mine, you will be for me a Kingdom of priest and a holy
-
nation. This is the most important
-
central words of chapter 19. All other things explain that.
-
So what? What is God saying here is
-
number one thing he says is, you know what I have done to Egypt?
-
You know the miracles I have done the 10th place I sent.
-
You know how I split the sea? You know how my pillar of my
-
presence went with you? Pillar of cloud by day, pillar
-
of fire by night. All these things I am telling
-
you to prove only one point. It is like an eagle that teaches
-
its carries its young on its wings.
-
I have brought you from Egypt to Mount Sinai.
-
Well, wherever you are right now is Mount Sinai for you.
-
Any number of years you have gone, walked with God.
-
God says I have brought you up to this point like an eagle
-
carries its young. What?
-
What does this mean to you? To me?
-
Eagles have got a funny way of raising their kids, You know, do
-
we Do we do that with our kids? I don't know, I don't think so.
-
But the eagle, when it's hatched, it brings the food,
-
breaks into pieces, feeds it. But once the young eaglets
-
become little bigger and the wings are spreading, it knows
-
the time it disturbs the nest and breaks it down and makes
-
forces the eagle eaglet to fly. And when it is thrown from up
-
somewhere, the Cliff is trying to find how to fly.
-
It is flying below so that in case the eaglet loses balance or
-
doesn't, cannot fly, has no strength, it's collapsing, it's
-
falling down, it's going to catch so that it will be on the
-
back of the eagle. It will carry to safety again.
-
And then after a day or two, throw from there again.
-
So that that's how it teaches the young to fly.
-
Amazing things. I tell you.
-
If an eagle has enough common sense to do that, how much more
-
God will do with your life. He will disturb your life.
-
Everything is going good. Sometimes it happened to me,
-
everything was going good. But He loses the job.
-
So at that time it is painful. But God is teaching something.
-
He is teaching me how to hear His voice.
-
He is teaching me how to come close to Him.
-
He is teaching me how to obey Him in spite of the problems.
-
So that is what His life is all about.
-
He disturbs the nest. He throws you up from the head
-
from a height, and then He is flying below to catch you.
-
And now with all these things, what he is saying is from Egypt
-
I brought you to Mount Sinai, basically talking about the
-
experience of being born again. What is it about born again?
-
He gives you the gospel and after you believe the gospel, He
-
keeps on helping you to grow. So the process is He brings you
-
to the mountain. Why you know you have to learn
-
to hear his voice. That is the second step.
-
You have to know him in a way that you have not known him
-
before. That is why he brings you to the
-
mountain of Sinai. Other thing that had to do a lot
-
of research was I spent a lot of time in sometimes, you know
-
going what do you call rabbit holes, chasing the rabbit holes.
-
So in this desert, how this 2 million people are going to take
-
bath, how they are going to wash their clothes was their source
-
of water. Right now when you go there to
-
Mount Sinai, there is no, no water there, no water there.
-
But 2500 years ago or 3000 years years ago, there was at least 4,
-
four sources of water around the mountain, four sources enough
-
for them to do it. So I said, OK, Bible is right,
-
Bible is right. So whenever you get a doubt, do
-
some more research. Then you know that Bible is
-
right. So that is what it is.
-
And then what he says is I carried you, I brought you on
-
eagle's wings and brought you to myself.
-
He brought them to where? Mount Sinai people can mistake
-
the place, the job, whatever that you are acquiring, the
-
person you meet as the object of your journey.
-
No its not for a boy meeting a girl or for a girl meeting a boy
-
is not the object, it is only a means of coming to himself.
-
You need to make God your center of your life.
-
God said I brought you to myself.
-
You have to know God. That's your primary objective in
-
your life, primary goal. That one objective that you have
-
is to know God and He brings you to Himself.
-
My question is, have you had this encounter with God?
-
Have you seen His power? Have you heard His voice?
-
Have you seen His guidance? And then you have everything to
-
rejoice about because that is normal Christian life.
-
When these things are missing, normal Christian life is
-
missing. We may think we are believers,
-
we may think we are something, but I tell you we are nothing.
-
We need to have these things. We need to have the experience
-
of being born again. We must have the experience of
-
hearing the voice of God, encounter with the Holy Spirit.
-
Very, very important, very, very important.
-
Now he says, now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then
-
out of all nations you will be my treasured position.
-
Everybody say treasured position.
-
In the Hebrew it is called Shagullah.
-
Shagullah Shagullah is a treasure position.
-
What is the treasure position? It is for some.
-
It is something for which you work very hard and to obtain it.
-
It's not something you casually find.
-
Treasure position is you pursue. Likely you want to buy a house.
-
You have to work hard, maybe for five years to raise the money
-
and then you are able to. Pay the deposit and then you go
-
on making some more money and to pay pay off the mortgage that
-
becomes your treasure possession or is anything else you want to
-
buy a field. You are a you are a farmer and
-
then you want to buy a field that becomes your treasure
-
possession. You work for it and we possess
-
it and God says I have worked for you.
-
I have 4 seen you out of all the nations have chosen you is God
-
of the whole world. He is God of the whole world,
-
there is no doubt about it. But for Himself, what He did was
-
He chose one particular people who are called Hebrews or the
-
Israelites, and God wanted to choose them to demonstrate to
-
the world that He is true, that He is a living God, and through
-
them other nations will know and connect with Him.
-
In order to purge these people from idolatry and to give them
-
the revelation of true and living God, He chose a people
-
and He brought them to Himself. And that is the treasure
-
position. And Jesus himself, when he was
-
teaching, He talked about a man who found a Pearl of great value
-
hidden in the ground. What did he do?
-
He goes and sells all that he has and crumbs and pays and buys
-
that land so that he can possess that Pearl of great value or
-
treasure, hidden treasure, he finds it.
-
He sells all that he has and he buys the field so he can possess
-
it. My question is, God has done
-
that part out of all the 7 billion people.
-
He has given you the knowledge of salvation so that he can
-
believe in Jesus and be saved. My question is, do you consider
-
God as a treasured possession? I hear only one voice.
-
Can I hear everybody? Yes, that is what it is.
-
That is when you say God is my treasure position and God says
-
you are my treasure position. There is a love relationship
-
between God and you. There is a love relationship and
-
that relationship will become stronger and stronger every day,
-
not become weaker. You have to value God.
-
You have to have respect for God.
-
You have to appreciate God. You must love God.
-
You must worship Him. You must praise Him.
-
That is what Omega is all about. We are here to become a
-
community of worshiping people. Worship Jesus.
-
Are we going further or? OK, that's good.
-
So now he says, what will happen then?
-
You will be for me a Kingdom of priest and holy nation.
-
Kingdom of priest and holy nation.
-
See when God selected this family of Jacob, he had twelve
-
sons and then one of them was a Levite.
-
Levite. And then through the sons of
-
Levi you got here Moses and Aaron.
-
And then God really chooses this particular family so they will
-
be priests and rest of them they are not.
-
And he chooses the tribe of Judah so that they can Kingdom
-
can belong to the tribe of Judah.
-
Every king that comes and rules over Jerusalem and the southern
-
Kingdom has has to belong to the tribe of Judah.
-
But what God is saying is from the beginning this is God's
-
vision. We try to have a narrow vision,
-
but God has a broad vision. God's vision is everyone should
-
be a priest and everyone should be a king.
-
So if everyone of us are king, are we subject to each other?
-
We are equals. We are equals.
-
If everybody is a priest, same situation, you become equals.
-
Somebody is more, me less, I am more, he is less.
-
Doesn't work. God's man.
-
Is that now the same thing you see in the New Testament when
-
you see first Peter 29, Peter writes.
-
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
-
God's special possession. That is the same words used
-
here. You are a treasured position,
-
special position that you may declare the praises of him who
-
called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
-
So He is connecting this to salvation.
-
This experience of Exodus 19 is putting into the words of
-
salvation for everybody. You are being drawn from
-
darkness, brought into this wonderful light, marvelous
-
light, so that you can become a treasured possession, so you can
-
become a royal priesthood, holy nation.
-
The very word royal priesthood is a combination of 2 words,
-
royal and priesthood, your king and a priest, your king and a
-
priest. But where will you be a king and
-
a priest? It is to those who don't know
-
God. You are a priest and you will be
-
a king. Rule over them by faith.
-
So in order to be a royal priesthood, we must be able to
-
stand. What does the priest do?
-
He mediates between God and people.
-
Unless you become a prayer warrior, how can you be a priest
-
unless you stand in the presence of God and say God?
-
I want to pray for these people, People of Pray Bolton, only 5000
-
people, 2000 families. I pray for this place now, in
-
the name of Jesus my father, save these people, utterly,
-
completely save them. Bring them to the knowledge of
-
yourself. I pray for the Lincoln area, I
-
pray for the Christchurch area, I pray for the Canterbury area.
-
You have to be a priest interceding in the presence of
-
God. Am I making sense?
-
Suppose you don't pray. What are you doing?
-
What are you doing? When you go to the hospital, you
-
see doctors wearing a white coat.
-
OK. And if he doesn't wear the white
-
coat and he walks into the ward, will anybody say you are a
-
doctor? You are thrown off your coat.
-
That makes you people, makes you that make people recognize you
-
as a doctor. You are a priest when you don't
-
pray. You are like a doctor walking
-
without a coat. You are a king.
-
What does a king have? A crown on his head and people
-
around him. And you are a king.
-
When you speak a word, it will be carried out.
-
King doesn't have to tell you please go by means this and
-
that. Make me lasagna.
-
He says I want to have lasagna and the servants run around and
-
do whatever needs to be done and serve him lasagna.
-
You need to know you are a king. When you speak with your word in
-
the name of Jesus, that will be carried out by the angels of God
-
who hear your voice. So now what is happening is you
-
are, you have pains and things and you have got a sickness.
-
You have got so many problems in the family, in the job and
-
finance. Everything is a mess.
-
You are not working as a king. Am I trying to accuse anybody?
-
No, we all learn to grow into this.
-
We had to learn to grow into this.
-
You had to learn to stand in the presence of God and say a lot of
-
thank you for choosing me. Thank you for I am your royal
-
priesthood, holy nation. And now in the name of Jesus, I
-
speak this thing to happen. I speak blessing over my job.
-
I speak blessing over my finances.
-
I speak blessing over my children.
-
I speak blessing over my health. I speak blessing over my
-
destiny, my future. You are functioning as a king.
-
When you don't do it, you are walking like a man without a
-
crown. I am not accusing anybody.
-
I have also walked in ignorance. I have grown in the Lord.
-
Not in a year or two, you know, next year I will be walking with
-
girl for 50 years. That's not a small time.
-
So, ah, don't look at me and say this man is trying to tell me
-
down, put me down. No, I'm not trying to.
-
I'm encouraging. We have to be living like kings
-
and priests. That's my purpose, nothing more.
-
And then so this is the first time Moses goes up the mountain
-
halfway, comes down, talks to the people, and then he again
-
goes S Moses went back. He went back a second time and
-
summoned the elders of the people and said before them all
-
the words of the Lord had commanded him to speak.
-
The people all respond together we will do everything the Lord
-
has said. So Moses brought their answer
-
back to the Lord. So he goes up the mountain a
-
second time and then he says, no, no, you go back down.
-
Tell the people not to come up the mountain.
-
If they come and touch the base, the foot of the mountain, they
-
are going to die. They should be put to death.
-
Moses says you only told, you told already that no man or
-
animal should come up the mountain, so they are not going
-
to come. No, no, you go down South.
-
He has to come down again. And again he says, OK, bring
-
Aaron, your brother with you up. And they prepared themselves,
-
wash their big bath in the waters around, wash their
-
clothes, abstain from intimacy. They're waiting for God to
-
confront them. And then what happens on the
-
third day early in the morning, they can feel the earth is
-
shaking, its like an earthquake and they see loud peaks of
-
Thunder. And then they look up on the
-
mountain. The dark cloud came upon it and
-
the fire was coming down upon the mountain, consuming the top
-
portions of it. And people all were afraid.
-
And when Moses spoke to God, God answered back from the mountain.
-
Where is it written? Verse 19 And the sound of the
-
trumpet grew louder and louder. Then Moses spoke, and the voice
-
of God answered him. What an amazing experience.
-
Now theologists have got a word to explain it.
-
It's called propositional revelation.
-
Everybody say propositional revelation.
-
What is proportional revelation? God speaking to you in your own
-
language, following the grammar, vocabulary, everything.
-
He will not speak. If you want to say you want to
-
eat steak next week, you will not say I ate steak next week.
-
You have to follow the grammar, isn't it?
-
God follows the grammar, the vocabulary and speaks to you in
-
your language. That is proportional revelation.
-
He knows your language. God spoke to me in English.
-
God spoke to me in Tamil and English together.
-
God spoke to me in Telugu recently, spoke to me in
-
Gujarati. That is not my mother tongue,
-
that is my wife's language. God speaks in the language that
-
you know. Oh, how does how is God going to
-
speak to me? How will you speak to you
-
language that you know? This is amazing.
-
God, I'm telling you this words proportional revelation is very
-
important because that's one of the doctrines of the Christian
-
faith. God speaks using the language
-
and the grammar of the language that you know.
-
He speaks to you in the language.
-
So that is very, very important. And then Moses went up and the
-
Lord said to him, go down and warn the people.
-
So this man, 80 plus years of age, going up and down and up
-
and down the mountain three times, I am glad I am not Moses
-
because my knees are not strong. Recently when we went to
-
America, every house had steps to go up.
-
You either have basement or upstairs and you have to go up
-
and down. I said give me somewhere in the
-
middle side, do not have to go up and down because until then I
-
was going for a walk every day for 5 kilometres and I thought I
-
was fit, only to realize that when I go to America, my knees
-
are not strong. I realized it there.
-
I think God took me there to teach me one lesson.
-
You have to exercise your knees anyway.
-
But the point is Moses was strong.
-
Even at the age of 120 when he had to die, he was strong.
-
He did not die because of sickness.
-
He died, did not die because of sickness.
-
He was physically strong. He said go up the mountain and
-
you are going to die and I am going to bury in a place no one
-
will know where you are buried. Why?
-
Because people will make an idol of it.
-
They will build something around the tomb and then make it into a
-
temple and, you know, worship there, offer sacrifice.
-
No, no, I do not want anybody to do that.
-
So I am going to bury in a way that nobody will know where you
-
are buried. So that is how it is.
-
So verse 24, God, Lord replied, go down and bring Aaron up with
-
you. So are you God's treasure?
-
Possession? Yes.
-
Has he carried you on eagle's wings?
-
Has he been your healer? Has he done miracles for you?
-
What more you want? What more do you want?
-
I'm telling you I have so much of notes here, 3 pages, but I'm
-
just beginning my message now. The whole question that comes to
-
is and when God made a covenant with these people, He came down
-
the mountain and the whole experience is from verse 16 to
-
verse 19. On the morning of the third day,
-
there was Thunder and lightning with a thick cloud over the
-
mountain and a very low trumpet blast.
-
Who is he? Who is it that is blowing the
-
trumpet? Not humans?
-
Is the angels of God blowing the trumpet on the mountain and the
-
trumpet blast? And then what happened?
-
Everyone in the camp trembled. Then Moses let the people out of
-
the camp to meet with God. You are meeting with God.
-
But Christian experience is all something like this when you
-
believe in Jesus, this God who is holy, who came on that
-
mountain and people were afraid when there was a earthquake was
-
there. But he comes into your life very
-
silently. That's what John writes in the
-
in the prologue in chapter one of his gospel, Johns Gospel
-
chapter 1. The word was in the beating was
-
the word the word with God. The word was God and the word.
-
Everything that is great has been created through the Word.
-
Nothing has been created without the word.
-
And then he goes on to say the word became flesh and dwelt
-
among us full of grace and truth.
-
Now you have on one side this kind of a holy God.
-
When you look at him, you are afraid of him.
-
He comes in thick cloud and then fire, low trumpet blast,
-
earthquake. We need that experience to put
-
some kind of fear I've got in our heart.
-
But unfortunately he doesn't do that with us.
-
He comes very quietly because we are in a New Testament.
-
He comes quietly into your heart.
-
He stands at the door of your heart and knocks.
-
If you hear my voice, open the door.
-
I want to come in. I want to eat with you and I
-
want you to eat with me. And we are sometimes keeping him
-
waiting for five years, 10 years.
-
Some of us, we don't want to obey him quickly.
-
He is a holy God. You cannot play with him.
-
You cannot live in sin and say I am all right, everything is all
-
right and keep on living in sin is not the answer, is not the
-
lifestyle that God expects us. If you fear God, first thing to
-
do is to stop the sin. Come out of it whatever is, it
-
costs. Sometimes it costs.
-
It is not that easy to stop sinning.
-
It costs and we must be willing to pay the cost if you want to
-
follow him. That is the reason why Jesus
-
said he who wants to follow me must take up His cross and walk
-
daily His cross and daily our cross is when we want to do
-
God's will. And right now we are not doing
-
God's will. When you want to do God's will,
-
that becomes your cross, that becomes your cross, and you have
-
to deny yourself. That flesh will demand things
-
from you, and you have to say no to the demands of the flesh.
-
Take up the cross, walk daily with Him.
-
That is Christian life. But here you see all these
-
things. You know Yahweh is Jesus.
-
I have told you so many times, Yahweh is Jesus.
-
When you look at Yahweh in the chapter 1919, He is a terrible
-
God, full of fire, holy, and He cannot accept you and He cannot
-
just overlook your sin. But again, when it comes to the
-
New Testament, the same God is so full of love, compassion,
-
mercy, but judgment is in the future.
-
He does not judge you immediately.
-
Just because He does not judge you immediately does not mean
-
you are. You are accepted and everything
-
is fine when you deal with sin. What needs to be confessed has
-
to be confessed. What this should be renounced
-
has to be renounced and get up and walk with him.
-
That is very, very important. And then today is actually Day
-
of Pentecost. Many churches are celebrating
-
Day of Pentecost coming out the Holy Spirit on the on the
-
church. The church was born this day,
-
2000 years ago nearly. I did not want to make that as a
-
focus because I was deciding. I decided to speak on chapter
-
19. But chapter 20 is giving of the
-
law. That is that coincidence with
-
the dead Pentecost. So next time I preach, I'll be
-
preaching on chapter 20. So we'll have Pentecost 2 weeks
-
late. But that is what it is.
-
We don't go by calendar. That's the reason why I'm not
-
focusing on it. But we have to come be expected
-
that what God wants to do in our life through His Word is very,
-
very important. We need to give supremacy to the
-
Word. You have to make the Bible the
-
ultimate rule book and obey it. Because without obedience, I am
-
telling you, whether you have Old Testament Christian or a
-
nutrition Christian, it doesn't matter.
-
There is no Christian in the Old Testament anyway.
-
So you are, whether Old Testament St. or a New New
-
Testament St., you must have obedience because that's what he
-
said. If you obey me, you will be part
-
of my covenant. You will be my royal priesthood,
-
holy nation. And what did Jesus say?
-
I am the one, you are the branch.
-
And if you obey me, keep my commandments, you will remain in
-
me, and I will remain in you. And then you will bear fruit,
-
much fruit in the glory of the Father.
-
Take out obedience. Whether you belong to Old
-
Testament or the New Testament does not matter.
-
We are outside the will of God. And if you want to be within the
-
will of God, obedience is very central.
-
OK, I think we should keep away my notes and we will focus on
-
prayer. Shall we pray?
-
Father God, we thank you, we praise you with all our heart,
-
we praise you, for you are a God who speaks to us in our own
-
language. We worship you, we praise you,
-
but you are not Stop speaking. Everybody who seeks you can hear
-
you. And you spoke from the mountain
-
to Moses and the whole nation. 2 million people heard your voice.
-
So I pray now that the outcome of our lives will bring the
-
testimony of our outcome of our lives will bring glory to your
-
name. Let people know that we are a
-
people who hear your voice and do your will and let that
-
testimony bring glory to your name.
-
I pray for everyone this morning who is here and those will hear
-
me on online. I pray that your hand will be
-
upon them and that you will bless them.
-
That you will cause up to hear your voice and to know your mind
-
to do your will and raise up a big generation of people who
-
will be worshipping you and obeying you to the glory of your
-
name. Thank you for hearing this
-
prayer. Bless your children this morning
-
in Jesus mighty name we ask and everyone says Amen.
