  1. Hallelujah, you've been faithful Lord, from the ages past.

  2. That is why our name is forevermore.

  3. You've been faithful, Lord, from the ages past.

  4. That is why on it. The.

  5. The. Yes.

  6. Are you clapping or you are? Praise the Lord, May God richly

  7. bless you. On this note, we want to invite

  8. our resident minister in the person of Pastor Emmanuel Osaya

  9. Cosa to deliver the weather. Shall we welcome him with a clap

  10. of him? Praise the Lord, Hallelujah,

  11. Amen. We thank God that we are

  12. starting this local week and God has begun with us.

  13. Oh, I didn't hear you say Amen. And today being the day one, we

  14. are offering Thanksgiving on to the Lord and we are saying thank

  15. him. Thank God that for all that He

  16. has done for us, we are in our sixth year as an assembly and

  17. God has been good unto us, so we need to be thankful unto Him.

  18. Amen. Our theme for this week is

  19. celebrating God's goodness, offering sacrifices or sacrifice

  20. that honors God. So we are just opposing 2 things

  21. out of our Thanksgiving, thanking God.

  22. We are also expressing our thankfulness through sacrifice.

  23. So the driving force behind what we do as we thank God is to

  24. offer unto Him. During thanking God, we offer

  25. many things. We offer praise as a sacrifice

  26. unto God. We also offer our material

  27. possessions as also sacrifice unto God.

  28. And we also give ourselves, we offer ourselves our body as

  29. living sacrifices unto God. And we also offer to those in

  30. need as way of thanking God and giving back unto God.

  31. So our sacrifice should be motivated by appreciating God

  32. and thanking Him for what He has done for us.

  33. Because through sacrifice we acknowledge that everything that

  34. we have comes from God. If you are giving to God and you

  35. don't give with that understanding that everything I

  36. have is God who gave to me, so giving back to Him, I'm even

  37. thankful to Him that He has counted me worthy to receive a

  38. gift or a sacrifice from me. Because the earth is the loss

  39. and the fullness, including you and I.

  40. So you and I, now we belong to God.

  41. So anything we are giving to God is like yay nary because they

  42. are rightful. He is the owner of our lives, of

  43. our breath, of our everything. So if at any point in time we

  44. are given to Him, we need to even come before Him with

  45. singing, dancing that God has counted as worthy to even give

  46. unto Him. And if you check the texts that

  47. we have attached this theme, you will see that when you read the

  48. Psalm, Psalm 50, you appreciate that God called them together.

  49. And it was telling them that it is not your, your bank offerings

  50. and your booze and other things that I need, but just offer

  51. sacrifice of Thanksgiving. So Thanksgiving, appreciating

  52. God, celebrating God is also a sacrifice.

  53. And it should come from a very thankful and a cheerful heart.

  54. So this week begin to thank God, let us appreciate God, let us

  55. offer from the fruit of our lives unto Him Thanksgiving that

  56. is due him. And by that we'll be doing

  57. things that God, it will honor God.

  58. Hallelujah. Oh, I said Hallelujah.

  59. So I will tackle them because we don't have so much time when you

  60. come for and you sorry and you preach long, you will sleep on

  61. you true of us true. So I guess we're giving you

  62. points, point points and then we will end.

  63. So the first thing I want us to know is that when it comes to

  64. sacrificial giving of Thanksgiving, praise, honor,

  65. material things, giving ourselves, be mindful that our

  66. giving, our sacrifice is a representation before God.

  67. I think I have said it here before.

  68. Let me take some time and then look through them and we will

  69. appreciate it. Our prayers and our giving,

  70. their representation before God as memorials.

  71. Any prayer, any act of sacrifice, whether by giving

  72. physical cash, sacrificing your time, energy in the Kingdom of

  73. God, they go up and they are before God as memorial.

  74. Let's read some texts to buttress this.

  75. When you read Psalm 50 verse 8, the Psalm 50 verse 8, let us try

    Psalms 50:8 Psalms 50:8

  76. and then read Psalm 50, verse 8 from the ESV.

    Psalms 50:8

  77. Not for your sacrifice. Oh, it's OK, it's OK.

  78. He says that OK. Not for your sacrifices do I

  79. rebuke you. Your bent offerings are

  80. continually before me. They are way continually before

  81. me. The offerings are continually

  82. before me. Continually before me.

  83. Let me try and then read down a little bit for you.

  84. I will not accept Abu from your house or goats from your food,

  85. for every beast of the forest is mine.

  86. The cattle on 1000 hills I know all the birds of the hills, and

  87. all that moves in the field is mine.

  88. If I were hungry, I will not tell you, for the world and its

  89. fullness are mine. Do I eat the flesh of goose or

  90. drink the blood of goats offered to God?

  91. A sacrifice of what? Thanksgiving.

  92. And perform your vows to to the Most High and call upon me in

  93. the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you

  94. shall glorify me. Hallelujah, Oh Hallelujah.

  95. Then let me take you to the last verse.

  96. Let's move on to the verse 23, the verse 23, the one who offers

  97. Thanksgiving as his sacrifice, that's what glorifies me.

  98. To one who orders his way rightly, I will show the

  99. salvation of God. So here what we are seeing is

  100. that our sacrifices are continually before God and even

  101. God, He doesn't eat them. He doesn't drink blood, He

  102. doesn't eat M punchy no, no, as we do.

  103. But he was recounting that a cattle on 1000 hill, they are

  104. always everything, the fullness, everything belongs to him.

  105. So what He needs from us is to offer Thanksgiving as sacrifice,

  106. and that glorifies Him. So if you are thinking of

  107. sacrifices other than thanking God today, I beg you to reorient

  108. yourself and add Thanksgiving to it.

  109. Celebrate God. We should be intentional about

  110. recounting. Let us intentionally sit down

  111. and list the things that God He has been doing for us and thank

  112. Him for them. Thank Him, let us be intentional

  113. and thank Him and praise Him because of what He has done for

  114. us. So thanking God for who He is is

  115. very key. We need to thank God for who He

  116. is. We need to thank God for what He

  117. has done for us. We do to thank God for what He

  118. is doing and by faith for what He will do for us.

  119. Those things, God really appreciate them.

  120. Let us move on to Numbers 31, verse 54.

    Numbers 31:54

  121. Numbers 31, verse 54, still from the ESV, Numbers 3154 and Moses

    Numbers 31:54

  122. and Eliza. The priests received the gold

  123. from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it

  124. into the tent of meeting as a memorial.

  125. As what? A memorial for the people of

  126. Israel before the Lord. Even on earth they were placing

  127. gold before God as what? A memorial offering them as

  128. times and things they received from from war, things that they

  129. gathered. They give some to God that oh

  130. God want these things to be before God as memorial of the

  131. people of Israel so that whenever God the cloud of glory

  132. settles on the ACT, when it settles on the tent and God

  133. looks down from heaven, He will see that this gold is a

  134. representation. So anything sacrificing, doing

  135. it in the Kingdom of God, giving it apart from thanking God, any

  136. material things that you do, your strength, because these

  137. things were acquired by their strength.

  138. They fought before they got the gold and presented them before

  139. God. So anything you have earned by

  140. sweat, by hard work and you present them before God, God an

  141. honest God. So do things that will bring

  142. honor to God and part of it as we thank God from a very good

  143. art. Let also let our material

  144. possessions also follow because God, he's interested in them.

  145. The third verse that I want us to look at is the story of the

  146. Roman soldier Cornelius. Accident.

  147. Accident from verse one Cornelius At Kaisera there was a

  148. man named Cornelius, a centurion, a centurion of what

  149. was known as the Italian cohort, A devout man who feared God with

  150. all his household, gave alms generously to the people and

  151. prayed continually to God. About the ninth hour of the day

  152. he saw clearly in a vision an Angel of God come in and say to

  153. him, Cornelius. And he stared at him in terror

  154. and said, What is it Lord? And he said to him, Your prayers

  155. and your arms have what ascended as memorial before God.

  156. They want the ascent. So if you want things that can

  157. transcend or be transported from the earthly realm into spiritual

  158. realm, prayer is 1. And then you're giving your

  159. sacrifice. So don't joke with these two

  160. prayer, it goes to God that it could not mean something.

  161. Prayer that is unhindered, prayer that that is devoid of

  162. bitterness, prayer devoid of holding offenses, devoid of

  163. holding grudges against each other.

  164. Aquaderet and Iraq, no cave, no bend directly to God.

  165. And it's a memorial because God, he's tossed the prayer of the

  166. Saints. He has a bank where your prayers

  167. are stored. So I don't know what is the

  168. volume of your prayer in heaven? Is it 1 bottle or barrel or a

  169. big tank? Some of our prayers in heaven is

  170. a drop, just a drop. Cool, NASA, maybe pray more so

  171. that we can accumulate much more prayer in heaven.

  172. And the next point that the Angel told the money is that

  173. you're giving of arms. You're giving.

  174. Anything you do in the name of God, anything that God's name is

  175. attached go to, he comes in. So anything you are given.

  176. I am doing this because of the love I have for Jesus under the

  177. dispensation of grace. Our giving is higher because we

  178. have the excellent example for God so loved the world.

  179. That he gave so God he gave his best.

  180. So the stand up for the New Testament believer forgiving is

  181. bigger than the old for our time.

  182. We don't give because we are compelled.

  183. We give because we love God. That is the the the spirit

  184. behind our time of giving. I'm giving to God because He

  185. first give to me. He first loved me.

  186. So if everything I have comes from Him and He needs it, I can

  187. give all to Him without looking back.

  188. That is the understanding with which we must give.

  189. Hallelujah. So anything short of this will

  190. face a difficulty before God. What motivates you should be

  191. loved to do everything she believed.

  192. Because when you look at the cross and look at God giving his

  193. Son, you cannot withhold yours. You must give, Oh truly.

  194. Because if you look at God giving his one and only Son.

  195. For God so loved the world that he gave us his one and only Son.

  196. So God, if Jesus had not succeeded, he would have lost

  197. big time. He would have lost his one and

  198. only Son. That is why when Jesus was on

  199. earth, He tried to do everything to please his Father.

  200. Otherwise it will be as a So the standard for you and I to give

  201. under the new dispense or under the new covenant is much more

  202. stricter. To whom much is given, much is

  203. what expected. In the end, because of the

  204. grace, much more is expected of us.

  205. May we not feel God and may we give from the depths of our

  206. hearts. So if these two are reps before

  207. God, then we need to be serious in giving, we need to be serious

  208. in praying. We need to be seen.

  209. Because they go to God. They are reps before God and God

  210. will look on it. So anyone who also gives you

  211. move God and when you look at the Hall of Fame Hebrews 11 the

  212. first name is there because of sacrifice by faith.

  213. Abel what was following his sacrifice so sacrificing to God,

  214. God is interested. Abraham did the same thing and

  215. God was moved, he was moved, he was moved and he says that may

  216. come on time we'll measure out. So God had to not disturb by

  217. India. There was no any other one

  218. greater than him. Look at Abel and all of them

  219. sacrifice. So when we are celebrating God

  220. and we are offering Thanksgiving, we need to also

  221. give anything that has God's name attached to it.

  222. So the poor widow, the poor widow who also give Jesus, he

  223. went to church, he didn't get anywhere to focus that on the

  224. bull. So when we come to church and we

  225. look inside, Elmo, Sunni and Konta crying, Jesus not crying,

  226. he looked inside, he looked inside.

  227. So Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts in the

  228. offering box. And he also saw a poor widow put

  229. in two small copper coins. Hey, look, look there because

  230. he's a doctor, he give very vivid the description.

  231. Look, look when you look at how they they put in.

  232. Mark also recalls it. So they all record that 2, the

  233. woman law is 4. We do just say and she came to

  234. church with copper coins, not just that, but 2, not just two,

  235. but out of all the coins, the copper coins she brought, the

  236. two which were the small. So Jesus is explaining to us

  237. that's it was very small. It was very small.

  238. And they say that a copper coin worth about 1 / 128 of a

  239. Denarios, which was a day's wage for a Libra.

  240. So if you pick minimum wage per day divided by 128, that was the

  241. worth of a copper coin, very small, but that was what the

  242. woman gave. And Jesus gives a perspective

  243. that everybody who reads and reads again will be like hey,

  244. what's your home would have would have said same Jesus would

  245. be able Hey Jesus, let's go for they are giving big offerings

  246. saying this woman took one 1 / 128 But Jesus comes with a

  247. heavily perspective and he said truly I tell you this poor widow

  248. has put in more than all of them.

  249. Hey Jesus, the mocking scheme of heaven is different from what we

  250. use on earth. Let us begin to look at how how

  251. Jesus heaven assesses our offering.

  252. So we have looked at thanks giving us a sacrifice that truly

  253. honors God, and now we are looking at physical things as

  254. when you're using the woman as example, the poor we do.

  255. So why would Jesus now turn the whole thing upside down?

  256. Then he says for they all contributed out of their

  257. abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything

  258. she had all she had to live on. Wow.

  259. So God, when you are giving, he looks inside pound.

  260. God cares so much about what we give and he's interested because

  261. look at it, the poor widow, you see that the rich people, the

  262. surplus at home is bigger than what they give.

  263. So we have given the about and to the urban mind because this

  264. woman has given all. So where do you give from?

  265. Is it from your abundance or from your scarcity?

  266. I come in my last affordable humble be that you will not

  267. understand. I can't be lost.

  268. What are you going there already?

  269. I can't be lost if I drop it now, no hope my God is saying

  270. yes, drop it. Have faith in me.

  271. Drop it and the heavens are waiting for you to drop and

  272. you're like hey, ready when I go go back.

  273. I mean Ave. so the distance from your seat to the bow is like

  274. from you to come and say because so long that you are battling

  275. within you that is giving that honest God.

  276. There should be a battle. You should feel uncomfortable.

  277. It should do you. David says that I will not give

  278. to God what will not cost me. That is it when you're going to

  279. give to pay you some of us you give and the moment you sit

  280. down, you're like but the moment he leaves your

  281. hand, heaven acknowledge that your hand is empty.

  282. So he would dispatch, hey, go and give it to him times 10,

  283. give it back to him. Hallelujah.

  284. So until something leaves your hands, nothing moves from heaven

  285. in your account on your account. So the let's go share.

  286. I had a mechanized Eva as a Dicken in Kumasi.

  287. We had gone for inter officers retreat at Asafa.

  288. If you know the in and out of Kumasi and yes Yeti book home

  289. estates of that day. The word enter me and I decided

  290. to give one of my Laura first out because I had to pick two

  291. cars before I get home from Asafo to book home estate.

  292. It's far and Sophia crackling. It's like from here to there

  293. were then I gave it that day when we closed no lifts, so I

  294. had to track and walk and I'm saying ask for this one.

  295. I'll walk because I've given it that time.

  296. I work from Asafo. I am checking some things at

  297. town. Meanwhile was nights we close so

  298. I linked up from Asafo, I went up to Liba, I climbed up to

  299. Rumor Hill. I descended through Alaba, got

  300. down to the doctor Mensa to try and see if I can get another car

  301. to airport and link up home. It was lit.

  302. He made in your car. But one last car came.

  303. It came. That's one idiot.

  304. And I gave God one. I said I got this one here.

  305. I put it in my pocket. Maybe if I had had faith to give

  306. all God would have taken me home directly.

  307. I gave God 1 and I walked one time to we're doing farming,

  308. raising, then we give an amount to say about you.

  309. I don't say that day when you are going home, nobody there

  310. brings you a question that will make you angry.

  311. Especially there's small voice, see that you are very quiet and

  312. thinking about yourself. But through them I've seen how

  313. God has moved mightily. So don't be afraid to give to

  314. God. Don't be afraid, don't be

  315. afraid. I remember that my first year

  316. snit loon at Tech Zealous. Hey, I'll give it out.

  317. I give first you snit loon, I give thanks me to God.

  318. When I finished university, 2 of them paid me guarantees, 2 they

  319. paid it off Okra yechiacho. So the three of them two paid

  320. and it was Levy. Another one, he had moved out of

  321. Ghana then I think he was in Spain.

  322. So they started deducting me. As soon as take your money, I

  323. don't want it. And another thing that God did

  324. by then on campus it was in out, out, out, out.

  325. So it's only the first day you get home room to stay in.

  326. So the first year I was assigned, I remember, I remember

  327. all my room, room 17, Zuzongo Lane in this hall.

  328. That was my first room. After that I never went out.

  329. I I told God I want to sleep on campus.

  330. I don't want off campus. I stayed in Unity Hall three

  331. whole years. Not as someone petrol full bed.

  332. I was even staying at a point in some of the flats.

  333. Some of the flats flats has a bigger room.

  334. That was where I was still enjoying.

  335. Look at what God can do. I need a laptop at the

  336. university. I got it free.

  337. I didn't buy it. So when you give to God, it is

  338. never in vain. You can tell the countless

  339. number of examples and on and on and on and on.

  340. So give to God. I know that you, you have them,

  341. you have lots of examples. If I remember them, I'll try and

  342. then be sharing them with you. So these are some of them.

  343. So the woman gave out of her poverty and Jesus acknowledged

  344. that she has given more than all.

  345. May we give and may our given bring glory to heaven.

  346. God rich to bless you as we appreciate God for the six years

  347. is a very good state to thank God Six years in the life of a

  348. looker. It's not a joke.

  349. Look at the things we have here. Look at our home.

  350. Some lookers have been in existence for 50 years.

  351. They don't even have a space as nice as ours.

  352. When you look here, you may think that you don't have

  353. anything to thank God. Some lookers they don't have

  354. microphones and even speakers, but some a general to me.

  355. Did you know that one the club I don't know to me.

  356. So if God has blessed us with all these things and look at the

  357. the entire congregation the way God has blessed us with

  358. beautiful ladies and handsome young people, we need to thank

  359. God for the leadership. You need to thank God for

  360. presiding order. You thank for God for elders,

  361. the kings sicknesses. Brandon, look at your chair.

  362. Look at it, look at it, escape it neatly woven there.

  363. If you have been to the villages before bench, no crown, they

  364. have a sugar. Before you sit down, we use You

  365. need to be experiencing it, otherwise you fall down.

  366. But they are thanking God when you go there and you see the

  367. joy. So as far as we need to let

  368. Thanksgiving overflow. So thank God.

  369. Yeah, you have this nice face now, Gordo, let's thank God that

  370. for God even to take care of us for six years.

  371. Let us be thankful unto God shall be on our feet today.

  372. One, thank God we don't ask anything, just thanking God when

  373. God says that, yes, I came to thank you for all that you have

  374. done. So begin to gather some reasons

  375. in your mind where you need to be thankful to God.

  376. I've just given you some few points as a local, but as an

  377. individual you can recount the number of times sometimes we

  378. were just one inch away from death, been told that we need to

  379. a weapon. Yummy.

  380. And you see that your heart, your soul left your body and

  381. came back. You're like wow, this is God.

  382. We have gone through all of them.

  383. Sometimes we haven't sick and he thought that he would die, but

  384. God brought you back. All these things.

  385. Have we thank God enough? Do we even thank God for our

  386. spouses? Don't thank God for your spouse.

  387. You don't thank God for the children that God has given to

  388. you. You don't thank God for the job.

  389. For the job. You need to thank God some.

  390. We need to even thank God that we can walk.

  391. We need to thank God that we can even eat and have tastes.

  392. I remember Once Upon a time I got sick and when I put food in

  393. my mouth it was like gravels. Test vanished, no smell.

  394. I couldn't smell food. Test graduate was far away.

  395. It's like I'm more but I'm chewing, struggling to chew.

  396. So tasting social cry, we need to thank God for this smell

  397. everything church, count your blessings and name them one by

  398. one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done this

  399. evening. Quits by looking at what God is

  400. here to do for you. Quit by saying the Lord.

  401. We are fond of looking at what we are expecting God to do.

  402. And we don't look at what God has done for you tonight.

  403. Just be intentional and talk to God.

  404. God, you have done so much for me.

  405. I thank you. I thank you.
