Holy Spirit Will Come Upon You, the Power of the Most High Will Overshadow You - Elder William Amuzu

That He will not leave them as orphans, but He will bring the

Spirit that is the Spirit of God, that is the Holy Spirit is

going to cheat them, is going to cancel them, is going to guide

them in whatever that they do Hallelujah.

So I've come to tell someone that don't be afraid as the year

has begun. Maybe you are thinking of other

things, but know that as the Holy Spirit is with you, nothing

can bring you down. All that you have to do is to

take the Holy Spirit serious and work with the Holy Spirit.

Hallelujah. When you read Genesis chapter

one verse 2, it says now the earth was formless and empty and

darkness was over the service of the deep and the Spirit of God

was hovering over the waters. Hallelujah.

So this makes us to understand that before creation, when God

wanted to create things, the Spirit of God was there.

So this tells us that the Spirit of God is very, very important.

The Holy Spirit is very, very important.

Before we begin any journey, we must invite the Holy Spirit,

because the Bible tells us that before everything, the Spirit of

God was there. So before you begin anything in

this year, you must invite the Holy Spirit because when you

invite the Holy Spirit in whatever that you do, the Holy

Spirit guides, He directs and he teaches Hallelujah.

Let's move quickly to us, chapter 10, verse 38.

This is one of the verses that I like so much.

And he says how God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with

the Holy Spirit and power and how he went around doing good

and healing all who were under the power of the devil because

God was with him. Hallelujah.

So here makes us understand that Jesus Christ was anointed,

anointed and with the Holy Spirit power he went about doing

good. So we can see that before you

can do good, before you can do ministry, before you embark on

anything you must have the Holy Spirit.

So today whilst I was reading the scripture I was asking

myself, by Jesus Christ, he had the power, he had the authority,

so why the Holy Spirit, why the Holy Spirit?

Because Jesus Christ knew that without the Holy Spirit, He

cannot fulfill His mandate on this earth.

So without the Holy Spirit we cannot fulfill our mandate on

this earth. Why am I saying that?

Because our flesh will always tell us to do things which are

contrary to the Word of God, which are contrary to the Holy

Spirit. So our flesh will tell us to do

this, go and do that, go and do this which is not based on the

Word of God. So with the Spirit of God, with

the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will help us to live a righteous

life with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help us to

speak the truth with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will

help us to do things that we are supposed to do that is aligned

with the Word of God. Hallelujah.

So Jesus Christ was able to fulfill his mandate on it

because He had the Holy Spirit. So he did a lot of things,

healing the sick. All this is because the Holy

Spirit was with Him. This even I've come to tell all

of us that we shouldn't be afraid 'cause we have the Holy

Spirit in US. And if you do not have the Holy

Spirit, I want you to test for the Holy Spirit because this is

the power, this is the strength that Jesus right had.

And it has helped him a lot that when he was going, he told the

disciples to tarry, to wait for their spirit.

Hallelujah. Our main test when you read Luke

chapter one, verse one. Luke chapter one, verse 28 to

35. This is Mary, the story of Mary

when the Angel of the Lord came to tell her, I want us to say

greetings, the verse 28 greetings, you are highly

favored, the Lord is with you. Mary was greatly troubled at the

West and wondered what kind of greetings this might be.

But the Angel said to her, Do not be afraid Mary, for you have

found favor with God, and you conceive and give birth to a

son, and you are to call him Jesus Christ, for he will be

great, and you'll be called the Son of the Messiah.

His Kingdom will never end and marry us.

How can this be tonight? I don't know the things that you

are in, the challenges that you are in and you are asking

yourself how can this be? Maybe the beginning of the year

you have things that you've put in your paper that I want to do

this and that maybe the money is not there.

Maybe you are thinking how can this be by come to tell you

that. Don't be afraid.

Let's see what the Angel said. He said, Mary said, how can this

be? Ask the Angel, since I am a

virgin, how can a virgin give birth?

How can a virgin give birth? So you could see that this thing

was impossible in a human form, this thing was impossible.

But I've come to tell someone that with the Holy Spirit

nothing is impossible. Hallelujah.

With the Holy Spirit nothing is impossible.

So the whole the Angel said, the Holy Spirit will come on you and

the power of the Messiah will over shadow you.

So this is what the Angel said, that the Holy Spirit will come

upon you and the power of the Messiah will over shadow you.

So Mary perhaps was looking at her background that oh, looking

at my background, I'm from a poor home.

This man has to be born in a palace because he is a great

king. He's a great king.

And how can I take this great king?

I cannot. How can this be?

Look at my background, look at the things that have been true.

Maybe this will be your testimony or this is the story

that you are thinking about. That oh, how can this be?

Looking at my education, looking at the money that I have right

now, looking at my circumstances, can I marry?

Can I make it? Can I do this, this and that?

We have a lot of plans, but I've come to tell someone that we

have a lot of plans, but for the plans to come to pass unless we

rely on the Holy Spirit, Hallelujah.

So the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and you see that truly,

truly what the Angel said came to pass this evening.

I've come to tell you that whatever that you are looking

for, don't be afraid as the Spirit of God is with you.

Nothing can break you down, nothing can bring you down in

the name of Jesus. So whatever that you have

planned in 2026, believe that it will come to pass.

Since we have the Holy Spirit, we shouldn't be intimidated.

No, because we have the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of God is with us, so nothing can bring us down.

This year I was thinking of something and something just

came in my spirit that do it, you can do it.

I was looking at some circumstances and say do it, you

can do it, and by the grace of God I will do it because the

Holy Spirit is with me and nothing can bring me down.

If we have this mind that the Holy Spirit is with us, so

nothing can bring us down. People of God, we will not worry

about certain things. We don't have to worry us about

certain things. Why am I saying that?

Because our strength cannot do anything without the Holy

Spirit. Our strength cannot do anything

without the Holy Spirit. So when James Michael came, he

relied on the Holy Spirit. The workers, they relied on the

Holy Spirit. A lot of these ministers, they

relied on the Holy Spirit. So you cannot say your strength

can do it without the Holy Spirit.

No, we have to rely on the Holy Spirit in whatever that we do.

Because when we don't rely on the Holy Spirit, we are going to

use our strength, we are going to use our wisdom, we are going

to use our knowledge, which are going to fail us.

Hallelujah. So we have to have this

mentality that the Holy Spirit that we have, the Holy Spirit

that we are beginning the year with, the Holy Spirit is going

to guide us. The Holy Spirit is going to

teach us, the Holy Spirit is going to protect us.

The Holy Spirit is going to direct us in whatever that we do

Hallelujah. So don't be afraid as Mary was

afraid, Mary was troubled. How can this be?

Look at my background. Where am I coming from?

Jesus need to be born in a palace.

How can she be born? He be born through me.

So this way, the thoughts that way maybe running through Mary's

mind that how can this be? But the Holy Spirit came upon

her and whatever that she was thinking about came to pass.

Hallelujah, the Holy Spirit is with us and whatever that He has

said concerning our life, it will come to pass.

All that we have to do is we have to work with the Holy

Spirit. The Holy Spirit need

relationship with us, the Holy Spirit need relationship with

us. So sometimes the Holy Spirit is

sad because we do not go to Him. We only speak tones when we come

to church, we only speak tones. Some of us, we only speak tones

when we come to church, which is bad because the Holy Spirit is

with us and always He want to hear from us, we want to hear

from us. We depend on you.

Holy Spirit, we have. No.

Power of our. We depend on you.

And on you, Holy Spirit, Amen. We have no power of.

We depend. On you, Holy Spirit.

We have no power of our own. So the Holy Spirit, it's a

necessity, not option. The Holy Spirit is a necessity.

It's not something that we have to decide, that we have to pick

or we have to take and work with, but it is a necessity that

wherever that we will go, whatever that we will do, we

must carry the Holy Spirit along with us.

Because without the Holy Spirit, my brothers, my sisters, we

cannot do anything without Him. Very soon I'll be bringing my

message to an end so that we pray.

Things are impossible without the Holy Spirit, and I've listed

some of them for us to please God.

Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot please God.

There are a lot of things in this world that we see and

nowadays for you to please God, for you to stand for God, it is

the Holy Spirit. It's not even nowadays it is the

Holy Spirit. Because what we see on our

phones, even when you are working a whole lot of things

that we see, if you don't have the Spirit of God in you, my

brother, my sister, you fall because your flesh will be

misleading you that do this and that.

Because the Spirit is not in you.

And sometimes because we do not activate the Spirit that is in

us, the Spirit dies. You only come to church and

speak in tongues, but when we go to the house, we leave it just

like that. So how would the Spirit fuel us?

The Spirit always want to fuel us so that we can use Him fully

for His work. Hallelujah.

So in order for us to please God, we need the Holy Spirit

because our flesh cannot do it. It is the Spirit that will help

us to please God. Hallelujah for us to live a holy

life, It is the Holy Spirit. We cannot live a holy life

without the Holy Spirit. No, for you to live a holy life,

for you to live a righteous life, unless the Holy Spirit

helps you. When the Holy Spirit doesn't

helps you, my brother, my sister, you cannot live the holy

life. You will say it by your mouth,

you see that you are righteous, but when the Holy Spirit is not

in you, you just think that oh I'm good, but you are not OK.

But when the Holy Spirit is in you, you will live a holy life.

Hallelujah for us to overcome sin.

It is the Holy Spirit for us to overcome sin.

It is the Holy Spirit. That's what I said it earlier,

that our strength cannot do these things unless the Holy

Spirit, your strength cannot overcome sin.

It is the Holy Spirit that is going to help you to overcome

sin, that sometimes you see sin and because of the Spirit that

is in you will tell you, my brother, stop.

Don't do it. And you hear it and you stop.

Without the Holy Spirit, you will never hear a voice because

the Spirit of God is not in you. So you just misbehave.

I pray this evening that as we are beginning the year with the

Holy Spirit, may the Holy Spirit help us to overcome sin.

May the Holy Spirit help us to please the Lord.

May the Holy Spirit help us to live a righteous life.

Hallelujah, for us to fulfill our divine mandate, our divine

assignment on earth, it is the Holy Spirit.

So I really tell you that when Jesus Christ came on it, because

of the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit was with him, He

went about doing good. He was able to fulfill His

divine assignment on it. Everybody has a divine

assignment on it. Mine is different, yours is

different. For us to fulfill this

assignment, we need the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of God will communicate to us.

The Spirit of God will help us for us to achieve this sense.

But without the Spirit of God, our divine assignment on it

cannot be achieved. Hallelujah for us to pray

effectively. Sometimes you wake up and you

are tired because the Spirit that is in you.

The percentage may be 10% because we do not allow

ourselves to be filled with the Spirit.

We do not allow ourselves so that the Spirit will fill us and

break us. So sometimes we are not broken.

We use our flesh to do certain things.

When you are broken, you will pray always.

When the Spirit is in you, you, you will test.

You will test that. Oh, I have to pray.

I have to read the Bible. So sometimes because the Spirit

in US, the battery percent is 10 or 20, so we do not test to even

pray, to even read the Bible. And it's continuous and it's

continuous. When it happens like that, sin

will keep coming to your door. I pray that may this never be

our portion as we are beginning the year with the Holy Spirit.

May we be serious with the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit

wants a relationship with us. Hallelujah for true

transformation. It comes from the Holy Spirit

and one example that we can see from the Bible is opposed to

Peter. Peter was a timid man, but when

the Holy Spirit came upon him, this man who stood and 3000

souls were warned for Christ. When the Holy Spirit comes,

there is a total transformation. Some of us, we didn't know how

to even speak. We didn't know even how to

speak, but it true, the Holy Spirit that is helping us,

small, small, small, small, small.

So without the Holy Spirit, some of us by now we will not be

here. So the Holy Spirit bring us

total transformation. So I want to tell someone here

tonight that don't look at your background and say that, oh me,

I cannot stand here and speak the gospel.

You can. With the Holy Spirit you can,

the Holy Spirit will come upon you and He will give you

strength to do God's work. Hallelujah.

So we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us.

Hallelujah. So when the Holy Spirit comes,

He brings total transformation. The last point then I'll bring

my message to an end is when the Holy Spirit comes, He give us

the ability to witness with power.

When the Holy Spirit comes, he give us the ability, the

strength to witness with power. And sometimes I don't blame

people because the the Holy Spirit's percentage is slow.

So when you call for witnesses, when you call for evangelism, we

wouldn't come because we don't see the need to go out there and

speak the gospel. Peter was a timid man when he

didn't have this Holy Spirit, but when the Holy Spirit came

upon him now Peter went out spreading the gospel, because

the Holy Spirit has now come to stay in him.

So without the Holy Spirit, we can't speak the gospel with

power. Sometimes when we call, the

person will not come because he's afraid.

What am I going to say? But with the Holy Spirit, even

if you don't know what to say, He will give you the words to

speak Hallelujah. Some of us, it's not that, oh,

we study too much and we come and stand here.

It's the Holy Spirit that is helping us.

Some of the things you just brush through and the Holy

Spirit will guide you, will give you some wisdom for you to speak

about. So without the Holy Spirit, we

cannot go out there and speak the gospel.

But I pray that as we are beginning the year with the Holy

Spirit, may the Holy Spirit. Grant us the power.

To go out there and speak the gospel for you be transformed

for you to go out there and speak the gospel, it is the Holy

Spirit and you have to turn your mind that it is possible with

the Holy Spirit. All that the Holy Spirit needs

is our relationship, how we will get close to Him for Him to use

us. And when we do that, we will see

the glory of God in this church. When we see we do that, we will

see the glory of God in our lives.

And when we do that, whatever that we need, the Spirit of God

is going to release upon our life.

And in this church, may the Lord bless us all.
