  1. The Holy Egost moved in a mighty way, and to my brother Nathaniel and

  2. I will share with you our experiences while in the country of Dominica, not

  3. to be mistaken for the Dominican Republic, their primitive natural island. At times

  4. you feel like you're in a third world country. For the most part,

  5. you probably are at third world status. Our lives have been in jeopardy while

  6. we're over there. We have some exciting things to share with you all tonight.

  7. We're looking forward to that. I believe you will be really impressed with

  8. what God is doing. It is truly His doing, and it's marvelous in

  9. our eyes. Brother Nathaniel and I looked at one another numerous times and said,

  10. who God can do such things as these? This has to be the

  11. handiwork of the Lord. So we're chomping at the bits to tell you about

  12. our experiences in Dominica. Our service will start at six pm tonight if you

  13. would like to hear about that. Also, we want to thank you for

  14. your support. This blessed people out there have covered our expenses. I thank

  15. you so much. If you only knew how much that helps us as missionaries.

  16. Our burden was tremendously lighter this time because if you all helping bear our

  17. burden, thank you so much. Well, we have an exciting service before

  18. us this morning as well. We're excited about dedicating our beautiful granddaughter Mariah today,

  19. another baby dedication service. If you've ever preached a baby dedication service,

  20. you know it's very convenient to take in hand something called a pastor's manual.

  21. You go to any Christian Bible bookstore and pull out a four by six hardbacked

  22. book that says Pastor's manual. In there is the baby dedication services to read

  23. them verbatim. Also, you can perform wedding ceremonies verbatim by reciting or reading

  24. what is written in that handbook. I made up my mind years ago the

  25. concerning the children that we try to dedicate to the Lord, that I will

  26. try to be sermons specific for that special child, and I will try to

  27. pray in regards to their life as forthcoming and their experiences that they're yet to

  28. embrace. That I will try to get the mind of Christ concerning that child

  29. as an individual, although they're an infant, and I want to do that

  30. yet again. But Brother Walla Butler, we're having so many children born here.

  31. They are working me. But I'm so glad that the church is growing

  32. from people coming from the outside and people being born within the family of God.

  33. My dear brother in the back, they've come in from the outside.

  34. That's so good to have them again. This morning, I was blessed while

  35. on the mission field to hear that him and his press, his family was

  36. here. So God setting him in from the outside. And also he's growing

  37. the church from the inside. So it's keeping me very busy. When they

  38. printed the new church bulletin, I think it was Sister Tammy Wood said,

  39. Pastor, you're going to be the one that's busy this month. You have

  40. so many baby dedications to do this month, and I don't take it lightly.

  41. It would be very convenient. I've been preaching long enough now to know

  42. just take the handbook, put some filler in there, and make it special.

  43. It'd be very convenient to read out of that man your brother would,

  44. but we're gonna try not to do that. So with that in mind,

  45. would you turn with me to Saint Mark's Gospel. May I direct your attention

  46. to the tenth Chapter and Versus number thirteen and through sixteen in the highest regards

  47. to the Word of God, may request that we stand at this time for

  48. the reading of the sacred text again. Our golden texts are verses numbers thirteen

  49. and through sixteen. The Bible says, and they brought young children to him,

  50. that he should touch them, and his disciples rebute those that brought them.

  51. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said, into

  52. them, suffer the little children to coming to me, and forbid them not,

  53. for of such is the Kingdom of God. Verily, I said to

  54. you, whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child receiveth

  55. don't get that. Verily, I said to you, whosoever shall not receive

  56. the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

  57. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them,

  58. and bless them. Could we pray, Heavenly Father, we love him,

  59. We praise you, We thank for your goodness and your mercy. I thank

  60. you for each one that has come today for the special time. As we

  61. dedicate baby Mariah unto the Lord and give her back to you, we pray

  62. that you would annoint this thy servant, set a guard at my mouth,

  63. and help me to say the things that you would have me to say,

  64. nothing more or less. Annoint tears of this thy people, that they might

  65. hear what the spirit said under the church. God, help these sayings to

  66. go below the shoulders, to get in our heart, permeate our spirit,

  67. heart, mind, soul, body, our being. We pray for it

  68. said that we live and move in your spirit. We pray. We pray

  69. God as you would bless baby Mariah and her friends and family this day in

  70. Jesus name. Amen. May we depart this place joyfully and none sorrowfully.

  71. Looking at our text again, March chapter number ten, verses thirteen through sixteen,

  72. may I point out to you. Verse number thirteen almost said that he

  73. should touch them and his disciples rebuke those that brought them, moving on to

  74. verse number fourteen. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and

  75. sending to them, suffer the little children to coming to me, and forbid

  76. them not, for of such is the Kingdom of God. Our text is

  77. found in a New Testament book of the Holy Bible, specifically the Book of

  78. Mark. In fact, the text for Mariah's baby dedication sermon is a very

  79. special text, and we find it in a strange location and get it's a

  80. very special text, but we find it in a strange location because this text

  81. is sandwiched in between the Lord Jesus christ teachings on marriage and divorce, Comma

  82. the sanctity of marriage, and also his encounter with the rich young ruler.

  83. Everywhere Christ went he was teaching and blessing others. One group after another heard

  84. Christ, one group after another saw Christ. Then there were those times that

  85. Christ offered people an opportunity for a personal encounter with him. A biblical example

  86. of this is Nicodemus that came to Jesus by night he had questions for the

  87. Master. So whether it was a group which was a large multitude thronging him,

  88. seeking him out to hear his precious words as he taught, or if

  89. it was an individual seeking a personal encounter, Christ had time for those people.

  90. Christ had time for that large group. Christ at time of people of

  91. every race, nationality, of both genders. Christ had time for the young

  92. and old alike. This generation seems not to have time for our elders.

  93. After somebody achieves a certain stage in their life and reaches a certain age,

  94. they've put them away and forget about them. I'm very thankful for the various

  95. outreach of ministries of our church. We find that there are people in this

  96. building that are trying to make other people enjoy these certain seasons of their life,

  97. people that have been pushed away, outsiders of society, people that have

  98. been neglected. You'd be surprised what a difference a little basket of Christmas cookies

  99. makes to somebody's grandma that has been forsaken, impart in a wheelchair on the

  100. backside of a nursing home. What a difference that makes in people's life when

  101. you have time for them. Somebody approached me not long ago and they said,

  102. brother Howell, one thing that we like about you and your ministry style

  103. is this you're approachable. Secondly, they said, you practice something called serve

  104. leadership and not lordship. Our biblical example for this as ministers is Jesus Christ.

  105. He was approachable at this time of this particular generation. They would not

  106. have allowed children to approach such a wise man. A teacher of this caliper

  107. would not have had time to instruct the little ones. Because, of course,

  108. in most people's minds, they wouldn't have been unable to understand what was

  109. being taught. The general consensus would have been that these little children should be

  110. shoved away in the back corner of a children's church somewhere, and that they

  111. should drink some punch and eat some cookies and not be told about Jesus.

  112. But I have found a brother, Jean Butler, that no matter the age,

  113. or the gender, or the race, that somehow our Lord is able

  114. to help each and every one of us. And for that I am very

  115. thankful. And so we know that these people came in a large group to

  116. hear the instruction of Christ. And anytime Christ is instructing his people, the

  117. words are important words. I feel like every book of this Bible and every

  118. verse within the book of that Bible is very important. That all scripture has

  119. been given by God, I have found it to be profitable for instruction.

  120. As I prayed about little baby Mariah, brother Samuel and sister Megan, I

  121. said, God, would you give me a sermon that his sermon specific for

  122. this precious little baby. And as I began to pray, the Holy Ghost

  123. descended upon me where I was knelt down, and I heard the Lord,

  124. give me the nickname for this grandchild. The nickname is sweet Tart. Her

  125. mommy and Daddy has heard that for the first time. And I said,

  126. God, I don't want to just reach into a hat, pull something out,

  127. open a piece of paper and say here's her nickname. I'd love for

  128. it to come from heaven. Brother Nathaniel, stand up right quickly, right

  129. there, if you'll show them our precious little blessing. When Brother Nathaniel and

  130. Sister Rachel were unable to have children, we had received a word that there

  131. was about to be a natural abortion that was going to take place right in

  132. the middle of one of our services. Brother Nathaniel and Sister Rachel approached the

  133. platform and with a look of total despair, Brother Nathaniel said, Dad,

  134. I believe we have to go to the hospital. Rachel's about to lose the

  135. baby. And we prayed, and Brother Nathaniel and Sister Rachel, my wife

  136. and I we exited the back door at the back of the building there and

  137. as we walked out, the Holy Egels again fell upon me and I begin

  138. to pray two words little Row. As we climbed up into suburban and closed

  139. the doors, I bowed my head, and I said, let's pray.

  140. I said, God, would you please just give us one little arrow?

  141. He calls up. Until this point, brother Nathaniel and sister Rachel were unable

  142. to have a child to hold for themselves. But you know what, God

  143. granted that request and gave us little arrow. And there's little arrow this morning.

  144. Also, sister Mariah has a big sister, stand up brother Samuel.

  145. Her big sister is Natalie Rose Hammel. She is a beautiful young girl,

  146. of beautiful personality, and her nickname is a sugar pot because she is nothing

  147. but sugar. She's total sweetness, and you know what happens when you have

  148. too much sweetness, You're rotten to the core. She's so precious and so

  149. sweet. Everybody loves her contagious personality. But concerning Sister Mariah, I was

  150. praying, and it seemed like the Lord let me know that the parents had

  151. named her appropriately or properly. The name Mariah means the land of teaching or

  152. God is my teacher. And I realized that this young girl is going to

  153. be one that wants to be taught. As this holy ghost was present,

  154. it was as though I saw her become a spune sister Megan, and then

  155. I saw her return to her natural visage, and she would return to a

  156. sponge. And I realized, brother the brother Samuel, that this little baby

  157. will be all ears, and she will be somebody that soaks in things until

  158. she gets saturated. That can be a good thing or that can be a

  159. bad thing, because she will be very teach up that baby in the way

  160. that she should go. I do believe that it's going to work out for

  161. her good, and she is going to be a very unique personality because of

  162. her desire to learn. As Brother Waldau Butler mentioned a little while ago,

  163. he is a listener when you're pastor when I was a young boy, people

  164. noted that I was a listener, and a lot of the things that I

  165. know today or teach what I'm teaching or preach what I'm preaching, is because

  166. when all of the other children were playing, I was listening to what was

  167. being said. And I know that not everybody that was present on this day

  168. when Christ was teaching on the sanctity of marriage, and whenever the rich young

  169. ruler was approaching him, not everybody was listening. Not everybody's motives were pure.

  170. There were some coming there for the loaves and the fishes. There were

  171. some coming there to be benefited financially. There were some coming to see if

  172. their pantries could be filled up. But there were people that we're listening to

  173. see. If this group ain't mine, this awesome philosopher, this teacher of

  174. all teachers, would impart into them and their children some words of eternal life

  175. and words of blessing. And so whether they came in a large group or

  176. one by one, they were blessed when they got into his presence. Those

  177. of you that belonged to the bethelhol in his church, you can testify and

  178. say that whenever it was three or four of us, we were still in

  179. his presence. Now that it's between sixty to eighty, depending on if everybody's

  180. here, we are blessed to say that, even though the numbers have increased,

  181. we are still in his presence. I pray that His presence never depart

  182. from this place, your family or our lives. I say, God,

  183. would you help us to always frequent this house where your name is known.

  184. Praise God that we can come into this place. Other Samuel's sister Megan,

  185. this is a wonderful start in training up that inquiring mind, that one that

  186. will be a sponge for knowledge, that one that will be so impressionable and

  187. so teachable, is to bring her into the presence of the Lord. I'm

  188. sure there were some people that disregarded the teachings of Jesus and they just letting

  189. his words be like water off the duck's back. It's hard to believe that

  190. the Son of God, the Word himself, could have been teaching that day

  191. and somebody could have went home and enjoyed a family dinner with the rest of

  192. the group and said, what did he say? I was too busy watching

  193. the people. I was too busy looking at all in distractions. At somehow

  194. I missed the words of the Master. I feel like little Mariah will not

  195. be one that misses the words of the Master. And she's also not going

  196. to be one that will miss your words. I think we need to be

  197. careful what we are saying as a church family around this little mind and these

  198. little ears. Oh be careful, little mouth, what's you say? Oh

  199. be careful, little eyes, what's you see? Because the Father up above

  200. is looking down and love. So let's be careful as a church as we

  201. watch this little sponge try to soak up the knowledge that she needs. So

  202. this comes back to the setting of this sermon. We see that busy mommies

  203. are bringing little rambunctious children into the presence of God. They broke away from

  204. their daily assignments and their routine chores because of one opportunity and possibility of seeing

  205. and hearing Jesus. Now there is no doubt they did this for themselves,

  206. but they also did this for their children. When I got saying to start

  207. to serve the Lord, I can say, like brother Walter or Butler,

  208. that he definitely made me a new creature not long after I got saved him

  209. and he's a lord. Is that really my assignment? He said it is,

  210. And I said, well, I want to do my best. If

  211. so, sometimes I believe people mistake my intentions. It is just simply a

  212. pushback to say, hey, what about separation, what about sanctification, what

  213. about holiness? It's just because it's what I was called to do for me.

  214. It's a heaven or held issue if I don't preserve holiness for the next

  215. generation. So if I've ever been offensive with the words of my mouth,

  216. my manner or conduct, please understand I am not better than anybody, nor

  217. am I trying and sold anybody. I am the least in this building,

  218. because those that are leading should be servants of them all. I want to

  219. help us. I want to preserve holiness for the upcoming generation. I really

  220. do believe in separation from the world unto God. And you can see here

  221. that these mommies were not seeking out some wise man of the city. They

  222. were not seeking out of witch doctor, but they were seeking out this lowly

  223. Jesus. So get the imagery with me here. It's not one or two

  224. mothers. It's a group of mothers with a lot of children. Now I

  225. know I'm fixing and try to pull off something that's probably impossible. Every child

  226. under the age of thirteen, including the inputs. If your mother could take

  227. you by the hand as much as possible and come around the front of the

  228. church right here to make three circles around these altars, then return to your

  229. seat, let's do that. I want you to get the imagery of there

  230. being a service going on where a teacher of teachers and the preachers of preachers

  231. is preaching, and suddenly there is a distraction, This disrupt and is not

  232. disorganized. This is a well organized effort of mothers that wanted to get their

  233. children to Jesus. Already, your minds are being distracted as you see these

  234. numerous mommies and numerous children coming forward. We see sugar pappas looking at the

  235. crowd, walking on our tippy toes, and we see some of these barmies

  236. have three in their hands, and others are waiting on one another, and

  237. they're trying to get to Jesus. As you see them approaching Jesus, they're

  238. working their way through the crowd. And as they're doing this, working their

  239. way through the crowd, Jesus takes notice. Not only does Jesus take notice,

  240. but his disciples take notice, which are his bodyguards. His bodyguards notice

  241. that these crazy mommies are trying to bring their children to Jesus. Immediately,

  242. their next turn red. They get plustered, and they're wonder what can we

  243. do to keep them from getting to Jesus. Because what Jesus is teaching matters.

  244. These people need to hear it. And so Brother Jesse, they believe

  245. these little ears are too little to hear. Hey, the Bible didn't say

  246. he that hath big ears. Let him hear what the spirits saith under the

  247. churches. They didn't say, he that hath little ears, let him hear

  248. what the spirit saith under the churches. The Bible said, he that hath

  249. an ear, let him hear what the spirits saith under the churches. And

  250. so the people of this day and hour would have felt like that was disrespectful.

  251. They would have felt like, that is wrong. How dare you start

  252. working your way through the crowd, for children are to be seen and not

  253. heard. We need to keep him on the outskirt so that don't distract the

  254. Master while he is teaching to me. That was very precious to see these

  255. mothers and fathers leading their little ones to the presence of the Master. While

  256. most people would have objected that, some would have been a conscientious objector.

  257. Some would have been vocal and verbal and said, Hey, that ain't right,

  258. that's wrong, how dare they do that? Who do they think they

  259. are? I would have been one of those men standing off to the side.

  260. If I'd have been a disciple that Jesus and warrant, tears would have

  261. started flowing down my face and had said that is so moving. There is

  262. nothing in the world as moving as a mother's heart when it begins to manifest

  263. her love. And as they watched this, there was some that just protested

  264. and objected, and Jesus Christ himself, who had chosen some of his followers,

  265. were displeased and disappointed because some of his very own the elect, the

  266. chosen, Some of the Twelve are beginning to push those Mommy's back. Sister

  267. Megan, would you stand up with baby Mariah? Isn't she beautiful? Doesn't

  268. she looks so pretty in her dedication gown. I'm telling you, when you

  269. look at baby Mariah, you see a little bit of Samuel and a whole

  270. lot of Sister Megan. She's so beautiful, thank God. But one thing

  271. U sees little girls is their daddy's big eyes, her Danny's big eyes.

  272. She's got her daddy's big eyes. But when I look at her, I

  273. see Sister Megan, and I see such potential. Does the sweet in the

  274. tart right there? Red headed sweetness and brown headed tarts. Samuel's the tart,

  275. Megan's the sweet. But I see such a beautiful child. I feel

  276. like this child will be multi talented, that the Lord will bless her in

  277. a mighty way, and that perhaps because her name means Maria. How many

  278. of you know a good name is ready to be chosen than great riches and

  279. loving favor, than silver and gold. Because farm and Daddy gave her a

  280. good name. When they first named her as a preacher, I immediately knew

  281. they had named her after something in the Bible. And so after Maria was

  282. born, I said, how did you spell that? Because when I was

  283. lost and undone, without God and a son and in the world, one

  284. of my favorite seniors named was Mariah. She was the queen of pop music

  285. of that day in the eighties and the nineties, And I said, how

  286. did y'all spell her name? In fact, I had to throw Mariah out

  287. of the car, and no joke to night I got saved, she went

  288. too happy about it. Now I threw her cd act because you know,

  289. whenever I was lost in sin, she scratched an itch and nobody else could

  290. scratch. There was vibes that I was looking for that she could provide better

  291. than anybody in the world. They were high notes that she could hit that

  292. nobody else could hit. She was very moving, But thank God, the

  293. night I got saved, I found a different Mariah, a different teacher.

  294. Those of you that are familiar with a Mount to Mariah, that is the

  295. place where Abraham offered his son Isaac unto the Lord. Also, Mount Mariah

  296. is the site of Solomon's temple. It is known as the land of Teaching.

  297. Brother Samuel, I believe you might have right there a Sunday school class

  298. teacher among teachers, somebody very special, somebody that could perhaps be a graphic

  299. artist or somebody that knows how to tap that resource and be a tremendous blessing

  300. to others. Does anybody feel that besides me? Jesus was teaching on some

  301. very difficult topics, the sanctity of marriage, and this large group approaches him

  302. and I could hear it now. Jesus stops his teaching and it gets really

  303. quiet. Jesus, don't stop teaching now, you're talking about the sanctity of

  304. marriage. There's a lot of people need to hear that. But it gets

  305. quiet, and Jesus begets to focus on what is the distraction of the moment.

  306. It's not the devil. A lot of times the devil tries to interrupt

  307. our service and distract us from Jesus this particular time, and this is of

  308. God. Nobody's gonna understand it. There's no sense in trying and explain it

  309. to anybody. Jesus realizes these mommies intentions is pure, their motives are pure,

  310. and he tells his disciples that are pushing these mommies away. Now,

  311. how disappointing that would be for some of you, while others of you would

  312. say, that's great, good job, bodyguard, that's wonderful. Throw their

  313. hauts out of here. What are they doing? Who do they take the

  314. art? But Jesus stops And if you'll look our Golden Text Verses thirteen three

  315. sixteen A sandwiched in between so serious teaching, so right in the middle of

  316. a wonderful service. If we're spirit, let God con speak to little ears

  317. as well as big years and give them instruction that will keep them and help

  318. them understand how to handle the school bully, give them understanding of how to

  319. handle the teacher. The teaching of elution we got them. Part into these

  320. children. Knowledge of Jesus begins to let these people know this is not my

  321. followers of tomorrow. These are my followers of today. In fact, whenever

  322. Jesus began to approach Jerusalem. You will remember it was the little children that

  323. began to see Josanna in the highest I wonder if they were reacting and responding

  324. to be in touch that day. Wonder if we would allow our children to

  325. approach the altars more sincerely and seriously more often, and if we would accompany

  326. them into the presence of Jesus and lead them into the presence of the Lord.

  327. Despite what the church deacon or elder of the church bodyguards say. Hey,

  328. I say, if they want to shout, looking baby shout, I

  329. said, they want to run around the church and love what Jesus because the

  330. precious soul has been saying. I say, let them run. How do

  331. you know that God has not perfected praise and our named the strength of the

  332. glory of God through the little One suffered them, little children. Jesus had

  333. suffered them, little children. Allow them to come unto me. Don't turn

  334. them away, Please, don't turn them away. We'll preacher. It's twelve

  335. fifteen in the chicken house, as the frig chick could ready for us.

  336. Yeah, but what about that little baby that's down there in the altar praying?

  337. What great man of God said years ago. He said, to the

  338. heavens, rejoice in health troubles when even the youngest of children praise. But

  339. our tendency is, well, it's just a child. It's just a little

  340. child. The bride chickens getting cold supper, the little children, and forbidd

  341. them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Listen to this.

  342. I suppose that there might have been a baby girl there that day named

  343. Mariah, and in that crowd, somebody heard Jesus say, come here,

  344. and Mariah, come here, Mariah, Meghan, bring Mariah unto me.

  345. I'm talking about Mariah, our little sweet tart, preaching a sermon titled Mommy,

  346. take me to Jesus. And my second point is, Mamma, teach

  347. me about Jesus. I feel like the greatest responsibility upon sister making shoulders will

  348. be to teach or train and take her children to Jesus. And when Jesus

  349. receives this little baby Mariah, notice that it was emphasized that it was the

  350. mommy's bringing them to Jesus. Brother Samuel, you're not going to be left

  351. out of this morning sermon. Awesome responsibilities upon your shoulders too. In fact,

  352. you'll carry the weight of the world as provider and protector of this precious

  353. family God has entrusted you with. But Sister Megan seems to be in this

  354. particular case, She's going to be the divine instructor to this little soul.

  355. Bring little Mariah Megan into the land of teaching. Bring little Mariah Megan to

  356. the teacher of teachers. And now let me ask you, Megan, what

  357. is it that you desire for me to do? And you can see the

  358. desire Sister Megan's heart, or that he would take my baby up into his

  359. arms and bless him, or bless her all, that he would take my

  360. little Mariah up into his arms and bless her. I have seen you,

  361. mothers of Israel, pray for the children or the offspring of the bethal hole

  362. in this church many times. And I have seen God bless the children of

  363. this church family because of your motherly prayers. It takes more than motherly instincts

  364. to train and God at y'all, it takes motherly inspiration. I feel the

  365. Holy Ghost in a unique way this morning. I feel like I'm speaking maybe

  366. to more than just these parents, but our prayers as parents ought to me

  367. to see Jesus bless our babies. Mommy's would you close your eyes just for

  368. a minute and ask God to bless our babies each and everyone, no matter

  369. their age, Because mammas, I feel like your prayers are so important to

  370. our children's well being spiritually and naturally. These disciples might have said to Jesus,

  371. everybody's wanting to get to you. Look at the multitude enthronged you.

  372. No, there's something about these mothers intent. They really want them babies to

  373. be touched and blessed by me. Suffer the little children to come into me

  374. and forbid them not, Jesus Christ was saying, allow these little people to

  375. come into me, and do not turn them away. What a beautiful sight

  376. it was to behold as the little children were blessed by the master that was

  377. blessing the adults. People of this generation knew exactly as the mothers of these

  378. children knew. They bring their children to prominent people, hoping that they will

  379. bless them, or hoping that this particular encounter will forever change their little child.

  380. Some people take their children to a Southern gospel music concert so they could

  381. watch a certain musician play skillfully upon some instrument, whether that be the piano

  382. or the guitar, hoping that they will fling a craving or a desire to

  383. become as skilled of a musician as that person is. Recently, we were

  384. disappointed and displeased with Buddhist people. A lot of people viewing the world stage

  385. was greatly disappointed because within this particular religion, the wise man, the teacher

  386. that people were coming to see, the one they were thronging, the ones

  387. they were begging to behold, the ones that they were begging to touch,

  388. that very one, he allowed a young man to approach him, and then

  389. he violated that young boy's innocence. You are familiar if you're reading the news

  390. and watching the headlines with how upset the world is. As they saw this

  391. disappointment as a spiritual leader violated a young boy who simply wanted to receive a

  392. hug of blessing from a spiritual leader. Well, Jesus did not disappoint the

  393. bombs and death. Jesus did not leave these children tainted or polluted in their

  394. mind. Jesus did not impart a strange or a familiar spirit into them.

  395. But they walked away blessed the beloved position. Luke put an emphasis on the

  396. fact that they brought little babies. If you studied those particular words of Luke

  397. the Position and his Gospel, he put an emphasis on they were tiny impats,

  398. just as Mariah is this morning. But if you reach on Mark's gospel

  399. and look at the definition of these words in the Greek, you will see

  400. that he's referring to children from the age of twelve and down. An influx

  401. of children were approaching Jesus. So we have the age of when it is

  402. critical to train up our children in the way they should go. I mentioned

  403. this recently in a sermon and during one of my exhortation, and not to

  404. weary the crowd, I did not try to explain to you why I believe

  405. this to be so. But the reason why I believe this to be so

  406. is in this specific passage, this biblical example, we find the children from

  407. the age of twelve and down are the most impressionable. That is a critical

  408. age when you must minister or teach your children in the ways of Jesus Christ.

  409. Well, could I get a namen right there? I want to put

  410. out a few things for us. If you'll notice in this text, if

  411. our children are to be blessed by Jesus, first we must bring them to

  412. Jesus, and not the doli lama. If our children are to be blessed

  413. by Jesus, we much must bring them to Jesus. How can we do

  414. that in this life, amongst this wicked and perverse generation. The closest thing

  415. that we have to have it is a church where the Bible is being promoted,

  416. and as teachings are being preachers. We must bring them to Jesus.

  417. It says in verse number thirteen they brought young children to him. The parents

  418. were persistent, I'm going to take more time right here in terry, just

  419. for a little while. They knew that these children would need more than one

  420. encounter. It is not enough to bring your child to the priests, the

  421. preacher, or the pope that they've sprinkle a little water on them and lay

  422. a rose on their breast, kiss them on the forehead, and say they're

  423. eternally secure. That is not enough. That is how we raise hellions.

  424. We grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  425. That is not how we grow or advance The Kingdom. The Bible said

  426. that a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Secondly, I

  427. want to point out, if our children are to be blessed by Jesus,

  428. we must bring them close to Jesus while they are young or impressionable, while

  429. they are still a sponge and don't know everything. Brother Samuel, you see,

  430. you gotta get them off of the line that marks the boundaries between the

  431. Church and the world, and you've got to get them into the altar.

  432. That's what Abraham did with Isaac when he brought his precious little child Isaac.

  433. He brought him to the altar. I remember when I first started bringing those

  434. six, five boys and one girl to the altar. Bring them as close

  435. as you can to Jesus. I want to say this, almost foking tongues.

  436. Now it's prime time to win our children for Jesus Christ, during these

  437. earlier years of their life. If we do not do it now, if

  438. we waved, we have waited to law. Jesus spoke to his mother and

  439. said, I must be about the father's business. How old was he twelve?

  440. At twelve years of age, he realized with a spiritual awareness and felt

  441. a personal accountability and responsibility to the father, that I must be about the

  442. father's business. They come on churches dot village business, Holy churches dot need's

  443. business. Only church is children's business. Because if Marmy's introduced them to Jesus

  444. Christ villaging Butler, they walked away forever change. I've heard of single prayers

  445. raising their children without another prayer in the home. But because they introduced Jesus

  446. into that equation, Jesus became a father to the fatherless. Jesus get exactly

  447. what they needed to be done Proverbs twenty two and six. I'll try to

  448. refrain from preaching. This is a baby dedication ceremony, but the Bible said

  449. train up a child in the way that he or she should go, that

  450. when he has grown old, he will not depart from it. Train up

  451. a child in those critical years between the ages of so many months and twelve

  452. all the benefits of being brought to Christ. There's some of you here this

  453. morning. You can say I do not have the scars on my spiritual soul

  454. because my mommy and daddy understood what Pastor Howell is preaching and teaching this morning.

  455. There's people that can stand up young men that are preachers of the Gospel

  456. can stand up and say, my mommy and Daddy took it seriously to bring

  457. me up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord. Even the Israelites

  458. when they were on the move from Egypt unto the Promised Land, they were

  459. told, instruct your children. You have to speak to them concerning the things

  460. of God. You have to sit down with him when they don't understand the

  461. double standard, when they don't understand this and understand that, you have to

  462. show them the scripture. You have to take the time to instruct him.

  463. Brother Samuel and Sister Megan, there were a lot of times and Sister how

  464. and I and our ministry had got home late at night and one of our

  465. kids would say, Dad, I don't understand this. This is confusing me.

  466. And I had to sit down and bring them into the living room.

  467. And whether Gabriel began to instruct him, and what thus said the word of

  468. God? Because I found there are times that even the words of Cheremy and

  469. Charity Howell are not enough. That I've never found it to be so that

  470. the words of God are not enough. Oh, the benefits of the Blessed

  471. Book, Freedom of Jesus Binom a Bible. One of the things we will

  472. be given Mariah this morning is a cute little Bible. Amen, look at

  473. that little bible with that fine print that Papa cannot read. It isn't that

  474. cute? Those little eyes though, will be able to read that one day,

  475. Brother Samuel, I feel like you will do right, Sister Megan.

  476. I feel like you will do right and not withholding from this child the most

  477. precious of things, which includes church attendants, Bible, devotion, and just

  478. love it on Jesus. The benefits of a child has been brought to Jesus.

  479. How many of you know an untrained child will not fear God, neither

  480. will that child love God. Brother Nathaniel and Izbisionaries can tell you. Unless

  481. people be taught, they have no knowledge whatsoever. When we first come to

  482. South Florida, I guess it was fifteen years ago to try to do work

  483. for the Lord in obedience to his mandate. I was a preaching, huffing

  484. and a puffing like we'll be doing here in the near future. I'm trying

  485. to do that here this morning. But in the middle of that message,

  486. Sister, when do you remember this sandwich. Right between some serious things,

  487. a little innocent soul stood up, and this is why we have a child

  488. Sunday school class. That little innocent child that had been brought up in LaBelle,

  489. Florida, in these United States of America started doing this right here.

  490. Excuse me, preacher, excuse me, preacher, excuse me, preacher.

  491. And I stopped and I said that, yes, I didn't say, hey,

  492. make that bratch sit down. Hey, that's a disruption of what God's

  493. trying to do. That child had a legitimate question. Now, as parents,

  494. we know better than to interrupt a service. But that little child right

  495. there stood up and said, I got to ask a question. Who is

  496. Jesus? So, Brother Waldo, at the thirty five minutes of preaching,

  497. the little kid said, who is Jesus? He was a visitor that morning.

  498. His parents had never told him who Jesus is. I'm glad that I

  499. know who Jesus is. I'm glad that brother Samuel, Sister Megan will teach

  500. sister Mariah who Jesus is. I'm glad she'll know the lyrics to the gospel

  501. song. I'm glad she'll know the verses of the Good book. I'm glass

  502. him know who Jesus is. I'm glad that little sponge will sit in this

  503. church and soak up every testimony that the Age Saint gives. I'm game for

  504. that little sponge will sit right there praising God and worshiping God. Amen.

  505. An untrained child will not fear God. The parents must bring their children to

  506. Jesus, the teacher of teachers. Again, Mariah's name means God is my

  507. teacher. And I've noticed already since the service started this morning, Sister Bacon

  508. has been busy teaching her daughters. While Sister Wooten was testified, I'm testifying.

  509. I looked over there and I just was amazed as such a good teacher.

  510. She's such a good teacher. And I can tell I have pushed it

  511. very upset. But now so we're gonna cut this short so we can get

  512. the baby dedicated and get mom and daddy on the road. But as parents,

  513. we are to train and teach our children. How many of y'all know

  514. teaching and training works, And not to take your precious time. I'm just

  515. trying to pour into you. I felt like some of you are receiving it

  516. as a sponge. But my daughter Hannah received an Australian and shepherd. Well,

  517. I've had Australian shepherds. I like labs, I like American bulldogs.

  518. I love dogs. I've got plenty of them at my house. I've got

  519. a stroke throughout the balm. I love dogs. But Hannah wasn't teaching that

  520. dog how to obey. Well, there's one thing that brother Jeremy Howe has

  521. never had to do, and let's put a dog in a pin or a

  522. cage. We cage them up at night just to keep them from strang because

  523. the dog will always be a dog, and when the cat's away, the

  524. mice of play. But during the day, as long as the goodman of

  525. the house is home, as long as they're instructor Jeremy Howe and their other

  526. instructor, Charity House prays that them dogs do not leave our yard. Our

  527. children were the same way. They did not leave our yard. I wasn't

  528. concerned about an abduction because we kept them from being drifters. But my daughter

  529. Hannah got that Australian shepherd and we would say, just like this without an

  530. elevated voice, so sweetly, we'd say, getting a pen. I mean

  531. you could be grilling hot dogs, eating hamburgers. Brother, would just all

  532. the lessons of this life around them, camp fire, those dogs lusting after

  533. everything you're eating, look in their chops. But all you had to do

  534. with a muffled voice where the crowd couldn't hear us, get in the pit

  535. and son, it's nothing but wagon tells one, two, three, four,

  536. yeah, really five six? Then the pin, But sister Hannah's Australian

  537. shepherd just prints it around. And finally, after waiting to see will they

  538. teach, will they train? Will they work with that dog? After months?

  539. You won't know how I'm natured. Finally I said that right, there's

  540. uncalled for. I said, teach the dog, because it's not on the

  541. dog. It's on y'all. I said. If you don't teach the dog,

  542. the dogs leaving my property. They left the house and went got a

  543. training doll or immediately started working with a dog with a lead line. Go

  544. to the pen, Go to pin, Go to the pen, Go to

  545. the pen, Go to pen, Go to the pen. And you know,

  546. for the most part, now when you say go to the pen,

  547. that dog goes to the pen. Now, parents, I said it a

  548. little while ago, the Word of God said, a child left to himself,

  549. bringeth his mother to shame. If you let Xbox baby sit your kids,

  550. don't be surprised when they shoot a school up. Bab wouldn't say shoot

  551. it up, and said, train it up, Train up a child in

  552. the way they should go. Sister began as a wonderful teacher. I mean,

  553. I love it. I take him to barbecue if Natalie gets just a

  554. little drop of barbecue sauce on her lip or on her chin. Sister Megan

  555. just so sweet, and then tenderly said, take this napkin, wipe your

  556. mouth. All of my daughter in laws are great teachers. All of these

  557. move been around here are great teachers. But parents, we have to teach

  558. our children training works, our dear missionaries, training people on foreign sore works.

  559. That's why we're having a hole in his conference in Dominica, Dominica,

  560. because people are saying, teach us what the Bible says concerning certain doctrinal truths.

  561. Solomon said it that wise man, you know, the one that was

  562. smarter than everybody, than all of the kings and queens, were coming just

  563. together around this teacher and teachers, and to hear his wise works speak.

  564. He said, train them kids, train them kids, receive instruction and pass

  565. it on to the next generation. Train if he was good for you,

  566. but it'd been good for your kids. I've heard parents before say, well,

  567. my parents were disciplinarians, so I'm not going to be a disciplinarian.

  568. You spare the rod, you'll spoil the child. Do you know when you

  569. begin to train a child, it comes in three phases. The first phase

  570. is control. Control. You teach that child when to sleep and when to

  571. be awake. You do, parents, you're not near as smiley as you

  572. as you are when they finally sleep through the night. Right now, you

  573. know you're not that smiley right now? You know I'm telling the truth.

  574. Though, If that baby gets us days and nights mixed up, and Mama,

  575. you come out looking like a wet dish rag has been thrown in the

  576. backyard and tore apart by dogs, and you said, pastor, pray for

  577. me. My baby's got days and nights. Bay said, you know what

  578. you start doing, You start controlling that child. There's a lot of ujijigu

  579. and all this stuff was trying to sleep, you know, hey, wake

  580. up, wake up, And that some of them. Children will eat and

  581. eat and eat and eat, and they'll cry, and they'll scream till they

  582. get the bottle. They'll vomit it out, they'll throw up on you and

  583. Daddy's best suit, and then they'll cry a pitch a fit because they're so

  584. sure they need to eat. But Mama, are you cruel? Are you

  585. controlling? You're saying I'm controlling food portion control. I'm teaching them. I'm

  586. controlling them right now because they don't know how to control themselves. A child

  587. runs out into a highway, so Mama has to grab it by the arm

  588. and take control. Oh thank god, they'll still love pastor. Right.

  589. So we train up a child. So we do it from birth to maturity,

  590. and it first begins with taking control. We train them up, brother

  591. Tyler, you'll find out what I'm talking about. One day, we get

  592. them on a schedule. Then after we have taken control of them and set

  593. the schedule, then we instruct them. There's the instructional phase of their life.

  594. And you will see that. Sister Mariah will enjoy that very much.

  595. Here's why she's gonna have the name Sweetheart. She's gonna be a little know

  596. at all and she's gonna be so full of knowledge that if mommy and daddy

  597. ever don't do right, she's gonna let him know what the Bible said.

  598. Sister Woods are shaken and are trembling, and they're realized. We got us

  599. a little teacher on our head, a little instructor. And Sam's gonna have

  600. to remind her, wait a minute, you're a little girl, and I'm

  601. the daddy. You're a little girl, and that's the mamma. But the

  602. good news is, did they train her off right? Then? One day

  603. two is better than one, of course, but one day a threefold corp

  604. will not easily be broken. If they could just bringing this family up,

  605. provert to maturity as by the Samuel Sister megan, growing their experiences together as

  606. they help their children, growing this experience of life. Everybody has to be

  607. training up, somebody beating this morning. Brother Rick Jacob said it. He

  608. said, one woman tried a certain church and she said that doesn't work.

  609. I need something better than that. I gotta scale it up. I gotta

  610. grow him up. And she just kept moving up till she felt old time

  611. pentecostic. She said, hey, that's enough. I like that. I

  612. love what I'm gonna be there. So after that we have taken control of

  613. them, and after we have instructed them, then we get into those critical

  614. years they get to be teenagers and come here, brother Samuel, I've done

  615. this a lot of times when my sons, they said, this was the

  616. hardest part of them being the sons and daughter of a disciplinarian counsel have a

  617. seat in the chair and talking to them and counseling them for however long it

  618. took, Is that right, brother Samuel, if it took thirty minutes or

  619. three hours. Brother Waldo said a little while ago, because his daddy used

  620. the belt, he no longer needs the belt. And he admitted and said,

  621. there was a time in my life when daddy must take control and Dave

  622. Daddy must instruct he said, but now I no longer need to belt on

  623. my backside because Daddy gave me plenty when he was taking control of my mind.

  624. Molded me. I am not advocating beating children, that's for sure.

  625. My children have never walked away with bumps or bruises because of me beating them.

  626. But the thing that they despised the most as they went from birth to

  627. maturity. But now they loved the most as counsel. They loved to hear

  628. the teacher teach, just as this young man loves to hear the teacher teach

  629. his expert on the admonishing of the Saints of Bethel Lowe's as much as they

  630. do preach it, because you could look on the faces of people and realize,

  631. people really do want to be taught by nature. People really do want

  632. to improve it, really do want to become better people. And so we

  633. look at Sister Mariah this morning. She's in the control stage. This should

  634. be an instructive stage. And then one day, thank you, brother Samuel,

  635. would you sit down now, let's get sister Faith. Come here,

  636. Sister Faith. One day she'll be in the counseling stage. Come here,

  637. my little daughter. And I want to tell you there's a lot of things

  638. that you don't understand about things we're seeing. I can't go into detail and

  639. really tell you exactly why you can't do this or why I don't want you

  640. to do this, but I will give you enough information important to you,

  641. enough knowledge to protect your innocence and protect your purity, and protect your conscience

  642. and help you. And that's what these mommies would do. And they cared

  643. so much for their little ones that they wanted them little ones to get close

  644. enough to Jesus that they could be blessed. The kiss of the doll Alama

  645. let a mama down, but the blessing of Jesus will never let them molly

  646. down. In my opinion, the doll Alama to be hung up by his

  647. neck and swing from a tree because of the spirit he put upon those people.

  648. But Jesus will never defy out of the ears, Brother Samuel and Sister

  649. Megan, would yall come forward at this time? Thank you, Sister Faith

  650. Mariah Jehovah. Teach us sweet Tartet, you will see sweetness in her life,

  651. but it won't all be peaches and cream. Should be very positive about

  652. black and white. Ye, you will see with her that it's heaven or

  653. head, black or white. There's no gray areas. The by betimes sugar

  654. Pop says, old, what's the big deal? It doesn't matter. The

  655. sweet heart says yeah, but it does. I think God for checks and

  656. balances in my life. We have fourteen preachers under this ministry, several pastors

  657. churches, and those guys say they say pastor we appreciate the checks and balances

  658. that you bring into our life. I believe this is going to be the

  659. tart and sweet, not something you despise, but something you love. She'll

  660. be the first to throw the red flag up and say, but it's not

  661. what Papa's preaching. That's what Jesus said. Now that blesses me. That

  662. really encourages me system with it. But I see this and her mother too,

  663. and I think it's a beautiful thing, don't you. Brother, But

  664. when somebody's out there in the congregation, but he's trying to pull the wool

  665. over somebody's eyes, and there's somebody's got enough of God in there, brother

  666. Jean, to say, no, that's not what the Bible teaches. That

  667. is not what my Master said that day when I got close to his presence,

  668. and I'm so tented to preach us because I I'm so excited, But

  669. I want to ask those that had the holy ghosts if you would please come

  670. and gether close. Also, Grandma's come close. Please get up beside him.

  671. Brother Jesse, would you come to the piano and begin to play every

  672. so softly. Jesus loves the little children. At request to the parents.

  673. I did not know the psalm that you had picked. I had no idea

  674. when God gave me the Golden text for his dedication ceremony that Jesus would be

  675. displaying his affection and little once. So we know we have heard from him,

  676. and this is one of the most serious times in our lives, is

  677. when we bring our little ones back to God. He gave them to us,

  678. and we present him back to the Lord. This is no new practice.

  679. This is something that Hannah of old done. This is something your parents

  680. done, Megan. This is something your parents done, saying we dedicated you

  681. all to God, and as a result of that, you two are here

  682. together today. So as we move into the formal part of a ceremony,

  683. we'd like to proceed with a dedication vows, Brother Samuel and Sister Megan,

  684. believing that this child is in fact a gift from God, and that she

  685. shall hold you accountable that great day when she stands before God. It's her

  686. instructors of Christ, and that God shall hold you accountable for what you've done

  687. with her and your instructions. It's just life. Do you solemnly agree that

  688. it is your purpose to dedicate this child to the Lord and for his service.

  689. Will you pray with her, instruct her faithfully, because she's gonna want

  690. to know she's gonna be one of them. I just gotta know. We

  691. come back from camp meeting, I just gotta know. I mean, isn't

  692. this or isn't that. I just got to know she's gonna be one of

  693. those. And you're gonna have to offer her clarity for her confusion. But

  694. it's gonna have to come from the book. You can't make it up.

  695. You can't bring forth traditions. Amn, she's not gonna understand traditions and men.

  696. She's gonna be a very I feel, an intelligent soul. It's gonna

  697. be viable truth and nothing at all. Will you faithfully teach her in the

  698. doctrines of the Christian faith and teach her to read the Word of God,

  699. to pray, to lead a holy life. Will you to take her faithfully

  700. to the house to worship, to attend services when the doors are open to

  701. do so. Will you do everything in your power to bring her to the

  702. knowledge of Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior. I wonder if we

  703. could get some to help me pray. Preachers of the gospel somebody, those

  704. of you that have the Holy ghosts, would you pray with me even now

  705. ask the Lord to help us those of you that don't. Would you pray

  706. even now that the Lord will help us as a church not to fill these

  707. children, not to fall Daddy of Mommy and Natalie and Mariah. Would y'all

  708. pray for me as a pastor to always preach the truth to them to be
