The King Of Glory - Bro Glen Vollrath - Homecoming 6-4-2023

This morning. Appreciate the wonderful stree of the Lord. I'm glad to be

of this homecoming service for the road, Cap said to us, his pointing,

we're going to be it's excited as the bunch that you were on the

last day street. I'd decided we want until they got if he got the

singing man, I thank you pretty excited. Thank God for his presence,

and I'm glad to be here. Really appreciate Brother Jeremy. As he said,

we're texting buddies and Brother Jeremy, really appreciate you giving us the invitation

to be here. And it's already been some honor given to your pastor this

morning, but I believe you are the honor you pastor man. And happy

birthday, you know it's his birthday that we got here this morning. That

really appreciate the opportunity to be here, and you good folks. I'd like

to commend you you for your youth group A man and young men looked like

young men. I long, lady, book like young maiden. That means

a lot of this generation. I believe men still look like you. I

believe still are to act like you. I believe young ladies still are to

act like a lady. You know, we've got I already appreciated that.

I noticed it, and you're to be commended. You've got people to be

commended, and we were just try to be here. Most of you.

I don't know my name, as Brother Howell said, I met some of

you at the wedding, and I went straight over this morning, spoke to

Brother Jeremiah and Sister Lee. I said, there's a familiar face. But

I've been knowing Sister Lehah and Sister Megan's and say, we're little beauty girls,

and y'all have haken them from us. But I'm glad they have found

some good young men and to be at a home, a Christian home.

Amen, thank God. I like that song you young people are singing today.

Amen, that's the way I remember it. I still love the old

ballet s in my heart. This generation comes along says that's not important anymore.

They come too late, Amen, come too late to tell me.

Amen, I believe the Lord's gonna have a reda thank God, or I

really appreciate it. This is the Lord's house, and this is a homecoming

service. It's a time of celebration. Yeah, already been mentioned sixteen years.

Thank God for that. And I'm really glad to have the ring.

It's just to debby with us, just great friends and part of our church,

and we're thankful for the other and for the work and maybe they do

for the people of God and man, I didn't share them, but I

appreciate my wife. The Lord gave me a wonderful winds thirty almost thirty seven

years ago, and I've just been a wonderful The Lord that gave us a

good home, good Christian wife meant a lot to me. And you're young,

you're kind of trying to pick those out, trying to find the right

one. The Lord's the one who knows the future. And I know trying

to help you pick that out. And I know the Lord gave me mine.

I appreciate her, and I appreciate the life she lives. I lived

with her hood. She is a man, and I appreciate her. This

morning, it's just really she's going to sing for you. You pray for

her. She's sing us it's my turn first time as sistmer So the fund

saying around time and chops to ratings the name of the Lord. He's gone

already said, it's wonderful being the house of the Lord this morning. And

you know this is a meeting place, and we have come today not just

to meet each other, but to meet with God. Lift up the name

of the Lord, he said, if I be lifted up, I'll go

all me. You know myself. You want to lift up the Lord this

morning, that the Lord had his way in this service. You have your

Bible. This morning will be reading in the book of Psalms and the twenty

fourth chapter. Some of you Bible readers may be beared for me with his

Psalm twenty fourth Psalm. If you would, let's please stand for the reading

of God's word. Psalms, Chapter twenty four, in verse one said the

earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof the world. And they that dwell

their end, For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it

upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the heel of the Lord, or

who shall stand in his holy place. He that hath clean hands and a

pure heart, who had not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn

deceitfully, he shall receive the blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God

of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that

they seek Thy face, Old Jacob see law. Lift up your heads,

o ye gates and be ye lift up ye ever last indoors, and the

King of Glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory, the

Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle? Lift up your heads,

all ye gates, even lift them up, ye ever last indoors,

And the King of Glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?

The Lord of whose he is the King of glory? See you may

be seeing. I'd like to title the message today the King of Glory?

Who is this King of Glory? The Psalmist writing here gifts a very lofty

title to somebody, The King of Lord. Quite a title, would you

say, the King of glory. Lots of people throughout history would have liked

to had that title, would have liked to have qualified to be called the

King of glory. Some have been called the King of rock and roll.

Elvis Presley gained that title. Some have been called the King of pop music.

Michael Jackson claimed that title. There have been some that have been called

the King of particular countries or nations, or are different groups. Maybe they

were the king or the person in charge. And we know that right now.

We've just gotten the new king in England. But this is a different

king. I'm talking about this right And the scripture here said who is this

King of Lord? Well, the apostle John told us a little bit about

him. If you'd like to turn and read along with me to John Chapter

one said, in the beginning was the Word, and the word was with

God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with

God, and all things were made by him, and without him was not

anything made. That lost. Made in him was life. And the light

was the light of men. And the light shined in darkness, and the

darkness comprehended it not dropped down the first number fourteen, It tells us.

It clarifies, should anybody wonder who the word was? Should anybody say,

well, who was this that was with God? Who was this? That

was him? To begin? Who lost this? That created all things?

Who was this? And everything that was made was made by Hell? Who

lost this? Well? The Bible clarifies that a little bit passed first numberboard

each and in the word was faint flesh and dwelt among us. Sounds like

the word become flesh and it dwelt among us. He lived among us.

Just what that means. He was in our niche, And when they held

him, they saw him, they looked to post him. Then he just

hear about him as you and I have. Then he just read about him

this speeding have. But there was a generation that looked upon here, John

chid We ever hell him. We saw him with our whole eyes, the

only begotten of the Father, full of grace and true. Who is this

keeping the glory we're talking about this morning? John City was the word,

John Chitny was made flesh. John City closed among us, John Chick.

We behold him, We beheld him, We saw him. We saw him

work the miracles. We saw him when he raised the dead. We saw

him when he cleaned so that he heard his voice when he called like nobody

ever caught before him him. We saw him as he compounded the war and

revealed himself under the baes hallelujah. We saw healing. We know who he

is. We seen him as he done great miracles among us, Hey man,

as he healed the lane, as he opened the blinded eyes and did

great things among God's people. He brought us the pure plan of salvation.

His work was here on earth among us. We saw what he'd done.

We experienced the wonderful works of God. As he stood there one day and

took just a little boy's lunch, and he began to break that bread and

those fish, and he blessed it, looked up to God and began to

bless it, and passed it out and multiplied it and feed the power like

this. Dfent five thousand men, besides o women and the children. We

beheld him. We saw him that night when you come working at the water.

We saw him when it come there and stood on the ball that shi

hip. What night he said? He still those disciples who would saw many

great miracles and horriful he said, even the wind and the seas obethes me.

How do you imagine that a hall of nature is subject to him,

All of creation is subject to him. Hadde Whuiah over to God. I'm

hende eve, this is the one I'm preaching about this morning. Who is

this King of glory? Hade? Who ya he come to the earth?

He worked amongst us, and we saw him. We beheld him but I

don't tell you something. He worked his life here, thirty three and a

half years. He worked here, you know. Of course, his ministry

was that life. But he lives here. He was born and in the

city of David Amen in Bethlehem with Judy him a born of a virgin,

and he was raised in that little hole, just an humble setting raged among

his people and U then he come to this certain age, and his ministry

began, and he began to do great works and great miracles. And he

began to preach and to teach you, and he going on the people.

And if I was saying to come this time, he told his disciples of

this time. He said, they're gonna betray me. You're gonna dray He

said, you know, they're gonna take my life. He was said,

oh little Lord, I'll die with you. And he had you. Of

course, Jesus knew what was going to happen. He told him it was

to be that way, and it was just the way it was, Amen,

And he died holding old of it, crossed for the sins of home.

He may not just for a few, not just for his one,

his people, not just the ones he minister to hear why he was here,

but to all generations get down to this very day, right here.

I'm telling you, friend, if you're not here, if you're here and

they're not saved, that Jesus died for your sins. He died that you

might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly, keep paying

me all my price for sin shed his blood. He lived that life,

hung on a cross, looked up to heaven, and said, in his

finish, if I was said, he gave up the ghost range you.

He done his work. They buried him, put him in a tune,

roll a stone up over that to the entrant to that too. On the

third day, as an old black church back hold, somebody come by and

they had it there on their little barque out front. Him said, and

he got up. Please God, okay, there's something Jesus got about of

that ground. He was resurrected back showed himself forty days with many infallible groups.

and Thomas wasn't there. He means showed himself to the ten, and they

saw him, and he realized it was Jesus. They didn't hardly, hardly

know what to say. And they went back with Jawson and they told Thomas

said, Thomas said, we saw the Lord Thomas here. Hold many wondering

what Thomas wasn't here again with amen? Why why wouldn't he with him?

A mead, Amen, I got some ideas on that ain't gonna get covered

up on that. I gonna tell you something. Thomas wouldn't with them,

But they went to him and he told him, can Thomas hip the Lord's

alive? He said, I don't believe it. You ever told somebody something

it's really true? It's true. It's pretty unbelievable. They look at you

right there night. Boss said, I don't believe it. That's what Thomas

did. He said, I don't get it. Somebody comes saying, I

call it death fail, I asked yesterday, and I de creek. You

ain't that little creek right there? Boy? Yes, you about the creek.

I don't believe him, you know, I said, I don't believe

it. He said, I will not believe it unless I put my finger

right down in his hand where the nails was at trust by handing his side

where they shove that sword into it side. He said, I don't believe

it. A week later they were assembled again. Jesus did knock on the

door. They didn't hear the hinge is squeak. He just appeared. And

he didn't say, Hey Peter, Hey John. He said, Thomas,

put your finger here in my hand. Thrush your hand in my side right

here, he said, my lord. And forty days of infallible bruise.

And he went out there on the amount of allys with him, and he

gave them some final words, some instruction to preach share this gospel to every

creature. And he that believed that his hand tashed himself, he that gleeted,

put your down. And he talked to him a little bit there,

and the Bible said he began to ascend up into the heavens. His work

on the earth was done. Who is this king? There was two men

standing there beside of them white apparel. They said, you been a galilee?

Why stand you gaze and up into the heavens for this same Jesus that

his win way today shall come again in like manner. Church. He still

coming back, he said, I said, Jesus is still coming back.

Just anyone I know. There are starfords to say, oh, we've heard

that for generations. We've heard that. We've heard that, we've heard that.

Don't hear you something? Jesus is coming back, Yes, exactly the

way he said he did here the day of that ascension. It was,

we only get the recording of what happened here on earth. We have the

account of what happened here on earth. But I want to just listen.

I'm not too much of one of them preachers do a lot of imagine it.

But David helped me a little bit here in Charms twenty four. He

meant, David kind of gave me a little bit of the insight here when

he said, who is this kid? Blow? And uh, can you

just imagine a little bit with me, Jesus is ascending up into the heavens

and to the disciples, and said, looked cold, just like we'd see

in my mind. I'm just like I see a helil balloon. Just get

high. I can't imagine that. Just do it there. And they said,

one of them said, I don't, I don't see it. The

one Hunt said, oh yeah, carry just looks the whold most fin side.

Who you Until finally, brother Ray, every one of them probably said,

I don't see him. He's gone. He's gone back to the heavens.

The heaven had been missing him for thirty three years. Glory up,

the one that said in the glory world beside the Father hold his throne,

the one that was there in the beginning when God, the Father, God

the Son or the Word, and God the Holy Ghost, she hadn't let

us may hand and her whole image. He had been there and been through

all that and all he Donne had done, and all that was done in

creation, and all that it happened. And since then till Jesus said,

the Father told him, since time, son, for yougo. He went

to the earth and was born a baby, put on the robe of flesh,

and lived his life. Now thirty three half years later he suscended out

of their sight, and he's coming into heads heaven looks. So you talk

about the homecoming, brother, They had a homecoming in heaven through heaven,

yes, sir, and old Jesus is coming in do there. I'm just

kind of do a little imagining here, and we did. But I believe

it was like that. I believe the King of Glory, the one who

had come home for the battle, he had won the victure. He had

call is cocking the cry hallelujah. He was victorious. Let me read a

little bit. Do you hear about what he said about himself? Turned with

me, if you will to the Book of Revelation, chapter number one,

we'll find what Jesus said a little bit about himself. He said, I

am he that liveth and was dead. And behold, I am alive forevermore,

aid Mien, and have the kids of hell hand on death. Hallelujah,

He's victorious. Glory to God. As for a little more what he

said as he wrote to the churches. He wrote letters to these seven churches

of Asia, and each one of them he identified himself. And when he

wrote to the church, in emphasis, he said that he was here that

holded the seven stars in his right hand, were walking in the midst how

to seven golden chandele sticks. That was the seven churches. I'll tell you

Jesus still walks among his churches. How do I know your Jesus still walks

among his people. Here's a lord, there's a walk in, then he's

pillow. He said, I'm walking among the seven. I'm the one that

walks among them. Hallelujah. Look what he said to the to the church

of Smyrna, he said, these things, said who the first and the

last, which was dead? And it's a lie, I'm telling you,

Jesus one to him to know who he was the one that comes forth out

that to him, he was the one that died on the cross. But

today's and I'm a live and alive forever horn To the church at Pergamas said

he said these things, said he that hath the sharp sword with two edges.

To the church at thought Tyrah, he said, these things, said

the son of God, who hath his eyes like into a flame of fire,

and his feet are like fine grass. To the church as Sardess,

he said these things, saith he that has seven spirits of God had the

seven stars. To the church at Philadelphia, he said, these things,

saith he that is holy through glory to God. Don't you know something?

God is a holy God. The prophet Isaiah got a grimps. He said,

he's high, and he's lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

You know what Isaiah said when he saw a holy God? He said,

what it is me? For I am a man of unclean limps I

dwell among the people of unclean limps. I'm a friend. I'm telling you

this seeming of the Lordy. I'm preaching to you about this morning. He's

a holy king. How tonyah, he never done wrong. Seven in him,

him his life, and no darkness. He is without seeing. And

where the God. This is that kingdom glory he man, he said,

I him, he that is holy, he that is true, rage God.

And he that hath the king of the Key of David, He that

openeth, and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth to

the Church of Laodyssy. He said these things. Saith the amen, Oh,

Glory to God. Brother. However, he's gonna have the final say,

and he's God. When we get into the service today, you of

this service, it's probably likely somebody's gonna say and Amen, Jesus has the

final Amen. But he's talking. He see Amen, He's at the final

side. Glory to God. Jesus. I'm talking about this King of Glory.

He's the one that says Amen. The faithful have the true witness the

beginning of the creation of God is King of glory. Okay, Heaven's looking

home. Heaven's calling out, there's a message going out. Let me tell

you, I know a little reading on this at one time, and you

know it was the writer here kle was doing a little imagining, and I

would agree with him. The king says he went out to battle, and

they won the battle, and they come back in with the truths. It's

victorious, his victory. The city might have been walled, the age might

have been shot. Amen. Now I've seen some pictures. Read a little

bit about it. Some of those gates securing those gates didn't have this metal

last slid down in tracks and they let that thing down. And behind that

he said, yes, that's how you got him. Yeah, I forgot

what this trough in any way, somebody know what that's wrong? It has

a name. You let that old iron part in that game. You know,

it's game for the king and his host. We're coming home. We

wanted battle. And you talk about in the celebration, everybody's shout in the

dam. You talk about a shout in the count. We had a terrible

World War back in the early forties, and so you we got any World

War Two veterans reaction. Nobody. I think it was old for that,

right, he's got Amen, we got a military of enterg here. You

might saved. I'm in the Lord's army. God, I told him,

walmart't he said, you get military this gain. I said, I'm in

the Lord's army. She said, I won't give it to you. He

man, I'm telling you, brother, I can't even imagine the victory when

the Lord was fine the word. Oh. Yeah. I've known some War

two veterans. My father in law was a World War two veteran, brother

Irving Stone, who was my pastor at one time, very influential in my

life. Great man of God. He was there when they bombed Okinawa.

He said, it looked like the whole world was on fire. He said,

I stared. That's Webb said, Niel it to death. He said,

I was shaken. I thought I won't see hold And somehow on the

other he said he was lost in Oh. He said, I promise to

the Lord. Lord, he let me get back home. I'll serve you.

A man then twenty five years old, and after the war was over,

he come home and he didn't do it right. I meet it,

he said, But he said, I got saved. Ray's he man had

a wonderful testimony. He said, I said drunk, he couldn't quldn't break

anything. I couldn't do it. He said, he didn't do it,

But he said, Lord saved me. He said he was there. He

said, looked like the whole world's on fire. Dead bought he's everywhere,

He said, I was on the ship. They were floating in the water.

Bombs come in. One of those suicide plane checked the ship. He

was off, but the ship didn't do that him, but explosion lights.

But one day he said, he said, no war, I don't believe

we understand what the battle Jesus had, the Bible said, he prayed he

gets simmity, until his blood sweat became as great founts of blood. Agonized,

he said, Father, if there be any other way, if it's

another route, this can be feixed. If it's another way, men command

to be saved. Would you let this cut past me? He said,

But nevertheless, Father, he need it's no other way. See, Jesus

was man and God in the flesh. So the man sighed, Jesus fault

he man, and said, I so render it to your father. He

said, nevertheless, not my will withoutmy done. He agonized. He went

to the cross when he knew what it meant. He went to the cross

when he understood what it was. I'm talling you rugg here, Mama,

and I got saved. I got in this good way, thought I scared

of dying lass. I didn't know what it would mean. I didn't know

what I would face. I didn't know all the vowels I would endure.

I didn't know the valleys i'd have to cross. I know this stuff.

Had I seen all of that before I got saved, who knows how might

have said I can't do this, it's too much. If the lordest opened

it up and said, here's what you're gonna face as a Christian, a

lot of people would say, I don't sign hope for this. That's why

those recruiting offers search for the military, Mary don't tell you everything. They

friend you won't sign up. They don't reveal it all because their friend you

won't sign up. I hope that I wouldn't. But the Lord knows that

stuff, and he didn't let me see it all. Getting really all,

I'll tell you what. Forty three years into this boo, I'm sitting as

I got it. Oh yeah, I'm glad. He got in this good

way. I wouldn't take nothing from my journey now. And I don't know

what I'll face tomorrow, but I can't want to do no. I know

he will be with me, He will go with me. But Jesus,

he knew every suffering he would have to endure. He knew the cruel marking.

He knew the pain in that acne associated you were being crowned with a

crown of forms, associated with the beatings and the ashings, and the whippings

that nearly took his life, associated with the loud that goes along the band,

the sin of the whole world, associated with all that came with a

cruel death of the cross. And yet he said, father, not in

my wheel, but highly done. Brother. When he began to us end

in the heaven, it was victory day. He had finished his race,

he had won the battle. He had become victorious over death held in the

grave. And I can only imagine it's the doors of heaven and the gates

of heaven. This is just kind of my imagination. But David wrote about

it, and he said, about this king of glory, I'll punching to

you about this morning. He said to them. He said, Oh,

is this king of glory? He said, it's the heart strung and mighty,

the Lord mighty in battle, he's the one that indeed the truel tree.

He's the one that one against the devil. He's the one that comes

victorious over death and the final enemy. He comes victorious over held, he

comes victorious over the grave. He's the one that won the battle. He's

the one that paid the price. He's the one that said his blood.

Who is this King of Lord? Then he said, gift up your heads

on the gates. Get the gate up, boys, get it up.

Here comes the King of Lord. Get the gate, mister King of blood.

The donor gags even if even lift them up. He ever lasted him

the horse, I can just imagine his heaven's gates too, and said,

in the kingdom shall come here. I'll tell you the greatest home coming ever

up to now. They're gonna be one better over your God. You're gonna

get better. Amen. But it was the greatest home coming when Jesus came

back and took his rightful position at the right hand of the Father. Intercent

for you and I amen. Has the apostle said, he is now at

the right hand of the Father. Hord to God. I'm telling you,

he said it. Lift up the gates, open it up for the Kingdom

of Glory. Shout, come in. They asked a second time, who

is this King of Glory? The Lord? I'll sometimes we read over stuff

and don't think about who lo the Lord of Host? What host? That

great host? When the redeemed the heather? Indeed, hoh lory, who

is this Kingdom of Glory? He's the Lord of Host? Hello, Oh

bloody, John said, I saw a number it don't mann, Oh,

praise God. I'm telling you the Lord of Host, he's the King of

Glory. That's who's coming home, the kingdo of Glory. And oh,

what a shout is going to be when when all the saints come marching in.

Brother, you talk about a celebration, We didn't have it. The

heaven I'll be had a celebration, and then I believe all heaven rejoice,

but come home. I can imagine it's pretty excited. When Michael come back

yeah and said, uh, Father, I have done what you asked me

to do. I've delivered to me, said she. I'd say, that's

pretty excited. When Gabriel went down there and told Mary, said, you

do bear some And he got back to heaven and Heaven's rejoice him. Gabriel,

did you do it? Did you tell her? Gab is he he

done? I got the job done? And you know what, she heavenly

accepted the Dad already hot. But cause you imagine the joy of all of

heaven when the King right hon't we don't get this. The Kenyan brother has

come on. She truth come looking in the King of Pory has coming in.

I'm heading the raging he hain't just the King of Glory and she is

the Lord of brother here. I know who you are, But what's your

name? Brother Jessy. I want you to be in here now. Don't

you leave having a house you pamas ross An right? I want you being

that No, so many you'll know your names? Okay. So I want

to see when the King of Glory rains his bride back. See, he's

gonna go back again to the earth. He's gonna collect somebody. You know,

he's collected the church the right. I don't know how y'all believe,

but I'm sorry if if if it upsets your brother, you sent me down.

I don't know how y'all believe about that? But I believe in all

blood bought shames is in the ground. Some people say there's a select and

elect and I'm sorry, So okay, if you think that, I don't

believe, I believe you in blood bhol been washed in the blood. You

think the King of Glory is gonna leave one of his I don't think so.

That King of Glory. He takes us home and you talk about and

decision back up and we'll be going back up for the marriage seth. I

like to eat, y'all tell that brother sent me to a good restaurant last

night too. But can you imagine the barricks sub of the man Jesus is

gonna court himself and serve us. Imagine the King of holl splen. No,

he won't be walking around and sandals. Then his feet won't be dirty

again. That woman washed his feet one day. Remember then she cried so

that her tears was enough to bathe those dirty feet of Jesus won't be that

one with Then he'll be the King of Glory and all of his men.

I guess you've seen some pictures as I have. The coronation of the King

of England. I said, all right, look at that carriage, all

that gold chips, hundreds of years old, and in a terrible ride.

I saw that old crown on his head. You know all the splendor that

went with his tunnel man, you get back to the kingdom. He's one

of the victory. He's brought in the bride old. Oh you're talking about

my home brother, Jeremy. I prayed about this home coming service. I

had several thoughts I thought would maybe be appropriate. Last night, Lord changed

my man, It's come to me so clear, said the kingdom lorning who

is this king of gold? And I didn't think about it fitting a homecoming

service? Study was a study. Hedn't looking, I said, oh my,

while a home coming this is who is his? Kingdom? Lord?

Do you know him this morning? I say, do you know him?

Listen home He's a great I hold the first in the last, ye ever

lasting. He's the prince of peace, he said to any othing that he

said right in the morning. Star, he's sorry king this morning, and

he's the King of morning. As we celebrate this home coming service, I

like home coming as we have him in our church special time. Our church

is a little older congregation, and uh, we got like young people.

But I mean in the context we've been in that location for about seventy four

years. A lot of people that's been connected to the church through the years

said, I'll come in sometimes a home come, he said, old there.

That was sister so and so screen children right here. But I'll remember

said so and so. She died twenty years ago. As some of her

grand children they come for homecome. For years and years, a lot of

Sister Lee's family came, her grandmother's sister's Eddie Bill. Oh, she's a

precious lady man. She'd have to push through a whole lot of stuff sometimes

to give the church. She come in, bro. I'd watch her.

She'd come in that service. A lot of times she'd be a few minutes

late. She'd had that little pocketbooks. She walked kind of like that.

Right here. She go to her seat, and I think to myself,

I said, boy, if we know before she did were before she got

here. A lot of times on Easter Sunday, her family have a big

family union. Been a crowd up. They have been times thirty or forty

And to show up Easter Sunday morning our church to be with Grandma one coming.

I like home covers, but the whole water, whole coming. Brother,

he's dancing of beer. Woman. Oh, get on getting the dance

then, like you ain't never dance before, you're gonna get the shower,

Like hen't never shouted the once a while. Lord, let me run.

I'm getting her rudd. I got everyone before I was younger, brother,
