Glad to be in the House of the Lord. That's what you call it.
-
Didn't love so I'm going to church. Somebody asked you the question,
-
what is church? You know that place we call the House of God,
-
the place of worship, where we worship the Most High God. It's good
-
to see you in the House of the Lord this morning. I appreciate the
-
way the Holy Ghost has moved. He moved so mightily in our midst During
-
the congregational enquires, singing as well as well, a quartet was singing,
-
I'm so thankful for a moving of the Holy Ghost. Anytime he begins to
-
move, it is mysterious, and it is most needful. Is most needful.
-
We should never quench the spirit of God. We should never try to
-
damper that atmosphere. We want to encourage that type of atmosphere because it could
-
be indicative of the enemy has come in, lack of flood, because the
-
Spirit of God will raise or erect or lift up a standard against it.
-
Sometimes I just say, Lord, if the enemy is coming in like a
-
flood, if the tides of life are just swelling so big that they're going
-
to overtake somebody or overwhelm somebody, thank you for your Holy ghost giving them
-
what they need to overcome. Amen. I preached a message years ago overcoming
-
your obstacle. Also preached another message titled overcome or never Come, And I'm
-
telling you we could be overcomers. We could be overcomers. If you have
-
your Bibles with you this morning, turn with me to the Book of Judges.
-
May I direct your attention to the seventeenth chapter in the sixth verse.
-
Brother Nathaniel, First Corinthians, chapter number nine and verse number five. Brother
-
Jesse, First Timothy, Chapter number three and verse number one. It is
-
so good to see each and everyone in the House of the Lord this morning.
-
If you have been absent lately, we have missed you. We're glad
-
you're feeling better and able to be here. We missed Brother Gabriel and Sister
-
Candace and their son, brother Luther. If they are vacationing, they are
-
missing everyone. They send you their love. We look forward to their return.
-
Pray for traveling mercies that God will keep them while they're vacationing. How
-
many of you have heard of tragedies happening while people were off vacationing. Where
-
I'm from, one of the famous home builders of that area had a ski
-
accident. He was skiing snow skiing and had an accident, if I remember
-
correctly, and his life was forever change during a vacation. I'm not saying
-
that concerning brother Sister Gabriel, but I am saying that we should pray for
-
one another even while we or they are a vacation here right, we can
-
never take a vacation from the people of God, the House of God,
-
or from God himself. That's what I'm saying, So pray for them.
-
We missed them. Good to see sister Lavinia here this morning. There's so
-
many of you now it's easy for me to overlook who's here. But we're
-
glad you're all here, all right, Brother Nathaniel, First Corinthians, chapter
-
number nine, in verse number five, Will you read that, brother,
-
have we not power to lead about a wife? As well as other apostles
-
and as the brethren of the Lord and cephas? Amen? Did y'all catch
-
that the Man of God? The apostle Paul, writing to the church at
-
carl rented his first epistle to these Corinthian saints of God. He said,
-
have not our power to lead y'all need to remember that I'm preaching a message
-
the Holy Ghost titled looking for Leaders. The New Testament Church of today and
-
of yesteryear has always needed God fearing men and women and the leadership roles within
-
the family of God. Brother Jesse, First Timothy, chapter number three and
-
verse number one. This is a true saying. If a man desire the
-
office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. So if a man
-
desires as led by the spirit of God, if it's the Lord that worketh
-
in him, both to do his will and to do of his good pleasure.
-
If God has put it in his heart to preach the Gospel, praise
-
the lo. That's a good work. If God has put it in his
-
heart to be a bishop or a pastor of a church, praise the Lord.
-
If God has put it in his heart to be a leader, Praise
-
the Lord. Let's see how the Holy Ghost connects these dots. This morning
-
we're at his mercy judges chapter number seventeen and verse number six. May we
-
stand for the reading of our Golden text. The Bible says, in those
-
days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was
-
right in his own eyes. My mind. Let's read that together. In
-
those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which
-
was right in his own eyes. That sounds like a chaotic situation. Let's
-
pray, Heavenly Father, we love it. We praise you. We pray
-
asia for the opportunity to be in the house of the Lord, this place,
-
Lord, that we have designated to worship you here in this building,
-
in this place we have gathered together to lift up your name, Most High
-
God. Lord. I pray that you would anoint this thy servants. Set
-
of guard had my mouth and helped me to say the thieves, that you
-
would have me to say nothing more or less, and anoint the ears of
-
this thy people, that they might hear what the spirit saith under this church
-
through this preach word, not my words, but your word. God.
-
I pray, speak through your words, speak through your preacher. I pray
-
that you would help us all God, help us. Nor let these sayings
-
go down below the shoulders, let them penetrate our hearts, fine souls and
-
bodies. We pray, and may we receive this joyfully and not sorrowly.
-
In Jesus name. Amen, Raise the Lord. Look at your neighbor and
-
say, hey, neighbor, are you looking for a leader? I hope
-
you have found one. Brother, road Cap said, I have found one.
-
As I was saying that, praise the Lord. Let's do some preliminaries
-
and roll right into an introduction. Here. Our text is found in an
-
Old Testament book of the Holy Bible. As a student of this divine library
-
comprised of sixty six books, this Holy Bible has always fascinated me. This
-
past weekend, I encourage all of our preachers, and they are numerous in
-
number, to immerse themselves in the Word of God. I asked them and
-
challenged them to totally soak their spirits, hearts, mind, souls and bodies
-
with this blessed book. If you'll soak your heart, mind, soul and
-
body with the Word of God, you will find that you have what you
-
need in order to stand in these last of the last days. And also
-
I know of these young preachers, and these middle aged preachers, and even
-
the older preachers that I encourage to immerse themselves literally dip themselves into this Word
-
of God, delve into it. They will have what they need in order
-
to properly lead their family, lead the church, and to lead a nation,
-
because literally they are saturating their mind, and they are putting on the
-
mind of Christ. By immersing themselves and washing themselves with the water of the
-
Word, you won't have to worry about them being ungodly leaders. You won't
-
have to worry about them tripping up and leading you in the way that the
-
blind end up in. You know, the Bible said there would be those
-
that followed leaders that were blind, and as they blindly followed those blind leaders,
-
both the blind that we're doing the following and the leader that was blind,
-
both of them ended up in the ditch. Our text is taken from
-
the Book of Judges. I have always found great preaching material within the Book
-
of Judges. The content is so perfect for preaching those of you that have
-
preached at all. You know that whenever you turned to the Book of Judges,
-
immediately the names of great men of God as surface upon these pages.
-
The names of great men that are recognizable within all of Christian of men such
-
as Sampson and Guinea, and topics have been taken from the lives and the
-
actions of these two great men of God. Also, different types of messages
-
have been reached about these men taking action as leaders among the people of God.
-
I know when I first looked at this Book of Judges and considered preaching
-
from it. This morning, the Holy Ghost had led me into this book,
-
and I began to thumb through the pages, and I looked up in
-
the upper left hand corner, and I saw the title of this book.
-
The name of this book is Judges. Now, that title itself is very
-
intimidating, especially to a secular world that does not want anybody putting their nose
-
in their business, especially to somebody that's sitting next to the watercooler while you're
-
in the break room on the job, and they don't want to hear you
-
witness to them about Jesus or tell them what the Bible says. It seems
-
to me like the modern Christians anthem is don't judge, don't judge. But
-
we've got an entire book of the Bible here designated to about Mia and talks
-
about Mia. Who were judges? Now, Brother Thomas Sterret, if I
-
understood you correctly, last week you were telling me that you had received a
-
jury summons and that you were called to the Hendry County court House and were
-
to report early and not to be any later than on time. And brother
-
sterret you said, y'all went through the jury selection process, and after you
-
had been selected, you stood before the judge. If I was to ask
-
brother start right now, was he nervous or anxious about standing before that judge?
-
He would say, without a doubt, I was very nervous about standing
-
before such a prominent person as the judge. Why is this It's because of
-
the authority that that judge possesses. It's because of the power within the hand
-
of that judge that holds that gavel in his hand. I mean, just
-
with one sentence, that judge can send anybody in that courtroom to prison.
-
It does not have to be that one that has been charged with a crime.
-
It doesn't have to be that one that has committed a crime. It
-
can simply be somebody that is asserting their opinion out of order and getting loud
-
and disorderly in the courtroom, and that judge consentenced them to prison or sentenced
-
them to spending time in the county jail. So, whenever I read the
-
title of this book and God begin to draw my attention to that word judge,
-
I realized this book is speaking about men and women concerning Deborah. Men
-
though that were in leadership roles, and I thought, my hi, the
-
title of this book of the Bible is literally saying leadership leadership within Israel during
-
this period of time. And I know that Brother Starred he was probably a
-
little bit uneasy until they moved him from the jury selection booth and actually put
-
him on the jury panel. You see, at this point he would have
-
been on the judge's left hand, and the judge would have saw him as
-
his friend and knocked his foe. Brother Starred would have been very concerned if
-
he'd had been sitting shoulder his shoulder with a defense attorney and that prosecuting attorney
-
breathing down his neck and pointing his bony finger in the face of Brother Thomas
-
and saying you're guilty. But no, Brother Starek was not guilty of any
-
crime at that time. Praised the Lord. And I know that there are
-
people this morning already you put up your defensive hute it to your defensive system
-
because of this word to judge, I don't personally intend to judge anybody this
-
morning. Although the Bible said that the wise man would judge all things,
-
would wisely consider all things that are before him. Huh. And I feel
-
like this morning that there are some people in this building that are looking for
-
leadership in your life. I feel like there are people that have saw some
-
things that have disappointed them, and they say, well, I know that
-
if I had the right kind of leadership installed and in place in my life,
-
that I would not be so disappointed so often. Huh. Now,
-
I've known that there's some of you in this building that value leadership, while
-
there may be a few others that cannot stand up to have a leader.
-
I'm one of those people that likes to have a leader that knows what he's
-
doing. If we're doing something important, if somebody's leading me on a fishing
-
excursion, I like to know that they lead me into that path, whether
-
those fish are schooling, they're running. I like to know that somebody that's
-
leading me knows where we need to be in order to maximize our potential and
-
get whatever it is we're trying to get. Y'all hang with me this morning.
-
I'm trying to go somewhere. There was a time in the Israelite history,
-
in their national history. What they could say, we do not know
-
if we've got to what we need. Concerning the leadership you've heard of sister
-
we testify numerous times of about a twenty year period here in South Florida when
-
she would say, Oh, God, send us a pastor, Lord,
-
we need pastoral leadership, not only in the bill, but in this region.
-
We need somebody that will support our belief system concerning inward and outward purity,
-
concerning inward and outward and holdliness. You see, Sister Wood was not
-
in pursuit of just any person to come by and try to attempt to lead
-
her to heaven. She was looking for the right to kind of a leadership.
-
And here in this Book of Judges you see that there were times when
-
the Israelitza had leaders that led them the victory, while there were other times
-
they had no leader at all. Over time, each tribe found themselves praying
-
and asking God to deliver them from the hands of their oppressors. So why
-
were those people being oppressed? It would simply because every man was doing that
-
which was right in his old eyes and not doing as God would have them
-
to do. And so God would allow her oppressors to come in or get
-
this. God would allow wrong leadership to come into the place of a position
-
of leadership, and the people would call apart. They could fall apart to
-
by being a tact from the outside, and they could call it apart by
-
being a tact from the inside. That was the concern of the great Apostle,
-
the Apostle Paul. He said, when this leadership is gone and I
-
pair of praise. He said it more eloquently. He said, at the
-
time of mind departure, when there is no longer the Apostle Paul getting starred
-
in a room in dark, dark dingy prison cell, when my pianists no
-
longer and being put to department, when Luke is no longer helping me writing
-
letters. That will come a time when grievous wolfs will come in. I'm
-
talking about the grievous wolves that had furry coats that were blood stained and blood
-
some time with the sweet people of Cords blood. Oh yes, that's what
-
Apostle Paul said. They would not spare him the block. He was not
-
talking about the poker of Lusia Parker. He was talking about Corts people.
-
And we do not realize how much we should value cod the leadership in our
-
life because the Old Testament took believes so to speaker, thus a believe in
-
Jehovah. The Israelites found themselves or pressed him at a plintet wind they chose
-
to do it to their way. When they done it, that's how they
-
saw that it fit to be done. They were oppressed them at a plictet,
-
they got the wrong leader, and or come on the outsiders begin to
-
a put them and impress them. But the Bible said, when they begin
-
to pray, and they called that on the neighbor, Lord, the Lord
-
would raise up. I said, the Lord would raise up not only the
-
spirit of God to be a standard, but God would raise for man that
-
you're in Egypt and you're crying out, God, a raise up promoses.
-
If you're in the belt in they's eyels and you're crying out, got no
-
raise h Jeremy, I can't give you that. If you want to God
-
the leadership up in you're in life. If you want somebody, I stand
-
up bringing them somebody that will lead to somebody that will bring you cry out
-
point, I said, cry out point. That can't be that. God.
-
We'll give you. I get it that God. Then you give your
-
sands of what's going on in the Pentecostal and holding his churches today. Brother
-
Howell, I don't know you answer that question, because as soon as I
-
tempt to answer it, somebody's gonna prompt me accuse me of not respecting the
-
leadership within our movement. I do respect the leadership that is within our movement.
-
I've always respected the Reverend John Gabbard, the Reverend Manny Sutherland, the
-
Reverend Don Rich, and the Reverend Randy Webb. These guys have been a
-
tremendous blessing in my life. The Reverend Bill Houston was a great friend of
-
mine. In fact, he preached his next to his last sermon right here
-
at the Bethel hole in his church and preached along these lines, the anointing
-
is at Bethel. He was a great friend of mine. I want you
-
to know that even Noah, these men were great leaders within this movement.
-
There were great leaders because of their great personal relationship. And some of them
-
are still living praise the Lord, and they still maintain a great personal relationship
-
with the Lord. I feel like a real leader realizes that he needs a
-
God as much as the people need God. If that leader ever comes to
-
that place where he does not feel like he needs God. Truly, those
-
people that are following him are headed for a bad destination. You will remember
-
that Moses was a renowned a leader and he came out to the right time.
-
God always shows up at the right time. But for every leader there
-
must be multiple followers, becaus God Rosa. For Moses, that did not
-
ensure the difference for her that he brewed people that were living in the land
-
of Osan, they must have followed. And I know that God is our
-
leader, and there's a lot of people that declare him to be their leader.
-
But are they following? Are they in love with that leader? Jesus
-
said, if you of me, you will follow my directions. I'm paraphrasing
-
again. His ectual words were, you will keep my commandments. You knew
-
realize that Jesus was on the ultimate mission to get mankind from this planet Earth
-
to their eternal abone in that wonderful Sir Leicester City Heaven. And he gave
-
us fall that a road back. He gave us verbal and written instructions to
-
ensure that we had what we needed to get there. Oh. Yes,
-
if Boses ports in that direction, you got to walk in that direction.
-
It doesn't matter if the red sea, that the tide is here. It
-
doesn't matter that the red sea he is stand. Oh yes, come on,
-
now have it a people I've we seen come up to the blood of
-
cheese outside and they put their toes in that beautiful red sea, only the
-
tiant the gold. I cut in at the Egyptian MANETs, I'm asking you,
-
he leads. But when you followed, I said, I'm asking you.
-
Even there he leads. Hear you followed. So God raises up men,
-
then God also sets men down. I believe that, brother Jesse,
-
after the death of Joshua, there were men that had been shoulder to shoulder
-
with Joshua, men that had fought faithfully beside the side of Joshua and the
-
other great men of God Caleb. And in time these men became the elders
-
of this nation of Israel, and they assumed those leadership roles as the elders
-
of each tribe, and within this nation of Israel, they served a faithfully
-
in their post of duty, in their divine assignments. How many of you
-
feel like God is still assigning the roles of deacon. He's still assigned the
-
roles of owner. He's still a side of the roles of pastor. I
-
wonder why so many churches trade pastors so much? Is it because nobody's really
-
faster than praying about leadership? Could it be that somebody isn't looking for leadership?
-
Could it be that somebody don't walter that kind of leadership or come home
-
now? But these editors of Israel, they were looking for leaders and they
-
find a set we need, especially anointing men or women are couting devil's case
-
that would ride up and they became known as a judges. They come on
-
even the elders. So we're looking for leaders, and the people were looking
-
for elders. So the people were looking up for leaders, and the elders
-
were make up for leaders. Hey, y'all cannot hear this, mord.
-
And you ought to be under somebody that's got their ear bit towards God.
-
It was better. J Wallace, un believe called Friday to sit pastor.
-
The reason why I sit under you and your ministry, it's because you've got
-
an ear to into the Lord. You've got a mind after God, you've
-
got a part after God. That's good as long as my heart is after
-
God. Nother j follow. But if I ever turned away from color and
-
the good Shepherd, as you're under Shepherd and I just appoint you, you
-
still must follow Jesus. And not to be clear, I don't high plans
-
are disappointing anybody. I said. I mean about high plans or disappointing anybody
-
that I'm preaching to somebody this morning. You need to know it's okay,
-
huh to be looking for leadership. Well, all they do is talk about
-
outbreach. I haven't preaching about fourteen days, so I'm just about done.
-
Amen. That's the only bad thing about thinking extending vacation. Brother Nathaniel is
-
trying to get reconditioned. But the Lord is helping us and he does.
-
But I want you all to know that they'll talk about things and how they're
-
gonna do this, and sometimes even that pastor or that assistant pastor, or
-
that elder and that sony is good teacher, or that events coordinator will stand
-
in the pool and they will a lot of the people and talk about how
-
they're gonna do outreach, how they're gonna win the lost, how they're gonna
-
have VBS, how they're gonna have extended revivals. How they're gonna get out
-
turned oh man, and fulfill the great commission. There's a clarion call for
-
us to be soul winners. You do know that, right, And because
-
that very person a leadership, that person that is responsible, they do not
-
lead by example. Every outreach ministry that but the holdest church has has been
-
started by a pastor Howell and the first lady. We've started another one that
-
you won't barely know anything about. And we're waiting on the right time to
-
turn that over to somebody after they get to murden. Do you know why
-
they're not taking an action and only talking. It's because they really have been
-
burning and they don't want the responsibility of doing it. When they get up
-
Monday morning, there's don't glitter, there's no glamor, and there's no glory
-
to get down there with a homeless person and hearing this say, I'm a
-
back friend holding us a preacher. I'm so glad he showed up, showed
-
up. I'm killing myself today. Oh come home. Now, you know
-
what take whether they do have a pancake breakfast after church or Sunday night,
-
I have a talk on dinner after church up. Oh, we'st night,
-
and I'll take a wait a gat it. I thought, were you gonna
-
reach up for the lost t Wait a minute, I thought you was gonna
-
lead us into the nostrous field. Time I said, the field right,
-
the hardness, pray adas the leaders and walk her come into that field.
-
Lead me, preacher, look at the leadership. Lead me, preacher.
-
Don't lead me to the tithe being only don't lead me to the building fund
-
collection. Only lead me to be a servant practice, servant leadership. Minister.
-
Oh, oh my God, I feel the Holy Ghost right here.
-
And so these men that have been faithful with Joshua and the elders, they
-
be going to cry out for deliverance. And God gained them these great judges,
-
and then we know how it goes. They had good judges and then
-
they had bad judges. They had great victories and they had terrible downfalls.
-
I mean, I suspe at the design of the roller coaster was taken from
-
the role model of the nation of Israel during this period of time and history.
-
You have your ups and you have your downs, and then by the
-
Jesse's because of the disappointment of these judges within that type of judicial system.
-
They begin to cry out again for leadership, and they say, we have
-
looked upon the other nations and for a leader. They have something called a
-
king and improved over night. You've got something called a monarchy. Right.
-
A monarchy is that right where there's one man reigning supreme. And God took
-
this as an offense. When Samuel petitioned the lord. Samuel was the leader,
-
he was the judge. At this point he heard from God. God
-
gave Samuel he needed to you see it this time. Why would you be
-
asking for a king when you've got a leader like Samuel? And God told
-
Sanator Delta, be disappointed, buddy. How they did not reject you.
-
They had rejected me. And God took offense for this request of leadership,
-
because God do. If a man does not remember that he is the under
-
shepherd, under the over shepherd, if he does not remember he is a
-
servant, not a letter over God's heritage. If he does not remember that
-
it is God that keeps Israel, that it is God that leads Israel,
-
then that man, even if he's specially elected and chosen by God himself and
-
his name is Saul, if he does not keep God corkst not leadership.
-
Rolled will corrupt him because there is a possibilities when there is power, I
-
said me, and are corrupted he sometimes because of power. Being are corrupted
-
sometimes because of possessions. And can I tell you when they love power and
-
they love possessions, they love pre eminence. That I want you to know.
-
That's what the New Testament told us something in the Book of Revelation.
-
They will come to the place and I say, a rich I've increased with
-
kids, and I've got need or nothing. Listen back, cat, you
-
need a holy esprit. Listen who needs spiritual gods? Who the spiritual can
-
lead usselves? Well, I'll get the pastor to work for me. And
-
then wants to borrow to come servant to the lender. But the holy ghost
-
just spoke something to me. But it's different when the lender is under the
-
leader. You see, we see throughout the nation of Israel's history they were
-
looking for a leader. They were looking for a leader. The elders made
-
room for special men. You have to make room for those special people in
-
your lives. There's a sign on the bulletin board in the hallway and the
-
back of the church It says, if you do not allow him to speak
-
into your life, then he is not your pastor. He's just a preacher.
-
These men would speak into the lives of these people that were looking for
-
a leader and had accepted a leader. Sampson was one of those men whom
-
the Lord raised up to deliver them. Gideon is another one of these men
-
that the Lord raised up to deliver them. These leaders were simply tools in
-
the hands of God. Getteon maintained a proper understanding that the Lord is the
-
deliverer, that the Spirit of God is the deliverer. And God made sure
-
to prove that to GeTe It would he make Gette minimize the size of the
-
army that God would use as the tool of deliverers from God's people. There
-
was no way anybody could say, praise get It. There's no way whenever
-
we have a wonderful revival as somebody could say, praise Justin or praise Jesse,
-
or praise and Jeremy. There have been times that we've seen God allows
-
somebody to decrease h that He might increase. Uh. You better never seek
-
out of God's glory. It's God that giveth, that is God that taketh
-
away. It is God that sets up, and it is God and removes.
-
From Powell, it was mission and places I preach it a postoral message
-
right here, just farted. This's nothing to shout about it. But you
-
ought to thank God help for cod flearing leadership in your life. If you're
-
attended up in Acostal and our Holiness church and you've got a cod fearing man,
-
he say that, this pastor in that Loncal building, in that local
-
Sibney. You want to say thank you God for god fearing leadership if you've
-
got it, adding a Sunday school teacher, if you've got it, a
-
militant Sunday school superintendent. Anting outreach coordinator. Oh yes, somebody said one
-
time our outreach program. He's the altar shout on that time. Oh you
-
want to, but that's called an in reach opportunity and an inny reach program.
-
You first got okay up the great condition and reach out to then cod
-
well reach. This generation doesn't want to be corrected. They can hear you
-
say something as a fifty year old man with silverling it in your hair,
-
and know what God is doing for his people, and know and testify what
-
great things God is doing is proclaiming to be true and preach it that the
-
fruit comes up on the tree, and that that fruit is indicative of what
-
kind of tree is bearing that fruit. If you see an acorn, you
-
cannot deducted. That's an orange tree. If you see a persimmon, you
-
cannot deducted. That come off of a mulberry bush. And so these people
-
they're in den they're looking for position, they're looking for placement, they're looking
-
for power, and what they want to do is suppress real leadership. Sometimes
-
real leaders do refer to other leaders of yesteryear and they say, hey,
-
that guy was simply immortal, such as I. That is not to minimize
-
their talent or their ability, or their calling or their election. That is
-
not to displace their position. But there are people that will hear a preacher
-
say something like that, and they will twist it to and act as though
-
that preachers trying to tear down leadership. They'll act like that pastor and is
-
talking only to this flock. Because they were there and listening, they go
-
out and say that pastor tore down this prominent person. This pastor spoke adversely
-
concerning this person. Now listen, let's just make up a name, Mickey
-
Chotson, because the Bible talked about those being easily offended. All come on,
-
now, used to not be so easily offended. But if I say
-
that Mickey Johnson, which is a made up name. If I said Mickey
-
Johnson, may be allowing this to go on in his church, but I'm
-
not going to allow it to go on in my church. What is the
-
harm? It's somebody telling their own church how they feel like God is meeting
-
them as some people. There is no harm at all in it. But
-
I tell you what is harmful. It's some preacher that caused himself a preacher
-
or the evange was being president in that service and hearing the real leader challenges
-
people, or hearing the real leader chastising, or a customer holding this foodment
-
in the direction is coming, and then go out there and act like that
-
spiritual leader is trying to tear down leadership. No, that's not what's happening.
-
What it is, silly evans? Listen? What it is, silly
-
preacher? He is you trying to sow discord from the brother and the ones
-
you're talking about here and the person you're talking about here and talked about somebody
-
elswer they're hard by the spirits agree they're in the same book. Just because
-
you can say there's a disagreement there, there's some kind of gray area there.
-
To stop being there is h But what disappoints me it's with those same
-
tail bearers that twists the truth. Don't stand up for holding this, so
-
they don't support leadership. They don't live like other govern used to live up
-
there. They don't there for like gonna southernly live, he brother govern lives
-
now they don't ben like gonna let you crow lives. Now they're trying to
-
take the church up in another direction. Those are the troublers of Israel.
-
Look I said that other trouble isn't in Israel. And now stop the kind
-
of leadership come I'm looking upon in this holding us knew my tail, I
-
said, that's how to leadership. But how luck apart so young preaching that
-
can't even a teacher's wife how to be holding us inwardly and outwardly. They
-
can't even teach their own family how to pray and the altars and not tear
-
the church apart. Can't even be respected because they're so goofy. My problem
-
is not with those blessed men of yesteryear that preached at strength. Is spit
-
white that taught us right. I have never not supported spiritual leadership. I
-
am totally untolerant, intolerant of young men that are confused this younger generation and
-
secretly tearing down that leadership of yesteryear and deliver leading the church in a different
-
direction. And the thing about it is, little preacher, let me tell
-
you something. All of the above knows what you're doing. We see what
-
you're doing, and guess what. You're not welcome for leadership at Bethel.
-
We know pips squeek leadership when we see it. We know strong leadership when
-
we wish witnessing, and strong leadership will always admit it's not my doings,
-
it's God's doings. And in this Book of Judges we've said that you find
-
the example of Sampson, and you find the example of Gideon. And you
-
know what Gideon's declaration was concerning victory. He said, the sword of the
-
Lord, and may I paraphrase first, and the sword of Gideon last.
-
The sword of the Lord first, and the sword to get in secondly,
-
because deliverance comes from God. And if God is in that spiritual leadership,
-
people will not have to be coached and coursed out of sin. They will
-
not have to be pushed through their addictions. They will be led to that
-
fountain that is full and flowing with blood that flows from a manual's veins,
-
and they will find deliverance come down. After reading this Book of Judges,
-
it's clear to see that leadership must be present in the child of God's life.
-
Look at our text again, Judges seventeen and six. In those days
-
there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right
-
in his own eyes. Again, only a few chapters into this book,
-
the reader soon realizes the importance of godly leadership for any Christian family or nation.
-
While reading this book in the Bible, the readers noticed there were times
-
when the nation of Israel did not have God fearing men and leadership. Roles
-
sister, which says, She's lived through that, and that is no situation
-
conduce of spiritual maturity and growth. And because of this, the Lord allowed
-
people to be oppressed. Sister, we will tell you she was oppressed.
-
There's some of you in this building. You said you relocated. I don't
-
know where you came from. I probably didn't even attend the church that you
-
came from. It was probably spectacular, wonderful, probably had great leadership.
-
But for some reason you said you were oppressed. Could it have just been
-
the God wanted you here? But there's times, and we see this as
-
evident within the nation of Israel's history, you can't just have any kind of
-
leadership. And always when there's absence in leadership, people begin to do things
-
their own. When that preacher won't stand up for the truth, and you've
-
got all kind of holding this preacher saying I'm having an issue now in my
-
church because that can't be speaker simply wouldn't lead his people. He knows what's
-
tradition, he knows what's custom, he knows what the Word of God says.
-
He has the information that he needs to lead to God their people,
-
but for some reason, he just don't feel like leading by example. For
-
some reason, he just don't want to get into poopit and say anything about
-
some things. So for some reason he just kept bringing himself to do anything.
-
At that moment, to that man is no longer a leader. We
-
have to accept that his leadership responsibility has failed, and he is not wanting
-
to suffer persecution for taking a stand. He'll come on. The sheet deserve
-
a leader. The sheet des are better than that. You can't lead the
-
sheet to themselves. You gotta let the sheep they call the decisions. You've
-
gotta have a shepherd that make us some decisions. This is a little deeper
-
than some realize. Are going over some heads. But imagine how quickly,
-
brother Jeremiah, people begin to develop different views. Right here in our Golden
-
takes, every man is doing that which is right in his own eyes.
-
These people are literally cherry picking their own paths, cherry picking what they want
-
to do, how they want to live. They decided that some of the
-
things that some of the old preachers of yesteryear, back in the seventies and
-
the eighties and even the nineties, preacher, they decided that, you know
-
what, it doesn't matter anymore. I'm not gonna touch on that, not
-
going to harp on that. There's more to preach than holiness. And so
-
these churches get left to themselves and they cherry pick what they want to do,
-
and they pretty much get defiled inside. And also it shows up on
-
the outside, and they're just doing what's convenient for them, brother Nathaniel,
-
and they're twisted scripture. They live and however they want to live. They're
-
taking their family down the road however they want to go. And so it's
-
true that this nation fared better when they had a God fearing man and a
-
person that God has selected as judge in this will of responsibility. And it's
-
true that these ben had some minor defects and some imperfections. They did not
-
have the holy ghost that we had today, and they had not been blood
-
washed by the blood and the lamb. But still these people were following these
-
men despite their perfections, and they were anointed and appointed by God to lead
-
and God and direct God's people in God's way. It's not our way,
-
do they burger, king, We can't have it our way. We got
-
to have it God's way. That's why we're singing that song out all way.
-
Well, do you remember, Priable, We're all having to submit from
-
our own desires, our wheels, fleshly desired. How the taihway low?
-
How did humanity end up with this dreadful thing called the ademic nature? How
-
did humanity end up with this dreadful thing called the ademic nature or original sin?
-
How did we end up in a place where a two or three year
-
old child could lie about stealing a cookie out of the cookie joy? How
-
did we end up in this place that mothers would go to abortion clinics and
-
abort that life that is in their work. How did we end up in
-
this condition because Eve did not follow her leader? Or I feel I preach
-
it a little while. You'll let me preach just a little while. It's
-
Harry, just a little while with me. I want to tell you that
-
there are people in this building that naturally follow quality leadership, while there might
-
be a one or two that buck up against godly leadership. Now it is
-
that the will of God. You know that you're in my I feel like
-
if Adam had had still been walking when the Lord and the cool of the
-
day, and if he had have been separated from Adam, and they'd all
-
have been following their leaders and all made them that have the rule over them
-
because they watched for their soul. If Eve had have been in that place
-
that God had designated for her to be in right here, come on by
-
his side, she was taken from out of the side as the rib was
-
taken and replaced right with that woman that had been as sufficient. Where was
-
she act? I believe if you study that third chapter of the Book of
-
Genesis, you can tell that Adam listened to her account of what happened.
-
He didn't disagree with her when she talked about how Satan came had come on.
-
Now she began to reason with the devil. The devil, being as
-
cunning wild as he is, he said, has God told you you can't
-
eat are the trees of the garden? And you know what he said.
-
God didn't say we can't have something to eat. Hey, the devil was
-
using trickery and deceit to establish communication and continuity. And then he goes on
-
and says, hey, God said, we can't eat of that tree of
-
the knowledge of good and evil, and we can't touch it. Right,
-
there was a mistake. God did not say that, where's Adam out there?
-
In this you read one of them verses, it says Adam was with
-
her, But if you study that in context, he was with her after
-
she persuaded him to eat of that forbidden fruit. You have to be with
-
somebody in order to take it and eat it. But if you study it
-
all in context, you can see that Adam had removed himself from leadership.
-
He was not where he needed to be. He was not worth she needed
-
to become. On Now, I'm preaching to you, and you do have
-
to go to certain churches that preach the truth to the Bible. Said there
-
would come a time when they would not endure sound doctrine her. They're not
-
gonna stand by the side of her or a preacher. They're not gonna endure
-
her. Couldn't been that even got to the place she didn't want to submit
-
to leadership. Couldn't got to the place where Adam saying, I don't know
-
that I want to go her on this walk with God as soon as you
-
alien make her suffer from the learning conte and prosprential Leadershipper and Brook your church
-
found that you will find yourself and make a good choice, and say you'll
-
find yourself and away, I see it's right to But the end, it's
-
the post from destructure her. It seemed right there that even when you ate
-
that few but through it was plans. At times it was desirable. It
-
looked into the eyes and that's what our touch, said her. These people
-
would do that that that was right to in their old eyes. The preachers
-
say, I don't see it that way. I don't see it the way
-
the hold of this preachers preach in the seventies, in the eighties and the
-
nineties said oh, yes, I'm talking to our generation. I don't know
-
how they preach it in the twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, sixties.
-
But this generation not even want what we preached in the eighties, And
-
they don't even want when we preached five years ago. God forbid that that
-
wouldn't be promoted in the spiritual leadership. Why why their issue is not that
-
they're challenging preachers they respected. Their issue is they'll say, if that preacher
-
I highly respected, don't do it right. Like Paul said, you follow
-
me as long as I follow Christ. That's the point that's being made.
-
But your issue is, I don't want that kind of spiritual leadership in this
-
movement and dependecast to the churchless or affiliated with me, because I don't want
-
anybody challenging me about some of the things that I'm secretly trying to change,
-
and you're changing them, and some of them can't meet speakers and preachers of
-
yesteryear sitting out there in the pews, and they're not getting preached anymore,
-
and they're saying things behind closed doors and after bury at the table and Denny's,
-
and I hoped to their peers and saying, you're dropping the ball,
-
boy, you're dropping the balls that don't act like you're supporting them, and
-
don't act like mother Howe or brother. Road camp is against those wonderful men
-
of God that preached old time, true blue, pure vanilla, great holiness.
-
We hide their respect, those men of God, some of whom have
-
preached for me all my God, I feel the hole that goes. But
-
what's you're wanting to do is be left to yourself. Come on now,
-
to be left to yourself. You know what the Bible said in Problems,
-
chapter number twenty nine and verse number fifteen. The first part of that talked
-
about a child being chasten, and then the second part of that verse,
-
the latter part said, but a child that has left to himself and bring
-
it to his mother to shame. Oh, come on now, act this
-
generation right here we see is another one of them generations that prefers and people
-
keep to themselves. They don't want anybody attempting to assist them in the attorney
-
called life. They don't want anybody attempted to point then they point to somebody
-
in their own direction. They don't want anybody attempted to say, hey,
-
wait any minute, work getting of course. They don't want anybody getting a
-
hold of other we or the chipper and trying to steer us back on course.
-
They want to be left to theirself. They don't want anybody to preacher
-
or message of challenges them. They don't want to be reminded of how we
-
lived twenty years ago. They don't want anybody bringing it up. I've got
-
a problem with that. I've got a problem with our lack of leadership.
-
I've got a problem with somebody not assuming the role of leadership and taking responsibility.
-
They want the position, they want the prominence and the power, they
-
want the pre eminence, but they don't want the responsibility. Adam and Eve
-
left to themselves. Eve left to herself. Adam accepted Eve's accountant of her
-
conversation with the devil. The secular public school system of this generation, like
-
many before, is encouraging the children of this generation to go deeper into the
-
islands of isolation and disrespect. I heard Sister Wood for the past ten years
-
crying this church house and weep and say they're brainwashing my family members in the
-
secular school system. She said, those that I have fed in my own
-
table, those that when my back was sore and hurt from working in the
-
yard and I leaned over my kitchen counter and prepared viddles for them to eat,
-
they would not even speak to me during dinner. They would not even
-
attempt to help me clean up, and they wouldn't even attempt to say thank
-
you. That's this generation the teachers are teaching them. Lead me on.
-
Your parents are ignorant. Your parents are idiots. They don't even know how
-
to turn on a computer. Let me tell you something, silly child.
-
It was your parents, or your grandparents and your great grandparents generation. They
-
were the leaders of the war of World War two. They were the ones
-
that liberated people from the tyrants, such as at our pitmer. They were
-
the ones that took to the factories and worked their fingers to the ball in
-
order to clothe fighters. I feel the holy ghosts. But this generation,
-
they're slept and they're thinking tain't no way them old preachers of yesteryear knew what
-
they were talking about. Whipper snipper, You've got a pump in to preach
-
in, You've got a parsonage at a holiness church to live in because of
-
a fighter. As a soldier, you might lae to great grandma or grandma
-
might not be able to turn on a computer. But can you so address
-
from a pattern? Can you build a battleship with your old hands? Can
-
you build a rockets with your old hands? I'm telling you come home now.
-
There are leaders of yesteryear that led us to be the powerhouse up that
-
we are today. Come out when you're out today because of the empire,
-
household men and women of God to paint the pole that you walk on.
-
Come now, I'm telling you, I thank God, but God fearing men
-
and women not words, and our our leaders go so much more to preach
-
on you. See, this generation wants to be isolated and there will be
-
extreme consequences for those who choose to do it their way. Y'all. See
-
what I'm holding in my hand, that's the Bible. This is his way.
-
Notice the words in our text. Every man did that which was right
-
in his own eyes? How many people here work a job? Raise your
-
hand, anybody, Brother Danny, You work a job, don't you?
-
Who's your employer? Walmart? Brother Danny? What would happen if tomorrow Walmart
-
decided to terminate all supervisory positions, If they fired all the bosses and all
-
of them supervisors, what would happen? Would chaos erupt? Brother Starets?
-
You work at a cabinet maker's facility, right, and we'll make cabinets all
-
kinds of things. Did you imagine if management come in to borrow and said,
-
we're terminating all of our bosses, we're eliminating their positions. Every man's
-
gonna do it as they seem fifth they're gonna do what's right in their own
-
eyes, Brother Starets. Seeing it be mere hours before the door closed,
-
and that's where I'm headed, Brother Danny Evarts, you'd say pastor maybe three
-
hours. We'd last maybe three hours, maybe three hours, because you know
-
what, everybody's gonna start fusting and fighting and arguing because they're gonna want to
-
do it their way. You know, they all got into their way anyway.
-
They all got their opinions. Because you hear about how they disagree with
-
the boss's opinion. Every day right that, there's thirty employees in the same
-
building. Everybody disagrees with the boss. So there's already thirty opinions on how
-
it shouldn't be done. Immediately, there's gonna be conflict because there's not somebody
-
in that position of leadership. I'd say in less than three hours, it's
-
gonna unravel because everybody's gonna sudden they have a stomach gape. Everybody's gonna need
-
to take their baby boy to the dentists. Everybody's gonna sudden they need to
-
go visit the great grandma they saw in about ten years. I'll come on,
-
I pray you know what I'm saying, Brother Caleb didn't be nobody left,
-
come quit in time, there'd be nobody there and the next morning just
-
a handful of faithful people. Only a few have ever survived where there wasn't
-
any type of leadership. There's only a few self motivators in this world.
-
I'll come on now field the Holy ghosting here. There's some of Christian people.
-
It shouldn't be this way, but they show up on time simply because
-
their boss says show up on time. Or get fired. It ain't that
-
they're trying to be hard to do it heartily as before the law, to
-
try to be a good example of how Christian work practice good work ethic.
-
They're simply scared they're not going to have a paycheck and they're gonna be able
-
to go to Longhorn. If I listening to somebody right now, are you
-
talking to their you upset? Are you? Is that what I'm here?
-
And I'm hearing something in my spirit right now? I'm on cave with him
-
firing all the bosses, aren't you really? You won't have an employer,
-
won't are to be up for sale in about three months if they eliminate all
-
of the bosses. And that's what they're wanting us to do, sis to
-
have with holding us preachers. So you want to cancel the presidency. You
-
don't want us to have an election, you don't want us to pray about
-
it. You want us to cancel just anybody that rocks the just a little
-
bit. Oh come on, now, chaos is going to ensue. Oris.
-
How many shops we get stocked at Walmart? None? Because everybody's gonna
-
be arguing. Everybody needs to get up early Do we really need to fire
-
all the bosses? Do I really need to cancel the parents? Who really
-
need to cancel? The holiness preachers? Do we really need to cancel the
-
law in posted? Do I really need to fire the police officers? And
-
no? Ten thousand times? Dog Hotan needs leadershipper, Our family steed leadershipper.
-
How torches need leadershipper, How holiness people need leadership. Could y'all imagine
-
what would happen tomorrow in the city of LaBelle if we fired the share if
-
we fired the city councilman, if we fired all the law enforcement our officers,
-
and we all did what was right in our old eyes. Picture our
-
fellowship, Paul. If we had a big fellowship tonight and we all went
-
out there, Picture our fellowship, Paul. If all of the parents walked
-
out and left the kids twelve an other to themselves, Give us us to
-
Rachel at the church and let her show you that picture of her daughter's bedroom
-
when they just got to themselves for just a little while, just a little
-
while, just twenty minutes of supposed that time. And it looks just like
-
Brother Nathaniel, that Hurricane Renee or Hurricane Rebecca went to them you talk about
-
whereas Waldo, both of them little girls are asleep, and you can't even
-
find him. And I'm not exaggerating. There's so much stuff. It looks
-
like there was not a drawer that was left full. Every drawer was empty.
-
It looks like everything that was standing upright is cast down. Looks like
-
every toy has been pulled out of the toy box and scattered. I thought
-
whether the thing to how could such innocent, sweet, precious little grandchildren such
-
as these of mine be so unruly and disordering because they must be taught.
-
How can they hear without a preacher? How can they preach except they've been
-
sent? And that's where we get to this proverb sixteen twenty five. There
-
is a way that seems right to a man, but the end there over
-
the ways of destruction. And I want to close with this thought. As
-
brother Jesse comes to the piano, everything including our churches, families, and
-
nation, rises and falls on leadership. And this is where if I love
-
Trump, warned Jesus, I'd put a plug in here for Trump. But
-
I don't love Trump more than I love Jesus. But I sure did enjoy
-
having him as a leader. Of this nation. I thought he'd done a
-
fantastic and a great job. What about the president now? Is he a
-
leader? You know, Saints of God, moms and dad's preachers, pastors
-
listen to me. I'm not a twenty year old or thirty year old,
-
almost fifty years old, forty eight years old, silver and my hair.
-
I might speak it as a novice, i might speaking to hurt anybody,
-
but I'm gonna say it again. Everything, including our churches and nations,
-
rises and falls old leadership. You remove brother Nathaniel and Sister Rachel from Sister
-
Rebecca and Sister Renay's life, and you watch the chaos that ensues. Apostle
-
Paul said, as soon as I'm removed, there's going to be eternal consequences
-
simply because I'm not in leadership. They took Trump out of office, removed
-
him. Most people believe chaos has ensued. They're entitled to their opinion.
-
And you know, there's great honor in being selected as a role model for
-
God's people. However, Brother Jerrem's very dangerous when that role model or leader
-
wants all the honor, the praise, and the glory, and so we
-
turn all the honor of the praise and the glory vertical, and we turn
-
it up to him and say, Lord, thank you for giving us what
-
we need to lead us to heaven. And here's the burden behind this morning's
-
message for the road, Captain. It's very sickening and disheartening when we see
-
preachers, parents, people, individuals despise the responsibility associated with leadership. If
-
you're going to be a pastor, pastor, have a burden for those people
-
and tell them what the Bible says, because what's going on behind closed doors
-
in our restaurants shouldn't be going on. There's too many people and preachers saying
-
why isn't somebody saying something? Why isn't somebody doing something about it? Because
-
they're afraid of the persecution of the religious sort, they're afraid of being canceled.
-
Well, I will say this, you can't silence the voice of the
-
Holy Ghost. People are fickle. Ask Moses. One day they're complaining about
-
manna. They need quail. Then they're complaining about quaill. They need something
-
to drink. Then they got something to drink and it tastes like lemonade.
-
Bitter. People are fickle, and brothers Samuel. Even when people are fickle,
-
Moses knows they still need a leader. Let's stand this morning. Corporate
-
America understands this. The Church understands this, The Catholic Church understands this.
-
The Protestant churches of America in the world understands this. We need leadership.
-
And I want to tell each one in this building this morning, if you
-
ever get to that place where you think I don't need a pastor, I
-
don't need a preacher, I don't need a teacher, let me pick on
-
that song as long as I got a King Jesus. That second verse I
-
don't like. The first verse. I love. But there has been a
-
time and Sister Wooten's history when she would say I didn't have a pastor,
-
I didn't have a preacher. I couldn't rise up and preach. I couldn't
-
shape myself and start a church. And I said in an area where there
-
was really no hold is that's her testimony. Those aren't my words. But
-
this morning she's surrounded by sixty other people. I think it said there's sixty
-
one people here. She's got six sixty people. Now she's not alone anymore,
-
Brother Samuel. But what's comforting is there's not sixty one people trying to
-
go our own way. What's also is we have a common denominator. It's
-
the man Jesus, and it's his book. It's his book, and the
-
truth is sometimes his book is gonna judge us, and it's gonna challenge us.
-
And what I'm asking you to do this morning is they begin to see.
-
Would you close your eyes? And I want to ask you, can
-
you humble yourself unto the words of God, not Pastor Howell's words only.
-
I appreciate your respect, I appreciate your admiration. I appreciate your faithfulness.
-
But is there's something in your life? Is it called rebelion? Is it
-
called stubbornness? Is it called by will my ways? Is there's something hindering
-
you? This morning? I want you to come into this solitary prayer,
-
which is would you do that? I feel this shock. You need a
-
leader. You need this Bible to lead you. You need the words of
-
God to lead you. You need the Spirit of God to lead you.
-
It'll guide you into all truth. I've heard of people before, Brother Road
-
kept saying this. I'm gonna continue serving God by myself, and you know,
-
what after ten years, fifty years, twenty years, they lose out,
-
they lose their way, They lose their way. Personally, I had
-
to relocate to be in the will of God. Personally, I had to
-
leave that place that I had worked for for so long and start pastor to
-
church leadership. If it's so important, Is there anybody in this building this
-
morning that would come forward and yell at us off? To anybody? I
-
know I'm preaching to Bethel, it appears at every person in this building values
-
leadership and it cares that way each and every service, but brother World Camp,
-
I believe I'm talking to at least one this morning. I'm saying this,
-
Leave me, Lord, lead me, Lord, lead me, Lord
-
lead me. Is there anybody we got warning? Is there anybody else?
-
Help me to submit my will? Here's another help me, Lord, to
-
totally submit to you. Daddy's lead your family, Apostle Paul said about power
-
to leave. They could leave brothers and sisters, wives, sons and daughters
-
to have it. They could lead. Can you leave if you need help
-
this morning? It coming a leader over your family. Could you get an
-
altar with me and pray? Mommy is if you need help guiding your own
-
house, bringing them children up in the nurture and defoition of the Lord.
-
They're following their dear. Let's pray there's somebody in this building. The cry
-
of your soul is I'm looking for good. I'm looking for it. Yah,
-
May God bless you. He still raises up leaders, and you will
-
be lad if you're stopped. Make me army place love you all day,
-
star shine, don't on me. Let you love shine through me, and
-
then leave below a hollow anywhere you been up, open love. I want
-
to be with and the dame with all and y they start shine no home,
-
Let shine d leave the Lord our father. Anywhere you open love to
-
love joy games. I've never seen one. I won't the window contain the
-
all. Baby, Please start shining your own lit you love time we are.
