That's all we that's all that's all we could ever ask for is someone to
-
get under the load with us and get there. Get there with us,
-
work together, pull together. That's well, we're in this thing. We're
-
in this thing together. We're all trying to make it to Heaven. One
-
common goal, one end goal, one end result is what we're all looking
-
for. I begin to I begin to think that when brother Caleb was leading
-
that uh now he set me free two thirty five, I believe, or
-
three thirty three, three thirty three, one line in that song really stood
-
out to me. Like a prison like like a bird from prison mars and
-
flown. If you've flown out of some prison bars, you can burn.
-
If God's delivered you from from the change a hand you what's found. If
-
God's touched you and away and he opened the old cage up, he would
-
go ever seen U of heard get a cage open up and just stay in
-
up in the cage. That's that's not the will of God. When God
-
opens up a cage for you, takes flight and fly into the heavens.
-
Fly into this guy, fly into the high things of God. I appreciate
-
the spirit of the Lord. We filled this morning. Appreciate what brother Nathaniel
-
had to say. I was kin with him Saturday. I called him and
-
I said, I'm gonna pray and take over spirit on you. I'm just
-
gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pray that you get on here and just
-
run with it. But I really appreciate what he said. I believe it
-
will do with some good. Uh. We want to say quickly, I
-
appreciate this opportunity confidence in my pastor we missed them, praying for safe travels.
-
We're gonna read in two places this morning. My co text will read.
-
First, we'll read my primary text. Last, we're starting Second Samuel
-
the twenty first chapter. Then we'll read. Then we'll move over to Matthew
-
the thirteenth chapter, Second Samuel twenty one Matthew number thirteen. Now, if
-
you pay attention to these two texts, you'll quickly see the common denominator and
-
you get a little head start. Began reading in verse number eight, the
-
twenty first chapter of the Book of Second Samuel. But the king took the
-
two sons of Risk, but the daughter of Ayah, whom she bear up
-
to Saul arm and I am a philis chef, and the five sons of
-
Michael, the daughter of Saul, whom she bared up for Adril, the
-
sona bars LII, than the hold of fight, and he delivered them into
-
the hands of the give you nights, and they hanged them in the heel
-
before the Lord. And they fell all seven together, or put to death
-
in the days of harvest in the first days, in the beginning of barley
-
harvest, and Rizpa, the daughter of Aiah, took sackloft and spread it
-
for her upon the rock from the beginning of harvest, until would have dropped
-
upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to
-
rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the fields by night.
-
Flipping over to Matthew the thirteenth chapter, we began reading in verse one.
-
And the same day went Jesus out of the house and sat on the seaside,
-
and great multitoons were gathered together unto him, so that he went into
-
a ship and sat, and the whole multitude stood on the shore. And
-
he spake many things under them imparable, saying, behold, a sword went
-
forth to sow, And when he had sowed some seeds felled by the wayside,
-
and the fouls came devoured him up. That'll be all of our reading
-
this morning. And if the Lord will help me for just a few minutes
-
of your time, I want to speak this morning on beat back the birds.
-
Would you lift your hands all across the house and ask God to have
-
his perfect willing way in this service. Nord, we thank you for your
-
presence that we have felt already. Lord, we thank you for your spirit,
-
the annoying thing that has broken through this place like a mighty rushing limp.
-
God, I ask for a coal of heaving to come down and an
-
be a peach your word. God, I ask them by your spirit you
-
would anoint the seeds with my Now, God, give me things to see
-
that would help the people. God, we asking the name of Jesus.
-
Let me let them see you and knock me. God, let them see
-
your grace, your love, and your mercy. Hide me behind your shadow,
-
God, that nothing I say or do would help them. Lord,
-
in the name of Jesus, we pray in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.
-
Now Jesus is teaching a large group of people from a boat down by
-
the seashore, and he begins to tell him a parable of a sword and
-
a seed. And a little side note here is I believe that the words
-
of Jesus are just as relevant today as they were back then. So if
-
we all believes that this morning, if everyone believes that what Jesus said back
-
then is just as relevant today as it was back then, let's put ourselves
-
in that great multitude in our minds. Let's go there. When Jesus is
-
sitting in a boat. Picture it if you if you believe that what he
-
said is just as relevant today, picture yourself in the great multitude. As
-
the Mighty Teacher is teaching the boats just off the shore, the waves are
-
hitting the boat, rolling on the shore and rolling back. You can hear
-
the sounds of the wind blowing. And above the sound of the wind is
-
the voice of the Mighty Teacher, the teacher of teachers, the blessed son
-
of God. Now when you put yourself in there, where your toes in
-
the water, right there at the head is closed to the boat as you
-
could get, and where you're back here behind a tree, hanging out with
-
your pals, did it really matter to you that you could hear everything that
-
the Master was saying, did you really care that the Master, the teacher
-
of all teachers, was spilling everything he had from the throne room of God,
-
giving it to you handfuls on purpose? Or were you stating in the
-
pack trying to get away as far as you could so you could say I
-
was there. I want it. I want my feet to be with I
-
want to be just as Jesus is right here, and that's as far as
-
I can get. I want to be hanging on to the boat which deep
-
in the water, listening to the Master's voice. Many times I've heard this,
-
this pararable priest and talk about evangelism and witnessing, and I've heard it
-
said that the souler is not responded pile for where the seed lands. Just
-
sow the seed and let God do the rest. And when we are doing
-
public evangelism and one on one ministry and witnessing, it's true we can't control
-
where the seed lands and where it ends up, whether it's gonna be on
-
good ground, whether it's gonna be on stony ground, And we must let
-
the hero and God onlineing do the cultivating on the land of that ground so
-
that it can bring forth good fruit. Because the Bible said they must have
-
a willing heart, a willing mind. But I felt it much prayer and
-
study, this parable take a turn for me, and it went in an
-
another direction. And I've never heard this parable preach this way, or I've
-
never read it in a book or ownline. But all throughout the Bible,
-
there are many many instances. I wrote down two scriptures here, but all
-
throughout the Bible, there are many instances when our children, in our offspring,
-
are referred to as seed. Our parable was a soul or so and
-
seed in an angel, and well, just for reference, an angel was
-
speaking to Abraham and Genesis the twenty second chapter in the verse seventeen, and
-
he says that in blessing, I will bless thee and in multiplying, I
-
will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is
-
upon the seashore, and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
-
In the Book of Romans, chapter four, verse thirteen, Paul was speaking
-
about a promise given to Abraham. Paul says, for the promise that he
-
should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed
-
through the law. He didn't say that they were gonna that they were gonna
-
be aired to the world, the world because of the law, but through
-
the righteousness of faith. So in those two passages you see where Abraham's children
-
and there's more in the Bible. I just got those two where Abraham's children
-
are referred to as seed. And as I begin to think about that,
-
and I realized that Abraham's children and off spring we were considered seeds and mentioned
-
the seeds in the Bible, and parallel to seeds in the Bible, then
-
I begin to think mine must be as well. If Abraham's children are seed
-
that's Abraham would plant, my children must be seeds that I will plant,
-
and we must be careful where we plan them and what they getting rooted into.
-
So as we look at the parable with all of that in mind,
-
we suddenly realize that where our seed is up after we plan it is very
-
very important, and it really doesn't matter. This sword that Jesus is talking
-
about with was very slow for in his field print and he didn't take the
-
time to properly dig up the stones and to pull up the thorn bushes,
-
and he didn't take anything, and he just sowed the seed. He just
-
walking by haphazardly, carelessly sowing the seed. The Bible said some fell on
-
stony ground, some fell among thornton it choked him out, and some did
-
fall on good ground. If you finished reading the parable, what I want
-
I want to focus on this morning. This those seed that fell on the
-
wayside, and the Bible said that the birds came and to valor them.
-
God has trusted us to raise our children and those that we influence it.
-
If you say I don't have children, we are influencing others is just as
-
much as parents are, especially when it comes into the house of the Lord.
-
You might not have as much influence over their home life as you think,
-
but you, when you darken the tours of the Church of God,
-
you are influencing children and those that are younger than you, and maybe even
-
something that are older than you. But God has trusted us to solve these
-
precious seeds, and we must make sure to bring them to church and teach
-
them what the Bible says about sin and wickedness, because it's running rampant in
-
our world today. We must guard what is being planted in their minds and
-
do everything that we can to come back the evil that this world is trying
-
to see in their tender hearts of Fesian six and four says, and ye,
-
fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in
-
the nursing and the admonition of the Lord. It is out of god given
-
duty to bring them up with a love for God, a lover his word,
-
and a love for the truth. And it seems to me as I
-
looked across this world that there are so many parents in this day and age
-
that leaves their children to themselves and their caress concerning what is being planted in
-
their minds and what they are being introduced, what they are being introduced to.
-
The Bible says, tramp a child in the way that they should go,
-
and when they grow home, they should not depart from it. And
-
parents nowadays refuse to invest time and energy into making making sure that they get
-
grounded in Christianity, from righteousness and holiness and holy living in accordance with the
-
word of God which is written in the Bible. And it is very important
-
that we take responsibility for our children, and we take it seriously, and
-
we understand that God has placed in in our lives to raise them to the
-
believers of the Bible and livers of the lives. In this society, I
-
see parents trying to act like it's normal when people want to so see the
-
homosexuality and perversion into their braising, into their rights. And they're trying to
-
proport our tutor to young ages. And I see people and shipping and hot
-
the parents back in life of their doctoration. Do I have a calling for
-
the work, And said, I hope my son don't put out game my
-
brother did. But there's nothing I can do about it. I said,
-
I'll tell you, I'll call him. I said, there is something you
-
can know about it. But these people down days, these parents, they
-
say, there's nothing I can do about the perversion. There's nothing I can
-
do about the wickedness. But there is something you can really turn you get
-
so righteous. See, you can teach about fresh God, you can preach
-
about the gold Father, the mayor. There is state that you can do
-
in their society to see to it that your children don't dne perverted and struggling
-
for life. The soul, the school system and the neighborhood friends are trying
-
to pervert their innocent mind as such a good age. It's bewildering I have
-
I would have cool workers that I work parting closely with because of the type
-
of word the Armian. And they're constantly talking about the evil that's in the
-
school system and how they hate it and how they hope it don't get off
-
on their children. But they say there's nothing they can do. I try
-
to tell if you can do something, but they're trying to graft you the
-
thought processes of leniency of the wicked in this day into our young people and
-
in our children. And it's a relentless attack of Satan. Every time one
-
dayvil gets gone down, he says another one against these ten that are six
-
Saturday, ain't nine ten? It's a costed bombardment. The Bible says in
-
some seven and eleven. And God children's the righteous? And God has ain't
-
we with the wicked every day? And if God is angry with the wicked
-
every day? Who thinks that we should be leaning in tylerant to wickedness?
-
If it makes God angry? Should we tolerate it like they want us to?
-
Should we be leaning against it like they want us to? Like though
-
men in the world aren't today we read an our text that the sword didn't
-
pay much attention to where his sea landed. He could have gone the extra
-
mile. He could have made sure his seed baded into fert of earth,
-
in good ground, where it could flourish and grow. Verse four of our
-
texts says the birds of the air came and devoured his seat. I didn't
-
read anywhere in that parable where the sword was too concerned that the birds were
-
devouring his speed. He could have done something about it. I've heard a
-
stir scarecrows keep the birds out of the field. He could have did something.
-
He could have He could have tore up the thorns and pulled up the
-
rocks. But he wasn't concerned. He let the birds spoil his harvest.
-
Little foxes came in, little birds, Little foxes, if you heal,
-
came in and destroyed the vine. I was at work one morning a couple
-
of weeks ago. I was down in the market league. I was on
-
Durino Durango Lane. I believe it was since we wouldn't know where the village
-
is at right where the overpass is the equal housing, the low income housing,
-
and we were working on a looping project connecting some water vans, and
-
I'm sitting in a could of Sacket's. It's a cold of sack drive Durango
-
Lane, and I'm sitting in the driveway. And as I'm sitting there in
-
my work trucking the ay see, I look on the palate lines around me,
-
and I start to realize there's probably fifty to one hundred birds on the
-
palate lines surrounding my truck. And I begin to wonder, what what,
-
what's the attraction here? Well? I I continue to sit my truck and
-
a little and a little while later, this old elderly Haitian man gets up
-
off of his front portion. He has one of those cardos vans, and
-
he opens the back door to his cargo van and he pulls out a little
-
tumpleware container with some bird seed, and right there on the asphalt, he
-
begins to scatter seed to feed the birds. He carry cast his seeds in
-
the birds state he cast his season threw him out upon the asphalt pass this
-
too were a container. Back closes his cargo van. Noors goes and sits
-
on his front porch, and as soon as he sat down, here come
-
the birds. They swarmed off the powerlines to get that precious seed. They
-
didn't come. They've they've obviously been trained for this. This is obviously a
-
very frequent occurrence. All these birds knew that this man this morning gonna give
-
us seed. He's gonna feed us. But even though it was so frequent
-
that they were trained through that seed, they waited till the man walked away
-
and got back on the front porch to come in and get the seed.
-
And that's the way the devil will be when you saw that, when you're
-
so that seed, when you plant that good fruit, when you plant that
-
in your children and you let them be for a little bill you think they'll
-
be all right. You don't continue to water it, you don't continue to
-
pertilize and keep it up. As soon as you walk away, and as
-
soon as you give him a little bit of time, the devil will come
-
in and begin to devour the precious seed that you planted. In our context,
-
we read about a mama that stepped up and she refused to let the
-
birds and beast on her children and devour her precious seed. If you will.
-
When riskma's two sons were taken to a heel and hang to pay for
-
a broken valve on the notorious Team Sault. The Bible tells us that she
-
put a sign clothed her rock, and she beat back the birds by day
-
and the beast by night, and she refused to let him rest or her
-
children. And from all my studying and research, most people were saying that
-
that was a baddest space of six months that their father sat out there and
-
refused to let the birds destroy her children and destroy her precious seat. I'm
-
beginning to think, I know there was times that she had to eat.
-
There was times that she had to run into town for something or come to
-
her something, or maybe someone was bringing it to her. But maybe she
-
left someone say hey, I'm going to run into the town for ten minutes.
-
Can you watch she's can you watch my children? They're hanging up here,
-
can you watch my children. I'm trusting you to watch my children and
-
to protect them. And maybe she went up forever about to eat. She
-
came back and she seen him on nasty bird over here on this one.
-
What are you doing? I trusted you to watch my children. I trusted
-
you to pray for my babies. We must be careful trusting people with our
-
children. We must be careful, trusting that others are praying for our children.
-
If we don't do it, it might not be getting done except for
-
by Pastor and her first lady and a few out of the congregations. But
-
we need some parents that was standing in the fields and fight back to the
-
birds of wickedness, provision and comprovise. They're trying to devour our children and
-
young people, and we need to fight back to the foul of worldliness.
-
They're trying to crippit our churches and in our our children's lives. Call me
-
old fashioned, a seeking tradition. That's okay, because I'm beating max some
-
birds. You can call me old fashioned, that's okay. I'm standing for
-
holiness. You can call me seek the tradition. That's okay. I'm gonna
-
stand no matter what or what the world God says for what the Bible says.
-
Bidle holiness. I'm not backing up. I'm got loosing it up.
-
I said, I'm gonna sad in this day. Everybody tries to hang like
-
it's okay to loosen up, lighting up. I'm gonna beat back the world
-
the birds of compromise. I'm getting old enough now to look back and realize
-
that when I used to visit churches and campy and and assemblies, and I'm
-
hear Hawiians standards and and modesty and in the way we dress and in the
-
way we live act, I used to hear these things. And now these
-
same preachers and preachers wife they wants held to high value on holy living and
-
used to hold a high value, won't being back the birth they used to
-
hold a high value, are partaking their young people. They've backed up,
-
they took them back you they said that, I don't see if they want
-
anymore. And now these same preachers, pastors and pastors wife they wants held
-
to high value on these things, are now allowing their children and people in
-
their congregation that they have backed up, and they're allowing on the platform,
-
and they change their interpretation of the scriptures and what they want stood against.
-
They're now allowing on their children. They on their platform, and they're allowing
-
as they never want to dream that they never want to dream would have been
-
they would have allowed. They're allowing it because it's been so gradually. A
-
lion, I should have looked it up, and it just came to my
-
mind. I didn't think about it when I was studying. I don't think
-
it pikes a lion too long too to devour a carcass. You know,
-
I say, it could clean it pretty quick. These birds, these little
-
seeds, it takes time, one seed at a time, a little pink
-
here and a little little seed there, And that's what happens. It's gradually
-
over time they begin letting up, they get loosening it up, and little
-
by little they're falling away and they're backsliding. Little by little, someone has
-
left. The birds come in and devour the seeds of righteous living in the
-
holiness. Somebody didn't have a mind made up to beat back the birth of
-
compromise. Every time our pastor gets up in this boo bit gets God knowing
-
it at appointed don't preach what they says, what the saith the horn of
-
God. He's taking a risk, but says against the word of the devil.
-
He said, you ain't gonna have my see that I worked for you
-
weren't gonna have the present. See that I saw that I pointed my best
-
when tears and two, well, we need some parents to bass our pastor
-
to take a risk, was says from behind you get at the risk of
-
etermination and wrestle with resolved said, you're not having my babies. If God
-
saved your soul, you must protect it. If God saved your children,
-
you must do all. You can't get protected. If God sanctified you holding
-
through the Trinity, you must protect it. If you have received the Holy
-
Ghost, you must be back the birds of Monday, the lethargy, less
-
us yell, stir up the gift that is within you. Just because we
-
get the Holy ghosts don't mean that we have arrived and then we can sit
-
back and not fight and not big as the birds. We must see fight
-
a good fight. We must finish our coss. If we want to make
-
killing our home, nor sure it. Build it up. Build yourself up
-
on your ghosts, holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Put some
-
value of the Holy ghost ings with him. You can't lose it. I
-
heard that people losing it. I had one elder, legitimate tell me years
-
and years ago, when you get the Holy ghosts, never lose it.
-
He said. I had it and I lost it, he said, And
-
I'm having a fight so hard to get it back. You're not going to
-
prove which the Holy Ghost God gives you power if you choose to use the
-
power. Too many good people, too many creatures, and Christians have failed
-
and have failed fallen. When they have the Holy Ghost in their heart in
-
their grasp, you must nurture it, start it up, don't let it
-
tie. So I'm here at Bethel, have came to plant their children in
-
good ground. Most of us here the sporting, are above the age of
-
accountability. Most of the children here to sporting. My personal opinion, I'd
-
say Brother Tids is about the closest one that's that's not past that age.
-
If he ain't, I don't know. I think I've heard of people as
-
the old five. I've heard of people getting blood ball born again, filled
-
with the Holy ghost of five years old. Though I almost inclined to believe
-
that you can be accountable around that age. Most of us in this service
-
to sport at our past the age of accountability. And it don't matter what
-
our parents do. They can sell all the good seed in you that they
-
can. They can pour it into you every day, they can pour into
-
you every hour. And if you don't guard as yourself, if you don't
-
be back to birds yourself, they will steal you can be in a God
-
in the house. You can be in a MoMA and daddy house. They
-
praise till their needs a lot. It will hide. And if you don't
-
guard the seed, your parents have done what they needed to do. They've
-
got to in good ground. They've got to in a place where they toilet
-
the soil on his tail, where the rocks are removed. And they're trying
-
their best to be back the birth of time provice. They're trying their best
-
to beat back everything that come and gets you. But if you don't guard
-
it yourself, I feel the holy pool. If you don't put an effort
-
into it, you'll slide back into the place where you once was. You'll
-
slide back into the stony ground. You'll find thorns right around you, talking
-
a light out of you. I don't believe any parents that truly cares about
-
the world building, world be well being of the children would ever choose to
-
plan them in stony ground. We're somewhere forwards could spring forth him choke the
-
spiritual life for the home. We must have more concern Pardner offspring than in
-
old well had a tohoot our closed Bess for us crossed the rough so I
-
would you this was the home. We're gonna make an altar here. This
-
morning, this lawful sower seed fell by the ways side, and the birds
-
devoured it. Riskless sons were hanged, and she refused to let the birds
-
in peace throughout her children? Who will you be? Will you be the
-
slothful servant that just throws seed haphazardly and caressly, or will you be like
-
risker? They stand there and say, I will fight for my place.
-
I will do all that I can get. My babies have the ground.
-
I will weave back the birds. The story is yours today. The story
-
is yours. God started it, You finish it. God gave you the
-
seed, God gave you the ground. God again the story. You finished
-
it, your offspring. You're counting on you, the counting on us to
-
be godly examples to teach them the ways of God. We must show them
-
how a little hole in above reproach, it is possible. Through Jesus Christ,
-
our stadd who died for us, we can be back to bards.
-
We can't live above reproach. Do you never stop Mother's bread? They so
-
stop me, overturn every time I keep breaths no you don't pray things to
-
happen only out today we are wide. Oh well, keep paying for him,
-
never stopping. Well, there's prey so s STOs so far. It's
-
time I keep on breacause I know when we pray, thanks you happy and
-
honing out to them ble me it's tarring to long and I art to the
-
sea change belong they have this art. I keep baby and bath, then
-
stop praying, mother spradairyesco the super stop straight in so far please time Never's
-
time I keep on bracause I'm going when we pray, things can happen them
-
going down to them with us? Why don't win, I'll keep over now,
-
I'll never stop right this mother's dairy, stop the super stop straining and
-
so fun please turn pay living this time. I keep on rage because I'm
-
weep bray. Things can happen now to them with us. Why don't thing
-
to take smart lovers which change tune and say I'm get lifting up and now
-
even now I keep rageing for you. I'll never stopped raining and series the
-
super stop straight in by so they start where they are. There is time
-
I'm keep on res time to go to when we pray things to happen.
-
Moaning down today. O, man, I don't care this stime, to
-
this super Boston down souer Stee, that's something I done. I pray in
-
my senior legs. Oh, that's something I own us. You looks,
-
but now you see that's something bred in the mess. Stowing the arms lay,
-
that's something I love. My name st
