A chip off the old block - Bro Jeremy Howell 11-12-2023

We want to say thank you this morning for giving to sister Wooton and her

financial need. We have never that I am aware of, ever given to

her personally, but at this time we have felt led of the Lord to

give to her, and I appreciate everyone that gave in that offering. May

the Lord bless you he will, because I feel like it's of his doings

that he would have us give to this dear sister. If you have your

Bibles, may I direct your attention to the Book of Ephesians, that beautiful

Pauline Epistle. The Book of Ephesians, chapter number two and verse number ten.

Brother Nathaniel Matthew, Chapter number thirteen and verse number fifty five, Brother

jesse Philippians, Chapter number one and verse number six, look at your neighbor

and say, hey, neighbor, thank you for coming today, because you

make me look good. Oh yes amen, Brother Nathaniel Matthew, Chapter number

thirteen and verse number fifty five. Is not this the carpenter's son. Is

not his mother called Mary and his brethren James and Joseph and Simon and Judas.

Is not this the Carpenter's son, Brother jesse Philippians, Chapter number one

verse number six. The incoonfident of this very fame, that he which hath

begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Having of you all saw that beautiful piece of woodwork that brother Steric built

for Brother Philip and Sister Elizabeth's wedding ceremony. What was that called? An

arch an archway? Was it beautiful? It was? You saw the handiwork

of the Reverend Thomas Starrett, and his handiwork was something that I was most

proud of, not in a bad sense, but in a good way.

I was very proud of his handiwork. And I noticed that Brother Thomas Sterrett

did not leave that work unfinished, but he brought it all the way through

each and every process until he could say it was a completed work. I

want to ask you a question before we read our Golden text. Are you

a work in progress? Are you going through a certain process right now in

your life that you can thank the Lord that the carpenter is still working on

you. Let's stand for the reading of our text again. The beloved Apostle

Paul writing to the church at Ephesus that Pauline Epistle Esians chapter number two and

verse number ten, The Bible said, brother, just let me just have

you read that? Brother, Well, we are His workmanship created in Christ

Jesus, unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk

in them. So for we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus, unto

good works. If somebody prays to be saved, and they profess to be

born again after praying such a prayer, and they remain a drug addict,

are they in fact His workmanship, the product of his hands. If they

don't allow themselves to continue to be worked upon by the hand of the Master,

then they are no longer his workmanship. Because everything the Lord begins he

finishes. May we pray, Heavenly Father, we love it, We praise

you. We thank you for your wonderful spirit that we felt this morning,

the way the Holy ghosts moved the sister. How will let us hend those

congregational hymns and singing? God, I thank you for that. I thank

you for the way the Holy ghost empowered the saints to praise your name,

and that personalized praise that each individual gain to you. I pray that you

would have known this thy serve would set a guard in my mouth, and

help me to say the things that you would happy to say, nothing more

and less and nought the ears of this thy people, that they might hear

what the Spirit say at under the church. Today we pray through this preach

word, not of my words, flor, but by your words. I

pray change lives that need to be changed for your b Let this people be

the workmanship of your hands. God. We give you the praise and the

honor and the glory in Jesus' name. And the Church says, amen,

you may be seated, for we are His workmanship. Our text is found

in a New Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Ephesians is

one of the Pauline Epistles, meaning that the author of this writing is none

other than the beloved missionary of the New Testament Church, the Early Church of

Christianity. The Apostle Paul is the author of this book of the Bible.

While reading through the Book of Acts, I noticed that the Apostle Paul had

visited Ephesus not only on his second missionary journey, but also on his third

missionary trip. The Apostle Paul had no doubt fallen in love with this precious

group of believers and felt it important to revisit them. You know, when

you visit somebody after you have left their company, you determine whether or not

you will revisit them in their situation. Brother Aaron Weather's some people that you

and I would visit in the name of the Lord, and we would contemplate

whether or not it would be good for us to revisit them because of the

atmosphere or the environment. Concerning some people and places, one visit is enough.

In fact, if you're one of those commentators a comment on Google Reviews,

you have probably said before concerning some places of business, I will never

visit there again. But the apostle Paul felt like the fruit of his labor

was definitely sustainable here in this place of emphasis, and he felt like the

group of believers was worth revisiting. I feel like it's worth my time revisit

certain topics a couple times a year because we know that we are developing church.

We're not only developing in the process of sanctification and separation from the world,

We're also developing as a body of believers, meaning that God is blessing

our church with all stages of life. I look out upon this congregation this

morning, and I see the week old child, the infant in its mother's

arms. I see the toddlers toddling around this place, and I see the

teenagers and the elders. And truly our church is one of natural development.

Also under this roof this morning, this is a place of spiritual development.

We haven't done a whole lot concerning the physical building and the property. In

the last couple of years. We underwent a major reconstruction and remodeling project,

maybe five years ago. We have felt that that was sufficient for some time.

In fact, we've been content to worship the Lord in this place just

as it is. I have not been interested at all in revisiting the paint

job, because particularly I do not like painting. Sister how is the professional

painter in our household. I will do everything that needs to be done besides

paint when I figured out that she had the patience of job concerning painting a

building. And I am very impatient with painting, and I'll get it on

something I have figured out as Sister Howell is the one that does the painting

around the house. But I have revisited, not slothfuly many different topics throughout

the years of my ministry, and I'm so thankful that the Lord is willing

to revisitit things in our lives. He comes back by, and he doesn't

inspection. The initial inspection is not always enough. After that initial inspection,

the Holy gost, the inspector will revisit that situation. Anybody that has ever

received a citation from a city official or a law enforcement officer, you will

know that they require you to follow up or to revisit that particular situation.

They want it to be addressed and completed. They want the process to be

followed. They want each step of that process to be executed, brought to

fruition. And then after everything has been done, every step has been taken,

and it has been fulfilled, then they will excuse you from whatever it

was that they had your attention on. And I want you to know this

morning that there will never be a time in the Christian's life, in the

believer's life when God says I have excused you from your responsibility of doing better.

No, if you have picked this religion because you feel like it is

a free for all and that you have received permission slips from the Lord in

order to do whatever you want to do at any time, at any place,

and that grace will smile upon you, and that forgiveness will be granted,

and that love is unconditional. You know it is unconditional. Love is

unconditional. But if you love the Father, you will keep his commandments.

And if you are a child of God, truly you understand the nature of

God, and you will not find the commandments or the mandates of God for

the believer to be grievous. There's never been a time in my life since

I have become a Christian that I felt like anything the Lord spoken to my

heart through his word or by his spirit was something that I was unable to

do. I always felt like, and I still feel like, if He

speaks it to through his word or through his spirit, that I am able

to do that that he has commanded me to do. I know that there's

a lot of people today they do not understand what it is like to experience

the new birth. We will remember that Nicodemus was a man who was religious.

In fact, he would have been highly educated in the law of Judaism.

He would have been able to quote a lot of the quotes of Moses,

he would have been able to tell them of the laws of the Jews.

But brother Jesse, this man Nicodemus, came to Jesus the Teacher by

night and begin to ask him what was it that he needed to do?

What am I missing out on? Why do I feel incomplete? Why do

I feel unfinished? And it is true for every unbeliever, no matter how

religious they are, if they have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and

confessed him to be Lord and savior of their life, had accepted him,

that they will find that there is a void in their life, but they

will always feel in completed. They will always feel insecure because they know in

their heart they have not done the things that the Lord wants them to do.

Now, as I was reading this Pauline epistle, I noticed that the

Apostle Paul kept revisiting certain things concerning these believers. In fact, I noticed

by the road cap that in the Book of Acts that Apostle Paul had experienced

some things that most believers would not have been able to endure. Some great

hardships took place in Ephesus. The lifestyles of the people of Emphesis were such

that they vexed the spirit of the Apostle Paul, and he felt compelled to

preach against the way that they were lived. In other words, he was

uncomfortable with their lifestyles, and he would have been disinterested in revisiting them in

their homes if they had remained unchanged. The teachings of the Apostle Paul clashed

with the lifestyles of the Ephesians and loot. The beloved Position recorded this in

the twentieth chapter of the Book of Acts. He spoke of a time when

the Apostle Paul summons the elders of the Ephesian congregation. In Acts, chapter

number twenty and verse number seventeen, the Bible said, and from Malitus he

sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church. And so Paul went

on to explain the purpose of his ministry, why he had endeavored to preach

and teach and revisit those things that he had taught, even though everywhere he

went he would suffer persecution. In fact, in this Pauline epistle the Book

of Ephesians, we find that the Holy ghosts witnessed everywhere that the Apostle Paul

would experience bonds and afflictions. In other words, if he was going to

be a preacher of truth and righteousness, there was no question at all he

was going to suffer persecution. Yeah, the righteous, the God in Christ

Jesus, shall suffer persecution. You see. The Apostle Paul made it clear,

and he declared the whole counsel of God. To those that listen to

him, teach and preach. He warned them when the words found in the

twentieth chapter of the Book of Acts and the twenty ninth verse, he said,

for I know this, Notice that I know this, not that I

question it. Not maybe it will happen, not perhaps, But he said,

for I know this, that after my departing shall grieves wolves enter in

among you, not sparing the flock. How many prisons today will admit with

me that those are very sobering words. For anybody to hear from pastor Howard

to tell it to the people of the bider Ho in this church in La

bel Florida, or for the Apostle Paul to tell the congregation of the Feasian

Church, there are grievous morcer gonna come in and attempt to Ploria. This

body, I believe was a part of who imbodly a member by member,

one member at a time, at will this assemble and destroy that local assembly.

Even though the Apostle Paul warned the Aphisian churches concerning certain dangers just a

hell, he spent most of his time writing about it good things such as

salvation and deliverance from sin, to being set free from their bonds and the

places of their imprisonment. He preached about the deity of Christ, and a

sermon recently, I talked about how foolish it is for people to believe that

Christ was and is a creative being. Christ was not a creative being,

and Christ is not a creative being. Apostle Upon made this clear in this

epistle to their Phesians. He made the doctrine of the deity of Christ as

clear as a person hants it to be. He also spoke concerning the will

of God. He's spoke of God's plan. Sir man, how many of

you feel like you're here today by divine appointment? And you can say I

am a person that is in the will of God. I must have been

that God's got a plan for my life of planning to pull that. I

do not fully understand it that I've been able to detective that this is the

handiworker of God. You might not be a masterpiece yet, but if you

allow God to continue to be your lord, and you're a savior and a

work on you, you can rest assured knowing this and that you will be

perfect. You do know that the Wight has said, be ye perfect,

even as your father in heaven is perfect. When a father ever asked a

child to do something and that child was unable to do no, In fact,

the father knows it that you cannot get rid of your imperfections. The

father knows that you cannot fix a certain things, and factopist left up to

you. You will remain imperfect and imperfect individual in an imperfect world. But

the reason why the Father man dated the perfection of the believers is because the

Father fully intended to perfect that that is concerning you. He's the author and

the finisher over your faith. I want to preach to us this morning a

sermon the Holy Ghost titled a Chip off the Old Block. I feel like

this son of a carpenter had watched his daddy many times against some piece of

woodwork. Maybe it was an arch of stone. Man, it was an

archway of wood. They said a lot of carpenters were actually stone masons and

were brick masons, or maybe even those that dealt with wood. But I

would say, when you study the personality of the man Joseph, you will

see that he is a devout man. He will see that he's somebody that

starts something and finishes it. He will remember that when the Holy Ghost and

the Angel dealt with him about not pushing Mary to the side, he finished

her, not let it begin in his life. He allowed Mary to bring

the fruition now that God wanted to do through Mary. Oh, the patience

of the man Joseph, has been some projects in your life that you have

not yet finished. Her husband, you noticed to be true. Around the

house are signs of project, say that have begun, but I have not

yet been finished. Aren't you thankful that when Norah began building the article,

that he continued until the finished product was able to bring sivas to his house.

I want to tell those that believe her they could just pray her a

few It's just to God that receives our ration. Go now to the river

and be baptized and never gonna church again, never pray again, gonna read

their Bible again. It's not ut to your beauty able to sustain your house?

Is that really what God intended to hand you? How much I there

for one and to tell you to tell everybody. I know I've been saved.

I know I've been spared for treuch me because I felt to his pressIt.

I heard his word. I felt like that he does something from me.

I want you to know that every person that God begins to work in

their life, it's just that it's worked for the Lord, it's gonna be

worked for you again. I say, her father can't tell a son be

purpect to be holding because that father, it's not a helper that child be

perping and heard him. I want to preach to you this morning. We're

without excuse. We pointed our imperfections, and we say, oh, they

ain't knowing everybody perfect, That's right. I told a dear, sweet young

woman yesterday that asked to speak to me. She asked for a few moments

of my time, and she was very respectful, and she said, you

know I've made some mistakes. I feel like you've made some mistakes, and

she was asking me to forgive her, and she wanted to forgive me.

It was somebody that had left the church many, many, many years ago,

and I'm withholding the name. That's nobody's business. But I feel like

her efforts were sincere. I really feel like she meant a lot of what

she was saying. But you know, I told her, I said,

well, first of all, I want to make something clear. I have

made it clear ever since I've been preaching since the age of thirty that I

am not perfect. But I am trying my best to study the Word of

God and to keep his commandments, and I'm trying to become perfect. I

have made some mistakes. We have all fallen short of the glory of God.

But it is never the will of God that somebody pick up this blessed

book read the sayings. I didn't say, that's too hard for me.

Can't nobody do it? Wash the hands of this Word of God and turn

and walk away from a carpenter and expect her that everything is going to end

a well, oh no, it's not going to work that way. You

see the apostle Paul, he spoke to their he's in church concerning certain dangers

that were just ahead. How many of you know that there are dangers just

ahead of every person in this house of God. Aver does not care who

your pastor is, He does not care who your parents are. He knows

their names. He knew their names when they were born. He could tell

when they were young people that they would serve God. He saw then that

they knelt her had an old passioned altar in prayer, and God met them

there and they experience them the new birth. I want to compare something here

this morning, the new birth and experience to the older man experience. How

many people are there in this world today? They're claiming to be something there

or not. And you can tell, after having had a conversation with them,

or looking at the way they demonstrate to their relationship with the Lord,

that they have not experienced to the new birth. That's what's wrong with them.

You wonder why do they try to do that and get by with it?

You wonder how are they get bowed with that? And oftentimes we give

them the bitter bit of the down and sometimes we make a mistake and say,

with at there doing it, I'm might as well doing her. Come

on the old time, she's the same. If everybody was jumping up a

bridge to their deaths with you doing as little children, we say no,

I would not follow the trend of the masses. Say, I don't care

what the trim of the masses is, breaking the commandments of God. I

don't care what to tread. A ministry is nowadays to a lot of people.

And they tell them the people seeing her a little bit every day,

not if they're the sun of a popetar, not their parentship. How to

the block to come on that the ant that makes her get some blue and

heaven, their nature, the spirit of Christ, take something residents in that

person. They look at you, they despise you, They hate it when

you say that, But it is truth they need or new birth. I

said, they need the new birth experience. When I got saved, I

no longer struggled with the things that I want struggle with. It's not that

I'm stronger than you are, It's that I'm weaker than you are. You

need to get that. I kept my purity throughout high school, elementary school,

junior high, in high school. Yes, it can be said that

brother Howell is stronger morally than some are, and that some have been.

It's easy for somebody to point say, I just wasn't as strong as you,

and you know, we can shrug our shoulders at that, said,

well, bless the poor, pitiful heart that they cave so easily. But

I believe really it was this that I'm weaker than some and the fact that

I'm not so willing to buck up against the spirit of God and to quinch

the spirit of God and to silence his voice speaking in my heart. And

in fact, there's some of us. It takes more than conscience in our

life. It takes the word of God and the spirit of God, for

sure, But there's some of us even when that conscience says, hey,

you should not be doing that. Hey, this is not a good idea.

The conscience says there's gonna be cops and clinches. There's some of us

that are to me and to our conscience, to God, and we say,

you know what, I feel like God is the instructor himself and serving

my life and inspecting my situation and saying, don't touch that, haste that,

don't handle that. I want us to reassess them our lives and realize

we are thought against our conscience willingly. We have fault against things that we

knew we should do, that not doing them. We have fault against not

doing things that we should not have done. Are y'all with me here this

morning? I'm preaching a pastoral message to you. But you've got to be

weak in r concerning the spirit of God, that you will cave to the

weird of cod The truth is that some of you are stubborn as a funeral

concerning that the processor that God has you in. I want to be a

problem. As plain to me. Not every handful a plain submits to the

pursuer of the potter, not every piece of pottery that on the potters.

We will will come out to a guess up for the fighter. Why you

didn't miss? You don't even you can't put up persistence. But God is

dealing with you as a passle. Paul said, I'm gonna cave. I'm

gonna be abedient to that heaven and calling. Not many people today will say,

hey, hey, I need him to work on me. It used

to be popular among Pentecostal hall in his churches that the booster bands would sing

before the main worship service began after Sunday school in fact, between the two

services, they would sing a song he is steal working on me. The

truth is, though, when we put that song on the shelf, we

also put the Master on the shelf. We put his toolbox on the shelf,

and we put us tools in the toolbox that is on the shelf,

and we said touch me, not handle me, not have nothing to do

with me. It is clear to the student of this book of the Bible

that the Lord has a plan for the Paesian Church and Brother Rick Jacob,

I feel like the Lord has a plan for the Church corporately. He has

always had a plan. Not only is his plan for them to be a

saved people, they are to be a unified people. No matter the race

or the culture. They should allied themselves with the Word of God. I

feel like if I'm a missionary or foreign soul, I will teach and preach

the same things that I preach to the American Christians. Could the Church of

say, amen, you see the people who profess to be the children of

life, those are who claim to be the offspring of the Lord God.

Do you realize when you say I am a Christian, you are declaring yourself

to be the very offspring of God. Who amongst us today will raise their

hands say I'm unashamed that I'm a child of God. I'm unashamed that I'm

a child of God. Do that with me, phraise, raise that hand

and say I'm unashamed to say that I am a child of God. Did

that feel good? How did you feel like a hypocrite. I'm not saying

you're perfect yet, that it is his meal that you become perfect. I

said, that is his plan for every child of God, regardless of the

nationality, to be perfect. Oh, come on, now, a lot

of he raised her head and declared herself to be the offspring of God.

So what are you saying? I am the product of the Lord. Yes,

and you're in a process. You are not the finished work. I

thank God. The salvation through Jesus Christ can be a finished work. And

when Jesus said declared that it was finished, there is no doubtor that a

told that was made through that atoning blood. There is no doubt that he

was the substitutionary cyclofica for every singer of every generation. There is no doubtor

that Craze has been applied and his life was unconditional for all of the human

race, the past, present, and future. Let you know what,

when Jesus said it is finished her, he was not saying her. Every

person is exactly how I want him to be. That's what the preacher said.

And teachers are preaching her and teaching the dame that the trunk adictor has

been taken care of her. Oh no, I beg to different that the

is what the apostle Paul main clear to this appeas in church, we can

have hope of salvation. You know what you're saying to me the scripturally correct.

I know what you mean. Look at our text. I know what

you mean. You said, I am the product, I'm the offspring.

I am the child of God. Look at our golden text again. For

we are His workmanship created in Christ. Jesus are too good words which God

hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Say the first few words

of that with me, for we are His workmanship. You here this morning,

you're a part of the family of God right now, I can't say

that you will always be a part of the family of God because you might

decide to walk away from the family of God and to say God is no

longer your father or your Lord. Oh come on, now, what is

God doing in your life right now? Are you finished work? I feel

like that's the spirit that I'm dealing with this morning. There's a couple of

people in this building that feels like God has done everything he can do,

and everything he wants to do, and everything he will If God has done

it all, that's what you feel like. And the spirit of God told

me to attack this the way a boot dog would attack a heart. I've

got to help you understand that you are not a complete fitish product. You

are not a fitness worker. You are a worker progress. You are sitting

down on your hands and set alpha mat in the bethel I'll made into the

house of God. The fact that I'm here is enough. No, it

is not enough that you're here. It's not enough, but that you call

yourself a child of top I will try to prove this up scripturally. Momentarily.

You just testified I'm here, I'm part of the family of God.

Is God allowed to have his will and you alive? Is God allowed to

demand you, dear the service to do some simple things good. You can

be holding the key in your poing some of what God has somebody to do

in this lot, in this service. Are you willing to do it?

We look around this morning and we see children all throughout the sanctuary of different

ages, children that are watching their parents more than they're watching the preacher.

They see the preacher about three times a week, and they see their parents

many times during the week. Come on, I see this, brother Jesse

causing some parents to blush, because we all know that if that child is

spending a lot of time with their parents, then all we have to do

is spend a few hours when those parents' children and then we will glean or

good understanding of what their parents are. Like. My dad and mom watched

our children about ten years ago for about a week's time. I can't remember

what it was that caused them to do that. We have never left our

children with anybody for any period of time that I could remember. Maybe it

was our twenty fifth of when was it? Since now the twentieth when celebration

in Boston, Massachusetts? Have we left some children here. We left some

children over there because not everybody wants to watch six of children that I remember

my family being as close as it was. Some of them had got together.

They had held various events just to get all the Howell children together.

You know, the siblings being separated for a leaky period of time wasn't a

good thing. And I remember when I got back, my father and my

mother looked at me, and my dad said, son, you have some

very good children. They're so well mad and they're very respectful. And he

said, you and Charity have done a spectacular job with your children. How

many of you know the Saint can be said about our head of the power.

He does a great job with every one of his children. There some

of you that have been been ructed to seek your children home with Sister Root

because her like to not serve as child. Know a little bit about your

whole life, and you don't will your situation because of power. Lets you

under an aitude. Oh come on now, if you would have interviewed Bura

Caleb Brown Kappa at the end of this morning's service, you would conclude that

he shares the opinions of his father and his father he shares their attitudes,

he share shares their morals, he shares their values. Oh, yes he

does. You can tell that he is a chip of hockey, old block.

I want to better keep this servant this morning to Burda Caleb, because

I feel like his actions have been ad birable and that he represents her.

His parents made up. You can tell it that they did not coper a

form a whole life. You can tell the ship man in his early twenties

was raised her in a carp here and home a cab but the mob,

and the mob but the children, and they had the fear of God and

alive where they listen to what the God of Heaven said, and they rested

the what their pastor said. And the goodness product is a young man that

is able to need a wife and a family according to the will of God.

This is true. And so because the road Camps have left an impression,

Old brother road Camp, Junior brother Caleb, if you're not reading this

Bible, and if you're not attending church, and if you're not hanging around

your pastor and hanging around the people of God, you will become dysfunctional concerning

the things of God. Are you all with me, and you will find

yourself sitting a little bit every day. You see, brother, sister road

Camp, they gave thought to the way they raised their children. They gave

a thought to the way their actions and their lifestyle would affect their son and

their other children. Come behind, brother Caleb. That ever, once in

a while the tree drops an apple that roams away from the tree. Come

on, now, you ll listening to me. Now, it's true that

every once in a wall a child will act contrary to the way that they

were taught to act. Again, for your feeling sake, I will say

that again. Now it is true that every once in a while a child

will act contrary to the way they were taught to act. And not the

Bible say train up a child in the way they should go. Just because

you train them in a certain way does not mean it was the right way.

now there are their product of your upbringing, and you're raising earl. I

love to hear crickets preaching that fact. They're preaching the then you're preaching the

Lord. Oh yes, come on, parents, shoulder that lord that harms

lots of ability. They tells somewhere, I don't roll who raising my child

God with so sut wrong. God wants an upplant. What's an uprooted God's

able to do that. That's why me and the creator power of the Lord.

That's the thing. But said, they're creating me a clean harker,

Oh God, they ever knew a rock spirit up within me. It's true

that every once in a while a child will act contrary to the way they

were taught to act. However, this should never be said about the child

of God. If one of our parishioners goes up the road he robs a

bank, I am not going to acknowledge that they're one of our parishioners.

I'm gonna say that's one of the devil's children that was occupying space here in

our local assembly. But that is not exactly a follower or a keeper of

our teachings. There's a lot of people professing to be the offspring of the

children of God. There's a lot of people going around saying I'm a chip

off the old block. They're burying a lot of people that were driving while

under the influence and hitting somebody's precious family head on and killing a number like

six or seven. And there's some preacher getting up and blaming a child of

God for those kind of things. As a preacher getting up behind her a

drug dealer and poison somebody's child and saying, hey, he was a good

man, he loved the Lord. He prayed when he was eight, he

had his old demons to fighter. He's served drunks to this community. Well,

he destroyed many lassa, but he's in heaven. They ain't talking about

the same father I got. They ain't talking about the same time God took

care impostor Jesus may have to say, n ain't Jesus, but I'm gone

my father. And you know what our father said. He knows, he

has, he's known that he is a that he just knows he am.

I don't now, Jesus, sader. You now a drug added to a

drug user is not a chip hockey helly block. That they could pray,

they could be to burn them, that they could get saved, and we

could say they are now like their father. Jesus one time told that some

religious dimples. He said, you or aren't your father the dample? Oh?

Come on now, my father, lock son, I've had all day.

If we are His workmanship, If we are His workmanship, you ever

heard of something that took place and you said that certainly was not the doings

of God. I've heard of people taking groups of people overseas and having them

drink poison, and I realize that certainly was not the doings of God.

I've heard of people say before they heard it in their heads to drown their

foul kids in the bath thrill. That certainly was not the doings of God.

I'm preaching to your pastoral sermon this morning. He should never be confused

after hearing this sermon. If you are the product or the offspring of God,

you have no problem overcoming sin because you overcome it through Jesus, because

greater is He that is within us than He that is in the world.

I want to say this again, for we are His workmanship created in Christ.

This is talking more about spiritual creation than natural creation. You're here this

morning. You're a part of the family of God right now because the Lord

is trying to do what he wants to do in your life. I look

around, Brother Rocap and I see these little ones, and I know they're

going to be the product of their upbringing. I know that our parents are

leaving an impression on their hearts. I know the pastor can talk about working

forty hours a week and if Dad ain't doing that, that son's gonna be

slowful and lazy. I know the pastor can talk about tithing and giving him

an offering in order to support the local assembly. But a bomb and Dad

are not demonstrating that. Are y'all with me? Now? If the Bible

tells us that we can live above reproach and we can live above sin and

we don't have to sin. But if they see Dad Mam sitting behind closed

doors, these children are going to mimic us. They're going to parent us.

Oh come out now, brother, Sister road Cap, you gave thought

to the actions that you conducted in your house, did you not, Sister

Roadcap? You gave talt to the lifestyle you would lead in front of brother

Caleb. Now I can say this, I have never one time been disappointed

with the way the Lord leads me. I've never been disappointed with the way

the Holy Ghost leads me. He leads and God's be into all truth.

I never have to worry about believing the line being down because I know he

leads and gods me into all truth. Every once in a while, though

naturally speaking, that apple will fall far from the tree. You know what

happens. It drops off of his branch, brother Jesse, It hits the

root or something, and it rolls down the hill. And there it is.

There's an apple way down there in the valley low that fell far from

the tree. You've heard that saying before, the apple doesn't fall very far

from the tree. Well, I'm glad that sometimes, brothers, there we

can look around and say, praise the Lord. There is some truth around

our tree. That's the product of our raisin. But I want to tell

you concerning the things that God, and god'spoke this to my heart this morning.

The apple never falls off his tree. His children are the fruit,

and they never fall off his tree. In fact, they abide in him.

He abides it them. And come on now, and you know what

the fruit remains. The fruit never falls off the tree. And said,

sometimes I may see somebody stumble and fall, and they just fall right down

there in the tree. They truly love God and they repent and they say,

Lord, I'm sorry. And they hang around the old stuff the base

of that apple tree the altar, and they pray and they say, Lord,

they treat me not to leave you, Lord, and treat me not

to forsake you. I don't want to roll down that. You don't wanna

go spiraling down out of control and end upper in that lake of fire.

And you know, look the Father does before it spoiled her, before the

worm is in it. The Father will pick that fruit up and miracklessly to

create ain't to power. He will restore the pruter to the tree. Come

on, now, I want to say it again. The fruit God will

stay on that tree. I said. It will stay through sup It will

stay over your cross. It will stay and get all the trade, selfless

desires, fleshly lost, will stay crucified. We will behaved upon his treed.

It's always true that the children of the Lord inherit his righteousness. Jesus

said, unless your righteousness exceed that of the scribes of Pharisees, ye shall

not. You shall not. Those are the words of Jesus. Accepted exceed.

It is true that our righteousness is as filthy rags, but we're supposed

to be inheriting his righteousness. The children of the Lord will not ignore his

instructions. They will not ignore his instructions given by the Lord through his word,

or the instructions given by the Lord through his minister. Do y'all believe

that the children of God will not ignore what they have seen and heard.

They will not ignore what they have seen that is written in the Word of

God. They will not be hearers only, but they will be doers.

Mothers, I want you to know something. The way you act is having

an influence on your children. You're making an impression on their hearts. In

fact, Ezekiel will pin these words in the sixteenth chapter, the forty fourth

verse. It has written, Behold, everyone that uses proverbs shall use this

proverbs against them. Mama saying, as is the mother, so is her

daughter. As is the mother, so is her daughter. Now we've heard

that blamed on the men for a long time, having with like father,

like son. But somebody just found these words of Ezekiel here and changed the

gender because we're being a little sensitive to the women folk. Well, let's

put the burden where it lies. Ezekiel said, as is the mother,

so is her daughter. We have heard the expression like father, like son,

and that's so true. Do y'all believe that it's true concerning natural children,

but concerning our God it is true as well. If that person on

the job is cussing like a sailor, they are not the child of God.

They are not the child of God. For we are His workmanship created

in Christ Jesus. Where it gets some unto good works, I thought they

said it's not in our works. That's right, Salvation is not in our

works. We can't earn it. But it said about here we are His

workmanship created in Christ Jesus. Unto good works. The Lord is working on

us and in us. I'm not asking anybody this morning to write down all

of the good things that you've done in the past weeks and months for the

Lord. I do not want you to focus on your good works, because

there's a lot of people in this building that have done some wonderful things.

But you know what, there's wonderful things that you've done and that you are

doing will not earn you salvation. But I am saying that if you are

the child of God, that there is no doubt He has worked on you

at some point, and he continues to do so. Apostle paul writing another

Pauline epistle in the first chapter, the sixth verse of Philippians. He said,

being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good

work, and you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Now,

I want to ask you something. If that drug addict and that drug

dealer gets up from the altar and they continue dealing and using drugs, is

that a good work? That's certainly not the work of God. They can't

blame God for that, while is people blaming the Father for father and children

that are not his. Now y'all getting what I'm saying here this word,

it's a hard thing for us to accept that they just simply do not know

about the better experience. It's sad for me to realize, Brother Samuel,

that they don't realize there is an alternative, there's another option, that they

could truly repent with godly sorrow, and that their sins can be washed away,

and that He can set them free from their sin. It's sad to

me to think that there are preachers now that are preaching that somebody doesn't necessarily

have to be delivered from their vices or their addictions, but that same preacher

can tell you twenty five years ago. They were an addict. They didn't

know any better. They came to church and desperate need losing their wives and

children. They prayed and they got gloriously delivered. But those grievous wolfs now

they stand behind the sacred death because they need their pension, their parsonage,

and their paycheck. And they lot of people, a lot of spirit has

overtaken them, and they tell that drug user, you know what, God's

merciful concerning that. You know what, You're a work in progress. I

believe concerning these bosses such as this, that at the moment of salvation,

the addict is delivered that they have no desire for those things, because if

they truly hated them enough to repent of them, then they have no intention

on going back to it, because they're trying to escape them. If they

truly despise that prison that they've wrote their name on the walls of so much

that they're sick and tired and done with it, they no overclaim ownership of

it. They are wanting to get out, Brother Jesse. They flee from

their sin, they flee from their addiction. Lead in the name of Jesus

by his power and by his grace, Brother Jesse, would you come to

the piano, my brother, My point this morning is for some in this

building to understand you're not a finished work. We are His workmanship, and

I'm saying that if you are a child of God, there is no doubt

He has worked on you, and he will continue to do so Philippians one

and six. He said, being confident of this very thing, that he

which hath begun a good work, and you will perform it until the day

of Jesus Christ. This is saying, if he began it, he will

finish it, Brother Jeremiah, if he began it, he will finish it.

The Lord always finishes that he starts. Let's stand. I am trying

my best to help somebody. My effort is desperate, my desire is great.

I've reached this past Wednesday night talking about a readiness of mine. I

don't know if you're ready for the Lord to work in you. I don't

know that you want to be released from that prison. But if you're the

child of God, He's not going to leave you unfinished. As long as

you come to this church, God's going to keep impressed it upon my heart

to just keep working on you until you're a vessel beat for the Master's use.

Genesis chapter number one and two, we can read of how the Lord

began and finish his work of creation. It was the work of his hands.

God saw what he made, and his conclusion and final statement was,

it's very good. It's very good. How about you? Are you willing

for him to make something very good out of you? Are you willing for

him to change you? You say, well, I'm always been this way.

Well, you know what, the way you've always been has got to

change. I can hear my sister in law, Suzanne, singing, Now

change me, Lord, change me, Lord, don't let me be the

same. I really do want to be more like You's preacher. Are you

saying that God wants to change me? That's exactly what I'm saying. He's

wanting to change you. The natural earth is the result of his handiwork.

The spiritual church is the result of his handiwork. If there's any good in

you, it's because of him. If there's any good in me, it's

because of him. And may I say this, if you're a child of

God, there should be plenty good in you. Brother Caleb, the servant

is dedicated to you this morning. There's plenty good in you, because there

was plenty good in Obama. Dad. Do y'all get that. If you

see good in a church, there must have been plenty good in the ministry

and the ministers within that church. If there's any good, and Sister Hannah,

there must have been some good. And Sister Howell, Brother Jeremiah,

if you're looking at anything good today in this building, it's because their father's

a good God. If you see purity and Jonathan, that wasn't there a

year ago, Brother Jeremiah's because he's got a pure father. Now. If

you see something beautiful about the spirit of brother Nathaniel, now it's because he's

got a new father. For we are his workmanship in my hands. I

hold the handle to a hammer coming to brother Sam. I want to demonstrate

is before we pray. Let's suppose that there's a head on the end of

this hammer handle. Let's say I got some work to do. As long

as you stand there humbling me con sober, I can work on it.

The son of the carpet, a chip off the old block. Son,

I want to work on you. Son, Let me work on it.

Joseph would say to Jesus, let's do it like this, Let's handle like

this. This is the way it ought to be done. But if there's

every time that you reach out and you stay my hand, that breaks my

heart. I just felt the hole that ghost as such a mighty way.

That's what I'm dealing with this morning, Sister. There's two or three people

in this building that have said I'm finished, I'm good enough. Will beating

me if I ever a point at the master and say I'm good enough,

but I got some more I need. I need to, but I need

to. Your children need you to, your girl needs you. While I'm

saying your mom, I'm saying that attitude, while I'm saying that accident.

Yeah, brother Samuel is repeatedly stopping me from fashioning him in my likeness.

I can't even lift a hand to work on brother Samuel for him stopping my

hand. But now Brother Samuel, with tears flowing down his face, literally

he said, work on my dad, work on my pastor m hm,

work on a preacher. But even more so than that, what I'm saying

this morning is work on me. Jesus daring. The night I tossed and

turned like a fish out of water, and I said, God, work

on me. I want to be a better preacher. I want to be

a better pastor. How had at bad? Do you want to be a

better mother? How bet a father? Do you want to be a better

daddy? The spiritual Church is the result of his handiwork. The Bible said,

for if any man being Christ, he is a new creature. Old

things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. He's not

wanting to make monsters. He's wanting to make ministers. He's not wanting to

make ministers of society. Only. He's wanting to make ministers in his house

from the holy ghost in this place. Let's bow our head right now,

there's two or three in this building. You have felt like I have arrived.

I'm where I need to be. I have arrived spiritually. For we

are his workmanship. I've been saved now thirty one years. He's been a

good God to me, My brother, Richard Jacob, I told him all

through the night, continue working on me, continue working on me. If

there's somebody in this building this morning, it would say, Lord, I

want to pray through this. And as the clay submits, to the hand

of the potter. I want you to change change my very nature needs be

change who I am so that I can need for your use when you come

to the altar in anybody, I know of at least two young men that

need to hit this alter. Now, will you pray awhile? Will you

let your heart be broken and rent and twained and saying, Lord, I

know that you don't fashion something that's uncomely. I know that you don't shape

anything the side of order. There must be a better experience this new creation.

The pastor speaks of this new bird. I want to experience it.

I want to be a chip off the old block. I want to be

a chip off the old block. Thank you Lord for allowing the preacher to

revisit this this morning. Thank you Lord. I don't want to be perfect,

but I need more of you to be perfect. I need you to

help you. I need you to perfect that the concern the things I need

you. I need you. I really do eat you. I really do

eat you. I really do eat you. Couse, young and old alike,

no excuses, no need to repent to the pastor. What you need

to do is ask Jesus to help you man, like father, like son.
