That you learn house. Thankful for the presidence of the Lord.
-
Loved that song on sang soon very will so we
-
shall see the King looking forward to that great day.
-
Thankful again for.
-
The president of the Lord to be in his house,
-
for the opportunity we have this morning. So thankful for
-
our pastor for this opportunity to speak, and thankful for
-
our Lord, who's been truly a good job.
-
So think of the way he's.
-
Drawn already today. If we looking at Luke chapter seventeen, Hey.
-
It's I'm looking at three verses here, and then we'll
-
turn to Genesis.
-
Nineteen later on. Hey, Luke seventeen, starting uh, verse thirty.
-
One says, in that day, he which shall be upon
-
the housetop and his stuff in the house, let him
-
not come down and take it away.
-
And he that is in the field, let it likewise
-
not return back.
-
Remember Lot's wife, who's so shall safest, who show sh
-
shall to save his life, shall lose it, And whoso
-
shall lose his life shall preserve it.
-
We could this monday, Lord, have that fault your name.
-
Oh you're in the mintion, you walking around here, spear
-
the old you gotta leak out and touch a Lord,
-
thank you for you make it.
-
For your present.
-
Years. I received heartness, you get the prase the blo.
-
Again.
-
Verse thirty two. I said, remember Locke's life going on.
-
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it.
-
Whoso shall lose his life shall preserve it. And this here,
-
it's in Renzo. It's Jesus speaking. And this account that
-
he's referring to is found in Genesis chapter nineteen.
-
Like I said, we'll go over there.
-
In Genesis leading up to Genesis chapter nineteen, there's quite
-
a lot that's happening and transpired here.
-
In chapter thirteen, Abraham and Lot.
-
Abraham is one of the patriarchs we know, the father
-
of the Israelites, if you would, and Lot is his nephew.
-
They were living together, they were cohabitating, if you would.
-
They both had their own tribe, but they were living together,
-
and it just became the land was.
-
Too small for them. They weren't getting along.
-
And Abraham comes a Lot, and he says, you know what,
-
take your pick of the fields, take your pick of
-
the lands.
-
And we all go forth. I don't want no contention.
-
And so in chapter thirteen, you know, they split their ways,
-
and in verse twelve of chapter thirteen it says that
-
Lot was facing Sodom.
-
That country that is notorious.
-
Then we get in a chapter fourteen and already just
-
a few verses in.
-
Lot is found in Sodom, right, And in chapter fourteen
-
we have the war of the Kings.
-
The kings went to battle and they took captain those
-
that were in sought them.
-
And in part of that was the family of Lot.
-
And we know that one of the servants, one of
-
Lot's people, escaped, and he came and told Abraham and
-
Uncle Abraham the band of God that he was and
-
the kind of person that he was. They run us up,
-
and he.
-
Went forth and he rescued Lot in his family.
-
Moving on in.
-
This timeframe, we don't hear Vlat anymore for a little while,
-
and in that time we hear promises given Abraham, like
-
was argument this one of how many promises have been given.
-
To us this year?
-
Promises were given to Abraham. And then in chapter seventeen
-
his name was changed. Abraham had this experience with God
-
and his name was changed, And we.
-
Get to.
-
Chapter eighteen, which is very familiar, and Abraham's going back
-
and forth God appears to Abraham and he gives.
-
Him and Sarah they're well past age. He gives him
-
the promise of their son and their.
-
Seed that and then he begins to tell him what
-
he's gonna do to Slum.
-
And because of the wickedness that was in thee and
-
in Abraham.
-
Because again the man that he was, the man of
-
God that he was, he began to plead because he
-
had a lot in that city. And he begins to plead,
-
and we know he goes back and forth, and they
-
go down, and eventually, I believe it comes down to ten.
-
If you find ten righteous people, which you spare the lamp.
-
And God said that he would. The angels depart, and
-
we get to where we are in chapter nineteen. The
-
angels show up, they arrive, and here at the beginning
-
when they arrive to lots even he bids them come in,
-
come in and spend the night here, and they say,
-
well not, We'll stay in the city.
-
And around this.
-
Time, the wicked min of Saulum they come, and they
-
desire to do wickedly. They want to they want to
-
do wickedness, and there's the altercation that goes on, and
-
the angels warm Lot. After every all that that's done,
-
I want to get here the Angel's warm life.
-
That they're gonna.
-
Destroy the city of Sodomygamor before I get too far.
-
That's what as we were praying it tell Someboddy, we
-
need to preserve our lives in twenty twenty five.
-
I'm all, brother, man, brother, come on.
-
When those in this new year.
-
There's so many things that's happened in twenties before, so
-
many doors have been opened for reaching everyone, so many
-
promises I've been made, like for Abraham, and there's such
-
a there's a possibility that Lot could have been a
-
part of all of that. Against so many doors open
-
in twenty twenty four, so many things that.
-
God has done for eaching every one of us.
-
Be it a move that we've made, be a spiritual
-
ground that we've made in twenty two before. Whatever God
-
has been gonna do in your life in twenty twenty four.
-
We've walked through a door. We've walked through some kind
-
of spiritual or something course.
-
In twenty twenty four. But here we are in twenty
-
twenty five, and we've got to keep it. Whatever we've got,
-
it's for our life, pre fur our life in twenty
-
twenty five, as we read on here in chapter nineteen,
-
I'm gonna look at verse twelve. The men said, the
-
Lot has to tell any here besides son in laws,
-
and thy sons and thy daughters, and whosoever thou hast
-
in this city, bring them out of this place, for
-
we would destroy this place, because the city of them
-
is waxing great before the face of the Lord, and
-
the Lord had sent us to destroy it. Lot went
-
out and spake to his son in laws, which married
-
his daughters, and said, get you up out of this place,
-
for the Lord will destroy the city.
-
But he seemed as one that mocked unto his son
-
in laws.
-
And I be gonna think how many of us end
-
this year when we've obeyed God, and when somethingbody has
-
happened that there had been, Perhaps there are been those
-
that begin to mock.
-
They didn't understand.
-
The urgency of what was gonna happen, what.
-
Was gonna transpire, And how many not just issue, but
-
in times past, the others.
-
That have obeyed God.
-
It could have been so beautiful for them as well,
-
But they chose to state behinds.
-
Because the truth was the comfortable where they at. They
-
enjoyed where they atestly they did not believe the urgency.
-
They do not believe the message. There was one soul. Lords, guys,
-
you read on.
-
It appears that the angels did spend the night, and
-
then in the morning they warned.
-
Lot to flee. Of this verse, in particular verse sixteen.
-
While he lingered, the men laid hold on his hand,
-
and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the
-
hand of his two daughters. And the Lord being merciful
-
to them, and they brought them forth and said them
-
without the city. And it came to pass when they
-
had brought them forth abroad, he said, escape for thy life.
-
Look not behind the scape.
-
Thou in the plane escaped out to the mountain, less
-
they will be consumed. It was with such mercy and
-
such grace the angels did not have to pull them out.
-
They did their duties. They warned them, They told them
-
up in the past. Because have God's mercy, he pulled
-
them out.
-
How many of us that in this last year, in
-
this twenty time, four our pastor or.
-
A preacher somebody has he's already he warned us, or
-
he preached with them too, astructed us.
-
But then instead of just moving on. He teared, and
-
he pulled for us and pulled us out. I want
-
to be thankful for that.
-
And it said, don't look behind you right walk through
-
the door this year. You know what you want to
-
secure and maintain what you want. You lock that door,
-
they put, it's time to lock the door on twenty
-
twenty four. Lock up those promises that God's give in me,
-
and preserve it, and march on and maintain what you've
-
got this year, because it's for your life, the spiritual
-
life that you've gained this year.
-
It's time to maintain it and hold on to that.
-
And now let go of that am.
-
That God.
-
Begins to bargain with the angels. They tell him the
-
fleets in the mountains, but he begins to bargain. He's
-
like that, that's too far from me, it's too high
-
for me. Can I stop on the way up? Can
-
I stop in zoar? And they consent, They allow him,
-
but they say keep going, because we can't start this
-
until you're gone. So again they're showing low in his
-
family mercy.
-
So he makes his way.
-
He gets up the zoor, He makes the travel, he
-
makes it this safety, he makes the safety he said,
-
hasty escape thither, for I cannot do this thing, so
-
they'll come thither. Therefore the name of the city was
-
called Zoar. The sun was risen upon the earth when
-
Lot entered into Zoar. So he finds safety. He's away
-
from the destruction.
-
He's in this place.
-
Again, a place of safety. And always when we were,
-
when I personally, when I would.
-
Hear this story, hear the account of the salt.
-
Filler of Law and his wife, I always pictured it
-
as I never, I guess, paid attention to it, but
-
I always pictured it. As they were traveling, she looked
-
back as they were progressing, she looked back, and she
-
turned away.
-
But as you read here, they make it to safety.
-
And his wife made it to safety.
-
Last wife had two daughters with her, and they make
-
it to a place of safety. And yet after all
-
of that, when the destruction starts to come and there's
-
nothing left to turn back to, Lot's wife is in
-
safety and there's nothing to turn back to, but she
-
turns around and makes a critical.
-
Mistake, right right.
-
Right.
-
We know later on the tragedy that happens with Lot's daughters,
-
But what could have happened if Lot's wife would have
-
been there to try her daughters into dead example to
-
her daughters, because she had other family that stayed and
-
sought them. But the promises that God had and what
-
God wanted to do was so much more and so
-
much better.
-
And I couldn't shake that.
-
The fact that we made it to safety, what you
-
gave in twenty twenty four and what we've got throughout
-
this year, the safety, the security, the peace that you found.
-
We can't lose that.
-
God can't press from where God has brought us to.
-
That's right right in Luke nine and sixty four. It's
-
very food the verse Jesus said.
-
To them, no man, having put his hand on the
-
plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
-
Matthew Henry comment on this verse. He said, no one
-
can do any business in a proper manner if he's
-
attended to other things.
-
Looking back leads to drawing back.
-
It might have just been a look for a lock's wife,
-
But what she eventually even though there was nothing there,
-
but she would have taken steps. She would have taken
-
steps there. We had no need to rebuild Sadom. Sodom
-
did not need to be rebuilt.
-
There's no use in going.
-
Back and trying to recover anything inside. Locke's wife turned
-
to the pillar assault. Did you read about that? And
-
Joe are And then as we move on, a Lot decides,
-
you know what, I'm not safe here. I'm not saying
-
here where my wife is here as a monumental pillar assault,
-
a monument to what happened. And he decides to listen
-
to the angels fully in the finish going up to
-
the mountain.
-
And then that's all we hear of Lot in the
-
Old Testament. His story is over.
-
It's all we hit it later in the New Testament
-
that his righteous soul was vexed because of happened. But
-
that's all we hear, and that's it for a Lot.
-
I'm so thankful Loot made it to that higher ground.
-
Eventually, he did make it to the higher ground. He
-
pushed on and made it to the mountain. And I'm
-
so thankful for Bethel.
-
And it can't be expressive if I'm so thankful for Bethel,
-
for the higher ground spiritually that we that we find
-
here at Bethel. And I'm so thankful for all of
-
the higher ground that we that I personally that others
-
have witnessed. We've achieved throughout this year, and we need
-
to maintain that and keep kine higher. I afraid that
-
those that those that are coming and those that are growing,
-
and those that are part of.
-
The stirt that we don't stop and so are just
-
not short. And we need to keep pursuing and keep
-
coming because it's for our life. Ultimately, we're preserving our life.
-
I recalled that I believe someone.
-
Had testified that God had spokes him that they would
-
be walking through some doors this year.
-
And surely many of us can say that we've we've
-
grown with something that's happened this year.
-
Every every year, God expects us to move on and
-
grow spritually, physically, whatever the case. We're all Megan, it's
-
Kanya Vincis. There's different things that are going on. Preserve
-
because that word just kept going over and over in
-
my heart, and then I found it later and on.
-
One of these verses.
-
But to reserve means to maintain, to protect, and to
-
keep first Peter five and as very familiar as it
-
tells us to be sober and be vigilant, because your
-
adversary of the devil is a roaring lion longing about
-
seeking move we make about if we keep, if we
-
stay stiff, we stay in the low planes. If we stay,
-
and God's warning us about the destruction. The enemy of
-
the adversary is gonna come, and he's going to do.
-
What he does.
-
He stills kills any destroys.
-
Yes.
-
In the context of Luke chapter seventeen, Jesus was describing
-
how the last days we're liking to those.
-
Of Noah and Lot.
-
But even before this, the Pharisees are asking him about
-
the Kingdom of God and when it would come, because
-
they perceived.
-
It as a physical kingdom, which is to come.
-
But they were looking for the physical kingdom here and
-
now they were asking about that physical kingdom.
-
And but truly there's a and that Jesus tells them, Yeah.
-
Says the King of the Kingdom of God cometh not
-
with observation.
-
Neither shall they say, lo here or low it is there,
-
For behold, the Kingdom of God is within you. They're
-
looking for this, this physical kingdom, this, this thing to
-
happen now, this thing to come now.
-
But there's something so much more, so much greater, right,
-
And there's something that come.
-
In Hebrews chapter eleven, verses six through sixteen is that famous,
-
the famous chapter of Faith.
-
The famous it says here, but without faith it is
-
impossible to please him. For he that heard that God
-
must believed that he is, that He's a reward of
-
them that diligently sees him.
-
For by faith, no of being warned of God of
-
those things not seen, yet moved with fear, prepared an
-
art to the saving of his house by the which
-
he condemned the world and became an heir of righteousness,
-
which is by faith and by faith.
-
Abraham, when he is caught out to go into a place.
-
Which he should, and went out, not knowing whether he
-
went by faith, He's sojourned in the lands of promise,
-
as in a strange country, willing in the tabernacles with
-
Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with them for the same promise.
-
For he looked for a city which I foundations, who's
-
donner and acre as God through faith Stareah herself receives
-
strength and conceive seed, and was delivered of a child
-
when she was past.
-
Age, because she.
-
Judged him faithful, who had promised Therefore spring there even
-
of one, and him as good as dead. So many
-
as the stars in the sky a multitude, and as
-
a sandwich is by this these sure innumerable, these all
-
God in faith.
-
Not having received the promises, but having seen.
-
Them afar off, or we persuading of them that embraced
-
them and confessed that they were strangers of pilgrims on
-
the earth.
-
For they that say such things declared plainly that they
-
seek a country.
-
And surely if they have been mindful of that country,
-
for once they came out of they boughted that opportunity
-
to have return. But now they are a better country,
-
that is in heavenly, where God is not ashamed to
-
because they're God. We had prepared them a city. All
-
these people know, Abraham Sarah. These were people that Jesus
-
was later speaking of here in chapter seventeen. They weren't
-
looking just for the earthly. They weren't looking just for
-
a little bit better now, And it said, truly they've
-
been looking for opportunity to look back.
-
They would have been defounded. They would have indeed found
-
a way to go back.
-
But we're pushing forward to something greater and something better
-
and something higher.
-
Chapter seventeen of Luke.
-
In those those three verses in that day he would
-
shall be upon the housetop and his stuff in the house.
-
Let him not come down to take it away. There's
-
no time to go back down and collect the weight
-
of the sins. Whether they don't talk so wonderfully on
-
the sins this morning, there's no time. Those that are
-
on the house top, don't go in and collect your things.
-
We're moving on. There's no time to go back Copect.
-
We don't have to go back aside him and collect anything. See,
-
even if that's left, there's no time for that.
-
Let and then he that's in the field, let him
-
likewise not turn back. We already read Jesus. Those that
-
turn back, there's no room for them.
-
They're not fit.
-
They're not fit for the Kingdom of God.
-
Another man that was attempted to preserve life was no.
-
Yeah, for many years, no, but work.
-
With that ord, calling out to whosoever would just pray
-
that they would take Keith and the preachers all throughout
-
this this year they've.
-
Been at they've been proclaiming the work of God, praying
-
that we would take heed, that we would growth.
-
Advance, and just like no, it's for our life.
-
Just look for life is near.
-
It's for life and it's time. Then we take what
-
we've got this year.
-
Then we pushed forward in this year, you're continuing to
-
advance and holding them what it had because it's for
-
our spiritual life, which is eternal life.
-
For And that's what they put my heart a long
-
time ago, and I'll never shaken.
-
Is when we realized that the reality of eternity, and
-
we take into account the reality of eternity and how
-
long eternity is and how real ev and how hard
-
where we're gonna end up.
-
It is for our life, and it is urgent. It
-
must take everyone would stay this first thirty three.
-
Said who's lover shall seek his life? Shall lea said
-
he's we shall lose its life.
-
Shot preserve it. There's no moving it onto.
-
The thanks in the past. There's no looking back.
-
It's not worth it.
-
It's not amazing. No, don't stop it, zoar churches come
-
under these altars, those knockers are don't make that critical
-
to stay.
-
Go looking back.
-
He stop to amans, and it's stop to protect what
-
God's giving us a treasure in the church.
-
It with all that we have had. Oh go back,
-
go back.
-
Way used to be before your presence came and changed.
-
Don't go back, go back to used to be befo
-
your presence came and change.
-
Oh my shame. See the book em no more change.
-
My fast.
-
My fast is over.
-
I now this small three dayDay.
-
I've been changed. I've been check and I won't do that.
-
I can't do that.
-
To wait any to me before your presence thame change.
-
If I won't go back, can go back.
-
To waiting ears to.
-
Me before your presence came to be?
-
Change between.
-
Won't go back? Can go back to the way used
-
to me before your presence
-
Came a change
