Congratulations to Brother Jonathan and sister of Hannah on expecting
-
a baby. Time will tell its gender. Whatever the gender is,
-
it's a blessing from the Lord. We miss the kidni's
-
family today. Their view is empty. Oh how we missed them.
-
Others that are out due to sickness, we miss them.
-
But we're glad you're here. And God wants to speak
-
to somebody this morning, Brother Caleb confirmed that would you
-
turn with me to Saint Matthew's Gospel. May I direct
-
your attention to the nineteenth chapter in the twenty seventh verse,
-
Brother Nathaniel, First Corinthians, chapter number two and verse number nine.
-
Brother Jesse Matthew, chapter number sixteen and verse number seventeen.
-
We want to say thank you, Brother Jeremiah, for all
-
you do concerning for birving these messages of these great
-
men of God. The preacher at the Bethel hold in
-
this church on a weekly basis. Thank you for preserving
-
and archiving those messages that they may be retrieved and
-
listen to at a later date. Praise the Lord. I
-
appreciate all of the preachers that are here this morning.
-
I am your biggest fan. I'm in your corner. Rooting
-
and cheering for you all. I appreciate you so much.
-
I appreciate every part of this church, every member in particular,
-
every ministry, every fact that administry, just everything that everybody
-
is doing for the kingdom and for their local church family.
-
Thank you so much. Do you appreciate the work that
-
these men did yesterday? Around here? My looks so good
-
around the place, Brother Nathaniel, First Corinthians, chapter number two
-
and verse number nine. As it is written, I have
-
not seen, nor you're heard, neither have inn into the
-
heart of man the things which God has prepared for
-
them that love him. How many of you believe the
-
Lord has some things prepared for his children. As a
-
mother prepares things for her children on a daily basis,
-
her children are benefited because of her love for them
-
and her care and her preparation and her provision for
-
those children. Even though at times and children might question
-
what's in it for me, Mama, and they may face
-
times of uncertainty. Mama has their best interest in my
-
and Mama is always preparing them for their future. If
-
she's a good mother. I preach of a good mother
-
right there, a god feared mother. If she is a
-
god feared and a good mother. She is preparing for
-
her children. There's no need for concern. But I want
-
to preach a message the Holy Ghost time real people
-
with real concerns. Brother Jesse Matthew, chapter number sixteen and
-
verse number seventeen. And Jesus answered and said, up to him,
-
let's start. Thou signon for Johanna. For flesh and blood
-
hath not revealed it unto THEE, but my Father, which
-
is in heaven, praise the Lord. Let's stand for our
-
golden text. We will read that here now. Matthew nineteen,
-
chapter number nineteen, verse number twenty seven. The Bible says,
-
then answered Peter and said, unto him, behold, we have
-
forsaken all and followed THEE. What shall we have there?
-
For?
-
By the showing of hands? How many people in this building,
-
they tell me they're seventy to seventy two people present.
-
How many of the people in this building have ever
-
heard a message preached on that verse? How many people
-
in this building have ever heard anyone preach on the
-
latter part of that verse? Nobody. I've been in church
-
a half a century, nearly fifty years, and I've never
-
heard anyone point out to me the latter part of
-
that verse. What shall we have therefore, real people with
-
real concerns? Who's speaking that? Peter? Behold, we have forsaken all, Sister,
-
howell and follow thee Jesus. What shall we have therefore?
-
What shall we have? Therefore?
-
What's in it for us?
-
What's in it for me? Will you stretch your hand
-
toward Heaven? Ask the Lord to help us this morning.
-
Heavenly Father, we love it, We praise you, We thank
-
you for the opportunity to be in your house. I
-
pray God, as the Holy Ghost has pool this portion
-
of scripture up and out of the Bible and presented
-
it before us, that we will get a hold of
-
what it is the Holy Ghost is pointing out to
-
us this day. May be a servant specific Lord for
-
our situation. To whomever the Holy Ghost is speaking to
-
which you help me set a guard up my mouth
-
and help me to say the things that you would
-
have me to say. Nothing more lessen on the ears
-
of this type people that they might hear what there's
-
the Spirit of God says or to the church this morning.
-
Let the sayings go below the shoulders, not just in
-
one ear and out to other. God, not in our
-
mind only, but in our spirits. Saturate our soul. Help
-
us to hear, really hear what the Spirit of God says,
-
and not to hear only, but to heed. We give
-
you the praise and honor the glory and Jesus' name
-
of the Church. Said hey, man, look at your neighbor,
-
and say, hey, neighbor, do you have some concerns? Again
-
pointing out that golden text that was given to us
-
by the Holy Ghost to present to you this morning
-
and to preach from. Also a thought that was confirmed
-
by a preacher of the Gospel, brother Kate road cap
-
There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that the
-
Spirit of God is speaking to somebody today. Matthew nineteen,
-
chapter number twenty seven then answered Peter and said it
-
to him, Behold, we have forsaken all and followed thee.
-
What shall we have? Therefore? Our text is found in
-
a New Testament book of the Holy Bible. The title
-
bears the name of its author. I believe this apostle
-
and disciple of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, had
-
considered the cost and consequences of following Jesus as our
-
Lord minister during his earthly ministry for a period of
-
three and a half years. Matthew, who are also called Levi,
-
would have had no regrets for making that quick decision
-
that eventful and faithful day that our Lord called him.
-
As he sat there and served the Roman government as
-
tax collector, the Lord Jesus, God incarnate, the Living Word himself,
-
approached this individual, addressed him and commissioned him again. God Incarnate,
-
the living, vibrant.
-
Abundant Word of God.
-
Approached this tax collector, addressed him and commission Matthew to
-
walk alongside of him on a day basis. The Lord
-
Jesus did not request the company of a.
-
Part time disciple.
-
Our Lord Jesus requested that Matthew feel a full time position.
-
Ha.
-
Many of you are thankful that you are a full
-
time Christian, that you served the Lord faithfully twenty four
-
hours of day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks
-
out of the year. And so the Lord requested his
-
presence and his servitude on a daily basis. Matthew did
-
exactly that. And I'm amazed that Matthew's decision making skills
-
get the.
-
Imagery with me.
-
He is busy working in a tax collector's booth, and
-
another Jew, because he himself was a Jew.
-
But this other Jew is a.
-
Stranger, and a stranger approaches him and charges him to
-
drop everything.
-
And follow him.
-
Notice his decision making skills and ability.
-
The Bible says immediately, not momentarily, not.
-
After a while, not after much prayer and contemplation, but
-
immediately Matthew realized this was the best path forward. I'm
-
sure when he was confronted with truth himself, he knew
-
that there was no need.
-
To collect additional information.
-
It was time to drop everything and follow Jesus. Of course,
-
he would have wondered what the future hell for one
-
who would dare do such a thing. He could testify today,
-
right now, in this moment, if.
-
We could approach him and ask the question was it
-
worth it?
-
He can testify and say, without any reservation, wholeheartedly, it.
-
Was so worth it. How many in this build in
-
this morning, by the.
-
Showing are the raising of a hand.
-
Can testify that the biggest and the greatest decision of
-
your life was that night you decided.
-
To follow Jesus.
-
I believe that Matthew, this apostle and disciple, would have
-
said this, no doubt it was the best decision and
-
the greatest decision of my life.
-
Sister Howl and I.
-
As well, we can testify and say the greatest thing
-
that we ever did do was when we took off
-
the old.
-
Coat and put on the news.
-
Whenever we quit serving the devil and begin to serve
-
in Jesus. This no doubt, we are who we are today,
-
even though that is not much. It is because of
-
the most important decision that we as believers have made
-
to make Jesus Christ.
-
Lord and Savior of our lives.
-
Oh yes, this people in this building that have made
-
the same decision.
-
Recently, Brother caleber.
-
Road Cap was testified in a service that he said,
-
I came to a cross road that at some point
-
in the last couple of years, I've made a decision
-
that this is my life, that I'm okay with my
-
life as a blood boat, born again, a holiness sacopied, set.
-
Apart, child of God. Oh yes, we have.
-
Made some other important decisions in our lifetime, some which
-
have impacted our help to Some have made poor decisions,
-
while others have made great decisions concerning their health to well, Philip.
-
Others have made investment choices and decisions that impacted their
-
families of the future. There are things that we must
-
face and decisions that we must make, and we must
-
consider the cost and the consequences of the investments, the surrenderings,
-
and the sacrifices of How many in this building today
-
will agree that our decision to give a life to Jesus.
-
Was the most important invest decision that we ever made.
-
It's nanimous.
-
Nobody in our company today could say it was a
-
bad decision.
-
Amongst those that chose to follow Jesus immediately, there was
-
only onarner of twelve that seemingly was not on.
-
Board her with the overall plan and vision of our Lord.
-
In That man's name was Judas.
-
But there were nothing others that were all born immediately.
-
When presented with the opportunity, they embraced.
-
It by the four locks and said, he this.
-
Is too good of a deal to lose.
-
It's too good of a deal to refuse her, and
-
I must take action immediately.
-
One philosopher sent.
-
That when opportunity presents itself, we must reach.
-
Out and granted by.
-
The four locksa before it passes us bye. There is
-
bible for that, that's on a biblical basis.
-
The Bible said we draw not of God, he draws
-
not of us.
-
It also says no man coming to the Father unless.
-
The Spirit to draw him of her. Preachers over the
-
year's tell how the Angel of the.
-
Lord trouble the waters at certain seasons concerning her the
-
proper time of ministry. Some answered immediately, and their ministry
-
was effective immediately because of their immediate obedience. Other pushed
-
it back, others prolonged.
-
I wonder how many people went to hell. I wonder
-
how many.
-
People got on the wrong way because somebody chose to
-
prolonger their diseasion or come on now than not that
-
we got seen our decision brought for the immediate benefits
-
and lessons. We were immediately the possessors of love and joy.
-
Peace and purpose.
-
There's no doubt the moment of Matthew's calling, he wondered,
-
what is in this for me? Since he was giving
-
up a great pen job, since he was giving.
-
Up being a must upper middle class, and perhaps going
-
to her end up without much. Oh, come on, that
-
doesn't seem like much to somebody.
-
That doesn't have her anything to sacrifice. But Peters said, hey,
-
some of us said, we left a lot. Some of us, said,
-
have persecu all that some of us are not like her,
-
and a nicense supplier attention. Some of us are not
-
looking for honor in that local assembly. Some of us
-
sa are without question. We were to give everything that
-
he requires of us.
-
Did somebody pray for me today? You see this man Matthew, no.
-
Doubt, because of his mindset, and because of his position
-
with the Roman government, because of his occupation and his title, and.
-
His favor with Rome, he would have contemplated it. But
-
think about it with me. He didn't take long to
-
reach him of decision. He was giving up a good job,
-
a great paying job.
-
I already said that he thought about the compensation for
-
the enormous sacrifice to be greater.
-
Then come on the reward of.
-
The sacrifice to be greater than those things that were
-
being given.
-
To him by the Roman government.
-
I think Matthew wasn't as outspoken about.
-
His as Peter was. Our going and.
-
Text shed some light on the thoughts and the mindset
-
of Peter. We know Peter as that vocal apostle and
-
our going in text Matthew nineteen and twenty seven, The
-
Bible said, then exwered Peter and said under him, behold,
-
we have forsaken all.
-
Do you seeing, Jesus, Do you see this fishing merchant
-
out there tether to the doctor. Do you see James
-
and John's days of and Eve out there? Men and
-
lets her?
-
Do you see her, the all inclusive sacrificer of myself?
-
We are prosaken all. Notice he did not forsake his wife.
-
Though he kept his wife the man, but he said
-
we are prosacn all, and followed to the Remember.
-
Jesus had warned them and said, I do not even
-
have a residence. I don't own a piece of land.
-
Him that created the world did.
-
Not even own a quarter acre lot.
-
There was no men of his son, primous head older,
-
There was no permanent resident seed. Jesus sept of Tona
-
from the very beginning for all of his disciples and
-
apostles and polers to understand, this world is only temporary
-
for the believer.
-
It is not our eternal, twiling place.
-
And Jesus was letting them know from the very beginning,
-
even though the earth is the lords and the fullness thereof,
-
he was letting them know, one day will be the.
-
Salter, the earth will melt her with a pair of heta, and.
-
You don't need to worry about the things from this world.
-
Oh come on now, I love the money.
-
Oh trees, their furn line here in the bell. But
-
one day they will be.
-
Mere power for the power and brimstone that runs her
-
out of the glory.
-
Word upon those.
-
A chooser willingly not to follow Jesus.
-
Can I tell ever a person they considered the contemplating
-
the all straight.
-
And the consequences auponlling Christ. You ought to think about
-
the alternative.
-
You ought to think about the reprecussion.
-
You ought to think.
-
About the actor Mappa of not choosing the Lord, of
-
not doing that what God told you to do.
-
Amen, listen, let me be clear, following Jesus as its
-
benefits and as tremendous rewards, as brother Caleb Broke Cap said,
-
And that statement is right here in my notes. But
-
I want you all to know also in my notes
-
as this statement, I don't serve him for the rewards.
-
For the benefits.
-
I don't serve him for the rewards for the benefits.
-
I don't abide in obedience with him as calling for
-
the blessings. But I do want you to know he
-
does daily load of obedience with benefits. Eighteen years ago.
-
When God sends us to Howell and I down here
-
on a mission. He commissioned me.
-
I was doing pretty good financially, in a pretty good
-
situation concerning an inheritance, and I mean, sister whooping.
-
It was all before me, but just a brid future.
-
It was just a matter of time and.
-
It would be mine. But when God present.
-
Me with an option and an opportunity, import.
-
To that, my earthly people.
-
Had decided for me. I do appreciate their plans for
-
my future. I do appreciate their provision.
-
As earthly fathers.
-
And mothers and grandpas and great uncles.
-
I do appreciate work opportunities and.
-
Job opportunities and all of that. They were only in
-
the scripture in their provision.
-
And provide for me.
-
I did not walk away from it because I didn't appreciate.
-
It of was ungrateful.
-
I did not walk away from it because they were
-
hard to get along with.
-
I walked away from whatever was there, and I do
-
say was there.
-
I walked away from.
-
Whatever was there because.
-
I saw the benefits of gold being God.
-
I knew that the bi pits of gold man.
-
God and the blessings of gold Man God were much.
-
Greater than any reward from any man. Can I tell
-
you that Matthew.
-
Could have got called up in a mindset that he
-
was climbing up the corporate ladder within the.
-
Empire of Rome.
-
But no, and Matthew did not get caught up climbing
-
on the rugs of.
-
The ladder of the Corporation of Roma.
-
But nother jesse.
-
He turned away from scaling up the corporate or the
-
governmental ladder, and he followed somebody.
-
Who seemingly had nothing to offer, who seemingly.
-
Had no retirement, have no benefit plan. Oh come on,
-
but if you'll look deeper, you will see the poor
-
work in the hospot. Reach to them, you will see
-
the finding eyes of For me, it up death years
-
of here and again the dead are being rayed letters
-
and a sick of hoy and hell.
-
I'm telling you look at.
-
The situation his spiritual life and not with natural life.
-
Somehow Matthew believe what he had heard. He believed what
-
he had seen. But more than that, he knew they.
-
Believed what he felt.
-
He knew believed and trusted what he felt in his soul,
-
in his heart. I served Jesus because I love him.
-
There was something about this man, many noted, and never
-
did a man speak like this man, Never did a
-
man do such actions as this man did. I serve
-
him for who he is. I serve him because I
-
love him. I'm sure every Christian and each child of
-
God has taught at least a about their future and
-
what awaits them in this life and the afterlife. In
-
First Corinthians two and nine it said, but as it
-
is written, I have not seen nor ear heard, neither
-
have it entered into the heart of man, the things
-
which God hath.
-
Prepared for them that love him.
-
I was praying about this verse of scripture and about
-
this message by the jesse and the Holy Ghost. He
-
promised the preachers that if we put it inside, he
-
would bring it to our remembrance.
-
And as I was pondering and praying.
-
About discernment, I went back to an encounter that Peter
-
had with the Master and brother Nathaniel. Jesus said, who
-
do they say that I am?
-
He went on to say, but who do you say
-
that I am?
-
And Peter said, thou art the Christ, the son of
-
the Living God. Was Jesus's response to Peter's answer, He said, Peter,
-
Blessing Blood hath not revealed this unto thee who was
-
the revelator who gave Peter that understanding and that revelation,
-
the Father, the Triune Godhead, was revealing to Peter just
-
exactly who it wasn't was standing there. And that's what
-
the Bible said in another place, it is the Lord
-
that worketh in you vote to wield and to do
-
of his good pleasure.
-
If there is a desire.
-
In your heart to do something for God, including serving him,
-
making ever your.
-
Personal savior, or make a strategic.
-
Moon for your future spiritually, or a strategic moon for
-
your future. Come on our strategic mood for your future.
-
I'm gonna say that again, our strategic move for your future.
-
Peter and Matthew, it is not Blessing Blood giving you
-
that relation.
-
Natural eye have not seen nor ear heard, neither.
-
Hasn't entered into the hat of man the things that God.
-
Has prepared for them.
-
Matthew and Peter couldnt see much with a natural life.
-
They could not hear it much with a natural ear.
-
What can the son of a carpenter add to the life.
-
A commercial fisher?
-
What can the son of a carpenter, add to the
-
life of a Roman Jewish tax collector. And only the
-
spirit them reveal that what I said.
-
Only the spirit can reveal that there are things that
-
are spiritually his arned.
-
You said, prea Church, I know I need to make
-
this move, Preacher. I know I need to make this step,
-
prea Church, I know I need to get out of here.
-
That's the same thing Moses can say, there's time to
-
get out of Egypt.
-
How do you know what is seen where was palace
-
is better?
-
But it doesn't please me.
-
To call Parros daughter Mama. I gotta go home with.
-
My people, I said, I got go. Who are my people?
-
I can hear it now, Matthew saying I've gotta go
-
with my people. That ain't you, Daddy. That's Jesus of Nazareth.
-
Can any good thing come out to Nazareth. I'm following
-
my people. I'm going with my people. I'm going with
-
my people. Peter Andrew Fishermen.
-
Jesus come on to the beach, walking down the beach,
-
not floor Shuns or steady Stacy Adams.
-
Free free all these people and saying those and flip
-
flops or perhaps bear feeding what's You're fascinated when they
-
can feed anyway scares me. Scares me. That's deep. I've
-
just messed a good message up, didn't I I can't
-
resist sometimes, brother, chill. Crazy people preaching against flip flop sandals.
-
Oh my god, in heaven they buy five hundred dollars
-
joust the Murphy shoes and then picked on somebody that
-
can only afford a ten dollar pair of sandals. If
-
you locked that kind of preachs, they keep preaching, preaching
-
otherwise we'll go to the house. But you know what, Matthew,
-
there was something about that man. He rolled out of
-
that high back chair and followed a man that could
-
promise him nothing, sister Howell, and a man that wasn't
-
going to promise him anything, a man that was going
-
to see her. You willing to follow me, no matter
-
the outcome. Are you willing to go with me, no
-
matter the end result? You know what Peter and Andrew did.
-
They abandon their commercial fishing business, James and Ziba, James
-
and John, the sons of Zebity who were off their
-
mending nets with her father. And when that man and
-
sandals come down to the beach, and he told them
-
follow me. You know what they said to Zebedee Dad,
-
I don't understand it.
-
I see with a natural eye of what you had
-
to offer out here, with a natural ear, your runners
-
and the oars banging the boats. I hear the flip
-
park flopping on the I hear the fish flopping on
-
the deck. I hear all of this.
-
I hear the bars by the fish. Oh, come on,
-
I hear the nets rattling on the deck. For this
-
man that's walking by commissioning us.
-
To follow him.
-
I've been involved with his ministry a little bit. I've
-
rubbed shoulders with him. You know, Andrew had been.
-
Running with John the Baptist.
-
Oh come on, now, there's just something about this man.
-
John said, he's the lamb of God. John said, watch him.
-
I spent a.
-
Lot tide watching fish. I spent a lot time watching
-
seeking nets. I spent a lifetime watching you loss nets.
-
Then I'm telling you there's something about this commission. I said,
-
there's something that about this calling Danna. I gotta get
-
off this mota. Then I gotta follow.
-
Off my God told me today.
-
We have told that God when it doesn't make sense
-
trying to row us.
-
One day for six years. What's not practical? Oh come on,
-
how do you go on? The mission field? Doesn't make sense.
-
Going off street ministries doesn't make sense.
-
Switching bouts doesn't make sense. Oh come on now, I
-
just feel.
-
Like the Holy goes prompted me to say this, sir,
-
is this place good.
-
For our family? He's this place good for our family?
-
A church.
-
These people can think about that. These people should think
-
about that. It's the place where I'm dwelling.
-
Good for my family. He's a good or for my son.
-
He's a good for not the honor?
-
Is it good?
-
Come on, he's it good for day.
-
He's a good from Gormam. He isn't good for grandpa.
-
If you cannot say this house of worship is.
-
Good to my children, oh and get us knock him
-
for you?
-
Anybody else?
-
Were?
-
No people were the real concerns. If Peter had and
-
Apollo Jesus when his mother.
-
In law was stricken with a fever and about to die,
-
there would have been no Jesus to walk in and
-
pray for his brother in law and her beaver recovered
-
of her illness. I'm telling you the benefits, the benefits.
-
What would you rather have? A burial or a blessing.
-
You want to have a commercial fishing business, or you
-
want to have a miracle worker walking alongside of here.
-
You want to have a few things of this world,
-
or you.
-
Want to have the maker of the world walking alongside
-
of you.
-
Do you want to have a net full officies that.
-
Are so full that they've begin to break, or have
-
the one that could command the fish and tell them
-
to get under that net and to wait there until
-
that net descends upon them.
-
Come on, now, I'm talking about to God that spoke
-
to or heard a school.
-
Officies and told them to get on the right side
-
of the ship. Tell somebody living this feeling us okay
-
to be a real person with a real toss horn.
-
Make a real season.
-
Can get all go and do what y'all told you
-
to do?
-
What's in it for me?
-
So ask while the others say what can I do
-
for him? Perhaps at this time Peter wasn't seeing the
-
purpose or the immediate result of his decision and his
-
choice when he asked him the question that's in our
-
Golden text. But a little further down the road, he
-
was assured of receiving heavenly rewards for his service, he
-
was blood bombed born again. A little ways up the road,
-
he understood why Jesus can't call him that day when
-
he stood in the upper room full of the Holy
-
Ghost and the powed God upon him, and this former
-
fisherman is preaching, and two or three thousand people are
-
getting saved.
-
Oh, come on, hundreds of thousands are getting saint. Divide
-
that holy ghost fielding. I want you to know, Peter,
-
God's got.
-
A neck that'speaker than your piece and neck.
-
Oh come on that God tolds you you don't have
-
to be a preacher. Oh they God, you don't have
-
to be a preacher. That for felo her great commission.
-
Sometimes God takes a money, is rough los her from
-
one location to enough.
-
God takes a prayramile on but one lotation.
-
Just not serious about getting myself with the kingdom and
-
moving to another.
-
Heaven up.
-
I'm telling you now, thro God.
-
Will take care o the tries to let your moons
-
that put you on a savandy dusty hole by a
-
missing for the key.
-
There's all fulfillment and pouring water on the hands of
-
the Messiah. They're pulling up wet nets of zebedee asked
-
John about that. I know John and James respect to
-
their father, there's no doubt about it. But there was
-
something about this man. Come here, brother Jesse. The Bible
-
said that John the Beloved and Keith is eger right
-
there by the bosom of Jesus. That's because every word
-
Jesus uttered, he wanted to catch it, every word Jesus spoke,
-
he wanted to hear it. He wanted to see everything
-
Jesus done. Amongst the twelve disciples, there were three that
-
always were closer than some. I need three men right
-
now to come over here. I've got one already, two more,
-
thank you for volunteering, brother Samuel, brother Nathaniel. And now
-
I need nine more men to line up in front
-
of them in front of this altar right here. Now,
-
if you'll look, there's nine men that's in front of
-
that altar. That represents nine of the disciples. Now all
-
of them men are disciples of Jesus, and I will
-
represent Jesus. I am, by no stretch of the imagination,
-
anywhere close to our Savior. But for an illustration and
-
a demonstration, we will do this. But there were twelve followers,
-
and for some reason there were nine that always.
-
Just kind of lagged behind just a little bit.
-
And as you study the gospels, the Synoptic Gospels, which
-
is Matthew Mark and Loop's Gospel, you will see they're
-
very similar in writing style, very similar in incidences evidence,
-
and just similar in their reportings. But one's gospel is
-
a little bit different. I want y'all to know there's
-
a reason for that. There was an intimacy with John
-
concerning Jesus. There was an extra closeness at one particular time,
-
brother staring to we find Judas's gone, Brother Joshua will
-
move away. And there are eight disciples hanging out at
-
the gate near town. They're late for church, and that
-
they're late to do what God has commissioned them to do.
-
It's time to go pray. But there's three Peter, James,
-
and John that are close to Jesus. As Jesus moves,
-
they seem to stay closer. But among those three there's
-
one John that he just keeps getting closer. He keeps
-
getting closer. If Jesus is now down to pray, there
-
is no doubt John is within earshot. If Jesus is
-
performing a miracle, John is right there within earshot, Hey,
-
come on us, John the revelator.
-
No Jesus was. But Jesus spoke.
-
To John and gave him the revelation a revelation or
-
what wasn't that?
-
John said, he that happed here? Let him here of
-
what the spirit tells me over Sometimes just because you're
-
closer doesn't mean you're really hearing.
-
Who is need to be said? Who want needs to
-
be hard?
-
Thank your brethren, Thank your brethren. Should I keep preaching?
-
But brother John, Brother John, he leaned up on the
-
bosom of Jesus. Hey, so what if they fought you
-
for trying to get closer? So what if they fought
-
you for trying to get answers to questions that you
-
aren't getting answers to? So what if they follot you
-
for being a real person with real concerns. No, ma'am,
-
no sir, I am not gonna twelve in a halfway
-
house spiritually, No, ma'am, no sir. When I was raising
-
my children, I were careful. I was very careful where
-
I took them to church, where I set them down
-
upon the pew, I was real careful, very careful, had
-
great concern as to who was preaching to them, who
-
was praying for them, who was annoying them with all,
-
who was praying the seemingly prayer of faith for them.
-
I'm come. I don't want to hold you too long
-
this morning. I want to get you out of here
-
in a little wall. But do y'all hearing what the
-
spirit of God has said unto the church. I appreciate
-
you being a real person. I appreciate you having real concerns.
-
But sometimes we need to take action and meeting me.
-
I heard of a family at one time tarrying too long.
-
They tarried too long until their teenage son fell in
-
love with that closeted floozy girl that went to church.
-
Right.
-
They knew they needed to make a move before a
-
spirit got their child. But what they didn't know they
-
needed to make a move before the cause of efflusing
-
got their child. Any time God's calling comes forth, there's
-
blessings and benefits to gain. But there's also a reason
-
for that. It is to shield you and to protect
-
you from something tending, something forthcoming. Lot is an example.
-
Fire and brimstone is about to fall out of heaven
-
upon a certain geographic location judgment. Perhaps spiritually speaking, it
-
could be strong delusion. They could begin to believe a
-
line beat down, a spirit of confusion is about to
-
come in. And so as Jesus went to tell Abraham, Abraham,
-
I don't want to withhold from you what I'm about
-
to do. And so I'm speaking to you about judgment
-
concerning a certain group of people living in a certain
-
city up the road, and I want you to pray
-
for them. And no matter how hard Abraham prayed, and
-
no matter how heart how hard he bargained, no matter
-
the efforts he applied to that situation and put forth,
-
he was unable to broker a deal between him and Heaven,
-
and it could not be saved. I'm sorry to report
-
to you that some churches cannot be salvaged. I'm sorry
-
to report to you that some families cannot be salvage.
-
The reason why they cannot be salvaged is not that
-
the mercy of God is not new every morning. It's
-
not that the abundant grace of God is not attainable
-
and available. It is that they have no intention whatsoever
-
in embracing the opportunity for restoration, renewal, and revival. Why
-
would they, Because they don't even embrace the opportunity for repentance.
-
If my people God acknowledges their identity and who they were,
-
If my people, which are called by my name, will
-
humble themself, and it's conditional, if they will turn from
-
their wickedness, their wicked ways, their wickedness, then I will hear.
-
Only then will I hear, And after I hear their
-
prayer of repentance, after I see their sincerity and their humility,
-
then I will heal their land. It's conditional. Well, I
-
could sit right here. I've been right here for twenty
-
five years. That's what that dear sweet sister told sister
-
how when we went to talk to her, the spirit
-
of God had moved on me to go speak to her.
-
That was unusual, that was out of the ordinary for me.
-
And I went and spoke to her, and I said,
-
for some reason, God has saved to you. Come out
-
from among them and be separate, saith, the Lord touch
-
not the unclean thing, and then I will receive you.
-
I said. The message is clear, you're not the unclean thing,
-
and you're not of them. The message is clear, you
-
are not of them, you are different. So come out
-
from them. The apostle explaining the situation concerning some that
-
left the church. He said they went out from us
-
because they were not of us. On the flip side
-
of that, that's exactly right. That's what God is telling
-
the children of Israel. You come out of Egypt, you're
-
not of him, the same way the sinner comes out
-
of the world. He should not be of that spirit.
-
The same way people say, I've got to find a
-
new pastor, a new church, a new family, a new organization.
-
The Baptist Movement's not cutting it for me. I gotta
-
be Pentecostal. I've got to believe in sanctification. That's for me.
-
I've got to hold a hole in a standard. I'm
-
being called out. And you know what, when people are
-
in pursuit of a higher calling and sanctification and truth
-
and righteousness, you know what they're saying. They're saying they
-
were not of us. They believed in talking in tongues,
-
they believed in a hole in a standard. Inwardly and outwardly,
-
they were not of us. But I want you to
-
know the world has a statement and expression that goes
-
like this, if you run with the dogs, you'll get
-
the fleas. And that dear sister, after some time, Brother
-
starre it. On a Sunday afternoon, Sister how and I
-
went into a Captain Dees. We never went into that
-
business establishment. We never went to that place of business
-
on a Sunday afternoon, but that particular Sunday, I felt
-
like I was on a mission. We went in there
-
and sat down and ordered that old greasy fish, all
-
the greasy crispy stuff, Coach Law, flush puppies. I'm sorry people,
-
we lost our old John Silvers. We used to have
-
one of the bell We didn't support it. I wish
-
we had. We'd all beating there right now at the church.
-
But you know what, I looked over there, and I said, Sister.
-
Howell, oh me, oh my, there she is no longer
-
resembling a holiness woman.
-
I'm talking about. She lost out with God when she
-
was in her eighties. After all of them years, Sister
-
Wooton a standing up and testifying in the Pirate God,
-
all that God, all of them years of her testimony,
-
is preaking my heart and challenging me to be like her,
-
all of them years of pouring into us young ones,
-
that holiness is right, separation from the world is right,
-
and there's a difference in the genuine and the counterfeit.
-
She would say.
-
I looked she was still in the same church.
-
She was still declining molty and faithfulness and commitment.
-
That's one of the first members.
-
I've been here for so long.
-
How could I leave it? How could I bend it?
-
Because in staying there you lose Jesus.
-
If I gave the.
-
Whole world and lose my own sorrows, Matthew somehow me
-
that day.
-
If I don't follow Jesus.
-
I'll never be the one to open the bed in
-
the New Testament with the rig word.
-
I'd never been the one that opened the mail.
-
To the New Covenant through the ric word. God, you
-
realized Matthew's gospel. He's the first.
-
Book of the New Testament for the New Covenant, aren't
-
you gladly?
-
Oh? Thank God? Don't you know that God got some
-
plans for you?
-
Don't you know that beautiful plans, not too perfect? Your
-
future apostle upon you. God has plans for me. And
-
his testimony always included this statement, I was obedient to the.
-
Heaven and cold.
-
And when I was on that road to Damascus, when
-
that light.
-
Rather than the new day sun up here another there
-
and the loss of eye. Lad came out of the
-
corners of Dorning. I was obedient.
-
When he's that soft soul.
-
Light persecutors down me. It's hard to kick against the pricks.
-
I was obedient.
-
I got off my high horse.
-
I ended up in that dusky, ended up blinding.
-
Handed up in the man of God's house.
-
I ended up passed up for three days and three nights.
-
But when you got done with me, things were better.
-
All things have passed away, the old, the whole things
-
have we come near.
-
I'll tell us somebody right now, right now, in the.
-
Name of Jesus, up the new and spirits her. He's
-
gonna be better than the old. Peter, Matthew, James, John Paul.
-
Let us not be weary, and we'll do it for
-
indue season. We shall reap if we faint. Not what's
-
in it for me? Somebody might have asked real people
-
with real concerns. I appreciate that, don't you. I appreciate that,
-
brother Nathaniel. But as it is written, I had not
-
seen nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the
-
heart of man the things which God had prepared for
-
those that love him. You know why they're not seeing it.
-
You know why they're not hearing it. You know why
-
they're not feeling it, not only because it's spiritual, but
-
because they don't love him like you love him. You
-
love him unconditionally, no matter the end result, no matter
-
the outcome, I will go with Jesus. A verse of
-
people often overlooked. This was brought to mind in prayer
-
as the following verse Verse Corinthians two and ten. They said,
-
but God hath revealed them unto us by his spirit.
-
So why are you feeling what you're feeling? Why are
-
you feeling the need to change? Why are you feeling
-
the need to take action? Why are you feeling the
-
need to make a move? Why did Moses and the
-
children of Issual suddenly after four hundred and some years
-
feel the need to make a move. Why do you
-
feel the need for a career change. Why do you
-
feel the need for a geographic location? Said? Why do
-
you feel the need to do something more? Does this
-
make it soon?
-
Well?
-
Can't I serve God right where I'm at? Be an example?
-
Right where I'm at? Maybe maybe not, but I know
-
there's a reason for it. Why you have been called
-
and I know there's a reason for why you have
-
been chosen, and I believe for as much as you're
-
going to receive a benefit and a reward, also, it's
-
for your protection. It's for your verying life. Run to
-
the mountain because it's for your life. Don't run to
-
the mountain physically or naturally, run to the mountain spiritually.
-
You want to be in a place where you can
-
get in them high places in Christ Jesus, Brother rope Cap,
-
that must be the experience of Matthew. That must be
-
the experience of Paul. That must be the experience of Peter.
-
But God has revealed them unto us by his spirit.
-
That must be the experience of Jeremy and Charity. Go
-
to Label, Florida eighteen years ago. That must be the experience.
-
So Justin and Cathy rope Cap go to Lo bel
-
Florida eight years ago. That must be the experience. It's
-
just the Irish woot. And hey, that preacher you just
-
heard preaching on the street, Go inquire and find out
-
who he's at and go to church there. On that
-
day when the Lord appeared to Matthew, the creator of
-
the world is before him, and the Creator is transformed
-
as a mortal being, and Matthew's natural eyes are on
-
this man. His natural ears are tuned into this man.
-
But he learned something more about this man than what
-
eyes could see or what ears could hear. His soul's eyes,
-
his soul's ears heard what the spirit said unto him,
-
and Matthew embraced this opportunity before him. He understood that
-
the situation would lead him into deeper things of God.
-
I'll never forget that night descending. Neely stood up. It's
-
been about two and a half months ago, and she said,
-
since I've been here. At that time, it had been
-
about six months. She said, since I've been here, I'm
-
amazed at how much I've grown. That's not saying anything
-
about the ministry of Jeremy, how old I've already said
-
it a little while ago. I'm a worm, I'm ana flee,
-
I'm nothing, just a vessel in the hand of the Master.
-
But it says a lot about the ministry of the
-
Holy Ghost operating in this building, including the way the
-
Holy Ghost is using the Word of God this morning
-
to speak to people. That Paul said, I was obedient
-
to the heaven and called him immediately. At that point,
-
I no longer pushed it away. I no longer kicked
-
against the prince.
-
I took action the same thing with Matthew when he
-
jumped up out of that tax collector seat and he
-
fallowed Jesus, are.
-
Y'all with pastor right now, Abelity feeling I'm preaching just
-
a little bit longer.
-
Matthew's obedience of embracing truth and the will and the
-
command of God led him into deeper things of God,
-
including giving us the gospel that I'm preaching out of
-
disappointing all the ministry of Matthew.
-
Without obedience to the commission and.
-
The will of God, you will have no purpose, and
-
you will have no identity, and you will have no mission.
-
All the ministry of Matthew. He would have disappeared off
-
the pages of.
-
Roman history, but he has not disappeared from the pages
-
of the Bible.
-
I'm telling you, if you stay out there in this
-
word center cred, you'll be a die of a dozen,
-
just one of the masters. You went without an identity.
-
Oh come on now.
-
But if you are identified as a child of God,
-
you can say He daily loadeth me with benefits.
-
I have equal shares of heaven.
-
With Jesus joint ownership forever.
-
Heaven.
-
Heaven.
-
Heaven won't always be a dream. Someday it'll be a reality.
-
As a writer, Matthew opened the door of the New
-
Testament and a new covenant. In the Old Testament. He
-
had read of Christophanes brief appearances of Jesus appear into
-
Old Testament biblical characters. But sister, how when he minded
-
the spirit Jesus Christ that day the Lord called him,
-
he no longer had to think about the Spirit of
-
God moving on prophets, judges, and objects. He realized that
-
this what I'm talking to may have moved upon Samson
-
and calls him to carry away great gains of the Philistines. Amen,
-
you felt it, brother, would Matthew understood a lot about scripture.
-
He knew that the spirit of God had moved on
-
Elijah and fire had fallen out of heaven. He knew
-
that the spirit of God had moved upon Jeremiah and
-
put the word of God in Jeremiah's heart till his
-
heart burned like fire with the words of God. But
-
now he understands the Living Word is standing right here
-
in front of me. Opportunity is here. I'm not gonna
-
let it pass me by. But what he realizes is
-
the closing of the Old Testament when he moved on
-
you is the opening of the New Testament when he
-
lived in side. I'm no longer thrilled by the appearance
-
of the Christophanies as the local brothers. Now I'm thrilled
-
by the fact that he lives. He lives. Christ Jesus
-
lives today. He walks with me, and he talks with
-
me a long life's narrow way. He lives. He lives.
-
Salvation two in part. You ask me why I know
-
he lives, Because he lives. He lives in my work.
-
Let's stand, friend, right now, in this moment, Jesus is
-
standing before you and presented you with a decision. Later on, Matthew, Peter, James,
-
and John could say that the Holy Ghost lived inside
-
of them. Friend, that you ask what's in it for me?
-
What shall we have? Therefore, they had forsaken all to
-
follow Jesus. Sister Howell, Matthew, Peter, Andrew, James and John
-
and Paul had given up a lot in order to
-
follow Jesus. The sacrifice was great. Truthfully, to be honest,
-
not everyone has given up things of great value to
-
follow Jesus. Some, when he came to them, they had nothing.
-
Some were at the end of their rope, Some were
-
begging bread. Some had no houses, Some had no commercial
-
fishing boats or businesses. Some were totally beaten, broken and battered.
-
And he came to them. And I'm glad he did.
-
But the truth is, a wise man such as Peter
-
was being a real person with a real concern when
-
he said, what shall we have there? For? Will we
-
be compensated? Since to how I was reminded of your
-
words about a year ago. You said to some people
-
that had made an all inclusive sacrifice of a decision,
-
who was struggling because of sin, whether or not they
-
were in the will of God, you said, have you
-
not been compensated? I will never forget for as long
-
as I live. That night, our first lady stood right
-
here at the end of the piano, and she said,
-
has he not compensated you? Has he not been better
-
to you than you've been to him? Has he not
-
given you more than you deserve? I don't know about y'all.
-
I don't deserve anything I deserve. Hell, I serve him
-
just because I love him. I choose to obey him
-
because I love him and pleasing him is what matters.
-
There's many brother Rouat, though their sacrifices have been few
-
and minimal, while Paul and Peters were great and large.
-
It's easier said than done. My example, in closing, as
-
the rich young ruler, well beloved, well favored, great delight,
-
greatly rich, extremely wealthy, a wonderful personality. He came to
-
Jesus and could have been a thirteenth disciple brother Royd.
-
Jesus gave him a call of beautiful commission. Give everything
-
that you have, big boy, right, everything you have, big boy,
-
and followed me trading him for a shining for some sandels,
-
trading that royal steady out there for a donkey, trade
-
that Cadillac for something cheap and good on gas. To
-
put it in today's terms. And you know what the
-
Bible said, That rich young ruler went away sorrowfully. I
-
want you to know he may have regretted his decision
-
the moment he turned his back on that opportunity. But
-
sister Howe, I have a feeling he lost everything anyway.
-
I have a feeling he was haunted in his mind
-
for the rest of his life, his story, and say
-
that Pileod lived the rest of his life haunted by
-
the thought of the blood of Jesus being on his hands.
-
They said he could be seen at times standing in
-
the corner of a palace somewhere and rubbing his hands
-
and going to wash basins. And they say they could
-
be heard uttering, I had nothing to do with it.
-
I had nothing to do with it. I had nothing
-
to do with it. I made that clear. Yes, he
-
did have something to do with it. And you have
-
something to do with this decision. It's a personal calling.
-
It's a personal decision. And you better look around and
-
see your family, them children, them grandchildren. Oh, come on now,
-
it doesn't matter if the sacrifices are great or minimal.
-
To be clear, seemingly, on the surface, there were no rewards.
-
A decision to be with Jesus did not offer much
-
with sister Howell, Oh, what was below the surface.
-
In him as.
-
Fullness of life in him, His abundant life in him
-
is great joy in him is incomprehensible peace. And what
-
I want to point out we are missing seven to
-
ten this morning. There's still seventy two. Though I'm glad
-
to be part of the family of God. I want
-
you to look around right now and look and see
-
the beautiful family, Brother Jesse, what was more commonly for
-
Matthew to behold Peter outspoken, vocal Peter or Roman governor.
-
It's a beautiful place where the spirit of God moves,
-
or where the spirit of God works, where the Spirit
-
of God blesses. It's a board of a beautiful thing.
-
It's a beautiful place with beautiful people. Matthew gained Christ, yes,
-
but he also benefited by having a friend in Peter.
-
Having a friend in Peter was better than a filp,
-
the Roman pig being your friend. Sisters, sometime today look
-
at Sister Howell and realize having her for a friend
-
is a blessing. When you all were praying for Sister
-
how and I earlier in the service, while the Holy
-
Ghost was moving, my friend, brother Chip Boy got up
-
on the platform and was looking at me and praying
-
for me. That's not his custom. His custom is to
-
stand back there, pray, stay in his place, and must
-
called on God's vote to me and said, your friend
-
loves you, and your friend is concerned about you and
-
your wife. That's why he's standing there where he can
-
see you, and he wants to get to you because
-
he cares and he's concerned. And as sure as I live,
-
the God of Heaven, Brother Chip, you remember this. He
-
spoke to me and he said that man right there
-
loves you for who you are, not for what you
-
got right and God said, have Chip pray for you
-
and your wife. And at a respect, he didn't want
-
to touch my wife. He had his hands about eight
-
inches over her head praying for it. He put his
-
hand on my head. I repositioned it, gets your hand
-
on my head, and couple of brothers y. He had
-
his hand about six eight inches over my wife's head.
-
I took his hand and said, pray for you. Put
-
your hand on her head. It's proper. It's appropriate to
-
your preacher, and pray for my wife because the Bible
-
said a friend loveth at all times, and a brother
-
is born for adversity. And I'll tell you the truth.
-
I felt the holyst in a great play the same
-
way I felt when he was preaching that night, a
-
topic most will not address. And if you have not
-
recognized that God is moving right now, I'm glad I
-
traded drama and trouble for a house of friends. I'm
-
glad I traded a house and a life of termil
-
and perplexities for a house of peace and joy and rest.
-
Somebody said, can it get any better for me? I
-
want brother Jesse and Brother Nathaniel to come around and
-
saying it just don't believe any better than us. Somebody
-
said it's too good to be true. No it's not.
-
I want you to know it's been sweet around here,
-
brother Samuel. But i' I was praying concerning this morning's message,
-
and God spoke to me, and he said it's gonna
-
get sweeter. And here's what he said. Some will partake,
-
and some will know how sweet it is, and others
-
will not ever know just how sweet it was. Just
-
when we thoughts as to how the rewards for the
-
sacrifices could be any better, God daily loads us for
-
more benefits. We find out yesterday I don't have another
-
grand baby. Sister Tracy finds out this morning early she's
-
gonna be and Nanna again. Daily, Come here, Ran of God.
-
Did you not say this before? I preach I don't
-
serve him for the benefits, But you said there are benefits? Right?
-
Go sing? What the day it says to be like
-
you can hear from God. I want us to just
-
gather up here if you want to kneel, and you
-
can kneel, I'm telling you. Matthew, Peter, James and John
-
