  1. I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

  2. I'd rather be with Jesus.

  3. I'd rather be with Jesus.

  4. Brother Nathaniel acts chapter number fifteen and verse number thirty eight.

  5. Listen carefully, but Paul thought.

  6. Not good to take him with them, who departed from

  7. them from Pamphilia and went not with them to the work.

  8. Did y'all listen to that word with in that verse

  9. of scripture that Brother Nathaniel just read to us. The

  10. Apostle Paul did not feel it to be a good

  11. idea to bring John Mark with him. Apostle Paul did

  12. not want John Mark with him. Aren't you thankful this

  13. morning that God is in our midst and that God

  14. is with the two or three that are gathered together

  15. with the Apostle Paul had no desire whatsoever for John

  16. Mark to be with them.

  17. Do you know why?

  18. Because John would rather be in Jerusalem with his mother.

  19. He would rather be in Jerusalem with his mother. I'd

  20. rather be with Jesus. Look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor,

  21. I'd rather be with Jesus. That's not an insult. I

  22. feel like every child of God in this building is

  23. blessed to be in the company of whom you're in

  24. company with. But it's good for you to be able

  25. to say, I'd rather be with Jesus. If given the choice,

  26. I'd rather be with the Lord. Brother Jesse Ruth chapter

  27. number one, Verses number sixteen and seventeen.

  28. And Ruth said, entreat me not to leave thee or

  29. to return from following after THEE. For whether thou goest,

  30. I will go, And where thou lodgest.

  31. I will lodge.

  32. Thy people shall be my people, and thy God, my God.

  33. Where thou diest will I die? And there will I

  34. be buried? The Lord do so to me. And more also,

  35. if aught but.

  36. Death part THEE and me.

  37. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Ruth

  38. would have liked to have went home on a temporary

  39. basis before Naomi set out for the Land of Bread.

  40. But she would rather be with Naomi.

  41. Okay, Naomi, if you're leaving and we must make haste,

  42. then we must go. I'd rather be with Naomi. And

  43. John Mark could rather be with Mama.

  44. Praise the Lord.

  45. Let's stand Mark Chapter number five, verse number eighteen. The

  46. Bible said, and when he was come into the ship.

  47. He that had been possessed with the devil, prayed him

  48. that he might be with him, prayed him that he

  49. might be with him. The formerly demonically possessed individual desire

  50. to be with the Lord. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we

  51. thank you, We praise you for this people. We thank

  52. you for fohfc if I we thank you that this

  53. is our tenth anniversary. We pray that you would bless

  54. each and everyone as we prepare, bless those that are

  55. making their way here. We pray this morning that you

  56. would help us deliver this message that you have put

  57. on our heart.

  58. I pray you would.

  59. Anoint the lips of this thy servant, set of guard

  60. at my mouth, and help me to say the things

  61. you would have me to say, nothing more or less,

  62. and not the ears of this thy people, that they

  63. might hear what the Spirit.

  64. Of God says unto the church today.

  65. Let these sayings go below the shoulders, Let them saturate

  66. the spirit, the heart, the soul.

  67. We pray help us to be hearers. Lord and doers.

  68. We give you.

  69. Praise and honor and glory in Jesus' name. And the

  70. church said, Amen, and may we depart this place. Joyfully

  71. and not sorrowfully again a message the Holy Ghost titled

  72. I'd Rather be with Jesus our textas found in a

  73. New Testament book.

  74. Of the whole Bible.

  75. The Gospel according to Mark is in fact one of

  76. the four Gospels. The Bible readers and the Bible students

  77. alike here in this building this morning can tell you

  78. that there are some wonderful things written about the Lord

  79. and Savior Jesus Christ in this gospel.

  80. I want to.

  81. Point out to you the contrary to the belief and

  82. the understanding of many, Mark was not one of the disciples. Again,

  83. Mark was not one of the disciples, and yet he

  84. penned this gospel.

  85. The same can be said for.

  86. The writer of the fourth Gospel, Luke, the Beloved Physician,

  87. was not one that was handpicked, especially chosen for ministry

  88. by the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Neither one of

  89. these authors of these two gospels were men that walked hand.

  90. In hand or shoulder to shoulder with Jesus.

  91. But these men, obviously and evident had some sort of

  92. unique experience in Jesus that compelled them to follow Jesus.

  93. Concerning the miraculous happenings and instances involved in his ministry.

  94. These men became persuaded to be intimately involved with Jesus.

  95. And aren't you thankful that they put pen to parchment

  96. and gave us these sacred writings.

  97. But when you.

  98. Think of this particular man here, John Mark, you think

  99. of somebody who's past was blacked. He had a black

  100. cloud over him because he was a mama's boy. And

  101. he was such a mama's boy that whenever he embarked

  102. on a missionary trip with the great Apostle Paul and

  103. perhaps his uncle Barnabas, at some point he became a

  104. home sin brother Nathaniel. As you follow to follow the

  105. books of the Acts, and you read the writings of Luke,

  106. the beloved Physician as recorded by him, you can tell

  107. that the Apostle Paul noticed that as long as everything

  108. was going well, John Mark was glad to be there.

  109. But as soon as they got him to the company

  110. of strange people in a strange land, and as they

  111. set forth and to go into a different direction, John

  112. Mark decided, I'm not comfortable with the arrangements, and so

  113. he abandoned his assignment, and Apostle Paul took great offense

  114. to this, And you will recall the writings of the

  115. apostle paul. In one of the Pauline epistles, he spoke

  116. of the ministers of God being faithful. There's another writing

  117. that says it is required in stewarts that a man

  118. be found faithful. There's another writing that said he counted

  119. us faithful by putting a us into the ministry. So

  120. evidently John of Mark's entrance into the ministry was premature.

  121. Could it have been because of John Mark's mother's relationship

  122. with the apostles, those men that did rub shoulders with

  123. Jesus Christ. You will remember during the imprisonment of Peter,

  124. it was at Mark's mother's house where the saints of

  125. God gathered together and they prayed the glory down until

  126. an intercessory angel went to the prison house and released

  127. a prison of Peter of his bonds. You find this

  128. man used his connections in order to get into a

  129. situation that most people would have desired to have been in.

  130. I know that Brother Nathaniel, myself and brother stare it.

  131. We would have been on board, and we would have

  132. loved to have embraced an opportunity to travel with the

  133. lights of the Apostle and Apostle Paul. Imagine for a

  134. moment how it must have felt to have been the

  135. assistant to Uncle Barnabas and the great Apostle Paul. This

  136. man was traveling with two very notable men within Christendom,

  137. founding fathers, men that no doubt possessed the spirit of

  138. Christ and the Anointed of God. You're talking about a

  139. given spirit. According to scription, there was no giver like

  140. that of Barnabas, and so he sold all of them possessions.

  141. And he brought the sum of the money that he

  142. received after the sale and that transaction, and he laid

  143. it at the Apostle's feet. This is the caliber of

  144. a man that this young man is traveling with. Again,

  145. if I read the Bible, and I read it with

  146. an open mind, I believe Barnabas is the uncle of

  147. John Mark. Can I tell you here this morning that

  148. it does not matter who your special connection is in

  149. the House of God.

  150. Which you rather be with Jesus.

  151. You come here this morning because you want to be

  152. with Pastor Howell, with these elders, these men and women

  153. that possess the spirit of David and Debor these prophesied

  154. saints of God that proclaim and preach the whole counsel

  155. of God.

  156. You love to save. I dwell in.

  157. The midst of people of this caliper and capacity.

  158. But do you really have a relationship with the Lord?

  159. When I think of some of these elder saints in

  160. this building this morning, I think of people that if

  161. Jesus Christ was to walk into this building and interrupt

  162. Pastor Howell, and he would be welcome to do so.

  163. This is evident in the fact that the Holy Ghost.

  164. Is welcome to interrupt or disrupt our services and to

  165. put us in alignment.

  166. With his will.

  167. But if Jesus was to walk in in this building

  168. this morning, there would be some in this building that

  169. would rather be with Jesus than with the people inside.

  170. Of these four walls. There's no reason at.

  171. All whatsoever for why we could fault them for such a.

  172. Desire as this.

  173. I'm sure as they turned loose from the dock, and

  174. as they sat sound by the Jesset, and as they

  175. embarked on this voyage, it must have been a wonderful

  176. feeling for.

  177. John Mark to realize I am on board.

  178. I have begun this missionary triple with these great people

  179. of God that I feel like his priorities were not right,

  180. and he really had no desire whatsoever personally to be

  181. with Jesus on this journey. How many are you if

  182. you are thankful this morning that you have Jesus along

  183. for the rest on this journey. I've heard people say

  184. before that Jesus is the code pilot, and I've heard

  185. people retort with these words, Honey, he is not my

  186. code pilot. Jesus is the pilot on board of this vessel.

  187. And so this man's fascination soon.

  188. Came to a screeching halt whenever he realized we may

  189. face things that I did not anticipate. We may go

  190. through some things, including the possibility of almost losing our life.

  191. I did not factor this into the equation of ministry

  192. praise the Lord. So I'm sure it was an amazing experience.

  193. But for different reasons, John Mark decided to abort the

  194. mission and the assignment, and ultimately he abandoned the friendship

  195. of the Great Apostle Paul and left.

  196. To barn Us up in his way.

  197. At that time, Paul felt that John Mark's unfaithfulness and

  198. lack of dedication that put him to the side for ministry.

  199. Apostle Paul did not feel that that young man should

  200. even be considered.

  201. For another mission trip.

  202. Brother Nathaniel the Apostle Paul felt that John Mark was unfitted,

  203. in an Apostle Paul's words, unprofitable for the ministry and

  204. missionary as service.

  205. How about you this morning, young person?

  206. Are you unfit and unprofitable for the service today? Or

  207. for the beth of hole in his church family, or

  208. for the king and for the kingdom. While I was away,

  209. Brother Samuel Howell preached a message that was a blessing

  210. to my soul.

  211. And the so many others.

  212. He preached a message title from a bother to a brother.

  213. This young man had definitely been a.

  214. Bother to the Apostle Paul, he's unfit.

  215. For missionary service.

  216. But because of the incestic training of Barnabas, he became

  217. a profitable man to the ministry, and he was no

  218. longer a bother. He was a brother. There was something

  219. inside of John Barker that should not have been there.

  220. His parties were missouliined, come on, now, I don't know

  221. where you're at mentally right now. You may be in

  222. line with the baptist at the buffet.

  223. Your stomach may be growling as miney is.

  224. I don't know where John Mark's mine was when he

  225. was afford the vesselman or when they were traveling on land.

  226. But Brother Nathanuel, it seems to me like him. He

  227. longed to be with friends and a family. He enjoyed

  228. being away for a few days, like brother you. Mine

  229. Jesse did recently, like brother Cheermne. Brother Jesse did a

  230. recently when they embarked on that vessel and took up

  231. a few days cruise. The sister Howell, whenever I read

  232. about John Mark, I see somebody unwilling to make an

  233. all inclusive sacrifice of for ministry. He didn't enjoy being

  234. in strange places amongst strange people, and he went back home.

  235. I'll never forget that particular night when brother Jesse messaged

  236. me after two or three days of touring here and

  237. there and cruising in the Caribbean Sea.

  238. Brother Jesse had a look in his eyes as.

  239. He spoke to me in that video chat up, and

  240. he said, I'm ready to be home. I'm ready to

  241. be with my family. I'm ready to be with my children.

  242. I'm ready to be with my mother and with my father,

  243. and with my church people. He set being gold for

  244. a few days was definitely a benefit the sister hand

  245. of and I was a blessing to us that we're

  246. ready to get home better Jesse. I wonder if that

  247. was the mindset and the mentality.

  248. Of John Mark when he got on board the vessel.

  249. He was just thinking of taking a little trip, perhaps

  250. a little cruise.

  251. Or a little ride. That sounds like a lot of

  252. people today, doesn't it. They get up out of their

  253. pew and they walk to the altar they.

  254. Made or may not, kneel down, and.

  255. They cry what appears to be crocodile tears, and they say,

  256. I'm sorry for getting called, I'm sorry for pure a conviction,

  257. I'm sorry for filling condemnation. But they're not at all

  258. interested in a daily walk with you, Jesus.

  259. They're not interested in being with Jesus.

  260. You can tell that by Sunday night, when the Saints

  261. gathered together at six pm, all of the Saints of

  262. God expectum let new born Christian to walk.

  263. In with the Bible they fought from dollar General talk

  264. to under their arm.

  265. They expect them to be full of joy, theyin't glad

  266. to be a symbol together with people of like precious faith.

  267. But as the saints worship.

  268. And look for the glass door to swing open, it

  269. never moves. No, it doesn't even move a corner of

  270. an inch, and it falls that person. They wanted a

  271. little relief, but they didn't want a relationship.

  272. I said, that's what.

  273. A lot of people are telling us here today. They

  274. like the reliefer, but they don't want the relationship.

  275. Or come on now, when.

  276. I got in of this thing called Christianity and gave

  277. my heart that Jesus, I wasn't looking for a cruiser.

  278. I wasn't looking for two the three day journey. It's

  279. a lifetime commitment, I said, it's a lifetime commitment. There's

  280. people in this building you've had a hard time over

  281. the years understanding you don't just throw yourself to anything

  282. and everything that pays you a little attention. It's because

  283. you never considered that the commitment. There's a lot of

  284. little Susies that ended up popping out to them with

  285. little babies in their belly because they didn't ask the

  286. guy where his heart was.

  287. And they were not interested.

  288. And considering a commitment I'm preaching to.

  289. You right here this morning. Would rather be with Jesus.

  290. I'm telling you there's people that they do things they

  291. think they ought to, but they're not faithful. They're not

  292. committed to loyalty, they're not dedicated to service. They backside

  293. after three months of being a.

  294. Child of God.

  295. They seek again the weakome and burger the elements of

  296. the world.

  297. They're still fascinated by the world.

  298. The spirit of Dona is upon them.

  299. They'd rather be there with.

  300. The world and with a family of God. I don't

  301. know about you all, but I'd rather be right here

  302. in the House of God today they're anywhere else. Praise

  303. the Lord. I know he enjoyed being away for a

  304. few days. Some of you are you enjoy vacation and

  305. getting away for a few days. But john Mark was

  306. unwilling to make it all inclusive sacrifice. Ministry says to

  307. how early on we realized that if we were going

  308. to be the pastors here at this work that had

  309. pretty much been abolished and as all that we would

  310. have to make the all inclusive sacrifice. We would have

  311. to do things that nobody else was willing to do,

  312. that no one else was willing to commit to. And

  313. that's how John Mark was when he started seeing strange

  314. things happen in unfamiliar territory presenting itself. He said, bye bye, Paul,

  315. and he went back home loop the beloved position recorded

  316. in Acts fifteen and thirty eight of this particular happenstance,

  317. he said that john Marks departure was not well accepted.

  318. With these words, he said, who.

  319. Departed from them and went not with them to the work.

  320. This particular man departed the company of the great Apostle

  321. Paul because he was afraid to work.

  322. I said, because.

  323. He was afraid to work, he went not with them

  324. to the work. I remember early on as we were

  325. getting started, and we had those four people besides this

  326. the Howl and I and our little children who were

  327. still so young, and so for a good reason something whatsoever.

  328. We cannot really count them children as members of the church.

  329. There they were so little, they had nothing to give.

  330. But brother Tyler, we invested so much in them four people,

  331. and we were willing to be with them. Come on now,

  332. willing to be with them. It wasn't that we were

  333. in search of relationships or friendships. It wasn't that we

  334. had a need and a life to be received socially.

  335. It wasn't that we didn't know how to show our

  336. sef friendly and made friends. It wasn't that we couldn't

  337. have went up the road somewhere else and pastor the

  338. church with a larger congregation. But there was a desire

  339. to be with those four people. And in time we

  340. started street ministry, and we started preaching outside of the

  341. churches or Walsam and Sister Woot come by, and she

  342. noticed the spirit and recognized it as the same spirit

  343. of God that people of yesteryear had of what she

  344. had been looking for.

  345. For all of them years. And she went to the

  346. back of.

  347. That truck and she asked Sister Howell, She said, where

  348. are these people having church? Who is that man out

  349. there preaching?

  350. And Sister Howell.

  351. Said, that man is my husband, and he's pastoring a

  352. little church down there upper Cornelia Drive. And Sister Woot

  353. and their husband said we will be there in the morning.

  354. And the rest is history. But there's been a lot

  355. of times, Brother jes come hard times are good times.

  356. I looked at Sister Howard and I've said those six

  357. people were with us. I said, those six people were

  358. with us, and listen as soon as theres a little

  359. turbulence and a little problem, those people that put one

  360. leg over the side.

  361. Of the boat and started looking.

  362. For an opportunity to leave us, sir, it is disturbing

  363. and unsettling them to any member of a congregation, when

  364. they realize these people don't want to work, come, I said,

  365. when they don't want to work. That is what Loot

  366. wrote down. That was Paul's sentiments. That was Paul's statement.

  367. He departed from us because he.

  368. Did not want to go to the work. Work is

  369. just that it is work. It is not a pleasure

  370. for experience.

  371. It is not lying in a bed of It is

  372. not doing.

  373. Metal to get by. It is work. You must work out.

  374. You're all salvation, for you're in trembling by going to church,

  375. by gathering on the believers.

  376. You must work.

  377. Out your salvation. You must gather or two or three

  378. are gethered. And then your promised the power of his presence.

  379. I said then that only then, or you promised the

  380. power on his.

  381. Presence, just the how I've seen Evangelis set out.

  382. I'm going to evangelize, but until it becomes work, when

  383. it's no longer a vacation. When it becomes work, they decide,

  384. I'm not cut out for this. Oh, Mama didn't tell

  385. your mama called Evangelis about to work in voult Hey,

  386. john Mark, your praying mother knew about to exploits and

  387. the actions and the persecutions of the apostles. You didn't remember,

  388. John Mark, how Peter and them apostles got persecuted. You

  389. don't remember John Mark about this. You don't understand. You

  390. ain't considered the cost. You don't know what it takes.

  391. To serve God. Well, come on the night that I

  392. came down to the altar in nineteen ninety two.

  393. Of October, I'm telling your brother, Nathaniel.

  394. I knew he required commitment. I said, I knew he

  395. required commitment. I heerd. Sister won't tell her Grand juneing

  396. for years. If you don't mean.

  397. Business with a lord, don't go down to the altar

  398. and played games.

  399. It wasn't because she was telling them don't pray. It

  400. wasn't that she was to say it. Don't gather.

  401. What she was asking is would you rather be with Jesus?

  402. Which you rather be with Jesus?

  403. Who you know? Who it is you are speaking to

  404. while you're.

  405. Down there in the offer, Oh Holy Ghost, help me

  406. please many when they enter evangelistic service and pastoral ministry

  407. and mission work, Brother Nathania, they put their hand to

  408. the plow, and soon after they look back. Can I say,

  409. most look back, and in doing so they miss out

  410. on so much? I said, most look back, especially in

  411. this day and hour, and in doing so they miss

  412. out on so much. I wonder what old John Mark

  413. missed out on by choosing to forsake.

  414. Paul and Barnabas.

  415. I wonder what those that didn't come back after they

  416. pray for salvation have missed out on.

  417. I wonder if they're.

  418. Perfect companion or the special someone, or them beautiful children

  419. they were supposed to receive from the hand of God

  420. would have been a great bless to them, But they

  421. missed out oh so much. I want our young people

  422. to know we can miss out on the things of

  423. this world. I'm glad I've been left out of some

  424. things that are happening out there, but I.

  425. Don't want to miss out on what's.

  426. Happening there inside of here, I said, I don't want

  427. to miss out on what's happened in there among the

  428. people of God. Sean Mark, it could have been saying,

  429. missed out on so much. They're missing out this morning,

  430. Sister Howard.

  431. Then fit this morning.

  432. Sister Howard, that because they took the hand, they oft

  433. the plow, and they looked back awk for desire to

  434. go back to something.

  435. They laughed. I said, they had a desire to go

  436. back to something, they laugh and then doing so, then

  437. I missed out on so much.

  438. I want how John Mark felt when it heard how

  439. God was blessing the mission.

  440. Of Paul and Silas.

  441. I wonder how John Mark felt whenever Barnabas was having

  442. to devote so much time to mensure his mentorship of him,

  443. while Paul and Silas saw miracles and got the blessings

  444. of apostolic breathing. I wonder how he felt when he

  445. looked out there and saw the blessings of God upon

  446. these men of God.

  447. Listen. He might have been with Mama, and he might have.

  448. Been with church people, but he was missing out on

  449. being with the apostle. Paul, I said. In his case,

  450. he might not have wented to the world. He made

  451. not a drug A high backed chair up to a

  452. desk in corporate America. He might not have went and

  453. bought Peter's fishing boat. He might have tried to stay

  454. close to Barnabas and his mother.

  455. What was her name, Mary, I can't remember. He might have.

  456. But there's a a lot of people, brothers just see

  457. they even do something along them lines.

  458. They try to.

  459. Go back to sucking that seems to be smack dath

  460. center of God's will, only to find out they're missing

  461. out on being in the center of God's we all.

  462. I feel like preaching, but I'm trying to hurry, and

  463. you can tell them I'm trying to hurry. I don't

  464. want to keep it too long. Should I keep preaching

  465. or should we.

  466. Go to the chicken house?

  467. Hey man, when you look at our golden texts, you

  468. find somebody else that knew they needed to be in the.

  469. Presence of somebody.

  470. But it wasn't John Mark wanted to be in the

  471. president presidence of the Company of Mama or amongst the

  472. other Postolic brethren. I'm not talking about a oneness doctrine here.

  473. Postalic doesn't mean oneness in this case. But Brother Nathaniel,

  474. we're not talking about John Mark wanting to hold on

  475. to Mama's apron streams. We're talking about a man known

  476. as Legion of Ganera. And according to one of the

  477. other gospel writers, he said, there was two of them men.

  478. And you know what this particular man, he wanted to

  479. be with Jesus, our.

  480. Golden text said. And when he was come into the ship.

  481. He that had been possessed with the devil, prayed him

  482. that he might be with him. This means he literally

  483. begged Jesus for him to allow him to go with him.

  484. He begged to go with Jesus. I thought John Mark

  485. definitely probably begged to accompany the apostle Paul.

  486. But after he got on board and.

  487. Began that journey, he disembarked and headed home in another vessel.

  488. Come on, but this man right here, he was willing

  489. to go with Jesus.

  490. And I'm talking about all the way.

  491. The Bible readers and the Bible students among us know

  492. this narrative quite well. A demon possessed man had an

  493. encounter with the demon Destroyer, who by the spoken word,

  494. delivered his soul from its course of destruct And after

  495. he had been delivered, once he became a new creature,

  496. he wanted to be with Jesus, I said, after his

  497. deliverance and after he was a new creation, he wanted

  498. to be with Jesus. Did you notice the latter part

  499. of the gold in Tensa. This man prayed that.

  500. He might be with him. Allow me to joll your memory.

  501. Don't lose this important fragment of details within this man's story.

  502. This pressly delivered man had to have witnessed the members

  503. of the town that tell Jesus he had to go.

  504. And this is.

  505. Where God gave me the inspiration for this message. This

  506. is where the title came from. As you think about

  507. an entire town that had marveled at what God had

  508. done that and marveled about Jesus's power over the demonic

  509. spiritual and the Bible said, probably through fear.

  510. They asked Jesus to leave her.

  511. He didn't say that they asked for Jesus to be arrested,

  512. and then say that they ask for Jesus up to

  513. be cruciprid. He didn't say that they asked for Jesus

  514. up to be murdered.

  515. They just asked him to go.

  516. And while these people are misunderstanding the ministry of the Messiah,

  517. this one man is apparently the only one that's saying,

  518. if you must go, then I must go.

  519. That's what the Holy Ghost spoke.

  520. Into my heart when I got this message. If he

  521. must go, then I must go with him. I'm telling

  522. people in this building right here this morning.

  523. If Mama don't go, I'm going anyway. If Daddy don't

  524. want anybody, I want him anyway.

  525. If the rest of the church world wants he to leave,

  526. I'm going with him.

  527. Right And if he ask him the leader, how God, where.

  528. Am I'd rather be with Jesus.

  529. I'd rather be with Jesus. It's Jesus, goes I go. Oh, yes,

  530. so we're gonna take a young brother nobuhi.

  531. It could have been gentiles or Jews on that particular

  532. side of the sea who were allowing the herds of

  533. swine to dwell there.

  534. It could have been.

  535. Wild pigs that somebody had corralled. It could have been

  536. farm raised pigs that somebody had put in there. I

  537. want you to know, Jesus doesn't play games.

  538. Church.

  539. When he turns water into wine, he's not playing games.

  540. When he turns water in the swine, he ain't playing games.

  541. Did y'all get that? When he turns water into wine. Oh,

  542. come on, I'm telling you, when he turns water in

  543. the swine the old sweet lamb of God. I don't

  544. care if it was Jews or Gentiles. They can debate

  545. on that till Jesus comes back. I don't care who

  546. was farm and what who was growing on that side

  547. of the lake.

  548. But I know that Jesus.

  549. Came there, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if

  550. it wasn't so called Jews that were raising them pigs.

  551. You know why, because I know of people that called

  552. themself holiness and Pentecostal people in the state of Kentucky

  553. and other states that don't nothing of raising 'bacca tobacco

  554. bacca tobacco for financial game. I'm telling you that's a

  555. lot of people.

  556. Then the wrong thing, with the wrong motives.

  557. I said, I know people that called themselfs holiness that

  558. raised tobacco.

  559. For financial gain.

  560. Hey, come on, what the god that Samsa was here

  561. and then he could tie the fox's tails together and

  562. run them through the tobacco fields of Kentucky, E said,

  563. thy God, Hocky, hen hadn hockey help me? Tell he

  564. to never do anything for fin that's a game concerning

  565. the kingdom.

  566. I wouldn't be surprised a bit, Mother Philip.

  567. How if it wasn't greedy Jews raised the pigs for

  568. financial gain?

  569. Should I keep preaching? Let should m go the chicken house?

  570. Notice this Jesus was boarding the ship, and there's some

  571. on board. And as they're preparing for his departure, this

  572. man being newly delivered, this newly delivered individual, he begged

  573. Jesus to allow him to accompany him. I'm preaching on

  574. I'd rather be with Jesus, and mom and dad don't go.

  575. You still gotta go.

  576. If Mam and dad don't want to serve him in

  577. the beauty of holiness, you still had to serve him

  578. and worship him in the beauty of holiness. If nobody

  579. wants to get in the center at God's will with you,

  580. you still have to dwell innocent.

  581. That God's will if you want to make it to heaven.

  582. But if you fall in love with Jesus and say,

  583. I'd rather be with Jesus, not, I'd rather be with

  584. just the road gap.

  585. I'd rather be with Nathaniel.

  586. Howell, I'd rather be with Jesse Howell, I'd rather be

  587. with fill of Powell. I'd rather be with Catherine road Camp.

  588. I'd rather be with Jesus. Hoh, come on, now, do

  589. you feel that way? Do you feel that way? The

  590. Apostle Paul said, Now, to be absent in body is

  591. to be present with the Lord. Apostle Paul said, really,

  592. if you oppress me, I will tell you that I'd

  593. rather be with the Lord.

  594. But my departure is not in order right now. I

  595. must terry because it's more needful for you to have

  596. me here.

  597. Apostle Paul said, it's more important for you that God

  598. not take me right now and that I be here.

  599. That's how I feel about some of you. If an

  600. element of this church was to be fragmented him, they're

  601. taken to heaven. There's a bunch of you with backslide,

  602. I said, there's a bunch of you with backslide. It's

  603. important for us to be here, but it's even more

  604. importent for you to be with Jesus. I said, it's

  605. even more important for you to be with Jesus.

  606. The apostles.

  607. Character in their ministry was notable because they had been

  608. with Jesus. They had learned the ways of Jesus, they

  609. had learned the ways of Jesus.

  610. They had put on the mind of Christ.

  611. They understood him, they became like him. So Apostle Paul's

  612. telling early Church, you better hope and pray. How donld

  613. die prematurey. You better seek God and ask God to

  614. let me live on your behalf. But it comes to shove.

  615. I'd rather be with Jesus, That's what Apostle Paul said.

  616. I'd rather be with Jesus. But for right now, I

  617. need to hang around to preach to your brother Jeremiah.

  618. But I'd rather be with Jesus. I'm telling you there's

  619. saints of God in this building that's got precious companions

  620. and precious children, in precious ministries and precious church family.

  621. If death's door was to open right here, I know

  622. of about a dozen that would run through it because

  623. they know, just as soon as they draw that last breath,

  624. they're in the presence of the Lord talking about After

  625. a while, it'll be over talking about it. They'll come

  626. a glad day after a while, Sweet Lamb of God,

  627. I feel the Holy Ghost in this place. I want

  628. you to obey the Lord right now. This demonically possessed

  629. man was delivered by the power of God. Why shouldn't

  630. he feel like I'd rather be.

  631. With him, his scarred wrists, his scarred ankles, his scarred body,

  632. his scarred face, and he sees everybody rejecting him.

  633. His deliver rejecting his deliverer.

  634. I could see it now, brother Nathaniel, in my mind's eye.

  635. The water's lapping up on the side of the boat,

  636. and Jesus has that look in his eye.

  637. There's more for me to do. There's a work to

  638. be done.

  639. And this ship's about to sit sail, and all of

  640. the town people of that township that saying just get on.

  641. We don't understand that. We're fearful. Get on.

  642. You cost us a little bit financially. We didn't want

  643. to give sacrificially like that. Just get on, scat, get

  644. on out of here. We're not sure. We don't want

  645. you to be arrested. We ain't gonna discredit what you

  646. did for the New Money Act. Now, we'll just get

  647. on going away from here. And a man that ordinarily

  648. they wouldn't have wanted on that boat. One had been

  649. sitting in his right mind, one clothed syster Howell in

  650. modest attire, brother stare it. He grabbing the side of

  651. the boat. Y'all don't know why I'd rather have Jesus.

  652. I'd rather have him. The more pain I'd rather have him,

  653. the more scars, I'd rather have him, the more devils,

  654. I'd rather have him, the more mormant. He's the only

  655. one that ever came by that could help me. No

  656. man could help me, no man could tell me that,

  657. no man could deliver me. Don't let him go, not

  658. without me. Tell everyone coming. And as the boat got

  659. pushed off the bank, Jesus said, friend, go tell him,

  660. show him again, Go tell him, go tell him, go

  661. be with him and tell him.

  662. And brother Jesse.

  663. It's reported that when Jesus passed by that way again,

  664. everybody's singing, I'd rather.

  665. Have Jesus. That hurts of swine. I'd rather h Jesus.

  666. Let's stand, somebody should be in this autor right now,

  667. and you know it. This man wanted to go with Jesus.

  668. We won't have to beg you to get in the

  669. altar when you want to go with Jesus. In the

  670. days of Paul, Christians were behaving themselves uncomely, and they

  671. were falling away from their Christian faith in Christ because

  672. of relentless verbal and physical persecution, and because they're neglect

  673. together and sister, how well Paul told Jewish believers. He said,

  674. please get together for Satan, not dissembling of yourselves together

  675. because he knew in their gathering there would be strength.

  676. And Ruth made it clear to Naomi, I'm not going

  677. to leave your side. I'd rather be with you, Naomi, Jesus,

  678. I'd rather be with you. As Christians fill up these altars,

  679. people who have received so much from their Lord and Savior,

  680. why wouldn't they want to be with Him and his people?

  681. And I must say, as we pray, there is something

  682. amiss in the heart and life of the person who

  683. doesn't have an appetite for the things of God. For

  684. that person that has no desire to be with God's people,

  685. this man desired to spend the rest of his life

  686. with Jesus. Have you ever met someone who claims to

  687. be a child of God, but they seldom desire to

  688. spend time with him.

  689. I'd rather have Jesus. What about that prayer life?

  690. What about being a student of the Bible, What about

  691. being a lover of the book, What about being a

  692. lover of God's people.

  693. What about them late night and early morning prayer meetings.

  694. I want to be with.

  695. Him who delivered me from the demons. I want to

  696. be with him who rescued me from despair. I want

  697. to be with him who set me free from tune life.

  698. I'd rather be with Jesus. How about a friend. Can

  699. you tell him, I'd rather be with you. Take this whole.

  700. World, give me Jesus little cool back, that so queer

  701. that end up by my bad.

  702. I wonder how John Mark felt when he heard how

  703. God was blessing the people who needed help. He was

  704. disappointed in himself. I'm sure later on he reattached himself

  705. to the Ministry of Paul, and Paul said, bring him

  706. for now. He's profitable to me for the ministry. Let

  707. John Mark be with me. Jesus will allow you to

  708. be with him if you want to be. Would you

  709. rather be with Jesus. I'd rather be with He set

  710. me free. That night I was weighed down with burdens

  711. and care when I was troubled in my mind, he

  712. set before you're saying, I'd rather do with Jesus. If

  713. he has to go, then I have to go. If

  714. you're gonna run Jesus off, then you might as well

  715. run me off. How about it, young man? What's your

  716. mind on right now? What's your mind on right now?

  717. Young man?

  718. I'm gonna say it again. If he turned his door

  719. also Nona's death door. What's to open and materialize.

  720. In this building?

  721. I know in twelve people that would run through it.

  722. I could tell you twelve people right now that would

  723. run through it because they'd rather be with Jesus.

  724. I'd rather do that, said, I is the star.

  725. My hands, and you will be.

  726. Please with my.

  727. School will be in with sweet.

  728. Would rather.

  729. Have Jesus peace word.

  730. For stream fill id ready.

  731. And Jesus and.

  732. It's ball to I've rather be faithful.

  733. To himsty years tall, and I'd rather.

  734. Hadjesus than word.

  735. Bad man.

  736. I'd rather metre to his whole sty of b.

  737. It se.

  738. Grad rather had just this word.

  739. I rather have Jesus lost.

  740. O go.

  741. I'd rather have Jesus then.

  742. To lady, Rather you had Jesus.

  743. Than is orlands, I'd rather.

  744. I is thet.

  745. Other do or say.

  746. 'say?

  747. I rather.

  748. And Esua.

  749. I'd rather have Jesus than man answered the call. I'd

  750. rather be faithful to be call oh.

  751. Well, I would rather rather at Jesus oh than an one.

  752. What I'd rather be drink.

  753. Dres leander be about.

  754. Sole thing.

  755. It's that.

  756. I'd rather that Jesus this one.

  757. Thank you.

  758. He's fair, that the loud a brig. He's sweeter than honey,

  759. I know, and he's all my long.

  760. Stood ever be.

  761. I'd rather have.

  762. Jesus and love.

  763. Him LEAs of a bat.

  764. S direst a lot of that.

  765. She's a say, thinks.

  766. It's the world of today, and to be.

  767. The king.

  768. Of the

  769. Story bes
