Of Joshua Man. Direct your attention to the fifth chapter.

We will be looking at verses number thirteen through fifteen.

I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

the Camouflaged Captain. The Camouflaged Captain. I appreciate the preaching

of Brother Nathaniel Howell and Brother Jesse Howell in our absence.

We were not away for pleasure. We were away for

a time of seeking the Lord and getting clarity in

our mind concerning upcoming ministry opportunities, and seeking the Lord

on behalf of Brother Justin rope Camp and his family,

just asking the Lord to bless them in a mighty way.

I feel like God is answered and God is going

to move in a mighty way.

Concerning that situation. But it's good to be home.

It's good to be in the presence of brothers and

sisters of like precious faith.

Everywhere you go you don't feel like you're in good company.

A good company is the.

People of God that are of like precious faith, that

hold this Bible in their hand with an admiration and

a love for it.

So it's good to be in that kind of company today.

Where it became him for whom are all things, and

by whom all things, in bringing many sons unto glory,

to make the captain of their salvation perfect through stuff?

Did y'all hear that the captain of their salvation? Brother

Jesse Acts, Chapter number nine, verse number four, My brother,

and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying,

Joshua Chaptain number five, Verses number thirteen through fifteen. The

Bible says that it came to pass when Joshua was

And Joshua went unto him.

And said, unto him art thou for us or for

our adversaries. And he said, nay, but as captain of

the host of the Lord, and I now come. And

Joshua fell on his face to the earth and did worship,

and said, unto him, what saith my Lord, unto his servant,

and the captain of the Lord's host, setting of Joshua,

loose thy shoe from off thy foot, for the place

wherein thou standest is holy.

And Joshua did so.

Aren't you thankful Joshua had a teachable spirit.

Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity

to be in your house. I thank you for this,

thy people. I thank you for the spirit of God

that we have felt today. I do know that we

have two or three in agreement, and I'm glad we

could see the power of the resurrected Lord. I thank

you for the way the Holy ghost moved. His brother Philip, saying,

this morning, I pray that you would annoy this nice

servant said of God in my mouth, and help me

to say the things you would have me to say,

nothing more or less annoy the ears of this thy people,

that they might hear what the spirit of God says

or to the church, not of my words, but of

your words. We pray, God, may we hear in heed,

May we take action, Lord, May we take action. We

pray in Jesus' name. In the church said ay man,

look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, have you

ever seen the Lord?

What was their answer? No, not yet, But.

I want you to know they have seen the hand.

Of God working in their lives many times.

Our text is found in an Old.

Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Joshua

is one that informs the readers of it of a

situation going on within the nation of Israel. This situation

is these people have made their trek through the wilderness,

and after many, many, many.

Years of traveling the sandy.

Dunes over and over again, they find themselves in the

promise to lend. How many of you can say you're

in a similar situation this morning that I feel like

in this life, I am traveling through a wilderness, and

I'm very familiar with the patterns of the sandy dooms

that I have traversed over throughout my lifetime or through

my Christian journey. This particular book of the Bible informs

the reader in that situation of the salvation.

Of the Lord.

Look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, there is

salvation for your situation. There is salvation for your situation.

So this book of the Bible informs the reader of

the salvation available to all who desire the Lord's deliverance.

I couldnot imagine somebody being in our company today who

was not desiring deliverance, if they're going through something.

I can't believe.

There's anybody in this building today that is a glutton

for punishment or a glutton for captivity.

Brother Jesse, I feel.

Like this house is full of hopeful people that are

hopeful concerning the salvation of the Lord in their situation.

And thank God, there are many people present right now

in this building breathing the same error that you and

I are breathing, that contestify and say, without a doubt,

He is the captain of my salvation.

Oh yes, These Israelites that.

Lived during the days of Joshua con testify time and

again throughout the ministry of Moses and Joshua that God

has been their power and God was their strength. Brother Jesse,

I looked up the definition of strength. It is the

ability to exert.

The definition of power is the ability to exert.

Force in the the ordest period of time, having it today,

are very thankful that God is omnipotent or God is

I'm glad that we serve an almighty God this morning.

A lot of times when these preacher brethren lead.

Us in prayer, they address God as Almighty God. The

very name of this leader of the Israelites of this time,

his name means a salvation.

His name means the Lord saves.

After the Lord took Moses from the Israelites.

And became clear to every Hebrew who had belonged to

this nation that the Lord had a successor in mind.

The Lord had handpicked the special someone who would lead

the people further.

Until they reached and entered.

The promised Land.

I feel like it was the intentions of God to

allow Moses to lead the people into the promised Land

of Because of the incessent provocation of the people of

God and Moses stumbled, and because of a simple activeness obedience,

Moses was forbidden to be that special somebody that led

these people into this special situation. This man of God

and Joshua served by side with Moses, and eventually he

became his successor, meaning he became the leader, their general,

their captain, And for many years Israelites of all ages

and genders would know that this very man had helped

them get to where they were at that time, and

he'd also helped them conquer many different lands and some

new many different groups of enemies, and he had.

Enabled them to stand.

At the dresholder of their promise to land.

Not only did he take them to the thresholder, this

man of God.

Would allow them and enable them to become the inhabitants

of such a wonderful place known as a Jericho or

Canaan's Land or the promise to Land.

There's no doubt in our minds that this man was

to use the modeled by the Lord.

To fulfill the promises of God which he had made.

To his people.

How many in us, feeling this morning, feel like God

has given you some promises? How many of you feel

like God has given you some promises concerning your backslidden

children and grandchildren? How many feel like God has given

you some promises concerning your bodily healing.

I don't feel like God has given some.

People some promises concerning ministry opportunities and many other things.

As to go back and read a golden text again,

you will see that something happened. The Bible said, and

it came to pass when Joshua was by Jericho, that

he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there

stood a man over against him, with.

His sword wrong in his hand.

And Joshua went unto him and said it to him,

art thou forest?

Or are you for?

Our adversaries noticed the response of this mysterious being.

This response was a name.

But as captain of the host of the Lord, am

I now come? The captain himself has made an appearance.

Up until this time, he could have been identified as

the Rock. There were many people that did not completely understand.

What or who that was that was following or leading them.

At times the Master at times camouflaged himself in the shape,

the form, and the likeness of a rock. As you

read the Bible, you will remember that Jesus had camouflaged

himself after his bodily resurrection as a gardener. Mary had

come into that area where his body had lain for

several days, and she was looking for Jesus and the

marble sitting nearby. There was someone whom she perceived to

be the gardener.

And after the time was right.

Jesus revealed himself to marry Magdalena, and she realized the

gardener he is the captain of my salvation. Throughout the

Word of God, we find it recorded it at times

when the tune of Israel filled b they were being

led by a man named Moses. They found out that

actually God was the one leading them, and he was

using Moses as his instrument of leadership. Another time, God reveals.

The children of Israel are traveling through the wilderness of

and on a certain day, the Bible says, there appears

to be a piller that is cloudy, a pillar.

Of a cloud in the sky, and that would lead them.

By day, the Bible said that at night time they

would look up and that cloudy pillar had transformed from

a cloudy pillar to.

A fiery pillar, and by night that.

Pillar would lead them. Now, if you go back and

look at the Bible and and read it carefut and

listen to.

What the spirit of God is saying, it actually specifically

states that that fiery pillar and that.

Cloudy pillar was the Lord.

The Bible said, and the Lord let them by.

That pillar of a clouder or that pillar of a fire.

Sometimes we don't really realize exactly how closer he is

to us.

I'm preaching to somebody today.

That's asking the question, where are you at in this situation?

The Lord, I want you to know.

If you'll look to your left and again to your right,

you will see that God is with you.

He's been with you.

Ever since who asked him to be a lord of

your life, forever since you allowed him to be the

captain of your salvation. If you'll go back, if you're

diwing and look at that record of that conversion, that

day didn't happen. He whispered to you and said, I

will go with you alway, even unto the end. He'll

go with you to the end. Of the trial, and

then he'll carry you on curther. He'll go with you

to the end of your life, and he'll.

not looking at your situation, and properly you're not looking

And I see them starting construction projects, attempting to build

things they've want so exploded with spiritual data. Mate, things

they've wants destroyed. I see them building again. I see

them embracing things they used to shut away. I see

them bringing things into their tent to look they used

Come on, are they friend or foe?

Who are you?

Are you somebody that has come in? Are you a

But whenever Jesus came in and revealed himself to Joshua,

experienced for the last forty years is our position. And

he's not surprised when our position presents himself again seemingly

my spirit concerning some people in this building.

Y'all is fixing a manifest himself in such a way

and reveal himself in such a way to you and

your situation, that there will be no doubt whatsoever, and

anybody's fine that the captain of your salvation is with

you a way I said, the captain.

Of your salvation is with you all way.

Crazy.

The captain here is none other than Jesus, and Joshua

knew it was the Lord again. I'll say, that's why

I fell and worshiped again. I'll say that's why he

a rod in the courts of Pharaoh. It appeared as

other things. As they made their journey, he named some

That holy ground was just moving with them.

Holy people, those peculiar people's illness of good works, that

was traveling with that band of pilgrim's.

We embarked on a mission to do something for God.

He's been with us since day one. Brother, he's been

with us since day two. Sister, he's been with us

since day three.

are you worried?

Why are you fearful?

Why are you stress?

Is he on your side or is he not? All

it had not been for God who was on our side,

Almighty God.

He's the author and he's the finisher.

Notice, after Joshua fell on his face, he's ready to

receive orders.

And he listens carefully as he receives.

mission that is forthcoming. He receives orders, and I don't

say this disrespectfully from.

The man himself.

He receives orders, not from a man upstairs.

The man is right down, walking and shot.

A man is familiar with your pain. A man is

familiar with your passion.

I want to stand for holiness, but it seems like

everybody else is against it. I want to stand for

truth and righteousness, but it seems like more and more

following by the wayside. I want to ask that question said,

are you forced or against us? And sometimes we say

are we going to survive the battle? Because we're supposed

to be friendlies have identified them as foes. I'm telling

you some that we supposed to be friendlies have identified

as foes.

I wish I had a mask to pull off my face.

Today, Brother Philip, I'd like to have been a fly

on the wall in Joshua's tenth when he came home

from that encounter, I think if he had sung of

a modern song that we sing in some of our

modern gospels singing churches. He said, I got to feel

and everything's going to be all right. Some of you

are Soviet down by the day. Who your goodness. I

imagine he studied the way the s the sword rocked

on its side, on the man's side. I imagine he

attend to a fight. Joshua was not one who hesitated

in crying a battle cry right.

He was not one held back when it came time to.

Charge the enemy.

But this general, this captain, this commander drove him.

To his knees. And people can say all they want

too that it was an angel.

No, it wasn't.

A man of God of his caliber would have never

worshiped an angel, the one I'm a feeling, the one

that gave bows to, the one that Michael Bowston.

He let it be known, boys, you cast them a thresholds.

It's God.

about what people had thought was just a little old Rock.

greatest times in need, in your greatest moments of trial

and calumity, despair of crisis, disease, the Captain is there.

When the Lord appeared and revealed himself, Joshua done something

I ever wanted you to make a mental note that

you must be houbled himself, and he worshiped, and then

after that he obeyed. And that's what the holy ghost

is waiting on right now. There was healing in this

building time, right now, this morning, there's heughing in this building.

I have felt it for several days. There's miracles waiting

to take place.

In the dispair. Why are you fearful? Why are you worried?

Are in stress?

I have that conversation with a captor right sure, you

have other communication between you.

name of God, Go in his power, Go in his mind,

and he's on your side.

Go in his power, Go in the streets.

The captain was about to reveal.

Himself in a wonder form for as even now, right here,

in this moment, in his service, is there anything too

hard for him? Was it really just rock?

Were they really just firing patty killers?

Was it really just a cure? Was it very just

a resurrection?

Jesus said, I am the resurrection, resurrection power, deep been sided.
