  1. As a holy ghost titled a meaningful maylee, A meaningful melee.

  2. How many of you know the definition of the word maylee?

  3. All right? The word maylee.

  4. Means a confused, close range fight involving multiple people, lacking organization,

  5. a large, noisy crowd where people move in different directions

  6. and fight, A meaningful melee. Brother Nathaniel, would you turn

  7. to the Book of First Samuel. Well you read verse

  8. number twenty through twenty four, chapter number seventeen, Brother Samuel, James,

  9. chapter number one and verse number eight, Brother Jesse, Leviticus,

  10. chapter number ten, verses number ten through twelve. Again our

  11. co text this morning will be First Samuel, chapter number seventeen,

  12. Versus number twenty through twenty four. Brother Samuel, you read

  13. James chapter number one, in verse number eight, and also

  14. Leviticus chapter number ten, verses number ten through twelve. I

  15. want to preach a message the holy ghost titled a

  16. meaningful Melee, Brother Nathaniel, would you read that? My brother

  17. First Samuel seventeen twenty through twenty four and David arose

  18. up early in the morning and left the sheep with

  19. a keeper and took and win as Jesse had commanded him,

  20. And he came to the trench as the host was

  21. going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle

  22. for Israel. And the Philistines had put the battle in

  23. a ray, army against army, And David left his carriage

  24. in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and

  25. ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren.

  26. And as he talked with him, behold, there came up.

  27. The champion of the Philistines of Gath, Goliath by name,

  28. out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according

  29. to the same words. And David heard them. And all

  30. the men of Israel, when they were when they saw

  31. the man, fled from him and were sore. Read a

  32. meaningful melee, Brother Samuel James, chapter number one, verse number eight.

  33. The double minded man is unstable in all his.

  34. Ways, Brother Jesse. Leviticus, chapter number ten, Verses number ten

  35. through twelve.

  36. And that you may put difference between holy and unholy,

  37. and between unclean and clean, And that you may teach

  38. the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord

  39. had spoken.

  40. Unto them by the hand of Moses.

  41. And Moses spake unto Erin and unto Eliezer, and unto

  42. Ithamar his sons that were left, take the meat of

  43. the offering that remaineth of the offerings of the Lord

  44. made by fire, and eat it without levin beside the altar,

  45. for it is most.

  46. Holy Amen concerning Leviticus ten and ten, which brother Jesse

  47. just read to us. People today have lost sight of

  48. the holiness of God. People today have lost sight of

  49. the holiness of God, and few make an attempt at

  50. making a distinction between the holy and the unholy. Again,

  51. a few people making attempt at making a distinction between

  52. the holy and the unholy. Let's stand for the reading

  53. of our golden texts. First Kings, chapter number eighteen, verse

  54. number twenty one. You guessed that we're back here this morning?

  55. All right, the Bible said, And Elijah came unto all

  56. the people and said, how long haughts ye between two opinions.

  57. If the Lord be God, follow him, but if bel

  58. then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

  59. Two opposing forces clashed. There was a conflict, an open

  60. clash between two opposing forces. A meaningful melee. Let's pray,

  61. Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We think

  62. for the opportunity to be in your house. We pray

  63. that you would anoint this thy servant, set a guard

  64. at my mouth, and help me to say the things

  65. that you would have me to say, nothing more or less.

  66. Annoint this thy precious people, whom you told them you

  67. love him, Lord, and you love her, and you love them.

  68. We pray God that you would help them to hear

  69. what the spirit of God says unto the church. We pray,

  70. let the sayings go below the shoulders, let them saturate

  71. the soul and the spirit of these beds. We love

  72. you so much God, May we receive this word gladly.

  73. May we depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully in

  74. Jesus's name, And the church said amen.

  75. Again.

  76. Looking at verse number twenty one of First Kings, chapter

  77. number eighteen, the Bible says that he answered, I'm sorry.

  78. Verse number twenty one in Elijah came into all the

  79. people and said, how long haughts ye between to opinions?

  80. If the Lord be God, follow him, if bail, then

  81. follow him. The people answered him not a word. And

  82. I believe it is no secret at all that these

  83. people were struggling the way they were because they were

  84. double minded. Remember our co text, a double minded man

  85. is unstable in all his ways. Our text is found

  86. in an Old Testament book of the Holy Bible, the

  87. Book of First Kings. This particular book of the Bible

  88. is one that gives the readers some specific details and

  89. information about the nation of Israel and her kings after

  90. the passing or the loss of the Sweet Psalmist of Israel,

  91. after the beloved King David had succumbed to death. Basically,

  92. it's the story of Israel's decline, both naturally and spiritually.

  93. There are people in your life whom used to serve

  94. the Lord, and if you were to speak of them

  95. this morning, after this morning service, you would say, I'm

  96. not sure what happened to them, but at some point

  97. they began to decline spiritually. They did not decline naturally,

  98. but they decline spiritually. And I believe that we see

  99. a declining spiritually in our world today. We know that

  100. there are two forces at work, an evil force and

  101. a righteous force, a good force and a bad force,

  102. an angelic heavenly force and a satanic devilish force. And

  103. we know that this all began when an opposing force

  104. entered the Garden of Eden. How many of you are

  105. familiar with the scriptural account of Lucifer walking into that

  106. place of paradise. So even though two created beings whom

  107. God dearly love were occupying a promised space, an opposing

  108. force came inside of that garden where there.

  109. Was so much good.

  110. The Creator himself looked upon the actions of himself, and

  111. he declared every action to be good. So there were

  112. wonderful forces at work, brother Samuel Starrett, but an opposition

  113. developed in Lucifer, and literally it slivered into paradise.

  114. And I look at the Bethel hole.

  115. In his church this morning, and our Sunday school superintendent said,

  116. there's a little over seventy people in this building. And

  117. I know it's easy for an invisible Satanic force to

  118. if you would slide in amongst our little place of paradise,

  119. and it could be said, hey, pastor howell, there is

  120. a snake in the garden. And so we know that

  121. this book of First Kings talks about a land that

  122. had been established by God, a land that David had

  123. ruled over, a man that had a heart after God.

  124. But it is now in national decline, both naturally and spiritually.

  125. And so after watching the actions of wicked leaders and

  126. kings of his day. The prophet Elijah has much to

  127. say about backsliding. In fact, in his day and hour,

  128. he had as much to say about backsliding amongst his

  129. people as brother Thomas there does, concerning his people, meaning

  130. those that proclaim to be the sons and the daughters

  131. of God. And I believe that Elijah was okay in

  132. having those and him being so concerned about people no

  133. longer putting a distinction between the holy and the unholy,

  134. the good and the bad, the righteous and the evil.

  135. And so I want us to consider this morning the

  136. same thing that Elijah was considering. Why is this nation

  137. in a spiritual decline? What is going on? And when

  138. you recognize and realize that that nation that has forsaken

  139. and forsook God and forgotten God is in decline and

  140. it is leading them to the pathway of hell, what

  141. do you do? You humble yourself and you pray right,

  142. you repent, you turn from your wicked ways, and then

  143. the healing process, by the grace of God begins. And

  144. there's no doubt in my mind, as a religious leader,

  145. specifically as the prophet of power, the prophet of God,

  146. that Elijah was hoping for better times and better days.

  147. There's no doubt at all in my mind that the

  148. nation of Israel had been thriving under the rulership of David,

  149. both spiritually and naturally. During the reign of David, it

  150. was a time of divine inspiration. The Word of God

  151. was at liberty to go forth. Poems and songs were

  152. being written, if you would. Brother Nathaniel was playing the guitar,

  153. and his feet were as happy as his hands, and

  154. the power of God was in the place. In the

  155. days of Claude Eley, we hear about how the power

  156. of God was in the place, you know, like it

  157. is here at Bethel, when brother Jesse's feeling the anointing

  158. and he's doing more than tickling the ivories and playing

  159. skillfully unto the Lord. He's anointed and worshiping God on

  160. that musical instrument. You know, it was times like these

  161. when brother Philip feels the anoying of God and there's

  162. a special anointed drumroll. In the days of David, poems

  163. and songs were being written, and the song leader like

  164. Sister Charity Howell, and the choir like the Bethel Choir,

  165. were highly anointed, and the prophets, the preachers of God

  166. were on fire, and the King's heart was tender towards

  167. the Lord. And prophets like the prophet Nathan could rebuke

  168. the King, and the King would receive gladly the words

  169. of rebuke, and he would pray and say, creating me

  170. a clean.

  171. Heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

  172. Oh, it was revival year after year during the reign

  173. of David. But in the days of e lives of

  174. concerning the nation of Israel, things are not going so

  175. well for the people of God. Instead of loving God

  176. with all their heart, they are divided, and this internal

  177. and national division is part of their spiritual decline.

  178. We know if there had.

  179. Been division in the Upper Room, there would have been

  180. no outpouring of the Holy Ghost amongst the believers. If

  181. there had been division in the followers of Jesus Christ

  182. during his earthly ministry, there would not be the wonderful

  183. stories to teach our children of in the elementary Sunday

  184. school class. If you look at our golden takest again

  185. first Kings, chapter number eighteen and verse number twenty one,

  186. the Bible said, and in such a time as this

  187. Elijah came unto all the people. He is not only

  188. addressing leadership and the false prophets of that hour. He's

  189. addressing the nation of Israel. Because when people follow blind leaders,

  190. they themselves become blind, and everybody ends up in that

  191. spiritual ditch that is never satisfied. It desires to be

  192. filled up each and every weekend. Although people go supposedly

  193. to their specific certain houses of worship. And so Elijah

  194. comes and appears before all the people, and he asked

  195. them a question, how long halts ye between two opinions?

  196. If the Lord Jehovah be God, follow him, but if bail,

  197. then follow him.

  198. And the people answered him not a word.

  199. And Brother Jesse, the inspiration for this morning's message is

  200. that latter part. And the people answered him not a word.

  201. They were disinterested in conflict. They were not at all

  202. interested in a meaning for melee. But the prophet Elijah

  203. was ready for a spiritual showdown. In James chapter number one,

  204. in verse number eight, the great Apostle James put it

  205. this way, a double minded man is unstable in all

  206. his ways. The prophet Elijah and the apostle James were

  207. looking at people who were torn between two opposing forces. Recently,

  208. as the senior pastor here, I told our preachers and

  209. our singers to find a style and stick with it.

  210. Not to be double minded, not to be divided in style,

  211. not to be divided in purpose, not to be divided

  212. in spirit.

  213. I've always been troubled.

  214. Even prior to my conversion, when I see those people

  215. that don't know their identity, they don't know to whom

  216. they belong. I've seen them identify with a rock and

  217. roll freak crowd one week at school, and the next

  218. week they were wearing cowboy boots and cowboy hats and

  219. putting on big, flashy built buckles to identify with.

  220. The ag crew.

  221. And then a week after that they came into school

  222. with hoodies on, looking like hip hop artists. When you

  223. see somebody that cannot even settle on a dress style,

  224. you're looking at somebody that halts between two opinions. And

  225. you can see this prevalent in the independent, Holiness and

  226. Pentecostal movements, that people are being pulled by opposing forces.

  227. Could the church say.

  228. A man the proper lives and nose there is an

  229. evil force and a righteous force at work, and seemingly

  230. the evil force is prevailing. There is a holy force

  231. and an unholy force at work. Conceeemingly, the unholy force

  232. is prevailing. I believe every person in this building will

  233. agree that it is true today as it was then,

  234. that we con sense the opposition and we can detect

  235. these opposing forces. Last Sunday morning I preached along the

  236. lines of Elijah fleeing for his life from the notorious

  237. and wicked woman of Jezabel. And this morning we're putting

  238. great emphasis on the fact that Elijah had put a

  239. great distance between himself and a Hab and Jezebel. In fact,

  240. according to my Bible, and according to the maps and

  241. the charts in the back of my Bible, we could

  242. ask make that Elijah traveled almost one hundred miles from

  243. where a haven Jeszebel were to the hometown of Jezebel

  244. in order to be used of God amongst a little widow,

  245. in order for a widow of God to be used

  246. on his behalf over one hundred miles away, a great

  247. distance between a Hab and Elijah.

  248. God is working.

  249. Can I tell you sometimes you can put a distance

  250. between you and the trouble in your life and God

  251. can bless you and work in your life in a

  252. wonderful way.

  253. But then there.

  254. Comes times when God orders that you confronted. And you know,

  255. when God orders a confrontation, there is going to be

  256. a meaningful melee. There is a reason for the squirmish.

  257. There's a reason for the battle field. Oh, come on,

  258. there's a reason for the choosing of sides.

  259. And so we know that the wicked.

  260. Woman Jessebel and her spineless coward of a husband a

  261. Have are not at all excited about the arrival of Elijah,

  262. other than the fact that they need him there in

  263. order to make him pray again that it will rain again.

  264. They knew that.

  265. This undesired and unwelcome change to the nation, meaning the

  266. suffering a time of droughting, came because of their idolatry

  267. and their wickedness. But they turn it on Elijah, and

  268. from their platform and from the mouths of their news heralds,

  269. they go for saying that Elijah, it is the reason

  270. that we're going through with this time of droughting. He's

  271. the reason why we're suffering. He is the troubler of Israel.

  272. I mean, if they live today, it have been on

  273. every newspaper to been in the headlines that Elijah is

  274. the reason for the drought, and God has let Elijah

  275. know it is no longer time to flee, It is

  276. no longer.

  277. Time to live in a hideout. It is time now

  278. to confront him and to hid it head on.

  279. You see, Elijah is not a man that has double minded.

  280. He serves God in spirit and in truth.

  281. He speaks as the oracles of God concerning what God

  282. has said. The concerning Jeszabela and her prophets, whom are

  283. many four hundred prophets of Bell and four hundred and

  284. fifty propets of the Grover vice versa. They are double

  285. minded leaders they have and jezabel and their religious leaders

  286. are of double minded. The lack of rain and the

  287. drafting is not because of the man of God. It's

  288. because of the divisiveness and their old spirit and the

  289. unsettledness of their own spirit. You see, when it comes

  290. to this showdown on caramel, Elijah is trying to make

  291. it clear for everybody to see, your problem is that

  292. you're refusing to come against the force of evil. I've

  293. heard of certain people alive today that will celebrate Halloween

  294. in order to appease the forces of evil, even though

  295. they declare themselves to be the.

  296. Children of God.

  297. I've heard of so called section of correl Christian religion

  298. that feels like it's okay to appease the devil a

  299. little bitter or an evil force a little bit.

  300. So as not to upset him while serving God. That

  301. is to be double minded. Hoh, Come on now, and the.

  302. Children of his is we are in such a state

  303. of mind and such a place as this where they

  304. feel like they can lift up one hand under Jehovah

  305. and they can lift up their other hand.

  306. On the bell.

  307. It's how Lord, are so called Christians hard today? They

  308. blessed God with one half of their tongue and curse

  309. their brother with the other half of their turn. Come

  310. on now, I've never seen it as it is us today,

  311. when there's so many gossip goblins who were employed have

  312. to rumor meal of Pentecostal churches. It is everywhere everywhere

  313. you go. There's trouble on every hand. Everywhere you go.

  314. The evangelists tell me they are in spiritual decline. I

  315. know there's a few revivals here and there. Every evangelist

  316. wants you to believe that there be a successful Every

  317. evangelist want you to think hundreds got saved and hundreds were.

  318. Filled with a holy ghost.

  319. And every evangelist wants to make you think there was

  320. a lot of fruit on the altars tree.

  321. That I'm telling you it is not always the case.

  322. And we need more than a snake or salesman than

  323. an evangelist.

  324. And we need.

  325. More than a shoe salesman or us concessman in an evangelisa.

  326. We need somebody that can walk inside up from a

  327. church that calls it's up.

  328. The Church of God, and detective there's in our.

  329. Position in the building as an opposing farcer in the

  330. building there and come in and hit it with Holy

  331. Gus dynamite and blow I spear it up in the hell.

  332. I'm telling you the spirit of fire, the spirit of Elijah,

  333. the spirit of God.

  334. He's not afraid of a meaning for melee.

  335. So God lets Elijah know you know what. It was

  336. a great hot out. Miracles were performed in the hot out.

  337. A miracle was performed for you in the valley over there,

  338. in that haven. The ravens came in and they sustained

  339. you when the brook dried up I moved on over

  340. to the widow's house, and y'all had church. Oh how

  341. the Lord blessed. But now it is time to confront

  342. the opposition. Now it's time to confront the false accusation.

  343. Now it's time to let it be. Know.

  344. Really, who is the one that's troubling Israel.

  345. I will tell you who's the troubler of independent and

  346. holiness movements, Pentecostal movements.

  347. Of all degree.

  348. It is the plagiarist, somebody that's too sloppel and too

  349. lazy to get on bending knee and to pray through

  350. what they need to pray through, even if it means

  351. praying through an opposing force. I don't care how they

  352. explain it. I don't care how they get in behind.

  353. It and support it.

  354. Somebody can point it out and somebody we later compost

  355. the picture of the preacher that was called out for

  356. plagiarism in supportive him and act like it did not happen.

  357. I want you to know, young people, and the Holiness

  358. church preacher knows that it happened as much as you do.

  359. And when you stay in your hideout and it becomes

  360. a hangout rather than holy grounder, I'll tell you where

  361. the holy ground is. It is no longer in the

  362. hideout that become a hangout. And some of the would

  363. rather hang out on the outskirts of the problems owner.

  364. They'd rather stay in their comfort Zoner. And some of

  365. them avoid issue, and some of them would appease the

  366. devil rather than opposing the devil. I tell you there

  367. comes a time when you confront the devil the apostle.

  368. Paul said.

  369. One time when Peter was trying to leave a well

  370. scene between two forces, between the Gentiles and the Jews,

  371. or Peter was allowing her to be a welded beader

  372. or a seam a division. And Paul came in with

  373. a holy ghost grinder and he ground that well bed

  374. and he made it look like her one stainless steel,

  375. powerless plaint.

  376. And he was stood Peter to the face and.

  377. He said, these gentile believers are the chilling of God

  378. as much as the Jewish believer. I'm telling you I

  379. don't like conflict as much as anybody else is.

  380. But there comes a.

  381. Timer when you know what to do and you take

  382. a stand, and it may end up being a battle Stanza,

  383. but you stand up nevertheless, you don't know what to do.

  384. Having done all this, stand amen. It is so easy.

  385. It is so easy to talk our head like an

  386. ostrich when we sent a position. It is so easy

  387. to run from trouble. It is so easy to avoid trouble.

  388. I remember David basically said, I desire to be a peacekeeper.

  389. And I believe not only was he a peacekeeper, he

  390. was a peacemaker. He said, I speak on behalf of peace,

  391. but when I speak, they are for war. I tell

  392. you who the troubler is. Lucifer came into their little

  393. piece of paradise. He is the troubler of Eden. I

  394. tell you who was the troubler of the Kingdom of

  395. Israel and Judah. Lucifer, He's the one that came into

  396. the palace. And I'm telling your brother Jesse, it literally

  397. chills my blood to think that Ahab and jessup bel

  398. sat in the throne of.

  399. David and had their way and their wishes just like

  400. any and everybody else.

  401. It's got power and pre eminence, does brother Nathaniel. They

  402. were unbalanced and unchecked, but they were divided. I'm telling

  403. you a have it's trying to worship Jehov he's got

  404. profits tucked away his serving, Obadiah's hiding the mount, and

  405. Sister Jesabel's wanting to kill them. The Bible set a

  406. divided house will not stand. He ain't have you avoided

  407. conflict with Jessabel? Didn't you why? Because she's so pretty?

  408. She's from Sarah Phyth. Oh come on now, but even

  409. Jesabel would know Sarah Path is nothing more than a

  410. smelting pot, just a place where a lot.

  411. Of different alloys are burned.

  412. Oh, come on now, we don't need a melting pot

  413. our religions in order to make of the heaven. What

  414. we need is lee way, the truth, and thee life.

  415. Jesus was not inclusive. Jesus said, I will not allow

  416. you to have any other God between me and THEE.

  417. I am the way. Jezebel doesn't like that.

  418. She says, oh, oh, a haveb I don't really think

  419. it hurt or harm anything at all to let some

  420. of my prophets come in. You give them an it say,

  421. become your ruler. Jezebel loved church as much as you do, Bethel.

  422. You love church. It doesn't matter if we dismiss at

  423. twelve or one forty five. You all love church. I'm

  424. yet to have a single complaint in twenty years. I've

  425. never heard a complaint, not a single complaint of being

  426. long winded. I've never heard a single complaint of you

  427. all being long winded concern and worship and praising the

  428. Lord and praying and altar service, I have never heard

  429. a complaint. You're to be commended. And Jezebel was the

  430. same way. As long as she had it her way,

  431. as long as her profits were the ones doing the preaching,

  432. as long as it was her team and Ahab's team

  433. of eight hundred and fifty, we'll be here all day

  434. and we'll do whatever they say needs to be done.

  435. If it's cut themselves, if it's trickery, if it's witchery,

  436. if it's high dollar, whatever, we would do to do.

  437. It to make something happen.

  438. And that's where the church is today, with all of

  439. these smoke machines fogging up, the saints.

  440. Are wearing as though it's a quarter of hell. Oh,

  441. come on, now, they're lights. Hey.

  442. I remember being scared of the Neon Moon as a

  443. little boy when Retrove pasted upon. But they brought to

  444. the Neon Moon and hung it in the house of Tid.

  445. I'm telling you here this morning, the.

  446. House of Todd, there's no place at all for the

  447. neon moon.

  448. Amen. How dare you challenge that boy?

  449. You've got a backbone, you and so should you have one.

  450. So Elijah put this great distance between him and they

  451. having Jezebel on purpose. And last week I explained to

  452. you why this is a notorist Jezebel. She knows I

  453. can extinguish his life. Amen. And every prophetness that is false,

  454. and every false prophet they want to extinguish the light

  455. of every Elijah, everyone whom they say troubles Israel, everyone

  456. that dare preach a little doctrine of sanctification, everyone that

  457. dare preach a little doctrine of salvation. Somebody's told me

  458. that one of my cousins recently turned sideways in their

  459. assembly at God Church and said, he said, I'm tired

  460. of some of you justifying your sin. I'm tired of

  461. the way you've given your sin a name and the

  462. way you pet it, and you want God to just

  463. look past it and act like you're not sining. He said,

  464. when you get saved the blood of Jesus cleanses you

  465. from sin, and it gives you power to have victory

  466. over sin.

  467. They said, what's going on with him?

  468. I said, probably about the same thing that went on

  469. with me about thirty something years ago.

  470. You start reading the Bible and.

  471. You realize God said he would save his people from

  472. their sin, and he was not going to let jesesbel

  473. and Herle's remain in their sin. Shall we continue in

  474. sin that grace may abound?

  475. God forbid this day?

  476. The showdown at Carmel is going to be a sactofication revival.

  477. It's gonna be all for nothing. It's gonna be due

  478. for die. Amen. Two opposing forces come together. There's a clash,

  479. a meaning for melee.

  480. There is always a reason.

  481. For a man of God, a woman of God, a

  482. child of God, or somebody standing up for the right.

  483. The Gold City Quartet sings a song, it's one of

  484. my favorites. It talks about standing up for the right.

  485. What's the next lyric to that? There's no need of

  486. standing up for the right unless you're gonna what stand

  487. up against the wrong? There it is, Hey, Elijah was

  488. not only gonna stand up, he was gonna stand against it.

  489. And if you're not against something. I question whether or

  490. not you're for good?

  491. Are you all with me?

  492. Because anybody that is for God is gonna naturally be

  493. against something. We find that Adam should have been against

  494. that evil force that came into Paradise. We find that

  495. Elijah was justified because God commissioned him to stand against

  496. a haveb in Jesabel, somebody said, well you shouldn't speak

  497. up and out against some of this stuff that's going on.

  498. Oh really, where did you find that? At him? The

  499. word of God?

  500. It's said, as much as life within, you live peaceably

  501. with all men. Hey, but let me tell you something.

  502. Do you abide peacefully with the man that plundered your

  503. house the night before? Knowing good way, he's gonna come

  504. back in your house and plunder it again. What's gonna happen?

  505. Eventually your house is gonna be polluted. So what do

  506. you do? You with stand the thief at the door.

  507. You with stand the thief at the door. I'm not

  508. telling you to push any individuals out of church. I'm

  509. not telling you to push any individuals out of church.

  510. I'm telling you you push them foul spirits out of

  511. your way, just like God did this morning, I said, God,

  512. I know this is an attack of the enemy keeping

  513. me from preaching. Of these people you gave me, you

  514. told me to feed your sheep. In three hours, I'll

  515. be doing that, and I need your help.

  516. And you know what he came by.

  517. Because greater is he that is in us, that he

  518. that is in the world. We shouldn't fear the opposition.

  519. We shouldn't fear the opposing forces. That's what the Lord

  520. told the prophets. Jeremione is Eco had said, don't consider

  521. their countenance, don't look upon their expressions of malice, don't

  522. look upon and that unless you get fearful in your spirit,

  523. set you forehead like a flint, be focused. Amen, Praise

  524. the Lord. Should I keep preaching or should we go

  525. to the chicken house?

  526. Amen?

  527. Somebody said that man of God shouldn't ask that question.

  528. If he's really annoyed, he'd keep preaching whether or not

  529. they like it or not. But that's the same people

  530. that want their preacher to preach twenty minutes. And then

  531. because I preached for them for an hour, they said

  532. I was long winded. I'm trying to tell you there

  533. are evil forces at work. There are evil communicators, and

  534. there are people that just run their mouth. Y'all know

  535. what I call it, spiritual verbal diarrhea.

  536. Amen.

  537. The wickedness of Ahabing Jezebel had brought undesired and unwelcome

  538. change to the nation. It was no longer nation as

  539. it was under the leadership of David. And that's what

  540. happens when you get these spiritual a habit Jezebel's in

  541. the poolpit that no longer know how to put a

  542. distinction between the holy and the unholy. It used to

  543. be that you understood the platform had a spiritual line

  544. on it, and there was a distinction. People that were

  545. unsanctified did come up on the platform, not even after church.

  546. They were afraid to come up on the platform. I

  547. remember when people wouldn't even smoke in the church. You are, oh,

  548. come on, that ain't been but about twenty years ago,

  549. when the sinner who only come to church once a

  550. year at Easter would walk across the street to have

  551. a cigarette during the congregation of singing. But people today

  552. won't say anything about that. They say, we live in

  553. a different.

  554. Day and hour. Oh no, we don't.

  555. There's no new thing under the sun. The greatest wise

  556. man ever lives at? Where are the Elijahs of God?

  557. Where are the Elijahs of God? According to the double

  558. minded leaders of false prophets, of lack of reign was

  559. all because of Elijah, Ahaben Elijah or polar opposites.

  560. Praise Lord.

  561. Everyone understands these two men are at completely different ends

  562. of the spectrum. It's kind of like brother Thomas Stare

  563. at TD fakes. It's kind of like brother Aaron Wood

  564. and Joel Ostein. They're at two different ends of the spectrum.

  565. They are as different as day and night. How dare

  566. you call out any names? Well, when everybody comes to

  567. an agreement, a mutual agreement, that we should still be

  568. sanctified people, that the call to Abraham is still true today,

  569. to the spiritual descendants of Abraham, that we are called

  570. to be a sanctified people.

  571. Amen.

  572. If you look at brother Buford Stags and Brother Amos Wood,

  573. you'll see they are poor opposites. If you look at

  574. David and Glyathe and Scripture, you'll see their polar opposites

  575. as opposite as Bill Clinton and Donald Trump are. Nowadays,

  576. it appears a hab is is okay with some gray

  577. areas being in his life. That sounds like some holiness

  578. of Pentecostal preachers to me. It appears to me that

  579. a hab is okay with some gray areas being in

  580. his life. He's okay with the idea of blurring the lines.

  581. He's okay with praying to Jehovah and bell in the

  582. same breath.

  583. Are you all okay with that? You're okay with.

  584. Listening to a little rock and roll music on the

  585. way to work and then on the way home playing

  586. the Happy Goodman's sweet Water and bitter can't flow out

  587. of the same fountain, Oh, come on, fresh and salty

  588. can't flow out of the same fountain. You're telling polar

  589. opposites here on two completely different ends of the spectrum.

  590. God told Elijah you gonna find a hab he wanted ay,

  591. having Jess about to.

  592. Meet Elijah on the mouth and Carmel, and.

  593. They would need all the help that they could get,

  594. because brother Jeremiah, we all know that when that enemy

  595. force come against one of them great prophets, the Bible

  596. said that the horizon and lit up with a great

  597. host that was innumerable. And the old prophet told the

  598. young prophet, said, look those that before us are greater

  599. in number than those are in number that be against us.

  600. And so, jezbel you better call every one of your

  601. lip wristed a jelly worm, backboneer so called preachers to

  602. the rally.

  603. We're having Friday and not meeting.

  604. Oh come on, now, I don't know what not of

  605. the week it is, but you know what I'm talking about.

  606. And in Walter, the man of God, Brother Jesse told

  607. me recently. He said, Dad, I believe it's about time

  608. you start visiting some.

  609. Of these meetings.

  610. He said, I believe the moment you walk in, the

  611. vast majority of them are gonna say.

  612. Oh my God, why is he here?

  613. What does God have to say to the people of God.

  614. I'll tell you what God has to say say. The

  615. pication and holiness has never troubled the people of God.

  616. Worldliness and compromiser trouble the people of God.

  617. Amen, you know what, brother Jesse. There would be a conflict.

  618. There would be a clash between these two opposing forces.

  619. After they arrived on the mat, I meant to mount.

  620. After they arrived at the mat, I meant to mount. Oh,

  621. my God in Heaven help us. First King's eighteen twenty one,

  622. said Elijah said to all the people, how long haltsy

  623. between two opinions? I want to talk to the beth

  624. of young people for a minute. Is it Jesus or

  625. to the devil? Is it the way of the world

  626. or the way of the Cross. Is it the way

  627. of the Lord or the way of the devil. What

  628. do you want your little piece of paradise? Do you

  629. want to talk with a serpent or do you want

  630. to talk with a master? How about on your mountain?

  631. Do you want to have firefall out of heaven? Or

  632. do you want to spend all night long trying to

  633. make everybody think something's happening when nothing is happening. The

  634. prophet took two bullocks and allowed them to pick their

  635. own sounds, just like when Abraham took lot to two

  636. different pieces of property, to opposing forces, two different options,

  637. and Abraham said, the lot you pick, and preachers you

  638. listen as me. If that spirit of the devil wherever

  639. gets inside of you, and the spirit of rebellion and stubbornness,

  640. it starts moving you and motivating you. If I ever

  641. take you to my office and say listen, the world

  642. before you. A church needs to be planting on every corner.

  643. Pick your city. You need to know right then, Old God,

  644. It's just like Abraham with Lot. He feels it'd be

  645. more advantageous for me to leave than to stay. What

  646. happened that day because there was so much conflict and

  647. so much discord and disharmony between the herd men of

  648. Lot and the hermit of Abraham, that Abraham hit it

  649. head on that day and he said, we need to

  650. make a decision today. Lot, you're gonna stay and be

  651. associate pastor and youth pastor?

  652. Are you gonna pack your bags and leave?

  653. And I've heard about this division and the holiness of

  654. Pentecostal churches. Hey, the Pentecostal churches includes Assemblies of God churches.

  655. I've heard about this division that is not of God,

  656. that is not of God, when the youth pastors undermining

  657. the pastor and the pastor's undermining the youth pastor. I

  658. like what one Assembly of God pastor said one time.

  659. He said, when the church decided to sen your pastor

  660. wasn't good enough for them. That told me I wasn't

  661. good enough for them either, And I packed my bags

  662. and left. Do we have that problem that Bethel know

  663. we do not have division or discord or disharmony, but

  664. it's one of the things that's going on in the

  665. Pentecostal and Holiness movements, and it's a problem. We need

  666. to ask them the question, how long do you halt

  667. between two opinions? Is plagiarism wrong or is it not?

  668. It's getting into pulpit and bragging as though our preachers

  669. are better than everyone else.

  670. Is it bragging a sin? Is it telling a lie

  671. from a pulpit a sin? Is it boasting a sin?

  672. It happened.

  673. It happened when one of our holiness preachers getting a

  674. pullpit and called out men of this world whom they

  675. listen to and whom they borrow or plagiarize their message.

  676. Y'all heard me.

  677. They borrow or play drive their messes. I didn't say

  678. their messages. I said their missuses. You'll get that tomorrow morning.

  679. Preach against T. D. Jay's just because they don't want

  680. to be to listen to him, because when they do,

  681. they'll hear they barred. I meant stole his message, because

  682. when you do it like they did it, you can't

  683. return it. When you preach it and use it like

  684. you want it. My God, I'm gonna practice self control

  685. and self restraint right here. I expect nothing less of cowards, spineless,

  686. jelly worm backbone preachers than to decide to just remain silent.

  687. And you know what, in these United States, you have

  688. a right to remain silent if you're guilty, But if

  689. you're not guilty, you have no problem speaking up as

  690. saying I ain't done that, and I ain't gonna do that,

  691. and you shouldn't be doing that. Amen. Amen. They won't

  692. put this one on repeat. And if they steal this

  693. one like they've done others, they can have it, but

  694. they won't say that part. And you know what, brother Sterrett,

  695. Elijah did the same thing Abraham did. He said, boys,

  696. just go ahead and pick out the best bullock, and

  697. I know them false prophets. After they got done looking

  698. over their sacrifice. And then Elijah said, cut that thing

  699. up in pieces, like brother Nathaniel did.

  700. That little deer.

  701. Cut that thing up in some pieces, and dropped that

  702. thing on that altar, that thing you call an altar.

  703. Nowadays they don't even have altars in their churches. But

  704. you dropped that thing on what you call an altar,

  705. and then you ask a fireball to fall out of sky.

  706. And Elijah said, when that fireball falls out of the sky,

  707. then the one that said it will declare to be God.

  708. And they worked on it, and they had their praising

  709. worship teams, they had their mins on their drama teams.

  710. It's gonna come into Independent holding his churches. Before you

  711. know it, the stone.

  712. Was rolled away. That's o the Devil.

  713. A circus act in the church is of the devil

  714. clowns running the churches of the Devil. Twenty some years ago,

  715. I preached against the tank top wearing power team coming

  716. into Pentecostal churches. And I'm telling you it's coming in

  717. to Independent holding his churches, slowly but surely. But what

  718. I'm looking for is a God that answers by fire.

  719. And until we have a meaningful melee, you won't hear

  720. from the God that answers by fire. You ever heard

  721. Mom and Dad say, it ain't gonna get better till

  722. we have a come to Jesus meeting. And they want revival,

  723. and they're cutting their arms, and they're cutting their wrists,

  724. and they're cutting their legs and trying to have revival

  725. and God standing there with his arms folded, saying, You're

  726. not gonna have revival until you humble yourself, turn from

  727. your wicked ways, and then I'll send healing reign.

  728. I said. Then after that he will send healing brain.

  729. Of course, nothing happened at the altar of Jesseebel's prophets.

  730. Of course, there's nobody being healed. Of course, there's nobody

  731. being saved and sactified and holy ghost feel where messages

  732. of truth are not preached. But you listen to the

  733. prayer of Elijah, brother Philip, he sounded to me like

  734. he's talking to somebody has a relationship with Hear me, O, Lord,

  735. hear me that this people may know that thou art

  736. to Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart

  737. back again. That's what they need. That's what this message

  738. is about. Right here this morning. Turn your heart back

  739. to God. And when you turn your heart back to God,

  740. you will have no problem at all seeking the Lord.

  741. And when you seek him, you will when you knock

  742. on that door, he will open. And when you ask

  743. him for fire to fall, the fire will fall, and

  744. at the end everybody would occur.

  745. The Lord he is God, the Lord, He is God.

  746. Let's stand sweet Jesus. A double minded man is unstable

  747. in all his ways. David and glythe to opposing forces,

  748. and David accepted Golia's challenge. Literally, David pushed back and

  749. what sister faith Ropecap told us, I realized contemporary Christian

  750. music somehow for me it violated my spirit. And for me,

  751. she said, it was in opposition to what God was

  752. trying to do in my life. I'm not surprised. Conflict

  753. an open clash between two opposing forces. Get the imagery.

  754. Imagine Ahab and Elijah walking toward one another. Imagine their expressions,

  755. Consider the looks on their faces. Was there eye to

  756. eye contact? I felt like Elijah was looking for eye

  757. to eye contact, but I feel like Ahab.

  758. Didn't want the squamish malee.

  759. A confused, close range fight involving multiple people lacking organization.

  760. It sounds to me like them crazy false prophets running

  761. around trying to make something happen. Bring the smoke machine

  762. into the church. Then we can entertain people that like

  763. to watch clowns. A large, noisy crowd where people move

  764. in different directions and fight. It sounds to me like

  765. both sides of the Valley of e Law where the

  766. Israelites and the Philistines were gathered. And I'm going to

  767. say this again. Our cotext Leviticus ten ten talked about

  768. there should be a difference between the holy and the unholy,

  769. Brother Jesse, There's never been a time that I've been

  770. ashamed to be an ambassador of holiness unto God.

  771. I don't want to be in.

  772. A phariseical spirit. I don't feel like I've ever had

  773. a phariseical spirit. I don't ever feel like I've been

  774. holier than now. I feel like I show people the

  775. love of God. Have we been misrepresented?

  776. Yes?

  777. Has people accused us, I mean to Bethel Holness Church

  778. of being fanatical? Yes, and they will because they are

  779. an opposing force. They are on the opposite end of

  780. the spectrum. And I'm going to say this again. People

  781. today have lost sight of the holiness of God, and

  782. few are willing to make an attempt at making a

  783. distinction between holy and unholy things. And I want to

  784. ask you right now, how long are you going to

  785. fight that battle? We've all heard it said everybody has

  786. a chink in their armor. Brother Jesse, you're the inspiration

  787. for this message. Last night, while we were all talking,

  788. brother Jesse said something he's heard his dad's for years.

  789. Brother Jesse said, every person has their goliath. Every person

  790. faces their own giant. And he said, every person knows

  791. the name of that giant, and they know the battle

  792. that ensues, and they know the threats of that giant.

  793. And here's what he said. It's important that they don't

  794. be possessed of that giant, that they fight it. And

  795. Brother Jesse said, when will they kill it? And this

  796. sermon started brewing and started boiling. There's young people in

  797. every church, whether nominal, independent, organized, Holiness, Assembly God, Church

  798. of God, Presbyterian. Look, there's young people in every church

  799. that needs to kill their giant. Sister Faith road Cap,

  800. there's gonna be people come to you and say, there's

  801. no way that was a personal giant in your life,

  802. because it's not in my life. But you need to

  803. look at them and see do they change with the seasons?

  804. Do their styles change? Are they like a reed blown

  805. in the wind. I'm gonna tell you something, If thick

  806. rim glasses come in style tomorrow, I won't be buying

  807. a pair. I'd rather let this message be preached on

  808. the level of an intellect rather than me stooping down

  809. and having the name things. But I can see it

  810. as a pastor in an independent Holness church when people's

  811. been listening to IBC choir too much because they start

  812. wanting to do their hairstyles differently.

  813. Than what they've been doing it.

  814. And I'm telling you, you can look at the people

  815. of an independent Holness church or of churches, and you

  816. can tell go back to the first part of this message.

  817. They're a cowboy one week, they're a hip hop artist

  818. the next Christian, and next then they look like a lawyer.

  819. Then they look like a judge.

  820. Then they're walking around and they're.

  821. Like a read.

  822. You see, brother Howell, besides wearing dungarees, I'll look like

  823. I do right now.

  824. When are you gonna grow up?

  825. And when are you gonna put away these childish things?

  826. When are you gonna grow up? And when are you

  827. gonna put away childish things? There's things right now God's

  828. dealing with you about. One of my uncles told me.

  829. He said, the hardest battle he ever fought was stolen

  830. the TV out. He said, when God led him by

  831. the Church of God, God dealt with him about watching television. Well,

  832. I'm not surprised because I remember Granny Clampet making inappropriate

  833. jokes about Ellie May Clampet and Sister Wood when I

  834. watched The Hillbillies. It was before I got saved in

  835. the eighties. They were reruns from the sixties, and I

  836. have a very good memory. People that know me know

  837. I remember Granny Clampet telling Jed Clampet that Ellie May

  838. was wearing the garments of a man when she walked

  839. in and breeches. And for those that like to what

  840. do you call that check? What's that called? Fact check me?

  841. Fact check me, Jack. I remember Granny Clampet saying Eli

  842. May Clampet was wearing the garments of a man.

  843. That was in the sixties.

  844. The scriptwriter of the Beverly Hillbillies said that, and Granny

  845. was wearing a skirt. I'm telling you there will be

  846. a distinction, but between male and female, and genders, and

  847. the holy and unholy, and the righteous and unrighteous. And

  848. I don't have to look like a Hell's angel to

  849. preach to bicker boys. And I'm telling all of my

  850. preacher brethren, my contemporaries, and my preacher brethren of both

  851. sides of the spectrum. The church would fare a whole

  852. lot better if we come to this agreement. We need

  853. to be righteous, and we need to be holy as

  854. He is holy through Him, not of our own righteousness,

  855. which is us filthy rags, but of His righteousness. But

  856. we ought to resemble a child of God. And I

  857. want to get personal with some young people at Bethel.

  858. Can there be a meaningful melee right here this morning

  859. where you deal with it once and for all. God

  860. forbid that somebody habitually partakes and grows sin.

  861. But could there.

  862. Be a meaningful melee today where once and for all

  863. you slay your giant brother Jesse, would you come to

  864. the piano please, Brother brother Nathaniel, would you just obey

  865. the Lord in song this morning? I want us to

  866. bow our heads, close our eyes. I know God dealt

  867. with me to preach along these lines, and I know

  868. there's somebody you don't realize. The snake has slithered into

  869. your little piece of paradise, and he's got in your mind.

  870. And you change with the seasons. My wife's decore in

  871. our house changes with the seasons. But the child of

  872. God don't change with the seasons, and the Word of

  873. God doesn't change with the seasons. And I'm going to

  874. tell you some of you parents that wait until altar

  875. service to start looking on your phone and start finding

  876. inspiration and start writing in your note. But even some

  877. of you kids, you do that at the house when

  878. the Holy Ghost is moving. You need to pray so

  879. that you could be changed and stop fighting these same battles.

  880. That's what these altar services are for. And some of

  881. you don't even realize there's an opposing force opposing you,

  882. and it's all but destroyed you.

  883. I'm going to say it again.

  884. If thick rimmed glasses come in style tomorrow, I wouldn't know,

  885. brother chip Roy, If white sold bottom of shoes comes

  886. in style tomorrow, I wouldn't know, because we're not watching

  887. the world.

  888. And if you'll conquer.

  889. In the name of Jesus by his mind and by

  890. his power and by his spirit and march forth victoriously

  891. over sin, today you can look back and say, thank God,

  892. I destroyed the enemy of my soul.
