  1. All right, if you have your Bibles with you, will

  2. you turn with me to the Book of Acts. May

  3. I direct your attention to the fourth chapter in the

  4. thirty third verse, Brother Nathaniel James, chapter number four and

  5. verse number six, and Brother Jesse one Peter Chapter number five,

  6. verse number five. Again, Beloved, our golden text will be Acts,

  7. chapter number four, Verse number thirty three. And I want

  8. to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled the Power

  9. of God is Paramount. The power of God is paramount.

  10. The word paramount means more important than anything else, supreme,

  11. superior to all others, superior to all others. The power

  12. of God is paramount, Brother Nathaniel James, Chapter number four,

  13. verse number six.

  14. Brother, but he giveth.

  15. More grace, wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but

  16. give grace unto the humble. I appreciate last Sunday morning,

  17. Brother Nathaniel, speak into our youth class concerning the dangers

  18. of an individual harboring a haughty spirit and encouraging them

  19. to have a humble spirit. Humility is certainly preferred over

  20. haughtiness amongst the people of God. Would you say, a man,

  21. thank God for the goodness of God. And the grace

  22. of God, bringing a spirit of humility upon this precious

  23. people here this morning, Brother Jesse one Peter, chapter number

  24. five and verse number five.

  25. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yeay, all

  26. of you be subject one to another, and be clothed

  27. with humility. For God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace

  28. to the humble.

  29. Oh, thank God.

  30. For his resistance against that haughtiness, and for him granting

  31. grace upon the spirit of humility. Thank God for his

  32. goodness and his grace. It's paramount in our lives. We

  33. need the power of God in our lives. The Early

  34. Church of the New Testament, they needed the goodness and

  35. the grace of God. And because of a spirit of humility,

  36. ignorant and unlearned fishermen received the glorious power of the

  37. Holy ghosts and went beyond being mere disciples of Jesus

  38. Christ to becoming the great, mighty apostles of the Early Church.

  39. Because of his grace. The power of God is paramount.

  40. Let's stand for the reading of our Golden Text Acts

  41. chapter number four and verse number thirty three. Please, the

  42. Bible said, and with great power gave the apostles witness

  43. to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace.

  44. Was upon them all.

  45. If you underline words in your Bible, would you underline

  46. great power and great grace. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we

  47. love and we praise you in the spirit of humility.

  48. We've come today God, having worshiped you. I thank you

  49. for the way the Holy Ghost moved in the service.

  50. I thank you for the way hearts have been encouraged

  51. and enraptured as the saints have sung the psalms of Zai.

  52. And I pray God, that you would anoint this thy

  53. servants out a guard at my mouth, help me to

  54. say the things you would have me to say, nothing

  55. more or less. Anoint the ears of this thy people,

  56. that they might hear what the Spirit of God says

  57. or to the church today. Let these sayings go below

  58. the shoulders, that them saturate the spirit and the soul.

  59. We pray God, let us not be hearers only, but

  60. let us be doers. Let's receive this word gladly in

  61. the name of Jesus. Church and the Church said, Amen.

  62. And may you depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully,

  63. as you're being seated. Look at you, neighbor and say, hey, neighbor,

  64. is the power of God working in your life. The

  65. power of God is paramount for the perennial problem of worldliness. Again,

  66. the power of God is paramount for the perennial problems

  67. of worldliness. Our text is found in a New Testament

  68. book of the Holy Bible. In the Book of Acts,

  69. you find the actions of the Apostles and the Holy Ghosts.

  70. And the only reason why you can find notable acts

  71. of the apostles is because of great power and great

  72. grace being upon them, due to the envelopment and the

  73. enduement of power from on high. In other words, the great,

  74. sweet Holy Ghost, as promised, had come into their lives

  75. and had enabled them to do what God had commissioned

  76. them to do. In the fourth chapter the Book of Acts,

  77. we read of an account when the preaching and teaching

  78. of two of these great apostles of God offended religious

  79. leaders of their day. And while these two mighty apostles,

  80. Peter and John, was interrupted by people who could identify

  81. themselves as religious leaders of Judaism, something about the preaching

  82. of Peter and John bothered them. Does it that sound

  83. quite familiar. I've heard you tell me that people that

  84. appear to be very religious, some of which are even

  85. Pentecostal and holiness, are offended by your witness and their

  86. testimony and by your words. Sometimes it sounds very familiar,

  87. quite familiar. In fact, the Sadducees particularly didn't want to

  88. hear anything said about the resurrection of the dead, especially

  89. the resurrection of Jesus Christ. At some point, these religious leaders,

  90. the priest the cat of the Temple and the Sadducees

  91. seized Peter and John. According to what is written in

  92. verse number three, they laid their hands on these great

  93. men of God and held on to them, and then

  94. put them in a holding cell, keeping them in prison

  95. until some point the next day. In spite of this

  96. temporary setback, verse number four says that many of those

  97. people who heard the word of the apostles became believers.

  98. They believed upon the word that they had heard, and

  99. a total number of them was five thousand men, besides

  100. women and children, who gave their hearts to the Lord.

  101. Great power and great grace was manifested that day.

  102. Praise the Lord to.

  103. A child of God who was operating in great power

  104. and great grace. It was well worth spending the night

  105. in jail in order to see Grace continue her work

  106. in the lives of so many others. There's no doubt

  107. Grace made an appearance the day that Jesus Christ appeared

  108. on the sandy shores of the Sea of Galilee and

  109. asked these great men of.

  110. God to follow him.

  111. Grace appeared unto them, and Grace took possession of them

  112. because they willingly followed the Lord. And according to Peter,

  113. they were willing to forsake everything in order to experience

  114. a greater measure of goodness.

  115. And grace of our Lord.

  116. And if you missed it, Peter and John spent the

  117. night in a physical jailhouse, while the membership within the

  118. Family of God increased to a number of five thousand

  119. men besides women and children. In spite of the great

  120. opposition these two men faced, because of great power and

  121. great grace, they continued on as evangelists and refused to

  122. abort their mission of spreading the news that.

  123. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

  124. It has been said that a preacher doesn't need the

  125. Holy Ghost to preach, but under these severe circumstances, the

  126. apostles needed the Holy Ghost to enable, equip and empower

  127. them for them to minister effectively.

  128. I have set it till its threadbare.

  129. I've wore it out, set it till I've got tired

  130. of saying it. The great Apostles did stumble across good

  131. men that were eloquent in the scriptures, learned in the

  132. scripture's an eloquent of speech, that were spreading the good

  133. news of John's baptism, and some were even talking about

  134. how the Messiah was present, how he had died, been buried,

  135. and resurrected. But when these apostles they engaged those sort

  136. of men, they asked them this question, have you received

  137. the Holy Ghost?

  138. Since she believed? And whether they.

  139. Had heard of it or not, they acknowledged that they

  140. needed great grace and great power working in their life.

  141. You will remember the Great Man of.

  142. God apolis he was not offended by the Apostolic brethren

  143. when they spoke to him and said, there is a

  144. greater measure of grace for you, and there is a

  145. greater measure of great power for you. If you look

  146. at the text to our Golden Text this morning, you

  147. will notice that word ga great is in front of

  148. the two words power and grace, Brother Nathaniel, This lets

  149. me know that it is possible for believers in Jesus

  150. to have little.

  151. Power and little grace.

  152. I have no doubt in my mind this morning whatsoever,

  153. that every person in number here today is operating within

  154. his grace. So you look here in our golden text,

  155. and I love the latter part of that verse. It says,

  156. and great grace was upon them all. I would love

  157. for it to be said that every member of the

  158. Bethel Holiness Church was operating in a greater measure of

  159. grace at the.

  160. End of this morning's a service.

  161. Every believer of this present generation needs greater power and

  162. grace grace. In Acts, chapter number one, in verse number eight,

  163. the notable doctor, he wrote these words of Jesus. But

  164. ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has

  165. come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me,

  166. both in Jerusalem and in Judea, and in Samaria, and

  167. unto the uttermost parts of the earth. I don't believe

  168. it's wrong for the followers of Jesus to desire great

  169. power and great grace to enable them to be more

  170. effective as witnesses and ministers or servants of the Lord Jesus.

  171. When Doctor Luke wrote that these men of God and

  172. some others were possessors of a greater power, he was

  173. indicating that these men who had been ignorant and unlearned. Yea,

  174. they had some knowledge of the religion of Judaism, and

  175. no doubt had an extench some knowledge and a good

  176. understanding of the law of Moses. But after they have

  177. been with Jesus, they grew in grace. I said, after

  178. they have been with Jesus, they grew in grace. And

  179. there is a scripture in the Bible that a lot

  180. of people fail to understand, and I don't want to

  181. delve into that this morning, But it was even said

  182. of our Lord Jesus that there was a time.

  183. In his life when he grew into grace.

  184. Sometimes what that means is is because of the favor

  185. of God, you become more acceptable by the people that

  186. you are preaching too.

  187. And that's what happened. On the day of Pentecost.

  188. Armis of the Holy Father was present and it was

  189. being fulfilled. And I that moment, because of the notable

  190. grace and the notable goodness and the notable power of

  191. God upon the apostles, especially Peter. When that grace and

  192. that goodness and power flowed out of the upper room

  193. into the city streets, people were overwhelmed, And I said,

  194. people were overwhelmed by grace. God gave Peter the favor

  195. of the years of the people, and they were willing

  196. that day.

  197. To hear Peter.

  198. Why because of the manifestations of the spirit, because some

  199. appeared to be physically drunken. Although they were not physically drunken,

  200. they were filled with the spirit. Because some spoke in

  201. languages they had never learned or spoken in. Great grace

  202. is on the scene, It's prevalictor Ah, come on now.

  203. Then everybody realizes, truly, this is the act of God.

  204. And that's what I want you to do today is

  205. humble yourself through that hearty spirit to the side and say, God,

  206. I need a greater measure of goodness. I need a

  207. greater measure of grace. I need a greater measure her

  208. power in my life that I might be a more

  209. effective goodness. People ask the question a lot of times,

  210. and they say, why did the mission works of men

  211. like Hudson Taylor and George Mueller with his Orphanage and

  212. the other great missionaries of record.

  213. Why I did the work of William and Catherine.

  214. Booth, Why did it affect so many people in such

  215. a positive way.

  216. It's because of his grace and Brother Jesse.

  217. I've been on my knees of late, and in my spirit,

  218. I've been crying out and I must saying, God, give

  219. us greater grace and give us greater power. I know

  220. from pastoring the Bethel Hole in his church that every

  221. person in this building has been a recipient of his

  222. amazing grace, Brother Jesse. When John Newton pinned the words

  223. of that song, he was trying to determine what to

  224. put behind a certain word, and then his wife come

  225. in and said, John, you know you were a wrech.

  226. Just go ahead and admit it. You were a wretch.

  227. Put that word down in that song and let everybody

  228. sing that you were a wretch. There's no doubt the

  229. grace that showed up that day when Salvation got a

  230. hold of the slave trader.

  231. And liberated him. It was amazing.

  232. There's no other word for grace but amazing grace. Come on,

  233. But you know, I feel like John Newton knew how

  234. to climb in the higher ground and to get a

  235. hold of greater grace and greater power. I believe he

  236. went on to influence the life of William Wilbert Forsom

  237. and so many others.

  238. He influences our life.

  239. When we seen page number fifty seven in the Red

  240. Back hymn, No, how weres are to men and their

  241. messages were so effective? How oeres are to women in

  242. their ministries? We're so effective? How did sister gil Myers

  243. do so much for the Lord? How their brother Neil

  244. Bridges and by the God Rich do so much for

  245. the Lord? I tell you was because of great grace.

  246. His loving kindness is better than life. And I want

  247. you to know his loving favor is even greater than that.

  248. The favor that was upon Joseph was eben by the

  249. way God rest the life of Joseph. The grace of

  250. God that was upon the life of Abraham was evidence

  251. by the way God rest Abraham. And I want you

  252. to know God is not a respect to her persons.

  253. He will increase your faith.

  254. He will increase the measure of grace and power in

  255. your life if you will allow him to. Jesus was

  256. not exclusive in the invitation to the upper room he

  257. invited twelve years, one went on to betray him, one

  258. denied him, temporarily repented and came back. Oh thank God

  259. for those that realized they've heard it, and they prayed

  260. through and come back. But it wasn't exclusive to the twelfth.

  261. There was about how many one hundred and twenty in

  262. attendance in that upper room, and the Bible.

  263. Said they were all filled with the spirit.

  264. It wasn't just for twelve, It was for thee hundred

  265. and twenty, and then it was for the thousands of

  266. outside in the streets. I'm telling you, God will never

  267. run out of grace, and God, we'll never run out

  268. of power. One of the reasons we need greater grace

  269. and greater power is because we needed to change our attitude.

  270. We needed to change our motives, We needed to change

  271. our will. And you shall receive power after that the

  272. Holy ghost has come upon you. I don't believe it

  273. is wrong whatsoever for somebody to decide to push the

  274. plate back this week and seek the power. One of

  275. my favorite songs in that old Church of God read

  276. back him that it goes like this, Oh Lord, send the

  277. power just now. But you'll notice the inclusivity that is desired.

  278. It says, baptize everyone. These people that experienced this grace

  279. and this power, it was not so that they themselves

  280. could prosper. If you look at the verses before and

  281. after our text, you will see that they all had

  282. a common denominator, and that they were willing to give

  283. to others, and they had humble spirits if they were

  284. willing to bear and to share. The two points were

  285. following mentally this morning, and is the power of God

  286. is paramount. And the second point is it is for

  287. the perennial problem of worldliness, the perennial problem of worldiness.

  288. That's what a lot of Pentecostal and holiness pastors are

  289. beating back today. The perennial it means long lasting, existing

  290. for a long time, or continually reoccurring.

  291. The Lord knew what was in man.

  292. He knew the nature of man, woman, boy, and girl,

  293. and he knew the only way to help them live

  294. a sac the pie life that is pleasing under the Lord,

  295. and the only way to make them effective witnesses or martyrs.

  296. The only way to make them effective missionaries or evangelist

  297. stuff is if I put my spirit in them and

  298. every person in this building knows about three years ago

  299. God change the face of the Better Holiness Church. It's true.

  300. They had always been recipients of power. They had been

  301. recipients of the saving power. They had been recipients of

  302. the amazing unmurdered paper of God, the sister whooting.

  303. They needed a greater measure.

  304. And that's what I'm trying to tell somebody. It ain't

  305. I need the Holy Ghost so I can preach like

  306. her brother Nathaniel Howell. It ain't I need the Holy

  307. Ghost so I can preach like her brother Jesse Howell.

  308. It's I need the Holy Ghost so that I can

  309. be an effect of witness of His resurrection. And that's

  310. what the Bible said Peter and John were doing when

  311. the religious leaders got so upset.

  312. They were preaching on the resurrection of Jesus.

  313. And there's nothing at all able to resurrect a dead family,

  314. a dead life, for a dead church like the grace

  315. of God. You look at somebody in the church that's

  316. the recipient of a miracle, and you say, why is

  317. this miraculous power being manifested in their life? Because of

  318. great grace and it comes from humility. God I want

  319. to just be able to help somebody escape eternal damnation

  320. in hell.

  321. Lord.

  322. Personally, I want to be a lifeline personified. Lord, let

  323. me be spent, let me be exhausted, let me be

  324. used of God. That's what Apostle Paul said. Just let

  325. me be exhausted, let me be spent. The same thing

  326. was said of William and Catherine Booth. They were definitely

  327. making a mark on this world. The Congress, I believe

  328. over there was willing to hear William speak. I mean,

  329. they were influential people, if you would, successful people. But

  330. they realized following humanity was in need and they were

  331. in need of a savior. Come on, now, they didn't

  332. need to scale a corporate letder, they didn't need to climb.

  333. The political scale. Matter, Nathaniel.

  334. They realized they needed to fulfill the law of Christ

  335. and to be their brother's keeper. I'm giving you the

  336. key to your baptism right here this morning, when you

  337. study the scriptures before and after our text, the Bible said,

  338. some of the rich, some of the wealthy, looked at

  339. their abundance, and they began to distribute amongst themselves. Oh,

  340. come on, it's not the doctrine of communism has some

  341. suppose it's not socialism being instituted in the church, it's

  342. just these people's heart.

  343. And an example of Barnabas.

  344. Barnabas he laid it all down at the apostles speed

  345. the Bible, said the Son of Consolation. What he was

  346. saying is, sister Howl, if money and possessions are dishracting me,

  347. that I've got to lay them down. And that's what

  348. so many that have gone before us have done. What

  349. the rich song ruler, what's not to do? So many

  350. he's done set I don't know about you. They're like

  351. Peter and John. I'd rather have an abundance of grace,

  352. had an abudan's of power working in my life, both

  353. of which who had fathers that were successful in the

  354. commercial fishing business. Of one of these men that's imprisoned overnight,

  355. it is said to him and his brother abandoned their fathership.

  356. While they're mending that and follow Jesus. That's how urgent

  357. and pressing it is that you get the Holy Ghost

  358. because Jesus didn't even have time for him to do

  359. anything else. And I guarantee you Jesus showed up at

  360. a fair time for Zebedee, I doubt he'd let them

  361. walk away from all of the work that was to

  362. be done. I'm sure Jesus knew. It's literally the closing

  363. of this chapter. Oh, it's been amazing grace. God has

  364. definitely preserved these fishermen and their fathers.

  365. They have been successful.

  366. I'm sure Zebede probably with that voice of thunder, he said, boys,

  367. you know, God's been good to us. And I could

  368. see it now as Peter and Andrew and James and

  369. John hanging out there near James and John's father. They say, oh, yes,

  370. and here he is. Here, he is God incarnate, God

  371. in the flesh. And I could see it now as

  372. Peter begin to put his foot in those footprints of Jesus,

  373. and they followed, Jesus, there's somebody in this building today.

  374. You need to understand I'm not picking on you. I

  375. don't know exactly who this message is. For a lot

  376. of times I say three to five or ten to twelve,

  377. but I know God got.

  378. To dealing with me to tell you.

  379. All you've gotta do is ask Him for greater grace

  380. and a greater measure, a greater power, a greater measure.

  381. Don't come on now.

  382. Peter and John, no doubt, did not regret to spending the.

  383. Night in jail when they knew the manifold blessings of God.

  384. We're on the other side of the gate. I'll come

  385. on now.

  386. There ain't no trials, no persecutions, no troubles or sorrows

  387. that have Pepper made me want to give up. Oh Jesus,

  388. there ain't no sinful world abounding in such a state

  389. that grace cannot manifest itself in a greater measure, where

  390. sind a great grace that's not even much more. How bound,

  391. I'm telling you the greater messure, I'm seeing the greater

  392. messire her power, the greater messier of grace. Just ask

  393. Legion of Good Era, how great his power is. The

  394. greatness home is power.

  395. Amen.

  396. Religious people came against against them because of jealousy and envy,

  397. and they coveted what they had. And then of which

  398. doctor named Simon the Sorcerer. At one point, y'all remember

  399. reading about that he saw the way these Apostolic brethren,

  400. and that does not mean men of the one that's

  401. persuasion a Postolic brethren. Because of the manifold blessings and

  402. the goodness and the grace of their God. They earned

  403. that title of apostle me in commission to do mighty

  404. things by God.

  405. Just let modern.

  406. Apostles like dear moody, Oh, I feel like preaching for

  407. a while. Amen. Amen, what's happening? Why is God moving

  408. down there? Why God's blessing down there? Why is God's

  409. goodness and grace overflowing over there? That's what the Lord

  410. said right there in the Book of Chronicles, chapter number

  411. seven and verse number fourteen. He said, if my people,

  412. which are called by my name, would humble themselves and pray,

  413. turn from their wicked ways, then I would hear from

  414. heaven and heal their land. You know how to break

  415. the curse on a church. You know how to cure

  416. the cancer coursing through the veins of a church. You

  417. know how to cure the cancer this devouring the flesh

  418. of the church. Humble yourself and ask God for his

  419. unmerited paper.

  420. Follow your knees and face for.

  421. Months, not to months of that's what it takes, and

  422. ask God to give you a greater measure of grace.

  423. You know what was going on as they poured out

  424. of the upper room, and people heard the word of

  425. God preach God's grace and his glory and his goodness

  426. and his power was present. And that's what happened around

  427. here three years ago. I forget how many received the

  428. Holy Ghost, people that had experienced amazed and goodness of

  429. God's grace and says to how something though amaze and

  430. took place, something greater, something more amazing, something spectacular, something

  431. significant to this church that would change the face of

  432. this church forever. An outpouring, How the Holy Ghost? An outpouring?

  433. How the Holy Ghost? How many of you need to

  434. hold that ghost? Would you raise your hand? I won't

  435. even look, but acknowledge it before the Lord. When doctor

  436. Luke wrote that these two men of God and some

  437. others were possessors of great power, they were not trying

  438. to be promoted in the kingdom of men, nor were

  439. they trying to be promoted in the temple or in

  440. a synagogue somewhere. In fact, the men of power, position, prestige,

  441. for eminence, and authority were the ones that were coming

  442. against them. The Bible noted it was the captain of

  443. the temple, the priests, and the sadducees that were after

  444. these men. In other words, it was people of position

  445. and people of authority. This is what lets me know

  446. that Peter and John were not looking for a position,

  447. and they were not looking for an authoritative role in

  448. the church. They weren't seeking the baptism of the Holy

  449. ghosts to howell while dictating to God. I'll be an evangelist,

  450. I'll be a preacher, I'll be a missionary, I'll be

  451. a pastor. Oh come on, now, are y'all getting that

  452. there are some people seeking the Holy Ghost.

  453. For the wrong reasons?

  454. In fact, whatever Peter had done wrong, Jesus told him.

  455. He said, when you are converted. Basically, he said, after

  456. you've humbled yourself, and when your motives are pure and clean,

  457. then strengthen the brethren. These believers doctor Luke wrote about

  458. had power to do good for the Lord, to make

  459. wise decisions. They had power from the Lord to endure

  460. until the end. They had power from the Lord to

  461. raise the dead. They had power from the Lord to

  462. lay their hands on others, and others received the Holy Ghost.

  463. Is there anyone amongst us today who is so conceited

  464. that you would feel that you already possess enough hour

  465. to go about your day doing the Lord's work. If so,

  466. may you pray in the spirit of sincerity and humility

  467. and ask God, as I did today, to equip you

  468. and empower you for the undertaking before you. Before our

  469. walked out of that office, I said, God, I cannot

  470. do this unless you do it through me. I don't

  471. know about every person in this building, but personally I

  472. feel I can't do anything without him. I feel like

  473. I cannot even walk without him holding my hand. In

  474. Doctor Luke's Second Spiritual Biblical Writing and Acts, chapter number

  475. one and verse number eight, we find the record of

  476. Jesus speaking those words that I've already read. But ye

  477. shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come

  478. upon you. Notice the reason for the power, and ye

  479. shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in

  480. all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts

  481. of the earth. Everybody like to have an autobiography like

  482. George Mueller, but not everybody would be willing to humble

  483. themselves to ministry of the orphans while forsaking their personal needs.

  484. Are you getting it now? Is it sinking in? It's

  485. true they were to wait for the promise. Nudge and

  486. neighbors say, hey, neighbor, wait for the promise. If you

  487. don't have him, we are to wait for the promise

  488. of the Father. Or we can say it this way,

  489. nudge and neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, wait.

  490. For the power. Wait for the power.

  491. That's what David was waiting on when he was hunkered

  492. down and staring into the tops of the mulberry trees.

  493. He's waiting, He's watching. He's waiting. He's watching that, he

  494. tells to those that are with him. He said, we

  495. can go now, for I hear the sound of a

  496. goal in the tops of the mouldberry trees.

  497. You know what the problem with Saul was.

  498. He was unwilling to wait on the promise of Samuel

  499. that I will make an appearance. I will show up,

  500. I will them power, and I will pray. And if

  501. them apostles after day ten had to walk out of

  502. the upper room discourage her. They would have never been

  503. filled with a power of the Holy Ghost. But after

  504. ten days of watching, after ten days of waiting, they

  505. received the power. I said, they received.

  506. The power of God.

  507. Jesus was telling them, you better wait on the power, y'all.

  508. Remember when them men tried to pray for the demon

  509. possessed men the sons of was that, the seventh sons

  510. of Siva. They tried to pray for him and pray

  511. over what happened them disciples that were powerless, impotent? Oh

  512. come on now, they didn't have the potency of the power.

  513. They were gonna be filled within the upper room. And

  514. the Bible said them wild men stripped of them of

  515. their garments and sent them away naked, And that you

  516. can't help but be ashamed when you're running away naked.

  517. You can't help but be ashamed when the.

  518. Devil's whooped you.

  519. Oh come on, now, how about this when you ain't

  520. got no power and you're praying over somebody, And that

  521. imp speaks back and says, I know Paul, I know Peter,

  522. I know Jesus, But who are you? Oh come on now,

  523. I'm telling you you need the goodness and the grace

  524. and the power of God to preach, to testify, to witness,

  525. to be a fact. I'm not telling you you can

  526. do it. People knew it all the time, and you

  527. know what, some do some good. I'm not saying you're

  528. a sinner. I'm just saying you need more grace. I

  529. wouldn't attemd to do it without the power. I wouldn't

  530. put a target on my back without your knowing and a.

  531. God, because there is a giant health there.

  532. I said, there's a headhunter, heuth there looking for the impotet,

  533. looking for the powerless, looking for the water that is pretending.

  534. Wait receive and then operate. Wait receive and then operate

  535. the Spirit of God center early this morning. And I'm

  536. speaking that to somebody right now. Wait, receive and then operate.

  537. The Holy Ghost empowered the words. He was guiding them

  538. with their words to speak. Bethel and all believers after

  539. receiving great power, we have had some powerful experiences of

  540. our own right here at Bethel hole in his church,

  541. Like Peter and John, there have been times when we

  542. have witnessed immedia and clear results from the actions, the

  543. unctions and the words of the Holy Ghost. It was

  544. a few nights ago I stumbled across an audio that

  545. Sister howl Or I had recorded the night that these

  546. young men received the Holy Ghost. And then the next

  547. recording was the next night in service. They came up

  548. and they began to preach. We just asked them to testify,

  549. and they began to preach, and Sister Wooting their experience,

  550. and the testimony of their experience.

  551. Was like a spark to a powder keg.

  552. You could hear every holy ghost filled Christian in this

  553. church getting excited and amen in praising the Lord because

  554. you could tell they were not even having to think

  555. or conjure up anything.

  556. I mean, the.

  557. Hole that ghost was speaking through them and people could

  558. feel it.

  559. You know what. That's called favor, and that's what you need.

  560. That's why some people won't go to some churches because

  561. the preacher ain't got no paper. That's why they won't

  562. sit there under certain pastoral ministries. Cause the preacher ain't

  563. got no payper. That's why they won't support certain mission

  564. works because they ain't got no paper.

  565. Are y'all with me?

  566. That's why William and Katherine Booth could do such a

  567. wonderful work because they had paper.

  568. And that's why Peter and John could.

  569. Spend the night in prison and give each other a

  570. fist bump and throw holy hands up to God and say,

  571. we may be right here right now, but there's five

  572. thousand out there. Besides women, are children that are liberated,

  573. that are shouting up the high praises up God, God.

  574. How many was that? Peter tell me, well, I know

  575. of two or three thousand. Then I know of another

  576. five or eight thousand by one man who.

  577. Was a fisherman.

  578. Let's say, God, let your spirit overtake me. There are

  579. several records in the Bible that the doctor accounting for

  580. worth thousands receive salvation, sanctification, and Holy Goost baptism because

  581. of a handful of men being willing vessels to humble themself.

  582. What are you expecting, Pastor how I posted something on

  583. photocircle for you ought to know what I'm expecting. I'm

  584. expecting another generation of Martin Luther's. I'm expecting another generation

  585. of D. L. Moody's.

  586. And you got people that are looking at D. L.

  587. Moody and talking about his beard, and they pastor a

  588. church that runs five or seven and they have no

  589. outreach ministry, They have no burden to pass up flowers

  590. in their neighborhood, they have no desire to go on

  591. a church past and pray for souls. I'm telling you,

  592. I don't want that kind of grace. That's little grace.

  593. I'm looking for great grace. I can't do it, but

  594. he can do it through me. You can't do it,

  595. but he can do it through you. That's what made

  596. Jeremiah's preaching so different. It was his word that was

  597. shut up into little Jeremiah's heart. Jeremiah, by nature, he's

  598. a weeping prophet. But when it come to preach, he said,

  599. his word is in my heart like I burn that pie,

  600. shut up here in my poets. I'm telling you, God

  601. will put you his word inside of you. God'll put

  602. a spirit here inside of you, the Holy Ghost empowered

  603. their words. Let me ask you this question, just how

  604. potent is this power? How potent is this power? Can

  605. I ask that again? Just how is this power? Elon

  606. Musk would be thrilled to tap into it. Jeff Bezos

  607. would be thrilled to fuel his rocket team. But Elon

  608. Musk would be thrilled to tap it and power up

  609. all of his electrical vehicles.

  610. How are y'all with me hold him electric vehicles?

  611. Just how potent is this power enough that some can

  612. possess little power and others great power? Yes, Church Hurt,

  613. I've heard that till I'm sick of it, Church Hurt,

  614. I've heard that till I'm sick of it. Proverbs twenty four,

  615. verse number ten said, if thou faint in the day

  616. of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou faintest in

  617. the day of adversity, thy strength is small. You mean

  618. to tell me, Peter and John are gonna spend a

  619. night unjail, as in prison by religious church people or

  620. church family what used to be, and they're gonna just

  621. come out worshiping and praising the Lord. And you're gonna

  622. choose to miss one service or five months of service

  623. because you've been.

  624. Hurt church hurt. Oh, little one the street, he is little.

  625. Peter and John experienced overnight imprisonment for preaching the resurrection

  626. of Jesus Christ. And you're hurt, and you're missing a

  627. service because someone didn't shake your little impotent hand. We

  628. ain't waiting on the promise with that attitude, We ain't

  629. empowered by that power with that attitude. We don't wait

  630. on the promise to receive it and become a weakling.

  631. Once we receive it, we become a giant in the spirit.

  632. Doctor Luke recorded the acts of the Holy Ghost within

  633. the believers in the early Church and miraculous things took

  634. place because of the measure of power and grace they possessed.

  635. And a lot of times the chief requirement is humility.

  636. Before honor, is humility, before fall is pride, a prideful heart. Amen,

  637. I love the latter part of our verse before us

  638. this morning the Golden Text Acts four thirty three, and

  639. grace was upon them all hadelujah. Every one of them

  640. were generous after this. Every one of them were givers.

  641. After this, every one of them wanted to pray for

  642. their brothers and sister, not curse them, not afflict them.

  643. I'm gonna tell you something.

  644. I had an evangelist under me for a little while,

  645. and his wife liked to tell me and a bunch

  646. of other people that whenever somebody crossed her, especially church family,

  647. when somebody crossed her, she would go to the book

  648. of Psalms and pray some of them curses against her

  649. church family and against her physical family, even some of

  650. our immediate family.

  651. And I came to the.

  652. Poolpit and preach to her that that is totally, altogether,

  653. completely undesirable by any Christian and also unscriptural.

  654. We are to bless them that persecute us.

  655. We're to pray for them that use us despitefully, those

  656. that trouble us, those that are against us. That is

  657. the spirit of Christ. Well, I'm so church hurt.

  658. I don't know, I don't know. I just can't worship God.

  659. I'm so church hurt.

  660. They got me kind of backed into a corner because

  661. every time I worship God, they say boo and they

  662. look at me. Really, Peter and John spent all night

  663. long in prison. Who cares what people think about you?

  664. Ask God to increase your strength, Ask God to increase

  665. your grace. Was her name, Sister Betty Roberts, Sister Wooton.

  666. The people from more Tona used to tell me a

  667. story about it, Betty, and they said she was simple.

  668. You knew her, didn't your sister Neely, You knew her,

  669. Sister Wooton. I haven't mentioned that woman in eighteen and

  670. a half years. I think this is the first time

  671. I've ever mentioned her. But as sure as I'm a

  672. preaching this morning to the Bethelhoness Church, God just brought

  673. her to my mind. And Brother Nathaniel, they said people

  674. could laugh at her. They said people could mock her,

  675. ridicule her, because of the way she loved to worship

  676. her Lord and said it would not phase her. You

  677. know why, because what I've heard from the reports I

  678. was given, this woman was basking in an abundance of

  679. His power, in his grace, and Brother Jesse, I've seen

  680. the annoying that God get off on you while tickling

  681. the ivories. And I'm sure Bill Gaither's quartet wouldn't understand

  682. their pianos coming off of the piano mention shouting around

  683. and worshiping the Lord. But I'm confident that the saints

  684. of God appreciate that. And it doesn't matter whether you

  685. like it or not. There's gonna be some people operating

  686. in an abundance of His grace and in an abundance

  687. of His power. And that's the way I like it.

  688. Here at the Bethel Hole in his church. I heard

  689. one old woman one time say I don't like it

  690. that loud, and you know what I found out later

  691. on she loved romance novels. I don't like romance novels,

  692. but I sure do like loud services where people are

  693. playing skillfully before the Lord, worshiping God with all of

  694. their heart, all of their mind, with all of their spirit,

  695. putting everything they got in the service because they know

  696. everything they got it's because of him. Our musicians know

  697. they got the talent because of him. Our preachers know

  698. we can preach because of him. Our prayer will years. No,

  699. they feel the unction of pray because of here. Our

  700. tongue talkers know, they feel the unction up of the

  701. Holy ghostuff because of here.

  702. And I say, don't tone it down, turn it up.

  703. I say, don't stay satisfied with a little measure of

  704. grace and a little measure of power.

  705. Say God, increase my measure.

  706. Hear me, just a little while longer, one could see

  707. the measure of grace they possessed by their attitudes and actions.

  708. Pray for me, brother Nathaniel. See someone totally disinterested in

  709. witnessing to the lost, attending church services faithfully. Their grace

  710. level must be mighty low. But the outpouring of the

  711. Holy Ghost is what changes the mindsets. It's what changes

  712. the hearts and what changes the life believers. Let's stand.

  713. I feel like the Holy goods just bid me to

  714. shut her down. After reading this verse James, chapter number four,

  715. Verse number six, obey God, brother Nathaniel, But he giveth

  716. more grace whereof he saith God resisteth the proud, but

  717. giveth grace unto the humble.

  718. But he giveth more grace.

  719. Sister VICKI I couldn't imagine him giving you any more.

  720. Grace, but he can.

  721. Sister Charity, I couldn't imagine you being any more graceful

  722. as get to buy God, but you can. Brother Rick,

  723. I couldn't imagine you receiving any more grace as good

  724. of a man of God as you.

  725. Ever, He's got more for you.

  726. I couldn't imagine Brother Nathaniel receiving more power than that

  727. that he already possesses. But if we could just humble ourself, y'all,

  728. just imagine old Peter and John. I don't feel like

  729. they were in prison boasting about what they had done.

  730. I feel like they were in there just considering themselves unworthy,

  731. unworthy to suffer for Jesus.

  732. Humility.

  733. How about it, Church, Let's ask him to give us grace,

  734. marvelous grace. We need to be saturated in His grace.

  735. This is not a general author call. This morning's service

  736. is very different. There's gonna be ministry saturated with grace.

  737. There's going to be family saturated with grace, and there's

  738. going to be messengers and ministers marinating in His grace.

  739. From this day forth, I want to give every musician,

  740. every teacher, every preacher, every minister, every family, every individual

  741. and opportunity to ease into the front here and ask

  742. God to give him more grace. He giveth more grace

  743. to the humble.

  744. Jesus.

  745. Use me, Oh Lord, don't refuse me. Surely, in these

  746. perilous times we need more power of God. It's paramount

  747. for the perennial problem of worldliness, the spirit of this

  748. world
