I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled
-
when Christ cleanses your temple, Brother Nathaniel, Leviticus chapter number
-
fourteen Versus number thirty three through fifty three, and Brother
-
jesse John chapter number two, versus number thirteen through seventeen.
-
Brother Nathaniel, would you read that, Leviticus fourteen thirty three
-
through fifty three.
-
And the Lord spake under Moses and on the Aaron, saying,
-
when ye be coming to the land of Canaan, which
-
I give you for a possession, and I put the
-
plague of leopardsy in the house of the land of
-
your possession. And he that owneth the house shall come
-
and tell the priest, saying it seeming to me there
-
is at it, where as it were a plague in
-
the house. Then the priest shall command that they empty
-
the house before the priest go into it to see
-
the plague, and that all that is in the house
-
be not made unclean. And afterwards the priest shall go
-
in to see the house, and he shall look on
-
the plague and behold it. The plague be in the
-
wall of the house with hollow strakes greenish or reddish,
-
which is in the side at the lower than the wall.
-
Then the priest shall go out of the house to
-
the door of the house, and shall shut up the
-
house seven days. And the priest shall come again the
-
seventh day and shall look and behold of the plague
-
be spread in the walls of the house. Then the
-
priest shall command that they take away the stones on
-
which the plague is, and they shall cast them into
-
an unclean place without the city. And he shall cause
-
the house to be scraped within around about, and they
-
shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without
-
the city into an in an unclean place. And they
-
shall take other stones and put them in the house
-
of those stones in the place of those stones, and
-
he shall take other mortar and shall place the the house.
-
And if the plague come again and break out in
-
the house, after he after that he hath taken away
-
the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and
-
after it is plastered, then the priest shall come and
-
look and behold that the plague shall be spread in
-
the house. It is a fretting leoprosy in the house.
-
It is unclean. And he shall break down the house
-
and the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and
-
all the mortar of the house, and he shall carry
-
them forth out of the city into an unclean place. Moreover,
-
he that goeth into the house all the while that
-
it is shut up, shall be unclean until even and
-
he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes,
-
and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.
-
And if the priest shall.
-
Come in and look upon it, and behold, the plague
-
hath not spread in the house after the house was placed,
-
and then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because
-
of the plague is healed. And he shall take, and
-
he shall take to cleanse the house two birds and
-
a cedar wood, and scarlet and hissop. And he shall
-
kill the one bird in the in an earthen vessel
-
over running water. And he shall take the cedar wood
-
and the hissop, and the scarlet and the living bird,
-
and dip them in the blood of the slain bird
-
and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
-
And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of
-
the birden with the running water, and with the living bird,
-
and with the cedar wood, and with the hissip, and
-
with the scarlet, but he shall, but he shall let
-
go the living bird out of the city into the
-
open field, and make an atonement for the house, and
-
it shall be clean.
-
Amen, all right, sir, remember this. I believe Christ's actions
-
of cleansing the temple that day were rooted or seeded
-
in this particular instance. Leviticus, chapter number fourteen, verses number
-
thirty three through fifty three. This instance and this example,
-
Christ was attempting to cleanse or purge the temple, just
-
as these priests had done. Christ is the high priest,
-
and he was trying to clean their temple. Amen, cleanse
-
the father's house. Brother Jesse John chapter number two, Versus
-
number thirteen three seventeen.
-
Brother and the Jews.
-
Passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
-
and he found in the temple those that sold oxen,
-
and sheep and doves, and the.
-
Changers of money sitting.
-
And when he had made a scourge of small cords,
-
he drove them all out of the temple, and the
-
sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changer's money,
-
and over threw the tables. And he said unto them
-
that soul does take these things. Hence make not my
-
father's house a house of merchandise, and his disciples remembered
-
that it was written the zeal of thine house.
-
Hath eaten me up? All right?
-
So John recorded a temple cleansing which took place at
-
the beginning of Christ's ministry. I don't think very many
-
of you in this building this morning know that Christ
-
attempted to cleanse the temple twice. Okay, So, brother Jesse,
-
just read where John recorded a temple cleansing which took
-
place at the beginning of christ ministry. You all know
-
we'll soon be celebrating Easter. Just before Christ came into
-
Jerusalem and became the sacrificial lamb for us, he attempted
-
once again to cleanse the temple. So Matthew recorded a
-
temple cleansing at the end of christ ministry. Okay, Matthew
-
recorded a temple cleansing at the end of Christ ministry.
-
Let's stand.
-
Matthew, chapter number twenty one, verses number twelve through seventeen.
-
The Bible says, and Jesus went into the Temple of
-
God and cast out all of them that sold and
-
bald in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the
-
money changers and the seats of them that sold doves,
-
and said into them it is written, my house shall
-
be called the house of prayer. But she had made
-
it a din of thieves. And the blind and the
-
lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
-
Immediately after the temple cleansing, miracles of healing began to
-
take place. How important is it that our personal temple
-
and the local assembly where we attend worship services be cleansed.
-
It's very important.
-
If the miraculous power of God is to be manifested,
-
our temple must be cleansed. And the blind and the
-
lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
-
And when the chief priest inscribed saw the wonderful things
-
that he did, and the children crying in the temple
-
and saying Hosannah to the son of David, they were
-
sore displeased, and said, unto him, hearest thou what these say?
-
And Jesus said, unto them, yea, have he never read
-
out of the mouth of babes and sucklings? Thou hast
-
perfected praise. And he left them and went out of
-
the city into Bethany, and he lodged there. Let's pray,
-
Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank
-
you for the opportunity to be in the House of
-
the Lord this morning. I thank you for this precious people,
-
people who are called.
-
By your name.
-
God.
-
We pray that you.
-
Would speak to each one of us, Lord, people that
-
have chosen to forsake sin, to depart from iniquity, as
-
they call upon your name, annoying this thy servant. I
-
know I'm nothing, Lord. I cannot preach without you, Lord.
-
I do know that you called me, and I need
-
your help right now. Preach through me. Say to guard
-
at my mouth and help me to say the things
-
you would have me to say. Nothing more or less
-
anought the ears of this thy people, that they might
-
hear what the spirit of God says. Or to the church,
-
what may we hear in heed? And may we depart
-
this place joyfully and not sorrowtly in Jesus' name. And
-
the Church said, hey, man, look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor,
-
it's time for a spring cleaning.
-
Amen.
-
Our text is found in a New Testament Book of
-
the Holy Bible. Saint Matthew's Gospel is the first of
-
four Gospels, in fact that it's the first book of
-
the New Testament. This past Wednesday night, the Holy Ghost
-
led me and urged me to preach a message titled
-
are You Revolving or Evolving? In that message, I encouraged
-
each believer, our child of God or member of the
-
Family of God, to examine themselves to see if Christ
-
alone is the centerpiece in their Christian experience. And I
-
believe it should go without being said that Christ be
-
the centerpiece of every believer's life. But unfortunately, today we
-
can tell that people are evolving into something other than
-
the Bride of Christ. Our world ought to revolve around Jesus,
-
and I hope that there are people in this building
-
that change the way they looked at Jesus Christ after
-
this past Wednesday Night's service. Since you profess to be
-
the bride of Christ or the member of His body,
-
you should understand that there's a great demand placed upon
-
you for holy conduct and consecrated living. I believe in
-
this holiness way, and I believe without it, no man
-
shall see the Lord and Brother Nathaniel read to us
-
a little while ago twenty or twenty one versus of
-
scripture from the Book of Leviticus in the fourteenth chapter
-
that spoke of the importance of keeping things clean of
-
disease and filth. And it was the priest responsibility to
-
keep things purged of those things that would defile them
-
or their dwelling or their house of worship. And I
-
feel it's your responsibility as an individual to sanctify yourself.
-
The Bible used that exact expression in terminology, sainctify yourself,
-
cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit.
-
How can you do that?
-
You can only do that by washing yourself with the
-
water of the Word. You can only do that by
-
building up your most holy faith in praying in the
-
Holy Ghost. You can do that by worshiping God in
-
spirit and in truth. And I want to ask this
-
group of believers this morning again, how consecrated are you?
-
How closely are you living to the bridegroom? And is
-
the way that you're living offensive to the bridegroom? I
-
certainly don't believe it is the intention of any bride
-
in this building this morning to be offensive to their bridegroom. Today,
-
in our scripture, reading Matthew twenty one and verses number
-
twelve through seventeen. We find Christ going to church, just
-
as you and I have done today. And when he
-
went to church, he went to the temple, which is
-
supposed to be the house of prayer, and he went
-
with much anticipation and expectation, as he had done early
-
on in his earthly ministry. A lot of people do
-
not understand that Christ attempted to cleanse the temple twice,
-
the first time being early on in his ministry and
-
the second time being towards the very end of his ministry.
-
So these temple cleansings are literally bookends of the ministry
-
of Jesus Christ. In the beginning of his ministry and
-
at the end of his ministry. He wanted the parishioners
-
of such a place to know that God wanted the
-
services to be conducted the way God had told them
-
to be conducted, and he wanted the priest and the
-
parishioners to be holy, and he wanted them to worship
-
the Lord in spirit and in truth, because there was
-
no problem at all with people understanding they needed together.
-
In fact, this temple would have been the epicenter of
-
most Jewish people, even gentile believers that had converted to Judaism,
-
those that without hesitation or reluctancy, were glad to embrace
-
the law of Moses. Gentiles like you and I, people
-
that were supposed to be the offscouring of the world,
-
or the tongue of the earth, so to speak, they
-
had gladly embraced the ceremonial sacrifice. They had gladly embraced
-
the idea that if they were going to belong to
-
this religion, that when they made their pilgrimage to the Temple,
-
they would have to remain in the outer courts. Some
-
Jews and gentiles alike would have been gathering at this time,
-
and people would have been excited about being in the
-
house of God. And there's no doubt the strangers passing
-
by would have noticed the law of activity in that vicinity.
-
At times they would have noticed people gathering at the
-
temple during certain festivities.
-
Other times they would have noticed people.
-
Just gravitating towards that particular building and just trying to
-
get as close as they could to that house of
-
worship where they felt like the presence of God was
-
in residency. And then of course the strangers would have
-
noticed some were going there. As Sister Hill said she
-
had done with alterior motives in her past. She had
-
alterior motives, and so Sister Hall, I'm sure there were
-
sounds that besides conducting religious practices and rituals and services,
-
they were gathering together to socialize. And nearly twenty something
-
years of pastoral ministry, I have noticed there is always
-
that element in any crowd that has gathered together for
-
religious service. They just want to socialize. But there are
-
those thatgether, that want to worship the Lord and the
-
beauty of holiness and worship him in spirit and in truth.
-
And we know that Jesus Christ did not go to
-
the temple with ulterior motives. He went to church for
-
the right reasons. He went to church to pray. He
-
knew his ministry was about to begin, one of the
-
first times that he went, and here towards the end
-
of his ministry, and there's no doubt he feels like praying.
-
And he went there for.
-
A cleansing, not that he himself, who was sinless and spotless,
-
needed a cleansing, because he was God, he is Deity
-
at this time. He's impeccable, right, He's sinless. But he
-
knows that the people at the temple and the temple
-
itself needs a cleansing. And ironically, this time of year
-
is spring time, and you women here, you know what
-
it is, the spring clean Already our daughter in last
-
Sister Rachel has told Sister Howell that she has begun
-
that process.
-
And you tell us that.
-
When your spring cleaning, when it comes to that sort
-
of cleaning, it is a deep cleaning. So the Lord
-
Jesus Christ felt like early on in his ministry the
-
temple needed a deep cleaning, and then later on in
-
his ministry, after three and a half years, the temple
-
needs a deep cleansing. He didn't need a cleansing, but
-
the majestic temple that Herod had refurbished, that Herod had
-
restored and needed a good cleansing. Brother Samuel Howell, the
-
Jewish Temple needed more than people would have supposed it did.
-
I dare say more than ninety five percent of the
-
people that had gathered there felt like everything was being
-
done decent hand in order. I doubt anybody had any
-
complaints at all. For the most part, the tempo had
-
plenty of offering plates where people could put in her
-
monetary gifts and those offering plates were full of money.
-
It didn't lack any furniture.
-
Harry the Great had sawt to it that they were
-
rich and increased with goods, and they needed nothing. In fact,
-
every garment that they needed for religious purposes and practices
-
would have been there in the house. Everybody would have
-
been dressed appropriately and accordingly to the schedules of service.
-
Brother Nathaniel Howell, I doubt very many things were missing.
-
I'm sure that there was something no out of place
-
and out of order. When Jesus Christ wrapped that corner
-
and he looked in there and saw what was going
-
on there, out he saw those that were of the
-
same persuasion of the ludocee in church. In the Book
-
of Revelations, chapter number three and verse number seventeen, John
-
the Beloved spoke the words of Jesus concerning the Church
-
of Leddiceum, and he said that they were saying, I
-
am rich and increase with goods, and have need of nothing.
-
And I know not, and know us not that thou
-
art riches and miserable and poor and blind and nked.
-
The leedousy in church people were like these Jewish worshipers
-
who frequented to temple. Both groups of people felt they
-
had everything they needed and everything was perfectly in its place.
-
In fact, they told people about their self sufficiency. Her
-
state of affairs was that that we have taken care
-
of ourself. I don't know about it every person in
-
this building today, but sister howl and I can.
-
Tell you that we are needy people.
-
We are in need of a saving on a daily basis.
-
Even though He saved his people from their sin, we
-
need the Lord to help preserve us from this untoward generation.
-
I'm sure that there were some saints of God who
-
were devout saints that when they walked into the temple
-
they blushed because of the prideful proclamations of those that
-
were saying, Look, our religious leaders, the Sanhedrin, and even
-
here the Great have made sure that we have a
-
beautiful place to worship.
-
Our God in.
-
Look at the furnishings of this place. May I say
-
that when a person no longer sees her need of
-
a savior to sustain him, those same individuals we'll feel
-
there is no need to pray and to plead to
-
God for provision and protection multiple times each and every
-
day and every night, I asked God to supply all
-
of my needs according to his riches in glory. In fact,
-
the Jewish people at times would address God as Jehovah,
-
and then they would tag it with something like Jirah,
-
which mere Jehovah was their provider. I'm telling you there's
-
so many names of God that describes him in different
-
facets and characteristics and attributes that it can be almost confusion.
-
A mother of Israel in this place asked me a
-
couple services agirls.
-
She said, why is it so many.
-
Christian believers are so big towards posting signs in the
-
church of that say Jehovah, Jirah, Jehovah, Salona, Jehovah Nisi,
-
and the list goes on and on and order or
-
come on now, She said, why do people do that?
-
There's so many different names of God. And she's right,
-
I said, sister, don't you worry about having a good
-
understanding and agrippa on all of that, because when you
-
say the name, Jesus said, you have said it all,
-
and her Bible told.
-
Us to pray him the name of the Lord.
-
But I want to point out to you that these
-
people felt like they were self sufficient, and I doubt
-
they called on the name of the Lord as Jehovah Jirah.
-
We know the members of the church at Lrd of Seal.
-
Were not speak in the name Jehoagyrah at all. I mean,
-
when you make a priple proclamation and you boldly state
-
I am rich, I am needless, I don't need anything.
-
You are in a terrible state of mind. Lord, since
-
the how will pray for me here tonight? I know
-
that the people or the Church of Lad of Seal
-
had developed a cornal mindset, just as the Jewish worship
-
person at the temple where at this time and a
-
carnal state of mind. Jesus comes in now and he
-
does not fire true worship person worshiping.
-
God and Spirit and in the truth.
-
And they have ulterior motives, and they were participating in
-
something we call lip service, and they have impure hearts.
-
And this reminds me of the Church Corinth. And it
-
could be any other church of today. It could be
-
in other places. It could be here if we're not careful.
-
It is a church where the people of God have
-
assembled for services. And yet this church at Cricta had
-
communication coming out of their mountain that was corrupt. And
-
I want to warn somebody in this building this morning,
-
you be careful with corrupt communication. I woke up praying
-
in the spirit very early this morning, and I was
-
thinking about that good disciple name Nathaniel, that Jesus cities
-
and the Israel latter indeed, and in him is no goal.
-
And then behind that it was coming to me letting
-
no corrupt communication proceed.
-
Out of thy mouth.
-
And the members of the Church of Crict had got
-
so carn minded her and so divided in their spirit
-
that people were talking to one another, either dering before
-
after the servicesm and some were saying, I am a Paula,
-
and the others were saying I am of apol listen,
-
while others are saying I am a Peter. Where some
-
were saying, as I am that of that apostle paul,
-
one that was born at of due time, one that
-
understands the gentiles have a place. And somebody could speak
-
up and say, well, I prefer I prefer a more
-
eloquent orator. I am of Apolo. I prefer a teaching style.
-
While somebody else would.
-
Say, oh not me.
-
I was somebody whose coat tell his own fire.
-
I want an apostle for the Holy Ghost and eye
-
bowl is say, I am a Peter.
-
You're listening to me and apostle Paul.
-
Let them know you should not have partiaality here. You
-
should not have favorites. And he says, we are of Christ.
-
That is who we are of Christ is to be
-
the situal focus of every worshiper assembled in every house
-
or prayer today. Winning where Christ is that the central
-
focus for corruption will be found. Back to our golden text,
-
the scripture reading Matthew, chapter number twenty one, verses number
-
twelve through seventeen. In a time of prosperity, brother was
-
taking advantage of brother. In a time of much increase,
-
merchants were selling are you listening sacrificial animals at exorbitant pricess.
-
Here is no doubt in my mind whatsoever. The people
-
that were making their pilgrimage did not expect this at
-
the door or at the point of entry. Anybody that's traveled,
-
you know, to make the journey can be quite expensive.
-
In fact, it can be more than costly. It can
-
be treacherous. And after they've made their journey to the
-
House of God, smacking them in the face. He is
-
these exorbitant pricess for ritual sacrificial ritual animals. Sister, how well,
-
that is what happens when we come to the house
-
of God. But Jesse, if I marry him with only
-
water without bread. These people had come carrying up as
-
little as they could.
-
They did not want to carry a wholem. They did
-
not want to carry a whole animal.
-
And so they thought when they got there after their
-
leity journey, they would just buy what they needed. And
-
these greedy merchants and they took them over there to
-
the table the money changers, and they exchanged their currency
-
for that that the temple would allow. There's stuff to
-
be purchased with, and they would charge attacks on that exchange,
-
Brother Nathan, you after they walked away from being taken
-
advantage of for exchanging currency, when they stood at the
-
boot or the stable or.
-
The sacrificial animals.
-
They realized they would pay up to twenty times more
-
than what the animal was worth on the street up
-
the road for somebody's family farm. And that is what's
-
going on in a lot of churches today. They wait
-
until they get her church. And you can tell God
-
knew he took a shortcutter.
-
All week long.
-
God knew they were coming with a cane sacrificer instead
-
of an able sacrificer. And God said, you know, water,
-
you're gonna pay more for it. You're gonna work harder
-
for it. And I wanna tell every person her drags
-
are had the last minute, it would make sense that
-
you gotta worship had a greater capacity.
-
It would make sense that you gotta pray longer, had.
-
To alter because you feel like you hear him so much.
-
That's the way you feel when you're cheating there in
-
the weaker. I said, that's exactly how you feeling when
-
you're cheating there in the leaka. And because of the
-
unwillingness to pay for it, to carry it here in
-
the weak, the Lord that when they got there, they
-
had to pay.
-
More for it.
-
I'm here to tell you this morning, are you willing
-
to pay for it? Are you willing to prepare or not?
-
If you're not, you will pay. The supposed sacrificial lamb
-
was set apart for a sacrificial altar, but Brother Jesse,
-
they paid so high they could not afford it.
-
They paid so much they could not afford it. But
-
you know what.
-
They couldn't afford to leave there either without offering sacrifice,
-
because them being forgiven dependent on it. They were depending
-
on that sacrifice. That take a go away being redeemed,
-
that take a gold way being forgiven. And sister, how
-
I suspect some gave their last pennies, and some gave
-
the last of their coinage, and some will we have
-
what we need to get home? That'll preach right there.
-
Will you have what's your need come monday? Will you
-
have what's your need come tuesday? Are you going to
-
be right here in the house of God begging somebody
-
else to give you her sacrificial creature? Begging off somebody
-
else to give you? Hey, come on, now, there's some
-
people around here. They're like greedy merchants. You can tell
-
they have taken everything God has given them. They will
-
take everything that God will give them, and they will
-
take your blessing if you will allow them to. One
-
of them being sister room, and she said it timing again.
-
If you don't want your blessing, I'll take it. If
-
you don't want to yield to him and so render
-
to him, I'll take your blessing. And there were greedy
-
merchants that said, if you don't want to carry it, oh,
-
come on. His yokis easy and his burden is light.
-
This house as a host of people as saying I'm rich,
-
there's a host of people saying I don't need anything.
-
There's a host of people over there just saying, you
-
know what, brother ness Haanuel, I've.
-
Got the world by the terror, I've got it all
-
under control.
-
And then you've got these genti believers that have come
-
from distant pagan lands and they're empty in their pockets,
-
and they're probably saying, you know what, if this is
-
what it's about, I don't wrote any part of it.
-
And as I was praying this morning, I thought about
-
how many new converts turned on.
-
Their heels and said, I don't rode any part of them.
-
Merchants being greeting, have them merchants taking advantage of her people.
-
I've been their churches like that.
-
If your last name was not a certain last name,
-
if you didn't have a certain pedigree or a road cap,
-
you just turned on your heels and knew need and
-
offered me to be in that building. I don't believe
-
there ever be a time when somebody will pull up
-
in our parking lot with a different name than wrote
-
Caper or Howl, where they'll feel like they need to leave.
-
I don't care what your rals name is. I don't
-
care who favorite preacher he is. I don't care what
-
you got. Come with our money, Come with our prier,
-
so hard experience for blessing of God.
-
Oh Come.
-
My prayer is that nobody would be turned away.
-
Since the root.
-
And as I prayed this morning, and as the Holy
-
Ghost fell upon me, it seemed as though I could
-
see gentile believers that really did want to become part
-
of the family God turn and walk away, and you
-
know where, because they did have enough to pay for
-
what had been jacked up.
-
That price had been jacked up. Brother.
-
I'm telling you what, I've never seen Brother Justin Rouap
-
try to serve somebody a jacked up gospel where he
-
has just inflated the price so how that nobody could
-
get at Brother Caleb. I've never heard Brother Caleb Rocat
-
preach a jacked up gospel. Oh my God, I've never
-
heard Brother Nathaniel Howell preached a.
-
Jacked up gospel.
-
Something that's out of reach, something that nobody can get
-
a hold of. I mean, you got people in the
-
building so greedy. They're walking around saying, look what Herod
-
the Great built us. Look at the garments of the priest,
-
look at the robes of the choir, look at the
-
fire burning, look at the curtains. Have you seen anything
-
greater at the temple of Herod the Great? And you've
-
got them pour outsiders that's wanting.
-
To get in. And they realize their church is corrupt.
-
I'm on my message now.
-
They realize what they're trying to get into is no different.
-
And the world they're trying to get out of. And
-
they say, what's so use and trying to go to church?
-
And it cost him me so much and me paying
-
the prist so much. I want this to be a
-
church where people say, you know what, he ain't like
-
it was out there in the world. It ain't like
-
it was in their church.
-
Of what the world? What? These people they don't have
-
a form.
-
These people, they don't deny the power of God. They
-
are the bride of Christ who are in love with Jesus.
-
He is the situal focus of their services. Amen, So
-
now you understand a little better Jesus' frustration and anger
-
why he did what he did, Brother Nathaniel. Some of
-
these individuals forgot who those offerings were for.
-
My praise is it's not for you. I love you.
-
I passed a beautiful church family. I'm telling you what
-
the cream of the crops as to howell. You and
-
I both know what. We say it every day. I
-
look at her and I say, boy, it is good
-
to be these people.
-
Shepherd.
-
We have a stack of gift cards this thick, and
-
it doesn't matter if y'all give us gift cards or not.
-
I'm telling you what we love you. You're good to
-
us by the way you worship. You're good to us
-
by the way you get in. You're good to us
-
by the way you respect us. You're good to us.
-
And I want you to know I ain't been a
-
sheep stealing, a thief. I haven't tried to pull for
-
any of you to come here. We haven't paid for
-
any of you to come here. Brother Dylan Wallace, you're
-
the latest to come. And you and Sister Mollie could
-
tell us Pastor didn't pay our fuel bill, Pastor didn't
-
rent our U haul. Brother Sam and sister Denise, y'all
-
were before them a few months back. Pastor didn't give
-
me an offering to bring me here. Pastor didn't pay
-
my U haul bill. Pastor didn't drive my U haul.
-
But they're coming. And you know what, when they come,
-
since the Howl, they fit in when they come, since
-
the root, and they fit in when they come.
-
They're happy with the offerings that are being offered up
-
to God.
-
It's because we know it ain't Jeremy Howell's offering. We
-
know it ain't Charity Howl's offering. We know it ain't
-
Nathaniel Howell's offered. We know who the offering belongs to.
-
And I want you to know here tonight. I'm not
-
asking you to offer up praise the leadership best on
-
I'm not asking you to offer up praise.
-
To our musicians on these instruments.
-
But I am asking you to offer up thanks of
-
praise to Almighty God. It is true the greedy merchants
-
had forgot humor. The offerings belong to. They were the lords.
-
I feel like saying it again, they.
-
Were the lords.
-
God not only owns the cattle on a thousand, he
-
owes every sacrificial lamb as well. He owns every tonal
-
derive as well. For earth is the Lord, and the
-
food is there of right, read everything up but half
-
birth phrase the Lord.
-
That's what Jesus expected to find in the temple.
-
That's the church being the church, Hey, God being the
-
set your focus on all the offerat Oh.
-
For God, Amen, Amen, whoo oh, I feel it. You
-
go ahead. You want to praise him, you go ahead.
-
While the church at krints trying to figure out who's
-
the best preacher, while they're trying to figure out who's
-
the most satisfying speaker, while they're trying to figure out
-
who's got the best idea an interpretation of scripture, Paul saying,
-
it's all about Jesus. Let's give him some honor. That's
-
all about Jesus. Let's give him some praise. And Peter
-
will say that's right, Paul, that's wrong.
-
As we get another it. That's all that matters is
-
how we bring growing to God. And you know what,
-
brother PAULA is what's say, praach, preacher, preach, preacher.
-
It's all about him.
-
Here's all about Jesus. Give him some honor. That's what
-
Jesus was looking for. Had the beginning of us ministry,
-
had the end of us ministry. He was looking for
-
perfect praise. In John chapter number two, verses number thirteen,
-
three seventeen, we read of Jesus making a whip of cords,
-
and with such an instrument of correction, he chastised and
-
cleared the temple, an instrument for chastisement, an instrument for chastisement,
-
probably leather.
-
And it's stung. It's stung every lamb. Oh, come on now.
-
He overturned the tables of the money changers, those that
-
were charging too much to exchange currency, and he drove
-
out them. Come on, overturned the tables in the chairs,
-
brother Nathaniel. He got sick of the exorbitant prices, about
-
as sick of some of you have got over the
-
gas prices of late. Somebody got to clean up to corruption,
-
I said, somebody's got to clear out some things and
-
clean up the corruption. I'm preaching a Missus the Holy
-
Ghost titled when Jesus cleanses the Temple. You see that
-
marshmeller right there. I was thinking it would do more
-
than that. That marshmeller right there has contaminated the House
-
of God, Brother Philip, go around and contaminate our always
-
contaminate our hallways, contaminate our temple, those marshmallows who represent leaven.
-
Jesus said, know, ye, not that that loven, just a
-
little bit of nature relving the entire love. He wasn't
-
talking about Grandma put some loving in the biscuits. He
-
went talking about a priest to accidentally give some loving
-
in the unloving bread. He was talking about the religion
-
of the doctrine how describes him and the Pharisees. He
-
was letting it be known they ain't cleansing the temple.
-
In the book of Lebticus, whose guys were supposed to
-
cleanse the house he was supposed to cleanse it of
-
the plague?
-
Who was supposed to cleanse it? For the lef say,
-
who are supposed to cleanse it?
-
And that's what Jesus was letting them priests know when
-
he went that day at the beginning of his minister
-
and he looked around and he said, you guys ain't
-
doing your job.
-
He's no.
-
In the book of Leviticus, you can clute the scripture.
-
You know what it says, you're supposed to be cleaning
-
this mess up. I said, we clean right mess up?
-
And and with a scourge of correction.
-
At the end of his ministry, he's about to be
-
sacrificed as high priest.
-
And he walks in again and he busts up the party.
-
Oh no, here's Thomas staring again, standing at the corner
-
of eighty and Joe Boulevard. Oh no, it's Jeremy how
-
again standing out there at such and such church. Who
-
does he think he he's ficing to go in there
-
and preach. It's time we clean this house up. You know,
-
that's why a lot of people don't like Jesus knocking
-
at the door. He said, behold, I stand at the
-
door and knock. You know what he said, if any
-
man ill let me in, I'll come in. Let him say,
-
I'll sup with you, man, I'll sit in there with you.
-
Or what we found out here. He will not sit
-
in the field. He will not sit in the corruption.
-
He will not sit in the contamination. This tells me
-
right here that Martha had a clean kitchen, Martha had
-
a clean house. Oh come on now, and I'm telling you, God,
-
who's gonna expect a clean church? Who's gonna expect her
-
a clean tamlet, A consecrated man, a deponing woman a
-
clean church house.
-
In that church house, they won't be picking their chicken
-
off the bone. Amen.
-
So we see Jesus making a whip of cords and
-
he drove it out. He cleaned up the corruption. The
-
second time, which took place near the end of his ministry,
-
he's again saying, boys, clean this mess up, Clean this
-
mess up. And you know what in the book of Leviticus,
-
when they couldn't get it the Early Purge, what happened,
-
Brother would destruction.
-
They tore it down. They tore it down.
-
Them priests weren't gonna allow it because God wouldn't allow it.
-
And says to how they raised it to the ground.
-
And that's what Jesus was doing. You've never heard a preacher,
-
miss minister say this. I've never heard it. I'm pretty something.
-
Years on he was letting them know, this has been
-
your last warning to clean up the mess because he
-
is the high priest. He is the high priest and
-
says to how he knew what them levitical priests I
-
had been told to do. Are y'all listening to them?
-
Them priests will leave how we're told to do? And
-
Brother Aaron Wood just said it they'd tear it down destruction,
-
and Jesus said, you destroy this temple, you destroy this temple.
-
He literally said, destructions coming, and you're gonna think that
-
you're destroying me. But I want you to know this
-
temple is going to be destroyed, and one stone shall
-
be left upon another. In a d seventy Titus rolled
-
in and he did not leave one stone upon another.
-
This is the prophecy. I hold on too.
-
I don't believe the wailing wall over there is part
-
of the temple. I don't know why they're praying to
-
that wall. The Bibles either writer or it's not. Jesus
-
said there shall not be one stone left upon another.
-
Titus was feeling inspired to destroy because when Jesus said
-
cleaning up, they would not clean it up.
-
And that's what's happening in the churches.
-
Unfortunately, revival came and the Holy Girls say clean it up.
-
Revival came the families and the Holy girl set it
-
cleaned up, and everybody wondered why the destruction, Well, it's
-
not because Jesus didn't trial to clean up the temple.
-
It's not that Jesus didn't trial to clean up those hearts.
-
Clean it up.
-
Well, he cleared the corruption the second time. He tried
-
his best, just like these brothers have been doing around
-
here where they're preaching and their teaching.
-
I love what brother Roquat taught on this morning. Are
-
you a fan?
-
Are you a follower? There were plenty of fans in there.
-
There were plenty of fans in there and only a
-
few followers. The fans stayed while the real followers went out.
-
But this is what I love.
-
After Jesus began cleansing, after the cleansing had taken place,
-
the blind the lame knew. Now we're having church the
-
way we should be having church. Now, the pastors not
-
avoiding certain scriptures. Now we're sanctifying ourselves and cleansing ourselves
-
from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. Now the
-
word sanctification is not a cuss word. Now we're promoting
-
holiness and the beauty of us. We're living. And brothers
-
there at Jesus done what a lot of them preachers
-
would not do, and revival ensued. I want to tell
-
our young preachers shouldn't be And brothers stare at some
-
of these older preachers dying. Go old, y'all, don't forget this.
-
Revival comes on the heels of sanctification. Revival comes on
-
the heels of cleansing. Revival comes on the healing up
-
for the heels of purification.
-
That's why I wish.
-
Somebody go through this church house looking high and lord
-
like them priests were to do, looking for the plague,
-
looking for some contamination looking.
-
I'm I telling you I'm looking right. There had a
-
whole batch of little marshmallows a need to be cleaned up.
-
After that cleansing, Jesus began healing people. After that cleansing,
-
Jesus began healing. So when they go to tell your
-
brother Philip years from now, Dad's death and gone, just
-
remember discermon. Oh no healing and holy ghost outbreak came
-
after the cleansing and since the how for those that
-
were rich, they said, I'm rich, I'm increased with goods.
-
That's offensive for somebody to stand in church and stand
-
up and say, I'd like to testify.
-
I'm rich.
-
I don't need a thing. You don't need Jehovah, iiver,
-
you don't need Jesus. I'm a needy person. And when
-
them little kids realize what Jesus had done, after the cleansing,
-
healing's taking place, and the little children realized, now we're
-
having revival. Then the Bible said, out of the mouths
-
of babes and sucklings, this is the instance thou hast perfected.
-
Praise the little boys and the little girls are said,
-
hos Annah to God in the heists Annah.
-
Oh, come on now, hit bo. Count right there in
-
the courtyard on the temple. Who's hand it to God
-
in the highest Hey, man, let's stand right here praise
-
the Lord.
-
I don't know if you're at the beginning of your
-
Christian experience or at the end. There's always an opportunity
-
for cleansing, there's always an opportunity for a healing. Praise
-
the Lord. Amen, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. That ought to be
-
the number one word in your vocabulary when you say
-
the name Jesus. You said it all, Brother Jeremiah, this
-
message today. I started to name every name of God,
-
and I thought half dis sermons is going to be
-
the names of God. If I name every name of God, yeah,
-
waih hellohum. I just start going down to all of
-
that stuff. And I said, you know what, like I
-
told that sister a couple of weeks ago. When we
-
say Jesus, we said it all. You do say Jehovah, Jirah.
-
When you say Jesus, you do say Jehovah, my peace, Jehovah.
-
Stall On, when you say Jesus, Brother Nathan On, twenty
-
years from now, there will be some nut try to
-
get you to get up and post on every one
-
in the church all the names of God, and somebody
-
that's ignorant. They're going to walk in and say, man,
-
these people must be polytheistic. They got about fifty gods here.
-
There's no other name under heaven wherein we might be saved.
-
The name of the Lord, not the names. The name
-
of the Lord is a strong tire. These Jews may
-
have said Jehovah, but I say Jesus. Acts two thirty
-
eight is not intended to be the motto or the
-
anthem of the one that's Pentecostals. It wasn't intended to
-
be the theme scripture of their movement. Peter was letting
-
everybody know that stood on the hillside just before baptism.
-
Forget about all the pagan deities, forget about polytheism. I
-
just want you to know that man had just cleansed
-
the temple, the one that preached the gospel to the poor,
-
the one that healed the lame and the blind, the
-
halt and the withered. Jesus, you know, the one John
-
looked for and said he refused to look for another.
-
He found him.
-
Peter was saying, it's in him we baptize. And that's
-
why I know the Gospels it says in the name
-
of the Father, the Son, and the holy ghosts. Because
-
when it comes to the of the two thirds of
-
the Godhead, all you got do say Jesus. Your prayers
-
hit that ceiling until you say Jesus, and suddenly that
-
prayer bursts through the universe like rocket fueled and power
-
punches a hole through the sky. And in your name
-
we pray Jesus at Bethel. It doesn't matter who the
-
preacher is, as long as he's preaching Jesus and him
-
Chrus the fight. I'd love to be in heaven right
-
now with Peter and a Paulus and Paul and them
-
correcting church members who sometimes dipped and delved into carnality.
-
I'd love to walk by mall and say, there's your
-
three boys. But wasn't it all about him?
-
Anyway?
-
There's Paul, there's a Paulus, and there's Peter, but there's Jesus.
-
People are getting in trouble today in their farm, following
-
every every doctrine blown with every wind of doctrine, and
-
they're evolving into something that's different than what I would
-
expect the church to be. And that's what Hereared the
-
Great had done since to how he created a circumstance
-
for these Jews that deserved nothing but destruction.
-
And he knew that.
-
He knew in their self sufficiency, they would no longer
-
have a God dependency. He knew they wouldn't be in
-
there crying out to Jehovah. He knew as long as
-
they were well taken care of and had everything they need,
-
there wouldn't be anybody singing there's no God like Jehovah.
-
I've heard it said before, I'd given million dollars to
-
witness Jesus doing that or Jesus doing this. I'd love
-
to see him pray for a blind man and then
-
be able to see. I'll see that one day, I'll
-
see the blind receive their sight. Brothers, there I will
-
be an eyewitness to that I have seen in this lifetime,
-
the dead race to his glory is a dead raiser
-
amen the restore of life. But there's something that'll be
-
impossible for me to see, and that's him, brother Caleb,
-
taking a leather skirt and wearing out the church. If
-
I could empty mine in your bank accounts to get
-
him to come one more time and go to make
-
a church and wear it out, I would gladly do it.
-
But you know what, if he wanted to do it,
-
he'd do it already without being paid to do it.
-
But I would like to be an eyewitness of him
-
cleansing the temple. In fact, he keeps heaven so clean
-
he won't let any uncleanness be there. Holiness is cleanliness,
-
it is. The walls are clean, the floors clean. They say,
-
God looks at the outside and inside. That's exactly right.
-
Let's bow our heads right here, if you would please.
-
Is there anybody in this building today? You know there's
-
some work for him to do in your life. He'll
-
cleanse it. Is there a place in your heart where
-
even you won't go. You got some things hidden there
-
you don't want anybody to know. Here this morning, the
-
Lord's handing you the key, and that look of love
-
is upon his face, and he says, I want to
-
make you clean. Just let me go in that secret place.
-
Brother Nathaniel Jesus cried and said, my father's house should
-
be a house of prayer. Prayerlessness is what gets us
-
into uncleanliness. Prayerlessness is what throws us into filthiness of
-
the flesh and spirit. Is there anybody this building today
-
is say preacher, I'm not a filthy person, and I
-
don't reckon that I'm unclean, but there's some things that
-
I know I need to have taken out of my life.
-
Would you come at this time and kneeling these altars
-
and pray? What are the works of the flesh? What
-
are the works of the flesh? I don't believe it's
-
just these great men of God and these preachers. It's
-
got to be moms and dads and boys and girls too.
-
Right before I preach to you, I knelt down and
-
I say, God, I hand you my heart. Would you
-
look at it?
-
Would you turn it upside down inside out and search
-
me and try me and see if there be any
-
uncleanliness in me? And would you please clean me up
-
it mattered to Jesus that day.
-
It broke his heart.
-
My father's house is supposed to be a house of prayer,
-
but you have made it a din of robbers.
-
You have made it a den of thieves.
