Their Lifetime Was Limited - Pastor J. D. Howell 4-26-2026

Lord, Ammen, we've already shouted, so now we'll be sober minded. Amen,

We'll get down here on earth. Put our feet to

the earth, take our shoes off, put our feet to

the earth. Like Moses, they make connection with sobriety and sincerity.

Here and be sober minded and realize that sometimes there's

things that just need to be dealt with so that

we can go on.

Do y'all believe that? Amen?

Well, if you have your Bibles with you, will you

turn with me to the Book of Psalm. May I

direct your attention to one hundred and forty six and

Versus number one through four. Psalm one hundred and forty

six and Versus number one through four. Our golden text

will be verse number three. Brother Nathaniel, First Samuel, chapter

number eight, you'll be reading verses number five through seven

of that chapter. And Brother Jesse, Proverbs chapter number three,

verses number five and six again below it. We will

be looking at the one hundred and forty six chapter

of the Book of Psalm, and verse number three will

be our golden text. I want to say I was

blessed in a great way during this past Friday Night's

Youth service from the beginning to the end of that service.

It was a wonderful experience for sister Howell, and and

the preaching was just wonderful. Brother Philip had a good

grip on the context of that passage of scripture and

preached it to us in just a wonderful way. And

I thank God for that. Amen, Brother Nathaniel. First Samuel,

chapter number eight, verses number five through seven, my brother,

and said unto him, behold thou art old, and thy

sons walk not in thy ways. Now make us a

king to judge us like all the nations. But the

thing just please Samuel. When they said I'd give us

a king to judge us, and Samuel prayed unto the Lord,

and the Lord said, unto Samuel, hearken unto the voice

of the people, and all that they say unto THEE.

For they have not rejected THEE, but they have rejected me,

that I should not reign over them.

Okay.

So their lifetime was limited, and they understood that the

lifetime of the prophet Samuel was limited as well. And

when they considered their future, they failed to consider God's

part in their future. Their lifetime was limited. They were

thinking of their children and their grandchildren and their futures,

and Brother Philip. They panicked, and rather than trusting God,

they put their trust in mortal beings, rulers, kings and princes.

Brother Jesse, Proverbs chapter number three, verses number five and six.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean

not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways.

Acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.

So the Hebrews brother Nathaniel just read about, we're doing

exactly what Brother Jesse read about just now. They were

not trusting in the Lord. They were leaning to their

own understanding. A stand for the reading of our text.

Psalm chapter number one, forty six, verses number one through four.

The Bible reads like this, Praise ye the Lord. Praise

the Lord, O my soul. While I live well, I

praise the Lord. I will sing praises unto my God

while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes,

nor in the son of man in whom there is

no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth.

In that very day his thoughts perish. Notice verse number four.

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth in

that very day, His thoughts perish. I want to preach

a message the Holy Ghost time. Their lifetime was limited.

Their lifetime was limited, but God is not limited in

any way, and so that is why we should not

put our trust in princes. We should put our trust

in the Lord. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we love and

we praise you. I thank you for the opportunity to

be in the house of the Lord with these people

of light precious faith. I thank you for these prayer

warriors that you have put me amongst. I pray God

that you would help each one to hear what it

is the Spirit of God says unto the church. Help me,

Lord to say the things that you would have me

to say. Sad a God at my mouth, and help

me to say only those things you put in there.

I pray God, Lord, help us to not only hear,

but to heed of this blessed book and its words.

May we depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In

Jesus' name. In the church said, heymen, look at our

golden text again Psalm one forty six and verse number three.

The Bible says, put not your trust in princes, nor

in the son of Man. In whom there is no help.

The Bible said, our help cometh from the Lord. Our

text is found in an Old Testament book of the

Holy Bible, the Book of Psalms. We will be looking

at some verses of scripture in the one hundred and

forty sixth Psalm this morning. I, as a young Christian,

learned that Psalm one forty six through Psalm one fifty

are very special psalms, and I have felt that way

for over thirty something years. Those last five Psalms have

been very special to your pastor, and I know most

of the people in this building can quote a lot

of verses from those last five Psalms. And for the

new converts and new people here, those last five Psalms

are known as the Hallelujah chapters or the Praise the

Lord chapters. In fact, they're in chapter number one forty

six there at the very beginning of that chapter, it

begins with Praise ye the Lord. And you'll notice those

last five chapters, all of them begin with praise ye

the Lord. When you look at this word, it also

means hallelujah. And that's the way a lot of the

saints of God started this service this morning. I could

tell that when Brother Jesse opened the Sunday school hour,

there was a glory and a hallelujah.

In his soul.

When it brought closure to that Sunday school hour, I

could tell there was a glory and a hallelujah in

his soul. As the Saints of God begin to worship

and praise the Lord, I detected that there was a

glory and a hallelujah in the souls of these precious

people of God. And so I put great value in

the praises of the people of God, and ever since

I became a Christian, because I know praise is comely

for the upright, and I know that God inhabits the

praises of his people. And there's been times that I

have looked at these last five chapters before I have

walked out of my office in order to encourage myself

and the Lord and Brother Aaron Wood, I have found

a greater measure of desire to lead this people into

perfect praise. After reading through these last five psalms, Brother

Caleb Brocap, I felt that greater measure to encourage people

to worship the Lord in spite of the current condition

that I was in. If I was sick or just

very busy on the job. No matter my emotional state

of mind, these psalmists had put me into an attitude

of praise. I learned years ago to use the Psalms

during a time of prayer. In fact, it was reading

the Psalm as I prayed that taught me how to pray.

I learned how to hold an audience with the King

by using the words that these Psalms had given to

God's people. And I believe there's people in this building

right now that could raise their hand and say, there's

been times that the Holy Ghost of Heaven has spoke

some words from these last five chapters into my heart

that have encouraged me in times of my life. I

know one of the favorite expressions of the Bethel Hole

in his church is praise the Lord. I hear a

lot of our preachers use it a lot. I hear

a lot of our leadership people using it a lot.

During the service. We encourage one another to do just that,

praise ye the Lord. In the first verse of Someone

forty six, he goes on to tell us, why praise

the Lord, Oh my soul, the praise gets personal. We

should praise the Lord because it is a personal offering

from us unto the Lord. I feel like the Sumus

was right in encouraging us and exhorting us to praise

the Lord for ourself, and so this man had a

praise for himself. This past Friday night, Brother Nathaniel exhorted

to our young people and said, do you have the

Holy Ghost? And if you have the Holy Ghost, wife,

does he not act up within your being sometimes while

you're standing there in that pew area or sitting in

that pew during the singing of the preaching, Why do

you not have your personal experience have come? The only

time the Holy Ghost manifest in your life is during

a time of corporate prayer or public praise, or when

the pastor puts his hands upon you. And so our

praise should be personal. And I thank God for perfect

personal praise. But as you look through these five Psalms,

you will notice there are verses that encourage you as

an individual to show your appreciation to God simply because

of who he is, not only because of what he

has done for you, but because of who he is.

It was one of my daughter in laws recently who said, Papa,

I just want to thank you for being you.

You've done a whole.

Lot of things for us since we have become a

part of this family. But I want to show gratitude

to you for being who you are, because if you

were not who you are, you would not do the

things you do for us. And so the psalmist understood,

we must praise the Lord for who he is. It

doesn't matter how you feel about it. You don't need

to feel an ounce of the power of God in

your life during a service for you to have a

need to praise him. You don't have to have chili

bomps on your arms in the back of your neck

for you to feel the need to praise the Lord.

I praise the Lord for who he is, whether I

feel unworthy or worthy.

Amen, praise the Lord.

So we love these five chapters in this latter part

of the Book of Psalms.

They encourage us.

And it's not long before we begin to read these

and preach about these that the Holy Ghost begins to

manifest among people that love to praise the Lord. So

these psalms are praise psalms, and these psalms include simple

reasons as to why we should praise the Lord.

And one of the reasons.

Is we are to look at the Lord Lord as

someone whom we can trust. If you look at that

third verse of the one hundred and forty six chapter

of the Book of Psalm, it tells us a reason

as to why we should praise the Lord.

It is because we can trust him.

The first part of our Golden text tells us not

to trust in princes. Apparently, these Hebrew people possessed a

strong desire to protect themselves and their families. And I

could understand being pressed sowred by certain family members in

order to protect the family. I could understand the pressure

given to a husband by a wife for the need

of protection and preservation, even for provision. But Brother Tyler Woodin,

they were to shake that off. They were to look

to the Lord as Jehovah Jira, to look to the

Lord as their protector or as their provider. And there's

some things in this building this morning that ought to

be shaken off by some individuals sitting in these pews.

A pressure is present in the life of a few people.

It's a pressure to protect their families. But they are

putting their trust in the wrong people and in the

wrong places, rather than putting their trust in the Almighty God.

Over the years, I have a witnessed people lose out

entirely altogether with the Lord because they put their trust

and a certain leader they put their trust and a

prince if he ward.

They put their.

Trust in a parent, a sibling, an aunt, an uncle,

a pastor, a Sunday school teacher, or somebody that did

not have their best interest in mind, and because they

fooled trusted that person, they ended up losing themselves spiritually

and losing their way. You see, the authors of these

hebrew songs would have had a fresh example of this

very thing taking place, and it was in the actions

of the Hebrews concerning the King of Israel. In First

Samuel chapter number eightentph we see the Israelites making a

bad decision in choosing to put their trust in a prince,

if you would, should I read it again? Our Golden textays,

put not your trust in the princess. And so in

that First Samuel chapter number eighteenth, we see them putting

their trust in a visible, tangible ruler. They're looking for

somebody that can be king, somebody that can lead them

into victory, somebody that can help deliver them out of

their trouble. But because of their sins, they lost that

sense of security that only God can give us. Because

of their sins, they lost their sense of security and safety,

and they took their eyes off the Savior, and they

set their affection on their desires and their sins. We

know the Bible said set your affections on things above,

not on things of the earth. And so these people

took their eyes off the Prince of Peace, and they

focused their attention upon a princely man who stirred taller

than themselves. Listen, just because somebody's a little bit more

intelligent than you, somebody knows a little bit more scripture

than you, or somebody has been in this way a

little bit longer than you, so they say, does not

mean that as somebody you should look to for answers.

I've seen a lot.

Of people dip in the ruby red blood of Jesus

and get born again and become new creatures in Christ Jesus.

But they go to the wrong person.

There and they engage in conversation, and that person knew

enough about the Bible to cause severe damage to that

person's overall spiritual well being. You see, when apostle Paul

said that to the Church of Colossie when he said,

such your affection on things above, not on things of

the earth. And he was addressing a Christian people, them

Christians who were the keeper their heads up and their

minds from focused on heavenly things. We're not supposed to

get focused on our goals of careers, objectives, and earthly pursuits,

of how means of personal interest in all these other

things that we will ultimately end up taking our eyes

out the one who can truly help us, Sir, in

our circumstances and situations and a life. I'm talking about

your Savior. In our Golden Text that last word and

help means solvation. Look at the latter part of that

Golden text with me in whom there is no help,

in whom there is no salvation. Apostle Paul was letting

these believers know that it is in Jesus Christ that

we experience our salvation.

I don't need to be saved once holy. I need

to be saved on a.

Daily basis, every day of my life until my Savior

comes back and takes me to be with him. I'm

in need of the Savior, and this Savior that you

and I have.

He never lost his focusing on humanity.

Before the very foundation of the world, he had you

on his mind. Whenever he faced the crosser, he faced

it shortly, he despised the shamer. He endured greater contradiction

of sinners because of you. You can trust him, because

he never lost the focuser on you. That I want

you to know. These Hebrew people, they did not understand that,

even though God had allowed them to have king, as

the other nations did, that this man in time will

lose a focuser concerning the best for them. The king

Saul habitually got to the place where pleasing himself and

not the people of.

God was what mattered.

Oh how they leaned on him, Oh how they stacked

her up, their trust on him. That I want you

to know King Sarah disappointed them. And that's what Apostle

Paula was telling these Corinthiana believers in the Church of Colossa,

the Church at Galicia, the Church at Thessalonaka, the Church

at Emphasis.

He was telling them, dont.

Lose your focus owner the Lord, because if you watch people,

you will be disappointed. People will let you down, will

disappoint you.

You cannot put your trust in the Lord.

One of the reasons for that he is their timer

is limited. And that's what God spoke into my heart.

The title of this message is their lifetimer is limited.

I want you to know them Hebrew people, that.

They might have a louder themselves to come under the

leadership of Solah. But sol would los her his life,

just like her any other mortal man. It's like the

members of the Catholic Church. Every few years they have

to elect a new official, they have to apport a

new paper.

Their trust is in that man.

Their trust is in their religion, their trust is in

their ceremonies, their trust is in their riches.

But the trust is in the Lord. And I come

to tell.

Somebody today you cannot pay attention to what others are saying.

That, you cannot look to them in high regard and

pay not.

Attention to what the Word of God says, because their

time he is limited. Jesus never lost his view of you.

He never lost sight of your salvation. We sing the

song He's the God of my salvation, Yes he is.

He's the Lord of my salvation, Yes he is. Could

you show your hand this morning and wave it up

toward heaven and say, Lord, you are the God of

my salvation, and because of that, I can put my

trust in you. In others, there is no safety. In others,

there is no security. In others, there is no help,

There is no salvation, there is no stronghold. Israel had

asked for a king like the king of the nations

around them, and when they did that, Brother Nathaniel, they

rejected their salvation.

God took it personally.

When Samuel brought the matter before the Lord, the Lord said, Samuel,

obviously they have recognized that your lifetime is limited.

But it is not that they are rejecting you. They

aren't rejecting me.

Now, that seems very disturbing to summon this building, to

think that people that call themselves God's children could choose

to have a man over them rather than God and

God's man.

Come on, but it happened. I can't believe it happened.

It did.

And what a lot of people don't realize when God

granted them this petition and their request. God is the

one that chose Saul. He was not elected through an

electoral process. He was not chosen by the Israelites. God

selected this man and whenever he was chosen, everybody noticed

he stood head and shoulders above everyone else.

And sister Howell, there's no.

Doubt they went home saying one to another, do we

not have the greatest king that we could have? Do

we not have the one of greatest stature, the one

of greatest strength?

In fact, when David was.

Mourning the death of Saul and his son Jonathan, he

described them as being as strong as as lines, and

swifter than lies, and as swift as eagles.

I mean he had to reach into the animal.

Kingdom to describe these great men. But sister woot and

they were mortals, they were not immortal beings. Find that

Saul let the nation of Israel down. And that's what

I want to tell you in this building today. I

want you to know that people will disappoint you, and

they will let you down. We find them, children of Israel.

We're crying for peace. In the days of Samuel, and

here in the days of the Apostle Paul, they were

crying for peace. But we know what the prophet Isaiah

had to say about that. He said, there is no peace.

Saith my God to the wicked, and there will be

no peace in your marital relationships. There will be no

peace in your child parent relationships. There will be no

peace in your families if your trust is not in

the Lord. I'm telling you some of you are going

against the grain of the Word of God concerning spiritual authority,

concerning the Godhead, concerning church leadership, and the end result

of that is calamity and chaos, because you're putting your

trust in things other than the Lord. If you consult

with the Lord on a personal basis today, it will

be by digging in the scriptures and searching them until

you find eternal life. Because if you just flip through

them haphazardly and stumble across a verse or two that

seems relative in the moment, you will think you have deliberance.

You will think that you have eternal life. But you

must search out to your own salvation with fear and trembling.

You rightly divide the Word of Truth. And in that

word there are things that have been said by our Lord.

And in this word there.

Is safety, and there is security, there is protection, and

there is provision. And I want you to know the

words of men will fall to the ground, but the

words of God, they are the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The words of God are unchangeable. They will never be revised.

Come on, they will never be altered, they will never

be amended. And that's why these somemeisters could say, when

you're done praising the Lord, I want you to understand,

you better not put your trust in anyone else, because

you will never be able to offer to anyone else's

perfect praise as you can offer to the Lord.

And there's a lot of people nowadays.

They want to take matters into their own hands. They

want to use their own colonel earthly wisdom in matters

and not consultant with the Lord. It doesn't matter if

you put your trust in princess, such as attorneys, a psychologists, psychiatrist, doctors, medication,

their parents, teachers, legislators, presidents, Princess, Hey, it doesn't matter.

They are not gonna offer her the things that God

can offer you. And if they lie and say they're

able to offer the things to you that God can.

Supply her, they are a liar.

We know Saw could not bring to those people what

they needed.

And I want to tell you.

This morning, the things that you need, Holy Jesus can't

provide the things that you need. Holy Jesus can't supply

often till the Howl tribe. I say, my time is limited,

I said, even concerning the things of the work of

God in Label Florida is limited. I said, I recognize that.

I realize that I told them last night. I said,

you know, I've got a vision that God has put

in my heart for this people. But I know I'm

operating on time, and I know that time will eventually

run out. And this is why we must work while

it is yet day. We know the night is drawing nigh,

and we are laboring brother steric literally at sunset. Now,

y'all can tell this is the end of the last days.

You can tell that people are guilty of perilous play.

They love pleasures more than they love God. They'd rather

put their trust in something somebody said in a TikTok

devotional than what the Word of God declares. They'd rather

put their trust in a little sermon that by a

prominent prince or a prominent preacher. Then put their trust

in the whole counsel of God. Am I preaching up

in here on a Sunday morning. I know we're not

awake yet, But they like to put their trust in princes,

and the Israel lies. They could tell you you shouldn't

do that. We tried it. It doesn't work. And you know,

there's a lot of people. They're crying for peace and safety.

They've got peace treaties, they're signing them right and left.

They've got peace counsels.

I'm telling you, they got peace symbols, they got peace pipes,

they got peace punch, they got peace prophets, they got

all kinds of things. I'm telling you what speaking peace

over the world. But Isaiah the prophets said there is

no peace. God says there is no peace to the wicked,

to those that do not put their trust in the Lord,

there will be no peace. So I got to thinking

about this the Psalmist immediately he says, put not your

trust in princes. So when you think of a prince,

you think of an individual with power, Think of somebody

this wealthy, You think of somebody that's got influence.

And that's what they had in King Saul. But it

was not enough.

Just like I was telling the Howl boys, I said,

you know, brother Platt had a vision for this people.

And brother Platt labored for about thirty something years and

he didn't see things come to pass that he believed

would come to pass. But if he had a tearot

in life up to this day, he would be rejoicing

greatly in spirit, saying, I have beheld things come to

pass that I hoped for, that I wished for, that

I prayed for. But if his hope had been in

his own power, if his hope had had been in

his own strength, or even in the previous pastors or

preachers that he said under, that his dreams would have

been dashed.

But because his hope was in.

The Lord, God sent a Howell family down there, and

God began to send some other families to LaBelle, Florida

see brother Plat's dreams being fulfilled or coming to fruition.

And I told the how will preach her brethren?

And Brother Jeremiah, I said, in twenty thirty years, y'all

are gonna say to one another, I wish Dad could

be here to see it. Because he dreamed of this.

He talked about this. He said, our affection on these things.

He looked for bigger things like Abraham did. He looked

for greater things. He believed his God. He trusted in

his God, and I told him, I said, I really

and truly believe, like brother Plat, that God has beautiful

things for the people in this building. I believe God

got beautiful things for those that are part of the

best of Holiness Church family, those that are the part

of His family.

I believe that, don't you.

I couldn't have confidence that a wealthy prince, or an

influential prince, or a powerful prince.

Could make it happen.

I can't have confidence altogether that one pastor will make

it happen. But I can put my trust in the Lord.

I can have confidence in the Lord. I can believe

that he is able to do exceedingly a buddy ly

ba bah that we should ask for.

Take amen.

So in this psalm we're encouraged to praise him for

his trustworthiness. I'm not gonna praise a man because he

had enough money to build a tabernacle, because if I

put my trust in that man, God can allow the

works of his hands to be destroyed to prove that

if God didn't build it, it cannot stand except the

Lord build the house, the laborer's labor in vain that

build it. Unless the Lord keep the city of the

watchman wakes, but in vain, I can't say, you know,

I put my trust in the Bethel hole in his

church work, simply cause during certain periods of time, brother

Jeremy Howell was our watchman, our brother Jeremy Howe.

Was our builder.

We can say I appreciate what Brother Jeremy Howell did

for us, but our trust better be in the Lord,

because this thing began before brother Jeremy Howell got here,

and this thing will continue on after brother Jeremy Howell

is gone. And I know a lot of preachers wanted

to be self centered, they wanted to be all about him.

But I'm pushing y'all on down the road twenty and

thirty years and letting you know God will take care

of you in that day, just like He's taken care

of us.

In this day.

God will give you pastors according to his heart. And

if we trust that it is the plan of God

to let this work be established until His kingdom comes,

then it will be established. But we cannot lean upon

our own understanding. We can't shove I can for the

pastrict into place. We can't shove our candidate for the

deaconship in the placer. We can't promote our moneyman in

the place. We let the Lord build the house. And

I thank God for what this Hebrew Simons said, put

not your trust in Princess. Whenever brother Philip was battling cancer,

I was thankful for the doctor, as thankful as Paul

was for the beloved position Luca. But I must ad meet,

I was never fully trusting her of the actions, the understanding,

or the knowledge of the earth left physician. My trust

was he in the Great Physician, because he's the God

of our salvation. Now, this is a pastoral style message today,

and you can't really preach up a shout, not that

I would want one, but this will help you in

the days ahead when you get that phone call from

that person that said, I hear you're following the scriptures now,

and you're aligning the actions of your life and your

family with a word of God. And I hear that

you're keeping the statutes and the ordinances and the precepts

of the Word of God. Brother Jesse explaining that so

well this morning. I remember the first time I ran

across that years ago. I was amazed at that almost

every verse mentioned something about the rules of God. Amen,

are you all in this place this morning, or is

your mind already at the chicken buffet, Princess. I remember

preaching the people that started out good. They started out

with a made up mind. They were excited, they were

zealous of good works. I believe really they had become

a new creature in Christ. Jesus Apostle Paul put it

this way concerning some he had been an eyewitness to

their conversion. He said, there was a time in your

life you would have given you a very own eye

ball for my sake or on my behalf. But something happened,

something changed, And this is where the pastor wants to

talk to you. Let me slow down and talk to

you for a minute. The Bible said evil communications corrupt

good manners, and I try to tell them the Bible said,

evil associations destroys those good manners. And as you make

contact with people and foster that relationship and communicate on

a weekly er daily basis with that person, eventually they'll

plant maggots in that mind, and you'll have maggots in

that mind and it'll be eaten away. That's your spiritual sanity,

and things that they say to you will begin to

take a stronghold in that mind, and if you're not careful,

you'll find yourself being duped or deceived by their little

one liners or them little show weren't simple sentences that

they speak. That makes you question what God's doing in

your life, that makes you question the actions that you

have taken in your dress code, that makes you question

your faithfulness to the House of God, that makes you

question your selection of choices, that makes you question your lifestyle,

makes you question your new life choices.

Those people will do that.

They will plant maggots in that mind, and those maggots

will grow to be in fies, and before long you

will have an infestation in your mind of nothing but felt.

Your mind will be a garbage dump, and you won't

be able to think clearly, and you'll come to a

place where you'll say, God, deliver me from these thoughts.

I'm so confused.

And the reason why that happened to some people in

our past and nobethel Horness Church past, is because they

wanted to put their trust in princes so bad. They

wanted to have a father daughter relationship so bad. They

wanted to have an employ your employee relationship that was

so wonderful, so bad they wanted to be able to

go to the company Christmas parties and not drink while

others drink.

They just just wanted to be part of this world

so bad.

I remember telling one young woman, I said, listen, God

spoke to me tonight when I was annointed, And I said,

you're listening to her a whole lot more than you're

listening to your pastor your elders, and what the Word

of God is.

Saying to you.

You're giving more heed to what they are saying than

what the Word of God is saying to you. And

you're at the point now where you're disregarding certain key doctrines,

essential doctrines that are found in the Word of God because.

Somebody shacking up told you it's not so.

And she went from being a good, solid Christian person

that had embraced the holiness, lifestyle, truth and righteousness altogether.

She found it all together lovely. She was in love

with a savior, but she got to just talking to

family and they got to feed their little one liners

and brother Nathaniel one day she come to the church

and she said, brother, how could you get sister how?

And I said yes, And she said, I think I've

talked to him too long. I said, what are you

talking about? She said, well, I've been listening to you

when you exort. I've been listening to you when you testify,

when you preach. She said, God is definitely calling my number.

And I can tell you don't know exactly what I've

been doing, but I've been sneaking around and talking to

people that really aren't living right, but they're religious and

they call themselves Christians. And she said, I've been talking

about the Bible, been talking about dress codes and standards,

been talking about this and that. And she said, I

asked them to pray for me because I said, you

know what, Brother Howell's preaching this. The Word of God

says this when he's preaching. Y'all are telling me otherwise.

I said, hold on, let me interject here. And you're

telling me that you went to a woman that is

shacking up with a man, A woman that was raised

in a holiness church, a woman whose grandpa and daddy

was a holiness preacher, A woman that knew to do

good and it chose not to do it. A woman that,

even though she was shacking with a man, was getting

up on the platform singing specials in the church, most

of the time, getting to church an hour late, most

of the time, making a church only in time to

go to the buffet with the family. You mean to

tell me, after all the blood, sweat and tears that

we poured into you and your family, and all the

countless hours we spent around the altars, and you're going

to talk to somebody like that and asked them to

explain the scriptures to you and ask them to pray

with you.

And she said yes.

I told her, said, I'm so confused, and I got

my aunt my mama around, said I'm so confused about

what's right. I need you all to pray for me.

And she said when they prayed for miss something moving,

something came in me. And Sister How, you know it's true.

She looked at Sister How and I She said, I'm

afraid I'm possessed. And I said, you said it. We

didn't you went. We didn't tell you to go. We

didn't tell you not to go. We just preached to you.

We didn't try to keep you from your family. We

just told you what the Bible said. You know what

you can take, you know what you can't take. You

know who you can be around you know who you

shouldn't be around. We've done what we should do to

help you, and you went and got yourself possessed, so

you're saying. So we prayed for about twenty or thirty minutes.

We prayed until she said it's gone. It's gone, it's gone,

it's gone. Well, for about two years she did good,

and then one night I felt something while I was preaching,

and I got really burdened and I said something about

evil associations, corrupt good manners, evil communications, corrupt good manners.

At the church, we went to the McDonald's. She met

me at the kiosk. She said, do you know what

I've been doing?

I said no. She said, well I know God had

my number tonight.

She wasn't that kind of person, you know, to take

great pleasure and saying you know what I've been doing.

You know, she didn't get a thrill out of it.

She was scared to death. And she said, well, I

need to tell you and sister how something. She said,

I've done it again. I've been going around these same

people and she said, I've had them pray with me,

and she said, you know what, some of the stuff

they're starting to say makes sense, and she said, I'm

starting to question certain things.

Listen.

I have questioned certain circumstances in life, like burying an

infant grandchild. I have questioned certain circumstances like bearying a

best friend in Jean Wooton. I even laughed till I

had tears flowing down my face yesterday as I talked

about Jeene Wooton.

When that sciatic nerve.

Would act up, it didn't matter if we was in

cracker barrel, flor Ella's, or in the middle of a

funeral church service. When that siatic nerve acted up, he

stiffed that leg, grab his hip and screamed out, oh

my side, No, it was sister wound. He'd lay out

right there in cracker barrel. Oh God, he'd say. When

he died, I said, God, I don't understand it, but

I don't question you in a way that I doubt

you or don't trust you.

I still trust you Lord.

When Brother Platte's young son died, Brother Platt said when

the Sheriff's department called him, he walked outside. His sister

Platte began an emotional breakdown. Said he walked outside and

looked up to heaven. Son number three to die under

the age of thirty. This one died young, in his

early twenties. The only one that had ever been raised

in a hole in his church, the joy of his

old age, the one that he had raised right the

one that he had hope in, the one that might

be a hole in his preacher, the one that was

raised right here, he said. He walked outside and said, Lord,

I don't understand it, but I don't question you.

But I love you and I trust you. That's what

I said.

Whenever's Nathaniel, your brother was holding Jepta, and that heart

stopped beating. I walked outside that room and stood in

that hallway. I took a hard left to see if

anybody's down there, and I took three paces. I said, Lord,

I'll never understand this one. When that druggy couple just

two doors down who conceived out of wedlock, and the

daddy don't even want.

To be there.

He's hoping the baby dies, but that baby's living. But

I said, I still trust your Lord because he's a

Romans eight twenty eight god, and he works all things

together for our good because we are those that are

chosen the called according to his purpose. I still trust

you Lord it sister how the Holy Ghost reminded me

this morning. It wasn't but a couple months later. Brother,

how you remember this? I stood up and the Holy

Ghost moved on me while I was preaching.

And I speak as a fool.

I said, you've listened to Mama more, and you've listened

to the words of God. You've listened to Mama more,

and you listen to your elder Irish woot. And you've

listened to Mama more and you listened to your pastor. Thus,

saith God, what are you going to do when you

don't have her any longer? She continued on listening to

Mama until one night she walked out of that little

storefront church. And God put it on my heart to

walk around the back of the storefront, daring a mighty

move of God. There was nothing said to offender. She

let me know that when she left. I still got

the screenshot. Here's what she say said, brother, how you're

the best pastor I ever had, probably will be the

best pastor I ever will have. And she said, you

and sister how been good to our family? No hard feelings.

I love you and sister how dearly that I must

go with my family. And I went back my mind

when God said, what are you gonna do when you

ain't got her? The Holy Ghost title dis messaged their

lifetime was limited. I thought of this example. After the

Holy Ghost gave me this title, she went out for Mama.

She went back a different way because the things Mama

had said, Brother Jesse. In less than a year and

a half, Mama was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Another year

and a half later, Mama was dead. Listen. The Holy

Ghost told her one night, stop putting you trust in them,

Stop taking them phone calls and letting them mess with

your mind, Stop taking them house visits, letting them come

in there and set on your couch and destroy your

marriage and your family. The Holy Ghost tried to help her,

but instead she put her trust in princes. If you

would she put her trust in family, Well, she put

her trust. Are y'all with me in influence? Who's in

your inner circle? Who's influencing you? Who are you allowed

to speak into your life? I have wondered often, Sister Wooten, Sister,

how has she ever thought about that night? God let

her know in so many words, her lifetime is limited.

And if she has realized God tried to tell her

when you go out for her, you're not going to

have her for three or four years anyway, you think

you're going to have her another thirty years. Why has

it she turned around and come back to God because

she continues to put her trust in Princess. No names

have been given. I pray for that family on a

daily basis. But I told that family, I said, I

come to South Florida because your great granddaddy's and your

granddaddy's prayed for this area, and I'm here to do

what you want do. Has that earned respect for me

in their eyes? If it has, it's a secret respect,

And I feel like sharing this with you. Sampson put

his trust in Delilah, and Delilah failed him. Jacob put

his trust in Leban, and Leban failed him. Isaac put

his trust in Jacob and Rebecca, and they failed him.

When Esau began to cry out father, father, Isaac, Daddy listen, Daddy, listen,

that wasn't me, that was Jacob. I'm sure positive Isaac's heartbroke.

And said, I never thought.

Rebecca to do that to me, because Rebecca wanted to

get what Rebecca wanted. She manipulated and deceived. Isaid because

Leban wanted Jacob to do what he wanted him to do.

Leban deceived Jacob and brother Nathaniel. I'm telling you there

is a spiritual Delilah in some people's life, who is

in this building right now. This will be the most

critical message for you in the next three to five years,

The Bible said, the adulterous will hunt for the precious life.

They know these new converts have prayed. They know they're

still not well established. They know their fresh meat and

fresh blood. They know they're just now learning to get

strong legs and to walk on them legs. They know

who to call, they know who to text. I'll tell

you about a young preacher, it's one of the tragic

stories of the Bible, who was quick to do the

will of God and to be obedient to the Lord,

willing to do what most men were unwilling to do.

And brother Samuel, he went declared judgment upon a king,

and the altar was rent. Great mighty signs from heaven

were revealed to those that could have doubted, to those

that didn't trust in the Lord. God proved that he

was trustworthy God proved that he was God. But as

that young preacher made his journey home, an old preacher,

an old prophet saw him pass them by, and the

old prophet begin to communicate with him. They'll tell you

they're religious too. They'll tell you they got a Bible

in their teacher's death too. They'll tell you they got

a Bible in their trucks glovebox too. But they also

have a twelve pack of beer in that cooler in

the back of the truck too.

But if I've.

Ever felt the Holy Ghost speak to me about a sermon,

it's this morning sermon. And I exhorted for forty five

minutes before preaching this message, so I'm more out. But

I want to push a little bit longer and tell

you you can put your trust in the Lord, and

you better put your trust in this word. Because the

only thing that keeps me and Brother Thomas steered at

others from compromising and walking away from truth unintentionally is

this book. The Bible said, the heart is deceitful above

all things, desperately wicked. Who can know it? I fully

trusted in that young woman. I believed with everything within

me that I would reunite that woman with her granddaddy

and great granddaddy in heaven. I remember the service that

we left when brother Wootone and I with our wives

and families went to Cracker Barrel and we ate between services.

I pulled out on State Roade eighty about where you

had that accident. Your mama fell asleep. For some reason,

she fell asleep. I had a vision of that young

woman receiving the Holy ghost and the Holy ghosts fell

in the cab of that truck, and I started singing,

God rides on the water, and I saw that young

lady shouting and the power of God. It wasn't but

a couple of weeks later it come to pass. But

then she got to talking to the wrong people, and

their lifetime was limited. But God his words forever settled.

His word lives on. His word continues on, his church,

continues his truth and endure it to all generations. His

word stands forever. Put your trust in the word of God.

I heard Brother Bill Houston say it. I've heard other

preachers say it. People have got so spiritually disillusioned that

they have said, I don't care what the Bible says.

I know what the spirit showed me the word and

the spirit always agree. And if there's every time that

the spirit disagrees with the word, guests, which is right

the word? And I'm telling some precious good people this morning.

Oh be careful little ears what you hear? Be careful

little eyes what you see? Brother Jesse, would you come

to the piano, my brother, sister woot And that young

lady was too trusting. She trusted people that were not trustworthy.

If this security team at this church is watching you,

it is simply because you cannot be trusted. And there's

never been a case of false accusation here. It's you've proved.

To them you're not trustworthy.

So if you're on that list we had removed one,

we've already added him back on it.

Because of actions. Are y'all with me?

We sing it in that red back chyminal, trusting fully,

trusting in the Savior's love, doing what I can for

Heaven's holy dove. It's when the honeymoon's over, when that

new convert has the newness, we're off.

All the excitement.

They get jobs, they get established, they get protection, they

get provision, they get a paycheck, they get a for

one game, they get benefits, they get insurance, they get settled,

and they put their trust.

I've made it, I've arrived.

It's as to how they put their trust in other

things besides what they so desperately needed when they move

there to get help. And then pastors' words just become

ordinary words. The teacher's words just become words that fall

to the ground.

A move of.

God just becomes an expected ordinary thing. Beautiful services just

become commonplace. And then they go out there and they

listen to what the guy or girl says at the

water cooler on a job during break time. I'm gonna

tell you I've never made any enemies on the job.

I have refused to discuss holding his standards on the job.

For one reason. My God wouldn't want it. He wants

me to tell them.

About simple salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. Then

once they get saved, they'll understand the things that can

only be spiritually deserned. Number two, my employer wouldn't appreciate

me talking about holding his standards on his watch while

punched in and on his time. Let's stand this morning, Well, preacher,

they've moved here, they're coming here, they've been here three years.

They've been here four years, they've been here five years,

they've been here six years, they've been here seven years. Listen,

that doesn't mean anything, because any one of us, whether

we've been saved three days or thirty something years, any

one of us could begin to put our trust in

something other.

Than the Lord.

So, Sampson, how did it feel when you realize.

What broke his heart? More than anything? He couldn't trust.

Her more than the scars on his wrist from a struggle,

more than the fresh haircut brother Ethan, I feel like

I can trust you and your brothers, right, y'all trustworthy.

But in this family, the church family, we've learned since

to how there's just some people we can't trust. And

I thought today about Judas.

My word, he was a thief.

He held the bag, He controlled the finances of Jesus's ministry,

so to speak, and Jesus knew he was pulling coins

out of the bag, and the very thing that he

sold Jesus out for were coins. But Jesus would let

that man dwindle, that serp, if there was ever one,

dwindled and supplies to nothing. And then when he needed

to pay his taxes. Sister How, he sent the guys

that he could trust out there with baitless hooks to

bring in the coins he needed. My heart breaks because

I'm hopeful for our church. I'm hopeful for the growth.

I thank God for the development here of the life.

I thank God for just everything he's doing. But I'd

be lying to you if I told you otherwise. And

I truly feel like the saboteurs at work, and that

there's about to be an attempt of a hijacking. And

Sister How Well, time will tell if I can trust

my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Now? This sight to put us on our knees right here?

It breaks my heart when I realize a man that

used to preaching this poolpit has been accused in the

general public of cussing. The accusations have it come from

these pews. If these pews could talk, they'd say, well,

the only thing we've seen is worship and praise. But

the people of the public, they're more honest about what

they've seen. And their report is he preached for Brother

How and he stood out there on that city block,

weekend after weekend after weekend, preaching but now he's walking

around cussom. Now, I tell you if I did that,

if I start doing that tomorrow, I'm gonna lose every

one of your trust and confidence. And it'll be only

the miracle of God and the mercy of God if

I ever preach again, Because how is anybody gonna take

me seriously? Because that's his precious book and he has

to be able to trust you with it. This is

why I tell guys and girls, when you get into ministry,

you better take it seriously. Are y'all listening to Pastor?

Your children need to be able to trust you to

walk on this journey all the days of your life.

Brother Philip, what's happened in that young preacher's life is

as to how they live holding us for a year,

and then the dad and the mom decide to struggle

and they live worldliness for two or three months. Then

supposedly they pray, And now nobody trusts the Mannor's ministry.

Why wouldn't they? So we need soldiers and listen and

service for the king and the kingdom, not for Beth

the wholiness only, but for the King and the kingdom

that we can trust. And I want to say to

every person young and old alike. Time will tell. Could

we trust you, Brother Jesse, brother Nathaniel, y'all sing this song.

I want us to bow our head, I want us

to close our eyes. I want to ask the young mothers.

Can we trust you to pray for your husband? Can

we trust you to bring them children up in the

nurture and ammonition of the Lord? Can we trust you

that you really believe the Word of God and what

it says? Young people? Can we trust you that you really,

really and truly are not pretending, and that you love

God's words above and beyond the words of men. If

Brother Howell's words were to ever contradict the word of God,

that you would choose the word of God over Brother

Howell's words, can we trust you to hold to the

word of God in that great measure? Some of you,

you've done things that have caused us not to trust you, which.

I wonder.

Could we kneel in the altar right now if somebody

needs to pray, Could we kneel in the altar right

now and pray and ask God to help us. I

know I can trust him, and I thank God for that.

That's who I put my trust in. I can't trust

in chariots, I can't trust in horses, I can't trust

in mighty men. I can't put my trust in emperors

or kings. Brother Philip preached about Daniel. Daniel was a

prince among princes, a president among princes, and Daniel.

Put his trust in the Lord.

Had he put his trust in emperors and kings, he

wouldn't have survived four kingdoms, or however many it was.

But David put his trust Dan, you'll put his trust

in the Lord. Daniel put his trust in the Lord

and survived several several kingdoms, through several kingdoms,
