  1. Again.

  2. We're going to be looking at Mark chapter number one,

  3. verse number thirty five as our golden text. Brother Nathaniel,

  4. you'll be reading James chapter number five, verses number seventeen

  5. and eighteen as our first co text, and Brother Jesse

  6. Daniel chapter number six and verse number ten. Brother Nathaniel,

  7. would you read that, my brother James, chapter number five,

  8. Verses number seventeen and eighteen. Elias was a man subject

  9. to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly

  10. that it might not rain. And it rained not on

  11. the earth by the space of three years and six months.

  12. And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and

  13. the earth brought forth her fruit. A mortal man prayed,

  14. and it ceased to rain. A mortal man prayed, and

  15. it began to reign again, because a mortal prayed to

  16. an immortal heavenly father, a mortal being communicated with an

  17. immortal being, Brother Jesse Daniel, chapter number six, Verse number ten,

  18. My brother.

  19. Now, when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he

  20. went into his house, and his windows being opened in

  21. his chamber, toward Jerusalem. He kneeled upon his knees three

  22. times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his

  23. God as he did afore time.

  24. Amen, I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost

  25. titled The Purpose of Prevailing Prayer The Purpose of Prevailing Prayer.

  26. Years ago, I read a book that Charles Fenny wrote

  27. on prevailing prayer. I have not read that book in

  28. probably twenty years. I know it's been at least eighteen

  29. and a half years since I read that book. I

  30. can't tell you anything that was written in that book

  31. other than this statement Charles Finny said, prevailing prayer is

  32. effectual prayer. That is prayer which attains the blessing that

  33. it seeks. It is that prayer which effectually moves God Again.

  34. Between eighteen and a half and twenty years ago, I

  35. read a book written by Charles Finny on the subject

  36. of prevailing prayer, and I believe way back then I

  37. gained an understanding of the importance of prevailing prayer. I

  38. thought nothing of that book until last night, and I

  39. know no other words of that book than what I

  40. just read to you now. But I know that the

  41. Holy Ghost of Heaven spoke to me to preach to

  42. this people the purpose of prevailing prayer and there's no

  43. doubt Charles, Grants and Finny understood the purpose of prevailing prayer.

  44. May we stand for the reading of our golden texts.

  45. Mark chapter number one and verse number thirty five. If

  46. you haven't say amen. The Bible says that in the morning,

  47. rising up a great while before day, he went out

  48. and departed into a solitary place, and their prayed. And

  49. in the morning, rising up a great while before day,

  50. he went out and departed into a solitary place, and

  51. their pray and their prayed. Let's look at the latter

  52. three words of that verse. And their prayed, and their prayed,

  53. he went into a solitary place, and their prayed. Let's pray.

  54. Heavenly Father, we love him, We praise you. We thank

  55. you for the opportunity to come into your house this morning.

  56. I thank you for this people of light, precious faith God,

  57. these people that have a purpose for prevailing prayer. Lord,

  58. these people that have a purpose for gathering today, for

  59. assembling together in this place that is designated.

  60. For prayer and praise. We pray Lord.

  61. That you would anoint this people and set a guard

  62. at their ears and help them to hear what the

  63. spirit of God says or to the church, God, set

  64. a guard at my mouth, and help me to say

  65. the things you would have me to say. Nothing more

  66. or less. We pray God that we would hear and

  67. heed the word that is spoken unto us by your spirit.

  68. Today we'll give you praise, honor, and glory. And may

  69. we depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus' name.

  70. In the church said amen again, looking at our golden

  71. text Mark chapter number one and verse number thirty five.

  72. And in the morning, rising up a great while before day,

  73. he went out and departed into a solitary place, and

  74. their prayed. Our text is found in a New Testament

  75. book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Mark was

  76. written by John Mark to summon this building. The man

  77. John Mark means nothing, while to others in this building,

  78. the very name of John Mark sparks hope in your heart,

  79. because the Bible students and the Bible readers in this

  80. building today will recognize this man as a child of

  81. God who, for a small space of time in his life,

  82. was as unstable as water. And the reason for this

  83. instability was because this man did not develop a prayer life. Now,

  84. the Bible does not altogether state that. But after studying

  85. this topic this morning and looking at the scriptures, I

  86. was able to determine that this man lacked something in

  87. his life at one time. At some time, this man

  88. lacked power with Jesus Christ.

  89. To withstand the enemy.

  90. At some time in this man's life he was unable

  91. to endure hardness as a good soldier. Well, we know

  92. that prayer warriors are able to endure hardness as good soldiers.

  93. So what was it that was wrong in this very

  94. special man's life. Again, this man is the author of

  95. the Second Gospel, Saint Mark's Gospel. Now I want you

  96. to think of the significance of that that this man

  97. is used mightily by the Lord later on in his life.

  98. What allowed him.

  99. To be the candidate to put pen to parchment and

  100. to give us this second Gospel? I believe the man

  101. learned a lesson that his mother had prayed earnestly that

  102. he might learn. And I've heard some preaching over the

  103. last couple of nights that let me know that there's

  104. people that are listening but are not learning. And I've

  105. heard some preaching that has indicated that there are people

  106. that are queerly developing, meaning they are not developing properly,

  107. they are developing abnormally. We heard tongues in interpretation as

  108. it indicated to us that there was more than one

  109. or two in that condition or in that state of mind.

  110. I'm not surprised when you get between seventy five and

  111. eighty people together. There is no doubt in my mind

  112. there is a handful of people that are not praying.

  113. There's no doubt in my mind that there's a full

  114. of people that are not giving it. They're all every

  115. day of their life. There's no doubt in my mind

  116. that there's not that there's people in the building whom

  117. are not interested at all in worshiping and praising the

  118. Lord with their brothers and sisters of light precious faith.

  119. In that very moment, they're just warm bodies sitting on

  120. a pew. So was John Mark at some point in

  121. his life. In fact, because of the connection that his

  122. praying mother had with the Apostles, john Mark received an

  123. invitation to accompany the Great Apostle Paul and Barnabas during

  124. their first missionary journey.

  125. There's no doubt.

  126. The record is clear that this man was able to

  127. accompany the Great the upgreat the Great Apostle Paul. Now,

  128. I can't imagine how that would be for somebody to

  129. attach themselves to the ministry of the Apostle Paul, and

  130. for the Book of Acts to let us know that

  131. this man was in fact present on this missionary journey.

  132. But because this man was not where he needed to be,

  133. he was unable to complete the mission trip.

  134. And it is save for us to assume the life.

  135. Of a missionary or a companion to the Great Apostle

  136. Paul wasn't exactly what John Mark expected it to be,

  137. and something caused him to go home. Was it the

  138. opposition that the missionaries faced? Was it the verbal and

  139. physical persecution that caused him to turn tail and run?

  140. If so, why was he unable to endure hardness as

  141. a good soldier as Paul and Barnabas were doing. There

  142. is no doubt in our mind whatsoever that the Holy

  143. Ghost enabled and equipped the Apostle Paul and Barnabas to

  144. finish that which God had told them to start.

  145. And so I propose he a prayer life.

  146. Perhaps he muttered a prayer here and there, but did

  147. he really communicate with the Lord Jesus the way he

  148. needed to. I don't believe this man had an active

  149. and a daily prayer life.

  150. Paul and Barnabas were mortals.

  151. They were men of flesh and blood and bone, just

  152. as he was. But there was no doubt in my

  153. mind as I looked through the Gospels and looked through

  154. the Book of Acts and consider the life of John Mark,

  155. that these men were different than him.

  156. These men were prayer warriors.

  157. And I feel like John Mark was not a prayer warrior,

  158. just like several in this building this morning are not

  159. prayer warriors. One of the leaders of the Early Church,

  160. in his epistle, he penned these words, and they're found

  161. in James chapter number five, verses number seventeen and eighteen.

  162. It says Elijah was a man subt like passions as

  163. we are, and he prayed earnestly that.

  164. It might not rain, And it rained not on.

  165. The earth by the space of three years and six months.

  166. And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain again,

  167. and the earth brought forth her fruit. In other words,

  168. Elijah had been a mortal man, just as John Mark

  169. was at the time of his desertion. But the Bible

  170. clearly states that Elias or Elijah was a praying man.

  171. It's evident some people in this building today feel that

  172. prayer is important, while others feel it not to be

  173. very important. But the great Man of God, the Prophet

  174. of Fire some call him Elijah, believed the fervent and

  175. fiery prayer of the righteous man to be an effectual

  176. or prevailing prayer, and he believed it needed to be

  177. offered by a righteous person. We know the Bible is

  178. accurate and clear stating that God hereth not the prayer

  179. of sinners.

  180. And so John Mark was not a sinner.

  181. But John was not one that was busy about the

  182. father's business, as it appeared he was. You see, John

  183. Mark would have known the power of prevailing prayer, but

  184. he was unwilling to participate in prevailing prayer.

  185. There's no doubt about it.

  186. In Acts chapter number twelve, we read the record of

  187. a prayer meeting which was being held at the home

  188. of his mother. Again, a prayer meeting that was being

  189. held at the home of John Mark's mother, and verse

  190. number five of that chapter tells us the purpose of

  191. the prayer meeting, the purpose for the prevailing prayer. Acts

  192. chapter number twelve and verse number five. Like this, Peter

  193. therefore was kept in prison, but prayer was made without

  194. ceasing of the church unto God for him.

  195. The purpose of the prevailing.

  196. Prayer was because their precious Peter was in prison. Again,

  197. the purpose of their prevailing prayer was because their precious

  198. Peter was in prison. But because of the other believers gathering.

  199. And how many of you know it is the will

  200. of God that we forsake, not the assembling of ourselves together.

  201. The manner of some is as it was back then,

  202. to not gather.

  203. But they gathered together in something called a prayer meeting. Well,

  204. in every service that I come to at the Methal

  205. Holiness Church, we have a prayer meeting of sorts, and

  206. we have a praise and worship service. And so here

  207. at this gathering, there was a prayer meeting, and their

  208. prayers prompted the Lord to release an angelic being on

  209. the place of Peter's imprisonment. And in spite of the fetters,

  210. the shackles and the chains and the security detail, Peter

  211. was liberated.

  212. In an impossible situation.

  213. These people received a miracle because they were praying.

  214. People.

  215. Notice again that prayer was made without ceasing. We know

  216. that the Apostle Paul and Jesus Christ himself encouraged us

  217. to pray continually. We know that they expected us to

  218. pray without ceasing, meaning that our minds should be meditating

  219. upon the Lord, and that our spirits should be musing

  220. upon the Lord, and that words should be spoken out

  221. of our mouth addressing our heavenly Father. When I look

  222. at this word the purpose, I see the meaning of

  223. the fundamental reason why something is done. Do you have

  224. a purpose for that prayer this morning? It's their purpose

  225. behind your prayer. I remember years ago telling this group

  226. and body of believers that we must be specific when

  227. we pray. This generation has forgot the purpose of being

  228. specific when they pray. The blind man he spoke to

  229. the Lord and said, Lord, I'm being specific here. I

  230. need to receive my sight. Lord, I'm being specific here.

  231. I need to receive my sight. And there's some people

  232. in this building this morning who need to be very

  233. specific with the Lord.

  234. God.

  235. I am a scallywag and a scoundrel, and I need

  236. you to save my soul. While there's others who need

  237. need to say God, I'm not a sanctified vessel.

  238. Holy in your side.

  239. I am not a vessel meet or sufficient for your use.

  240. And I prayed that you.

  241. Would sanctify this vessel that is supposed to be the

  242. temple of the Holy Ghost. And then there needs to

  243. be some that would be specific and pray with purpose

  244. and say, God, I need to be filled with the

  245. baptism of the Holy Ghost. I need the end dwelling

  246. of the Holy Ghost inside of me. I remember when

  247. sister Howel and I received the awful news that our

  248. baby boy Philip had cancer. We prayed specifically for his

  249. healing of cancer. There was not a day that went

  250. by that we did not praise specifically that our baby boy,

  251. our youngest son, would be healed of cancer. Amen, So

  252. do you have a purpose for that prayer? What is

  253. the fundamental reason for why you are doing what you're doing?

  254. Hey man?

  255. So Jesus had a prayer life, and so should every

  256. person in this building. A couple of knights ago, brother

  257. Nathaniel pushed us into our prayer cause and let us

  258. know that if our spiritual tree is going to grow,

  259. if it's going to be watered properly and end up

  260. bearing fruit, then we must be a praying people. But

  261. there's some people in this building this morning, like so

  262. many others who lived in the Bible times, who live

  263. even in our day and hour, they think that prayer

  264. is just a brief or long period of meditation. We

  265. see this practiced in churches. A lot of times. People

  266. move towards the front of the church, which is the

  267. altar area. And when they get their sister woot and

  268. they enter seemingly a period of meditation, they look above

  269. and they can tell you how many ceiling.

  270. Towels there are on the ceiling.

  271. They look below near their feet, and they can tell

  272. you the pattern on the carpet here at the church,

  273. and they have entered a brief period of meditation. Cannot

  274. tell you that prayer is not only a brief period

  275. of meditation. And prayer is not only a time of reflecting.

  276. It is a time of speaking directly to God. It

  277. is a time of addressing your heavenly Father. The disciples

  278. were amazed at the desire that Jesus had to communicate

  279. with the heavenly Father. Again, I want to say, Jesus

  280. had a prayer life, and Jesus had a purpose for

  281. prevailing prayer. And the disciples said Lord teach us how

  282. to pray, and Jesus didn't tell them go off over

  283. yall and figure it out for yourself.

  284. Jesus gave them a pattern for prayer.

  285. He said, communicate and talk to your God and address

  286. him as such, our father, our heavenly father. And there's

  287. people in this building today who are failing to address

  288. him as heaven live father. Because the Bible said if

  289. a son would petition or address and ask a father

  290. for some bread, the father would not give him a stone.

  291. If the son would ask the father for a fish,

  292. the father would not give that son a serpent. And

  293. so I want you to know here this morning that

  294. God has heard your prayer, and God is speaking to

  295. you this morning telling you how to get your petitions

  296. answered and how to get your prayer through. You must

  297. have a place of prayer, you must have a position

  298. of prayer, and you must have a purpose a prayer

  299. and a pattern of prayer. The purpose of prevailing prayer

  300. is so that you can get something done that needs

  301. to be done, or receive an answer that you need

  302. to receive from the Lord. I see a lot of

  303. people today that are contenting to go through life having

  304. not heard from the Lord. Years ago, it was a

  305. common thing for people to hear in church somebody would

  306. stand up and they would say, you've got to pray

  307. until you pray it too. That would be directed at

  308. a mother that did not understand why her child.

  309. Was terminally ill.

  310. That would be directed at a pastor that did not

  311. understand why the church was not experiencing growth. That might

  312. have been directed at somebody that did not understand why

  313. they were not receiving the whole ghost. And I want

  314. to tell you here today the same thing that the

  315. elders of yesteryear told us.

  316. You have to have a purpose, a prevailing.

  317. Prayer, and you have to be persistent in that prevailing prayer.

  318. So I propose that you need a prayer life, and

  319. the same way John Markham needed a prayer life. And

  320. I know that there's no doubt John Marka was an

  321. attendance at a lot of them prayer meetings that his

  322. mother was hosting. There's no doubt he was a warm

  323. body in the building. But I wonder was his voice heard.

  324. I wonder if there was any plea in that petition.

  325. I wonder if there was any passion behind that petition.

  326. I wonder if there was any strong desire. That's what

  327. was said by James. The effectual, fervent prayer of the

  328. righteous man of vail as much this means the strong,

  329. or the loud, or the passionate, the fiery prayer abaileth

  330. much everybody that I've ever written used get the Holy

  331. ghost them They got to business with the Lord, and

  332. they meant every word that they were speaking to the Lord.

  333. They were not addressing the pastor, they were not addressing leacate,

  334. they were not addressing the elders of the church.

  335. And you could tell that.

  336. They set their affection on things above and they looked

  337. into the handle of their master to receive the answer.

  338. You see, John.

  339. Marka ebedently had not understood that every great man of

  340. God from Elijah to Daniel, has to have a prayer

  341. to life.

  342. And it's evident.

  343. But the Nathaniel, after hearing your message, that some people

  344. feel that prayer has not imported for them. And that's

  345. why there's no spiritual development.

  346. That's why there's no growth.

  347. That's why they can't even stand up in the church

  348. and say I'm saved. I mean, forget about saying I'm

  349. saft to pided and holy girls field, and they're unable

  350. to stand up in churching with the joy of the

  351. Lord as their strengthen and say I'm saved. And you

  352. know why because they have not even yet made a

  353. sinner's prayer, and unto God, they have not yet honestly

  354. spoke to the Lord and said, God, I see myself

  355. as unholy. I see myself as unrighteous, and I see

  356. myself as unworthy. I don't even see myself as your child.

  357. Then if you would, are you getting to this the

  358. plea of the prodigal. It's the plea of the prodigal.

  359. It's the petition of the prodigal, It's the prayer of

  360. the proticol. It's the purpose of prevailing prayer, that I

  361. must be restored to good standing with my father. And

  362. when you become your father's son or your father's daughter,

  363. you will unashamedly approach and address him as such, and

  364. you will know that you have whatever you desire before

  365. you even ask come. But he requires it, even though

  366. he knows, And even though you know you'll have it

  367. before you ask her, you still have her to approach him.

  368. You still have to address him. If you're gonna find

  369. if you're gonna attain.

  370. If you're gonna let.

  371. Hold up, you have to ask. For those that ask

  372. not to receive not. For those that pray not, they

  373. do not have their answer when they get done pretending

  374. to prayer, they pretending to pray.

  375. Amen.

  376. This may be more of a teaching this morning than

  377. it is a preaching. But until you figure out that

  378. us mortals must pray, you will not have your petitions

  379. granted and your prayers answered.

  380. We must pray.

  381. I've never known anybody to be miraculously cured of cancer

  382. without prayer being involved.

  383. I've never known the dead to.

  384. Be raised without prayer being involved. In fact, when Mary

  385. and Martha were facing an awful situation concerning the demise

  386. of their brother Lazarus, they knew that they had to

  387. get the word to the Master, and that the Master

  388. had to tend to the situation that there was going

  389. to be a reser. You've got to look above this poolpit.

  390. You've got to look above the person in the pulpit.

  391. And your prayer cannot be directed to the person in

  392. the pul pit, and your petition cannot be addressed to

  393. the person.

  394. In the pul pit.

  395. You have to look over the shoulders in the head

  396. of your pastor or the evangelist, or the preacher or

  397. the teacher, and you have to get your eyes home. Jesus,

  398. I'm telling you, you've got to take this subject matter

  399. to the higher power. You've got to take it to

  400. higher authority if you're going to have your prayers answered.

  401. Elijah had been a mortal man, and John Mark was

  402. a mortal man. And because John Mark was not praying

  403. as his mother would do, his mother that would receive miracles,

  404. his mother that would receive a knocker on the door,

  405. and the damnse tending the door. In other words, the

  406. damsel that was not praying, the damsel that was not

  407. in the spirit, the damsel that was looking around, the

  408. mother that that prayer me wouldn't praying, the mother that

  409. was distracted. Come on, now, are you listening to me?

  410. The damsel that heard the door knocking, that heard the

  411. knock on the door, that damsel that heard everything.

  412. But what really mattered, that damsel.

  413. That's all everything happened, But what mattered Her eyes should

  414. have been or Mary, the mother of John Mark. Her

  415. ears should have been tuned in and she should have

  416. been asking the Lord teach me how to pray. Teach

  417. me how to pray like John Mark's mother Mary. I

  418. want you to know it's not gonna get you to heaven.

  419. Now you knowing.

  420. He's praying and who's not, it's not gonna get to

  421. the heaven.

  422. How you looking around.

  423. And knowing who's sincere and who's insincere. What matters is

  424. do you have a prayer life?

  425. Do you have power with God? And man? Amen?

  426. How can you ever get a shout out of a

  427. message on prayer, especially the people of this generation who

  428. simply do not desire it all to have a prayer life.

  429. I'll tell you who is responsible for robbing you of

  430. your prayer life and your prayer time. The developers of

  431. technology has distracted people from their prayer causes, and it

  432. has pulled them out of their places of prayer, and

  433. it has changed their position of prayer. I know there's

  434. disabled people in this building this morning, and I know

  435. people that can't get down on their knees and pray.

  436. But if you'll study the Bible, you will see that

  437. there is a posture for prayer, there is a position

  438. for prayer. There is a place for prayer. And John

  439. Mark knew my mama's got an altar. My mama's gonna

  440. have a prayer meeting, and it is a place a

  441. prevailing prayer and acts chapter number twelve and verse number five. Again,

  442. you see that mama is praying for a man that

  443. has learned how to pray. Jesus had spoke to Peter

  444. early on, and he said, when you're converted, strengthen your brethren.

  445. I have prayed for you, Peter, that your faith fell

  446. not because satans want to sift you, Satans wanting to

  447. have you, Satans wanting to try you. I'm sure echoed

  448. in Peter's soul that to Jesus had gone on to glory.

  449. Peter, I have prayed for you, Peter, I have prayed

  450. for you. Are you getting this?

  451. If our young people are gonna make it, if your

  452. children are gonna make it, if our church is gonna

  453. make it, somebody's gotta pray for us. Somebody's gotta pray

  454. over us, somebody's gotta pray with us.

  455. I know that great.

  456. Man of God seemingly doesn't need any prayer, but if

  457. there's gonna be victory in his life at times, there's

  458. gotta be somebody who's not even related to him, not

  459. even a blood relative, not even a near kinsman, get

  460. stirred up by the spirit and host a prayer meeting

  461. of purpose and say, I be love it Peter, who's

  462. in prison, and we've got to pray.

  463. I know it's an impossible situation.

  464. I know the outlook is breaker or we've got to pray.

  465. You wanna work out they come.

  466. Pray about it. You want a new tribe, pray about it.

  467. You want spirit just to leave. It goes not porter

  468. but my prayer and fasting. You gotta pray if you

  469. escape hell, you gotta pray if you experience me, because

  470. you'll have to pray. Peter therefore was kept in prison,

  471. but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto

  472. God for him, there wasn't only one serious prayer warrior

  473. in this prayer meeting.

  474. There wasn't only two. There wasn't only three.

  475. The place was packed full of praying people of prevailing prayer.

  476. And it was because of their prevailing prayer that Peter

  477. was liberated. Prayer was made without ceasing. It wasn't a

  478. five sentence prayer. This day it can be at times

  479. you could just call on the name of the Lord

  480. and be delivered. Peter could tell you he cried and said,

  481. Lord save me. If I'm not mistaken, that was the

  482. text for a recent message. But if you talk to

  483. Jacob of Old, he will tell you it took an

  484. all night prayer meeting, wrestling with the Angel of the Lord.

  485. And I tell you this, this little moment of reflection,

  486. and this is a little period of time of meditation,

  487. and is staring at the ceiling tiles and a pattern

  488. on the carpet on the floor, and just staring into

  489. the corner of the church. That is not getting it done.

  490. Neither is you getting it done. Whenever you just cry

  491. out because somebody else is getting in and say Lord

  492. save me. I'm telling you, somebody better get a routine,

  493. somebody better develop their prayer life. Somebody better grow in

  494. grace and in this knowledge that we have to pray

  495. when you kneel down. I've seen new converts just the routing,

  496. and I've figured out they do not to even know

  497. how to pray. And my words of counsel have been

  498. like this. You talk to the Lord just like he's

  499. your best friend. You talk to the Lord just like

  500. a he would be your child. You talk to the

  501. Lord just like a it's one of your passor just

  502. talk to him, have a conversation with him, communicate with him,

  503. tell him how you're feeling. But the devil, it's so

  504. interesting to me how the devil will convince people that

  505. they can come to the altar, whether they're kneeling, whatever

  506. their position or posture is, whether they're kneeling or standing,

  507. that they can come down there and just stand there

  508. and open their eyes or close their eyes, look around

  509. or don't look around, and for some reason they feel

  510. like it because they're present, that they're prevailing with power

  511. in prayer. I want you to know your presence, have

  512. the prayer meeting does not indicate that you're prevailing in prayer.

  513. I'm telling you the damnsel act to door. What's not

  514. praying the way? See, you gotta be praying, Oh thank

  515. God here tonight. You don't have to be a messenger

  516. to the saints. You need to be a messenger that

  517. carries a message to God. The damsel. What's happy telling

  518. her shoying march Mother Mary, there's somebody at the door.

  519. She'd have been better off telling Jesus.

  520. Her burdens prayer with the church about Peter's imprisonment.

  521. Amen.

  522. Now I'm a pushing against the grind this morning, because

  523. there's no harder topic to preach on than prayer. And

  524. this church age is not one to practice prayer.

  525. They are the.

  526. Three word prayer warriors. Oh Lord God, that's about it.

  527. And their prayers stops there, our Heavenly Father, and the

  528. mind rifts there, My Lord God, and the mind wanders there.

  529. Oh he yes said that.

  530. Prayer was made without ceasing, meaning if they don't unlock

  531. the church an hour early, I'll be over there in

  532. forest praying an hour and a half before church, meaning.

  533. Church starts at six.

  534. But I've been out there without anybody, no one, praying

  535. from four point thirty to fire fifty seven. How there

  536. in fire forest talking to my master? Hey, where nobody

  537. knows I have a prayer? Calls it a place of privacy,

  538. a place of secrecy, a place where I can prevail

  539. in prayer and where evidence will be manifested publicly. Hey,

  540. come on, now, you can pray in corporate prayer. You

  541. can pray in private, you can pray in public, you

  542. can pray in private. You gotta pray, You gotta pray.

  543. If you look at our Golden text. It says that

  544. and in the morning, rising up a great while before day,

  545. he went. But he went out and departed into a

  546. solitary place, and their prayed since the wood and I

  547. fell it during the night.

  548. Some will go to fire forest so that others.

  549. Will see their vehicle parked outside the gate.

  550. Some will get early to church.

  551. Get to church early and go to the altar and

  552. pray for about fifteen minutes, so that people will feel

  553. like they are participating in that prayer meeting. But if

  554. it is not passionate, you don't have to get loud.

  555. You can be like Hen of old. You can get

  556. into the altar, and you can just mourn in the spirit,

  557. not murmur and not mutter, hey, come on now, but

  558. mourn and pray and take it to Jesus. Take your

  559. burdens there and leave with tear, and warm tears can

  560. flow down your face, not crocodile tears, but prevailing tears.

  561. You can make intercession, You can make supprecation. You can

  562. pray and ask God to intercede. You can pray for others.

  563. You can pray for yourself. You can pray for your church,

  564. you can pray for your nation. You can pray for

  565. them that use you. You can pray for them that

  566. abuse you. And you come to church or you go

  567. to your private places of prayer, and you wonder, what

  568. are you supposed to pray about? When I've just named

  569. about ten things that the Bible tells you you ought

  570. to pray about.

  571. Pray that you in or not into temptation.

  572. Pray without season, Pray in faith believing. If you're dealing

  573. with disbelief for unbelief, you pray. You say, Lord, I

  574. believe to the best of my ability. But if it's

  575. not enough, help thou my unbelief. I believe God, But

  576. if you feel like I'm not measuring up, help thou

  577. my unbelief. But there's people in this meeting that will

  578. go away and say, well, evidently I don't believe. Well,

  579. that's why you're supposed to say, Well, God, teach me

  580. to pray, streath them my faith, Give me a voice

  581. to pray with, give me a desire to pray. Draw me,

  582. I'll draw out of you. Pull me, and I'll pull

  583. myself closer. They look at people they have power with God,

  584. and they wonder how did they get this power with God?

  585. How did they become the person that they have became.

  586. How but nobody wants to thank you about all of

  587. the prayer.

  588. Jesus prayed so many times. Right now, Holy guess, would

  589. you just help me? Jesus prayed in the garden. Jesus

  590. prayed before he was executed. Jesus prayed as he was

  591. being beaten. Jesus prayed as he was being crucified. Jesus

  592. prayed in the garden. Jesus prayed in Gossemone. Jesus prayed

  593. before he selected his disciples. Jesus prayed before he performed miracles.

  594. Jesus prayed before he walked on the water. Jesus prayed.

  595. And you think you don't have to pray, You need salvation.

  596. That's why you gotta do like Peter did. O, Lord

  597. save me, O, Lord save me. I'd be crying out,

  598. Old God, save me in my house. I'd be crying out,

  599. Old God, save me.

  600. In my truck.

  601. I'd be crying out in the altar to church. Hold

  602. God save me. Use your own words. Can't you communicate?

  603. Can't your communicate? Can God give you a mouth? Didn

  604. God give you a tone in that mouth? Don't you

  605. know how to pronounce words hurts you know, phonics hurt you.

  606. No pronunciation. Have you to know how to address your

  607. heaven and Father? You know why you don't address him

  608. because he's not your heavenly father. So then enough, just say.

  609. God, I need a heaven and father.

  610. Would you be my heavenly father? Get personal with the Lord?

  611. Get personal with the Lord. The god Man woke up early,

  612. and he did just lay there and pray.

  613. The god Man woke up early, and to avoid distractions,

  614. he walked out of the room. He walked out of

  615. the tenor wherever he was a great while before day

  616. that he went to pray because he wanted to make

  617. contact with the heavenly Father. It is true that the

  618. son of Joseph, the Comfroner, was one to communicate.

  619. With his earthly father.

  620. But Jesus didn't rise up a great while before day

  621. to call Joseph and tell Joseph about his troubles, his worries,

  622. or his worries. He walked outside, went to prayer, found

  623. a place of prayer, got imposture, got in position, and

  624. he prevailed. I'm telling you the effectual further prayer. Hold

  625. a righteous man. Hey, let's watch. You need salvation, then

  626. your crowd and say.

  627. God save me. I perish.

  628. When I first got saved, the independent put Acostal holdness,

  629. people loved to sing a song and the lyrics went

  630. like this, I'm standing down here by the river.

  631. Lord, won't you come and help me?

  632. Because if you don't come to my rescue, I will

  633. be lost.

  634. Now.

  635. Just a month ago, Sister how and I revisited the

  636. healing of our son, saying, Eamuel Howell. Only a month

  637. ago we revisited that. We were on a family vacation,

  638. and God got to dealing with me and said, you

  639. know you've testified about the miracle. There's even a testimony

  640. on spreaker that Brother Jeremiah uploaded where I gave the

  641. testimony of what God did for Brother Samuel. But God

  642. he let me know there's more into it. And so

  643. me being who I am, I started calculating his body

  644. weight and then I was able to determine how much

  645. blood should be flowing through a child that has that

  646. body weight system, how much should be pumped and circulated

  647. through that system. And I come up to a certain

  648. amount of blood and I double and triple checked it.

  649. And Brother Nathaniel, after I was sure how much blood

  650. should be circulating through a toddler's at that age in

  651. that bodyweight system. I began to consider how many pints

  652. of blood that Samuel Howell had lost. And I begin

  653. to reflect upon this red solo cups, one which was full,

  654. one it was three quarters full, and then other things.

  655. And when I got done running them numbers in the calculations,

  656. I was able to determine that brother Samuel Howell had

  657. lost a half of his life's blood in less than

  658. forty five minutes. And I remember when he came in

  659. that house after that severe abdominal injury. I remember seeing

  660. him turn pale. I remember seeing the lethargy come upon him,

  661. and his mother was busy. He vomited all over the floor,

  662. trying not to be too long in this, And I

  663. remember saying, Charity, Samuel's in trouble, and her trying to

  664. be positive, right, her trying to be positive like some

  665. of you. It's no big deal, really, you know, there's

  666. really nothing to it. She looked at it. She said, well,

  667. it's been a hot day. She wouldn't doubt me, she said,

  668. well it's been a hot day. I just said all

  669. I'd said was charity. Samuel's in trouble. What's been a

  670. hot day, You know how he is. He gets hot,

  671. he gets sick. He likes to drink, and that's just

  672. probably root beer, one of whose root beery he's been

  673. drinking on and her just talking. You know, there's no

  674. way she knew, There's no way she had facts. I'm

  675. the one that watched the spew out of his mouth.

  676. I'm the one that watched it gush and spray all

  677. over the carpet. So I understood in this situation, this

  678. is ignorant speaking. This is somebody that doesn't really know.

  679. And that's what happens in our life when we talk

  680. to the wrong people and consult with the wrong people,

  681. and we counsel with the wrong people, and they tell

  682. us it's really not that urgent, it's really not that bad.

  683. You're really not a terrible person. Hey, you are saved.

  684. You got saved fifteen years ago. You still cuss like

  685. a sailor, But God knows your heart. You still ate

  686. up with this and that, But God knows your heart.

  687. You go and start talking with your spouse and talking

  688. with friends and family members and relative and people like that,

  689. and they get you all twisted and turned around. And

  690. I wasn't one to be easily twisted or turned around,

  691. and I said, no, that is not root beer.

  692. That is blooding.

  693. About that time, he vomited again, and I'm gonna tell

  694. you her counting has changed. And I saw a spirit

  695. of fear come on her for about five seconds, and

  696. I remember her beginning to clean up that mess. I said, honey,

  697. you ain't got no time to clean up that mess,

  698. and if you're going to try to clean him up,

  699. you better get it done. And lessen ten seconds, she

  700. went tearing off into the bedroom and she got him

  701. a change of clothes. I called somebody that lived nearby.

  702. I said, you better get to my house now. When

  703. you're coming to the door, I will be going out.

  704. There will be no conversation, there will be no how

  705. are you doing? Just make yourself at home? The banana

  706. putting us in the fridge, there won't be none of that.

  707. I'm going out the door. I'll probably be in the

  708. car with a car running before you get to my

  709. front door.

  710. Come on now. But after I hung up that phone,

  711. I hit my knees.

  712. I said, I hit my knees A place a prevailing prayer.

  713. I hit a corner in my living room where I

  714. had made an altar as a young husband, as a

  715. young father. I didn't go to the other end of

  716. the couch. I didn't go to the rocking chair. I

  717. didn't go over here to the other recliner. I didn't

  718. go to the kitchen table. I went to that place

  719. where I prayed when sister Howell went to bed.

  720. And she went in that bedroom and.

  721. Made her own prayer place, made her own altar. I

  722. fell my place of prayer and begin to talk to

  723. the Lord. And I want you to know I had

  724. three words, Oh God Help.

  725. Oh God Help.

  726. And I remember feeling the helper come by, and there

  727. was a faith that was built in my heart that

  728. it might be okay. We got about an hour, now

  729. about it, about two minutes down the road, a little

  730. over a mile down the road, and by the Samuel

  731. was about to leave this world as stepp into eternity.

  732. Her sister how You will remember, I didn't ask you

  733. about it. There was no conversation, There was no what

  734. are you thinking? What are you thinking? What are you thinking?

  735. That's what a lot of you would do. I remember

  736. staring at the yellow line staring at the white line

  737. and then staring at Brother Samuel, and then staring at

  738. the lines again and staring at Brother Samuel.

  739. And I realized, my boy is about to meet Jesus.

  740. And I asked, a two year old boy, are you

  741. ready to meet Jesus?

  742. And he looked at me.

  743. Because he had been raised in church, he knew what

  744. that meant. He knew what that meant, and he said,

  745. you there. I said, well, you're about to meet him.

  746. And I looked at Charity for the first time, and

  747. I looked right in her eyes.

  748. Hey, she want my wife?

  749. Then she wasn't my girlfriend there, She wasn't a member

  750. of my church dead. She was my Pharoh partner in prayer,

  751. my prayer partner, my Paroh prayer warrior. And I said, Charity,

  752. if we better got a hold of God, we better

  753. get a hold of him now. And I want you

  754. to know in less than two minutes because we're prayed.

  755. I said, we opened our mouths and we're prayed. While

  756. driving down the road, and the Holy Ghost of Heaven

  757. cable he in not vehic call. Two hours later, he's

  758. still I saw a doctor because of confusion. He should

  759. have been bled out. I said he should have been.

  760. Bled out, but he wasn't because God.

  761. Stopped her the bleeding. You cussing out to EMTs won't

  762. get it done. You cussing out the nine one one

  763. operator won't get it done. You arguing with them, You

  764. telling them what a great person you are, You telling

  765. them what a great kid he is, ain't gonna get

  766. it done.

  767. Hey, man, come on now.

  768. That day's sister, Teresa Wallace died in here and was

  769. gone for about fifteen minutes. You didn't see your pastor

  770. standing at the door wanting the e MT to get

  771. here because I knew at this point it's beyond their

  772. pay grade. I appreciate them. I've taken my grandkids there.

  773. I've told my adult kids to go down to their station.

  774. I've seen what they can do. It's amazing what they

  775. can do. But I have found where power is limited.

  776. I have found they don't always care to hear my petition.

  777. I've found they don't always feel my plea. But there's

  778. never been a time that I have pled to God

  779. or gave him a petition that God has not understood.

  780. I'm telling you.

  781. There'll be a time when your pastor doesn't really realize

  782. just how bad you need a healing.

  783. There'll be a time in your life when the first.

  784. Lady don't really realize how bad you need the Holy Ghost.

  785. You've got to tell Jesus about some of these things.

  786. You've got to start talking to Jesus, for he knows

  787. all about it, and only he can do something about it.

  788. The god Man went to a garden to pray. The

  789. god Man went to Kyosemite to pray. The god Man

  790. hung on the cross and prayed. The god Man prayed,

  791. and rising a great while before day, she went and

  792. departed into a back room and prayed until she was

  793. in due with power from on high that could be

  794. your testimony.

  795. And rising in the morning.

  796. A great while before day, she went into a back

  797. room and prayed that God would deliver her son of devils.

  798. And he was delivered of demons. First number thirty six

  799. said in Simon. And they that were with him followed

  800. after him. They went out there, but you don't see where.

  801. They just went out there and prayed with him. The

  802. god Man needed to pray, But brother Sterity wasn't gonna

  803. be enough to call Joseph. It wasn't gonna be enough

  804. to call Daddy. He wasn't gonna be enough. And I'm

  805. gonna tell you something. The preaching around here has it

  806. been lacking the preacher. The preacher has not missed it.

  807. The preaching of these preachers has been wonderful. I'm telling

  808. you every message has been heaven sent. It's just been

  809. God sent, God ordained the powate. God has been present.

  810. But it's not getting a job done. And last night

  811. I pled and I cried on your behalf and I said, God,

  812. why are they not getting saved. I'm just talking about

  813. two to four of you. I said, why are they

  814. not getting delivered? Why are they not getting changed? Bethel's

  815. a revival church. I'm telling you the power of God's

  816. in his place. About seventy five of you shouted this morning,

  817. but for two to four of you, You're not gonna

  818. receive anything from your heavenly Father, no matter how bad

  819. we want you to have it, until you address him properly.

  820. Sir and ma'am.

  821. Making contact with the Father multiple times a day was

  822. a practice of Jesus' but also of Daniel, whom God

  823. promoted in Babylon. He knew how to thrive in Babylon.

  824. You know how Daniel thrived in Babylon by praying one

  825. time of day wasn't enough. Evidently twice a day wasn't enough.

  826. Evidently he made contact with a father multiple times a day.

  827. In fact, Daniel six and ten we read now, when

  828. Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into

  829. his house, and his windows being open in his chamber

  830. toward Jerusalem, he knelt upon his knees three times a

  831. day and prayed and give thanks before his God, as

  832. he did afore time. Do you know the Pagans They

  833. have a better position, place, and posture for prayer than

  834. we do as Christians, And that's pitiful. They kneel before

  835. giant buddhas and weird looking idols, morphed creatures half gazelle,

  836. half elephant, half rat, braisen bronze, golden, silver plated gods

  837. that can't hear, gods that can't speak. But they'll get

  838. in their proper places. I just did some what he

  839. calls jewelry. I just did some fancy ornamental handrail for

  840. a being there.

  841. I guess he is. He owns a hunter companies.

  842. Huh. He has a prayer room in that big mansion.

  843. I've been in there. I've seen the sacrificial plates, I've

  844. seen the offering tables, I've seen the altar, I've seen

  845. the incense table, I've seen the laver, I've seen the

  846. wash basin. I walked in there and I felt the

  847. skin on my body move, and I said, there's demonic

  848. powers in this place. I've been on the back porch.

  849. It overlooks one of the bays, one of the best

  850. pieces of property available in that area. He owns it.

  851. A pagan if you would, I mean, he's an idolatry,

  852. big statue of Buddha, protecting his assets, protecting his businesses,

  853. making him wealthy, making him prosper. And him and his

  854. wife said, the most important thing in this house is

  855. that we have a prayer room. And sister how that's

  856. my emphasis. It was important to some that we pray

  857. for Peter. Now, if your pastor ends up tonight in

  858. the er and then ends up in intensive care and

  859. the doctor says he ain't gonna make it more than

  860. likely because of that professional opinion, he ain't gonna make it,

  861. it's acrick, and it'll be important that somebody says, you

  862. know what I'm calling in the work in the morning,

  863. and if this group of believers come in here, nobody's

  864. got to worry about anybody looking over the shoulder at

  865. somebody and not paying attention and play. We're gonna pray

  866. until our precious person has been delivered, because I'm telling

  867. you a sister, how and I had a guide on

  868. the phone within laws and parents and friends and preachers said,

  869. our boys are dying. Our boys are dying, Our boys

  870. are dying, and fed attention devils and just wanted attention

  871. and wanted a thread going out throughout the holdingness movement,

  872. pray for our son Samuel.

  873. And took time to dictate.

  874. To somebody, send us out, get a prayer chain going,

  875. so we could get ten minutes of fame. Our boy

  876. would be dead. Are y'all listening to me? How important

  877. is a prayer life? Very important? It's necessary. It's a

  878. necessity for the child of God. If we're gonna overcome obstacles,

  879. if we're gonna get over hindrances, if we're gonna get

  880. past troubles and trials, and to be victorious, we have

  881. to have a prayer life, a prayer life.

  882. That's why Jesus said, could you not watch with me?

  883. One hour.

  884. Could you not watch with me one hour? So he said,

  885. the most important room in this house is our prayer room.

  886. And immediately I felt condemned for a lot of professor

  887. holiness and Pentecostal Christians. I thought, I wonder where their

  888. prayer alter is. I wonder whether they're play prairias. I

  889. wonder which room their altars in. I wonder which tree

  890. in the backyard their altars in front of.

  891. I wonder.

  892. It's been said for years, the old Saints of God,

  893. they've only been dead about twenty years. It used to

  894. be a common thing to hear up until the early

  895. two thousands, of old Saints of God that had well

  896. worn pass the barns had well worn paths. Hey, the bedrooms,

  897. you can see the carpet where it was war out,

  898. had well worn paths. Are y'all listening to me? There

  899. were places in the floor, in the carpet and the

  900. barn floor, in the bedroom floor, where them saints of

  901. God had knelt for so long that the threads of

  902. the carpet had wore thin.

  903. Some of you know what I'm talking about.

  904. Some of us are very familiar with being unable to

  905. keep a pair of dress pants. I'm telling you what

  906. you talked to Sister Howe, not boasting her bragging, but

  907. early on in our marriage, the first ten years, she

  908. had to put patches in my dress pants. You could

  909. hold them up in front of a light bulb and

  910. see through them. Because the knees were wore threadbear the

  911. tips of the shoes, brand new shoes were destroyed. Because

  912. when you start praying that effectual, fervent prayer, you're not

  913. worried about floor shim or Johnston Murphy or Tommy Hill.

  914. Figure.

  915. You know what, if you got lucky back then, I

  916. got a thirty five dollars pair of shoes. When you

  917. got done praying, they were worth about five dollars. We're

  918. riding on somebody else's coketail. And that's what I'm telling you.

  919. John Mark was unable to finish the Great Apostle Paul's

  920. first missionary trip because he didn't have a prayer life.

  921. And there's some of you you're now Mama's and you're

  922. ba he gets a fever and you can't honestly say,

  923. I've held that little baby to my shoulder and prayed

  924. to our heavenly Father that that fever leave that is scary.

  925. That is scary again. That man told me the most

  926. important room in this house. It's not my bedroom, it's

  927. not the master's bedroom, it's not this fancy kitchen.

  928. It's right back there. Go look at it.

  929. And I'm going to tell you I've never been the same.

  930. I said, God, they treat they're hn do prayer room.

  931. But then we treat this right here, and this is

  932. an altar of the Almighty God. So we say, Elijah

  933. mocked them gods that were unable to hear that we're

  934. unable to talk. Elijah mocked the gods. But those people

  935. were willing to show up. Those people were passionate. They

  936. were willing to pray.

  937. All day and all night long till they wore themselves out.

  938. Even though the prophet was criticizing, even though the prophet

  939. was skeptical, they tried and they kept praying.

  940. And we're in a move of God.

  941. And after ten or fifteen minutes, in a move of God,

  942. you're done seeking the Holy Ghost. I don't understand that.

  943. I never will understand that. And I tell you this,

  944. I know that, I know that I know that you

  945. don't really want whatever you're asking for when you're done

  946. praying after fifteen minutes, because we can go back thirty

  947. years ago by personal experience and tell you of times

  948. that the entire church walked out and it was just

  949. sister how and I praying for a couple of hours,

  950. asking God to refeel and to visit our family. This

  951. isn't gonna get the shout. It's not going to get

  952. to shout. Daniel had been in.

  953. That place before.

  954. There was a place of prevailing prayer Acts chapter number

  955. eighteen and verse number one. And he Jesus spake a

  956. parable one to them to this end that men always

  957. to pray and not to faint. So, John Mark, why

  958. did you faint in the day of adversity? Because your

  959. strength was small?

  960. Well? How come your strength was small?

  961. Because he did not build up his most holy faith

  962. praying in the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost will

  963. make you strong. And if you're incessantly weak, you're weak

  964. without ceasing. You're not praying without ceasing. If a person

  965. prays the effectual, fervent prayer, they prevail. If a person

  966. chooses to refuse to pray, they fell. They come out

  967. of the revival saying I didn't receive the Holy Ghost.

  968. I didn't receive my healing. I know that there's times

  969. that God allows us, you know, to go through things

  970. and suffer. I live with rheumatory authoritis. I live with scoliosis.

  971. I suffer most nights. Most mornings, I wake up unable

  972. to fill both arms and ascruciating pain. It says though

  973. ice picks are shoved through my biceps. I go to

  974. bed and terrible pain, refusing to take any medication. The

  975. last four nights, I've suffered beyond what you could imagine,

  976. as let somebody had a torch in my stomach right here.

  977. But you know what, Brother Samuel, I haven't given up praying,

  978. and I haven't given up praying.

  979. For healing, for you, for me, for my family.

  980. I'm not condemning anybody I said at the beginning this message.

  981. I am commending the prayer warriors and encouraging you and

  982. telling you thank you, because there is a purpose for

  983. prevailing prayer. But without concentration, you won't make contact. Without concentration,

  984. you won't make contact. These men focused and concentrated on

  985. why they were talking to the Lord. Sister Molly, you're

  986. a new convert. You're new to this. You weren't raised

  987. in the Christian Church per se. Your parents didn't teach

  988. you how to pray. Your parents didn't show you the way, plainly.

  989. There's a lot of people in this building with that

  990. same testimony. But sister Molly, I see you're learning. I

  991. see you're developing. I see already you're learning how to

  992. pray for your daughter. I saw you a Wednesday is

  993. Sunday night ago, holding your daughter's head and praying for her.

  994. I saw you really praying and pleading to God to

  995. help your mother in law, and I realized, the spirit

  996. of God is leading and guiding her. That's what will happen.

  997. He will lead and guide you into all truth. He'll

  998. lead and guide you into those places of prayer. The

  999. spirit of God will call you to them places of prayer.

1000. John Mark's mother, Mary said, Hey, let's come have prayer

1001. meeting Bethel Hole in his church. And our beginning, Sister

1002. Wood will remember this, we had something called a prayer clock.

1003. And there's some of you. You'll push me to do this,

1004. but we can't depend on you like we could the

1005. handful we had when we got started. But we had

1006. something called a prayer clock at least once or twice

1007. a year, and even these kids. I told him, if

1008. we're gonna do this, you're gonna do it. And I said,

1009. we're gonna pray around the clock, and it ain't gonna

1010. be nobody go a minute too soon or a minute

1011. too late. When you commit to that three in the

1012. morning hour at a four am, you gonna be praying

1013. at three am or four am, not going to stay

1014. up on your phone untill twelve thirty and then sleep

1015. through it and say, oh, I forgot in hours an hour.

1016. I said, no, we need prayer without ceasing, and in

1017. our early days and we still do it now. But

1018. the problem is, I don't know really who would really

1019. do it like we did it. And I remember Brother

1020. Wooton saying, Pastor, I'll take the hardest hour. I said,

1021. that's the three am to the four am, and I

1022. believed him. I believe that that man would be praying

1023. from three am to four am. And in our early days,

1024. I think it was Sister how and I and Sister

1025. we had to take two hours because we didn't have

1026. everybody volunteer. In the part where are you John Mark?

1027. If you fell and fainted? To David Versity, John Mark,

1028. Paul and Barnabas is with you, but beyond that, the

1029. Holy Ghost of Heaven is we you. Why are you

1030. deserting and abandon the work in the ministry. Why the desertion,

1031. Why the preaching, why the exhortations, why the admonishments? Because

1032. you're not on bended knee. That's what the Bible said.

1033. And Daniel got all bended knee. And if you study

1034. the prayer life of Elijah and Elisha them men would

1035. get on bended knee and their head would touch the ground. Now,

  1036. I watch Brother Aaron Wood's daddy. I don't know how

1037. old the man is. How old is the man eighty

1038. three years old? To this day? That man can get

1039. down on his knees. I watch him when he visits

1040. this church and put his head down on the ground

1041. just like this. Now, that's indicative of somebody that's not

1042. only praying, Somebody that's the fastest, somebody that has took

1043. care of themselves. Somebody's been very active. For that man

1044. at eighty three. It was just two years ago. I

1045. watched sister Wood and I don't know how she did it,

1046. just flat hand the ground and picked something up. Are

1047. y'all feeling the Holy Ghost, like I'm feeling the Holy Ghost.

1048. And Daniel could have opened the window. A prince of

1049. the palace, he could have petitioned the Emperor. He could

1050. have petitioned the dictator and say, hey, hey, I'm somebody

  1051. in your court.

  1052. Let's reconsider this. Hey.

1053. But when he saw it, Hey, this has got to

1054. go to a higher power. This has got to go

1055. to a higher power. Sister Molly, I know that night

1056. that the spirit of God puts you in the floor.

1057. You had been saved long.

1058. And I'm telling your brother Jesse this at least once

1059. a week, she tells her husband, and I I remember

1060. that night the Holy Ghost put me in the floor.

  1061. She said.

1062. I don't know how long I was there, she said,

1063. but I was lost in what Dylan explains as the spirit.

  1064. I don't know how long I was there. Well, I'll

1065. tell you, sister Molly, it was a pretty good while.

1066. It might have been fifteen or twenty minutes. But she said,

  1067. I love what I felt.

  1068. I loved what.

1069. I felt, and I still love it, and I want

  1070. to feel it again.

  1071. And you know what.

1072. At nine one one this morning, nine eleven am this morning,

1073. she text her husband and I brother Dylan Wallace, you'll

1074. remember this. And she said, Pastor, I had a dream

1075. last night and I heard these words. We better get

1076. the Holy Ghost while we can. That's a young woman

1077. that wasn't raised in church. That's a young woman who

1078. likes Sister Howell, wasn't exactly raised in a healthy situation.

1079. Are y'all listening to me? Oh God?

1080. And she said, Pastor, it's been echoing in my mind

  1081. since I woke up.

1082. We better get the Holy Ghost while we can.

1083. I felt this dream was very important for me and others,

1084. and she didn't know what I was gonna preach on.

1085. It is important, Sister Molly, to keep taking on it,

1086. keep praying about those words until that prayer in need,

1087. he's as imported as Peter's prayer in need worse when

1088. he began to seek to.

  1089. A watery grave.

1090. Oh Lord save me, he called upon the Lord, and

1091. immediately the Lord stress forth, his hand has saved him.

1092. I believe sister Molly's need is getting that's imported to

1093. us Jacob's words when he wrests over the Angel of.

1094. The Lord all night long. I tell you what I feel.

1095. God has already pulling himself, pulling her unto himself, expecting her.

1096. To receive of his hand. I feel like.

1097. Her, if she will draw out of God as he

1098. draws out of her, it will not be very low

1099. until she received leve the holy gost. That she's so

1100. desperate that needs. She said, I felt like this dream

1101. was very important for me and others.

1102. Do you feel like that dream is important for you?

1103. I do. Do you feel like salvation is very important

  1104. for you?

1105. I tell you about five seconds in hell with them,

1106. same them, same them, same unhealthy and unholy desires. You know,

1107. that's one of the horrible things about hell. There is

1108. no deliverance. There is no liberty, there is no peace,

1109. there is no joy, there is no help, there is

1110. no hope. The attict still has his craven. He can't

1111. get whatever it was he used to get to satisfy

1112. his craving temporarily. There is no satisfaction. There is no

1113. guarantee of satisfaction. There's nothing he can buy, there's nothing

1114. he can partake of. There's nothing he can consume. There's

1115. nothing he can end us. There's nothing he can view.

1116. There's nothing she can view, there's nothing she could consume

1117. her in just come on now, that would satisfy that

1118. appetite of that craven where the worm dieth, not with

1119. us weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Peter woud

1120. crying out, Lord saved me from hell. Lord, you told

1121. me Satan desired to have me. You being removed from

1122. your family would be all the devil needs to do

1123. to destroy Megan and them girls. Lord save me, because

1124. I'm supposed to be. He didn't know this, but he

1125. knew he had a will to live.

1126. Son. Just look at Ada and it'll drive you to

  1127. your prayer. Causet.

1128. I didn't try to put no spirit of fear and

1129. you last night. I hope I did. But I remember

1130. telling Sister Elizabeth, you look at that newly wet husband,

1131. and you better get in this battle, because this one's

1132. yours the fight. And when you're sitting down there by

1133. the river and you look at that black headed girl

1134. that looks just like you and acts just like you,

1135. and just as smart as you are, there better be

1136. a warrior inside, brother Sterey that says, you know what,

1137. sayting you ain't gonna kill me because you ain't gonna

1138. kill her. Y'all don't know the scripture for that the

1139. scriptural basis for that is Apostle Paul said, you know what,

1140. for me, it's better that I depart, But for you,

1141. it's more needful that I stay here. The winds are tempestuous,

1142. and they're stirring up the sea.

1143. Peter's got all the faith in the world.

1144. He's willing to get out of the boat. He's willing

1145. to make contact with Jesus. He's willing to have continuity

1146. with Jesus, connection with Jesus.

1147. He's willing to capture Jesus. He's getting out of the boat.

1148. But when he sees the winds, when he sees the

1149. when he loses focus, when he loses concentration. Have y'all

1150. got the when you're into prayer, calls it and you

1151. get distracted. When you're into prayer, calls it and you

1152. forget about why you're there, and you take mama's text

1153. and you take Daddy's text, and you start communicating, and

1154. like Brother Nathaniel said, your secret place becomes a place

1155. of secrets, and you're doing things in there, and everybody

1156. else thinks you're praying, and you're doing things you ought

  1157. not to be doing.

  1158. You're dangerously distracted.

1159. Let's all remember how it feels on Sunday afternoon to

1160. know church starts in two or three hours. I don't

1161. have to pray around that altar right now, but I

1162. do need to go in there to the back room

1163. and pray that the spirit.

  1164. Of God we.

1165. Save a prodigal son. Pray that the spirit of God

1166. we save a prodiica daughter. Pray that the spirit of

1167. God would come inside or somebody in that building not.

1168. Don't you all remember being obedient to the heaven of

1169. calling and being drawn the prayer. Don't you remember dropping

1170. the fork and say, rather than taking another bye, I'm

1171. gonna go in there in my prayer calls, I'm gonna pray.

1172. I'm gonna pray. What's a purpose for your prevailing prayer?

1173. I know Christians still pray, and I know I'm preaching

1174. to the choir. I know probably ninety percent of the

1175. people in this church of practicing prayer warriors and pray

1176. hours on end each day. I have no doubt about that.

1177. And I'm thankful, Brother Nathaniel. I'm so thankful for the

1178. ones that we do have that even right now on

1179. a Sunday morning grind that is praying God This is

1180. the key right here. This is the key to somebody's victory.

1181. How they just pray address God appropriately, calling the God Lord,

1182. that I be filled with thy power. Lord, did I

1183. be saved? Lord, that my life be spared. It's important.

1184. We need your pastor. Here's what John Mark's mother and

1185. Mary would have been saying. We need Peter right now.

1186. You're just being lucky. You're taking for granted that your

  1187. pastor be here Wednesday.

  1188. You know you are.

1189. Go ahead and hang your head in shame. Knew you

1190. taking it for granted. As your pastor be here, He said,

1191. Smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. That's

1192. why sister how gets up and prays, God keep Daddy,

1193. God keep my husband. God keep the father of my children.

1194. God help him anoint him. Brother Jesse, I've always felt

1195. like your mama's back to back in prayer with me.

1196. I've never felt like I was at it alone. But

1197. there was a time in my life when I was

1198. alone in this, and I'll tell you this, I still

1199. went to my heavenly Father. I don't use my phone

1200. in church except to check on church members that are

1201. having problems. But I want to do something is there

1202. anybody else in this building with a cell phone. I

1203. know a bunch of you guys are on call, so

1204. you would have one in any of you, Brother Jesse

1205. and Brother Philip. You guys are on call a lot

1206. of times. Take your phone, Brother Jesse, would you stand

1207. right over here, please. My brother Peter cried out a

1208. few words. Lord saved me, and the Lord saved him.

1209. Jacob cried out all night long. God helped me in

1210. delivering me from the bad attitude and the plans of

1211. my brother Esau. And God changed Jacob's name and blessed him.

1212. And Jacob walked away with the blessing. But Jacob was saying,

1213. I'm not gonna let go to you bless me. These

1214. two men of God right here before you, right now,

1215. are on call a lot of services. So is brother Gabriel.

1216. I want to tell you that Daniel, Elijah, Jesus, Peter, John,

1217. Mark's mother Mary, none of them called on the Lord

1218. with an intention of hanging up on him. I want

1219. you guys to turn your speaker volumes up. I want

1220. brother Philip to call Brother Jesse, and I tell you

1221. the inspiration for this morning's service sermon is this in

1222. the middle of the night, I heard a phone ringing.

1223. In the middle of the night, I heard a phone ringing,

1224. and somebody would answer it and they'd say Hello God.

1225. And then it would be like a one sided conversation

1226. at to that point, and Sister Wooting, they would hang up,

1227. and then God will call again. And I heard the

1228. phone ring again and they would answer it. Cause this revival,

1229. because this aut to service, because brother Nathaniel preach great,

1230. because Brother Samuel preach great, because Brother Caleb preached great.

1231. And at the Hello God, they'd hang up. That went

1232. on about five times, and I realize they don't know

1233. whose name they're calling on. They don't realize who they're

1234. breaking the light of communication with. Because Jesus said, whatsoever

1235. ye shall ask him my name?

  1236. That will I do.

1237. And a child of God can get through to the

1238. Father by Jesus, the effectual, fervent prayer, the righteous man

1239. of aileth much taught of God. Pray with a heart

1240. full of gratitude, praying faith, believing, pray that he will

1241. pray according to his will, praying his name. Pray, Sister Molly,

1242. maybe this morning, maybe tonight, maybe soon, you'll pray, and

1243. you ask Heavenly Father, fill me with your sweet holy Ghost,

1244. and he's going to do exactly that, because I feel

1245. like when he calls us to Molly, she's not going

1246. to just answer and say hello God, and then get

1247. distracted and let things of this life be on her

1248. mind and cause a disconnection between God.

1249. Are y'all with me? You understand what I'm saying.

1250. I've heard of old timers saying, I left the newspaper

1251. in the other room. They didn't even want to deal

1252. with a newspaper distracting them. That was before everybody had

1253. cell phones. I left the c B radio in the

1254. other room. I left the walkie talkie in the other room.

1255. Jude says, But you beloved building up your holy faith

1256. praying in the Holy Ghost right now, Sister how I've

1257. seen Sister woot and pray this entire service, probably about

1258. an hour and five minutes. And I've seen the ones

1259. I'm preaching to just meditate on whatever just over my shoulder.

1260. I've seen mamas be distracted. But you've heard it said

1261. by elders of this church and the pastor of this church,

1262. and the preachers of this church that said, when you

1263. get determined that your answer is him. There's no one

1264. or anything else that will satisfy you. I've heard preachers

1265. and lay it in this church say I made up

1266. my mind this was going to be my year. And

1267. they said when they made up their mind, it was

1268. going to be their year. Brother Aaron of incessant seeking

1269. and praying un less than a week, they received him

1270. because he knows if you're serious about that phone call,

1271. Because there's nothing worse than for a son to call

1272. a dad and while that dad's talking to that son,

1273. to realize that son's not even paying attention, and that

  1274. son's adjusting a screw and a carburetor. It's like, why

1275. did you call me anyway? What did you need anyway?

1276. Did you really want to talk to me or not?

1277. It's like, right now, you're looking for me to give

1278. you an answer to something else. I just preached an

1279. air in five minutes. Brother Nathaniel just preached an Aaron

1280. ten fifteen minutes. Brother Samuel just preached about an hour

1281. and five minutes. What else can be said? I'm telling

1282. you plainly, you gotta pray. Our little booster band, our

1283. childrens choir just sing a song I had never heard

1284. in my life, and it just come to mind right now, pray, pray, pray.

1285. And I can see right now little Maxon opening his

1286. mouth real big and saying pray, pray, pray. I can

1287. relive that experience right now, see a little Maxon sing

1288. and say pray, pray, pray. And right now you're doing

1289. exactly what I said in this message. And I hate

1290. that people that will listen to this message later has

1291. to hear me scold you. But right now you're meditating

1292. and you're reflecting and just looking over my shoulder and

1293. just staring at whatever is your idol. When you pray,

1294. you've got to go beyond vain repetition. When you pray,

1295. be not as the Pagans and the Heathens. When you pray,

1296. know that you have a father in heaven that sees

1297. and cares and hears and knows, and address him properly

1298. and appropriately. Sister Molly, the Holy Ghost at nine to

1299. eleven this morning gave you clarity. This is your purpose

1300. for prevailing prayer. I need the Holy Ghost. I need

1301. the Holy Ghost, the purpose, the fundamental reason why something

1302. is done. I'm praying because I need salvation. I'm praying

  1303. because I need a healing. I'm praying because I need sanctification.

1304. I'm praying because I need Holy Ghost baptism. Jesus had

1305. to pray, so will we
