Again.
-
We're going to be looking at Mark chapter number one,
-
verse number thirty five as our golden text. Brother Nathaniel,
-
you'll be reading James chapter number five, verses number seventeen
-
and eighteen as our first co text, and Brother Jesse
-
Daniel chapter number six and verse number ten. Brother Nathaniel,
-
would you read that, my brother James, chapter number five,
-
Verses number seventeen and eighteen. Elias was a man subject
-
to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly
-
that it might not rain. And it rained not on
-
the earth by the space of three years and six months.
-
And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and
-
the earth brought forth her fruit. A mortal man prayed,
-
and it ceased to rain. A mortal man prayed, and
-
it began to reign again, because a mortal prayed to
-
an immortal heavenly father, a mortal being communicated with an
-
immortal being, Brother Jesse Daniel, chapter number six, Verse number ten,
-
My brother.
-
Now, when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he
-
went into his house, and his windows being opened in
-
his chamber, toward Jerusalem. He kneeled upon his knees three
-
times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his
-
God as he did afore time.
-
Amen, I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost
-
titled The Purpose of Prevailing Prayer The Purpose of Prevailing Prayer.
-
Years ago, I read a book that Charles Fenny wrote
-
on prevailing prayer. I have not read that book in
-
probably twenty years. I know it's been at least eighteen
-
and a half years since I read that book. I
-
can't tell you anything that was written in that book
-
other than this statement Charles Finny said, prevailing prayer is
-
effectual prayer. That is prayer which attains the blessing that
-
it seeks. It is that prayer which effectually moves God Again.
-
Between eighteen and a half and twenty years ago, I
-
read a book written by Charles Finny on the subject
-
of prevailing prayer, and I believe way back then I
-
gained an understanding of the importance of prevailing prayer. I
-
thought nothing of that book until last night, and I
-
know no other words of that book than what I
-
just read to you now. But I know that the
-
Holy Ghost of Heaven spoke to me to preach to
-
this people the purpose of prevailing prayer and there's no
-
doubt Charles, Grants and Finny understood the purpose of prevailing prayer.
-
May we stand for the reading of our golden texts.
-
Mark chapter number one and verse number thirty five. If
-
you haven't say amen. The Bible says that in the morning,
-
rising up a great while before day, he went out
-
and departed into a solitary place, and their prayed. And
-
in the morning, rising up a great while before day,
-
he went out and departed into a solitary place, and
-
their pray and their prayed. Let's look at the latter
-
three words of that verse. And their prayed, and their prayed,
-
he went into a solitary place, and their prayed. Let's pray.
-
Heavenly Father, we love him, We praise you. We thank
-
you for the opportunity to come into your house this morning.
-
I thank you for this people of light, precious faith God,
-
these people that have a purpose for prevailing prayer. Lord,
-
these people that have a purpose for gathering today, for
-
assembling together in this place that is designated.
-
For prayer and praise. We pray Lord.
-
That you would anoint this people and set a guard
-
at their ears and help them to hear what the
-
spirit of God says or to the church, God, set
-
a guard at my mouth, and help me to say
-
the things you would have me to say. Nothing more
-
or less. We pray God that we would hear and
-
heed the word that is spoken unto us by your spirit.
-
Today we'll give you praise, honor, and glory. And may
-
we depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus' name.
-
In the church said amen again, looking at our golden
-
text Mark chapter number one and verse number thirty five.
-
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day,
-
he went out and departed into a solitary place, and
-
their prayed. Our text is found in a New Testament
-
book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Mark was
-
written by John Mark to summon this building. The man
-
John Mark means nothing, while to others in this building,
-
the very name of John Mark sparks hope in your heart,
-
because the Bible students and the Bible readers in this
-
building today will recognize this man as a child of
-
God who, for a small space of time in his life,
-
was as unstable as water. And the reason for this
-
instability was because this man did not develop a prayer life. Now,
-
the Bible does not altogether state that. But after studying
-
this topic this morning and looking at the scriptures, I
-
was able to determine that this man lacked something in
-
his life at one time. At some time, this man
-
lacked power with Jesus Christ.
-
To withstand the enemy.
-
At some time in this man's life he was unable
-
to endure hardness as a good soldier. Well, we know
-
that prayer warriors are able to endure hardness as good soldiers.
-
So what was it that was wrong in this very
-
special man's life. Again, this man is the author of
-
the Second Gospel, Saint Mark's Gospel. Now I want you
-
to think of the significance of that that this man
-
is used mightily by the Lord later on in his life.
-
What allowed him.
-
To be the candidate to put pen to parchment and
-
to give us this second Gospel? I believe the man
-
learned a lesson that his mother had prayed earnestly that
-
he might learn. And I've heard some preaching over the
-
last couple of nights that let me know that there's
-
people that are listening but are not learning. And I've
-
heard some preaching that has indicated that there are people
-
that are queerly developing, meaning they are not developing properly,
-
they are developing abnormally. We heard tongues in interpretation as
-
it indicated to us that there was more than one
-
or two in that condition or in that state of mind.
-
I'm not surprised when you get between seventy five and
-
eighty people together. There is no doubt in my mind
-
there is a handful of people that are not praying.
-
There's no doubt in my mind that there's a full
-
of people that are not giving it. They're all every
-
day of their life. There's no doubt in my mind
-
that there's not that there's people in the building whom
-
are not interested at all in worshiping and praising the
-
Lord with their brothers and sisters of light precious faith.
-
In that very moment, they're just warm bodies sitting on
-
a pew. So was John Mark at some point in
-
his life. In fact, because of the connection that his
-
praying mother had with the Apostles, john Mark received an
-
invitation to accompany the Great Apostle Paul and Barnabas during
-
their first missionary journey.
-
There's no doubt.
-
The record is clear that this man was able to
-
accompany the Great the upgreat the Great Apostle Paul. Now,
-
I can't imagine how that would be for somebody to
-
attach themselves to the ministry of the Apostle Paul, and
-
for the Book of Acts to let us know that
-
this man was in fact present on this missionary journey.
-
But because this man was not where he needed to be,
-
he was unable to complete the mission trip.
-
And it is save for us to assume the life.
-
Of a missionary or a companion to the Great Apostle
-
Paul wasn't exactly what John Mark expected it to be,
-
and something caused him to go home. Was it the
-
opposition that the missionaries faced? Was it the verbal and
-
physical persecution that caused him to turn tail and run?
-
If so, why was he unable to endure hardness as
-
a good soldier as Paul and Barnabas were doing. There
-
is no doubt in our mind whatsoever that the Holy
-
Ghost enabled and equipped the Apostle Paul and Barnabas to
-
finish that which God had told them to start.
-
And so I propose he a prayer life.
-
Perhaps he muttered a prayer here and there, but did
-
he really communicate with the Lord Jesus the way he
-
needed to. I don't believe this man had an active
-
and a daily prayer life.
-
Paul and Barnabas were mortals.
-
They were men of flesh and blood and bone, just
-
as he was. But there was no doubt in my
-
mind as I looked through the Gospels and looked through
-
the Book of Acts and consider the life of John Mark,
-
that these men were different than him.
-
These men were prayer warriors.
-
And I feel like John Mark was not a prayer warrior,
-
just like several in this building this morning are not
-
prayer warriors. One of the leaders of the Early Church,
-
in his epistle, he penned these words, and they're found
-
in James chapter number five, verses number seventeen and eighteen.
-
It says Elijah was a man subt like passions as
-
we are, and he prayed earnestly that.
-
It might not rain, And it rained not on.
-
The earth by the space of three years and six months.
-
And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain again,
-
and the earth brought forth her fruit. In other words,
-
Elijah had been a mortal man, just as John Mark
-
was at the time of his desertion. But the Bible
-
clearly states that Elias or Elijah was a praying man.
-
It's evident some people in this building today feel that
-
prayer is important, while others feel it not to be
-
very important. But the great Man of God, the Prophet
-
of Fire some call him Elijah, believed the fervent and
-
fiery prayer of the righteous man to be an effectual
-
or prevailing prayer, and he believed it needed to be
-
offered by a righteous person. We know the Bible is
-
accurate and clear stating that God hereth not the prayer
-
of sinners.
-
And so John Mark was not a sinner.
-
But John was not one that was busy about the
-
father's business, as it appeared he was. You see, John
-
Mark would have known the power of prevailing prayer, but
-
he was unwilling to participate in prevailing prayer.
-
There's no doubt about it.
-
In Acts chapter number twelve, we read the record of
-
a prayer meeting which was being held at the home
-
of his mother. Again, a prayer meeting that was being
-
held at the home of John Mark's mother, and verse
-
number five of that chapter tells us the purpose of
-
the prayer meeting, the purpose for the prevailing prayer. Acts
-
chapter number twelve and verse number five. Like this, Peter
-
therefore was kept in prison, but prayer was made without
-
ceasing of the church unto God for him.
-
The purpose of the prevailing.
-
Prayer was because their precious Peter was in prison. Again,
-
the purpose of their prevailing prayer was because their precious
-
Peter was in prison. But because of the other believers gathering.
-
And how many of you know it is the will
-
of God that we forsake, not the assembling of ourselves together.
-
The manner of some is as it was back then,
-
to not gather.
-
But they gathered together in something called a prayer meeting. Well,
-
in every service that I come to at the Methal
-
Holiness Church, we have a prayer meeting of sorts, and
-
we have a praise and worship service. And so here
-
at this gathering, there was a prayer meeting, and their
-
prayers prompted the Lord to release an angelic being on
-
the place of Peter's imprisonment. And in spite of the fetters,
-
the shackles and the chains and the security detail, Peter
-
was liberated.
-
In an impossible situation.
-
These people received a miracle because they were praying.
-
People.
-
Notice again that prayer was made without ceasing. We know
-
that the Apostle Paul and Jesus Christ himself encouraged us
-
to pray continually. We know that they expected us to
-
pray without ceasing, meaning that our minds should be meditating
-
upon the Lord, and that our spirits should be musing
-
upon the Lord, and that words should be spoken out
-
of our mouth addressing our heavenly Father. When I look
-
at this word the purpose, I see the meaning of
-
the fundamental reason why something is done. Do you have
-
a purpose for that prayer this morning? It's their purpose
-
behind your prayer. I remember years ago telling this group
-
and body of believers that we must be specific when
-
we pray. This generation has forgot the purpose of being
-
specific when they pray. The blind man he spoke to
-
the Lord and said, Lord, I'm being specific here. I
-
need to receive my sight. Lord, I'm being specific here.
-
I need to receive my sight. And there's some people
-
in this building this morning who need to be very
-
specific with the Lord.
-
God.
-
I am a scallywag and a scoundrel, and I need
-
you to save my soul. While there's others who need
-
need to say God, I'm not a sanctified vessel.
-
Holy in your side.
-
I am not a vessel meet or sufficient for your use.
-
And I prayed that you.
-
Would sanctify this vessel that is supposed to be the
-
temple of the Holy Ghost. And then there needs to
-
be some that would be specific and pray with purpose
-
and say, God, I need to be filled with the
-
baptism of the Holy Ghost. I need the end dwelling
-
of the Holy Ghost inside of me. I remember when
-
sister Howel and I received the awful news that our
-
baby boy Philip had cancer. We prayed specifically for his
-
healing of cancer. There was not a day that went
-
by that we did not praise specifically that our baby boy,
-
our youngest son, would be healed of cancer. Amen, So
-
do you have a purpose for that prayer? What is
-
the fundamental reason for why you are doing what you're doing?
-
Hey man?
-
So Jesus had a prayer life, and so should every
-
person in this building. A couple of knights ago, brother
-
Nathaniel pushed us into our prayer cause and let us
-
know that if our spiritual tree is going to grow,
-
if it's going to be watered properly and end up
-
bearing fruit, then we must be a praying people. But
-
there's some people in this building this morning, like so
-
many others who lived in the Bible times, who live
-
even in our day and hour, they think that prayer
-
is just a brief or long period of meditation. We
-
see this practiced in churches. A lot of times. People
-
move towards the front of the church, which is the
-
altar area. And when they get their sister woot and
-
they enter seemingly a period of meditation, they look above
-
and they can tell you how many ceiling.
-
Towels there are on the ceiling.
-
They look below near their feet, and they can tell
-
you the pattern on the carpet here at the church,
-
and they have entered a brief period of meditation. Cannot
-
tell you that prayer is not only a brief period
-
of meditation. And prayer is not only a time of reflecting.
-
It is a time of speaking directly to God. It
-
is a time of addressing your heavenly Father. The disciples
-
were amazed at the desire that Jesus had to communicate
-
with the heavenly Father. Again, I want to say, Jesus
-
had a prayer life, and Jesus had a purpose for
-
prevailing prayer. And the disciples said Lord teach us how
-
to pray, and Jesus didn't tell them go off over
-
yall and figure it out for yourself.
-
Jesus gave them a pattern for prayer.
-
He said, communicate and talk to your God and address
-
him as such, our father, our heavenly father. And there's
-
people in this building today who are failing to address
-
him as heaven live father. Because the Bible said if
-
a son would petition or address and ask a father
-
for some bread, the father would not give him a stone.
-
If the son would ask the father for a fish,
-
the father would not give that son a serpent. And
-
so I want you to know here this morning that
-
God has heard your prayer, and God is speaking to
-
you this morning telling you how to get your petitions
-
answered and how to get your prayer through. You must
-
have a place of prayer, you must have a position
-
of prayer, and you must have a purpose a prayer
-
and a pattern of prayer. The purpose of prevailing prayer
-
is so that you can get something done that needs
-
to be done, or receive an answer that you need
-
to receive from the Lord. I see a lot of
-
people today that are contenting to go through life having
-
not heard from the Lord. Years ago, it was a
-
common thing for people to hear in church somebody would
-
stand up and they would say, you've got to pray
-
until you pray it too. That would be directed at
-
a mother that did not understand why her child.
-
Was terminally ill.
-
That would be directed at a pastor that did not
-
understand why the church was not experiencing growth. That might
-
have been directed at somebody that did not understand why
-
they were not receiving the whole ghost. And I want
-
to tell you here today the same thing that the
-
elders of yesteryear told us.
-
You have to have a purpose, a prevailing.
-
Prayer, and you have to be persistent in that prevailing prayer.
-
So I propose that you need a prayer life, and
-
the same way John Markham needed a prayer life. And
-
I know that there's no doubt John Marka was an
-
attendance at a lot of them prayer meetings that his
-
mother was hosting. There's no doubt he was a warm
-
body in the building. But I wonder was his voice heard.
-
I wonder if there was any plea in that petition.
-
I wonder if there was any passion behind that petition.
-
I wonder if there was any strong desire. That's what
-
was said by James. The effectual, fervent prayer of the
-
righteous man of vail as much this means the strong,
-
or the loud, or the passionate, the fiery prayer abaileth
-
much everybody that I've ever written used get the Holy
-
ghost them They got to business with the Lord, and
-
they meant every word that they were speaking to the Lord.
-
They were not addressing the pastor, they were not addressing leacate,
-
they were not addressing the elders of the church.
-
And you could tell that.
-
They set their affection on things above and they looked
-
into the handle of their master to receive the answer.
-
You see, John.
-
Marka ebedently had not understood that every great man of
-
God from Elijah to Daniel, has to have a prayer
-
to life.
-
And it's evident.
-
But the Nathaniel, after hearing your message, that some people
-
feel that prayer has not imported for them. And that's
-
why there's no spiritual development.
-
That's why there's no growth.
-
That's why they can't even stand up in the church
-
and say I'm saved. I mean, forget about saying I'm
-
saft to pided and holy girls field, and they're unable
-
to stand up in churching with the joy of the
-
Lord as their strengthen and say I'm saved. And you
-
know why because they have not even yet made a
-
sinner's prayer, and unto God, they have not yet honestly
-
spoke to the Lord and said, God, I see myself
-
as unholy. I see myself as unrighteous, and I see
-
myself as unworthy. I don't even see myself as your child.
-
Then if you would, are you getting to this the
-
plea of the prodigal. It's the plea of the prodigal.
-
It's the petition of the prodigal, It's the prayer of
-
the proticol. It's the purpose of prevailing prayer, that I
-
must be restored to good standing with my father. And
-
when you become your father's son or your father's daughter,
-
you will unashamedly approach and address him as such, and
-
you will know that you have whatever you desire before
-
you even ask come. But he requires it, even though
-
he knows, And even though you know you'll have it
-
before you ask her, you still have her to approach him.
-
You still have to address him. If you're gonna find
-
if you're gonna attain.
-
If you're gonna let.
-
Hold up, you have to ask. For those that ask
-
not to receive not. For those that pray not, they
-
do not have their answer when they get done pretending
-
to prayer, they pretending to pray.
-
Amen.
-
This may be more of a teaching this morning than
-
it is a preaching. But until you figure out that
-
us mortals must pray, you will not have your petitions
-
granted and your prayers answered.
-
We must pray.
-
I've never known anybody to be miraculously cured of cancer
-
without prayer being involved.
-
I've never known the dead to.
-
Be raised without prayer being involved. In fact, when Mary
-
and Martha were facing an awful situation concerning the demise
-
of their brother Lazarus, they knew that they had to
-
get the word to the Master, and that the Master
-
had to tend to the situation that there was going
-
to be a reser. You've got to look above this poolpit.
-
You've got to look above the person in the pulpit.
-
And your prayer cannot be directed to the person in
-
the pul pit, and your petition cannot be addressed to
-
the person.
-
In the pul pit.
-
You have to look over the shoulders in the head
-
of your pastor or the evangelist, or the preacher or
-
the teacher, and you have to get your eyes home. Jesus,
-
I'm telling you, you've got to take this subject matter
-
to the higher power. You've got to take it to
-
higher authority if you're going to have your prayers answered.
-
Elijah had been a mortal man, and John Mark was
-
a mortal man. And because John Mark was not praying
-
as his mother would do, his mother that would receive miracles,
-
his mother that would receive a knocker on the door,
-
and the damnse tending the door. In other words, the
-
damsel that was not praying, the damsel that was not
-
in the spirit, the damsel that was looking around, the
-
mother that that prayer me wouldn't praying, the mother that
-
was distracted. Come on, now, are you listening to me?
-
The damsel that heard the door knocking, that heard the
-
knock on the door, that damsel that heard everything.
-
But what really mattered, that damsel.
-
That's all everything happened, But what mattered Her eyes should
-
have been or Mary, the mother of John Mark. Her
-
ears should have been tuned in and she should have
-
been asking the Lord teach me how to pray. Teach
-
me how to pray like John Mark's mother Mary. I
-
want you to know it's not gonna get you to heaven.
-
Now you knowing.
-
He's praying and who's not, it's not gonna get to
-
the heaven.
-
How you looking around.
-
And knowing who's sincere and who's insincere. What matters is
-
do you have a prayer life?
-
Do you have power with God? And man? Amen?
-
How can you ever get a shout out of a
-
message on prayer, especially the people of this generation who
-
simply do not desire it all to have a prayer life.
-
I'll tell you who is responsible for robbing you of
-
your prayer life and your prayer time. The developers of
-
technology has distracted people from their prayer causes, and it
-
has pulled them out of their places of prayer, and
-
it has changed their position of prayer. I know there's
-
disabled people in this building this morning, and I know
-
people that can't get down on their knees and pray.
-
But if you'll study the Bible, you will see that
-
there is a posture for prayer, there is a position
-
for prayer. There is a place for prayer. And John
-
Mark knew my mama's got an altar. My mama's gonna
-
have a prayer meeting, and it is a place a
-
prevailing prayer and acts chapter number twelve and verse number five. Again,
-
you see that mama is praying for a man that
-
has learned how to pray. Jesus had spoke to Peter
-
early on, and he said, when you're converted, strengthen your brethren.
-
I have prayed for you, Peter, that your faith fell
-
not because satans want to sift you, Satans wanting to
-
have you, Satans wanting to try you. I'm sure echoed
-
in Peter's soul that to Jesus had gone on to glory.
-
Peter, I have prayed for you, Peter, I have prayed
-
for you. Are you getting this?
-
If our young people are gonna make it, if your
-
children are gonna make it, if our church is gonna
-
make it, somebody's gotta pray for us. Somebody's gotta pray
-
over us, somebody's gotta pray with us.
-
I know that great.
-
Man of God seemingly doesn't need any prayer, but if
-
there's gonna be victory in his life at times, there's
-
gotta be somebody who's not even related to him, not
-
even a blood relative, not even a near kinsman, get
-
stirred up by the spirit and host a prayer meeting
-
of purpose and say, I be love it Peter, who's
-
in prison, and we've got to pray.
-
I know it's an impossible situation.
-
I know the outlook is breaker or we've got to pray.
-
You wanna work out they come.
-
Pray about it. You want a new tribe, pray about it.
-
You want spirit just to leave. It goes not porter
-
but my prayer and fasting. You gotta pray if you
-
escape hell, you gotta pray if you experience me, because
-
you'll have to pray. Peter therefore was kept in prison,
-
but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto
-
God for him, there wasn't only one serious prayer warrior
-
in this prayer meeting.
-
There wasn't only two. There wasn't only three.
-
The place was packed full of praying people of prevailing prayer.
-
And it was because of their prevailing prayer that Peter
-
was liberated. Prayer was made without ceasing. It wasn't a
-
five sentence prayer. This day it can be at times
-
you could just call on the name of the Lord
-
and be delivered. Peter could tell you he cried and said,
-
Lord save me. If I'm not mistaken, that was the
-
text for a recent message. But if you talk to
-
Jacob of Old, he will tell you it took an
-
all night prayer meeting, wrestling with the Angel of the Lord.
-
And I tell you this, this little moment of reflection,
-
and this is a little period of time of meditation,
-
and is staring at the ceiling tiles and a pattern
-
on the carpet on the floor, and just staring into
-
the corner of the church. That is not getting it done.
-
Neither is you getting it done. Whenever you just cry
-
out because somebody else is getting in and say Lord
-
save me. I'm telling you, somebody better get a routine,
-
somebody better develop their prayer life. Somebody better grow in
-
grace and in this knowledge that we have to pray
-
when you kneel down. I've seen new converts just the routing,
-
and I've figured out they do not to even know
-
how to pray. And my words of counsel have been
-
like this. You talk to the Lord just like he's
-
your best friend. You talk to the Lord just like
-
a he would be your child. You talk to the
-
Lord just like a it's one of your passor just
-
talk to him, have a conversation with him, communicate with him,
-
tell him how you're feeling. But the devil, it's so
-
interesting to me how the devil will convince people that
-
they can come to the altar, whether they're kneeling, whatever
-
their position or posture is, whether they're kneeling or standing,
-
that they can come down there and just stand there
-
and open their eyes or close their eyes, look around
-
or don't look around, and for some reason they feel
-
like it because they're present, that they're prevailing with power
-
in prayer. I want you to know your presence, have
-
the prayer meeting does not indicate that you're prevailing in prayer.
-
I'm telling you the damnsel act to door. What's not
-
praying the way? See, you gotta be praying, Oh thank
-
God here tonight. You don't have to be a messenger
-
to the saints. You need to be a messenger that
-
carries a message to God. The damsel. What's happy telling
-
her shoying march Mother Mary, there's somebody at the door.
-
She'd have been better off telling Jesus.
-
Her burdens prayer with the church about Peter's imprisonment.
-
Amen.
-
Now I'm a pushing against the grind this morning, because
-
there's no harder topic to preach on than prayer. And
-
this church age is not one to practice prayer.
-
They are the.
-
Three word prayer warriors. Oh Lord God, that's about it.
-
And their prayers stops there, our Heavenly Father, and the
-
mind rifts there, My Lord God, and the mind wanders there.
-
Oh he yes said that.
-
Prayer was made without ceasing, meaning if they don't unlock
-
the church an hour early, I'll be over there in
-
forest praying an hour and a half before church, meaning.
-
Church starts at six.
-
But I've been out there without anybody, no one, praying
-
from four point thirty to fire fifty seven. How there
-
in fire forest talking to my master? Hey, where nobody
-
knows I have a prayer? Calls it a place of privacy,
-
a place of secrecy, a place where I can prevail
-
in prayer and where evidence will be manifested publicly. Hey,
-
come on, now, you can pray in corporate prayer. You
-
can pray in private, you can pray in public, you
-
can pray in private. You gotta pray, You gotta pray.
-
If you look at our Golden text. It says that
-
and in the morning, rising up a great while before day,
-
he went. But he went out and departed into a
-
solitary place, and their prayed since the wood and I
-
fell it during the night.
-
Some will go to fire forest so that others.
-
Will see their vehicle parked outside the gate.
-
Some will get early to church.
-
Get to church early and go to the altar and
-
pray for about fifteen minutes, so that people will feel
-
like they are participating in that prayer meeting. But if
-
it is not passionate, you don't have to get loud.
-
You can be like Hen of old. You can get
-
into the altar, and you can just mourn in the spirit,
-
not murmur and not mutter, hey, come on now, but
-
mourn and pray and take it to Jesus. Take your
-
burdens there and leave with tear, and warm tears can
-
flow down your face, not crocodile tears, but prevailing tears.
-
You can make intercession, You can make supprecation. You can
-
pray and ask God to intercede. You can pray for others.
-
You can pray for yourself. You can pray for your church,
-
you can pray for your nation. You can pray for
-
them that use you. You can pray for them that
-
abuse you. And you come to church or you go
-
to your private places of prayer, and you wonder, what
-
are you supposed to pray about? When I've just named
-
about ten things that the Bible tells you you ought
-
to pray about.
-
Pray that you in or not into temptation.
-
Pray without season, Pray in faith believing. If you're dealing
-
with disbelief for unbelief, you pray. You say, Lord, I
-
believe to the best of my ability. But if it's
-
not enough, help thou my unbelief. I believe God, But
-
if you feel like I'm not measuring up, help thou
-
my unbelief. But there's people in this meeting that will
-
go away and say, well, evidently I don't believe. Well,
-
that's why you're supposed to say, Well, God, teach me
-
to pray, streath them my faith, Give me a voice
-
to pray with, give me a desire to pray. Draw me,
-
I'll draw out of you. Pull me, and I'll pull
-
myself closer. They look at people they have power with God,
-
and they wonder how did they get this power with God?
-
How did they become the person that they have became.
-
How but nobody wants to thank you about all of
-
the prayer.
-
Jesus prayed so many times. Right now, Holy guess, would
-
you just help me? Jesus prayed in the garden. Jesus
-
prayed before he was executed. Jesus prayed as he was
-
being beaten. Jesus prayed as he was being crucified. Jesus
-
prayed in the garden. Jesus prayed in Gossemone. Jesus prayed
-
before he selected his disciples. Jesus prayed before he performed miracles.
-
Jesus prayed before he walked on the water. Jesus prayed.
-
And you think you don't have to pray, You need salvation.
-
That's why you gotta do like Peter did. O, Lord
-
save me, O, Lord save me. I'd be crying out,
-
Old God, save me in my house. I'd be crying out,
-
Old God, save me.
-
In my truck.
-
I'd be crying out in the altar to church. Hold
-
God save me. Use your own words. Can't you communicate?
-
Can't your communicate? Can God give you a mouth? Didn
-
God give you a tone in that mouth? Don't you
-
know how to pronounce words hurts you know, phonics hurt you.
-
No pronunciation. Have you to know how to address your
-
heaven and Father? You know why you don't address him
-
because he's not your heavenly father. So then enough, just say.
-
God, I need a heaven and father.
-
Would you be my heavenly father? Get personal with the Lord?
-
Get personal with the Lord. The god Man woke up early,
-
and he did just lay there and pray.
-
The god Man woke up early, and to avoid distractions,
-
he walked out of the room. He walked out of
-
the tenor wherever he was a great while before day
-
that he went to pray because he wanted to make
-
contact with the heavenly Father. It is true that the
-
son of Joseph, the Comfroner, was one to communicate.
-
With his earthly father.
-
But Jesus didn't rise up a great while before day
-
to call Joseph and tell Joseph about his troubles, his worries,
-
or his worries. He walked outside, went to prayer, found
-
a place of prayer, got imposture, got in position, and
-
he prevailed. I'm telling you the effectual further prayer. Hold
-
a righteous man. Hey, let's watch. You need salvation, then
-
your crowd and say.
-
God save me. I perish.
-
When I first got saved, the independent put Acostal holdness,
-
people loved to sing a song and the lyrics went
-
like this, I'm standing down here by the river.
-
Lord, won't you come and help me?
-
Because if you don't come to my rescue, I will
-
be lost.
-
Now.
-
Just a month ago, Sister how and I revisited the
-
healing of our son, saying, Eamuel Howell. Only a month
-
ago we revisited that. We were on a family vacation,
-
and God got to dealing with me and said, you
-
know you've testified about the miracle. There's even a testimony
-
on spreaker that Brother Jeremiah uploaded where I gave the
-
testimony of what God did for Brother Samuel. But God
-
he let me know there's more into it. And so
-
me being who I am, I started calculating his body
-
weight and then I was able to determine how much
-
blood should be flowing through a child that has that
-
body weight system, how much should be pumped and circulated
-
through that system. And I come up to a certain
-
amount of blood and I double and triple checked it.
-
And Brother Nathaniel, after I was sure how much blood
-
should be circulating through a toddler's at that age in
-
that bodyweight system. I began to consider how many pints
-
of blood that Samuel Howell had lost. And I begin
-
to reflect upon this red solo cups, one which was full,
-
one it was three quarters full, and then other things.
-
And when I got done running them numbers in the calculations,
-
I was able to determine that brother Samuel Howell had
-
lost a half of his life's blood in less than
-
forty five minutes. And I remember when he came in
-
that house after that severe abdominal injury. I remember seeing
-
him turn pale. I remember seeing the lethargy come upon him,
-
and his mother was busy. He vomited all over the floor,
-
trying not to be too long in this, And I
-
remember saying, Charity, Samuel's in trouble, and her trying to
-
be positive, right, her trying to be positive like some
-
of you. It's no big deal, really, you know, there's
-
really nothing to it. She looked at it. She said, well,
-
it's been a hot day. She wouldn't doubt me, she said,
-
well it's been a hot day. I just said all
-
I'd said was charity. Samuel's in trouble. What's been a
-
hot day, You know how he is. He gets hot,
-
he gets sick. He likes to drink, and that's just
-
probably root beer, one of whose root beery he's been
-
drinking on and her just talking. You know, there's no
-
way she knew, There's no way she had facts. I'm
-
the one that watched the spew out of his mouth.
-
I'm the one that watched it gush and spray all
-
over the carpet. So I understood in this situation, this
-
is ignorant speaking. This is somebody that doesn't really know.
-
And that's what happens in our life when we talk
-
to the wrong people and consult with the wrong people,
-
and we counsel with the wrong people, and they tell
-
us it's really not that urgent, it's really not that bad.
-
You're really not a terrible person. Hey, you are saved.
-
You got saved fifteen years ago. You still cuss like
-
a sailor, But God knows your heart. You still ate
-
up with this and that, But God knows your heart.
-
You go and start talking with your spouse and talking
-
with friends and family members and relative and people like that,
-
and they get you all twisted and turned around. And
-
I wasn't one to be easily twisted or turned around,
-
and I said, no, that is not root beer.
-
That is blooding.
-
About that time, he vomited again, and I'm gonna tell
-
you her counting has changed. And I saw a spirit
-
of fear come on her for about five seconds, and
-
I remember her beginning to clean up that mess. I said, honey,
-
you ain't got no time to clean up that mess,
-
and if you're going to try to clean him up,
-
you better get it done. And lessen ten seconds, she
-
went tearing off into the bedroom and she got him
-
a change of clothes. I called somebody that lived nearby.
-
I said, you better get to my house now. When
-
you're coming to the door, I will be going out.
-
There will be no conversation, there will be no how
-
are you doing? Just make yourself at home? The banana
-
putting us in the fridge, there won't be none of that.
-
I'm going out the door. I'll probably be in the
-
car with a car running before you get to my
-
front door.
-
Come on now. But after I hung up that phone,
-
I hit my knees.
-
I said, I hit my knees A place a prevailing prayer.
-
I hit a corner in my living room where I
-
had made an altar as a young husband, as a
-
young father. I didn't go to the other end of
-
the couch. I didn't go to the rocking chair. I
-
didn't go over here to the other recliner. I didn't
-
go to the kitchen table. I went to that place
-
where I prayed when sister Howell went to bed.
-
And she went in that bedroom and.
-
Made her own prayer place, made her own altar. I
-
fell my place of prayer and begin to talk to
-
the Lord. And I want you to know I had
-
three words, Oh God Help.
-
Oh God Help.
-
And I remember feeling the helper come by, and there
-
was a faith that was built in my heart that
-
it might be okay. We got about an hour, now
-
about it, about two minutes down the road, a little
-
over a mile down the road, and by the Samuel
-
was about to leave this world as stepp into eternity.
-
Her sister how You will remember, I didn't ask you
-
about it. There was no conversation, There was no what
-
are you thinking? What are you thinking? What are you thinking?
-
That's what a lot of you would do. I remember
-
staring at the yellow line staring at the white line
-
and then staring at Brother Samuel, and then staring at
-
the lines again and staring at Brother Samuel.
-
And I realized, my boy is about to meet Jesus.
-
And I asked, a two year old boy, are you
-
ready to meet Jesus?
-
And he looked at me.
-
Because he had been raised in church, he knew what
-
that meant. He knew what that meant, and he said,
-
you there. I said, well, you're about to meet him.
-
And I looked at Charity for the first time, and
-
I looked right in her eyes.
-
Hey, she want my wife?
-
Then she wasn't my girlfriend there, She wasn't a member
-
of my church dead. She was my Pharoh partner in prayer,
-
my prayer partner, my Paroh prayer warrior. And I said, Charity,
-
if we better got a hold of God, we better
-
get a hold of him now. And I want you
-
to know in less than two minutes because we're prayed.
-
I said, we opened our mouths and we're prayed. While
-
driving down the road, and the Holy Ghost of Heaven
-
cable he in not vehic call. Two hours later, he's
-
still I saw a doctor because of confusion. He should
-
have been bled out. I said he should have been.
-
Bled out, but he wasn't because God.
-
Stopped her the bleeding. You cussing out to EMTs won't
-
get it done. You cussing out the nine one one
-
operator won't get it done. You arguing with them, You
-
telling them what a great person you are, You telling
-
them what a great kid he is, ain't gonna get
-
it done.
-
Hey, man, come on now.
-
That day's sister, Teresa Wallace died in here and was
-
gone for about fifteen minutes. You didn't see your pastor
-
standing at the door wanting the e MT to get
-
here because I knew at this point it's beyond their
-
pay grade. I appreciate them. I've taken my grandkids there.
-
I've told my adult kids to go down to their station.
-
I've seen what they can do. It's amazing what they
-
can do. But I have found where power is limited.
-
I have found they don't always care to hear my petition.
-
I've found they don't always feel my plea. But there's
-
never been a time that I have pled to God
-
or gave him a petition that God has not understood.
-
I'm telling you.
-
There'll be a time when your pastor doesn't really realize
-
just how bad you need a healing.
-
There'll be a time in your life when the first.
-
Lady don't really realize how bad you need the Holy Ghost.
-
You've got to tell Jesus about some of these things.
-
You've got to start talking to Jesus, for he knows
-
all about it, and only he can do something about it.
-
The god Man went to a garden to pray. The
-
god Man went to Kyosemite to pray. The god Man
-
hung on the cross and prayed. The god Man prayed,
-
and rising a great while before day, she went and
-
departed into a back room and prayed until she was
-
in due with power from on high that could be
-
your testimony.
-
And rising in the morning.
-
A great while before day, she went into a back
-
room and prayed that God would deliver her son of devils.
-
And he was delivered of demons. First number thirty six
-
said in Simon. And they that were with him followed
-
after him. They went out there, but you don't see where.
-
They just went out there and prayed with him. The
-
god Man needed to pray, But brother Sterity wasn't gonna
-
be enough to call Joseph. It wasn't gonna be enough
-
to call Daddy. He wasn't gonna be enough. And I'm
-
gonna tell you something. The preaching around here has it
-
been lacking the preacher. The preacher has not missed it.
-
The preaching of these preachers has been wonderful. I'm telling
-
you every message has been heaven sent. It's just been
-
God sent, God ordained the powate. God has been present.
-
But it's not getting a job done. And last night
-
I pled and I cried on your behalf and I said, God,
-
why are they not getting saved. I'm just talking about
-
two to four of you. I said, why are they
-
not getting delivered? Why are they not getting changed? Bethel's
-
a revival church. I'm telling you the power of God's
-
in his place. About seventy five of you shouted this morning,
-
but for two to four of you, You're not gonna
-
receive anything from your heavenly Father, no matter how bad
-
we want you to have it, until you address him properly.
-
Sir and ma'am.
-
Making contact with the Father multiple times a day was
-
a practice of Jesus' but also of Daniel, whom God
-
promoted in Babylon. He knew how to thrive in Babylon.
-
You know how Daniel thrived in Babylon by praying one
-
time of day wasn't enough. Evidently twice a day wasn't enough.
-
Evidently he made contact with a father multiple times a day.
-
In fact, Daniel six and ten we read now, when
-
Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into
-
his house, and his windows being open in his chamber
-
toward Jerusalem, he knelt upon his knees three times a
-
day and prayed and give thanks before his God, as
-
he did afore time. Do you know the Pagans They
-
have a better position, place, and posture for prayer than
-
we do as Christians, And that's pitiful. They kneel before
-
giant buddhas and weird looking idols, morphed creatures half gazelle,
-
half elephant, half rat, braisen bronze, golden, silver plated gods
-
that can't hear, gods that can't speak. But they'll get
-
in their proper places. I just did some what he
-
calls jewelry. I just did some fancy ornamental handrail for
-
a being there.
-
I guess he is. He owns a hunter companies.
-
Huh. He has a prayer room in that big mansion.
-
I've been in there. I've seen the sacrificial plates, I've
-
seen the offering tables, I've seen the altar, I've seen
-
the incense table, I've seen the laver, I've seen the
-
wash basin. I walked in there and I felt the
-
skin on my body move, and I said, there's demonic
-
powers in this place. I've been on the back porch.
-
It overlooks one of the bays, one of the best
-
pieces of property available in that area. He owns it.
-
A pagan if you would, I mean, he's an idolatry,
-
big statue of Buddha, protecting his assets, protecting his businesses,
-
making him wealthy, making him prosper. And him and his
-
wife said, the most important thing in this house is
-
that we have a prayer room. And sister how that's
-
my emphasis. It was important to some that we pray
-
for Peter. Now, if your pastor ends up tonight in
-
the er and then ends up in intensive care and
-
the doctor says he ain't gonna make it more than
-
likely because of that professional opinion, he ain't gonna make it,
-
it's acrick, and it'll be important that somebody says, you
-
know what I'm calling in the work in the morning,
-
and if this group of believers come in here, nobody's
-
got to worry about anybody looking over the shoulder at
-
somebody and not paying attention and play. We're gonna pray
-
until our precious person has been delivered, because I'm telling
-
you a sister, how and I had a guide on
-
the phone within laws and parents and friends and preachers said,
-
our boys are dying. Our boys are dying, Our boys
-
are dying, and fed attention devils and just wanted attention
-
and wanted a thread going out throughout the holdingness movement,
-
pray for our son Samuel.
-
And took time to dictate.
-
To somebody, send us out, get a prayer chain going,
-
so we could get ten minutes of fame. Our boy
-
would be dead. Are y'all listening to me? How important
-
is a prayer life? Very important? It's necessary. It's a
-
necessity for the child of God. If we're gonna overcome obstacles,
-
if we're gonna get over hindrances, if we're gonna get
-
past troubles and trials, and to be victorious, we have
-
to have a prayer life, a prayer life.
-
That's why Jesus said, could you not watch with me?
-
One hour.
-
Could you not watch with me one hour? So he said,
-
the most important room in this house is our prayer room.
-
And immediately I felt condemned for a lot of professor
-
holiness and Pentecostal Christians. I thought, I wonder where their
-
prayer alter is. I wonder whether they're play prairias. I
-
wonder which room their altars in. I wonder which tree
-
in the backyard their altars in front of.
-
I wonder.
-
It's been said for years, the old Saints of God,
-
they've only been dead about twenty years. It used to
-
be a common thing to hear up until the early
-
two thousands, of old Saints of God that had well
-
worn pass the barns had well worn paths. Hey, the bedrooms,
-
you can see the carpet where it was war out,
-
had well worn paths. Are y'all listening to me? There
-
were places in the floor, in the carpet and the
-
barn floor, in the bedroom floor, where them saints of
-
God had knelt for so long that the threads of
-
the carpet had wore thin.
-
Some of you know what I'm talking about.
-
Some of us are very familiar with being unable to
-
keep a pair of dress pants. I'm telling you what
-
you talked to Sister Howe, not boasting her bragging, but
-
early on in our marriage, the first ten years, she
-
had to put patches in my dress pants. You could
-
hold them up in front of a light bulb and
-
see through them. Because the knees were wore threadbear the
-
tips of the shoes, brand new shoes were destroyed. Because
-
when you start praying that effectual, fervent prayer, you're not
-
worried about floor shim or Johnston Murphy or Tommy Hill.
-
Figure.
-
You know what, if you got lucky back then, I
-
got a thirty five dollars pair of shoes. When you
-
got done praying, they were worth about five dollars. We're
-
riding on somebody else's coketail. And that's what I'm telling you.
-
John Mark was unable to finish the Great Apostle Paul's
-
first missionary trip because he didn't have a prayer life.
-
And there's some of you you're now Mama's and you're
-
ba he gets a fever and you can't honestly say,
-
I've held that little baby to my shoulder and prayed
-
to our heavenly Father that that fever leave that is scary.
-
That is scary again. That man told me the most
-
important room in this house. It's not my bedroom, it's
-
not the master's bedroom, it's not this fancy kitchen.
-
It's right back there. Go look at it.
-
And I'm going to tell you I've never been the same.
-
I said, God, they treat they're hn do prayer room.
-
But then we treat this right here, and this is
-
an altar of the Almighty God. So we say, Elijah
-
mocked them gods that were unable to hear that we're
-
unable to talk. Elijah mocked the gods. But those people
-
were willing to show up. Those people were passionate. They
-
were willing to pray.
-
All day and all night long till they wore themselves out.
-
Even though the prophet was criticizing, even though the prophet
-
was skeptical, they tried and they kept praying.
-
And we're in a move of God.
-
And after ten or fifteen minutes, in a move of God,
-
you're done seeking the Holy Ghost. I don't understand that.
-
I never will understand that. And I tell you this,
-
I know that, I know that I know that you
-
don't really want whatever you're asking for when you're done
-
praying after fifteen minutes, because we can go back thirty
-
years ago by personal experience and tell you of times
-
that the entire church walked out and it was just
-
sister how and I praying for a couple of hours,
-
asking God to refeel and to visit our family. This
-
isn't gonna get the shout. It's not going to get
-
to shout. Daniel had been in.
-
That place before.
-
There was a place of prevailing prayer Acts chapter number
-
eighteen and verse number one. And he Jesus spake a
-
parable one to them to this end that men always
-
to pray and not to faint. So, John Mark, why
-
did you faint in the day of adversity? Because your
-
strength was small?
-
Well? How come your strength was small?
-
Because he did not build up his most holy faith
-
praying in the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost will
-
make you strong. And if you're incessantly weak, you're weak
-
without ceasing. You're not praying without ceasing. If a person
-
prays the effectual, fervent prayer, they prevail. If a person
-
chooses to refuse to pray, they fell. They come out
-
of the revival saying I didn't receive the Holy Ghost.
-
I didn't receive my healing. I know that there's times
-
that God allows us, you know, to go through things
-
and suffer. I live with rheumatory authoritis. I live with scoliosis.
-
I suffer most nights. Most mornings, I wake up unable
-
to fill both arms and ascruciating pain. It says though
-
ice picks are shoved through my biceps. I go to
-
bed and terrible pain, refusing to take any medication. The
-
last four nights, I've suffered beyond what you could imagine,
-
as let somebody had a torch in my stomach right here.
-
But you know what, Brother Samuel, I haven't given up praying,
-
and I haven't given up praying.
-
For healing, for you, for me, for my family.
-
I'm not condemning anybody I said at the beginning this message.
-
I am commending the prayer warriors and encouraging you and
-
telling you thank you, because there is a purpose for
-
prevailing prayer. But without concentration, you won't make contact. Without concentration,
-
you won't make contact. These men focused and concentrated on
-
why they were talking to the Lord. Sister Molly, you're
-
a new convert. You're new to this. You weren't raised
-
in the Christian Church per se. Your parents didn't teach
-
you how to pray. Your parents didn't show you the way, plainly.
-
There's a lot of people in this building with that
-
same testimony. But sister Molly, I see you're learning. I
-
see you're developing. I see already you're learning how to
-
pray for your daughter. I saw you a Wednesday is
-
Sunday night ago, holding your daughter's head and praying for her.
-
I saw you really praying and pleading to God to
-
help your mother in law, and I realized, the spirit
-
of God is leading and guiding her. That's what will happen.
-
He will lead and guide you into all truth. He'll
-
lead and guide you into those places of prayer. The
-
spirit of God will call you to them places of prayer.
-
John Mark's mother, Mary said, Hey, let's come have prayer
-
meeting Bethel Hole in his church. And our beginning, Sister
-
Wood will remember this, we had something called a prayer clock.
-
And there's some of you. You'll push me to do this,
-
but we can't depend on you like we could the
-
handful we had when we got started. But we had
-
something called a prayer clock at least once or twice
-
a year, and even these kids. I told him, if
-
we're gonna do this, you're gonna do it. And I said,
-
we're gonna pray around the clock, and it ain't gonna
-
be nobody go a minute too soon or a minute
-
too late. When you commit to that three in the
-
morning hour at a four am, you gonna be praying
-
at three am or four am, not going to stay
-
up on your phone untill twelve thirty and then sleep
-
through it and say, oh, I forgot in hours an hour.
-
I said, no, we need prayer without ceasing, and in
-
our early days and we still do it now. But
-
the problem is, I don't know really who would really
-
do it like we did it. And I remember Brother
-
Wooton saying, Pastor, I'll take the hardest hour. I said,
-
that's the three am to the four am, and I
-
believed him. I believe that that man would be praying
-
from three am to four am. And in our early days,
-
I think it was Sister how and I and Sister
-
we had to take two hours because we didn't have
-
everybody volunteer. In the part where are you John Mark?
-
If you fell and fainted? To David Versity, John Mark,
-
Paul and Barnabas is with you, but beyond that, the
-
Holy Ghost of Heaven is we you. Why are you
-
deserting and abandon the work in the ministry. Why the desertion,
-
Why the preaching, why the exhortations, why the admonishments? Because
-
you're not on bended knee. That's what the Bible said.
-
And Daniel got all bended knee. And if you study
-
the prayer life of Elijah and Elisha them men would
-
get on bended knee and their head would touch the ground. Now,
-
I watch Brother Aaron Wood's daddy. I don't know how
-
old the man is. How old is the man eighty
-
three years old? To this day? That man can get
-
down on his knees. I watch him when he visits
-
this church and put his head down on the ground
-
just like this. Now, that's indicative of somebody that's not
-
only praying, Somebody that's the fastest, somebody that has took
-
care of themselves. Somebody's been very active. For that man
-
at eighty three. It was just two years ago. I
-
watched sister Wood and I don't know how she did it,
-
just flat hand the ground and picked something up. Are
-
y'all feeling the Holy Ghost, like I'm feeling the Holy Ghost.
-
And Daniel could have opened the window. A prince of
-
the palace, he could have petitioned the Emperor. He could
-
have petitioned the dictator and say, hey, hey, I'm somebody
-
in your court.
-
Let's reconsider this. Hey.
-
But when he saw it, Hey, this has got to
-
go to a higher power. This has got to go
-
to a higher power. Sister Molly, I know that night
-
that the spirit of God puts you in the floor.
-
You had been saved long.
-
And I'm telling your brother Jesse this at least once
-
a week, she tells her husband, and I I remember
-
that night the Holy Ghost put me in the floor.
-
She said.
-
I don't know how long I was there, she said,
-
but I was lost in what Dylan explains as the spirit.
-
I don't know how long I was there. Well, I'll
-
tell you, sister Molly, it was a pretty good while.
-
It might have been fifteen or twenty minutes. But she said,
-
I love what I felt.
-
I loved what.
-
I felt, and I still love it, and I want
-
to feel it again.
-
And you know what.
-
At nine one one this morning, nine eleven am this morning,
-
she text her husband and I brother Dylan Wallace, you'll
-
remember this. And she said, Pastor, I had a dream
-
last night and I heard these words. We better get
-
the Holy Ghost while we can. That's a young woman
-
that wasn't raised in church. That's a young woman who
-
likes Sister Howell, wasn't exactly raised in a healthy situation.
-
Are y'all listening to me? Oh God?
-
And she said, Pastor, it's been echoing in my mind
-
since I woke up.
-
We better get the Holy Ghost while we can.
-
I felt this dream was very important for me and others,
-
and she didn't know what I was gonna preach on.
-
It is important, Sister Molly, to keep taking on it,
-
keep praying about those words until that prayer in need,
-
he's as imported as Peter's prayer in need worse when
-
he began to seek to.
-
A watery grave.
-
Oh Lord save me, he called upon the Lord, and
-
immediately the Lord stress forth, his hand has saved him.
-
I believe sister Molly's need is getting that's imported to
-
us Jacob's words when he wrests over the Angel of.
-
The Lord all night long. I tell you what I feel.
-
God has already pulling himself, pulling her unto himself, expecting her.
-
To receive of his hand. I feel like.
-
Her, if she will draw out of God as he
-
draws out of her, it will not be very low
-
until she received leve the holy gost. That she's so
-
desperate that needs. She said, I felt like this dream
-
was very important for me and others.
-
Do you feel like that dream is important for you?
-
I do. Do you feel like salvation is very important
-
for you?
-
I tell you about five seconds in hell with them,
-
same them, same them, same unhealthy and unholy desires. You know,
-
that's one of the horrible things about hell. There is
-
no deliverance. There is no liberty, there is no peace,
-
there is no joy, there is no help, there is
-
no hope. The attict still has his craven. He can't
-
get whatever it was he used to get to satisfy
-
his craving temporarily. There is no satisfaction. There is no
-
guarantee of satisfaction. There's nothing he can buy, there's nothing
-
he can partake of. There's nothing he can consume. There's
-
nothing he can end us. There's nothing he can view.
-
There's nothing she can view, there's nothing she could consume
-
her in just come on now, that would satisfy that
-
appetite of that craven where the worm dieth, not with
-
us weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Peter woud
-
crying out, Lord saved me from hell. Lord, you told
-
me Satan desired to have me. You being removed from
-
your family would be all the devil needs to do
-
to destroy Megan and them girls. Lord save me, because
-
I'm supposed to be. He didn't know this, but he
-
knew he had a will to live.
-
Son. Just look at Ada and it'll drive you to
-
your prayer. Causet.
-
I didn't try to put no spirit of fear and
-
you last night. I hope I did. But I remember
-
telling Sister Elizabeth, you look at that newly wet husband,
-
and you better get in this battle, because this one's
-
yours the fight. And when you're sitting down there by
-
the river and you look at that black headed girl
-
that looks just like you and acts just like you,
-
and just as smart as you are, there better be
-
a warrior inside, brother Sterey that says, you know what,
-
sayting you ain't gonna kill me because you ain't gonna
-
kill her. Y'all don't know the scripture for that the
-
scriptural basis for that is Apostle Paul said, you know what,
-
for me, it's better that I depart, But for you,
-
it's more needful that I stay here. The winds are tempestuous,
-
and they're stirring up the sea.
-
Peter's got all the faith in the world.
-
He's willing to get out of the boat. He's willing
-
to make contact with Jesus. He's willing to have continuity
-
with Jesus, connection with Jesus.
-
He's willing to capture Jesus. He's getting out of the boat.
-
But when he sees the winds, when he sees the
-
when he loses focus, when he loses concentration. Have y'all
-
got the when you're into prayer, calls it and you
-
get distracted. When you're into prayer, calls it and you
-
forget about why you're there, and you take mama's text
-
and you take Daddy's text, and you start communicating, and
-
like Brother Nathaniel said, your secret place becomes a place
-
of secrets, and you're doing things in there, and everybody
-
else thinks you're praying, and you're doing things you ought
-
not to be doing.
-
You're dangerously distracted.
-
Let's all remember how it feels on Sunday afternoon to
-
know church starts in two or three hours. I don't
-
have to pray around that altar right now, but I
-
do need to go in there to the back room
-
and pray that the spirit.
-
Of God we.
-
Save a prodigal son. Pray that the spirit of God
-
we save a prodiica daughter. Pray that the spirit of
-
God would come inside or somebody in that building not.
-
Don't you all remember being obedient to the heaven of
-
calling and being drawn the prayer. Don't you remember dropping
-
the fork and say, rather than taking another bye, I'm
-
gonna go in there in my prayer calls, I'm gonna pray.
-
I'm gonna pray. What's a purpose for your prevailing prayer?
-
I know Christians still pray, and I know I'm preaching
-
to the choir. I know probably ninety percent of the
-
people in this church of practicing prayer warriors and pray
-
hours on end each day. I have no doubt about that.
-
And I'm thankful, Brother Nathaniel. I'm so thankful for the
-
ones that we do have that even right now on
-
a Sunday morning grind that is praying God This is
-
the key right here. This is the key to somebody's victory.
-
How they just pray address God appropriately, calling the God Lord,
-
that I be filled with thy power. Lord, did I
-
be saved? Lord, that my life be spared. It's important.
-
We need your pastor. Here's what John Mark's mother and
-
Mary would have been saying. We need Peter right now.
-
You're just being lucky. You're taking for granted that your
-
pastor be here Wednesday.
-
You know you are.
-
Go ahead and hang your head in shame. Knew you
-
taking it for granted. As your pastor be here, He said,
-
Smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. That's
-
why sister how gets up and prays, God keep Daddy,
-
God keep my husband. God keep the father of my children.
-
God help him anoint him. Brother Jesse, I've always felt
-
like your mama's back to back in prayer with me.
-
I've never felt like I was at it alone. But
-
there was a time in my life when I was
-
alone in this, and I'll tell you this, I still
-
went to my heavenly Father. I don't use my phone
-
in church except to check on church members that are
-
having problems. But I want to do something is there
-
anybody else in this building with a cell phone. I
-
know a bunch of you guys are on call, so
-
you would have one in any of you, Brother Jesse
-
and Brother Philip. You guys are on call a lot
-
of times. Take your phone, Brother Jesse, would you stand
-
right over here, please. My brother Peter cried out a
-
few words. Lord saved me, and the Lord saved him.
-
Jacob cried out all night long. God helped me in
-
delivering me from the bad attitude and the plans of
-
my brother Esau. And God changed Jacob's name and blessed him.
-
And Jacob walked away with the blessing. But Jacob was saying,
-
I'm not gonna let go to you bless me. These
-
two men of God right here before you, right now,
-
are on call a lot of services. So is brother Gabriel.
-
I want to tell you that Daniel, Elijah, Jesus, Peter, John,
-
Mark's mother Mary, none of them called on the Lord
-
with an intention of hanging up on him. I want
-
you guys to turn your speaker volumes up. I want
-
brother Philip to call Brother Jesse, and I tell you
-
the inspiration for this morning's service sermon is this in
-
the middle of the night, I heard a phone ringing.
-
In the middle of the night, I heard a phone ringing,
-
and somebody would answer it and they'd say Hello God.
-
And then it would be like a one sided conversation
-
at to that point, and Sister Wooting, they would hang up,
-
and then God will call again. And I heard the
-
phone ring again and they would answer it. Cause this revival,
-
because this aut to service, because brother Nathaniel preach great,
-
because Brother Samuel preach great, because Brother Caleb preached great.
-
And at the Hello God, they'd hang up. That went
-
on about five times, and I realize they don't know
-
whose name they're calling on. They don't realize who they're
-
breaking the light of communication with. Because Jesus said, whatsoever
-
ye shall ask him my name?
-
That will I do.
-
And a child of God can get through to the
-
Father by Jesus, the effectual, fervent prayer, the righteous man
-
of aileth much taught of God. Pray with a heart
-
full of gratitude, praying faith, believing, pray that he will
-
pray according to his will, praying his name. Pray, Sister Molly,
-
maybe this morning, maybe tonight, maybe soon, you'll pray, and
-
you ask Heavenly Father, fill me with your sweet holy Ghost,
-
and he's going to do exactly that, because I feel
-
like when he calls us to Molly, she's not going
-
to just answer and say hello God, and then get
-
distracted and let things of this life be on her
-
mind and cause a disconnection between God.
-
Are y'all with me? You understand what I'm saying.
-
I've heard of old timers saying, I left the newspaper
-
in the other room. They didn't even want to deal
-
with a newspaper distracting them. That was before everybody had
-
cell phones. I left the c B radio in the
-
other room. I left the walkie talkie in the other room.
-
Jude says, But you beloved building up your holy faith
-
praying in the Holy Ghost right now, Sister how I've
-
seen Sister woot and pray this entire service, probably about
-
an hour and five minutes. And I've seen the ones
-
I'm preaching to just meditate on whatever just over my shoulder.
-
I've seen mamas be distracted. But you've heard it said
-
by elders of this church and the pastor of this church,
-
and the preachers of this church that said, when you
-
get determined that your answer is him. There's no one
-
or anything else that will satisfy you. I've heard preachers
-
and lay it in this church say I made up
-
my mind this was going to be my year. And
-
they said when they made up their mind, it was
-
going to be their year. Brother Aaron of incessant seeking
-
and praying un less than a week, they received him
-
because he knows if you're serious about that phone call,
-
Because there's nothing worse than for a son to call
-
a dad and while that dad's talking to that son,
-
to realize that son's not even paying attention, and that
-
son's adjusting a screw and a carburetor. It's like, why
-
did you call me anyway? What did you need anyway?
-
Did you really want to talk to me or not?
-
It's like, right now, you're looking for me to give
-
you an answer to something else. I just preached an
-
air in five minutes. Brother Nathaniel just preached an Aaron
-
ten fifteen minutes. Brother Samuel just preached about an hour
-
and five minutes. What else can be said? I'm telling
-
you plainly, you gotta pray. Our little booster band, our
-
childrens choir just sing a song I had never heard
-
in my life, and it just come to mind right now, pray, pray, pray.
-
And I can see right now little Maxon opening his
-
mouth real big and saying pray, pray, pray. I can
-
relive that experience right now, see a little Maxon sing
-
and say pray, pray, pray. And right now you're doing
-
exactly what I said in this message. And I hate
-
that people that will listen to this message later has
-
to hear me scold you. But right now you're meditating
-
and you're reflecting and just looking over my shoulder and
-
just staring at whatever is your idol. When you pray,
-
you've got to go beyond vain repetition. When you pray,
-
be not as the Pagans and the Heathens. When you pray,
-
know that you have a father in heaven that sees
-
and cares and hears and knows, and address him properly
-
and appropriately. Sister Molly, the Holy Ghost at nine to
-
eleven this morning gave you clarity. This is your purpose
-
for prevailing prayer. I need the Holy Ghost. I need
-
the Holy Ghost, the purpose, the fundamental reason why something
-
is done. I'm praying because I need salvation. I'm praying
-
because I need a healing. I'm praying because I need sanctification.
-
I'm praying because I need Holy Ghost baptism. Jesus had
-
to pray, so will we
