  1. Good morning. Welcome to this prayer service

  2. that we have the privilege of of joining in on.

  3. My name is Pastor Steve, and I'm going to open this up with

  4. prayer from Revelation 48. I've always wanted to be up here

  5. and talk about the Book of Revelation, but I'll keep my

  6. comments to the word of God because we all have our

  7. opinions. But I do want to point out that

  8. this whole platform and stage and all this ambiance was set up

  9. so that we could envision a Star Wars type environment where they

  10. go into the farthest reaches of the Galaxy.

  11. Well, Lieutenant Sora, on the first day of this this vacation,

  12. Bible school, WrestleMania. Thank you, Steve.

  13. She stayed at that console and foolishly took us to the

  14. furthest ends of the universe, put everybody at risk at Mach 10

  15. or warped in, whatever that was, and then they had to fight their

  16. way back. Well, that's an imagination.

  17. This is real. The apostle John was transported

  18. up into the heavens and God opened up the veil to let him

  19. see what we will see in the future.

  20. So let me read this revelation 4/8 through 11.

  21. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings are

  22. are full of eyes all around. And within the day and night

  23. they never cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God

  24. Almighty, who was and is and is to come.

  25. And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor

  26. and thanks to Him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever

  27. and ever, the 24 elders fall down before him who is seated on

  28. the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever.

  29. They cast their crowns before the throne saying worthy are you

  30. our Lord, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and

  31. power for your created all. You created all things and by

  32. your will they existed and were created.

  33. And here's the interesting part. He created us and we are the

  34. only ones he created in his image.

  35. So if you would like, as I go through this prayer, you could

  36. stand, you could worship. The whole goal is to bring you

  37. to the throne where the elders were able to see, where John was

  38. able to witness that we will someday witness.

  39. So as I pray, feel free to call out to him.

  40. Feel free to enjoin me in prayer as I pause.

  41. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who, who was and is and

  42. is to come. And Father, as we stand before

  43. you in this sanctuary, yes, many times we call this an

  44. auditorium. It's a skit place.

  45. But today this is a sanctuary representing the fact that we

  46. are before your throne as your people.

  47. Oh Lord our God, we gather today not merely to ask, but first to

  48. adore. You are the beginning, the

  49. Alpha, Omega, and the beginning and the end.

  50. You existed before time began, and you will reign when time is

  51. no more. You are wholly beyond

  52. comprehension, perfect in purity, unmatched in majesty.

  53. As the living creatures and elders fall before you, before

  54. your throne, so we bow our hearts before you.

  55. We echo the song of heaven. Worthy are you, our Lord and

  56. God, to receive glory and honour and power.

  57. For you created all things, and by Your will they existed and

  58. were created. Oh Holy Father, we just

  59. recognize the fact that You are the Creator and we are the

  60. created. Let Your creation honor you and

  61. worship You, and not only that but enlighten you before others.

  62. Lord, You are not only powerful, you are personal.

  63. You know us, You see us, You search us and understand every

  64. thought from afar. And in Psalms 139 you say, you

  65. hem me in behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

  66. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.

  67. It is high, I cannot attain it. And again we are in awe of you,

  68. Lord, for your Majesty, you are the Sovereign King who set the

  69. stars in place, and yet you draw near to us in love and mercy.

  70. You are great and greatly to be praised.

  71. We exalt you today not for what you give, but for who You are.

  72. Lord, it's hard for us to even imagine who You are and what

  73. You've given us, but that we do exalt You in humble obedience.

  74. We marvel at Your holiness. We stand in awe of Your power.

  75. We are overwhelmed by your goodness.

  76. Lord, let us let worship rise in this place like instance before

  77. your throne. Let every heart here be caught

  78. up in wonder and reverence and we and we.

  79. And as we prepare for the harvest you're bringing today,

  80. remind us you alone are the one who saves, and you are the

  81. author of salvation, and you are the Lamb who was slain and the

  82. lion who reigns. So we cast our crowns, our

  83. pride, our plans, our preferences before you.

  84. You are worthy of it. All.

  85. Glory and honor and praise belong to you forever and ever.

  86. In Jesus holy name we pray, Amen and Amen, Amen.

  87. Isn't the Lord faithful man? I am just in awe of this week in

  88. particular, Man, we we're broken, we're lost.

  89. As a people, especially in this community, you get to see what

  90. the schemes of the devil, what the temptations of the world

  91. looks like in the lives of our community.

  92. And if there is an example of the tangible grace of God, I see

  93. it this week. I see so many kids, so many

  94. parents, so many friends that come in here broken and lost in

  95. the hope of the gospel is preached to their heart when

  96. there's nothing left. Money won't do it.

  97. Status won't do it. Even relationships won't do it.

  98. Jesus enters that space and he says that place in your heart

  99. that has kept you up at night, that thing that is missing is

  100. me. And although we don't seek and

  101. we're the rebel and we want nothing to do with him, He

  102. pursues us. He's got long legs.

  103. He is a faithful God. So we are going to have a prayer

  104. of thankfulness to God's faithfulness today.

  105. So if you would pray with me, Lord, our hearts are humbled

  106. that we were so far off and that we were not seeking, we were not

  107. desiring to find you. Yet you found us.

  108. Heavenly Father, we thank you because you are faithful.

  109. We praise your name for the mission and the work here at

  110. Resurrection Church and that we get to labor with you.

  111. Got our prayer this morning for our community, for our children,

  112. for the children of this community.

  113. And the parents would be that your spirit would be poured out

  114. of fresh and that they would experience you.

  115. We pray that you would be in every ministry, in every

  116. gathering, in every soul who walks through these doors.

  117. God, that Your word would go forth in power and would turn

  118. hearts of stone to hearts of flesh and let lives be

  119. transformed for your glory. God, we thank you for this local

  120. community of Resurrection Church.

  121. God, we pray that you would strengthen our pastors, our

  122. leaders, our volunteers, our laypeople.

  123. That you would give us wisdom, vision, endurance to shepherd

  124. this community well. That you would unite us in one

  125. body, That we would be rooted in love above all else.

  126. That we would see you in everything that you're doing.

  127. And this church would be a reflection of the light of

  128. Christ to our neighborhood. Let this place where your name

  129. is honored give you glory. Let your presence be known, your

  130. purposes fulfilled. God, we trust in you and you

  131. alone. We look forward with expectation

  132. for greater things to come. God, we thank you for planting

  133. this church specifically, sovereignly in this community

  134. that we can love this community well.

  135. God, we thank you that you have sustained this church for years,

  136. and we thank you for every soul that has been brought through

  137. these doors, every life that has been touched by your word, and

  138. every act of love and goodness that has flowed through this

  139. place. God, we praise you for Wrest

  140. Mania, for every child that has walked through these doors.

  141. That encountered hope for the first time in their life.

  142. They've experienced peace and purpose for the first time in

  143. their life. Every seed of truth that you

  144. have planted, God, we thank you for every game, every craft,

  145. every lesson that was taught and that we see you in all of it.

  146. God, we praise you for the volunteers of WrestleMania, the

  147. leaders, the families who gave their time, their energy, their

  148. resources to serve you and your kingdom's purposes.

  149. May you grow them abundantly. And God, we are especially

  150. grateful for your faithfulness shown in the lives that were

  151. changed. Those who have come to know

  152. Jesus and will come to know Jesus here in a few hours.

  153. Those who have felt seen and valued for the first time in

  154. their life. Those who have found joy in your

  155. presence. May those seeds planted continue

  156. to grow and bear fruit for your Kingdom.

  157. Let this just be the beginning of the great work that you are

  158. doing in our community. And God, we lift up the gospel

  159. that will be preached. What a burden it is to share the

  160. gospel. What a heavyweight.

  161. Yet you entrust us with this. And we know, God, that before we

  162. ever speak a word, that you are already at work softening

  163. hearts, opening minds to receive your truth.

  164. And we pray that it would be received.

  165. Lord, we praise you for the quiet ways that you have been

  166. moving in conversations and circumstances, even in the pain

  167. of this community, to draw people closer to yourself.

  168. We praise You. Lord, we thank you for every

  169. heart that is being made ready to receive.

  170. And God, we thank you for the privilege of being a part of

  171. your redemptive work. We acknowledge that salvation

  172. belongs to you and you alone, and yet you graciously invite us

  173. to join in on your mission. Father, lastly, may your Holy

  174. Spirit continue to move powerfully in this church in

  175. this moment, in the 11:00 service, when all of the

  176. families and kids are here, may it move powerfully.

  177. Let every word be spoken, be saturated with grace and truth.

  178. Let hearts be stirred, eyes open, and life change forever,

  179. not because of our efforts, but because of your glory and

  180. goodness. And it's in Jesus name we pray.

  181. Amen. How y'all doing?

  182. We're making it. Yeah.

  183. We're doing good. All right, a little, little

  184. participation before we move on. Everyone look to your right and

  185. tell the person sitting there, man, I'm glad you're here today.

  186. Now turn to your left. Turn to your left and say no,

  187. I'm glad you're here today. I get the opportunity to lead us

  188. in prayer for other churches today for their ministry.

  189. How many of you guys have been a part of at least one church?

  190. 1 local church. Just so you know, you're here.

  191. So everyone's hand should be raised.

  192. Just say more than more than two, More than three.

  193. I've been a part of four. You can put your hands down.

  194. I've been a part of four local churches and each one of those

  195. churches in their unique way, discipled me into the person I

  196. am today. The first church I was basically

  197. born into my I was born and then my parents took me to church the

  198. next day. I think I've been a part of a

  199. local church my whole life, but what that church taught me to

  200. the age of 5 was church is big and God is real.

  201. So the the very first church I was a part of, that's what it

  202. taught me. The second church was it taught

  203. me God's word is truth and God works all things for the good

  204. for those who love the Lord. That's what the second church

  205. taught me. Third church taught me is God's

  206. love is radical. And those fourth church has

  207. taught me God is in control even when the world around us is

  208. falling apart. Without those truths impacting

  209. me, I don't know where I would be today.

  210. And we thank God for all of the local churches and how they're

  211. equipping and shaping God's people.

  212. So join me in prayer as we lift up other churches around us.

  213. And may the Lord make you increase, and it bound in love

  214. for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that He may

  215. establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God and

  216. Father at the coming of the Lord Jesus with all his Saints.

  217. And beloved, I pray that all may go well with you, and that you

  218. may be in good health as it goes well with your soul.

  219. For I rejoice greatly when the brothers came and testified to

  220. your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth.

  221. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are

  222. walking in the truth. Father God, Lord, thank you for

  223. your system. You know I love systems.

  224. I love to understand how things work, God.

  225. And the way that your body works is amazing.

  226. God, all these churches that are not in competition but are in

  227. unity, God, around your word, around your truth, around your,

  228. your son, God, we just thank you for those.

  229. God, we thank you for working together in unity with other

  230. churches. God, we thank you for bodies of

  231. believers coming together to making a bigger impact than we

  232. could ever make by ourselves. God, or today I want to lift up

  233. a church in Yuba City, God Adventure Church.

  234. They recently had their largest kid camp ever with 400 kids that

  235. came with over 100 that received Christ for the first time.

  236. God, God, we thank you for that impact.

  237. We thank you for that church and God.

  238. Now they're on the missions field. 2 weeks ago they had a

  239. kids camp and this week they're in a foreign country.

  240. God, thank you for the impact that that church is making in

  241. Yuba City and throughout the world.

  242. God, God, thank you for Fellowship Baptist Church here

  243. in Bakersfield. God, they recently had their

  244. kids camp and they're reaching people that are so far from you

  245. and they're so different from from who they are.

  246. God, But because of your love and the love of Fellowship

  247. Baptist Church God, people are meeting Christ for the first

  248. time. People from the sick religion

  249. God are meeting you for the first time, God, and we thank

  250. you for that, Father God. Lord, I just ask you for your

  251. blessings on the other churches here in Bakersfield, God for

  252. Niles St. Southern First Southern Baptist

  253. Church, God, I pray for them as they're struggling.

  254. God, I pray for a fresh wind and a fresh fire, God, where they

  255. can pursue you, they can go into their community that's so far

  256. from you, God, and they can make an impact on Lord, I pray for

  257. unity. God is pray for that.

  258. All of our churches, all of your churches, God will preach the

  259. gospel boldly. God in unity will preach the

  260. truth. God in unity that we can be more

  261. about what we're for and less about what we're against.

  262. God, Lord, I pray for families here in Bakersfield, the lost,

  263. the ones that are in the dark places.

  264. God, I pray that a local church will reach out.

  265. We'll love on them God, and we'll be able to show them the

  266. gospel, teach them the gospel, and allow them to receive the

  267. gospel. God, Lord, God, I pray that

  268. because of the local churches here in Bakersfield, Bakersfield

  269. will start to look different, will start to sound different,

  270. will start to feel different. We'll start to love, we'll find

  271. hope again, we'll find joy again because of local churches

  272. preaching the truth, preaching the gospel, and preaching about

  273. a good godfather. God, Lord, we thank you for all

  274. of these things. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

  275. OK guys, this is where I want everybody to stand up.

  276. Anybody that can stand up, stand up, roll, roll your shoulders

  277. back a little bit and shake out your arms like this, like this.

  278. Last week I saw Pastor Daniel doing that.

  279. I go, this guy's a psycho man. He's over here getting ready to

  280. preach and he's doing this, He's getting all ready.

  281. But he's it's like he's going into battle, right?

  282. OK, you guys can have a seat. You can have a seat.

  283. OK? He's going in about there's a

  284. battle for souls, right? It happens all the time.

  285. Satan wants them, God wants them.

  286. But I just want to tell you. God loves you, the pastors and

  287. the elders of Resurrection Church love you.

  288. We're called to oversee, to shepherd, to equip Saints and a

  289. hyper focus in the last couple years for us has been out of

  290. Acts 6/4 is to be devoted to prayer and ministry of the word.

  291. Everything that we do is driven by the great commandment, which

  292. is to love the Lord our God with all our heart and soul mind to

  293. love others and also the Great Commission to go ye there for

  294. making disciples of all nations and baptizing them.

  295. That's our goal. And we have an incredible

  296. opportunity today with people coming into this House of

  297. worship that might not normally come and they're going to hear

  298. the gospel presented. Maybe it's for the first time.

  299. And as Sean was saying, there's that void in their heart.

  300. There's something missing. They don't know what it is and

  301. they they'll hear today we pray that the Holy Spirit works in

  302. their lives and lives are transformed.

  303. And it's times like these. I wish I would have written

  304. something down right, because I've been thinking about this

  305. for a week. But I, I want to pray for broken

  306. homes, for hurting families, want to get to that.

  307. But it's, it's if you think about your sphere of influence,

  308. you think about the people around you.

  309. There's a lot of people that you know that are hurting.

  310. There's a lot of people that you know, they're part of a broken

  311. family. There's a lot of there's a lot

  312. of families without dads. But we have a heavenly Father

  313. who loves us and has a plan for our lives.

  314. And we have the opportunity to to share that good news today.

  315. So I want to pray. We're going to go to the

  316. Scriptures in Psalm. Father of the fatherless and

  317. protector of widows is God. In his holy habitation.

  318. God settles the solitary in a home.

  319. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious

  320. dwell in a parched land. The thief comes to kill, steal

  321. and destroy. Jesus came that we may have life

  322. and have it more abundantly or to the full additional

  323. scriptures we talked about Isaiah comfort for the broken

  324. hearted as well as Psalms 147 talks about broken hearted.

  325. Matthew 11/28/30. This is the verse for all of you

  326. volunteers this week. Come to me all who are weary.

  327. It's been a long week, but there's a payday coming.

  328. It's a great day. I just, I think about the single

  329. parents struggling to provide and guide for their families,

  330. how difficult that is juggling a job, family and everything that

  331. goes on in their lives. Think about children from broken

  332. or unstable homes and just this sanctuary is truly a place of

  333. sanctuary for them this week when they're here, they know

  334. they're loved, they're taken care of.

  335. Talk about families facing financial hardships.

  336. It's, it's happening all around us, right?

  337. 3 generations in the same household.

  338. It's a tough time we're in those dealing with addiction, abuse

  339. and abandonment. So our fervent prayer, let's go

  340. into prayer right now. Our fervent prayer is for you,

  341. God, that you would use this day to bring hope and healing to a

  342. broken and hurting world to families that are just feel like

  343. I I don't know if I can even get through this week through this

  344. day, through this hour. Dear Lord, I pray that you just

  345. bring them peace, comfort, wisdom, everything they need to

  346. have the joy and the peace that comes only from you, that they

  347. know that they know that they know that they have peace, joy

  348. and everlasting and there's no condemnation for them.

  349. We lift this this service up to you later, dear Lord, that you'd

  350. lead, guide and direct that you, the Holy Spirit, works in the

  351. lives of your people for an incredible harvest.

  352. We just love you and praise you and to you goes all the glory

  353. for all that we do. We pray these things in Jesus

  354. name and for his sake. Amen.

  355. Amen. All right, if you are a dad in

  356. the room, stand up. Come on.

  357. Let me tell you what studies say in our culture right now, if the

  358. Father in the home comes to Christ, there is a 91% chance

  359. that those kids will follow Christ.

  360. Amen. If the dad does not, only one in

  361. 50 children will follow Christ. You matter, gentlemen.

  362. The way you pursue Christ matters.

  363. The way you steward your home matters.

  364. Your personal confession and repentance and pursuit of Christ

  365. matters. In fact, there's not a single

  366. factor that is a higher probability that your home will

  367. follow Christ other than how you follow Christ.

  368. It's not the school you put them in.

  369. It's not the church you go to. It's not the youth ministry

  370. they're part of. It's how you pursue Christ

  371. authentically, both in the private places where you think

  372. no one's watching. They are in the home and in the

  373. public space. You matter Father God, will you

  374. chase these men? Will you protect these men?

  375. Will you inspire them? Will you convict them?

  376. And will you encourage them and help them to lead while they

  377. follow you in Jesus name, Amen. You may sit down in Matthew says

  378. this about Jesus. When Jesus saw the crowds, he

  379. had compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless

  380. like sheep without a shepherd. And then he said to his

  381. disciples, the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are

  382. few. Therefore pray earnestly to the

  383. Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.

  384. By one statistic that I read recently, 92% of Kern County is

  385. lost, 8% is saved. I'm not talking about who goes

  386. to church, I'm talking about who knows Jesus.

  387. Because there are people sitting in churches all over this county

  388. that don't know Jesus. They know church, they know

  389. religion, they know how to put on church clothes, but they

  390. don't know Christ personally. 92% you no longer have to go to

  391. Romania or Africa to find lost people.

  392. Walk out your front door. They're all around us.

  393. The harvest is plentiful. This is what Jesus came for.

  394. He said this in Luke 19. He said for the Son of Man came

  395. to seek and save the lost. Jesus came for people like you

  396. and I people who are far from him, people who wanted nothing

  397. to do with him, people that never thought of themselves as

  398. Christian or maybe thought of themselves as good enough and

  399. not needing Christ and he came for us anyways.

  400. In fact the Bible says in second Peter the Lord is not slow to

  401. fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but he is

  402. patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish but that

  403. all should reach repentance. I saw someone say recently why

  404. doesn't God just remove all of the evil from the world and

  405. someone else responded, well it's a good thing he didn't

  406. because then he would remove you and I.

  407. He is slow to anger. In Romans 1013 through 15 the

  408. Bible says this for everyone who calls in the name of the Lord

  409. will be saved. How then will they call on him

  410. in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in

  411. him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without

  412. someone preaching? And how are they to preach

  413. unless they are sent as it is written?

  414. How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news.

  415. That's what we're going to do today.

  416. I'm going to preach the good news.

  417. I want you to pray with me today for the salvation of the people

  418. that are coming in these doors. In a few moments, that God would

  419. soften an open hearts to his message that the presentation of

  420. the gospel be clear and articulate, and the Holy Spirit

  421. would allow that message to sink in and take root.

  422. And that those families would come back and allow themselves

  423. to be discipled as part of the community of Christ.

  424. Pray with me, Father God, we beg earnestly that you would move

  425. mightily in this place today, that people who are far from you

  426. would come, that they would hear the message, that they would

  427. receive it, they would be implanted God, and that they

  428. would return to allow discipleship to occur.

  429. That they would join into a community of faith.

  430. God that is following you, that is worshipping you.

  431. God that is raised from death to life.

  432. We desire men and women and kids to be saved, and we can't do it.

  433. We are powerless. We are unqualified, we haven't

  434. earned it, and we don't deserve it.

  435. But God, being rich in mercy, you have lavished upon us every

  436. heavenly gift, rich riches upon riches.

  437. And Father God, we pray for those coming today that you

  438. would save them. We pray to God that you would

  439. change the trajectory of homes all over this neighborhood, the

  440. dysfunctional home, the single parent home, the home in poverty

  441. or in dysfunction or in disarray.

  442. God that you would enter these homes and give them hope.

  443. By this we know love that He laid down His life for us, and

  444. we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

  445. And if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in

  446. need, he closes his heart against him.

  447. How does God's love abide in him?

  448. Little children, let us not love in Word or talk, but in deed and

  449. in truth. Jesus name, Amen.

  450. All right, will you stand with me?

  451. We're going to do a, we're going to close with a little

  452. responsive reading. You've got a part to play in

  453. this, just like you have a part to play in an hour or so when

  454. people start coming in these doors.

  455. I'm going to read Psalm 118 and your job, it's very easy, is to

  456. say his steadfast love endures forever.

  457. Try it once. Go ahead.

  458. It's almost like you knew. All right.

  459. Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.

  460. Let those who fear the Lord say Out of my distress I called on

  461. the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.

  462. The Lord is on my side and I will not fear.

  463. What can man do to me? The Lord is on my side as my

  464. helper. I shall look in triumph on those

  465. who hate me. It is better to take refuge in

  466. the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in

  467. the Lord than to trust in Princess.

  468. Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter

  469. through them and give thanks to the Lord.

  470. Save us, we pray, O Lord, O Lord, we pray.

  471. Give us success. You are my God and I will give

  472. thanks to you. You are my God.

  473. I will extol you. O give thanks to the Lord, for

  474. he is good. Steadfast love endures forever.

  475. If you're willing, will you extend your hands as we close in

  476. prayer? Father God, I give you praise

  477. and honour and glory that we ask for revival to start with us.

  478. God, in a state known for wildfires, would you start a

  479. different kind of fire? Would you start a revival fire?

  480. When you start that in our hearts and in our lives, in our

  481. private lives, in our prayer life, in the way we cling to our

  482. Bible, in the way we desperately seek you, God, in the way we die

  483. to ourselves daily to pick up our cross and follow you, God,

  484. would you start that in US? God, would you give us a mind

  485. and a heart and eyes for others to consider others more than we

  486. consider ourselves? God, would you help us to have a

  487. heart that serves other people? And God, will you use us and

  488. what meager talents and gifts we have to spread the good news

  489. now. We pray that you move in this

  490. place today and God I pray for this people, your people whom

  491. you have saved, that as they go out to the 11 O clock service

  492. and to the barbecue and on Monday to work and on Tuesday as

  493. they care for their families and their children and their

  494. neighborhoods. God, I pray that you protect

  495. them. God, you have commissioned them,

  496. you have called them, you have gifted them, you have equipped

  497. them, and Father God will you now encourage them, lift them up

  498. and give them endurance. May you shine your face upon

  499. them in Jesus name. And all God's people said Amen.

  500. Amen. All right, we got one hour.

  501. I'll see you at 11 and then I'll see you to eat some hot dogs.

  502. We love you.
