-
message today is I'm so so grateful to God to
-
come into and to share it with you and I just
-
pray that it's as impactful as as as God has
-
just stirred my spirit up to see I'll just pray
-
we experienced the fruit of it in this moment
-
but week week week one we started with let's
-
get loud right and so this week we're gonna talk
-
about can you see what God is doing Can you see
-
what God is doing? And what do you mean by Pastor
-
Brian? We can see what God is doing You can't
-
help but start to praise him but seeing what
-
God is doing and It is not as Automatic as we
-
may want it to be the Bible tells us that behold.
-
I'm doing a new thing Will you not perceive it
-
which lets us know you can miss what God is doing.
-
You can miss God could be moving, changing things,
-
shifting things right in front of you, and you
-
not perceive it. But we know that that is not
-
the design that God has for us, but God wants
-
us to see everything that he's doing. So look
-
at your neighbor and say, hey neighbor, can you
-
see what God is doing? And I pray that by the
-
end of this message that anything that could
-
be withholding your ability to see what God is
-
doing in your life I pray that the Spirit of
-
God removes whatever that is and you leave here
-
with clear sight and say I can see what God is
-
Doing let's just flip that we said can you let's
-
just what no no I Love it y 'all right here with
-
me The question was can you see what God is doing
-
The goal would be by the time we leave this message
-
is you to look at you. Hey neighbor, I Can see
-
what God is doing I Can see him I can see him
-
whoo, I can see him getting excited But we'll
-
start at verse 15 and we will finish chapter
-
1 today in faith You know what, I'm gonna go
-
up to 13. But it says, in him, you also, when
-
you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
-
salvation, and believed in him were sealed with
-
the promise, Holy Spirit, say, hey neighbor,
-
you are sealed. And this is important because
-
when we start to talk about, Seeing what God
-
is doing. You have to see a finished work is
-
that foundation and so what? Paul is giving credence
-
to here, are bringing to our mind or to our hearts
-
more, most importantly, is that when you believe,
-
when you said, I am saved, I believe Jesus died
-
and rose again, through that confession, at that
-
moment, you became sealed with the promised Holy
-
Spirit, right? So saved, sealed. Look at neighbor
-
say, saved, sealed. Saved and sealed I'm God
-
keep going Who is verse 14 so right? That's a
-
thought right who is the guarantee of our inheritance
-
until we acquire Possession of it to the praise
-
of his glory verse 14 Paul then says hey you
-
were saved now you are sealed I'm hearing myself
-
somewhere But um But you were saved then Through
-
that, you were sealed by the Holy Spirit, but
-
not only are you sealed by the Holy Spirit, but
-
that sealing is representation of a guarantee.
-
What is that guarantee? That you have eternal
-
life. Say, hey, neighbor. I have eternal life.
-
It's been sealed. It's sealed. Much like a container,
-
you know. that depending on how they seal something
-
determines how long it can be preserved. A weak
-
seal won't lead to something being preserved
-
for a long time. But you could put a seal around
-
something and it can be preserved for a very
-
long time. I don't know if many of you guys noticed,
-
but yesterday they were sealing a time capsule
-
and they were saying, we don't want this open
-
for another 250 years. Any of y 'all saw that?
-
Thank y 'all for paying attention to the world
-
around us But if you saw it, they didn't just
-
put it in a Ziploc baggie If it's going to last
-
250 years there must be something, a way it's
-
done so that it's guaranteed survive the journey,
-
right? So they took it and they made sure it
-
was airtight, because if liquid gets in, it can
-
harm what's inside of it. They made sure how
-
deep it was dug. They made sure that what it
-
was made out of could last that time. Now you
-
would think, why couldn't they just put it in
-
the ground? Well, if you're talking about 250
-
years, you have to put it in the ground in a
-
way that it can survive all types of things.
-
So when the Bible speaks of you being sealed
-
by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit being
-
a guarantee, it's saying that this is what was
-
necessary so that your eternal life would never
-
be in question. Because the Holy Spirit is the
-
greatest seal you could have to God being on
-
your side. That the Holy Spirit represents God
-
Himself living on the inside of you. And if God
-
moved on the inside of you, look at your neighbor
-
saying, Check it out. He sealed himself in there.
-
Often tell people sometimes when you pass away,
-
you just bring God back where he already put
-
in you. Some of y 'all will catch that. God,
-
I'm bringing back what you put in me. When I
-
got saved, you moved in. Now I'm returning with
-
what you sealed me with. That's how we can experience
-
heaven here on earth heaven lives in you I'm
-
gonna have y 'all some y 'all didn't catch that
-
it's how we can experience Heavenly realities
-
in this physical world is because heaven lives
-
on the inside looking every say hey neighbor
-
heaven lives in you Haha y 'all wanna hear something
-
heaven is sealed in you I often get into arguments
-
with people theological arguments. There's like
-
can you lose your salvation? I said, well, do
-
you know how to undo the seal? You would need
-
you would need to know how to undo the seal in
-
order to it to take what was secured and make
-
it insecure Mmm, but this is important that you
-
see this because this is that finished word You
-
know what I don't like? This is not even part
-
of my message. But it is so wrong, but some of
-
y 'all just need to hear this, because you know
-
what people think? They think their behavior
-
unseals you. But he sealed you so your behavior
-
can't undo what he did. That was the whole point.
-
Jesus was sent so you could no longer get in
-
the way. So how could you now disrupt what he
-
sealed so that you couldn't even mess it up?
-
Y 'all hear what I'm saying It's like putting
-
a child lock on a piece of medicine You know,
-
they put a little child lock so the kid can't
-
get in it. They don't know how to Get it out
-
It's been sealed You've been sealed It's important
-
that you see this because what you understand
-
is this is all done so that you can stop interpreting
-
life through the lens of God not being for you.
-
Because if you start to think that somehow God
-
is out to get you, then you'll start to perceive
-
what's in front of you as him trying to get you.
-
And I tell people God doesn't. punish people,
-
he prunes people. What is punishment? Punishment
-
is when I am correcting you without vision of
-
your future. Pruning is me adjusting you because
-
I know what you can become. Can you perceive
-
and see what God is doing? God knows what he's
-
doing with you. So anything that comes to you,
-
Right comes to you that makes you adjust that's
-
not punishment. That's not that's that's pruning
-
It's for your good and you understand that certain
-
trees have to be seasonally prune Looks at this.
-
Hey neighbor You are seasonally prune Every year
-
there should be something you're working on The
-
fact that I have something to work on isn't evidence
-
that I'm going in the wrong direction. It's evidence
-
that I'm headed in the right direction. The Bible
-
describes God as a loving father who does not
-
withhold what is necessary so that you can become
-
to your full potential. He's not like your earthly
-
father. Your earthly father would correct you
-
through convenience. Your heavenly father corrects
-
you based on what's promised. If your earthly
-
father is tired, you may get a couple a cup,
-
you know a couple lashes If you scream too long,
-
I'm getting emotional it hurts Your heavenly
-
father's like pain don't last always I Can heal
-
anything is broken There's nothing like when
-
you to punish and the physician I know what I
-
can fix He said who is the guarantee of our inheritance
-
until we acquire possession of it to the praise
-
of his glory. So he's also wanting us to live
-
as though we have a reward after life here on
-
earth. The term inheritance speaks of set aside
-
for an appointed time. Set aside for an appointed
-
time and and when you know you have an inheritance
-
How you treat every day should change? Just think
-
about in the natural sense that if You knew you
-
had an inheritance and this inheritance Kicked
-
in once you hit the age 55 you treat 40 54 different
-
Cuz I'm almost there You if someone calls you
-
and says hey you just got fired you like, you
-
know I could just live at somebody else for a
-
year that ain't too long How you how you treat
-
problem changes How you adjust to what's happening
-
around you changes so he's not He's not saying
-
you have an inheritance waiting on you so that
-
you can just put hope in the future. He's wanting
-
you to perceive today differently. He's wanting
-
you to shape this truth and allow it to change
-
how you act tomorrow. In the same way of some,
-
I mean, say it again. If someone told you when
-
you turn 55, you have a million dollars coming
-
your way. If you get fired at 54, From a $35
-
,000 a year job You going out stressing you worried
-
you concerned No, some of y 'all they pass what
-
you talking about they fired me I quit Soon as
-
I found out it was coming I quit Quit at 44 knowing
-
it was coming at 54 Why why why because I have
-
taken ownership of what's to come and So when
-
we talk about living from a finished work is
-
saying I'm taking ownership of what's to come
-
in my today, that I am shaping what I see based
-
on what I already know is settled. Amen, amen.
-
He says, for this reason, because I have heard
-
of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love
-
towards all the saints, I do not cease to give
-
thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers."
-
So what Paul is starting to say, he's listing
-
qualifiers for what he's about to say. The most
-
important thing for you to understand about what
-
he's saying is, is I've observed the condition
-
of your heart. I see how you are. He said, I
-
see your faith in the Lord. I see your love towards
-
the saints. So I don't cease to give thanks for
-
you. Remembering you in my prayers that the God
-
of our Lord Jesus Christ. The father of glory
-
may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation
-
in the knowledge of him. Let me put this in context,
-
because part of what we've been learning to do
-
is become a better community. And he's shaping
-
how we should interact with each other, that
-
we often see brothers and sisters in the faith.
-
Man, your heart ever cried out towards somebody
-
that they are just doing the right thing, but
-
there's not a lot of good things happening. That
-
that it's man. I see you You're keeping the faith.
-
I see you. You're praying. I see you. You're
-
praising. I see you. My heart goes out towards
-
you because I see you are as remaining faithful,
-
although there are many unsettling things in
-
your life. I just want to put you in the context
-
of this. This is what Paul is speaking about
-
them. He's saying, I know it's been long. I know
-
it's been a lot. I know, I know I get it. I get
-
it. You have done what's right. You've been loving
-
on people, you've been praying, praising, so
-
you've been doing all the things yet you have
-
not yet to materialize or see what God is doing
-
for you. Is that all right? Can we talk? And
-
so he prays, this is a prayer. He said, I pray
-
that you can begin to discern the wisdom of what
-
God is doing. Woo, you gotta hear this. I'm gonna
-
read it again. He says, I do not cease to give
-
thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
-
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father
-
of glory may give you the spirit of wisdom and
-
revelation and the knowledge of Him having the
-
eyes of your hearts. enlightened that you may
-
know what is the hope to which he has called
-
you, what the riches of his glorious inheritance
-
is in the saints." So what is Paul praying? Is
-
he praying that God open up the windows of heaven
-
and pour out a blessing that there ain't room
-
to receive? Is he praying that you receive breakthrough
-
and you get that thing you've been praying about?
-
Is he praying that your job changes? Is he praying
-
that your career changes? Is he praying that
-
your family changes? He's not praying for any
-
of those things. What he's actually praying is
-
that you grow in wisdom to see what God is doing.
-
He's actually praying that your eyes are enlightened,
-
that your heart becomes aware of what God is
-
doing. Paul doesn't take a posture of God's not
-
doing nothing. He says, no, no, in every season,
-
God is doing something. The problem is we can't
-
always see what God is doing. So I pray that
-
your eyes become open to what God is doing. I
-
pray that your eyes become exposed, that wisdom
-
grows, your knowledge of Him increases so that
-
you can see what God is doing, because to say
-
He's doing nothing would make you a liar, because
-
God is always working together everything for
-
your good. You can't see it, but He's doing it.
-
You can't recognize it, but it's happening. You
-
don't feel like it, but it's going on. So I'm
-
not praying for breakthrough. I'm praying that
-
your eyes can see what He's doing. God is not
-
withholding any good or beneficial thing from
-
you. God is moving right now. Oh, I'm getting
-
excited. Because this is the message to us today.
-
I know many of y 'all walked in like, God, I
-
pray you break through tomorrow. And God's like,
-
I pray you see what I'm doing right now. You
-
ain't for me to break through. I've already broke
-
through You you have to now take off the scales
-
that are stopping you from seeing what i'm doing
-
Right now because if you can't see me now, you're
-
not gonna see me then Look at them say god is
-
doing a new thing. Can you see it? He's doing
-
it, can you see it? He's doing it, can you see
-
it? It's never his doing, it's our seeing that
-
has the problem. So he prays, open up their hearts.
-
open up their eyes. Let them see God. Let them
-
not get weary and well -doing. Let them continue
-
to be fervent. Let them continue to be patient.
-
Let them see what I'm doing. This is prayer.
-
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened that
-
you may know what is the hope to which he has
-
called you what What are the riches of his glorious
-
inheritance to the saint and what is? immeasurable
-
Greatness of his power towards us who believe
-
he's perceived. He's hoping that you can see
-
the power that is working on your behalf He says
-
to the same measure at which his great might
-
that he worked in Christ when he raised him from
-
the dead and seated him at his right hand in
-
heavenly places, far above. Here we go, verse
-
21 of Getcha. He said, far above all rule and
-
all and authority and power and dominion and
-
above ever. name that is named not only in this
-
age but also in the one to come not only in this
-
age but also in the one to come that he is seated
-
in authority all power over all things on heaven
-
and all things on earth that it is governed by
-
Christ himself That all things in both above
-
and beneath all things in heaven and on earth
-
are governed by Christ What is he challenging
-
us to do to never take Christ out the picture?
-
Cause all things are governed. All things are
-
under his power, under his authority, under his
-
rule, under his reign on both heaven and earth.
-
What does that mean? That means if you can't
-
see God, it doesn't mean cause he's not there.
-
Cause all things are under his power, under his
-
authority. And he is seated next to God. Interceding
-
on the behalf of the believer saying the blood
-
still covers them you can ooh I'm getting ahead
-
of myself, but I'm getting excited cuz we almost
-
there He says then he put all things look 22
-
and he put all things Under his feet and gave
-
him as head over what all things to the church
-
Which is his body the fullness of him who feels
-
all He's saying so he's over all Rules are fills
-
are He's in all Can you see What God is doing
-
Now pastor, this is bad news. Can you see? What
-
God is doing? No, this report ain't good. Can
-
you see? Because he is in all things governs
-
all things over all things Nothing happens that's
-
outside of heaven's reign. Nothing. I know this
-
challenges us, but it challenges us to do what?
-
Pray that God opens up. God, I don't understand
-
why that person is in authority, but open up
-
my eyes. Give me the wisdom to discern why you
-
are allowing this He doesn't give us a space
-
to say that ain't God Whoa What a minute wait
-
a minute we love to say that ain't God he doesn't
-
give space to a that ain't God He gives a challenge
-
to see God, even when you don't like what you're
-
seeing. He gives an invitation to trust him,
-
even when you don't like what you're seeing,
-
but he does not give you the authority to say
-
it ain't him. He's challenging us. To go deeper
-
in our knowledge of God He's challenging us to
-
anytime. I can't see you. It's not a you. It's
-
a me Y 'all just say something with me just say
-
it to yourself God open up my eyes of understanding
-
I Know there's some things you walked in here
-
wondering God is this you This should be your
-
prayer. God, I know you're in it. You cannot
-
be in it. I know you have authority over. Open
-
up my eyes. Grow me in the knowledge of who you
-
are so that I can see you. But Paul covers three
-
core principles of our finished work. Seated,
-
sealed, and settled. That we must see Christ
-
as seated. We must see ourselves as sealed. And
-
we must see everything concerning our lives as
-
settled. Because it's all under his authority.
-
There's nothing in your life that God doesn't
-
govern. I'm gonna let that sit for a moment,
-
because we love to say you messed it up. His
-
grace is sufficient. His mercy endures. You can
-
either take that statement and cast it out or
-
use that truth to reshape what you see. Choice
-
is yours. You can say past Brian you crazy fine
-
stay sad Fine stay frustrated stay mad stay unsettled
-
But as for me I'm seated Boy the joy of the Lord
-
is like a flowing river in my life Why because
-
I refuse to remove God from my life. Good decisions,
-
bad decisions, great outcomes, bad outcomes.
-
It doesn't matter. He's seated. I'm sealed. So
-
everything that concerns me is settled. Look
-
at your neighbor, say, it's settled. And then
-
look at him and say, hey, I'm talking about,
-
look, keep talking to him. I'm talking about
-
that thing you're worried about. It's settled.
-
If he be seated and you be sealed, all things
-
are settled. He's walking us through these theological
-
principles that are a core foundation to our
-
finished work and how we move as people of faith
-
Seated sealed settled Truth is we don't just
-
fill our hearts with the future. Hope we fill
-
our eyes with the present god That's what he's
-
trying to get us to do is You have to fill your
-
eyes with the present God. I think one of the
-
most powerful things that Paul says here, which
-
really should agitate you just a little bit,
-
it says having the eyes of your heart enlightened.
-
See, the thing about the heart, a heart is a
-
controversial topic in the church. Many people
-
are under the belief that your heart is of evil
-
and it has no hope. But Paul is actually challenging
-
that very set of theological belief that your
-
heart is forever ruined That what happened to
-
you will forever be a part of how you shape what
-
you see No, no, no. He's coming against the very
-
thing that people have Wrongfully theologically
-
said that it is irrelevant to your faith and
-
he's saying no I Know you know your spirit the
-
spirit is his I know you know your mind is being
-
renewed, but many of y 'all still believe that
-
your heart has been damaged and so you can't
-
do nothing about it. It's the result of your
-
decisions, it's the result of what people have
-
done to you, that there are things inside of
-
you that you are just, can't get past. It hurt
-
me. They hurt me. It hurt me. I'm damaged. How
-
I treat people, interact with people, interface
-
with people is forever going to be tainted because
-
God can't do nothing with this. I'll remind you
-
the words of David. Lord, creating me a clean
-
heart, renewing me a right spirit. Paul is also
-
acknowledging. that same process at that point,
-
and said, may their hearts be flooded and filled
-
with you. May God continually and perpetually
-
purge you from the pain. May he continue to heal
-
you from what happened. A lot of our unanswered
-
questions about what's going on are actually
-
stored in our heart. The heart does describe
-
that one space that many people don't wanna hear.
-
It's not what you said, it's how you said it.
-
That you find out that the heart rules expression.
-
Matter of fact, Jesus says out of the abundance
-
of the heart, the mouth speaks. That it controls
-
and it dictates what is expressed. That truthfully
-
you can believe a thing. But if your heart remains
-
disconnected, it will be hard for you to even
-
speak what you believe. I ain't talking to myself.
-
That many of you guys truthfully allow the pain
-
of your past to control the confession you have
-
today. You allow your present conditions to stop
-
the confession of faith God has given to you.
-
You you're allowing people's perception of how
-
they will feel about what you said and how many
-
times you said it before and nothing happened
-
I'm gonna wait this time till I get some evidence.
-
What are you talking about? The just shall live
-
by faith You holding my past failures against
-
me is your problem not mine How you change perception
-
of me based on my past is your problem not mine
-
It's time that you put the problem in the right
-
place And you thinking that you can outwork people's
-
perception of you is crazy If they have decided
-
that you are a failure Let let let god be true
-
and every man be a liar. I could care less I'm
-
gonna say it to this side. You just I could care
-
less I believe God says, and shout it from the
-
top of the mountain until he bring me home. I'm
-
not gonna stop. I'm not gonna stop. I'ma keep
-
saying it as he said it to me. I'ma keep speaking
-
it as confidently as I see the work is finished.
-
God is what it is. What that sound like to y
-
'all? Settled. I'm not gonna let my heart determine
-
how I respond to who God is. You believe it in
-
your mind, but it is your heart that has you
-
half -stepping and half -speaking and shy, discouraging.
-
And he says, I pray that God take that heart
-
and enlightens it with the understanding of who
-
he is. I'll never forget this. I've never shared
-
this from the pulpit. I've shared this to people
-
privately, when it's important. And I just felt
-
the Spirit of the Lord say, it's okay, you can
-
share it now. Some of the greatest battles that
-
I faced in order to be where I'm standing right
-
now, no one ever saw. I'm saying this not so
-
you can think about me. I want you to think about
-
you as I'm talking about this. And so it's hard
-
for people to see that I belong here because
-
they weren't there for the battles that got me
-
here. And if I'm being honest, the battles that
-
got me here aren't even battles you would even
-
share or shout from the mountaintops. The actual
-
struggles aren't things that are popular to talk
-
about in church. The victories that I'm most
-
proud of aren't the ones that you would write
-
a post about. And I look back and I say, man,
-
God, I didn't know that was what you was doing.
-
I know. I can look back now and realize why that
-
was what it was, but... In the midst of it...
-
So what happened, Pastor Bryan? Um, and y 'all
-
forgive me for the dates. It's not the dates
-
that's important, but the timing of things. Um,
-
I was in college. Truly truly believed that I
-
that God had called me to be a designer and architect
-
So I went to USF and signed up to be an architect
-
and engineer And First semester I could just
-
tell like something something something it I
-
Called up my mom and I said I'll just expedite
-
this to so I can get to the part. I said mom
-
God just told me that The church needs some help
-
and I'm supposed to help she could tell you I
-
thought it was like I was supposed to go out
-
there and come up here move some boxes and Something
-
like that That's what I thought The truth of
-
the matter is I never saw the destiny of my life
-
connected to this building So I would go up and
-
do whatever I was asked to do But I didn't really
-
see myself as woven into the future of it. This
-
is how far back I'm dating. I'm just coming out
-
of college. I was like, I'm going to be an architect.
-
At that time, I was trained to be a professional
-
golfer. And I was on the side of, you know, I'm
-
going to help the church by giving big offerings.
-
Anybody ever been in that category? So that would
-
be my thing. Once I pop off as a professional
-
golfer, you know, My parents will never have
-
to worry about asking people to sew again cuz
-
I got you and I figured that's my service to
-
the kingdom I'm just saying this as a son watching
-
my parents and so She says yeah, I'll come up
-
I went to her I said so what do you want me to
-
do? She said I don't know My dad was here. So
-
I went up to him. I said what you want me to
-
do he says I don't know. I said, no, one of y
-
'all got to tell me something to do so I can
-
leave. But God told me to come here. She can
-
tell you, I literally was walking between his
-
office and the parking lot. My dad just gets
-
up to leave like I'm leaving the building. This
-
is your thing, not my thing. So I end up back
-
to my mom's expediting it. And I said, listen,
-
I just need to do whatever it is that God told
-
me to do so I can go. What I observed was that
-
there was Help needed one of the hardest places
-
to to get people to be a part of is as it concerns
-
the finances in the church Simply because people
-
just be tripping to make that supple and so I
-
Said okay. I've always been very acute as it
-
comes to financial things and so Said alright,
-
I'll tell you what. Um, it had grew to the point
-
to where she was like This is where we need help
-
at I had switched my major to accounting in business
-
So that I could specialize Once I realized you
-
need a degree to do what this is so I can specialize
-
so I can do my assignment and keep it moving
-
What I didn't know Is at that same point in time
-
now I'm going pretty fast here is um, you know,
-
I would find a young lady named Rashida Fall
-
in love with her Now we talking about marriage.
-
Well marriage and my part -time career don't
-
go together. I need a job now So now the place
-
I came to volunteer not I was I was working for
-
free He bothered me I got other plans It was
-
actually became a joke at one point because I
-
had got seven people jobs and I still ain't had
-
one that's what people would say What they didn't
-
know is that I'm gonna just talk a little trash
-
that I have provision, you know Not of you know,
-
I'm saying my heavenly father takes care of Brian
-
I've already out that was fine But now I need
-
a job because I'm talking about getting married
-
we need things I Stay upstairs at my parents
-
crib Seated sealed instead of upstairs Bother
-
me. Yeah, you can ask mama. It did not bother
-
me People will come how long you gonna live upstairs
-
at your parents house. I said listen when I leave
-
here I guarantee you it will be in my own house
-
That's what I told him through some look back
-
at them. You throw shade at me I got some shape
-
for you to Christians know how to poke bears,
-
too Y 'all don't lie. We got petty in our system.
-
It was a little petty, but it was what it was
-
You know I'm saying so I'm upstairs when I leave
-
here will be with my wife in our new house I
-
had no job. I had some aspirations, strong ones.
-
So let me fast -forward. So, you know, it was
-
determined that my work unto the Lord was worthy
-
of being hired, but at an entry -level position.
-
So I got hired at an entry -level position with
-
entry -level dollars. If you don't know my father,
-
maybe it would confuse you. But no, he don't
-
care about none of that stuff. Listen. So here
-
I am. God has called me to do, to the job. He's
-
called me to do. And I do feel... Can we just
-
talk? I do feel pressure. I'm thinking about,
-
I just proposed to this girl. We need a house.
-
We need cars. I'm feeling real financial pressures,
-
because I'm still upstairs in my parents' crib.
-
We got to get up out of here I'm trying to find
-
anything that fit my budget as far as housing
-
But you got to eat once you get in there And
-
in my mind I told myself Brian just work as hard
-
as you can They'll see it. And when they see
-
it, you'll get increase. So give it all you got,
-
because you got to get married. And you can't
-
stay here, although you know that here is where
-
you belong. I worked, I worked, I worked. Guess
-
what, y 'all? No increase. Matter of fact...
-
I got a change in assignment. Don't want to hear
-
what it was. I was assistant to doing payroll
-
for the church. See, I thought everybody was
-
getting paid when I was getting paid. I'll never
-
forget the day That book rolled open And I saw
-
what my co -laborers was getting paid And what
-
I was getting paid what they was doing and what
-
I was doing what I needed that they had And I
-
said god, why did you put me here The first thing
-
that hit me was envy, jealousy, strife. When
-
I tell you I got hit with every spirit, I was,
-
God get me out. You know my need. Why would you
-
put me here? I'm trying to keep my heart pure
-
and every week I'm reminded. not appreciated
-
them thoughts start coming I never had that thought
-
a day in my life I said I'm unappreciated they
-
don't see my value they don't recognize me all
-
these things every week are flooding my heart
-
I'm getting mad at people they don't even know
-
why I stopped doing things because I was like
-
You gonna do this one you doing this one today
-
you will work today I Was in the fight of my
-
life To remain Pure While having to deal with
-
emotions that I knew were there to shipwreck
-
me. I said, God, I don't know what you were doing
-
and why you have me here, seeing this. And I
-
just kept remembering, God, I don't want to become
-
what I'm thinking. Don't want to become realistic,
-
but I was failing I was Times ticking down People
-
complain and I'm thinking you complain you don't
-
even know what struggle is But I'm surrounded
-
I want y 'all get the reality I'm surrounded
-
by so much wealth. But I'm seated in the midst
-
of it with so much struggle. And God told me
-
to do this, and this is my suggestion to some
-
of y 'all. I said, Brian, I need you to sit down.
-
Because obviously the first attack first attack
-
was with my parents And I knew he was trying
-
to get me Just to change my heart towards them
-
My parents have been incredible Unbelievable
-
So I need you to sit down He says, you know how
-
much you make? I say, yeah. He says, now I need
-
you to add up. If you had to pay for all the
-
things I've blessed you with this year, how much
-
would it add up to? I sat down and started to
-
write it every Every dinner, my parents paid.
-
I said, man, I'm living in their house. If I
-
had to pay rent, how much would that be? I started
-
to write it all out. All the trips. What my parents
-
had blessed me with was more than I was making.
-
I'm not done yet. He says, Brian, this is what
-
I want you to receive for the rest of your life.
-
If you receive this, you'll be able to serve
-
me in purity for the rest of your life. I didn't
-
see this assignment. but I never want you to
-
ever think that how blessed you are is governed
-
by the amount of money you make. He said them
-
two things can never be connected. He said you
-
are blessed. You are blessed. You know what you
-
make, but you are blessed. Think about how you
-
were living. Think about what I have done. He
-
said that he went in on Friday and said, Brian,
-
had I had given you the same money that they've
-
blessed you with, would you have done the things
-
you enjoyed with the money? I said, no. If you
-
had given me the money instead of it coming through
-
them, I would have saved it. He says, not only.
-
Am I taking care of you? But I'm making sure
-
you enjoy life Because if I had given you the
-
money you wouldn't have even used it to enjoy
-
life. He said I'm protecting your enjoyment in
-
life He said but you got one other problem you
-
got to settle You can never disqualify a blessing
-
because of the hands it came through Because
-
they were my parents I had disqualified it as
-
a blessing. Oh I'm talking now. I have figured
-
it's their responsibility. No, it's not No, it's
-
not It's not their responsibility. It wasn't
-
their responsibility. So I had a whole category
-
of blessings from God that I had disqualified
-
as part of what he was doing so I couldn't see.
-
What he was doing not because he wasn't doing
-
it But because my heart was fixed on seeing things
-
how I want them to be I wanted the money to go
-
through my account. I wanted to make the choice
-
I wanted to control this I wanted to control
-
that meanwhile God's like boy I'm trying to bring
-
you to a life where you are freely living according
-
to what I dictate I want you to understand the
-
numbers will never determine how blessed you
-
are. I am with you. I'm with You will always
-
live above what that paycheck says I Came out
-
of there not a dollar had changed But my whole
-
life changed when I allow God to sit me down
-
So I could see what he was doing an incredible
-
tool but a horrible master he will never let
-
you be the master but that don't dictate the
-
life you gonna live and the life you are living
-
look at you never say I am blessed if you struggling
-
with that the prayer is God open up my eyes So
-
that I can see how blessed I am because the it
-
ain't with you That's me and a lot of y 'all
-
have disqualified things cast things out consider
-
it no longer good Some things God's been so consistently
-
good you don't even call it good no more That's
-
a you problem not a he problem I don't count
-
that no more. It's been too consistent. That's
-
a crazy thing to say. That's a crazy thing to
-
say. When's the last time you was hungry and
-
couldn't buy food? Exactly. You the problem.
-
Because there's people... If you can't if you
-
are willing to become callous because of consistency
-
That's a principal problem more ain't gonna solve
-
that Matter of fact more will cause you to form
-
pride right there Some of y 'all trying to figure
-
out why the money always funny it ain't funny
-
it's always control just not by you Why can't
-
I ever just get to this because if you got to
-
that you would leave him Take no thought for
-
what you need for your heavenly father knows
-
You have to see God as walking with you to live
-
by that We know that, but we struggle to live
-
that. Can I get a cap? Y 'all better testify.
-
We know that we are not supposed to live and
-
plan and store, yet we store, we keep, we protect.
-
And he says sufficient for today is the supply.
-
I tell you all the time, you don't have a money
-
problem. You just thinks it's you. Think it's
-
gonna last longer than what God has planned You
-
have a timing problem The only reason you're
-
not blessed because you think a five -year supply
-
is supposed to go ten years You can't see what
-
God's about to do in four years So you you don't
-
know there's a real So you living like it's the
-
last so you stressed out though. You're blessed
-
That ain't God promise you problem that's what
-
you can see because you can't see the next thing
-
he's doing you only can you're only monetizing
-
and looking at the last thing he's did as if
-
it's the last thing he's gonna do that's a perception
-
problem that's an eye problem not a God problem
-
It's amazing. I just want to say this so that
-
y 'all can hear what I'm saying. Y 'all saying
-
this off the chain, and I cry every time I think
-
about it. That was one of the most painful moments
-
of my life. Satan was trying to get me to hate
-
my parents. Y 'all didn't see that victory. Couldn't
-
post about that one That wasn't popular to talk
-
about It was the fight of my life and no one
-
even gives you an applause for it That's what
-
I want y 'all to connect with Because many of
-
you guys are in a fight for your life ain't nobody
-
gonna give you no applause, but God sees you
-
They look at me and say, I don't know how he
-
got up there. I think about all the nights I
-
cried to keep my heart pure so that God could
-
use me in this moment. Battles fall in one that
-
no one even cares about. Acronym, something is
-
always shifting. God is always erasing, and my
-
situation is always evolving. C, I'm looking,
-
but I must remember, something is always, not
-
shifting, sifting. That God is always separating
-
the wheat from the tares. That's why some people
-
you thought was gonna be there. Because he's
-
always sifting. He's always sifting. He's always
-
taking what is and making sure what don't belong
-
don't stick around. It's always sifting. So I
-
don't care if they tripped out and left because
-
God is always sifting. Always sifting. Life feels
-
unsettled. It's not unsettled. It's all God's
-
always sifting. That's I call it unsettled. He
-
calls it sifting That's my perception It's always
-
sifted always He's always a racing what you mean
-
a racing for giving you for what you've done
-
So I can't look at what I see and think I'm being
-
punished Because God's always a race I Know you
-
did it but his grace is sufficient So I can't
-
take the lens of condemnation and say this is
-
my punishment He's always a racing and things
-
are always evolving evolution we're like from
-
caterpillars to butterflies the transformation
-
is unmistakably real but still hard to fathom
-
how can you can go from a life of crawling to
-
a life of flying I never knew it could fly It's
-
nothing like when God hits you with those, I
-
never knew it could be like this. These things
-
are always evolving. You are always evolving.
-
I never saw myself as this. But you are always
-
evolving. So when I... that what I'm seeing is
-
always sifting, God's always erasing, and I'm
-
always evolving. Father God, I thank you for
-
today and thank you for the opportunity to come
-
and to present your word. I pray that your word
-
went forth and just healed our hearts and renewed
-
our minds and stirred us up in our spirit. Father
-
God, I pray that as we go out with this truth
-
that... We don't keep it to ourselves that we
-
impact the community around us with this truth.
-
Let's bring a new question to those atmospheres
-
of doubt. Can you see what God is doing? But
-
if anybody's hearing you're not saved, you haven't
-
given your life to Jesus Christ, I'd like to
-
take this moment to open up. I guess it's always
-
open. I'd like to take this moment for us to
-
have the pleasure of welcoming you into the kingdom
-
of God. So if that's you and you want to be saved,
-
I want you to do something. I want you to use
-
the first one on the left if you're here. Type
-
it in the chat if you're listening. It takes
-
a confession of the mouth and a belief in the
-
heart. nor forsake us. We understand that God
-
is always one of us to sow a seed, because as
-
long as the earth remains, there shall be seed,
-
time, and harvest. But we sow cheerfully because
-
we're not doing it out of necessity. We're not
-
doing it because we've been convinced or forced
-
to do it. We're doing it because we've heard
-
from God, and God has instructed us to do so.
-
So you can be cheerful. about anything God has
-
placed in your heart to do. But that's why we
-
declare that we are, what church? Cheerful givers.
-
Amen? Well, as you guys, so I'm gonna have them
-
play a video. This is incredible, but I'll let
-
them play it and then I'll talk afterwards. at
-
the Young Hearts Big Dreams Summer Camp. Let's
-
go. Art is what? It's a way of what? Expressing
-
yourself. Art was a form of escape for me. It
-
was a way of me getting outside of the world.
