  1. I want to leave this room more in love with you.

  2. And Father God, we pray that as we open up the

  3. word today that you begin to root us and ground

  4. us in your truth and set a pace, set a path for

  5. us that only you can. We are thankful that you

  6. called us out of darkness and to this marvelous

  7. light that you've given us so many precious promises.

  8. We thank you that you didn't do it because we

  9. are good, but because Jesus was enough. And we

  10. thank you for your son, Jesus, dying and inviting

  11. us into this incredible family. We are partakers

  12. because of his sacrifice and we are thankful

  13. this morning. In your precious name, I pray the

  14. name above all names, Jesus, y 'all say with

  15. me, amen, amen. Well, go ahead, love on the person

  16. next to you one more time. It's amazing. You

  17. know, I know I was only not here for one week,

  18. but it feels like forever I don't know why it

  19. feels like forever, but here we are right We're

  20. in our sermon series. I have a reason to praise

  21. and Man just thankful for our brothers last week

  22. our pastors Greg and pastors damage and You know

  23. as I was watching them I was thinking man We

  24. should do this more often and so then I called

  25. them up and I asked did you enjoy yourselves?

  26. And they say yes, I said well then that that's

  27. implications. You just agreed to do this more

  28. I Said if I would have led with that question,

  29. I don't know if you would have responded the

  30. same way So I just snuck it in there But yes,

  31. we are going to take another step right today

  32. we are going to do something incredible say hey

  33. neighbor we are going to do all of ephesians

  34. chapter three the whole thing whole thing it's

  35. best served on one platter and so um i am excited

  36. about what god is going to speak to us um through

  37. this today, but the subject is simple, right?

  38. I'm seeing if y 'all haven't grown tired of talking

  39. to your neighbor yet. We'll do it one more time.

  40. Let's just try it out one more time, see if we

  41. still get participation. But say, hey, neighbor.

  42. Don't lose heart. Don't lose heart. And... You

  43. know, we went through last well a couple weeks

  44. ago we went through and I showed you that there's

  45. there's only certain spaces in our spiritual

  46. order and how we live that there's opportunities

  47. for Satan to get in and one of those places was

  48. our heart and So today's message is designed

  49. to help us all Stay rooted and grounded Although

  50. our heart does play a role in how we do what

  51. God says You know the Bible of course tells us

  52. that guard your heart above all else because

  53. out of it flows the issues of life and you know

  54. Your heart will make issues of life. Your heart

  55. will make issues with life and you know, it will

  56. absolutely derail anything that's even of God

  57. in your life. And so we cannot act as though

  58. it's something we have to guard it, in other

  59. words, but we want it to be one that is full

  60. of life. One of the things that we'll read here

  61. in Ephesians is Paul's prayer for the believer

  62. is that their heart become full and flooded with

  63. Christ himself. that our objective is for our

  64. heart to be consumed by Christ, and for him to

  65. be, everything within our heart to be full and

  66. flooded with Christ himself. We'll do it one

  67. more time. Say, hey neighbor, you should be full

  68. of something. That something is Christ. A lot

  69. of us are full of some things. And Ephesians

  70. 3 It really Deals with and if y 'all just allow

  71. me to do this it'll help us go through this movie

  72. as we go We're gonna do the whole chapter, right?

  73. So just making sure that we are all on the same

  74. page here I'm because we're gonna be using a

  75. word that I don't want you to hear and run from

  76. because one of the places and specifically in

  77. Ephesians chapter three, Paul is helping us guard

  78. our heart in seasons of suffering. And I say

  79. that because many believers don't want to hear

  80. that word or don't want to know that there may

  81. be something that They may have to suffer through,

  82. but you know, right? That Jesus told us, be of

  83. good cheer. I have overcome this world. In this

  84. world, you will suffer persecution, but be of

  85. what? Good cheer, because I have overcome the

  86. world. So it's not that our lives won't end in

  87. suffering, but many times our lives, we go through

  88. suffering. And if your heart isn't grounded,

  89. You won't survive that season, or thrive in that

  90. season, or better yet, check this out church,

  91. grow through that season. Because truthfully,

  92. the only reason suffering will hit your door

  93. is because glory is available. That suffering

  94. is evidence that glory is pending. Go ahead,

  95. tell your neighbor that. Say, hey neighbor, suffering

  96. is evidence. that glory is pending. That right

  97. there should give, I'll be trying to give y 'all

  98. reasons to praise and y 'all be missing the praise

  99. points. So we'll try that again. Neighbor, suffering

  100. is evidence that glory is pending. Let's see

  101. how far we in here right now. So, so neighbor,

  102. I say this with courage and confidence. Don't

  103. lose heart. Why, why, why? Because suffering

  104. is evidence that glory is pending. But check

  105. this out, right? when we speak of suffering,

  106. it's a physical, emotional, or spiritual pain

  107. experienced in a fallen world. That is why we

  108. will all suffer persecution. I know a lot of

  109. times people think of persecution from their

  110. personal choices, but we got to realize when

  111. the Bible speaks about suffering, it's speaking

  112. about the results of living in a fallen world.

  113. Because we live in a fallen world, there will

  114. be persecution. There will be things that are

  115. physically, emotionally, and spiritually experienced

  116. that don't agree with your heart, that don't

  117. agree with what God is doing, that you will see

  118. things, tragedy will occur, right? And you will

  119. say, that just doesn't agree with what I believe

  120. is good. And some people fail there, because

  121. they'll be like, how could that even be God if

  122. it's not good? Like, why would God allow something

  123. like that? And when you can't reconcile those

  124. things, your heart gets troubled. Like, many

  125. of us have faced things in life that is like,

  126. how is God so full of grace, so full of truth,

  127. so full of mercy, so full of forgiveness, yet

  128. I still feel this? Right? And... We need to appropriate

  129. that because if you don't appropriate that, you'll

  130. start to lose heart. You'll start to realize

  131. that God is not only a God of grace, mercy, and

  132. truth, but check this out. He's also a God of

  133. promise and order. He's both. He's all of that.

  134. And so if we major on the grace, the mercy and

  135. the forgiveness while minimizing the order and

  136. the promise, we won't be able to manage seasons

  137. well. Y 'all alright? Y 'all want me to go back

  138. on my road trip? But just to give you some more,

  139. right? That there are suffering, right? There's

  140. suffering due to personal bad choices. There's

  141. suffering that's just persecution because of

  142. you are following God's way. We've been talking

  143. about that the last few weeks that there are

  144. people who are not spiritually alive. So by nature,

  145. they are not going to respond well to things

  146. God is doing. And so you suffer persecution,

  147. although you are obeying God. Right that people

  148. will talk about you because they don't understand

  149. what you were talking about Then also this persecution

  150. because we live in a broken world, right? This

  151. is believers that that oftentimes you're wondering

  152. why am I dealing with this sickness? Why am I

  153. dealing with this pain? Why am I carrying and

  154. Paul's word? Why do I have this thorn? Right.

  155. I have this thing that I can't pray away and

  156. it won't go away And if you don't have proper

  157. perspective, our fathers would say like this,

  158. how you see the problem is the problem. It was

  159. amazing on this little road trip that we were

  160. having, I was teaching Amber an valuable lesson.

  161. But my baby has gotten to what they call squishy

  162. trading, which apparently is like, you know,

  163. I mirrored it too in my day how you used to trade.

  164. Cards, you know, you used to go to school and

  165. you would trade cards with people. You bring

  166. your good cards and you trade cards with somebody

  167. to see, man, you got some good cards. I got some

  168. good cards, but we didn't have the internet.

  169. So you ain't know until you got home and did

  170. some research that you made a bad trade. And

  171. so the next day you come back to school with

  172. vengeance in your eyes. Like, bro, you gonna,

  173. you gonna give me my stuff back. Everything needs

  174. to be restored back to normal. You give me mine

  175. back, I give you yours back. And you know, Amber

  176. unfortunately got caught up in some bad squishy

  177. trading. And she looked at me, she looked at

  178. Rashida, she was like, I need y 'all to call

  179. that girl's mama up and tell her to give me my

  180. stuff back. And I said, well, you're here in

  181. this world, you will suffer persecution. I said,

  182. sometimes the lesson is learning that you cannot

  183. operate this way. If it meant so much to you,

  184. you should have kept it. I said, this is a lesson.

  185. I said, but um, I said, she, I mean, she, she,

  186. she, she, she, she didn't stop there. If you

  187. know Amber, boy, Amber, Amber actually somehow,

  188. some way, you know, got in contact with the,

  189. with the, hopefully she not listening to this.

  190. If this, you understand all this is true. Your

  191. daughter did it, but Amber somehow. Got in contact

  192. and the mama was like don't worry about I talked

  193. to my daughter and she's gonna give her all her

  194. squishies back I'm like don't give her back.

  195. I Don't want her to get her squishies back I

  196. want her to realize that you cannot walk around

  197. in this world with rose -colored glasses on You

  198. have to realize that not everybody is going to

  199. do right by you. That if something is of value,

  200. it's important that you treat it like it's valuable.

  201. More important than her getting her squishies

  202. back is the life lesson she's learning in this

  203. moment. She's only going to become better as

  204. a result of going through this. She's crying

  205. now, but she will praise this principle later.

  206. I hope you all hear what I'm saying to you, because

  207. many of y 'all are crying. now, but you're gonna

  208. praise the principle you learn later. I understand

  209. it's not what you wanted, it's not what you picked,

  210. it's not what you chose. You couldn't have made

  211. a different decision. You would still have ended

  212. up in the same place, but you serve a good God.

  213. Look at your neighbor say, but you serve a good

  214. God. And he's working all things together for

  215. your good. If suffering is the season, it's because

  216. glory is pending. We don't run from it. Listen,

  217. you learn from it. You grow from it. You mature

  218. from it. Whoo! Well, I'm preaching the whole

  219. thing before we get to it, but... I'm gonna share

  220. this point because it actually fits perfectly

  221. here. But you have to realize this, that truth

  222. is no amount of self effort can free you from

  223. a burden God is using to produce something new

  224. in you. No amount of self effort can free you

  225. from what God is using to grow you. You can work

  226. as hard as you want. as much as you want, but

  227. if God is using it, it shall remain. What does

  228. that mean? I mean, I have to change my mind.

  229. But let's get into this. Y 'all ready? He said

  230. Paul says first one for this reason I Paul a

  231. prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles

  232. Look at this. It's amazing to me that that that

  233. Paul takes a term that has negative connotations

  234. and Uses it to associate himself with his righteous

  235. founding I'm not a prisoner of Them. I'm a prisoner

  236. of Christ Paul. You made that up Know we read

  237. it as though it's now you're a prisoner for Christ.

  238. You gotta realize Paul originated the term prisoner

  239. of Christ There's no such thing as a good prisoner

  240. and Paul's like yes there is I Don't know what

  241. you call these chains, but I'm in these chains

  242. for Christ Y 'all call it suffering I call it

  243. assignment how you see the problem He said, assuming

  244. that you have heard of the stewardship of God's

  245. grace that was given to me for you, look at these

  246. words. Man, assuming that you have heard of the

  247. stewardship of God's grace that was given to

  248. me, what is Paul starting to plant in them? He's

  249. actually starting to deal with them thinking

  250. that he's less than he is because of where he

  251. is. And so it says, assuming that you've heard

  252. of this, you gotta know some things. You gotta

  253. know some things. How do I survive and thrive

  254. in seasons of suffering? You have to know some

  255. things. You have to be grounded in some things.

  256. There has to be some things that you are rooted

  257. in, grounded in, that cannot change because you

  258. ain't even set it up. That's what we've been

  259. talking about these last two weeks We have a

  260. reason to praise because God changed everything

  261. without even asking you if you thought it was

  262. a good idea He made you he invited Gentiles into

  263. his precious promises without asking you if it

  264. was a good idea. He just did it He says verse

  265. 3 how the mystery was made known to me by revelation

  266. As I have written briefly, what is he speaking

  267. to? He was saying like, listen, I understand

  268. that it takes a grounding of who I am to receive

  269. from who I am. Right. But I also want you to

  270. know that I was this was made known to me by

  271. God, that this wasn't something I thought of.

  272. This is something God gave to me that this mystery,

  273. what was once unknown, has been made known because

  274. God revealed it to me. What are you saying, Pastor

  275. Brian? God is always in the business of transitioning

  276. unknown things to known things. Look in there

  277. and say, hey neighbor, I know you don't know

  278. now, but God is a God who transitions unknown

  279. things into known things. It's what he does.

  280. So it once was a mystery to many people, but

  281. God took what was mysterious to others and through

  282. the spirit of God, he made it known to me. We

  283. got to hear what Paul is saying what we are learning

  284. here is that there are things that are mysterious

  285. to you now You may not know why you are suffering,

  286. but you have a God who is in the business of

  287. transitioning unknown things into known things

  288. Through his spirit that his spirit will in time

  289. take what is unknown to you now and make it known

  290. Revelation so that it can feed your heart So

  291. it's okay not to know Because you are connected

  292. to the source that releases what needs to be

  293. known Sometimes people come to me this like I

  294. prayed I've been praying about what to do about

  295. this and God hasn't said nothing yet I said maybe

  296. because he doesn't see it as a problem I've been

  297. asking God what to do about this issue. He's

  298. been silent maybe because you see it as something

  299. he's never saw that It's hard for me to give

  300. you a solution to a problem. I don't see as a

  301. problem And when you're in that moment, you don't

  302. lose heart you say well in time what is unknown

  303. to me now God will make known by his spirit I

  304. carried the spirit of God that spirit has the

  305. ability to reveal all things necessary for my

  306. life So if it's unknown is also check this out

  307. unnecessary That is, unknown is also unnecessary.

  308. Because if it was necessary for me to know for

  309. where God's taken me, I have the spirit that

  310. makes things unknown known. I have the spirit

  311. that reveals what's necessary for what I'm supposed

  312. to do. So if it's unknown, it's also un... So

  313. I'm not losing heart over what I haven't figured

  314. out yet. I'm not losing heart because I don't

  315. have the plan yet I'm not caving in because I

  316. don't know the way yet when I need to make a

  317. step God will make the step clear I Don't know

  318. God's not trying to make this difficult God is

  319. a God that makes all things Come preach with

  320. me. He makes all things possible not all things

  321. Use whatever word you want to use it's fine with

  322. me fill the blank what you use but God is not

  323. the God that makes life difficult. He's the God

  324. that makes life Use whatever word y 'all want

  325. to use it's fine No Salvation was a confession

  326. in a belief the greatest gift took a confession

  327. and a belief, and then eternal life was granted

  328. to you. Why would he make living a life that's

  329. pleasing more difficult than the decision to

  330. have eternal life with him? It's not difficult.

  331. We often just don't like what we see. And that's

  332. okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

  333. But that's another thing, like, you know, all

  334. right, I'll wait that, see if we get a little

  335. bit more mature today. But you realize something,

  336. it's actually absolutely 100 % okay to say you

  337. don't like something. I don't cancel what God

  338. is doing because I, Communicate to you that I

  339. don't like what's happening I Don't like it Don't

  340. mean I'm about to quit But let's be clear things

  341. must change Because this can't stay like this

  342. this can't stay like this and but I quit But

  343. if you trying to get me to confess that I like

  344. what I don't like you got the wrong one I Was

  345. thinking this husband's and wives go into each

  346. other now, I'm like, you know, I'm just a prisoner

  347. for Jesus right now How you feel about this marriage

  348. I'm just in prison for Jesus I mean I'm a prisoner

  349. of Christ. How did Paul say it? I'm a prisoner

  350. for Christ. You know what? You asked me how I

  351. was doing. There is the truth. I feel like I'm

  352. in prison for Christ. Y 'all want me to move

  353. on, but I'm letting that soak for a minute, because

  354. some of y 'all, that's a full -on confession

  355. right now. You just felt your freedom. You felt

  356. your whole freedom. Is that acceptable to the

  357. same pastor? If it keeps your heart connected,

  358. if it keeps your commitment grounded for you

  359. to carry the right perspective. I'm not doing

  360. this for us no more. I'm here for us. I'm here

  361. for what I believe God is doing with us. I'm

  362. here because I believe what God can do with what's

  363. happening. When you read this you can perceive

  364. my insight into the mystery of Christ which was

  365. not made known to the sons of men and other Generations

  366. as it is has now been revealed to this holy apostle

  367. and the prophets by spirit He's doing a little

  368. homework to let them know. Hey, I know y 'all

  369. heard a lot of things, but it was not revealed

  370. to them It was real to me. It was revealed to

  371. us Right when we were talking about this because

  372. just make sure we went too far away Remember

  373. that paul was telling them that those walls of

  374. that temple had came down. Although the walls

  375. are still there And so even in this moment He's

  376. still having to do work on them things that they've

  377. heard from people and he's letting know those

  378. people did not Have this revelation they did

  379. not know these things and he's making sure that

  380. they're creating check this out proper categories

  381. for things they've heard and as believers we

  382. have to May create proper categories for things

  383. we have heard There are things you have heard

  384. that came from people who did not hear from god

  385. There's things that you told yourself that weren't

  386. things that god said about you and it's important

  387. that you Appropriate that content that those

  388. were things I said when I was not really actually

  389. listening to what god wanted me to do I'm the

  390. only one with my hand up in the church. I'm the

  391. only one that had a moment My heart was losing

  392. I was losing heart getting a little emotional

  393. and I said a few things that I would really like

  394. to scrunch from the record Just a few statements

  395. out there y 'all could just go ahead and scrub

  396. them from the record I said them, even in court,

  397. y 'all ever seen a court case when they'd be

  398. like, look, look, look, look, Judge, stop, stop,

  399. stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. And

  400. they'd be like, we need to go ahead and just

  401. blank that out from the record. They were not

  402. supposed to, y 'all, when the witness is saying

  403. far more than they were supposed to say, and

  404. they're like, we asked you this question, you

  405. answered all of these things. What we need to

  406. do is every response that didn't fit the exact

  407. question, get rid of that. And we're all gonna

  408. pretend like we did not hear a word they said

  409. about the things they said. Y 'all ever seen

  410. that in court? You ever been in a trial where

  411. they had to do that for you? I was under emotional

  412. distress. I was distressed. They said, my mama,

  413. I said, It was three minutes of blankness. I

  414. don't really know what I did, what I said, where

  415. I went, who I hit, why I hit him. I just know

  416. three minutes later, I woke up in victory. I

  417. don't know, but it went down, right? But as soon

  418. as they said my mama, it just triggered something

  419. in me. But no, he's wanting to make sure that

  420. we are appropriate. You got to say, hey, believer,

  421. appropriate. Tomorrow, you will be in this world

  422. with people who aren't partakers of your promises.

  423. They will say things that you have to appropriate.

  424. And sometimes, you know what? Well, what is going

  425. on here, Jesus? You know it's okay for you to

  426. tell people you were wrong? Well, you just be

  427. skipping over the simple stuff. I was wrong.

  428. I thought, I assumed, I figured, but as it turns

  429. out, I was wrong. Go ahead, expunge that. Because

  430. I'm back listening again. But yesterday I lost

  431. a little heart. I lost a little courage. I got

  432. a little weary. And I said, I don't know if this

  433. is God. That was a bad statement. That was a

  434. bad statement. It was a lot of pressure. I was

  435. under a lot of things. And I was wrong when I

  436. said, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. Because

  437. some of y 'all suffering because you just won't

  438. say you sorry. just suffering because you just

  439. won't say my bad with an actual conviction. Well,

  440. we got to get through the rest of these 14 verses.

  441. Here we go. The mystery is that the Gentiles

  442. are fellow heirs. Members of the same body and

  443. partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through

  444. the gospel That's the mystery right that we are

  445. co -heirs a part of the same body as those whom

  446. God originally gave his promises to of this gospel

  447. I was made a minister according to the gift of

  448. God's grace Which was given me by working his

  449. power to me through though I am very least of

  450. all the saints this grace was given to preach

  451. to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ

  452. and to bring to light for everyone what is the

  453. plain mystery hidden for all ages in God who

  454. created all things so that through the church,

  455. the manifold wisdom of God might be made known

  456. to the rulers and authorities in heavenly places.

  457. What is Paul saying? He said like, this was all

  458. done so that people could see where wisdom resided.

  459. That that what God was doing is not just about

  460. changing situations, but unseating who thinks

  461. they are actual rulers That that God shifts he

  462. shifted the seed of wisdom He shifted the seed

  463. of wisdom and so God now is using us as representation

  464. of where wisdom now resides You gotta hear what's

  465. happening here, right? That me and you represent

  466. where wisdom resides. Where does the wisdom come

  467. from? Well, it comes from the Spirit of God.

  468. And as we act out things or do things or are

  469. obedient to the things the Spirit of God tells

  470. us, we show this world where wisdom resides.

  471. Like y 'all think y 'all know how but I'm showing

  472. you that there's a spirit that controls all things

  473. you think you control and as I yield to the spirit

  474. within me it shows the world where wisdom truly

  475. resides and so that's why there's times where

  476. I just can't be folding into what y 'all are

  477. saying because I'm being used as an example for

  478. where true wisdom really Resides you think you

  479. know how until you find out that it ain't no

  480. how it's a who you got to know And all of your

  481. hows will one day have to bow down and worship

  482. the who that's living on the inside of me. So

  483. as I live out this Spirit led life, God is systematically

  484. taking systems that people see as this can't

  485. be where you are and who you are at the same

  486. time. And that's what Paul is saying. I know

  487. you see where I am. I'm in prison, but that doesn't

  488. define who I am. I'm full of wisdom. I'm full

  489. of truth. Matter of fact, God has chosen me as

  490. a disciple, as a - minister of grace. I'm in

  491. these chains, but I'm in these chains for Christ.

  492. Can't you see what God is doing? He's using the

  493. things of the world to confound the people of

  494. the world because why is a prisoner so excited

  495. and positive and speaking about who God is and

  496. what God's done? How is he claiming freedom when

  497. he's in our chains? And Paul's like, these are

  498. your chains and I'm not bound by your chains.

  499. I'm bound by the God who says that I am free.

  500. Indeed, and his words will always trump your

  501. reality. I do not live from a physical perspective.

  502. I'm in a prison, literally, but spiritually I'm

  503. seated next to Christ Jesus. And so even though

  504. I'm in a situation where I should be suffering

  505. and downtrodden, I'm still hearing from heaven

  506. for the benefit of God's people. Woo! Can you

  507. see what God is doing? And he's saying, that's

  508. me and you. Do not allow your present Circumstances

  509. to dictate your worth in the kingdom that God

  510. will use the wisdom step by step I know your

  511. situation says that you don't know how to manage

  512. money But there's a power living on the inside

  513. of you that can walk you through how to manage

  514. money wisely and safely and securely and Strategically

  515. and swayed day by day as you yield to that spirit.

  516. Then what was confound them? They're gonna figure

  517. out. How did you get? From there to here, it's

  518. not a how, it's a who. Woo! It's a who, it's

  519. a who. This was according to the eternal purpose

  520. that was realized in Christ Jesus, our Lord,

  521. and whom we have boldness and access and confidence

  522. through our faith in him. So I ask you not to

  523. lose heart over what I am suffering for you,

  524. which is your glory. Paul's saying all of this

  525. because he's like, they're trying. To get you

  526. To unseat this revelation because of where I'm

  527. have to speak it from But this isn't suffering

  528. The same way they see suffering they see printed

  529. prison as bondage. I see prison as consecration

  530. They see president as isolation I see it as separation

  531. so I can hear from Him. They see this as it's

  532. slowing me down, but this actually is giving

  533. me a moment to write down everything God is saying.

  534. They see this as stopping the mission, but now

  535. from this place I can send out letters that spread

  536. the gospel. Whoo! Whoo! See how Paul's taking?

  537. He's taking what the world had defined as suffering.

  538. And he's seeing it, and what God can do with

  539. it, and what God's doing with it, and the glory

  540. that will come from it. I'm seeing if this is

  541. hitting y 'all. Because many of y 'all, okay,

  542. keep going. He says, For this reason, I bow my

  543. knees before the Father from whom every family

  544. in heaven and on earth is named. Oh man, that

  545. according to the riches of his glory, he may

  546. grant you to be strengthened with power through

  547. his spirit in your inner being so that Christ

  548. may dwell in your hearts. through faith that

  549. you being rooted and grounded in love may have

  550. strength to comprehend with all the saints what

  551. is the breath and the length and the height and

  552. the depth and to know the love of Christ that

  553. surpasses all knowledge that you may be filled

  554. with the all fullness of God. So what? So what?

  555. So Paul says, listen, listen, listen, all of

  556. this. This is seen as suffering, but the suffering's

  557. being used so that people won't come to or adhere

  558. to the revelation that I hold. And so it's almost

  559. like God put a beautiful thing in an unbeautiful

  560. package. And so the package is a distractions

  561. to those who aren't led by the Spirit But to

  562. those who are governed by the Spirit They know

  563. that God often puts beautiful things and packages

  564. that aren't appealing to this world It isn't

  565. the package that we look at it's the heart that

  566. we look at that's what happened with David Right

  567. that that he's a man at the God's own heart that

  568. he looked past the stature and he said no No,

  569. there's another one. There's another one your

  570. sons and they all look like warriors, but there's

  571. another one who has the heart for the job. And

  572. so we're always in the system of having to realize

  573. that God puts great treasures in fragile clay

  574. vessels. That God is always putting this this

  575. unknown thing to the world in these vessels that

  576. shouldn't even be carrying the greatness of what

  577. they're saying. This is God's way. It's how he

  578. confounds the wisdom of the world. And so Paul

  579. is praying that they don't lose heart in the

  580. revelation of who they are because of where it's

  581. coming, where it's being said is coming from.

  582. Because a lot of times we only take courage and

  583. things that look powerful If we're being honest

  584. our possessions often are the foundation to which

  585. we get courage from My days tell this joking

  586. it's actually true That the happiest day of the

  587. week is payday. You got to ask yourself why I'm

  588. only happy on payday Well because There's still

  589. parts of you that the Spirit of God is working

  590. on He says now what to him Who is able to do

  591. far more abundantly than all that we can ask

  592. or think according to the power at work within

  593. us to him be the glory in the church and in Christ

  594. Jesus throughout all generations forever and

  595. amen. So what is Paul saying? Don't lose hope.

  596. heart, you have a God who's able to do infinitely

  597. more than you could think, ask, or imagine. I

  598. understand you see the suffering, but have you

  599. considered the source of all things? His ability

  600. to do far even above what you have the capacity

  601. to even present That the God Who's full of mercy

  602. and Grace and truth all spiritual blessings Stigs

  603. over something that my mom you see all the time

  604. saying Brian Sometimes we just have to realize

  605. God is not mismanaging our lives. Get in moments

  606. where it's just like you feel like everything

  607. is everywhere and in that moment you have to

  608. realize you're not the manager of you and God

  609. is not mismanaging your life. I'm gonna say these

  610. things and But what we say this pastor Brian

  611. because suffering has a way of challenging our

  612. faith Because we believe that suffering is a

  613. sign of separation from God But here's the truth

  614. truth this is promises don't disappear because

  615. our circumstances become painful Just because

  616. it's become painful doesn't mean his promises

  617. has disappeared So don't lose heart I Love this

  618. Because here Paul is in prison writing to them

  619. and Obviously Paul's matured at this point and

  620. so he's not asking them for sympathy. He's not

  621. asking them for compassion He's actually praying

  622. that they don't lose heart What He's the one

  623. in chains But he's a man in chains with check

  624. this out revelation It's amazing what revelation

  625. will do to your suffering It's amazing what revelation,

  626. how revelation will heal your heart when suffering

  627. tries to hurt it. What we are witnessing here

  628. is the healing power of revelation in any season

  629. of suffering we see. Pastor Brad, how do I not

  630. lose heart? You have to let God reveal what's

  631. happening to you. See, I can tell you that you

  632. are co -heir. I can tell you that you're a part

  633. of this holy temple God is building. I can tell

  634. you that you are a partaker in God's precious

  635. promises. But if I'm being honest, that's like

  636. shopping your Christianity off the rack. And

  637. some of us are in a tailor -made season. You

  638. can't pick up the revelation you need off the

  639. rack. You got to know when No, I'm still losing

  640. heart even knowing who I am Because there's a

  641. big difference between knowing you were a partaker

  642. and knowing your part There's a big difference

  643. when knowing his promises and knowing the ones

  644. that are active for you today And I came here

  645. just to encourage some of you to take your Christianity

  646. and get it tailor -made to you well who's the

  647. tailor pastor Brian the spirit of God the spirit

  648. of God will take that partaker label and show

  649. you your part that you're partaking in. That

  650. revelation is what heals a heart in a suffering

  651. season. That's all Paul can say. Everyone else

  652. in here is in chains, but I have revelation.

  653. I'm in these chains for Christ. I'm in these

  654. chains because of what my assignment is. I'm

  655. in these chains because Satan wants to discredit

  656. the messenger due to the posture, discredit the

  657. message due to the posture of the messenger.

  658. Satan's trying to discredit my mission by trying

  659. to keep what people can't see in a container

  660. that they wouldn't readily accept. So I don't

  661. see the prison walls as confinement. I actually

  662. pray that people don't see these prison walls

  663. as who I am. I'm trying to help some of y 'all.

  664. I'm trying to help some of y 'all. Because you're

  665. trying to figure out why all hell is broken loose

  666. and it's because of what God is doing with you.

  667. Paul's prayer wasn't that the hell stop was that

  668. the hell didn't stop them from seeing Paul Come

  669. on now y 'all Paul's prayer wasn't that the trouble

  670. go away He knew why the trouble was there. It

  671. was to keep people from seeing who he was So

  672. he prayed that they wouldn't let the trouble

  673. stop them from seeing who he was The trouble

  674. wasn't there for Paul. The trouble was there

  675. to keep people from seeing what God was doing

  676. through Paul. Y 'all missing the whole thing.

  677. Y 'all missing the whole thing. This should flip

  678. your whole prayer life upside down. This should

  679. flip everything about how you see tomorrow upside

  680. down. You've been complaining about where you

  681. live. You should be praying that where you live

  682. won't stop people from seeing what God is doing

  683. in your life. You keep trying to change this

  684. house. In this world, you will suffer persecution.

  685. Maybe you got a bad interest rate. Maybe you

  686. bought it at the wrong time. Maybe you was supposed

  687. to sell it, but you're still in it. I don't know

  688. what you did, but I know who he is So no matter

  689. what I have done that may be a may be a problem

  690. for people to see who I am I pray That they still

  691. see God Why I could throw this microphone Y 'all

  692. understand how hard I'm gripping it right now.

  693. I pray that they can still see God I pray, you

  694. know, you know, I pray I listen listen. Oh Y

  695. 'all see this is me at home This is me at home

  696. when I be thinking about some of the things I

  697. did that didn't turn out the way it was supposed

  698. to and I just Prayed that they can still see

  699. God I'm not worried about problems, I'm not worried

  700. about trouble. When I have a God that can do

  701. exceedingly, abundantly, above all I can think,

  702. ask or imagine, my prayer is that I don't lose

  703. heart because of what I did. I pray that my ministry

  704. still moves forward. I pray that his glory can

  705. still be seen. I know it hurt, but my prayer

  706. is that God's glory still. I know you messed

  707. it up. I pray that his glory is still seen. I

  708. pray that nothing becomes a stumbling block to

  709. who God has called you to be. I pray that your

  710. ignorance doesn't become a stumbling block who

  711. God's called you to be. I pray to all them dumb

  712. decisions, all of them, all of them, all of them,

  713. God uses as a way to show forth his manifold

  714. wisdom that this world doesn't have participation

  715. in. I pray that God uses your situation to show

  716. the world that what they think disqualifies,

  717. oh baby, it don't even begin to hold a candle

  718. to what God can do. God will take the disqualified

  719. and use them to bring glory. God will take the

  720. unqualified and use them to bring forth glory.

  721. God will take my bad credit and get me a new

  722. house. Kiss the glory So his ask is that they

  723. remain Faithful that they allow Christ to dwell

  724. in their hearts. Look at this verse 17. I need

  725. you to see this We don't close out. We don't

  726. do it Because he uses a word for the dwelling

  727. of Christ, what is the word? that Christ dwells

  728. in your hearts through what church? What is faith?

  729. The substance of things hope for the evidence

  730. of things not seen. So I'm literally being instructed

  731. to unseat what I do see with something I can't

  732. see. If Christ is dwelling through faith, that

  733. means that Christ is not dwelling in what is

  734. seen. Christ is dwelling in what is unseen. But

  735. my heart is always fractured by what is seen.

  736. So Paul is saying that you must unseat what is

  737. seen by what is unseen. So y 'all might say,

  738. what is unseen? Go to the tailor. Find out That

  739. Taylor had us a ways of pulling out the curves

  740. If you don't know Taylor's could take almost

  741. 10 pounds off your body by how deep When you

  742. buy it off the rack it may be too big it may

  743. be too small and may do some things but if you

  744. go to the Taylor it just it Situates what was

  745. once a problem Y 'all work with me But when you

  746. go to the tailor your one leg may be longer than

  747. the other leg But that's not a problem at the

  748. tailor because the tailor can make sure the left

  749. leg is a quarter inch longer than the right leg

  750. So that the outfit ain't messed up so that you

  751. don't lose the glory If one arm is longer than

  752. the other arm the tail will make sure the shirt

  753. still looks good on you I know the problem is

  754. the problem, but the Spirit can make it look

  755. good on you. He'll make it look good on you.

  756. He'll make it look good on you. Because the danger

  757. wasn't Paul's prison, the danger was the church

  758. allowing Paul's prison to discourage their faith.

  759. truth is faith opens the door for christ to occupy

  760. your heart even when circumstances even when

  761. suffering occupies your circumstances i'm gonna

  762. go ahead get to the end y 'all know i love to

  763. just give you something that can maybe help you

  764. just pause in a moment and so i'm gonna give

  765. you this acronym It's an S, an E, and a C. Second.

  766. Like we be saying, give me a second. Just give

  767. me a second. Like give me a second. Like this

  768. just hit me, but just give me a second. Just

  769. give me a second. While I allow the Spirit of

  770. God to tailor make this to who I am. Just give

  771. me a second. Some hits you it starts to do that

  772. thing y 'all know that thing When we start to

  773. lose heart question doubt wonder concern start

  774. staying random stuff Just before that starts

  775. happening for now when you get that be like,

  776. just give me a sec Just give me a second. Let

  777. me go get Talk to my tailor. I Got a idea go

  778. talk to my tailor. I Don't shop off the rack

  779. no mo Well, I don't even know what a TJ Maxx

  780. is, babe. I don't even... Well, I take my things

  781. to the tail. I take everything to the tailor,

  782. you hear me? Oh, wait. Just in case y 'all wondering,

  783. that's not... I'm not talking about... That's

  784. not me. That guy's from Zara. It's right there

  785. on the rack. At the mall. We talking spiritual.

  786. Spiritually, we don't... Boy some y 'all about

  787. to bust the whole pastor said No, he did are

  788. we talking spiritual? Spiritually speaking I

  789. don't shop at the rack In the natural I'd be

  790. looking for the sale rat I Start there cuz if

  791. there's a bargain with my name on ain't no point

  792. of me paying full price Give me a second, right?

  793. First one, shift your perspective. What are you

  794. saying? No more suffering, no more burdens, just

  795. bridges. Because every season of suffering is

  796. just the introduction of a season of glory. I

  797. don't have burdens, I have bridges. This thing

  798. that's hit me to take me across to his glory

  799. I Don't burdens that bridges That's perspective

  800. it's the same way Paul saying these chains for

  801. Christ you you have to look at whatever it is

  802. Say no, it's not a burden it's a bridge bridge

  803. to what his glory Here we go this one's big Two,

  804. end desperate decision -making. You have the

  805. Spirit of God living on the inside of you. The

  806. Spirit of God is precise. The Bible says the

  807. Word of God is sharper than a two -edged sword.

  808. So what does that mean for me? I don't make desperate

  809. decision if desperation shows up in the room.

  810. No decisions will be made today Give me a second

  811. because now you mess with my heart Now you mess

  812. with my heart you trying to get my emotions to

  813. do what the Spirit of God is telling me should

  814. not be done You're trying to get me to yield

  815. to something that I cannot be led by. I can feel

  816. desperation rising. Let me just holler at you.

  817. Give me a second. Give me a second. No. Hey,

  818. neighbor. End. desperate decision making We are

  819. not moved by pressure we are moved by presence

  820. and It's hard for me to fill his presence with

  821. all this pressure So you have to give me a second

  822. but all this calm down It's gonna fall apart

  823. see there you go. It's more that desperation

  824. talk Maybe it's supposed to fall down. I got

  825. to give you I need a second To find out am I

  826. saving what God wants to die? Give me a second

  827. just give me a second And number three, commit

  828. to concentration. Believer, we cannot be afraid

  829. of seasons of isolation. You cannot be afraid

  830. to be alone. A lot of people make fun of me because

  831. I love to drive. I love to just hop in the truck

  832. and just ride. Because at some point, it's like...

  833. problems... just start to lose their value. All

  834. you hear is like... the road underneath you.

  835. Rashida always laughs at me, because I don't

  836. even turn on music. I put down the window and

  837. just let the wind come through. I just ride.

  838. Hours. I know my brother Greg talked about...

  839. Driving for hours in the price of gas He worried

  840. about the wrong things And And that stillness

  841. God begins to speak and I like it because if

  842. it takes six hours to drive to Atlanta Although

  843. I could fly If I fly I'll try to occupy the time

  844. I have once I land But I it's like you get on

  845. that road I got six hours No, I don't turn on

  846. my YouTube and no I don't turn on Music and no,

  847. I definitely don't get the scrolling I just set

  848. an expectation and let God know you got me for

  849. hours. When's the last time you gave God some

  850. hours? I'm talking about like some of our lives.

  851. Hear what I'm saying. You are losing heart. You

  852. are on the edge of caving in. I've never seen

  853. a heart surgery that lasted 30 minutes. Don't

  854. do it if they suggest it. When's the last time

  855. you just consecrated yourself, isolated yourself

  856. for hours? I know what I'm saying. I had all

  857. week to think about whether or not I was going

  858. to say for minutes and God kept saying no hours.

  859. You just sat there. I said, God, not by will.

  860. Your will be done. I'm overwhelmed, and I need

  861. focus. They asked me, how long you gonna be gone,

  862. Brian? I don't know. Turned out it took seven

  863. days. Just driving around. Had my nieces with

  864. me, my daughter with me, my wife with me. You

  865. know, spent more money than I planned on, but

  866. that's that. It's all right. Ma 'am. Jesus showed

  867. me some things about me. Saw further I Started

  868. to understand Some of the suffering I was going

  869. through I Know I know we've been screaming new

  870. life, right and But it's out of that grave to

  871. that glory and On some levels, I've had an unbelievable

  872. year. And in some spaces, my world has really

  873. been rocked. And I was like, God, I don't need

  874. you to solve problems. I need to know what you're

  875. doing. and he started showing me what he was

  876. doing. Why am I sharing this with you? Because

  877. I know this isn't a, you know, a testimony of,

  878. I don't know what y 'all want, more money, new

  879. car, I don't know where it is you want, but this

  880. is a testimony of peace. Just found some rest.

  881. Some of y 'all need some rest. Because no amount

  882. of self effort will end or stop suffering God

  883. is using. Can I pray with y 'all today? Father

  884. God, I pray for your people. I pray that your

  885. word reigns supreme in their life. I pray that

  886. they realize that you're an all -knowing father.

  887. I pray that they rest in the truth, that you're

  888. not trying to keep things unknown for their detriment.

  889. but you are truly fathering them, keeping them,

  890. growing them, maturing them to a glory you have

  891. planned for their lives. Father God, I pray that

  892. they understand that you've heard their prayers.

  893. You know the desires that they have. And I pray

  894. that they trust that you haven't forgotten their

  895. prayers, that you haven't forgotten their desires.

  896. I pray that they keep faith in a father who's

  897. working it all together for their good. I pray

  898. that you give them the perspective to remain

  899. rooted and grounded in this season. I pray that

  900. you give them courage and give them compassion

  901. to see what you are doing. I pray that they understand

  902. that you're a loving father and that you Wish

  903. them no hurt harm or danger That you have life

  904. and life more abundantly playing for them I Pray

  905. that every lie Satan has set up in this season

  906. To get them to believe that death is their future

  907. that the end is near that they must panic, that

  908. they must move in desperation. I pray that that

  909. enemy that's trying to stir up things that aren't

  910. even a part of who they are, I pray that those

  911. things are casted out and they experience the

  912. freedom that is found in you, the peace that

  913. is found with you. and that they experience rest.

  914. Amen? Amen. Well, I love you guys. I thank God

  915. for you guys. Did you get anything out of the

  916. word today? I'd say if you're here today and

  917. you're not saved and you haven't made Jesus Christ

  918. your Lord and personal savior, I would love to

  919. give you that invitation now. Listen Jesus They

  920. told me to stop saying this but I'm feeling it

  921. right now. He's a bad mamajam It's the best friend

  922. he sticks closer than a brother If you want to

  923. meet Jesus tell you what Let us know if you're

  924. watching online or meet us in the first room

  925. on the left before you leave if you have questions

  926. about what salvation is, what it means, meet

  927. us in those same places, and we'll tell you more

  928. about who our Savior is. Amen. At this time,

  929. we'll also receive today's offering, and amen.

  930. Here at Reveal the Truth, we believe in cheerful

  931. givers. What does that mean? That means that

  932. our heart is connected to our giving. That means

  933. that we are asking heaven, what would you have

  934. for me to sow? And as a result of what is said

  935. and spoken, we sow. And so we do not believe

  936. in people given grudgingly of necessity that

  937. you should not be forced into your given But

  938. you should be inspired to give um that you should

  939. be hearing from heaven and heaven say hey This

  940. is what it is for you to sow in in obedience

  941. to what heaven speaks. We are cheerfully sowing.

  942. Amen Amen. Well, I'll tell you what um pastor

  943. deborah if you could do a communion for me, I

  944. would love that And so as per our tradition on

  945. the first Sundays, we do communion together.

  946. And so Pastor Deborah is gonna come up and do

  947. communion. And I love you guys. Hey, we did chapter

  948. three today. You know what I'm saying? We did

  949. it. We're gonna do chapter four next week. Let's

  950. go. Has everyone been served? If not, if you'll

  951. please raise your hands. We'll make sure that

  952. you get communion. We have people on this side

  953. as well as this side. You know, we don't do this

  954. as a ritual. What we do concerning God, we want

  955. to do it with full knowledge so we can take advantage

  956. of what God has designed for us as believers.

  957. And one of the things I just want you to know,

  958. if you are a believer, if you are a Christian,

  959. you have the right to take communion. I know

  960. that in times past, people talked about you're

  961. not being worthy. Well, gosh, no one is worthy.

  962. But Jesus Christ made us all worthy because of

  963. God. He gave us his righteousness. So there's

  964. no one again that is a believer, no one who is

  965. a Christian who does not have a right. to take

  966. communion because when Jesus died for our sins,

  967. he died for all our sins. And we have to understand

  968. that as believers, we do miss the mark sometimes,

  969. but that's a behavior that does not determine

  970. who we are. God has already determined that we

  971. are children of the Most High God when we get

  972. born again. And that position never changes.

  973. regardless of our behavior. As Pastor Brian said

  974. a couple of weeks ago, you don't get unsaved.

  975. The Bible says that when we got born again, that

  976. we were sealed by the Holy Spirit. There's nothing

  977. we can do to take that sealing away. So again,

  978. I'm encouraging you if you're one of those people

  979. who heard, man, I did something wrong yesterday.

  980. Last week, just a few minutes ago, I had a bad

  981. thought that I cannot take communion. That is

  982. not true. That is not true. Amen So Jesus encouraged

  983. his disciples and for us that to remember some

  984. things To remember what you came into remember

  985. what Jesus Christ has done for us that positioned

  986. us to have Have presence with God all the time

  987. how he paved the way for us that there's nothing

  988. between us and God. So Jesus Christ, he died

  989. on the cross. That's what he came for. I just

  990. remember the scripture where he says, God, not

  991. my will, but your will be done. I want to complete

  992. my assignment, although I know what is going

  993. to happen. I know the suffering that's going

  994. to take place. But the Bible says Jesus said

  995. for the joy that he saw before him, he took all

  996. the shame. He took all of the bruises. He took

  997. all of that just so that we can stand in the

  998. position we are now. So he tells us to remember

  999. what he did with his body. So this represents

1000. his body. He says, you know, remember, remember

1001. all that I did. Amen. So we do this in remembrance

1002. of him. You may eat of it now. And God said that

1003. there is no remission of sin, no forgiveness

1004. of sin. unless there's bloodshed. Thank God that

1005. Jesus Christ was the only one who was able to

1006. give of his body to shed blood for our forgiveness

1007. of sin. So when we take the wine, it represents

1008. the blood of Jesus and all the blood of Jesus

1009. did for us. It's for our forgiveness of sin.

1010. And in that forgiveness of sin, it put us in

1011. a position where we have a right to all the promises

1012. of God. Somebody say amen. All the promises,

1013. we talk about those as a part of what our scripture

1014. is about, that God came to give us an abundance

1015. of peace, prosperity, security, stability, health,

1016. healing, and truth. So because of what Jesus

1017. Christ did forgiveness of sin came and therefore

1018. we can partake of all the promises of God So

1019. just remember that and he says to drink it in

1020. remembrance of me Hey man, hey man, so if you'll

1021. please stand to your feet We're going to be dismissed

1022. if you would repeat after me now unto him that

1023. is able to keep me from falling, and to resent

1024. me, faultless, before the presence of His glory,

1025. with exceeding joy. To the only wise God, our

1026. Savior, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power,

1027. both now and ever. Amen. Enjoy the rest of your

  1028. day.
