Running the name of Jesus. And thank you Dan for those preliminary thoughts on
-
the message this morning, because we want to stay right in around this cardinal
-
truth of the resurrection this morning and this thing about Jonah and God. There's
-
another message that's burning in my heart, and I'm not going to preach it
-
here, preparing it to preach it to the home congregations. I had a
-
wedding, and in our weddings we use the term the God of Abraham,
-
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And a man mocked
-
me for that. He wanted to know why we use such terms as that.
-
Well, I want to preach on that message, because see, there
-
are many gods, and when the Bible uses the God of Abraham, the
-
God of Isaac, and the God Jacob, it's this what. It's the
-
God of the Hebrews, the God of Junnah, it's the God of Jesus.
-
Among the many, it's this one. It's a dentification. And marriage
-
still hangs on that same God. I don't know if you do that or
-
not to use that term, brother Leland, when you marry somebody, because
-
marriage still hangs on that God, not on these other ones. Well,
-
that's not our subject. Let's stand together one more time and sing our theme
-
song together, number seventy seven, And let's just sing all these verses here
-
this morning, that we would stand and be amazed. We're talking about truth
-
this morning, and I was impressed that we can't know all the truth.
-
And there's a lot of things about Jesus Christ and salvation. We just cannot
-
know all of those, And so we stand amazed. And that he would
-
be a man and pray in the garden verse two, and that angels would
-
come and minister to him and comfort him, and that he took our sins
-
in our sires. The doctrine of satisfaction attonement a very wonderful doctrine. And
-
then in glory. I am of the belief that we will never understand everything
-
about God, even in glory, because if we were, we were to
-
become God, and He will continue to show us who he is. I
-
don't understand that. This morning, Let's sing this song. I stand me
-
in the past, Sorgesus the naso, and wander how he could love me
-
sin condemnly, Oh Marvean, so how wonderful? And my song shallver Oh
-
Marvin so wonderful, with is my save yourselve to me for me? It
-
was in the god he prayed, not my will, but the he had
-
NOI for his old f sweat drops of blood form Oh Marvin, so wonderful,
-
and my song shall overby, Oh loud Marveler, so wonderful. There's
-
my say frfve for me in pety and yells. Bed Man came from the
-
world of love to call for in the song see boy for my soul lad
-
not oh marble so and my song shallverb, Oh Lou Marveler, so wonderful.
-
He is my save your love for army. He took my sines,
-
and my song he made them is yo. He bore the harboren of car
-
for rea sofered, and Lord, oh Marvella, so wonderful, and my
-
song shall havever be, Oh marble, so wonderful is my sn yours love
-
for me? When with the ransoming glow his face side Lafe shall see twill
-
be my joy through the end to say of his love for me, Oh
-
how marvelous, and my sob shall iver be so he's my sad your love
-
formy God, bless you may be seeded mhm in nineteen eighty six, when
-
I was ordained, an older man of great faith and wisdom told me,
-
gave me a little bit of advice. He told me that I should that
-
I should decide now to never preach a boring message. And I've not always
-
been able to do that because I'm a man. But it was a good
-
advice anyway, because people don't always respond very well to boring doctrinal preaching.
-
And today I am going to preach doctrine, and I, according to my
-
notes, I have not preached this doctrine twenty fourteen, and I can hardly
-
believe it because it's such an exciting doctrine for this morning that I pray it
-
will not be boring to you. I want to speak, and this is
-
not Christmas, but it might be. I want to speak this morning on
-
the doctrine of the incarnation and I want to remind you, and I want
-
you to open your Bible. It's the first John, chapter four, because
-
this is true. This is true in many ways. It's true because it's
-
true and the Bible says it's true, and John points it out. But
-
it's also true if you watch around and move around in life and analyze false
-
doctrine. One of the marks of false doctrine is that false doctrine will always
-
make Jesus our God. That is that the truth that Diventa became flesh,
-
it will always make Jesus a scandal. It always denies that Jesus, that
-
a God, a divine spirit, God, could become flesh and blood.
-
And that's what it reads. Here. Here you can know the spirit of
-
God. In verse two of chapter four of First John. Here you can
-
know the spirit of God. Every spirit or religion or faith or doctrine that
-
confesses that Jesus is come in the flesh is of God. But every spirit
-
or every doctrine or every religion that confesses not that Jesus Christ has come in
-
the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of Antichrist.
-
It's already going around in the world. So you know, there be some
-
some classical ones like Islam who at that there was a Jesus but he was
-
only a prophet, or the Mormons who believed that Jesus was created and that
-
we also become the sons of God and all of these things. They would
-
be two classical doctrines. Classic illustrations of doctrines but I give this for you
-
to think about, because the Bible does that every false religion has one thread
-
in it definitive, and that is it will deny that Jesus, that God
-
Divine, became flesh and blood and dwelt among men. That's what this verse
-
is saying. And so that is our thought this morning. And the message
-
has four titles. I'm going to write them up here on the board.
-
And so we have these four questions. Is Jesus still a man? Is
-
Jesus still a man? Is Jesus still a man? Is Jesus still a
-
man? You want to answer that question? Well, that's our Bible study
-
this morning. Uh. The answer yes, And that's a really exciting doctrine.
-
But it's a heavy one. It's so heavy that it could cause some
-
controversy in your heart because Christ is always controversial to law and death. The
-
law of sin and death is always in conflict with the law of love and
-
life, and the Kingdom of Heaven established in the regions of Satan is always
-
going to bring controversy against the flesh. And if you're here and you're not
-
saved yet, then this message will indeed be contravergency with your heart, But
-
if you are saved, it will establish your heart and make you want to
-
go on. And so I'm preaching this message to convince you that Heaven and
-
Jesus are real. Good men, and Knight would voice it, But too
-
many of us do not really want to go to Heaven because we believe somehow
-
that in our humanity it is a mystical place of endless singing and eternal church
-
service. And of course it will be, but in some way that there's
-
no way for us now to imagine it, and I'm fine with that.
-
But in whatever way, I am convinced by the scriptures that it will be
-
real, real, because we don't really understand real, real, and there's
-
no way that we can yet, and that's faith. But I am convinced
-
in my heart that it will not be a cloud of mystical glob of something.
-
It will be real, real, Just like brother Leland would stand in
-
this pulpit some morning and preach the doctne of Hell to be real. So
-
I believe that haaven't will be real. And I think he would because his
-
brother did it. So I think that maybe the two brothers might believe that
-
Hell is real. Brother Steve his brother came down to church, one of
-
our churches in Georgia one time a couple of years ago, and the very
-
first night of Revival meetings, he preached a tremendous message on the literal hell,
-
and someone was for like wow, but he did. So I know
-
that I think that Leland believes probably and we probably stand right here in this
-
pope and preach that that hell is real. And so this morning I'm preaching
-
that Heaven is real. So I want to see what the Bible says about
-
these four questions up here on the board, and I want you to be
-
thinking about what does the Bible teach them this matter. Is Jesus a man
-
now or did Jesus go back into heaven in Acts chapter one and become the
-
Son of God in the same form that he was before the incarnation? Is
-
Jesus his spirit now or is he a man? What do you believe about
-
this? And I'm going to convince you with answers on this question from the
-
Bible, not just to prove it so, but rather so that our hope
-
gets more hope. You know, hopelessness in life is a serious thing.
-
If you've ever encountered it, yourself, or if you have met someone and
-
wrestled with someone who lost hope, you know what I mean by that.
-
Emotionally or physically. There are people who just lose hope, and I have
-
been told that for someone to somehow get a hold of that. Losing hope
-
is the feeling that you get between the time that you know that you lost
-
control and you're going to hit the power pole until you do, and people
-
who lose hope live right there. I don't know if you've ever hit a
-
power pole, but it's that moment between reality of catastrophe and the catastrophe,
-
and people who lose hope live right there, and hopelessness is is a is.
-
Brothers, we don't want to lose hope, and some of us have
-
stronger minds than I do, so it's easy for me to lose hopes.
-
If you hear that thread of trying to reassure, be reassured by the scriptures
-
through these meetings, that's something that comes out. I accept that we need
-
hope, and this is why that we pray in the name of Jesus,
-
because he is the only mediator between God and us. It's not something,
-
young man, that you tackle on the end and say in the name of
-
the Lord or something like that. Your prayers and my prayers cannot be heard
-
unless we pray in the name of Jesus, and you can ask it in
-
the very first words. You can say, in the name of Jesus,
-
I pray, and then when you are finished, you can just say amen,
-
or it means let it be this way. You don't have to pray,
-
and make sure that you get in the name of Jesus on the end
-
of it, and pray in the name of Jesus anytime. But if the
-
prayer is not in the name of Jesus, our advocate who sits today at
-
the right hand of the Father interceding for us. If you don't pray in
-
the name of Jesus, your prayer just goes that high and goes down,
-
and it's worthless. Praying in the name of Jesus is the only way that
-
we can get to this God of heaven, who is the God of Abraham,
-
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. In the name
-
of Jesus, we pray because he is the mediator, the advocate, the
-
lawyer that stands between holiness and sinfulness. So I have two intentionness teaching to
-
outline two foundations, and then look at some biblical teaching on these questions.
-
Here they're all for the same, but they're all four very different and they
-
all have the same answer. Turn your bibles to Hebrews. We'll just look
-
at the first point here, the humanity of Jesus nature presently or what is
-
Jesus? Who is Jesus right now? Is I submit to you imperative to
-
Christian faith? In Hebrews, Chapter six, the Bible teaches and declares the
-
position of Jesus presently Chapter six, verse twenty. Whether the forerunner is for
-
us entered, even Jesus made and high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek,
-
that is, Jesus is in heaven our high priest after the order of
-
or like as or as Melchisedec. Chapter three, verse one of Hebrews.
-
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and
-
high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to him that
-
appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house and so on
-
four verse fourteen. Seeing then that we have a high priest that has passed
-
into heavens Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Let us hold fast our
-
profession, for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the
-
feeling of our firmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are,
-
yet without sin. And so therefore let us come boldly on to his
-
throne, so that we can find mercy and find grace to help in time
-
of need. Chapter five, verse six. Let's start a refreshed So also
-
Christ glorified, not himself to be made in high priest, but he that
-
said unto him, that is David, thou art my son. Today have
-
I begotten thee as he saith? Also in another place, thou art a
-
priest forever after the order of Melchisdek. So there we have again a clue
-
here that Jesus was a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Chapter seven,
-
verse seventeen. Again he that testifieth, this is from Psalm one hundred
-
and four. Never forget that David was a prophet. Jesus said so he
-
for he testified that David testified prophet. David testified that thou that Jesus art
-
a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec Chapter eight, verse one. Now,
-
of the things which we have spoken, this is the total. We
-
have such a high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne
-
of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister of the sanctuary and of the
-
true tabernacle, which the Lord pits, not men. And so he says,
-
this man Jesus, who is after the order of or like Melchisedec is.
-
We have him now presently this morning, March April one, sitting at
-
the right hand. Can we just we can't imagine this, try to that
-
Jesus Christ is sitting on the right side of God in heaven in his throne.
-
Chapter nine, verse twenty four. For Christ is not entered into the
-
holy place made with hands, which are the figure of the Jew, but
-
into Heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God for us. So
-
the same thing going on here that the apostle Paul, if it was Paul
-
or Hebrews, is arguing that Jesus is after or like as or as Melchizedek,
-
and he is entered into heaven, and he sits there on the right
-
hand of the Father making intercession for us, and we pray to him.
-
We pray to God, and we get to God in the name of Jesus.
-
That's what a priest does. He mediates, he advocates. You're a
-
lawyer. So let's take us just a little bit further. For Jesus to
-
be a priest after the order of or as like or in the same way
-
as that, he must be a man. Because machi Is a deck,
-
was not a spirit. Mal Chisa duck was a man who met Maleses coming
-
our pardoner, the Abraham. He met Abraham as he come back there in
-
his victory over the four gentile kings there in the Vale of Sdom. And
-
the Bible tells us we know this. We don't have time to get all
-
these scriptures to prove this, but you can, you can. You can
-
talk about this while you're eating sandwiches. Uh, Abraham met a man coming
-
back there right, a priest, king of Salem, king of Jerusalem.
-
So my first, my first submission to us on the subject is that the
-
Bible teaches us that Jesus is a priest after the order of marchesa duck,
-
and Machisadec was not a spirit. Was a man number two, Chapter seven,
-
verse twenty five of Hebrews. Wherefore this twenty four. But this man,
-
because he continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Whereas Melchizedek we're getting
-
into some things here that's gonna yeah, that we don't always understand. But
-
this man, the argument is, this man, because he continues ever,
-
has an unchangeable priesthood. And because he has an unchangeable priesthood, therefore or
-
wherefore, he is able to save Jason Shruck. He is able to save
-
Dan Weaver. He is able to save put your name in here. He
-
is able to save to the uttermost, not just partly, any that come
-
under God by him, seeing that he is making intercession for him. For
-
such and high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undifouled,
-
separate from sinners, and made higher than the habits, who doesn't have to
-
offer his own. But we come to God through this priest, that is
-
after the order of Melchisedect. So the second point that I'm submitting here on
-
these questions is this priest, this Jesus lives to save any one of those
-
who will draw near to him and make intercession. He will make intercession for
-
them to God. Those that believe he is and are saved by him and
-
receive his provision have access to God through him. So we just add this,
-
a spirit could not be a priest after the Order of Melchisedec, for
-
Matchisidec was a man, not a spirit. And so today we're just kind
-
of rushing ahead here. Jesus is a man in heaven in a glorified human
-
body, and don't cast me out here yet, please. He is a
-
man in a glorified body, human body. If he were a spirit,
-
he could not be a high priest interceding for us in heaven. For your
-
sins and my sins could not be forgiven. So denying that Jesus as a
-
man just given these two submissions so far, would denying Jesus as a priest
-
interceding in our behalf for us in heaven. So with those introductory kind of
-
thoughts which you probably might be saying in your mind are too weak yet to
-
confirm this doctrine, let's go forward. The only two that we laid down
-
yet is that he's in order after Matchesadkut, which was a man, and
-
he sits as that priest in heaven on the right hand of the Father to
-
intercede any who will come to him. Those are the two. And you
-
may say this or two. We get to confirm this, doctor, Well,
-
let's go on. Let's back all the way up. Turn with me
-
to John chapter ten. The first point that I'm submitting here on this is
-
the Bible is clear that Jesus has always existed as the tri son of God.
-
And here's another doctrine see in John chapter four. False religions will never
-
Jesus is always a scandal whin a false religion that God could not become a
-
man and live as a man the Trinity. And we know that words not
-
in the Bible. But in John chapter ten, verse thirty. Someone read
-
this for me, one of your young Fello says, they read this verse
-
for me. This young man is sitting right. When the front man read
-
it loud enough, everyone can hear. What does it say in John ten
-
thirty I and my father are one. Well, now that was part of
-
a bigger argument, right in the context, I was a part of a
-
bigger argument. So we're just kind of pulling that out there to make this
-
submission or point for us to consider that the Bible is clear. This is
-
just one we're using that God and Father have always been. And it's easier
-
for me, and I think pray for you to somehow get a hold of
-
some truth that Jesus will always exist. But it's it's impossible for the human
-
mind to get a hold of the truth that he never started. That's because
-
we had a beginning, right, I think that's what it is. So
-
as slippery as that hand to whist, and I can't get a hold of
-
him living forever. It's even it's even hard yet to believe that he never
-
even started, for lack of better words, But the Bible is clear.
-
And this is a difference between faith and logic, because if I understand it,
-
then it's no more faith. It's only faith if I just believe without
-
being able to prove it. Okay, So Jesus was always existed as the
-
trying son of God, even before the foundations of the world. Peter says,
-
Jesus and God. I can't understand this, But Jesus and God had
-
this conversation and they knew that brother Caught was going to need salvation, and
-
Jesus said, I'll do it for him. And we see this incautions Paul
-
speaks in chapter one, sixteen seventeen. He speaks there about Jesus being the
-
creator of all things. And in Genesis chapter one we see this picture that
-
the Spirit moved, and we have the biblical injunction for marriage there. That
-
marriage must be sanctioned and witnessed by God, the Son, God, God
-
himself, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, or it's not
-
a marriage. And I think we will all agree on that, so we
-
won't use a lot more time on that point. But this marriage thing,
-
that God the Son, God to Father, God the Son, and God
-
the Holy works. We're all there in that marriage union between Adam and Eve.
-
It's a deep seated, necessary, essential aspect of marriage, and it's
-
incredible and mysterious to man, but also in eternal that finally later on there
-
was incarnation. We're putting a lot of things together. The point here being
-
that I understand and believed that it is evident that before the incarnation or God
-
becoming flesh, Jesus was a spirit man, not a flesh man. Before
-
incarnation, he was a divine spirit being eternal God, but he was not
-
yet divine flesh man at the creation. It is my understanding and belief that
-
Jesus was not human flesh, and yet he was divine and of the Trinity.
-
He was divine at that juncture, but not human. And we know
-
on the scriptures that a few times Jesus personified himself and presented himself in what
-
I would term or use as pre incarnate body. I believe, and I
-
submitted to you again. You can speak about this of your sandwiches. But
-
in the Creation it says that God got breaked down there on the earth and
-
he yumped down there, and I think it was Jesus pre incarnate, and
-
he put his hands together there, and all the others he just did by
-
his word. But there he took dust and put it together and made out
-
of Jesus did. And when Adam got awake or was, and then he
-
breathed into his no soul suppressive lays, and he saw what he saw laying
-
there and told me in that Adam looked up, he saw Jesus pre incarnate.
-
This is my belief. And I think that Jesus saw the man that
-
he made and he loved it. I don't know if you want this one,
-
but I think he saw Dan. I think he saw his own image,
-
and I think he was married. But I'm not trying to produce controversy,
-
but it is a doctrine off which I believe about facial air. But
-
anyway, we know that. And then we had this time where I don't
-
know who much of the deck was. I really don't know. He may
-
have been Jesus pre incarnate. But then we have those three men that came
-
to Adam Abraham's area, you know, and they didn't look like women,
-
they look like men, and we believe, I think we do altogether that
-
one of them was the Lord, because that's what the scriptures said. And
-
then we have all these times through the Bible where the King James will say
-
the Angel of the Lord came. And this is my understanding that where it
-
defines, sometimes it says angel of the Lord, and I believe it may
-
have been one of God's messenger angels. But other times, such as I
-
believe I'm correcting this one on Manah, these men would want to worship this
-
Angel of the Lord, and the Angel will say no, no, no.
-
But in the one in Manah and the one in Joshua outside the city
-
of Jericho, he said he was a Captain of the Host of the Lord,
-
of the armies of the Lord, both of those times at least,
-
and there are a few other ones. This is the way I designated,
-
and I'm submitting to you for your for your for your discussion, because I
-
could be wrong. The brothers told me here this morning that this man,
-
who he presented himself as the Angel Lord, accepted worship. See, so
-
I must conclude from that that when this Angel of the Lord accepted worship,
-
it must have been God, because an angel would not accept worship. And
-
there are flu times where the Bible King James is the Angel of the Lord,
-
but they refused worship. I'm saying all this to submit to us.
-
That is my belief and understanding in my hope, that Jesus was a spirit
-
before incarnation, but he sometimes presented himself. He had this divinity to present
-
himself as a man, and it seems in the scriptures that he did so.
-
And this is a great mystery, and I cannot tell prescily that I
-
have all of this truth. But the point that I'm submitting to us,
-
as I understand the scriptures that Jesus before Christmas, Oh, I hate that
-
he wasn't born in Christmas twenty five, anywhere in Christmas December twenty five.
-
He was born in the spring. Did you know that the twenty five day
-
of December, that's Zea's birthday, But so is Sunday, And I recognize
-
that. So that's another whole doctor. But the point I'm making is that
-
I believe that something very very, very very significant happened at incarnation, and
-
I believe it was a principal thing of God, that Divinity became flesh and
-
blood, and Christmas whenever you celebrated, you could do it today, except
-
we have Easter. It's a inexplainable, incredible something to save humanity. It
-
reads in Hebrews two, verse fourteen to seventeen, which is my fourth point.
-
Jesus took on the nature of man in incarnation. It reads like this,
-
forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he that
-
is Jesus, also himself likewise took part of the same that through death,
-
she divinity can't die. That through death he might destroy him that had the
-
power of death, that is the devil, that is the devil, and
-
deliver them us who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondies.
-
For verily, he, that is, Jesus, took not on him
-
the nature of angels, but took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore
-
were therefore in all things it behooved him to be made like his brother.
-
Jesus was made like a man. He was a man to make reconciliation for
-
the sins of the people. For in that he himself has suffered being tempted,
-
he is able to succor them that are tempted. He did not take
-
on the nature of angels, but he took on the nature of flesh and
-
blood of man. And this is why I also believed that the devil rebelled,
-
since the devil found himself created an angel to be a ministering spirit to
-
men like us. And he said, huh, I ain't doing that,
-
created as the most important of the ministering angels before the creation of man.
-
But then he rebelled because he was not going to serve Dan. He just
-
was not going to do it. That's called pride. He rebelled to this
-
beautiful order of God. And we can't understand this, but see, that
-
is why it is so humbling ourselves to just submit to Dan or to somebody
-
else, or your boss, or your father, your mother, Joe Biden,
-
whatever it is, the evil governor that you have out here. It's
-
just so hard to submit to such a thing, because in us is this
-
thing like the devil. Huh, you don't know who I am. I
-
ain't doing it because without Christ and the transforming power of Christ is we are
-
the sons of the devil. And our flesh does just not like to listen
-
to Laylan. It just doesn't want to do that. It wants to serve
-
ourselves. And if Christ is not in us and transforming us, and we
-
are not living a life of repentance day after day after that and being renewed
-
again by the Word of God and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
-
then we're just going to find ourselves like the devil saying, huh, No,
-
I ain't doing that. The Bible just has a word for it.
-
It's pride we see over here on this side. This is why on First
-
Christy, chapter eleven, the Bible says that not just the both realms of
-
angels are watching you, and they can tell whether you are submitting to this
-
ordernance of headship. So these angels, Paul says in first Printans elevens,
-
are watching your life. And if they can tell that you are not submitting
-
to this ordernance of divine headship, they know then that they have power in
-
your life. So if your life and your heart is truly submitting to the
-
divine or order of headship, then you have power with those group of angels.
-
Two thirds. Always remember it was two thirds and one third. Don't
-
forget that when there was a war in heaven, two thirds were on God's
-
side and one third on the Devil's side. So never forget that. It's
-
two thirds one thirds. But if these angels that are watching you, if
-
they see that you are falling that and that is your heart, and that's
-
why you wear that thinging on your head First Corinthians, chapter eleven, then
-
they know that the good power angels, they have power in your life.
-
But you might have that thinking on your head, but your heart is still
-
unsubmitted, and the angels can see that and know that, and then the
-
devil's angels will have power in your heart. Well back again, Jesus has
-
not becoming an angel, but he became a man obedient unto the death of
-
the body. Philpians chapter two says he became. He went down, down,
-
down, even not just to a cross or death, but the most
-
despised death of the death, and that is a Romans got their revenge by
-
taking their the meason, hanging him up on the tree, naked, stripping
-
of them everything. Because you went to the cross. You didn't take your
-
truck, you didn't take your keys, you didn't take your car, you
-
didn't take your wife, you didn't take your money, you didn't take your
-
prestige, you didn't take anything. They stripped you down and shamed you and
-
hung you up there for everyone to see and to make fun of. And
-
that's exactly what happened. They went by and they shook their heads, and
-
he said, hey, he saved the others. He couldn't save yourself.
-
That is quite a statement, because if he would have come down, and
-
he could have come down, then he could not have saved us. How
-
Lolijah, he hung there. He decided to what a paradoxical truth, because
-
if he had served himself and came off the cross, which indeed he had
-
the divine power to do, then he could not have saved me and you
-
and Paul Is very clear on these things. And the Hebrew Runner is very
-
clear that he took on him the form of a man, but also retained
-
the divinity of God. And I cannot explain this to you, for in
-
him cautions rights tells us dwellth all the fullness of the godhead bodily. So
-
in his when he grew into manhood and became this savior, in him dwells
-
the God had bodily. I can I explain that one hundred percent of mine
-
and one hundred percent human. And we had the school teacher over here,
-
and he teaches math. He teaches you that you can't have to have more
-
than one hundred percent, right, but Jesus has two hundred percent. And
-
we read this in Hebrews Filippings, chapter two, Hebrews five, that he
-
learned obedience. I cannot explain all that, but he did become human.
-
And in Romans chapter eight, verse seventeen, it explains to us that he
-
gave up some of his inheritance so that Jason can have some of it when
-
he passes on. He didn't have to do that for you, Jason and
-
I get some And if we're facial, and it tells us this in Romans
-
chapter eight. So something I'm putting us all together, something incredible happened.
-
He was not a man, but now in the in the birth story,
-
he became flesh and blood. There he was lying as a baby, a
-
divine man with all the attributes of God, but a willingness to lay aside
-
those attributes of divinity aside. And this again we cannot understand. But the
-
Bible is true, and it says that he was in that life tempted in
-
all points, yet without sin. And I know this has been a doctrinal
-
argument that's going on. Could Jesus have sinned? Well, I'm just going
-
to submit to you that if he could not be tempted, then the Bible
-
is not true. And if he could not have sinned, I don't have
-
any use for him. I do not understand this. The Bible says he
-
was tempted in all points, yet without sin. So when this young man
-
Jesus saw a beautiful girl across the street, I must conclude that he there
-
was some kind of temptations, and we know they're in meta chapter. Whichever
-
it is, that the devil came to him intending to make him fall,
-
right, I must conclude that Jesus could have sinned or I don't maybe this
-
to Cardinal, but he just wouldn't be any good for me, because the
-
Bible says clearly he was tempted in all points, and therefore he can come
-
along my side. I don't understand this, but I do know the dweene
-
Ebe taught me one time, and I've never forgotten. I believe it'd be
-
true. I'll give it to you in case she didn't already come through these
-
parts and give it to you. But when you are tempted of a sin,
-
Dwayne Todd, one thing that you read about Jesus, he never he
-
never drew upon his divinity to win the temptation. He always did the same
-
thing that you. The same way that you and I will win over temptation
-
is the same the same way that Jesus want over temptation is the same way
-
that we win over temptation. That is, he called upon his Father in
-
heaven. He called upon the word of heaven, the word of God in
-
heaven, and he cried out for grace from Father in heaven. That is
-
how the Jesus won the temptations that we know about, and that is the
-
same way that you and I will win a temptation, he did not use
-
his divinity to win. And so when the devil offered him a farm,
-
he was tempted to accept it because there would be personal progress at hand.
-
And when the defa offered him a position that avoided the cross, he was
-
tempted to avoid it. In fact, he found himself finally in the garden
-
crime, so the temptation that began in the wilderness finally culnimated or climax there
-
in the garden. Father, isn't there some other way that Jason could be
-
saved? This thing has been in effect all these years from eternity past.
-
But Father, isn't just some way that I could avoid this and Jason could
-
be saved? And the answer is no. And so he said, I'll
-
do it. And here's another complete doctrinal thing that I don't understand. But
-
it seems like from there on the temptations were going. It just seems like
-
from there on he went to the cross with every bit of confident confidence.
-
And that's some more things that brother Leland can teach you next month, because
-
I don't understand them. So we had this mystery. Could God not sin.
-
And then how could he enter into temptation as myself. I don't know
-
the answer, but it was wrapped up in the man Jesus Christ. And
-
this mystery we will have to wait for the answer in the meanwhile, the
-
Bible good enough, and the Hebrews writer is clear. Number five, We'll
-
let be back up. So we have agreed or submitted, or I don't
-
know if you've agreed or not, but at least I've submitted that he became
-
forever a priest after the order Milchiedec to make intercession for us forever. And
-
he was a god man one percent who was tempted not by the flesh,
-
because he did not have a sinful flesh. But somehow he was tempted in
-
a way that brother Jason can he just can walk with him. And something
-
miraculous beyond what we often consider happened in the incarnation. That is, he
-
agreed upon sacrifice to become the priest forever after order of Melchizedec to make intercessious
-
forever. And here's my next point, Jesus perfect life and death. He
-
became the new Atom and the head of the human race. God had created
-
Atom to be the head or the leader of the human race. But Romans
-
chapter five on Christians fifteen twenty. Now Christ is risen from the dead and
-
became the first roots of them that slept every man in his own order.
-
Christ the first truths. Afterward, they are at Christ at his coming in
-
Romans chapter five. So the point I'm making here, God created Adam to
-
become the leader of the human race, but he failed, and so Jesus
-
Christ became the leader of the human family. The first fruits of the resurrection.
-
The first time that machine pulls into that field and the first bushel or
-
see goes through that thing, that's the first fruits. See in the Hebrew
-
life. You can go back into Leviticus, everything, the money, the
-
time, everything went around first fruits. And he died first as the head
-
of the human race because Adam failed and he rose again. We're just going
-
to say today, that's what we're having this celebration about, and became the
-
first fruits. He was the first one, as a divine god man to
-
die and come out of the grave and resurrect. And if we, young
-
people, if you and I are faithful, when we die, we will
-
be the harvest. It's wonderful because of this incarnation. That is, it's
-
a word that means divinity become flesh. So he took Adam's place as the
-
head of the human race. And in death he became the first in bodily
-
resurrection. He was the first one in body resirection. And he that is
-
in Christ no longer lives in law and death, but in love and life.
-
I must finish, but I'm going to finish, and then we number
-
six. Jesus died as a human. He did not die as a spirit.
-
They did not put a spirit on the cross. None of us would
-
disagree with that they put a man on the cross. There's no dispute except
-
for some non Christian people or historical atheistic groups and so forth. For if
-
we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also God would
-
bring with him who have fallen asleep in Jesus first, that's Enage four fourteen.
-
Number seven. Jesus had prophesied that he would rise in glorified humanity.
-
He told these men destroy the temple in three days, I'll build it up
-
again. And Jews said, you crazy fool. It took forty six years
-
to build this thing. And you're gonna raise it up in three days.
-
But the Bible says he was speaking of his body in Luke chapter twenty four.
-
A philip. It was a philip. Which one was it? Anyway,
-
he just wasn't there, and he just once that. I got to
-
bullieve this story. And Jesus came in there, came right in there,
-
and he said, see my hands and my feet and touched me. For
-
a spirit does not have flesh and blooms. Wherefore, therefore it was evening
-
on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors were
-
shut where the disciples were for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood
-
in their mists and said, peace be with you. And when he had
-
said this, he showed them his hands and his side, and the disciples
-
rejoiced when they saw the Lord. And he said, all was Thomas,
-
say that memory thing raises. He said to Thomas, reach here your finger
-
and see my hands, And reach here your hand and put it in my
-
side. And don't be unbelieving, rather be believing, because here I am.
-
And Paul confirmed us. If Christ has not been raised, then our
-
preaching is vain, and your faith also is vain, and Paul raised to
-
Timothy there is one God, one mediator between God and man, the man
-
Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom to be testified in due time,
-
where until I am ordained a preacher at a gospel. And this was the
-
controversy that Paul met over the place when he would talk about as are erected
-
to Jesus, because people said you are a fool. And yet he stood
-
on that because right there, everybody else's Jesus is dead, but ours is
-
not dead. He's alive. And he told Thomas, just touch me if
-
you don't believe it. Was he touching a spirit. No, he had
-
a physical body which you could see. And then one morning after that he
-
was still confirming this. Then and they were out there fishing, and he
-
said, come on over here. I got breakfast ready, just like Elfsie's
-
made breakfast for us over there in a little cottage. And they came over
-
there and they had fish and they ate this stuff. They had a fire
-
going there. Jesus was standing there and he was making this food and they
-
were eating this. He wasn't a spirit, he was a man with flesh
-
and Blood's a hold one I'm not quite finishing with flesh and bones, but
-
without blood. No blood. Dan, when you come up, you're going
-
to be body and flesh glorified, but not bones, but not blood.
-
No blood. The life will Jesus. And now the life is your blood.
-
So I'm getting ahead of myself here. But my next point is that
-
Jesus rose from the dead physically as a human. And this is confirmed by
-
the men and the women, and the Gospels as witness of this truth.
-
The Bible declares, has already been said. This morning. We sang it,
-
we declared it, we believe it. He is not here, for
-
he is risen. And they took his body right down off of that cross.
-
Nicodemus and Joseph did Pharamanthia, and they took it over there, and
-
they put it in that. They put it in that too there, and
-
the study was rolled in front of it. And Mary came that morning and
-
Peter braisen that he was running right in there. And the body that was
-
hung on the cross and was buried in that grave was gone. The same
-
body that was hung on the cross was gone from the grave. And then
-
Jesus turns around and talk to Mary, and for a little bit she did,
-
but she did not mistake Jesus for nan. She knew who he was,
-
Rabbi or not. So the body that was laid in the tomb was
-
gone. It was not there, and Jesus rose from the dead in the
-
same body which he had got, although please do not misunderstand me. It
-
was a glorified body. He could go through doors, and he could eat
-
fish, and he'd come right in that door there and met with Thomas and
-
said, see me. And then Paul says that later on five hundred.
-
I don't have many here this morning, maybe one hundred and fifty of us
-
bout five times his people. Many people were at some place at one time,
-
and Jesus came over. Five hundred were there at that one time.
-
Jesus said, this is not a tail or. Paul said, this is
-
not a tail this is this is true. So his physical body was seen,
-
a glorified physical bod. And Leland's gonna explain that to you. Sometimes
-
James also saw him, and Stephens saw him, and Paul saw him,
-
and he said, I see him standing on the right hand of the Father.
-
And then about ninety years later Jesus John saw him. The hairs that
-
have had were white black wool. Says, we had that story there in
-
the revelation. He saw him there, he's there. This situation where we're
-
living right now is not have to be like we never were going to hit
-
the pole. And then after all this, they went walking out there one
-
day, these disciples went out there with him, and it says these words.
-
It says, Jesus just went up as a man, a glorified one
-
in flesh and bones, without blood. And it says these words. Angel
-
said, the same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
-
shall so calm in like manner as you have seen him go into. How
-
did he go? That's the same way he's coming back, because he is
-
the first fruits. And here do not miss this. Only saying that Jesus
-
rose is not enough. It must be stated and declared by the word of
-
God, that Jesus rose physically, lest the very words of Christ and the
-
Gospel are denied. And when John so there in the churches, he immediately
-
knew who he was. Right like that, Jesus said he would raise his
-
temple of his body. Jesus body is the first m from the dead,
-
retained the physical wounds of his crucifixion. But I'm getting my finger back,
-
Praise God. And I don't know how to explain that, but apparently through
-
eternity he's going to be humble enough, whatever that is in the reality that
-
would just crowd around him for the wounds that I put there and that you
-
put there. One time I preached the message who crucified Jesus? For the
-
answer is I did, and we'll get to see that redemption. And Paul
-
says in verse fifteen that anyone that denies the bodily and flesh resurrection of Jesus
-
Christ has a lying faith, and he's vain and he's not a true Christian.
-
And so it's not enough to believe that Jesus rose. We must also
-
acknowledge that he rose from the dead in his glorified body, always to be
-
so, and death is conquered the sting of death, or else our faith
-
of being, Paul declares, And Jesus' resurrected body was a glorified body,
-
and I declaranty you this morning that he is still a glorified man with the
-
right hand of the Father in our behalf. And he's coming again in the
-
same way that he went, and heaven is going to be real, real,
-
real, real, whatever that is, it's going to be a real
-
faith. Now, some of my friends say, well, we don't understand
-
and what reality is, and I am sure that I don't, but I'm
-
sure that I'm right that just as he went is the same way that he's
-
coming again. Praise th Lord, so we can know what kind of bodies
-
we will have in the resurrection, glorified bodies with flesh and blood, glorified
-
flesh and pardon me, flesh and bones, glorified flesh and bones without blood,
-
which was shed on the cross for our skins. It was not subject
-
to death again. Jesus' body is not subject to death ever. Again.
-
He destroyed death. It will never go tired and never get old. It
-
will never wear out. It will always be wonderful. And Jesus said that
-
you and I faithful, if we are, will receive exactly the same kind
-
of future. You know, young people, I know this is not too
-
popular of a subject to say, but you know, there's some value if
-
you just have a few moments sometime to just go out there in the graveyard
-
and just sit out there in muse what will it be like when the glorious
-
appearing of Jesus Christ. It's a good place to meditate out there in the
-
grave, can you imagine? And Jesus today lives as a man in a
-
glorified body to intercede in behalf of all those who face. But some will
-
say, how are the dead race? And what kind of body do they
-
come? It is sown in dishonor it is raised in glory the son,
-
and weakness is raised in power. Is sony natural bodies raising spiritual body.
-
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Parre
-
you. So also it is written the first man, Adam became a living
-
soul. The last Adam became a life giving spirit. However, the spiritual
-
is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual. The first man
-
is from the earth, earthly, and the second man is from heaven as
-
earthly. So also those who are earthly, and as is the heavenly,
-
say also those who are heaven they and just as we have been born the
-
image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
-
Something happens, it is son in the grave, natural, and it is
-
raised spiritual and glorified, just like the body of Jesus Christ, and the
-
same body that is Son dies and is raised into a glorified body and change.
-
Now, some of the objections that I have received from my friends on
-
this teaching is verses like this, flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of
-
God. And some argue that the Bible says that flesh and blood cannot go
-
into Heaven. And I agree with that. But I do say this,
-
that the Bible says that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God,
-
but flesh and glorified flesh and bones can and will. The flesh and blood
-
term in the Bible is always used like human intellectualism. Blessed r Alse Barginienaugh
-
for flesh and blood. Your smarts from Purdue Inneruniversity, if you have one,
-
does not reveal to you that I am the Messiah. Flesh and blood
-
did not do that. Paul says that I might preach him among the heathen.
-
Immediately I conferred with flesh and blood. That is, I was in
-
this controversy between two men of intellectual logic. And Paul writes, we wrestle
-
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
-
rulers of the darkness world. Against that means right now we are in a
-
conflict human logic and reason and non understanding, for lack of better terms is
-
all we have to argue with. But that does not mean that flesh and
-
bones, glorified flesh and bones, cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven. Because
-
it reads that Jesus did, and I believe it. And then in Hebrews
-
too, as children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise
-
took part of the same. And I believe that Jesus did have flesh and
-
bones and blood. And they rammed a sword into side, and the Bible
-
says it poured out on planet Earth for my sins and for you, and
-
then he rose again, just like we are going to have. And that
-
is enough for me. Let's pray. Let's kneel for prayer. Thank you
-
Father for this glorious truth and bless and care for us, and give us
-
more faith and more belief, and more righteousness and more holiness and more love
-
for the brothers, and more ability and reason to seek after You and Jesus'
-
name. We pray it amen,
