Get In, Sit Down, and Hold ON | March 08,2026

Before we, before we get into the scripture, I'll give you

the, the premise for that. So when I was, when I was

younger and I knew an old guy, I was like 24 and he was, he was

old. He's like almost 30.

He's old. And I, I had a wheeled which,

you know, I had full drive trucks and mine was broken.

And so we got in, we got in his, he got a 67 Bronco with a full

roll cage and, and racing buckets.

And there's a point to all this and racing buckets.

And I was there when the, when the cage was put in and I

trusted that cage. And so when I got in his truck

and I got in, I, I sat down in the racing bucket, I put my 5

point harness on and I held on, right?

And I trusted. Now the difference between the

trust we're going to talk about today is what I trusted.

I didn't trust the driver as much as I trusted the cage I was

in. And as we're Wheeling and doing

crazy, stupid stuff, I knew if he made a mistake, we might

roll. But I'm going to be fine because

I am completely secure in my position.

Now the difference between the two kinds of trust here is that

we can completely trust the driver of what I'm going to talk

about. So this is Jesus.

John 13 is Jesus washing the disciples feet.

And we're going to read down to down to verse 11 now before the

feast of Passover when Jesus knew that his hour had come,

that he should depart from the from this world to the Father,

having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the

end. And supper being ended, the

devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot,

Simon's son, to betray him, Jesus, knowing that the Father

had given all things to into his hands, and that he had come from

God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside his

garments, took a towel and girded himself.

After that he poured water into a basin and began to wash the

disciples feet and to wipe them with his towel, with with which

he was girded. Then he came to Simon Peter, and

Peter said to him, Lord, are you washing my feet?

And Jesus said to him, What I'm doing you do not understand now,

but you will now. You will know after this.

And Peter said to him, You shall never wash my feet.

And Jesus answered him, If I do not wash your feet, you have no

part in me. Simon Peter said to him, Lord,

not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

And Jesus said to him, He who is bathed needs only to wash his

feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not all

of you for he knew who would betray him.

Therefore, therefore he said you are not all clean.

And Lord I do I just lift up this time and just just the

safeness in you, Lord and Lord, that you would just be in our

midst, Lord that you'd speak through me and that you just

guide this, this study. I pray all this in Jesus name.

So we will get into why that is applicable to Exodus 3 before

the end of this. But we are in Exodus 3 and

chapter one verse or chapter 3 verse one says now Moses was

tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of

Midian, and he laid the led the flock to the back of the desert

and came to hair of the mountain of God.

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of

fire from the midst of a Bush. So we so he looked, and behold,

the Bush was burning with fire, but the Bush was not consumed.

Then Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this this site.

Why the Bush does not burn. So when the Lord saw that he

turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the

Bush and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am.

Then he said, do not draw near this place.

Take the sandals off your feet for the place where you stand is

holy ground. And this is from last week.

This is a 40 year jump, though we we turn the page from chapter

2 to chapter 3 and we're we've moved forward 40 years in the

story and something we miss a lot, right?

We get that in Acts 730 is Stevens telling the Sanhedrin.

And when 40 years had passed, the Angel of the Lord appeared

to him in a flame, a fire and a Bush in the wilderness, in the

wilderness of Mount Sinai. So for us it's a page turn.

But for Moses, 40 years is a lifetime.

You know, Moses entered the desert, entered the wilderness,

went and got married and has been with Jethro.

And when he showed up, he was a Prince.

But he is now a shepherd. And, and he's a shepherd in his

own eyes, right? He, he's, if you think about 40

years, right, I'm 54 years old and 40 years is a lot of my

life. It's not it.

I can't tell you if I remember what it was like to be 14.

So Moses, 40 years after, is at 80 years old.

He is a shepherd in his eyes, but in God's eyes he is ready

for the work he has been made for.

And Moses is deep in the wilderness, alone with only his

sheep, and he ends up at the mountain of God.

And the Angel of the Lord appears to him.

And this Angel of the Lord, guys, this is the Lord in in in

scholar speak. It's a Christophany, which means

a pre Incarnate moment where Jesus is here, right?

The word of God is speaking. But this is the Lord.

And I can prove that if you just watch how angels, angels react,

angels are not fans of anyone claiming they're God.

And they're, they're also not fans of being worshipped like

God. So when, when, when he says take

off your sandals and draw near because you're on holy ground.

This is a, this is a, you know that I'm important that he, he's

the the flame is pointing to himself as being the important

thing. And an Angel would never do

that. Acts 1222 is a moment that a man

decided that he could, he could accept, he could accept God's

glory and, and accept that praise for himself.

And like I said, angels, they don't, they don't take that

well. Acts 12/22 And the people kept

shouting the voice of a God and not a man and immediately an

Angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give glory to

God and he was eaten by worms. This is Herod Agrippa who wasn't

wasn't he was not a good person all the way around.

But this was like the last straw.

But the, the historians will tell us that Herod Agrippa died,

died suddenly of a parasitical infestation, right?

Like roundworms or tapeworms, But it was not a, a good end.

And that is an Angel. And the just the, I don't know,

I, I can just see that happening at the Angel.

Shut up, right? It's I can, I don't know.

I, I have a picture of this Angel in my head and, and just

the, the feistiness of, oh, I'm done with him, right?

And, and because this Herod Agrippa was on the throne when

Jesus was crucified, so I'm not saying that the Angel didn't

have some God-given animosity towards Herod Agrippa, right?

I always remind everybody that while Jesus was being crucified,

there was an army of angels that were just waiting for him to

clear his throat, right? They were watching their their

God. They were watching the God of

the universe be be abused and defamed and beaten by dirt.

And I say that whenever you guys hear me say dirt, we it's we

were made from dust. And from an angel's point of

view, they were there when we were made, when Adam was made

from dust. And so we are just dirt and we

don't have, we don't have standing any more than they have

standing. And we'll get into that.

But they understand who they serve.

So God had built Moses. He built the tool he wanted.

Like we talked about last week, He was a Prince and as such

would have been trained in mind and body to lead and rule from

above. And now with the use of Jethro,

his father-in-law, and some sheep, God had trained him to

lead those who are weak to safety by standing against the

strong as God leads. And it doesn't share with us,

it's a page turn. It doesn't share with us what

those times in the desert look like.

But after 40 years, just like David, later on, we get to hear

about defending against lions and defending against bears,

right? This is Moses had been tending

his flock in the wilderness and he had plenty of time to be

alone with the Lord And when we look at the holy ground passage

the next time we have a moment like that and it is truly you

guys will hear about it over and over again.

But it is truly one of my favorite passages because it

really explains our position with what is our standing with

the Lord, What is our position? What kind of information do I

get to give the Lord? Joshua 513 says, and this is

talking about Joshua. And it came to pass when Joshua

was by Jericho that he lifted his eyes and looked and behold,

a man stood opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand.

And Joshua went to him and said, are you for us or for our

adversaries? This is a reasonable question,

right? And the, the guy with the sword

just says, so he said, no, this is kind of nerve wracking, but

the commander of the Lord's army, I have come.

And Joshua fell at his face, fell on his face to the earth

and worshipped and said to him, what does my Lord say to his

servant? Then the commander of the Lord's

army said to Joshua, take off your sandals for your for the

place where you stand is holy. And Joshua did so.

So he submitted, right. And that submitted, right, that

is that get in and sit down, right.

When I, when I got in that Bronco and I got in and I sat

down, I, I was submitting. I mean, like I said, I'm talking

about the cage, but I was submitting to that vehicle.

I was submitting to, to the where we were going and what we

were going to do. And when they were commanded to

take off their sandals, right. And if you think about Moses's

sandals, he's a shepherd out in the wilderness.

However many miles and days he'd been out there to the back of

the desert, his, his sandals would have been covered with his

work. We'll just put it like that.

And then Joshua had the same sandals for over 40 years.

Their, their, their shoes didn't wear out.

And in that time, Joshua had been in many battles.

So there would have been, there would have been blood on his

shoes. There'd have been stains.

There's just been life, right? He'd lived in those shoes for 40

years and Moses and Joshua were, were unclean to step on the holy

ground. I don't imagine when they took

their, took their sandals off, their feet were much cleaner.

If you've ever, if you've ever been somewhere where everybody's

running around and just just sandals.

And in Uganda, there's a lot of that.

Your feet aren't any cleaner, right?

You're in the same dirt, in the same dust.

But the act of removing their sandals was, was submission to

the one asking, right? It was it was that, it was that

accepting that that they needed to do something and they were

willing to do what I whatever they were asked, which is at

that point they were getting in right.

And God is looking for our heart and our actions to come from our

heart. It's because he sees them both

together. If, if, if Joshua would have had

a rebellious heart at that point and said, I'll take my shoes

off, but I ain't getting down on my face, there probably would

have been a problem. And since the commander of the

Lord's army had his sword drawn, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be

reading about Joshua. But it's that that attitude,

right? And he sees our faith and our

works together. And that's something that, you

know, I talked about the get TOS and all that.

But James 218 says, but some someone will say you have faith

and I have works. Show me your faith without your

works and I will show you my faith by my works.

And if you paraphrase that into modern English, it's work

without faith is dead. But if you have faith, you will

do work, right? You if you're if you have faith,

there are things that are going to go on in your life through

that faith, right? Moses and Joshua obeyed God and

he spoke to them. Their hearts and minds were

turned towards him. God will have meetings with us

throughout our lives, right, If our hearts are turned towards

and not emotional, not big movements of not big movements,

not not I feel not I'm God will speak to us and and he will

speak to us in that that still small voice, but he will never

ever take us away from the truth, right?

He will never tell. I mean a good example of one of

those just well, I, I God's God's telling me that I need to

to marry my secretary and divorce my wife and believe it

or not, there are there are people around the world that

come to come to pastors and come to friends with those kind of

God's telling me to break his law and I believe he's really

telling me to do that. He'll never do that never right.

It's anything God's asking you to do is going to be with it.

It may not say do it in the Bible, but it won't say don't do

it. That makes sense.

And Paul, Paul in Galatians 18 really like puts the nail in

that coffin as far as who we're supposed to listen to and and

it's the truth, right? That's what we're that's what

we're aimed at. It's why God wrote it down South

Galatians 18. But if we or an Angel from

heaven preach any other gospel to you, then then what we preach

to you, let him be accursed, as we have said before.

So now we say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to

you, then what we have received, let him be accursed.

For I do not persuade men or God.

For do I now persuade men or God, or do I seek to please men?

For if I please men, I would not be a bond servant of Christ,

right? And it's it's the idea of

keeping the main thing the main thing right that we're we are

serving him. And Paul's, Paul's focus here is

submission to Christ, submission to what God has has said, what

God has shared and not with an experience.

So here, here are a couple more moments where I can say angels

and angels just have such a good understanding of who God is

because they see him, right? They, they're, they're in his

presence and they don't. It doesn't take faith for an

Angel, an Angel is there we the reason that we have a deep

relationship with the Lord is because of our faith with him.

Faith that he is there and he is, he is living right?

But an Angel knows. So this is how an Angel responds

to John. Revelation 19 nine.

Then he said to me, Right, Blessed are those who are called

to the marriage supper of the Lamb.

And he said, And he said to me, these are the true sayings of

God. And I fell at his feet to

worship him. But he said to me, See that you

don't do that. I am your fellow servant and of

your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus worship God.

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

And then John hears him. But then go on to verse 22 or

chapter 22 verse 8. Now I John saw and heard these

things. And when I heard, I saw I fell

down to worship before the feet of the Angel who showed me these

things. And then he said to me, see that

you do not do that for I am your fellow servant and of your

brethren, the prophets and of those who keep the words of this

book worship God. So how important is it that we

worship God and not not not a building, not a congregation,

not a person that and pick the thing that we we can get our

eyes focused on. We're to worship the Lord and

angels know his glory and they don't they don't want to take

any of it right? They I mean, you see it where

wherever you see angels in in the word in the Bible, you just

get to see them pointing to him and saying how awesome is our

God? And that is our response.

That's what we're supposed to do at all times, right?

And so angels completely understand how completely silly

it is to attempt to have pride about anything that's going on

in our lives. And I had A at a my, my favorite

dog was the dog named Buddy. He was a border collie blue

heeler mix. And Buddy was awesome.

He he was about as human as you can get growing up with him.

But he had a really bad problem of because he's not a big dog.

I mean, he's a medium sized dog, but he really thought he was the

biggest dog in the room at any time.

And there was a time we were playing fetch with a young bull

mastiff and I'm throwing the ball and Buddy was really fast.

So he'd go out and come back before the bull mastiff even got

halfway there. So then I started throwing the

ball, but I'd I'd hold Buddy and I'd make him stay until the bull

mastiff could get to the ball and then I'd send Buddy.

Well, they, they met at the ball at 1 moment and Buddy is just

all over this poor puppy, right? I mean, puppies like 2 to three

times his size and kind of like going what are you doing?

As Buddy is although, and I get him pulled apart and everything

and then we go. And this was kind of part of the

course when everybody was around other dogs.

He thought he was the big dog in the room.

Then I took him camping and I was with friends and they had a

Great Dane, Great Dane named Jake.

And by the end of that weekend, without getting into a whole lot

of stuff, by the end of that weekend, Buddy didn't drink

water unless Jake said. Buddy didn't eat food unless

Jake said. Buddy didn't move unless Jake

said. And after that, I mean, after

that, Buddy was the best dog in all environments.

Other dogs didn't matter to him. Other dogs being aggressive

toward didn't matter to him. Because Buddy, I wanted to say

what he what he used to tell him is I used to think I'm the big

dog. I met the big dog.

You're not him either, right? And that should be our attitude,

right? In all things, right is I met

the big dog and I'm not him and neither are you, right?

And that's we need to have that that heart of just serving the

Lord and understanding that I can do nothing outside of what

he wants me to do. And that that brings us to that

John 13 passage of Jesus washing feet.

And 11 of the men who got their feet cleaned were clean.

They got in, they got in, they sat down.

One had his feet cleaned and was still unclean.

He stood outside. He he looked at the cage, he he

examined the Bronco, but he didn't get in.

Submission to Jesus as our Lord is the key to all of it.

Peter submitted because his heart was already given to Jesus

his Lord, right? He was willing to follow him

wherever he went. Judas thought Jesus was a

teacher or even even a good leader, but he wasn't his Lord.

Judas wasn't submitted to him. So Moses and Joshua taking off

their sandals or or the apostles having their feet washed was

just a sign of what it had already gone on had already

happened in their heart. Jesus was already the apostles

Lord, It doesn't tell us, like I said about the the training

Moses God in the desert, but there was training there.

And you you can just see that in the fruit of the next the next

40 years of his life that he was he had been prepared for this

right. It wasn't a he didn't get to

that burning Bush and go, well, maybe I'll take my shoes off,

maybe I won't. He as we go through it, you'll

see he's, he is, his heart is submitted.

It's questioning, but it's submitted.

And the 11 disciples got to have their feet washed, right?

They got to have their feet washed.

They had faith and, and that that gave them the ability to to

have they, they knew who Jesus was and because of that, they

trusted him, right, because having a rabbi wash your feet as

much as it's a story we read in the Bible, that is an awkward

thing, Peter. Peter points it out right.

You aren't going to wash my feet, Lord.

And and then the Lord explains to him that you'll have no part

in me. Well, OK, I I need you to wash

my whole body. It's like a little extreme Peter

little, I mean, but that but that's that's Peter all through

the Bible, right Is Peter is a lot like David.

He was just after God and and did he mess up a lot?

Absolutely. Do we mess up?

Absolutely, but it's about our our heart.

Judas on the other hand, Judas had to get his feet washed to

fit in. Jesus was just rules to follow,

right? He was a teacher that was there

to to direct, but he wasn't his Lord.

And I love this story guys, because it answers so many

questions about Jesus and who he is and what he's willing to do.

Because Jesus knew who Judas was.

He knew what he was going to do and he still washed his feet.

He still gave him the offer. And Jesus and Judas up until the

end could have said, Lord, save me.

I've, I've made a horrible mistake.

And the door was open. Judas could have got in until it

closes, right? And and The thing is, is, is

with that closing, and I don't want to get in deep into this,

but with that closing, we don't know when that happens.

Is you can be you can go to church every day or every, every

time the church buildings open. And if you haven't got serious

with the Lord, there's a point where, where the door is going

to close, but not because Jesus closed it, because you did and

you don't want him anymore. And you don't know when that's

going to happen, right? You need to be, you need to be

about his business and serious about what he's asking us to do.

And, and Judas just never got there.

He was there the whole time with the other apostles.

He heard all the same things. He just never got in.

And, and I'd say at this time, this is this is the passage

where Jesus just reaches over and closes the door and not

Jesus didn't do that, Judas did. So God always wants repentance,

always. He write, he wrote a whole book

in the Bible about repentance, which is Jonah, Rahab,

everybody. You'll read that.

We're going to get into that. But Moses's command was to kill

everybody in Canaan. Rahab would have been one of the

everybody. And Rahab feared God and

submitted to him and she was saved.

Saul. Saul was out killing the church.

Jesus knocked him off his horse and Paul got in right.

And that's, that is the God we serve.

He is not looking for a reason to judge you.

He is looking for a reason for you to get in the truck.

He is looking for a reason to for you to submit, for you to

repent. That's it.

He, I mean to the point when I say that he is not looking to

judge us. He will.

It's coming, but He isn't looking for it.

He sent his son to die in a cross so that we don't have to

so that we have that, that we are clean.

When we submit to him, we are clean.

And this is this is Peter and the other apostles, some of

their training they got before they were they before their feet

were washed. But where Jesus says if your

whole body is washed, then you just need to wash your feet.

You just need to submit to the next step.

John 666, which is a great number for this line.

From that time many of his disciples went back and walked

with him no more. Doesn't that fit?

Number of man? Verse 67 Then Jesus said to the

12 Do you also want to go away? But Simon Peter answered him,

Lord, to whom shall we go? You are the Christ.

Sorry Lord, whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal

life also. We have come to believe and to

know you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

So they were completely willing to just get in, right?

Jesus was their Lord, and well before He washed their feet,

their heart had been submitted to Him.

Right now, that all makes sense. Wondered how I got there.

I missed the whole page. You know, that's awesome.

OK, we're going to back up a little bit because this is

important. I was wondering where where that

was. That's what happens when my

stapler's broken. But anyway, so back to angels

and why they don't like touching God's glory and how important it

is that they don't touch God's glory.

Revelation 12/7. This is a time an Angel touched

God's glory or attempted to and a war broke out in heaven and

Michael and his archangels or Michael and his angels fought

with the dragon and the dragon and his angels fought, but they

did not prevail, nor was there a place found for them in heaven

any longer. So the great dragon was cast out

and the serpent of old called the devil and Satan who deceives

the whole world, he was cast to the earth and his angels were

cast out with him. So angels have better memories

than us, right? Because, because we, I can, we

look at the fruit of, of a little self worship and false

humility. We, we watch that all over

televangelism or just in general, and we can see the

damage, but they can see it. They can see the end of the

damage, right? And they remember what that was

in in Isaiah. It goes on and says, how you are

fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning, how you are

cut down to the ground, you who weaken the nations.

For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven.

I will exalt my throne above the star of God, stars of God.

I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest

side of the north. I will ascend above the heights

of the cloud. I will be like the Most High

yet. You shall be brought down to

Shiloh, to the lowest depths of the pit.

Angels get what's on the line right.

They they understand that when you attempt to go after God's

glory, it ends badly. And they've seen the end.

Not outside of time. Some of these angels are in the

pit today because of choices they've made.

Others are still wandering around wreaking havoc.

But they are not. They are not up there with the

glory. They've been cast down.

The day he attempted to take worship from God, they watched

as as God cast down the first. I mean the that was a judgement

that they got to watch. And how do we avoid that

judgement, right? What is the is we get in right?

I don't drive the truck right. And believe it or not, the old

guy, he's old. He wouldn't let me drive the

truck right. It's weird, but we get in, hold

down, hold on, get in and hold on.

Which is we submit and abide. And that is John 15 five.

I am the vine, you are the branches.

He who abides in me and I and him bear much fruit, but without

me you can do nothing. So if I'm not in the truck, I am

not going anywhere. You know, I, I think I've used

the the line in the past of, you know, I can study a plane.

I know everything there is about flying.

I know everything there is about flying.

I don't. But I could, I could even go and

see a plane and I could crawl all over it.

I could hang on to the outside of it.

But unless I get in the plane, I ain't making it very far, right?

I mean, I can be on the plane and when it takes off and hits

200 plus miles an hour, I'm pretty sure I fell off before

that. So it's, it's important for us

to be in Christ, not, not around Christ, not not near Christ, but

in Christ. And the the reason that's such a

big thing is and that go that gets back to the works part of

this game. The action of work helps us to

understand his his truth more. You know, we get to read and

pray and fellowship, and those are works.

Those are that's work, right, Reading your Bible and and

praying and and being a fellowship and witnessing.

I call them the get TOS. We get to do those things, but

it really depends on where we're at when we're doing them,

because if we're if we're at that, we know him and we want to

know him more than when we read. He speaks, Prairie answers

fellowship, he builds and witnesses witnessing he uses.

But if we come to each one of those as self help, you know, I

kind of put in here, you know, that the attitude America get

her done. I'm just going to I'm going to

read my Bible, I'm going to I'm going to pray.

I got, I got my little, got my little list of things here and

I'm going to, I'll be in church every time the doors are open

and I will tell people about Jesus, but I don't have a

relationship with him. I'm just doing it because I,

it's a requirement. Guys, that's bondage and it

leads to despair. And think of how Peter and Judas

ended up, right? Jesus washed his disciples feet

and one of them got joy and one of them got despair and it was

how the position of their heart. Now we're going to move back,

back to Exodus and Moses. And I'm sure he had many, many

moments in the dark, wild back lands to learn to learn to to do

this to till he learned to trust God and to rely on him.

And and now he gets to meet him right and gets to meet him as

Moses will become called. He won't be a man that talks to

God face to face. And and The thing is, is that

the training he got, he's going to need because God is about to

do the thing that we all ask him for on a regular basis.

I'm sure everybody in this room has has after they've given

their life to the Lord said Lord, just tell me what to do

and I'll do it. And God does that and Moses acts

probably exactly like we do, but it's this is a get in, get in,

hold on or sit down and hold on a moment for Moses.

Verse 6. Moreover, he said, I am the God

of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the

God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he

was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said, I have surely

seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt and have heard

their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their

sorrows. So I have come down to deliver

them out of the hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them up

from the land, and to do good, and to a good and large land, a

land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the

Canaanites, Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the

Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Now, therefore, behold the cry of the children of Israel come

to me. And I have also seen the

oppression which the Egyptians oppressed them.

Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you

may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of

Egypt. But Moses said to God, who am I

that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the children

of Egypt, the children of Israel out of Egypt.

A little different, little different position that Moses

had in chapter 2 where he's where he's he's going to bring

his people out, right. You got to imagine after 40

years, his response had to be like, so Lord, you have the

right number. Do you know, do you know who

you're talking to? Because I'm and this a Mistyle,

but Moses, Moses like us and this is this is something I

think you guys all understand is we we get orders from the Lord

and then we start coming up with the yeah, butts of why we can't

do it. You have it, Lord give it.

And the Lord very often, like a good father or a good coach,

doesn't respond. He just moves forward and Ian

Thomas quote that I just heard this week.

I've probably heard it before, but it was kind of fun because I

I heard it in a study this week and it says you can't.

God never said you could. He will and God always said he

would. And and that is the God we

serve, right? God is very clear on his plan

and who will be doing the work. Moses is going to be used to

speak, but God will certainly be with him doing the work.

And that's verse 12. So he said, I will certainly be

with you and this shall be a sign to you that I hate that I

have sent you when you have brought the people out of Egypt,

you shall serve God on this mountain.

Now I have to. This is one of those moments

that I have to think, Lord, thanks for the sign.

The sign is going to be that I that I brought 2 million stiff

necked people out of the land of Egypt with an evil Pharaoh and

we're going to serve you here. So that's the sign.

Can I get some signs between now and then?

Because there seems like there's some pieces missing, right?

There's there's some stuff that I I would like to know besides

that, but Moses was submitted. He was he was in he was

questioning, but he was in, you know, and that that's not unlike

me and a Bronco. I'm holding on, but I mean, I'd

like to know where we're going and verse 13.

Then Moses said to God, indeed, when and this is this is him

submitted when I come to the children of Israel and say to

them, the God of your father's has sent me to you and I say and

they say to me, what is his name?

What shall I say to them? So Lord, I'm willing to speak,

but I'm going to need I got I got some questions and I'm going

to need some help and God is willing willing, right he is, he

is not he is not looking for us to do anything in our power.

And when you, as we go through the word and you go front cover

to cover, God on purpose takes us to points in our lives, takes

takes the judges to points in their lives that it can't be

them. It has to be him.

And that's that's really as as Moses goes, you're going to

you're going to watch. And it's a lot of fun to just

watch him grow in this that God says and Moses does and doesn't

ask a lot of questions. He just all right, I guess we're

going to go tell them. We're going to go tell the

Pharaoh off again. I think he told me he was going

to kill me the next time he saw me.

But God said go. So I'm going to go.

And this is a recurring thing is trusting the Lord when he says

go, go. And verse 14 And God said to

Moses, I am who I am. And he said, Thus you shall say

to the children of Israel, I am has sent sent me to you.

Moreover, God said to Moses, thus you shall say to the

children of Israel, the Lord God of your father's, the God of

Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob has sent me to you.

This is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all

generations. Go and gather the elders of

Israel together and say to them, the Lord God, and that's Yahweh

of your father's, and the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob

appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you and seen what

is done to you in Egypt. And I have said I will bring you

up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the

Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the parasites, the

Hivites, the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and

honey. So this is that question for

Moses. Who do I serve?

This God tells me I am, that I am the one.

God is not saying I'm big. He's saying them all.

He's saying I was before, after I am it.

There aren't other gods that that is I am, that I am the

Yahweh, that all of that is saying.

There are other things people worship, but there is only one

God and I'm it. And so we're going to get back

to angels and their the fact that they don't, they don't put

up with people accepting God's worship.

They don't accept it. So there's only one God, but

then I'm also going to tell you guys, there's there's the

father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and their one God.

So there's going to be people out there that that say things

like Jesus never claimed to be God.

And so we're going to go through a few yes, he did verses right.

John 856 says Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day,

and he saw it and was glad. Then the Jews said to him, You

are not yet 50 years old, and you have seen Abraham.

Jesus said to him, most assuredly I say to you, before

Abraham was, I am. And then they took up stones to

throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the

temple, going through the midst of them, and so passing by.

So just to be clear, stoning is a lynch mob with big rocks to

throw at your head. They were not impressed with

what Jesus just said. They weren't confused about His

claim. Jesus just called himself not

only the Son of God, but God. And he, he goes on in Mark 14

Mark 14:62

verse 62, and this is him talking to the high priest I am.

And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of

power and coming with the clouds of heaven.

Then the high priest tore his close and said, what further

need do we have of witnesses? And sitting on sitting down next

to God is is a claim of deity, of being God.

And so once again the high priest tore his close and was

sending him to be crucified because he had claimed to be

God. John 635 Jesus said to them, I

am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never

hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.

So if Jesus isn't God, Jesus is a heretic, right?

And then John 1125, Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection

and the life. He who believes in me, though he

may die, he shall live. And this is the point right

here. Jesus proved all of these

statements to be true when he rose again on the third day and

we're coming up to Easter and it's going to be awesome, right?

But that's, that is the God we serve is, is he is bigger than

we can imagine. And he is more, we are more able

to trust him than anything. We know the, the world, the

culture will tell you that heaven and they'll, they'll do

videos and, and TV shows about heaven being ghosty.

And there's clouds floating around and people, people kind

of in and out of in about in and out of phase where you can see

him. Guys, heaven is solid.

We're ghosty, right? This is this what we're what we

are is the beginning of reality, right?

We heaven is real. We are not.

We are. We are just the precursor.

So be, be about his business, but understand that it's his

business, right, That the importance for us to submit to

his will and and to abide, which is that I mean, just that

picture of abiding of, you know, when I got in the truck, I, I

put on the I put on the five point harness.

And if you're, if you've ever been in a like an old Bronco or

any car with a roll cage, what you don't do is put your hand

outside the vehicle or hang on to the roll cage because

everything flexes. So if you put your hand and

there's this much space between the roll cage and the body, that

space gets smaller. And if your hands there, your

hand gets smaller. So you hold on, you, you hold on

right here. And there's practice in that

because as a, as, as somebody that's used to walking around,

you're used to kind of holding on to things out here.

And this is just trust, right? It's just trust.

You just hold on right here and look out the window.

And that's what God's asking us to do, right, is to follow him.

He he finishes chapter 3 with the final information Moses is

going to get verse 18. Then they will head, heed your

voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the

king of Egypt. You shall say to him, the Lord

God of the Hebrews has met with us and now please let us go

three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice

to the Lord our God. But I am sure that the king of

Egypt will not let you go. No, not even by a mighty hand.

So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all my

wonders, which I will do in the midst.

And after that he will let you go.

And I will give the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians.

And it shall be when you go that you shall not go empty handed.

But every woman shall ask her neighbor, namely of her, of her

who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of

gold, clothing, and you shall put them on your sons and your

daughters. So you shall plunder the

Egyptians. So God just gave Moses the

beginning and the end of the mission.

Go tell Pharaoh, he will see he there's going to be a fight and

he will set you free and you will plunder Egypt when you

leave. There are some other steps

between now and then, but Moses is going to work on the next

step, right? That he he's just going to go

and and he's going to trust that God has this right in our life.

The Spirit is looking for submitted hearts to do amazing

things. The world is full of lost and

dying slaves to sin that need the life saving grace of the

only one that can give it, the I am who I am.

Some of God's names in the Old Testament are mighty One, God,

Almighty God, most high, everlasting God, Lord and

Master. The Lord who heals the Lord is

peace. The Lord is my shepherd, the

Lord of our righteousness. The Lord the Lord is there.

Jesus is called the bread of life, the light of the world,

the door, the Good Shepherd, the resurrection and the life, the

way, the truth and the life, and the true vine.

Do we trust Him? Do we trust?

That's who we serve. Moses will lean in and he will

rely on and hold fast to his story.

The author is writing a story in my life, in your life about this

world. When are we willing to submit to

him? Are we willing to submit our

hearts to wherever He asks us to go and whatever He asks us to

do? Or are we willing to get in, sit

down, and hold on? And Lord, I just pray today that

you would be in our midst, Lord, that you would, he would be

speaking to us with that still small voice, Lord, that you'd be

guided and directed us. Lord, that there if there's

anything between us, if there's any, any cleansing that needs to

be done, Lord, that we'd be willing.

And Lord, we know you are able, Lord, that you would touch that.

Oh, Lord, nice. Thank you for today.
