  1. So she's great. She's actually going to step

  2. here because there's a point where she's going to read

  3. something and right off here the back so happy, happy

  4. resurrection Sunday, right. This is the the message named

  5. today is proved it and that is what he did 2000 years ago,

  6. right? This is he didn't just say

  7. stuff, he proved it. And so she's going to read this

  8. is this is a little excerpt out of the Angel story, which is a

  9. Max Lucado book. It is not, this is not

  10. scripture. This is this is a story a guy

  11. wrote with the idea of what possibly could have been

  12. happening in heaven or with the heavenly being.

  13. So this is she's going to read a the very end of the book and

  14. it's Gabriel Gabriel. Gabriel is, is the one speaking

  15. and there's a couple other angels mentioned as he's going

  16. through it. But I would read this, but I

  17. would probably start crying because if you, if you look at

  18. this guys, we sit in this room and I, I taught on Wednesday

  19. about, about the cross and all that went on there.

  20. And it was 2000 years ago. And it's something that we know

  21. what happens. The Angel watched it first hand

  22. and they watched it with complete power to stop it.

  23. They, there was, there was nobody.

  24. The Romans weren't strong enough to stop them, right?

  25. 101 Angel kills 188,000 Syrians, right?

  26. So so that they had that they had to just watch.

  27. And this is Gabriel when God reveals this plan to him.

  28. In that moment a wonderful thing happened.

  29. As we looked at the baby Jesus, the darkness lifted.

  30. Not the darkness of night, but the darkness of the mystery.

  31. Heaven's enlightenment engulfed the legions.

  32. Our minds were filled with truth we had never before known.

  33. We became aware for the first time of the Father's plan to

  34. rescue those who bear His name. He revealed to us all that was

  35. to come. At once.

  36. Amazed and stunned, the eye of every Angel went to one part of

  37. the Child, the hands which would be pierced at the pounding of

  38. the nail. God told us you will not save

  39. him. You will watch, you will hear,

  40. you will yearn, but you will not rescue.

  41. Paragon and Agus turn to me, begging for an explanation.

  42. I had none. I exist to serve my King and I

  43. must watch him be tortured to look to Michael.

  44. His face was stone hard with torment.

  45. I recognized the look, for I felt the same.

  46. We could not fathom the command. How will we sit silent as you

  47. suffer? We asked in unison.

  48. There was no response. Sophia was whispering.

  49. I drew near to hear his words. A child has been given to us.

  50. God has given us a son. He will be responsible for

  51. leading the people. His name will be wonderful

  52. counselor, powerful God Father who lives forever Prince of

  53. Peace. He will be wounded for the wrong

  54. they did, crushed for the evil they did.

  55. The punishment which will make them well will be given to Him.

  56. They will be healed because of His wounds.

  57. Once again I heard the words I had heard first in the throne

  58. room. Only this time I understood.

  59. So this is He, Emmanuel. So this is God's gift, a Savior.

  60. He shall save His people from their sins.

  61. And Lord, I just thank you. I thank you for all of it.

  62. Lord, I thank you. I thank you, Father, for being

  63. willing to send your son. I thank you, Jesus, for being

  64. willing to come, Lord. And Lord, that as we go through

  65. what you've done and the gift that you've given us, Lord, that

  66. you would just open our ears to hear and open our eyes to see.

  67. And Lord, give us a give us your heart to understand, Lord, and

  68. be in our midst today filled with your spirit.

  69. I pray this in Jesus name. So when you, when you look at it

  70. from the heavenly perspective, I don't know, for me, it just

  71. gives that so it really happened.

  72. And I know that we, we stand up here on, I stand up here on

  73. Sunday and I, I tell you the Bible's the truth and it's the

  74. word of God. And but I can tell you that if

  75. you, if you dig into this, if you dig into he is risen, you

  76. will find that it is true. And if it is true, the rest of

  77. the Bible is easily easy to believe.

  78. And I'm not going to today, I'm not going to stand up here and

  79. give you an apologetics lesson on all the reasons that it is

  80. true that Jesus rose from the dead.

  81. I'll tell you there's there's books out there.

  82. The one that comes to mind is that was coming to mind right

  83. before I said that. That's funny.

  84. I will remember and let you know there is a, a case for Christ

  85. Lee Strobel. And Lee Strobel was an

  86. investigative journalist who his his girlfriend or his wife got

  87. saved and he was disgusted. He was an atheist and he was, he

  88. went about to prove that Jesus did not rise from the dead.

  89. And what he ended up proving was Jesus rose from the dead and

  90. obviously wrote the book he saved.

  91. But the point is, the information is out there if you

  92. want to find it. And I will touch on some of it.

  93. But we're just going to take the Bible as the truth.

  94. As we go through this, I'll point out some moments that that

  95. really prove that it's true. But the the big thing that he

  96. proved, guys, is on the cross. He said it is finished, saying

  97. it's finished and it being finished are two different

  98. things, right? Unless you're God, in which case

  99. on Sunday when he rose from the dead, that was just proving he

  100. had the right to say it was finished.

  101. So we're going to actually be in to begin.

  102. We're going to be in First Corinthians 15, and this is Paul

  103. talking. And this is just the importance

  104. of this being true. Moreover, brethren, I declare to

  105. you the gospel which I preach to you, which also you received, in

  106. which you you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold

  107. fast that word which I preach to you, unless, unless you believed

  108. in vain. For I delivered to you first of

  109. all that which I also received, that Jesus Christ died for our

  110. sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was

  111. buried, and that he rose again on the third day according to

  112. the Scriptures. And that he was seen by Cephas

  113. then by the 12:00, and after that he was seen by over 500

  114. brethren at once, whom the greater part remained to the

  115. present. But some have fallen asleep.

  116. So that's one of those. And we'll, we'll dig into it a

  117. farther down, but so this is during the lifetime of Jesus, of

  118. not of Jesus, of, of those that watch these 500 men, many of

  119. them are still alive. The the apostles, many of them

  120. are still alive. The witnesses, many of them are

  121. still alive. So this, the point is, is that

  122. if I stood up here today and told you that John F Kennedy

  123. rose from the dead and would anybody believe me?

  124. No. Why?

  125. Because we know that that didn't happen.

  126. And there is there is no there we are in a in a time frame that

  127. we can prove that right. And this is this is this.

  128. And they are not afraid to share out loud.

  129. And we'll by the end of this, we will have numerous times where

  130. they shared bluntly in front of people that could have said

  131. you're lying. That didn't happen.

  132. But I'm going to do some review from Wednesday.

  133. We talked about Jesus was beaten and crucified while the heavens

  134. watched, right? And that's, we just, we just

  135. kind of heard what that was going to be like.

  136. Oh, and that book is called an Angel Story by Max Lucado, if

  137. you guys are interested. And it's, it's all about, it's

  138. all about Christmas from that perspective.

  139. The Tri-cities Calvary Chapel's youth group reads that every

  140. Christmas as like a Christmas Eve's.

  141. They're not like a Christmas evening thing that they do to

  142. the kids. And it's it's pretty powerful

  143. just because it's not. It's just looking at it from the

  144. position of the real right, is that that we get the idea that

  145. where we're at is real and heavens ghosty and there there's

  146. nothing farther from the truth. Heaven's the real and we're the

  147. ghosty, which means as solid as this is, heaven is more solid,

  148. right? And so as Jesus is doing this,

  149. just know that it's being done completely and forever.

  150. But at the same time, Satan, Satan and his were celebrating

  151. thinking they had won, right? That I mean, that's, that's the,

  152. that's as God leads them down this path, right?

  153. That's one of those things that I, I love about the story.

  154. You know, Jesus or Satan is probably saying it at some point

  155. during the crucifixion. There will be no seed crushing

  156. today or no head crushing today by that seed, right?

  157. Is that he, he had finally like put a fork in it.

  158. He'd finished, he'd won the game.

  159. And my question is, when did Satan figure out he had

  160. overplayed his hand? You know what, when, when it

  161. went dark for three hours, you know, because that darkness.

  162. And that's, that's one of those proofs when you look into the,

  163. when you look into the resurrection, that's one of the,

  164. or the crucifixion, that's one of the proofs that had happened

  165. is there was 3 hours of darkness between noon and 3:00.

  166. So that that three hours of darkness happens and it's it's

  167. documented by secular non Christian historians.

  168. And some of them, some of them just explain it as it happened.

  169. Some of them explained it and say it was an eclipse.

  170. The problem with an eclipse is that Passover is, is on a full

  171. moon and which means if you guys don't know how all that works,

  172. the sun is over there and the moon is over there and the earth

  173. isn't blocking either 1 So they it can't be an eclipse, right?

  174. Because but it was dark for three hours.

  175. So you got to wonder, did Satan go, Well, that's unfortunate.

  176. And then the earth started quaking.

  177. Well, I'm getting somebody's attention.

  178. And then then you got to wonder when Jesus said it is finished,

  179. was that the moment that he went, well, what's finished?

  180. And I tell you that the one that the one that is always, let me

  181. see, where am I at? So Luke 2344 says now it was

  182. about the 6th hour and there was darkness over the earth until

  183. the 9th hour. The sun was darkened and the

  184. veil of the temple was torn in two.

  185. So what's, what's the deal? And we've talked about the veil

  186. in the past, but this veil is is actually what it's all about.

  187. But it's not the veil in the temple.

  188. The temple veil was really cool and very symbolic of what the

  189. veil was. But Exodus 2631 says you shall

  190. make a veil woven of blue, purple and scarlet thread and

  191. fine and woven linen. It shall be woven with artistic

  192. design and cherubim. You shall hang it upon the four

  193. pillars of the Acacia wood overlaid with gold.

  194. Their hooks shall be gold upon the four sockets of silver.

  195. And you shall hang the veil from the class.

  196. Then you shall bring the Ark of the Testimony in there behind

  197. the veil. The veil shall be the divider

  198. for you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy.

  199. You shall put the mercy seat upon the Ark of the Testimony in

  200. the Most Holy Place. So this veil is separating the

  201. Holy Place from the Most Holy Place and and we're not we're

  202. not Jewish from back then or we're not Israelis.

  203. And that's that seems distant, but the idea there is the mercy

  204. seat was where that was. That was God's throne on earth.

  205. But in Hebrews it says, for Christ has not entered the holy

  206. places made with hands which are copies of the true, but into

  207. heaven itself. Now to to appear in the presence

  208. of God for us. That's what he did in heaven.

  209. He took down that wall of separation and gave us the gave

  210. us the ability to come into God's presence, not not in my

  211. power, right, not because I'm special, but because in Christ.

  212. And if I am saved and I'm in him, I now have the the the

  213. right through what he did on the cross to come into the presence

  214. of God and have have conversations with him and and

  215. be that that cool of the day, being able to just talk and

  216. speak to God, not as not as something that is afar off

  217. right. This is this is the thing about

  218. Christianity is we dig into the proof we serve a living God.

  219. We don't serve a religion. And I know that I you, you guys

  220. have me up here every week and and I beat on that.

  221. But it is so important for you to understand it isn't a game to

  222. be played. It it is if you, if you do not

  223. have a relationship with Jesus and you're in church every

  224. Sunday and you stand up front every Sunday and you do

  225. everything that's at a church to be able to do, but you do not

  226. have a relationship with the living God.

  227. You are lost. And that relationship isn't

  228. something that is. It isn't ghosty.

  229. It's it's simple. Lord, come into me.

  230. I want to come into you. Forgive me for my sins, but it's

  231. something you have to do between you and him.

  232. You someone can lead you in a prayer, but the prayers words

  233. are not magical. Your heart being changed, is

  234. that right? That proof is there and the

  235. thing about that proof is when when you are in Christ and in

  236. His grace, you become more than conquerors, right?

  237. And what that means is you live in a different way.

  238. There is a joy about your life. That isn't because isn't because

  239. you go to church and I have joy. Look at me, I smile all the

  240. time. There is a peace in your life in

  241. my life that is given to us by him that I can't explain to

  242. others. I mean, I can explain it, but I

  243. it, it's literally mine. It's something he gave me and

  244. that that being more than conquerors means that I can

  245. trust him, right? And and the one of the reasons I

  246. can trust him is that he proved it.

  247. But Romans 837 it it Paul's talking about this.

  248. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him

  249. who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither

  250. death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor

  251. things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor

  252. any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the

  253. love of God, which is in Jesus our Lord.

  254. So Paul proclaims that nothing can separate us when we're in

  255. Christ. You give your life to the Lord.

  256. You are safe in Him now you need to remain in him and that means

  257. it's no different than I need to remain married to my wife,

  258. right? It's we have a relationship and

  259. but there isn't anybody that is going to snatch us out of his

  260. hand. He is, he is able to do what he

  261. says He can do in my I shared this on Wednesday and those that

  262. were here are going to hear it again.

  263. But when Jesus proved it right, when he said it is finished and

  264. then rose again, that rising again is exactly like what he

  265. does in Luke 523 with the paralyzed man.

  266. And that is the Pharisees were doubting whether or not he had

  267. the power to do what he said he could do.

  268. And so Jesus said he could do it and then he did it.

  269. And so that's the tomb, right? He said he could do it, and it

  270. was done. The empty tomb just proves that

  271. he was right. Does that make sense?

  272. It's Luke 523, which is easier to say to you, say your sins are

  273. forgiven you, or to say, rise up and walk.

  274. And So what has happened here is this man was lowered down

  275. through the ceiling by his friends, and he landed in front

  276. of him, a paralyzed man. And Jesus says your sins are

  277. forgiven. And the Pharisees and the

  278. Sadducees and all the religious leaders lost their everliving

  279. mind because this guy is forgiving sins, and how can he

  280. forgive sins? And so Jesus says, which is

  281. easier to say your sins are forgiven, or rise up and walk,

  282. but that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to

  283. forgive sins, He said to the man.

  284. Who was paralyzed I say to you, arise, take up your bed and go

  285. your go to your house. Immediately he rose up before

  286. them and took up for them had been lying on Oh, where did I

  287. go? Immediately he rose up before

  288. them, took up what he had been lying on and separated to,

  289. departed to his home glorifying God.

  290. And they were all amazed and glorified God.

  291. And we're filled with fear, saying we have seen strange

  292. things today. So Jesus explains over and over,

  293. you can go. You can go from the beginning to

  294. the end of every one of the Gospels and He will explain to

  295. you every way it can be explained.

  296. God is in charge. He is running this show and He

  297. is giving power for each step of the show.

  298. The only power that Satan has, the only power darkness gets is

  299. given to him by God. And that doesn't mean that God

  300. is darkness. It means that God is allowing to

  301. move the story forward as God says, right?

  302. It's his story. It's like think of a think of a

  303. novel and the writer right at the end of the at the end of the

  304. story, all the people win. But there's got to be a bad guy

  305. right to to get the get the good guys where he wants, wants them

  306. to go. And that's that that analogy

  307. breaks down. Yes, it does, but that's the

  308. idea, right? Luke 2252 Then Jesus said to the

  309. chief priests, captains, captains of the temple and the

  310. elders who had come to him. Have you come out against a

  311. robber with swords and clubs? When I was with you daily in the

  312. temple, you did not try to seize me but in your hour, but sorry,

  313. but this is your hour and the power of darkness.

  314. So that power of darkness, right?

  315. So that isn't the dunamis, which we, we talk about dunamis and

  316. that's, that's explosive power, right?

  317. That isn't that power. This is this is delegated power.

  318. This is you. It's like it's the, the police

  319. have the have the power to write us a ticket out here.

  320. And they were given that power by the city, right?

  321. And the city was given that power to to have police write

  322. that by the state. And the state was given that

  323. power by America, right? And it's, it's those that kind

  324. of power just delegated power, right?

  325. You're allowed, you were allowed in this moment to run, to run

  326. this. And Jesus goes on to explain to

  327. the world, which would be Pilot because Pilot is, I always feel

  328. for Pilot because if his life didn't change, if, if things

  329. didn't go another way for him before his death, he had a

  330. second meeting with Jesus, it didn't go well.

  331. And we don't want to ever be that right?

  332. We, we want to, we want to make that, that decision.

  333. And Pilot may have right. I, I don't, I don't condemn him

  334. because I don't know. But I know in this moment he

  335. made some bad choices. But John 1910 it says then

  336. Pilate said to him, are you not speaking to me?

  337. Do you not know that I have the power to crucify you and the

  338. power to release you? Jesus answered, you could have

  339. no power at all against me unless it had been given you

  340. from above. Therefore, no one delivers me to

  341. you or sorry, the ones who delivered me to you has the

  342. greater sin. And, and the point there is

  343. Jesus says it later on that that he's going to lay down his life

  344. and he has the, he has the power to lay it down and pick it up

  345. right. Jesus and the Father and the

  346. Holy Spirit run this whole thing.

  347. You know it. You'll, you'll hear different,

  348. different people talk about the Jews crucify Jesus, the Romans

  349. crucify Jesus. And, and the facts are this was

  350. his story. It was the plan.

  351. Because like I said, there's a point where I'm sure Satan went

  352. that didn't go like I wanted it, where he overplayed his hand.

  353. And that was God just letting it just going, you have it do your

  354. worst. And Satan went to work, right?

  355. So then we finally get to he's risen, right?

  356. And that is this is these are the the moments in this proof.

  357. So the best, the best proof that Jesus rose from the dead is

  358. there's many of them. But the one I, I love is that

  359. you know who God had placed right outside the tomb doors?

  360. He had guards and he had Roman guards.

  361. Now these Roman guards, if they let, if they let some fishermen

  362. swing by, roll the tomb, the the stone away and steal the body,

  363. these are Romans. They didn't like Jews to begin

  364. with. And they were Romans whose lies

  365. were on the line. Because if they fail, they can

  366. be killed. And so you put all that together

  367. and they're the best witnesses because they're not going to lie

  368. for nobody, right? They are, they are literally

  369. their, their necks are on the line.

  370. So it says Matthew 2762. On the next day, which followed

  371. the day of preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees

  372. gathered together to pilot, saying, Sir, we remember while

  373. he was alive, how that deceiver said, After three days I will

  374. rise. Therefore command the two.

  375. Command that the tomb be secured until the 3rd day, unless his

  376. disciples come by night, steal him away and say that the people

  377. are, and say to the people, He has risen from the dead, so that

  378. last deception will be worse than the first.

  379. Pilot said to them, You have a guard go your way, make it as

  380. secure as you know how. So they went and made the tomb

  381. secure, sealing the stone and setting a guard.

  382. And I kind of like that backhanded comment of Pilot

  383. because remember, this is after the crucifixion.

  384. This is after three days of darkness or three hours of

  385. darkness. This is after the veil torn 2

  386. and and Pilot at this point is coming.

  387. Yeah, you go make it as secure as you know how, right?

  388. I'm, I'm pretty sure we're all in trouble here, right?

  389. And so that's that the guards were there to witness this.

  390. And and if you can imagine Peter and John or James or any of them

  391. showing up with swords and they're going to take on the

  392. Roman soldiers, that going to work out.

  393. I mean, they Peter, Peter just a day before had like denied Jesus

  394. to a little girl. I'm pretty sure he wasn't

  395. picking up a sword against the soldiers.

  396. But so then Matthew 28 verse 2 says, and behold, there was a

    Matthew 28:2

  397. great earthquake for the Angel of the Lord descended from

  398. heaven for sorry for an Angel of the Lord descended from heaven

  399. and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on

  400. it. His countenance was like

  401. lightning, his clothes as white as snow.

  402. And the guard shook for fear of him and became like dead man.

  403. OK, so let's go back to the beginning story that Faye read.

  404. So this is this is the one shot. This is an Angel that has wanted

  405. to whack off Roman heads for days at this point, right?

  406. Because they and he gets to scare him to death, right?

  407. And he gets, I mean, he gets to make a show and because you got

  408. to know at this moment, guys, the, the stone was not rolled

  409. away to let Jesus out. It was rolled away to let us in,

  410. right? Jesus was gone.

  411. This is this is, this is the, the Angel knows exactly what's

  412. happened. The Lord is alive and hey, let,

  413. let me go down and take care of these guards.

  414. Now he isn't allowed to touch him, but he does he does give

  415. him a bit of a you know, and they became like dead men,

  416. right? That's that's pretty scary.

  417. So but all of that to be said, these soldiers failed and the

  418. penalty for failure was death. So and this will go into some

  419. hardness of heart of guys. When you look around the world

  420. and you go, how can they not the level of hardness this part

  421. takes. Matthew 28 now 2011 Now while

  422. they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city

  423. and reported to the chief priests all the things that had

  424. happened when they had assembled with the elders and consulted

  425. together. They gave a large sum of money

  426. to the soldiers saying tell the tell them his disciple came at

  427. his disciples came at night and stole him away while we slept.

  428. And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will appease

  429. appease him and make you secure. So the the soldiers weren't

  430. going to pilot that'll get him killed.

  431. They go to the they go to the chief priests.

  432. And I know that we always look at them and they're the guys

  433. with the black mask. And and you know, if they this

  434. was a stage, you're going to say Boo when they came up on stage,

  435. that kind of stuff. When you read that, how hard are

  436. those hearts? How how they the guards, these

  437. are these are not Jewish guards. These are not believers.

  438. These are just just Roman soldiers.

  439. Come and tell you that an Angel of light came down and rolled a

  440. stone away from a tomb and there was no body in the tomb anymore

  441. and you were there the entire time.

  442. And this leads you to believe that Jesus was telling the truth

  443. and that he is risen. And the Pharisees and the

  444. Sadducees and the the leaders say, let's cover it up.

  445. I mean that they even thought they could, but they were

  446. willing to try it. I mean that there is a level of,

  447. of just blindness in that I always say when, when Jesus

  448. raised Lazarus from the dead, the, the leaders left there

  449. going, well, how are we going to kill Lazarus too?

  450. And, and so guys, that blindness is real.

  451. And when we talk about that, that blindness will not go away

  452. in debate, right? You're not going to debate that

  453. blindness out of somebody. You're not going to debate that

  454. because you proved the things right.

  455. How how that blindness is taken away is prayer.

  456. And I say that when you Fast forward to Paul or when Saul was

  457. persecuting the church, imagine how many people were praying for

  458. or against him. But there was definitely prayer

  459. battling Saul, whether that was they were praying he would see

  460. the light or they were praying he would be killed and not kill

  461. them because he was not nice and the scales were taken off his

  462. eyes, right? Paul was this level of blind

  463. about who Jesus was. And then because the scales were

  464. taken off his eyes, he became the writer of of a good most of

  465. the New Testament, right. So no prayer is is the thing,

  466. guys. It's not debate, right?

  467. It's not say the right thing. It's say the thing the Lord

  468. asked you to say. But now we are we are truly now

  469. to where he is risen. Mark 16 One.

  470. Now when the Sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene, Mary, Mary, the

  471. mother of James, and Salomon brought spices, that they might

  472. come and anoint him. Very early in the morning on the

  473. first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had

  474. risen. And they said among themselves,

  475. Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for

  476. us? But when they looked up, they

  477. saw that the stone had been rolled away, for that was, for

  478. it was very large. And entering the tomb they saw a

  479. young man clothed in long white robes, sitting on the right

  480. side. And they were alarmed.

  481. But he said, He said to them, Do not be alarmed.

  482. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified.

  483. He is risen. He is not there or He's not

  484. here. See the place where they laid

  485. him. But but go and tell the

  486. disciples and Peter that He is going before you into Galilee.

  487. There you will see Him. And he said, and as he said to

  488. you, sorry, there you will see Him, as he said to you.

  489. So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they

  490. trembled and were amazed, and they said nothing to anyone, for

  491. they were afraid. So this is not saying that they

  492. didn't go and tell the disciples.

  493. This is saying that they didn't tell anybody along the way

  494. because in Luke it talks about then they returned from the tomb

  495. and this is the ladies from the tomb to the 11 and all of the

  496. rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Jonah,

  497. Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who

  498. told these things to the apostles.

  499. And their words seem to them like idols, idol tales.

  500. And they did not believe them, but Peter arose and ran to the

  501. tomb. So as we go through these three

  502. accounts, this is where people would say there are, there are

  503. discrete, there are they? They contradict each other

  504. because they mentioned different people and they're, they were

  505. all the ladies. And then there's in John.

  506. It's going to talk about it just being Mary, but it doesn't say

  507. only Mary. It just says Mary and Mary is

  508. the one that speaks. So it's it's the way you explain

  509. that is think of a drive by shooting.

  510. Please show up and they start asking questions and the first

  511. person they go and they so a car came by and was shooting at us

  512. and it's a 95 Monte Carlo. And then they go to the next

  513. person and they say some guys, some guys were shooting at us.

  514. One of them was tall, one of them was short.

  515. And then the last one says James, I recognize him was in

  516. was in a car and he was shooting at us.

  517. OK, all of those are true, right?

  518. But they just were more specific or less specific.

  519. You don't. It's one of those that as the

  520. gospel writers were writing, and John is John is specifically

  521. drawing out particular things in his story.

  522. They're they're writing to tell you the story, not to change the

  523. story. They don't do that, but they

  524. they want you to. They're emphasizing parts of it

  525. that they want you to see. And so then you get to John 20

  526. verse one says now the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went

  527. to the tomb early while it was still dark and saw that the

  528. stone had been taken away from the tomb.

  529. Then she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple

  530. whom Jesus loved. And if you guys don't know, that

  531. is John. He that's how he that's what he

  532. calls himself all through the book of John and said to them

  533. they have taken away the Lord out of the tomb and we do not

  534. know where they have laid him. Peter therefore went out and the

  535. other disciple and we're going and they went to the tomb.

  536. Now I love this part because this is so guys are the same.

  537. They were the same 2000 years ago as they are today.

  538. Opportunity to point out that I'm faster than you.

  539. So verse 4. So they both ran together, and

  540. the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb 1st And he

  541. stooped down and looked inside, looked in, and saw the linen

  542. clothes lying there. Yet he did not go in.

  543. Then Simon Peter came following him and went into the tomb, and

  544. he saw the linen clothes lying there, and the handkerchief that

  545. had been around his head, not lying with the linen clothes,

  546. but folded up together in a place by itself.

  547. Then the other disciple who came to the tomb first went in also,

  548. and saw and believed, for as yet they did not know the Scripture,

  549. that he must rise again from the dead.

  550. Then the disciple went out again.

  551. The disciples went out again together to their own homes.

  552. I love that about John. It adds proof to me that that a

  553. guy wrote it because truth, right?

  554. I'm faster than Peter. He's kind of slow and wrote it

  555. for all time and eternity. Imagine Peter was excited about

  556. that when he got to to read it. Really.

  557. But Jesus then shows, shows up to them all in Luke.

  558. And he this time he shows up in an inner room.

  559. Another passage, it says the doors were locked, which means

  560. he had to come. He had to come in somehow and if

  561. you listen to guys that are way smarter than me, you have to

  562. fold yourselves through multiple dimensions to be able to just

  563. enter a room. But so he's, you know, glorified

  564. bodies are pretty cool. But that all being said, this is

  565. his proof Jesus wasn't a ghost. He wasn't he didn't he didn't

  566. show up and walked in and walked out.

  567. He showed up and proved he was a lie.

  568. Luke 2436 says Now as the as now they said these things, Jesus

  569. himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, Peace to

  570. you. But they were terrified and

  571. frightened, and suppose they had seen a spirit.

  572. And he said to them, Why are you troubled, and why do you doubt

  573. arise? Why does doubt arise in your

  574. hearts? Behold my hands and my feet,

  575. that it is myself. Handle me and see, for the

  576. Spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.

  577. When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

  578. But while they still did not believe, for joy and marvel, he

  579. said to them, Have you any food here?

  580. So they gave him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb,

  581. and he took it and ate it in their presence.

  582. Then he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you

  583. while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled,

  584. which were written in the law of Moses and the prophets, and the

  585. Psalms concerning me. And he opened their

  586. understandings, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

  587. And he said to them, Thus it is written.

  588. Thus it was necessary for Christ to suffer and rise from the dead

  589. on the third day and they repent and and that repentance and

  590. remission of sins should be priests in his name to all

  591. nations beginning in Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these

  592. things. And I know that's a lot, but he

  593. he wanted them to touch him and say you're I'm real.

  594. And then and then eating food, he changed the environment he

  595. was in, right? He ate food.

  596. It didn't he didn't want to ghost.

  597. He ate food. You guys watch Casper the

  598. friendly ghost where he's eating and it's just falling on the

  599. floor behind him. That isn't the story, right?

  600. Jesus ate fish and it went into his stomach and and he had

  601. honeycomb and it went into his stomach.

  602. And this is this is his, his proof to them.

  603. But remember, he, he continued for 40 days more meeting with up

  604. to 500 people. He, he met John and he, he met

  605. James and he spoke with him. He talked to him.

  606. And then they said things they told people, right?

  607. They continued to speak of, of this and the people believed

  608. them because they saw it and they had friends that saw it.

  609. So this is not something that, that it's like, oh, that was a

  610. neat fable. You'll find that that as you go

  611. through the Bible, it loses all of its fable and legend when you

  612. just read it because it it gives you verifiable things, things

  613. you can. I mean, it takes work if you

  614. want to dig into it, but if you dig into it, you will find that

  615. it's true. See, so Paul and that first,

  616. first Corinthians 15, he reminds us that Jesus has risen.

  617. And if he's not risen, guys, and this Paul will go through all

  618. this. If he is not raised up, then we

  619. are not saved because because then we are we are worse than

  620. another religion because we say we have freedom, because Jesus

  621. has risen from the dead. And if he is not risen from the

  622. dead, we do not have freedom and we are not right.

  623. We are not able to have that ability to speak to the Lord,

  624. but he is risen and there is proof, right?

  625. 1st Corinthians 1514 says, and this is Paul speaking and he

  626. says it way better than I do. If Christ is not risen, then our

  627. preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.

  628. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God because we have

  629. testified of God that He is, that he raised up Christ, whom

  630. he did not raise up. If in fact the dead do not rise,

  631. for if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.

  632. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile, you are still

  633. in your sins. Then also those who have fallen

  634. asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have

  635. hope in Christ, we are all the most pitiable, which means if

  636. Jesus isn't living, then we are wasting our time.

  637. But he finishes in verse 20 and says, but now Christ is risen

  638. from the dead and has become the first fruit for those who have

  639. fallen asleep. For since by man came death by

  640. man also came the resurrection of the dead.

  641. For Adam all died. Even so in Christ all shall be

  642. made alive. And that is crucial, right, that

  643. that idea there is that through Adam we all we have all sinned.

  644. We we, we have a sin nature and Christ coming as a man and dying

  645. on a cross, if that's all he was, if he was a guy and he was

  646. perfect and he never sinned, if that's all he was when he died

  647. on the cross, he could save one person because everybody sin

  648. leads to death. So he could save somebody who

  649. had some another Sinner, but he couldn't save the whole world

  650. unless he was God. And he proved he was God when he

  651. rose again on 3rd day. When he said it was finished, it

  652. was finished and then he proved it.

  653. And if you go back to Matthew 16 verse 15, and this is that

    Matthew 16:15

  654. passage where him and Peter talking about who he is.

  655. And he said And Peter said, and he said to them, but sorry,

  656. Jesus said, and he said to him said to them, but who do you say

  657. I am? Simon Peter answered and said,

  658. You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

  659. And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you side Simon

  660. Barjona, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my

  661. Father who is in heaven, and I also say to you, Peter, on this

  662. rock I will build my church, and the gates of Haiti shall not

  663. prevail against it. And this is where knowing what

  664. it says is really important because what it says is you are

  665. Peter, which is Petros, which is stone.

  666. And on this rock, which is Petra, which is bedrock.

  667. And they're big. There's big difference, right?

  668. There's a gravel versus the mountain.

  669. And then that so the truth, so the the bedrock that Jesus will

  670. build his church on that the gates of hell will not prevail

  671. against is he is the Christ, the son of the living God.

  672. That's the truth. And that's, that's the proof

  673. that he gives when he walks out of the grave and, and he

  674. continues to give it to us in, in our lives.

  675. It says in first Corinthians 15550 death.

  676. Where is your sting? Oh, Hades, where is your

  677. victory? Guys, if you're in Christ and

  678. you know, you know, you don't have to worry, right?

  679. I, I, I joke about construction and all that stuff.

  680. And you always have to raise your hand.

  681. Who has your CPR card? And my, my standard line to my

  682. guys is that, you know, everybody raise their hand who

  683. has it. I said, hey, if I go down, I'm

  684. good. No kissing, right?

  685. You can do some, you can do some compressions if you feel like

  686. it, you know, jump up and down on my chest.

  687. But I'm good. I know where I'm going to you.

  688. And that's my, you know, it's kind of my jab at them first

  689. thing in the morning just to keep everybody alive and awake

  690. that, you know, getting right. But Jesus is more important than

  691. having your CPR card right now. Here's here's I said there was

  692. they they all talked about it and there was proof, right.

  693. So Peter days after, right, 40 days after this is just after

  694. Pentecost. And Peter stands up in Jerusalem

  695. where it happened. And this was easy to shut down.

  696. This was easy to tell him to sit down and shut up.

  697. You're lying men of Israel. This is Acts 2 verses 22, and it

    Acts 2:22

  698. says, Men of Israel, hear these words.

  699. Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested by God to you, by

  700. miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did through him in

  701. your midst, and you yourself also know him.

  702. Being delivered by the determined purpose and

  703. foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands and

  704. crucified and put to death whom God raised up, having loosed the

  705. pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be

  706. held by it. That's easily proved wrong if it

  707. isn't true. This is, this is within 40 days,

  708. 50 days of sorry, 50 days of the crucifixion if Jesus didn't rise

  709. from the dead. There's a bunch of people and

  710. there's 3000 of them. Get saved.

  711. But there's a bunch of the chief priests and the magistrate

  712. saying his body's right here. I don't know what you're talking

  713. about. And if you don't, if if you're

  714. here today and you're like, well, I'm not sure.

  715. He wrote from the dead, come see me, I can share stuff with you.

  716. But no, it happened. This is true.

  717. And because it's true, everything else we read is true,

  718. right? Romans 69 says no, knowing that

  719. Christ, having being raised from the dead, dies no more death, no

  720. longer has dominion over him for death, that he died.

  721. He died to sin once for all, but the life that he lives, he lives

  722. to God and you can have that life.

  723. But The thing is guys, is that we are all sinners and we many

  724. of us in this room know these verses, right?

  725. Romans 323 I didn't say it. He said it for all his sin and

  726. fall short of the glory of God. There is nothing I bring to that

  727. tomb, nothing. I I say it pretty often that the

  728. only thing I brought to Jesus was my need for him.

  729. Period. And if we're all sinners, the

  730. wages of sin is death. The reason that death couldn't

  731. hold Jesus is he had no sin. And Romans 623 says, but the

  732. gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  733. So the reason that we can trust that first is that he rose and

  734. he proved that he's able. And here's one that Gabriel was

  735. wrestling with right. And on that the beginning,

  736. beginning, but God demonstrated his own loves towards us.

  737. Yeah, that's dirt in that while we were still sinners, Christ

  738. died for us. So as as the angels who were

  739. made to serve God heard God's plan and went watched you make

  740. them out of dirt. They're they're they're you call

  741. them by your name, but I watched you make them out of dirt and

  742. you're going to let them do what Lord and I have to stand and do

  743. what Lord God demonstrated his own love towards us in that

  744. while we were still sinners, Christ died for us to get that

  745. that we are that important to him.

  746. He he proved his love to us on that day, the distance he was

  747. willing to go. He said a lot of things guys and

  748. he proved they were all true 2000 years ago when he walked

  749. out of the two and and spoke to us.

  750. And you can have that relationship.

  751. If you don't have that relationship, come and see me.

  752. If you do have that relationship celebrated, celebrate it daily.

  753. Spend time with your your risen savior who wants to spend time

  754. with you, wants to spend time with you enough that he was

  755. willing to do everything. It took all of it and and BI

  756. want to get weird in the Angel thing, but think of the angels

  757. and the and somebody gets saved and then doesn't have time to

  758. spend time with him. Think of them going what how

  759. does that work? What do you mean?

  760. You've you have access to the living God and you're too busy.

  761. How so spend time with him and Lord, I just I lift up today.

  762. Lord, thank you. Thank you so much for all that

  763. you've done. Thank you that we can trust you

  764. and that you, you're here with us today, that you're here with

  765. us now, Lord, that you, you go in and out with us, that you

  766. just take care of us, Lord, and that you proved who you are.

  767. And Lord I, I just thank you for all that you do for us.

  768. Be with us today. Guide and direct us.

  769. And I pray this all in Jesus name, Amen.
