Today we be in a brand new sermon series entitled God on Trial.
-
It is a three week sermon series in the Gospel of Luke where we arrive at the part of Jesus' story
-
where Jesus is taken from the Garden of Gethsemane and is put on trial by men.
-
Now think about that. The audacity of man to take the Son of God and put him on trial.
-
But Jesus did not go through one trial. He went through three trials.
-
One before the Jewish Sanhedrin. Second before the Roman Consulate.
-
And the third before the King of the region. And all three trials Jesus performs beautifully.
-
But it ends with his unjust execution. And today we're going to begin that study.
-
If you've never studied the Gospel of Luke before, welcome to the church. We are so glad you're here.
-
It's one of our favorite passages in all of the Bible. And today we find ourselves in Luke chapter
Luke 22 chapter mention
-
22. And I'm going to begin the reading this morning before I pray in Luke chapter 22 and verse number
Luke 22 chapter mention
-
66. And it says, as soon as it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and
-
scribes came together and led Jesus into their council saying, if you are the Christ, tell us.
-
But he said to them, if I tell you, you will by no means believe. And if I ask you, you will by no
-
means answer me or let me go. But hereafter, the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power
-
of God. Then they said to Jesus, are you the Son of God then? So he said to them, you rightly say
-
that I am. Let us pray, Father, today as we study this passage,
